Spoilers for the new WTC episodes below cut, particularly for Renato's route:

The way I screamed and cried and threw up. Aside from the obvious (the gaggery of a lifetime that is Renato's new outfit and hair), his love for Nova is so pure :( I adore the way Arina tackled his faith; so respectful and so beautiful. For a while I've felt uncomfortable thinking about religion and my relationship with it but Renato's route, genuinely, helped me find some comfort in what I've always rejected. I went into his route expecting it to be enjoyable at best, and Renato as a character - just fine. I'm happy I was proven wrong: Renato is an outstandingly wonderful character. He falls in love with Nova and is tormented by his affection for her and his devotion to the Church; instead of abandoning either he redefines his faith to fit both into his life. He knows what his actions will cost him but he risks his life for Nova, nearly dies but agrees to be cursed at the expense of the tranquility that silence brings. He goes through so much suffering, confusion, but he never stops being kind and he never abandons his faith. He finds beauty and a new purpose in his curse - something that requires so much inner strength to do - and he chooses his own path. He isn't committed to the Church nor the Alliance but to God, and he seeks to help those who cannot be heard by the dead nor living. And through it all, he loves Nova like it's in his nature to do so and I find that so, so beautiful. Arina I bow before you and Renato: I bow before you.
