This earth is where Nara sleep. Once here were stone homes Nara made. But after they fell asleep, plants came from their dreams and became owners of this place. Nara left the stones but didn’t leave memories. Nara Varuna came here and cried for them. The place on which the tears dropped became the forest. The memories of Nara Varuna and Aranara flower into the forest and converged in the Realm of Khab, becoming a dream... 

Memory nourishes new life. Death is just a one-time loss of memory.

The essence of memories, the powers of the Kusava... Only with these can we defeat Marana.

Aranara memorial to Nara Varuna in the depths of Vana (the forest). Vana remembers everything that happened after Nara Varuna arrived. Big trees remember and seeds remember, but we don’t know if Nara Varuna will understand...

The root system is underground, and the entrance is in the center of the Varunastra. The Varuna Contraption is a creation of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. It sends forth water that brings life, turning Valuka into Vana, replacing that which was once yellow with green, and turning barren land into a land full of life.

Recently, the local Vana... Ah, I meant the forest. The forest and stream are always crying. Maybe, it’s because of Marana. Marana, bad.

Countless black pests are corroding the roots of the Tree of Dreams in Sarva. I can feel Marana’s hands, shaking the dream to its core. The past and future meet in Sarva.

These evil monsters (abyss wolves) follow the dark power and are vanguards of corruption. They are not natural. They do not belong to the cycle of heaven or earth. These beasts and this dark color... They and Marana are one.

There are those who no longer dream and thus can no longer see us, those who have accepted fate and stopped searching for the way forward, and those who wallow in fear and pain. Their hearts have hardened, unable to get help from these flowers.

Marana should fall into slumber now that its avatar has been destroyed. But in a matter of decades, perhaps centuries, it will wake up again. It’s because Marana’s memory has been left in Sarva. Unless that can be completely removed, the memory of “death” that dwells in all things will eventually bring it back again. ...But this will take a long time. I believe that by then there will once again come someone as golden as the sun.

Hidden in the golden sandstorm, the eternal oasis was devoid of life. The oldest ruler of all plants, whom no Aranara had had the pleasure of meeting, lay dormant in the sand. The vegetation that once covered it had all died and been reduced to grains of sand. Just as Marana whispered: All good things must vanish. But you should know that as dark as night is, the stars still shine and the sun will still rise. Death longs to dominate all, but life will not fade.❞

Seeing everyone else discuss their names for Scaramouche/Wanderer is making me realize I put too much thought into it

I’m going with “Fujin Ahana” because it’s got layers

Fujin (風神)because duh, the god of wind is connected to Raijin or Raiden. I feel like that’s a pretty self explanatory last name consider how connected the Inazuma lore is to the Shinto pantheon. Honestly if you didn’t know that reference by now and why that’s the main reason they’re anemo, you gotta be living under a rock.

Aahana or Ahana (亜華/天花) is a name that can mean immortal, morning glory, heaven, sky, or flower depending on the language you’re referencing and it’s also a common last name for those of Chinese descent born overseas. I’m going with the Japanese spelling, Wanderer is going to wake up as a reborn person in a new nation that is full of Sanskrit based names, & it’s typically a female name which kinda pokes at Scaramouche’s initial purpose without blatantly calling them a puppet. Most people assume they’re trans, I suspect the same- at least non-binary so I rather play into that without making it too obvious. Also their redesigned hat & Hindu referencing accessories reminds people of the Aranara & being in the dendro nation, it just makes sense to go with a flower based name.

Other names I considered but I figured not too because they might be used as a Sumeru npc name or be associated with someone else & I rather not clarify every time I’m asked are Caelus, Anila, Enlil, Samir, Azure, & Shu. I also went down a list of flower names and saying “fuu-jin ah-hah-nah” & “ah-hah-nah fuu-jin” outloud felt super natural to me.

Btw there’s a rumor their birthday is Jan 3 & I like the idea of naming them Carnation but do you know how silly that would be in terms of the symbolism? They’re learning how to love but he’s not THAT committed. I considered Carna for short but that’s the name of the goddess who protects internal organs and they’re missing a heart 💀

Like go off if you want to name them Scara or Balladeeznutsinyourmouth to each their own but man, I do feel a bit silly spending a few hours looking at baby names now.

i am finally done with this bullshit. maybe i shouldn’t have speed run like 95% of them all at once, but i feel like i would have struggled way more bc i have such garbage memory and had to keep backtracking and rechecking the list 458934086 times to ensure i got them all. i literally have three scratched up sticky notes of my descent into madness doing this,
