Hi hello good day to the three people that follow me. I was wondering if anybody has thought of ship names. Mostly to tag posts better, but it would also just be fun to see what they would be!
#I'm thinking one for the throple. hal dennis. dennis fay. fay hal.#Fayhal/Fayl is kinda funny but depends on if you think hal is fully homo or likes girls two weeks of the year#are shipnames outdated? idk

About ship names n outdated practices idk if this is just me n me being ace but i really dont like forming a shipname over who tops cuz it feels so overly focused on the couples sex life like its the most important thing and idk it feels kinda fetishy like a straight person asking 'lol so who is the girl in your reletionship'
That n i remember checking out this event n it was named character1character2 event name n they got asks like 'ok but does it allow character2character1' n i was so confused by it cuz thats just the same couple with names reverse n this is a sfw event so what does it matter. N then my brother, who reads fanfic way more than i do, informed me that some people tend to twist a characters personality into being more submissive, gentle, caring or more dominant, agressive n stoic depending on who tops n who botoms....n ye treating a simple sexual prefrence like a personality trait is so beyond gross n fetishizing to me
Same. There’s more to shipping then sex (though us being in the middle of kinktober and just seeing sex fics for my favourite pairings makes me question if people feel the same way T-T I’m not a big fan of kinktober because I find PWP so fucking boring).
I just prefer ship names that are easy to say and it’s not an indication of the preference I have for that ship. I thought that had become the common practice but hearing people question whether they could write about “character2 x character 1″ instead of the more “popular” way around on a sfw event makes me lose that hope T-T
Sadly I have notice that trend that people who focus on the ship names as signs of how they view their characters positions in their sex life do tend to twist characters like that. I hate it (it happens a lot in a fandom I’m in, or used to at least, so I avoid all words that have the inverted character ship name because I know they’re more likely to be written really ooc).
I absolutely hate it when people treat sexual preferences like a personality trait in shipping when it’s literally just your preference. It really shouldn’t be this deep.
#fandom#thanks for the ask!!#I understand completely where your coming from anon#it's so annoying#Anonymous
