A Note On Some Things From Episode 2
1. Expressions :
I don't have words to describe the magic, that these two bunch of talents (Mr. BS & Mrs. SI), have casted on us through their soulful portrayal of Arnav and Khushi.
They have often bragged about being able to do the scenes easily without any visible discomfort because of their heartfelt friendship. But, let's also not forget the professionalism that they showed while performing the initial scenes. Because friendship between all the star cast came later on, as they kept shooting.
There were the initial scenes, for example the first scene of Arnav with his Di, on the stage or the dori scenes with Khushi, were the first, the very first of Barun's scene with Dalljeet and Sanaya. In an interview, it was mentioned that he was a very shy person at first. But, still he didn't let the awkwardness of not knowing them properly, affect his scenes with them. (I know that's the job of an actor but still it is indeed difficult to maintain it.) I am sure, the same must have happened with everyone else as well, and Kudos to the whole team for maintaining the work ethics. Such level of professionalism! Wow!
The scene, where, on hearing Di's voice, on the stage, Arnav turns back and smiles at his Di. That's so natural. Like, you can see that he is surprised to see her there, but also kind of 'I knew it!'.
Hehehe. Lol. I didn't do much mehnat in to this, this time. Hope you don't mind. :')
Yeah, so my point is just look at his (positively)delicious face look at the smooth change of expressions. The transition from being irritated to surprised to some more surprised to something akin to 'I knew, it would be you!'
And how did I forget to mention our beloved 'Dolly' here [ ;)] yeah, Anjali Di's inviting and warm smile, made us feel like "I wish I had an elder sister like her."
And the brilliance and brutality of Arnav, in the dori scene, with Khushi, being all scared, nervous and trying to convince the people around her that she is innocent. I don't know 'bout you but I definitely felt so desperate to go inside the screen and yell at those assholes (Arnav included.) to stop harassing her. And, I remember I was so so so so like so shocked so horrified, so much so that my heart started beating faster.
So.
Hmm.
Am I evil enough to give you a snippet of this scene?
Absolutely, not.
No.
NO.
NEVER.
DO YOU THINK I AM THAT EVIL!?!?
Okay, coming to this scene. This is just one of the many scenes where Sanaya literally gave out her soul. The Infamous Dori Scene.
The horror, the panic, the trembling lips and the realization that her back is exposed and that she has to cover it. Although, Arnav wasn't looking at there but when she slapped away her hair (can't find any other term coz week inglis.) he definitely looked at her long, black, straight -kind of - beautiful hair (or rather hair extension. Lol. I am kidding, ok? Sanaya's hair is indeed beautiful.)
The turning back and taking a look at his face to gauge his reaction, the tears and the way she flees away, everything is just- *chef's kiss*
2. Arnav's 'Triggered' Moment
When I was watching this, I wondered what did actually happen here?
Do you ever have this moment when you feel you are SO angry that your body starts shaking with rage? You can feel your body getting all worked up, heat simmering up to your ears and you almost see red?
You are so angry that you are not even thinking anything, you just do whatever comes to your mind, without giving it a second thought. You speak without thinking, the extent to which your words might hurt someone. Although, it may last a few seconds but is powerful enough to engulf you wholly.
And what happens when you calm down? You almost feel as if your body has gone limp, after all that rage. Your hands and legs feel weak and wobbly. Your stomach feels like someone churned it, with one hard smack. You come back to yourself. You return back to where you were, before you'd got triggered like that. And how often does this happen to you? Very rare. Depends on the situation as well.
But, guess what, this type of anger comes to Arnav, as naturally as breathing. Sad. But, true. I am not justifying what he did to Khushi, here, I am just giving an insight as to how he feels every time someone, more or less accidently, reminds him of his trauma.
This is, exactly what happens, with Arnav, each time, he is 'triggered'.
And that is why he needs serious therapy. Mental and emotional healing. Being with the right person still might not guarantee one's healing. A trauma, as deep as his, needs serious treatment.
He doesn't like to go back to his past. It makes him feel weak and vulnerable. Although it's very natural to feel so. But, he CANNOT--WILL NOT let himself, be in that type of a situation ever again, where he does not have the upper hand.
And, hence, whenever someone or Khushi (mostly Khushi, I think.) unknowingly triggers him, he has the worst reaction to it. He gets so livid, where he feels the need to 'punish' that person. He feels the need to make that person realize what a grave mistake they have committed, albeit unintentionally.
So, maybe when he sees her tear-stricken face, he jolts out of that state and thinks out of all the kind of reactions that he knew, he hadn't expected it to be this.
And so, he is -kind of- shocked, that maybe, this girl is not, whom he had thought her to be.
Therefore, he let's it pass, to be what it was, a mistake.
3. Marriage, Dowry and The Society
In today's world, getting married is just another grand event and not something directly related to one's 'honor'. ( I feel like I am writing an essay for some school's essay writing competition. Lol.)
But, back then, this was not the case. A broken marriage or even getting divorced used to be look down upon, like some kind of disgrace or 'curse' for that family and their 'honor'. And accepting dowry was just as normal as accepting gifts from someone (anyone).
The sheer audacity of the boy's family for asking it after imposing most of the financial burden on the girl's family. As if, they are doing some kind of favor to them by getting their SON married to their daughter. You see what I did there?
That's the thing. The inequality. It SO gets on my nerves, every time I think about the inequality, the patriarchy. The superiority complex & the inferiority complex. The misogyny. The chauvinism. UGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Ok so, that is it, then. I will add if I find something else. Bye, then. Have a great day/night ahead. God bless you.
Next!

Words didn't come easy to Arnav. Especially emotional words. With Anjai, with years of practice, he learnt, but with khushi he was in total dark.I doubt that Arnav had ever any need to use word to be with his previous girlfriends. So, right after that unjust alligation of everything being khushi's fault and usage of the contact to stop her from leaving him, all there relationship needed was 'RIGHT WORDS' to repair. But Arnav was unable to use them.Words Arnav used to hurt her, but couldn't use it to heal her? shame on you, Arnav. But I will give him 10 kudos for trying to understand what khushi needed and 100 kudos for keep trying relentlessly until he succeeded. And khushi was not forthcoming with information also, so more 10 kudos for Arnav.
Arnav was learning slowly slowly what khushi wanted by trial & error method. That dynamic of them post kidnapping is in a word intersting and unlike any other that we see in other dramas. As I am in the topic of communication, Here are some of my favourite scenes where poor Arnav bitwa trying to understand and communicate with his sanka devi and fullfilling her 'dil ki armaan'.
Event 01
Like in khushi's birthday, Arnav did all the things but not what khushi really wanted. And he listened. He succeeded like 5% of required goal, coz to achieved 100% khushi needed to be awake.but it's alright, that's progress.Like Arnav said 'she was sleeping, it's her problem'😂
Here I'll give Arnav some kudos coz khushi just expressed her desire for a simple 'happy birthday' but Arnav came to her with a rose picked from her mother's garden, as a compensation of not being able to wish her properly. The rose might seem ordinary to khushi, but the rose hold a great significance to Arnav. khushi will know later.See, the IPKKND was made to rewatch again and again.discussed in details here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Event 02
When dadi came and Khushi couldn't understanding the tension between Arnav and dadi, she said she felt like she didn't know him at all. So he listened to her and fulfilled her wish.He bared his heart and soul to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Event 03
There another mutual communication happened here, my favourite, where he fullfilled khushi's dream marriage with proper rituals and custom. On the other hand, Khushi assured him his feelings meant the most, more than her rituals and customs.Discussed in details here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Event 04
An imaginary date that Arnav brought to reality. It's really representative of how much he loved her.He wanted to give her everything her heart desired.it's really a beautiful moment,Khushi ki dil ki 'kahi-unkahi baatein' heard by Arnav.

ArShi TS: Open Secret [2/3]
Word Count: ~2000 words
Prompt by @ruminationsofaraven
What if all the secrets are revealed during the Holi segment? Can you write about the dynamic shift in the characters and how this would affect the Raizada parivaar in this phase of their lives.
Read part 1
Tumblr media
Shyam had intended to color Khushi all along. If only Arnav hadn’t come in between… but for how long? What if the next time Arnav wasn’t around? Then?
The thought sobered Payal up more than the lemon pickles. Them hiding Shyam’s true colors was a mistake. That man had no intention of changing, his disgust on Khushi being married was evident and so was his desperation to get to Khushi one way or the other.
Oh what had they done! For Payal’s marriage they had all put Khushi’s safety at stake. What if Khushi wasn’t married into the family, what if he had blackmailed Khushi to ensure the safety of Payal’s marriage?
Khushi’s marriage, more of an elopement, was a blessing in disguise because Payal’s marriage to Akash had just been the leverage Shyam could have used against the Guptas. Especially Khushi.
No, Akash had to know the truth.
Payal composed herself and head to her bedroom to find a stony faced Akash, a devastated Nani and an enraged Manohar.
What was going on?
– – – – – – – – – – –
“What is going on!” Manohar yelled, quieting Manorama with his rare rage as the rest of the family flinched in the living room. Shyam sweated profusely, Khushi blinked in confusion and Arnav was just sobering up.
“Mama ji-” Shyam began but Manohar stopped him in his place with a look.
What the hell…
Anjali sat next to Khushi, holding her hand tightly. Khushi’s attention was diverted to the quivering pregnant woman.
“Bitwa, please calm down. Anjali bitiya-” Nani began, trying to reign in her son’s temper. Anjali was expecting and she was of faint heart. God forbid if she followed her mother’s footsteps then Devyani would have no will to live at all.
“How long has this been going on?” Akash asked Shyam, his anger barely in check. When Shyam feigned innocence, Akash rolled his eyes and took Khushi’s phone from Mama ji.
“Di, I’m really sorry. But you should read the texts that your husband sends out to your sister in law.” Arnav stood up, realizing Akash had figured out what he had. He grabbed the phone from Akash’s hands, stopping him from handing it over to Anjali.
Anjali wouldn’t be able to bear the truth.
“Akash, leave it.” Arnav warned. Akash froze, Arnav knew.
“Bhai… how can I leave it? The whole house has a right to know, especially Di-” Shyam paled at the conflict between the cousins. Shit. They knew. But how much? And what perspective?
If Akash thought what Arnav thought, then Khushi and Payal would be kicked out from the house and everything would work in his favor.
But Anjali looked strangely calm. Perhaps she wouldn’t believe her cousins. Shyam formulated a plan, he would beg for forgiveness and talk about the way Khushi came onto him. That’s how the Gupta sisters are. Payal grabbed Akash at the first chance and when Khushi couldn’t get Arnav, she and her family latched onto the very married Shyam.
This would make perfect sense.
And Garima would never speak to the family - he knew it by her fear of Payal’s broken wedding!
Anjali stood up and grabbed the phone from her brothers, reading aloud the text message from Shyam.
“Dear Khushi ji, it’s time to bury the hatchet at this wonderful festival, isn’t it? I miss you, and I still love you. Trust me, Rani Saheba means nothing to me. Yours, Shyam” Anjali’s voice shook. Khushi panicked, disgusted at the text message. She should’ve never given the man another chance. Rather, she should have buried him alive the minute she had got to know the truth.
He wouldn’t stop. He never would. It was her biggest mistake to have kept it quiet for the sake of Payal’s marriage. But speaking of Payal, where was she?
Arnav yanked Khushi by the arms, his eyes bloodshot in rage.
“How dare you-”
“Chote!” Anjali pulled Khushi away from Arnav’s grip - which left bruises on Khushi’s arms, as always.
“Di?” Arnav asked in disbelief.
“This is a lie…” She pointed to the text, “or half of the truth. We don’t know everything. I’m sure there’s a misunderstanding.” Anjali begged her brother.
Oh Anjali and her false hopes.
“Exactly Rani Saheba, this is not what you think it is.” Shyam, finally, opened his mouth. The whole family glared at him except Anjali. Phew, that meant his lottery ticket still believed in him.
“No Di, I know her. She’s a disgusting gold digger woman with no character-” Khushi stared at Arnav in disbelief. That is what he thought about her? Is that why he married her? But what about their heartbeats? How was he able to give her so much happiness and so much pain at once? The ground slipped beyond her feet as vicious, vile words spilled out of Arnav’s mouth.
“Bhai-”, “Bitwa-” Akash and Manohar tried to stop Arnav but in fail.
“ENOUGH!” Payal screamed, her family in tow.
This was worse than she had imagined. Akash, Manohar and Devyani gave her a chance to tell the truth and she rushed home to bring back Garima and Madhumati to corroborate their version of events. But all they walked into was Khushi’s character assassination.
How did this happen? It was Shyam who sinned, correct?
“You’re happy hiding the truth na Amma?” Payal accused Garima, tears pricking her eyes. Madhumati on the hand just stormed off into the living room, her blood pressure rising through the roof.
Shyam remained quiet, the situation was incredibly volatile and he needed to assess everyone’s tonality before he could give a fitting reply to save his place. But his demeanor slipped looking at Madhumati raging like a bull towards him.
She paused, switching glares between him and Arnav. Interesting, who would she hit first? By the looks of it… Arnav was the target.
Instead she grabbed Khushi’s wrist and pulled her away.
“What are you doing?” Devyani asked.
“Well this house does not respect my niece, so I’m taking her away from here.” Madhumati announced, pulling a frozen Khushi along.
“Respectwa? Hello hi bye bye, since when have we started respecting these kind of women?” Manorama sneered.
“Enough!” Payal snapped, tearfully she looked at Akash, “Akash, when I thought you, Papa ji and Dadi ji gave me a chance to bring my family along I thought you were giving the truth a chance. But I see you’ve all already laid judgment - especially jethji.” Arnav frowned.
“There is no other truth, Payal,” Arnav warned her, holding his sister tight.
“How do you know that Arnav?” Arnav stiffened as Anjali’s soft, yet firm voice broke through the tension.
“How do you know everything?” Anjali whispered.
“Exactly saale sahab-” Shyam agreed, “No one’s talking to you Shyam ji,” Anjali said, freezing Shyam. What did that mean? Did Anjali know the truth? How?
“All you have is Shyam ji telling he loves Khushi, what do you know about what she feels?” Anjali questioned. Arnav balked at his sister’s calm questioning. Where was the anger? Where was the rage? This was her life!
“I’ve not seen anyone ask Khushi what the truth is.” Anjali left Arnav and held Khushi. Madhumati let her go, stunned that out of all people to show rationality it was Anjali.
“What is the truth Khushi ji, tell me? You’ve already tried telling me once, haina?” Khushi finally broke out of her thoughts, staring at Anjali in confusion.
Anjali smiled amidst her tears, holding Khushi’s cheeks gingerly, “It’s ok, this time I wouldn’t pretend to fear for my husband’s life.” The whole house fell quiet as Khushi broke into sobs, hugging the other woman tightly.
– – – – – – – – – –
Anjali had laughed at everyone when they learned Khushi’s fiance was Shyam too. But the laughter quickly faded when she saw the ring on Khushi’s hand to be exceedingly similar to Shyam’s taste and the engagement ring he had selected for Anjali.
Or when Motilal met Anjali again, laughing how Shyam was buying two rings for Anjali - he must be making up for a crime!
Anjali’s suspicions solidified when the day she formally introduced Shyam and Khushi, Khushi’s engagement broke and she had come over the next day, tearfully trying to tell her the truth.
She thought all was well with Shyam paying attention to her, Arnav and Khushi’s growing attraction to each other, and Shyam’s joy over her safety when she returned from the accident.
But one look at Holi and she knew her husband hadn’t stopped chasing Khushi, in fact he had only grown bolder, more dangerous.
– – – – – –
The house was quiet as Khushi was done with her version of events - from Lucknow to Delhi.
“She’s lying!” Shyam cried, but this time Madhumati held his wrist in a menacing grip to let this man escape.
“Lying? We have the whole of Lakshminagar to confirm your dalliance in our house!” Payal seethed. Garima closed her eyes, the errors of her judgment clear.
“Hello hi bye bye, actions so down yet voice so louds?” Manorama scoffed at Shyam. Unbelievable! Any emotion, any tears, anything she felt for her beloved damaad disappeared in an instant. Manohar consoled the distraught Devyani but Manorama sought strength from Anjali’s strength.
If her darling niece didn’t break down from the truth - she would not either. She slipped away from the crowd, calling her police contacts to file an FIR for everything Shyam had done. Attempted bigamy to stalking, siphoning funds off Anjali’s account to continuous harassment of Khushi.
Someone over here had to be practical.
“If you had only asked me,” Khushi asked Arnav, distraught that he hadn’t even liked her enough to ask. Not even asked. He had simply believed the worst of her in the blink of an eye.
And even if he had believed the truth, did he think he had no right to yell at her? To demand her side of the story? To demand justifications for what all they felt?
“So everyone knew some part of the truth anyways?” Akash laughed bitterly, settling on the sofa. Arnav could not respond, his heart soaring at the thought that Khushi was innocent but his mind calculating the damage of his actions.
“And nobody, nobody told me.” Akash sighed. Payal reached out to him, attempting to hold his hand but he shrugged it off.
“You know Payal, I understand Bhai not telling me because if I heard only his version of events I might have not been able to marry you. I get it that he tried to preserve our family as much as he could. I understand Di not telling me because she herself was not sure if what she suspected was true or not. But you? Your family? You all literally did not tell me the truth just so you could marry me?” Akash was hurt, that despite all of his mother’s warnings that the Guptas would like to secure this marriage - a part of her was right.
“Nahi Bitwa, Payal already had a broken marriage-” Garima began but Akash raised his hand, unable to hear anything else.
“I know she had, and to be honest I’d understand if you had hidden that from me. But a truth concerning my sister’s wellbeing? I mean don’t tell me you all actually thought Di would be happy with Shyam-” Akash questioned the Guptas, their shame faces telling everything.
Shyam, meanwhile, had nothing apart from silence to offer. The family spoke as if he didn’t exist, and pretended to not see when the police picked him up and carried him off to jail. This was the heights?! His yells to Anjali, curses to the Raizadas and threats to the Guptas only helped the police further to lock him up. Manorama only bid him a happy bye bye from the doorway.
“I’m sorry Di,” Khushi whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. Anjali had not left Khushi’s side at all. She had played complicit to Khushi’s harassment.
“It’s ok, you’re young. People make mistakes,” Anjali paused and looked at a stricken Arnav, “don’t they?”
Arnav swayed on his feet, collapsing by Anjali and unable to meet Khushi’s eyes.
What had he done?
“You are right Akash. My family acted purely out of selfishness for my marriage to happen. As such I have violated the sanctity of truth of our marriage.” Payal whispered, wiping her tears away.
“Hence, the only way to repair this, is for me to walk out of your life.”
A/N: Finally I've updated this! Last part left! Let me know how you think this would transpire???

These are moments or you can say the shots from the show where I found Arnav very handsome, cute, hot, irresistible etc...
Although whever he comes on the screen I just can't put my eyes off him, I don't even blink my eyes, just want to see him as much as possible.
I have a huge crush on Arnav. Ok let's start.
He came out of the helicopter and while walking into the sheeshmahal. Those aviators looked amazing on him. Literal hero entry boss.
When he removed his blazer in front of Khushi before giving her a dictation in English, in the office.
Teej temple scene when he was mesmerized seeing Khushi in the orange saree .
When he went to the Gupta house for the first time after marriage, his expressions while holding the plant Khushi brought for him...and when she saved him from falling into the rangoli were 😘.
He was exercising in the Laxmi Nagar, poured water on his face, Arnav you know you are hot, we know you are hot then why igniting the fire again and again and again. He was literally irresistible in that shot.
In Khushi's dream, when he was indenting her with 25 thousand rupees. His smile awwwww 😍... This is for the first time I saw that smile and I lost my heart to him again.
Where he overhears the conversation of Bhuaji and Khushi during the first Ritual of their marriage (Shagun). His "Thank you" had multiple meanings...let me explain Thank you for taking my side on the day of our first marriage, because she was slapped by Garima after that. Thank you for loving me the way I am. Thank you for again taking my side and denying the Raksha Dhaaga. Thank you for coming into my life. His eyes are so innocent, they speak a lot.
When he comes to the temple to take the permission of Devi maiyya for their marriage. Again the aviators and that innocent, cute smile.
During his bachelor's night when he said "Tumne Jo meri bachelor party kharab ki hai uska kya.... Saza toh milegi" . Khushi didn't move in the first place, even she was ready for the punishment. Who are we then?
When Arnav lost his voice, when he and Khushi were leaving for the office he called her name in his mute voice and Khushi turned back, his expressions were amazing, Arnav bitwa was shocked, happy, amused and satisfied that his love can feel him.
In Lavanya's day dream where looks old with two new girlfriends. I can imagine Barun if not put on weight will look stunning just as he looks now.
When Khushi was dancing in Payal-Aakash's engagement on the song Salam-e-ishq, Arnav was just looking at Khushi and only Khushi. This is the thing noticed by Lavanya and she got confirmation that Arnav loves Khushi.
When Arnav saw the Photoshoot, he saw Khushi's picture and went speechless. His eyes were filled with attraction he felt for her .
Just after the Honeymoon in the morning when he was looking at his Khushi sleeping besides him on the sofa, I was looking at him as he looked so good in that shot. I am adding some photos for reference. Arnav came in Khushi's dream. Indebting her with 25000 rupees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arnav overhearing the conversation between Khushi and Bhuaji. During their Shagun ceremony.
Overhearing is a bad habit but you will be forgiven.
Tumblr media
Arnav came to the temple for seeking the blessings of Devi maiyya for their marriage.
Tumblr media
Arnav called Khushi with no volume in his voice but to his surprise Khushi turns back.
Tumblr media
Lavanya's day dream. This is how Arnav will look when he will get old. Not bad (that's why he is having two new girlfriends with him).
Tumblr media
He cannot take his eyes off Khushi and we can't take our eyes off him 🤭😍
Tumblr media
He is speechless and mesmerized seeing the Photoshoot of Khushi.
Tumblr media
Both on the same couch for the first time. I wonder how can someone look innocent, hot, cute and handsome all at the same time? God has taken a lot, a lot of time to make this face . Nazar na Lage. Touch wood.

Dear DDM, Agent Jalebi needs to file a confession. I feel Arnav Singh Raizada looks EXTREMELY HOT, post marriage, on absolutely useless scenes. Like the Hut SR attempt #1, and the Janmasthami SR attempt #2. It's terrible that he's so well built, lean, sexy (that one lock of hair on his forehead, shoulders, fitted black suit, ugh) on scenes that didn't need him to be. This is crime. Same for Khushi. They have no right being so hot aise hi. Phew, over and out. Send my love to PS. AJ

I had Thoughts about Diwali heartbreak and to clarify them I went and rewatched those episodes and got MAD all over again and to soothe myself I had to watch the Khushi sagai (engagement) reveal. I know we, like Khushi, are supposed to sympathize with Arnav’s pain and hurt at that moment, but all I feel is sukoon x max at bitwa facing the Consequences of his Actions for once.
Like RIP to Khushi but I’m different. If I was her I’d just be like “cool, now suffer!”

IPKKND INCORRECT QUOTE - (2/n)
Payal rushed out of the SUV as they reached the supposedly 'suicide' spot- Scandal Point.
Arnav : Bohot hi stupid plan hai, itne loopholes hain. Tumhari jiji sahi keh rhi thi. Agar mujhe pata hota ki Akash ne kahan se kudna hai toh mujhe usse bachane jana chahiye ya tumhe ghar aake letter dena chahiye.
Khushi : Arre toh isme humari kya galti hai. Agar aapko theek se juth bhi nahi bolna aata. Agar aap kisiko aapni baat bhi nahi manwa sakte, toh matlab humara plan 'bekar' ho gaya...? Yeh kya baat hui...?
Khushi : Aap toh jiji ko keh sakte the na ki Akash ji aapki baat sunne ko bhi taiyyar nahi the, aur unhone aapko jald se jald, jiji ko woh chitthi dene ko kahan tha, toh woh toh maan hi jati na...?
Khushi : Apne aap ko bohot bada businessman kehte hain. Bade aaye, laad governor. *hmphs*
*Arnav giving his (in)famous ASR glare to her but to no effect*
*Khushi exasperated, gives him a side eye roll, walks away to her jiji*
Arnav : *splutters* Dammit...mere dimag mein kyun nahi aaya yeh.
Bitwa's Shaatir Dimag : Coz I don't like to work around that girl, we already had a talk about this.
Arnav : Yeah, right. How did I forget that, now shut up. *walks away*
Hehehe lol. Bitwa's Shaatir Dimag had a wild card entry.
Next One!

OS: Hey, I Missed You
Whille being on bedrest for the past four days, I ended up writing this in the notes app. Thought to add it here as well just because! It’s currently available on my wordpress blog and india-forums. You can check out all my fan fictions here.
It was no secret to the members of the Raizada household that Arnav and Khushi were incapable of keeping their hands off each other. While generally, no one dared to stop Arnav from dragging his wife away from family gatherings, which Akash had found extremely unfair, the week before Diwali, everybody had collectively decided that they would rather die than let Arnav drag Khushi away, especially with multiple guests visiting and Khushi being the eldest bahu who possessed the zest for event management.
Manorama fretted over the new cushions on the couch before running over to straighten the curtains Hari Prakash had just hung when she saw Arnav walk into the house with Akash following behind. She was quick to call Akash over to help her out who did little to nothing to help her besides standing behind her as she rambled about no one caring that her sister was visiting. Arnav shook his head and muttered an 'unbelievable' before trying to find the one person he had been looking for. Khushi was standing near the mandir with a notepad in her hand and had just looked up.
She smiled at him as he tilted his head, silently asking him to follow her. She raised her eyebrows to try to insinuate that Mami might not let her go but he was insistent. She shrugged, putting the notepad on the table in the way before walking up to her. He leaned in to kiss her cheek. "Jija ji is here!" she punched him lightly on the arm. Arnav switched his laptop bag into the other hand before wrapping his arm around her waist as they two walked upstairs, hoping to remain unnoticed.
Unfortunately, they were noticed! "Oh ho Phatti Sari—matlab Khushi!", Manorama called out from the back!
"Just ignore Khushi!" Arnav mumbled into her ear.
Manorama rushed towards the stairs and noticed Arnav's arms around her. "Oh no Arnav bitwa, I need PhaKhushi betiya with me today!" She was quick to pull Khushi's other arm towards her and dragged her downstairs. —"You can have her back later!" she called out before directing Khushi to change the table covers in the room.
Arnav stood rooted to his spot for about a whole minute with Khushi casting stolen glances towards him with an apologetic face. Never before had someone just taken Khushi away from him like this. He slowly moved away, stunned to process any other thoughts.
---
Arnav came downstairs looking for his wife whom he hadn't properly seen in about a week's time. Manorama's sister and NK's mother, was coming back to India after about ten years and staying over with them for about a month. While Arnav had no objections to the arrangement when he was inquired about it thrice by both Anjali and Khushi respectively, he had begun questioning the setup after seeing that Payal and Khushi were held responsible for most of the whims Manorama was concerned about. He didn't understand why he paid salaries to an army of servants if everything was to befall upon his Khushi in the last minute.
He spotted Khushi sitting next to Nani ji and Mami, nodding along to instructions being given.
"Khushi, can you come upstairs!" he asked in front of the older ladies.
"Nahi Chotte, Khushi betiya ne abhi mandir saajana hai."
"What?!"
"Bitwa, she can't come right now."
"Why can't Payal do it? or Di? Di loves doing stuff like this!"
"Chotte!" Deviyani was visibly irritated, "Anjali betiya was fasting today, she's at the mandir herself. and Payal betiya is making kheer for tonight."
Khushi smiled at him unapologetically, as he stomped towards the study.
---
"pata nahi yeh Khushi kahan reh gai!" Payal mumbled irritated.
Payal and Anjali stood by the door, waiting for Khushi to rush. She had excused herself by saying that she needed to go to the bathroom and pick up her purse before they head out for gift shopping for the incoming guests, however it had been close to half an hour and they were contemplating going upstairs themselves to look for it.
They walked upstairs to find the door half ajar, and Khushi struggling whilst giggling, while being held by Arnav against the cupboard door.
The two women looked at each other before knocking and pushing the door open. "Arnav ji, chodiye!" she wasn't quite enough for the others to not hear.
"Chotte! Ghar me itna sara kam para hai! Diwali ki renovations and then NK bhai ki family aur tum Khushi ji ko neeche aane nahi de rahe ho!"
"Haan toh!" he replied indignantly.
"Haan toh kiya!" she snapped back before walking up close enough for his grip to loosen on Khushi's arm. Arnav gaped as his sister pulled away from his wife from him who clearly appeared more amused than upset at the dry spell this week had been for them. Payal tried being considerate to Arnav's gaping expression by saying sorry however it did little to help since she was barely able to contain her laughter at the predicament in front of her.
---
Arnav had decided to come home early, leaving tasks pending for the first time in perhaps six months so he was able to whisk Khushi away from everyone before dinner. He had miscalculated his steps since the arrival of the guests about five minutes before he entered the gates of Shantivan ensured that Payal and his wife would be held ransom until the guests were taken to their rooms.
He walked in to be greeted by NK who had previously left India only about three months ago. "Nannav! mere bhai! Did you miss me?"
Arnav grumbled a no and uncomfortably patted NK's back who had thrown his arms around him.
"How was the flight?" he inquired.
"Flight? Oh, it was great! Drank some champagne, watched some Harry Potter, dreamt about Khushi ji's jalebis!"
Arnav looked at him incredulously. If he could punch NK for talking about Khushi's food, he would but he knew that that would be quite unacceptable.
"Arnav ji!" Khushi breathed, excusing herself from the group to walk over to him. He smiled at her, hoping that she wouldn't be called back but before he could say anything, NK popped in between the two with a sneaky grin. "Come on guys, you see each other every day. Spend some time with us."
Khushi chuckled before meeting her husband's eyes who looked like he could chop someone's head off. NK made sure to poke Arnav a couple of times before walking away.
"Why don't you freshen up. We're going to set up for dinner."
"Are you coming upstairs?" he was about to lean in to kiss her cheek when the door opened behind him and Akash walked in to cheerfully greet his aunt and cousin from the entrance itself.
"I have to help Di and Jiji!" she replied apologetically. He sighed nodding and turned to see Akash holding Payal's hand while sitting next to NK.
About half an hour later, Arnav walked downstairs to seat himself for dinner. There were two empty seats were next to Akash at the end of the table, and one next to him. He pulled open his seat and pushed the one next to his for Khushi except an over-eager NK decided to seat himself. "Thanks, mere Bhai!"
It had taken all of his energy to politely nod along to any question asked of him during dinner before he excused himself. Khushi however, had become the life of the party alongside NK. He contemplated pulling her up from the seat but seeing that she was still eating, he tapped her shoulder and whispered, telling her he's waiting for her; before leaving.
---
It was past midnight when Khushi made an appearance in their bedroom. After pacing around for close to two hours, Arnav had fallen asleep without pulling the covers on himself. Khushi walked over towards him, moving the hair off his forehead to see if he was awake. She had found herself exceptionally busy in preparation for Mami's sister's entire family and with Diwali around the corner, she was sure that the weekend was going to go by just as fast. She heaved a sigh before walking over to pull out her nightclothes and walking into the bathroom.
Arnav found himself being roused out of sleep. For a moment he thought that he was imagining her touch, but the sound of lock and running sink water from the bathroom brought him out of the momentary haze. He sat up noticing the blanket tucked around him. Khushi walked out of the bathroom at the same instant.
"Aap jageh hue ho?"
She was about to get into the bed when he took her hand and pulled her towards him with as much force as he could muster so that she felt square onto him. She smiled, looking up at him and allowing herself to fall into the depths of warmth and love his eyes always seemed to welcome.
"I missed you," he whispered
"Me too," she replied
He leaned in, his hand holding onto hers, his lips slowly finding hers. They tasted like jalebis and barfis, the sweets she probably had been eating before. The kiss deepened as her hands wandered towards his torso and rested on his chest. Part of her wanted to pull away and fall asleep knowing the chores lined up for tomorrow but she had missed him so much throughout the week. He breathed in her scent before breaking away. He kissed her forehead before wrapping his arms around her as she pulled the blankets up for them. Her head fell from the crook of his elbow to his shoulder, her hands clutching onto his t-shirt, and in mere seconds she was snoring. He chuckled at her ability to fall asleep instantly and half of her body resting over his, as he himself closed his eyes welcoming the most peaceful sleep he was about to have in a week's time.

eccentric rich guy having eccentric rich guy problems 💀
hi ps, when remarriage happened dadi told all the guests to leave before the wedding itself started with the chaos she made and i wonder what those guests thought about arnav and his family and khushi because wasn't that kinda.. embarrassing no?
Hi hi!
Arnav's rich. He can buy new friends ;)
It would've been weird and awkward but I think we need to weigh that against the sheer awkward of getting remarried in the first place. I mean, Arnav is famous enough to be in gossip columns and celebrity-watch type shows.
They made such a big deal of Khushi falling into his arms at the fashion show, they must've had a field day with the news that Arnav Singh Raizada eloped (eloped!!) with the same woman a few months later. And they would've been confused and inappropriately invested in the fact that ASR, six months after eloping with the woman who literally fell into his arms, was going to marry her again in a public ceremony surrounded by family, and friends, and industry leaders. Can Kamlesh Khabri score an invite? Will the bride fall dramatically again? How did the younger ASR, Aakash, end up married to that woman's sister?
Given that it was probably a circus anyway, there's no reason to think that Dadi's antics would've changed public perception substantially. He's just some eccentric rich guy having eccentric rich guy problems.

IPKKND was a show which was made to rewatch again and again to peel away it's layers like an onion.Call it luck or the fruit of the dedication and hardwork that IPKKND team had done on this show, the show had achieved a cult-classic status.Otherwise all the intrigated storylines, the tragedy, the pain in the past, the layered and nuanced acting of the actors would have been overlooked. ITV isn't a medium where the facial expression of an actor needed to be observed. It's a place where character's emotions are showed blatantly by loud music and multiple cuts and effects. But here we are,IPKKND lunatics, trying to read Arnav's subtle facial expression even after 12 years later.Though the beauty of the subject makes the process more enjoyable.😉
Such an moment of this show was where our emotionally-stunted male lead practised the art of apology in front of a mirror in the initial stage of their courtship and did kind of a similar thing again down the line.
The thing is khushi could read Arnav to a level that no one close to him could and that had solved certain problems in Arnav's case and he got away without stressing himself much to adopt the art of communication. And how long can a person read another person without exhausting herself, which happened with khushi here. After the contact marriage khushi could sense Arnav was hurt, that's why he was being mean to her.So, his 'hate' doesn't affect her that much cause she could see the battle going on inside him in his eyes. But after the revelation of truth of the contact marriage she broke down thinking he really hated her, whatever she thought she saw in him, was just her imagination. Then the hope came with a declaration of love, but soon was destroyed by unjust accusation hurled to her in throes of anger. At this point, khushi became the person who was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
So khushi's silence and reluctance toward him was understandable, on top of her heartbreak the guilt towards the whole situation doubled her pain.Amidst all the hurt and confusion, khushi didn't have it in her to decipher Arnav anymore who kept hurting her again and again , she needed clear and heartfelt words of reassurance .And Arnav suspected khushi needed some form of verbal comfort for her hurt . And what solution he came up with?He was practising to make conversation with her when she was asleep just like he was practising to say 'sorry' to her in front of the mirror. 🙄Man,Arnav, you are a duffer, who does that?
Day 01
Tumblr media
Arnav was a man who despite not interested in marriage in first place, knew the fundamentals of a real marriage. Because, marriage meant a great deal to him.And here his love of life was hurting and he was unable to provide her an emotionally available husband that could erase her woes.A man who couldn't wish his wife a simple 'happy birthday' to her face despite best efforts of the whole day, how could he make her happy throughout their life? The burden of being a terrible husband wore him down. He was barely holding himself, sitting beside her sleeping form with unshed tears in his eyes and a single rose in his hand. His heart was heavy with unspoken words that he wasn't able to say out loud.He was crying not only for his weakness but also for the uncertainity of their future in case thing didn't change and his inability to make her happy. So, the man wished for his wife all the happiness in the world, because that's what he wanted to give her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And uff those unshed tears that laslty formed a teardrop threatened to spill over his eyes.Who need heart anyway, crush it in a mixer grinder and make chutney with it. Kahe Arnav bitwa, kahe?
Day 02
Tumblr media
Arnav remained consistent on his pursuits in consecutive second night. He knew khushi is suffering from self-guilt over the whole situation. So,He promised her everything would be sorted with time. I always get moved by the yearning in his eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he told her that it's easier to talk to her when she's sleeping.I don't know when I see this scene in an instagram reel in a funny light, like it's easier for him to talk to her sleeping from, coz she talked too much, irritate me so much. There were so much going on here and she wasn't even in her talkative self those days. It's not funny, damn it.This was serious business. The biggest deal of Arnav's life was in progress right here.
Tumblr media
I bet khushi was pretending to sleep that night too. And it's my headcanon that she was not allowing to hold him her hand at those nights, but here she took out her hand under the duvet and placed it where he could hold it , in case it's the last night they were sleeping together in the same bed, as she decided to leave shantivan the next day.And it's funny too,how alarmed Arnav was when she moved in her pretend-sleep.His fight-and-flight response was activated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Mrs.Raizada went to her buaji's house, putting a obstacles to Mr.Raizada's night time rituals.Stay tuned to know what Arnav bitwa did next😉.
My scattered thoughts (10/?)

Hi JWB, what is your take on Arnav’s poolside kiss during Payash wedding? Didn’t he go too far and give too much away about his intensions with Khushi? That was such a blatant gesture😂 how did he go back to being “farak nahi padta” again?
Hello anon,
Absolutely not! Arnav-Khushi were testing feels and intimacy but neither knew where to go considering their history.
Someone HAD to take the first step.
And tbh, when Khushi winked at him and literally danced for him, bitwa got all the green signal he needed. And the show shows that Khushi is so shocked that it actually happened. She's incredibly lost, frazzled. It not an unwanted gesture but she does not know how to reciprocate or tbh, happening for real.
She is holding her cheek in disbelief for the whole day. It takes her 3 whole days to understand that it's happening for real. Until, it wasn't.
He never went back to 'farak nahi padta' until the misunderstanding.
He just needed time understanding what courting/romancing Khushi meant and if he was ready to really realize he was in deep love.
Best,
JWB
