I finally finished the mutuals meme!!! Sorry, it took me so long! D: Thank you very much for providing me with your characters, they are all very lovely! <3 Characters belong to: @havethetouch @nairanorica @mollydastoertchen (I didn’t want to include hands, but after I read in Nathan’s description “His hands are always moving when he talks”, I was like “OMG, SAME!” and just had to draw his hand gesticulating. Mutual OCs - 1 - Raja

There was ages ago this runaround for an draw your mutuals OC's in your style and can you tell my backlog is not just reserved for older work but also work I did this year?

Anyway so I did the OC Meme with my mutuals OC's and because I am colour fixated I went through a rainbow with the entire thing so we start with purple, meaning we start with dear Raja by @boafb who I adore massively just as much as her grandkid. I also love that they have basically the same colour just a hue apart. Okay, I mean idk how it conveys in digital but both for Raja and her grandkid Friedrike I use the same colour family of copics (BG70 - BG78) and mix it with a particular shade of cool greys to get their colours right and Friedrike has a ligther shade of the muted turquoise as main colour (BG72) and the next darker one as shading (BG75) and grandma Raja has that darker shade as main colour (BG75 & shading BG78) basically and it is very pleasing to me how you can tell the family relations by the colours like Friedrike has some fur on her too that she got from her grandpa so like I love that kinda stuff a lot and I will never not shut the fuck up how amazing Boa's babes are not only conceptually but also how cleverly there are just design relations via colours and stuff like hell fucking yeah.

My creative juices are coming back, so I decided to kick artblock's butt by finally doing this meme - drawing others' OCs always inspires me a lot, so this was perfect. And I had an excellent time with this, all the characters have such fun colours, designs and personalities <3 I had a blast working on all of them!

Which OC do you love a lot yourself, but others just don't seem to give them the attention you think they deserve?

Once again I post my oldest OC in here: Lloyd Ramalith.

He is a Mary Sue, as many of my older characters are, but I'd like to believe that he aged rather well xD

Lloyd is just such a love filled character for me. He is one of my first boys, that, uhm, I had the pleasure of, uh, shipping with another guy. Yeah, he was totally one of the SHIPPING starters for me. He was also the start of a very awesome friendship basically, as back then I had a very toxic best friend that was just becoming unbearably. So after a few years of mental pressure from that toxic friend, I finally let go and found myself more and more involved with my bestie @Zelendur who since has been such a big staple in my life <3 Lloyd will forever remind me of that journey of becoming the bests of close friends with my bebe girl, and therefore I'm thankful.

But seriously, Lloyd doesnt get enough love. Lloyd doesnt even get enough love from ME as I have barely any proper artwork of him except for really old traced pictures when I was young and wasnt able to draw right. I even just have a handful of commissions, eventhough he is such a sweetheart and I love his colours despite his Mary Sue looks.

Also, his now boyfriend, Dragomir, might be one of my earliest crushes on an OC ever, not gonna lie. xDD

But I mean. Really. His reference sheet is from 2009!!

Its ugly, its so much not up to date, its just HORRIBLE and yet I just couldnt really bother to draw a new one and its stupid xD HE NEEDS MORE LOVE. and a proper and up-to-date reference sheet... yeah, that one is on me probably lol.

I want to practise human faces this year and I also felt like drawing a muscular character, so, Ronya's pretty shark mutant Nilson Solheim was perfect to do both! :)

I wanted to keep my Art on Tumblr up to date and post everything I produce in 2023, especially from my headworld, but I already got lazy and have a backlog! And also neglected tumblr (and you!) in general, so sorry for that! I was very RL busy the last few weeks. Enough excuses, art!

A picture I finished in January, which is very lore heavy, featuring the actual main character of my head world main story (Colin).

From left to right: Fritz (lumberjack), Colin (former prince, tavern servant), Wilhelm (high ranking politician), and Sepp (blacksmith).

The most important info on Colin’s backstory, to better understand the picture:

second son of the king

banished for freeing a prisoner (at age 14)

lives among common folk as tavern servant (incognito)

reveals his identity to prevent civil unrest (helps the common folk to deal with social problems without violence, protecting them)

Now for the current picture: The main way how Colin helps the common folk is with education (teaching them to read, non-obvious legislation, etc.) but there are problems that cannot be solved by this. So Colin seeks out old acquaintances from the high society to threaten them have a friendly exchange with them about the possibilities of improving the lives of the common folk. On the picture he talks to Wilhelm. Wilhelm is a very high up in politics, a personal advisor to the king and belongs to one of the wealthiest families in the kingdom. No no, Colin did not deliberately take the lumberjack (Fritz) and the blacksmith (Sepp) because he thought they looked particularly threatening. It just happened that only the two of them had time.

If you were wondering, yes, Wilhelm is the grandfather of Winfried. So the conversation took the expected turn when you talk to a member of this family :')

I actually wanted to draw some requests for a while now and thanks to @havethetouch I discovered this "draw your mutuals" thing, which seems to be a good opportunity! :)

I def (if wanted lol) need to draw her with some artificial wings after AF is over and I have more room to breathe because she was awesome to work with and like... Boa watched me, I saw Friedrike and suddenly she was on the paper next to my other work dunno how that happened why hello! 2022 Addon: I did design her artificial wings and u gonna see them eventually once I get further down the upload queue. I have one more WIP for Boa on my desk that goes in with the other works I did for her and then off to their owner <3

Smoll Tutorial ahead

It occurred to me that some of my art homies here might not know this after reading from @boafb how they would find a "classic" gallery on tumblr more accessible than scrolling through a blog. (this one is for u boa, but also everybody else of my fellow new tumblr users artist firends) You can absolutely do that, and more...

This is my tumblr archive, which I have set up to feature specific tags which you can use to filter for example just my artworks. I also have a link on my big blog specifically for the artwork archive for people who are more fond of galleries (like me)

So how to get there and for that matter how do we get fancy bigger blog?

Go to your settings, enable the custom template option and then go ham with the template. You have a default tumblr template at the beginning but you can easily find many great templates on tumblr to change the appearance of your blog. Here is a good link to start for templates:

Anyway now to the Archive - in the default tumblr template your Archive should be a clickable link (and most templates feature your archive per default) but you can also find it via your dash blog

Or simply type https://yourUsername.tumblr.com/archive

You can filter your archive by a lot of stuff which is neat but more importantly you can filter your archive by your most common tags and if you have a common art tag...

You can also set the tag options in you archive to only featured tags of your choosing, which is what I did in my Archive so you don't have my most used tags but only my relevant ones like my art tag or my text tag or my answer to ask tag. You can do that in your blog settings a bit below the "enable custom template" thing. There you can set featured tags if you wanna highlight some.

And if you're now like "oh no I did not use a shared tag for all my art/oc related/whatever posts" don't worry, there is a mega editor should be to the right side in the dash view of your blog (or https://www.tumblr.com/mega-editor/published/yourusername) , were you get hurled into archive view and can multi select and multi edit tags on your uploads, among other things.

Now go forth and have fun with some really nifty features because tumblr is dope af. hope that helps xd
