Okay before we get into it, let me specify that this is meant to be a platonic piece, but can be read as romantic if wanted.

I really do like the thought that saiki always imagines himself happier in certainnscenarios, especially if it's something he wants. And i just HC that he really does want physical affection but doesnt know how to initiate or ask for it. So he mostly just gets it from Nendou.

as apathetic as saiki aims to be, i find him to be the most caring and kind person in the entire show (and in general). i was just rewatching s1ep6 and actually cried from how genuinely sweet he is. i think god knew that he was the only person in the world who would really never misuse his powers. even without them, i think he would be a wonderful friend.

Saiki can handle the kitchen alone because of his powers, but this also means that akechi and him can't hire anyone and both of them aren't great with customer service (Akechi's word vomits and saiki not being social) . BUT when kaidou and Aren are going to be in the area for awhile they need jobs, and sense they know saiki's powers (post power reveal) they work there sometimes (like when they are staying in the area for awhile).

Also I think the bakery name would be something psychic themed like "PSI Cakes" or something

-when you find out about arens motorcycle license, you’re excited as hell. And you want to ride around with him! And obviously he’s just as excited about it. He got the two of you cool matching helmets and he’ll give you a ride to all sorts of places on his motorbike. 

-he’d also tell you a lot about motorbikes on your rides as well, and definitely encourages you to get your license too!

-when he first started attending pk and found it difficult to resist picking fights or having an attitude, he’d simply look to you. Something about you soothed him instantly. He also hated seeing the confused and shocked look on your face when he’d act aggressive with others, so he tries to avoid it at all costs simply for you.

-this was before the two of you started dating or were even fully friends! From the very first day he met you, he thought you were kind and even pretty cool from the way you carried and defended yourself from some of the weird characters he encountered at school. 

-as the two of you slowly became friends, you helped him adjust to his new lifestyle and taught him about traditional teenager things he had never experienced, teaching him how to blend in more. 

-is surprisingly smooth. he’s not entirely clueless, and has surprised you with sweet romantic gestures such as buying you flowers and taking you out to cafes.

-sometimes will randomly drop some absurd detail about his past life as a delinquent that leaves you in shock (ever heard of dad lore? Its similar to that.)

-An insane artist, and so the first couple of times youve seen him sketching you’re in awe 

-you’d probably ask to keep one, and he’d smile and say “what? That’s nothing! Let me draw you something for real.” 

-(in his early crushing stage, he'd probably subconsciously draw corny doodles like little hearts and stars)

-always wanting to do something with you or for you. If there’s something you’re interested in, he’s gonna be there alongside you immersing himself in it

-dates are both planned and spontaneous! sometimes its just a chill night in or out, and sometimes you like to treat each other by doing something that the other likes or mentioned wanting to do

-was very nervous in the beginning stages of your relationship, and admittedly still gets shy whenever your relationship progresses.

-he’s a bit overdramatic when he first hears that you like him, going so far as to start imagining a family with you (cough like in s2 HAHA)

-but the two of you don’t rush anything and frequently communicate. sometimes the two of you will bicker but that's typically the farthest "fights" go. and most of the time they're pretty amusing.

-also like in s2, has the intention of marrying you in the future, but obviously doesn’t rush it like he did in his head before. he’s in no hurry, but he keeps the thought in the back of his head.

-not the biggest on pda but isn’t strictly against it either. he loves to hold your hand and does so whenever he can

-physical intimacy such as cuddling takes him a little while to get used to, unfamiliar with it all, but learns to adjust in a really short amount of time since it's you, and he would never want to make you uncomfortable. 

-(is a bit embarrassed and confused when learning to adjust though.) 

-big matcher of enthusiasm. When you’re excited about something, so is he, and vice versa. 

-a not so subtle flexer. He doesn’t always intentionally go out of his way to impress, but his skills like drawing and cooking definitely leave him a little surprised and flustered when you compliment him on them

-cooking sessions are not uncommon, especially when the two of you visit each others houses. aren is usually the one who directs and compliments you on your skill and/or kindly shows you how to do something you're unfamiliar with

-absolutely defends you with his life (both literally and not). Seriously does not tolerate any disrespect toward you

-consistently works on himself for you, determined to improve bad habits and detach from his past for a happy present (and hopefully future) with you.

Notes on Cleo´s Hermitcraft stream from 29.9.2024, ft. the tale of the return of Glados and hanging out with Hermits, including the first round of Hermit poker.

Glados is back!! Cleo´s RL cat that has been missing for 11 days but now she´s back! \o/

There´s arms at the bottom of the screen and all you can see of chat is “bomb strapped to your” ^^

Cub comes by to buy powdered snow from Skizz and Cleo guesses that there´s something beneath the lava (and there is: discounted powdered snow.)

Plan for this stream: find a calico cat and name it Glados

Cleo goes to ask Scar if he has a calico cat, but someone plays Cleowo voice and Cleo refuses to talk to him in that voice, especially since Doc is also there.

Next visit to check out Scar´s cats: Scar and Doc are talking about Scar´s travel drama on a bridge, Cleo watches for a few moments and then leaves again. Scar has zero observational skills.

Cleo goes to visit villages to find a calico cat, but only finds other cats, including several Atlas (orange) cats.

Surprise attack on Scar! Poor Scar is startled and then sounds very scared ^^

Scar is horrified by the story of Cleo losing Glados. He checks but he doesn´t have a calico cat, but immediately tries to sell Cleo other animals. Not the skeleton horse though, he´s kinda security.

Scar shows Cleo the oil paintings he did and put in Minecraft, they are very pretty.

Scar is so excited to show Cleo the armor stand work he did in his caboose! Unfortunately Cleo doesn´t have the 3D bookshelf texture pack but they look on his stream and are delighted. They tell Scar he should bring it up at the meeting so that everybody has that texture pack. Everybody is getting into armor stands now, everybody is going to want that.

Scar reports it takes Etho twenty minutes to send a screenshot.

Cleo doesn´t recognize an ominous potion – or know what it is. Scar knows that it´s what you use to activate raids now. Cleo doesn´t think anyone needs raids.

Cleo is delighted by Scar´s multiverse hat stand. They both mourn that they couldn´t play more on Pirates SMP, Scar because his life was very busy and Cleo because their game kept crashing. Back in season 6 both Scar and Cleo did pirate-related things on Hermitcraft but never together: they were much less social, also because they didn´t have the voice mod back then. Scar will do Star Wars in season eleven, Cleo says they´re down to do pirates together in season twelve. Scar shows off his golden Scarland ticket, Cleo says they never got one and Scar promises to deliver one.

Cub shows up and announces himself with several funny horns ft. Scar and Etho. He needs a break from building. Scar understands, and Cleo agrees that when they are bored they come see Scar.

Cleo is tricked into trying out Scar´s dragon shooter, and then admires his telescope, even though it blinks and is unsettling.

Cleo shows Scar and Cub the tiny Joe, Ren, and Scar she put into False´s base. The prize for False finding all of them will be Cleo putting more in her base.

Cleo hasn´t made it across in Frogger yet. Scar offers to pay for their run. Cleo says that´s not necessary. They´ll get there eventually, and they don´t need Scar´s pity. Scar and Cub are probably richer than Cleo but that´s probably it. Scar says he spent a lot of money recently. Yeah, for example in Cleo´s what shop, Cleo says and adds she just restocked it.

Scar immediately flies off to where the entrance to Dodgy Frank´s Hay Deals was blocked off with obsidian. It´s an illegal tunnel!, says Scar, only to admit a few seconds later that he did buy wheat from the impounded shop. But Cleo can´t restock because it´s an illegal shop! Cub says they have to take Cleo down.

Cleo says not right now, they´re going to do a bit first with the tunnel thing and the blowing-up threat. Scar says if the obsidian block is removed Skizz gave him the go-ahead for the TNT, and is then disappointed Cleo didn´t react with the appropriate shock and horror. Cleo obligingly displays appropriate shock and horror. “Oh no, Scar, don´t do this to me, I don´t have any plans for how to get back at you at all! I can´t at all make your shops completely unusable.” Cub points out Cleo is talking to a person with infinite gravel. Cleo: “Yeah but you´re also talking to a person who can just make chests stop working.” Scar: “What?” Cleo: “Oh, you wanna try me Scar? […] You know me, I make very idle threats, I can´t back up anything I say, ever. […] Don´t believe me, Scar, it´ll be fine, there won´t be any consequences.”

Cub is very skeptical. Cleo agrees that Cub has looked through them, nothing is going to happen. Scar is unsure.

Scar shows off Mr Finnegan on his stream. Cleo doesn´t want to aww over another kitty in front of her own, calls Mr Finnegan an adequate boy. Some more cat talk.

Some talk about how cool some of the art is fans make for Hermitcraft, like an interactive Grumbot and a 3D-printed Gem base. They mention their clips that showed up in Minecraft live: Scar is disappointed they didn´t use the one of the Scarland volcano.

Cleo and Scar are both not dog people. Scar is worried dogs want to murder him ever since he´s in a wheelchair. Cleo understands the desire to murder him sometimes.

Etho, who logged in a few minutes ago, appears in the distance. Cub immediately starts shooting him and Cleo encourages him. Scar and Cleo agree that Etho has a tiny head.

Etho says that whenever he comes on the server people are just standing around, and then he comes back and amazing stuff was built, when does this work actually get done? Scar and Cleo wonder what he means, maybe he was surprised by an older building.

Cleo asks Etho about the heads he told her she could have from Frogger and they go visit the game. Etho saw that Cleo tried and didn´t do too badly. Cleo says they did swear at him. Etho giggles.

Scar is about the tenth person saying that if Gem actually tried she´d get a higher score than 4.

Etho says the game will be reset the next day, scores will be reset, it´ll be easier for beginners and harder for those who know the patterns. It´ll still require reaction speed. Cleo says they´re bad at that, Ethos says they can practice while playing the game. Cleo: “I feel like you know me so well and yet so little.”

Bdubs logs on and says he´s going to do a run. Scar asks about a gift shop, Etho says he´d love that but it´s beyond him. Scar asks if he can use the frog coins as a slime shop, Etho asks what the Poe Poe says, Scar asks what the Permit Manager thinks, Cub was distracted.

Like dogs that wag their tails when excited, Bdubs does the wiggle flight when he´s excited.

Etho shows Cleo his secret entrance to where he stores the heads. Cleo: “You´re my favorite. Thank you!” Etho: “Aha. Yip yip.” (So many Jevin heads in there!)

Bdubs and Scar do Frogger runs and explain their techniques.

Docm77 shows up just to watch, he got a DM that they´re all over at Decked, uh, Frogged Out. He doesn´t want to compete with the crazy high scores. Cleo says he can just not care about the score, Doc says he doesn´t understand.

Scar pays for Doc to do a run. Cleo hands out Pina Coladas. Cub suggests averaging the scores by attempts. Etho says either Joel or Pearl would probably win in that case.

Doc: “Cleo I need your help with my gentlemen´s club.” Cleo: “…yes Doc?” Etho: “That sounded really wrong, Doc, I´m just saying. What kinda work do you want her doing there…”  While the others crack up, Doc is confused. He explains he was thinking of a club like the one he visited with Guude in London once, a posh bar with all the gins of the world. Bdubs explains that “it´s got kind of a different connotation as well, something with poles and stuff.” Cleo is wheezing and coughing. Doc: “Poles? What, you mean people from Poland?” Bdubs: “Yes, that´s it.”

Bdubs ask if they can play Doc´s poker game. Doc says in theory yes but he wanted to go to bed soon. Nobody accepts that excuse. Hermits after dark, let´s have some fun! Etho: “Round of mini pizza, let´s keep this night going!”

They go visit Doc´s “laundromat.” Scar asks what this pipe is. Etho, in a throwback to a recent stream where Doc kept saying “if you´d watched Etho´s episode…”, “well if you had watched Docm´s episode…”  Scar: “You guys are the biggest fffangirls of each other I have ever seen in my life.”

Doc says he knows what he´s talking about because on Twitter Notch agreed with him with how lackluster he finds the new mob. Cleo says that´s really embarrassing for him. Doc says he doesn´t want to be dragged into anything Notch-related. Scar asks what happened. Doc: “Okay let´s play Poker.”

Scar says he always misses anything. Cleo says it´s because he has ADHD.

Doc blames the low views on his new video on Gem´s vlog and the new Imp&Skizz episode with multiple episodes. Scar and Etho joke that people will have to keep watching if they want to see season 11.

Cleo doesn´t have what they need to make a sign: “I have haybales and Tango heads but I don´t have wood.”

Doc explains how the game works. Etho at some point yet again: “If you had watched Docm´s episode you´d know…” Cleo: “Etho I don´t even watch your episodes, shut up.” Bdubs: “Oh…”

Cleo, with a pair of sixes: “My chat is telling me to go all in, so… I don´t know what that means.” Cleo is lying. They are good at this, they keep saying “chat´s telling me to do this” and pretending they don´t know how the game works. It´s very convenient to be so rich that you don´t need to worry about losing.

At some point, Bdubs to Cleo, aggravated: “You´re not supposed to show emotions!” ^^

Cleo raises another twenty diamonds. Etho: “Are you walking out of here with pants?”

Cleo ends up narrowly losing to Bdubs and losing a stack of diamonds, but it´s fine. “Yeah of course I was playing with a bad hand, do you know me?” Points out that they bluffed everybody except Bdubs, who knows them too well. They say goodbye and leave, and then spend another twenty minutes or so saying goodbye to chat.

not to even.. mention kusuke. kusuo tries to keep him away from him at all times, and it succeeds less than half the time. hes not that terrible to him (surprisingly to kusuo) but its kind of an amped of version of how he treated teruhashi. he thinks this guy is totally unworthy of his baby brother and is a dick to him, but hes also very aware that not only was this guy a gang leader (which he may or may not use against him later by telling kurumi or something) and could beat the shit out of him when he doesnt have access to a lot of his tech, but also this is kusuos first love and he would definitely kill for him☠️(plus he already knows to be more wary of kusuos nuisances since learning terus true power☠️)

but anyway, they all warm up to aren eventually.. its prob surprisingly quick for kumagoro because this is like the absolute most hes gotten to see his grandson smile.. ever

Reading your mind and exposing your lee mood? Ohoho, Saiki would definitely do that to Teruhashi. Nobody would ever believe that Teruhashi, the perfect pretty girl, gets lee moods. Except Saiki. So he takes it upon himself to help her because no one else will. I think he gaslights her into thinking it was all a dream after the fact but, hey, she’s less troublesome when she’s genuinely smiling and letting loose. And it’s endlessly embarrassing for Teruhashi to have her crush see her in such a state, so believing it’s a dream is a lot less humiliating for her. But having a dream about her crush tkling her while being in a lee mood is also embarrassing!!!!! How could she let her composure slip like that!?!???! Meanwhile Saiki’s just glad he doesn’t have to listen to her tkl-filled thoughts anymore (excuses).

When he has to tkl someone, he prefers to use his powers rather than do it himself. Either by psychically touching them or giving another person the sudden impulse to tkl them. Or he’ll project a vivid fantasy of being tkled into their head but only when he wants to be mean. He would probably pull that trick on Toritsuka when he gets fed up with him, but he also knows Tori kinda likes the attention and fully uses that info to his advantage. I don’t think he would resort to revenge tkls very often unless he knows that’s what the person wants (i.e. Annoyance #X keeps tkling him bc they want to be tkled back so fine. Saiki will give them what they want evil grin).

I think as a child Akechi would often ask to be tkled and, since Saiki was more open back then, he’d happily oblige. That’s the reason Saiki knows of so many ways to use his powers for tkly intent, and when Akechi reunites with him he would recognize Saiki’s methods and call him out on it, to Saiki’s chagrin. Tkl fights between the two of them aren’t as frequent as they once were but they crop up occasionally, and Saiki finds that he does still kinda enjoy seeing his friend laugh and be so bubbly or whatever. So when Akechi asks to be tkled Saiki goes along with it, for old times’ sake.

THATS SO LOVELY, i know you didnt ask but.. im going to take this opportunity to talk a little about my stance on kubosai and saiki's sexuality.. i mean i have talked about it multiple times but still, lots of people dont see what i see in these things sooo im gonna keep talking about it lol..

i still see saiki as aroace personally !! just not romance repulsed aroace, rather just on the aroace spectrum.. i think hes the type of person to use 'queer' and 'aroace' as umbrella terms for himself instead of caring about specific labels, but if i had to, i would say he fits best with demi based on my interpretation.. (i usually see him as with no preference, but based on the text its easy to see him as having a preference for men too..)

i do get why people would see him as romance repulsed and its a lovely hc, but i see saiki as mlm, at least in the way i interpreted it.. i mean, he almost straight up says he has a crush on satou in the manga.. its great if people interpret it as a 'squish,' but i personally dont see that,, he kinda blatantly threw them in a romance chart together, blushes every time he sees him, etc. HOWEVER aroace people who relate in some way and project their experiences onto saiki will ALWAYS be valid, so i dont care !! i literally do that lmfao im an aroace lesbian,,

anyway, saiki has a lot of silly tsundere moments that lots of people who dont really look at the show past surface level (and usually dont read the manga) see as him literally hating his friends, family, romance, etc when its very much shown how hes being a tsundere and he LOVES his friends, family, AND romance.. (canonically loves romance not as in he definitely experiences romantic attraction, but as in he just is weirdly into love stories and such but wont admit it lmao, i talk about that chapter where he gets obsessed with those strangers love story he saw with psychometry but its just so good lol..) so i think that misinterpretation is where a lot of the discourse in this fandom comes from, like people who think he GENUINELY hates teruhashi ? they r literally best friends he cares about her so much..

kubosai is a ship i started loving, not really from seeing their canon interactions, but from analyzing the characters in the manga and seeing who i think would actually fit together and have a good dynamic..

im very weak for characters who are ashamed of their dark past, afraid of their own strength and that they might hurt the people they love, scared to tell their loved ones their secrets, etc.. and kuboyasu and saiki fit the bill perfectly, so i looked at them and immediately thought BOOM what if they were in love..

their dynamic is fun, even though we didnt get a lot of canon interactions.. theyre so similar yet SO different at the same time..

they both have pretty tragic pasts and family lives, both VERY protective of their friends and family and would do anything for them, both have bad coping mechanisms (mostly refusing to acknowledge that anything is really wrong at all), etc.. and yet, theyre almost opposites in the way they actually carry themselves..

saiki appears apathetic at all times in front of others even though his internal monologue or how he expresses himself when hes alone can be really emotional.. kuboyasu is pretty happy all the time even though he has pretty thinly veiled anger about half the time..

kuboyasu is just a human boy who was taught to take up as much space as possible for his survival, defend himself with his fists, honesty and loyalty and trust are essential, etc, while saiki is an almost-god whose upbringing taught him to try his best to take up NO space at all for his survival, dont get involved unless its from afar, dont get close with anyone, dont trust anyone, etc..

saiki prefers to protect his people from in the shadows, going as far as to literally stalk them to make sure theyre okay without their knowledge, while kuboyasu is unafraid to show how much he cares and prefers to literally come out swinging to protect his people.. put them together and you get two silly guys who will literally protect the other with their life despite knowing damn well that theyre both fully capable of protecting themselves..

kuboyasu is also like.. one of the only people in the cast other than saiki who can be like.. a voice of reason sometimes.. he would be so good for saiki and would make damn sure he knows when hes being irrational or dramatic (because cmon, its saiki.. hes such a drama queen all the damn time..) and i just think he needs that in his life..

yasu would reign saiki in when it comes to his everyday dramatics, and in turn saiki would reign yasu in when it comes to his over the top romance standards (and probably his anger issues and overreactions too..) and yet at the same time they would take comfort in each others silliness.. saiki may be like "we cant just drop out and get married, thats not how it works" but isnt it so refreshing for him to have someone that cares about him so unconditionally ?? unlike his own family ?? itd scare him at first, but hed make yasu tone it down to a healthier extent and itd become soo comfortable..
