EL:when she was alive,she was a healer & guard with Copper & Mila,she supported copper back then,however she was a odd one,always have a mysterious agenda despite her cheerful demeanor,however not much know about her except she had died using a spell & create a being that will help copper's descendant in the future in order to stop agate's plan to ruin it.

Bio:she moved to copper & agate's home when she was child,skip a few years & she grew close with the siblings & met their little sister amber,she was Amber's babysiter & big sister figure to her.

Around that time of the war,she usually visits gaster secretly,since she is one of few who didn't hate monsters,but since due to the war drew the two factions apart,aradia could only visit them secretly,however due to the two lightvale siblings end having a quarrel,she has to be there in order to stop them from doing drastic things.

It had gone days until the duel & agate fleeing after losing,she decided to try & follow her,calling out for her but she had lost her,agate did hear her but she made a swift move to lose her.

Over the few days no one had seen agate & aradia couldn't help but felt a creeping bad feeling in her body,when the day agate came back & challenge copper into a duel,he lost & what happens next shocked her,she was there when it happens,when she tries to protect agate but failed,after seeing amber get killed by agate,she saw her want after copper next & she use all of her strength sheild copper but we're both stabbed,thinking they are dead agate proceeds to go to Amber's dead body however she didn't know that aradia sheilding copper manage to survive a minimum for a unknown reason,due to aradia's soul.

Witnessing agate using the "bete noir"spell to ensure that no monsters or humans can live peacefully however aradia saw this & with a meek encouragement from the weakened copper to use his soul as a vessel for the similar unknown spell in order to stop agate,aradia proceeds to do it knowing copper & herself wants to stop agate's plan,she used the unknown spell that is also dangerous as "bete noir"

Okay so upon seeing a gifset of Hilda’s resurrection/Zelda’s speech and calling out to Hecate, I remembered something.... This isn’t the first time Zelda’s calling on the power of other witches has “saved the day” sorta speak.

The exorcism from Part 1.

I couldn’t find a gifset of it, but I am going back and watching the scene, and with hindsight the dynamic is fairly interesting. Before Zelda arrives and its just Sabrina, Hilda, and Lilith, Sabrina calls out to a host of famous witches:

“I call forth the powers of Lilith of Aradia, of Morgan le Fay. [...] I call on Black Annis, I call on Anne Boleyn. I call on the Witch of Endor. [...] I call on Hecate, on Artemis, on Luna to expel this demon. I call on Hildegard of Bingen, I call Marie Laveau. I call Tituba, I call Mary Bradbury. [...] I call Nehman, Badb, Macha. I call Circe (ok but thats funny in hindsight), I call Moll Dyer. I call on Juno, [.....] I’m not strong enough!”

So we have Sabrina literally calling Hecate herself in this scene. She calls on every witch she could name with Lilith herself and Hilda backing her up. Obviously Lilith was not as involved as she was pretending to be, but that’s not necessarily relevant as to why Sabrina’s call did not work on its own, even with Hilda’s help. The show throughout its entire run goes out of its way to show just how extraordinary Sabrina’s powers are. But the demon brings up a point: She’s not a witch. Now, of course, he was just trying to take a shot at her ego and doubt herself. But technically Sabrina isn’t a witch; she is celestial (half, but still). Is that why Hecate and the others wouldn’t answer her call? Or is there something else at play here?

Enter Zelda.

“Yes, you are. I call upon Cybil Leek. I call upon Priscilla Spellman. I call upon Francis Spellman. I call upon Evanora and Locasta Spellman. Continue, Sabrina.”

Zelda shouts these names from beside the door, slowly coming closer with her hands outstretched, and she doesn’t join the others until she hands it off to Sabrina. This could be interpreted as a blessing, as a passing of power to Sabrina before they all join and push towards the demon.

With the exception of one, every witch Zelda names is a Spellman.

Now this could merely be interpreted under the lens of Zelda’s extreme family pride. And Sabrina’s lacking of their names in favor of famous witches instead, not thinking family would count or be strong enough. Okay so Sabrina is sixteen and still figuring things out.... But this is the first witch exorcism performed.

So why does Zelda’s calling, her powers tip the scale in their favor?

Could the Spellmans, specifically Zelda, be descended from or intertwined with Hecate?

The show very rarely, if ever, shows Zelda using her powers. We see her being a midwife, a teacher, a caretaker. But when we do see her stepping in (the batibat, Mr. Kinkle abusing Harvey, etc), it is always poised with a powerful energy. The scenes have a weight to them that doesn’t exist when we are shown other witches performing magic. Hilda shows hints of stronger abilities, but she does not desire to tap into them as often. And Sabrina is not a Spellman by blood.

Basically what I’m saying is the the Spellman bloodline is being framed in a unique way that I’m probably overthinking.

Exorcism:

Unlike the catholic exorcism which draws its potency not from the priest performing it but from the False god, the exorcism Sabrina performs relies on the power of the individual witch challenging the demon and on the continuum of witches that predate all of them.

For the exorcism you must speak with a loud clear voice ‘

Mythology:

Witch pregnancies last for 13 months rather than 9, showing that they’re not simply humans with powers but aren’t human at all.

Demonolgy:

Cases of actual involuntary demonic possession are extremely rare

One musn’t touch a possessed person as contact makes youn vulnerable to psychological attacks

Demons prey on your fears, your shame etc

Apophis wants to spoil debase and corrupt mortals. Possessions involving Apophis rarely last long. He is a parasitic demon also known as the ‘devouring worm’.

Jesse accidentally set Apophis free by breaking his seal while mining and that’s how he became possessed. Sabrina finds the broken pieces and, after Apophis is thrown in the well in order to let him burrow his way back to hell, Sabrina throws the seal after him, to trap him once more.

Prophecy: We learn that Sabrina needed to perform an exorcism on a mortal as part of the Dark Lord’s grand design. We also learn that the prophecy she’s meant to fulfil will be ‘apocalyptic’

Thomas Sanders Hogwarts! AU

* this is my own personal au and headcannons as to what I think would happen if our favourite goofball Thomas and his friends attended Hogwarts at the same time as the golden trio. There are several ties to Ilvermorney school and the American magical world so as not to discount Thomas's American heritage (or anyone's for that matter). There is also several mentions of the Irish witch Isolt Sayer and her story as the founder of Ilvermorney.

Some personal details including family members, lineage and hometowns are completely fictional so as to preserve privacy for the real people featured in this story and the information is obviously not available to me or online so I had to make stuff up. Some facts including dates and locations have also been altered from the original stories for the benefit of the story.

Name: Thomas Godric Sanders

Family History:

Alastair sanders and Gwenivere O'Neill  were two of the many people to board the mayflower as it sailed towards the new world along with their dear friend Isolt Sayer from their childhood.

Years passed as they hid from the murderous Gormlaith Gaunt and while Isolt found James, Webster and Chadwick, thus forming the wizard school Ilvermorney. Alastair and Gwenivere travelled west in search of new witches and wizard tribes in the new world. Along the way Alastair encountered an Obskuris and attempted to banish it in hopes of saving Gwenivere, whom he had fallen deeply in love with, in the process getting deeply injured. Sensing the grief that radiated from the small cottage in what is now modern day Arizona. A phoenix swooped down from the sky and witnessed the distraught Gwenivere weeping over Alastair, (who had fallen into a comatose state in an attempt to heal his injuries) the sorrow and heartbreak that Gwenivere exuded drew pity from the phoenix who layed down on  Alastair's chest and wept for the young lovers in their plight. For four days both the phoenix and Gwenivere wept at Alastair's side until the phoenix promptly shot up into the air and burst into flames. At that moment Alastair awoke, his injuries healed (this event in turn is the cause of the phoenix being a symbol of house sanders in the wizarding world). He and Gwenivere promptly married and headed back to the east to settle down in Massachusetts for their children Aradia and Evanora, their daughters, and Alatair, their son, to attend Ilvermorney.

Their pureblood lineage continued for many years until Halloween night in the year 1959 with the birth of Fabian Sanders. Always the rebel in his family he was the first child of the Sanders name to be sorted into Wampus house since Alastair himself (who in Hogwarts belonged to house Gryffindor but with the founding of Ilvermorney by his dear friend Isolt Sayer was promptly sorted into Wampus house)

While their bloodline held a steady stream of members of Horned Serpent house (including Alastair's wife Gwenivere).  Fabian's status as rebel and rule breaker only strengthened when at 17 years old he met a young No-Maj named Blair Smith, a seamstress working in a shop in the town of Salem where his family lived. Fabian quickly fell deeply in love with Blair and disclosed his true magical heritage to her. When their love remained true Fabian Sanders proposed to Blair on the hill of Greylock, which to Blair simply looked like a beautiful hill overlooking a valley with a lake, but it in fact was the true grounds of Ilvermorney school. Fabian's father warned him of the consequences of marrying a No-Maj in America as it was outlawed until 1986. He however did not discourage Fabian and instead gave him an intricate iron key with an emerald ribbon. This was the key to the Sanders family estate in the town of Killarney in County Kerry. The birth place of Alastair Sanders, Gwenivere O'Neill and Isolt Sayer. Fabian and Blair moved to Ireland, married and had four sons. Patrick, Christian, Shea and Thomas.

Childhood:

Patrick was the eldest son of Fabian and Blair, he grew up surrounded by the magic that his father performed in his everyday life, when he became curious about why his mother never performed magic she told him some people simply held no magical qualities and that even though they were ordinary they still were equal in the eyes of her and Fabian and other people who accepted non magic folk.

Patrick began to worry that he might never show any signs of magic in his childhood but sure enough at the age of nine she managed to unknowingly levitate himself and his brothers Christian and Thomas without the use of a wand.

Similar things occured for each brother and at 11 years old every brother received their letters inviting them to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Both Patrick and Christian were sorted into Ravenclaw, following in the footsteps of many of their ansestors ( both Ravenclaw and Horned Serpent being houses that valued the mind and scholars ).

Thomas broke the chain however when he was accepted into Hufflepuff, the house of the kind and loyal. He received a letter from his parents saying that he was clearly a Hufflepuff from the day he was born according to his gentle sensitivity and empathetic instincts.

Shea again broke the mould being sorted into Gryffindor, the house of the brave and courageous (like his father who was in Wampus house).

Wand:

Thomas was chosen by an extremely rare wand upon entering Olivander's shop in Diagon Alley on his 11th birthday. After trying many wands a dusty old box was drawn from the very back of the store and handed to him. The base of the wand was a carved stone with intricate design that flowed into a prickley ash wood at the tip the wand felt feather light in his palm while also being a comfortable weight on his soul. A wave of the wand sent beams of sunlight dancing around the room and the warm feeling Thomas felt in his chest was  the kind of feeling you get when you drink warm soup on a cold winters day. Mr. Olivander let out a cry of joy and promptly told him that this wand was one of only three ever created due to its unique serpent horn core  and that it's brother and sister wand belonged to none other than Chadwick and Webster Boot. Adoptive children of James Steward and Isolt Sayer. His parents told him that it must be fate considering Isolt Sayer and Alastair Sanders were the closest of friends, and, for a moment, Thomas could feel the smile of Isolt from beyond her grave on Greylock Hill.
