COHERENCE (2013) Grade: B-

Felt like a classic sci-fi plot, like a classic Star Trek episode, just a level darker. Clever twist and ending. Got a little slow in the 2nd act. It's low budget but well produced.

Flight World War II (2015)

My rating: 6/10

I mean, it's The Asylum, so of course the production values are shit, but apart from that it... actually doesn't suck? The writing is pretty solid, it's fast paced and actually manages to build up a bit of tension, and the cast does a fairly good job with some rather nice dialogue. For what it is, this is a pretty good movie.

I'm docking it a point for that ridiculous twist at the end, because that doesn't make any sense with what had been previously established re: alternative timelines.

It’s astonishing to me that movies like this are made while actual good movies can’t find financial backing. This guy mysteriously inherits an old resort, so he and a group of friends go check it out. Spoiler alert: He inherited it because his long-lost family consists of a bunch of cannibals and he chooses them over his friends so they all die. And there’s actual incest sex at the end.

Rating: F. What person would actually choose a cannibalistic family they’d never met over their FRIENDS?
