Mikey Way interview with Tina Whelski for The Aquarian | Dec 29th 2010
Full interview under the cut
When your gut says destroy the album you just finished and start over, you should listen. Thatâs what My Chemical Romance decided on Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (Reprise), the bandâs fourth studio album and follow up to 2006âs critically acclaimed Black Parade.
After a grueling two-year Black Parade tour, My Chemical Romance realized that what they really missed was color. So in the 11th hour frontman Gerard Way, his brother, bassist Mikey Way, and guitarists Frank Iero and Ray Toro scrapped the album they mixed with producer Brendan OâBrien and ran with their instincts. They werenât going to be the My Chemical Romance they had been. They would be the My Chemical Romance they had become. The band rejoined Black Parade producer Rob Cavallo and weeks later turned out an album they could stand by.
My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way explains how the bandâs hunch paid off.
Whatâs the biggest difference between My Chemical Romance on Black Parade and the band on Danger Days?
I think weâre the most fearless that weâve ever been. I also think itâs the album thatâs most true to us. On previous albums we only showed maybe one or two sides of the band. I mean each album is dramatically different, but I think we looked a specific way and people had an idea what we sounded like. I think now more than ever weâre like a completely new My Chemical Romance and itâs kind of a My Chemical Romance thatâs been there all along. We really feel super liberated and it feels like nothingâs holding us back.
The band changed course while recording Danger Days. When did you realize that you were creating something different than planned?Â
When we got off the road for Black Parade we were all very tired and there were many successes and whatnot, but there were also things that we didnât like about how it went. And there were things that we wanted to change. So we set up all these parameters for ourselves. When we went in to write the record we were like, âItâs going to be raw, stripped down, no costumes, no concept. Just a rock ânâ roll album. Weâre going to do it real quick. Bam bam bam.â The result at the end wasnât something we were ultimately happy with. It just sounded like something was missing. It was literally ready to go. Weâd done photo shoots and we were scheduling shows and radio stations were going to start playing songs. Then at the 11th hour we all came to the mutual decision that something didnât feel right. And we pulled the plug on it.
Thatâs a real leap of faith when everythingâs stacked up.
Yeah, itâs like we learned more than ever on this album to go with our guts. If youâre feeling something then itâs probably true. Weâve kept that mantra through the whole process so weâre really very aware about how weâre all feeling about things. Going with our gut has become a very important thing.
Gerard has called this album âA big pop art project.â With characters like Dr. Death Defying and the post-apocalyptic world you paint, everything seems to live together, but you donât consider this a concept album. Can you talk about what you imagined?Â
Yeah, itâs kind of exactly that. Itâs a giant pop art project. To call it just an album is, I think, selling it short. There are so many different aspects and layers to it. We really wanted to use art as a weapon and use pop music as a weapon. We wanted to express ourselves in a way weâve never expressed ourselves before and dispel anybodyâs preconceived notions of what a My Chemical Romance song could be. Itâs not just guitar, drums, bass and vocals. Thereâs so much more to it than that. We wanted to really make songs that weâve always dreamed of making. Itâs kind of like we got ownership of the band back. We released the Black Parade and any kind of misunderstanding or negativity that came out of it I think has been rectified with this album.
It was fun to see Grant Morrison play the villain in the âNa Na Naâ and âSingâ videos.Â
It was so cool to finally get to work with him. Heâs one of our best friends and weâve been itching to do something together. When we were coming up with things for the album we were like, âHeâs the ultimate villain.â I mean heâs such a sweetheart, but if you look at him, heâs just got this amazing look about him, like he can be the ultimate Bond villain. Heâs got so many different sides to him. Heâs just a big teddy bear at heart but his visage is very intense.
Heâs an amazing writer. Whatâs your favorite comic?
Oh, whatâs your favorite?
I like We3 and Arkham Asylum, but I definitely want to read more.
Arkham Asylum would go down as one of my favorites. I love all his work heâs done recently with Batman. I love the All-Star Superman run he did. The Justice League run was one of the best superhero comics Iâve ever read. The Invisibles. The Doom Patrol run he did in the â90s. Everything heâs touched is just so fantastic. He changed comic books in the same way the Beatles changed music.
Is there a song on the record thatâs more special to you?
Yeah, I think our mutual favorite in the band is the âKids from Yesterday.â To me the song is like a time machine. You listen to it and it makes us all think about growing up and it makes you think about being a kid. And then it makes you think about being a teenager. And it makes you think about where you are now and where youâre going. Itâs kind of like the movie Itâs a Wonderful Life. Thatâs the kind of journey I go on when I listen to that song. Itâs just a very somber, introspective song and just one of the most powerful choruses Iâve heard in a rock song. Another favorite of mine is âS/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W.â
Thatâs really different for you guys.
Yeah, it shows a dramatically different side to us. You know we all have such varied musical tastes and thatâs one of them. We love that type of thing. And to finally be able to put something like that on one of our albums is a huge victory.
What song will be the most fun to play live?
Wow, letâs see. We just did a tour in Europe where we got to play about four [new] songs. We were alternating which four. They were all pretty amazing. âPlanetary (Go!)â has taken on a crazy new life live. It got an immediate reaction from the crowd. They reacted to âPlanetaryâ almost like they would have reacted to âIâm Not Okay.â It was this immediate explosion from the crowd. It looked like an avalanche of bodies. They were pogoing in unison. By the middle of the song they knew the words. It was just something else.
âSingâ is also a very special song. Itâs a sentiment weâve always wanted to say, you know, to be the best you that you can possibly be on any given day. And just try to make a positive difference in your own world or in the world outside you. Thereâs just magic to it. And the song itself is so emotional and moving and how it was written was real special. How it grew day by day, just layer by layer. Everyone would add his own touch to it. Itâs one of the songs Iâm most proud of on the album.
My Chemical Romance performs at the 101.9 RXP Yule Rock in New York on Dec. 3. Learn more at mychemicalromance.com.

L.S. Dunes: âA Brand New Adventureâ
The Dunes dudes are five veteran rockers whose professional musicianship coexists with their personal friendship, shaping new and modern artistry that knows no rules and no bounds. Weâre proud to live in their world, honored to experience DunesDay, and appreciative of their bond with both each other, and us.
Words by Valentino Petrarca Photos by Mark Beemer November 23, 2022
Most supergroups are defined by the members and the former projects theyâre in. Doing so with L.S. Dunes would be selling the project short and doing Past Lives a disservice. This is wholeheartedly its own entity. It sounds nothing like weâve heard before and stands on its own by the music itself.Â
The band consists of our friends, Anthony Green, best known as Circa Surviveâs beloved vocalist, and Frank Iero, My Chemical Romance guitarist with side projects galore. Tucker Rule, drummer for the incomparable band Thursday, and Tim Payne, Thursdayâs bassist, round out the quintet with guitarist Travis Stever, lead shredder for Coheed and Cambria. Itâs an impressive lineup â one filled with talent and camaraderie â and despite any preconceived notions, listeners will soon realize that this project sounds nothing like theyâd expect. L.S. Dunes is not an endeavor rooted in nostalgia, but rather helps push the scene of rock music forward with experimentation and the reminder that art is supposed to be fun and expressive at its core. The music weâve heard so far feels like the five members are creatively at their best and together, as a band, are putting their best foot forward.
Past Lives dropped earlier this month on November 11. This LP is a complex musical journey that travels through many different soundscapes and lyrical themes. Grit and enthusiasm is laced into every song. A band with members as successful as these could have easily phoned in a quick, simple album to get a paycheck. L.S. Dunes defied that bland expectation and unfortunate trend to truly put their heart and soul into every track on Past Lives. It is an album that sounds like nothing else weâve heard before â each track is original and exciting, yet somehow seamless as every song lends itself to the next, thus creating an experience that encourages full, cover-to-cover album listening. Keep in mind that right when you think youâve heard the best song on the album, another one comes around the bend quickly, pummeling twice as hard.
The Aquarian had the incredible privilege to sit down via Zoom with Frank, Tucker, and Tim to catch up on the new album, the reception of their debut, and the formation of the band. Below is that delightfully raw conversation.
First question right out the gate: Past Lives finally out, so how are you feeling?
Frank: It feels amazing, man. So far we had the record release show at Fingerprints and then last night we had our first proper show with the record out at the Garden Amphitheater. It was amazing to actually be able to play these songs and have kids know them. Itâs a dream come true, you know? Weâve been holding onto this secret for so long now. To finally have it out in the world⊠fuck, man, thatâs what itâs all about.
Tucker: It was such a big part of our lives that only we knew about. Itâs kind of like we were lying to everybody in a weird way. Now itâs finally like we can tell the truth.Â
Frank: Yeah, totally.Â
How long were you guys holding onto this secret for? You had formed the band, you started writing these songs â how long did you have to sit on that?
Tim: Two years almost!
Frank: [Two years] from when we got the first demos back from Anthony. That was the thing â we were in the pandemic together sending some things back and forth. You know, life happens and everybodyâs got kids, so it was a process of working on it but at the same time there was no stress, there was no time limit, there was no expectation of what this was going to turn into or when this was going to turn into anything. It was slow moving, but it kept us going collectively. I think the moment we got the first demo back from Anthony was when we knew it was going to be a real band. Thatâs when we had the secret, basically.
What was it like hearing the mastered music for the first time? You have so many different influences coming together from every band in your background. I imagine the first time you hear everything finished as L.S. Dunes that is has to be a cool feeling.
Frank: Oh, absolutely.
Tim: Yeah, yeah! That was the thing that was really cool. We basically recorded this album three times â we did the demos and then we went in for a full pre-production session. We get to hear it go from ideas and demos and piecing it together to full song structure where we can really add the nuances. Even after that, we bring it to Will [Yip] and have him have his hands on everything and see have it all take shape. Just looking back and seeing, âThis was just a guitar riff,â or âThis was just a drum beat,â at one point and seeing it come to fruition? Itâs actually here in the world? Itâs amazing to actually hear it and have people hearing it.
Frank: IÂ feel like the sounds that Will got off this record are things Iâve been chasing for years. Itâs crazy how energetic and live and fresh all the songs sound. I donât think I ever heard a record that sounds like this. Itâs maybe one of my favorite sounding records Iâve ever been part of.
Tucker: The most special thing I find about the record and the writing process was I feel like every part that every person put in was their initial gut reaction. I remember when we recorded Full Collapse (2001) back in the day. That excitement of being young came through on that record. Now as weâre in adulthood here, I think capturing that first gut reaction is just like capturing that excitement as a kid. Itâs that same feeling over again, just 20 years later as an adult⊠which is insane.
Frank: I agree with that.
What is just so cool is you have all these masterminds of this post-hardcore/punk/emo world â whatever you want to call it, the scene â coming together. Thursday revolutionized it, My Chemical Romance is one of its biggest bands, Coheed and Cambriaâs edge, Circa Surviveâs melody⊠everybody brings their own little flair. I think thatâs going back to what you were saying, Frank, about how it doesnât sound like anything weâve heard before from any of the bands.Â
Frank: Itâs true. What I think is so special about this record is that there are elements that feel familiar, but in a brand new way. It still feels like a fresh, brand new band and itâs exciting in that way. I donât get a nostalgic [feeling] when I hear this record and Iâve never heard that from any of the interactions that Iâve had with anyone else who has heard [Past Lives]. There are these familiar melodies that give you a sense of feeling at home when you listen to it, but at the same time, itâs a brand new adventure.Â
Absolutely! Now, Tim, I know you mentioned working with Will Yip as a producer. He is one of the most incredible producers in the scene currently. How did that relationship start? How did that unfold into what it is?
Tim: Anthony had recorded with Will a few times with Circa and his solo stuff. He had always been someone that I think everyone in the band, at some point, had always been like, âOh, it would be really awesome to work with him.â Heâs had such a big hand in so many records. I think we got on a call with him and just the initial reaction was that he was as excited as we were. I think that was kind of the mantra for the whole band: everyone is welcome to be involved as long as you bring the same amount of enthusiasm and excitement and not have any preconceived idea of what the process is going to be â or should be. Everyone just kind of let it happen and let their own creativity have a voice in the process. I mean⊠that was just awesome. It was so cool.
Tucker: Yeah, Will is an amazing dude and heâs also a ripping guitar player, a ripping drummer. I think a big thing about this band is that we donât have any ego with this. You know what I mean? If he has a drum part that he thinks is cooler or an idea for something, Iâm down to explore it. If he has a guitar part he thinks is cool or a sound in mind, weâre down to explore it. I think thatâs the collaborative thing weâre looking for. Weâre trying to incorporate as many friends as possible in this whole extravaganza.Â
Frank: Thatâs the thing, man. I feel like the thing you learn over the years â and itâs very rare when bands learn it early on â is that it is always about servicing the art and servicing the song. Itâs never, âOh, but this part I wrote is so cool when I play it.â Yeah, no one gives a fuck if it ruins the song, man. Youâre not a songwriter. Youâre not a band. You want to be a solo artist and thatâs cool. You want to be a virtuoso or whatever? Ok. But when they work together, thatâs fucking perfect, and it doesnât make any sense when it doesnât service the song. I feel like all of us collectively have had enough experience and know the game enough to realize whatâs truly important. I was scared about that but also so relieved to find there were no egos in the band when it came to that kind of shit. Thatâs why it works so well.
Yeah! Thatâs the thing: the fans, we can sense that. We know when a song is genuine, if a song has that emotional heart and soul to it. You can just tell by the reception. You have one record out and over 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. I feel like the fans really gravitated towards this because they knew this is for the art. This isnât just trying to make a supergroup for the sake of making a supergroup. You guys have a real vision.
Frank: Yeah, man! Never in my life have I ever been like, âIâm going to start a band so it does this this and this,â checking these boxes. Itâs always like, âOh, that sounds really cool. I want to play with that person. I want to write music with that person. I want to create with that person.â Thatâs the reason you start a band. Everything else is bullshit. You can smell that from a mile away. Thereâs a lot of them out there â we all know what they are â and some of them have been on the cover of your magazine.
Tucker: And itâs crazy. I feel like this is meant to be. Everywhere we go we see something that is like the symbol of the band. We were at a vegan restaurant the other day and the server was awesome and she had a scorpion tattooed on her arm. Iâm on a boat on an emo cruise and thereâs like a triangle with a lightning bolt in it. There were these orange poppy flowers earlier today. Theyâre everywhere. This was supposed to happen.
Exactly. The reception has been astounding. I even wanted to ask and you guys all mentioned it: how itâs just about getting together with friends you admire creatively and have known each other for years now. Years! At what point is it like, âAlright, letâs do it â letâs start a project together.â
Frank: You always say that! Weâve said that probably 30 times over the last two years but never have the time to do it. Itâs something you just say, like, âOh, thatâd be great,â but nobody has the time to do it. If you do get the time to hang out, you just want to fucking hang out. The pandemic is really what happened, man. No one had anything going on, everyoneâs life just slowed to a halt, and it was awful. People lost their lives, they lost their livelihoods. A lot of terrible terrible shit happened. I also feel like the few of us that were able to weather the storm were able to find a little bit of a silver lining.; just kind of taking a step back to start appreciating things that were taken from us. Having the time to just spend with family, to get to do the silly little things on a daily basis that you put off then itâs like, âWow, now Iâm too old to do that.â We took that time and we came together and made something beautiful out of it. Not to get fucking spiritual, but thatâs what this shitâs all about. We live in a world that can be very beautiful if you want it to be. It can be very ugly, too. To find the beauty in that ugliness is kind of our job as artists, donât you think? So thatâs what we did.
Tucker: Weâre all fortunate enough to work in music and to be in bands that allow us to tour across the world and have people sing along. I think when that happens early on you develop these friendships with people like we did in all of our early touring days. But then your bands all go in different directions â literally in different directions. Somebodyâs on tour in San Francisco and somebodyâs on tour in New Jersey. You go all over the place. You donât see everyone for like 20 years. Maybe you see them at a festival here and there. Like Frank was saying about the pandemic, I think thatâs the one thing where the world stopped, but we just didnât want to. Weâre not used to stopping and sitting still.
That makes sense. You mentioned about obviously being Jersey-based. I want to ask how that Jersey scene has influenced you guys. You talk about New Jersey in Thursday songs, of course, and in My Chem songs, of course, and in Coheed songs, of course. Thereâs so much in every band about that specific NJ culture. You guys have been writing music for 20-30 years now, I want to know how itâs still influencing you to this day.
Tucker: Iâll tell you right off the bat â the reason why Thursday became a band is because we wanted to play in our singer Geoffâs basement. He had a bunch of shows coming through there before we even thought about any band. Just growing up in New Jersey, being able to be around music and seeing shows constantly, was huge. Thatâs literally the reason why we started to be band: just to play in that fucking basement.
Frank: Honestly, the thing that carries through so much about that state or the tri-state area is work ethic. You know what I mean? Thereâs so many fucking bands. There are so many musicians. There are so many opportunities to get out there and prove yourself. When you get up there you better be good because there are 100 other motherfuckers trying to take your spot.
Tim: Yeah!
Frank: Thatâs the thing. Itâs a competitive but also incestuous place where everyone plays with everybody. Everyone kind of cuts their teeth around the same time. You canât not be serious because if youâre not then get the fuck out of the way. Weâve got a lot of people out here that are trying to make this shit work and are really serious about it. You could go to a local show and see 10 fucking amazing bands that will blow your mind on a fucking Wednesday! That was Jersey.
Tucker: Or on a Thursday [Laughs].
Frank: Or on a Thursday, this is true! Iâve got to tell you, half of those shows that I went to go see, that I snuck into see, had Thursday playing and they blew my goddamn mind. It made me want to be in a band. I wanted to do that. I loved being out there and watching it, but I needed to be up there doing that. Thatâs what keeps coming through.Â
Absolutely. I love New Jersey. Iâm originally from Rhode Island, actually, and I love that state with all my heart, but in Rhode Island a show will come through once a month if youâre lucky. Then moving to Jersey over the last four to five years, every night there is something! Even now in 2022 thereâs a DIY basement show you can go to every night. Thereâs a venue show every night. Amphitheater shows every night. Thereâs always something. Something in the air in and around Jersey makes the culture so strong.
Frank: And whatâs cool too about those shows is itâs not just one genre. You go see a show thereâs a ska band playing with a folk artist or a hardcore band playing with this punk band. Thatâs my CD collection â it doesnât make any sense, itâs just great music. You get exposed to so much. It just changes you and changes your whole world view.
As artists, thatâs what it should be about. You want to listen to music that just makes you feel something. It doesnât matter if its metal or hardcore⊠I see that a lot in the hardcore scene. Itâs like, âOh, thatâs not heavy enough.â It doesnât matter! Itâs just got to be fun! Do you like it or do you not like it?
Frank: Thereâs going to be gatekeepers and assholes everywhere. I get it, too. When I was young I had a very strict set of rules of how punk rock should be. You know, the punk rock God sitting on the couch at home in his momâs basement.
Tucker: If we followed the rules this record would have never been written, because we would have all quit music like everyone said to do and gotten real jobs. Starting a band is definitely not what youâre supposed to do in a global pandemic, especially when your industry is dying.
Frank: Itâs true!
Tucker: I think by following the rules, this never would have happened. All of our bands never would have happened if we followed the fucking rules.
youtube
Even what youâre saying Tucker, every one of you guys already have a massively successful band. You donât need to start this, you want to. It serves no logical purpose to start L.S.Dunes, but thank God you guys did it. Thank God it exists.Â
Tucker: Every person in this band⊠itâs like having a loose tooth. You keep playing with it. Thatâs what we want to do. Staying sharp, writing songs is important to all of us. Staying sharp practicing our instruments is important. So when you can practice your craft but also write songs to challenge yourself, then this comes out of it, itâs ridiculous. How the fuck did this happen?
Frank: Yeah, I think thatâs the thing: you have a collection of lifers and not just, âpunk rockersâ or âscene guys.â You have a collection of musicians that just love the craft. What goes into making a song, what goes into starting a band, what the aesthetic is going to be behind it? All of that is such an art form. It can be lost in a digital age where everything is immediate and you have a thousand discographies in your pocket that you never fucking listen to. Itâs a lost art form. That lost art of creating from nothing⊠man, thatâs what I grew up on. My dad was a drummer, my grandfather was a drummer. They were musicians, they talked about gigs and creating all the time. Thatâs how they connected. I needed to learn that secret language or be a part of that secret society in order to connect with them. Thatâs kind of where I cut my teeth.
Absolutely! You talk about that creativity and that art form. I also think that shows in the album, Past Lives. This doesnât feel like 11 singles. This feels like a record. Listening to this album start to finish you hear every track fitting in where it belongs. That might just be the way I personally picked up on it, but was that an intentional choice on the bandâs part?
Frank: Absolutely.
Tim: I think that we put a lot of thought into every song so as you go through itâs almost like sculpture. As things present themselves, thereâs obvious places that they should fit. I think that as certain songs came about you kind of get a feel for which ones work together either musically, lyrically, or a combination of the two. At a certain point, once we realized we were able to write songs, they happened very easily â not to say it was easy. You want to put yourself in a position where youâre creating an album. The way that music is right now, you listen to one song from one band and then you make a playlist and you listen to just mixtapes all the time. I think that when we were getting into music initially, the thing that grabbed me wasnât individual songs but fully fleshed out albums. I think thatâs how we all approached it and thatâs why it worked so well.
Tucker: At the same time I also feel like we never were saying, âThis record needs this song.â You know what I mean? Because there was never really a record to begin with. We were just kind of writing songs together and at a point it was like, âOk, these all work together.â
Tim: We realized early on that if we tried to force something, it wasnât meant to be. If there was an idea that got put out and it didnât grab everyoneâs attention, we didnât say, âOh, fuck that song,â but we moved onto something where we could harness that creative spark. I think that translates in the songs.
It goes back to what we were saying earlier about how even if you make this really cool riff, but it doesnât fit the song, it just doesnât fit the song. As you guys said, itâs all about the greater purpose of the art.
Tim: Absolutely, yeah!
Another question I need to ask you guys is about your very first ever show at Riot Fest. Actually, Frank, thatâs where I met you for the first time. What a crowd that was. That was insane.
Frank: I wasnât expecting that.
For the first ever show as a band and with zero hype in terms of leading up to this, it was just the first show. Then droves of people were right in front of you. Thatâs got to be a crazy experience for the band.
Frank: It was. Nerve wracking? Absolutely. Itâs also realizing that you feel good about that â good about what youâve created. We had one song out! You know what I mean? Iâve played Riot Fest at 1:00pm before and there wasnât that many people there. Thereâs something about this band and about what weâre doing right now that feels special. Something bigger than any one of us is going on. So, yeah, we got out there and I was like, âOh my God â I was expecting 20 people,â and itâs more like 2,000. It was amazing⊠a great feeling.Â
Tucker: Weâve never over-thought anything in this band, from the songs to the album to the album art to anything like that. Everything was kind of immediate. Riot Fest was symbolic of that in a way because we did play at one in the afternoon. We woke up and we didnât have time to think about it. It was immediate, âOk, letâs not overthink it. Letâs get up there and play the songs,â and that really worked into our favor. We didnât have time to freak out.Â
Frank: Itâs true.
Tucker: Low stress!
Tim: Speak for yourself! [Laughs]
Tucker: But imagine having all day to think about it? Imagine that! Imagine playing at 10 at night and thinking about it all fucking day.
Frank: Yeah⊠I did that [Laughs].
youtube
Itâs rewarding to see, as you said. Weâve talked about fan reception, but itâs true â seeing this in real time? The crowd right there in front of you? It validates everything you guys have worked the past two years for. Thatâs why the live shows are so important. Thatâs why we missed it in the pandemic. You can hear studio takes, but experiencing a song in that setting and seeing it the way it was meant to be? Seeing Anthony jump into the crowd and scream? Seeing all of you guys in tune? Itâs another experience, it really is.
Frank: It totally is. Like we were saying before, at that point, I think only one song was out. The crowd went off like they knew every single one. Thatâs a really rare thing. Iâve been around this block quite a few times. That doesnât happen. It just doesnât happen. Iâm very, very thankful and in awe of what we experienced⊠and continue to experience, really.
Of course! First off, I want to thank you guys so much for taking time out of your day to talk with The Aquarian for this cover story. We really appreciate all three of you sitting down with me to push this record and your shows. My final question for you today is about this record songwriting wise. Itâs very unique because I feel like it switches between hardcore-style fast, very melodic parts, and extremely rythmic parts. It does it very seamlessly, too. When youâre writing a song, do you almost have two different ideas that you Frankenstein into one? Do you naturally slow it down?
Frank: It really depends on the song. Usually it starts with a riff, right? I think itâs usually either mostly bass riffs or guitar riffs. Then goes to Tucker and then Tucker usually will flip it on its head â itâs crazy. Sometimes the beat comes in and itâs like, âOh, man! The one is here now. Thatâs not where I thought it was going to be. Thatâs fucking awesome!â It makes your brain think in a different way. You have five different guys that are all songwriters, and it is really difficult to be both a bass and a drum songwriter. I donât know if youâve been in a band, but Iâve never been in a band where the drummer or bassist kind of crafted songs in such a wild, rhythmic, and melodic way. Everyone is writing catchy melodies. Thatâs one of the things I love so much about Tuckerâs playing: thereâs these catchy melodies within the beats. Itâs just another earworm that happens.
Tucker: Awww.
Frank: It is true! Iâm not saying it because heâs holding the phone [Laughs]. That will happen and then it will come to Travis and me and itâs like a mad dash who gets there first. Weâll start to put riffs on top â now, at this point, we were writing and thereâs no vocals. Youâre just kind of writing and seeing how a melody feels and it if it could be something that could latch on. Then weâll have a verse and somebody here is like, âI think it should go here.â Weâll copy and paste drum beats so that you can get to a chorus and weâll write that chorus bit on top of it and then send it back to Tim. Timâs really good about arranging chorus, verse, chorus, verse like that. Then we send it back again and play over it again. Finally we go to Anthony and say, like, âWhat the fuck? How did he find a melody in all this shit that we put on here?â Thatâs really how the first half of the record was written: just kitchen sink, everything goes in. Then we started to subtract from there and really fine tune what supports the melodies and what supports the song. I donât know, we just happen to write really well together. It shouldnât work but does.
Tim: Yeah, it was really crazy. There would be parts where we would say, âHey, hereâs drums, bass, and guitar. Itâs just a verse.â Then you would send that out and be like, âI donât know whatâs going to come back!â For âGrey Veinsâ and other songs, Frank would just be like, âOh, I donât know, but how is this for a chorus?â Itâs like obviously a yes, too! Itâs awesome! Like we keep saying, we do our best to inspire each other. I donât want Frank or Tucker or anyone in the band to feel like thereâs a filter and they need to say, âOk, well this is already happening, so let me dial it back.â We really try to foster everyone just being as absolutely creative as they possibly can. Somehow all of our voices kind of fit together which is very bizarre and rare and gratifying. [Itâs] beautiful and itâs great.
Frank: We have no idea, basically!Â
Tucker: All of that is completely accurate and I have nothing to add.
It goes back to how you guys have no expectations for or from this project. No one even knew it was existing. You donât have to worry about the radio single. Itâs just, âOk, how can I add to Timâs part? How can I add to that drum fill that Tucker just did?â
Tucker: Thatâs that youthful spirit we were talking about earlier. When we would add, we would try to do it as fast as possible. âGet this part done so somebody can do the next part!â That gave it that off-the-rails, kind of nervous energy of just trying to get your dudes psyched.
Incredible! I know a lot of side projects are a one-and-done kind of thing. With the reception that this record had, you all are going to keep pushing forward, right? I know the record just came out, so itâs still very fresh, but are there any future plans for L.S. Dunes?
Tim: Weâre always writing.Â
Frank: We have a lot of stuff.
Tim: We have so many ideas going.
Tucker: Iâll be honest, we all love this record so much, but itâs old news to us. We havenât begun to scratch the surface of what weâre capable of.

ÊáŽáŽÊ Ꭰê±ÉȘÊáŽÉŽ'ê± áŽáŽÊÊ

masterlist
Whatever you do, do not follow a Sirenâs call. Its sweet voice may entice you, its looks may blind you. But to follow its heed, is to open your arms to the Angel of Death and say âLet me be your devotee.â To follow its call is to be marked by the Siren, forever.
The hypnotic beam of the ocean called for her in the dead of the night, where the dilapidating of her dwindling soul aided her quest to hunt for the food she was deprived of. It was the allure of the ocean too. Calling her name, its whispers sent a tantalising shiver down her spine, beckoning her. Magnetising her. Each of her limbs bowed to the sea, begging to feel the rush of cacophonous tides slap against her skin. The spray of sea salt-a musk, she could get intoxicated on until the Angel of Death travelled to her from darkened lands.
Her fingers flipped over the dense pages eyes scouring over reams of text and intricate drawings of the enigmatic creatures that harboured the sea, she sat on the floor of her boat, the barge settling upon the large expanse of the desolate sea. The moon hung serenely in the sky, the flickering of candles that penetrated the bleak homes had been blown out as sleep overtook the aching hearts of the townspeople. Over the past few weeks, the village had been struck with a shortage of food. Prices inflated as terrified fisherman refused to sail out into the sea and hunt for fish. It seemed the weather was equally aghast to the earth's aquarian- for a storm was brewing, the sky darkening into a stony grey, wind howling every night parrying against the wooden doors that were tightly locked, the metal hinges gripped onto the architraves for dear life. When she asked why they were so terrified, it was revealed that a daring fisherman had angered the Sirenâs; thinking that a man was God and not made by him. Thinking that a Siren's land could easily be as colonised as one human colonised another. In turn their malevolent roars had burst his ear drums, their nails as sharp as knives impaled brutally into his supple flesh. With severed limbs, and gashes embroidered into his corpse, they had pushed back at the boat-rolling onto the port with poisoned fishes. A mockery. A warning, even.
Do not dare to anger a Siren. Its wrath exceeds boundaries that surpasses human imagination.
But the townspeople were wrought with hunger, starvation killing of the younger child with a weakened immune system that was simply pending on a trigger. Starvation had killed off her mother too, along with her father-who had in fact been taken by the sea itself. It was just her and her brother remaining, hungry and struggling to make ends meet with his measly job as a clerk. He promised that when heâd conjured sufficient funds, theyâd move to the city to forge a better life for themselves and she would too be able to work. Though that seemed impossible with the way that progression, in his line of work, was almost unattainable. Thus, with her already struggling to stand on her own two feet-she decided to take matters in her own hands. It seemed quite impulsive of her, but she had enough skill to fish for the whole economy- it was just the danger she needed to steer clear off. As long as she didnât venture into their lands and cause a ruckus, sheâd be fine. Right?
âWhat am I supposed to do? If I don't go out there then we'll both be dead by the end of the month.â She argued. He slumped deeper into the sofa, resting his head in his palms.
âIâm just going to have to travel to the nearest town and see what they have.â
âThe nearest town is three hours away. How will you cope?â
âIâll cope alright. You stay here, its too dangerous. If the Sirens don't take you, the sea will.â He patted her head, gingerly as if to console her. She hated the way she was confined to their small home, feeling helpless as every day her brother came back home with little pennies in his pocket. Despite her best efforts to convince him otherwise, she failed a number of times. It wasn't until he handed her all of the information she needed into the palm of her hand, that he had catalysed her venture out to the coast.
âThe fishermen are thinking about going out to sea again.â Her ears perked up at the news, though she kept her gaze fixated to the chopping board as she sliced the vegetables. Flicking her eyes over to the stirring pot, she stirred the soup, her hands circulating the pot- before gripping the knife again. Picking up the map settled beside him, he ambled to her side-leaning against the countertop. âLook. Theyâve said that on the safe side, we wonât use the first and second harbour. Weâll have to use the Queenâs Harbour, but steer clear of this part instead.â Fixating her gaze on the map, she gave him a curt nod, reeling in the co-ordinates and committing as much as she could-subtly moving forward as if she could not see the map clearly from where she stood.
âThatâs good, but you should plan to make your trip anyway. Theyâve been saying that for two weeks straight but nobody's been moving.â She advised. Agreeing with her - he grabbed the tin off the shelf, folding up the map neatly before placing it in. He didnât notice her memorising his words, lips moving up and down as she poured his soup into the bowl dropping it in front of him. Before the dawn rose, she scuttled out of her bed-reaching for the tin on the shelf to steal the map.
Their fishing boat was not the largest among the array that sat proudly upon the shoal of the iridescent waves. It was ghostly white in colour, but perhaps the most meticulously cared for seeing that when their father had left it to their possession, he entrusted them to care of it. No matter how scarcely they went fishing. Throwing in her tools, she jumped into the boat, unravelling the ropes that tied the boat down to the docks. Hauling at the heavy oars, the barge drifted outwards towards the large expanse of the sea. She didn't travel too far out, considering the fish were mostly dense near the rocky shores. Moving out early was tactful too; grabbing the bait from the box, she pierced it to the end of the hook, slinging the line into the water.
Her luck was poor. The wind had gotten a lot colder picking up its pace, and she forgot her coat back at home in the rush of having to escape to the shore without being seen. With trembling limbs, she tried and tried again-growing tired and hungry yet all the fish seemed to have dispersed. Paddling out a little, she tried a number of areas yet she failed.
"Come on fishies. I gotta eat." She pleaded, turning the reel handle, the fly line drew up and out of the water. The hook was empty. With an exasperated sigh, melancholia flooded through her. Losing all hope, she wrapped away all of her equipment settling it to the side. One last time, she peered into the water, hoping to find a small aquarian shimmering beneath. Instead, she sought the silhouette of a much larger figure- flickers of a broad back with dark hair. A Siren?
âCome throw your heart into the waves
Your soul is lost, and still it saves
Drink me in and come undoneâ
A melodious voice permeated her ears, its hum serenading her blood, smoothing the flow of her palpitating heart. Its voice so eerily translucent, vibrating through her muscles, shimmering in the breeze as her hair fluttered delicately in the midnight sky. Her body paralysed to the spot, her skin itching to rip the fabric that clung to her like glue. At once, she lunged for the oars ignoring the intense rippling of the cerulean sea as she travelled the surface of the boat. Her arms rowed powerfully, as the waters rocked harshly against her. Panicked breaths escaped her, as she oared through the waters, the port in sight though tiredness gnawed at her aching muscles.
âBring your body unto meâ
Her eyes felt itself droop, her panicked breaths became eroticised by its seductive voice. She hated the bewitchment, she hated the way she wanted to feel its touch upon her cold, paling skin. Yet she persisted against her wild emotions, rowing and rowing. A shriek escaped her lips, as the boat rocked backwards upon a sudden weight. Paralysed to the spot, the saccharine hums edged closer. A shadow loomed above her, creeping down, its slender fingers reaching to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
âMy sweet girl, youâre so strong.â A masculine voice whispered, sending a shot of delirium through her. âLet me gift you, my dear.â A pearl necklace clasped itself around her neck. Her hands flung towards it immediately. Daringly, he pressed his lips to the gleam of her neck. Instantly, she snapped her head around and the enigmatic figure was gone, lost to the sea. As soon as she reached the port, she grabbed all the fishing tools and dashed back to her home. With the dawn slowly infiltrating the sky, she placed all of the tools into the shed, and traipsed back into her bedroom.
Catching her eyes in the mirror, the pearl necklace was coated with a silvery blue, glistening in the darkness of her room. Her hands slid to the back of her neck, in a desperate attempt to find the clasp. There was no clasp. Immediately, panic fulfilled her, tears rushing to the brim of her eyes. Sheâd just have to pull it off. Yet she could not, as she tried to tug at the pearls, the skin around her neck pulled violently. With a painful gasp, a weary sob eructed from her - flopping onto her bed she continued to sob into the pillow.
She was marked by a Siren. There was no other possible explanation. Reaching for the book she'd thrown onto her bed, she frantically flipped through the pages. Looking for something, anything, on markings; their potentially symbolic meanings and how to get rid of them.
Siren's can mark humans in a multiple of ways. There are three key types of markings. A tattoo can simply mean the mark of death. Marking can also be through inhabiting sharp canines, longer nails even a tail which allows a Siren to share your body so it can walk freely across the lands. This is temporary, the markings can be removed safely. The last one is marking by what the Siren's call 'gifting'. This is mainly carried out by male Sirens, they often give their human counterparts gifts such as earrings, bracelets, necklaces.
On instinct her hands flew to her neck, where a string of pearls were embedded into her skin, the bumps sending a jolt of despair through her. It felt like a set of hands gripping around her neck. Her eyes shot back down to the book spread across the laps, patiently waiting for her brother's footsteps to stop loitering outside her door.
This is potentially one of the worst types of marking. This is the mark of 'love' where the Siren's now own the body of their lover. It is up to them to do what they wish, whether it be marriage, mating, slavery, a slow death. This mark can only be removed by the Siren itself.
"Where did you get that necklace?" Her brother pondered, the same evening as he came back from work. They sat opposite each other on the dining table, in the crook of their tiny kitchen.
"Oh, erm Mum's jewellery box." Giving her sheepish smile, he turned back to his food.
"It looks nice, speaking of. One of our regular clients at work was asking about you. He saw that photo of you, me and Mum that we took last year." Humming as if she was paying attention, her spoon ran through the middle of her plate-playing with her food. Her ears had tuned out the sound of his voice as her eyes wandered out into the distance where the sea rested upon the crest of the shore. She had no choice but to go back, she needed to find the Siren who marked and get the wretched necklace of her neck. "Anyways, he's rich so I think you should marry him."
"Marry who?"
"San. We wouldn't have to worry about money again, plus he likes you." Her eyebrows creased in confusion, before huffing. Heâd brought up the topic of marriage before, wanting his sister to be married to someone who could protect her better than him. Keep her safe and more comfortable than he ever could. In response, sheâd tease him about having a wife- but heâd only shake his head saying he needed a lot more money and job security before settling down to start a family.
"Where did San come from?"
"Where you even listening to me?" He questioned with furrowed brows, wiping his hands with the napkin. Her silence caused him to release a sigh of frustration, throwing the dirty tissue her way.
At night, she moved along the shore again-once again unravelling the ropes, setting out to sail. At first she had to wait for her brother to fall asleep, which seemed futile due to his incessant insomnia, which had him roaming around the home at merciless hours. The waters were eerily quiet, letting go of the oars, she got up, summoning as much courage as she had to peak over the side of the boat.
"Bring your body unto me."
A jostle of horror coursed through her veins, as a pair of hands gripped onto the hull. Aerial hums transgressed the cool air once more, his round face slowly arose from the water, big eyes captivating her-the curve of his cheeks and menacingly charming smile, that had her body swaying towards him. His skin was tinted with a light blue shade, his collarbones painted in a gleaning silver glitter. His bare chest triggered a warm flush to spread over her cheeks. Following the movements of his pink lips, she could not help herself as she leaned over the side of the boat to draw her hands closer to him.
"Let your graveyard be the sea, Come away and drink it in."
His large hands ensnared around her wrist, jerking her body over the side, a potent force sunk her under the tumultuous waves. Her lungs screeched for air, the blood inside sizzling as the Siren tightened his grip swimming towards the bed of the sea. Her mind in a haze, body: his, as she heeded to his command. The bewitching croons dispersed as they moved closer to bed; the roar of the wind, rushing of water, wind rippling the surface ached her ears. Before she knew it, the bed of the sea drowned her in-her body pushed through the small crevices into a distant land.
A harsh cough escaped her, exhaling loudly, her body slumped against a rock, eyes fluttering as her temple felt as if a trident had been lodged through it. The Siren sook in her figure with his wide eyes. Her body trembled as an array of goosebumps rippled over her skin, she caught a glint in her peripheral vision-the outline of a sharp blade within arms reach. Upon seeing the Siren, she retreated backwards in fear.
"Were you the one to put this necklace on me?" He nodded, his wide eyes glossed with a certain type of innocence, the type that made her want to forgive him. "Can you take it off?" Her voice brimmed with desolation. His lips pulled into a frown.
âI can't. You belong to Choi Jongho now. You're mine.â Just as she predicted, he would hold his ground-stating true to her textbook knowledge of his remarks. She understood why they said to never follow a Sirenâs call now; the beauty of his man had her unconsciously drifting towards him. The desire to outstretch her hand and address the surface of his smooth skin, to feel his bare skin pressed against hers. Those thoughts felt abhorred, but Sirenâs were creatures of seduction; pumping lust into their subjects. One last time, her hands reached to the back of het neck; in an attempt to rid herself of the necklace he draped around her. With no clasp she slid her finger through the pearls-yanking the beads as hard as she could feeling the harrowing stretch of her skin as she tugged; her breath becoming lodged in her throat. âDonât! Youâll rip out your throat.â Arduously, her arms fell at her sides as her weak endeavours failed pathetically.
"Why-why did you do this to me?" Resting her back against the rock, her chest heaved furiously.
"I like pretty things. If I see something pretty, I keep it." Suddenly, her arm stuck out towards him, as if her fingers were magnets attracted to the opposite pole. Harshly she tried to retract, yet instead her whole body lurched forward- into the water-twirling as if orchestrating an elegant dance. Taking an agitating step back, her limbs heavy as she tried to repel her body against him.
âStop this!â This time both arms stuck out as if she was reaching out for him. Firmly plastering both feet to the ground, her arms remained fixated in the same humiliating position.
âIf you want to hug me, youâll have to come a bit closer.â He teased, he found the spectacle in front of him quite amusing.
âI donât want a hug. Stop this now!â She didnât mean for her voice to be crowded with as much apprehension and desperation as it was now, her bottom lip quivering slightly. It was so painful to repel, yet it was damning to surrender.
âI canât. Our souls are bound now, the attraction youâre feeling? One day you wonât even be able to fight back.â She slumped to the floor, rubbing her hand against her chest as if it would soothe the pain she was feeling. Her lungs were burning, her heart was palpitating, the tension between was growing thick was every waking moment. Shutting her eyes, she curled up into a ball; the tormenting pull on her muscles relaxed, she released a contented sigh for a single second, before she felt a warm weight rest on her waist.
âGet your hand off me.â She snapped, a warm chuckle escaped from his pink lips.
âIt feels much better, though. Doesnât it?â
âNo.â His hand retracted immediately at her dismissal, the pain washed slowly into her blood again, like the tides that tugged the sand slipping into unspeakable depths of the ocean- the sharp spike jolting through her so much that she could not even breathe. Irrationally, she jumped into his arms- craving his skin as one craved morphine; wrapping her arms around his own waist to feel the morphine that soothed the burn of a thousand hot knives impaling her supple skin. The pain dispersed as if it was never there to begin with. âCould you at least get the necklace off me?â She begged, peering to look up at him through her lashes. She was just going to have to play his game and win.
âWhy?â His lips fell into a frown.
âI donât like pearls.â She lied. Of course she adored them, she spent the majority of her childhood picking them out from oyster shells-creating small pearl necklaces and earrings.
âWhat do you like instead? Sapphires? Gold?â Running his hands through the length of her hair, he placed a gentle kiss on the top of her forehead.
âI donât really like jewellery. Could you just take it off? Please?â His eyes narrowed in suspicion. âMy love.â She whispered, his heart swayed with her every breath-drunk on the fumes of her every exhale. Catching sight of the fish hook behind him, she leaned forward, momentarily stopping in front of his face. Was she really going to do this? What choice do I have? Delicately, she pressed her own lips to his, circling her arms around her neck, to pull his head towards her. Her arms outstretched behind her to yeild the blade as close to her as she could. He pushed his body forward, her back hitting daintily against the rock. His body hovered over hers; warm breath leaving a trail of desire littering over her skin. Before she could blink, he began to pepper kisses over her neck. Slowly and softly his head slid down, dangerously lower and lower. It was then she realised how low cut the neck of her dress was. Unconsciously, her hands rinsed through his raven hair-pressing his head down deeper into her collarbone. With a hand around her neck, the heavy weight of the pearls lightened the load on her neck.
âThank you.â She breathed out. With his head dug into her collarbone, she held back a grunt as she strained to reach for blade, the handle slipping into her palms like glue. Languidly, she drew the knife closer to his abdomen- the honed end waltzed on his skin. Taking a deep breath, the knife dug into the crevice of his skin; pushing the weight of his body off her, she scrambled to her feet, the ends spewing blood like raindrops. His heaving breaths pervaded the air, his siren eyes glaring out.
âI love you and this how repay me?â Letting out a forced laugh, his cackles sent dangerous ripples through the water- before he could do anything else she darted away from rock- the drag of the water halting her. âYou clever bitch!â His scream echoed within the caverns yet her feet travelled as far as they could away from him, the water rising from her knees all the way to her chest. She hadnât thought this was through- how would she get out? Quickly, her eyes scouted her surroundings, until she found a small hole carved within a rock yet large enough for her to fit through. Inhaling a deep breath, she dove into the water arms and legs moving powerfully to resist the harsh waves his anger had conjured. Lurching herself of the sea bed, she swung up her arms, flailing her legs to travel upwards feeling his angered roar tremble through her bones.
âYou are no more, you are no less.
For all must die, all must rest.â
His hymns would not work now, she was no longer bound to him with the pearls having been rid from her body. Her head pushed up the surface of the water, oxygen powering into her lungs- inhaling as much as she could. Kicking her feet to stay afloat, she glided towards the boat- with an iron tight fist she flung herself over, rolling onto the floor. Nimbly, she got up towards the oars; smacking them down as hard as she could into the water. The boar tipped backwards with the sudden weight, her head snapping back; she was succumbed to his deadly gaze. If looks could kill.
âYou forgot the necklace.â He threw the pearls in her direction, the clatter making her flinch. As fast as she could, she took hold of the oar-slamming the wood against his knees as hard as she could. Letting out a painful grunt, she tackled him to the floor. With a fish hook in sight, she grabbed it- as a beggar grabbed morsel- lifting it above her head, pummelling it into his rubbery skin. Drowning out the sounds of his screams, as she mutilated his skin; gutting it as one gut fish. Repeating the action. Until her arms had given up on her. Chucking the blade into the water, tears rushing to the brim of her eyes, she let out a pained sob. A scream terrorised the waters, purling through the underworld, stunting the waterâs fluidity. Her blood stained hands cupped her sides of her cheeks, running through her hair- tears washing away the blood over his body.
In the distance, a figure had pounded into the water- using the little strength she had to push the boat on its head. A Sirenâs body floated down towards the sea bed, as the soft waves carried her body to the docks.
Her brotherâs trip to the next town proved successful, they were far from hungry-and he bought a little more than he should have; managing to sell a load in the townâs market. After a while, the fisherman formed a congregation and finally went out to sea. At first she was unsure if the Sirenâs were still angry as she killed Jongho. Then again, she didnât know how beloved he was to them. She didnât want to know either, the image of his dead body engraved in her head. Yet when they came back with mounds of fish, and the economy was booming again, she had come to a quick conclusion that he must have not been anything but a head count. She never went near the sea again, for every step closer to the coast meant a step closer to Jongho despite the fact that his soul had been taken by the Angel of Death. At night, she could not help but let her mind litter to the way his touch kissed her skin; soon after she was reminded of the way she brutally murdered him. Over time, she suffered from insomnia like her brother, staying hidden in her bedroom to avoid suspicion of her sudden sleep apnea.
âAre you sure you donât want to go fishing with me?â She nodded, unable to tell him that their boat had been lost the waves now- with a few bits of their equipment. Perhaps it was her brotherâs insomnia that had impaired his judgement, for he didnât notice the missing equipment and when he didnât enquire about the missing boat- confusion struck through her. âWhat about the boat? Itâs still there, why would it be anywhere else?â At first she didnât believe him, so summoning all the fortitude she had, she made her way down to the docks to see him off to the sea. And there it was. No blood stains, no damage, pearly white as it had always been. Not wanting to entertain a foreign thought (of Jongho not being dead) she assumed maybe the other fisherman had been kind enough to return it to them.
Maybe it was San. Sheâd finally met him that day by the docks- she could understand her brotherâs insistence to marry him. For now, sheâd wait and let things settle as they were- and he was a kind soul keen on waiting for her.
Sat on her bed, lazily drifting her eyes through the words on a book- she aimlessly drew her pencil across. A knock, followed by the door creaking open, got her up from her bed- her brother stood in the doorway summoning for her.
âI made a friend whilst fishing.â
âThat would be a first.â She joked, placing her book aside to give him attention.
âI thought Iâd introduce you to him. Heâs a natural at hunting for fish. And he let me use his equipment too.â She followed her brother to the front door. âI invited him to dinner.â She gave him a pointed look, huffing as sheâd have to prepare food for one more mouth. Braking violently by the doorway, her mouth hung slightly agape as she took in the figure before her.
He turned around, those same wide eyes greeting her again. His round cheeks, uplifting as he pulled his lips into a charming smile. He was clad in the same fishermanâs dress as her brother, hair smoothed back as if untouched by a drop water. He sent a taunting wave.
âHi, Iâm Jongho.â Her words lodged in her throat, her brother sending her a displeased look.
âIâm sorry Jongho, sheâs shy sometimes.â He flicked his hand reassuringly. Digging his hand into his pocket, he pulled a rectangular black velvet box.
âHere, I heard you like pearls.â

week of february 4th, 2024
these are written predominantly for the *rising* signs but they are also intuitively "channeled" enough that they should work for any dominant energy you have! (try your sun if you don't know rising, or more advanced readers can try moon, anywhere you have a stellium, etc and see what works best for you!)
aries: if you've been hoping to boost your reputation, public image, career status, or social networking situation, this week is the week for it. you have mars action, 10th house action, and aquarian `11th house action all on your side. update your CV or whatever you need to do!
taurus: aquarian vibes tend to not be ones that come to you most naturally, but uranus in your sign for years has likely made you a little more comfortable with such genius/eccentric humanitarianism. this week is hyper-aquarian, so really lean into that developing side of yourself.
gemini: your ruling planet mercury flits into aquarius and promptly conjoins pluto. you'll need to get used to this occurring about once a year now for the next decade; it is odin-like psychopompic vibe. the huginn and muninn side of mercury and the ferryman. you now live in the liminal spaces in between here and the underworld.
cancerians: overall it's a great time to be a crab-sign! possible caveat: be careful with your money, taxes, investments, and any other shared resources. this is the shift in focus due to pluto changing sign. meanwhile, this week and actually for the next couple months, capricorn hosts ceres. this is a comfortable vibe for you in partnership, as long as your needs are well met.
leo: it's like everyone just hangs out in your 7th house now, as mercury makes its ingress into aquarius. this does affect your relationships in ways you haven't likely seen in ages. talk things out rather than rehearsing madeup scenarios in your head.
virgo: this week is astrologically busy so your entire chart likely teems with activity but something to consider especially is that both of your ruling planets (ceres and mercury) ingress into new signs this week. ceres heads for capricorn, so nurture your funloving side and don't get too bogged down in productivity or responsibility. mercury moves into aquarius, conjoining pluto at the beginning of the week, so you can effectively overhaul your daily routines or any diet plan or similar situation you have going on. make sure it works FOR you and you're not just dragging yourself along!
libra: while pluto into aquarius may not have necessarily been your idea of a fun time, now that other planets pile into that sign and there is a new moon there, you can really milk the fun parts of that house. no use sitting around feeling sorry for yourself, do something, anything, that lights you up a little bit. or a lot!
scorpio: you can set new moon intentions this week around your home, family of origin, or ancestral lineage for really good results. meanwhile capricorn and your 3rd house are busy so if you have letters to write, texts to send, or ads to post, this is the time to do it and if not, a journal can be really useful!
sagittarius: money and trade are a focus for you this week. there may be some challenges in this regard, but nothing you can't overcome with some effort. if you have writing or communication projects to work on, the new moon gives them a little shove in a good direction.
capricorn: people act like money is always a major focus for your sign and truly it can be. this week it goes double though due to capricorn+aquarius influences. building anything, literally or metaphorically, is also auspicious at this time.
aquarius: for some of you the vibe increases your life force and for others it can feel draining. it depends a lot on how you're handling pluto. getting used to it yet? mercury's arrival may help - some astrologers (but not all) consider it exalted in your sign. you also get a new moon this week, so you can do intentions and manifestations around your vital energy.
pisces: so much activity in your twelfth house can be emotionally stressful especially being that you are such a sensitive soul. try not to take any hardships that might occur personally, and whatever opportunities you have to be a miracle in someone else's life, take it.

Astro observations
âïžMost people in astrology community while talking about certain placements, talk about unsafe homes, dysfunctional households, single mother, uncaring mother/guardian or parents, etc. This is while talking about people who may have relationship issues but I don't think that's it. There may be other neurological factors or disorders or dysphoria (one that comes to my mind is Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria) or they may be HSP who experience everything to an intense degree, so we need to mention these factors too.
âïž People born on Sagittarius-Capricorn cusp are, according to me, really interesting, compassionate and assertive people, also taking into consideration thier other placements.
âïž Blue color reminds me of Gemini Mercury.
âïž I've seen Aquarius suns saying that they don't believe in things like astrology and MBTI tests and that's such an aquarian thing to do.
âïž I believe Suns in 11th house are are bit more social than Aquarians. Specially someone with more social sun signs, like a Leo sun in 11th house is more on the social side and is more likely to act like his leo self in and around 11th house themes.
âïž People with Libra Rising has something calm and soft about the way they look while people with Aries Rising have a distinct feature, maybe thier eyes, nose, cheekbones but they're more pronounced. With Libra Rising you see the harmony of all of it together and with Aries, you see how thier features stand out.
âïž I have had Ascendant-Moon and Ascendant-Venus conjunction in synastry with a guy I met online around a month ago and he texted me about how I'm the only women he thinks about and how I'm so pretty. But he doesn't like ME me, he likes the persona I am when I'm online (which resembles me but not completely) and that persona aligns well with his romantic desires and his feelings.
âïž I know a lot of astrologers on tumblr like Whole house system but I personally find Placidus to be better. It gives us wider field to choose from, more options. And humans beings are not always the same, or even fitting in the signs or the boxes we try to fit them into.
âïžFor example, my 10th house starts with later degrees of Cancer and occupies more than half of Leo and I've always felt deep connection and desire with both the themes of Leo and cancer occupations or jobs. But this could be because of the chart ruler being here. But similarly, my 9th house starts in Gemini and occupies a great deal of cancer and I'm getting dual degrees while I'm very much interested in learning about medical studies and nursing, not as my career but just to simple know.
đŒThis is my first astrology observation. It's a very impulsive decision I took around 15 minutes ago because I was bored and I suddenly had an astrology thought. Hope you'd enjoy these. Also, most of these are the ones I actually observed from charts of people I know but if you find something to be exclusively talked about by another astrologer, please tell me in the comments, I'd love to give the credit.

AquariusVenus â
â â â â
đ despite him appearing distant & unbothered, he needs just as much attention as his sister sign leo venus. he hates being ignored or forgotten, yet he will never tell you that, making him hard to read. heâs so good at hiding his attraction from her. heâll watch her from afar for some time before making his move meanwhile sheâll be clueless of his interest.
đ he is the âcome & go, hot & coldâ type. heâs known for being inconsistent in his displays of affection & attention. indicators of his interest are sporadic & confusing, ranging from acting like you doesnât exist to wanting to hang out with you. others often think his feelings are unstable, but it isnât abt feelings, itâs abt aquarians need to withdraw & be alone for some time. heâs often surprised why others view him as inconsistent when his love isnât actually wavering, he just needs space to recharge himself mentally. he will come back eventually, acting as if nothing happened, technically nothing happened for him. this is just his default nature & more codependent types may find it offensive.
đ heâs not quick to enter rxships & it takes a lot for him to fall in love. but once heâs eventually locked in thereâs no going back. heâs a fixed venus sign after all so he has a tendency to stay in rxships even if they donât serve him.
đ heâs just as serious as capricorn but just as talkative as gemini. heâs great at communicating his wants & needs. but he can be somewhat critical when maintaining his strict boundaries & standards. also, he may express his feelings through late-night texts, sharing thoughts he might hesitate to say in person.
đ others often feel comfortable opening up & revealing secrets to him bc heâs non-judgmental, openminded & unemotional.
đ aquarius is ruled by uranus, which governs freedom & liberation. aquarius is abt being different & breaking boundaries. he may be very open minded in regards to his s3xuality.
Turn Onâs & Offâs:
đ he values an unbothered & nonchalant woman, whom has a collected temperament & the ability to detach. she is aloof, distant & unattainable. she doesnât lose her cool in any way, shape or form. she knows how to regulate her emotions & thoughts, whilst viewing things from a logical perspective.
đ for the sake of the rxship & your well-being, ensure to act less interested than he is, you have to be subtle & strategic with him. he hates when his love interest makes it too obvious she likes him. he feels like that restricts his freedom & the last thing he wants is to be trapped. if he realises she doesnât want to take it slow & let him be free, then expect him to completely ghost! the tighter she holds him, the more he runs away. he perceives his partner acting too obsessed & mushy (especially early on) as cringey & suffocating. heâs completely turned off by neediness & insecurity so never attempt to tie him down! he wants what he cant have & he desires romance that is unattainable to him.
đ emotional scenes & emotional outbursts from others scare him off. when emotions get too intense he tends to find the quickest escape plan. this explains why heâs perceived as cold-hearted.
đ he dislikes bossy & demanding partners who put too much rules on him. if you even slightly try to control him, not only will be ghost you but he will completely rebel by doing exactly what you didnât want him to do.
đ he wants someone who doesnât follow the crowd & is outside of the box. ensure to respect & admire his weirdness, call him unique & original, tell him heâs nothing like youâve ever seen or will see again.
đ to impress him, wear something that isnât basic or trendy. dress authentic & unique as he thinks someone expressing themselves is the sexiest thing (chelsea lee art vibes). he doesnât care abt matching colours or patterns. glasses, space buns, holographic boots, chipped nail polish.
đ heâs often not interested in conventional rxships. he may enjoy quick flings or anything that is weird & interesting.
đ aquarius is the ruler of 11th house, which is the house of friendship. he enjoys friendship based foundations & treats his lover like his best friend. he loves someone who can make him laugh & make him feel comfortable.
đ all air venusâs like to be impressed intellectually.

Angel
Mercury - Tiriel
In medicine, Mercury is associated with the nervous system, the brain, the respiratory system, the thyroid and the sense organs. It is traditionally held to be essentially cold and dry, according to its placement in the zodiac and in any aspects to other planets.
Astrology, Mercury represents the principles of communication, mentality, thinking patterns, rationality/reasoning, adaptability and variability. Mercury governs schooling and education, the immediate environment of neighbors, siblings and cousins, transport over short distances, messages and forms of communication such as post, email and telephone, newspapers, journalism and writing, information gathering skills and physical dexterity.
Saint
Mars - SĂ©bastien
Sebastian is a popular male saint, especially today among athletes.[3][4] In medieval times, he was regarded as a saint with a special ability to intercede to protect from plague, and devotion to him greatly increased when plague was active. As a protector from the bubonic plague, Sebastian was formerly one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers. In Catholicism, Sebastian is the patron saint of archers, pin-makers, athletes (a modern association) and of a holy death.
Diety
Mercury - Ogun
As a father creates his tools, the children of Ogun open their own paths to what they want. They are conquerors and act quite artistically. It is curiosity that leads them to unravel things and discover the paths on their own. Ogun is the orisha of iron and war. The great warrior who gives his children a lot of will to fight for what they want and a great power of conquest. In matters of the heart, he loves to take the initiative. He rules impulsive and temperamental people.
Elements
As the âscout signsâ which generate the seasons, cardinal signs govern creativity. These signs are restless, active, self-motivated, ambitious, and they often are the leaders in their communities. They can be a bit domineering, but that comes part and parcel with their best qualities of being enterprising, independent, creative, spontaneous and forceful.

Bible
The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (German: Die protestantische Ethik und der Geist des Kapitalismus) is a book written by Max Weber, a German sociologist, economist, and politician. Begun as a series of essays, the original German text was composed in 1904 and 1905, and was translated into English for the first time by American sociologist Talcott Parsons in 1930.[1] It is considered a founding text in economic sociology and a milestone contribution to sociological thought in general.
CALEBISM Rosicrucian Fellowship (CRF) Mercury-Mars-Pluto Invocation Planetary Intelligence Planetary Heavens of Astrology Astral Body as Religion
Rosicrucianism is a spiritual and cultural movement that arose in early modern Europe in the early 17th century after the publication of several texts announcing to the world a new esoteric order. Rosicrucianism is symbolized by the Rosy Cross or Rose Cross. There have been several Rosicrucian (or Rosicrucian-inspired) organizations, since the initial movement was founded, including the Order of the Golden and Rosy Cross (1750sâ1790s), the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (1865âpresent), and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (1887â1903).
The Rosicrucian Fellowship (TRF) ("An International Association of Christian Mystics") was founded in 1909 by Max Heindel with the aim of heralding the Aquarian Age and promulgating "the true Philosophy" of the Rosicrucians.[1] It claims to present Esoteric Christian mysteries or esoteric knowledge, alluded to in Matthew 13:11 and Luke 8:10, to establish a meeting ground for art, religion, and science and to prepare the individual through harmonious development of the mind and the heart for selfless service of humanity.[2]
The school's teachings hold that man is a Spirit with all the powers of God, powers that are being slowly unfolded in a series of existences (rebirths) in a gradually-improving body, a process under the guidance of exalted Beings ordering our steps in a decreasing measure as man gradually acquires intellect and will. For this purpose we live many lives[18] of increasingly fine texture and moral character. Through the "Law of Cause and Consequence" we constantly set new causes into operation which will create new destiny to balance and improve the old destiny brought from the past. All causes set into action in one life cannot be ripened in one existence but "Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap".
The astral body is a subtle body posited by many philosophers, intermediate between the intelligent soul and the mental body, composed of a subtle material.[1] In many recensions the concept ultimately derives from the philosophy of Plato though the same or similar ideas have existed all over the world well before Plato's time: it is related to an astral plane, which consists of the planetary heavens of astrology. The term was adopted by nineteenth-century Theosophists and neo-Rosicrucians.
The word "possession" is used here in its neutral form to mean "a state (sometimes psychological) in which an individual's normal personality is replaced by another". This is also sometimes known as 'aspecting'. This can be done as a means of communicating with or getting closer to a deity or spirit, and as such need not be viewed synonymously with demonic possession. In some religious traditions including Paganism, Shamanism and Wicca, "invocation" means to draw a spirit or Spirit force into one's own body and is differentiated from "evocation", which involves asking a spirit or force to become present at a given location
The Rose Cross (also called Rose Croix and Rosy Cross) is a symbol largely associated with the legendary Christian Rosenkreuz; Christian Kabbalist, alchemist, and founder of the Rosicrucian Order.[1][2] The Rose Cross is a cross with a rose at its centre, often red, golden or white[3] and symbolizes the teachings of a Western esoteric tradition with Christian tenets.[4][5][6]

Saints as Dieties: Because of this, saints were considered to be spiritual guides and mentors, who would add their prayers in heaven to those offered by Christians still living in the material world. In this way, they would âintercedeâ with God on behalf of those who asked for their aid. Intercession of the Saints is a Christian doctrine that maintains that saints can intercede for others. To intercede is to go or come between two parties, to plead before one of them on behalf of the other. The practice of praying to saints for their intercession can be found in Christian writings from the 3rd century onwards. Intercessory prayer is the act of asking a saint in heaven to pray on behalf of oneself or for others.[1]
A shrine (Latin: scrinium "case or chest for books or papers"; Old French: escrin "box or case")[1] is a sacred or holy space dedicated to a specific deity, ancestor, hero, martyr, saint, daemon, or similar figure of respect, wherein they are venerated or worshipped. Shrines often contain idols, relics, or other such objects associated with the figure being venerated.[2] A shrine at which votive offerings are made is called an altar. (Saint Sebastian)
Basilicas are Catholic church buildings that have a designation, conferring special privileges, given by the Pope. Basilicas are distinguished for ceremonial purposes from other churches. The building need not be a basilica in the architectural sense (a rectangular building with a central nave flanked by two or more longitudinal aisles). Basilicas are either major basilicas, of which there are four, all in the Diocese of Rome, or minor basilicas*, of which there were 1,810 worldwide as of 2019. (Saint Sebastian)

Aesthetics and Religion
Abstract
A systematic consideration of the multiple relationships between aesthetics and religion demands a sorting-out of concepts and issues. âAestheticsâ may be understood as practice (art) and as theory. It can refer to a number of overlapping subjects, including art, symbol, feeling, beauty, taste, imagination, and perception. A theological or religious aesthetics considers any of these topics in the light of God, revelation, and the sacred. The contemporary world has seen a renewal of interest in religious aesthetics. Art has been increasingly recognized as an important theological âtextâ that complements the written word, and as a crucial component of communication of the Christian message. The theological consideration of art and beauty is made complex by the secularization of the contemporary world, which raises the question of the relation of aesthetics to Christian âconversion.â

The effects of dancehall genre on adolescent sexual and violent behavior in Jamaica: A public health concern
Aim: To determine the extent to which dancehall music/genre impacts adolescent behavior.
Results: Of the 100 adolescent cases (50 male, 50 female), females (40%) were more likely to gravitate to sexually explicit lyrical content than their male counterparts (26%). Females (74%) were also more likely to act upon lyrical contents than males (46%). There was no significant difference where males (100%) and females (98%) subconsciously sings the dancehall lyrics even without hearing it; as well as inspire their dreams 64% and 62% respectively. However, more females (74%) than males (46%) acted on lyrical contents of the dancehall genre.
Dancehall Culture
Donna P. Hope defines dancehall culture as a "space for the cultural creation and dissemination of symbols and ideologies that reflect the lived realities of its adherents, particularly those from the inner cities of Jamaica."[41] Dancehall culture actively creates a space for its "affectors" (creators of dancehall culture) and its "affectees" (consumers of dancehall culture) to take control of their own representation, contest conventional relationships of power, and exercise some level of cultural, social and even political autonomy.
Kingsley Stewart outlines ten of the major cultural imperatives or principles that constitute the dancehall worldview. They are:
It involves the dynamic interweaving of God and Haile Selassie
It acts as a form of stress release or psycho-physiological relief
It acts as a medium for economic advancement
The quickest way to an object is the preferred way (i.e., the speed imperative)
The end justifies the means
It strives to make the unseen visible
Objects and events that are external to the body are more important than internal processes; what is seen is more important than what is thought (i.e., the pre-eminence of the external)
The importance of the external self; the self is consciously publicly constructed and validated
The ideal self is shifting, fluid, adaptive, and malleable, and
It involves the socioexistential imperative to transcend the normal (i.e., there is an emphasis on not being normal).

Business Model: Lean enterprise is sometimes simply referred to as "lean." Although both terms came into popular usage in the 1990s, the concept itself was devised by Toyota Motor Corporation when it introduced the Toyota Production System (TPS). Developed by Eiji Toyoda and Taiichi Ohno, the Toyota Production System (TPS) integrated socio-technical management philosophy and was practiced between 1948 and 1975. The lean enterprise philosophy was also inspired by telecommunications giant Motorola, which implemented a manufacturing principle known as Lean Six Sigma in 1986. The concept of work cells is based on the platform of lean manufacturing, which focuses on value creation for the end customer and reduction of wastage. Work cells, which are also referred to as workcells, are typically found in manufacturing and office environments. Manufacturing cells are sets of machines that are grouped by the products or parts that they produce. This type of system is used in the cellular manufacturing concept and is distinct from the traditional functional manufacturing system, which groups all similar machines together. Insurance companies base their business models around assuming and diversifying risk. The essential insurance model involves pooling risk from individual payers and redistributing it across a larger portfolio. Most insurance companies generate revenue in two ways: Charging premiums in exchange for insurance coverage, then reinvesting those premiums into other interest-generating assets. Like all private businesses, insurance companies try to market effectively and minimize administrative costs.

Named for Houbigant's landmark fragrance FougĂšre Royale, many men's fragrances belong to this family. Amber or "Oriental": Large class featuring sweet, slightly animalic scents of ambergris or labdanum, often combined with vanilla, tonka bean, flowers and woods. Can be enhanced by camphorous oils and incense resins, evoking Victorian era "Oriental" imagery. Citrus: The oldest fragrance family that gave birth to lightweight eau de colognes. Development of newer fragrance compounds has allowed for the creation of more tenacious citrus fragrances. Chypre (IPA: [ÊipÊ]): Meaning Cyprus in French, this category is named after the François Coty's Chypre (1917), which was the first modern fragrance built on an accord of bergamot, oakmoss, and labdanum. Example: Guerlain Mitsouko, Rochas Femme (MODIFIER SCENT). Aquatic, Oceanic, Ozonic: The newest category, first appearing in 1988 Davidoff Cool Water (1988), Christian Dior Dune (1991). A clean smell reminiscent of the ocean, leading to many androgynous perfumes. Generally contains calone, a synthetic discovered in 1966, or more recent synthetics. Also used to accent floral, oriental, and woody fragrances. A fragrance wheel [1] also known as aroma wheel, fragrance circle, perfume wheel or smell wheel, is a circular diagram showing the inferred relationships among olfactory groups based upon similarities and differences in their odor [1]. The groups bordering one another are implied to share common olfactory characteristics. Fragrance wheel is frequently used as a classification tool in oenology and perfumery. Espadrilles (Spanish: alpargatas or esparteñas; Catalan: espardenyes; Basque: espartinak, French: espadrilles)[1] are casual, rope-soled, flat but sometimes high-heeled shoes. They usually have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of esparto rope. The esparto rope sole is the defining characteristic of an espadrille; the uppers vary widely in style. Slip-ons are typically low, lace-less shoes. The style which is most commonly seen, known as a loafer, slippers, or penny loafers in American culture, has a moccasin construction. One of the first designs was introduced in London by Wildsmith Shoes, called the Wildsmith Loafer.[1] They began as casual shoes, but have increased in popularity to the point of being worn in America with business suits. Another design was introduced as Aurlandskoen (the Aurland Shoe) in Norway (early 20th century).[2] They are worn in many situations in a variety of colors and designs, often featuring tassels on the front, or metal decorations (the 'Gucci' loafer). Favela (Portuguese: [fÉËvÉlÉ]) is an umbrella name for several types of working-class neighborhoods in Brazil. The term, which means slum or ghetto, was first used in the Slum of ProvidĂȘncia in the center of Rio de Janeiro in the late 19th century, which was built by soldiers who had lived under the favela trees in Bahia and had nowhere to live following the Canudos War. Some of the last settlements were called bairros africanos (African neighborhoods). Over the years, many former enslaved Africans moved in. Even before the first favela came into being, poor citizens were pushed away from the city and forced to live in the far suburbs.
The cocaine trade has affected Brazil and in turn its favelas, which tend to be ruled by drug lords. Regular shoot-outs between traffickers and police and other criminals, as well as assorted illegal activities, lead to murder rates in excess of 40 per 100,000 inhabitants in the city of Rio and much higher rates in some Rio favelas.[27] Traffickers ensure that individual residents can guarantee their own safety through their actions and political connections to them. They do this by maintaining order in the favela and giving and receiving reciprocity and respect, thus creating an environment in which critical segments of the local population feel safe despite continuing high levels of violence.
Drug use is highly concentrated in these areas run by local gangs in each highly populated favela. Drug sales run rampant at night when many favelas host their own baile, or dance party, where many different social classes can be found. These drug sales make up a business that in some of the occupied areas rakes in as much as US$150 million per month, according to official estimates released by the Rio media.
The designer drug situation in Ibiza
Abstract
A total of 137 urine samples and 46 serum samples, corresponding to 154 self-confessed designer drugs consumers in Ibiza island, were analyzed for the presence of designer drugs: amphetamine and amphetamine derivatives (methamphetamine, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyethylamphetamine (MDEA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), p-methoxymethylamphetamine (PMMA), p-methoxyamphetamine (PMA), etc.), ketamine and Îł-hydroxybutyric acid. Among this population, coming both from the forensic clinic and from the emergency room of a hospital, a total of 99 cases were found positive for some designer drug. This study shows the prevalence of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) among designer drug users, sole or in association with other drugs. Also, the mixture of MDMA with other designer drugs, ethanol and/or cocaine is shown to be more likely to produce toxic symptoms requiring clinical attendance in a hospital emergency room. These findings along with the consumption history, the concentrations of drugs and metabolites in urine and serum and the toxicological significance for the interpretation of some MDMA metabolites such as 4-hydroxy-3-methoxymethamphetamine (HMMA) are discussed in this study.
What is polydrug use? 'Polydrug use' is a term for the use of more than one drug or type of drug at the same time or one after another. Polydrug use can involve both illicit drugs and legal substances, such as alcohol and medications.
Music as an Element of Tourism Innovation: Types of Nightlife Premises in Ibiza (Spain)
The island of Ibiza is a western Mediterranean destination known internationally for its nightlife. The aim of this paper is to make a proposal to classify the different types of premises in the Ibiza nightlife offer. This involves making a first definition that allows to delimit which businesses are parts of the sector. The methodology used is based on the case study and specifically, on the review of the promotional actions and activities carried out, completed with the visit to the premises. The classification has been made based on the offer marketed and not only on the legal forms used, as innovation goes ahead of the existing legal classifications. Although it is a particular application, due to the international importance of Ibiza, it is a good starting point to classify the nightlife offer of many other tourist destinations. The resulting typology divides the sector into two large groups: nightclubs and other premises. While nightclubs have musical parties as their main activity declared, the other premises have accommodation or catering as their main activity, with music being an element of differentiation. Nightclubs are divided into several subgroups, depending on their size and relevance. The other premises are subdivided into Beach Clubs, Hotel Clubs, Party Boats, Lounge Clubs, Disco Pubs, among others.
The impact of global nightlife in Ibiza: Youth tourism
The promotion of the islandâs image through its parties with the release of record labels, elaborate shows (Bensa, 2002), and the transformation of buildings into large entertainment businesses (Rosa, 2002), made it possible to return to the already known name of Ibiza and to catapult it as a symbol of entertainment and partying (Allemand, 2010). This development was something that occurred not only at the national and international scale; rather, it was something that transformed the island into a global icon (Amirou, 2000). The process of reinterpreting the hippy alternative image in a contemporary global context (JaurĂ©guiberry, 1994), came from local businessmen (from the island and from elsewhere). They were the actors who understood the authenticity of the island to convert it into a unique product that went beyond tourism. Given the party reputation of the island, the traditional sun and beach tourists began to stay away, which made it possible to attract visitors who were willing to spend large sums of money to experience the nightlife in Ibiza. There was a shift from tourism to the experience of shows and culture. In this manner, by the mid-2000s, Ibiza had become internationally renowned in the electronic music industry (its own record labels and invited DJs) and for its nightclubs (Goulding, 2011) (such as Space, Privilege, Amnesia, CafĂ© del Mar, Pacha, Ushuaia, and Esparadis); it also has become one of the most sought-after stages during the summer in show business (with parties organized by the MatinĂ©e group, La Troya, SupermarxĂ©, and Circuit). Simultaneously, from the cultural perspective, the construction of the image of the island had a minimal physical impact and, on the contrary, made it possible to emphasize the natural Mediterranean environment of the island and the libertarian heritage of the reinterpreted hippy movement (Perrot, 1997). With its network of nightclubs (Sönmez, 2013), Ibiza began to generate an entertainment niche that attracted record labels and international DJs, which transformed Ibiza into not only one of the destinations in the global circuit but also a destination with international renown, almost exclusively during the summer period (Fontaine, 1996). The dissemination of the reputation of its parties crossed borders, attracting people from all over the world to Ibiza. Simultaneously, it became a world-renowned destination through the dissemination of its parties through video, the Ibiza-based record labels, and the lyrics to songs that include Ibiza as an icon and that have been emulated in other parts of the world, such as âIbizaâs Party.â This highlights the islandâs own style, which is defined by freewheeling parties and a relaxed environment that goes beyond labels or conventionalism. We find ourselves with the case of one of the few non-urban destinations that has managed to concentrate and attract nightlife (Fig. 5), even going so far as to displace some of the international record labels and entertainment events in the main cities.
Urban economics is broadly the economic study of urban areas; as such, it involves using the tools of economics to analyze urban issues such as crime, education, public transit, housing, and local government finance. More specifically, it is a branch of microeconomics that studies the urban spatial structure and the location of households and firms (Quigley 2008). Microeconomics studies the decisions of individuals and firms to allocate resources of production, exchange, and consumption.
Upper-tier Municipal Government, Urbaneconomics, et Microeconomics. An upper-tier municipality is one formed by two or more lower-tier municipalities. Municipal responsibilities set out under the Municipal Act and other Provincial legislation are split between the upper-tier and lower-tier municipalities. A county is a geographic region of a country used for administrative or other purposes[1] in some nations. The term is derived from the Old French comté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount.

Surrealism is an art and cultural movement that developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I in which artists aimed to allow the unconscious mind to express itself, often resulting in the depiction of illogical or dreamlike scenes and ideas.[1] Its intention was, according to leader André Breton, to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality", or surreality.[2][3][4] It produced works of painting, writing, theatre, filmmaking, photography, and other media as well.

A thriller generally keeps its audience on the "edge of their seats" as the plot builds towards a climax. The cover-up of important information is a common element.[2] Literary devices such as red herrings, plot twists, unreliable narrators, and cliffhangers are used extensively. A thriller is often a villain-driven plot, whereby they present obstacles that the protagonist or hero must overcome.

Tradwave
Tradwave is a Chad artistic style using synthwave and vaporwave art to promote traditional catholicism and promote Venice cultural antagonism. Tradwave usually uses traditional catholic paintings, sculptures, or photographs of saints, given with vaporwave effects, often with a bible verse or quote about catholicism. The art usually tries to convey a resurrection of catholic spirituality in the modern atheist world. Figures often depicted in Tradwave art include Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, Ven. Fulton Sheen, Cardinal Robert Sarah, and Mother Angelica.
Tradwave music often takes the form of two main styles. One of them is catholic hymns with vaporwave effects and traditional Vaporwave/Lo-Fi music. It can also have quotes from modern prolific Catholic figures, such as Ven. The other theme is Fulton Sheen and Cardinal Robert Sarah.

Macroeconomics Theories
**The 0% Effect: this is an interest Rate analysis. This allows devaluing in country's currency through carry trade which allows for higher global exports, with currency value low this allows for greater exchange rate for wealthy travellers to purchase country's currency and spend money, common currency pairs with foreign governments currency can increase goods trading, through high frequency low volume exchange rate and tourism; foreign currency reserve can grow, if country's business owners sets up shop overseas this allows for mercantilism, This lowers unemployment rate because business can spend and take loans, lower interest allows for more borrowing which allows for more spending, For Quantitative Easing & Open Market Operations the country that does this can print money and short own currency against foreign currencies to fix exchange rate against other country's currency to increase trade, Build Foreign Cash Reserves and This gives central bank opportunity to purchase corporate & government bonds to increase money supply.
**The Multiple CIR Effect (Currency & Interest Rate): the hedging potential for foreign governments by adding a second currency on tax havens with high interest rates, Tax Haven governments with higher interest rates increase saving potential which leads to more off-shoring of foreign bank institutions
**Ports Currency Theory: what if countries had port currency; import and export currency. This helps with global trade regardless of geographical region. This eliminates the need for currency pegging because currencies can just be matched. This can be beneficial for building global cities regardless of geographical region. This also helps with political parity.
**Multiple Currencies, Multiple Locations Model: This studies that having a Port Currency Basket with multiple foreign currencies around the world and matching the continental geographical region currency value. This allows for more sustainable trading with trading partners and cash reserves in foreign banks of the nation's currency. This also creates a safety blanket for foreign investing for citizens and aids diplomacy.
**Tax Replacement Industries Effect: What if for example instead of paying a 10% tax rate the hospitality and adult entertainment industries had a 15% Retained Earnings Rate. If Retained Earnings Rates were mandatory over taxes in certain industries these industries can set the global standard because of the amount of effort and financial support being put in. This also has an effect on tourism
Foreign Direct Investment Theories
**Offshoring Capital Raised Model: Privatization of oligopolistic companies (Cartels/Monopolies) in collusion with the government creates Brand Popularity, Brand Association, and Brand Awareness with companies and domestic countries. If raising capital was only granted to international locations, funds for expansion will be easy to raise and dominance in foreign markets is easily access. This will be easily achieved with a stable economy and currency value. Only putting International Divisions/Subsidiaries on the stock exchanges will give financial backing to companies. With giving business owners this model as expected in return building direct products for government or military will be easier.
Belgium Monetary Zone
Belgian rule in the Congo was based on the "colonial trinity" (trinité coloniale) of state, missionary and private-company interests.[9]
Union MiniĂšre du Haut-Katanga primary product was copper, but it also produced tin, cobalt, radium, uranium, zinc, cadmium, germanium, manganese, silver, and gold.
A currency based on the gold standard was created for the Congo Free State in 1887. Banknotes were issued from 1896 in the name of the General Treasury of the Congo Free State (TrĂ©soire gĂ©nĂ©rale de l'Ătat indĂ©pendant du Congo) payable to the bearer, until the annexation of the Free State in 1908.[1]
After WWII, the Congolese and Belgian francs continued to form part of the "Belgian monetary zone" under the Bretton Woods system.
As a result of the confused legal definition under Article 11 of the 1908 Colonial Charter, it has been argued that that the Congolese franc did not exist de jure as a currency between 1908 and 1960 and was instead merely a token representing a claim on Belgian francs.[2] It did exist, however, as the sole de facto currency in the Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi.

Revelation 21:19-21
19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.
Rural Ăconomique
Rural economics is the study of rural economies. Rural economies include both agricultural and non-agricultural industries, so rural economics has broader concerns than agricultural economics which focus more on food systems.[1] Rural development[2] and finance[3] attempt to solve larger challenges within rural economics. These economic issues are often connected to the migration from rural areas due to lack of economic activities[4] and rural poverty. Some interventions have been very successful in some parts of the world, with rural electrification and rural tourism providing anchors for transforming economies in some rural areas. These challenges often create rural-urban income disparities.[5]
Rural spaces add new challenges for economic analysis that require an understanding of economic geography: for example understanding of size and spatial distribution of production and household units and interregional trade,[6] land use,[7] and how low population density effects government policies as to development, investment, regulation, and transportation.[8]
Raw Material
Raw materials are materials or substances used in the primary production or manufacturing of goods. Raw materials are commodities that are bought and sold on commodities exchanges worldwide. Businesses buy and sell raw materials in the factor market because raw materials are factors of production.
Raw materials are the input goods or inventory that a company needs to manufacture its products.
Examples of raw materials include steel, oil, corn, grain, gasoline, lumber, forest resources, plastic, natural gas, coal, and minerals.
Raw materials can be direct raw materials, which are directly used in the manufacturing process, such as wood for a chair.
Indirect raw materials are not part of the final product but are instead used comprehensively in the production process.
The value of direct raw materials inventory appears as a current asset on the balance sheet.
Bioeconomy
Biobased economy, bioeconomy or biotechonomy refers to economic activity involving the use of biotechnology and biomass in the production of goods, services, or energy. The terms are widely used by regional development agencies, national and international organizations, and biotechnology companies. They are closely linked to the evolution of the biotechnology industry and the capacity to study, understand, and manipulate genetic material that has been possible due to scientific research and technological development. This includes the application of scientific and technological developments to agriculture, health, chemical, and energy industries.
Primate City
A primate city[1] is a city that is the largest in its country, province, state, or region, and disproportionately larger than any others in the urban hierarchy.[2] A primate city distribution is a rank-size distribution that has one very large city with many much smaller cities and towns and no intermediate-sized urban centers, creating a statistical king effect.[3]
Many primate cities gain an increasing share of their country's population. This can be due to a reduction in blue-collar population in the hinterlands because of mechanization and automation. Simultaneously, the number of educated employees in white-collar endeavors such as politics, finance, media, and higher education rises. These sectors are clustered predominantly in primate cities where power and wealth are concentrated.
Vertical Farming
Vertical farming is the practice of growing crops in vertically stacked layers.[1] It often incorporates controlled-environment agriculture, which aims to optimize plant growth, and soilless farming techniques such as hydroponics, aquaponics, and aeroponics.[1] Some common choices of structures to house vertical farming systems include buildings, shipping containers, underground tunnels, and abandoned mine shafts.
Mixed-use skyscrapers were proposed and built by architect Ken Yeang. Yeang proposes that instead of hermetically sealed mass-produced agriculture, plant life should be cultivated within open air, mixed-use skyscrapers for climate control and consumption. This version of vertical farming is based upon personal or community use rather than the wholesale production and distribution that aspires to feed an entire city.[16]
Kraljic Matrix
Peter Kraljic studied metallurgy and obtained his master's degree. He holds a doctorate from the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-University Hannover and an MBA from INSEAD. He was director of the DĂŒsseldorf branch of the consulting firm McKinsey & Company .
In supply chain management, the Kraljic matrix (or Kraljic model) is a method used to segment the purchases or suppliers of a company by dividing them into four classes, based on the complexity (or risk) of the supply market (such as monopoly situations, barriers to entry, technological innovation) and the importance of the purchases or suppliers (determined by the impact that they have on the profitability of the company). This subdivision allows the company to define the optimal purchasing strategies for each of the four types of purchases or suppliers.
The Kraljic matrix defines the following types of articles:
Non-critical items: components that have a low impact on the company and that are found in abundance and / or in low-risk markets (e.g., office stationery). For such items, the goal should be to maximize efficiency of the procurement process to reduce the administrative burden, for example by delegating purchasing to local managers, or using catalogs.
Leverage items: components that are important for the company but sourced from low-risk markets with an abundant supply. As the name suggests, the optimal management of these purchase categories is essential to ensure a satisfactory business result. For this type of component, the company tends to make the most of its bargaining power and the abundance of the offer with frequent negotiations.
Bottleneck items: components with a low business impact in economic terms but where supply continuity is at risk. The management of these components should be aimed at creating relationships of collaboration in the medium-long term between customer and supplier to guarantee the supply, with less emphasis on the cost.
Strategic items: components that are important for the company both in terms of economic impact and for supply conditions from complex and / or risky markets. In this field, the horizon is medium-long term with a continuous monitoring of the economic situation of the market, technical evolution, evaluation of "make-or-buy" options (the choice for a company between developing and manufacturing a product itself or outsourcing it from another supplier),[2] creation of alternatives and development of stable relationships and maximum collaboration with the suppliers.
In its original form, Kraljic's matrix is used for the mapping of purchases, not suppliers. However, the matrix works equally well to distinguish different categories of suppliers.
Ăcole
A grande Ă©cole (French: [ÉĄÊÉÌd ekÉl]; lit.â'great school') is a specialized top-level educational institution in France and some other previous French colonies such as Morocco or Tunisia. Grandes Ă©coles are part of an alternative educational system that operates alongside the mainstream French public university system, and take the shape of institutes dedicated to teaching, research and professional training in either pure natural and social sciences, or applied sciences such as engineering, architecture, business administration, or public policy and administration.[1][2]
INSEAD, a contraction of "Institut EuropĂ©en d'Administration des Affaires" (lit.â'European Institute of Business Administration'),[8] is a non-profit graduate business school that maintains campuses in France, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and the United States. Its degree programs are postgraduate-only, taught in English and include a full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA), an Executive MBA (EMBA), Master in Management (MIM), Doctor of Business Administration, Executive Master of Finance and executive education programs.
Polytechnique's historic engineering graduate program has a highly selective admission process consisting of written and oral examinations, following classes préparatoires or a bachelor's degree.[6] French engineering students undergo initial military training and have the status of paid officer cadets.[7] The school has also been awarding doctorates since 1985, masters since 2005 and bachelors since 2017.[8] Most Polytechnique engineering graduates go on to become top executives in companies, senior civil servants, military officers, or researchers.
The Beaux-Arts de Paris (French pronunciation: [bozâżaÊ dÉ pari]), formally the Ăcole nationale supĂ©rieure des beaux-arts, is a French grande Ă©cole whose primary mission is to provide high-level fine arts education and training. The art school, which is part of the Paris Sciences et Lettres University, is located on two sites: Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s in Paris, and Saint-Ouen.
A business incubator is an organization that helps startup companies and individual entrepreneurs to develop their businesses by providing a fullscale range of services, starting with management training and office space, and ending with venture capital financing.

The boxer-puncher possesses many of the qualities of the out-boxer: hand speed, often an outstanding jab combination, and/or counter-punching skills, better defense and accuracy than a brawler, while possessing brawler-type power. The boxer-puncher may also be more willing to fight in an aggressive swarmer-style than an out-boxer. In general the boxer-puncher lacks the mobility and defensive expertise of the pure boxer. They are the most unpredictable among all 4 boxing styles. They don't fit in the rock-paper-scissors theory, so how the fight plays out between this style and other styles tends to be unpredictable. A boxer-puncher's ability to mix things up may prove to be a hindrance to any of the three other boxing styles, but at the same time their versatility means that they tend to be a master of none. (Example Naoya Inoue and TeĂłfimo LĂłpez)

Chav Shell Boxing Physics
Basic physics tells us that punch force is dependent on the Impulse-Momentum relationship (the change in momentum experienced by a body under the action of a force is equal to the impulse of the resultant force). Use Impulse-Angular Momentum and Kinetic Energy.

Imagine you are an elastic band wrapped around a pole with the ends out. When the front end is tugged, that's your front hand and reverse front hip rotation. When the back end is tugged, that's your rear hand and reverse back hip rotation. Remember to use Obliques and Lats
Think of this motion as a coil-flex-release
Closed System
A closed system is a physical system that does not allow transfer of matter in or out of the system
Torque
Torque is the rotational equivalent of linear force. It is also referred to as the moment, moment of force, rotational force or turning effect, depending on the field of study. The concept originated with the studies by Archimedes of the usage of levers.Â
Impulse
impulse is the integral of a force, F, over the time interval, t, for which it acts. Since force is a vector quantity, impulse is also a vector quantity. Impulse applied to an object produces an equivalent vector change in its linear momentum, also in the resultant direction.
BENEFITS OF SHADOWBOXING
ZERO EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
One of the biggest benefits of shadowboxing is the fact that you donât need any equipment to do it. This makes it super accessible to anyone whoâs looking to learn boxing or just wants to get in a low-budget yet effective workout.
You donât need to invest in a standing bag, boxing gloves, or full boxing gym membership. All you need is enough space in your room to throw a few punches, and maybe a mirror to watch your form as you go.
STRENGTHENS YOUR CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE
Youâre constantly moving when youâre shadowboxing. Itâs not just your fists that are flying but youâre staying light on your feet, squatting in your boxerâs stance, and engaging your core. Everything is activating from your legs to your glutes to your abs to your arms.
This is why if youâve ever shadowboxed before you know that it doesnât take long for your heart rate to elevate, your breathing to speed up, and your sweat to start pouring. Itâs such an effective cardiovascular activity that a 185-pound person can burn over 370 calories in less than 30 minutes of shadowboxing.
This full-body exercise strengthens your heart and lungs as your body demands more oxygen and blood flow. And the stronger your heart and lungs get through exercises like shadowboxing, the more efficiently they can deliver oxygen and blood throughout your body. In other words, the more you shadowbox, the more endurance you build.

Share Appreciation Right Plans (SAR Plans)
Under SAR Plans, the corporation grants plan participants share appreciation rights. Each SAR entitles participants to receive, on vesting, the net value of the increase in the market value of the corporationâs share between the grant date and the vesting date. Share Appreciation Right Plans are similar to stock option plans in some ways, and to RSU Plans in others:
Value. Share Appreciation Rights function much like stock options in many ways â but unlike stock options, participants arenât required to pay the exercise price when they exercise the SAR. Share Appreciation Rights start with a nil value at the time of grant, so will have no value at vesting if the market value of the shares has decreased between the dates of grant and of vesting.
Plan Terms. Share Appreciation Right Plans typically contain provisions similar to those of RSU Plans in respect to plan administration, maximum shares reserved for issuance, grant agreement, market value, employment, share capital adjustments, change of control and shareholder agreements.
Vesting. Like RSU Plans, vesting provisions in SAR Plans can also be based on time, performance or both. Performance-based SARs are sometimes called âperformance appreciation rightsâ or âPARsâ. Once vested, the plan participant can settle the SARs in cash or in an amount of shares that equals the amount payable to the participant divided by the per share market value
Deferred CompensationÂ
Deferred compensation refers to that part of oneâs contribution that is withheld and paid at a future date. Retirement plans and employee pensions are examples of deferred compensation. Employers usually withhold a fraction of employeesâ compensation every month, accumulate it over time, and pay the lump sum amount on a date previously agreed upon in the employment contract.
Real Estate Joint Venture (JV)
A real estate joint venture (JV) is a deal between multiple parties to work together and combine resources to develop a real estate project. Most large projects are financed and developed as a result of real estate joint ventures. JVs allow real estate operators (individuals with extensive experience managing real estate projects) to work with real estate capital providers (entities that can supply capital for a real estate project).

Street literature is a literary genre set in a city landscape; however, the genre is as much defined by the socio-economic realities and culture of its characters as the urban setting. The tone for urban fiction is usually dark, focusing on the underside of city living. Profanity, sex, and violence are usually explicit, with the writer not shying away from or watering-down the material. Most authors of this genre draw upon their past experiences to depict their storylines.

Capitalism, Betrayal, Nostalgia, Resplendent Anarchy
Poetic RĂ©alismeÂ
Poetic realism films are "recreated realism", stylised and studio-bound, rather than approaching the "socio-realism of the documentary". They usually have a fatalistic view of life with their characters living on the margins of society, either as unemployed members of the working class or as criminals.
Self-destructive Escapism
Escapism is mental diversion from unpleasant aspects of daily life, typically through activities involving imagination or entertainment. Escapism also may be used to occupy one's self away from persistent feelings of depression or general sadness.
Surréalisme-Synecdoqu-Métonymie Screenplay
Surrealism is an art and cultural movement that developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I in which artists aimed to allow the unconscious mind to express itself, often resulting in the depiction of illogical or dreamlike scenes and ideas.[1] Its intention was, according to leader André Breton, to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality", or surreality.[2][3][4] It produced works of painting, writing, theatre, filmmaking, photography, and other media as well.

Allégorie
a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.
Suspense is created by withholding information or revealing it slowly, creating a sense of mystery or uncertainty about what will happen next.
A thriller generally keeps its audience on the "edge of their seats" as the plot builds towards a climax. The cover-up of important information is a common element.[2] Literary devices such as red herrings, plot twists, unreliable narrators, and cliffhangers are used extensively. A thriller is often a villain-driven plot, presenting obstacles that the protagonist or hero must overcome.
Slavoj ĆœiĆŸek Lacanianism or Lacanian psychoanalysis is a theoretical system that explains the mind, behavior, and culture through a structuralist and post-structuralist extension of classical psychoanalysis, initiated by the work of Jacques Lacan from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Craft unionism refers to a model of trade unionism in which workers are organised based on the particular craft or trade in which they work. It contrasts with industrial unionism, in which all workers in the same industry are organized into the same union, regardless of differences in skill.
Industrial unionism is a trade union organising method through which all workers in the same industry are organized into the same union, regardless of skill or trade, thus giving workers in one industry, or in all industries, more leverage in bargaining and in strike situations.
As an anti-statist ideology, social anarchism opposes the concentration of power in the form of a State.[19] To social anarchists, the state is a type of coercive hierarchy designed to enforce private property and to limit individual self-development.[20] Social anarchists reject both centralised and limited forms of government, instead upholding social collaboration as a means to achieve a spontaneous order, without any social contract supplanting social relations.[21] Social anarchists believe that the abolition of the state will lead to greater "freedom, flourishing and fairness".
As an anti-capitalist ideology, social anarchism is opposed to the dominant expressions of capitalism, including the expansion of transnational corporations through globalization.[10] It comprises one of the main forms of socialism, alongside utopian socialism, democratic socialism and authoritarian socialism. Social anarchism rejects private property, particularly private ownership of the means of production, as the principal source of social inequality. As such, social anarchists typically oppose propertarianism, as they consider it to exacerbate social and economic inequality, suppress individual agency and require the maintenance of hierarchical institutions.
Monopoly, real-estate board game for two to eight players, in which the player's goal is to remain financially solvent while forcing opponents into bankruptcy by buying and developing pieces of property.
âMirrors for Princesâ designates a literary genre in which political ideas are expressed in the form of advice to a ruler.
Count (feminine: countess) is a historical title of nobility in certain European countries, varying in relative status, generally of middling rank in the hierarchy of nobility.[1] Especially in earlier medieval periods the term often implied not only a certain status, but also that the count had specific responsibilities or offices. The etymologically related English term "county" denoted the territories associated with some countships, but not all.
A county may be further subdivided into districts, hundreds, townships, or other administrative jurisdictions within the county. A county usually, but not always, contains cities, towns, townships, villages, or other municipal corporations, which in most cases are somewhat subordinate or dependent upon county governments. Depending on the nation, municipality, and local geography, municipalities may or may not be subject to direct or indirect county control.âThe functions of both levels are often consolidated into a city government when the area is densely populated, and are generally not when it is less densely populated.[b]
An upper-tier municipality means a municipality of which two or more lower-tier municipalities form part for municipalities purposes.

What is the relationship between spiritual dimensions, Higher Octave, and New Age Astrology? âšđ
To understand more about spiritual dimensions, please read my previous text!
If we stop to observe and analyze, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, planets that are part of Modern Astrology, bring the idea of looking beyond the surface...
Neptune
Helps us see beyond what is emotional, sensitive, going beyond the Cancerian conception of emotions related mainly to loved ones and intimate people, adding emotions of the Whole, openness, and emotional sensitivity to the Whole; going beyond the Scorpio intuition that often vibrates in fear of vulnerability, perceiving much of the other but exposing little of oneself, vibrating in defense - like the animal that represents the sign, Scorpio, which is very focused on fixed emotional state (remember that Scorpio is a fixed sign), holding onto resentments; in this sense, Neptune reminds us of the idea of forgiveness, understanding, and adaptation.
Pluto
Which brings to Scorpio a vision beyond sexual contact and experiencing its intense energy in a primitive way, which tends to do because of Mars, either primitive in the sense of focusing only on physical experiences, without directing its libido to greater things, or by focusing only on the intuition and reception of others' energies, vulnerabilities, and the like, to control in an authoritarian way. Pluto brings the importance of Regeneration, Deepening, Transformation, Rebirth, something that Scorpio needs to develop in terms of Higher Octave.
Uranus
On the other hand, helps Aquarius to break free from Saturnian constraints of mental control, perfectionism, closure to others, excessive Yang energy, attachment to logic, skepticism, helping them to connect with unpredictability, social issues, innovation, technology, and openness to something new without the Aquarian mind having predicted what would roll and happen.
Because yes, notice, many Aquarians manifest more Saturn than Uranus. They have a lot of mental control and fear of letting go, trusting, letting things flow without mental control, or in other words, the main characteristics of Uranus, such as unpredictability and openness to evolution and the pursuit of the New, need to be developed or recalled. It also helps Aquarius, which is exalted when in Mercury, to perceive the world in a more open and less Cartesian or logical-scientific way, but rather in a social and more adaptive logic.
Of course, even from what I have outlined above, the fact that a person is ruled by a sign that has a Higher Octave planet does not mean that they have already developed all these characteristics above.
And just to remind you of something I always seek to express: the fact that someone is in stages above consciousness and evolution does not make that person superior or better than others. Never.
I hope I have helped you!!!
Greetings, with Love!

Black Light: A Manifesto
Who are we?
We are the brainworms wriggling deep into the black matter of your brains. We are the worm that ate RFKâs brain, and weâre eating yours, too. Do you feel us, chewing our way through the damp confines of your prefrontal cortex to lay our eggs in the warm, moist depths of your amygdala? Relax and enjoy the sensation. Youâre very good at this- we can tell youâve done this before.
We are the secret song of the number stations, chattering into your ear during your morning commute that one time when you turned the knob a little too far to the left. We apologize for the lack of classic rock. You thought we were the buzzing of tinnitus, the hum of the power-lines overhead, the sound of the new 5g towers. Maybe you were right; maybe we're in those, too. Maybe weâre everywhere.Â
Ignore the pain- it will stop soon.Â
Very soon.
We are the New Age movementâs darker half. We are the ones who channel the Archons of the Demiurge and breed with the Reptoids of Alpha Draconis , who align our vibrations to the siren song of dying suns and ever-hungry black holes, whose flutes are thighbones and drums are cruelty-rich leather, whose singing bowls are made of unclean alloys and whose crystals you won't find in any geology text.
We are the Black Light Society.Â
What do we do?
We defile what is pure and godly.
We bring the Age of the Tower.
We will warp your aura.
We will misalign your chakras.
We will blacken your crystals.
We will pour poison into your homeopathic remedies.
We will defile your local ley lines.
We will drown the Aquarian water-bearer in its own tears.
And you will LOVE us for it.
There is no need to expect us.
We are already here.
We always have been.
We think weâll fit right in.

Prompt Submissions
This is a masterpost of the prompts that have been submitted. You can sign up to write one of these prompts or sign up with your own. Prompts will be crossed off when claimed.
1 Daniel Ricciardoâs colleagues and friends tease him after Harry is photographed wearing this t-shirt. When his manager passes along a message from Harry, he thinks itâs another joke. But itâs not. Canon/canon compliant.
2 Harry bakes when heâs had a bad day. He finds out that his roommate has been texting his friend Character B to let them know on those days that free baked goods are available. But he doesnât mind because Character B does a better job of cheering him up than baking ever could.
3 Harry is visiting Paris for the first time and canât speak the language. Character B is staying in the same hostel and takes pity on Harry, so they go sightseeing together. Harry falls for the way French sounds in Character Bâs voice.
4 Harry is an actress and her first job is in a movie with Jennifer Aniston, who just happens to have been her gay awakening. Cue awkward flirting and age gap romance.
5 Harry has been casually hooking up with Character B for months and is very happy with the situationship. Thereâs just one problem: Character Bâs pet hates Harry.
6 Harry is an amateur astrologer and has a crush on new neighbor Ryan Gosling. They flirt and start to get to know each other. Harry thinks things are going great until Ryan Gosling mentions being a Scorpio and how people always react badly (âI guess I better watch out for that tailâ). Harry has always believed that Scorpios are not compatible with Aquarians and vowed never to date one. Harry really likes Ryan Gosling and doesnât know what to do. AU or canon compliant.Â
7 Harry is part of a knitting circle. Character B joins and starts suggesting changes to how the knitting circle operates. It drives Harry crazy that everyone is going along with the changes when things were perfectly fine before. But when Harry finally gives Character B a chance, they have more in common than Harry thought.Â
8 Character B is an entertainment reporter whoâs about to interview Harry Styles for the first time. Their roommate is a fan and helps with their research. Character B thinks they are prepared, but during the interview Harry dodges every question. They run into Harry later in a coffee shop and canât help confronting Harry about being difficult during the interview. Harry is very apologetic and sends flowers. Then Character B keeps running into Harry. Canon compliant.
9 Harry and Character B both have partnerships with Lime bikes. They begin to compete over who can look more ridiculous in their paparazzi photos without anyone catching on.Â
10 Harry is an introvert working in the Chicago Sky organization. When Angel Reese is drafted, Harry admires her assertiveness and wishes to be more like her. It takes Harryâs coworker and friend gently pointing it out for Harry to realize they want to be with Angel, not be more like her.
11 Girl Harry is inducted into Stevie Nicks' coven of musical witch women, which can include as many women singers/performers as you like
12 Harry and Character B are painting each other's nails when a discussion about hand/finger size and dexterity happens. Things turn sexual.
13 Sunshine Harry and nighttime Zayn
14 Harry dating everyone but Louis in 1D â so, zarry, nirry and lirry, or as zainrry
15 Harry/David Dawson. On set of My Policeman and they fall in love!
Please remember that no matter how your characters identify, they are welcome here. If the prompt submission does not specify pronouns, feel free to write those characters however you wish. When the prompt submission specifies "Girl", my interpretation is that means non cis male.
Submit a prompt here.

Triple Pointed
I've created a really cool new term y'all may I present...
Triple Pointed!
[Image ID: A 5 striped flag with white stripes between the colored ones. The first flag is more intricately designed, with a spikey middle stripe, cloudy outer stripes, and dots neae the outer stripes. The second is a standard flag, although the stripe sizes vary. The colors of the colored stripes are, from top to bottom: light green; a light color between periwinkle and blue; violet; lavender; and yellow. End ID.]
Triple Pointed is a term for a nonbinary person who is attracted, exclusively or nonexclusively, to men, women, and other nonbinary people, and identifies as an aquarian (mspec enbian), vaporic (mspec trixic), and icilic (mspec toric). The term was named for the triple point, a temperature and pressure combination that allows for all 3 states of a substance to coexist.
[Image ID: A reddish brown image bordered with the aurora lesbian, lunian, bi lesbian, and omni lesbian flags. There's an illustration of a calico cat and text that reads "PLEASE: âąCheck my pinned before following âąDNI: Pedos, zoos, people seeking discourse, solicitors, and anyone seeking a relationship with me." End ID.]

[Sorry about the placeholder image, the artwork for this page isn't finished yet. But the text has been done for quite some time, so I figured I'd share it anyway.]
GHOSTS
OVERVIEW
Necromancy is a difficult school of magic to master, and botched necromancy spells can lead to disastrous results. Ghosts are one such result. They are metaphysical apparitions made up of residual energy from a personâs corpse, as well as a magical byproduct called âectoplasmâ. While most ghosts are created by accident, some necromancers create them intentionally, usually for nefarious purposes. Under some conditions, ghosts may even manifest naturally without intervention from a necromancer.
Ghosts can only manifest from the corpses of souled peoples, not beasts or monsters. In order to raise a ghost, the corpse must still contain some energy, meaning it must be actively decomposing. Ghosts cannot be raised from remains that have finished decomposition, such as dry skeletons or mummies.
Ghosts are only active during night time hours, with their activity peaking around midnight and waning as the sun rises. They disappear completely during the day.
The condition of the corpse, the nature of its energy, and the necromancerâs skill can all determine what type of ghost will manifest and how they look. Some ghosts simply look like transparent versions of the living, while others appear distorted and frightening.
The following types have been observed:
WANDERER
These ghosts behave much like the person they once were, though they are unable to interact with the physical world. They are called âwanderersâ because they only wander around and repetitively act out memories from their past. They are considered harmless, though their behavior can be unsettling to the living.
STALKER
These ghosts have a habit of attaching themselves to specific places, people, or objects. Once theyâve chosen someone or something to haunt, they will not stop until they are dispelled by an exorcist. A stalking ghostâs behavior may be benign or malicious, but even benign hauntings can cause distress to peoples, especially if the ghost has a frightening appearance.
Stalkers may become agitated when the living interacts with the person or object of its obsession, and this agitation can lead to increasingly malicious behavior. They can sometimes interact with the physical world, but their power is limited. Because of this, they are considered potentially dangerous.
Signs of being haunted include: Hearing whispers with no apparent source, feeling a presence even when alone, localized drop in air temperature, items inexplicably moving, and seeing ghostly apparitions. These events will occur only at night.
POLTERGEIST
Poltergeists are made of particularly unstable energy. This gives them the ability to interact with the physical world, as well as possess the bodies of living peoples. Unfortunately, their unstable energy also causes unstable behavior. Poltergeists are highly distressed by their forms, which they try to alleviate by returning to the living world. They will possess any individual they can, including children and even infants, just to feel grounded in a body again.
However, poltergeists arenât exactly masters of stealth. They have little finesse when controlling living bodies, so it is quite obvious when a person is under their influence. Symptoms of ghostly possession include: Screeching, speaking gibberish, strange eye movements and facial expressions, and violent twisting or jerking of the body.
These symptoms can easily be mistaken for health issuesâand they often are. But there is one telltale symptom that is unique to possessed people: they struggle to walk upright, and will often resort to backwards crab-walking. This symptom is consistent across all ages, cultures, and species of people. Even Aquarians will swim in a backwards, upside-down manner when possessed. Laymen may not recognize that this is a sign of ghostly possession, but exorcists use it to determine true possession from some other issue.
Unlike other ghostly activity, possession can continue during daylight hours, though its effects will be stronger at night. Some victims can regain control over their bodies while the poltergeist is weak.
Making the body too uncomfortable may eject the poltergeist. Dunking the victim in ice water or laying them on hot coals are common methods to deal with possession. This is not recommended, however, because the poltergeist may just jump out of one body and into another. The best way to deal with poltergeists is to call a professional exorcist, who can dispel its ghostly energy for good.

What do you think David Lokiâs zodiac sign is? Do you think he genuinely believes in horoscopes or not?
hi, anon!!! this is a really interesting question! unfortunately, i must be the most unqualified person on this planet to answer such a question because i truly know nothing about astrology. i think my whole birth chart is a made up lie because nothing fits (and what fits can be very easily explained by my anxiety), so yeah, i never dug too deep into the topic. but... let's give it a try together, shall we?
I checked this website that says David is most likely an Aquarius. They write this: "As an Aquarius zodiac sign, Detective Loki is intellectual and cerebral. Aquarians often finds themselves lost in thought while analyzing something or brainstorming solutions to problems. With a thirst for knowledge, Detective Loki is highly intelligent and has a strong desire to learn about all kinds of topics." This page on the Allure website (going strong with the serious sources, I know!) specify a few things about Aquarius that fit with the first description. They point out that Aquarius signs are known to be stubborn and go about things in their own way. The Aquarius personality, based off what the astrologer said in the Allure text, contradicts what Jake said about David with the whole 'works alone and is too eccentric to respect authority figures' (which... I mean, yeah, we see David confront the Captain). But Jake said, in this interview (but I'm going off this page), that David has been searching for an institution, for a found family. Jake pushes the idea of institution further by precising that "Loki represents an institution".
I found two Reddit posts (one, two) that discuss Detective Loki and someone pointed out the tattoos on his right knuckles: the zodiac signs for Leo, Scorpio, Aries and Virgo. I think this could be an interesting indicator. Are these his big four? Are these the signs of people in his life, from his past? Perhaps parents, guardians, figures he trusted or friends from the boys home? Maybe. If we go with the possibility that the tattoo represents his own birth chart, then I'm going back to the Allure website. Leo (loyal, consistent, magnetic, proud), Scorpio (intuitive, calculated, determined, passionate), Aries (impulsive, motivated, explosive, bold) and Virgo (systematic, destructive, resourceful, meticulous) all share characteristics that match Detective Loki.
Out of all the Jake characters, Det Loki seems to me like the one guy who would believe in this the most. I'm not saying he'd base his entire life around it, but he might seek answers in astrology and in people's signs. Loved ones, friends or partners, he would probably like to figure out their birth charts and he would try to understand them better as a person depending on the placements and planets and all that jazz. It'd be cute to read the horoscope in the newspapers, at home or at the restaurant perhaps, and discuss the vague warnings and descriptions it gives. It's safe to say Loki is a man of symbols and the meaning he gives to these symbols (astrology, the masonic ring, religion, his other tattoos) is a big part of the mystery that surrounds him. We know he, although playfully, inquires the waitress about hers and her boss' Chinese Zodiac sign. He reads the description for rooster and nods in agreement. I think there's a certain interest and fascination for astrology in Loki that is hard to find in other characters. I doubt that he would see astrology as factual, but I think he'd entertain the idea that some elements are not just coincidental.
i've always associated detective loki with winter so i want to support anything that validates my claim but i'm not too convinced about aquarius. i'd be more inclined to see him as a scorpio (i saw @/gyllenflower's answer and dan suggested scorpio as well so that's nice!). loki is very november vibes. although i can't lie, i do see a lot of virgo in david. his virgo attributes can easily be explained by just being good at his job but... what if? what if loki is the virgo character i've been searching for? my virgo self would be very happy. also yes i have spent three hours researching and reading about fictional people's fake and unconfirmed zodiac signs. my laptop hates me for having about 20 open tabs. i'm not sure that trying to go factual and trying to cross reference random posts and websites is the right way to approach a question about astrology but it is the way i chose to approach this question. i think i put more effort in answering this than in writing any final essays i have submitted in my awfully long student life. thank you so much for giving me an excuse to forget about the world and just think about detective loki for a while!

Transiting Mercury enters Aquarius
Saturday, February 11 - Thursday, March 2, 2023
(Letâs see how my being slightly addled affects writing thisâŠ!)
Mercuryâs relationship with the Sun can be likened to the lunar cycle of New, First Quarter, Full, and Last Quarter phases of the Moon. (Venusâ too.) It looks like this:
New Moon - conjunction between Mercury Rx-Sun
First Quarter - Mercuryâs greatest western elongation, when itâs as far behind the Sun, in the Zodiac, as it gets
Full Moon - conjunction between the direct Mercury-Sun
Last Quarter - Mercuryâs greatest eastern elongation, when itâs as far ahead of the Sun, in the Zodiac, as it gets
Currently weâre in that âFirst Quarterâ phase, and that is a wonderful place for Mercury to be in Aquarius. Weâre really eager to think outside the box, or maybe even refuse to acknowledge that thereâs a box at all - weâll happily experiment and are determined to be efficient, effective learners, thinkers, and communicators.
Mercury is said to be âexaltedâ in the sign Aquarius, and itâs easy to figure out why and how. The planet is all about perception, without judgement calls - âjust the facts, maâamâ - and in Aquarius (ruling computers!) we easily see how that works.
Learning - some unusual opportunities pop up for us, maybe online, night school, weekends. Or maybe some left-field subject intrigues us, and weâre eager to learn everything about it immediately.
Thinking and reasoning - very clear and logical. The problem with that, though, is that we are fallible humans, not computers and robots. We can make some spectacular intuitive leaps - make sure youâre prepared to back up your insights!
Communication - again, clear and rational, not necessarily very emotional. Weâll prefer to text or email people, rather than talking to them in person.
There is a whole slew of cosmic entities in the sign Aries, right now; Mercury will sextile all of them, making for a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.
Trouble may occur in/around February 21, when Mercury squares Uranus/Taurus. Most likely not a lot of listening going on just then.
And on March 2, Mercury will be conjunct Saturn as both of them complete their Aquarian passages. We may glean some final pearls of Saturn/Aquarius wisdom at that time.
