Just a reminder: I DO love Arcane;
I love Jinx and Vi’s complicated relationship, Silco’s unbendable determination to free Zaun, Jinx and Silco’s relationship, Vi and Vander’s relationship, the chembarons and chemsoldiers, Jayce taking stupid steps in first days of his councillorship but seeing what’s needed to be done to really resolve the conflict between unequal sides by the end of the week, Viktor’s unbendable determination to live a better life, Caitlyn’s unquestioning kindness, Zaun’s vibe, Ekko and the firelights being the third side that’s secretly better than both of the other two, Himerdinger joining the firelights, the approach to science, Mel choosing Piltover over Noxus, fighting choreography, councillors’ designs, the steampunk vibes, and of course, animation and sound design.
Just because S2 was a disappointment doesn’t mean Arcane as a whole wasn’t a beautiful experience (that’s exactly why I’m so hard on S2).
#honestly I’m not enjoying the rage I have towards S2 it’s just how I cope with a feeling of ‘What could’ve been’ have the og team stayed#for how overly positive reviews for S1 were keeping all writers should’ve been a no brainier move#but a big company once again proved WHY masses don’t get better things#if we’re gonna eat anyways why prepare something good?#arcane#arcane season 2#arcane critical#arcane critisicm

I have such a weird relationship with most of the Arcane fandom as someone who got into Arcane as a League of Legends fan. It's weird because parts of the plot that make perfect and intrusive sense to me because of my existing knowledge of the lore I see brought of as confusing or weak points in the plot that don't make sense or seemed like a waste of time. Then I zoom out in on just what's being presented in Arcane if I assumed someone had little to no Lore background and I'm like oh yeah I see how that would be confusing and that's a fair critisicm to have.
Like for example the inclusion of the Black Rose in Mel's story had me fucking giddy because there's a million interesting implications about Mel and Ambessa both just by the fact that LeBlanc has a personal interest in them. Then I realize that if someone doesn't know what the Black Rose actually is, a lot of what was happening probably didn't make a whole lot of sense, LeBlanc's face was never actually shown and I don't recall her name being dropped.
The dichotomy is an odd one.
Hi!
I have not played the games myself. I think that even if in season 2 there is kind of an overload of information when it comes to the worldbuilding, they also gave enough info to understand what is going on more or less. It is out of the blue, but it is not completely incomprehensible. I think you just have to roll with it tbh :)
Thank you for sharing!

My nitpick with S2 #26749262: Would make more sense if they gave Maddie, Steb or fake Vander a pulverizer(?)/sprayer(?) with Grey instead of 🤘glock and shield🤘
Even with weapons that could actually target someone people who used chemical weapons sometimes accidentally poisoned themselves, there’s no way Opening Vents(tm) could target shit.
#And why did they put a brawler (cuz why else would fake Cander carry a giant shield around) as an operator?#my nitpick with season 2: the series#episode 1#arcane critical#arcane critisicm#arcane season 2
