In 1994, the Police are in a desperate war on drugs in the United States, especially against the current drug of choice Substance D. Undercover Narc Fred is focusing on Bob Arctor and his household of druggies. His fellow Narcā€™s donā€™t know what Frank looks like since the undercover cops where a ā€œScrambleā€ suit when they are in the office so no one can know their true identity. Because of this, his fellow officers donā€™t realize Bob Arctor is Frankā€™s undercover identity. (ā€œA Scanner Darklyā€ Philip K Dick, Bk)

Stranger Leitner Tiebreaker 1: Philip K. Dick
A Scanner Darkly: The main character Bob Arctor leads a double life as an undercover police agent infiltrating a drug dealing ring. As a part of his cover he starts taking the drug and becomes addicted, and the drug causes the hemispheres of his brain to function separately leading to the emergence of two separate personalities - 'Bob' when he is a drug dealer, and 'Fred' when he is a police agent. both of these personalities do not recognize each other, so for example when he is reviewing footage of him as Bob, he thinks he is spying on some other man. Also, in this world there are 'scramble suits' - special coats that make it impossible to distinguish anything about the wearer's appearance or their voice, and the protagonist is required to wear one of these when he is not undercover. That worsens his split personality, as he has no one who remembers his appearance as 'Fred', and he forgets he was undercover at all and just starts acting as a genuine drug dealer. The distortion of memories, erasure of appearance and the personality swap from Fred to Bob reminds me strongly of not!them. Fred not!themmed himself
Upon the Dull Earth: Short story in which a woman dies, and her boyfriend makes a deal to bring her back. Trouble is, he brings her backā€¦ too much. It'd be a funny old world if we were all the same, wouldn't it? Link to the story. (CW: blood, death, identity death)

a scanner darkly (2006), an adaptation of the philip k. dick novel of the same title, is a fascinating and at times convoluted but ultimately deeply impactful film. its most striking element is of course its medium: the film was shot digitally and then animated with rotoscope in a way that deliberately hovers between the cartoon and the real. there are even some elements of the filmā€”bob arctorā€™s face in particularā€”that appear more stylized in some situations and more realistic in others, and the disorienting, shifting nature of this style is shown off in the iconic ā€œblur suitsā€ worn by undercover narcotics agents. although many have expressed a dislike of this animation style, and i myself do not deny that it is not visually pleasing like some animation styles are, it is certainly effective in producing an affect of hallucinogenic uncertainty. the filmā€™s central character spends the storyā€™s entire run descending deeper and deeper into brain damage caused by addiction to the personally and societally debilitating drug substance d. like minority report (2002), another adaptation of dickā€™s work, this film depicts a world that has seen one of dickā€™s contemporary cultural vices expand along the lines fearmongerers predict until america willingly hands itself over to the control of a highly invasive and ultimately useless police state. even more so than minority report (2002), this film deals with the paranoia of a world in which society is fractured by the inundation of society with both undercover cops and rhetorically dehumanized addicts, in which addictsā€™ psyches are fractured by the effects of substance d, in which the line between curing a societal ill and inducing it is blurred many times over. substance d induces paranoiac hallucinations, which this filmā€™s unreal style renders indistinguishable from ordinary reality, but the narrative informs us that a fair deal of paranoia is justified by the extreme surveillance state. this film replicates the tone of a dick novel better than any other adaptation iā€™ve seen, and the final title card repeating dickā€™s memorial to the fallen leaves the film with a heavy punch. although a scanner darkly (2006) is not easy to watch, it is highly effective and incredibly memorable, and i would recommend giving it a try

Let's Hear It For The Vague Blur! Inspired by the Scramble Suit from A Scanner Darkly. I've always been intrigued by the masks that we wear in different situations. The subtle or overt changes in our personalities we make to fit in with social etiquette necessary for any given situation. Are these masks different versions of ourselves, or are they a smaller part of a bigger whole? How do we keep track of our authentic selves? As Arctor says, "I can't any longer these days see into myself. I see only murk. Murk outside; murk inside."

If every character played by Keanu Reeves fought in a giant free-for-all melee, who would win?
Now I'm certainly missing a large amount (Keanu has been in 80+ films) but notable contenders most would be aware of: Ted Logan (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure)
Jonathan Harker (Bram Stoker's Dracula)
Jack Traven (Speed)
Johnny (Johnny Mnemonic)
Neo (The Matrix)
John Constantine (Constantine)
Bob Arctor (A Scanner Darkly)
John Wick (John Wick)
Keanu the Kitten (Keanu)
Johnny Silverhand (Cyberpunk 2077)
Rules:
This fight takes place in the physical world because Neo is the only character capable of entering the matrix
It is not necessarily a fight to the death, victory could simply be achieved by convincing everyone else to give up, or, that you deserve the win
John Constantine still has terminal lung cancer
Equipment consists of only what someone could realistically carry on their person, but, Jack Traven does have the rigged bus from Speed
No direct outside help is permitted, but, characters can call their friends/colleagues on phones for advice

This movie reminds me of a live action graphic novel starring an incredibly mental cast like RDJ, Keanu Reaves and Winona Wilder
"In a totalitarian society in a near future, the undercover detective Bob Arctor is working with a small time group of drug users trying to reach the big distributors of a brain-damaging drug called Substance D. His assignment is promoted by the recovery center New Path Corporation, and when Bob begins to lose his own identity and have schizophrenic behavior, he is submitted to tests to check his mental conditions.ā€”Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil" (pasted from the IMDB page)

Last to Leave the Room (Caitlin Starling) "The city of San Siroco is sinking. The basement of Dr. Tamsin Rivers, the arrogant, selfish head of the research team assigned to find the source of the subsidence, is sinking faster. As Tamsin grows obsessed with the distorting dimensions of the room at the bottom of the stairs, she finds a door that didnā€™t exist before - and one night, it opens to reveal an exact physical copy of her. This doppelgƤnger is sweet and biddable where Tamsin is calculating and cruel. It appears fully, terribly human, passing every test Tamsin can devise. But the longer the double exists, the more Tamsin begins to forget pieces of her life, to lose track of time, to grow terrified of the outside world. As her employer grows increasingly suspicious, Tamsin must try to hold herself together long enough to figure out what her double wants from her, and just where the mysterious door leadsā€¦"
