Peter nodded, a look of defeat as he resigned himself to some scans, likely by Dr. Cho's machine. Honestly that avoidance of medical intervention was more not wanting people outside of himself or maybe his Dad or Uncle Banner trying to study his powers in some way
But he knew that his Dad trusted the medical staff he had employed for The Avengers. "Don't tell Mom or Aunt May?" He both didn't want them worrying or the 2 additional lectures that would come with that.
Tony sighed softly. He hated seeing his son like this. Hated seeing him broken and hurt. But Peter loved being Spider-man. He loved being able to help out the city that he loved just like how his father protected the world.
That wouldn't ever change that Peter was his baby boy. That he would always worry about him and his safety.
"Come on, Pete. I'll be there while they run some scans."

Rice, Rice, baby | Chapter 30
Author's note: A bit of a filler chapter after what happened on the previous one and what will happen on the next one 👀

“Did your mum already leave?”
“Yep” Declan says, sitting in bed next to me. “She left us dinner and said that will come back tomorrow so you aren't alone while I'm at training.”
“I can be on my own for a few hours, you know? I'll be ok. And I'm sure she has more things to do.”
“She said that you would say that, and asked me to tell you that she needs to run a few errands that you can do together so you get a bit of fresh air and movement, and that then she will make lunch for all of us, that my dad is coming over after work.”
“She has planned it all, hasn't she?” I chuckle.
“That's my mum” he smiles.
“I don't know how I am going to thank you all for everything you've been doing for me since…”
Since my dad kicked me out of our house. It has been a couple of weeks since the car accident and our argument at the hospital, and nothing has improved. It has only gotten worse, to be honest.
The day I was discharged, my mum called me to tell me that I could stop by and pick up everything I may be needing, like clothes, my toiletries or my beloved pillow, that my dad wasn't going to be at home because Alex's dad had taken him away on a “boys trip” after making a huge scene at work. He had apparently had a big argument with Madders, Micky and Olga, shouting at them and telling them that if they actually were my friends or my big brother as James liked saying, they would have never allowed me to be anywhere near Declan, and definitely not let me get pregnant with his child. He had said all that in front of basically the whole team and part of the staff, so now everyone knew the truth. But according to Olga and Madders, people weren't gossiping too much about it, and most of them actually were glad about Declan being the father. Turns out that Alex wasn't as popular as I thought among our co-workers, and they had always liked the way Declan treated them all when he had stayed there with the national team.
Once I had all my stuff, I moved to Declan's house, his mum basically treating me like a princess. The day I arrived she already had a room ready for me next to the nursery, and every day she comes over to help me finish decorate it and add cute bits or things that could be useful, to cook for us or mostly for me, to make sure I am ok and ask me to share with her all the doubts I may be having about the baby and what is coming, and basically to make me company while Declan is away. She has even started to teach me how to knit and we are making a pair of socks for the little man. She has become a second mother to me.
My mum has come over a couple of times too, one of them to meet Declan's parents, and every single day she calls me at least twice to ask me about my day and how I am. Sometimes during those calls Declan is with me and they get to a chat a bit, getting to know each other. And maybe it's the hormones, maybe it is me wanting it to be true, but I think she already loves him almost as much as I do. Almost.
“Liv, you don't have to thank any of us for all this. Like my mum has told you many times already, you now are part of our family. Both of you are” Declan says, caressing my bump.
“I can't wait to meet him” I say, resting my hand on his and focusing on that to not start crying.
“Same” he smiles. “And before I forget” he says, moving to pick the bag he had left on the bedside table. “This is for you. Well, it actually is for him, but hopefully it will cheer you up too.”
“Is it a present?”
“Something like that. Open it.”
“Ok” I say, slowly inspecting the inside of the bag. “A teddy bear?”
“It isn't just a teddy bear. It is mine.”
“What?”
“That's the teddy my brothers chose for me before I was born, it was their present. They took it to the hospital when they first met me, and since that day I apparently lived glued to it.”
“It doesn't look that worn off, tho.”
“It actually looked a bit gross, but I took him to a shop that repairs toys. I wanted it to look good for the little man but still like the teddy I loved so much as a kid. I want him to love him as much as I did.”
“Aww, Declan. That's lovely. Does he have a name?” I ask.
“Mr. Poo.”
“Like Winnie the Pooh?”
“That's what my mum told everyone, but when my brothers named him, there was no h.”
“Oh… I see” I laugh.
“Kids” he shrugs. “We can change his name if you don't like it.”
“No, no. This is Mr. Poo” I say, caressing the teddy bear. “But if someone asks, we will say the same as your mum.”
“Ok” he chuckles. “Do you like it?”
“I love it, Declan. This is the best present I've received so far. I know it is for the baby, but… It is so special.”
“I'm glad you like it” he smiles. “Has it cheered you up?”
“It has, yes. Thank you” I say before hugging him.
“You're welcome, Liv” Declan says while hugging me back. A hug that ends with both of us laying in my bed, his arm around my waist (or what's left of it) while I cuddle Mr. Poo and take one of the many naps I take through the day. One where, according to what Declan tells me when I wake up, I was sleeping with a smile on my face.
“That's the power of Mr. Poo” he says. “He always makes you dream of good things.”

Tai Lung x Mei Mei headcanons🐆🎀🐼
Tumblr media
These two would be beautifully chaotic together🥰
At first glance, you wouldn't even know the two are dating. Whenever the two told others they're dating each other, reactions were usually shocked. You can't really blame people for typically being surprised about their relationship since they appear more like friends together.
For sure Tai Lung would be 100% in denial early on. He's a big cat-of course he's a total tsundere! Mei Mei will notice this quickly & will be an absolute flirt! From flirting & playful teasing to riling him up that'll leave him in a flustered state! Mei Mei would find it cute & amusing that such a tough man who eats nails for breakfast will be so in awe with her.
Tai Lung is the type of man who will dig up flowers from someone's garden (the dirt & roots still attached) & give them to someone they have a crush on. One of the following interactions he has with Mei Mei goes along the lines of something like this:
Po: *Whispers* Dude, just tell her that you have beautiful eyes! Tai Lung: *nods* Ok, got it! *turns to Mei Mei & stares at her eyes wide open* I have beautiful eyes. Mei Mei: Oh...that's cool. *awkwardly puts both of her thumbs up* Po: *whispers, shaking his head frantically* Noooo!!!!! Tigress: *lets out a snort*
When Tai lung first witnessed Mei Mei's combination of a ribbon & nunchuck in combat, he can't help but be amazed & finding it admirable. How does a woman be so flawlessly beautiful & badass at the same time? He's so giddy when he gets to train & spar with Mei Mei for the first time. Training is one of the activities the couple loves to do together. Tai Lung will be Mei Mei's target practice in exchange for Mei Mei to be on his back whenever he does push ups. They receive each other's praise & critiques to foster each other's growth. Both are each other's motivators to train for the better.
Whenever the two go shopping together, Mei Mei will carrying a bag & chatting with a friend she bumped into while Tai Lung follows behind her carrying the rest of her shopping bags.
Restaurants & picnics are some of their favorite date spots. Mei Mei usually arranges restaurant dates since she knows the best places on the back of her paw. Once Tai Lung starts to get better at cooking, he starts making picnic dates to show Mei Mei how much he's learned from her.
A bicycle cart date they have around town is either a slow, captivating sweet time where they admire nighttime scenery or a chaotic, zany speed track thrill. Depends on their mood.
Tai Lung won't ever admit this, but he purrs when he receives affection. He especially lets out a massive purr sound whenever Mei Mei hugs him (he believes Mei Mei gives the best hugs due to her fluffy mass & perfume scent). Mei Mei found out by complete accident when she's giving Tai Lung a massage. Tai Lung's favorite petting spots are behind the ears & under the chin. Tai Lung.exe will stop working if he's tenderly stroked on the neck.
Mei Mei is more affectionate than Tai Lung. She'll be blowing him an air kiss whenever she walks by, picks him up while hugging him, & holding hands with him. It took a while for Tai Lung to be open about receiving PDA.
Although Tai Lung isn't as affectionate as Mei Mei is, he'll give Mei Mei affectionate mostly whenever others aren't around. He loves giving Mei Mei a gentle lick on one of her cheeks & hugging her to feel her soft fur.
Early on, Mei Mei does most of the cooking since Tai Lung is banned from most kitchens around the world. Overtime, Tai Lung gets to cook more in their relationship due to Mei Mei teaching him. Mei Mei is pretty impressed with how much of a diligent learner Tai Lung is.
Mei Mei is the only one who genuinely understands Tai Lung & accept him for who he is. She eventually became well-aware of Tai Lung's rampage & 20 year imprisonment. Tai Lung feels the most safe with Mei Mei due to her not judging him even though she's seen the worst of him that's almost close to his past. Perhaps, when the two are so close enough, Mei Mei will push Tai Lung to try making making up with Shifu.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Alinta was soon back at the cabin with a fresh pack of meds. It wasn't bacta, like Hunter was used to; but a combination of different plants, flowers and seeds that the clone watched as they were mixed together into a viscous blue concoction. Helping Alinta's father to his bed, he watched in silence as the woman carefully spread the mix on top of each wound; waiting until the blend had dried before adding another layer. Once three or four layers had been put into place, Alinta covered them with purple leaves that sticked to the mesh with no problem at all. As an explanation, the woman whispered that the blue mix helped wounds to scar faster and the purple leaves protected the wound and prevented infections. Hunter had seen stranger things in the galaxy.
"Thank you, little bird. I think I'm going to sleep now" the weared down man mumbled, fatigue and exhaustion already making him close his eyes.
Hunter followed Alinta outside in order to give the tired elder quiet and space to pass the pain out. The clone couldn't help but let out a deep sigh, his strength slowly vanishing too as the adrenaline extinguished in his veins. Chitari were difficult creatures to kill.
"Let me help you with your wounds too" Alinta offered, turning towards him.
Hunter studied her for a few seconds before nodding. He didn't really need the asistance; his wounds were not deep enough to worry, and he could tend to them on his own. If not, his brothers could. But Alinta seemed eager to do something that distracted her. Perhaps this was her way of saying thank you; and honestly, Hunter might enjoy someone else taking care of him after such a fight.
Pauldron after pauldron and plate after plate, the clone carefully placed his upper armour on the ground and took off the top of his body glove; slowly as to not pull too much on the wounds he could feel stuck to the shirt. With Alinta's eyes slowly and worriedly scanning his naked torso, the moment felt more intimate and delicate than Hunter would have thought it to be; and he had to fight down the shiver that threatened to rush up his spine when the woman's warm hands pressed to his skin.
"This look bad" she mumbled, focused, and spread the first layer of the blue mix onto the chosen wound.
Hunter felt a cooling, soothing sensation as soon as the blend touched his skin. Soon enough, under Alinta's precise care, his muscles relaxed and his mind swam in comfort and peace. His shoulders dropped and the woman hummed thoughtfully; never stopping her tasks and tending to every scratch. Her fingers were carefull but firm.
Hunter had no other option than to breathe through the relief and watch her in silence. His eyes and thoughts must have been heavy enough; because Alinta's own gaze flickered upwards momentarily before focusing on his skin again.
"Why you look me like that?" she asked, voice low and expectant in the quiet of the night.
Hunter's eyes never parted from her face.
"Your dad told me about the accident" he answered.
Alinta's fingers froze at the skin of the side of his stomach; only resuming their task with a deep, resigned sigh.
"Long time before" she whispered, adding another blue layer to his wound.
It was the last one that needed dressing; a silly part of the clone wished he still had a few more, just so she could keep touching him and they stayed in this unusual delicate intimacy some more.
"You still blame yourself".
His voice was deep and firm; not acussing, but just stating out his well pointed observation.
Alinta's jaw clenched momentarily. Her red eyes focused on his; task momentarily forgotten.
"It was my fault. You... Not know how bad it was. To look my dad in fire, he scream, and know you put the fire".
Hunter hummed. Alinta's expression was opened and vulnerable; it somehow felt as if she was begging Hunter for his absolution. Hunter had nothing to forgive.
"You couldn't have done anything different" he soothed, his voice soft, own fingers itching to touch her face. "You didn't know how it worked back then. How to control it. And you were brave. I'm sure it must have been a terrifying scene for such a young girl. And yet you found help and saved him. You've saved a lot of lifes today, as well. Stop punishing yourself".
Hunter's sincere, caring words warmed Alinta's heart and insides. She sighed contently, not knowing how much she needed him to soothe her til he had voluntarily offered that comfort.
A small, tired smile perched on her face.
"Mm. I try" she answered, and went back to work.
Third layer of blue spread on his wound, Alinta carefully pressed the purple leave into place; holding it for some seconds to make sure it was properly stuck to the blend before moving her hands to the sides.
Her task now finished, with no more wounds to dress, Alinta allowed herself to get momentarily distracted and studied Hunter's shoulders, abdomen and chest. The black mark on his face continued the same pattern and design down half of his body; dark ink imitating the bones underneath. In Alinta's world, black marks represented one's achievements; a sign of respect and honour. Courage. Alinta knew it didn't mean the same in his culture, as he had already explained; yet she couldn't help but carefully trace the black siluete of a collarbone with the tip of her fingers and think on how good they looked on him.
Hunter didn't move an inch; but his breathing pattern slowly turned heavier, and Alinta had no other option than to look up at him and finally aknowledge the energy that had been simmering between them for weeks.
Their eyes locked, both staring at each other holding their breath; vulnerable, expectant. The quietness of the night allowed them to hear the other's heart furiously beating inside their chests.
Hunter's gaze flickered towards her lips. He wanted her.
Alinta tilted her chin up. She wanted him.
Hunter cupped her face in his hands and gave her a sweet, slow, soft kiss. Alinta hummed in delight and relaxed, hands clasping his shoulders and kissing him back.
She pressed her body to his, needing to feel him closer; and Hunter made a content sound with his throat, hands slowly travelling down her body, lightly caressing her, before holding her hips; tugging her against him.
Alinta melted down in his arms between kiss and kiss.
When they had to stop to breathe, Hunter instinctively pressed his forehead into hers in a delicately intimate Keldabe. She caressed his shoulders, breathing him in.
Alinta didn't fight her impulses this time, and pulled Hunter down into a tight embrace. The hug surprised him; but he quickly melted down and closed his eyes, enjoying the gesture. Her skin felt so warm pressed to his body that it almost burnt pleasantly against his.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Two weeks of kisses and caresses later, Tech had finally finished the Marauders last repairs. Hunter and Alinta were taking a walk through Aodh's colourful forest; both particularly silent that evening, lost in their thoughts. The air felt heavy around them. They knew what the repairs meant. For once, Hunter wished his brother to be less of a plan-saver. The thought of living Aodh and Alinta behind tugged sharply at his heart.
Alinta's mind was being pulled apart by her own caos. Thoughts jumped on top of each other, trying to find a solution to their inminent separation; trying to not break up in tears and sob like a child. She wasn't a kid anymore. She was always fierce, always in charge. She clenched her jaw and dejectedly sat down in front of the lake they had unconsciously walked to –it was rutine–. The clone silently sat by her side.
She didn't need him. Didn't need a man in her life. She was strong on her own, self sufficient. She didn't need Hunter... But she wanted him. She wanted to keep exploring every inch of his mind and heart; keep kissing him and melt on the safe embrace of his arms. Shiver with each caress of his fingers on her naked skin and his taste on her tongue.
A tight knot squeezed her throat, and Alinta sighed. She fully turned towards him, hands reaching to his and craddling them with care, thumb soothing his skin.
Hunter felt the importancy of the moment and payed full attention to her.
"I like you a lot, Hunter" she confessed, voice vulnerable and sadenned but firm in her decission. "But I can not leave my life here. I can not follow you to the stars. I stay here, with my tribe, my dad".
Hunter's heart clenched. He nodded in understanding. He hadn't expected any different. He couldn't wish she left everything behind for him, a man she hadn't even known for that long, no matter how addicted and strongly they felt towards each other now. Life wasn't a fairytale; he was well aware.
"I understand" he told her, gently squeezing her hands in his. "Our life is a complete caos, if we're being honest. But I could... I could come visit you whenever I can. If you'd like that, mesh'la".
Alinta's red eyes shined with unleashed tears. She let out a deep, relief, exhausted sigh and dropped her weight onto his; forehead pressing against the spot between his neck and shoulder, and arms quickly wrapping around his back.
Hunter hummed and carefully tugged her towards him, directing her to place herself in his lap. Alinta melted on his embrace; and Hunter felt a warming peace inside of him, hugging her back.
"Yes" she whispered her agreement against his skin. "Yes, Hunter, please".
He directed her face towards his and kissed her slowly and gently; as if memorising every second of it. The knowledge that they'll see each other again soothed both of their hearts.
Hunter lost himself in Alinta's kiss. Kissing her felt like the end and the beginning. Smoke and warmth, bitter and adictive at the same time; a yuxtaposition of feelings Hunter never wanted to lose.
"You smell like ash and fire" he murmured, nose softly grazing the skin of her neck in an affectionate nuzzle, lips turning upwards into a smile.
Alinta chuckled; the tension from their emotional conversation extinguishing.
She gave him a quick kiss; radiant smile tempting Hunter to steal another one from her.
"Okay, okay. I get it" she joked, grinning up at him. "You get naked and we can jump in the lake together".
Hunter's body shook with laughter. He smirked, hands slowly travelling upwards on Alinta's sides before temptingly caressing her naked breasts.
Alinta gasped, tilting her head backwards and inmediately exposing her neck to him. She hadn't experience that kind of pleasure before meeting Hunter –for her tribe breasts were just breasts, part of a female's chest and not viewed as an erogenous zone–; but she had quickly been introduced to such pleasure by the human's expert fingers and tongue.
Hunter's chuckles and deep voice ignited her fire spirit inside of her.
"Sounds good to me" he whispered.
Alinta smiled. She helped him get rid of his armour and clothes and held his hand until they were both kissing in the water.
It was her time to live.
THE END.

Age Swap bits with Panther Hybrid Mob but to the tune of Lilo & Stitch
———
Arataka is still sulking as they walk into the shelter. Anehito-nee ushers him forward with one hand on the small of his back, guiding him gently. He hates how fragile she treats him sometimes, but in this moment he's half glad for it. She's older than him by eight years, a purposeful child to Arataka's 'happy accident'. To Arataka, his parents don't seem all that happy to have him around.
Case in point; Anehito is taking him to the shelter today, because during the hurricane yesterday his parents had shoved him in the car kicking and screaming, leaving his beloved Wuu-chan tied up outside as they evacuated with the rest of the city. This morning, when they'd returned to an intact house, the only things that had been missing were the gutters and Arataka's dog.
When Arataka had started to cry, his parents had shoved him at his sister and told her to "take him somewhere to calm down" while they unpacked everything they'd stuffed in the car the day before.
Ice cream hadn't soothed Arataka. Neither had going to different dog parks and looking for Wuu-chan, because most of those dog parks had been wrecked. Six hours and a slow-setting sun later, Anehito is just as strung tight as Arataka and ready to take drastic measures.
So, the Seasoning City Humane Society it is.
But while he appreciate his nee-san's stubbornness—it had taken months to wear his parents down enough to get Wuu-chan in the first place and they certainly wouldn't like another animal in the house while they were trying to fix it, but Anehito has the incredible power of being a full grown adult who now only listens to their parents half the time—he just wants Wuu-chan back. He'd been old, his hips bad enough that he waddled instead of walked, but Arataka had loved him a lot. He was his only friend.
Plus, Arataka is pretty sure this place doesn't have any full dogs anymore. Over the years, the once rare breeds of "sapien-hybrids" had grown in number until they became as common as alley cats. Things with dog ears and human faces and digitigrade legs laying by fireplaces in big dog beds and being yanked around on leashes, all while being, notably, not a dog. Seasoning City is particularly overrun with them, and strays have become a big problem in recent years, so Arataka has no doubt that there's probably more hybrids in here than actual animals.
When he says as much to Anehito, the lady behind the counter smiles and reassures him, "Oh don't worry dear, they might look human, but they really aren't. Their brains aren't even well-developed enough to speak human language. The only real difference is that whatever pup you pick out will have a different diet."
"So you admit that you don't have any dogs in here," Arataka bites out, hugging himself. He wants Wuu-chan back, not some overgrown Frankenstein thing probably made in a lab or bred in a mill somewhere.
"Of course we have dogs! This past week we've brought in a pomeranian, a shepard mix, a—"
"Do they have human faces?" Arataka interrupts. When the woman merely blinks at him, taken aback, Arataka scoffs. "That's what I thought..."
"'Taka, don't be difficult," Anehito says, chiding. "Do you want to go back home empty-handed?"
And...
...Well no, obviously Arataka doesn't. He doesn't want to go home to a lonely house that will now be even lonelier than before. Anehito will be going back to her apartment soon, and Arataka will be left with nothing and no one to soothe his grief.
A new furry friend won't be Wuu-chan. But it also won't be nothing either.
Squeezing his arms tighter together, Arataka huffs. His expression must give him away, because Anehito nods. The woman behind the counter gestures toward the door to her left, and Anehito gives him a gentle shove towards it.
"Go on," she urges. "Pick someone out."
Grumbling, Arataka opens the door and steps inside, letting it close behind him. There's a short hallway, and then another door that leads to the actual kennel. Arataka slips through that one, and blinks.
There's a blocky maze of cages all around, with human features in every one. Arataka is disheartened to find that they're really aren't any real dogs back here, but he's quickly distracted from his disappointment by the way the hybrids are acting. A pair of tabby hybrids flatten themselves into the far corner of their cage, fur puffed up. Some sort of dog hybrid has somehow managed to scale the kennel fence and now clings to the top of it, trembling so hard the metal rattles. They all look positively terrified.
They're not looking at Arataka, but they're all pressed as far away from the outer hall as possible, as if something may attack them through the fence at any moment. Brow furrowed, Arataka looks around and tilts his head as he sees an open cage door to the right, at the far end of the hallway. He cocks an eyebrow, humming.
"So one of you is an escape artist, huh?"
He ventures a little closer despite himself, curious, and sees that the cage door has been bent and warped, the lock curled like a vacant banana peel and the chainlinks themselves twisted into the shape of a perfect circle; a big one. Whatever got out had to have been pretty large, but the door doesn't look ripped or eaten—just changed.
Weird.
The snake hybrid in the cage next to the bent one seems to have fainted. It looks a little gray in the face.
Arataka crouches down and sticks his fingers through the chain to poke it, concerned. It gives a weak, trembling hiss, but doesn't stir further. A little disturbed, Arataka backs up and starts looking around again.
He reaches the end of the hallway and turns, only to stop dead at the sight in front of him.
Something big stands in the middle of the next hall, a swath of shadow covering it even beneath the fluorescent lights. A sleek black tail lashes behind it, and when it turns to face Arataka, he can see that its eyes gleam like its tapetum is lit from within. It looks like a gorgon, with tendrils of black thrashing and swirling above its eyes as it lowers itself onto all fours. Arataka barely has time to breathe before it lunges at him, two long leaps before it crashes into his chest with all the force of a speeding train.
Arataka goes down with a cry of surprise, alarmed, but the strange hybrid doesn't take a bite out of him. Instead, it shoves its human nose against his neck and begins to snuffle, investigating Arataka's neck, his shoulder, his ear. He squeals a little when hot breath gusts past the cartilage, ticklish, and begins to giggle.
The hybrid pauses, pulling back to look down at him with a cocked head. From the well of lashing shadows, a rounded ear flicks curiously.
Grinning, Arataka reaches up and pets his hands through its hair—and it is hair, he finds, no matter how lively—scritching it behind a velvet ear. "Aw, you're friendly! My Wuu-chan liked to give hugs too," Arataka croons, already feeling a swell of affection rising up in his chest. He's always liked bigger dogs, though Wuu-chan was on the smaller side, being a corgi. Arataka is no stranger to being bowled over by the occasional overexcited gentle giant. The hybrid's gleaming eyes droop as Arataka brings up his other hand to pet both ears at once. "Poor guy, I bet that cage was too small for you, huh? You're bigger than the other ones."
A strange, grating noise rumbles its way out of the hybrid's chest, and Arataka blinks. It's a distinctly feline sound, but he's never seen a cat hybrid this big.
Shaking his head, Arataka walks curious fingers over its (his...?) head, and marvels at the sight of the shadows receding a bit at his touch. Enough for him to make out a slightly parted mouth, with a nice set of chompers glimpsed behind slack lips. This hybrid's skin is pale, his hands blackened into claws at the fingertips, and the thinnest line of fur fading out down his spine.
It's so cool.
Arataka's eyes are sparkling. His expression turns contemplative, then intent. Dropping his hands, he commands, "Get off now."
After a moment, the hybrid obeys, looking a little put-out that the pets have stopped. Pushing himself to his feet, Arataka dusts himself off and points, saying, "Sit!"
The hybrid sits, head cocked, like he's confused why he's being asked to do it. Face brightening, Arataka drops his stern expression and reaches forward to pet the hybrid again, rubbing his ears and scratching down the fur at the back of his neck. Another purr starts up, and even more of the shadows recede, enough for Arataka to make out the vague shape of a nose.
"Good boy!" he crows, elated. He squishes the hybrid's cheeks and declares, "Yep, you're the one. I'm not usually a cat person, but I can make an exception just this once. A troublemaker, but a good one! Just like me!" White eyes stare incomprehensibly back, but Arataka goes on. "How'd you like to come home with me?"
Given how quiet the kennel had been, and how silent the hybrid was, Arataka isn't expecting to get an actual answer. But he does.
"H...Home..." the hybrid gutters out, blinking. Arataka's jaw drops, and that sleek, black tail starts curling in a distinctly pleased way. "Home."
His voice is rough, unused, but very much a voice nonetheless. Arataka remembers that woman's words—they don't even have the ability to speak human languages—and wonders why he believed a word she said. This was very much a hybrid that just spoke to him, broken Japanese aside.
A big, talking, magic kitty that likes to give hugs.
Arataka squeezes the hybrid's head to his chest, petting faster, mussing up still-wiggly hair. The human features don't even bother him anymore; they're a feature, not a flaw.
Finally, he'll have a friend he can actually talk to.
"Yeah, you're coming home with me."
"Home," the hybrid croons, echoing. "Home with me."
Arataka grins. As he pulls back, his fingers catch on the standard black collar and he pauses. Tapping his foot, rubbing his chin, Arataka considers something. "Right, right, but first you need a name." Then, blinking, he thinks to ask, "Do you already have a name?"
The humanoid parts of the hybrid's body look adult; even bigger and broader than most grown men. It would make sense if he already had a name.
But he just cocks his head to the opposite side this time, staring again. Swaying hair, shadowed, pupiless eyes...
Maybe he didn't have a name. Maybe this was a pointless exercise.
Arataka sighs, then straightens his back, brandishing a finger forward and ending with a boop on the hybrid's nose. "Then, if you don't already have a name, you can be...Mob!"
Ears perk, and his tail flicks. "Mo-ob? Mob?"
"Yes, that's your new name," Arataka says with a firm nod. "I'll get you a new collar with your name on it once we get out of here!"
Arataka turns, fingers hooked in the black collar, and makes his way back to the first door. As they pass, the other hybrids whine and whimper in fear, clawing to get further away from them. A hamster hybrid passes out. Arataka rolls his eyes. What a bunch of babies.
He emerges out from the kennel, Mob in tow, in time to hear the woman behind the counter finishing up the paperwork with Anehito.
"—your number and address there. So, as of now, all of the animals we have are available for adoption—" she cuts herself as Arataka comes into view, eyes going wide as she cries out in alarm. "Except that one!" she shrills, swooping in to separate Arataka and Mob. Anehito-nee is there too, scooping Arataka up like he's ten again and hauling him back.
"What is that thing!?" Anehito screeches just as the other woman loops a leash around Mob's neck and holds him back. The shadows fill in again, just a little, and both girls shriek at the sight.
"I don't know, it was dead this morning!" the woman shouts.
"It was dead this morning!?"
She struggles to pull Mob back while also remaining as far from him as possible, eyes wide and spooked. "We thought it was dead! It was hit by a truck!"
Arataka frowns, wriggling to be put down. He's not a baby and all the screaming is making his ears hurt. "Well I like him! You're being mean to him!" Turning from his sister in a huff, Arataka holds out his arms in Mob's direction, calling for him even as Anehito hastily hauls him back further, feet off the floor. "Come here boy!"
Hair thrashing, Mob prowls forward, back muscles flexing a little as he heaves himself and the poor lady holding him towards Arataka, leash be damned. Arataka grins, giddy, and laughs as Anehito falls back onto one of the plastic chairs with a screech as Mob reaches up for Arataka and settles in his lap easily. Arataka gives him ear scritches for his effort.
"See?" he tells a distressed Anehito. "He's a good boy!"
"That is not a dog, Arataka," she grinds out after a moment, pupils pinpricked with panic even as her heartbeat begins to slow again.
"They don't have any dogs in here," Arataka fires back, clutching Mob's shadowy head close. The hybrid blinks placidly at him, eyes still glowing white, though it's less noticable out in the sun. "And I like this one! You told me to go pick someone out, and I pick Mob!"
"Mob?" the shelter lady ventures, brow furrowed.
Arataka pats Mob's head, silky black hair playing between his fingers. "That's his name now."
"Oh God," Anehito groans. "You already named it."
"Yep," Arataka chirps. His mood has improved tremendously since this morning, and he can see his nee-san's protests weakening the longer she watches him smile. He squishes Mob's cheek against his own, grin impish. A black velvet ear flicks against his wheat-gold hair. "So obviously we have to take him home now."
All of a sudden, like a candle flame being blown out, the blackness covering Mob's face fades rapidly. It recedes to make way for pale skin, a mild fanged mouth, and a pair of dark, dark irises. His hair goes slack, and as it falls back down into place Arataka can see that someone's given him a bit of a childish bowl cut. Mob yawns, sharp teeth flashing, and blinks mildly up at the Reigen siblings. A rough tongue slips out and slicks up Arataka's temple, making him cringe and laugh. He pushes Mob's face away, complaining, "Gross! Cat tongue!"
That seems to be the final nail that Anehito needs, because she studies Arataka and Mob carefully for one more moment, before sighing shakily and pushing to her feet. She squeezes out from beneath Arataka, leaving him to be squished by the full weight of Mob's upper half. Again.
A crisp five thousand yen note is stuffed in the other woman's hand. Anehito-nee sounds grave when she utters, "We'll take this one."
The woman looks at her like she's got a second head. But after a deadpan stare from his sister and vicious glare from Arataka himself, she slowly rounds the counter again and files everything away. A stamp, a signature, a receipt.
Arataka walks out of the Seasoning City Humane Society hand in hand with Mob, having refused the offered leash. He'd risen up on two legs when Arataka had offered his hand, and Arataka is delighted to know that his theory is correct. Mob is intelligent.
A clawed hand, the one not held by Arataka's small, soft one, reaches up and plays with the new brass tag on his collar. It has his new name, Arataka's phone number, and the Reigen address. He plays with it, turning it this way and that, trying to get his head down to see it better, batting at it so it jingles.
"Do you like it?" Arataka asks.
Mob looks down at him. Blinks again, slow and sure. "Yes."
His long tail curls around Arataka's wrist, and in the dying light of day, he can just barely make out wobbly spots in his midnight fur. Arataka's eyes widen. Mob is a jungle cat.
"Ahh so cool," Arataka whispers, swinging their hands happily. Anehito looks at him weirdly, but doesn't comment further. She must be preparing herself for the inevitable confrontation with their parents when they get back. She's much more relaxed around Mob now that he's not all dark and flickering like an old TV set.
"Remember, 'Taka, you have to be responsible with him. You know Mom and Dad aren't going to help you take care of him."
"Maah, nee-san, Mob can take care of himself," Arataka dismisses, waving his free hand. Mob can talk, after all, and he's an adult. Arataka briefly wonders if he really just bought a friend, the implications of such a thing ready to drown him—before he banishes the thought. It's not a nice one, and he's in a good mood right now; he wants that to last. "But I'll look after him! He's bigger than...than Wuu-chan, so he'll need a different bed." He looks up at Mob, who's already looking back at him. "You can sleep in my bed for now. What kind of food do you like to eat? I like ramen, it's the best."
Mob opens his mouth to respond—
But Anehito beats him to it. "Hybrids can't talk, Arataka."
"Well he can!" Arataka insists, scowling. Anehito just sighs and looks forward again. Mob seems to consider this for a moment, and then closes his mouth. Arataka huffs. "I'll just ask you when we get home."
Mob's tail uncoils from Arataka's wrist to brush it pleasantly back and forth, pushing up fluff against the delicate bones of his wrist. He gives Arataka the tiniest smile.
Home.

🌸 Jisuk as a soulmate is hard to imagine. His way of handling things and his blunt way of speaking might make it difficult to get close to him.
🌸 When this white haired boy found out about the soulmate stuff, he was sorely confused. Subin told him that for every single human, there's a soulmate. At first he laughed it off and called Subin a crazy horoscope girl but little did he know there was some truth to it. Eventually he'd end up reading about it on the internet late at night. Believe me when I tell you that this man researched at least two nights about finding your soulmate.
🌸 Still, he doesn't believe you are automatically attracted and attached to the human you belong to. I mean... Why should anyone have a big meaning in his life when he doesn't know them? He lives on like nothing ever really happened. The chance of meeting his soulmate is so low as well, there's no hope in fighting for it.
🌸 Jisuk gets to know you; you met by accident. Neither of you know that the other one is an awakened one, and neither of you know you are soulmates. How are you supposed to even know? The little meeting ended in a friendship between you, him and everyone else who sticks around him.
🌸 After some months of meeting up, spending time together and getting to know each other, he feels attracted to you. It developed at a normal pace and he assumed it was just a little crush. Jisuk himself usually avoids talking about love (due to the fact he was never attracted to someone). But because of you he begins to question a lot of things. He insisted asking Subin about it.
🌸 Subin, who's a total bitch about keeping love secrets, immediately jumped to you and asked you if you already found the one and only. You denied of course, and she screamed. A small action of hers resulted in a never ending love.
🌸 When you both found out, Jisuk was hesitant. Simply being in love may be easier to deal with, than actually having a soulmate.

🌸 I think Subin could be one of the horoscope girls. Not someone as annoying but she'll inform herself about zodiacs and soulmates when she's alone. With that being said, she does believe she has a soulmate but won't share it with anyone.
🌸 Having a soulmate is a difficult imagination to her: is it truly romantic love? Or just a commitment between two random people? Maybe it's something platonic? What if they argue a lot? Are you forced to be together the rest of your life?
🌸 Of course she's very curious but also anxious. Normally she doesn't give a damn about opinions others have towards her. But a soulmate is supposed to be someone very special. Subin agrees with herself that keeping her cocky attitude and putting more effort in looking fabulous will do the job.
🌸 On some occasions she pays a lot of attention how others behave towards her. Jisuk couldn't be it, Jiwoo has Jiyoung, Wooin... Well, he has a bond with food. So most of her friends aren't in the league, but who else is?
🌸 You met her by a coincidence. She was buying flowers for her grandfather, as she does occasionally to pay her respect. It's something she wouldn't do in front of her friends. She enjoys the space when visiting the flower shop and choosing some roses and daisies. She bumped into you because she was daydreaming and immediately you liked her cool yet warm expression. "Oh- uh sorry. I didn't mean to bother you." She apologized and picked another flower. You still looked at her, nearly stared.
🌸 She was confused. Out of confusion, she waved her hand in front of your face and you reacted. She smiled beautifully and offered to pay your flowers as a former apology. You insisted. While looking through flowers you got into a conversation and weirdly enough it ended on the term soulmate.
🌸 You asked her if she already had one. She shook her head. "Dunno, I think it's not that easy meeting them. And I'm also anxious about it since how would you know what a stranger thinks of you?" She looked at you when you answered you feel the same. She grinned and paid your bouquet. When you thought you'd never meet again, she gave you her number.
🌸 "Well... I'd like to keep contact since you're a really nice company. I wasn't able to talk about this with any of my friends. So hit me up when you find time." Winking at you, she took the other path and you only see her checking out the flowers for her grandfather and doing a little happy jump.

Quick notice: I'm never sure how to deal with soulmate AU's. I hope I did it the right way. <3

My Childhood Crush is a Selkie
See all available chapters here.
Chapter Eleven: Time Capsule
We had one day. I loathed myself for two opposite reasons. I loathed myself for not allowing myself to have more days before this, and I loathed myself for allowing myself to have any.
But it didn't matter why I loathed myself. And it didn't matter whether or not I did, because there I was with no way to change the past and no way I would give up this day.
We woke early, and once again, I felt like we could read each other's minds.
Today we would do all of our favorite things together. We would live like it was our last day to live, because in some ways, it was.
So naturally, we started by making chocolate chip pancakes.
"The only thing that gives you a bearable mood in the morning," he said with chocolate on his nose. "I'm usually lovely in the morning," I said, stealing one of his more chocolatey pancakes. "Maybe you're the one who puts me in a bad mood."
I called Sophie. I didn't explain everything to her of course, but she knew he was leaving, and she understood. She told me it was an unusually slow day anyway, and when she said it, I knew she was thinking about her future there, and I worried that she would leave me soon too.
But I clamped down the thoughts, because there was only so much I could deal with at once.
Del and I packed my car to the brim with everything we would need that day.
I remembered back eleven years ago, when we had done the same thing, except it had been two bicycles piled high with everything that would fit. "Try not to crash into a ditch this time," he said now with a rueful expression. "I'll have you know I've never been the cause of a car accident," I responded, climbing into the car. "Have you?" I asked. "I'm pleading the fifth," he responded.
We stopped at a shop downtown. I needed a new swimsuit, and he decided, for some reason, that he needed one too. "I need to look good when meeting the rest of my family for the first time. Khaki shorts aren't really their speed, unfortunately," he said, rifling through a rack.
"I wouldn't expect seals to be particular about fashion choices, although they do seem much meaner than I'd expect," I said. "Aren't they supposed to be the puppies of the sea?" He grinned.
"Sure, the kind that'll bite your hand off," he said, pretending to snap his teeth at me. I laughed and ran off to try out the bikini I picked out.
After, we drove to the trailhead at the bottom of a little mountain. We walked up most of the trail and paused to eat crackers and drink some water. The forest around us teemed with cicadas and birdsong.
"But you aren't just in some entirely fixed system that can't change at all. I know it might seem that way, but it will automatically be a little better because you're there," he said with a shrug, like it was the most simple thing in the world.
"People talk about the world like it's some fixed phenomena that we can't alter, but we are the world, Diana. You especially."
I was shocked to find his idealism intact, even after all of this. I had told him about my failed law school dreams with an expectation of the same generic responses.
"What do you really want?" He asked. "If you could do anything." I laughed, feeling a little self-conscious. "I don't know, to help enforce existing environmental protections. To make better ones. To help people impacted by climate change in court."
He smiled a smile that was far too genuine, so I cracked another joke: "Maybe it's all a lie though. Maybe I've just been influenced by you all my life. You're a spy for the other side." He laughed. "The other side, meaning what, nature?" He asked. I nodded. "You just want to turn me into a granola-freak environmentalist who wears biodegradable sneakers and won't slap at mosquitos," I said.
He grinned. "If so, then it wouldn't take a lot of influence, darling."
We stopped at an ice cream place next, and he looked very smug when I ordered the dairy-free option, as if it proved his previous point. "I'm sensitive to lactose," I muttered.
We sat by a little pond once we got our desserts, and I craned my head back, watching the sun dance through the trees like a thousand little golden spotlights.
We drove with the windows down, blasting something ebullient. His voice, as it always had been, was rather off-key. "Good thing you're a selkie and not a siren," I said. He only leaned to the side and sang directly in my ear.
We finally arrived at the beach. The late afternoon sun had caused the air above the water to become a haze of evaporated water111. It cast the scene into a dreamlike state, and I knew that I would always remember it that way. I never had very pleasant dreams, so it would be nice to hold onto this one.
We found a corner of the beach that was uninhabited and out of view of the other beachgoers, and we set up our towels and the spread of food and sunscreen and beach balls, but we had truly come here for one reason.
It was our favorite beach, one we had come to as children. It was the only reason I had ever gone to Greyport before living here, and I had been avoiding it.
It jutted out from the land like an eager hand, the sand so bright it almost hurt to look at. Before us was a wide expanse of ocean, nothing but a few scattered islands standing between us and the coast of Europe.
He gave me one quick look of challenge and then took off like a rocket toward the surf. I ran after him, laughing wildly as we splashed into the water, which was still freezing despite it being the warmest it would be all year.
He dove gracefully in, and I followed after.
We stayed in the water until our limbs shook and our fingers turned to prunes, allowing the waves to smash us down and pull us back up again. We took breaks on the land to replenish ourselves and warm under the sun, and as soon as we started to get hot we would dive back in.
Sometimes, as the sun grew lower and the sea grew a little more quiet, Del would stare off to the horizon, but he wasn't looking at the sky.
The way he looked at the sea might have spawned some jealousy inside of me, but it didn't, because I looked at it the same way.
I realized he was possibly the only man I'd ever met who gazed at it with the same reverence that others do when standing in church, trying to look for some kind of god.
He wasn't afraid to worship something without eyes or hands or a deep, masculine voice. The sea could rumble and shout, but it could also whisper and sigh in higher tones, and those sounds seemed to draw even more interest out of Del—the moments in between the crashes of the waves.
Eyes unchanging, he turned to me. "Do you want to go to the cave?"
I nodded. We slowly emerged from the water, fighting for a moment against some undercurrent, and once we touched the sand, he took my hand with a sense of ceremony, and we walked around to the edge of the beach, where the rocks broke unevenly and then came together, resembling a very small cave that water would start to fill as the tide grew higher.
Right now, there was plenty of distance between the rocks and the water, however, and we comfortably walked under the arch that the formation made. I ran my hands along it, savoring how solid it felt in these shifting sands and water. Everything suddenly felt incredibly unstable outside of this little cave, even the small stretch of ocean that had once been so comforting to me.
"Diana," he whispered, and I couldn't really look at him. Our hands were still joined and clammy.
"I don't think this is a good idea," I said gently, releasing his hand. I couldn't really look him in the eye.
"Whatever you want," he said, voice soft.
I finally looked at him. His lips were caught in his devil-may-care smile, but his eyes were serious.
"Well, I want to kiss you, but I don't think we should," I responded, crossing my arms.
He gave a short nod, his cheeks reddened just a shade. "Whatever you think, then." His expression was gentle and accepting.
"I think it will be easier," I said, but I could feel the tears stinging at my eyes. I fought them with everything I could and sat down in the sand, wishing that the tide would come in faster and stay high forever so we could never leave.
"Well, you've always been far wiser than me," he said with a wistful smile, and he sat down next to me, resting his head on my shoulder. He absently touched the sea glass pendant against his collarbone.
"I didn't get you a birthday present," I said, just realizing this.
He just shook his head with a sad smile, as if to say that this was enough.
We stayed like that for a very long time, and the sun disappeared, and the tide did inevitably come in. But it wouldn't trap us.
It simply began to flood the little cave, threatening only to rise high enough to make us wade back. Our belongings had been placed far enough from the beach to avoid the reaching waves, but it was possible they had been stolen by people or seagulls.
The only important item was the car keys, but it was difficult to even care about them at the moment.
When he finally rose to his feet, I knew exactly what he was going to say, and I didn't know if I could bear it. He was smiling sadly again when he finally met my eyes. "I think I need to go now."
I knew he didn't mean that he needed to go back to Quinn's.
The night was still hot, but after spending so long in the freezing water, I had started to shiver. Part of my leg was a bit numb from sitting on it for too long, and nothing seemed particularly real.
The day had been like one of those time capsules, made of beautiful things that were always meant to be buried.
"Okay," I said, nodding.
He didn't look at me now, his eyes on the surf. "If I stay here with you any longer... all my resolve will break. It's already hanging on by a thread."
"We could run," I whispered, but he shook his head.
"They'd come to find us eventually, either my family or the hunters. I would never want to put you in danger," he said. "Besides, you have a future to think of."
"What future?" I whispered, losing a little bit of the calm I had been clinging on to. "I've been nothing but a disappointment. I couldn't get into the college I wanted. I couldn't make myself go to law school. I have one friend and a job I don't want to—I'm sorry. You don't want to hear all of this right now."
I pressed my palm to my forehead, but I felt him there, his hands on my shoulders. "You are not a disappointment. You're still so young, Di. You don't need to go to law school to prove yourself. Just wait, you'll get some incredible job at an environmental non-profit, or you'll start one of your own, and you'll make all kinds of friends, and everything will be okay. You'll have Sophie too, but most importantly, you have yourself, and you need to trust yourself."
"But what about you?" I whispered. "You had dreams and plans too." I didn't want to make it more difficult for him, but I wanted him to understand the gravity of this situation. He could be so impulsive sometimes, and I hated the thought of him being miserable. "We should fight this."
He cupped my face in his hands. “I'm just grateful I got to spend a little more time with you. I consider myself lucky, actually. I know lots of people settle down and get married, but I don't think very many of them actually feel this way. I've felt this way since I met you, and I always will. I get to carry that with me."
I didn't cry. I was too elated and heartbroken for that. He was trying so hard to be strong, but his eyes were starting to become glassy.
"So don't you worry about me," he said, his voice so steady at first, but two tears streamed down his cheeks. "I'll have the sea, and you'll probably meet someone far smarter and steadier than I could ever be." His voice wobbled at the end, and I just shook my head, because I didn't think I could speak.
Wordlessly, he took my hand and led me out of the cave. The water came up to my knees as we navigated around the rocks, and I tried to savor the feeling of being in the water with him just one last time. Moonlight coated the sand around us, and we stayed in the surf.
I thought I heard someone behind us, but when I turned, I saw nothing. I said nothing, because I didn't want him to worry. He had been hanging around the surf for days now without fear of the hunters. They wouldn't find us now. It had likely just been another beachgoer.
He was looking out to the water, the tears still stark on his face, and in the distance, a few dark shapes arose in the water. The air above us seemed to blur and bubble and turn into something almost iridescent.
For a moment, I wondered if they would rise from the water, and I could meet them, but they were waiting for him. I couldn't look him in the eye. "I can't," I said. "I can't watch you go. I'm sorry."
"I understand," he said, his face pained.
"I love you" I said, because I wanted him to know, and I wanted to catch hold of one last smile. He obliged, his grin blinding and his eyes shimmering with more tears. "You know, in case that wasn't abundantly clear."
His smile deepened at the same time the new set of tears began to fall on his cheeks.
"I love you too," he whispered. "So, so much." Then I turned and left without ceremony, found my keys amidst the rocks and fled up the little sandy path, my heart feeling like it was burning up inside of me. I held onto that expression of his. I would hold onto it for the rest of my life.

CALEB & CHILDHOOD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There aren't a ton of details given about what Caleb's childhood was like, really just a few glimpses from when he was abandoned by his mom. But according to his personal timeline which is listed in YY/MM/DD format, Caleb and his mom went to the Ocean Diner together on March 20th, 2031.
I'm guessing they ordered cheeseburgers for lunch because that's what appears to be on the table in front of both of them and it would connect to the fact that Caleb always orders a cheeseburger when he goes to this diner. Then at one point during their meal, Caleb's mom got up and told him she was going to use the restroom. Caleb, having no reason to think that his mom would deliberately abandon him, sits quietly at the booth for quite some time while he waits for her to come back. But she never does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After telling Caleb she'll buy him breakfast and bringing him to the diner, Dolores offers him a tablet with a scanned transcript and tells him to read it. When he first starts reading, he doesn't know what it is, but as soon as he reads the phrase "I don't know what to do, my mom—" he realizes that this is what he said when he was a kid
She tells him "You sat in that spot for 5 hours. Your mother never returned." But I don't think he just sat around a full 5 hours before he first decided to ask for help, it was probably more like 15-20 minutes before he went "she's been gone quite a while...hope everything's okay in there..." 30 minutes before he went, "this is not normal, I'm getting worried something happened to her." 45 minutes or an hour and he decided "I'm very worried and I'm calling for help" and asked the waitress if he could use the phone.
Then the remaining 4 hours was likely just waiting, hoping his mom would realize she forgot and come back to get him and that hope growing dimmer every minute that nothing happened, and then just waiting until someone from social services was available to come pick him up.
I headcanon little details around like the waitress checking the bathrooms to see if maybe Caleb's mom got trapped in there or fell unconscious by some accident. Periodically checking outside the diner to see if she would come back or just be seen wandering around out there on the street. Telling Caleb he's welcome to listen to whatever songs he wants on that jukebox at his booth while he waits. Caleb punching in a few songs and thinking "That's cool and all but I really just want my mom."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caleb remembers one of the humanizing details of this memory is that the waitress was named Sara. Sara brought him a strawberry milkshake hoping it would help calm him down and feel better. Instead of helping anything, [tw: emetophobia] his nerves just cause him to throw up and take the situation from bad to worse.
When Dolores brings Caleb to the diner after she rescues him, she tells the waitress "He'll take a cheeseburger and a strawberry shake, no nuts, two cherries" and orders for him, informing him afterwards that he comes to the same diner every year, sits at the same booth, and orders the same thing. I don't know why it's February 23rd he goes and not February 2nd, his birthday - or March 20th, the day he was abandoned, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if it's a way of taking back control.
Maybe the idea was that if he visits the diner on his birthday or on the anniversary of when the traumatic experience of being left occurred, he's going to have a certain expectation of how the day is going to be and it's more likely to wind up being a bad day. But if he visits on just a regular day in-between that, he's less likely to expect things will go poorly. Or maybe someone just got a date wrong in the script and I'm putting too much energy into this. Anything is possible.
Six months after Caleb's mom goes missing, she is found and diagnosed with schizophrenia and then admitted to a mental institution. Once again, Incite doesn't elaborate on any of the emotional aspects of how this would've made Caleb Feel, so it's all free real estate. I imagine this would've devastated him. "What do you mean I can't go home with my mom? Why are they sending her away?" and that sort of thing.
I think before the abandonment, Caleb and his mom had a good bond and that's part of why he continues to carry those memories with him into the present day - he hasn't given up on her. He spends time with her in the treatment facility every week. He kisses her on the forehead before he leaves. He brings her favorite books to her and he cares about her interests enough to remember what her favorite books actually are. He pays her medical expenses even if he has to commit crimes to make sure he has enough money for it.
He does all of this despite the fact that she left him behind as a kid and doesn't recognize him anymore. She tells him he's not her son the first time we watch them interact. The second, she calls him a good boy, thanks him, and asks him who he is. Then she tells him she wants her son back. That can't be an easy thing for Caleb to hear from his mom, but he takes care of her anyway because he feels it's the right thing to do.
In terms of his mom's diagnosis, the criteria for schizophrenia according to the DSM-5 is that a patient must exhibit at least two symptoms/traits of the disorder to qualify for diagnosis. the symptomatic criteria includes:
Delusions (i.e. fixed false beliefs)
Hallucinations
Disorganized speech
Disorganized or catatonic behavior
Negative symptoms (i.e. Decrease in emotional range, poverty of speech, and loss of interests and drive; the person with schizophrenia has tremendous inertia)
At least 1 symptom must be the presence of delusions, hallucinations, or disorganized speech.
Caleb's mom being convinced that her son is not her son...I think that qualifies as a delusion, a fixed false belief. The way I've always viewed it is she's expecting her son to show up and still be an 8 year old boy. She's not connecting that the 35 year old man who comes to visit her every week is who that kid grew up to be. Her abandoning him at the diner could have been a result of either disorganized or catatonic behavior, or negative symptoms such as a decrease in her emotional range or the loss of interest/drive/motivation to be a mother.
In contrast to his mom's significance in his life, there is never a single mention of Caleb having a father, and being a good dad to Frankie is something that he seems to struggle with to some degree. It's like there's an underlying feeling of insecurity that he's not good enough to be a father and that maybe Rehoboam was right in restricting his marriage and reproductive freedom. It doesn't help that he's sitting on 7 years of unresolved trauma triggers and the symptoms of anxiety and depression that most likely have him wondering "Why am I still not happy with what I've got?"
Me, personally, I choose to think he grew up without a father, so he doesn't necessarily know what a good one is supposed to look like. He knows he needs to show up, to be there for his daughter, which is likely more than his dad ever did for him...but even with that, sometimes there's a fuss in how he goes about this.
Tumblr media
Uwade raises the concern that Caleb is teaching Frankie to be like him in all the worst ways for a young girl to emulate. He's a soldier with PTSD, so now his daughter acts like a soldier with PTSD, and it just reinforces this idea that he is Not being a good dad.
After Caleb suggests to Uwade that he's leaving for a while to put a stop to the threat that is endangering all three of them, She states "You promised you'd be a father," and Caleb gets pretty emotional with a defense of "I am one." He knows he should stay, he'll be able to protect his family better if he's physically there to protect them. But that's something he doesn't feel like he's good enough for.

-The name I gave the "Volley Ball Girl" from Chorus; Molly Dahl, and her nick-name is Dolly~ (combo of her first and last name... and yes, it is a pun to still sound like Volley Ball haha)
-He's not exactly "less popular", but we don't know much about Florida, so... He actually keeps faking his death to go work multiple background schemes. He's not even "dead" after that last incident, he just saw an opportunity to pretend to die, and took it. He has several false identities at multiple levels of importance/rank, so he just goes and picks up something else somewhere. He's still very "fond" of the Blood Gulch boys, so after the got disbanded from their original bases, he tried to choose where they went (it didn't totally work out, he only managed to keep Church from getting picked back up directly from Project Freelancer, set up Tucker eventually reuniting with Junior, and put Grif and Simmons in the same base... he meant to have new people join Church, but Other Stuff Happened, Florida dropped the ball, and also Tucker got buried in the sand when he wasn't looking. oops!). His personal motivations and ultimate goals are a bit of a mystery. He doesn't have any Grand Insidious Schemes exactly, but he keeps trying to manipulate people without letting them be in the know, and when it doesn't WORK, they suffer. He needs to quit it
-Random ideas about Rat's Nest; there had been rumors of a Freelancer at Blood Gulch, and thanks to some miscommunication, they all thought it was GRIF. So, they put him in charge. Also, thanks to rumors about Simmons being such a suck-up, and how he both seemed to follow Grif's orders but also back-talked him more than anybody else, everybody at Rat's Nest assumed Simmons was TRYING to get some kind of flirtatious special-treatment thing going on. Grif never heard those rumors, but Simmons did, and he was MORTIFIED
-Phil (the guy who complained about the "stupid sucky wind") had early training with Biff and Temple. It was pretty uneventful. He complained the whole time
-The "Orange Reds" didn't die; when Cherry "exploded", she actually activated teleportation technology similar to the "future cubes", and for now, they all stuck in a pocket dimension
-At some point, Jimmy (the person who became the "host" for the Alpha AI) was in a bad accident. Not only was he physically injured, there was an issue from being attacked by a strange alien weapon; he was going to experience a repeating memory loss (thinking it was the day before the accident over and over), before eventually dying. Because of what the Alpha AI was capable of, it would be able to keep Jimmy ALIVE, but they weren't sure about the memories. When Church woke up, unsure of what had happened, his own life became a mix of Jimmy's memories, left-overs from the Director, real events he experienced but had become distorted, and some random information to fill in the gaps (Jimmy actually discovered that his girlfriend had been cheating on him the same day of the accident, when he "repeats" the day before, he still thinks they're together. this, plus the Director's weird feelings of "loss/betrayal" over Allison is in the background of Church's thoughts). Jimmy wasn't going to survive without the Alpha, either way... but he never got to even understand what was happening to him, or be remembered by others as JIMMY, so it's pretty sad...
-Both Mason Wu and his wife Megan are mercenaries/secret agents... and haven't told each other. They are accidentally Mr and Mrs Smith-ing it, but if the truth eventually comes out, they aren't going to like, shoot each other (they genuinely are in love, and are smart enough not to get involved with planet-wide genocides unlike SOME PEOPLE, so they don't get up to much trouble)
-The process used to create the very unique AI was actually similar to to how the "AI gods" were made, though on a much smaller scale. In a way, the Fragments are all like a little pantheon; god of Deceit, god of Trust, god of Ambition, etc. They aren't as "powerful", and arguably can't just "become" like that, but there are some things that overlap
hey guys Can you comment or rb with your non main character/less popular character rvb headcanons? (looks at you with my crazed wet eyes)

Does anyone else ever get sad thinking about the abuse Hawks went through as a kid? Because I keep making myself sad thinking about it.
It's so many different kinds of fucked up that just mixed together and created one huge toxic environment.
#1) The physical abuse.
Right off the bat, Chapter 299 starts with Keigo getting hit by his father for leaving the house. It doesn't actually show Keigo being smacked, instead it shows a panel of their "home". (although it's extremely small and looks more like a broken down shack in a field to me)
But the sound of the "smak" is very much punctuated in the panel, followed by Keigo hunched over with marks on his face:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The marks on his face are prevalent. Even in the smaller panel, Keigo still has a very obvious bruise under his eye and above his eyebrow.
THEN he gets kicked in the side/stomped on for "turning his back" on his father?? (Aka doing nothing. Literally what did he do?? Wtf?):
Tumblr media
He's getting smacked and kicked around, but instead of crying or getting upset he just endures. Which brings me to:
#2) The Emotional and verbal abuse. (Strap in cause there's a lot of it.)
Keigo apologizes after his father kicks him for no reason, then he curls up into a ball, clings to his Endeavor plushy, and listens as his own father rants about how much he wishes that Keigo was never born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^^^^^^^ LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID ASSHOLE. HE'S LITERALLY CLINGING TO HIS PLUSHY FOR COMFORT!! WHY ISN'T ANYONE HUGGING HIM??? CAN I HUG HIM??
Keigo says that he knew his parents were broken, so he endured because he wanted to avoid their fate.
Basically: "I know my parents are broken, but need to endure because I don't want to become broken too."
That's a horrible mindset for a child to have?? He's basically saying that he just needs to take the abuse and hope that he doesn't break because of it?
And I don't know how he wouldn't break from it with the way his parents talk to him, and all the horrible things they say:
The constant screaming/yelling. Like Shit.
"Don't do a damn thing!" " Who did you sell me out too?? You can't fool me!!" "Don't leave this house!" "Don't you dare lie to me!!" "Don't go talking to anyone!!" "You thought you'd get away with it didn't you??"
Tumblr media
"How many times have I told you not to turn your back on me??"
Tumblr media
"If only that punk was never born I'd be free."
Tumblr media
"Why were you even born?" "Why do you even have those wings?"
Tumblr media
He's gotten it from both parents. And every time it happens he just hugs his plushy a little tighter.
#3) The neglect.
In pretty much all panels of Keigo's home theres Trash everywhere. If you go back and look at the house there isn't a single panel without some kind of trash in the frame. I see beer bottles, wine bottles, wooden planks, trash bags, newspapers, dirty rags, dirty laundry hanging from the wall & hangers, floor boards coming up, leaks from the top of the walls.
The "house" is barely holding together as it is. It looks like it's about to collapse, and the inside makes you think a tornado ran through it. Nobody is bothering to clean up the mess. In fact the only person who seems to be patching up the house is Keigo. This seems to be a routine for him since he can be seen picking up a wooden plank to fix the wall. Too bad his father kicked him before he could repair the hole 🙃.
Seriously does the "house" even have running water? The windows are broken the walls are made of tin roofing tiles. Does it even have heating or insulation? It's obviously not suitable for a child. I'd be afraid that the roof was gonna fall on me while I was sleeping.
I understand they can't buy a proper home. But it wouldn't be so bad if someone acutely bothered to clean the inside a bit. At least maintain the house so your kid doesn't step on a nail, or glass from a beer bottle. IF A CHILD CAN PATCH UP A WALL SO CAN YOU. WHY IS KEIGO DOING ALL THE WORK?
You people are gonna get rats and bugs. (If you dont have them invading your "house" already)
And that's only the house.
What about Keigo? He doesn't even have shoes. His shirt is torn at the seams. And his parents didn't even notice when he left? Keigo's dad yelled at him for leaving the house and going outside, but was anyone even watching him in the first place? How does your child leave the house and make it halfway to the city before you notice? This little bird looks like he weighs 5 pounds! He's gonna get kidnapped!!
His mom is obviously unstable and she stares at the wall all day. And his dad hates him for existing. So I guess no one was watching him?
His mom also doesn't really seem to care when Keigo gets yelled at, hit, and kicked either. She just kinda stares at the wall. Then when her and Keigo become homeless and start living in a train station she guilt trips him into stealing for her. Like Really??
HE GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT TOO! You sent your child out to steal for you and he literally got into a car accident. He managed to save everyone involved but still, are trying to get your son hit by a truck? This is why I have so many mixed feelings about Tomie.
#4) Being held hostage in his own home.
This one is self explanatory. Keigo got hit in the face just for going outside. He was held hostage in his home for so long that he didn't even know heroes existed. And this is a society where heroes are everywhere. I'm sure it was a lonely childhood, kinda hard to make childhood friends when you get beaten just for leaving the house.
#5) Whatever the fuck "rough training" was.
Tumblr media
I know we haven't seen Keigos "rough" training yet. Horikoshi only went into a little bit of detail about it when he mentioned that the commission taught Hawks negotiation skills as a kid. And then theres that one image in the Season 4 outro where Keigo has a blindfold on as a child during training.
But I still would like to know more.
Why would you put a child through "rough" training, strip him of his name, and tell him it's all because he's gonna become a "special hero" right after you've pulled him out of an extremely abusive situation. Like, you aren't gonna wait a bit? Preferably until he's a teenager? Not gonna give him therapy or something?
Isn't pulling a child out of an abusive situation and putting them through "rough training" kinda like transfering them from one abusive household to another?
LET THE BOY REST! LET THE KID BE A KID. YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHILDHOOD AND HE'S ALREADY MISSED OUT ON MOST OF HIS!!
The training can wait.
If you want help him and support his family, do it out of the kindness of your heart and not because you think he'd be a useful hero.
I honestly don't know how this "training" went for Keigo, but considering that he doesn't currently have the best relationship with the HPCS . . . Well I don't know. All I know is that he never really seems too happy around people from the commission. He doesn't seem to agree with any of their ideologies either.
Honestly I just want him to find peace!
Based on what we've seen so far, (*cough* especially from the Todoroki family *cough*) you really shouldn't be training a child to become a hero in the first place. The training can start as a teenager if someone chooses to train.
Look at the way you massacred my boy! Give the kid a break for fucks sake!!
And these are just the early years. Don't get me started on everything else ✋🙄

let me be clear about something as someone who does not like eric or eric ships
it's not him fucking up CAELUS that makes me dislike him. it's how he treats rachel even when you pick the 'good' options.
i don't consider what rachel did as cheating. if you pay attention to their dialogue and explore the different options, you'll learn that after the accident, they drifted apart. eric poured his attention into CAELUS, blamed rachel for the accident (which is unfair imo also don't put your fucking feet on the dashboard--there are so many documented cases of people fucking up their legs in car crashes that way), pulled away from her, and then comes back a year later to take over her operation and expect things to be fine again.
they aren't legally divorced, but they WERE separated for a YEAR for all intents and purposes. if you get the cut scene with nick and rachel meeting for the first time, you get the tail end of a phone convo she has with eric that gets heated with her implying eric said some meanspirited shit to her. that doesn't sound like the type of guy i would take back with open arms and this is AT camp slayer which means that phone call happened within the last few weeks before the game (and post-checkpoint for nick, another timeline clue).
so, 1) he pulls away after the accident after blaming her for it 2) leaves to focus on work for a year while she tries to move on by focusing on HER career 3) comes back to take over her program and 4) acts like everything is normal when he comes back.
and look, everything he says after that--the simping as we all like to joke about--is typical nice guy bullshit. i have seen this so many times where guys act like they didn't do anything wrong and expect the woman to just get over it and come back to them with apologies and unconditional love. it's manipulative, it's toxic, it's unhealthy.
i did a co-op playthru recently where eric simped while rachel told him to back off, she moved on. later, when he was being choked by the ancient one, she came back to save him, but i fucked up a qte. you know what eric did? he booked it while rachel got infected by a vampire. later on in the game, he didn't try to save her and then ghost signaled nick. when jason wants to go back to save salim, eric tells him salim isn't one of them despite everything they had been through together.
that's so beyond petty, i can't even find a way to spin that into a good thing.
oftentimes i ignore stuff about eric. i just move on. maybe it was just all bad writing; i mean the whole love triangle and nick's storyline being conflated with that when he had a more interesting character arc with the checkpoint is bad writing, period. however, i don't like implications that people are wrong for disliking a character or have stupid reasons for it lmao. my reasons are shaped by real world interactions with men like this and i ain't apologizing for that. he's a shitty average looking white blond guy that is often excused for his shitty behavior and often gets put over nick (and nevermind the treatment rachel gets) and that rubs me in all the wrong ways.
if eric is your favorite character, that's cool. i'll respect that and leave you alone, but i gotta say my piece about it since ive been seeing one too many posts writing off people for not liking him.

WonderBug
Angst Edition
Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) x Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Ladybug)
I am late. SO, so , so late but here it is
1: Soulmates @maribat-angst-fluff-april
My partner is the wonderful @thedragonbug
Ao3
Fuffy Edition
Tumblr media
Soulmates exist, and Marinette hates hers. You see everyone is born with their half or part of a complete soul mark. The other parts would appear when you were closer to your soulmate and be permanent when they were close emotionally. For everyone, the appearance or 'drawing' of the mark was light and warm. But not for her, no her drawing was heavy and hot, like a hot knife digging into her arm.
Her parents knew this, and it was concerning, to know that their child was in pain because of their soulmate. Seeing as the marks were not supposed to be painful. Yet as there was no good reason given by medical and mark professionals, and the fact that her soulmate didn't stay near her for long there was nothing that they could do. They did tell her that few, this phenomenon affects one in a million people and she was just lucky enough to be one of them.
Over the years she grew used to the pain, but every time she did it would come back even stronger than the last. She slowly hated her mark and in turn her soulmate. Marinette would cover her mark, ignore it, even wish it away. All her soulmate did was bring her pain. Sure, it upped her pain tolerance, but it hurt her still.
When she turned fourteen, she became Ladybug. She then recognized that her mark was actually the wire of her yo-yo.
The first time Chat Noir claimed they were soulmates she broke down in tears. luckily for her he told her during patrol and not an attack.
"We aren't soulmates, Chat, and I'm glad we aren't." She nearly whispered.
"Why Bug?"
"Because I hate my soulmate, and I don’t want to ever hate you."
"Why would you hate your soulmate?" He seemed genuinely curious. But no one outside her parents knew, not a single person knew what happens to her.
"Because it hurts when they are close, it hurts so badly. The drawing is painful. I never want to meet the person who keeps hunting me." Tears formed in her eyes and Chat hugged her.
"I'm not your soulmate, then." She shook her head. "Good thing I'm your partner, and Plagg help me I am going to be your best friend. Got that Bugaboo?"
A half-hearted chuckle and a small smile escaped her. "Sounds good Kitty." The first person she has ever told, the person who was convinced that they were soulmates, cares for her, to help alleviate some of her pain.
The two became inseparable after that, to the point that most of Paris believed they were in a relationship.
When Nadia asked them about it during an interview, their reactions were memorable. Both all but gagged, turned to face each other, and then laughed almost falling out of the seats.
"I believe we have missed the joke." Nadia commented, worried, and confused.
"Why would I date my sister?"
"Sister?"
"Ladybug and I consider each other siblings in all but blood."
"Everything between us is simply platonic, not even close to romantic.” Ladybug answered after Chat.
“Then why would the whole of Paris believe you to be soulmates?” She may be good at hiding her pain, but the question must have made her react slightly, or Chat knew how sensitive the topic was to her.
“We aren’t soulmates, not the bonded ones that everyone thinks of.” He began. “We are the holders of the black cat and ladybug respectively because our souls resonate with the miraculous. Sure, they are two parts of a whole, but we are practically twins, two halves of coin. She is the sister I choose, she is my partner, and that is our relationship.”
“He’s completely right, now I think it’s time for us to start our patrol, BugOut!” Her smile now in place and their excuse to leave perfectly timed and respectful they made their exit.
They went on their patrol as normal, except just as they arrived at the Eiffel Tower to end the patrol. She was about to land on the platform when a searing pain flashed and radiating affecting her entire body blinding her momentarily. A single moment caused her to collapse on the tower landing, crumpling on the platform.
“LB!” Her breath came out in short bursts, she was clutching her upper arm eyes squeezed shut. This was the worst it has ever happened before, and she wanted it to end. As soon as the cause of pain came it disappeared. Leaving only the memory and a phantom pain.
"Just give me a minute." She slowly got her breathing under control, starting to get accustomed to the new level of pain.
"You weren't kidding that is the worst I’ve ever seen you hurt."
"Yeah not fun."
---
A month after that her mark burned again. This time during class. The teachers knew she would randomly stop due to pain, but they were told they were random migraines. To the point Mari would hold her head and rub her arm to sooth herself, while playing up a headache. Adrien stayed back after the class let out." You know you don't always need to put on a brave face Bugaboo."
Her attention snapped to him. "Well it's easier than constantly answering questions Kitty." She figured quickly.
Sure, they found out one another's identity, but that worked in their favor. After Tikki got sick, Fu started training Mari, and after a month Marinette was given guardianship. Fu still hasn’t lost his memories because Mari let Wayzz stay with him, for the time being, he eventually returns it to Mari in order to move on with his life, his memories fading gradually.
When Adrien got his hands on the grimoire, he of course showed it to Marinette.
“Kitty I know you don’t want to hear this, but I think your dad might be Hawkmoth.” This seemed to perfect for him to have without him being a villain.
“I know, but…”
“Adrien is there any motive anything that might be what he would wish for?”
“My mom. Dad closed himself off when she disappeared. I bet he would wish for her back.”
“Okay, so I’m going to be blunt okay.” He nodded. “So, if your mom is dead there isn’t anything that can be done without the wish, meaning at least one other person is dying.”
“So…”
“But if she is anything but.” She flipped through the grimoire recalling the studies she’s did with Fu. “There are ways we can find or even heal her.”
“This is all riding on an if.” He looked unsure as if this was too much to accept.
“Do you trust me?”
“If I didn’t, I would have turned tail and run a long time ago.”
“You dork.” She lightly shoved him, but he swayed dramatically.
“You two are close.” The new student in their class came up to them.
“Lila, right?”
“That’s right.” She answered sickly sweet, almost fake. “Are you two soulmates by any chance?”
“No.” Adrien answered. “Why?”
“You’re Adrien Agreste! Why would you be in public school?” She finally seemed to recognize.
“Let’s just say it’s a bit of rebellion.” He chuckled.
“We’re still on for video games, right?” She brought up to end the conversation seeing that Adrien was getting uncomfortable.
“Your winning streak is going down.” He announced.
“You want to join us, Lila?” She offered.
“Why?”
“Because your new and I want to get to know you.” Marinette answered honestly.
“Why?”
“Because we know you lied but still want to know you, the real you.” Adrien added.
“Why?” She asked suspiciously now.
“Question! Is it a felony to kidnap her to play video games, have snacks, get to know her, then let her go?”
“Well the kidnapping part is but if she goes willingly, I call that a hangout session.” Adrien mused.
“True, true.” She hummed. “So, what do you say, because now I am determined to get to know you.”
“Wh…”
“Kidnapping it is.” Adrien decided and grabbed the new girl’s wrist pulling her out of the library. Mari picking up their bags.
Lila herself wasn’t too bad once she started telling the truth, lying is a coping mechanism she created, because she is constantly moving schools, cities, and even countries. She is pretty interesting when she isn’t exaggerating. She was on a Hollywood movie set, but she was there on accident, she was looking for the bathroom in a restaurant and they were filming there that day. She did save a kitten on a tarmac once, but one it wasn’t Jagged Stones, it was a kitten who spooked out of their carrier and rushed down the stairs. Lila dove and caught it before it could leave the passenger unloading area to get the tram to the airport. (Some small airports unload passengers in a certain area of the tarmac and either shuttle them to the building or have a sectioned of walkway that is cleared for passengers, to walk back in only.)
After almost two hours Lila left for home when Adrien’s father called, and he was angry. Together she and Adrien ran back to the Agreste Mansion.
“Adrien!” Gabriel came out disheveled and slightly panicked. “And Miss Dupain-Cheng.” He slightly composed himself.
“Sorry I kept him.” She apologized. “He showed me this really cool book and you know how it is when inspiration hits.”
“Ah yes the inspiring fashion designer friend.” Adrien had walked up and handed his father the grimoire.
“It’s quite an interesting spell book.”
“You can read it?”
“Yes, I can. (Come on out little butterfly.)” Nooroo flew out from his hiding spot. “Hello kwamii of transmission and to you as well Hawkmoth.” She was calm deathly calm.
“How?!” Gabriel growled.
“Calm down. I have a question for you first. You want the jewels used by Ladybug and Chat Noir, why?”
“Would my answer change your plan of action to urn me into authorities and to the heroes?”
“My response may change, but you’ll have to answer to find out.”
“My wife wielder the peacock miraculous, it is broken, and she fell ill, and is in a comatose state.”
“Ah! So here is what is going to happen.” She took the grimoire from Gabriel and flipped over pages. “There is a way to revive her without resorting to using the wish.”
“How do you know this?”
She simply smiled. “You mind gathering these ingredients please Adrien?” She text him a list.
“Sure.”
“How do I know that this isn’t a ruse?”
“One I hate liars, and two because all magic has a cost, and this way is less than if you were to use the wish.”
“What do you mean cost?”
“Just like using your transformation wears on the kwamii, and the power affects your limit. Magic has its cost. The wish because it will always rewrite reality, the price is steep. Bringing back one life means you lose at minimum one other person from your life most likely more.”
“And this?”
“From what I understand. Everyone involved in the spell will have their energies deprecated so they will sleep for a day to a week.”
“Randomly?”
“No, the more people the less each person sleeps.”
“Here they are!” Adrien burst back in the room.
“Do you have the peacock miraculous?” Gabriel nodded. “Okay we’ll need that first, so lead the way to the kitchen.” Both men shuffled confused. “You do know where the kitchen is right?”
“Um well find it eventually.” Adrien chuckled. They were lucky and form it easily and Gabriel left while she and Adrien began to individually brew two separate potions. Adrien the more complex one for his mother’s revival. And she did the simpler one to fix the miraculous. Sue her Adrien is the better one in chemistry, sure he can’t cook to save himself, but he has a gift for chem, and Tikki help her she will teach him to cook. It’s practically edible chemistry, right?!
She took the Brock from Gabriel and fixed it, allowing Duusu out. “Okay so who is going to do this?”
“We will,” Adrien answered for himself and his Father, who nodded.
“Please let be help as well.” Miss Sancoeur offered.
Nooroo, Duusu, Tikki, and Plagg (they came out of hiding now) came to her. “We can help.”
She nodded and saw that Gabriel and Natalie were staring wide eyed between her and Adrien. She thought she heard Natalie say, ‘That explains so much’ but she isn’t sure.
Long story short they were able to wake up Emile, but she took back the peacock and butterfly, leaving Plagg with Adrien. Funnily enough the Agreste’s became a second family to her, once Gabriel finally grasped how to be a father. They told Paris that they had found Hawkmoth, but he would be tried by the order of Miraculous, meaning he would be stripped of the gem and his memories of the miraculous erased. It was a lie but Tikki told her that was what would have happened. There was some outcry, but they explained that they would have no recollection of it, and it wouldn’t make sense to try them.
The next few years of her life were blissfully normal, aside from the fact she had a contract under the Gabriel brand as the designer MDC, who was also endorsed by Style Queen. Chloe isn’t as bad as she puts on when she isn’t masking the hurt of being constantly ignored and bought by her parents.
- - -
It wasn’t until she was twenty-two and accompanying Adrien to a Wayne charity gala, one he didn’t want to go alone and two she was invited anyways, Chloe, Kagami, and Luka were also there on their own merits and invitations so they all stuck relatively together. Since arriving there Marinette was a constant pain, her arm burned and ached, but she forced herself to simply breathe and tried her hardest to push it out of her mind. But her luck wouldn’t hold, three hours into the event she was approached by who she recognized as Bruce Wayne, the host of the gala, and a woman to his left, the pain was almost unbearable the closer the two approached. Her friends noticed, they knew what her pain actually meant, as she opened up to them about it after a while, but she grit her teeth and tried to push through it.
“Mr. Agreste, Miss Bourgeois It is good to see you both again.” Bruce Wayne acknowledged. “It’s nice to meet all of you as well, Bruce Wayne.” He introduced to the rest, shaking hands. “And this is a good friend of mine.”
“Diana Prince.” She also went to shake everyone’s hands and had left Marinette for the last. The moment their hands touched she almost crumpled, she shrunk back and into Adrien and Chloe. “Is she okay?”
“Diana?” Bruce pointed towards her upper arm, the mark most of them overlooked before was now complete and glowing lightly. What Marinette remembered was that there was her yo-yo string and a golden rope that she only saw once before on her own arm. She felt sick, Diana was staring at her now, she recognized that Marinette was her soulmate.
“Melody?” Luka now stepped up.
“I want to leave.” She answered flatly.
“You are…”
She completely turned away, but by now her friends knew what was going on and were glaring at Diana. “I want to leave, now.” She repeated.
“Come on bug, let’s get you away from… this.” He threw a look at Diana, who was looking confused and seemingly alarmed.
The other three were putting as much space as they could between their friend and who is unknowingly causing her pain.
“Please is she alright?” Diana asked stepping forward barely grazing her hand covering her mark. This time it felt as if the skin itself was burning and stung almost like it was being pricked over and over and over again.
“Don’t touch me and stay away from me.” On the outside she looks clam and relaxed, but her voice was soft and raw, her eyes burned in pain. “You and that completed mark can stay far from me.”
“Luka, Kagami mind taking her back to the house?” The two in question led her away and once a safe distance away she broke down in tears, sobbing from the pain she was biting down.
- - -
The two that stayed were simultaneously glaring at her and watching their friends leave the gala.
“Is she alright?” Bruce finally bole the tension.
“As soon as she is far enough away from her.” The girl, Chloe, snapped at her. “Now that we know who is the the person causing her pain, we can keep her from them.” She snapped towards her, but it was a slap to Diana.
“I don’t follow. We are…”
“Soulmates, yeah we figured.” Adrien this time spoke.
“They why would she want to leave, without speaking?”
“One one in a million people are in pain when they are close to their soulmates.” Adrien spoke calmly but stoically. “No one knows why.” He began to fidget with a ring on hi# finger, she couldn’t recall if she saw any jewelry on her soulmate, Marinette, but she has a suspicion. After all she feels similar to her Mother’s aura and presence, that of a Ladybug.
“You are wrong. There is an explanation, but only a few know why that is.” She feels certain that she knows what this is.
“Let me guess you know why.” Chloe remarked, sarcastically and unamused.
“Allow me to explain this another time and place, as this is neither.”
“Fine call this number at noon est tomorrow.” Adrien handed her a phone number and the two turned and left.
“Diana?” Bruce snapped her attention. “What was that about?” He was still calm and collected but she knew he would be the one to ask, figuring out what was the next step, what had the best options of success.
“Magic.”
- - -
The next day she called the number and she was invited to a video call by the recipient. It turned out to be Marinette.
“Hello Diana.” Her voice was not cold but it was emotionless, as if she was forced into this conversation. Granted she did think she would be speaking with Adrien and Chloe.
“I never wanted to harm you, I swear that on the river Styx.” she began but before she could continue Marinette cut in.
“Let’s be clear, I don’t care about your apologies. I just want to know why this is happening and how to either get rid of it or to never have contact with you in any way or proximity.”
“I am apologizing because this is known as the curse of the ladybug and black cat.” She saw the young woman tense at that. “The reason I know of this is from by Mother, Queen Hippolyta Of the Amazon’s.” She allowed that to sink in and the other woman allowed her to drop her defense, nodding to what is said.
“When you say the curse of the ladybug and black cat what do you mean by that?”
“True souls of the miraculous, when in their life they come into contract with their given gems, cause a reaction.” Diana explained. “For the ladybug they receive the pain of their soulmate through their marks. Which is what I assume is going on.”
“Yes you’re right, but this has been going ever since I could remember.”
“Call it what you will fate, destiny, but you were always going to wield the ladybug jewel, that is why the curse manifested itself.”
“What about the black cat?”
“I am unsure, the black cat of my Mother’s time died before meeting their soulmate, but I would assume it would be similar to our situation.”
“Then how do we solve this?”

there aren't a lot of people in the fatui that have this certain air of innocence around them, except for the most naive recruits that would soon have their worldview shattered by the sight of death and decay. subject one's seen that happen multiple times, and every time, he feels bad about it, even if it wasn't directly his fault. the only recruit he had seen that didn't have that air of innocence when they first joined (although most recruits had already been through bad stuff, they still had that air) was the man that came to be known as the eleventh harbinger, childe.
childe, when subject one first saw him, had the deadest eyes on a person that he has ever seen in a person that wasn't already dead. a big part of him wondered why he was like that, and when he asked his papa about it, his papa sat him down and told him that childe fell into something called the 'abyss,' a scary place that he shouldn't ever go to willingly.
while both childe and nilou have pretty blue eyes like the ocean, nilou's are full of life--brilliant and shining and full of joy, like the waves lapping against the shore in the summer. childe's eyes are more like the deep blue depths of the ocean, dull and lifeless while the oceans were said to be teeming with life. maybe if the two met, they'd get along--while different, subject one thinks that their differences would meld well together, and they'd be fast friends.
"i think suni would like you a lot, even though you kind of remind me of tartaglia," subject one says in a more bright manner, swinging his feet a bit more and giving nilou a friendly smile. "suni thinks tartaglia is annoying, but she wouldn't think you would be annoying. she likes to dance, too!"
it's obvious that subject one likes suni a lot, from the few words he's spoken about her. maybe nilou could tell, maybe she couldn't--she didn't seem to pick up on the information that subject one spilled by accident (that he noticed a bit too late, hopefully he wouldn't get in trouble.)
Tumblr media
starter for @lotosomno
"and once there is a heaven, there will be a hell within the valley of the great celeste; oceans of misery and fire.....weird book."
subject one, with his nose buried in a book as he sits on top of a crate in grand bazaar, doesn't take much notice of the area around him. the fatui escort that one of his papas issued for him had told him to sit there and stay put while they explored the bazaar (in disguise, of course, people don't really like the fatui there). so, the boy had found a crate near a corner near a big, elegant stage to sit on while reading one of the books a different one of his papa's gave him. it's a philosophical book, of some kind, written by a woman from fontaine with a name that subject one has trouble pronouncing.
he swings his legs, lightly kicking the crate with his booted feet, balancing his heavy sling back on his lap while resting his elbows atop it. nipping the lower part of his lip, he turns the page, admiring the illustration of an angel casting judgement upon some deserving mortal. it's...a graphic illustration, to say the least, but some of the anatomy isn't right. some of those organs wouldn't be in the right places.
"the small intestine doesn't look like that," subject one mumbles partially to himself again, tracing a finger over the illustration carefully. "it's more...what's that thing papa said.....organically sound?" blue hair swings over his face and his mask as he ducks his head down slightly to get a better look at it.
so engrossed in his book is he, that he doesn't hear the sound of someone approaching him. his papa told him that he should be more aware of his surroundings.

Pregnancy Series - ,,Spinn Off’’
Tumblr media
RFA + Minor Trio with a MC who doesn’t want to give birth in C Section
⚠️ Sensitive content -> mention of: labor pain, blood, fluids ⚠️
Pregnancy Series: Part 1 // Part 2  // Part 3 // Part 4.1 // Part 4.2 // Part 5 // Part 6
HEY! So, since you all liked the Pregnancy Series a lot and I still had a writing which is dedicated to birth and Family I decided to post this as a ,,Spinn off’’ however this writing was written before I decided to write the Pregnancy Series so the story will be probably different from the original series!
Jumin
The both of you were at a diner when you suddenly got contractions, feeling pain in your whole body.
You couldn’t tell him for sure what was hurting you, but you knew that you would give birth to your baby soon.
When you suddenly felt water run down your legs, you immediately knew that this baby was impatient to meet the world.
You were gasping for air and holding Jumin’s hand when another wave of pain overcame you, making you go down to your knees and hold onto your abdomen stronger.
,,Mr Han, we will bring you to the hospital,’’ Driver Kim said, trying to get you up.
However, you stopped Jumin when he was too tired to move you. ,,The midwife said to wait for the ambulance in case the baby comes in the car…’’ you gasped and looked between him and the driver.
Jumin nodded, reminding that you were right and so all guests were brought outside while pillows were put on the floor so that you could lay down and feel a bit more comfortable.
,,Heeee heee hu….’’ he helped you to breathe, showing you the right rhythm.
Finally, the ambulance came, however, things took a bad turn and he quickly noticed that something wasn’t going the way it should…
,,She is having complications. We need to give birth in C-Section! Quickly!’’ one paramedic said as your eyes flickered. You were so weak by now.
He couldn’t do anything but just watch, but suddenly you found a bit of strength to go against the paramedic.
,,No! No wait,’’ you called, sobbing and trying to hold in Jumin’s jacket.
,,C-Section is so bad for the baby!’’ you said to Jumin.
He looked at you as you sobbed ,,She will die if they don’t do it…’’ Jumin told you and brushed your hair with his hand.
And so, to save your daughter, you clunched your eyes and let them rush you to the hospital, even though natural birth would have been better in your opinion...
Zen
,,The baby is in the wrong position. The legs are down,’’ the doctor told you.
There were just a few weeks to go until you would be due and there wasn’t the possibility that the baby would turn around this late in the pregnancy.
,,What? I don’t want it… I heard so many bad things,’’ you said as your hand laid on your belly, your child was kicking.
You were sad and kind of angry, you wished for a natural birth so much. Maybe one in the water.
But now this all disappeared.
,,The baby could hurt himself. I can’t help you, I’m sorry. And nowadays, the medical care is so good that your baby will be more than fine,’’ the doctor tried to make you feel better.
Zen patted your hand and smiled at you.
His red eyes looked at you as he tried to make you feel better.
,,It’s not that we have another option, MC,’’ he mumbled and kissed your hand.
Suddenly you began to cry. Those days, it happened a lot.
,,I know,’’ you sobbed.
,,That’s why… ah… I wanted to see my baby, to give birth at it, and what if they cut or hurt him?’’ you asked him.
,,I will be by your side and make sure nothing goes wrong, I promise…’’ he lastly told you, making you feel just a bit better.
Yoosung
,,We already did it once. The doctor back then told me that the next time there was a chance that I could give birth to my baby naturally and right now you are-ugh! Telling me no?!’’ you asked the nurse as she told you that you had to get ready for surgery.
,,Yoosung! Are you or aren't you a doc! Say something!’’ you said angrily to your husband.
He looked at you helplessly as he mumbled that he was a vet and that there was nothing he could do.
,,Mrs Kim, the baby's head is too big. It could get very dangerous for your newborn,’’ she told you and looked at you apologetically.
Suddenly you began to hiss. ,,Last time it hurt like hell! Yoosung! You did this again!’’ you hissed angrily while you held his hand.
He nodded and kept kissing your forehead as he apologized.
He knew how much you wished for this birth to be normal and that you wanted to see your child and not have countless people around you cut you and close you up again.
,,I will get you ready now, Mrs. Kim,’’ the nurse smiled and took out a razor to make your abdomen free from the hair for the surgery.
And just like back then, they gave you sedatives as you cried to yourself.
,,I… wanted to stay awake this time,’’ you groaned when you suddenly felt yourself feeling sleepy.
Yoosung could just cry as he saw you in pain.
Once again you both decided to go to a very big hospital and just like the last time, nothing was done the way you wished for it.
Not even Yoosung was allowed to stay as he was sent outside where Jumin and Jaehee, as well as Zen waited for him.
His daughter was sleeping in Jaehee’s arms as Zen approached him, patting him to ask why he was crying.
,,They didn’t do it how we wanted again,’’ he mumbled and looked over to the surgery room.
Jaehee
,,Why C-Section?’’ Jaehee asked the doctor.
You looked from her to the man in the white clothing as he explained why he had to perform the surgery.
,,But what if you accidentally cut my baby? Or what if something goes wrong? I’ve heard so many bad things,’’ you mumbled, looking at Jaehee.
The both of you fought so hard for this baby and to become both mothers.
You did everything right and now the last step would go like this?
Jaehee stroked your hair as she nibbled at her lips.
,,How much time do we still have?’’ Jaehee asked the doctor as she wanted to talk to you.
,,About half an hour,’’ he said, but before going out he looked back at the both of you. ,,Although, there’s not much to decide if you want to give birth to this baby well,’’ he said and with that he left you with your thoughts and fears.
,,Let’s do it, Mc,’’ Jaehee said as soon as he was out.
,,I know that we have to go with it, but I heard so many things and I thought this would be my body…’’ you whined.
Jaehee nodded as she kissed your nose. ,,Soon we will have this wonderful baby in our hands and then we will be able to enjoy our time, but one last time let’s do this, for the baby.’’
Saeyoung
You were pregnant with twins. When Saeyoung found out, he was scared at first.
Scared that he wouldn’t be a good father, that he would turn out like his mother, that his children wouldn’t like him…
The young man struggled with a lot of things, but when one day, you fainted early on in your pregnancy, he knew that he would love these children with his everything and that with you he had nothing to fear.
You would be by his side and support him and since he already loved and worried about his unborn children so much, there was no way that he would turn into a monster.
And maybe that’s why he was so protective of you when you felt the sharp pain and the ambulance had to pick you up, just to tell you that the babies would come way too early.
,,We need to perform a C-Section,’’ the doctor nodded and asked Saeyoung to sign the document.
He was about to sign when you stopped him. Gasping for air, you tried to check if there was another way.
,,Delaying the birth won’t be an option. It could put you or one of the babies at risk. Twins usually come earlier so there is nothing to fear. We will do our best.’’
Even if you still didn’t trust the doctor, you decided to go with it and so you were transported away to a place Saeyoung couldn’t keep you safe on his own anymore…
Saeran
The both of you looked at each other as the doctor told you the news.
You were currently pregnant and in your final trimester.
Everything went well these past 38 weeks.
Your baby was healthy, you were healthy, and you enjoyed every single moment of it.
But right now, the only thing you felt was disappointment as the doctor told you that you probably couldn’t give birth naturally, but needed a C-Section as the baby turned around at the last minute so the feet of your newborn were down and the head upside down.
You pressed your lips together and Saeran could see that your hands were trembling.
You were scared of giving birth, but now that this problem came up, you were also unsure.
But you knew that you didn’t have another possibility other than to agree with him.
,,I don’t like that they will have to use so many medications, I heard that a lot of things can go wrong,’’ you mumbled on your way home.
You were still holding his hand. The both of you walked slower as it was hard for you to keep up with him.
,,I know, I understand,’’ he gasped. He too, to be honest, would have liked to see you giving birth naturally, but on the other hand it would be less painful for you, he thought.
,,Baby, why can’t you turn around?’’ you asked your baby and received a kick.
,,Yeah, thanks!’’ you laughed and held the spot you were just kicked in with your hand.
Saeran supported your back with his hand as he led you home. ,,I know how you feel, but I will do my best to stay by your side even in surgery and the next time, for the next baby, we can have a natural birth, I am sure of it!’’ he smiled, making you feel a bit better.
Jihyun
He rubbed his hands together as he sat on the uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room.
Jumin was next to him as he was leaning back.
He seemed relaxed on the outside, but to be honest, he was also worried.
For Lucy, the little girl he was the godfather of and you, a person who changed his best friend's life for the better. He was grateful to you.
But to know that you actually had an accident didn’t make him feel that good, knowing that you were 39 weeks pregnant, however, made his stomach twist.
,,Mr. Kim,’’ the doctor asked and looked around, mustering the attention of the two handsome men in the waiting room.
,,Yes?’’ Jihyun got up and tried to gulp. His throat was just so dry…
He was scared of the words of the doctor, but he felt at ease as soon as he was told that Lucy was okay.
,,She just has a little stitch in her arm and will probably have a little headache, but please don’t worry. However, your wife,’’ he stopped.
Jihyun felt his legs tremble as the doctor said ,,however’’, what did that mean?
,,We need to give birth to the baby now in a C-Section to prevent it’s death, but she is against it. We need to hurry, so if you would please try to calm her down so that we can begin,’’ he mumbled.
Jumin chuckled a bit. It was a serious matter, but he didn’t expect anything else from you, the woman who would fight everyone with everything she had.
Jihyun nodded and followed the doctor, seeing you with all those scratches and the blood made his heart sink, but he didn’t hesitate to approach you.
,,Hey,’’ he said, a bit sad as he noticed that your hands were trembling.
,,Jihyun,’’ you said. From the sound of your voice, he knew that you were on the verge of crying.
,,It’s too early,’’ you sobbed.
,,They will hurt him. I’ve heard so many bad stories… I don’t want to,’’ you mumbled, finally sobbing now.
,,I understand, Mc. I love you so much and I wish I could make you happy, but they have to or the baby will die if we don’t hurry,’’ he softly explained, trying to make you lay back as his fingers touched your trembling lips, following the shape of your red lips he loved so much.
,,You will be able to see your baby soon and Jumin is outside. Nothing will go wrong and we will keep an eye on it okay?’’ he asked you.
Slowly, you didn’t fight back as the nurse began to do her work, someone else shaving your abdomen.
One last time, you looked over to Jihyun who also seemed very emotional, but still managed to smile at you as you softly closed your eyes.
Now it was his turn to be strong for you...
Vanderwood
This morning was supposed to go differently when you woke up.
You guys actually wanted to have fun together on your couch and watch a movie, eat some food, and talk about the future.
But nothing came like that.
You suddenly felt dizzy in the bathroom and immediately called Vanderwood as you were beginning to panic.
,,I’m here,’’ he gasped and held you. ,,I’m here, Mc, what’s wrong?’’ he asked you again.
Softly, but weakly, you managed to tell him that you felt a slight pain between your legs.
At first he was scared, scared to death when he heard about your pain.
But as he arrived at the hospital with you, he calmed down.
The news that you would give birth soon made him nervous, yes, but he wasn’t scared that something was wrong with the baby or you.
Well, for now at least.
The situation quickly changed after three hours.
,,She’s too weak!’’ the midwife whined to the doctor.
Vanderwood was actually ready. Everyone was but you.
He saw you there, gasping for air, sweating and crying.
His heart was breaking as he saw how much pain you were in.
,,C-Section, we can’t go on like this,’’ the doctor calmly said and nodded to the nurses. Apparently, they all knew what to do.
Suddenly he heard your whimper as you looked to him
,,Please don’t. I will do better, but don’t,’’ you whined, searching for his hand.
Vanderwood didn’t think twice and held your hand as he tried to smile.
,,It will be alright, Mc, I promise. Nothing will happen to you or the baby, okay? Don’t worry, I will stay here,’’ he promised and tried to stroke your head. He tried to swipe the sweat away and noticed how hot you were.
Was this a fever or just from the hard work?
He knew that you wanted to fight back, say something, do something against the decision, but as you were so nervous, they decided to put you to sleep while the surgery was ongoing, making you close your eyes slowly.
,,I’m here,’’ he said and looked down to the medical staff performing the surgery.

Legend of the Forgotten Moon Princess
[Part II] [Part II.5]
a/n; im following both the anime and the manga, i have hulu and the sailor moon viz dub [aka the better dub] on dvd. so i have a lot of material to get inspo from. this chapter is following the first chapter of sailor moon manga and a bit of the second..]
so i made a mistake its 'Lunar Prism Power make up!'
[ Y/n ] gasped, looking at herself in the outfit. "Wha! What just happened?" She shouted, looking at the outfit in shock.
"This must be some dream." She says, as she looks down at the sailor outfit. A cat appears at her doorway, looking at her. "I finally found you!" The cat says, causing the girl to yelp and fall to the ground.
"W-who's there!?" She shouts, looking around and gasps. Seeing a black cat, with white spots covering its fur. She backs away.
"D-Did you just speak?" She asks, looking at the cat who simply nods, and jumps onto the counter beside her. The cat smiles at her,
"My name is, Atlas. And I've been searching far and wide for you." He says, and [Y/n] looks at him in shock. THis was too weird, to be happening this must be a dream.
"You have been chosen as a guardian, you have a duty! To gather, your allies and defeat your enemies. Also, you must discover the location of our Princesses." He says, and she bites her lip looking at him.
"P-Princesses? Enemies? Guardian!? What on earth is happening!?" She cries, looking down into her hands. This was too crazy, to bizarre.
Atlas sighs,  "Let me see that necklace." He asks, and she looks up at him. And takes it off, and places it in front of him. She watches, as the crescent moon shape on his forehead began to glow. And it touches, the necklace. Turning it into a brooch, she gasps looking at it.
"Wow!" She says, in amazement looking at it. She takes it, and sticks it on. "Now call out the words; Lunar Prism Power Make-Up!" He says, and she looks at him thinking for a moment. And nods, she takes a deep breath in and says,
"Lunar Prism Power Make-Up."  She shouts, and is developed by a light emitting from the brooch that was once her necklace. As she transforms, into Sailor Luna.
"You're the Sailor Guardian, Sailor Luna. Your mission is to find the other Sailor Guardians alongside Sailor Moon, and find our lost princesses." He says, and she looks at him. She jumps, as she heard screams.
"Quick, Sailor Moon needs your help!" He says, and she looks at him nervously. And nods, as she run out of her apartment, going to the source of the screams.
"Waa~ I can't take this, I'm going home!" Sailor Moon shouted, as the monster attacks her. It was about to strike her, when.
'Lunar Beam!'  She heard, someone shout. A bright beam attacks the monster,  it becomes dazed for a bit.
"What was that!" The monster, growls looking around.
"It's wrong to attack girls, now you have to deal with me." [Y/n] says, jumping down in between Sailor Moon and the monster.
"And who are you?" The monster growls, and [Y/n] smiles,
"I'm the Sailor Guardian, Sailor Luna. Who fights for the moon and the stars." She says, and the monster laughs.
"Well die!" The monster shouts, attacking [Y/n] who dodges, Sailor Moon still on the ground crying. [Y/n] sees this,
"Could, use a little help here!" She shouts, at her and Sailor Moon looks up at her scared.
"B-But.." Sailor Moon whimpers, scared shaking. And she burst into tears, causing [Y/n] to groan, she gasps as the monster grabs her by the neck. She groans, as she tries to pull the monster's hands off of her neck. [Y/n] groaned,
'Waxing Crescent!'  [Y/n] shouted, as she attacked the monster she falls to the ground gasping for air. She sighs, she stands up quickly. it grabs her, by the leg and throws her at the wall. She groans in pain, and gasps seeing that it was about to attack Sailor Moon.
"Sailor Moon, look out!" [Y/n] shouted, then a rose came down in front of Sailor Moon and a figure appeared at the windshield.
"Quit crying, It's your time to act! Now, Sailor Moon." Tuxedo Mask, said to her and She looks at him, and [Y/n] looks at him in shock.
"Now! Sailor Moon shout. Moon Tiara Action!" Luna shouts, at her and Sailor Moon now with new found confidence grabs the tiara at the top of her head, and shouts.
'Moon Tiara Action!'  she shouts, it attacks the monster. And the monster fades away.
[Y/n] stands up, groaning in pain. Wrapping her arm around her waist, she stands up and walks towards Sailor Moon.
"Good job!" [Y/n] says, to her but Sailor Moon wasn't listening she was more focused on Tuxedo Mask. As he leaves out the window, he looks back at the girls. As she looked at him,  it felt so familiar he seemed so familiar. She watches as he leaves, and looks down. She leaves, leaving Sailor Moon there looking around for her.
Once she got further away, she hid behind a building and turned back into her normal clothes. And walked into her apartment complex, she made her way up to her apartment wincing every now and then at her now bruised side.
As she walks towards her apartment, she trips and, and Mamoru who by coincidence, catches her in his arms. She groans, and looks up and gasps. Seeing Mamoru, she blushes, quickly pulls away embarrassed. She bows at him, "S-Sorry." She says, then walks pass him and towards her apartment.
She enters, her apartment. And falls onto her couch she groans in pain, at the pain in her side. She lifts her shirt, and sees a bruise. She sighs, Atlas walks over towards her.
"Why didn't you stay!? You and Sailor Moon need to work together." Atlas says, to her and she groans in annoyance. She looks, at him.
"Ugh, give me a break. My life has changed forever. And, I can't just work with a girl who I don't know." She says, falling back onto the couch. She groans, in pain once more.
"Eventually, don't worry I'll work with her just give me sometime to wrap my head around this." She says, yawning. As her eyelids, become heavier until they close. And she falls asleep, Atlas jumps up onto the couch.
"Fine, but tomorrow we need to find out who she is." He says, as he lays next to her on the couch falling asleep as well.
[ Flashback ] '
"M-Mommy?" [Y/n] cried, sniffling holding; her now destroyed Prince Endymion plush. [M/n] came around the corner, and gasped seeing her daughter standing there. With mud all over her face, and clothes. Her Endymion plush, ripped to shreds.
"Oh, sweetie what happened?" She asked, walking over towards her daughter bending down to her level. Her daughter looked up at her, and whimpered.
"T-they bullied me, they said that Y/n and Endymion aren't real. And that it's just some stupid story.." She cried, tears running down her cheeks.
"I-I told them; That it is real, and Endymion and Y/n are real. And I was gonna prove it, a-and so they pushed me and called me a baby. A-and." She whimpered, showing her mother the destroyed plush.
"T-they hurt him! Mommy they hurt Endymion!" She sobbed, her mother wrapped her arms around her daughter picking her up not caring about getting mud on the floor, or getting mud on herself. She carried her up the stairs, and into the bathroom.
"It's okay sweetie, those people are just jealous that they don't know the story. And for Endymion, don't worry I'll fix him up good as new." [M/n] says, taking Endymion from her daughter and placing him by the sink. She takes off her daughters clothes, and begins to wash her.
"Mommy?'" {y/n] says, looking up at her mother, her face red and puffy.
"Yes sweetie?" [M/n] says, and [Y/n] looks up at him.
[Y/n] looks down blushing, he mother chuckled. "Was there someone, who stood up for you?" She asks, and [Y/n] looks at her mother and blushes.
"N-No.." [Y/n] says, nervously. Her mother giggles, as she scrubs her back.
"What's their name?" She asks, [Y/n] looks up at her and looks down.
"M-Mamoru.." {y/n} says, blushing looking down making a pouty face.
"Oh, Mamoru.. Maybe we should invite his family over for dinner." [m/n] says, causing y/n to shake her head.
"Ah, but I'm sure the two of you would be cute." she says, and y/n splashed water in her mothers face causing her to stop talking she, looks at y/n.
Who yelps, [M/n] then splashes water into her daughter's face, causing her to giggle and laugh. That was the day before, Mamoru lost his parents losing his memories in the process.
[Y/n] never saw him, again after that.
[ ended ] ......
[Y/n] sighed, as she ate breakfast, she sits at her table drinking some coffee. Atlas, walks over towards her and jumps up onto the table,
"Today, we must find out the identity of Sailor Moon and work with her." He says, and she groans and rolls her eyes, setting her coffee back onto the table.
"Atlas, listen to me. I still have things I need to do in the morning like today, I have to go to my university for school. Since I called off for today, being an assistant teacher. And I need to go grocery shopping, I'll try to fit in in okay." She says, taking a sip of her coffee.
She stands up, and yelps in pain as her side accidentally hits the table. She places her hand, on her side. And groans, Atlas looks at her worried. "Are you okay?" He asks, and she simply nods.
"Yeah, just a bit scuffed up from last night." She says, looking down grabbing the dishes off the table and, putting on her shoes. And was about to leave her apartment, she hears that voice again.
'You're the only one for me, my star.'
She sighs, leaving the apartment leaving Atlas there alone. She walks down the hallway to the elevator, and sighs
[Y/n} smiles, as she looks at Mamoru, "Yeah, my day to day life is always busy." She says, looking down, groaning a bit. She looks back up at him, "But, I do my best to work hard." She says, taking a sip of her drink.
"I actually graduated high school, when I was 14."  She says, looking down nervously.
"Wow really?" He asks, and she looks up at him and nods.
"Yeah, a-after I lost my mom. I was a complete wreck, I was depressed. I was in an accident later, and lost most of my memory. I barely remembered my mom, and when I do remember her its, all false and jumbled up. So to not be a burden, I wanted to be left alone, so instead of talking to anyone. I dedicated myself to studying, I worked my butt off." She says,  looking down.
"I'm sorry to hear that." He says, looking at her sadly and, she shakes her head.
"N-No it's okay. I happened so long ago I really try not to remember much, about her cause.... When I do, I just.." She shakes her head, and smiles at Mamoru.
"Nevermind." She says, sighing looking down at the ground, she then looks up and sees a crumpled up piece of paper hit Mamoru on the head.
He grabs it, and looks up and sees Usagi. "Hey! You, Bun-head! i'm not a trash can you know." He says, to her and [Y/n] just stands there, trying to hold back her laughter.
"Ah! Ohh, you're that guy from before." Usagi says, in shock looking at him.
"Hello, Ms.Tsukino." [Y/n] says, to Usagi, who was holding a black cat, Luna. Who looked at the girl curiously, Usagi looks at [Y/n].
"O-oh, Ms.Y/n! I-I didn't see you at school today." Usagi says, to her. And [Y/n] simply smiles,
"Yeah, I-I wasn't feeling well, and I-I had personal issues to attend to but. But don't worry I'll be back tomorrow." [Y/n] says, smiling at her.
"Wait, the two of you know each-other." Mamoru asks, and [Y/n] nods at him.
"Yep, I'm an assistant teacher in her class." She says, to him.
"oh, that's good. Then Bun-head can get more help." He says, and  Usagi growls. [Y/n] chuckles, a bit at this.
"My name! isn't bun-head." Usagi shouts, walking away mumbling to herself while holding onto Luna.
"Usagi? Who was that girl?" Luna asks, looking up at her. Usagi looks down, at Luna.
"Oh, that's the assistant teacher in my class. Her name is Y/n L/n." She says, as she walks towards the Crystal Seminar to investigate more about Ami.
"Thanks for today, Mamoru I enjoyed talking to you." [Y/n] says, bowing at him.
"your welcome, I'm happy I got to know a bit more about you." He says, causing her to look down and blush. She looks back towards her, university gate.
"W-Well see you later." She says, as she walks into her university campus.
[Time Skip] brought to you by laziness/ and sailor moon already finding sailor mercury cause my dumbass is too lazy to write it....
[Y/n] sighs, as she makes her way back home to her apartment. As she did, she felt as if someone was following her. So she turned around, and saw Usagi's cat following her.
"Aren't you, Usagi's cat." She says, looking at it curiously she sees the crescent moon shape on its forehead as well.
"Hmm, you have the same crescent moon shape that Atlas does." She says, curiously. She bends down, and gets a closer look at it.
"If your Usagi's cat, and you have a crescent moon shape on your head. Then..." She gasps, thinking about it and putting two and two together. She looks down at the cat,
"She must be Sailor Moon." She says, quietly. The cat looks at her in shock, and speaks.
"You're smarter than I thought.." Luna says, and [Y/n] smiles at her and shrugs her shoulders.
"Well, I guessed it wasn't that hard. To think about-..Wait..what is that supposed to mean!" She shouts, looking down at Luna.
"Listen, we've already found Sailor Mercury, Ami Mizuno. And no we found you, Sailor Luna.. We must find the other Sailor Guardians and our lost princesses." Luna says, to Y/n who sighs and rolls her eyes.
"I know, I know." She says, looking down.
"We need all the help we can get." Luna says, to her and [Y/n] nods, sighing.
"Alright, I'll help find the Sailor Guardians. After school tomorrow." She says, and Luna nods. Making her way, back to Usagi's house. [Y/n] sighs, and makes her way back home to her apartment. As she walks into the elevator, and bumps into the side bars.
She yelps, in pain. "D-damn it, I forgot about that." She says, groaning placing her hand on her side. She pushes, the button for her level. And stands there, waiting for it to go up. Once she arrives, on her floor she steps off. And walks towards her apartment, but not of course before bumping into Mamoru.
Causing her to groan, holding onto her still bruised side, He turns around and sees her holding her side.
"Whoa, are you okay?" He asks, her and she looks up at him and nods.
"Y-Yeah, I bumped into a corner in my apartment and it gave me a bruise. Don't worry I'm fine." She says, lying. It hurt like hell, she wasn't fine everytime she moved it hurt so much. She moves passed him, and towards her apartment.
She walks in and throws, her bag onto the counter and sits on her couch. And groans, she looks down at the wound, that seemed to be getting worse and worse. It was never going to heal, if she kept bumping into people. As she looked at the bruise a memory came back, one she wanted to forget.
She was adopted into a family, who were abusive really abusive. She doesn't talk to them anymore, but the memories of them still haunt her to this very day. She made her way to her bedroom, and laid down on her bed tired and exhausted. She yawns,  as she closes her eyes and falls asleep.
'Please you, must keep it a secret.'
'I love him so much, and I know it's forbidden.'
'What if he's using you?'
The faceless girl shakes her head, and looks at the girl in front of her.
'That's not like him, he'd never do anything like that. He loves me, I can see it in his eyes.'
'But...I'm worried about you. I don't want to see you hurt.'
The girl takes, the other girls hands into hers and smiles.
'You won't he promises to protect me.'
'He asked me to be his princess.'
'What?!'
The girl nods, smiling excitedly.
'I said yes!"
"I love him so much.' the girl sighs, looking up at the stars.
"My...''
[Y/n] wakes up and, groans. She sits up in her bed and, looks out the window. She sighs and, stands up. Walking towards the bathroom, she takes off her clothes and, gets into the shower. As she washes, she looks down and, notices that the bruise is gone.
"What!" She shouts, in shock looking down at her side. Seeing that it was gone...
[Time-Skip] after finding Sailor Mars Rei im a lazy ass bitch bitch bitch and to the ball for princess D
{Y/n's Ball Dress]
[Y/n] gasps, as someone bumps into her spilling wine all over it.
"Oh, excuse me." The lady says, and [Y/n] looks at the dress. She quickly tries to find the nearest bathroom,  but she couldn't find one. She looks down, at the dress her mother left her. The one time she wears it, it gets ruined.
"My pretty young princess." She heard a voice say, then she was suddenly pulled into someone embrace, it was Tuxedo Mask. She gasped, in shock as the two began to dance,
"would you honor me with one dance?" He says, she looks at him in shock. No way Tuxedo Mask could be here, this must be some dream. She smiles at him, and stares into his eyes.

Let Me Hear You Say
part 46: Joshua’s Weeb Closet. (46/50)
red below 👇 (1.5k words)
“You know I can break out of this, right?” you say to Mingyu who is currently holding you down. He just scoffs knowing you can't move anywhere, but entertains you, “I know, it just makes me feel strong”
“You already strong, Gyu. Anyways where is everyone?” Seokmin asks. You look around the room only seeing half of your friends in Seungcheol’s small living room. Seungkwan and Wonwoo are sitting on the couch quietly talking. You wonder how they became friends because you've never seen them talk to each other. You assume Jeonghan and Joshua are probably somewhere making out so they don't have to deal with actually setting up the party. Seungcheol and Jihoon seem to be lecturing Chan about who knows what. Things are finally quieting down when everyone decides to watch the movie that's playing until someone bursts through the doors, “I'm here motherfuckers. The party is finally getting started”
“She drunk, isn't she,” Cheol asks as he points towards the small blonde girl in Mina’s arms. Seoyeon nods as she brings Chaeyoung to one of the rooms in the apartment. When she comes back, everyone turns towards the commotion at the front door. “You can't make me go inside. I'll bite you, you know I will”
“Soonyoung, if you just go inside, it'll make everything so much easier,” Jun says as he continues to try and push the smaller boy in. Everyone just watches him, Minghao, and Vernon struggle to bring Soonyoung in until Cheol eventually just picks him up and holds him down, “You two are gonna talk like two grown adults or I’m firing Jihoon”
“Woah why am I getting involved in this?” Jihoon asks walking over to the rest of the group. Everyone looks confused before Chan talks, “How can you even fire him?”
“Yea and with what job exactly,” Soonyoung says causing Cheol to roll his eyes, “Look if guys talk to each other, I'll tell you where I work”
“One, no one cares. Two, stop lying to yourself, it's okay if you're unemployed. We won't stop loving you just because you don't have a job, Cheollie” you say which only annoys him more. Jihoon confused asks, “Why do you guys really believe he's unemployed? The dude is literally our boss.”
“ ‘Our’ boss?” Seungkwan says, “yes our boss. He's at the building all the time. How did you not know that?”
“To be honest I thought he was just going there to hook up with you, Ji,” Jeonghan says before getting a drink. “Ew, why would I hook up with Cheol? He's like my brother. That would just ruin your friendship.”
“And that is exactly why I’m not admitting my feelings for Y/n!” Soonyoung screams before trying to run away but failing as Cheol is still holding him down. You decide yelling back is the best option, “like I would ever admit my feelings for you.”
“That’s it! Time out for you two until you can figure out your issues. Bring them to Shua’s weeb closet and don’t let them out until they're cool with each other.” Cheol says before lifting Soonyoung. Mingyu sees the message Cheol sends and brings you to Joshua’s room as well. “Hey hey, why are you taking them to my closet? What if they fuck in there?”
“Then they'll be happy again,” Vernon says with a smile on his face. Shua rolls his eyes before giving in. Eventually, you and Soonyoung are both shoved into the small closet. You try to stay as far as you can from him, putting a blowup titan in between the two of you. To ease the awkwardness after a few minutes of silence, Soonyoung asks, “You think Shua uses this thing as a sex doll?”
“If he does, I regret touching it,” you reply. The boy beside you laughs and says, “If I remember correctly, you and Joshua sleeping together for a whole two years after college, right?”
“Yeah well, it was kinda weird. Let's just say, you aren't the only furry in our friend group.” This makes him laugh again before finding a place to sit down. You take a seat beside him as he leans his head on your shoulder, “I’m sorry, Y/n.”
“For what exactly, Soonie?” You ask back wanting a better explanation than just a small sorry. He rolls his eyes before saying, “You already know why. For being immature and not dealing with things like an adult.”
“To be honest, none of us deal with things like adults. We're just the worst. I guess I’m sorry too.” you say back to him. The two sit comfortably in silence just relaxing in each other’s company. Why did we make things so hard for no reason? you wonder. That thought quickly goes away when you remember that the two of you are friends and you never want to ruin that, but your thoughts are interrupted, “I love you, Y/n. But I mean even if it's pretty obvious, I know I'm not very good at showing it.”
“But we're friends, Soon,” you say back before walking to the other side of the closet. You glance at his face for a second and see a bit of hurt in his eyes. Why am I still hiding how I feel? What’s the point of lying to myself and everyone else? You ask yourself before he breaks your thoughts once again, “Y/n, you say that, but then you're willing to fight with me for months because of the whole situation. Why are we just continuing to do this to each other?”
“I don't know, Soon. I really don't know,” you reply, overwhelmed, burying your face into your hands. He walks behind you and gives one of his famous, familiar back hugs to comfort you. You relax into the hug as he softly kisses your shoulder, “it's okay, Y/n. You don't need to have an answer right now. It's not wrong to want to take everything at your own pace. I just don't want to feel like I have to constantly avoid you because like you said, you are my best friend.“
“Are you trying to say ‘the power of friendship is so strong’ that we can get through things like this?” you sarcastically say as you laugh and lean into his arms. He giggles and replies, “That's exactly what I’m saying.” The two of you once again sit in silence. You take in everything from the moment you first saw Soonyoung as a small boy eating dirt in the playground to this exact moment You wonder when everything changed, “When did you realize you loved me, Soon?”
“There isn't an exact moment. I think just over time my love constantly grew for you. I didn't realize it at first and never really wanted to accept it because, well I'm pretty sure it's obvious why,” he responds. You feel the same way. You've always just told yourself it was because of that dance, but you know those feelings have always been there. More importantly, you know you've acted on those feelings before. “Why did you leave me after graduation? After I told you I love you?”
“Because I was stupid and a coward. I got jealous of Joshua, but then I started to think I wasn't as good as him. I wouldn't be good enough like him. I thought I wouldn't be able to make you happy like he would, ” he says honestly. You don't understand how he could ever think he wasn't good enough. You loved everything about the kid, from his weird tiger obsession to his incredible dance skills. “Soonie, you know I never believed you weren't good enough. And to be honest, Shua wasn't the greatest boyfriend. He was an amazing friend, but there's something off about knowing your boyfriend is denying his feelings for someone else”
“I guess that's how Seoyeon felt. It was just seeing you in the arms of a model like him brought up my insecurities I guess. I thought it would be too hard to compete. So I ran away because I didn't want to deal with the feelings, ” he explains still holding you in his arms. You feel how much bigger his arms got over the years and decide to ask him another question, “When did you start working out? Not that I'm complaining, but the last time Cheol asked you to work out with him you called him a loser and told him there's no reason to work out when you have a cute face.”
“Yes, my face is adorable, but I figured I'd just work out because why not. Also, Ji paid for a year's gym membership in China by accident,” he answers while softly laughing. The two of you continue to talk about random things for the next few hours without anyone interrupting you. You hear soft snoring on the other side of the door. Soonyoung quietly opens the door to not wake the sleeping person on the other side. You walk out to see Seungcheol and Wonwoo fast asleep on each other and quickly take a photo before sneaking away. You and Soonyoung decide to leave through the window to avoid questions or stares from anyone else. For the rest of the night, the two of you wonder who knows where and finally you feel happy to be with your best friend for once.
