Such Lovely Thunder
(Your favorite) x reader
A small little drab since I just saw a GLORIOUS thunderstorm and just finished King of Greed by Anna Huang. I'm in love with love ❤️
Any feedback is appreciated
"You are very unnormal, you know that?" He chuckled, his deep voice soft compared to the rumbles from the clouds, flashes of purple and white showing the amusement on his eyes. The rain hasn't come down yet, but the rich scent of the earth and water was an indicator of what's to come.
"Yes, yes, yes, but I can't remember the last time we had this!" You point to the sky with both hands, your movements wild and big. "You can't tell me you're not happy for this, even the news people were." Thunder had softly rolled in the distance, and it was nothing short of miraculous. Thunderstotms were precious to you; since the untamed lightning show that brightened the night had always fascinated you.
He shook his head, admiring the childish wonder and joy that took over. The usual gloomy outlook he had on life was gone, despite the dark clouds above. It was odd, how such ominous clouds that were loud, that literally represented sadness, had him smiling and feeling light.
As he looked at you, the beauty you exuded was like how you viewed lightning. He saw a glimpse of heaven everytime you smiled, and he felt that he didn't deserve it. But as you stared at the show of lightning in awe, and cackled with every thunderous boom, he couldn't help but think that you outshine the night.
With a new sense of realization of how deep his heart had been in, he slowly walked towards you, his chest in sync with the storm. He gently took your hand, the softness put the clouds to shame. You looked to him, that same wonder-filled grin had his mind going haywire. He felt unstable, yet your touch had grounded him to the soil.
He pulled you close, your chests touching, and just gazed into your eyes. You both stayed silent, letting the rumbles and claps of thunder speak for you. His free hand gripped your waist, and swayed.
He knew you loved the cheesy moments, even ones where they had you cringing. He stated long before he wanted to be original, come up with elaborate ways of getting someone's attention. But now, standing in the middle of a rare storm, soft drops of rain now coming down; he would do every cheesy move if he could get you to smile.
You stared back up, your eyes watching his every move despite the darkness. A flash of lightning was enough for you to see what his eyes said. The heat from your face was beginning to rise, as your ears heard your own heart racing.
The hand, strong and rough, softly lifted to your face, wiping the rain that began to fall. The moment between you two was something that was the first of many. Swaying in the rain with you, he leaned down slowly, lips coming in close.
There was enough space to pull away, to say no. But as you placed a hand at the nape of his neck, you closed the space. Any uncertainty or doubt was washed away with the rain. Lightning and thunder began to fade as the kiss felt like it's own storm.
It was quickly becoming your most favorite thing, especially with the man that you love. Now everytime the skies darkened, you both would remember the moment you started your lives together.
Any and all of your faves 😍

You were panicking as someone could see you in such state, strangely, Bucky seemed unfazed, his expression steady despite the unexpected interruption. Then, your heart skipped a beat as the doorknob turned.
The person outside attempted to open the door, but they couldn’t. Relief flooded you, thank God Bucky had locked the door. "Is someone in here? You know you can’t lock the door," the voice outside the room chastised, followed by insistent knocks.
"Fuck." Bucky muttered, frustration etched on his face. "Who's interrupting us now?" He released you from his embrace, standing up abruptly. "We need to leave." His hand found yours, offering support as he helped you to your feet.
Your legs felt wobbly, but Bucky steadied you as he handed over your clothes. "Here," he said, helping you slip into them. "Put these on."
Bucky was about to pulled up his pants, when he saw your panties in his hand. A mischievous smile formed on his lips. "Hold still."
Confused, you questioned, "What are you doing?"
He playfully stuffed your panties into his pocket. "I'm keeping these as a little souvenir."
"You can't just take those!" you protested, your face flushing with embarrassment.
Bucky simply shrugged, his expression unapologetic. "Sure, I can," he said, enjoying the playful banter despite the urgency of the situation.
Before you could retort, the voice from outside grew more impatient. "Hey! I can hear you in there. I'm coming in if you don't answer me," it warned, the threat clear in its tone.
Bucky's expression changed, growing serious as the sound of keys jiggling reached his ears. With a swift nod, you both understood it was time to make your escape.
"We have to go. Now." He said, ushering you towards the other exit, his arm protectively wrapping around you. "Just keep quiet."
You finished putting your clothes back on. Bucky held onto you as he walked across the room, looking for your shoes. You were about to put on your shoes, when you heard the same person call out. You could hear he was picking keys to opened the door.
Bucky glanced over at the door. "He’s going see us. We should go."
But you halted his hasty retreat, pulling him back toward you. "Bucky, wait," you said, you blushed. "I don't think I can walk." You admitted.
He grinned, a look of pure male satisfaction on his face. "Here hop on," he turned his back to you. "I'll give you a piggyback ride."
"What? No, that's embarrassing." you protested, even though you really did need help walking. You felt stupid for feeling so excited, but the thought of being carried by him, made your stomach flutter.
Bucky was persistent. "C'mon, I’ll carry you." he motioned for you to climb onto his back.
"Bucky... I don’t know...," You argued, blushing as you looked down at the ground.
"Oh, please." Bucky scoffed. "I can bench press 500 pounds without breaking a sweat. You weigh nothing to me." He reassured you, his arms outstretched as he bent down.
"Fine," you gave in. You wrapped your arms around his neck and hopped onto his back. Bucky hoisted you up, wrapping his hands underneath your thighs. "This is kind of weird."
"You better hold on tight." He grabbed your shoes with him and went to the back door. "Ready?"
“Yeah.” You tightened your arms around him.
Then you remember, "Wait! I haven't got my phone. It's still on the floor." You protested.
Bucky groaned in exasperation. "You know, that's what's going to get us caught."
"Yes, but then they’ll know it was me in here. Turn around and grab my phone.” You ordered him. He did as you told him even though he wasn’t happy about it, gabbing your phone from the floor.
Bucky started walking towards the door. The sound of keys were being turned, it looked like he found the key. "Hurry, Buck!" You said to him.
"Don't worry, I'll get us out of here."
He pushed the door open and stepped out. You had made it halfway through the alleyway when you saw someone coming. "Shit, run."
Bucky bolted down the alley, with you holding onto him. You both were safe until you reached the elevator, and then you could relax. Once you inside the elevator, Bucky kept you perched on his back. He refused to let you go until the doors closed.
Are we good now?" you asked, your voice still tinged with the adrenaline from the escape.
"Yes," Bucky answered. "We're good now."
"You can put me down now, Bucky." You suggested.
"You sure?" He looked back at you. "You're not as heavy as I thought."
"Gee, thanks," you muttered sarcastically, rolling your eyes at his attempt to lighten the mood.
He chuckled softly as he carefully lowered you to the ground. You reached up and felt how your hair had become all tangled. Your lips were swollen from his kisses. And you couldn't even begin to imagine what your eyes looked like.
"Thanks for the ride," you said, a weary smile gracing your lips as you recalled the unconventional piggyback escape.
"Anytime, doll," Bucky responded with a hint of amusement, his relief palpable.
You smoothed out your clothes and fixed your hair. You leaned against the wall, catching your breath.
"Hey," Bucky said, his voice softening as he placed a hand on your shoulder, his eyes searching yours. "Are you okay?"
You offered a reassuring smile. "Yeah, I'm fine." However, curiosity crept into your voice, "But earlier, when we were... interrupted. Who was it?"
Bucky hesitated before admitting, "No one, I was just messing with you."
A wave of relief washed over you upon hearing his words. You stood next to each other, neither one of you saying a word. The air between you was heavy, but not uncomfortably so. You were glad you had finally slept with him. You had wanted it for a while now, but he was so hard to read.
You wondered what happened now. Would things be awkward between the two of you? Would he pretend like nothing happened?
You were about to break the silence when the elevator door slid open, interrupting your thoughts.
"After you," Bucky said, offering a gallant gesture, indicating for you to exit first.
"Thank you," you replied, stepping out of the elevator. Bucky followed you, and you both began your walk down the corridor in the direction of your room.
In the midst of the silence, Bucky took a deep breath, as if mustering the words he wanted to say. "Listen, Y/N."
You turned to him. "Yes?" you responded, ready for the conversation you knew was coming.
However, as Bucky was about to speak, Steve entered the compound, heading down the same hallway toward both of you. A twinge of frustration shot through you as you silently cursed Steve for his untimely intrusion, just when the conversation appeared ready to take a more serious turn.
You couldn't help but wonder, 'What is he doing here?' as your irritation simmered beneath the surface.
"Y/N, about—" Bucky started again, his words cut off as you held up a hand.
"Hold that thought," you interrupted him, your gaze fixated down the hall where Steve was approaching.
"What's wrong?"
"Steve's coming," you replied, your irritation evident. The interruption was untimely, and you couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance at the universe's sense of timing.
Bucky followed your gaze, and his face fell as soon as he saw his friend. "Fuck," he cursed under his breath.
You both watched as Steve drew nearer, his pace slowing down as he approached you and Bucky. "Hi, Buck," Steve greeted his friend, patting him on the shoulder. His eyes narrowed in suspicion as he glanced over at you, then back at Bucky. “I thought you left hours ago."
"I did, but I had some stuff to take care of," Bucky replied swiftly, his expression unreadable. You sensed an immediate shift in Bucky's demeanor, a return to his cold, distant self in the presence of his friend.
You were about to question Steve's unexpected presence, considering he was supposed to be on a mission with the rest of the team. However, Bucky voiced the query before you could. "Has the mission ended? Where’s everyone?"
Steve nodded, his expression serious. "It hasn't, but I had to drop something off, and I'll be heading out again soon," he explained. "Mostly things had been wrapped up, just one last loose end."
"Alright, good to hear," Bucky said, acknowledging the update.
Steve's brows knitted together, his lips curving into a frown. "You look a little disheveled. What were you doing?" he asked, his suspicion evident in his tone.
"We were training," you chimed in, your voice steady, a lie slipping from your lips without hesitation. The lie rolled off your tongue with ease, and technically, it wasn't entirely false – you and Bucky had indeed been ‘sparring’ earlier.
"Oh, I see." Steve nodded, seeming satisfied with your explanation. "I'm glad you're getting some one-on-one time.”
"It was a pretty intense session," Bucky replied, his tone flat, his eyes avoiding Steve's scrutinizing gaze. You couldn't help but conceal a smile; indeed, it had been an incredibly intense workout, but not in the way Steve was imagining.
Steve raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Well, alright. As long as it was a good workout," he said, his tone carrying a hint of suspicion, although he ultimately seemed to dismiss his concerns, not pressing further.
Steve then turned his attention to you, his expression laden with guilt. "Y/N, about the mission..." He hesitated, clearly burdened by a sense of responsibility, though you knew all too well there was nothing he could have done differently.
Your patience wore thin, not this again, you thought, feeling your mood sour. "It's okay, Steve," you said, your tone carrying a hint of annoyance. "I know it wasn't your fault."
Steve managed a smile, though the unease lingered in his eyes. "Thanks, but I still feel responsible."
"Drop it, Steve. It really wasn't your fault," you insisted, your tone firm.
Sensing the conversation wasn't going anywhere productive, you decided to retreat to your room, especially now that Bucky seemed to have reverted to his usual self and showed no intention of continuing the discussion you'd been having.
"Well, I guess I should get going. See ya later," you said, offering a half-hearted wave before making your exit. As you walked away, a sense of disappointment settled in your chest.
You could barely walk, your thighs aching as you began to walked away. Unbeknownst to you, Steve's eyes followed your limping form, "What the hell happened to her?" he wondered aloud, his concern evident. You blushed deeply, hastening your pace in an attempt to avoid further scrutiny.
Overhearing Steve's question, Bucky replied, his tone nonchalant, "Don't know."
Once you made it to your room, you sighed in relief as you closed the door behind you. You flopped down on the bed, burying your face in the pillow.
"I can't believe we just had sex in the gym," you mumbled to yourself, your voice muffled by the soft fabric of the pillow. Replaying the events in your head, you couldn't help but wonder about Bucky's behavior. "Why does he act differently around the team and then like this with me? What's his problem? Does he want me, or does he not want to be seen with me? Is he ashamed of me?"
You're worried that the whole "fuck and don't talk" thing is going to be the new thing. You couldn't help but wish it wouldn't happened in the future. It was great sex, but it would be even greater if there were actual feelings involved.
"What do I do?" You asked the pillow, knowing the inanimate object wouldn't respond. Exhausted from both the training session and your ‘sparring’ with Bucky was tiring you even more, you decided to take a nap, planning to contemplate your next steps once you had some rest.
The nap was short-lived when a soft knock echoed through the room. You rolled over in bed, and then you heard, "Y/N, are you asleep?" Wanda's gentle voice seeped through the door, causing you to frown as you sat up.
Recognizing it was Wanda, you got up from your bed and opened the door. "Oh, sorry, you were indeed asleep," she remarked, noticing your hair messed up. "I apologize for waking you up."
"I wanted your help," she said, her fingers fidgeting as she sat on the edge of your bed. "Vision's birthday is in two days," she explained, leaving you wondering how this concerned you. "And I want to give him something nice."
You let her finish, nodding in understanding. "I want to buy him this present, but I'm embarrassed," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
You furrowed your brow, trying to grasp her dilemma. "Embarrassed?" you prodded, waiting for her to elaborate.
"I've never been to a sex store, I've never bought... you know... that sort of thing before. I thought if you could help me, it would be a bit less awkward," Wanda confessed, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
You were taken aback by her request, feeling both bewildered and unsure how to respond. "A sex store?"
She blushed deeper, her words tumbling out in a rush, "Well, Vision and I have been experimenting, and we've tried a lot of things. There's something new I want to try-"
"Wait, wait, wait," you interrupted, raising your hand to stop her. "I don't want to know any details.” You put a hand on her shoulder. "What you do with Vis is your business, and I'm glad that you're both happy."
You continued, your confusion apparent, "Wanda, why are you asking me to help you? Why don't you ask Natasha?" You hesitated, admitting your own unease about the situation. The idea of going to a sex store was equally embarrassing to you.
"I trust you," Wanda said earnestly. "I love Natasha, but sometimes she's too wild, you know? She'd probably buy me something that would end up on the Pornhub." Her reasoning made sense, and you recalled Natasha's tendency to be overly candid about her sex life.
"Besides," she added, "Natasha's on a mission, and she won't be back in time. By the time she and Vision return, it'll be too late." Her plea was both desperate and hopeful, and you couldn't help but empathize with her situation.
"Why can't you just go alone?” You inquired, trying to grasp her hesitation.
"It’s too embarrassing.” Wanda admitted, her eyes dropping to her lap. "People recognize me, and I'm worried about what they'll say, what they'll think." She hesitated before continuing, "I mean, people don't recognize you."
Ouch that hurt, but you knew what she meant.
Wanda quickly realized her blunder. "Y/N, I'm so, so sorry. I-I didn't mean it like that. You had a mask with your costume, and your name is a secret, so... I'm just nervous. I'm sorry," she apologized, her tone filled with regret.
You chuckled, attempting to lighten the mood. "It's fine, I get what you mean," you reassured her, rubbing the back of your neck. "I don't like the idea of people recognizing me either."
There was a brief pause as you considered her request. "Um... I don't know, Wanda. It's not really my area," you said, hesitant about getting involved in such a personal matter.
"Please, Y/N. It would really mean a lot to me. I'm nervous about going by myself. I've never bought these kinds of things," Wanda pleaded.
You were about to decline her request when she dropped a bombshell. "I wasn't going to use this on you, but you leave me no choice," she said, her tone taking a sly turn.
"Uh, okay? What did you see?" you asked, frowning in confusion.
"You and Bucky," she smirked, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "I know all about the secret affair."
Your heart skipped a beat as you heard her words. Trying to maintain your composure, you feigned innocence. "What secret affair?" you responded, your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
Wanda continued to wear that knowing smirk. "I saw you and Bucky in the gym," she added, not letting you off the hook.
You swallowed hard, feeling your pulse quicken. "Oh, we were just sparring," you said, attempting to provide a reasonable explanation, though your voice sounded weaker than you had hoped.
Wanda gave you a look that said, 'Yeah, right.' "Sure, you were.” She continued to smirk, “If by mean sparring involving his tongue down your throat and his dick in you.”
Your eyes widened, and you stammered, "Wh-what?” Trying to play it off coolly, you added, “You must be mistaken. We didn't..."
Wanda chuckled, her amusement evident. “Don't lie to me. Bucky's eyes met mine." She teased, her playful demeanor breaking the tension in the room. She continued, "and you, my friend, looked so fucking hot."
You blushed harder, but you felt a bit proud, "Well, you can't blame me. Bucky's so hot and so damn sexy, he can make any girl go weak in the knees."
You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts, focusing on the more pressing issue at hand. "But seriously, how did you see us? Why aren't you on the mission? But Bucky said no one else entered the gym today." A flicker of confusion crossed your face as you recalled the locked door. "How did you even get in?"
Wanda chuckled, her amusement undeniably genuine. "Relax, you're like a storm of questions. Let me break it down for you." She leaned in conspiratorially, her eyes glinting with mischief. "First, the mission? Turns out, I'm a bit too unpredictable for Tony's taste. He thinks my powers might mess up the plan. So, here I am, stuck in the compound."
You couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at Tony Stark's cautious approach. Your sympathy for her situation grew.
"And about the gym door," she continued, her tone casual, "well, that's where my power come in handy. I can open any door with a wave of my hand and step right in, undetected."
"I'm sorry," you said sincerely. "About the mission, I mean. I couldn't go either. Maybe that makes you feel a bit better."
Wanda offered you a warm and forgiving smile. "No need to apologize," she said, dismissing your apology with a wave of her hand. Leaning in closer, her tone took on a mischievous edge. "Now, let me continue," she said with a sly grin. "I was getting ready for my gym session earlier, and then I heard some interesting sounds coming from this room. I peeked in, saw you and Bucky having a heated argument, and I was about to step in."
You squirmed in your seat, mortified by her revelation.
Wanda continued with a sly grin, relishing the opportunity to tease you. "And then... he kissed you," she said, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "and I instantly knew things were about to get intense. It was quite the show by the way,"
Your face turned various shades of red as you tried to process her unexpected presence during such an intimate moment.
She chuckled, her tone playful. "But here's the kicker, after Bucky noticed me, he didn't bother slowing down. He kept on kissing into you, while he was looking at me. That's when I decided it was my cue to make a graceful exit.”
You were taken aback by that revelation. "Wait so you only saw us kissing? You didn't see what happened next?" you asked.
Wanda raised an eyebrow and nodded. "That's right, just the kissing. But the way you were moaning, I had a pretty good idea of where things were headed."
You hid your face in your hands, unable to shake the embarrassment that had washed over you. "Wanda, you witch!" She was playing you so good. She was just guessing about it. If you played it cool, maybe you could salvage the situation. After all, Wanda didn't know the extent of your involvement with Bucky.
"What? Am I wrong?" she said, grinning slyly.
"Maybe?"
"Liar, I know I'm not." She said. “Now I know you fucked each other.” she concluded, raising an eyebrow mischievously, thoroughly enjoying the newfound power dynamic.
"Okay, we were caught in the act," you sighed, defeated. You blushed a little, "What are you going to do about it? Tell on us?"
"I'm not going to tell anyone about you lovebirds, if that's what you're worried about," Wanda assured, her expression surprisingly understanding, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
Your embarrassment surged again, "Lovebirds? We're not..." you began, attempting to deny any romantic involvement.
She cut you off with a knowing grin. "Oh, please. I've seen enough romantic tension to recognize it when I see it. And you two? Well, let's just say, your 'sparring session' was more intense than any training I've witnessed."
"But it was probably a one-time thing." You tried to sound nonchalant, but even you knew it was a stretch. "That's just physical attraction. Nothing more."
"Really?" Wanda gave you a skeptikal looks. "It looked like there was something more going on between the two of you than just fucking. I saw the way he looked at you when no one was looking. It was different. Like you were his. Like he didn't want anyone to touch you, and you were his and only his."
"Wanda, are you serious?"
She nodded, "Yes! I know there's something more between you and Bucky, and I also know you have feelings for him, too."
You hesitated for a moment before admitting, "I don't know... we haven't talked about it." You sighed, "I don't think he wants more than just sex, anyway."
Wanda gave you a confused look, "Are you serious? Did he tell you that?"
You shook your head slowly. "Well, no, not really. He hasn't mentioned anything, and it's not like we've had the chance to discuss our relationship."
"Well, I'm not supposed to tell you this. Bucky will kill me if he finds out, but I'm going to say it anyway," she confessed. You chuckled inwardly, the most powerful Avenger, being cautious of Bucky.
Intrigued, you leaned in closer, your curiosity piqued. "What's going on?"
Wanda continued, "He told me not to tell you that I saw you two kissing because he didn't want you to worry about it. And when I asked where you were, he said you were probably sleeping, and I should let you be."
"He said that?" You felt your heart swell. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach.
Wanda nodded, a knowing glint in her eyes. "Yes, and that's why I'm sure there's more to it. I can see it in his eyes. I know he has feelings for you."
"He does? How did you know?"
"Y/N, I know people. I can read his mind if you want, but that would be an invasion of his privacy," Wanda explained, her tone reassuring yet firm.
"Yeah, of course. I won't let you do that," you quickly responded, appreciating her respect for boundaries. "But thanks, Wanda. I appreciate you telling me."
"Now, let's go back to my problem.” she said, steering the conversation back to her original request. “Come on, Y/N, please help me go to the sex store.”
You hesitated, considering her request. Then an idea struck you. "How about we just order online?" you suggested. "That way, neither of us has to go near the place. We can discreetly make the purchase online."
"That does sound like a better plan," she nodded eagerly. Then, with a hint of desperation in her voice, she added, "But, please, make sure it's addressed to you and not me. I really don't want anyone to know I made that purchase," she implored.
You raised a valid concern. "What about me? People will still find out if it's shipped to me."
Wanda leaned in, her voice low and reassuring. "But they don’t know your real name, Y/N. No one knows except us and the Avengers."
You sighed, feeling a mixture of annoyance and reluctant agreement. "Fine," you conceded, rolling your eyes. "It will be addressed to me. But please, Wanda, promise me you will keep your mouth shut."
"Of course, Y/N, you can trust me. I won't breathe a word to anyone," Wanda assured you with a genuine sincerity. "Your secret's safe with me, I swear."
Relieved, you allowed a small smile. In response, she beamed, pulling you into a tight hug. "Thank you, Y/N! You're the best person ever!" she exclaimed, squeezing you with enthusiasm.
You chuckled awkwardly. "You're welcome, I guess." Returning the hug, you hoped that your decision wouldn't lead to unexpected complications.
She broke the hug, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "I'll send you the link later," she said, her tone tinged with excitement. Rising to her feet, she continued, "I'll leave you to rest now. You must be exhausted after your workout, aren't you?" She smirked knowingly, her gaze flickering towards the door, "And I bet Bucky play a big part on it too, didn't he?"
"Shut up." You grabbed a nearby pillow and playfully tossed it at her. She dodged it with a laugh before heading towards the door.
"Bye, Y/N," she called out, her voice fading as she exited the room.
Rolling your eyes, you couldn't help but smile at her audacious attitude. She was certainly something, and you knew this secret shopping mission of hers was bound to be an adventure.
You stepped into the shower to get rid of the smell of sweat. The water hit your back and you felt so relaxed, your hand trailed down between your legs, you thought about how good it felt to have his cock inside of you, how he fucked you in the gym.
You stepped on the shower to get ride of the smell of sweat and sex that Bucky left you with. When the cold water touched your skin, it brought you back to the real world.
"Ow! Ow! Shit, shit!" You said under the shower and quickly turned it into warm water. "I forgot how much this place is always cold." You whispered, and began washing your hair and body.
Now you felt relax as the water fell on your head and back. The memory of the moment that happened not even an hour ago played on your mind, like a movie. 'That's right doll, take my cock' and the sound of his low and raspy voice echoed on your head.
Your hand trailed down your body, and when you got to your pussy, you rubbed your clit. "Fuck" you hissed.
You could feel your arousal growing as you started fingering yourself. You leaned your head against the shower wall and moaned his name. You thought about how good it felt to have his mouth all over your neck and body.
The water was hot and steamy, but not enough to cover your moans. Your breathing was ragged and uneven. You imagined it was Bucky who was there with you, touching you. You closed your eyes and tried to recall every detail of the encounter.
Your fingers were now deep inside your pussy, pumping hard and fast. You could still feel his tongue on your clit, licking and sucking. You knew he liked to watch you squirm.
You could feel your orgasm building, the pressure in your stomach was getting stronger and stronger.
"Cum for me, doll." He whispered in your ear.
"Bucky! Fuck!" You screamed. You arched your back, your eyes rolling back. Your whole body shook with pleasure, waves of pleasure coursed through your veins.
You stood under the shower and breathed deeply. You didn't want to move, the hot water felt nice against your skin. But eventually you got out, wrapped yourself in a towel, and walked to the mirror. "God, look at that" you said, examining your neck.
There was a hickey where Bucky had sucked on it, and another one on your chest. It was too obvious for the others to see, but you didn't mind. You enjoyed it, and the memory made you smile.
As you saw yourself smiling like a fool, you slapped your cheeks lightly, "No, Y/N. Get a hold of yourself. You are not doing this again." But you knew you wanted to do it again.
As you dressed and settled on the bed, your phone chimed, and you saw Wanda sent you a link. Tapping on the link and the site appeared on your phone. You saw a variety of different vibrators and dildos and other stuff.
You tapped on the vibrator and it was in different colors. Black, red, pink, purple, etc.
"Oh wow." you breathed, your eyes widening as you scrolled through the available choices. As you delved deeper into the product descriptions, your intrigue grew.
'Great for solo or partnered play, its shape is flexible so it can be inserted easily, the base is wide enough so it won't slip out and the curved end is made to hit your g-spot, this vibrator is the best and you can't go wrong with it, you will always get pleasure and will leave you satisfied.'
You scrolled through the page, your eyes widening at the sheer array of options. " Jesus Christ, there are so many," you muttered, marveling at the variety.
You didn't know what to pick. So, you decided to take a screenshot and sent it to Wanda. "Wanda, I'm so confused. Which one should I pick?" You texted her. "What kind do you want? The purple one? Or the black and white one?"
Her response came swiftly. "Get both, also the lingerie. Oh, and make sure to get some lube, I need a lot for the toys," she texted back.
"Damn, Wanda, I didn’t know you were such a naughty girl," you mumbled to yourself, amused by her boldness.
"Ugh, gross, I’m going to need therapy after this," you quickly replied, feeling a mix of amusement and horror.
"And I need to bleach my eyes after seeing you two," she replied, her response laced with playful sarcasm.
You chuckled and continued browsing the website. "So much stuff. How can people use all these? Is this the kind of thing people use?" You whispered. You couldn't help but wonder which ones Bucky might enjoy.
There was this one that caught your attention. You clicked on the image, the vibrator popped open, and a description appeared. It was an eight-inch g-spot vibrator and anal vibrator with a remote control. It was a dual action toy that stimulated both the vagina and the anus.
'This 8 inch dual action toy is an ultra powerful vibrator that delivers powerful stimulation to both the vagina and the anus. The soft and silky material makes it a perfect beginner's toy, and its strong motor and wide bulbous tip makes it great for experienced users too.
With a curved end that will hit your g-spot and an insertable length of 8 inches, it's sure will give you a powerful sensation and will leave you screaming in pleasure. It also has a strong motor and 15 different speed and vibration patterns.
This toy is also waterproof, so you can enjoy it in the bath or the shower.'
Then you saw a video of a woman using it. The sounds were really loud and it sounded like it was being used for the first time. "How can she handle all that noise? It sounds like a jet taking off." You thought, watching the video.
Wanda's text jolted you back to reality. "Have you picked the items yet? I'm waiting," she inquired, her impatience coming through.
"Yeah, I already put them in the cart. I'm about to buy them."
"Okay, thank you! Good night!" she messaged, her excitement palpable.
"Good night," you responded.
Exhaustion began to weigh on you, your eyelids growing heavier by the moment. You were utterly spent, and as you settled into the comfort of your bed, sleep swiftly claimed you.
The next day, you woke up early, your throat was dry, scratchy, and sore. Part of it was Bucky's fault, he fucked your throat too rough hitting the back of your throat.
He's a beast.
You then recalled, ‘you loved choking on my cock huh?’ As Bucky's dirty words rang in your ear. You had to admit, that was the best blow job you've ever given. You didn't know why, but something about the fact that he was using your mouth for his own pleasure excited you. You found yourself wanting to please him.
"Fuck." You groaned, burying your face in the pillow, the darkness soothing your sore eyes.
You walked into the kitchen to get some water, you took the bottle of water from the fridge and drank it. You wondered if Bucky stayed to keep an eye on you and Wanda since now both of you were considered as a threat.
You still haven't discussed about what happened with Bucky. What's the relationship now? Were you just fuck buddies? Was that one-time thing? Or does he want more? Your heart raced at the thought of having more with him, you've never been in a relationship before, but with him? That sounds amazing.
After finishing your water and tossing the empty bottle into the trash, you decided to pay a visit to Bucky's room. However, when you arrived, you found his bed empty. Disappointment washed over you, and you wondered if he had been called away on a mission.
As you exited Bucky's room, you bumped into Wanda. "Morning, babe," she greeted you cheerfully.
"Hey, Wanda. Have you seen Bucky?" you inquired.
"Yeah, he's in the gym," she replied with a knowing smile.
"Great, thanks," you said, feeling a renewed sense of hope. You exchanged a few quick words with Wanda before she set off for the market to gather supplies for the day's meals, and you headed off to find Bucky. Wanda wished you luck before parting ways.
You went to the gym to see Bucky. When you reached there, the gym was empty, there was no one there.
“Bucky?” you called.
"Yeah?" His response came as he walked out, wearing only a towel. Despite the serious conversation on your mind, you couldn't help but steal a glance at the way his abs looked after the shower, water still dripping down his torso. "What's up? You good?" Bucky asked.
"Yeah, I'm okay.” You said, clearing your throat in an attempt to regain your composure. "Just wanted to talk."
"About?"
"Us," you said, meeting his eyes. "About what happened last night." He had an unreadable expression, the look on his face didn't make it seem like he was happy about this conversation.
Bucky let out a sigh, his face expressing a clear desire to avoid the topic. "Y/N, can we not? I'm not in the mood." He began putting on his clothes, his movements brisk and uneasy. He clearly uncomfortable with the conversation at hand.
But you couldn't let it go. The events of the previous night hung between you, an unspoken question begging for an answer. "No, Bucky, we can't just ignore it. I know things have been weird between us," you began, "What does it mean for us? I mean, is it going to happen again?"
He ran a hand through his damp hair, his jaw clenched. "Y/N, stop." He warned, his tone growing stern for you to drop the conversation.
You sighed, looking at him with sad eyes. "Why are you doing this? Why do you keep pushing me away?" You asked, your voice determined, refusing to let the matter rest.
"I don't want to talk about this." he hissed, his patience fraying as he continued to dress, his movements becoming more agitated. "I have important stuff to do right now, so no."
"I want to know why the fuck you're acting this way!" you snapped, getting frustrated with his behavior. "Stop being a dick and just tell me. Are we going to do this again or what? What does this mean for us, huh? Is it a one-time thing or something more?” you demanded, raising your voice.
"God damnit Y/N! Just fucking stop! What's wrong with you?!" He yelled, his frustration boiling over. "Just fucking leave.”
Your heart sank, but you refused to back down. "No, not until you explain what our relationship is now," you insisted, your voice steady, though your hands trembled with the intensity of your emotions.
His glare could have frozen hell over, his eyes radiating cold anger, "We are not in a relationship. We have nothing. Do you understand? Nothing." he stated bluntly, his gaze piercing through you as he threw his duffle bag to the floor in a fit of frustration, its contents spilling out.
The look in his eyes...there was no emotion there. Just the cold stare of someone who no longer cared, and it felt like a stab to the chest. "You want to talk? Fine. Let's fucking talk. We fucked, that's it. It was a fucking mistake.”
The impact of his words hit you like a bullet to the chest. You felt a lump form in your throat, choking back the surge of emotions threatening to overwhelm you. "What…?" holding his glare as you tried to mask the hurt in your expression. This was worse than any outcomes you had ever imagined.
"A mistake, Y/N. I shouldn't have done that. It was a bad idea. It happened because I was stressed and needed to release some steam." His voice growing colder, "it was the only thing that got my mind off of everything.”
The finality of his words sinking in. “It was a fucking mistake. You happened to be there and I happened to be horny. We fucked. End of the story. Nothing else. Now fucking leave."
You had expected this to be just a one-time thing, and you thought you could handle that. But what he said was far worse, leaving you feeling utterly devastated, the weight of his rejection crushing you.
"I just happened to be there for you to fuck? To release your steam? You think of me that way?" You asked him.
He remained silent, refusing to look at you, his gaze fixed on the floor. Why were you still standing here, allowing him to strip away your dignity? Yet, a part of you desperately clung to the hope for an answer.
Every word carved a deeper wound into your heart, yet you pressed on. "No, I need an answer," you insisted, your voice growing more desperate. "Was it just sex?”
He met your question with a nonchalant shrug, his indifference cutting deeper than any rejection. "That's all it was. Yes."
"So, it meant nothing, I'm just another girl you fucked?" you asked, the pain in your voice evident as you tried to make sense of his words.
He continued to re-packing his bags, "What more do you want me to say, Y/N?" he retorted, his anger rising once again. "That I made a mistake? That I fucked up? That I regret it? There, happy? Or do you want to hear me tell you that I used you?"
Your heart broke into a million pieces as the truth of his words struck you like a hammer to the chest. You had given your heart to him, only for him to break it. You couldn't speak, could barely breath.
"It meant nothing to me, Y/N," he continued, his voice filled with disgust. "It was a moment of weakness, and it should never have happened."
You wanted to scream, to lash out, to strike him, but instead, you stood there in silence, unable to move. Bucky's words were like daggers, piercing your heart, leaving a deep wound that would never heal. You felt numb, the pain and betrayal too much for your body and mind to handle. You knew that you would never be the same, that a part of you would always be broken.
"I thought we had a connection." You asked, your voice small, the tremor betraying your vulnerability.
His response, devoid of any sympathy or remorse, struck like a knife to your heart. "Well, you were fucking wrong. You're a fucking mistake, Y/N. You should have known better than to expect anything from me. Now get the fuck out of my sight."
The finality of his words was a slap to your face, the sting of his rejection leaving a deep, jagged scar across your heart. You would never forget his words, or the way he looked at you, his eyes filled with hatred and disdain.
You couldn't comprehend why he was acting like this. Was this the real him? He was cold, emotionless, completely different from the person you thought you knew in the gym, making you question whether the person who had shared that passionate moment with you was real.
You should've known better. You shouldn’t listen to Wanda on the first place, her suggestion was ridiculous and it led to this mess. Your heart was broken, the pain was unbearable. You were alone.
You had no one.
But the rawness of the rejection stung. It was time to leave, to salvage what remained of your wounded pride and self-respect.
"Fuck you, Barnes.”
"You already did, sweetheart.” You saw a slight smirk, “Unless you want more, I can give you that. You have a body to die for.”
Fed up with his disrespectful attitude, you turned to leave, your hand gripping the doorknob. However, something compelled you to turn back and confront him. As you faced him again, you noticed his gaze lingering on you, catching a flicker of something in his eyes, perhaps regret? But then, his expression hardened once more returned to its cold, distant state.
Summoning your strength, you said, "You really know how to hurt people, Barnes."
Bucky's response was laced with bitterness and self-awareness, acknowledging the pain he had caused, "I know, I'm a master of it." He said without looking at you with expression that you couldn't quite read, as if he wanted to say something more. Yet, he remained silent.
The room grew quiet, a heavy silence settling between the two of you, neither one willing to speak first. After what felt like an eternity, you averted your gaze, your eyes glistening with unshed tears, and whispered your farewell. "Goodbye, Barnes." With that, you turned on your heel and walked out, the door slamming shut behind you, the sound echoing the finality of the moment.
As you left the gym, your steps heavy and your heart heavier, the weight of the emotional wounds settled in. Tears streamed down your cheeks as you made your way back to your room. There, behind a locked door, you allowed your emotions to spill out. You collapsed onto the bed, your sobs echoing in the room. You didn't know how long you cried, but it was enough time for your head to hurt. You wiped your tears, feeling the exhaustion set in.
Bucky was mean, he was really mean. You thought he had changed but apparently not. Not anyone was capable of changing. As you cried, you made a silent promise to yourself: you wouldn't let him hurt you again.
E/N : I apologize for leaving you hanging with another cliffhanger, but I didn't want to make Part 2 too lengthy and risk boring you. I acknowledge it might not be as good as Part 1, and for that, I apologize. Rest assured, I'll make it worth the wait in Part 3 (I promise)! On a positive note, who's excited for the groveling trope? I certainly am! Get ready for some intense moments! intense moments ahead!
All the sub-plot with Wanda will start to make sense in Part 3 as it intertwines, and you can expect some moments of jealousy and possessiveness from Bucky as well.
Don't forget to show your support by leaving likes and comments; I'd love to hear your thoughts! 😊📚

Bucky gasped loudly and quickly sat up, breathing heavily. You heard him and woke up. You reached over and turned on the bedside lamp before sitting up and facing Bucky.
“Bucky, baby? Are you ok?” You asked softly.
Bucky shook his head no. You placed a hand on his stubbly cheek, turning his head so he was looking at you.
“Breathe for me, baby boy.” You say.
Bucky looked into your eyes as he tried to get his breathing under control. His eyes slowly drifted lower, shamelessly staring at your breasts. You followed his gaze to your breasts and giggled.
“Would it make you feel better if I let you play with them?” You asked, shaking them a little to make them jiggle.
Bucky licked his lips and nodded his head yes. You gently pushed him back on the bed and got on top of him, straddling him. You pulled your -his- t-shirt over your head and dropped it on the floor. You leaned down so that your breasts you almost in his face. Bucky took a few seconds to stare at your breasts before doing anything. He leaned his head up and placed kisses along them while making eye contact with you. You gasped when you felt his teeth graze your skin. He bit down hard enough to leave hickeys behind. His metal hand cupped your right breast. You shivered at the cool metal against your skin. Bucky lightly sucked on your left breast while his metal hand lightly squeezed the right one.
“M-Mommy.” Bucky whimpered, thrusting his hips up against yours.
“Yes, baby boy? Tell mommy what you need.” You say, running your fingers through his messy hair.
“Want you to ride me.” He says quietly, feeling his cheeks heat up.
“You need to speak up. Use your big boy words.” You say.
“Ride me please.” He says a little louder.
You gently pushed him off of your breasts so you could sit up. You lifted yourself up and pulled down his sweatpants and boxers enough for his hard cock to spring out, his tip leaking with precum. You pushed your panties to the side and positioned your wet pussy over his cock. You reached in between the two of you and wrapped your hand around his cock, pumping it in your hand a couple times before rubbing his tip through your wetness.
“Pl-Please.” He whimpered.
You positioned his tip at your wet entrance and slowly sank down on it. Bucky watched as his cock disappear inside of you. Your jaw dropped when his tip immediately touch that one spot inside of you. You grabbed his hands and placed them on your hips. You placed your hands on his muscular chest, lifting yourself up so only his tip was left inside of you and sank back down. You rode him at a decent pace, but Bucky wasn’t having it.
“Faster please!” Bucky begged desperately.
You moved faster. Bucky threw his head back with a moan leaving his lips.
“Does that feel good, baby boy? Do you like the way mommy’s pussy feels around your fat cock?” You asked.
Bucky nodded his head yes. That wasn’t a good enough answer for you. You lightly tapped his cheek to get his attention.
“Use your big boy words.” You say.
“Yes! I love— oh fuck! I love the feeling of mommy’s pussy around my cock!” He moans.
Bucky became entranced by your breasts bouncing as you rode him. He licked his lips at the sight. He sat up and placed his lips back on your breasts. You placed your hands on his muscular shoulders to steady yourself as he sat up. Your head fell back as he latched his lips onto your nipple. You gasped and arched your back in pleasure when his teeth lightly graze it. His metal thumb and index finger pinched your other nipple causing your cunt to clench around his cock. Bucky moaned against your breast. You placed a hand on the back of his head, tugging at his hair when he rolled your nipple in between his metal fingers.
“Oh fuck! Yes!” You moaned. “Keep doing that and I’ll keep your cock warm all night!” You tell him.
Bucky switched breasts, repeating his actions. His eyes looked up at your face. He studied the way you bit your bottom lip every time his tip hit that one spot inside of you. His free hand slid down to your ass, giving your ass cheek a squeeze to see your reaction. You gasped and looked at him.
“Getting handsy there, aren’t you, baby boy?” You say.
“Mmm.” Bucky hums against your breast.
Your cunt clenched around his cock again when you felt his fingers pinch your nipple. Your clit rubbed against his lower abdomen. You felt orgasm build up at the same time his cock twitched inside of you.
“Can I-I please cum, mommy?” Bucky asks with a whine.
“Cum for me, baby boy. Fill my pussy with your cum.” You say panting.
Your name left Bucky’s lips as he came inside of you. Your orgasm wasn’t too far behind his. One of your hands went down to your clit and began rubbing it in fast circles to help your orgasm build up more. Your pussy clenched around him as you came. Your bouncing came to a halt as you two panted and looked into each other’s eyes. You cupped his stubbly cheeks and gave him a much needed kiss. Bucky moaned against your lips before you pulled away.
“Such a good boy.” You praised softly, running your fingers through his hair. “As promised, I’ll warm your cock all night.” You say.
Bucky smiled and leaned back, shifting to lay on his side. You placed your leg on his hip comfortably. He nuzzled his head against your chest, his fingers rubbing over the hickeys he left on your breasts.
“My doll is so pretty.” Bucky says sleepily, making you smile.
You leaned your head down and kissed the top of his head.
“I love you, baby boy.” You say softly.
“I love you too, doll.” He says before falling asleep.

Protecting What’s His
Pairing: Beefy!Bucky x reader (Bodyguard AU)
Word Count: 2,590
Summary: Bucky has been your bodyguard for some time now and it’s been hard to deny how badly you want him to be more than that.
Author’s Note: All these new pics of long haired beefy Seb have got me thinking and I thought I’d try a crack at Bodyguard AU. Thank you all so much for reading! Much love always! ❤️❤️❤️Divider by the lovely @firefly-graphics thank you Daisy! 🥰
Warnings: flirty tension, some fluff, Bucky is a bit serious and grumpy but he’s soft, mention of s-c-ar-s, a moment of slight p-a-ni-c in the elevator
Bucky holds the door of the elevator open and motions for you to step inside. You walk in and plant yourself along the far wall. Once Bucky is inside he presses the button to close the door.
He dwarfs the entire elevator.
A heavy silence falls between you and your entire body zings with hyperawareness. You try to control your breathing so he won’t notice how affected you are but you’re already concerned it’s written all over your face.
It’s been several months since he’d started being your bodyguard and every one of them has been pure torture. Every inch of him is intimidating with his broad shoulders and thick biceps and legs that go on forever but it’s his eyes that really draw you in. A beautiful blue color like the ocean, framed by long, dark lashes and filled with a softness that contradicts everything about his physical presence.
As ex-military he’s more than qualified for the job and he takes it seriously. He seems to take everything seriously, that’s why making him smile has become one of your favorite pastimes.
As the elevator moves downward you glance at him out of the corner of your eye. His dark blue tailored suits fits perfectly, accentuating all of the aforementioned yummy parts of him.
“Did you enjoy the party?” you ask in a teasing voice.
He’s so focused on his job that you’ve rarely seen him indulge in any of the fun activities he escorts you to but this party had been particularly enjoyable.
His expression softens slightly and you even seen the corner of his mouth turn up.
“I had fun watching you have fun,” he states, matching your teasing tone.
You look up and grin at him.
His gaze turns intense once again as his eyes drop to your mouth.
You open your mouth to ask how come he didn’t even steal a glass of champagne to indulge when the elevator jolts, metal creaking and squeaking as it stops.
It throws you off balance and you fall back against the mirrored walls.
“Are you alright doll?” he asks as he reaches out a hand to steady you, his brow furrowed with concern.
A sliver of fear runs through you. “Are we stuck?”
He reaches over to press the ground floor button, and nothing happens. “I think so.”
Your eyes dart around the small space and you feel the tightness of anxiety starting to make your breathing difficult.
His eyes narrow and he pulls his cell phone from his pocket, quickly typing something.
“Oh no,” you whisper.
You start to feel light headed and your fingertips tingle as your panic increases.
“Doll face.”
Your chest heaves with your struggled breathing.
A large, warm hand settles on your bare back and you look up to find his head bent toward yours.
“Are you feeling claustrophobic?”
You nod rapidly.
“It’s ok,” he assures you, pulling you closer to his body. “Look at me. Keep your eyes on me.”
You do just that, imagining you’re sitting on the sand and staring out at the most beautiful ocean.
“Breathe in.” He takes a slow, easy breath in and the releases it. “Breathe out.”
You do the same.
“Keep doing that and stay focused on me. I’m right here. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
His face is so close you can see every hair of his beard, even the gray ones. Your eyes drop to his mouth as you continue your slow breathing. You lick your lips and glance up at him, shocked to see his stare locked on your mouth.
Your breath hitches and you feel a new wave of tingles shoot across your skin.
He straightens. “Sit down.”
His command is blunt and quick.
“In this dress?”
At your bemused expression he unbuttons his suit jacket before holding out his hand for you.
You look down at it and slowly place your own in his. With your free hand you reach for the silky material of your dress and part it at the slit, exposing the skin of your leg. His grip on your hand tightens.
Your eyes fly to his before you carefully slide down the wall. He copies your action and leans back, his knees bent and his suit pants straining against the heavy muscle of his thighs.
“Better?” he asks.
“Yeah, thank you.”
“Don’t worry, I’m sure this will get fixed soon,” he says assuredly.
“I hope we aren’t high up.”
Your words are slightly shaky and it looks as if he wants to reach out for you but thinks better of it before answering, “no, I think we’re just above the opening to the ground floor.”
You nod. “I guess you don’t have problems with confined spaces.”
“They don’t bother me,” he replies.
“I bet there isn’t much that does. Bother you, I mean?”
He turns his face to you and you study him as he answers, “not much.”
You feel a smile pulling at your mouth so you bite your bottom lip to stop it. His jaw tightens as the muscle ticks and he drops his eyes to your mouth again.
“What have you been reading lately?” he asks.
The question surprises you and now you can’t stop a full-on grin.
“Everything and anything,” you admit. “Mostly romance.”
“Is that your favorite…?”
Before you can answer his question his cell rings and he gives you a quick apologetic look before standing and answering it. After several nods and mumbled “okays,” he holds out his hand to help you stand.
“Thanks for calming me down,” you say before taking it. “I owe you a drink.”
His large and calloused fingers close around yours and he pulls you to your feet. At the same time the elevator jerks upward and you fall against his chest.
He catches you in his arms and you cling to him, startled, as you press yourself along his body.
His eyes drop to your mouth before he looks away.
“You don’t owe me anything doll,” he grumbles. “It’s my job.”
You’re about to respond that calming you down isn’t part on his bodyguard protocol but the elevator moves again and then the doors start to open. He releases you gently.
Two maintenance men stand outside with smiles.
Bucky gestures for you to step off first, and you do, smiling in thanks to the elevator mechanics. You turn to watch Bucky walk out and notice his eyes slide down your body before moving back up to your face.
“You good?” he asks.
“Yeah, fine now, thanks again.”
“I don’t know why he’s keeping me at arm’s length,” you huff sullenly. “We’re both adults and I’ve seen the way he looks at me when he thinks I’m not paying attention.”
You drop your head to the table and groan.
“Maybe he’s worried he’ll lose his job?” Nat suggests as she sips her coffee. “I mean he shouldn’t be distracted…”
“I’m not a distraction!” you scoff. “It’s not like I’m going to try to seduce him while we’re out in public where there are threats…although…the thrill of public sex is…”
“Babe,” Nat admonishes but she can’t hide her smile.
You give her a sad face. “I want to climb this man like a tree.”
“Then just do it. The next time you have him alone. Do it. Make sure there’s no doubt he knows what you want.”
You give her a raise of your brow and take a sip of your coffee as you contemplate her advice then your lips turn up into a mischievous smirk. “I might just do exactly that.”
“I really don’t feel like going to this party,” you admit as you sit in the passenger side of Bucky’s SUV. “I’d rather stay home.
Bucky’s gaze quickly flicks to you, his eyes running down your body before he focuses back on the road.
“I thought you liked these parties.”
“I do. But not all the time. Being home in pajamas is nice too.”
He nods in agreement.
“I don’t even like this dress that much. I’m not sure it suits me.”
You turn his way and note the white knuckled grip he has on the steering wheel.
“What do you think?” you ask.
“About?” he counters.
“My dress.”
“It’s fine,” he states.
Your mouth drops open with indignation but apparently he wasn’t done commenting.
“You always look perfect.”
“Thanks,” you whisper, looking away to hide your triumphant smile.
“Bucky,” you say quietly as you walk up next to him. “I’m ready to go. My feet hurt and I’m kind of tired. Take me home.”
He nods as he stares at you.
You lean up to kiss his cheek, breaking him out of his trance. “Thank you.”
He gives you his arm and you wind yours through it, leaning into him as you walk toward the elevator.
“Not another elevator,” you mutter.
“We can take the stairs if you prefer,” Bucky offers. “It’s only two flights.”
You look down at your shoes, worrying your bottom lip between your teeth. The action draws his attention to your mouth and you catch him staring. Again.
“What are the chances we’ll get stuck again?” you ask warily.
“Very unlikely,” he tells you with a soft smile.
He helps you into the car, the ride is mostly silent other than your few short questions and his even shorter answers.
“You know I never got to thank you with that drink,” you say when you pull up to your house.
“For what?” he asks, looking genuinely confused.
“For helping me in the elevator last week. If you hadn’t been there I’m not sure how bad it would have gotten.”
“Doll,” he starts. “It was nothing. I’m glad I could have been there to help. It’s all in a days work.”
You hold his gaze, shifting in your seat at its intensity. Your movement draws his eyes to your legs and you see heat replace some of the intensity.
He clears his throat. “Let me walk you to the door.” Without another word he gets out and rounds the SUV.
You try to hide your disappointment and take his outstretched hand, sliding from the seat. You stumble on your heel and your palms land flat on his broad chest just before he reaches out to steady you.
“Sorry,” you mumble. “I’m ready to be out of these shoes.”
He chuckles and waits until you’re steady on your feet once again. His hand rests on your lower back as you walk toward the door.
You’re not even half way up the walkway when the sky opens up and the rains starts. You screech and try to run but Bucky grabs you, motioning down to your shoes.
“Easy doll. Don’t want you taking a tumble.”
You cling to him as you move toward the porch, already soaking through.
“You can’t go home like this,” you tell him when you reach the door.
He looks down at his clothes, wet and sticking to his skin. “I’ll be fine doll face.”
“Bucky,” you sigh. “At least come in and dry off.”
The muscle in his jaw flexes as his eyes flicker to your body, your wet dress molded to every last curve. When he meets your eyes again you startle at his expression. His blue eyes are darker and filled with hunger, something he does little to hide now.
You turn away, still unsure if he’s going to follow but then you feel his heat at your back as he comes inside and shuts and locks the door.
“Hang on. I’ll get some towels.”
Before bringing him the towels, you quickly peel off your dress, dry off and change. When you arrive back downstairs he’s standing in your foyer and trying to take off his suit jacket.
You giggle at the sight and rush over you help him pull off the sleeves, the material sticky from the rain.
“Thanks doll,” he murmurs as he takes the towel.
He begins to dry off, patting his shirt and running the towel over his hair.
“You need to take his off,” you tell him sternly then reach up to the buttons of his shirt. “I can put it in the dryer for you.”
He whispers your name, his eyes on your fingers as they slowly undo each button. You separate the sides of his shirt to reveal his skin, glistening from the wetness of the material.
You press your fingertips to the upper right side of his chest, touching a circular scar.
“Is this a bullet wound?” you ask, your voice thick with emotion.
“A sniper,” he answers quietly. “And not a very good one.”
“What do you mean?” you whisper, looking up into his eyes. “He shot you!”
“I’m sure he was aiming for my head.”
He says it so casually, but the thought makes you feel sick.
You swallow hard, your fingers trembling as you move them lower, trailing them across a large gash that runs over his ribs.
“And this?”
“Bar fight. Some assholes like to pick fights with soldiers.”
“It looks bad.”
“Yeah, it wasn’t pretty. But I survived.”
Your fingers move over his cool skin, his abdominals flexing under your touch as you slide them lower, through the dark trail of hair that disappears into his pants.
“Doll?” he growls, gently grabbing your wrist.
You wrench your eyes away from his body and look up at him in surprise.
“I…” you start, “I’m sorry. It’s just…I want….”
“This isn’t a good idea,” he says through gritted teeth.
“Why not?” you counter, wanting to pout like a child.
You must be doing just that because he lifts his free hand and brushes his thumb across your lower lip before he traces the curve of your jaw.
“I can’t do my job properly if all I can think about is getting my mouth and hands on you. I need to keep you safe.”
His words are pained and you can see the war in his eyes.
“But there are no threats right now. It’s just you and I, safe at home.”
He’s still holding your wrist and you slip free of his grasp, taking his hand in yours and placing it just above the neckline of your tank top.
“Touch me Bucky. Please.”
You leave his hand there and lift yours to push his shirt from his shoulders. You have to tug the wet material off his arms but once he’s free of it you let your fingertips ghost along his skin, goosebumps forming in their wake.
“Doll,” he pleads, his eyes closing.
When you reach the button of his pants you toy with it before deftly popping it open. His arousal strains hard against the fabric and you suck in a breath.
He finally stirs, his eyes opening and focusing all their intensity on you and the path of his hand across your collarbone.
His calloused fingertips are feather light as they slide along your shoulder until they trace along the column of your throat. His large hand closes around the back of your neck and he tilts your head back, dragging you into his chest.
He dips his head, his lips hovering just above yours as he whispers, “if we do this…”
“Yes,” you breathe out, your eyelashes fluttering against your cheeks.
“You need to know something doll.”
His nose bumps yours as he brushes it over your skin, his lips moving to shell of your ear.
“What?” you gasp, your nails digging into his chest.
“You belong to me now.”

Angel - Part 2
Marvel AU
Pairing: Alpha Steve Rogers x Enhanced Omega Reader x Alpha Bucky Barnes
Theme: A/B/O / True Mates
Summary: It's different when you're enhanced. Everything is different, every smell, every sound, touch, feelings. The way it's different doesn't make sense unless you are enhanced. Throw in what comes with Alpha and Omega instincts, and the intensity of your presentation is even more than any other. When you find yourself in need of help you can call on the alpha you trust the most, Natasha Romanoff. You just don't expect to find your alphas at the same time. Are you really enough for them? And can you really be the Luna to the Avengers?
"To be loved, to be loved by your mate is everything." - Wanda Maximoff
Reader is enhanced, has wings and has powers connected to electricity.
Chapter Summary: Clint and Nat discover what's happened to you.
Chapter Warning: Mentions of sexual assault and attempted rape.
Clint’s the first to find you.
You’re sitting in the ditch your knees to your chest, head down and your wings wrapped around you.
“I have her, slow approach.”
He slowly knelt down in front of you, keeping a two metre distance. He had never seen your wings so dark, as black as they were now. You’d told him early on in your friendship that they changed colour with your moods. The darker, the worse the mood. He’d only seen them pure white a couple of times and it was always around his kids or laughing with Nat and Laura on the porch at the farm. But right now, they were as dark as night, like Lucifer himself had given them to you.
“Y/N? Sweetie it’s me. It’s Clint. Can you let me see you?”
Your wings dipped ever so slightly and your tear filled eyes looked back at him. It didn’t take a detective to figure out what had happened. Even his beta nose could pick up the stink of the alpha on you and he knew that scent. If he didn’t kill the alpha responsible, Romanoff definitely would. Clint knew what he had to ask you and he hated having to ask, knowing he really already knew the answer, but protocol was protocol and he knew at least a dozen agents that practically worshipped you and would bring in the piece of shit, to save him and Romanoff the trouble. They’d get you settled and then have him delivered to them. Wanda would want in on this and he was sure Wade owed you a favour. Yeah that would do it but now he needs you out of this ditch.
“Y/N? Do you require a female senior officer for debrief?”
You nodded weakly in reply.
Purposeful footsteps made themselves known and you saw Natasha’s silhouette appear from the darkness, the sparse street lights being all to light the ditch.
“Angel?”
The smell and look in your eyes hit Natasha like a freight train and she knew right then she was putting some red in her ledger. She tried her best to keep the growl muffled in her chest as she pulled out a pair of medical gloves from her pocket, as Clint mimicked her actions.
“Bruce call Hill, direct line, tell her we need her on a video call immediately. AR and SA suspected. Debrief required.” Clint requested over comms as he and Natasha slowly reached out to you, their hands outstretched. You placed a hand in one each of theirs and they slowly lifted you up, both noticing how your face contorted with pain.
“We’ve got you.” spoke Clint softly as he slipped an arm around your waist, “this OK?”
You let out a shuddered breath and nodded. Nat mimicked Clint’s actions, pushing down her inner alpha’s rage. Both supported you keeping the smallest of gaps between you so not to contaminate your suit too much and damage the evidence you were covered in.
The light breeze generated from F.R.I.D.A.Y bringing around the jet blew your hair back and Clint got a clearer view of your face, and could see a clear the mark where you’d been struck. Bruce appeared on the already lowered ramp and you noticed he was also wearing gloves and a disposable apron.
“Hills online and everything is set up.”
As you entered the jet you became aware of what Bruce meant and saw a projection of a live video call from Deputy Director Hill, a stern look on her face. A plastic sheet was laid in front of the screen, and on it laid a clear bag, swabs, scissors and nail clippers. You stepped on the sheet and Hill pushed down a growl, trying to hide it as a clearing of her throat as she saw the state you were in.
“Agent, please confirm your identity.”
You signed back.
AFH 27, code name Angel
“I’m going to need verbal communication if possible Agent.”
You gesture at your throat, getting frustrated when you realised you weren’t being clear.
“I don’t think she can.” Bruce replied for you, noticing the bruising making its way up your neck. He placed a tablet in front of you, the internal state of your vocal calls displayed.
There was a muttered Jesus Christ from Hill.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y give her a full body scan for injuries, fluids and any other evidence.”
“Agent, tell me what happened.”

Forever and Always
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Fem!Reader
Setting: Modern MCU timeline
Perspective: Third Person Limited (Reader’s perspective).
Work Count: 1.2K
Prompt 13: “I promised to love you forever, and that is a promise I intend to keep.”
______________________________________________________________
The night air in Brooklyn was cool, the city buzzing around you as you walked down the familiar streets. You had lived here once, in another time—another life. Back then, it was simpler. You were young, full of dreams and love. Bucky was by your side, his smile lighting up every corner of the world. That smile hadn’t faded from your memory, not even after all these years. And yet, seeing it now… seeing him now… It was different.
Bucky was different.
You rounded the corner and stopped. There he was, standing by the old bench where you had shared your first kiss. He looked much the same, but the pain in his eyes was unmistakable. His hair was a little longer, a little grayer at the temples, and his jacket a little more worn than you remembered. But it was the same Bucky—the Bucky you had known and loved in the 1940s.
The man who had promised you forever.
You hadn’t aged a day. The same as you had back then, still in your twenties, a quiet enchantment hanging over you like a veil. You could feel it, the weight of your powers that kept you locked in the past, preserved in time. You had lived through decades, watching loved ones come and go, but Bucky had always been the one who lingered. The one you couldn’t forget.
He turned when he heard your footsteps, and for a moment, his breath caught. His eyes scanned you, taking in every detail—every curve, every line, every piece of you that he had once known. It was like nothing had changed… except everything had.
“Y/N…” His voice was low, strained, like the name itself pained him.
You stepped forward, heart in your throat, but a smile tugged at your lips. "Hey, Buck."
He shook his head, as if trying to clear the fog of confusion from his mind. "How... how is this even possible?" His voice cracked slightly. "You look... you look the same. You’re still—" He gestured at you, unable to find the right words.
You nodded slowly, the weight of centuries pressing down on you. "I know. It’s complicated."
His jaw tightened. "I don’t get it. How is this even possible? I saw you… I saw you die. I thought you were gone." His voice broke on the word 'gone.'
You reached out, gently placing your hand on his arm, grounding him. "I never died, Bucky. I—I couldn’t. Not like that. Not when I made you a promise."
He recoiled slightly, stepping back. "A promise?" He laughed bitterly, but there was no humor in it. "Do you have any idea how much time has passed? How much has changed? You don’t owe me anything, Y/N. Not after everything I’ve done. After what Hydra made me do."
You flinched at the mention of Hydra, the dark memories that haunted both of you. You knew that pain all too well, the scars they had left on his soul. But you weren’t going to let him hide behind that.
“Bucky, look at me.” You stepped closer, your eyes meeting his. “You’re not what Hydra made you. You never were. I know who you are. You’re the same man who held me close under the stars, promised me forever. The man who laughed and danced and loved with his whole heart.” You swallowed hard, feeling the weight of your words. “And I promised to love you forever, Bucky. And that is a promise I intend to keep.”
His face twisted in anguish, and he looked away, the guilt written all over him. "You don’t understand, Y/N. You don’t know what I’ve done. What I can’t forget. The lives I’ve taken. The pain I caused. I’m a different person now. You shouldn’t have to carry that. You deserve someone who hasn’t—" He choked on the words, his fists clenching.
“Stop.” Your voice was firm, cutting through the self-loathing and regret that seemed to choke him. "You are not the monster they turned you into. You are not the Winter Soldier anymore, Bucky. You are him. The man I fell in love with."
Tears burned in your eyes, though you refused to let them fall. You had spent so many years without him, so many years wondering if you would ever get another chance. You couldn’t lose him again.
“Bucky, look at me.” You cupped his face gently, tilting his head to meet your gaze. “I never gave up on you. I never stopped loving you, not once. You don’t get to decide if I move on. I made a promise, and I’m not going to let you push me away.”
He took a shaky breath, his chest rising and falling rapidly. For a moment, he didn’t speak. His blue eyes were searching yours, like he was looking for something—something to hold onto, something to believe in again.
“I’m not the same man I was back then,” he whispered, his voice cracking. “I’ve seen too much. Done too much.”
“And I’ve been waiting for you, Bucky. For all this time.” You stroked his cheek softly, and he leaned into the touch, his breath hitching. “You’ve suffered. I know that. But you don’t have to suffer alone. You never did.”
His eyes softened, a flicker of hope rekindling in the depths of them, and for a brief second, he was the man you remembered—the man you had loved. The man who had kissed you under the stars, whispered promises into your hair, and told you he’d love you forever.
“I’ve waited so long for this,” you whispered, your voice filled with emotion. “You don’t have to carry all of it alone anymore. You don’t have to do this by yourself.”
Bucky closed his eyes, letting out a long, shuddering breath, his shoulders sagging with the weight of everything he had carried for so long. “I don’t know if I can… if I deserve to be loved again. After everything.”
“You deserve it more than anyone.” Your voice was steady now, filled with the conviction of a promise you had made so long ago. "You are still the man I fell in love with, Bucky. And I’m not letting you go. Not now. Not ever."
When he finally looked at you again, his expression was softer, vulnerable, the hardness in his eyes giving way to something more fragile. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered.
“I’ve missed you too.” You pressed your forehead to his, a tear finally slipping down your cheek, but it was a tear of relief, not sorrow. “I never stopped loving you, Bucky. And I never will.”
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, Bucky didn’t pull away. He didn’t hide behind the walls of guilt and regret. Instead, he let himself be vulnerable with you—truly vulnerable. And as he leaned forward, pressing his lips to yours, you knew, without a doubt, that forever didn’t need to be a distant promise anymore.
It was now.
And this time, you would keep it. Forever and always.

starring: bucky barnes x male reader
request: Hey, can you write a Bucky x bottom male reader smut? Y/N is a crossdresser and shows Bucky his new lingerie.
warnings: smut, sweet pet names, fingering innuendos, cursing
this was buckys favorite time of the week, you had just went out shopping with all your friends and bought home some new sexy clothes to try on and you know you have to give him a walk through of it all, trying and the different clothes and asking for his opinion on it, but it seems todays items were a little different.
"and what's these darling" bucky asks picking up a piece of lacy underwear from the bag before you snatch them away "i'll show you later" you smile skipping your way into the bathroom, bucky could hear you all giggly as you put on the slutty clothes seeing as you might be a little long he sat down on the couch, legs spread wide open waiting for his babyboy.
"so what do you think" you asks walking out in some sultry lingerie that had bucky quickly closing his legs to hide his growing erection "fuckin' hell you're gonna be the death of me darling" bucky muttered taking your hand and spinning you around to admire how the little clothing clung to your body so well before he pulled you onto his lap.
"wait i have to show you the other ones" you try to push off him but he pulls you right back to him and starts kissing your neck "no i wanna get a closer look at this one" bucky says leaving hickeys across your collarbone, his cold metal hand reaching down to grope your ass while his human on kept a tight grip on your neck.
"you look so fuckin' sexy y/n" he says pulling the underwear down to run his metallic fingers over your hole "no bucky not that one" you warn him before he caught his mistake and brought his human hand down to start fingering you open when he felt something wet already there, w-was that lube?
"already ready for me huh baby" bucky chuckles watching how you turn embarrassed as he figures out you wanted him to fuck you "i just need it bucky" you cling to him, arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders and he gives in, lifting you up slightly to finally free his aching hard cock to you which you instinctively try to touch "nope not this time darling let me take care of it" bucky coos.
he spits into his hand before lathering that on his cock, making sure it's nice and wet before he slides it into your tight hole, sucking him in so easily like a good boy, his hands find their way around your hips and bounce you up and down on his cock, listening to your moan out whimpers and whines as you feel his grip tighten on you.
"fuck bucky" you whine hiding your face in the crook of his neck, the scruffiness of his beard itching at your cheeks, he chuckled as he watch you struggle to handle him as if you guys didn't fuck just before you left today "you like that sweetcheeks" bucky teases you, his movements into you becoming rougher and rougher as he feels his climax creeping up.
"where do you want it" bucky quickly asks, reveling in the sound when you say "inside me daddy" with that whiny little voice making him cum on the spot, heavy breathes leaving both your mouths until bucky finally spoke up "how 'bout you show me that other outfit huh" he said jokingly but you actually did, limping your way to try on the next set of lingerie that would end up the same one that one has.

Vacation
Bucky x reader
Summary: You're on vacation with Bucky, but it's not as relaxing as you wanted it to be.
Words: 822
Warnings: Violence, language, fluff
The team was on a much-needed vacation. It was a beach day, full of relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming. You had bought a swimsuit that you absolutely adored and looked amazing on you, making you feel confident. A big plus was that Bucky loved it too.
While Bucky and Sam went swimming, you went to the nearby outdoor cafe after a cold and refreshing drink. Wanda had stayed to watch after the things.
While you waited for your turn to order, some guy, in whom you had zero interest started flirting with you. Right away, you let him know that you have a boyfriend and are not interested. But he brushed that off, pretending he didn't hear it.
"Can I buy you a drink, pretty lady?" The man said, smugly smiling. You felt like throwing up a little. Especially, when he took a step closer to you.
Meanwhile, Bucky, from afar, saw the guy getting closer and closer to you. He knew you could take care of yourself, but it didn't help the switch going off in his mind.
"Don't do anything stupid," Sam warned when he noticed what had his friend's unbreakable attention.
"I'm not promising anything." He got angrier with every step he took closer to you. When he had almost reached you, he saw you break the guy's hand that he had so confidently placed on your waist just a second ago. For a few seconds, he stopped in his tracks, shocked. He smiled and ran to you.
"Let's get out of here." Bucky guided you away from the scene, while the man screamed in pain, attracting other people's attention. "Nice job, doll, but that was my job. I wanted to do that."
A day later, you took a stroll through the city with Bucky. It was a date, just the two of you. Sightseeing, taking photos, and enjoying the day. Later, you stopped by a beachside restaurant to have dinner.
Bucky went to the bathroom while you stayed by the bar, waiting for a table to become available.
"Well, well, well," You immediately recognized the voice from the previous day. "Look who it is." The man slowly turned around, facing you.
"Oh, God." You rolled your eyes to the back of your head, throwing a glance down the hallway, hoping Bucky would return faster so you could find another place to eat.
"Hey," The man tapped on his friend's shoulder. "Look, it's the chick who broke my arm."
"Her?" His friend pointed at you and started laughing.
"Shut up." He growled, almost pushing him off the chair. "I'm waiting for an apology, it's the least you can do. And maybe after that, I'll let you buy me a drink."
"Why don't you just fuck off?"
"Listen here, you bitch-" He threateningly stood up.
"How the fuck did you just call her?" Bucky growled, suddenly standing beside you. The murderous glare he had made you sure Bucky would destroy this foolish man without leaving a wet spot in the place.
"Are you deaf?" The guy just laughed in his face, not realizing who he was talking to.
Without saying anything else, Bucky swung back and punched him. The man fell on his back, holding his nose and wallowing in pain on the floor, blood dripping down his hands.
"Bucky!" You quickly stepped in front of him, stopping him from doing more damage.
"Don't you fucking dare to call her or anyone else like that!" Bucky threatened while you basically had to push him out of the restaurant.
"What the hell was he thinking? Just going around and - agh! -I should have taught him a lesson and-" Bucky went on and on about what had just happened. You pulled him inside the alleyway, pressing him against a brick wall, and kissed him fiercely. His hands immediately went to your hips, pulling you closer. "What was that for?" He smiled, his thumbs tracing circles on your hips. For a moment, he forgot what he was mad about.
"That was the only way to shut you up." You chuckled, sliding your hands down his defined chest.
"Ah-" He gasped, changing positions and pressing you against the wall. "Are you sure it's not because of me defending your honor?" He arched a brow, tucking a loose hair strand behind your ear.
"Oh, please." You chuckled, "But I'm not gonna lie, it was kinda hot." Wrapping your arms around his waist, you pressed a quick kiss to his lips. "Thanks for saving me, but can we find a place where we could eat? I'm hungry."
"Sure thing, doll." He grinned, taking your hand and intertwining his fingers with yours. After a short walk, you found a restaurant with a beautiful view of the sunset.
"What?" You chuckled, seeing how Bucky looked at you. All smiley, cute, and in love, basking in the last warm rays of sunshine today.
"I'm just happy you're mine."

That night, you felt distracted. Though you couldn't help it, you found you kept comparing yourself to Jade Carthage, not able to get over the way Bucky had so intensely examined her photo and bio. You refused to examine why the thoughts bothered you so much; this wasn't a relationship, and he was free to find other women attractive, and though you tried to ignore the slick, slippery feeling they elicited in your gut, you knew you were wallowing.
But you couldn't help but think he was comparing you to her, too, and also finding you lacking.
For as practically as long as you could remember, your self esteem had been entwined with how sexually appealing men had found you. It was never a relationship you nurtured for yourself, but your mother's boyfriend had instilled in you that the happier you made his clients, the better he would treat you, and it fucked up your sense of self-worth. Under ideal conditions, you were able to put all your years of therapy to work and look past the trauma of your youth, but at times like this, when you were feeling less than, you sought out the approval that your sexuality brought you.
And right now, you were desperate for that approval from Bucky.
After you came out of the bathroom in your pajamas, you were disheartened to see him sitting on the edge of his bed, going over Jade's paperwork yet again. You sighed, but he didn't look up at you. Fine, if he was going to be like that, you'd just have to take matters into your own hands, literally, and make him remember who he shared a bed with at night.
Coming to stand before him, you reached down and took the paper from his hands, tossing it behind you.
"Hey," said Bucky, mild annoyance in his voice, "I was reading that."
Before he could even think about going after the discarded paper, though, you got down on your knees before him.
Tracing your fingers along his thighs, you eagerly reached for his belt, fumbling with the buckle in your haste. The zipper of his pants gave way easily as you pulled it down, revealing his cock beneath his boxer briefs. You wasted no time and hungrily grasped him in your hand, stroking him firmly and teasingly until he was throbbing and fully aroused.
"Pocket," he said, his protest laced with desire as he looked down at you with hooded eyes, "what are you--"
With a wicked smirk, you silenced him with a fierce look. Your tongue darted out to swirl around the tip of his throbbing cock, making him groan as he grabbed onto your hair. You took him into your mouth eagerly, savoring the taste and feel of him against your tongue. With each movement, you swallowed him deeper and deeper until your nose brushed against his lower stomach, sending shivers down his spine. Your hands worked his base expertly, teasing and toying with him as he begged for more.
"Fucking hell, Pocket," Bucky moaned as he thrust his hips towards you, "what's gotten into you tonight?"
You hummed against him, adding in subtle twists and sucks that made him tremble. He pulled at your hair harder, urging you to take him fully once again. With practiced ease, you hollowed out your cheeks and bobbed faster and harder against him, taking him all the way in until you could feel his twitching release just moments away. Both of you knew it wouldn't be long now before he exploded in ecstasy.
"I'm gonna come, Pocket," he moaned, trying to back himself out of your mouth, but you refused to let go, renewing your grip on his thighs, becoming almost aggressive. Your eyes locked onto his, silently begging for him to give in and let go. With one final grunt, Bucky exploded, spurting hot streams of his essence into your mouth. You eagerly gulped it all down, determined to take everything he had to give you. And when you finally released him from your mouth, the sound of a satisfying 'pop' echoed through the room.
"I just want you to remember that," you purred, slowly standing up and sauntering back to your side of the bed. You could feel the intense desire radiating from his gaze as you wiped the remnants of his spend from your lips and licked your fingers clean, and he had a look in his eyes that promised this moment would be seared into his memory forever.
You nestled into the warmth of the sheets, your head resting on his chest. His arms enveloped you, and in a hushed voice he expressed his gratitude. In that moment, you were grateful to have him by your side, knowing that for tonight, at least, he was yours and not consumed by thoughts of another.

4. Cake Doughnuts (shitty non-doughnuts)
This is not the way Mary expected her life to go. Divorced at 29, probably unemployed, and now declared mentally incompetent and legally attached to some stranger? Ew.
At least when the cops had dragged her into the ER, she’d been drunk still. But she’s sobered up a lot since then, and ever more so during the drive from the hospital to back to Brooklyn. It’s the most awkward car ride of her life. Steve’s the one who drives. Mary doesn’t know why that surprises her, but it does. And he’s the one who leads the way into their building and up the stairs. It’s an older building with character but no elevator, so they make the three story climb on foot. Another resounding Ew.
Mary walks silently around Bucky’s (and Steve’s—because of course he’s gay and married) apartment, feeling shy and hesitant and all the things she just really doesn’t want to be feeling right now. She stops when she gets to the second bedroom, stares at its pristinely tucked-in sheets and neutral tableau.
“You can bring over any stuff you need from your place,” Steve is saying gently from behind her, where he and Bucky are lingering in the hallway. “It’ll be your room. We won’t bother you in there.”
She whips around. “How long do I have to stay here?” Better to figure it out now. Make a plan. She glares at Bucky, since he’s the one in charge of this disaster. “I’m not staying here forever.” Steve looks even sadder at her words than Bucky does, kind of like a kicked puppy. It’s disconcerting, so Mary keeps her attention on Bucky instead, forcing herself to make eye contact. “Well?”
“Until I feel like it’s safe and healthy for you to be on your own,” he says, not a hint of sympathy in his tone. That’s disappointing, and it pisses Mary the hell off.
“Screw you,” she says, not particularly loudly, but definitely full of all the contempt she feels for this guy. “You think you can just—”
He’s got her pushed up against the wall faster than she can track with her eyes. One second she’s standing feet away from him, and the next she just … isn’t. He’s in her space and against her body, one hand at the base of her throat and a thigh pressing forward, holding her to the wall. It’s terrifying and shocking and …
“Oh I know ‘I can just’,” he says darkly.
… She’d rather eat glass than tell him what else it is. “Let go of me,” she grits out.
Disappointingly, he does. Steve is just standing there like a big idiot, blinking wide eyes at the scene. Bucky takes a full step back from her and says, “Don’t curse at me, Mary. It’s disrespectful.”
She wants to ask him exactly what he’s done to earn any respect from her. She grinds the words into her teeth instead while Bucky watches her knowingly. She hates that look almost as much as she hates the way he says her name, as if he’s known her for years rather than a millisecond.
“House rules,” he says calmly. “The practicalities of what’s going to happen. We should discuss that, don’t you think?”
Steve places a hand on Bucky’s shoulder, comes up beside him and wraps an arm around his waist in a way that reminds Mary that the two are a couple. “Hey,” he says softly, speaking in Bucky’s ear. “Why don’t we let her get some rest before you go asserting your dominance, huh?” Mary wrinkles her nose at the word, and Steve regards her kindly. “You’ve gotta be tired,” he says. “You want to sleep?”
Bucky looks like he’ll protest, so Mary nods quickly. “Yeah. Yeah I’m tired.”
She watches as Steve squeezes his husband’s shoulder. “Come on, Babe. Let’s leave her to get some rest. She’s been up all night.”
Suddenly, Mary realizes that she has been up all night, and it’s almost comical, how fast the exhaustion hits her. Her throat starts to ache with a yawn that she fights not to let out in front of them. “Yeah,” she says again, this time thinking less about Bucky and what he wants or doesn’t want, and more about the bed that Steve said was reserved for her. She remembers that she feels like absolute shit, and probably looks it, too. “M’gonna sleep,” she says, turning away from both of them and heading for the bed.
The door ‘snicks’ shut softly behind her, and she assumes it was Steve who closed it. The two men's muffled voices fade off down the hallway, and even though it’s probably naïve to trust them so easily, Mary believes what Steve said about them not bothering her in this room.
She collapses on the bed that is exactly as soft as it looks. The sheets are tucked with military precision and smell like no one’s ever used them before. Mary grinds her face into the cool pillows and briefly wonders if Steve and Bucky have never had any company over to use this bed, before falling into one of the deadest sleeps of her life.
She wakes up feeling much, much better. Steve and Bucky’s guest bedroom has an en-suite, so she goes in and does her best to freshen up with the toiletries she finds stocked there.
There are three Advil Liqui-gel capsules sitting on the bedside table when she comes out. Mary regards them sharply and glances back to the door, but it’s still closed, no sign of life heard from outside in the hallway. Either the pills were there earlier and she just didn’t notice them, or else Steve is a lot stealthier than he looks. Twisting her lips, she scoops the pills up and tosses them back to fend off the headache she can already feel brewing behind her temples.
A quick search of the room’s dresser drawers yields nothing, and she’s forced to face the fact that she’s going to have to do this confrontation dressed in only her huge tee shirt from the night before. No matter, she thinks, squaring her shoulders and reaching for the doorknob. She’s got a new strategy in mind.
“I’m sorry,” she says, when she ventures out to find Bucky and Steve sitting in the living room.
Steve reaches for the remote to mute the tv, and Bucky sits back with a doughnut that he’s just plucked from a box on the coffee table. He bites into it, looking only vaguely interested "Want one?"
She spares a glance at the box. "Are they yeasted?"
"What's that mean?" Steve asks.
Another glance reveals that they're not, and Mary turns her nose up at them. "It means you're eating shitty, overbaked cake, not a doughnut," she says snottily.
Steve just blinks and looks back at the box with a little frown. Bucky takes another huge bite of his doughnut and chews it, maintaining eye contact with her and speaking around his mouthful, "Weren't you sorry for something?"
Mary purses her lips and starts over with her contrition act. “Yes. Look, I know you guys are just trying to help me. And I know I probably seem like such a hot mess to you right now.”
“Cause you are,” Bucky drawls.
Mary quells the urge to go over there and slap the doughnut straight out of his hands. That won’t help her with this new strategy she’s decided on. ‘Honey versus vinegar’, and all that. “Yeah,” she says instead. “So I’ll admit, my life hasn’t been going very well lately. And I really did need some help.” She forces herself to give Bucky a friendly smile. “So I’m glad you were willing to step in and help me. Thank you.” Bucky is looking at her way, way too unimpressed, and Mary squirms in place, thinking that he should be looking happier at what she’s just said. “Well?” she says.
He chews another bite of doughnut for a solid five seconds, swallows, then says, “How much did it hurt you to spit that out?”
She scowls. “I was trying to be nice.”
“Mm hm.” He pats the couch beside himself in a clear invitation. “Come sit down. Have a doughnut.”
She’s obeying before she even thinks about it, though at least she has the sense to take a seat on Steve’s side of the L-shaped sectional, and not Bucky’s. “I’m not hungry,” she says, just as her stomach gives a small growl.
“Well clearly that’s a lie,” Steve chuckles.
Mary glances over at him, peeved, but decidedly less so than she is at Bucky. Steve just seems less … threatening, maybe. Whatever it is, Mary pushes it from her mind.
“Look, I’ll stick around for a few hours or something if you really want to make sure I’m okay,” she says, attention back on Bucky, because she can already tell that he’s the one she’s got to convince. “But then I have to get back to my apartment.” She sees Bucky’s expression shutter at this and quickly adds, “I understand that you’re responsible for me, temporarily, technically. And I appreciate what you’ve done. I don’t want to cause you guys any more trouble than I already have. I’m going to take steps to take better care of myself now. And we can … we can keep in touch if you want. Just so you don’t ... you know … worry.” By the end of her speech she’s lost confidence, as she can see from Bucky’s expression that this is not being received well.
"Is that all?" he asks, eyebrow arched.
“Bucky,” she complains, floundering. “Come on. This isn’t … I mean you can’t just, adopt me, or whatever. I’m not some stray dog. You don’t even know me!"
He nods. “Yeah, you’re right. I don’t.”
For one brief, overly-optimistic moment, she thinks that she’s actually going to get out of it that easy.
“But I’ll get to know you. Because you’re not leaving here anytime soon, Honey.”
All of that optimism tanks straight into a sour pit of disappointment. Mary shoots up to standing, startling Steve a bit where he's reaching for the doughnut box. “Don’t call me that,” she snaps.
Bucky takes another smug fucking bite out of his doughnut. “What?” he asks. “‘Honey’?”
“Yes! I’m not your ‘Honey’. I’m not your anything.”
He licks the sugar off his lips and stares her down. “You like it when I call you that.”
“No, I hate it,” she sneers. “Just like I hate your smug, self-satisfied face. I hate men like you.”
Bucky relaxes further back into the sofa, gesturing at her with the last of the doughnut before he stuffs it in his mouth and eats it. “Men like me, huh?” he asks once he’s swallowed, infuriating in his nonchalance.
“Yes.”
He chuckles and starts sucking his fingers clean one by one. “And what would that be?” he drawls, letting his legs splay wide on the couch cushions, thigh muscles straining against the denim of his jeans. He sees her getting distracted and hums. “Hm? Pray tell, Little girl. Do enlighten me. What are 'men like me' like?”
For one, airless second, all Mary wants in the world is to drop to her knees right between his legs, put her face at the seam of his jeans and rub her cheek against his thigh, against his …
Her thoughts go unfocused, fuzzy at the edges, static in her brain. She licks her lips absentmindedly, unable to tear her eyes away from the sight of how he’s positioned himself …
“Mary.”
The sound of her own name draws her out of it, like a slap. She meets his eyes and juts her chin out, half dizzy from the effort. “Men like you think they know everything,” she grits. “Think that they’re the end-all-be-all. Men like you don’t feel any compunction about stepping on everyone around them. Men like you think you’re so fucking smart, that you can’t even fathom the likely alternative.”
“And what would that be?”
“That you’re actually just a cocksure moron,” she hisses.
Bucky tips his head at Steve. “Stevie tells me I’m a moron every other Tuesday, don’t you Babe?”
Steve shrugs a little from where he's leaning forward, holding the lid of the doughnut box open while he tries to choose a flavor. “Well, yeah.”
Bucky smirks, so unaffected that Mary just wants to scream. “So," he says. "You ‘hate men like me’, huh?”
“Yes. I do."
“That’s why you’ve spent your whole life around them, then?”
“I …" She falters. "What?”
Bucky glances over to Steve, and the two of them have some sort of silent exchange overtop the lid of the doughnut box, wordlessly communicating in a way that evidences a years’ long relationship. When they both look back to her, it’s Steve who speaks first.
“We got to read up on you a little, while you were asleep,” he says. He nods to the laptop and packet of papers on the coffee table. “Did some research. Learned about what led up to this.”
“'This'? What are you talking about?”
“You’ve been under the control of domineering men your entire life,” Bucky says, interjecting more forcefully over Steve’s gentler tone—Mary feels like she’s getting whiplash between the two of them. “First it was your father, out in Bumfuck, Nowhereville,”
“Indiana,” Steve mutters.
“Whatever,” Bucky snaps, zeroing back in on Mary with glinting eyes. “And he was ‘that sort of man’, wasn’t he?”
Mary feels a little like she’s been punched in the gut. “So what?” she says. “So you looked me up? Hospital gave you info on me and now you think you know me? You don’t know shit.”
“Your whole life, he said jump and you said how high, right?” Bucky asks, clearly not wanting or needing an answer to the question. Maybe Mary’s expression is answer enough. She’s not quite sure what she must look like right now. Horrified maybe. Or furious. “And then you latched onto the first jerk who’d give you a ride out of town.”
“Shut up.”
“Married him, too. And that worked for you alright ... Until it didn’t.”’
The backs of her eyes are starting to feel hot. “I said: shut up,” she whispers.
Bucky nods and leans forward on the couch, as if her anger and humiliation mean nothing to him. And damn him, maybe they don’t. Maybe he likes this, the sick bastard. “If he hadn’t hit you so bad, you would’ve stayed. Right? He met your needs in every other way.”
Mary shudders. “What are you talking about?”
"I'm talking about self-medicating, Honey. It's what you've been doing. Probably since you were a little girl."
She's disgusted with herself for the tears that break through, unmoored by how Bucky knows all of these things about her, and that he's able to fill in the gaps so easily. “What the hell is your problem, huh?” She swipes angrily at her eyes. “What does any of that have to do with anything? Except for that it’s none of your goddamn business?!”
Bucky softens a little. He glances at Steve, who gives him a warning look. “Sweetheart,” he says, looking back at Mary plaintively. “The drinking and the cutting, the feeling miserable and being sad all the time; that all started after your divorce, yeah?”
That … is not what Mary expected him to say. She’d been expecting more insults, more heartless jabs at her past. “I … What?”
“Answer the question,” Steve urges gently. He looks like he’s in on some secret with Bucky, something only Mary doesn’t know.
“Yeah,” she admits warily. “I mean, divorce is … well it’s divorce. It sucks. Of course I wasn’t happy about it.” She scowls and crosses her arms. “What’s your point?”
“My point is that, dysfunctional as they were, you had very specific relationships with very specific types of men, until what, like a year ago?”
“... Year and a half,” she mutters, unease creeping up her spine at where she thinks this is going.
“Right. And that’s when all your troubles started. Because let's be real: you weren't hurting yourself before then." He tilts his head, feigning curiosity. "Why do you think that is, Mary? Why weren't you falling apart before? When you had a father touching you wrong, or a husband putting holes in your drywall?"
"Stop," she breathes.
He nods sadly. "It was was after, when you didn’t have those people in your life anymore, structuring it, telling you what to do. Once you were alone, that’s when you started to fall apart.” He levels her with a pitying gaze. "Now why do you think that is?"
Oh, hell no. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” Mary says. She actually takes a physical step back from where she’s standing. “You think what? I was using my douche ex-husband as some sort of a … a dom? My freaking father?!”
“Mary, calm down.”
“Don’t tell me to calm down!” She jabs her finger at Steve, who’s spoken. If she thought she’d been angry at these two before, well now she’s just … she’s just … “You’re fucked up,” she tells them, voice full of quiet fury. “And you,” she points at Bucky. “You might be diagnosed with some freaking mental disorder or whatever, but that doesn’t give you the right to put that fucked up psychology onto everyone else!” She jabs her thumb at her own chest. “I’m normal! I’m not like you. I don't–I don’t have …”
“Mary,”
“No! I don’t. I–I didn’t …” Vaguely, she starts to recognize that her pulse is pounding in her ears, that it’s getting harder to draw breaths. “My f-fa, my, my f-father…”
Bucky stands up and comes towards her. “Mary,”
“No!” She makes to push away, to leave the room, but he closes in too fast and before she knows it, he has one hand on her throat and one at the base of her skull, gripping her hair. And it’s not mean, the way he’s holding her, but when she jerks away it tugs her hair unpleasantly and she whines and stills. “Let go,” she gasps, terrified by the way his hands make her feel.
“Steve, a little help?”
Her heart lurches as she hears Steve move, sees him getting up off the couch and coming over. “Wait,” she whispers, afraid and not understanding why. Not understanding why she’s even whispering in the first place, instead of screaming like she should be. “No, wait, wait—”
Steve is behind her, and even though he’s hardly even doing anything, just has his hands resting on her lightly, Mary still feels a tremor run through her whole body. She feels so trapped. Fixed in place and terrified, but not because she thinks they’ll hurt her.
Because suddenly she can draw a deep breath again.
And she can see the look in Bucky’s eyes, can see how he knows that. “Please,” she whispers, closing her eyes when tears well to the surface. “Please, just, I just need to …”
“You’re okay,” Bucky soothes. “You’re okay, Mary. Just breathe against my hand. Breath against me, against Steve.”
She shakes her head, even though she knows what he means. With her eyes squeezed shut like this, she can feel both him and Steve so solidly, can feel the points where their bodies connect with hers. When she inhales, she feels them there. “What the hell?” she winds up whispering, more to herself than to them.
“You were starting to have a panic attack,” Steve murmurs. He hugs her from behind, and Mary shivers but doesn’t try to shrug him off.
“I don’t have those,” she says. Even to her own ears, it sounds weak. “I don’t,” she insists.
“First time for everything,” Bucky says.
They stand there for a long minute or two. Hell, maybe it’s more. As long as Mary keeps her eyes shut, she can at least pretend that it’s only a minute. It’s only once she opens her eyes that she has to face reality. When she does, she sees that Bucky’s watching her keenly. He looks … sad.
The thought that the man with one hand fisted in her hair and another wrapped around her throat is concerned for her strikes Mary as almost comical. She doesn’t laugh, but she also doesn’t feel close to crying anymore. “I’m okay,” she rasps, swallowing thickly. “I’m okay now.” Shaky maybe, but better. She can breathe again. “Really, I–I am.”
“Yeah?”
She nods, and the motion makes her all the more aware of his hand on her throat. She has to fight back a pleasured sigh at the feeling of it, fight to keep her eyes from fluttering closed.
Bucky shifts in, sandwiching her even closer between their bodies. “So what?” he murmurs. “You want me to let go of you now?”
“Yeah,” she says, not feeling like she wants that at all. “Please.”
He hums. “You’re very good at saying ‘please’,” he observes. “And at telling me you’re not submissive.”
“M’not,” she insists, trying harder to make her voice firm, or at least more than a pathetic, breathy whimper. She looks him in the eyes again.
When had she stopped looking him in the eyes? She can’t remember. She feels like she’s watching this all happen through the lightest sort of fog, or maybe in slow motion, like a videotape playing at only 70% speed. Something like that, she thinks dazedly. She doesn’t feel like she has to worry about it, though. It's warm and heavy and nice here; like being under bathwater.
Bucky’s not looking at her in concern anymore. He looks more relaxed now, nicer, his eyes softer around the edges. And he hasn't let go of her, either.
“She down?”
That’s Steve’s voice, coming from right behind. Mary likes the way she can feel the quiet rumble of it where he’s pressed to her back.
“Mmhm. Waay down.”
“Is it normally that easy?”
Bucky chuckles, it's a nice sound that Mary likes, the richness of it making her want more, like how chocolate makes you want more.
“No, it’s not. This is deprivation, right here. Poor thing.”
“Is she gonna be okay?”
“Oh, sure. We’ll just stay like this for a minute. She needs the contact."
Something about the two of them talking about her like she’s not there is … well it multiplies the bathwater feeling. She hears Steve asking a question, and Bucky making an unhappy noise and answering,
“It should never be this easy. Right now she’d go down for anyone, for even the smallest thing.”
“And she was working in the service industry?” A huff of breath hits Mary’s ear. “Jesus.”
“... Hey,” Mary says, sure that she should protest somehow.
But Bucky’s hand tightens just the barest bit on her throat, and he shushes her sweetly, tells her she’s a “good girl,” and kisses the top of her head.
And Mary pretty much forgets what she was going to say, after that.

Title: Take cover
Pairing: Winter soldier/Bucky barnes x reader
18+ ONLY | MINORS DNI
WARNING - The following fic contains: dark themes, stalking, obsessive/protective behavior from Bucky, Bucky is semi delusional/mentally unstable, fluff (in the end), reader is a bit naive, post-CATWS, Bucky on the run, fluff.
Summary: you discover someone has been watching you, - but like a guardian angel or a viscous stalker? You’re about to find out.
“I know what you’re doing.” You called out to the man hiding in the shadows. “Leave me the hell alone.”
For weeks you had noticed something off with your daily routine. You felt watched, - like someone had their eyes following your every movement as you went about your days.
It was about a week in where you caught a man walking the same route as yours a distance behind you. It wasn’t the first time you had been followed, - in fact you could have sworn you were followed by three men a while back but they disappeared after a second glance. This guy was someone else entirely though.
You had never seen him before, and while it could have been merely a coincidence that he was taking the same routes you take on a daily, that reassurance was quickly crossed out when you started to test him, - to see if while you stood still he’d walk right past. But he never did. When you stopped or slowed your tempo, so did he. When you walked a different route, so did he.
It was beyond creepy, and it didn’t help that he was dressed basic with his cap hiding his face and a brown jacket. Only thing that made him different from other men was his longer dark brown hair and his taller figure. Not many men in town were quite as tall as him, which made you feel even more threatened.
As you became more aware of him, you stopped taking afternoon strolls and tried your best to be in crowds to feel safer. It didn’t work much as he never seemed to loose track of you though. Walking into your favorite cafe didn’t stop him from waiting around the area to continue his stalking as soon as you got out. You didn’t think he could have a job with how much time he was occupying following you from work to back home.
You thought of going to the police, but in this town in particular there was little to no such luck of getting actual help from the police, let alone a stalker case where the guy in question could argue he’s just walking around by his right to do so. So, it left you with two options; either hope for the best of not getting murdered (or worse) by your stalker or confront him.
The 5th week was your last straw, and you decided to go with the confrontation as you were standing outside of your apartment, eying directly at the man who had done nothing but walk after you.
The man was stunned when he heard you, not leaving his spot, - as if he couldn’t believe he was caught. When your eyes at him told otherwise, he left the corner of the next block building, slowly walking towards you.
He mumbled, “I’m sorry, I was just…”
“Stop following me or I’ll call the police.” You interrupted with a harsher tone.
This seemed to make the man agitated, and he reached out his hands in surrender. “No, please! Don’t! I have a perfect explanation for it all. Hear me out, - I won’t get any closer to you.” He offers reassurance, not making you any less scared but he sounded convincing enough to give him a chance of explaining himself.
First thought that came to mind was he could possibly be working for secret service, or something like that. Crimes had been on the rise in this part of town, and there had been rumors of FBI lurking around to check after illegal activity. But what could you have possibly done to make yourself seem suspicious?
“I’m not going to hurt you, if that’s what you think. I promise, I would never. The reason why I’ve been following you all this time is to protect you, Y/N.”
How does he know my name? You had to wonder. “Protect me?” You repeated his answer in question. “What’s that supposed to mean? From what? Who are you?” You added questions, emphasizing the last one.
The man swallows before he answers, “My name is James but friends in my past used to call me Bucky, - I think. And I’m protecting you cause…there are a lot of terrible people around than you realize. People who would want to hurt you. I knew the moment I saw you that I was meant to protect you from those people.”
He thinks his name is that of what he told? Trying to protect me from terrible people? His answers confused you even more. He must be on something, and it freaked you out knowing you were dealing with a crazy person. “Y-You should seek medical attention. I don’t think you’re in your right state of mind -!”
“You don’t understand!” He interrupted you and broke out. “You’re the only thing, - person, who brings consistency to my life. Me using hours and nights looking after you, to make sure you leave for work and come home safe gives me a purpose. I… - I have nothing left to live for.”
Your lips fall a little, sad as you had only heard those lines in fiction used typically of that one hopeless character clinging to the last branch of hope before it all falls for them. Why did you have to be so sympathetic? You had no idea who this man was. One thing for sure, he was a fucking stalker.
You should call the police as you speak, but you don’t want to.
Why didn’t you want to? Why weren’t you running into your apartment and locking the front door? Why did you want to get a closer look at him?
“Sir, I…”
“Call me Bucky. Please.”
“Bucky, listen…I don’t know your life story, but this isn’t healthy. This is obsessive. We don’t even - you don’t even know me!”
“I know enough to like you.” He argued. “I know you like animals, - you sometimes trail off from your main path home over to the park to watch the dogs play there. You order any sweets at the cafe but only if there’s strawberry or vanilla in it, - strawberry milkshake, vanilla shortcake, - you name it. I know you’re a good person, always opening the door for the elderly by the library and voluntarily help stack books by the shelves. I have caught you smiling when you read romance novels. Those seem to be your favorite genre. You live alone, no siblings or parents in the picture that I know of. You’ve always been…alone, for as long as I’ve been watching after you. That makes the two of us in a sense.”
Why did he have to call you out like that? Sure, it was nothing but the truth. You didn’t have people you could call friends at work, and you had long ago lost contact with your friends from college. Also, you did in fact have no siblings but you did have parents - you just weren’t on speaking terms at the moment.
You were alone as one could possibly be.
You didn’t know what you could add to what he had said as it was mostly true, but you didn’t need to as Bucky continued, “First time I laid my eyes on you…three men walked behind you in that lonesome street in the evening. I know you saw them cause you turned around once. They had knives in their pockets, and one of them had a rope. I was only a small distance away when I heard them say ‘let’s get her’. So, as you made the corner, I beat them up, one by one. Because like I said, I wouldn’t want anyone to hurt you. You don’t deserve that at all. You deserve to be safe. That is why it’s you. It may sound dumb but I believe it was fate. I feel at peace when I know you’re okay, and I can’t remember the last time I felt that. He doesn’t allow peace in my mind, but he seems to make you an exception.”
You’re simply taken away by what you had been told. So your gut instincts were right, - you were followed then too, except apparently they hadn’t just disappeared. Your stalker took care of them.
Bucky let you process in silence till you started to get closer to him as you asked him all of a sudden, “Are you armed?”
“No…- well, I do have this…” Bucky reveals as he removes his jacket carefully, showing the metal arm he has forcibly attached to him. Your mouth parts a little, your eyes widening at the sight before you turn to look at the ground.
“You don’t have a place to stay?” You ask.
He shook his head with a sigh. “No. But I’m used to it.”
You look up again, offering the unexpected, “Come. I have an extra mattress in my apartment. You can use that while we figure out your situation.”
Bucky looked up at you in awe, beyond shocked of what you had just suggested. If it wasn’t dead quiet at this time of hour, he would have assumed he heard you wrong. “But why? I thought you said that…”
“I have heard of you, you know. That metal arm of yours with the red star…you have been around for quite some time, yet you haven’t aged. My uncle who worked for the military knew about you as he was a witness at the Hotel Inessa where an assassin with a metal arm just like yours committed a massacre. Ever since that day he used the next years connecting the dots to previous cases, and he told me all about it once. That was before…he got taken out within the base. No one knew for what particular reason but I always knew. And what do I know, he was right. You’re real. You’re the winter soldier.” You conclude, putting Bucky on the spot as he realized just how small the world was.
The odds of someone outside of government officials knowing of his past was unlikely, yet here he was, the one person he found purpose with knew about it. He didn’t like it. She must think I’m a monster, - rightfully so, he thought. “I don’t know what to say…I-“
“You didn’t kill him.” You cut him off, “Person of interest was described to have two human arms. He was presumably a Russian spy within the base and took it upon himself to take out my uncle before more came out about what he knew.”
He shrugs, “Still…it doesn’t make sense why you would allow me into your home, - now knowing what I’ve done, what I was controlled to do. It was still me. So again I ask…why?”
“Because, I need answers,” you reasoned. “And knowing what I’ve learned about you, you would have taken me out a long time ago if you had plans to do so. And it’s clear to me that you’re a bit out of it but from what I understand, seeking psychiatrical help is out of the question for you. So let’s help each other. You’ve been in hiding, right?”
Bucky nodded again, “They’re still after me, you know. I can’t drag you into my mess.”
“Well, you have been good at hiding so far, and if something happens you’ll protect me, right? Like you’ve done all this time.” You remind him.
He smiled shyly as he let out a quiet ‘yeah’. He was sure he would keep doing that with his life.
With that, you let him into your place, not aware that this was only the beginning of a heartfelt relationship with the ex-winter soldier himself, - one that would bond the two of you for eternity.
N/A: I know this was short but there might be a part two for this if I’m feeling up for it! Let me know what you liked and if you’d like a next part.
Hearts & Reblogs are very appreciated! Thank you!

Hopelessly Devoted (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
Words: 3.7K
Warnings/Themes: Domestic Life, Domestic Fluff, Talk of marriage, Talk of having kids, Marriage Proposal
Characters/Pairings: Bucky x Reader, Dr. Raynor
“How are things going with Y/N?”
He stared at the wall behind the woman. Can’t really say ‘older woman,’ seeing as how he is practically twice her age. But she does look older, he thought to himself. And she likes to nag like his grandmother did.
“Fine. Things are fine.” He’d do anything to be out of this room and with Y/N instead. He’d rather be with her than do anything else, in fact. That’s how ‘fine’ things are going.
“And you two are still doing your own exercises at home?” She questioned him again, her passive-aggressive notebook still sitting on the table next to her. If he were being honest, the exercises he and Y/N did at home helped him far better than sitting in this room with this old crone.
“Yeah.”
“And how are those going?” Question after question. Y/N didn’t need to ask so many questions. She just knew. Granted, her ability to slip into others’ minds helped. Bucky hesitated before giving an answer. If he answered at all the Doc would see that as cooperation and he didn’t feel like doing that. If he lied, she would see through it. But if he told the truth… She would probably see it as progress, and he might be able to quit these court-mandated sessions soon. Truth it is.
“I didn’t have a nightmare last night,” he offered, not quite meeting her eyes, looking at the middle of her forehead. Her eyebrows rose.
“Good. That’s very good.” She paused to observe him; her gaze was cold and calculating compared to the one at home. The one that holds his gaze with so much love and understanding that it makes his chest feel like it was splintering.
“What did you dream about?” She asked.
“That’s kinda personal, Doc.” He hoped the lilt he forced into his voice would satisfy her, trying to imply it was some intimate dream about him and his girlfriend. In a way, it had been.
“This is therapy; it’s supposed to be personal.” She gave him a flat look. Darn. Bucky rubbed his palms on his jeans and looked out the window. He should have just lied.
“James, what did you dream about?” She asked again, her tone slightly softer. “Did you hurt her? In your dream?” She read his anxiousness wrong. Y/N wouldn’t have; even without her powers.
“I said I didn’t have a nightmare.” It would have been the worst nightmare he could possibly have. He couldn’t even bare to think of hurting her. Luckily, he has not had a dream of hurting her. Not after she had laid his ass flat multiple times with just a brush of her powers over his mind. Not after she shoved the soldier back into the basement of his mind when they first met in Berlin.
“So, it was a good one?”
“I didn’t say that.” No, but it had been. It was everything he had dreamed of. He and Y/N, married. A nice house with a white picket fence. The laughter of their kids in the backyard with their dog. And the two of them slow dancing in the kitchen, flour in her hair from baking. The sunlight was soft as it filtered through the lace curtains.
It was everything he had thought he’d have when he had come home from the War. But he never did.
And now that he was getting a taste of it… He didn’t feel like he deserved it.
A tone filled the room, some musical piece to indicate their session was over. It pulled him from reliving his dream. Saved by the bell.
“Well, we’ll pick up here next week, then.” She uncrossed her legs and grabbed her notebook, writing a few notes. He wasted no time to shoot off the couch and make his way to the door, barely mumbling a farewell to the Doc.
“But James,” she called as his metal hand wrapped around the door handle. He paused but didn’t look back at her. She sighed. “You do deserve whatever you dreamt about.” How she knew what kind of dream it had been was beyond him, but her words had his chest constricting.
“Bye, Doc.” He left the room.
Bucky returned to the Compound around lunchtime; he knew she would be in their shared apartment with food waiting. She always ordered the best comfort food on the days he had to see Dr. Raynor. Sushi.
Her singing reached his ears before he opened the door; the sweet sound sent his heart soaring. He smiled as he silently walked to the kitchen and leaned against the doorframe. She had yet to notice him, with her headphones in and her focus on the dough in front of her.
She was an absolute vision. Her hair was up in a messy bun, secured by a floral pattern scrunchie. She wore one of his white t-shirts that hugged her in all the right places, paired with floral pajama shorts. Simple white socks covered her usually frigid toes.
And she was singing like an angel. A song he hadn’t heard yet, though that was not a surprise. But man, did he sure love hearing her sing.
“My head is saying, ‘Fool, forget him.’ My heart is saying, ‘Don’t let go, hold on to the end,' that’s what I intend to do. I’m hopelessly devoted to you.” She swayed as she rolled up her dough, completely lost in her song.
He let her finish her song before coming up behind her, just as she was placing her unbaked cinnamon rolls in the pan to proof. She smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“I was wondering when you’d come and give me a hug. You were standing over there staring at me like a creeper.” She chuckled, twisting in his hold after placing a tea towel over her pan. She removed her headphones and placed them and her phone on the counter.
“Sorry, I was enjoying the view too much.” He returned her smile before pressing a kiss to her lips. She grinned into the kiss, threading her floury hands into the short hair at the base of his neck. When they parted, their eyes locked, and he rested his forehead against hers. Their eyes glazed as he allowed her into his head.
It was something they both agreed on. After every session with Dr. Raynor, Bucky would report everything that had happened during the session, including the things he thought about but didn’t say out loud. They both knew it would be easier for him to open up about certain things with her over his shrink, so the issue was never pushed on him to be more open with the Doc.
“Hm… I have to say I agree with her parting statement,” Y/N remarked as she pulled away. “But first, let’s eat. I could feel how hungry you are.”
Bucky forced a smile and helped her set out the sushi she had kept in the fridge until he got home. She had ordered a lot more than she normally did. Probably because of his dream last night. He didn’t show her his dream. Rather, his emotions were so high during the dream that she somehow got sucked into his mind and was living it with him. They had a small talk about it that morning before his appointment.
They ate in comfortable silence for a while, just enjoying the food and each other’s company. This is why he preferred his exercises with Y/N over his sessions with Dr. Raynor. Y/N never pushed him to talk. Never used a notebook as a weapon to get him to talk. She was patient and warm and kind. She understood that adjusting to this new life of his was hard; especially after everything he has done.
Forced to do. He reminded himself. It was one exercise Y/N had him practicing. Just rewording his thoughts. He didn’t have to believe it, not yet, but he just had to say it to himself. Eventually, he’d find himself believing it, she had said. She said it with such conviction that he couldn’t help but believe her. Because that’s how she got herself out of her dark place.
“What was that song you were singing?” He asked after they had eaten their fill and were cleaning up. She nearly dropped the dish in her hand as she whipped her head around to look at him. You would have thought he had slapped her with the look of pure shock and offense on her face.
“Excuse me? What song-? What?” She sputtered and shook her head in disbelief. He gave an incredulous laugh at her behavior.
“Is it really that much of a surprise that I don’t know it?”
“Yes!” She answered quickly. “It absolutely is, seeing as how we’ve known and been together for literal years, now. I can’t believe we’ve never watched Grease!”
She didn’t give him time to question anymore as she snatched the plate from his hands and carelessly tossed it into the sink and began pushing him to the bedroom.
“Dishes can wait! You get your old ass into some comfy clothes while I set up the classroom, because you’re gonna learn just how great of a movie Grease is, and you are going to like it.” Her tone left no room for arguments as she gave him one last push into the bedroom before disappearing into the living room.
He chuckled but did as he was told and slipped into some gray sweatpants that Y/N had once told him were obscene, and a cozy black hoodie. He took an extra moment to grab the large, fluffy blanket from their bed so they could cuddle under it.
When he entered the living room the movie was already pulled up on Prime Video and she was nowhere to be seen. The smell and sound of popcorn cooking gave away her position in the kitchen, along with her singing.
He grinned and tossed the blanket onto the couch before sneaking into the kitchen. She had just pulled the bag out of the microwave and was putting it in the large bowl, two sodas already on the counter. Defenses down. Shot clear. She set the bowl down and reached for the candy in the cabinet. Taking the shot.
Swooping low, Bucky knocked her legs out with his arm under her knees, the other wrapping around her back and lifting her into the air. A shriek of surprise turned into laughter, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling his face to hers. She gave him a loud, sloppy kiss.
“Should we get this show on the road?” He asked when they parted. She nodded and grabbed the bowl and candy and sodas, holding them in her lap as it seemed he wasn’t putting her down until they got to the living room.
He deposited her on the couch and sat next to her, pulling her legs onto his lap, and tossing the large blanket over them. She pressed play and nuzzled into his side. Bucky wrapped his arms tighter around her, kissing her temple.
As they watched, Bucky would ask questions or make comments on the characters. Y/N was happy to see him so engaged and genuinely enjoying the movie. Over the years, she would watch movies with him, trying to catch him up on pop culture. His favorites so far had been the original trilogy of Star Wars.
“Danny is a bit of a tool,” Bucky said out of nowhere. They had been sitting in silence during the prom scene and had finally reached the drive-in scene. Y/N left out a barking laugh at the sudden declaration.
“You know, he definitely is!”
><
By the time the movie ended, it was mid-afternoon, and Y/N was yawning. It was her usual nap time. Her work for Tony Stark and the Avengers usually had her sleeping at random times, just as inconsistent as Bucky’s sleeping schedule, mostly because part of her job was to help Bucky.
“How’d you like the movie?” She asked, stretching out her legs before standing from the couch.
“Definitely in the top ten.” Bucky’s eyes raked up her stretching form, the shorts, the way his shirt hugged her curves, and her messy bun at the top of her head. It all had him feeling like the luckiest man in the universe.
“Only the top ten? Why? And in what place?” She stood in front of him with her hands on her hips and a slight pout on her lips. This was definitely in the top five for her.
“Don’t get me wrong, the movie was great, and I loved it. But I’d probably place it at number six.” Okay, sixth place wasn’t that bad, just one movie away from being top five.
“Okay, so the top three I know is the Star Wars trilogy, and fourth place is the first Hobbit… But what is fifth place? What’s better than Grease?” She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. Bucky laughed awkwardly and looked away, a blush on his cheeks.
“Nothing…” He had seen this movie a couple of times and he loved it. The characters, the music, and the plot, it was all great. But it seemed… a little embarrassing for him to like it. He was still very old-fashioned and the style of dancing and clothing in this movie had him a little flustered.
“Oh, come on! What movie?” Y/N stepped forward until she stood between his legs and then bent over him, caging his head with her arms resting on the couch behind him. He turned his face to the side, not wanting to look into those inviting eyes.
She could just look into his mind with her abilities, but that would be an invasion of privacy and when she gained these powers, she vowed to never look into someone else’s mind without consent. Because consent is sexy.
“You can’t laugh.” He mumbled, still not making eye contact with his girlfriend. She rolled her eyes but smiled anyway.
“I’d never laugh at you, dear.” A blatant lie, they both knew.
“Liar.” Bucky reached up to pinch her side. She squealed and her knees buckled, allowing him to pull her onto his lap. “Just this morning you laughed at me because I asked where that kid’s parents were.”
Y/N let out another laugh as she recalled Bucky’s reaction this morning to a TikTok she had been watching. Some pre-teen girl was cursing about something wrong in her life and Bucky happened to catch the colorful language as he passed by.
Y/N definitely agreed with him, but coming from the 106-year-old soldier, it just sounded like the most grandpa response he could have come up with.
“Oh, but it was the cutest thing!” She snuggled into him, pressing her face into his bearded cheek. He let out a hmph and tried to turn his face away again. But her hands came up to hold him in place and she littered kisses all over his face. “Please, Buck? I won’t laugh.”
Bucky knew if he looked at her, he’d see those big puppy eyes and he would immediately crack. But her hands running over his chest and neck were having the same effect anyway. He tossed his head back against the back of the couch with a groan. She grinned, knowing she got him.
“Fine.” He hesitated for a moment, chewing on the inside of his lip. “It’s… di…cing..”
She tilted her head in confusion, “Come again?”
“Dirty Dancing! Okay? I like Dirty Dancing.”
Y/N had to press her lips into a tight line to stop the laugh that was bubbling up due to his outburst. She wasn’t laughing at his choice of movie, but just the way he said it. His face was bright red, and he was glaring up at the ceiling.
“Awww, Buck! That’s so cute!” She squealed and smothered him in kisses. He groaned and stood up, dropping her to the couch as she laughed.
“You lair! You said you wouldn’t laugh!” He made to stomp away but she rolled off the couch to the floor and grabbed his ankle.
“I’m not laughing at your choice of movie, I promise! I love that movie, too, Buck!”
“Nope, too late. Release me, you leech.” He began shuffling his way to their bedroom. She wrapped her arms around his ankle and forced him to drag her.
“Never!” She cried in defiance and reached up with one hand to tickle the back of his knee. He buckled and hit the ground. She could feel his panic as he began to army crawl away. She cackled evilly as she grabbed the back of his hoodie and dragged herself forward to straddle his back.
“No! Please! Lemme go- HA!” She had begun her assault on his sides. His scream-laughing had her chest filling with light and joy. It wasnt so long ago that he never even smiled. So, to hear him let loose in such a way made her feel like the luckiest woman in the universe. To be able to have him like this. To love him like this. She wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Her fingers slowed until they rested along his scapulas. He turned his head to stare at her from the corner of one blue eye. His brows were drawn suspiciously. However, the soft smile on her face had his face relaxing into an easy smile. She leaned down and pressed a warm kiss to his stubbled cheek.
“I love you, Bucky,” She whispered in his ear before standing up. He was quick to his feet and even quicker to pull her into his arms. His lips sealed over hers in a chaste kiss.
“I love you more, Dollface.” He said in between peppering kisses over her face. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning into his affections.
They both lived for days like this. It was a battle getting here, but it was well worth it. The calm that enveloped their cozy apartment, the warmth that filled everyone who entered. The quiet as they lay in bed, and the ruckus of them teasing each other. This was Bucky’s entire world. Right here. In her arms.
They had calmed down and were simply holding each other, both lost in thought of their love for the other. She gently stroked her fingers down the back of his head, letting her nails scrape against his scalp. She could feel the goosebumps rising under her other hand.
He was giving her the same treatment with his arms wrapped around her waist, his right hand tracing up and down her spine. He was so warm against her. She sighed contently against his skin, dropping a kiss to the space his shoulder met his neck. He hummed in happiness.
Oh yeah, he was going to make the dream he had last night come true. The second she fell asleep for her nap he was going to look up rings. And maybe a house. And at the shelter for a dog, or maybe a cat. Hell, he should look at baby cribs while he’s at it.
“What are you thinking about so hard, Bucky? I can smell smoke,” she teased. He grumbled and nipped her neck.
“Rude. And here I was thinking about how good you would look in a wedding dress.” He released her and tried to pull away. “But nevermind.”
“Wait! What?” She tightened her arms around him, preventing him from going anywhere, not like he truly planned to anyway. He was far too happy in her embrace to be out of it for long anyway. “You were thinking of me in a wedding dress? Is it because of your dream last night?”
Bucky stepped closer to her again, his hands on her hips stroking circles with his thumbs. “Well, yeah. Last night was the first time I dreamed of us being married… But it’s not the first time I thought about it.”
Hope and unadulterated joy filled her chest. Not a day went by since she confessed to him last year that she didn’t think of what it would be like to be called, Mrs. Barnes.
“Come here!” She pulled away from him and grabbed his hand, dragging him into their room. He had whiplash. One second he was saying he wanted to marry her and the next she was dragging him through their home.
In the bedroom, she went to the desk and pulled a notebook from the drawer. It was the one she kept with her during briefings and other meetings.
“Do you remember a few months ago when we were in a meeting and you asked what I was doodling?” She held the book to her chest nervously. Her feet were pressed together, fidgeting. He nodded slowly. He wasn’t entirely sure where she was going with this.
“Okay, well, I wasn’t really doodling… I was writing this.” She opened the notebook to a page in the middle and handed it over to him. He took it with shaking hands as hope and anticipation flooded his senses.
Mrs. Barnes <3
It was written over and over again on the page. Some with her first name. Some with her first and middle. She even looked to be practicing different signatures with Barnes as her last name.
“I’m sorry… it’s kinda weird, I’m just now realizing… We can forget it-”
He silenced her with a soul-searing kiss. He was never forgetting this. She wanted to marry him just as much as he wanted to marry her. Her hands dropped the notebook to instead grip his hoodie and pull him in closer.
When they pulled away their faces had matching love-drunk grins.
“I don’t have a ring and I don’t want to let you go to kneel, but will you, Y/N L/N, do me the very high honor of marrying me?” Bucky’s blue eyes peered into her own, bright and hopeful. She giggled and pulled him into a tight hug, her arms now around his neck and her lips against his ear.
“Of course, I will.”

Hide Daddy's Arm
Pairing: daddy!bucky x little!reader, Sam x little!reader
Warnings: Age Regression, fluff
A/N: Thank you to the sweet little anon for giving me ideas for this fic!
⭒𖥸⭒
"OK! So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna take off your daddy's arm, and you can play with it, ok?" Sam asked, and you grin around your paci.
"Ok!"
Sam was there because he needed to talk to Bucky about some business. That business was about taking care of you while Bucky was on a mission.
~~~
"What the hell? Where the hell is my arm?" Bucky grumbles. "I'm freaking lopsided." Bucky was lopsided because he wasn't used to him not having the weight of his arm.
Bucky stocks to your room, wondering if you knew anything. "Baby, where is my ar-"
There you are sitting with his arm at your tea table. It has magnets and stickers all over it. God, the stickers were hard to get off.
"Hi!" You say as you stare at you beautiful bare chested lopsided daddy. You can't help but let out a little laugh.
"Baby, I need my arm back." You didn't wanna give your daddy his arm back. You love his cold arm. "Uhhh, fine, Daddy."
~~~
"Uncle Sam! Daddy is taking a nap! We should play 'hide daddy's arm'!"
"Ohhh, that's a great idea, bug!"
"No, not weally, Uncle Sam, bu let's do it anyway!"
You took your daddies arm off and decided to put it in the washer. It needed a wash, but you didn't wanna wash it without permission. Even though you take his arm without permission.
~~~
An hour later.
"Really? Again?" Said a grumpy Bucky. "Baby, come here now!"
You ran to your daddy to see what he wanted.
"Hi, Daddy!"
"Baby, did Uncle Sammy help you take my arm off again?"
"Yes, Daddy!" You say while giggling.
"OK baby, let's play. Go get daddies arm within a minute, and you'll get alllll the candy you want for today!"
"Ok, Daddy! I'll gets ya arm!"
As you get your daddies arm, he'd thinks of an idea of how to get you to stop stealing his arm. This would be the 5th time this week you took it.
You finally came back dragging his arm into the room.
"Baby," He says as he sits on the bed and pulls you with him. "If you don't stop this game of 'hide daddy's arm'," Uncle Sam is gonna get time out. Do you want that baby?"
You gasp, "No, daddy! No time out, fa Sammy! We'll quit!"
"Promise?" You daddy asked.
"Pomise, Daddy!"
"Thank you, Rocket!"
"Wocket?"
The day ended with you high on sugar and Sammy having a talk with your daddy.
Ricochet (Part 3)
Pairing: Bucky x Fem! Reader
Slow Burn/ Enemies to Lovers
Word Count: 1.2K
Part 1 / Part 2
One Month Later
Reader’s POV
I didn’t know when it happened, but things between Bucky and me had settled into something that almost resembled friendship—or at least tolerance. He still had his grumpy moments, but now, when he snapped, it felt less like outright disdain and more like… banter.
It was confusing, infuriating, and worst of all, kind of addictive.
The others had noticed too. Sam wouldn’t stop teasing us about the “will-they-won’t-they energy,” as he so eloquently put it, and even Clint had started placing bets on when one of us would finally crack.
I told myself it didn’t matter. We were colleagues, teammates. That was it.
But then there were moments—quiet, fleeting moments—where his guard dropped, and I saw the man beneath the scowl. The man who offered me ice packs without being asked, who always positioned himself between me and danger, who sometimes looked at me like I was the only person in the room.
I hated how much I liked it.
The Catalyst
It all came to a head on a rainy night in Vienna.
The mission was supposed to be simple: gather intel on a Hydra sleeper cell and get out. No combat, no explosions, no drama. But if there was one thing I’d learned as an Avenger, it was that things never went according to plan.
Bucky and I were undercover, posing as a couple to avoid suspicion. I still didn’t know why they’d paired us—maybe Fury had a cruel sense of humor—but here we were, sitting across from each other in a dimly lit café, pretending to be madly in love.
“Stop glaring,” I muttered, sipping my coffee.
“I’m not glaring,” he shot back, his voice low but sharp.
“You look like you’re planning my murder,” I said with a pointed glance. “Which, in case you forgot, doesn’t really sell the whole ‘happy couple’ thing.”
He grumbled something under his breath but leaned back in his chair, forcing a more neutral expression. It didn’t help much—he still looked like a bodyguard about to snap someone’s neck.
“Better?” he asked.
“Marginally,” I said, hiding a smirk.
We sat in silence for a while, scanning the café for anything suspicious. The rain outside blurred the windows, creating a cocoon of muted sound. It should have been calming, but the tension between us was electric, buzzing just beneath the surface.
“Why do you do it?” he asked suddenly, his voice softer than I’d ever heard it.
I blinked, caught off guard. “Do what?”
“This.” He gestured vaguely to the café, the mission, the life we’d chosen. “Why do you keep fighting?”
I hesitated, searching for the right words. “Because if I don’t, who will? Hydra took so much from me. I can’t get it back, but I can stop them from doing it to someone else.”
His gaze softened, and for a moment, the walls around him seemed to crack.
“I get that,” he said quietly.
Something shifted between us then, an unspoken understanding that settled into the space like a fragile thread.
But before I could say anything, my earpiece crackled to life.
“Guys, we’ve got company,” Sam’s voice said urgently. “Two cars pulling up outside. Looks like Hydra.”
Bucky’s POV
The moment Sam’s warning came through, Y/N and I were on our feet, moving in perfect sync.
“Back exit,” I murmured, grabbing her arm and steering her toward the kitchen.
We slipped through the narrow corridor, past confused waitstaff, and out into the rainy alley behind the café. The sound of footsteps and voices echoed behind us—Hydra wasn’t far.
“This way,” she said, darting down a side street.
I followed without question, my metal arm flexing as I prepared for a fight. We didn’t get far before a black SUV screeched to a halt in front of us, cutting off our escape.
“Damn it,” she muttered, drawing her weapon.
I stepped in front of her, raising my arm as a shield. The Hydra agents spilled out of the SUV, guns drawn, their faces grim.
“Stay behind me,” I said.
“No chance,” she shot back, moving to my side.
I didn’t have time to argue. The first shot rang out, and chaos erupted.
Reader’s POV
Fighting in the rain was a special kind of hell. The ground was slick, my hair was plastered to my face, and my movements felt sluggish, but I couldn’t afford to slow down.
Bucky was a blur of metal and muscle beside me, his strikes brutal and precise. For every agent I took down, he took down two more. It should have been intimidating, but instead, it was… reassuring.
We worked in perfect tandem, covering each other’s blind spots, moving as one.
But then I saw it—the Hydra agent raising his weapon, aiming straight for Bucky’s unprotected back.
“Bucky!” I shouted, lunging forward without thinking.
The shot rang out, loud and sharp, and pain exploded in my side.
Bucky’s POV
I heard her scream before I saw her fall.
My vision went red as I took down the last Hydra agent, my movements mechanical, efficient, deadly. When the alley finally fell silent, I turned and saw her lying on the ground, clutching her side.
“Y/N!” I dropped to my knees beside her, panic clawing at my chest.
“I’m fine,” she said through gritted teeth, though her pale face told a different story.
“You’re not fine,” I snapped, pressing my hand over the wound to slow the bleeding.
She winced but didn’t push me away. “Did we get them?”
“Yeah,” I said, my voice tight. “We got them.”
Her lips curved into a faint, pained smile. “Good.”
I didn’t know what possessed me, but in that moment, I couldn’t hold back.
“Don’t you ever do that again,” I said, my voice low and rough.
“Do what?” she asked, her brow furrowing.
“Take a bullet for me,” I growled. “I don’t need saving.”
She blinked, her expression softening despite the pain. “Too bad,” she murmured. “I save people. Even grumpy ones.”
Reader’s POV
His hand was warm against mine, his blue eyes fierce and filled with something I couldn’t quite name.
“You’re an idiot,” he muttered, but there was no bite to his words.
“So are you,” I shot back weakly.
For a moment, we just stared at each other, the rain falling around us, the rest of the world fading into the background.
And then, to my utter shock, he leaned down and pressed his forehead against mine.
“Don’t scare me like that again,” he whispered.
I wanted to say something, anything, but the darkness was already creeping in at the edges of my vision.
Bucky’s POV
I carried her back to the jet, my heart pounding with every step. She was still breathing, still fighting, but the sight of her blood soaking through my shirt made me want to tear the world apart.
By the time we got her to the Tower’s med bay, she was stable, but the image of her collapsing in that alley was burned into my mind.
I stayed by her side that night, watching her sleep, my chest heavy with an emotion I couldn’t name.
All I knew was that I couldn’t lose her. Not now. Not ever.
Please Don't Leave Me (Pt. 3)
Bucky Barnes x Reader
(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 4) (Part 5)
Warning: Violence
There are a lot of things that you aren't told about when you fall in love. Everyone wants to say that it's the greatest feeling in the world but they don’t tell you about the fear. When you can’t breathe without someone. When your heart would literally stop beating the moment theirs did. When they are everything, you can lose everything. The fear is debilitating.
That’s exactly how you felt. Bucky was going on missions left and right and you were by his side. You knew he could handle himself but it still scared you nonetheless
“The goal is to get in and out as fast as possible.” Steve said. Pointing at the board he lectured the group, everyone listening intently except for you. You gnawed on your lip and stared through the screen. You knew you should be listening but you just kept replaying the last mission in your head.
There was shooting and the sound of explosions. Your job was to get inside the main room and steal the files of the terrorist group. A simple task, plug in the hardrive, wait for it to upload, and get the fuck out. Simple. You didn’t have to be in the action. The guns in your thigh holsters bored from lack of use.
Then everything went wrong. Guards infiltrated the room. They were expecting you, something that no one anticipated. The hard drive wasn’t finished uploading and you needed time.
“Hey!” The man yelled and raised their guns. You lifted your gun and fired two shots hitting one of them before you ducked down behind the desks as gun fire started to rain on you.
“Guys. We have a situation.” You yelled through your earpiece.
“In the main lab. Seven guards. The hard drive isn’t finished uploading. I need help.” You said as you fire two more shots.
“Get out. We will come back for the drive. I’m coming right now.” Steve's voice rang clear.
“I don’t have an exit, Rogers.” You ground out.
"Your knight in shining armor is coming to save you, Princess. Stay down till I get there.” Tony spoke. You waited firing shots here and there until everything got really quiet. You knew they were planning an attack. Before you knew what was happening a grenade was rolled behind the desk. You kicked it diving to the other side of the room behind another desk. It exploded and you were sent flying. The hard drive surely destroyed.
You coughed pushing away debris that had landed on you. Sut covered your face.
“Abort, the hard drive is destroyed". As the smoke cleared you could hear the men making their way through the room. You had two options, pretend to be dead or try to sneak to the exit. You chose the first, knowing that there was no one you could get away without being too loud. A piece of shrapnel deep in your leg. You were on your side with guns concealed and you waited for the men. The men approached you and inspected your form.
“The girl is dead, find the asset.” He spoke through his earpiece, gun lowered. There were four guards. One went to roll you over and you fired your weapon hitting the unsuspecting guard. Then started to fire on the other ones. Each body hitting the floor. Your breath was ragged. Adrenaline coursed through your veins.
You got up quickly, not waiting for more men to come. You went to slip out of the exit gun raised, until it was knocked out of your hands and someone grabbed you from behind. You fought them off but their grip was too tight. You could hear a voice but nothing was clear.
“Shhh, it's me.” Bucky. You stopped flailing and he slowly let you go.
“Thank god.” You said.
“We have to go.” You nodded and followed Bucky until you both made it safely to the quinjet.
“What were you thinking?” Bucky grabbed your shoulder.
“What-”
“Don’t 'what' me. You could have gotten yourself killed.”
“Are you kidding me? No one was expecting that! What was I supposed to do just sit ar-”
“You didn’t even check your surroundings. I could have been anyone outside of that door.” He yelled. Your face fell. Nothing had even happened. Everyone was safe. He stared into you and then brushed past you. The rest of the flight not a word was uttered between you.
“We don’t know who this terrorist group is. We need to find out. There are bases popping up everywhere. Y/n you will get to the main room and use the hard drive to collect intel.” Steve said.
“Sorry Cap but I disagree. I say we kill them all and make them tell us who the hell they are. Good ole blaster to the dome interrogation.” Tony spoke up.
“We can’t risk another failed mission. I appreciate your whole John McClane act, princess but that’s not gonna get this done.” He finished.
“This is the mission, Tony. If plan A doesn’t work, plan B sounds wonderful.” Natasha spoke.
“Okay, quinjet in 20.” Cap said, picking up the files on the table. Everyone went to leave the room and Steve called your name.
“If you’re not up for this, tell me. I’ll let Nat do it. You can sit this one out, it's not a big deal.” He said kindly.
“No, I’ve got this. I won’t fuck it up this time.” You said as you walked out of the conference room. Steve sighed. That was not what he meant. He knew how personally you took the failure after Bucky made a scene on the jet. You hadn’t spoken for the last two days.
So that led you to where you are now. In the main room the drive plugged into the large computer. You tapped your fingers on the desk waiting for the file to download. You couldn’t help but look into the information before you unplugged the drive, it was complete and it wasn’t technically against the rules to look. You had already hacked in anyway. You scrolled through the documents clicking away at the keys.
HYDRA. Your breath left your body. Everything clicked. You remembered the guards' use of the word ‘asset’. Bucky. His face popped up on the screen. Pictures flashed. Bucky walking down the street. You and Bucky eating at a restaurant. Bucky on past missions. They were watching him
“Oh my god.” You ripped the drive out and ran. So many thoughts ran through your head. This is the fear. This is the dread you felt because you loved Bucky so much. You couldn’t imagine a life without him. Nausea started to spread through your throat. Under your ears pressure grew. You had to get Bucky out of here.
“I got the drive. Get out now” You yelled into your ear piece. Tears started to form.
“We still have business to take care of Princess” Tony said and you could hear his blasters.
“Get out now!” you yelled firing your gun at two more guards. You hated killing but right now you would kill anyone. You spotted Bucky fighting off three guards at once and you didn’t hesitate to kill them. Bullets flying out of your gun like it was nothing. You looked ruthless. Bucky looked surprised. He knew you never fired your weapon unless you needed to. You grabbed your other gun and held them both up. You saw Nat going hand to hand and you shot. Steve was fighting with just his shield and you again fired your weapon at his attacker.
“Don’t make me say it again. We are leaving now.” No one questioned and headed toward the quinjet. Bucky was confused but everyone obeyed. Once on the quinjet, everyone stayed quiet. You sat in the corner stone faced and looked down at the ground thinking about everything.
“Did you get the drive?” Clint yelled back from the pilot seat. You didn't answer but tossed the drive on the table across the room. Everyone was confused. Nat came and sat by you. Not saying a word because that's what she knew you needed. She knew you wouldn't have told everyone to leave without a reason. Steve bent down and picked up the drive. You could hear people whispering but you tuned them out.
Once you got back to the tower you headed straight to your room. You didn't waste your time going to debrief in the conference room and you certainly didn't go to the med bay to get the hole in your leg restitched. You felt it bleed through your black suit but didn't pay any attention to it. You were in shock. What were you going to do? You wouldn't let them get to Bucky. You would do anything to stop it from happening.
You wiped away the tears that started to fall. You sat on the floor and leaned on the edge of your bed. Tears started to flow and you angrily wiped them away but you felt your breathing start to pick up.
“Sergeant Barnes. Ms. L/n may require your assistance in her room. She appears to be experiencing pulmonary distress.” Jarvis said to Bucky, who was taking off his battle gear. His face looked up to the ceiling as if to talk to the AI.
“What happened Jarvis?”
“It is unclear Sergeant Barnes but I believe you should assess the situation. I believe Ms. L/n is experiencing a panic attack.” Bucky wasted no time and made his way to your room. He knocked voraciously.
“Y/n open the door. Please let me in” On the other side of the door you couldn't hear him. Your hands on the side of your head covering your ears. Fear ate at you. You couldn't imagine what they were going to do to him.
“Please, doll, open the door. We agreed we weren't going to do this. You can come to me, you know I am here for you. Open the door now.” Bucky pleaded. He pressed his ear to the door and could hear the sounds of your ragged breath.
“Jarvis opened the door.”
“Sergeant Barnes. Ms. L/n likes her privacy. I'm not sure that is a good idea.”
“If you don't open the door I will break it down.” he threatened Jarvis. There was a click and the door was unlocked. He opened it with haste and saw you shaking on the ground, hands in your hair and you kept saying “No”. He rushed to you and placed his hands on your bent knees.
“Y/n breathe with me. Come on, you got this. Nothing can hurt you here. It's just me.” He said and you finally made out that it was Bucky and your eye met his. Your breath started to slow. He made himself hold back from touching you too much because he didn't want to freak you out. Before he knew what was happening you launched yourself toward him and wrapped your arms around his neck sobbing.
“They wanted to hurt you. I couldn't let them. '' You cried.
‘Who? No one is here. It's just me and you. No one can hurt me” he said, grabbing the back of your head.
“They're back, Bucky. They want you. They were going to kill me to get to you.” You said, fear lacing your voice.
“What are you talking about?” He said pulling back. You took a moment to speak.
“HYDRA” you whispered. His eyebrows scrunched up and he looked confused. The drive.
“I can’t let them. I will do anything to make sure they can’t get you. I will kill every person you dares look at you. I will die a million times before-”
“Shh shh. You don't risk your life for me.”
“But-”
“No! That's an order.” He yelled. Your lip quivered.
“I can’t live without you. If you die I die. I will risk my life to save you. I don't care what orders you give me. I physically couldn't stop myself. I can’t breathe without you, James.” You stated. His hands were on the side of your face. Your eyes were red as well as your nose.
“I don’t want to hear that. Nothing is happening to either of us. I won't let it.” He reassured me.
“James.”
“Yes, doll.”
“I love you.” You breathed in. His eyes softened and he stared into your soul.
“God, doll. I've loved you since the day I met you. I’ve been waiting to hear that forever. I love you.” He kissed you/
“I love you.” Another kiss.
“I love you.” He wouldn't stop kissing you.
“What are we going to do about HYDRA? They want you back, there were pictures of me and you. They watch us all the time. They won't stop until they get to you.” You said sniffling.
“We kill them. All of them.”
