[Purikura Notes Scenario] Ri does draw on a lot of queer experiences, religious upbringing in a religious asian family household, in his backstory tbh as well as the diaspora and mixed experience tbh. Never quite fitting him, hopeful for the future before crushed and taken advantage of until he broke, familial+societal expectations and the failure of society to care for its most vulnerable, and of course; he has what society says is a success story, but is it what he wants?

He just took an extreme response to it all in the end and encompasses the idea of “the shining star that burns brightly and swiftly until drowned by the sea.”

If you wanted to push it, his backstory is allegorical for the experience (just not what came afterwards during the main fic).
