TAROT READING SETUP

So, something I haven't really talked about is how I set up for my readings. I do a lot of this stuff daily so that I can always be ready to do a reading on the fly, but I have a few things I do specifically if I have time to set up for a client

I use a salve I made for spirit communication and divination to anoint my third eye and crown, as well as special oil #20, and as I do this I pray for discernment, and to recieve clear messages

I wear a crows claw necklace that has been consecrated for spirit communication, which must be fed monthly (typically with incense)

On a monthly basis I consecrate my cards with the same salve and oils as well as light an incense made with herbs either for power or for divination to feed the deck(s) with

When setting up for a more serious reading for myself, or for client readings I have a glass of water out for the spirits, crystals to amplify energy (quarts, herkimer diamond, apopholite, amethyst, peacock ore), I will sometimes light an incense for the spirits if I'm called to (or a cigarette, as tobacco is sacred to the dead), I will also have a key either in my pocket or on the table (to unlock hidden knowledge)

If I'm having trouble with a reading I will either pull out a chicken foot and cleanse myself, or I'll take some salt and throw it on the table to quickly drive away whatever might be hindering the reading. Typically in that situation it's just negative energy that's built up in the client's life from general stress, but on some occasions it is spirit interference. In those situations I might offer a quick cleansing in order to speed up the reading (chicken foot) or if the reading is online I'll light another incense and candle for protection for the space I am in, and re-shuffle the deck for the client

If I'm at an event I do a little more to set up initially including the use of protection powders around my area along with money charms for obvious reasons, but I don't do those very often
