Sure, there had been a small amount of work she had done...saving some people under the name of Blaze but no one needed to know that, especially not Tony Stark. “So you’re either here to make sure I’m still a good guy or you heard the sad story about how everyone I loved is dead. If he’d had any doubts about whether or not this was Darcy, they’d have vanished by now, as soon as she spoke up. That was her voice, that was definitely the girl who had once been his PA and good friend. She looked different, why so, he couldn’t quite tell yet – not when she was trying her very best to hide herself. But yes, that was her. The one he had been looking for all this time.

“Well, no shit. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out there’s something wrong with this damn place.”

One, two steps closer he took, trying to get a better look at her but she had her face mostly hidden by some sort of veil. “What’s happened to you? Why did you just disappear? It was so hard to find you, but I knew I had to keep looking, that you weren’t dead.”

“Suffer what? What… Did these weird people do something to you? Did they hurt you?” He was making too many questions, he was aware of that but he could not help it at that moment. He was so confused plus he needed to know what exactly was going on here, so that he could come up with a plan to get them both out of this village as fast as possible.

“Darcy, I’m not leaving without you. I came all the way here for you, and no matter what happens, I’m not gonna turn around and leave you here with these creepy fuckers.”

She wants to beg, wants to plead. Wants him to get anywhere but where they are now. Her skin’s paled and ashen, single still formed eye near watering. On one hand, she’s glad to see him, happy to have some semblance of normal that’d been ripped away from her. Not like this, not where Tony’s placed at risk.

She swallows, a tear falling as she retreats further into the shadows. “ There’s.. experiments, strange things going on that would take far too long to explain. I.. I can’t go back anymore, I think, they won’t… humans can’t accept me anymore. “

The sharp sting of Heisenbergs heavy boots catches Darcy’s attention. She took too long, most likely, and his power over metal would be a great detriment to Tony’s safety, especially in his suit. A deep breath, and she pleads once more. “ Please, you.. you have to go, now! It.. it can’t happen to you, too.. “
