aries: the biggest astrological news of your week is the end of mercury retrograde right in the middle of your sign. you can still anticipate a little bit of shenanigans for a few days afterward since it is so close to home for you, but from here on out a little peaceful normalcy re-enters your life. if you need more chaos it'll have to be the kind you make for yourself.

taurus: aries antics are not yet at an end but in many ways your sign now becomes the star of the show. on some levels this will be quite fun for you, especially if you thrive under positive attention from others. on other levels, the shifts and changes can be overwhelming to your stolid and stable sign. try to be surprised and delighted rather than shocked and dismayed. it's probably not all so bad and if it is, you will prevail.

gemini: the end of a mercury retrograde is always good news for a gemini. your mind clears where there was recently any brain fog or fuzziness. the fumbling and bumbling shifts back to your natural willowy gracefulness. other things are going on this week too but this is the biggest relief for you.

cancerians: mercury retrograde has been hard for the cardinal signs like you, but its end this week is a breath of fresh air. meanwhile a full scorpio moon can also help you recharge any intellectual or mental fatigue you have been experiencing lately, but do expect to be in your feelings a bit about it. not that that's a bad thing, no matter what some might say. it is one of your gifts, how deeply you can feel.

leo: you'll have a lot of strong feelings early on this week but by the weekend your head and heart are much clearer. physical exercise benefits you, so head to a gym or just have a little nice gallivanting outdoors.

virgo: the more mercurial virgoans will feel great relief as mercury goes direct at last. but don't jump in too quickly to any contracts or sharing resources. less mercurial virgoans will be more focused on mars-neptune in pisces, bringing some illusions (or disillusionment) to relationships. emilie du chatelet said our happiness depends on our illusions, so it is ok to embrace them to some degree, but don't let anyone lie to you or do you harm.

libra: this week's astrology portends mainly good things (although also shifting things) in your relationships, perhaps some delusion or manipulation occurring in some routine or place of work, and a full moon involving your money. if you've been financially wise and responsible, this could be great news. if you've let your luxurious venusian tendencies get the better of you recently, perhaps less great.

scorpio: you may find yourself saying mercury schmercury to the folks hyped up about mercury retrograde this week, but it's mostly due to the full moon that occurs in your sign shortly beforehand. your daily routines run smoother than ever but your emotions are heated and overflowing. don't try to cram it down. let it out, in private if need be.

sagittarius: mercury direct again may well herald a creative breakthrough. or, perhaps juicier, a new relationship or fling. or even an affair, if you're that kind of sagittarian.

capricorn: your sign and your cardinal brethren will certainly feel a relief of some tension or disarray as mercury resumes forward motion this week. the first half of the week is also a great time for you to socialize, if you have the time!

aquarius: almost for sure, you'll receive some sort of important or, at minimum, 'interesting' message around the time that mercury ends its retrograde this week. and before that/at the same time, the full moon in scorpio lights up your 10th house of status and legacy, so while you may not want to be out there posting any serious news on your socials, it's ok to take credit for work well done.

pisces: if you can, avoid spending money (especially on anything important) until next week. on the other hand, academic pursuits get a major boost and if you're not an academic, at least get philosophical about something close to your heart. by the end of the week a mars-neptune conjunction gives you energy, although perhaps not of the physical sort. avoid lying to yourself or others.

And let's jump in!

Let's start with the Ascendant, which can represent first meetings, first impressions. It is what they see of each other at first glance. Remus is Capricorn Rising; put-together, ordered, focused. Sirius is Aries Rising; impatient, impulsive, wild. Remus, ruled by the Disciplinarian (Saturn); Sirius ruled by the Warrior (Mars.) Earth (Capricorn) and fire (Aries) don't mix well, but the two share a modality: both are cardinal signs. While the specific energy might not mesh, there is a shared sense of forward motion, and initiative.

Their suns and moons share easier energy. The sun (core, self, ego) in Pisces (Remus) and Scorpio (Sirius), both water signs. Remus' sun speaks of inner joy and whimsy; lost in a dreamworld. Sirius' sun speaks to secrets, and mystery; lost in the deep, dark sea. But water signs tend to be quite emotional, and quite reserved; the inner-self soft and sensitive, and must be hidden, and protected.

The moon (emotions, subconscious) in Leo (Remus) and Sagittarius (Sirius), both fire signs. Remus' moon is bright, warm, expressive, and loyal. Sirius' moon is creative, adventurous, wise, and free-spirited. Their emotions are quite bold and spirited. There is need for exploration, drama, and fun.

In fact: their moons trine one another. Trine means harmony. An easy connection between their emotional worlds. They understand each other, and can communicate well.

But it's not all roses and rainbows with this pair. Remus' Aquarius Mars squares both Sirius' Scorpio Mars, and his Scorpio Sun. Square means tension. Mars is action, and aggression. Mars squaring Mars implies conflict. What drives them both can be so different, and they might each feel they are in the right.

Of all the Marauders, Sirius likely gets on Remus' nerves the most. Remus is quiet, and prone to giving in to the people he loves. From his post:

Worse still: moon in opposition to Venus. The need for harmony led him to giving in too easily. This can cause resentment, but I think Saturn’s hold on Remus turned a lot of that inward. Blaming himself above all others, because he holds himself to a higher standard.

But also:

Mars in the First points to assertive personalities, and taking control. Stepping forward and leading the pack. But tempered by reliability, by righteousness, by caring for the whole. Community over the self.

Sirius has a lot of very intense energy. Scorpio Sun and Mars; Scorpio is dark and deep. Then Sagittarius moon, Mercury, and Jupiter; Sagittarius is wild and free. Aries Rising; Aries is childish and temperamental. He's fun, he takes initiative, but there's also more than meets the eye. Sirius is also best buds with James, and together they're the life of the party. Sirius is charming and popular. More than that, he's privileged in ways. Not that he had it easy, not that he didn't struggle, but he never faced the discrimination Remus lives in fear of, and he's never been out of control of his self, he doesn't have to fear the moon. People see Sirius a certain way, and treat him a certain way. And he likely deals with a sense of entitlement due to his upbringing.

Sirius is a firecracker.

But Remus is a man with a plan. He's the wolf. The Alpha. Beneath the calm, cool, collected surface is a sense of strength and sureness. Remus has convictions, and he's faced challenges. Life lessons drilled into him from an early age. He isn't particularly amused, or impressed, or even charmed by Sirius' antics. Remus puts his foot down and stands up to him more than he might the others. There is something in Sirius that draws out that sense of dominance and purpose.

And for all that squares are difficult, they aren't impossible. The conflict is good for them. It's entertaining, in some ways, keeps life interesting. But they also help each other grow. And in doing so, become all the stronger as a unit for it.

Remus' Pisces Sun and Mercury in opposition to Sirius' Virgo Venus. Oppositions are another area of stress, more intense than a square. There is mutual attraction, but Sirius' concept of love is contrary to who Remus is. Which, to me, is beyond fascinating. When I noted this placement in Sirius' chart, I was surprised by it. Virgo is so quiet and routine compared to the rest of Sirius' wildcard self. Remus' core, with all of its free-flowing whimsy and romanticism might appeal to any other part of Sirius, but when it comes to romance, Sirius is...thoughtful, considerate, focused on small gestures and helpfulness.

Remus might also be a bit detached, viewing the relationship through a more intellectual, logical lens than Sirius, who is being led by the heart. Remus might be overthinking matters (perhaps even blowing them out of proportion) while Sirius waits and wants to give and receive love.

There are, in fact, a lot of areas of struggle between them. Twelve squares, and three oppositions. A total of fifteen difficult connections, but they have sixteen easier connections, too (eight trines, three sextiles, and a whopping FIVE conjunctions (conjunctions being the most intense aspect.)) It's not all bad between them.

Remus' Aquarius Venus sextile Sirius' Sagittarius moon, for instance. Remus' romantic needs in sweet union with Sirius' emotional ones. His Venus also in sextile to Sirius' Aries Ascendant; attraction and friendship and commonality. Remus' Leo moon trining Sirius' Sagittarius Mercury; easy communication. Comfort and sincerity and understanding.

Most compelling to me being Remus' Capricorn Rising in conjunction with Sirius' Capricorn Saturn. In this specific arena, Remus' reaction and interaction to the world around him, is seen and accepted by the part of Sirius that is focused on duty and morality. Strangely, in this specific scenario, Sirius is the more mature one. Sirius can teach (Saturn) Remus how to be cautious, and how to be serious (ba dum tss.)

I had to sit on this one for a bit. The ascendant is more outwards, Saturn more inward. Saturn is the more settled of the two. So why is it that, in this specific area, our wildcard, our firecracker, is the one with his head on his shoulders?

Keeping in mind that Remus' chart ruler is Saturn, and his Saturn is also in Capricorn. And Saturn is domicile in Capricorn, meaning the planet's focus runs optimally on Capricorn energy. Why is our more reserved, more stable character the one who needs to learn?

Mind you, it's not one-sided; Remus lends a hand to Sirius here. There is a lesson in overcoming fear. The ascendant is reaction, remember? Saturn is fear, and lessons. Remus can show Sirius how to move past what's holding him back.

So I think we can apply a similar model to where Sirius is benefitting Remus. How is Saturn holding Remus back? He has high standards for himself; he deals with boatloads of guilt, and fear. Remus is deeply troubled, and hurt. Life has dealt him a harsh hand. He comes with tons of baggage. Saturn ruling his chart has had a huge impact on his life.

And for Sirius, Saturn is a point of seriousness (haha) in an otherwise chaotic chart. This is where he's most grounded. He has a firm, confident (Capricorn) handle on his morals, his duties (Saturn.) But no planet acts in isolation. These parts of Sirius are colored by the rest of his chart.

There is a surprising amount of wisdom in Sirius. I think he calls out, and uncovers, a lot of Remus' weakness, his fear, where he falls short. Things Remus might not have seen, caught up as he is in a rather Saturnarian identity. He's responsible, he's a good boy. But there is so much in him to unpack. He tries his best, but he won't always succeed. He isn't as put together as he thinks he is. But that's okay. Everyone fails. But he can get back up, and try again. There's more to life than pain and suffering.

Being confronted with his own shortcomings, and having them accepted, and facing support and encouragement, will show Remus a new side to Sirius. It will earn his respect. And maybe even his love.

So yes...there are plenty of struggles these two will face. Worse so, I imagine, in their younger years, with all the ignorance and naivety and impetuousness of youth. These areas can be worked on with communication and compromise, but it needs time. They'll be in for a tumultuous ride in adolescence, but I think their older years will provide perspective, and a new appreciation for how the other challenges them, and makes them better. They see all of each other, the good and the bad, and they prove time and again how dedicated they are to each other, and to their relationship.

I know Queen Elizabeth II may pass at any time. In little ways she is saying goodbye. I see that her loved ones understand. I don’t pay much attention to the daily antics of the Harkles. They are repugnant and are being called out by many. I did, however observe, how defiantly The Meg walked into the Intrepid awards. So brazen, self assured and atrociously ill mannered. Will she return to the UK? It seems that in some way, everything is falling apart. Doors seem to be starting to close. Of course, many never opened. Is this what her astrology shows? Thank you.

I don't think Megs will ever return to the UK unless she absolutely cannot avoid returning for whatever reason. 

This is Meghan’s (main) birth chart with her Jamini aspects placed in here. (Jaimini is a different system within Vedic astrology.) It does make the chart look quite messy. Anyhow, Jamini aspects are sign-based, not planet based. Its dasa (time period) system is sign based, rather than based on the planets.

The Moon, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter placed in and aspect the mutable/dwishwabhava signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. This is a fortunate combination for her because it gives Meghan a very good raja yoga via these signs--the lagna/ascendant ruler (Moon) with the 5th lord (Mars), Putra Karaka (Saturn), and 9th lord & great benefic Jupiter. Jupiter also aspects its own houses--Sagittarius & Pisces. 

If you read the chart in this way from Sagittarius, then Meghan has a raja yoga in the 4th (home), 7th (partner/marriage), and 10th (career/activities outside the home) houses. (Raja yogas are beneficial combinations.)

Meghan ran her Sagittarius (Chara) dasa (time period) from August 2012 to August 2021. This is when those raja yogas I mentioned were happening. Meghan is no longer running Sagittarius Chara dasa; she is now running Scorpio dasa, which does not have the raja yoga that the dwishwabhava signs contained. 

The change in Chara dasa basically equates to this 👇

I do think it’s interesting that the change happened this past August (2021). I suspect that is when things started changing for her behind the scenes regarding her lawsuit. It won’t get better because she’s not going to run a more favorable period than that Sagittarius dasa. Ever. 

Scorpio is where her Arudha lagna (ascendant) is. [Where there is a 1P with a pink circle around it.] This is a special kind of ascendant within Jamini. It still represents her as a person, even though it is in a different sign than her regular ascendant (Cancer). Her Dara Pada, which represents her 7th house (marriage) is in Taurus. [Pink circle around the 7P in Taurus.] 

As I noted on the graphic, there is a lunar eclipse happening in Taurus and a Solar eclipse happening in Scorpio. This will affect her 1st (self) and 7th (marriage) houses. I expect to see a big change in her marriage soon, particularly since Venus will go retrograde on 19 December until 29 January 2022. 

On a different note, Megs will run a very unfavorable period during her Scorpio-Aquarius dasa, which runs from 04 April 2026 to 03 November 2026. It will be unfavorable period because Aquarius is her 8th house, and she has adverse (Jamini) aspects to it. The adverse combination being her Gnati karaka (obstacles) [Mercury] and two malefics--Sun & Rahu--all aspecting Aquarius. 

It is a very unfavorable period. Just sayin’.

For ideal types, I’m not going to be doing specific placements of their ideal partner. Instead, I’m gonna be listing personality traits I think would mesh well with them, as well as focus on their needs and the kind of person who could meet them. what this reading cannot account for is the compromising the members would do on their end for their s/o. so just keep in mind this is only half of the whole picture!

when you’re looking at a chart with so many placements in one sign, to get a deeper/more nuanced analysis you can look at the decans.

The crisp breeze bites at your face, a constant reminder of its cooling presence. You’re in an open patch of grass, a rare spot amongst the trees that has a direct line to the sky above.

“That one there”, you point up to a collection of stars, “is the little dipper and that one just underneath”, you point at the stars directly below it, “is the big dipper.” You’ve always had a fascination with stars. The way they twinkle up above as if the cosmos is winking down at Earth’s inhabitants. There’s a magic to them, as much as science loves to deny it. How could things that sparkle like faraway fairies not possess unearthly magic?

The way you cherish the stars is how you convinced your midnight partner to sneak out with you. The moment you met Jack you knew there was something different about him. The way he spoke about the world and the things around him made you curious. You’ve met plenty of souls, old and young, but you’re convinced Jack must be the only brand new soul you’ve ever encountered. He’s sincere and unassuming, looking at everything with fresh eyes, untarnished by popular consensus and usual perspective. “Well I don’t know much but that one star, but it is part of a constellation.”

“It is?” He says cheerily, as if had won a prize. You nod at his enthusiasm.

“That one is Pegasus. In Greek mythology it’s a horse with wings. He carried thunder and lightning for Zeus, ruler of Olympia.” Jack remains staring in wonder for a long while as you pointed out the constellations head, body and legs.

“How do you know that’s what the stars are?”

“Well, I don’t. No one does really”, you reply while also searching for a good answer, “but that’s what people saw them as thousands of years ago.” You let yourselves sit a while in the not quite quiet of the night before continuing. “That’s part of the reason stars are so amazing Jack, they tell us stories that are thousands of years old. It’s our connection to a world we’ll never know.”

You turn your head to look at the boy beside you. His dazzling eyes constantly dart back and forth, trying to simultaneously take in every little star on its own and then all of them as a whole. The moon casts a silver shine upon the soft smile on his lips, his silky locks comfortably framing his forehead.

He’s a vision in the moonlight, more so than under the sun if that was even possible. He seems ethereal, eternal. Like he was made from moon rocks and star dust, born to live under a soft glow amongst the whispers of the night. You get so lost in his grace that you realise too late his entrancing eyes are on yours, causing you to jump slightly.

“Did I scare you?” His question seems serious although you see mischief in his eyes. That little glint of playful trouble gives you an idea, something you’ve always wanted to try but were too scared until now to do.

“Are you tired yet Jack?” You ask, wanting to make sure he was up for more midnight ruckus. He shakes his head vigorously.

“I don’t get tired very often. Even if I was I’d want to stay out with you.” And there it was again, that unabashed way he says what he means. He doesn’t hide or squirm away from anything and you find it impossible not to admire him for it. You stand swiftly, walking over and offering your hands which he accepts, allowing himself to be yanked to his feet.

“Come with me, I have an idea.” You start off into the surrounding trees, making to release Jack’s hands. To your surprise as you lead your way through the night in the tight knit clan of trees he does not relinquish your hand, tightly holding your right in his left. Not that you mind, quite the opposite. His soft skin on yours is calming, much like his presence but in a way being with him could never quite provide. It’s like being anchored, knowing no matter what you’ll be safe with your hand in his.

You reach your pre-thought destination, a lake on the other side of the trees with a mossy wharf leading part way in. The sight is as beautiful as you’d pictured it would be, the sharp intake of air beside you showing Jack agrees.

It’s as if you’d placed a giant mirror on the ground. The sky reflects so clearly in the still night water that if you jump in you might just be able to make your way to Mercury, or even further. You intend to see. With Jack still holding your hand you lead him to where the ground meets the old splintering wood of the wharf.

“Have you ever heard of skinny dipping?” You ask, breathless at the notion you’d just proposed. The quirk in his eyebrows tells you he hasn’t. “It’s when you take off all of your clothes and jump in the water.” He looks at your face, trying to process the new concept you’ve relayed.

“I thought people didn’t like to be naked around each other?” His query makes you laugh, with him though, never at him.

“A lot of people don’t. That’s why it’s so thrilling.” You’re unsure of yourself as you reach down and pull off your thick sweater, throwing it to the ground. The singlet underneath leaves you still completely clothed, but your heart pounds in your chest as if trying to escape its cavity. “Do you want to try it?” You don’t want to make uncomfortable and you definitely don’t want to scare him away, but as you keep eye contact while discarding your singlet you see no judgement or apprehension in his starry brown eyes, only curiosity.

This is never normally like you, you think as you stand and wait for the next move. You’re usually reserved, the last one to agree to anything and the first to leave. It’s this boy, his magnetic force and the stars impulsive light compelling you to be daring. And who are you to deny the stars, to turn your back on mother moon?

The smile that appears on Jack’s face tells you the night didn’t lead you astray. You’re both taking your clothes off now, quickly hopping out of pants and throwing pesky cotton aside until you are standing face to face, baring all.

“You sure you want to do this?” His smile simply widens at your question, holding a hand out in between your naked forms for you to take. You happily accept his mooring hand as you make your way to the edge of the wharf, peering down into the icy still water.

“It’s going to be really cold.” You whisper, suddenly a little unsure despite the fact your clothes are gone and his hand is holding yours.

“Wouldn’t that be part of the thrill?” His question was not intended to act as affirming, yet that’s exactly what it was. You offer up a count of three, every number you count you inch your toes more off the edge.

You scream the final number, both of you leaping forward in unison to disrupt the still of the quiet lake below. The water is freezing just as you’d assumed, feeling like small needles cover every inch of your bare body. When you emerge from beneath Jack is already above, swiping his hair from his eyes.

“I told you it would be really cold.” You shiver out, moving your limbs about to encourage warmth to your appendages. He nods his head, agreeing you were right. You start to swim away from the wharf, blurring the perfect picture of the night with every movement.

You turn to face Jack seeing steady brown eyes on yours, that mischief unknown to him blatant to you. Impulsively you splash a small wave of frigid water over him, causing a splutter of complaint. He retaliates on a larger scale, eliciting yelps of excitement from you as you try to evade the icy onslaught. It’s no use. Eventually he is upon you, ceasing your wrists in his grip to prevent further attacks, locking you in his gaze.

“Have you ever seen a shooting star?” You ask seemingly out of the blue, earning a shake of the head from Jack. “I think two must have fallen the day you were born Jack.”

“Why?”

“Because they’re here.” You gently tap under his eyes indicating your meaning. “Either that or you stole them from above.” He smiles once more, a genuine, sincere one at your allusion.

Not long after your bodies can take no longer and you’re forced to emerge from the grips of the lake. Jack walks you home, refusing to let you go alone. When you reach your door he insists you have another night to watch the stars and you have no inclination to deny him.

“So you know Y/N”, he whispers during his goodbye, “I think you’re just as much as a thief as me.” He delicately touches the space under your eyes, keeping gaze as he does. He shifts his finger and gently touches your nose as a goodbye, turning to make his way back home

What would the stars have thought watching you tonight, you wonder? Would the moon have been frowning while the dippers laughed at your antics? Would Pegasus have been stern while Aquarius admiring your youth?

You’re not exactly sure the stars appreciated you as much as you and Jack them, but you can’t find it within yourself to care, the entrancing retreating boy’s acceptance more than making up for any judgement the sky could give.

Scorpio Sun and Pisces Moon makes a Sextile, which is a pretty good and harmonious aspect. They have a natural and almost telepathic-like connection, so this can give you great intuition, amazing psychological understanding, lots of compassion and something like a “sixth sense”, as well as a pretty realistic view of yourself. A Scorpio Sun might feel a bit annoyed by a Pisces’ Moons wish to relax and take things slowly, and a Pisces Moon might be anxious about a Scorpio Moons bold antics, but it’s nonetheless a good aspect. They both share their love for uncovering mysteries and like to get to the core of things; they are in fact both not at all interested in anything superficial.

Aquarius Risings are known for being outwardly eccentric, maybe even “alien-like” (in the sense that some people just don’t know what to make of them), quick-witted and sharp-tongued. It’s also a much more extroverted and social placement than Scorpio Sun and Pisces Moon, so while this could make you good at talking to people (this honestly depends a lot on the rest of the birth chart), your Water placements aren’t a fan of socialising. I have a very introverted Sun and Moon as well, and I’m always confused about how much I tend to talk because of my Air Rising (+ Air Mercury). It just drains me, haha. Maybe you know that feeling too.

On the other hand, Aqua Risings have no interest in conforming to rules if they don’t make sense to them, or in doing something simply because it’s expected of them. They want to be in charge and they value their freedom. That’s something they have in common with Scorpios Suns and Pisces Moons. That, and an almost unhealthy curiosity. Though Scorpio Sun & Aqua Rising also makes a Square… and I’m pretty familiar with Scorpio/Aqua Squares; if you aren’t careful, they can make you sardonic and even bitter.

Also, I’m a bit scared of you. Scorpios Moons are known for being human lie detectors, Pisces Moons are famous for their sixth sense, and Aqua Rising are known to being very smart - I have the feeling it would be difficult to hide something from you. Especially as the Pisces Sun I am. (Since the Moon tells you which Sun signs you understand especially well.) But I admire Scorpios for their passion, resilience and sincerity, and Water Moons for their depth and almost superhuman like intuition, so I’m more scared in a good kind of way.

About your other questions:

Pisces season can be tough for sure, because, yes, it can make you want to isolate yourself and it forces you to look inward, even when you don’t want to. Pisces Sun is mysterious, hazy and dreamlike - it’s not at all clear about its intentions and it can make it difficult to connect to reality, especially when you’re a Water sign yourself. This can be both a good and a bad thing, because while it’s good for introspection and acquiring wisdom… we simply don’t always have the time for that. Just staying in bed is obviously not always an option.

That’s something I sometimes experience myself too, yep, but I still kind of like Pisces season.

Lmao ok so i know aqua and scorpio sound like an odd couple. Doyoung’s aqua sun is like chill bro but with depth. Aqua suns tend to be on the chill side, while they do tend be a bit of a dickhead button pusher sometimes, its more for social flare tbh. They like doing it because they like the attention it gives them in social settings even tho theyd never admit it. Quite similarly to your scorpio sun, aquas tend to remain closed off to people because even though people think they know aquas dont really let people in. They also tend to be loyal to a fault for the ones that they love. Your scorpio sun would compliment this because you are somewhat shyer version of his aqua sun. Scorpios pass judgment on people easily because they can read them very well, but unlike aquas they have a filter. They also dont like to open up to people very much and are loyal to a fault. I think you two would get on well because you are so similar and Doyoung’s aqua sun is more outgoing so hed be able to draw you out as opposed to another water sign. 

Now both of you have water moons which I feel like is very important for this pairing because Doyoung’s cancer moon softens him and makes him more aware of other’s feelings. This would make more likely to know when to draw the line with his aqua antics and while scorpio isnt superficially very emotional they tend to take things to heart easily. So you both having water moons would make you both more cognizant of your effect on each other. 

Now your scorpio venus is such a soft placement tbh. Scorpio venus people choose one person and then they become best friends with them and just want to love them and they dont care how many times it goes wrong they really just want to make sure that person knows they love them. Doyoung’s pisces venus would thrive off of how much love you gave him because it makes his pisces venus feel needed and reassured. 

Now both of you have aqua mars which make you have the same fighting style but the thing about aqua mars is that they dont fucking know when it is time to just let it go and its pointless to keep arguing. I feel like this could lead to some sticky situations where you guys end up saying things to each other in the heat of the moment just to insult each other, however, hopefully your water moons can do damage control and realize when enough is enough.

What the Water Gave Me

NASA released pictures from the James Webb Space Telescope about a week ago, one in particular called the Cosmic Cliffs. Even without attaching it to this post, if you’ve seen the dazzling--almost trippy in its existence--photos, you probably know which one I’m talking about. It’s the one landscape that looks like mountains sprinkled generously with stars, some of them apparently galaxies yet to be discovered. It’s a breathtaking, humbling photo. Previously invisible, looking at these high resolution photos bring an immense feeling of being a speck of dust in an otherwise enormous universe. Nothing matters, I guess, in the grand scheme of things. Now, that sentiment could make you feel invincible or shockingly aware of your mortality. It’s beautiful in all respects.

In a semi-serious opinion: to get to know a person, you must have their natal chart on-hand and a grasp on how astrology works, or if not, someone immersed in the esoteric who can determine how placements can affect personality or compatibility. I’ve always subscribed to this belief, being in agreement with how seen I felt upon knowing what mine means. How I have had a sense of comfort in navigating through life with careful consideration and self-awareness of who I am as a person. Alongside that big three, a look into someone’s Venus, Mars, or Mercury placements in conjunction with mine gives me a general idea of how our interactions would occur, validating the hiccups, maybe even triumphs. A lot of people would be so unbelieving of the stars, but really: how are we to know?

The basics of a natal chart in layman’s terms rely on the big three signs: sun, moon, rising. I’ve always reveled in how my big three includes fire, water, and air. How I lack the grounding of an earth sign, the sheer coincidence that most of the people I consider to be my best friends have an earth sign as their Sun. I’ve always felt pride in being a Sagittarius sun, but somewhat irked about how much of a juxtaposition it is next to my Cancer moon, yet believable when you know that my ascendant is Aquarius. If I were to summarize how I am as a person, it’s probably someone who’s up for anything yet easily and heavily wounded emotionally, while having the rationality to avoid succumbing to my delusions. I’m always on some sort of high, tampered by feeling, and it sucks for someone just becoming heavy-handed with detachment to preserve my peace and sanity. I recognize that tendency whenever I feel so deeply I have no choice but to cry all night about everyone and everything. I could cut the bullshit and pin the blame on trauma, but really, why take the whimsy out of my misery?

Tears. A lot of them. I used to be so embarrassed being this way, quick to tear up. I feel myself cringing every time I remember myself as a high schooler, bawling my eyes out to friends and previously uninterested classmates in the vicinity, the moment I found out the guy I’ve been seeing had been two-timing me and his long-distance girlfriend while everyone knew and I didn’t. Every time I called a friend, crying, or even just gave anyone the satisfaction of seeing me cry or knowing that I do, in private. It’s so natural yet so...gross to me, this vulnerability that should have been reserved to me and some people who care. Never mind that my paleness is quick to manifest how red my face can get from the pressure, how my cheeks are hot and my nose a cherry. It’s shame in vulnerability, in knowing that someone or something affected me enough to cause a physical reaction--an undoing, unraveling, whatever. Maturity should feel like stone, but often, I find myself comparing it to wet mud. I crumble.

In recent years, tired of my theatrics, I’ve taken to trying to manage my big emotions; perhaps in an uninformed, avoidant way that does more harm than good. I would be too busy consuming media, exercising, or bending over backwards to ease my overachieving antics to even think too much to the point of tears. I would cry only a little to movies or books, but keep my tears from my experiences in a reservoir; my body. I imagine it sloshing inside of me, a noise I can’t quiet, waiting for release every time I do this. It’s not so exhausting when you’re a busy person, sometimes I think I’ve learned to live with/as water. I think of Frida Kahlo’s painting, What the Water Gave Me (Lo que agua me dio, 1938), also the Florence + the Machine song of the same title. Speaking of Florence, I think of another song, Never Let Me Go, with the lyrics: And the arms of the ocean are carrying me / And all this devotion was rushing out of me / And the crashes are heaven for a sinner like me / But the arms of the ocean delivered me. I think of the word, “cathartic,” how it feels in my mouth, my body. How it feels so real in the verge of tears when they finally fall. It’s probably why it’s hard to stop, a dam breaking throughout the night. The depiction of the color blue as anything water, despite transparency, or for that matter--anything sad.

So many remnants of art and pop culture could be connected to the act of crying that I can’t begin to count them, but I know that when I do it, it probably does not resemble Audrey Hepburn wearing that wedding dress in Funny Face (1957) with the tear cradled by her cheek, so elegant in her pain. I think about this desire for beauty, how it fractures every part of my being in more ways than one. How can crying be anything other than what it is, how can I make this poetic when all I feel at the moment is pain mingled with the shame of being made aware of it? I think of all the silent tears shed: UPD classrooms, Sunken Garden, running at night, my bed frequently, sitting next to people feeling like a time bomb unnoticed...the list goes on. I could qualify as a “crybaby,” I wouldn’t oppose to the title. Lesley Gore lives on: it’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to!

Like stars, tears are perhaps unquantifiable. I sit on how complex feelings could get, how easily even memories of pain trigger tear ducts, and the pile up of unspoken or unrecognized hurts that leave my body in the form of water. It would be easy to cry on cue, I have a catalog of things that bring me to tears stored in my head. For example, Connell breaking down on the phone to Marianne in Normal People, after he recognizes he fucked up, and the weight of her absence starts to feel heavy, even on the viewer/reader. Thinking about my life, with its beautiful moments and incredibly hurtful ones, pulling out a repressed memory will have the same effect. I think about how my best friend Rona tells me I have a tendency to minimize my feelings. I wonder if rationalizing my emotions, in an attempt to regulate them or delude myself, is actually invalidating to me. A disservice. In other times, tears could come up through joy, but rarely. In truth, crying to me looks more like Logan Lerman as Charlie in Perks of Being A Wallflower (2012) during his breakdown. It’s raw, even numbing--dare I say it, ugly. We want to look away from it, as if seeing bright stars; that as much as we want to stare, we’re rendered unable. 

Among other delusions, I also believe that I have high pain tolerance. Physically or emotionally, I feel that I am one of those people that take things well despite me knowing I can be spiteful most times, instead of inspiring as others would perceive. It’s really not an ode to my resilience. The decision to move forward and make the most of situations is merely survival mode, self-preservation. I do not know what the big 10 is on my personal scale, because even in deep pains I refuse to name it as the extreme. I live knowing that there will be worse pains in my future, but a consolation could be that there will be also be grander joys. If we’re so insignificant, why should it matter? However, I realize that in the wide expanse of the universe and everything else, I was made to exist. Among all else, we’re still here. It must account for something. It must be worth it, in this life, to shed those tears, disregarding shame and marveling in how we have that capability for release. To feel so deeply, in the unknown.
