Today was one of the coolest days of my life. I am thankful to have a friend who was willing to go on this adventure and experience this with me. I wanted a day for me and barely looked at my phone all day so as to enjoy the experience. To be so close to these masters felt surreal. The Monet exhibit was...exquisite. I got to take my own picture of a Water Lily painting and then enjoy a wonderful audio as we walked around and saw all the gorgeous pieces as they were being explained and described to me. I only took the few photos because I was truly enraptured at the experience. I did accidentally photo the Van Gogh because I was too excited to notice the sign but I’ll let you guys just look that one up on your own. The day had some mishaps but overall was so wonderful to check something off my bucket list. being the artsy-fartsy people that we are, we could not let this one, that happened to be on our way to Khaosan Road, went unvisited…the visit totally had nothing to do with the air-conditioning and awesome toilet… (which in case, if you need to use… was really clean and comfy)

the abstract arts displayed was so unintelligibly beautiful and harmoniously colorful…some even managed to invoke sorrowful feelings in me…(told ya I am an appreciator of art)

I regretted not taking picture of the paintings… (not sure if it was permissible, too shy to ask the scary looking guard)

Bismillah. I was feeling so down this morning emotionally and physically that as soon as I got to work all I wanted to do was crawl back into bed. I had barely unpacked my supplies in the art studio when one of my 2nd grade students came running into the room with his iPad to show me pictures that he had taken of art and sculptures from a recent trip to New Jersey over winter break. His mother had mentioned to me that all throughout the weekend her son kept taking pictures of art to show me because he knew that I would appreciate it. This morning when he came running into my room, I just pictured him shooting out of his mother's car from the parking lot and coming straight to my room without skipping a beat, mashaAllah ;) He was so excited, telling me all kinds of stories as he showed me the art and sculptures at this hotel . . . It instantly lifted my mood and I felt so grateful that every day I get the opportunity to share my love for appreciating beauty and art with my students. Alhamdulillah for all these blessings.
