We’ve had a great start to the last week of gaming in January: two back-to-back local meetups at @archivecoffeeandbar and @thespaceconcertclub for #tabletopgames . We are especially excited that SevenStonePlace - an up-and-coming indy game publisher in #salemoregon and friend of our Worlds- debuted their game “Diesel and Dragons: Tall Tales from Texarkoma” for public beta at #thespace. The dice mechanic in this game is forward thinking, and the framing of the game in phases leaves you not just with a tall-tale you can tell in game, but one that you will want to recount to your friends over a beer. Inspired design work, we can’t wait to see more designers - shout out @tothedeathgames for their regular appearances at the meetups - bring more cool ideas to our growing #gaming #community. I had the greatest day the other day. I went out on my own into downtown, and grabbed some magazines from RiteAid. I don't usually buy magazines, but I wanted to do a collage project and I needed some material. I chose Vogue magazines, because I knew there would be some good quality photos in there, and no mumbo jumbo that I detest in magazines that you would find in a salon or something. It was such a nice day out, sunny, which is weird for Oregon in January, but I won't question it because sunshine always puts me in a good mood. I had heard of this new coffee shop that had opened up downtown and I decided to check it out. It was the coolest place ever! 

As you can see, the walls are lined with ancient-looking books, which is a major plus in my opinion. The dim mood lighting and the swanky music playing in the background really solidified the place as a great hot spot. The whole place was buzzing, I am sure from the novelty of the place. There are two sides to the coffee shop, one side is a bar and the other is a coffee shop. In the second picture it shoes the bar side. It's a very interesting concept, and I actually really like it. I got some white tea there.

Just the whole look of the tea was fantastic. The guy asked what I wanted, then he filled a flask with the appropriate leaves. He let the leaves steep in the flask with hot water for a while, and told me to take a seat while it brewed. The whole process was fascinating to watch, there was kind of an artistry about it. Then he came and found where I was sitting, which was impressive in itself. The little tea leaves were in a miniature mug beside the big mug filled with my tea. The whole expirence was really fun and amazing, and I can't wait to return. It made me feel very hip and trendy. It was incredible.
