Every time I come across @/mickules posts with Takaaki I am reminded how friggen tall he is… add Taka having Celeste’s height, and they’re just. wow. Also Taka did nothing wrong, Mondo made an innuendo not knowing Takaaki was in hearing range. (If he did know he wouldn’t say anything that wasn’t polite bc demon cop scary)

Hi sorry I died for a while but I've been waiting for my computer to be fixed so I can draw pretty stuff again (yes it's taken like 6 months). Now please consider my thoughts on what animals different danganronpa characters would be

I tried to make sure there weren't any duplicates unless the characters are related and some of these I've put more thought into lol

Yasuhiro is a goat but like the fainting ones because it sounds funny and I can see him freezing up and falling over.

Junko and ikusaba are both chihuahuas because they're super cute but stereotypically people say they're little demons and that fits junko, she seems innocent but is just a big meanie. And I see ikusaba as being like a buff chihuahua who's all awkward but could eat you alive.

Makoto and Komaru are ferrets, ferrets need other ferrets for inrichment and that's basically makoto he wants friends to be happy. Also I think ferrets are very silly, I have 4 named noodle, little man, chonk, and rebel (like Starbuck).

Kyoko is a cat, I felt like a cat could match many different characters but I believe that she fits a cat the most. Cats are cute but pretty solitary also I think it matches with the fact she isn't very scary compared to some characters (ik she's like mysterious type scary and stone cold but I think she's a cutie).

Fukawa is a skunk bc she's stinky.

Byakuya is a cheetah and I thought about this quite a bit, I had a few different ideas on what to pick but honestly I think since he's blonde he's obviously a cheetah!! Duh!!

Asahina is an otter bc swimming and cute.

Sakura... I had so much trouble deciding this one ommmgg 😭 I was thinking about bigger animals and like martial arts and I was thinking about a gorilla and how they like punch their chests. It's the best I could come up with.

Leon is a weasel because I could see a weasel trying baseball and not liking it very much.

Sayaka is a panda because people love pandas and I could see a panda singing pop music.

Chihiro is a bunny because cute and small, also he's like Judy hops cuz he and her wanna prove they're stronge or smth 💪🏻

Hijumi is a walrus bc his lips kinda look like a walrus and he's chunky like a walrus, I thought of a hamster too but I thought it fit another character better.

Ishimaru I can see being a Labrador dog bc he's a silly little guy. He'd be the dog that barks at flys.

Celeste is a fruit bat bc vampire bat is what she wishes she was so she tries to be scary and goth but she's just a cute fuzz baby.

Nagito is a wolf bc he's literally wolf in sheep's clothing but he's also kinda cute.

Hajime is a panther who doesn't know how to be a panther, he tries to be a house cat.

Teruteru is a mouse bc ratatouille but I wanted him to be a mouse bc they're smaller and I think someone else fits the rat better.

Twogami I was thinking maybe a pig who wears cheetah fur or smth, like he wears the animal skin of what he's imitating.

Pekoyama is a gazelle bc they're coooool.

Mahiru is a red panda cuz they're small and cute and red like her hair

Soda is a rat bc I can imagine him being a sewer rat who smells bad in his silly little jumper.

Sonia is a swan bc they're elegant and pretty like a princess.

Fuyuhiko is a honey badger bc they're not very big but they give 0 fucks abt anything.

Tanaka is a Vulture and everyone's like 'whaaat a vulture taking care of hamsters???? Craaazy he'll eat them' but really he loves his little guys and would never.

Nekomaru is a lion bc team work and big.

Akane is a jaguar bc big and grrrr.

Chiaki is a sugar glider bc tiny and cute.

Saionji is the basilisk bc I can see her Jesus running on water.

Ibuki is a parrot bc caawww and repeating people and singing bird.

Mikan is a possum bc they faint when scared and that's funny haha but also I think they're cute.

Kamukura is a panther but he knows how to be a panther and doesn't wanna be a house cat like Hajime.

Shuichi is a coyote bc he ain't a big wolf but he isn't a tiny dog, he's like in the middle and he's adaptable I'd say.

Kaede is a spider monkey cuz they're like very social but can be aggressive and I think kaede is a more bold but friendly character (ignoring pregame)

Amami is idk!!! I thought about it alot and I stuck with a tortus or a super chill deer.

Maki is like a black mamba cuz they're fast and when I think of an assassin I think of snakes. Also I believe black mambas aren't super aggressive unless bothered and I think this applies to Maki. She isn't aggressive really for no reason she might be sassy sometimes but she isn't gonna throttle you for no reason at all.

Himiko is a dove bc magician.

Kiibo is a chicken bc it made me think of the robot chicken TV channel thing.

Tsumugi is a fox bc cute and pretty but sneaky and will probably give you rabies.

Kirumi is an owl because she seems wise and owls are usually depicted as wise in media.

Ryouma is a poison dart frog bc tiny but will kill you with his tennis balls.

Korekiyo is a giraffe bc tall and lanky.

Tenko is a mongoose and honestly idk why I couldn't think of anything else except maybe that lizard that's like only girls and reproduces asexually so they're all female lizards.

Angie is an African wolf dog bc they work really well when hunting and it would be her little cult of dogs.

Kaito is a border collie bc they're really smart but cute and people always assume they're dumb but they're very smart and everyone says Kaito is dumb but honestly he's gotta be smart to be an astronaut.

Kokichi is a racoon bc he's a trash panda who would also give you rabies.

Miu is a pelican bc she has a big mouth and doesn't shut upppppp!!

Gonta Is an eleghant bc usually elephants are pretty chill and they're suuuuper cute and big.

Ishimaru Kiyotaka Headcanons! (Reposted)

-Knows how to cook and is very good at it! He usually cooks for him and his father a lot in order to make sure Takaaki eats well

-Was horribly bullied and attacked in middle school

-Because of the scandal of his grandfather, the only other place he knew was school because of a lot of people publicly shamed the Ishimaru family, making his family not be able to go many places near their home town

-Has insomnia due to very bad sleep habits from staying up on multiple occasions to finish work

-He has SH scars from his time in middle and growing up in general, his father helped him get through it but he tends to do it now when it gets too much for him, Owada helps out too by showing him replacement ways that won't leave permanent scars on Ishimaru, he's doing much much better now

-Ishimaru is very ironic/hypocritical person because he'll tell people to eat 3 meals a day and get your 8 hours of sleep when he doesn't even do that

↑ (He'll constantly skip meals and stay up but he tries to get on a better schedule; Owada helps since he noticed how poorly his body actually is during the endurance battle between them when Ishimaru passed out.)

-Ishimaru's least favorite love language is gifts of appreciation and touch due to the fact that that's all has been given his life, awards after awards to the point they've gotten meaningless and it's just another thing that takes up space and that every time he's been touch he's ended up hurt so he tends to not wanna be touched.

- Quality time and words of affirmation are his top favorite love languages. He loves hearing kind and affectionate words from another people, especially when a person acknowledges Kiyotaka from being his own person or telling him he's needed here. He's been always compared to his grandfather or other people that he feels like he isn't seen as a person or himself and would be better off being somewhere else to hearing those words really helps him. Also just being around people always brightens Ishimarus day, especially people he cared about. And of course he cries whenever receiving these, who wouldn't?

-Ishimaru doesn't like being touched by anyone without permission, he freaks out when someone randomly touches him. His father is the only exception, sometimes Owada but even he's on a thin line.

-The first time Owada ever saw Ishimaru mad, his first instinct was to hug him since when he, himself, gets mad he tends to break stuff. This resulted in one of the few times Ishimaru punched someone since he thought he was being held down for no reason, and he has repeatedly apologized to Owada and helped him. Now Owada knows to just talk to him instead of hugging him.

-very, VERY, reckless sleeper, he never wakes up in the same place he fell asleep in. He could fall asleep on his bed and wake up on the other end of the room.

-Kiyondo Ishida is a part of him and the roots of Ishimaru's hair will turn white only when he's mad and his eyes will have a faint aura around it.

-He's sensitive to sunlight due to the sheer fact he's so pale and he burns very easily.

-Ishimaru fell in love with Owada when they went out once. Ishimaru was ranting about something and glanced over to Owada, expecting him to be looking at his phone or drink but Owada was looking at Ishimaru, listening. When Ishimaru realized that it shocked him but he soon became red because no one has genuinely listened to him talk/rant so seeing Owada listening to him is what started his spiral of developing a crush on Owada.

-Very expressive through text, often using a lot of exclamation points and faces/emojis such as ":]]" , ":DD" and so on.

-HATES when people spend money on him, will refuse the item until the person gives up or Ishimaru caves in.

-Ouma is Ishimaru's "school kid." Ishimaru takes care of Ouma and helps him with anything but still despises Ouma's actions and behavior but puts up with it since he can't say much since he's literally dating a gang leader that's been to jail before.

Taka’s heart pounded harshly against his rib cage. His breath was staggering as his hand tightened around the ornament he had in his hand. He didn’t know what it was, he just grabbed the heaviest object that he could get in seconds. All he could see was a tiny slit between the wardrobe doors from where he was hidden. He didn’t know what was going on. All that he knew was that the night was peaceful enough. He was studying while his father was having a meeting with some of his colleagues. Taka didn’t want to be in the business, and his father respected that, so that was why he wasn’t part of the meeting as well. Next thing that he knew was that there was the sound of fighting. He peaked downstairs but immediately retreated back to his room when he saw that there were…not so good people in his house. He wanted to help, but one look from his dad sent him away to get somewhere safe.

The house grew almost silent after all that. There was still screaming, but Taka recognised each voice as his father’s associates. He hadn’t heard his dad’s voice. That had to be something right?

Taka’s train of thought was gone when the door handle was heard being rattled. He had locked the door when he started to hide. Maybe the person on the other side will just go away? Or maybe it’ll be his dad saying that everything was okay now and he can stop hiding?

So much for wishful thinking.

Suddenly the locked door to his room was kicked open. Splinters flew as the door hung off of one of its hinges. Taka screwed his eyes shut automatically. He tried to get his breathing under control but had to resort to holding it instead. He heard the intruder walking into his room. He heard them looking around, moving his textbooks on his desk. They seemed to be standing there for a while. Taka kept his eyes closed as the person started walking around again. The footsteps stopped abruptly. It didn’t sound like they left the room at all. Taka opened his eyes, only to be met with a lilac one meeting his red ones.

Fight or flight response kicked in. As soon as the door opened, Taka launched back his hand that held the ornament. He was going to at least hinder the intruder. However, his arm was grabbed. The next thing that he knew was that he was flown through the air. He hit a wall harshly. The shock of the impact was enough to knock him out.

Mondo didn’t need to think about who it was that tired to attack him. He had heard about the Ishimarus having only one kid in the bloodline. When he realised that the meeting was one person short, he decided to look for the kid, leaving everything else to the gang. He didn’t think that this kid was that weak. Only one hit and already he was passed out. He even tried hiding instead of fighting like a man. He didn’t even have any weapons on him. Just some useless ornament or something. Pathetic. He expected better. This family were Vampire Hunters, killed many of his kind before. How can a family that strong have an heir this useless? After wiping some blood off of his face with a sleeve, Mondo had a closer look at the Ishimaru. Pale skin, spiky black hair. Nothing that special. Even unconscious, the kid had a frown on his face. If he truly inherited Takaaki’s looks, that’ll be a permanent thing.

Deciding to get this over with, and with a bit of effort, Mondo slung the unconscious form onto his shoulder. He honestly thought that Ishimaru was playing dead as some sort of ploy, but the body was just limp like a rag doll. He was genuinely unconscious. Still not caring, Mondo made his way downstairs. The rich, alluring scent of blood filled the air. It almost made his mouth water at how tempting the smell was. There were sounds of cupboards being opened as the house was being ransacked of weapons and anything else that could be used against the vampire kind. There was the odd scream from a Vampire Hunter as they were killed off one by one. This wasn’t all of them, but they were “the best” that there was.

What a joke.

The acclaimed best Vampire Hunters and all it took was the Crazy Diamonds to kill them off. What a joke.

They shouldn’t have pissed off the wrong vampires in the first place anyway.

Almost all of them was killed. All but one. Time to settle a score.

“Hey, boss! What’s that you got?” A blonde vampire shouted as he saw Mondo coming down the stairs.

“Just some kid. Apparently he’s Takaaki’s kid.” Mondo grumbled, shrugging the one shoulder that didn’t have this dead weight on it. Upon hearing this, Takaaki Ishimaru lifted his head up in shock. His eyes were practically bulging out of his skull as his skin became more pale at the sight of the kid. Mondo shrugged off the son, not caring if he got more bruises as he was dumped on the floor.

“Don’t kill him! Please! I beg of you!” Takaaki suddenly begged, fighting to pull away from the vampires that held him on his knees.

“You all hear this?! The great Takaaki Ishimaru is begging!” Mondo guffawed. The gang around him also laughed at the display. The mocking only made the Vampire Hunter more desperate. After a minute of laughing, Mondo calmed down enough to be eye level with Takaaki, his laugh fading away instantly. “Why should I show mercy, when you never showed that to my brother!”

“He’s not a Hunter! Never has been!” Takaaki shouted, becoming more and more desperate. Mondo blinked in surprise. “If you kill him, you’ll be disgracing any honour that you have!”

Mondo glanced back at the still unconscious body behind him. That would explain a few things. It would explain the lack of fight that he was met with back in the bedroom. He just assumed that the kid was just in experienced in killing vampires. He thought that he had been trained to be a Hunter. Guess he assumed wrong. And, aside from more important things, nothing was more important than honour. He can’t kill someone that had nothing to do with the business. It’s not what Daiya would’ve wanted.

“Alright…I’ll keep him alive for ya.” Mondo vowed kneeling down to be eye level with the Vampire Hunter.

“Thank you.” Takaaki smiled tearfully before his neck was savagely ripped into.

Taka’s head perked up as he heard the door unlock. He didn’t move from his spot on the bed. He knew who it was. He overheard the other vampires call their leader Mondo. Or something like that. Either way, this was the only vampire that takes his time to bring Taka some food. That was the routine that Taka had fallen into for the week. He didn’t know much about what had happened. All that he knew was that he woke up in a small bedroom with a bathroom attached to it. There were some bloodstains on his usually pristine white uniform, but he doesn’t know how they got there. Some of his things, like his books and stationery were in this room as well as if to offer up some form of enrichment. After some untold hours, Mondo came in offering food.

That was when he was told what had happened that night. The night that his home was attacked. And the night that his father was killed.

There was no time to grieve. He was just thrusted into this with no warning. He was just locked away like some animal. A pet for a monster. He was just thankful that he hadn’t been bitten yet. Taka didn’t dare to sleep. He didn’t want to be bitten in the middle of the night. He also refused to eat. He didn’t dare trust anything or anyone in this place. He tried to think of way to escape, but no matter how hard he tried, it would always result in him being stuck here.

Just as he suspected, when the door opened, Mondo was standing there. He had a bowl of what seemed to be soup in one hand. He looked at the bedside table where a plate of stone cold food was left. Taka only glared at Mondo, wanting nothing to do with what was offered to him. However, he had a feeling that his silent protesting won’t get him any further this time around.

“Let’s try this again. Ya gotta eat.” Mondo said, approaching the human. Taka responded by huddling closer into the corner, making himself look smaller. Mondo ignored the movements. He just sat down on the edge of the bed as close as he could get to Taka. He spooned up some of the soup and offered it to Taka. He’s tried this before. And like last time, Taka defiantly turned his head away. This only seemed to anger Mondo more than last time. “Do you know how difficult it is to keep you alive?! Stop being so stubborn!”

Taka kept turning his head away. Mondo had enough. He placed the bowl down on the bedside table, the plate clicking with the old one. Before the human could react, his chin was grabbed in a grip that matched a vice. He tried to push the vampire off of him, but he was only responded with his jaw being squeezed. It resulted in his mouth being forced open. Mondo immediately shoved the food into his mouth. Before he could spit it out, Taka had his mouth and nose covered. Mondo put down the spoon and held Taka’s wrists in one hand. Taka kept trying to fight back as he started to suffocate. Mondo kept hold of Taka like that until the human finally gave in and ate the food. Seeing this, Mondo released him, allowing the human to take a lungful of fresh air.

However, Taka wasn’t going to stop fighting. Mondo had let his guard down. Before he registered the movement, Taka immediately kicked him away. Even if the lack of eating and sleeping depleted his strength, he saved as much of it as he could should he need to use it. Stunned by the sudden assault, Mondo was knocked off of the bed. This was the first time that Taka physically fought back. Normally he was against violence, but the way that he was force fed was the final straw for him. Mondo got to his feet. His face was as dark as thunder, his fangs on full display as a scare tactic. He raised a hand, ready to strike. Taka closed his eyes, bracing himself for the impact. But it never came. Hesitantly, Taka looked up to see that Mondo had somehow calmed down. The anger that he showered seemed to have vanished.

“Look, just eat, alright? Don’t have any plans on goin’ back on my word.” Mondo sighed, picking up the plate of old food as he left. Taka didn’t respond, he just kept glaring at Mondo. He was reminded of Mondo saying that stupid promise. A promise that apparently made with his father. Taka didn’t want to believe that his father would want him to be kept alive, but it’s not like he can ask the dead for anything. Letting out a depressed sigh, he buried his face into his knees, refusing to shed anymore tears.

Sleep finally took a hold of Taka. The lack of sleep had affected him. He just felt more drained than he believed. He felt his stomach was eating itself from the inside, but he ignored it just to at least get a little sleep. He ignored everything, even when he heard a faint scratching sound from outside. Probably a rat or a mouse or something. Taka didn’t move when the door was suddenly unlocked and opened. As he heard it being closed, he remained still. He figured it was Mondo again. The blood sucker also made a habit on checking on him a couple of times in the night. This was one of those times.

That’s what he believed until he felt a pair of hands force him onto his back. Shocked, Taka’s eyes snapped open. He was met face to face with another vampire. At first he thought he was from Mondo’s gang, but the symbol onhis sleeve was different. A rival?

“So, the rumours are true. Owada has a new pet!” The vampire smirked, eyeing at Taka greedily. More specifically his neck.

“Get off me!” Taka suddenly shouted. His voice was louder than he thought it’d be, considering how he hadn’t spoken for a very long time, since he was brought here.

“Let’s see how it tastes huh?” The vampire smirked, ignoring Taka’s struggling. He bared his fangs to their full extent. He started to lean towards Taka’s neck, ready to bite into the vulnerable flesh. With the adrenaline that he suddenly gained, Taka used all of the strength that he had left to shove the vampire off of him. It worked as the vampire fell backwards, not expecting Taka to fight back at all. He scrambled to get out of bed. He stumbled a little as the bed sheets were tangled around him. He kicked the sheets off of him as he sprinted towards the door. The vampire recovered quicker than he thought he would. A pair of strong arms wrapped around him, dragging him down to the ground. Taka tried to push the vampire off of him again, but with his arms pinned to his sides, there wasn’t much that he could do. As he was forced to sit down, he felt something like needles pierce his skin. Panic overwhelmed him as he felt his blood being sucked out of him.

“HELP! SOMEBODY! PLEASE HELP ME!” He screamed at the top of his lungs. He didn’t know if someone could hear him, but he was too desperate to try. He kept trying to pull away, but his strength was fading fast. He couldn’t left his legs to try to stand or kick. His arms slumped to his sides. His voice was suddenly taken away from him. His vision was becoming blurry. He thought that he heard the vampire say something but his mind wouldn’t let him register it. The vampire went back to sucking out his blood. His rapidly beating heart was dangerously slowing down. He felt like he was struggling to breathe. If this kept up, he’ll be drained completely. ‘Please…I don’t want to die…’ was all that Taka could think of.

There was the sound of crashing. The door was kicked open. Taka blinked as he was met with a bright light. Someone charged right at them. The vampire that held Taka was forced away from him. Taka crashed to the ground in a heap. He could hear fighting and shouting, but he was so tired that he can’t tell what was going on. He heard the sound of running feet as someone left the room and what seemed to be threats were yelled. Taka felt someone turn him onto his back, pressing down on the bite wound. He heard more shouting and the sound of someone else running somewhere.

The last thing that Taka registered, was Mondo looking down on him.

Judging the Danganronpa x Sanrio character pairings

You may have already heard that a DANGANRONPA X SANRIO line of crossover merch was announced a few days ago! Which is obviously AMAZING, because they’re combining cutesy characters that have often been marketed to wee children with everybody’s favorite murderdeathkill game! I LOVE IT.

I have a niece who went through a Sanrio/Hello Kitty phase, so I actually know a few of these characters. In turn, this means that I have THOUGHTS on how the DR1 and Sanrio cast were paired up.

Granted, I still had to look up a lot of these guys and read about them. But now I feel adequately educated to the point where I can judge just how well the Danganronpa and Sanrio pairings actually match up. 

Makoto Naegi/Cinnamoroll - Obviously this totally works because Makoto IS something of a cinnamon roll, eh? EH? But Cinnamoroll is said to be shy albeit still very friendly. He also likes to seek out fun new adventures. So, aside from “very friendly,” I’m not sure that this sounds like Makoto. I also doubt that calling a character a “cinnamon roll” is common slang in Japan. So this is whatever.

Sayaka Maizono/Wish Me Mell - Mell has the power to connect people’s hearts by simply stating the feelings they keep inside. She was initially withdrawn and believed she didn’t have any friends, but the people who cared for her finally broke through her shell and convinced her that she DOES have friends. So uh, Maizono... I guess music can also bring out people’s feelings? And perhaps you could plausibly HC that Sayaka has often felt like her surrounding friends were “fake” and only there because of her celebrity status. There’s not really much to go on here. 

Leon Kuwata/Tiran - Tiran is an orange T-rex that is said to be scatterbrained but still a strong and reliable leader. Meanwhile, Leon has orange hair, and he’s certainly strong and kind of scatterbrained sometimes. It sorta works.

Kyoko Kirigiri/Marroncream - Marroncream is bright, positive, and fashionable. She is talented at making crafts and sweets. She lives in Paris. She has nearly nothing in common with Kyoko, although Kyoko did live abroad a lot in her younger years. So I could try to latch onto the Paris thing.

Hifumi Yamada/Pokopon - Pokopon is a raccoon that loves to read but dislikes ghosts and “the thunder god.” (uh... what?) He also finishes his sentences with the unusual suffix “-das.” Of course, Hifumi loves to write (which certainly is connected to reading), and he likes to end all names with a weird suffix (”-dono”), so I can see how they might make a cute pair.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru/Pekkle - Pekkle is a duck who is good-natured and kind. He loves to sing and dance. It kind of sounds like he should’ve been matched with Sayaka, but instead he’s here with Taka. While Ishimaru is definitely a good person, I don’t think most people would immediately describe him as “kind.” And he certainly isn’t known for his love of music.

Yasuhiro Hagakure/Monkichi - Monkichi is a laid-back, easygoing guy who is upbeat and loves puns. His dream is to become a poet. It’s said that once he sets his mind on something, there is no stopping him! And in comparison, Hagakure is... well, he’s kind of laid-back in the sense that he’s kind of lazy? But he’s actually pretty high-stress a lot of the time, too. Honestly, there’s not much linking the two.

Chihiro Fujisaki/Kurousa and Shirousa - Shirousa is the white one and is the older sibling to Kurousa, the brown one. Shirousa is described as an energetic leader and Kurousa is described as being nice but lazy. They like to make cakes. What does any of this have to do with Chihiro? Beats me. This particular pairing is nonsense.

Byakuya Togami/Badtz-Maru - Badtz-Maru is said to have a bad attitude and dreams of being “the boss of everything” when he grows up. He tends to act a bit selfish, and he mocks things he dislikes/disagrees with. He enjoys expensive food and collecting photos of movie villains. With the exception of that last point, I’d have to say that this sounds like a near-perfect match for Togami.

Mondo Owada/Goropikadon - The Goropikadon are a group of cave boys whose actual names are Goro (blue hair), Pika (pink hair), and Don (teal hair). Goro is always hungry and joking around. PIka is a thoughtful, shy mama’s boy. Don is serious and places a high value on honesty. Overall, I suppose that how quick Mondo is to get angry and resort to violence kind of makes him seem like a stereotypical caveman? But in terms of their distinct personalities, only Don’s focus on honesty rings true for Mondo. 

Toko Fukawa/Lloromannic - Another multi-character one. The Llormannic are a pair of creatures named Berry (the black one, who is male) and Cherry (the pink one, who is female). They are mischievous and love to play pranks on humans. Cherry was originally alone and created Berry for companionship; however, she mixed up her magic spell ingredients and used salt when she meant to use sugar, which resulted in Berry turning out to be a more hostile being than Cherry. I suppose the fact that Berry is a darker creation of Cherry’s sort of reflects the relationship between Toko and her other self, Genocide(r) Syo/Jack. However, Berry and Cherry are still best friends. Toko and Syo/Jack are definitely not that.

Celestia Ludenberg/Kuromi - Kuromi is the rival of a bunny named “My Melody” who doesn’t appear in this promotion. Kuromi is said to look “tough and punk” in her jester’s hat with the pink skull on it, but in reality she is very girly. She enjoys writing in her diary, reading romance books, cooking, and checking out good-looking guys. I suppose Celestia did have that dream of living in a mansion where she was served by handsome guys dressed as vampires? So... they both like hot guys? But that’s all I’ve got here. Pretty sure this pairing only exists for aesthetic reasons. And admittedly, their aesthetics mesh very well.

Aoi Asahina/Keroppi - Keroppi lives with his family on the edge of Donut Pond. He is bubbly, a fantastic swimmer and, because of the name of his home pond, is often associated with donuts and/or things that are donut-shaped. Ok, so this was an obvious pairing, then. They nailed it. Probably the single best pairing they came up with.

Sakura Ogami/My Sweet Piano - Yes, the character’s name is literally “My Sweet Piano.” She’s described as soft, kind, and girly. Given Sakura’s secret love of girly things, I can see how this soft, pink, girly sheep would be something she’d love to be around. 

Junko Enoshima (...?)/Hello Kitty - Hello Kitty (a.k.a. Kitty White) is described by Sanrio as “cute, bright, sweet, kind-hearted and tomboyish.” They also say that Kitty is very close with her sister, Mimmy. As for Junko... look, the only reason I think maybe this is supposed to be Junko is because Mukuro already has her own Sanrio matchup (see the next entry), but in terms of her appearance, this “Junko” sure looks like it’s “Junkuro.” The telltale sign is that giant bow on the left side of the head, which only Mukuro-as-Junko has ever worn. I doubt we’re supposed to be thinking that they did two Mukuros in two different outfits, though? 

It’s like this: If it’s Junko, well, I guess both Junko and Kitty are icons within their respective brands. And Junko tries to put on a “cute and bright” exterior persona, I guess? But that’s pretty thin. On the other hand, if this is Mukuro in disguise, this is actually a semi-decent matchup! Mukuro is arguably tomboyish and certainly very close to her sister (at least from her own perspective), so these two are not without their parallels. 

In either case, both Kitty and the Unknown Despair Sister have a big bow on the left side of their head. Which I think is the real reason they’ve been paired, honestly.

Mukuro Ikusaba/Little Twin Stars - Kiki and Lala are a pair of twins that were born on December 24th. Mukuro is one half of a pair of twins ALSO born on December 24th. Instant connection! Kiki (the blue-haired boy) loves fishing and inventing things. He is curious and cheeky. Lala (the pink-haired girl) loves drawing, writing poems, and cooking. She is rather timid. In short, the “twins with the same birthdate” thing is the only thing connecting Mukuro to these two. Still, it’s not bad.

Also, the most amazing thing to come out of this team-up so far HAS TO BE MonoKitty. Hello Kitty cosplaying as our favorite psychotic MurderBear? How great is that? SELL ME MERCH OF MONOKITTY.

Oh god, I forgot to post the end of year writing meme. So here it is about a week late. I wrote so goddamn much this year. I never expected karabita fandom to just kind of. Happen. haha. It was weird going through my fics and thinking about things like good lines or good summaries. I wonder if anyone who reads the fics remember lines better than I do? It feels weird thinking about someone having a favorite fic of mine or a favorite line from one of my fics or something. After all this time, I still kind of think, like, “well, no one’s really reading/enjoying/remembering what I write” so it’s odd to think of my fics inside someone else’s head. I guess that’s what they’re for, though...

Anyway, my fics this year were full of a lot of ups and downs. If anyone wants to talk about any of them, or you have any questions or anything, it was really fun looking back through them and I’m kind of nostalgic now. lol

End-of-Year Writing Meme for 2016.

Stats

Total Word Count: 144,500 on AO3, but probably about 5k more if you count all the fics on Tumblr. I’m…setting aside the nonfiction. So let’s just say 150k.

Just going for the ones on AO3 now, so add several more karabita Tumblr fics and and I think some danganronpa, gravity falls, muppets, and maybe SU? I can’t remember all the non-Osomatsu ficlets I wrote this year. On AO3, though, 34 Osomatsu-san fics, all karabita I think. One also contained Ichimatsu/Xmas Couple and Jyushimatsu/Homura. Two fics for Arsenic and Old Lace, both gen. Two Danganronpa fics, Ishimaru/Mondo and Gundham/Sonia. One Gravity Falls fic, Stan-centric gen. One Scooby Doo fic, gen. One Pokemon Go fic, gen. One The Final Girls fic, Vicki/Gertie. Two Muppets fics, both Bunsen/Beaker. Jeez.

Specifics

Best/worst title?

Best… I had a couple I’m fond of. Probably “The Road Not Taken (Again and Again and Again)”, “Six Sips of Strychnine”, or…god, a lot of these are puns. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that some of the pun ones, like “Fowl Play” and “A Ghost of a Chance” and “The Pokemon Trade” are the best and the worst. I’m also not thrilled with “Love’s Carriers”.

Best/worst summary?

Hmm. Frankly, I don’t think I’m very good at summaries. “There is a difference between living and surviving. Karamatsu hovers between the two.” wasn’t too bad. And both “Karamatsu knows that Chibita is drunk, but it's a little hard to take the moral high road with a hand on his dick.” and “Sometimes when two men love each other very much and one man is kidnapped by some aliens and some [censored] [censored] stuff happens, a beautiful miracle is created.” made me laugh. “Sometimes Karamatsu can see the choices he didn’t make, and ones he’s sure he did.” is probably the best, though.

Worst…uh… Most of them… My summaries are so half-assed. Probably either “Chibita loves his new dog, but Karamatsu is hiding something. (Spoilers: NO, he is not a werewolf, he's just allergic to dogs.)” or “‘Write a fic where [Karamatsu] eats a salad’ That's it, that's the fic.”

Best first line?

Errr. I have a few that make me laugh. “For a long time, Karamatsu had labored under the blissful delusion that he was basically a good person.” (All’s Fair In Love and Blow Jobs), “After being attacked by a horde of vampires, being held captive in their den of villainy, and becoming a denizen of the night himself, Karamatsu understandably had to make a few lifestyle changes.” (Developing A Taste), “There were some times, some crimes, that made Velma seriously consider getting a day job.” (Fowl Play). (That one in particular makes me laugh, but I don’t think most people got the allusion.)

I also think a couple set the mood pretty well, like “It all began with Karamatsu kneeling on Chibita's floor, head pressed to wood and his wings folded tight against his back, the perfect picture of submission.” (Feathers and Favors) or “Karamatsu stared dully ahead, not entirely sure whether it was the steam or the alcohol that was making his vision swim.” (The Road Not Taken)

Honestly, I think most of my opening lines are pretty good, or at least serviceable.

Best last line(s)?

I just closed all my fic windows. ;~; Honestly, most of my last lines are more like last paragraphs, and kind of sum up the themes of the fic. They don’t always work well outside of them… But this one is probably the funniest without context.

General questions

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?

I wrote far, far more than I expected I would. I wrote almost three times as much this year as I have in all the other years put together on this pseud. (Though actually, I think I did write quite a bit on another pseud last year…?)

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?

I MEAN I FEEL LIKE KARABITA WAS THE DARK HORSE. I wasn’t even that into it when I started writing it!! I kind of became more comfortable writing the pairing as I went, and now I have a million ideas. I think it really was like 90% the support I got from the fandom that made me keep writing. Uh, that and personal stress. lol

What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.

Uhh. I think Feathers and Favors is the one that meant the most to me, but I think Like Moving Parts is my favorite. It feels homey to me.

Okay, NOW your most popular story.

GOD haha um probably mouth full of roses, eyes full of stars. I never, ever thought that melodramatic fic would be as popular as it’s become. It was such an experiment. I’m still not really sure why it caught on. Love’s Carriers also shocked me. I wrote both of those fics in such a short period, and I was expecting them to go largely unremarked. And then others I thought would go over well and they were basically ignored. so. Fandom is weird.

Story most underappreciated by the universe?

I REALLY LIKED MY POKEMON AU but I also acknowledge that many of the best parts still remain on my hard drive. God, I need to post the rest of that fic. I guess the Pokemon craze has kind of passed, though…

Life Line, Heart Line wasn’t exactly underappreciated… I was just writing for a fandom of one and I knew it. It wasn’t shocking to me that no one read it, and it was mostly just a short ToT fic so it didn’t sting. (I…learned my lesson about writing really involved fics for minuscule fandoms after I wrote that Sleep No More fic.)

Story that could have been better?

Er… Probably a lot of them, all told. I’m really not very good at writing sex, so probably some of those especially.

Sexiest story?

I…guess probably the sexy rent fic, haha. Though again, I think a lot of the best parts of that are still on my hard drive.

Saddest story?

Errrr… Probably Little Ghost, Little Ghost or the zombie ficlets. Both of them that involve dead halves of my OTP and the other half coping badly, essentially. Or The Devil At The Crossroads, because that one involved suicidal ideation.

Most fun?

Probably the Muppet fics! It’s a fun canon. Or, oh my god, that silly, stupid Scooby Doo fic. I loved it, people loved reading it, it was stupid. It was really fun haha.

Story with single sweetest moment?

Uh.. Frankly, I think I specialize in sweet moments, so this is a bit hard for me. The confession scenes at the ends of Like Moving Parts and Feathers and Favors stand out, but I think most of my readers would pick other moments, lol.

Hardest story to write?

Emotionally, it was Feathers and Favors. I…cried a lot while I wrote that. It touched on some very personal parts of my life. Love’s Carriers probably required the most research. I had to walk to florists haha. The Arsenic and Old Lace fics fought me a lot, largely because of election angst, which is why I ended up writing two. I’m relatively happy with Six Sips, though.

Easiest/most fun story to write?

I had fun with basically every single monster one, hahaha. I have such a type. Paradoxically, I think that Feathers and Favors was also one of the easier ones to write. I wrote so much in such a short period of time, because it just flowed really well. I guess writing it was kind of therapeutic.

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

Honestly, I think I thought a lot more about gag characters than is really right or proper this year. My perceptions changed a lot, and I came to love both Chibita and Karamatsu even more. (Which…is what happened to me when I wrote Beaker last year…)

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?

Uhh… I mean… I wrote a lot of short, weird little fics this year, but largely in a fandom where I mostly knew I’d have an audience. (But I did worry a lot about alienating said audience, especially after they got used to fluff from me.) The zombie ones were outside of my comfort zone, but everyone was writing zombies so it wasn’t that much of a risk. The Road Not Taken actually was a risk; it was one of my first Osomatsu-san fics and I had no idea how it’d be received.

What are your fic writing goals for next year?

I don’t know… I’d like to finish a few of the karabita WIPs I have on my hard drive, but… It does kind of seem like the fandom for the pairing is dying off, doesn’t it? I still have a lot of stories to tell, but maybe soon I’ll have no one to tell them to… So maybe one of my goals should be finding a new fandom, too, huh? I tend to hunker down when I find a pairing I really like, but I often stay long after the audience has moved on, which just leads to frustration. Sometimes I look at the karabita AO3 tag and feel kind of embarrassed because I’ve written such a large percentage of the fics that are there, like maybe I’ve glommed onto something dumb too much? But it’s been one of the few fun things in a terrible year, so oh well, whatever. Still, branching out a bit couldn’t hurt.

I’d also like to write more of my ideas for original fic, though I’ll admit I find that very… large. My origific ideas have a habit of getting away from me, and then they’re too big and I get overwhelmed and set them aside. I should probably give them a chance to grow, though. I have so many f/f ideas, and the world needs more f/f origific.

Witch AU- Give me some headcanons! =P

1-5: All 2 lewd 4 5 year olds.  >:P  Quite frankly, knowing that this is a TF meme just makes me want to have fun with all the different things she could turn him into, so...I’m not too sure how to make it...not...at least partially...lewd?  I mean...how do you turn something into a puppy, or a horse, or really any sort of animal and not train it...?  I am so confused...

That said...let me see if I can think of some good ones that are suitable for five year olds...

1. The woods are basically just a special village for supernaturals - we know that at this point.  I was thinking that a good portion of the cast would fit into various supernatural roles.  Mondo being the head werewolf, and Ishimaru being the friendly vampire across the glen to pinpoint a few examples I’ve mentioned.  I want there to be a council, where everyone gets together, and for there to also be shops and things to do.  I want a pet shop...but I can’t!  I want a doctor’s office - but that’s a bad idea, too!  Think of all the funny shit that could happen - but no!

2. For whatever reason, I honestly think that Peko would allow Fuyuhiko to go home every so many days - like, maybe on Saturdays, or something.  She might even make him go to a school in the woods during the week, or every other week, maybe...  Perhaps she’ll turn him into various creatures and send him into the different factions to gain an understanding of them.  Either way, I really can’t imagine she’d enjoy going from just having a few dolls that adore her as company to Fuyuhiko lounging about all the time, bitching about not wanting to be there. 

3. Since you explicitly stated that you didn’t like any of the TFs that I liked when we went over this beforehand, I’m going to just keep things to the fluffy variety, I guess...and maybe alternate between feral, athro, and 1/3, 1/2, and 3/4 kemono-like forms?  Perhaps how much he gets TF’d depends on how badly he misbehaves?  I can’t see Peko just doing things to him without either A) he’d done something that warranted it as a punishment, or B) she was trying to teach him something...which might just go back to A...I dunno.  The sass is just never real enough for me to properly handle.  Like, the more attitude I’m given, the meaner my Peko gets in these AUs, lol, and I’m always afraid of crossing the line.  :P

4. Any romance is also out, so...maybe apprenticeship?  Would that quickly get boring?  Probably; it’s way overdone, and I can’t really imagine Fuyuhiko having the aptitude or willingness to learn anything from her...nor any idea why she’d want to teach a spoiled human child anything so valuable as magic.  Hmmm...I’m never too sure what direction our RPs should take as far as ‘relationships’ go.  The longest running RPs I have are all based around deep connections that took a lot of build up - even Syo, as fucked up as her relationship is.  You like to focus on horror/action from what I understand; still, I can’t just throw him to the werewolves while they’re in heat, or to a vampire to be bitten and temporarily controlled against his will, or to Gundam...for various animal-related shenanigans(b-but mah petshops, vet visits, and grooming sessions!  TT^TT), either...that would be...  Well, not for five-year-olds for one thing, I guess?  I don’t even know what you consider ‘sexual’...  I fall asleep to people screaming on youtube on a regular basis, so I’d have a pleasant night’s sleep - and so would Peko, by default - but as horrific as that would likely be, I doubt that’s what you’re looking for...but I digress.  Maybe a Dr. Frankenstein?  Though we’ve already tried that kind of thing twice, and it never went anywhere, either.  So that leaves us with...young master...apprentice...pet...plaything...Fuyuhiko.  I’m really all ears on this one, kid - we’ve been over this one to death, and I still have nothing.  >.>;

5. Profit? 

The sarcasm is real with me tonight.  Seriously, though; I’m totally out of ideas.  We jump around through AUs so fast I never really know what will stick for long, or what you’re even okay/happy with, or enjoying.  Gimme some input, here, I can’t move my pieces along the game board until I know what the game rules are.
