We're BACK, baby!
With TLOVM Season 3 confirmed for this fall, what better way to kick off the season than with some cozy fics, hot art and great vibes for our favorite couple?
Last year, we were ecstatic to see over 40 pieces of artwork and 90 fics pop up in response to our prompts - so we're delighted to return and host Perc'ahlia Week again! This is a fan-hosted event intended to celebrate all things about the pairing: delightful arrow gifts to handling politics as a married couple.
We want to make sure this environment is welcoming to show fans and safe for minors to dip their toes into fandom: as a result, we request that anything that might contain spoilers for TLOVM s3 and onwards be tagged #c1 spoilers. And, as steamy as Perc'ahlia can get, please remember to tag more suggestive works appropriately.
Tag any creations made for the event with #percahliaweek, or @ us here @percahliaweek, and we will reblog it. Or you can submit directly to the blog if you’d prefer!
We also have a Discord server - both to encourage eachother to work on WIPs and just hang out. You can find us HERE <3
Any questions? We have an FAQ up HERE - but please don’t hesitate to send in an ask!

Season 6 Trailer Breakdown
You all know what this is, although a quick note that I won't be drawing much from other teasers or clips released / a "this is what probs happens in each episode" amalgamation may come out later depending on motivation. There are some scenes I left out as 1) we know where those clips are from already (like the water funnelling shadowpaw clip) or they seem self explanatory (Karim and Sol Regem's plotline, etc).
Furthermore — there is one specific screencap with something I noticed that I'd argue is the biggest / most plot relevant spoiler in the trailer; I am enclosing it at the end for posterity. If you want to read the rest of the breakdown but want to avoid a potentially big spoiler, please stop reading after *** . I don't want anyone to be more spoiled than they'd like to be. Okay? Okay.
With that out of the way, let's dig in
First up: Kosmo's monologue overlaid with clips of the Starscraper and some kind of wintery storm. Kosmo is the male Skywing / celestial elf with vitiligo on the left in another shot
Kosmo: I see a thousand stars. A thousand eyes. Worlds one and myriad. All of us nothing, and all of us infinite.
This probably relates to his understanding of Star magic and possibly the arcanum itself. The wintery storm may be something from the past or present up here in the Frozen North, a lightning storm that Avizandum or Zubeia created, or it could even be from Callum pulling lightning down they face the large blue dragon we've seen in a few clips now (Luna Tenebris' "unsuitable" heir) and later on in the trailer.
Then we see Rayla, accompanied by Kosmo and Astrid, overseeing the beginning of Callum's trust fall 'trial' for lack of a better term with the blindfold over his eyes. It's clearly extremely cold and he doesn't seem particularly happy, but... willing participant, I suppose?
We're gonna come back to the staffs in a second, just you wait. To start, I want to affirm that there are multiple shots of this same location being unveiled, and make up the bulk of the Callum / Rayla + Starscraper portion of the trailer, such as these:
We see eight staff-holders, though it's not clear if one is missing. This could mean a 'Startouch' elf for each primal source + two others, or something unrelated to magic at all. There was "eight" singled out in the 5x08 poem ("eight in a line") though this is a circle, not a line.
The reason I highlight this is because 1) I've been confident that Viren's staff contained Star magic or extra power of some kind for years now and it seems that the answer is yes and (bonus points) it's not a quasar diamond, which also helps keep another theory of mine going and 2) we saw in the teaser some of the Viren-Kpp'Ar flashback fight scene, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were partially fighting over Viren taking the staff from Kpp'Ar, period.
Moving on, I'm speculating that the growing blast we see may be Aaravos (or another Startouch elf) being cast down to earth and creating the Sea of the Cast Out, given that Ripples describes it as, "The falling star plummeted, down and down and down, until it struck the breathless world below. With its impact came a long and terrible night: The earth bled! The seas churned! The sun and moon hid for weeks behind the sky’s screaming storm!" This may be what we've seen Aaravos weeping over additionally: not his own banishment per se, but the loss of someone else (Leola?).
the next main 'set piece' of the trailer is the big battle scene in the encroaching Sunfire civil war, and while there was speculation previously from a shot of Aanya and her arrow that she'd joined the fray, we now have confirmation. I am intrigued about what has Ezran being on the battlefield on foot without armour, weapons, or his usual dragon cavalry.
You can even see her in the background here on the stones, seemingly firing off her special flashy arrow in order to help Ezran get away from Karim's forces, which may be why he's caught up in the middle of things without a lot of preparation. This might be related to the closeup shot of her from this trailer with her bow and arrow, but given the nature of the arrow, it could easily be the other closeup shot of her with the fancy unfurling flower gemstone arrow we got in the Teaser.
For more individual shots:
Aaravos still has his chest piece in full and it doesn't seem like he's been expelled from the heavens yet. Looking very pointedly at my "his chest piece is out there somewhere and maybe in the cube as a quasar diamond" theory. I could see this being him on trial or something with the other Startouch elves
Then we have Rayla and some form of Runaan. He has red eyes like a corrupted Banther, but the green is completely base. This Runaan also doesn't have his canonically broken horn (just like Rayla's vision of him and her other parents in 5x01) so I'm willing to bet whatever this is is preying on Rayla's memory of Runaan > the actual Moonshadow elf himself. Could be a nightmare, or even some kind of illusion (maybe Luna's heir's moonstone collar has some messed up illusion stuff?). Rayla also seems to be underwater or in some kind of dark place, though the background for Runaan looks more fittingly like the Silvergrove. I certainly would not be opposed to Callum and Rayla having to face their worst nightmares, or something — stuff like that is always interesting angsty and juicy characterization.
Speaking of nightmares, that would also fit with this screencap of Callum. We know from 6x01 details that he has a nightmare regarding Aaravos, and we also know from people at cons that this screencap was not there. Looking at the scene itself, the deep purple lighting highlights that it's not quite 'real', nor is it necessarily possible due to the background being Finnegrin's office on the Sea Legs, where Callum last did dark magic. I could very easily see this being a dream where Callum is having horrifying visions of himself outside his body, and this is one.
I do find it interesting that, rather than black dark magic slug goop like I first thought on his hand, it's actually blood on his hand, and the changes this indicates of Callum's psyche / fears. Normally when Callum breaks things (primal stone, moon opal necklace, the green slug) it's with his other hand, for starters. But more importantly, I think it's interesting that this nightmare isn't about being flat out possessed, but of being more of a dark mage: the eyes, the corruption, the blood, etc. and how that may lead to Aaravos' will being further enforced over him. It speaks to a recognition of his own agency as well as growing fears of being not just controlled, but corrupted along the way.
Claudia on the beach probably after killing Sir Sparklepuff (hence the blood and corruption) having the worst mental breakdown of her life (which is saying something) so far, either upon realizing she's lost her father anyway, Viren being alive but leaving her, etc.
Then we have Callum the infamous Frozen Ship, now burning. Either he was in there with Rayla and escaped first, leading to him sadly thinking she's gone before she manages to get out on her own and they happily embrace... or he was vibing outside without her (by her request no doubt) and shit's hit the fan. I could see him mourning her and her reappearance is when they finally fully reconcile, and I could also see him running back onto a burning ship for her (or trying at least). Y'know, the way you do.
I am famously always here for Rayllum being desperate as fuck about each other's safety, so I know I'm gonna eat that shit up regardless and it will be Delicious.
Onto the less clear parts of the trailer, in some ways:
We have what seems to be Terry and Claudia presumably at the same place, the Valley of the Graves, back in Katolis, although for what reason is unknown. I could see them maybe coming back to Katolis to the Orphan Queen's grave, for some reason. I could also see the spell Claudia doing (hence the light hair and yellow on the chest) being a release spell for Aaravos — which asks when and how does she get the prison from Callum and co. — or some 'opening up the heavens' spell that'll come close to killing her; it could be something else entirely. It has to be something where Terry seems reluctant to let her go through with it and has probably tried to stop her (yes internal Terry turmoil!! Come back to me) and failed. I've kept meaning to make a post about it, but I could see Claudia post-6x01 come crawling back to Terry at Aaravos' beckoning ("He'll be a useful ally") and Terry realizing Claudia didn't come back to him out of love like he thought, but partially to use him because she's too far gone right now to see it and trying to keep her distance emotionally.
Which asks the question: we all thought this was maybe from the beginning of the season, with Viren or Claudia or something trying to get into Katolis. But what if it's closer to the end?
I posit this order of things for two reasons. The first is that we know in 6x01 Soren leaves to go look for Zubeia with Zym, reunites with Corvus at the Sunfire elves (6x02-ish?), Corvus and Ezran see Karim's forces at one point (the Teaser) with Zym helping Ez escape. We even have a shot of Soren leaving Katolis with Zym in the trailer.
The shot of Soren being bloody is clearly at Katolis on the battlements, so it seems that it has to be after the Sunfire battle has happened, and I doubt Janai and Amaya can win considering Sol Regem having his wings healed by the Sun seed, and it's S6 "everything goes wrong" time.
It could be that the Sunfire battle didn't end well (Karim as king or forces corrupted by Pharos-sleeper agent? Kim'Dael is free?) even with Aanya's help, and people have retreated to regroup in the stronghold that is Katolis... A stronghold that Claudia wants or needs to get to, for whatever reason. Soren would have good reason to look pissed. Maybe the big explosion from earlier on in the trailer is even just Claudia, making her presence known on her way into Katolis for some kind of scare-factor.
And, of course, Claudia could go to Katolis in the first half of the season (6x02—6x05) when bloodied and bruised Soren isn't there, and just Ezran in the rain. There could be some magical power-up, and then Ez has to flee and go to the Sunfire elves, the situation not much better. But this doesn't explain why we see Soren presumably at Katolis and looking as beat up as he does unless it's a shot from very near the end of the season.
And here's where we get to the Big Spoiler, imo, so please click away now if you don't want to see it!
Furthermore... we Know the Sunfire battle is happening near the End of the season (sometime 6x07 onwards) because there's no way Rayllum is leaving the Starscraper any earlier than the end of 6x06... and they're there, along with Astrid, at said battle.
Y'know this big shot of the Sunfire battle? Well, the trio is there in the upper red corner, when you zoom in.
There's Astrid (blue and white), Callum in between flapping his wings, and presumably Rayla with her borrowed wing bracelets from Kosmo (though I suppose it could just be Kosmo himself, but I doubt it). Why they're coming to the battle, I don't know — if Aaravos is out by this point, they might have bigger problems that they need to collect Ezran and co. for, and didn't realize the level of conflict had escalated — or somehow, we get through the Starscraper portion of the story without the prison breaking, though Callum is still presumably possessed (?) — and it is Claudia who releases Aaravos near the end of S6.
That could be possible, especially if Claudia, whose S6 plotline is a total mystery, comes sniffing around the Sunfire side of things and can steal the prison here and... take it back to Katolis because it needs to be? Orphan Queen had Aaravos' chest piece? Idk. But yeah, this is where things get kind of tricky, and if we did go this route I'd wonder why not let Claudia steal the pearl in 5x09 at all, but we'll have to see. It could work! My money is still on Callum possessed or otherwise having a hand in setting Aaravos free, but really anything could happen at this point
Just thirteen days to go!

Your First Kiss With Dick Grayson
Dick Grayson x Gender Neutral Reader
Summary:
The Titans have faced a lot together, but never something quite as troubling as the possible return of an inter-dimensional demon that shreds apart worlds and leaves nothing standing in its wake.
You hate to admit it, but even standing with your team - you're afraid. Dick tries his best to comfort you, but for once during his career as noble, selfless team leader - he takes a moment to be selfish, and does something that he has been avoiding doing for years.
Dick Grayson x Gender Neutral Reader. Childhood Friends to Lovers. Angst and Fluff. Set during Season 4, Episode 6.
Word Count: 2,900
DC Titans Masterlist | AO3 Link
Detailed warnings and author's notes below the cut.
Warnings: this one is a bit more on the angsty side; this fic features major spoilers for season 4 (and for the majority of the show) - so if you're watching it for the first time or you haven't seen it yet and you want to watch it spoiler free, then avoid this fic for now; the reader character is completely gender neutral - the only pronouns used for the reader are you/yours; the reader is one of the original Titans; the reader and Dick are childhood friends through the Justice League - the reader is the adoptive child of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (the reader is a talented marksman and trained in combat); the reader is mentioned to be an orphan (again, aren't all good superheroes); major pining from Dick - he has had a crush on the reader since they were kids (most of this is from his POV, so it's not specified if the reader has returned his feelings for just as long); mentions of canon character deaths; a lot of this is from Dick's POV so - warnings for Dick being emotionally constipated and referring to romantic feelings as a 'disease'; this is an AU where Dickkory never happened; mentions of canon violence - not described in graphic detail; mentions of the apocalypse/the world ending (and the anxiety this can cause); the reader is feeling extreme fear/anxiety due to the possible end of the world; technically - unresolved pining. I believe that's it.
A/N: The second part of the First Kiss series! I had a lot of fun with this one. This is the first really romantic fic I have written for Dick, and I enjoyed it so much omg. I was so tempted to write an enemies to lovers version with him, because he annoys me so much in the canon, and I feel like 'kissing in the middle of a heated argument' would work so well with his character - but maybe we'll save that one for Jason (or Hank, idk). instead, I went with emotionally constipated Dick Grayson, because that is sooo canon. he would not admit his feelings for someone if he had a gun to his head. and I had a lot of fun writing this mostly from his POV. I feel like he is such an interesting POV character to work with, so I might do more from him in the future. anyway, please enjoy!!
...
Stress.
There were few other words to describe the horrible feeling that was dense in the air around them.
Everyone was looking to Dick for answers, and unfortunately, he had none. Sebastian was missing, likely kidnapped by Mother Mayhem in order to complete a ritual that would likely mean the end of the world. Rachel had lost her powers and the Titans needed her unique form of magic now more than ever. Tim was impatient, annoyed because Dick wasn’t letting him use the minimal training that he had. But of course, Dick was hesitant to let the next would-be Robin off the bench after what had happened to Jason.
(Dick could barely bring himself to think about Jason these days.)
Kory was having difficulty controlling her newfound powers, and so was Gar. Which left the team weakened on all sides. Jinx was helpful on the magic front, but she was far from easy to control when it came to executing plans and corralling her rather wild personality.
And Dick didn’t even want to think about what was happening with Conner. He just had to pray that this whole shaved-head, Lex Luthor impression was part of his mourning for his would-be father, and hopefully - it would be temporary.
All of the chaos among the team left Dick leaning on you. As usual, you were likely the only person on the team who wasn’t experiencing any extreme drama. You were the only Titan with some true stability.
And you were the person on the team with the most experience. Even more than Dick himself. Beyond being part of the original Titans team that had helped to found The Tower, you had been trained under Oliver Queen, who was part of the Justice League as Green Arrow. Ollie had taken you on as his own child when your parents died and left him as your carer in their will. Naturally, early into your childhood, he had started training you in the art of combat and marksmanship - so you grew up with intense skill.
You and Dick met soon after he was adopted by Bruce. And much like Donna, you were a kind face and a wise voice that kept him mentally grounded well into adulthood. But you were also someone mischievous that made him smile; someone he could always turn to for a well timed laugh.
You always kept him sane.
And very much unlike Donna - soon after he met you, Dick started to develop feelings for you.
Of course, back then, it was just a silly crush. When he told Donna about it at the time, she laughed. And when he had hidden his face in embarrassment, she then told him that it was ‘cute’. She told him that you two would be good together when you got older. So naturally, Dick took her words as biblically concrete advice.
He decided that he should wait for you. That the two of you would be good together when you got older.
So he waited.
And he waited. And eventually - life got in the way.
He had a huge falling out with Bruce, things at the Tower went south. It was never the right time to tell you. How the hell could he tell his best friend that he had those big, terrifying feelings mounting inside of him, worsening each year like a disease?
It was never the right time to tell you because he was dodging disasters left and right and he needed you more as a friend than as a lover. He needed you as a brick wall to lean on. He needed you as that voice of common sense in his ear - the leader’s loyal first mate, giving him advice behind the curtain and keeping his head on straight.
He didn’t need to tell you about his awful, festering feelings and have you gone from his life too.
When Garth died, and then Jericho died and the Tower shuddered, it still didn't feel like the right time. Wounds were tender and even if you were never downright angry at him like everyone else was - you needed your space. Dick respected that.
That day, you stood at the mouth of the elevator, about to leave for Star City to go and lick your emotional wounds at Ollie’s for a while, and you looked at Dick with tears in your eyes - looked at him like you were waiting for him to say it. But it wasn’t the right time.
He still thought about you every single day when he was in Detroit. And then - he showed up at your door with a scared little girl, needing more advice, needing that brick wall again. It was only natural that when chaos found him, he needed your help.
He hated that your advice was to call in Dawn and Hank. He relied on you, and you relied on family. And he hated that they were waiting at your apartment, called against his will once he had left to do some more sleuthing.
But he found that you were right when he saw how Dawn bonded with Rachel, when Hank put up a vicious fight against those strangers who came to collect her in the name of her father.
Watching you get thrown off that roof sent Dick’s heart through his stomach. As he clung onto the rooftop with his fingers and the muscles of his arm burned, all he could think about was you. As you sputtered out blood and he cradled your head, unsure of how to help you, terror gripped him in a way that it never had before in his life, because he realized that he might actually lose the most important person in his life.
As you lay in the hospital, a set of machines barely keeping you alive, with Dawn loyally holding your hand in comfort and Hank seething to get revenge on the people who had hurt you - Dick ached with regret and not having told you.
Still, when you showed up at that house in Ohio, somehow magically awakened from your near death by Rachel's powers - Dick felt that it just wasn't the right time. He swallowed his regrets like ash in his mouth when he reunited with you, hugged you tight. He didn’t even consider telling you about his feelings to be on the radar of possibility.
When you came back to the Tower to help bring in Doctor Light - it just wasn't the right time. When you showed up in Gotham to help bring down Red Hood - it just wasn't the right time.
Even when Dick died and was brought back to life by some strange magical pit, a pool of waters that brought him dreams of a far off life with you - it still wasn’t the right time.
You were there to Dick's call, loyal and waiting, every single time. You looked at him with as much love and longing in your eyes as he needed (at least, according to Dawn and Donna you did) - but still, it never felt like the right time.
It never felt like the right time to destabilize his entire life by uprooting the one good friendship he had. It never felt like the right time to truly fuck things up with you.
Now, because of some cult that Dick believed to be long gone and a stupid blood ritual, the world was ending, and it still didn't feel like the right time.
He wasn't the son of a demon from another dimension, but he still felt cursed.
When Dick saw you slip out of the room, clearly trying to sneak away from the group, his stomach twisted with nerves. It was rare that you of all people cracked under the pressure. It was rare that you needed to escape from the madness for a breath. He mumbled an excuse to Kory and then chased after you, knowing that it wouldn't be hard to tell where he was truly going - but truthfully, he didn’t care.
He easily caught you in one of the late night deserted halls of STAR Labs.
The many glass walls overlooked the city - a collection of bright lights that made up Metropolis. Thousands of people that you never knew, that you had never met before. People that all seemed too important now as you contemplated their lives; thought about the fact that you might not be able to save them.
Dick saw the sickly look on your face, the glassy sheen of guilt in your eyes even from far off as you leaned on the polished titanium railing that separated the upper floors from the atrium. His footsteps echoed in the empty hall and you heard him approaching from far off. He made no effort to sneak up on you or conceal himself, not wanting to startle you when you were already in such a distressed state.
The minute you looked over your shoulder and saw him, your face broke from that dark, doomed frown into a haste smile, and you reached up to wipe away your tears, attempting to be subtle with that motion. You were trying to hide yourself from him.
Dick came to stand beside you, resisting the urge to pull you into his arms. He desperately wanted to shelter you away from any fear you might be feeling. Maybe it was selfish; wanting to hold you, wanting to protect you from anything in the world that could possibly harm you. Maybe it was downright idiotic - because realistically, he knew that couldn't protect you from this kind of harm. He couldn’t protect you from the world ending.
“Y/N-” Dick murmured your name gently, clutching a fist tightly by his side to resist the urge to reach out and soothe a hand over the trembling muscles of your jaw.
You were holding in a sob, and it came out as a harsh, sarcastic laugh instead.
“I know.” You said. “I know. You're doing that Team Leader Guy Thing.”
You tried to make it sound playful and joking, but with your voice wet and soaked with worry and fear, it came off as a pathetic bid to deflect.
Dick wasn’t sure how to reply. Because yes, he was doing that ‘Team Leader Guy Thing’. He was trying his best to, anyway.
“You're gonna ask ‘are you okay?’ and I'm gonna lie and say ‘I'm fine, boss. All good.’” You continued.
At least you were being straightforward about it being a lie.
Dick wished that he had something genuinely helpful to say, but his throat stalled with dryness and his chest ached at seeing you so distraught. It really wasn’t something that he was used to.
“I mean, it's not like it's the end of the world.” You let out another dry, sarcastic laugh.
Then, there was a moment of silence - a beat of realization as your chin quivered and more thick tears rimmed your eyes.
“It's - it's only the end of the world.” You spoke these words heavier, dropping any false laughter in your tone - it truly hit you. Any further jokes you could make left you.
Dick choked on his own tears when he heard the aborted sob in your chest - something that came out as a whimper when you reached up to clutch at your heart.
You were genuinely terrified. Terrified that the Titans wouldn’t be able to find a solution in time. Terrified that everyone was going to die. Not just the people you loved, but - everyone.
“Hey, come on.” Dick said, his leader instincts, his natural caring for you kicking in. “We've been through worse.”
Working with the Titans, you had been through a lot. Drug busts, battling against costumed psychopaths, the loss of a dear friend to a dangerous assassin. But you weren’t sure that you had been through something worse than this. Everything the Titans had been through had never affected the world on such a large scale.
“Have we?” You argued gently.
Perhaps not. Maybe the only time the team had been in such dire straits was the first time Trigon attempted to come to earth. But that had been when Rachel had been armed with her powers and had been prepared to take him down. But Dick wasn't going to voice those thoughts to you.
You waited in agony for him to say something, and your tears finally breached - rolling down your face in hot tracks, laying marks of the true fear you were feeling, laying it all bare for the first time. Dick knew that his own eyes reflected that same glossy hurt now, if only for the pain he felt in seeing you cry - something that was so incredibly rare over the time he had known you.
Dick reached out and gently cupped the side of your cheek, running his thumb across your face and wiping some of those tears away. You were so startled by the tenderness of the touch that you couldn't help but to let out a whimper, and you felt frozen as Dick spoke his next words.
“It's gonna be okay.” He told you, trying his hardest to sound confident in the words. “We're gonna get through this. I know we will.”
This time, unlike many before, you couldn't be inspired by his confidence.
“Have you - have you considered what happens if we don't?” Your voice barely reached above a whisper, barely daring to tempt fate with this possibility.
Honestly, Dick had not. In these kinds of situations, he didn't allow himself to focus too much on the negative. As the team leader, he did have to take all the possibilities into account. It was something he had to do in order to keep everyone safe. But if he focused too much on death and darkness, much like Bruce did, then he knew that paranoia would overtake him and his team would get caught in the crossfire.
He had to spend his time coming up with solutions to fix the problem rather than spending his time caught up in knots, worrying about what would happen if he fumbled and didn't actually fix things after all.
The literal end of the world? It just wasn't a possibility in this mind.
But right now, standing there, staring into your big eyes, glossed over with fear as you looked to him for answers - there was only one thing that Dick could think of.
And it was so incredibly selfish. It didn’t have anything to do with the team or being a good leader. It didn’t have anything to do with helping the others.
Dick brushed his thumb over your cheek again, an incredibly tentative touch that had your skin tingling. You let out a small sigh, and the world froze around you when he leaned in - slowly, moving toward you at a pace that more than gave you time to escape if you wanted to. But you found that you didn’t want to. You found his closeness to be an incredible comfort in these moments of mental chaos.
And so, he gently planted his lips on yours.
It should have come as a shock - your childhood best friend kissing you. But in that moment, it just felt right. All you could do was shut your eyes and lean into the kiss, reaching up to grip his wrist, keeping him close to you as you leaned into his smothering heat. His lips were surprisingly soft, and he tasted like coffee - using caffeine to keep himself awake for days, trying to marathon a solution against the impending doom.
His kiss was firm but so giving - a touch that easily swallowed you up with heat from the top of your head all the way down to your toes. It was a sensation that pushed out the rest of the world, smothered any worries about who or what might bring an end to it.
It was the most tender, but most wonderfully passionate kiss that you had ever experienced in your life.
When he pulled away, you sucked in a sharp breath, suddenly feeling incomplete without his lips on yours. The shock then began to set in, like pulling the knife from a stab wound and feeling the blood rush out of you freely. It created a dizzying mixture with the heat that was now boiling under your skin.
Why? Your brain screamed out as you stared at him. When? How long had he wanted to kiss you? How long had you been missing out on Dick Grayson?
Dick could see all those questions bubbling beneath your surface as the fear in your eyes shifted to confusion, and he finally decided to speak.
“I'm sorry.” He said quietly. “But if the world does end, I couldn't die without knowing what kissing you is like.”
“Dick-” You sighed, about to go on a long rant about how he could have done that years ago, about how he should have - and the end of the world was a shitty excuse.
But you abruptly cut off your own words when more footsteps squeaked down the hall - the rubber soles of sneakers scuffing against the polished floor.
Dick jumped away from you as though he had been burned, clearly wanting to keep the interaction private. Both of you tuned to see Gar approaching.
“Dick?” He posed. Gar had a look of confusion, clearly wondering if he should question what was going on between the two of you but swallowing it.
“Yeah?” Dick replied.
“Um - Conner's missing.” He announced this in a nervous, meek tone, not wanting to bring the team leader any more bad news.
“What?” Dick gaped.
There was no time to further discuss what Dick had said to you. With the end of the world in your hands, it easily fell to the back of your mind.

The theory behind Evangelyne’s father explained.
‼️SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4‼️
LEAVE AT THE WARNING IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE FIRST TWO EPISODES.
.
.
.
.
.
.
After waiting seven years for season 4, we have finally got the newest season of Wakfu, with two episodes coming every Friday on the Okoo app.
Given the fact that it takes a full week to wait for each pair of episodes from the newest season, this leaves us with enough time to theorize and create suspicions about new characters that have revealed themselves in the available episodes we have at the moment.
And it just so happens that we do already have a character that emits a strange atmosphere around them, besides the eliatrope goddess.
And the character I’m mentioning is none other than this man right here:
We first see him in the second episode of Season 4 and we initially get no context as to why he’s there until the end of the episode.
And after watching the last two minutes of the episode, we received some information about him that made us ask even more questions.
What we know:
1- He is a blind Cra.
2- He’s labelled as a monster by the guards and chief of his prison.
3- He’s also labelled as an assassin by the prison guards, implying that he had killed a very important person in the past.
4- He has excellent aim despite not having his sight (he was seen throwing a rock at a very precise angle which then hit one of the soldiers’ swords just as he was about to leave his prison).
5- He can wield and fight with a bow from what we’ve seen in one of the trailers.
6- According to the credits, this man’s name is “Madagaskan” (weird name but okay).
So given what we now have about this character, Madagaskan, people have suspected that he may have some kind of link to Evangelyne and could even be somehow related to her as a father.
Why the father theory could work:
1- He is a Cra. Since he has pointed ears and was seen fighting with a bow in one of the trailers, this confirms that he is a cra since cras are primarily known to fight with arrows and have distinctly pointed ears.
2- His precise aim is just as excellent as Eva’s.
3- While meditating, he heard Flopin’s voice of all people and then made a face when he heard Pin’s voice right after it.
4- Since he was meditating and listening to the Percedal’s family, he could have been overhearing them to keep watch on Evangelyne for whatever reason. So when he hears Pin’s voice, his face scrunches up a bit, almost like he was not pleased in the least to hear a new Iop in the family (it could be because he can sense that this specific baby isn’t a normal one like how Oropo has also felt how unusual he is).
5- Pin’s unusual atmosphere (that or the fact that Rasha is in him now) may have been the reason why Madagaskan had decided to leave his prison after all these years to finally face Evangelyne and her family.
On a personal note, I initially had speculated that this man could have been Evangelyne’s grandfather since he looks way too old to be her father in my opinion. But when I finally remembered that his name (again weird name cuz who the hell is named “Madagaskan”?) was not Flopin, I had given up on the possible theory that he was Eva’s grandfather due to the fact that in the Wakfu manga, Evangelyne’s grandfather is canonically named Flopin which is why Dally and Eva named their cra son after him.
Overall, I do believe that this theory can work but I do not think Madagaskan is in actuality Evangelyne’s father but rather someone related to her.
After all, it can’t be a coincidence if a cra was overhearing another very specific cra’s family and decided to intervene once he heard that same cra’s newest baby.
(EDIT: after taking a moment to think, I believe this man could also end up being Flopin’s mentor since, well, Elely and Pin have Goultard as a mentor while Flopin has his mom so that wouldn’t be a good balance. Which is why I think Madagaskan should be Flopin’s mentor! Flopin really needs some screentime and a moment to shine!)

I'm 10 and a half episodes into Young Justice (the TV show), and I feel like I should record my feelings for posterity's sake, so here we go (under the cut because it got too long 😅)
(Also I will be using superhero names for the most part since I don't want to look up how to spell Miss Martian or Aqualad's name)
Spoilers: I already know the Red Arrow thing. I'm also pretty confident I know Artemis's backstory. This doesn't bug me, because I love storytelling. A lot. So I keep looking at it from the writers' POV and it's honestly very fun. I also know a piece of Miss Martian's backstop, and the same as above applies
Investment in the characters: Honestly the show is doing a great job at this. So far it's had an episode focusing mainly on every character except Robin (who I'll talk about in a sec). The show is doing a lot of one episode character arcs (which is a great way to get you invested in the characters). Superboy and Superman both have obvious season character arcs going on, but the others have enough stuff that I'm confident they can do stuff with them
Robin: He is so competent in this, and I love it. Him being too competent to lead the team is both funny and adds another layer to both him and Aqualad. He actually hasn't had an episode really focused on him yet, just side plots. But this kind of works, since everyone knows Robin and there's less of a need to make sure people like him. (And this works. I didn't need to get as invested in Dick and Roy (and Bruce and Clark) since I'm already invested in their comic versions)
I also love that he hasn't revealed his identity yet. The little things about it (like in that episode the League of Shadows was trying to hack Wayne Enterprises). Especially with Artemis heading to Gotham Academy, I'm really hoping she has some fun interactions with Dick
Ships: Miss Martian/Superboy is pretty cute. I passively ship it. Just hoping they have real relationships with other members of the team. Kid Flash/Artemis (does she have a hero name?) is a bit more interesting. The amnesia episode did a good job selling it to me, as it shows they don’t necessarily hate each other at a basic level. Also I hate Kid Flash's crush on Miss Martian (or at least how he acts because of it), and rooting for another ship is the same as rooting for it to die. No real love triangle stuff for now, and hoping it stays that way. There's also the ship getting its own category:
JadeRoy: Starting very different from the comics (where they basically started as Enemy Lovers), but, uh, I Don't Care. I love this ship, both in comics and here. They're entirely enemies right now, but they've started to attach extra emotions to each other (not good ones, don't get me wrong, but they're singling each other out). And I know Lian will exist in this universe (thanks dc wiki), so I'm happily excited for Slow Burn (with the back of my mind preparing for disappointment, just in case). Not sure if this is going Enemies to Enemy Lovers or just straight up Enemies to Lovers (since it's a kids show they might give them a happy ending) but either way I'm down for it
(I'm actually horrible at watching shows in their entirety (instead of dropping them after a few episodes) , and the way I actually got myself to push forward and get invested was the knowledge that Cheshire appears in episode 6, and I really wanted to see her)
I'm super invested in the Superman/Superboy plotline. Also, Martian Manhunter giving Connor the last name Kent was just hilarious. The whole League is just like, "you will parent this kid, clark" and I love it. It's also got me thinking about how comic writers indirectly said Bruce wouldn't be great in this situation despite this version of him pushing for it, but that's an essay for another time (possibly never since it might involve reading Morrison!Talia which I desperately do not want to do 😭)
Speaking of Talia. I am dreading it. I know Damian’s just a cameo and it's a kids show, so it can't get as bad as the DCAU (knock on wood), but this is 2011. This is peak Morrison!Talia, and I do not want to see my favorite character's characterization get spit on
Moving on the nicer things, Batman is Peak Batman. He is a dad, and he’s trying his best, and they better not ruin him
The Light: I guess it makes sense that all these secret organizations are secretly all 1 secret organization, but I'm not quite invested yet. Also finding it hard to believe Ra's al Ghul would join an organization where he's not in charge
Also! I have figured out the usual formula. They start the episode with both a mission usually, and give one character a personal conflict. Things get to their worst at about the 16 minute mark, resolve at about 20/21 minutes, have a final scene with the team and a final final scene reveal the bad guys were actually part of the Light conspiracy thing. Honestly it's kind of comforting having a formula
Overall, pretty good. Can't say how quickly I'll watch it, or how often I'll post about it, but I'm going to keep watching it, which is pretty good, particularly for a kids show
Also if someone's reading this and really curious about what I think about something specific, feel free to send an ask, it'll be fun :)
#young justice#young justice tv#my ramblings#I don't know how to tag this#m'gann m'orzz#kaldur'ahm#oh that's how you spell their names thanks tagging system#dick grayson#roy harper#jade nguyen#jaderoy#conner kent#talia al ghul#bruce wayne#clark kent#supermartian#don't know the wally/artemis ship name

The Thundermans Return
All right, I've finally watched the movie and just like old times, I have to give my honest opinion.
But first things first. It's been 6 years since the finale was aired and I must say I was so excited when Kira shared on her Instagram account, that they were making a movie and she was executive producer.
Since there was practically nothing filmed back then, I thought it was going to be for teenagers or adults, just like the revival of iCarly or Zoey 102, but I was wrong.
After watching the trailer I realized it was for kids, just like the original show, which wasn't that big of a deal and I watched the movie two days after the day of its release on Paramount+ and here are my thoughts.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
The movie starts with the family saving Metroburg from a meteor shower, using every one of their powers, something Hank could've easily taken care of, but still, it was pretty cool though.
And I have to say, those suits were awesome. They remind me of those kind of tactical suits wore by a few characters from TV Shows like Arrow or Supergirl. It was good to see the whole cast together after one more time. Also, those who were kids back in the day, looked like different actors, after only 6 years.
But anyway. After that, the title rolls and the family gathers in the headquarters, ready to spend a family night, but all Phoebe wants is to keep saving the day and is implied that she and Max have been doing that for quite some time.
They find a crime in progres but instead of letting other supes to handle for that night, the twins force their family to go stop a villain from robbing a bank.
They all teleport to the crime scene but things don't go as they expected, and due to Pheobe's orders, they end up injuring one of the V-Team members, as the other two stop the villain and save the day.
I don't know know they lost control of the situation like that. 7 supes against 1 villain, that's just too much. This is something Max and Phoebe could've screwed up by themselves, but well.
Soon, President Kickbutt shows up to inform that due to the injuried hero, they are gonna be replaced by the V-Team as well as get kicked out of the Hero League, which brings them back to Hiddenville.
And this is when we learn that the Thunderman family have been working as the T-Force at Metroburg for solid 3 years, leaving their old lifestyle behind.
Now everyone try to fit in their old town again. Max goes to his lair and finds Dr. Colosso having a tiki party with his furry friends. They talk about what happened and then Phoebe shows up to speak to him and they both seem to agree on using their powers for good, to which Dr. Colosso just laughs at them.
Then we see that Nora has finally outgrown from wearing bows and she makes it very clear by lasering the one Barb was holding for her. Then she and Hank see that Chloe is getting ready to go to the park while carrying a skateboard. They're scared something might happen to her, but let her go anyway, which makes them feel useless parents.
See the pattern here?
In the meantime, Billy and Nora are now attending to Hiddenville High, which by the way, doesn't make Principal Bradford and his ponytail very happy.
It was refreshing to see Billy and Nora as teenagers. Just like Max and Phoebe at the beginning of season 1.
As for the twins, Phoebe meets with Cherry at Splatburger, hoping to find a job soon and Max on the other hand, meets there too with his friends from the band, for old times' sake.
It was really cool to see all these funny characters once again. I had a lot of memories from "Never Friending Story", "Parents Just Don't Thunderstand" or "Exit Stage Theft".
At the same time, we see the V-Team is visiting Metroburg Superjail and we find out that they're actually a group of supervillains posing as heroes; the children of King Crab, Strongdor, and Dark Mayhem.
Their plan is simple: create an army of supervillains with a secret object hidden by the Hero League. The old guys had a plan that only boomers would understand, but is discarted immediately.
Later, Max and Phoebe are still trying to get back in the Hero League as the Tree Force, but then realize that their family doesn't want to fight crime anymore, so they're alone with this.
And man, this is always funny. I always liked all those jokes involving Max and Phoebe wearing costumes or disguises to go unnoticed. Not to mention that dweeb thing at the end of the scene xD
So much memories!
Then, back Max's lair Dr. Colosso helps Max to find out who the V-Team members really are, as Phoebe does the same by herself. Now both of them are aware that the V-Team is a group of villains.
And this is when Pheebs finally suits up as Thundergirl to go stop the bad guys alone. I wonder why they used the old suit, instead of the one with the skirt.
Who am I fooling? She looks good with both.
Back in Hidennville High, Nora and Billy are trying their best to make new friends and they only succeed the moment they start showing off their powers in front of everyone.
Leading to a small arguing between them, that ends with a tragedy for Bradford.
Meanwhile in Metroburg, the V-Team is desperately looking for the object they need. Then we learn that Dark Mayhem Jr. has the same sadistic habit Nora has; to laser poeple willy-nilly, ever since he was a kid.
Then Phoebe shows up, trying to enter by force in their old headquarters and stop all of them, but Max surprises her from behind and drags her back to hide from the villains, while watching them closely.
However, at some point they screw it up and get caught by the V-Team.
Back in Hiddenville, Hank and Barb are still worried about Chloe hanging out at the park with some new friends, so they ask uncle Blobbin a helicopter to go take care of her from the sky.
I never was a fan of uncle Blobbin, but it was cool this character was included for a small scene.
And yeah, looks like Hank and Barb are going throught the same crisis they went, when Max and Phoebe decided to celebrate their birthday by throwing a party at Wong's Pizza Palace. Their victims back then were Billy and Nora, now is young Chloe.
Anyway, they have a little accident (thanks to Cherry) and the helicopter crashes on the park. The two of them are fine, but all this makes Chloe realize that they've been spying on her all along and gets mad at them.
At the same time, Max and Phoebe are being interrogated by the V-Team, tied up with their own capes. I wish they were shown losing a fight against the villains at least, because it is implied that's what happened off screen. Just saying.
To me, there's no way they could've lost a fight against those villains, not with their multiple powers. Frozen by freeze breath, knocked out agains a wall with telekinesis, electrically shocked with the twin power, etc. And these are only non-letal options, but anyway.
Their goal is to get the Acacía Fantasticus, a very rare plant that can give people superpowers, either good (blue) or evil (red).
They mention that people from the past known for demonstrating superpowers had eaten the seeds of this plant, which is interesting, since they're finally revealing the origin of superpowers in the Thundermans world.
However, the way is gonna be presented seems like a terrible idea, but I'll talk about it later.
Since the twins don't have any idea where the power plant is, they're taken to Mayhem café, Dark Mayhem's old lair with a special booth perfectly designed to torture every member of the Thundermans family.
They activate it, and this is when the Thundertwins die horribly ☹️
Nah, I'm joking 🤣
I'm gonna have to leave it here, since Tumblr has a new limit of 30 pictures per post, so here's the end of Part 1.
Stay tunned for Part 2.

Lifesteal Season 6, Week 15 Update
So. This has been an eventful week. This recap is accurate up to the 21st of October, as usual Lifesteal members should be blocked but just in case please DNI, and major spoilers under the read-more.
The End of Zam's Pacifism
Early this week (15th Oct), Zam had another moment of crisis over his pacifism.
He debated trying to chunkban Wemmbu but decided against it.
While flying around spawn, he accidentally came across Derapchu banning Midmysticx off the server (a result of her selling enough Makeship plushies).
Derapchu told Zam that he did this because there were "no repercussions".
Those two words changed Zam's outlook on pacifism completely.
He then fought Wemmbu and Flamefrags with Mapicc and Spoke, and lost, with Mapicc and Spoke dying, but Zam was still happy.
After, he told Poafa about how Minute's words to him in Season 5 (about s3!Zam being Minute's inspiration for heroism) had influenced a lot of his current Lifesteal arc.
Zam rewrote his oath to prioritise protecting innocents, and is now willing to fight and kill players who hurt the server or innocents.
Later in the week, he decided to build an arrow cannon to hopefully kill Wemmbu in the session, and Poafa agreed to fire it.
California Girls
On the 17th of October, Bacon decided he wanted to betray Wemmbu for killing Planet.
After debating for a while, he told Kaboodle, who agreed to help him trap Wemmbu.
Zam is also aware of Bacon's thoughts on Wemmbu, and also the fact Bacon doesn't trust Kab.
Kab was concerned Wemmbu might kill them in revenge, and Bacon agreed that it's likely, but he won't spare too much effort on killing them, so they'll probably be fine.
Kaboodle
As part of her scheme to get closer to Woogie, Kab has been building an IKEA to prove her peacefulness. (This has led to her being jumped by Mane last week - I forgot to put this in the recap)
The day before the session, they met with Woogie at his tower and told him to get Reddoons online to duel them, otherwise she will destroy everything he loves, starting with blowing up one floor of his tower for every day Reddoon's doesn't log on.
Zam and Squiddo were secretly listening to this, although it is uncertain if Squiddo is secretly working with Kab.
Kab is apparently aware that Zam has been watching some of her conversations with Woogie, as someone was "watching him" too. This made Zam suspect if he can't trust Bacon, or if they are secretly working with Manepear.
After Kaboodle left, Zam and Woogie talked, revealing Redd was planning to get banned during in the duel but withdrawing all bar one of his hearts.
After, Squiddo and Kaboodle talked, with Squiddo accidentally revealing they'd been giving Kab ideas for dealing with Mane.
“If the only language that Mane knows how to speak is violence, then I’ll start learning it”
Kaboodle is going to place "landmines" everywhere to mess with him.
October 19th Session
The sessions started with Zam and Pangi afraid Clown was about to go on a killing spree, as earlier that day Clown had lost five hearts in punishment for combat-logging in Rekrap's trap (see Rek's most recent video)
Reddoons refused to fight anywhere but the top of Woogie's tower, and eventually Kab agreed to it. The plan was to have Hannah and Clown nearby in invis in case anything went wrong.
Originally, Kab was going to have Hannah fight Redd, but after finding out he was on one heart she agreed to fight him.
Kab was also untrusting of Hannah during this, as Hannah didn't give them a screenshot of Redd being on one heart, and expressed their doubts to Clown while Hannah was deafened.
Zam tried to watch the Redd vs Kab duel but missed it as he ate a chorus fruit that teleported him to the bottom of the tower.
The duel took place and Kab killed Redd in one hit, banning him.
Immediately, Subz logged on in the tower and started attacking her.
Clown killed Subz, then Flamefrags, Manepear and Pentar appeared and attacked Clown (wanting the mace).
Kab jumped in and hit Mane off Clown, getting Mane's attention on her and allowing Clown to escape.
Bacon and Kab then died to Mane, and Leo, who was also at the tower (and on three hearts), fell from the tower and died.
The Empire and the Blindfold Brothers then had a fight at spawn, with Leo asking to join the fight alongside the Empire.
During the fight, Flame killed Leo, then Mane killed him again, banning him off the server.
This upset Zam, who joined the fight to buy the Empire time to escape, then hid until the Blindfold Brothers left.
While Zam was talking to Pangi, Minute was killed by Mane (we later found out the Blindfold Brothers knew the Empire's base location and ambushed him).
While speaking to the Empire later, the server crashed with really bad lag, and time reversed a couple of minutes, leaving them all in their original locations.
This unfortunately put Minute back in the Empire base with the Blindfold Brothers and no gear. They killed him again.
These events made Zam doubt the efficiacy of his new morals.
As this was ongoing, the California Girls team (minus Wemmbu, who didn't log on) read Reddoon's eulogy, a book he left her.
Kab feels like killing Redd was a false victory, but nonetheless she trusts Hannah and Bacon more than anyone else on the server other than Clown.
They also said they don't regret getting killed for Clown, as his life is more important than their own.
Time Travel Plans
On the 20th October, Zam revealed he, Mapicc and Spoke have a tenuous plan involving abusing the time-travel glitch that the lag during the session caused to give them an advantage against their enemies.
Zam is considering using this technique to basically dupe a revival beacon, as there is no way he can get the materials to revive all three banned players (Reddoons, Leowook, Midmysticx).
He told Mapicc about this plan, who was hesitant because of the potential to dupe hearts, and Spoke would possibly want to exploit that.
When the trio attempted to test the glitch, Mapicc considered telling Minute what they were doing, as the PMC betrayal was caused by a lack of communication.
Mapicc was originally anti-duping because of his status as a server admin, but then changed his mind, with the condition they keep it secret who has been reviving people.

ON A PLAIN. TWD S6. [snippet]
ON A PLAIN - NIRVANA
TWD + Dixon!Reader [SEASON 6 E8 SPOILERS]
The grip on her dad’s waist loosened as they slowed down in the forest. Blinking to clear her vision, Kit realized she was weaker than she expected…more tired than she knew.
“Going down—Bailing—” She said, sliding off of the motorcycle and onto the woodland ground. THUMP.
“Kit, Jesus Christ!” Both of them were out of breath as Daryl joined her in the dirt.
“Dad, Jesus Christ.” Drawled from her mouth in mockery and he scoffed playfully. A growl next to them made them both jump and shriek quietly, but the helmet on the walker showed they were just fine lazing on the ground.
On their feet a few minutes later, Kit saw her dad wince and the crimson gushing out of his glove. She sighed, grabbing the pack strapped to back of her belt. Daryl tried, muttering and cussing to get the jacket off, and he did. Seeing the extent of his wound made her a little relieved, nothing but a gnarly scratch. Kit watched as the small bottle of alcohol contents dripped down his forearm and she bandaged it wet. Not the smartest idea, but shit, they didn’t have much of a choice.
“Jus’ fer now.” Afterward, they covered the bike in broken branches and leaves, knowing they couldn’t travel far right now. Hearing the familiar sound of a branch snap, Daryl motioned upward, for Kit to get in a tree as he stood guard with his crossbow. She twisted her pointer and middle fingers around each other at him, signaling: I’ll track you, promise. Her hands dragged her higher and higher in the tree, making barely any noise as she heard a solid THUNK. Her eyes looked down to see her dad unconscious and carried by a man, and two women. Welp, looks like tonight will be spent in a tree.
WHAT THE HELL AM I TRYING TO SAY?
The group heard a crack of tree bark and Kit swore more than a drunken sailor in her head. She held her breath, trying to blend into the branch she was balanced on. At dawn, she started tracking the people who nabbed her dad before dusk the day before. Not that she needed breadcrumbs, but Daryl stepped harder into the ground that he normally would, once he was awake. The others weren't exactly smart enough to be light on their feet. He, Dwight, switched his head back to Daryl, readjusting his aim with the handgun.
“You tell me, am I being stupid?” FWIP. An arrow shot and knocked the gun from his hand, and he stiffened, they all did. Kit dropped below from a tree, leaves crunching under her dirt crusted boots. Her next arrow aimed right at his forehead:
“Yea, if you think you gon’ shoot him n’ stay livin’ afterward.” He raised his hands up, the women following suit after him, Kit dropped her bow and arrow, fashioning the machete from her thigh holster.
“You really think some girl like you can take on us?” The shake in his voice made her tip the machete onto his neck, she pushed a little and he winced. Her hand swiped the bowie knife from her hip and handed it to her dad behind her back,
“Bitch, I’ve skinned rabbits wit bigger balls tha’ you.” Daryl went and swiped the gun from the ground next to him. The two women were shaking like two autumn leaves and Kit felt bad for them, and how naïve they were, at this moment.
“Yer gonna take us t’ where we can find this Patty. Move it.”
I LOVE MYSELF, BETTER THAN YOU.
Pulling the crossbow out of the duffel, Kit had already thrown a knife straight into the skull. She huffed, pulling her weapon out of the bone and looked back to see her dad staring blankly at the duffel.
The woman, Tina, had collapsed and the Dixon duo saw the opportunity. Daryl grabbed the handle of the large duffel, and grabbed Kit's forearm, sprinting out of the open area.
"HEY! WE NEED THAT!"
She saw a cooler with the label of “INSULIN – keep cool” on it and pinched between her eyes.
“Fucks sake, man.”
The duffel bag was swung over Kit’s shoulder, machete in hand as they stalked to finally track and find the group of three.
“Drop the gun, drop it now!” Daryl ordered, lining up his arrow with his head as precaution. Lowering the gun, Kit held out her hand and said nothing. This man knew what to do either way and placed the gun in the young woman’s hand swiftly.
“What were you carvin’ earlier, huh?” Slowly reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a little statue wood carving.
“My grandfather taught me, I—”
“We don’ care.” Snatching it from him, Kit threw down the duffel bag full of medicine, and two finger saluted them.
“Good luck, yer gon’ need it.” The rumble of a vehicle approaching made Daryl grab Kit’s denim vest and yank her to the ground. Oh, c’mon. The back-and-forth conversation by the people in the car and the trio they just found made a pit form in Kit’s stomach. Something about their tone reminded her on the Claimers. Next thing she knew, they were booking it through the woods.
Oh look, it’s like this is every fucking day.
Shuffling behind a cage made of thick branches, Daryl and Kit broke off from the trio. They spotted a walker stuck, slightly covered by the greenery, but enough to cause damage to anyone who got close. Daryl went forward, rustling the branches in front of them to draw the guy’s attention, and booyah, the fucker got bit.
“Wade! I’ve been bit, Wade!” If he isn’t killed soon, another fucking herd of walkers will hear him. The guy, Wade, she assumed appeared next to him, seeing the bite on his arm. He wraps something around the dude’s upper arm, and Kit is reminded instantly of Merle.
“Ah, don’t hurt tha’ bad, honey. Can’t be a bitch, n’ order t’ go through wit it!” Shaking her head as the piercing scream and the SHING of a blade echoed through the woods. As they retreated so did the Dixon’s and the trio. They followed them to a charred down house, skeptical but still wanting to know who they were. One of the women, Tina, broke down seeing two of the people she knew, dead and burnt on the ground surrounded by glass.
Kit stood a few feet away from her, constantly eyeing her dad and the other man. A shout broke her away from her gaze and the walker broke out, gnawing on Tina’s throat.
“Shit!” She yelled, chucking herself to the ground and slashed the walker across the brain. Blood shot up into her eyes and she grimaced at the well-known feeling. Honey threw herself at Tina’s body as Kit rolled to her side, away from them and exhaled through her teeth noisily.
“Can’t ever be peaceful, huh?” She muttered as Daryl lifted her to her feet, hearing Honey sob behind them. Daryl was helping the man dig Tina’s grave as Kit sat on her ass, hand on her machete, while the other had two knives nestles between her fingers. He caught his kid’s eye, and she held up three fingers to him:
“How many walkers have you killed?” “A lot…two dozen at the least.” “How many people have you killed?” “None?” “Why?” “Why didn’t I kill someone? It’s not something you come back from.” Kit scoffed at that.
Daryl eventually convinced them to come to Alexandria, Kit could laugh at how Aaron had made him still take up the job in this circumstance. She followed behind her dad, machete at her side as she helped him lift up the motorcycle. They both heard a click behind their backs. Kit struggled not to audibly groan.
God, we can’t have shit in D.C.
The Dixon’s merely turned around, unfazed by their threat. Kit glaring at the two, but mainly Dwight in front of them, holding the gun.
“Give her the crossbow, machete, bow and arrows.” Neither of them moved. The man shifted his gun to Kit’s head and Daryl flinched,
“Give her the weapons or she dies.” The young woman, covered in dirt, oil, human and walker blood almost burst out cackling.
“Honey, it’s kill, or be killed.” Merle’s voice echoed in her ear, seeing him leant up against a tree trunk in the distance behind the barrel of the gun.
“An’ the only thing that kills a Dixon, is a Dixon, missy.” A gunshot rang out next to Kit’s head and Merle disappeared from her view. Both of them barely moved at the action and the noise that followed. A hand swiped a pistol from under their shirt. BANG. BANG.
Kit shot them both, point blank, in the head. Daryl stood still, taking a moment to look at his daughter.
I KNOW IT’S WRONG, SO WHAT SHOULD I DO?
“Kit—”
“Tha’ walker wit the helmet…gotta be another ride ‘round here. Gotta find Abraham n’ Sasha.” She motioned with her head to follow, spit on the ground and shuffled past him and the bodies she just shot.
That walker on the ground was still moving, moaning and growling, the thing was practically a black skeleton and had more life than Kit felt she had. Her boots stepped on something that made a metallic CLANG, she scuffed her boot on it, then reached down to wipe the dirt off.
“Patty’s Fuel Company…Found ‘em.” A silent trek later, the duo scored a massive truck. No walker booby traps, or bullshit strings attached to it. Before Kit opened the driver’s door, Daryl grabbed her shoulder.
“Kit—”
“‘M fine.”
“Kit, you just—”
“They’d ‘ave killed us both. We can’t be takin’ chances. Not anymore, not after we give 'em a choice too.” Whipping her arm out of his hold, she threw open the door, seeing the dead driver try to claw at her. Daryl barged in front of her and drove his knife in its head. They met eyes and Daryl motioned for her to get in the truck, she hopped up and slid over, taking her pistol in her hand as she looked out the windshield. There was un-needed tension between the father and daughter, and it softened when they were on the road and Kit pulled a pen out of her inner jacket pocket. Clicking it, she opened the side of her vest:
I I
The tally marks laid next to a dozen other tallies on the denim inside. Kit sighed heavily through her nose, clicking the pen and shoving it back in the pocket. Daryl caught her movements and breathed through his teeth,
“You ain’t gonna turn cold on me, Kit?” You ain’t gonna shut down on me, right? You ain’t gonna stop in the middle of the end of the world, Kit?
“No, sir.” Kit smacked her thigh with her fist a few times, her face twitched as she fiddled with the pistol. She swiped at the edge of her nose.
“Ain’t never gonna switch up on you.”
I’M ON A PLAIN, I CAN’T COMPLAIN.
“Daryl.” “Dad.” “I see ‘em.” Kit furrowed her eyebrows, holding up her pistol at the people in the road, blocking them.
“End o’ the world, n’ there’s fuckin’ biker gangs still?” Abraham chuckled at her statement,
“What in the holy shit?” The car pulled to a halt, brakes squeaking, and Kit felt sweat run down the back of her neck.
“Why don’t you come out? Join us in the road?” Nobody could hear a pin drop in the truck as the hum of the engine filled the space.
“If you wanna try something, it’s your choice. But we will end your asses, split you right in two, so c’mon.” The man waved his hand, beckoning them to come out.
“Dad just run him over.” Kit muttered, barely moving her lips as she stared forward through the dirty windshield.
“Can’t.” Kit blinked a few times, trying to understand the fuckin’ shit show day she’s had, that kept getting better n’ better. Abraham and Daryl opened the car doors, Sasha and Kit shuffling out on their respective sides:
“I already killed 2 people today, what’s a couple more?” She whispered, tucking her gun into her belt, but placed her palm around the handle of her machete.
“Alright! Step two and turn in your weapons?” Nah, you buggin’. Daryl now furrowed his brows,
“Why should we?”
“They don’t belong to you?”
“What?” “What?” Seethed out Abraham and Kit in sync her shoulder tensing.
“See…your weapons, your truck, the fuel, mints in the compartment, porn under the seats, the seats themselves, the little stash of napkins on the dash…they’re no longer yours.”
“Who’s are they?” Sasha questioned darkly.
“Your property, now belongs to, Negan.”
I’M ON A PLAIN, I CAN’T COMPLAIN.

I was thinking because Jack is only in a tiny bit of Season 6 Maybe Jack and Eva could go to Arrow House, and the scene with Tommy, Mosley and Diana plays out, and it goes on from there with whatever you have in mind! x
Thanks I had too much fun with this lol
spoilers for National Anthem, will likely become a chapter in it.
Eva x Jack
cw:mentions of drugs, cheating, death, hauntings, one use of a slur and child death.

A Change of Course
The house is dark and somber, not at all how theirs is.
The décor was impeccable, the contrast of the pale ceiling and its devotion to the memory of a woman who haunted the man who killed her giving it the same coldness of a mausoleum.
There is no life here, not after the only thread of light in its mistress’ life cut short by the curse that is her husband.
Shelby who couldn’t get his head out of his ass and just be there for their daughter’s last moments.
Elizabeth Shelby had already packed her things; she just needs a reason to take her stepson ---who’s own mother killed by the curse he has inherited--- and run.
And tonight, she will get it.
“Oh, no, Gina's running wild, y'see. Harrods, dоpе, amphetamines, lords and ladies, you know, the whole English aristocracy thing. Fսck wine --- whiskey. Shelby, you havin’ whiskey?” After that little adventure torturing the informant, Jack is as if he’d taken a hit of the opium they are dealing.
The man had been wild, alive like he hasn’t been since Atlantic City. There had been blood on his hands when he returned to the hotel and neither had cared about the state they left the dining room in their suite after.
“I'll stay on wine.” Shelby does not drink, doesn’t eat nor do anything than sit there with his guilt and pain as if he wasn’t the architect of his own misery.
Eva’s let Jack do most of the talking and once they cleared the table of dessert and brought out more wine, she took the opportunity to observe and see what she can use for later when the two interlopers kick the box from under Shelby and watch him choke by the noose he made with their help.
“Fuck wine, more whiskey. I'm celebrating. Celebration, you know. Getting off this fucking island.” Jack has never been known for his sensitivity to others. Only cared for what was his and the rest can get fucked for all he cared.
He saw himself in Shelby, but Shelby fell short of his expectations. What man leaves his dying child in search of a fantasy he made in his head?
There had never been a curse, just lies he paid others to tell him so he could absolve himself over the curse that befall on Grace because he married her.
Ruby’s death was not magic, not a curse no matter how much it looked like it was. Just a disease caught from a playmate at the Christmas Pantomime her daddy was too busy to be at.
“You see, the thing with England, the currency here, it's not money. Nah. You got bored of money a long time ago. ‘Cos you know anyone can have money; you can fucking... you can fսcking find money in the mud. You can forge money. Mr. Shelby, you can steal money, am I right?” Jack goes on his tirade against the symbolism of wine and the upper class.
He cared about the working class, about reforms and yet his fortune is made by trampling over everyone else.
Jack’s money and power were earned in equal parts ambition and spite.
“The currency here, it's blood. And Mr. Shelby knows that better than all of them. Blood here is like wine, like the vintage wine in that bottle. It's the label, it's the terroir, it's the grape that makes the wine. Who fսcking cares about the glass around it?
And you, my friend, you're an American.”
At these words, Lizzie seems to perk up. She is a woman everyone underestimated because of who she used to be. As if the blue bloods didn’t have whores who did it for money like she had to.
“You fսcking smash the glass, you spill the blood, and you spend their currency to get what you want. Am I right?
When you come to America, I will show you things.” Jack knows the wife hasn’t been made aware of the deal. Unaware of what is waiting for him in Miquelon Island.
“You’re going to America?”
“To Canada, Lizzie, to collect payment for the shipment. I need to do it myself.” Shelby couldn’t trust anyone after Grace fucked him up in ’19. Not Grace, not Lizzie, not anyone.
He used to trust Lizzie, but now that he thinks he’s dying he knows he cannot trust her not to let him die and make this cold tomb home to another ghost.
“And who will be going with you?” the grieving mother asked, knowing why he goes.
He craves death, Shelby has always wanted to die. All his victories were hollow, the melancholia never left no matter how much he pretends it has.
Not Grace, not Lizzie, no one could cure it because people aren’t cures. No one told Shelby that and now a little girl is dead.
But he won’t find death. Just the knowledge that the King of the New World won’t let him die as punishment for his sins.
It’s easy to die, nothing worse than being forced to go on living and redeem yourself when everyone you love hates you.
“Michael will be there to watch his back.” Jack knows damn well what he’s doing. He hates Tommy for the part he played in Clive’s death years ago. Clive who had been his only real friend in Harvard where everyone hated him for being him.
“Another journey, Tommy?” Lizzie begs him to reconsider with her question.
Lizzie was more than capable of running the legal businesses with them and King Solomons’ heir had always been in their pocket.
But Shelby wouldn't be given his eternal rewards until the second great war ends in 1945.
“Five million, Mrs. Shelby. It’s worth a little cruise, don’t you think?” It was personal. Jack didn’t give a rat’s ass about Michael; this was his way of avenging Clive MacMillan.
“You know whiskey does talk, Mr. Nelson, and sometimes whiskey is…very eloquent, but five million, Mr. Nelson… Now, that is a legacy. And when I come back, I will know everything.” Shelby finally speaks, knowing Michael will be the one to come home in a box.
Shelby like Jack won’t die until old age comes for them. Jack knows that this was not about killing him. The soul is already dead, there was no need to kill the body.
“I see myself so clearly in you, Thomas Shelby. You are a man with a bright and glittering future.”
They needed him for the hell to come, unfortunately.
When the Butler came to bring the news, the dreaded visitors had arrived, Eva hid her relief at the real show finally starting.
“We were on our way to my constituency in Smethwick and I heard our American friend was in Birmingham and that he was coming here, so we came to say one last farewell.
“Champagne,” He orders as if Shelby was his servant as they are shown in. “We have much to celebrate.”
“It isn't that I wasn't sure Mr. Shelby would give you an excellent send-off, I just felt, since telegrams and wires and letters can so easily be intercepted, we might confirm all that we've achieved during your visit over champagne.” Mosley waltzes in like he owns the place and seats himself across from her and beside Mrs. Shelby.
His equally repugnant fiancé hides her distaste at having to sit beside Eva but doesn’t refrain from making this about her. “It is remarkable how quickly our relationships have developed. So many triangles in this room. Everyone except from Mr. and Mrs. Nelson are the point of a triangle.”
“How am I part of a triangle?” Lizzie’s question is heard and yet Mosely tries to divert the attention from this juicy reveal by talking of business with her husband.
Eva has made it a point to show how little she cares for Diana Mitford and her husband knowing they cannot afford to lose Jack’s backing. If they knew they were being played by both gangsters here, they wouldn’t be so bold as to have even shown up.
Jack’s buzzed enough to let her interruption slide, but those two fuckers will regret meeting her for the rest of their lives.
“She hounded your husband into fucking her after your daughter died, chased him until he gave up and gave her what she cannot get at home. The witch answered the woman who suffers more than Christ and made sure to give Lizzie Shelby the chance to humiliate the woman who fucked her husband. “If Sir Oswald cannot satisfy a woman, something you and my husband’s niece can confirm, then he does not have what it takes to take on the world. Wouldn’t you agree, Mrs. Shelby?”
Oswald clears his throat, hides his humiliation as best as he can but his embarrassment is blood in the water and Eva might as well be the shark that ends him. She would love to, but his cause doesn’t need a martyr.
Elizabeth Shelby, agrees with her words and leaves now that she has no fucking reason to stay in the tomb with her ghost of a husband. She knows now why he betrayed like that, but its too little and too late. Eva will enjoy being friends with the woman, maybe introduce her to a man who will love her as she deserves.
She deserved better, someone like her cousin, Santiago, a man who can make her past disappear and not give a damn about who she was before him.
“My wife, y’see, believes the state of a man’s family says everything about him and I trust her judgment over anyone else’s, ‘cos my Evie the future. Not those frauds like the ones Houdini exposes, but the real. Fucking. Thing.” Jack takes the mask off and revels in making the English aristocrats squirm. “And if she says you and your people are full of shit ‘cos your wife has to go around begging Shelby here for a good time, then I know not to waste my time with the likes of you.
Do you remember what I told you when we first met, Shelby?” Jack turns to the host with a smile that Mosley won’t ever forget.
“The last thing you want is to get gipped.” Shelby nods and repeats the words that made him regret every second with Grace. If he had not been so foolish, Grace would be alive today.
“I wasn’t lying when I said I see myself in you, Mr. Shelby, and if you want to get as far as we both know we will get, you gotta cut these fuckers lose before they drag you down with them.” Jack ended this charade with a puff of his cigar and relished the destruction of the man who thinks people like them must die. “Oh, and by the way, my niece mentioned something about a cancer scheme. Some crazy bullshit about how you are worth more dead than alive. If I were you, I’d show them how two Catholic Boys like us got where we are.”
Mosely and his woman do not linger after, taking their leave like good little aristocrats and yet humiliated to hell and back. They don’t even know he’s about to lose his seat, nor how they will die a shit stain in the footnote of history.
“And here I thought you wanted me dead too.” Shelby’s life lies in tatters and yet they have the last laugh.
“There is no fun to killing the body when the soul is already dead.” The witch shrugged and called for a toast. “To the two weeks that have changes the course of history.”

You can find us HERE<3

Going Forward by Voltaire63 Summary: One shot. Next scene in Last Train To Kingston, 709.
As I was losing him - Murdoch Ahoy by Natmuread Summary: Julia's point of view of William drowning in Murdoch Ahoy (season 7). Don't read if you haven't seen that episode. ONE SHOT.

Home Again Soon by TheLastSaskDragonRider Summary: Watts is kidnapped. (takes place between season 13/14, no season 14 spoilers)
It's Not Time by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Spoilers from 16x11, "D.O.A." (the black and white film noir episode). Missing scenes as Murdoch recovers from a nasty poison.
we're going down (six underground) by fluffier432 Summary: It had been a number of days already (George had lost count just how many), and he was no closer to escaping the clutch of his kidnapper. Maybe slightly, if his healing foot counted, but that wouldn’t be much use if he couldn’t unlock the front door to run away. Even if he could pick the lock, there would be no time before Amelia caught up to him, and that would only be if he could get past her in the first place. She had him seated at the desk, not tied down as she believed his foot still could not bear his weight (and it nearly couldn’t), as she lay on the bed between him and the bedroom door. Nobody had come to rescue him yet, which felt out of character for the quick-acting Murdoch. He supposed perhaps they hadn’t even discovered he was missing at all; he was on a book tour, after all, it’s not like his absence at work would be considered unusual. Whumptober 2022 Day 5: Blood Loss/Running Out Of Air/Hypothermia
S-O-S by Horatio13 Summary: He was pinned in a pretty tight pocket, but not tight enough that it was impossible to breathe. Uncomfortably difficult, yes, but definitely possible. His ears were ringing. Something sharp was stabbing in his thigh. He couldn’t feel his fingers on his right hand, but he couldn’t see enough of them to figure out what the problem was. He could feel something wet and sticky starting to pool underneath his legs and stomach. Well, thought George numbly. This is fun.
Whumping the Bugalugs Series by Horatio13 Summary: Slaps the top of George's helmet This bad boy can fit SO much pain!
The Lady and the Arrow by GoodMorningMoon Summary: A crossbow bolt to the gut is quite a blow no matter how fit you are. Murdoch recovers from the events of 1x11, "Bad Medicine."
Steady On by GoodMorningMoon Summary: After the ambush at the church, only a select few know George Crabtree is still alive. Cross-posted to ff.net.
Out of the Woods by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Filling a gap in S8E11, "All That Glitters." How did George get a wounded Murdoch home from Haileybury?
The Lady and the Arrow by GoodMorningMoon Summary: A crossbow bolt to the gut is quite a blow no matter how fit you are. Murdoch recovers from the events of 1x11, "Bad Medicine."
Mr. Crabtree's Insistence by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Missing scene from (and spoilers for) 15x22, "Sweet Amelia." Effie seeks help for George after a deeply traumatic experience.

PROPAGANDA
HOLY KUJO (JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE: STARDUST CRUSADERS)
1.) She's treated badly by both the creator, Araki, and her own kid and father. When people start getting Stands (powers) hers tries to kill her, which functions as an excuse to start the plot of this arc of Jojo. The explanation is that she's too weak and gentle to control a Stand of her own, even though we see Stand users who are children, babies and even literal animals. Yes, animals. Holy's son Jotaro calls her a bitch and disrespects her for no real reason aside from establishing him as a rebel/delinquent, and Holy's father Joseph hates that she married a Japanese man and follows Japanese customs (Araki thinks xenophobia/racism is okay from a heroic character, apparently). Holy's saved from her evil Stand, but it's never explained why she couldn't have developed it into something useful- guess she was too much of a weak lady to have cool powers 🙃🙃🙃
2.) In the story, stands are developed due to Dio, who is in possession of the body of an ancestor of the Joestar family, stabbing himself with an arrow and developing a stand. In response, everyone in the family line begins developing them. Stands are supposed to be a representation of someone's "fighting spirit", and typically the stronger your spirit the more powerful your stand. Josuke(the main character's mom) develops a stand early on around the same time he does, except in her case she is too "weak willed" to develop a stand properly so she's dying from it. Part of the plot is that they have to defeat Dio to stop her from developing a stand in time or she'll die, even though everyone in the family keeps their stand but her after they defeat Dio??? This compassionate, caring woman who's practically a single mother is dying of being "weak willed" just what the fuck. There is 0 reason for this and It then takes multiple seasons for one of the Jojo's to be a woman and it's just a mess.
Also apparently when people try to justify it they put it as it needs to be a "fighting" spirit in particular but do NOT tell me Holy wouldn't have travelled to Egypt to throw hands with Dio for her son just do not she cared wayyyyyyyy too much about him.
POPPY PIPOPAPO (KAMEN RIDER EX-AID) (CW Mind Control)
1.) Poppy is a fully qualified nurse who magical girl transforms into a cutesy idol girl! Haha - yea you're never gonna see her act as a nurse. She's just a nurse because that's a Woman's Job and gives a reason for her to be supporting our Male Doctors. She'll provide some bedside manner because that's what nurses (women) do and that's their whole role. But better than that, she can scream really high pitched and sing songs because she's an idol! The other characters find this annoying and all make their annoyance at her doing this clear! But secretly (and this is spoilers) she's the villain's dead mother who he turned into a cute idol girl so she wouldn't be truly dead. She doesn't remember that that well but now she has a maternal instinct towards him! And also he kinda considers himself her father so… thanks for that. Well, since she's his mother, she can be in charge of babysitting him when he's caught for his bioterrorism time. Oh, and she'll sacrifice herself for the good of the world in an emotional scene where the writer forgot he literally already said that she has a revive button they can just press any time because who cares. Anyway here's a contrived reason she gets revived at the end to have an emotional scene with the male protagonist. Oh, but don't worry, we let her wear a superhero suit like 3 times.
2.) Despite working in a hospital for about 6 years, Poppy apparently isn't a nurse. Every male character around her is either a doctor, doctor in training, former doctor; but no. Poppy - who has been working here for 6 years - can't be a nurse. After all, she's just a rhythm game character! Yes, our female character isn't human, she's just a cutesy little rhythm game character who loves to sing and dance! She's our little mascot girl to sell the character song CD! Isn't she cute? She does all those cutesy idol girl things so you'll fall in love with her. Of course, it's not misogyny for a female character to be cute and girly, but the fact that she can work here for 6 years and not be considered a legitimate professional because she's an female idol-themed video game character, kinda rubs the wrong way. Also that the only exception for a male character being a doctor is the CEO that she gets stuck babysitting because she's technically his mother that he killed and turned into a cutesy idol video game character. Now she gets to play mother! That's what it means to be a female character we guess. Then we have how everyone around her treats her or reacts to her. We have Kiriya physically flinching away and looked annoyed when she talks too high pitched. We have her being told off that her personality is too "stressful" for patients to put up with. We have her being slapped by our protagonists. We have her being brainwashed to join the villains, who strangle her. And then she gets to die for the man pain and be brought back immediately. Then we get into the sequel movies where we put a collar on her to condition her into behaving in a way her master deems appropriate. She gets turned into a dress-up doll for them to play with.
3.) I'm just posting an image and would like to highlight the collar she's wearing in it

wot on prime rewatch: 1x08 the eye of the world (part 1)
spoilers through the end of season one of the wheel of time. I will do a reblog of this soon after I post it, with additional book-related spoilers.
1. Aaah, this opening. All in the Old Tongue! LTT is SUPER-HOT. The way we can see that the clothes they’re wearing here are kinda modern-ish with a twist. There’s so much visual information in this opening, in addition to the actual lore that we learn in the discussion between Lews and Latra. Just... opening up with “3000 years ago” and straight into a made-up language!
2. I like the design of Lews Therin’s house here. It does evoke a sense of grandeur, with those tall archways and columns, and there’s a lot of light coming in from every angle, and a nice tree inside the house. And the little (for now nameless) baby and us moving from the nursery and showing off that 3000 years ago was FUTURISTIC with flying cars, etc. And that the show itself is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Really nice reveal.
3. After the credits, we’re in the Blight with Moiraine and Rand. This is just a short scene to show that they are dealing with a place of rot and danger. Rand is, I think, feeling in over his head right now.
4. Back in Fal Dara, Perrin talks Egwene out of trying to chase after Rand into the Blight. They both talk about how they love Rand, check in with each other emotionally that this recent fight hasn’t impacted their friendship, and then have some consoling hugs. Very sweet scene.
5. During a rest stop, we learn that Rand and Lan talked off-screen at some point, and Lan told him that he’s from Malkier. Rand tries to do some emotional bonding with Moiraine over leaving the people they care about behind, but Moiraine is Not Ready for that kind of emotional commitment when she’s walking to what she believes to be her death. Or, honestly, ever in general.
6. Lan and Nynaeve share a moment, and she says that she’ll help him go after Moiraine and Rand, but he needs to bring Rand back when he does. Moiraine, of course, is his priority there, but... will she always be? Lan then tells Nynaeve that he admires her deeply, but also kinda shuts the gate on the idea of them being a couple. Makes sense to me -- from Lan’s PoV, Moiraine was able to use his affection for Nynaeve as a way to go off on her own, without respecting the choice that he made years ago to share in her dangers with her. So I get why he’s shutting a door that was only just opened with Nynaeve. His commitment to Moiraine and, you know, also saving the world means a lot to him.
7. Moiraine gets stabbed in a dream, and Rand confronts, ah, the Dark One, all flaming eyes. I wonder who he thought was the Dragon, since he says here that he DIDN’T think it was Rand. I’m gonna go with... Perrin. I think Moiraine was hoping it was Egwene, and that the Dark One thought it was Perrin (for book spoiler reasons that I will mention in the reblog). Both Rand and Perrin had individual dreams that we were shown, but Rand’s dream was a lot more chaotic than Perrin’s (literally everyone else was wandering around in his dream) and Perrin’s dream felt much more focused. That might reflect the Dark One being more focused on Perrin than on Rand.
8. Rand immediately shoots an arrow straight into his eye. Love that for him. The Dark One then pulls off his charred face by pushing in the arrow and just looks like a regular person. Anyway, arrow to the eye doesn’t work (at least not in whatever kind of dream this is). This actor is really really good (yes, I say that about pretty much all the acting on this show. But it’s all been really good!) and, right away, he shows a pretty deep familiarity with the past Dragon -- saying that Rand looks ‘nothing like him’, reaching out to touch his face, etc. Rand is, of course, pretty freaked out by all this. And the Dark One just talks very casually to “Lews Therin”. “Finally having a conversation once again.”
9. The Dark One negs Rand by telling him how pathetic it is for him to come here with just one Aes Sedai. I mean, gosh, put in some effort, Lews Therin, lol. He questions if Rand has ever even touched the Power (...not intentionally) and Rand pulls out a sword and points it at him. I mean, that’s kinda an answer all on its own. Anyway, Rand stabbing himself here is very logical from what he’s seen -- he assumes that he won’t ‘really’ get hurt (and doesn’t) because, well, he shot an arrow into someone’s head and they didn’t really get hurt. and I love that the Dark One is just kinda exasperated that Rand stabbed himself.
10. Much like Moiraine didn’t want to talk about how it felt to leave Lan behind with Rand, Rand doesn’t want to talk about his dream with Moiraine. Still processing everything that happened, I’m guessing. There was a lot! Rand wants to know what Moiraine’s plans are (this is always what Rand wants when it comes to Moiraine -- he just wants to be let on the plan!). Moiraine introduces him to the idea of a sa’angreal, to help amplify the Power. Moiraine says the plan is for Rand to put the Dark One back where he belongs.
11. “You thought it would be Egwene, didn’t you? You taught her to channel. You introduced her to your Amyrlin Seat. You thought it was her. So did I.” This is an interesting comment from Rand, because I kinda think that BOTH Moiraine and Rand ‘thought’ it would be Egwene for the same reason -- wishful thinking and denial. For Egwene, being the Dragon Reborn isn’t being sentenced to madness and death. For Mat, Perrin, or Rand, it is. Egwene is someone who can channel in the way that is culturally acceptable (in most places). Egwene being the Dragon Reborn would mean that the Aes Sedai wouldn’t need to question any of their current cultural practices re: gentling men.
12. Moiraine dances a great jig here to avoid telling Rand that she can’t actually see the Power when it’s used by men (as the show revealed in 1x4) and doesn’t know how to talk him through using it the way that she could talk Egwene through it. ~Oh, you’ll figure it out~ she vaguely tells him. No quiet intimate talks about rivers and trying to find the light in her jewel for Rand. imo, She is trying to maintain an illusion of certainty, both because she probably believes that Rand needs her to be certain so that he doesn’t lose his nerve and also because the illusion of certainty is pretty much how she lives her life. We get another of her great pauses where the Oath traps her from lying here, I think, when Rand presses her and asks her how she can be sure that he’ll figure out channeling when he needs it. And she goes into a story about an Aes Sedai beating her until she reached for the Power herself instinctively in order to make her stop. And this story is not actually answering Rand’s question! He doesn’t have a block, he has a lack of training. (but I do think her moment here of being genuinely vulnerable with Rand did reach him, and what she said helped him later, but it’s definitely a far cry from actually trying to teach him to reach the Power, like she did with Egwene).
13. Egwene, Nynaeve, Perrin, & Loial go to the bar where Min works to find some answers. Egwene starts the conversation with a demand (like how Rand started his conversation at the end of the last episode, though he backs down, apologizes, and starts over again when Min pushes back on him) - “We need some answers.” Min tells them, “People’s secrets are their business, no one else’s.” I respect show!Min so much. She doesn’t back down from this position! She doesn’t bend and tell them Rand’s secrets. And then the situation changes, as she gets a viewing of Nynaeve and then people all around them in the bar getting horribly injured. This is not very much warning for Min & Fal Dara. The horn in Fal Dara blows, and we see people head out out of the bar immediately.
14. Through a break in the trees, Rand and Moiraine see the Shadowspawn army heading for Tarwin’s Gap. Rand worries about his friends in the city, but Moiraine tells him that the only way to really help is to continue on their path and confront the source of the problem. Inside Fal Dara, Lord Agelmar learns of sabotage, which means Darkfriends looking to help the Trollocs & Fades invade. I like the scene between Lord Agelmar and Lady Amalisa -- it sets the stakes of the coming conflict -- he does not expect to survive the battle, believes that the Last Battle is upon them all, and only hopes to help win enough time for the world to pull together and fight. And it’s a nice family moment between the two of them.
15. Moiraine and Rand arrive at a building that goes downward into the earth, mostly just a huge hole with many staircases. Rand feels a familiarity with the location and here, once they’ve reached this point, he asks Moiraine if she’s walking to her death here and when he realizes that she DOES believe she’ll die, he tells her that she should stay here (but of course she does not, for multiple reasons).
16. Moiraine says straight-out here that the White Tower’s libraries were purged by Darkfriends (of knowledge of this place, but I’m guessing of many other things as well), which helps establish the stakes of why she and Siuan have kept their search for the Dragon Reborn such a secret. They are aware that they have traitors inside the White Tower.
17. As Rand tries to explain how/why this place feels familiar, he has a vision of the person that we know from the cold open is Lews Therin, talking passionately to someone, then spreading out his hands. Very interesting at this point is that, when Rand is deep in trying to remember what happened here, he is speaking in the first-person from Lews Therin’s memories. “I fought someone here.” But he says that the puzzle pieces don’t all fit together correctly. We get a glimpse of the Dark One, standing opposite across the symbol from where Lews Therin had stood. If Moiraine still had any doubts about Rand, this speech of his likely would have wiped them away entirely.
18. Rand find the symbol at the center of the room -- a circle, divided into two halves by a sinuous line. One half black and the other half white. He touches the Eye and there’s a lot to unpack in the various climaxes of the episode, so I’m going to take a break here.
