Bill vs Discord is specifically Bill Cipher at the peak of his power vs Post Redemption!Discord, with the framing device that Bill is trying to invade Equestria, and Discord is trying to protect his friends.

There's also Spongebob Squarepants vs Superfriends Aquaman. Not Aquaman in general, the version of him from Superfriends.

That version is hilariously one-sided, even WITH the crew boosting Superfriends!Aquaman a bit (with Superfriends!Aquaman actually getting demoralized upon realizing that he is the WORST Aquaman in the entire multiverse), and the writers ultimately ended out the battle absolutely HORRIFIED at Spongebob's power, completely unironically stating that Spongebob was, by far, the most powerful character they'd ever featured on the show (due to him once unraveling the entire universe under his own power).

I repeat, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS was the most OP character to ever feature in Death Battle.

That makes sense just from the rules because a series like Spongebob plays fast and loose with abilities For The Bit™ so yeah he can do whatever.

Also re: Discord vs Bill: Glad to see divorce court is going well.

But also my feelings on that is that Bill may be a powerful af Demon, but Discord is a God

as a long time mad max fury road url holder it gives me no pleasure to report

furiosa is pretty good, but not great! as unlikely as it was that furiosa would be another paradigm shifting, high octane, formalist triumph, i was kinda hoping it would be a little more than this

so many little plot loops that weren’t closed. why didn’t the mysterious disappearance of immortan joe’s newest bride never come up again? why did she grow out rapunzel length hair while trying to pass as a war boy? how did a dirt bike gang manage to sneak up on furiosa and valkyrie? how did furiosa slip away with a bike when she was strung up in the center of a circle of riders? what was praetorian jack’s deal?

fully admit i am biased by my lesbian agenda here but like… their whole thing felt very… male character and female character in proximity to each other now have implied romantic feelings despite apparent lack of chemistry.

really feel like there were so many opportunities to explore different facets and archetypes of femininity/womanhood that were just glossed over. like you go from a matriarchal cooperative to a patriarchal hellscape, from a child bride to a stealth war boy—there is so much there??

i tried not to hold it against chris hemsworth but… god i think yahya abdul-mateen ii would’ve been great in that role, if it weren’t for the aquaman scheduling conflict. i think chris hemsworth’s bantering blowhard routine undercuts his final scene with furiosa—which is kind of the point i know, but tonally, he’s just so discordant throughout the film.

i mean, i still had a nice time at the cinema. if you have the money to spare, by all means throw it at furiosa so george miller can keep making these. they can’t all be fury road.

I go with the intention of Grant’s creators, that he just slowly and randomly has various powers from all the DNA he was injected with pop up. Usually to a mix of annoyance and joy because like “YAY I can fly”. “ F IM STUCK IN A TREE”

But given he’s got not only so many human DNA profiles in play but also Atlantean Kryptonian and Martian holding it all together, his medical situation is also just getting *so* complicated during all this.

He’s being micromanaged by the Docs and on So Many Meds.

Beth is like: “Here’s his chronic pain medication. Here’s the herbal remedy Martian Manhunter gave us for his latent telepathy migraines. Here’s the supplement Aquaman recommended for his dehydration tendencies. He’s prone to overheating so when in doubt, give him an ice bath.
