I have a prompt for one of the twins! Say Aries or Arild (you can choose which one) Got into a fight with Kylo and Hux over some ball they wanted to go to. They want to go, and their dad's are saying no, so one of them decides to sneak to the ball, only for them to have such a negative experience they run home crying to their dads.
The youngest of the First Order’s princes has the palace in uproar.
Approximately an hour ago, Emperor Hux went into Arild’s room to check on him after their unpleasant argument this evening but found his bed empty and his dress robes missing from his wardrobe. A speederbike has been stolen from the hangar. There is no doubt in the Emperor’s mind as to where his teenage son has disappeared to.
“The ball,” Hux says, face in his hands. “He’s gone to the ball across the city. The one that I told him that he was forbidden to go to. The leader of Doruen IV is hosting the damned thing, Ren. He despises us. If he finds out that our son is there, he’ll kill him. He won’t hesitate.”
Kylo steps up to his husband’s throne and falls to his knees before him, bowing his head. “We’ll find him, Hux. My Knights are already prepping my ship. Ari can’t have been gone long.”
Hux wishes he could believe his beloved Knight but his once -steady hands are shaking in balled-up fists, unnerved by his son’s disappearance. He and Kylo have faced danger before, they have fought tooth and nail against their enemies and nearly lost each other a few times but the fear that stirs like a storm in Hux’s belly is different than all of that; this is his son.
“Go,” Hux says, scrunching his eyes closed and pulling his hand free from Kylo’s hold. “Please find him, Ren.”
But as soon as the Hound stands and turns to exit the throne room, the large doors on the opposite side swish open and reveal the tired form of Arild Hux-Ren, standing in torn robes and covered in mud and leaves.
“Arild!” His parents cry out in unison, rushing towards him to take him into their arms, almost crushing the boy in the middle of their embrace.
“D-Dad. F-Father. Can’t breathe.”
Hux and Kylo pull away promptly but Hux quickly takes hold of his Ari’s shoulders, looking him up and down.
“Are you hurt? What happened? Why do you have half of the forest in your hair?” Hux gently pulls out a couple of crumpled leaves from Ari’s mess of brown curls, checking for blood.
Tears stain the young lad’s cheeks. He sniffles, wiping his nose on the sleeve of his dress robes. The silk fabric is torn in multiple places, showing off grazes and cuts that litter his skin. Though he looks like he hasn’t sustained any terrible injuries, Hux doesn’t need to be Force-sensitive to be able to sense his son’s anguish.
“I wanted to go to the ball,” Ari says. “I wanted to see what it was like outside of the palace. I wanted to pretend to be someone else for the night and not just a prince. So I…stole a speederbike. And then I crashed it. And then they wouldn’t let me into the ball because I was a mess. So I tried to find another way in but I somehow started a fire in the gardens. I tried to alert someone but they knew who I was. They said your name, Father. They said some horrible things about you and Dad. So I ran. And now I’m here. And I’m so sorry for everything.”
The boy begins to cry, looking down to the ground so that his hair falls into his face but his parents have already seen his tears. His shoulders tremble as Hux takes him into his arms, pressing a kiss to the top of his head.
“I don’t care about any of that,” Hux says. “All I care about it that you’re home and you’re safe. Look at me, Ari. Do you understand?”
Ari bites his lip and suppresses a big sob. Through his curtain of fallen hair, he looks at Hux with heavy brown eyes—Kylo’s eyes. “Y-yes, Father.”
“There’s a good lad,” Hux says, and Kylo ruffles Ari’s hair. “Now, let’s get you to medbay. Are you alright to walk?”
“I think so.”
“I don’t,” Kylo says. “Come here.”
And Kylo turns around so that his son may hop onto his back and be carried piggyback-style across the palace.
Hux smiles, watching them go. Regardless of how old his boys are, they will always be his children.

Prompt: exiled kylux with their kids learning how to live like ordinary people, if you don't mind.
The sounds of little bare feet running through the house wakes Hux from sleep whilst dawn is still in its youth outside the windows of their farmhouse, its rays barely strong enough to shine through the curtains, yet the twins are awake and ready to start their day.
“Dad! Mum! It’s the first day of spring! Wake up!”
Hux groans, having had a particularly late night with his husband and having hoped that he could have a lie in this morning but seven year old twins, Ares and Arild, have their own agenda it seems. The boys burst into their bedroom with an overwhelming amount of positive energy, too much for their parents to deal with before noon, so Hux keeps his eyes closed and snuggles underneath the warm duvets as Ares and Arild jump excitedly at the end of the bed.
“Ren,” Hux sighs, rolling over to face Kylo who’s still snoring. “Ren. Your sons want you.”
“Mm,” Kylo groans, waking up but keeping his eyes closed. “Before sunrise, they’re your sons.”
“Daaaad!” Ares leaps up onto the bed, flopping himself down between his parents and pouting with disappointment. “Dad. You promised we go out first thing to see the new spring sunrise!”
“That’s true, Ren,” Hux says, hugging Ari—the quieter of the twins—when he lies down on top of him. “You promised.”
Ares waits with held breath, his nose pressed against his father’s, making Ari giggle.
“Breakfast first,” Kylo mutters.
“Yes!” The twins leap from the bed and dart out of the room, talking excitedly about what animals they may see on their trek uphill through the neighbouring forest to the very top of the hill where a grand vista of the valley waits; it’s where Kylo proposed to Hux almost eight years ago.
The silver wedding ring upon Hux’s finger glints as he cups his husband’s cheek and tucks his dark hair behind his ear, admiring the few greys that have appeared in the black strands.
“I’ve had better wake up calls than that,” Kylo says, finally opening his eyes.
“I did have a rather pleasant morning planned for us before the boys woke up but looks like they beat me to it,” Hux teases, giving Kylo a kiss on the cheek. “I’ll see to breakfast. You make the bed and take a shower, hm?”
“Yes, General,” Kylo pouts, stealing another kiss before Hux gets up and adorns his slippers and robe, fastening it tightly around his soft middle. He can hear the boys in the kitchen, rattling plates and bowls as they prepare the table for breakfast but Hux’s mind is drifting, thinking back to the life that he once thought that he would never give up.
General. He hasn’t gone by that title for years, not since the battle of Crait, not since he discovered he was pregnant on that same night that Kylo revealed that Snoke’s haunting voice inside of his mind hadn’t gone away despite the old creature being dead. With twins on the way, Hux remembers being held so tightly in Kylo’s arms as they decided to leave it all and go into exile, into hiding, for the sake of their future.
It had hurt at first, leaving his life’s work behind but upon finding and renovating this farmhouse on a quaint and beautiful planetoid in the Inner Rim and upon having the twins, Hux discovered that everything that his heart had desired was here, not on the bridge of a star destroyer.
He walks into the kitchen to find that Ares and Arild have already dressed themselves and are trying to prepare for breakfast, with the table set and the kettle on.
“Ares,” Hux chastises, raising an eyebrow as the eggs levitate from their place in the cupboard and into the pan on the stove. “Be careful.”
“Dad said using my powers was okay,” the boy pouts, frowning.
“It is okay, darling,” Hux says, sweeping his son off his feet and lifting him to sit on the kitchen worktop. “Inside of the house.”
“But why?”
Ari hugs Hux’s leg, clearly in need of a share of the attention that his brother is getting. Hux lifts the boy to sit next to his twin, using his hands to stroke through their hair and then kiss both of them on their foreheads.
“Because there are some bad people in the galaxy who may want to hurt us,” Hux says softly. “And if they saw you—either of you—using the Force then they’d be afraid. People hurt people when they’re afraid.”
“But, Dad does it. He uses his powers aaaall the time.” Ares folds his arms.
“Your Father is a law unto himself,” Hux scoffs. “I’ve known him for almost fourteen years and I’ve never been able to tell him what to do even when he knows that I’m right.”
“Mama is always right,” Ari says, nodding.
“Correct, my darling,” Hux smiles though it fades when he remembers what an outsider might do if he sees one of his boys using their Force skills; their cover would be blown and their peaceful life would be uprooted. “But…he has more control over his powers than you do. You’re both young and still learning. I know it isn’t fair but your Father and I only want to protect you. Understand?”
“Yes, Mum,” the twins say together, and both of them reach out simultaneously to hug him.
“Good boys,” he says, taking them both into his arms, kissing the tops of their heads. They’re his galaxy, both so beautiful in their own unique ways and so different despite being twins. Ares may be more attune to the Force than Ari but Ari wears his heart on his sleeve just like their father, feeling to truly and deeply even without a strong connection to the Force.
“How dare you have hugs like this without me,” Kylo says, stepping into the kitchen wearing his trekking gear though his hair is still damp from his shower.
“You said that they were my sons before dawn,” Hux says, refusing to let go. “Go away, Ren.”
“No, Dad!” Ares laughs, reaching a hand out. “Join in!”
Kylo does, enveloping them all in his armspan and cuddling them, smiling so widely that Hux can feel it against his own cheek.
Exile may not have been his first choice for the rest of his life but he wouldn’t change anything about it now. Ordinary does not mean inferior.

Could I possibly request something with one of the Kylux twins spending time with Hux?
Maybe one of them gets sick and clings to Hux.
Despite all of his power and wealth, the great Emperor Hux can’t protect his youngest son from a simple illness. It may not be the most severe strain of Osean Flu that Hux has ever seen but it’s bad enough that young teen Arild has got to stay in bed and rest.
It’s the second day of the boy’s sickness and he’s tucked up in bed, unable to hold a meal down or gather enough energy to even lift his head from the pillow.
“He’s faking it,” Ares says, folding his arms. He stands at the foot of his brother’s bed beside his father, ignoring his mother’s orders that they must be quiet whilst in Ari’s room because of his headache. “No one would refuse panna cakes and syrup for breakfast, no matter how sick they are.”
“Ares,” Kylo chastises quietly, ruffling the boy’s sandy-brown hair. “Hush. Your brother really isn’t feeling well.”
From where he sits on the edge of Ari’s bed, Hux turns to give his other son a cold look, having hoped that Ares would be a little more sympathetic to his sick twin since they have such a strong connection through the Force. Or perhaps, Ares is childishly jealous that Ari gets to lie in bed all day and be waited upon.
“Do you need anything, my darling?” Hux asks, turning his attention back to the youngest of the twins and stroking back his dark hair from his forehead.
Ari snuggles down beneath his blankets, rolling over onto his side, “I just want to sleep.”
“We’ll leave,” Kylo says, wrapping his arm around Ares’s shoulder to guide the grumpy teen out and turning the lights down to 20% before they leave. “Remember your meditation training, Ari. Reach through the Force to find peace if sleep alludes you.”
“Thanks, Dad,” Ari mutters but Hux sees the lad roll his eyes at his father’s advice. With Ares being the one stronger with the Force of the two, Ari doesn’t care much for training but Kylo still tries his best to treat his sons equally in their Force-training despite Ari’s lack of power.
“I’ll be in my office,” Hux says, tucking Ari in so that he’s a little cosier. He leans in and presses a quick kiss to the boy’s forehead before standing up to leave.
“Uh, Mum?”
Hux stops, turns. Ari has managed to sit up in bed, looking more like a lost child than a sick teenager as he hugs his comforter to his chest and stares at his mother with pleading eyes.
“Will you stay with me? Please? I don’t want to sleep alone.”
Hux’s heart melts, “Of course, dear one.”
Ari smiles, settling back down beneath his blankets whilst Hux takes off his boots and climbs onto the bed beside his son, becoming the big spoon as Ari snuggles in against his mother’s chest.
“We’ll have you back to your normal self in no time. Ari,” Hux says, kissing Ari’s head. “But for now, dream pleasant dreams. I’m not going anywhere.”
Ari hums contently, sighing as he obviously doses already as he answers in a sleepy voice, “Thank you, Mama.”
The boy hasn’t called Hux that since he was a child but it’s a beautiful sound that makes Hux’s heart flutter. With his son resting safely and soundly in his arms, Hux has the best nap that he’s has in a very long while.

Finally Arabelle is born. She is a beautiful baby. Ares and Arild want to protect their sister. If someone wants to visit to see the new baby, the boys almost attack the visitor. "Stay away from our sister!" Mitaka almost drops the present for the baby. "Boys enough! You little rascals!" Ren grabs them and hold them under his arms. "It's okay Mitaka, you may enter."
Oh my goodness! 💕 The twins were so protective of Hux when he was pregnant and they’re just as protective of little Arabelle when she’s born! Hux and the newborn baby are in bed, with Hux sat up and holding her whilst she sleeps, and the boys are standing guard! Hux thinks it’s adorable how they’re fussing over their baby sister and he hopes that they’ll grow up to be close as teens and adults.
They run to the door when someone knocks, almost knocking each other over! Ares presses the ‘open’ button and he stands next to his twin, both of them stomping their feet and yelling for the visitor to go away! Their Mama and their sister need to rest and no one is going to go near them to hurt them!
Poor Mitaka! He nearly dropped the fruit basket for Hux and the box of goodies for the new little girl!
But luckily Kylo is there to intercept his sons’ before they can literally charge at poor Mitaka and tackle him to the ground. The boys fidget in Kylo’s arms and try to wriggle free to attack Mitaka but they can’t escape Kylo’s hold.
“Boys,” Kylo sighs, rolling his eyes. He puts them both down and kneels down to their level. “You have to stop this.“
“But the new baby is only little,” Ares says. “She can’t fight for herself!
“Yeah, Papa. What if someone wants to hurt her like people wanna hurt you and Mama?” Ari asks.
“Then we’ll all be there to help,” Kylo takes the twins into his arms and hugs them. “But you know that Mitaka and the rest of Mama’s officers haven’t come here to hurt the baby or your mother. They’re here to say hello to her, like you two did yesterday when she arrived.”
“But—”
“No, boys. Listen to me. We have to stop attacking Mama’s friends. Nothing is going to hurt Arabelle whilst we’re here. Alright?”
“Yes, Papa,” the twins say.
It’s only later that Kylo finds out that the corridor outside of their chambers is littered with threatening notes and drawings that Ares and Ari have created and stuck there!!

Ares and Arild have found the resistance hideout. Their mission is complete or not. Arild wants to contact the FO but Ares isn't sure about this. Ares thinks the young resistance pilot is cute.
“Wait, Ari. Not yet.”
Ares can sense his twin’s confusion at his order to halt their report back to their parents but there’s a disturbance in the Force that Arild won’t have sensed; Ares has.
The teens lie on their fronts upon a cliff edge, gazing down at a small camp set up in the lonely ravine, careful not to reveal themselves to the Resistance crew below. Their numbers grow smaller with each passing day that Supreme Leader Ren and Emperor Hux seek to annihilate their treachery from the galaxy, sending scouts across the stars to locate their remaining camps.
Ares and Arild seem to have found their main one. From the looks of the markings on the two X-Wings, Generals Poe and Finn are here, which means Rey Skywalker is too. The First Order needs to know about this.
“We’ve found their hideout,” Ari says, sounding more and more like Hux every day with his commanding tone. “We’ve got to be quick before they realise that we’ve found them. Mum said not to intervene. Just track and report.”
“I don’t want to intervene,” Ares says, snatching the binoculars from his brother’s hand. “I just don’t think we should report it yet.”
“Why not?”
Ares falters. He can’t exactly pinpoint his reasoning but the Force is pulling him towards their camp—just like it has been for the entire duration of this missionbut in a gentle tugging manner like a piece of invisible string tying him to something—or someone—down there, someone who isn’t an enemy.
His father’s words echo inside of his mind about how the Light may distract him from his destiny but nothing about the Force’s call seems distracting, it feels empowering.
“Ares?”
Ari is poking his arm but Ares is too busy gazing through the high-spec binoculars at the young boy emerging from one of the teepee-style tents. He looks to be the same age as the twins—late teens—and tall with broad-shoulders covered by a khaki-coloured jacket. Ares watches with held breath as he pulls on a pair of gloves over his dark-skinned hands and grabs a toolkit from beside his tent. He’s got a lightsaber and a blaster clipped to his belt, both swinging as he strides to one of the X-wings with a white and orange BB unit rolling happily at his feet.
Ares has never seen someone like this before, someone who makes his stomach flutter and his heart pound.
“Luka!”
The young boy jumps. Ares looks to the source of the voice and sees General Finn emerging from another tent, calling out to the boy at work. The two begin talking and it becomes clear to Ares that the boy must be Finn’s son; his handsome, strong son.
“Ares!”
The binoculars fall from Ares’s grip and begin falling into the ravine but he manages to reach out with the Force and catch them before they can tumble against the rock and sit disturb the camp below.
“You gundark!” Ares says through gritted teeth, shuffling away from the edge and standing up. “They almost saw us!”
“What’s wrong with you?” Ari huffs, following suit. He stands opposite his twin in displeasure, arms folded across his chest. “You’ve never hesitated on a mission like this. I usually have to hold you back from charging into battle! We need to call this in, Ares. Now!”
“Fine!” Ares turns on his heels, his hooded cape floating out behind him dramatically as he storms back to their ship, fists clenched.
He doesn’t know why the Force guided him to this Resistance boy—Luka—but it feels important. Ares knows that this won’t be the last time that he sees him.

Yes! I’m super excited but how about the twins going on their first mission? Maybe it can be separate missions and they worry about the other?
We all know that Kylo and Hux are gonna be a little worried as well.
In the dead of the cold night on Emia Prime, Arild Hux-Ren stalks his prey. The planet’s ambassador has been extraordinarily difficult in his negotiations with the First Order, dragging his heels in meetings and even insulting Emperor Hux in front of the entire cabinet. From what Arild has heard, it was only a result of mother’s harsh hand upon father’s shoulder that stopped the latter from grabbing his lightsaber and running the ambassador through.
Instead, the ambassador’s life will end at the hands of the Emperor and Supreme Leader’s son and his elite, sharpshooter skills.
The teen is dressed in black and hides high upon a cliffside that overlooks the ambassador’s private balcony. Ari has spent the last two days studying the man’s nightly routine, finding that he rises twice in the middle of the night to smoke a cigar on his balcony before sweeping back inside of his grand estate.
Ari is already in position for the night; his high-spec blaster rifle is on its bipod and the targeting scope is locked onto the balcony, his gaze peering down the scope and his mind concentrating hard on the important task at hand.
Or so it should be.
Ari sighs. This is his very first mission alone and all he can think about is his brother. Across the galaxy, his twin brother—Ares—is on his first solo mission too, hunting an ancient Force artefact on Kihima without the aid of their parents. With Ares being the more Force sensitive of the brothers, it had made sense for him to be assigned that task whilst sniper-shooting Arild was sent on this assassination mission.
And as confident as Ari is in both his own and his brother’s skills, he wishes that Ares was here with him.
‘Not that Ares could be quiet enough for this,’ Ari smirks, knowing how much his twin takes after their father for his angry and sudden outbursts whereas Ari seethes quietly like their mother. Ares would be more likely to charge into the estate with his twin lightsabers and annihilate everything in his path until he’s so deep in the power of the dark side that he’d be unreachable and unstoppable.
Ari hopes that his brother will never become so powerful that he can’t be brought back from the shadows.
The comlink on Ari’s wrist vibrates suddenly and startles him, touching the switch on his earpiece to accept the incoming transmission.
“Muuum!” Ari says with a roll of his eyes. “I said I can handle it.”
“Relax, Ari. It’s me.”
“Ares?” Ari pulls his gaze away from the scope and looks to the stars, somehow feeling closer to his twin as he sees their glow.
“I can feel your worry from across the galaxy like a beacon,” Ares says. “I’m fine, little brother.”
“Don’t call me that. You’re 90 seconds older than me.”
“91. Which makes me the older one,” Ares says smugly, making Ari thankful that they are indeed planets apart or else Ares would have received a filthy look for pulling the ‘older brother’ card on him. “Ari?”
“What?”
“Seriously. Calm your mind. You’re projecting so loudly onto me that I can’t hear myself think.”
Ari scoffs, “Calm my mind? You sound like Dad when he’s talking to Mum.”
“But it’s true. Mum is Force null so he doesn’t even know what it’s like to project but you? You’ve got Dad’s power in you too.”
“Not as much as you have.”
“Maybe not, Ari, but you still have it. And the potential. You still reach out to me through the Force even if you don’t mean to.”
“I’m worried about you, Ares. Is that such a bad thing?”
“No. No, it’s not. But give me a little credit. I can handle a little retrieval mission like this.”
“I know you can, Air. I’m sorry. I just…”
“It’s alright, kid. Having you there, inside my head, is comforting. We’ll just have to train you how to not project your every thought onto me, huh?”
“I guess.”
“So, you do what you gotta do and I’ll finish up here and I’ll see you at home? Dad said we can take the new TIEs out for a test run.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. As long as Mum doesn’t see.” There’s a pause, and Ari can almost hear his brother’s smile. “We’ll be alright, Ari.”
“Always,” Ari smiles too, feeling warmth in his chest. “Good luck, Ares. See you soon.”
The comlink clicks off just as Ari presses his eye against the scope of his rifle and the ambassador emerges in a velvet robe and his cigar hanging from his mouth.
Through the Force, Ari can feel his brother’s proudness of him like the heat of a sun, fuelling him. Even apart, they’re together.
He takes the shot.

Do you have headcanons about Ares and Arild? About them training, saving the galaxy, protecting each other. Telling secrets.
Always! (past headcanons can be found here!)
• Ares is more like Kylo, Ari is more like Hux. They’re both Force sensitive but Ari is nowhere near as strong as his twin. Ares reminds Kylo a lot of his younger self, being so powerful and not knowing it & not knowing what to do.
• They share everything with each other, even their secrets. They may have separate bedrooms but they’re always together, playing or studying together. Their bond is so strong in the Force that they often confuse their own feelings with each other’s. So, if Ares is sad then Ari will think that he’s sad but he isn’t, he’s just feeling his brother’s emotions so strongly.
• Whilst Ari may not be as strong with the Force as Ares, Kylo is still insistent that he learn how to use a lightsaber in combat and how to use the Force alongside it. To Kylo’s surprise, Ari is a lot better at lightsaber fighting than Ares despite his lack of power. Ares is a berserker, swinging madly and violently, where as Ari is a lot more focussed. Hux watches them and points out that Ari fights a lot like Hux fences.
• But Ari can get very jealous of his brother. Ares is cocky, always flaunting his powers and showing Ari what he can do with the Force. And because Ari can’t do that, he tries to isolate himself in Hux’s study and throw himself into studying. He loves engineering and languages particularly, so he tries to compensate for his lack of Force knowledge with real knowledge. He wants to become a strong military leader just like Hux. Ares wants to become a Ren, just like Kylo.

Do the Kylux twins get into any fights? Maybe one is too protective of the other and it causes a rift?
I think they’d argue more than fight but they’re mostly due to misunderstandings. Arild feels inferior to his twin a lot of the time because he isn’t as Force sensitive as Ares is. And that isn’t helped by the fact that Ares is very protective of his ‘little’ brother--despite there only being 91 seconds between them--and always wants to keep Ari away from harm.
So they argue. Ari slaps his brother’s hand away from his shoulder when Ares suggests that only he go on Father’s next mission with him to a temple because it’s said to be littered with traps. Ari can handle himself and he knows that he can; he may not be as adept with the Force but it only means that Ari has trained harder with his lightsaber and blaster. Ares doesn’t understand that.

Hux and Arild spending time together hcs?
• Hux and his youngest son (younger than his twin brother by 91 seconds!) have a natural bond because they’re so similar. Ari isn’t as Force sensitive as his brother so by default, he spends more time with the Force null parent.
• So Ari has always gravitated towards Hux when given the choice. As a child, he’d rather sit in Hux’s lap and listen to him read than play pilots with his brother & Kylo. And even though Ari’s Force sensitivity isn’t strong, what strength he does have is amplified by the deep connection he has to Hux.
• When they do spend time together, Ari loves it. Not only does Hux act as the boy’s personal tutor in academia but he teaches him some aerobics and gymnastics skills, something that Kylo doesn’t impart on Ares, Ari’s Force sensitive twin brother. Hux was the elite fencing champion so he shows Ari how to hold his own against an opponent with a lightsaber. So whilst Ares uses the Force to fight, Ari is unmatched in agility.
• And Hux understands Ari’s feelings of inadequacy sometimes. Hux loves both of his sons just the same but because of Ares’s cockiness about his power, Ari can sometimes feel like the lesser of the two. Mama Hux is always there to take his son into an embrace and tell him that strength in the Force doesn’t not equate to greatness. It’s proved by the fact that Kylo may be Supreme Leader but it’s Grand Marshal Hux who is the heart of the functioning of the First Order. Ari never feels inadequate after he’s spend some time with his mother.

In the twin boys au; what if Arild had a realization that what his family if doing is wrong, simelar to Finn in tfa? He runs away and have a total epiphany a la ‘let it go’ ( i mean drama runs in the family) But bc his whole life the resistanse Was painted so negetivly he dosent imediatly run to them, But travel alone to figure himself out and what he wants, not what others expects from him, and he just feels free? How does his family react?
I can totally imagine Ari running away from everything because he doesn’t know what’s right and what’s wrong. He feels so conflicted. At the core of it all, he thinks that the war is pointless and there doesn’t need to be any fighting so he doesn’t want to side with either the FO or the Resistance.
So he runs away. He’s young and clever with a plethora of skills that will definitely come in handy whilst he’s alone—fixing & piloting ships, hand-to-hand combat, fluent in a handful of widely spoken languages—so that he doesn’t have to depend on anyone else. He’ll miss his family terribly but he can’t feel suffocated anymore. He doesn’t know where he’s going but as he steals a ship and jumps into hyperspace in the middle of the Finalizer’s night shift, he knows that he’s free. He can be who he wants to be, not a Ren or a General or a TIE pilot or a sniper or anything else that his parents want him to be.
But his family are bereft. Kylo and his Knights go searching for Ari whilst Hux doesn’t sleep because of the worry and stress that his son’s sudden departure has caused. Kylo and Hux both blame themselves for Ari’s running away. They can’t understand why he’s gone, the note that Ari left just said ‘I need to do this’ with his name signed. Ares just turns quiet, becomes distant from his parents. He just wants to be alone all the time, always carrying or wearing one of Ari’s capes around with him for comfort. They’ve been inseparable since they were babies and, even now in their late teens, it hurts Ares to be apart from his brother.

I’ve been seeing your headcanons about the kylux twins and I’m adoring them. I know that Ani, Luke, and evening Han were great pilots. Kylo as well. I was wondering do the twins share that love for flying?
I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying this AU! ❤️
- Ares & Arild are both gifted pilots too. They both have exceptional skills behind the controls of TIE Fighters though Kylo & Hux will never allow their boys to fly during a battle, only in First Order space for practice. And even that is lucky. If Hux had his way, the boys would only be allowed in the simulators!
- But rather than be competitive all the time, they often help each other out. A natural flare for piloting shines in Ares because of his Force powers but because Ari hasn’t got that, he isn’t as good as his brother--though he’s still amazing! So Ares uses his own experience to help teach his twin about what it’s like to pilot with the Force so it can improve his skills. Ari ends up being a better pilot than Ares!
- But with skill (and Kylo’s Solo/Skywalker blood!), there also comes showboating! Ares shows off a lot when he’s out in a TIE. Maybe he even steals his father’s TIE Silencer to prove that he’s more than capbable of leading a squadron into battle but he gets too cocky and something goes wrong and he crashes back into the hangar bay and gets hurt!

Okay, I just wanted to say that I’m loving the Kylux Twins AU. I’m always eager to see new hcs on them! P.S I was the anon that asked about their piloting skills! I figured it might be something interesting since it sort of runs in the family!
I’m so glad you’re liking this AU! And thank you so much for your ask, I loved answering it! I personally headcanon Hux to be a good pilot too so these boys have got piloting in their blood! 💕

Do you have headcanons about the mischievous Kylux twins?
• Ares is the older twin—by ninety one seconds—but he doesn’t let his brother forget it, always labelling himself as the older brother rather than just ‘brother’. It annoys Arild to no end.
• They’re dizygotic/fraternal twins so they’re non-identical and just like any other siblings but without an age gap. Ares has inherited Hux’s lighter hair whilst Arild has Kylo’s dark hair.
• Even as babies, they were inseperable. Kylo and Hux often had to put them in the same crib so they could sleep next to each other and feel safe. They took their first steps together and Ares’s first word was ‘Ari’. Arild’s first word was ‘Dada.’
• Arild’s nickname is ‘Ari’, though he only allows his brother and his parents to use it. If anyone else uses it then a glare from him is enough to put them in their place—just like Hux. Ares doesn’t like his name being shortened at all and will get angry if people do.
• They argue and compete like all siblings do but they’re fiercely protective of each other. When Ares was once injured in an ambush attack on the FO base that they were on, Arild almost went into a dark Force-trance trying to fight the attackers and save his brother. He may not be as strong with the Force as Ares but that doesn’t mean that he can’t wield it.
• Both are strong in the Force but Ares is stronger though less able to control them. Arild has a good working knowledge of the Force where as Ares prefers the physical strengths that being Force sensitive brings.
• Ares has a red lightsaber, Arild has an orange one. They both built their lightsabers with Kylo.

Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides is another Kylux lovechild.
Absolutely!!!!! I saw this photo of him on Twitter and thought the same thing! He’s even dressed like a cross between Kylo’s robes and Hux’s uniform? I love it!

Does Hux have that one daddy look that the twins behave right away?
He does! And it looks a bit like this!

Ares and Arild are getting tested if they are a omega or a alpha. First it's Arild's turn. "Wish me luck brother, if I'm a alpha I will be invincible!." Ares snorts. "Yeah sure little brother." Arild gets annoyed."Stop saying that! It was only ninety one seconds!" Ares smirks. "I know." After 10 minutes Arild comes out the lab. "I'm a alpha!" Arild moves his hips. Ares is a little embarrassed by his brother. (1/5)
"Now it's your turn. Good luck my brother!" Ares gets tested. It takes longer than 10 minutes. What's going on? Ares storms out of the lab and runs past his brother. "Ares are you okay? Ares? What happened?" Ares doesn't answer at all. He locks himself up into his room. "Ares? Open the door. So I guess you're a omega. It's okay brother, I will protect you. Ares? Please answer." (2/5)
Ares can't believe it that he is a omega. He has the force, he is the older brother so why did this happen? "Go away Arild! Leave me alone!" Arild wants to hug his brother and tell him everything is going to be alright. Their parents have to know, they have the right to know. Ares tries to hold his tears. He is so afraid. (3/5)
He heard awful stories about omegas. And why is his brother a alpha? They are twins right? But than again they don't have the same hair colour. Arild tells their parents the news. Hux runs as fast as he can towards Ares room. Nobody saw the general run like that before. "Ares? It's dad, open the door." Ares gets up from his bed and opens the door. Hux gets inside and closes the door behind them. (4/5)
"Daddy." Hux gives Ares a big hug. "It's okay, Arild told us." Ares doesn't want to cry in front of his dad. His dad is a omega, he doesn't cry. He is a proud man. "Don't be upset, be proud. Omega's are more beautiful." Ares looks at Hux. "But the stories about omegas." Hux sees the fear in Ares eyes. "Ares, you have the force, you are mine and Kylo Ren's son. We are very proud of you. Everything is going to be alright." (5/5)
Oh my gosh, I never think to add ABO stuff to AU’s like this but it makes them so much better! ❤️
Poor Ares. The horror stories about the way the galaxy views and treats omegas really upsets him, even before he found out that he is an omega. He knows that Dad is an omega and he’s so strong, so intelligent. Ares doesn’t believe in himself.
But Hux had an inclination that at least one of his twin boys would be an omega like him. It’s unlikely that an omega mother will birth two alphas, though Kylo thought that they would be. Ares tells Hux that he’s worried that he’s disappointed their Papa. Hux hugs him and kisses his forehead, telling him that Kylo would never be disappointed with him, ever. They’ll do whatever he wants them to do to help him--heat suppressants etc--but Hux doesn’t let Ares go until he knows that being an omega isn’t a bad thing at all. ❤️
