#armando and marcela
Armando is a really conflicting character because of how much of a coward he is. He can't give a straight step ahead, it's always half things. He had a thing for Betty before the Plan, but when he was confronted with actually having something with her, he freaked out and feigned a disgust that was never there before. He always took Betty out to fancy places for work, it wasn't uncommon to be seen in public with her, but as soon as it was with actual intent, he freaked out and acted embarrassed even though they could have very easily just said it was purely for business. He said he was going to be public with her as soon as the meeting was over, but when Marcela catches them hugging, he immeditely denies it even though at this point he has nothing else to lose. He could only ever be honest in solitude or in front of Betty. He always lacked the courage to face society and himself.

I can understand Marcela’s hate for Betty for being Armando’s mistress and taking part in a fraud (although she hated her long before she knew about that and I don’t buy the bs about femenine intuition), but the argument she was right to hate her for covering up Armando’s affairs doesn’t fly when we take into account that Mario did the same and she didn’t have the same energy for him. Marcela hated her because she was “ugly”, because of her status and because Armando confided in her and trusted her. She couldn’t expect Betty, a woman in precarious financial situation, to snitch on her boss, the only one that had given her a chance and had hired her despite her looks. It’s appalling how people, particularly women, bend over backwards to defend and justify abuse and violence toward another woman because of ARMANDO’s affairs.

aside fm the fact freddy is indeed armando's best and only friend, we learn a lot of stuff about b x a and mila.
freddy would be sent to buy her diapers, meaning they were bringing that baby to work with them. hugo even makes a brief mention of mila as a child running around his workshop. she was heavily part time raised there. (probably explains why her only friend is that robot mannequin, aida).
we learn that armando took betty dancing for their first year wedding anniversary. mila would have been at least 3 months old. so there was a time when they could, well, make time for themselves. their relationship was not always like what we see in present day.
then we learn that mila's favorite book as a child was 'Alice in Wonderland' that she would make her parents read it to her every night. mila loved the book so much that she imagines her mother as 'Alice', so far as mila nicknaming her mother after the protagonist. no doubt, fm a child's point of view she saw ecomoda as a 'wonderland' and betty as 'Alice' navigating a huge world of mannequins and strange clothes and of course, those checkered floors.
but as mila got older, as she later confesses to betty, she grew to hate ecomoda bc it would take her mother away from her. at some point mila stopped romanticizing ecomoda and saw it only as the thing came between her and her parents. but now that she has a passion for design, she stresses that she wants to 'contribute' to what she believes is the family business. while betty wants to teach her that family, sans ecomoda, is what really matters to her.
mila saying 'you, armandaddy and the rabbit running after the clock' is what's happening in present day. it's no coincidence that armando was looking at video footage of them celebrating mila's 5th birthday. it's no coincidence that the pictures both betty and armando have in their office are of individual pictures they have with mila, again at her 5th birthday party. coincidentally this birthday party is with betty's side of the family. the mendoza's are nowhere to be seen.
both of them yearn to go back to a time when things were easier, when their marriage was not on the brink of divorce, where their individual relationships with their daughter (who they love very much) was not strained or complicated by ecomoda. it's up to them to get to mila and form a united front but neither of them know how to do that, especially now because ecomoda is again in a crisis.
tldr; ecomoda is the crux of the problem in the mendoza-pinzon family and we must kill it.

Mario back with his venomous words 😍
Anyways apparently everything has been hinting that Armando still struggles to set boundaries with other woman
Tumblr media
Now that I rewatched this scene I think the reason why Betty is upset is not the fact that Marcela kissed him but his reaction towards the kiss. I don’t blame her. Armando didn’t react how he should’ve!
Tumblr media
His reaction was horrible! His stupid chuckle was not it! He seemed so passive… I expected him to be angry and create a scene not this BS of a reaction!
The real Armando wouldn’t have let this slide.

Hello! I am sorry if I have any grammar or spelling mistakes. This isn't my first language
I would like to know if I am not the only one who feels that Roberto and Margarita are both really one of the main problems in Betty la fea.
Tumblr media
I think we all know about the main two problems!
- Marcela and Armando relationship.
- The Valencia and Mendoza boundaries.
But I would like to list and explain some more like:
- Classism.
- Bad paternal figures.
- Gaslighting (here comes Margarita!!).
- Their daughter.
- Marcela and their relationship.
I would truly like to explain them more, but first I would like to know the opinion of the other person's in the Fandom beacuse I belive there are certain points that people don't see in them so yeah!
Also, sorry if anyone already talked about this :(

Marcela told Margarita that Armando has an affair with a very important woman. Armando AND MARCELA are her children's
And her decides to sit down with her son and say things like "un deseo que se hace realidad. Cumplir con en anhelo póstumo de Susana e Julio Valencia... Y con tu matrimonio ratificas que estás asumiendo una vida normal, la vida de un hombre adulto, responsable que además se casa con una mujer maravillosa que te ama"
And a minute later she asks him "Dime una cosa, ¿Es que no estás segura de casarte o qué?"
YOU BITCH, you don't wanna hear the answer, the real truth, you list reasons why this wedding should happen and didn't mention the most important reason why they should be married: LOVE. A wedding is a celebration of the love of two people and it's barely mentioned.
And Armando opens a little and says that he's worried about the board meeting and other stuff. She pulls the guilt card and says "Pues ojalá estes evasivo por cosas de trabajo y no por algo más. O, mejor dicho, por alguien más"
I mean, your son's wedding is 48 hours away and he doesn't even know what clothes he's going to wear, and he and your daughter in law are clearly suffocating and distressed and you don't even know how to give a fuck advice

after some much deep rooted thought for the last three days i have finally come to the conclusion of two characters armando is a mixture of.
harvey specter and maxwell sheffield. in a sense where he matches more with harvey when it comes to aesthetic and his arrogance alone, but mirrors both him and maxwell when it comes to how slow they are in realizing their feelings for the female lead/mc that has always been at their corner.

can't believe he actually said that and she was like "that's reasonable". like the whole scene is insane. she threatens to tell on him to his parents and he threatens to call off the wedding if she does. he calls their wedding a favor and says she's less important than ecomoda and then they proceed to have hate sex.

I love the not-subtle-at-all way that the novela basically tells us Betty was Armando's mujer while Marcerla was the lover. He basically sees them as such. Betty is the one who gets to know his location, the one he shares his secrets with, the one he relies on, the one who calms him and brings him peace. Whatever misunderstanding happens, it bothers him and he actually wants to give her explanations even when she doesn't want them. He cares about her opinion of him and the peace in their relationship.
Marcela, on the other hand, doesn't get any of this from him. All she gives him is sex, basically, as he tells Calderón. It actively annoys him when she wants the explanations and treatment that, in theory, she should have because she should be Armando's woman (how tragic is that is another topic). He doesn't care what Marcela thinks, he just doesn't want the fight and repercussions, so he forces himself to give explanations and feels, in his own words, like a little kid having to report himself.
In one of Betty's imaginations, she sees Marcela saying that a man screws his mistress and makes love to his woman. By the way Armando talks about his and Betty's sex life (sweet, tender, intense, vague and undetailed), vs how he talks about his and Marcela's (sensual, sexy, we even see him describing to Mario what Marcela wore) it's rather obvious which one he was "screwing" and which one he was "making love" to.

Dang crazy how Roberto left part of his acciones to Betty! (not 100% sure but it’s pretty obvious)
Ngl if I were Marcela I’d be pissed but mostly betrayed especially since she viewed him as a second father. In her defense it would’ve been normal to expect she’d get some of Roberto’s share. He knew how much Marcela loved Ecomoda. Tho it’s too early to assume anything.
What I’m guessing is that Doña Margarita died before Roberto so who knows maybe she gave Marcela some of her shares and Marcela then felt entitled to Roberto’s as well? Or maybe Roberto did leave something for Marcela which he thought would’ve been more valuable than his acciones but Marcela didn’t viewed it as such?🤔 idk but I can already sense Marcela is going to blame Betty for not inheriting anything…
Okay prediction time!:
I think Marcela’s overall goal was to win the presidency for her son (or who ever that guy is, he’s definitely a Valencia).
I’m assuming Betty was president before she left for two years. Something happened which Marcela was able to ask for Betty’s head.
Tumblr media
While voting for the presidency she probably lost due to majority rule and Armando took over as president. She was fine with it cause she probably knew he wasn’t going to last long. With Betty out of the picture and with Roberto’s death she was certain her son will take the presidency because she assumed she will inherit some of Roberto’s acciones. She probably wouldn’t have won majority vote but she could’ve won cause her vote would’ve had more weight with Roberto’s acciones.
Obviously Betty got the acciones and became president again and which ruined Marcela’s plan…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously Marcela’s pissed and will now go above and beyond for her son to become president.
And that’s where another prediction come in!
What if she convinces her son to seduce Camila?👀 it’s history repeating itself! Camilla will go through what Betty did! A man seducing her for Ecomoda…
^but yea idk about this prediction tho💀 i can already guess that Hugo’s assistant (im assuming) will try to seduce Camila. But I don’t think it’s for Ecomoda but for another sick intention. That will be the difference between Marcela’s kid and Hugo’s assistant.
Also I wouldn’t be surprised if Marcela’s kid actually falls in love with Camila (again history repeating itself) and that’s how Marcela will get her redemption. Having to watch her son fall in love with a Mendoza just like her , watching them end up together just how she wished for herself. She will then understand that the hate she carried is a waste and will finally get along with Betty finally restoring the strong bond between the Mendoza & Valencia’s.
So yea that’s what I’m expecting as subplots for this sequel…
