saw a tiktok comment on an aouad edit which said something about a person loving gwi nam and how su hyeok 'was also a bully' so why should people like him but not gwi nam if they were both associated with each other at some point and it made me cross

for one, although i haven't read the comic, the wiki page has divulged HORRIFIC things that gwi nam did, WAY worse than what was portrayed in the kdrama series, so i don't get his fans at all. like even in the show he's most definitely evil especially when you see what he does to the people he bullies and what his attitude to cheongsan is. his whole schtick when he becomes a halfbie is that he was able to do that out of pure HATE and the desire for revenge against cheongsan like cmon people.

also, he's not only evil to the people he 'knows' like his bully victims or su hyeok or cheongsan, but he's indiscriminately atrocious to everyone. eg, the dinner lady who tried to help him when the outbreak first started, jung min jae (the male archer dude), nayeon (she definitely made me really mad but her death wasn't deserved plus it was preventable sigh). all in all, i don't get gwi nam fans unless they only like him for his looks so then i can pretend they're just liking the actor and not the character.

also the second point in the comment was about su hyeok and how he was a bully so it's hypocrisy to like him and not gwi nam but.........the argument debunking that statement was IN the comment

su hyeok was a bully. not is. that's the key difference between the two

su hyeok turned his life around by being better and changing his ways and this was portrayed in literally the whole show as when he protected the group and nam ra SO many times.

the difference between gwi nam and su hyeok is the fact that one started his path off evil and ended with it, and one started his path off wrong and corrected himself.

The limits in this case was always and would always be Minho. The person who rose up more hatred in you than unhappy endings, than wet socks, than fucking mint chocolate ice cream. But what happens when the hatred turns into an unlikely word you didn't even dream about associating with him after a certain American bubbly student makes an appearance and is already pushing more buttons than Minho did and oh? Is that Minho...actually caring?

And I enjoyed the show

Then it was announced that Yoon Chan Young would be starring in a new show adapted from a BL webtoon

And I was ecstatic!

But now…they’re erasing the BL from the show? The show that’s based off of a BL?? The show that is based on a story about a kid trying to take his life because he was bullied for being gay??? That’s like giving me keys to a new car and taking all the parts out.
