You know a d&d session is a good one when you're still having thoughts (tm) about it years after it ended. This is how I ended up writing dramatisations of several sessions that are posted here; those sessions were so memorable that I still rotate the events in my head even now.

I decided to look for the email I wrote describing the Laurence Tate Debacle just in case (to make sure that Dru was apprised of the... uhhh... Situation that had unfolded) and I was immediately catapulted back to that February Sunday evening as soon as I read it. Sadly, I still can't recall most of the mono- and dialogues that happened (which is a shame because my husband and the fellow who played Quentin knocked it out of the park roleplay-wise), but I think I can recall juuuust enough to make up something that can approximate the feel of those monents. I don't think the piece will cover everything that happened, but I will certainly add in Felix's improvements to the Watchhouse Eight coffee machine 🙃.

Yesterday was my birthday, and for the first time since covid times, I had a birthday party. Someone else made me a cake(!!!) and I made breakfast tacos for the group. Also my guests brought fruit and bloody marys and wine and snacks, so it was generally a very nice time for all involved. It was so nice to see everyone and it made me so happy at the time, and still happy now looking back on it.

I'm now 38 years young. Please imagine me saying that with one hand on my hip as I prepare to do aqua aerobics.

I spent the last week or so doing preparation for my DnD campaign. Being a GM is so much fucking work, and doing a virtual campaign is so much fucking work. Calling it now that I don't think I'm doing this again lol. But who can say. I have like 4 more dungeons to make, minimum, plus a bunch of battle maps and tons of NPCs and also I should probably finish writing the campaign. Or like. Start writing the campaign beyond a vague outline for session 01 🙈

I've been thinking about that OnK/Parahumans crossover idea more.

We still know frustratingly little about how Ai's relationship with Hikaru went; we can make some guesses, but nothing concrete. So I thought about the two things that don't depend on Hikaru at all: The timeline and Ai's power.

As mentioned last time, I decided that my ideas for Ai's power centered around Leviathan, who destroyed Kyushu in 1999. I was thinking of having Ai be one of the inaugural Wards, but the Wards definitely existed by 1998, and probably existed by the late 80's/early 90's, so that's...well, I guess I could just ignore some part of the timeline. But I'd rather just make Ai's debut its own big event, wherever she ends up.

OnK's timeline is vague, but if we speedrun through Ai's romance, maybe Ruby and Aqua could be born in 2000 or 2001. Presumably, Ai would get murdered some time in the mid-oughts. More importantly, it means the twins would be tweens when the world ends, so unless I decide to focus on Ai (definitely a possibility), this would be a post-GM fic.

Ai's Trigger Event & Powers

Last time, the power I settled on was "something with power-copying fairy things". And I don't really like that. It's vague, it's complicated, and most importantly, it doesn't have either an "This kid could be the next Eidolon!" vibe or a "This kid could be dangerous!" vibe.

So let's work backwards. What power am I looking for?

I'm thinking, something that takes powers, but can give them back too. Ai takes, say, 8% of your power, and in a week's time she gives you back 10%, keeping 2% for herself. Or some other set of numbers, or some other pattern. She slowly gets stronger over time, she can make other heroes stronger, but she could also just weaken all the heroes around her and run.

As per the Trump document, the kind of Trump trigger that gives power-borrowing powers focuses on the mental/emotional relationship the parahuman has to powers. So while the aftermath of Leviathan's attack is still there, still influences her trigger, it's not the focus.

Let's say that Ayumi (Ai's mom) and/or her unnamed boyfriend worked for the Sentai Elite or some other hero team. Little Ai hence got to see more superheroes than most people, and became familiar with one hero in specific. Let's call her Blue Kōri (following Black Kaze's naming scheme even though we don't know whether she's an ex-Sentai or not, but c'mon, that's a Super Sentai name).

Anyways, Ayumi gets stranded somewhere with her daughter and boyfriend due to Leviathan's floodwaters. She spots Blue Kōri coming by, making a bridge of ice across the waters, and quickly sends Ai into their improvised shelter to get stuff. While she's out of sight, Ayumi and her boyfriend leave with Kōri, without Ai.

Ai feels a sense of betrayal and abandonment, mostly from her mom but also the other two adults, at least one of whom should have known better. As with her canon counterpart, Ai feels certain that the things done to her were done because she's unlovable. So she triggers, grabbing a fragment of Blue Kōri's power without realizing what she's done. (And without Kōri noticing, because she's distracted by a swell or something.)

Post-Trigger

Ai ends up with the power to take a fragment of other parahumans' powers, which manifest in the form of little glowing things that Ai calls fairies. The fragments grow slowly on their own, eventually splitting. (Conflicted about whether they should just grow or whether they should mutate slightly when they split. Does Ai have remarkable power, or remarkable versatility? Doesn't really matter at this point in planning, though.)

Eventually, Ai figures out that she has a little bit of ice power. Once she figures out how to use it, she tries to escape on a teeny ice raft with the supplies Ayumi told her to fetch. Ai eventually washes up in a populated area, and gets noticed by Ichigo or an equivalent. She gets inducted into a hero team (foreign if we want to use recognizable canon characters, local if we don't), and settles into the "ideal superhero" role by a combination of external Concern about an unfettered power-thief and internal fears of being hated or abandoned or unworthy of love.

And I'm not sure how much more I can write without a bit more data on Hikaru.

My husband is playing in a Kingdom Hearts TTRPG every Sunday and has very quickly become attached to the Headmaster at a rebuilt Scala ad Caelum named Master Gaia (the daughter of Terra and Aqua in their campaign). 

He and I have headcannoned that she was a little warrior cats kid back in the day, and even visited that world before, so at his request, since I never did get over my warrior cats phase, I designed Warrior Cat Gaia LOL

Also added bonus art of a Warrior Cat version of his player character playing with Gaia’s tail because the little gremlin kid has accidentally adopted her as his mom XD We may or may not be trying to convince his GM to let the party be warrior cats for a couple sessions LOL

Title: Cuteness Member - Kururin

I really missed playing Kuru Kuru Kururin and Kururin Paradise on my Visual Boy Advance emulator (of GBA), since I was in 15 years old (2008-09). 🐤🚁🧩🎮 Yeah, I'm having a good time playing two Kururin games, but I didn't finished due to difficulty. 😅 But, in my reunion of playing VBA, I've finally done playing and finished for over 6 years. Also, I've draw him, too, on several occasions. 😊📝🖌️

But anyways, this is my considered of REMAKING Kururin from Kuru kuru Kururin series on Nintendo. 🐤🚁 So, he's now a Cuteness Member, with his armored "Zephyranthes" & the "Full Burnern" pack! 😁

Zephyranthes Kururin Came from the: RX-78GP01 Gundam GP01 "Zephyranthes"

Armament(s):

• A.E.Blash XBR-L-83/Du.02 Beam Saber Made by AE Blash, a subsidiary of Anaheim Electronics. A pair were stored on the sides of the backpack. The beam saber produces high-energy Minovsky particles to form a blade-shaped I-field filled with superheated plasma that creates a deadly cutting blade. It is an effective weapon for close-quarters combat.

• BOWA XBR-M-82A-05H beam rifle w/ Mounted "Jutte" This is the standard rifle for the armored Zephyranthes, power rated at 1.5MW, charged by replaceable e-caps. This is the first rifle applying a new technology "e-pacs", which is a replaceable container of mega-particles, able to let CD armor change the e-pac in the battle when running off ammunition of the beam rifle. The beam jitte attached to the Zephyranthes' beam rifle is a specialized beam saber designed to catch enemy beam sabers, allowing to quickly counter when there is no time to draw out his main beam saber. Named after a specialized weapon used by Japanese police in the Edo period, the Jutte was a small beam saber located under the barrel of the beam rifle. This allowed the GP01 to defend itself against enemy melee weapons when holding the beam rifle.

• HFW-GMG-MG79-90mm Machine Gun The bullpup machine gun is a simple shell-firing machine gun that is based on older technologies, making it a weapon that can be cheaply produced and can be used by just about any CD armor.

• RX-VSh-023F/S-04712 Shield As with most other CD armors, the Zephyranthes carries a single physical shield for defense on its left arm. 2 e-pacs could be stored in the shield. It can withstand several direct beam hits. When not used, the top of the shield retracts to reduce inertia.

• BLASH HB-L-07/N-STD Hyper Bazooka Technically a large rocket launcher, it fires 360mm missiles to attack targets at long range. Also used by the armored GM Type C.

• Missile Launcher A hand-carried weapon originally used by the armored RAG-79 Aqua GM for amphibious combat, it contained a set of missile launchers and two large torpedoes.

Special Feature(s):

• Chobham Armor The Chobham armor was a series of add-on heavy armor plates attached to the body of the GP01. Though it enhanced the GP01's defensive capabilities, it weighs down the suit tremendously.

• Aqua Equipment The GP01 could be equipped with the Aqua equipment for combat underwater. With this equipment, the GP01 is outfitted with the shoulder and calf hydrojet units from the armored RAG-79 Aqua GM along with a new hydrojet-equipped backpack. The shoulder units each contain four torpedo pods, and the CD armor also uses the same handheld missile launcher as the Aqua GM.

Writeblr Re-Intro

Hi folks, it's been a while. Life has been pretty hard the last few months, but I'm ready to come back to the community and get back to posting. I apologise for the readmore here, but this is quite lengthy. I'm up for tag games and asks of all types, though I may take a bit of time to respond at times. Please DM me if you want to be added to any of my taglists.

I'm Aquadestiny, or Aqua for short, I write almost exclusively fantasy based on an old D&D campaign that took place in the world of Fighting Fantasy. Said campaign has been given the title 'Destiny's New Servants' and was the second D&D campaign I ever took part in as a player, then halfway through it became my first experience as a GM. The campaign was played using 3rd edition D&D as the ruleset, so much of the way I write has been partially informed by the mechanics of that system. I have been given the blessing of several of the other players of that campaign to use their characters in my writing and the full blessing of @druidx to use her characters and referencing some of her writing in my work as we both write for the same setting. Full credit will always be given if this is the case in any given piece of writing I do.

My work goes through the whole spectrum of experiences from cute and fluffy to heart-rending angst and pretty much everything in between. A good amount of the things I write are either: Dramatisations of campaign sessions, or pre/post-campaign stories that help to further character development and/or the worldbuilding.

Although all of the work I post here is interlinked in some fashion (my masterpost contains links to everything) my WIPs can be split into 5 main camps:

The Wizard's Tale: The story of the Destiny's New Servants campaign as seen through the eyes of my very first roleplay character, Selene Frigidwake, who became an important NPC. Expect a whole lot of angst and unresolved trauma stemming from my first campaign as a player with this one.

The Trouble with Meredith: The backstory of my second roleplay character ever, Meredith Gruksdottir. This story is a little more light-hearted and tells the story of how Meredith even ended up becoming a Player Character in the Destiny's New Servants campaign. There's still some drama and angst, but it's not quite as prevalent.

Destiny's New Servants- Fangthane's Folly Edition: Contains dramatisations of the Destiny's New Servants campaign story from Meredith's perspective, as well as other stories detailing the goings on back in Fangthane during the campaign that happened 'offscreen'. This one runs the whole gamut, but there's a lot of angst and drama seeing as this is based on a D&D campaign where the original GM was a huge fan of both.

Titan Fighting Fantasy Modern AU: This is currently a working title. This is basically what it says on the tin. This is an alternate universe story set in a modern version of Titan, taking place around the 90s.

The Ouroboros of Destiny: This is a collection of stories based around the current campaign I'm running in the setting. The series mostly follows Meredith's youngest son, Llachlan, and covers mainly the backstory of this current campaign and some of the goings on behind the scenes of events occurring during it. This has angst galore, so buckle up.
