I was just curious if the Lunar Boy cover was inspired at all by that one poster for the animated Disney Little Mermaid movie, with her on the rock silhouetted by the moon behind her! Or maybe just a happy coincidence? Either way, it's a very beautiful and cute cover!!

you're so right! The fairytale vibes of it all!! This one's a huge coincidence since for this cover we were actually pulling from an illustration by Max Prentis!

But it's funny that the final cover has a lot more in common with the Little Mermaid poster. I love that though, since Lunar Boy is very much a modern fairytale retelling and has a lot of similar themes to the Little Mermaid (one of my fav fairytales tbh).

Okay so I wanted to do another drawing for my favorite, “Aim and Ignite”. This time it’s one my favorite details from the story: the charmed picture (because snape is shy about how much he loves his little family) on Sev’s desk of Lily and baby Ariel 🥹.

HERES THE PART WHERE I GET MAD THO. I DID A REALLY DETAILED DRAWING OF LILY HOLDING THE BABY AND YOU COULD SEE SO MUCH, BUT THEN I STUPIDLY DOWN SIZED IT AND THE FREAKING PROGRAM MADE IT ALL PIXILY WHEN I TRIED TO ENLARGE IT AGAIN. so I’m sorry, it’s not as detailed as it was supposed to be 😭. (Please tell me u can still see baby Ariel’s tiny pig tails, that was my favorite part teehee)

i wanted to do something with epic 2013 cause i dont see much with it often, as well as something with wir ariel cause despite the princess section being underwhelming and clearly a marketing strategy, ariel looked Very cut (also i wanted to make her dress green)

the proportion differences are Nuts even after i edited some stuff on her face but what can ya do

if i remember correctly the idea behind it was ariel was ronin's daughter who had a crush on nod or something like that
