I had a hard time finding a least favorite design there all good it's just I saw this one on the wiki and it was too weird and smooth for my liking!

Sonic and Shadow petting the Digimon is so cute 🥰

I mean, it's canon that Sonic and Shadow don't mind petting Chao whenever they wished to - Sonic Adventure 2 gives us that option immediately when we're in the Chao Garden, after all. And what's Digimon but a more complicated Chao-raising system? I love the idea of Sonic constantly petting Veemon, even after it Digivolves into bigger, tougher guys - Magnamon, Sagittarimon, Flamedramon, LightDramon, Gargoylemon, Veedramon, AreoVeeDramon, UlforceVeedramon...

I also like the idea of Shadow having kinship with A Digimon that was similarly experimented on, and used as a force of destruction like Shadow was. I would think that, while wary with it at first, Arkadimon never bothers to attack without Shadow's permission, and Shadow gets a feel on how Arkadimon responds - and even outright 'speaks' to Shadow (Cause let's be real, it's more interesting if Shadow and Arkadimon had more of a mutual trust through actions rather than words, and also I feel it's more IC for Arkadimon to... not have the ability to talk at all) - through what it does and what actions it takes. I like the idea of Arkadimon being more neutral to everything and everyone, while Shadow himself has a high disregard for people in general.

... Also, the idea of Arkadimon purring like a crocodile has wedged itself into my head. Thanks, @randomthefox

It's always sad to be reminded that people who aren't into digimon see it as just 'cute animal becomes mech or big-tittied woman' because it gets so much weirder than that.

Like, yes we have a lot of mechas and a lot of big tits, but then you get shit like Arkadimon (Super Ultimate) and Sephirothmon.

The dub had to censor a fucker and now we have a dude that's just an orange.

There's a whole subsection of digimon that are technically digimon in costumes, except some of them actually are the costumes, and some are just in costumes of themselves (look at Etemon, we already know that's an outfit but try to tell me they don't look near exactly the same underneath).

We have a baby that is a chicken nugget that in it's more common line can become a three-eyed gremlin of death, and in actuality can become anything the fuck else. Anything the fuck else.

We've got a fucker that's just a collection of shadows and eyes who can turn into Dagon who can turn into ten-legged prehistoric goat.

Arkadimon Perfect's entry has not been added to Digimon Reference Book, as V-Tamer designs are primarily owned by the mangaka of the manga, not Toei, and Bandai. Some of the designs that have been added to the Digimon Reference Book are presumed have their rights reabsorbed by Bandai, but the ones that didn't basically cannot be used outside of Japanese made products due to Japanese copyright laws (hence why Ulforce V-dramon: Future Mode had to be removed from Digimon Monsters Online, since that video game is developed by a South Korean company).

This is part of the reason the said mangaka was brought back for Ghost Game's designs, so he could get royalties in exchange of reuse rights for his designs (hence why Dominimon could finally be reused).

Arkadimon Perfect is more ambigious, as Arkadimon Child is in the Digimon Reference Book, which means as a derivative design, other forms can be used, but again, presumably only in Japanese produced products.

As we discussed with Konaka, if the mangaka dies, the rights will be restored to Toei, and Bandai. Japanese copyright laws, while promoting the rights of the artists in theory, in practice, all major courts generally side with corporations, since the long term survival of an IP, and money gained from it is more important than personal rights. So despite superficial similarities, the practice of the law is the opposite of USA.

(This is also why the doujinshi industry is present in Japan, and why Japanese companies prefer to use Western laws, and lawyers, because they are more restrictive, and rent-seeking.)

A similar issue exists between the Digimon's owners, Toei, and Bandai, as both sides often refuse to give the rights of the designs they created to other, hence why it takes too long for game-original, or animé-original designs to be added to the Digimon Reference Book. This tug-of-war is similar to the one between GameFreak, Creatures Inc., and Nintendo proper.

“ ah, so you're delusional. ” tongue clicked, fingers snapping in his direction as though he'd arrived to a conclusion for a question, as though he'd been pondering the mechanisms behind his behavior. he could hear the elders and their scrutiny, that he should be taking this more seriously. but it was just the two of them, shrouded in the secrecy of the forest. suguru brought out the petulance in him that he'd worked so hard — hardly — in keeping at bay in the name of being a mentor. “ i've heard that happens when you continuously spew bullshit on a daily basis. ” god, that curse fugly as hell. “ what do you do for work, again ? ” he wasn't stupid. granted, he couldn't get close to suguru with the work he'd put into his barriers, the people surrounding him, and the bullshit excuse of a cause, but he'd kept up with the news. followed the whispers, still no stranger to the residuals. so far apart in distance and in time, yet cursed to be tethered. he could still feel him.

head lifted to follow the presence of another curse, one still leashed to its warden. ends of brims twitched. he could laugh. he wanted to. was it still playing fair if he'd opted to weaponize nostalgia against satoru ? it would be a lie to say he hadn't found his tactics admirable. hands still slipped halfway into pockets, hardly ducking out of the way as the curse lashed towards him with unparalleled speed, but nothing he would've forgotten. of course, he could take this curse down in his sleep, he'd done it once before. but suguru only needed him distracted enough, and then he would disappear without a trace, without anything for satoru to cling to. “ aw, arkadimon looks the same. ” he cooed, using enough force to send it throttling backwards just so he could catch a glimpse of suguru's hair in the wind, following the speed of his movements. this one is mine. the facade of aloofness dropped for just a moment as he shouted out, “ and you are mine ! ” with a ferociousness to his words he hadn't accounted for, with a desperation weighted with years of grief. it took him by surprise, enough that he hurled himself up towards the trees, using them as leverage to catch up.

the trepidation rising in his chest was not out of fear but excitement. a feeling he hadn't felt since before suguru's departure, and he despised that it was him who would reignite that spark once again. it was the matched challenge that he'd missed, knowing his confidence had merit to it. “ are you open to feedback on what i think your stupid master plan is ? ” he called down to him, almost directly above him, choosing to go after the new curse first, only for his spawn to catch up and nearly tackle him to the ground, evaded by infinity, dust clouding around them. with a flick of his fingers, he aimed at the trees over suguru's path, aiming for them to fall and block his path.

something stirred deep within him, the bristle of the thrill of a fight finally worth the effort he no longer felt the need to give. enemies would come and go, most of them now powerless and money - hungry, set to believe in his performance of religion that only served to support the first building blocks for his new world order - a world in which his people, their people would be free from beneath the boot of human tyranny, grief and misfortune no longer the mounts of their early graves. gentle breeze brushing his hair beyond his shoulder, it lifted in a shrug, nonchalant and unbothered by the challenge presented. “ i don't need to beat you. ” tone something wistful, however disappointed on its tail that satoru may truly believe that for suguru to lose to him would ever truly count as defeat. “ and i won't be going anywhere with you, you know that. ” with the gentle roll of his eyes, lavender hues that had been glued to his form slid easily to the curse, still roaming aimlessly without much care for their presence, perhaps sensing the quick death that would be attributed to their entwined power. if he ignored the distance between them that existed, both physical and of the heart, it felt just as it did when they were young, brimming with hope and bound to the dream that the world they lived in, they swore to protect. though the promise stayed the same, their ideals looked different, now.

“ it's called growing up. ” self - assurance never suguru's issue, though where satoru in their youth had been chastised for his dauntless nature, his modesty had kept the scale in balance though tipped in his favour. “ you should try it sometime. i see you still don't know when to play fair. ” unknown to him if he still saw within him the boy from his youth, unable to fathom the lengths at which they had grown apart. following in his stead, a step taken towards the curse, calling upon the void and letting it split the atoms of space behind him and allow his chosen arsenal to crawl out of the bleak depths. some of them named by satoru's own will - call him nostalgic, but something within him yearned to know if he remembered. “ i told you, this one's mine. ” cocking his head to the side, lips split in a predatory smile promising challenge. three special - grades and only two would leave together, suguru would be sure that it was him to exorcise the curse and swallow it down, let it fester within him until such time he had use for it. hadn't come all this way to leave empty - handed, wouldn't return so if he could help it. anyone else presented with the opportunity to go head - to - head with satoru gojo would stand with shaking legs, an even shakier will, but the two of them had long ago forged their own way of settling their disputes. if suguru remembered the rules, he could only hope they remained ingrained the same in satoru's marrow, too. “ and now i'm warning you. ”

Sonic and Shadow just... calmly petting Veemon and Arkadimon respectfully, not minding the two aren't exactly Chao for a brief moment, and both Digimon instantly are like 'I'm in heaven' when they get petted.
