Honey extra - The Sex Playlist + a little scene
Elide Lochan x Lorcan Salvaterre roommates au
A/N: I posted part five on the same day acosf was released, so if you didn’t see it, go read it, cause it’s.. long and it took me years to finish and I saw it didn’t get the same attention the previous parts did, and yeah
fic masterlist
this takes place somewhere between part five and six
Elide was one of the few lucky girls whose period was never too bothersome. The pain was always very bearable and only lasted a few hours, and most of the time, it wasn't even a real pain, just a slight pressure in the lower abdomen. She could go about her day without having to stop every few minutes because of a cramp - unlike Aelin, who died every month as if someone was stabbing her in the guts.
She also didn't have a heavy flow, which she would always thank the gods for, if they existed. She couldn't understand how her friends could put up with such misfortune.
Not that they could do otherwise, of course, but she was always in awe when they told her about their period-catastrophes. She knew that if it were her turn to suffer like that every time, she would rip her uterus out of her belly.
And at that moment, lying in a fetal position on Lorcan's bed, she wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to keep from doing it herself before the cramping stopped. Because for some strange reason, her body had decided to turn against her this month.
The last two weeks had gone by in the blink of an eye, she and Lorcan had fucked on every surface in the house and between work and classes and studying, Elide had gotten very little sleep. Considering also that every time she lay down, her boyfriend would slip in behind her and she couldn't say no to herself, to that pleasure so exhaustive and ecstatic, it made her forget that her body needed rest.
It had taken Lorcan to remind her that they couldn't go on like this.
So when she'd found a bloodstain in her underwear the previous night, just before going to bed after her shift at the diner, she hadn't worried so much and had thought that they'd finally take a few days off and maybe her body would calm down.
Elide wasn't a fan of period sex and the few times she'd done it she'd been so grossed out that she'd risked barfing in the middle of it. It simply wasn't for her.
What she hadn't expected though, had been cramps so strong they had pulled her from sleep in the middle of the night. Elide had gotten up and gone to the bathroom because she'd started moving around too much and didn't want to wake up the boy sleeping blissfully next to her. She had started pacing the living room, trying to figure out what the fuck she was in such pain for.
When it felt like someone had stuck both hands in her uterus and was digging their nails into her ovaries, Elide had knelt on the floor by the couch, leaning forward with her fists pressed against her stomach.
Lorcan had found her in that position around half past four.
To say he'd been scared out of his wits would be an understatement.
He'd thrown himself to the floor beside her almost immediately, all traces of weariness gone the second he'd heard her whimper in pain and seen that Elide was biting her lower lip so hard it was drawing blood.
When they had established that it was just her cycle, Lorcan had taken her back to his bed and now they were both lying between the soft blankets she had given him.
They had both been puzzled by this new symptom. After all, Lorcan had never seen her suffer from her period in all the years they had lived together and neither of them had expected it to be any different this time.
Elide had had to joke that it was the fault of his huge cock that had literally stabbed her in the uterus, and Lorcan had apologised in earnest, looking at her with wide eyes and pulling away a little, as if he really felt guilty. She had burst out laughing and then pulled him to her again, taking one of his arms and putting it around her body so that his big hand covered her belly.
He'd started moving his fingers over her lower abdomen, applying pressure from time to time when she seemed to tense up due to a cramp. It helped, somehow, to have him there to massage her. To hold her to his chest as they cuddled.
Now, Elide kept her eyes closed, his head resting on top of hers as they both dozed. Or at least she thought so, because Lorcan spoke, his rough, low voice too close to her ear, "How do you feel?"
She sighed, pulling her knees up slightly. His legs immediately followed her, as if they couldn't bear to be away from her body. She smiled, "A little better." then yawned, "I guess it's the fact that I was already tired as it is, what with university and all."
Lorcan hummed behing her, "I see," then he moved, pulling away only briefly, "maybe we should take it slower, with everything I mean."
Elide nodded slowly. She turned her head towards him, still with her eyes closed, but pursed her lips forward, silently inviting him to kiss her. He chuckled, but a second later their mouths clashed in a simple peck on the lips.
The music playing from the speakers suddenly changed from the sweet melody of a love song to something quite different.
"Cause I eat up for a while, let me through. The shake, the screaming aloud, I'ma fool. In my face you shake, leaking everywhere."
Elide's eyes went wide, "Lorcan!" she let go a surprised chuckle, "What is this?" she turned to him fully and could finally see the satisfied smirk on his face.
"It's a playlist I made yesterday," he then lowered his voice an octave, looking at her lips, "For when we can take the time to think about music instead of jumping right into it," he murmured.
Elide swallowed, nodding slowly, continuing to listen to the song.
Definitely very different from what he normally provided her with.
"I like it," she continued, then draped her arms underneath his, resting her head against his chest as he pulled her close to him and lay on his back, making her lie completely on top of him, "our sex playlist." she smiled, playing with the ends of his hair.
Lorcan hummed again and Elide felt it throughout her whole body when he said, "I called it 'elide'."
She had to force herself to calm the hot spirits that that new information had triggered in her body, but she was glad to know that he wouldn't be able to use that playlist with other people, considering it bore her name.
"I like it even more now," she confessed under her breath.
His arms tightened around her back and then his hands began to rub her lower back, where he knew she was feeling the most pain. Elide fell silent, enjoying his warm hands on her skin, and only had time to thank him before sleep beckoned her again.

A/N: bold lines are from the book Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix
Severus Snape emerged from the shadows to stand in front of his ally.
“I was starting to think you wouldn’t come, Severus.” The voice of Albus Dumbledore was, as expected, steady and confident. “Do you have it?”
Snape approached him, eying the room with suspicion. It was the first time he had stepped inside Dumbledore’s hiding place, but despite he trusted the man, a chill ran down his spine. Keeping a stoic expression, he reached inside his robes and handed him a rolled piece of parchment.
“She had it with her. As you said.”
Dumbledore unrolled the document and nodded slowly. Another name wrote itself with the others.
“It is vital that Cornelius sees Voldemort first. After that, I will personally make sure that this information reaches the aurors.” The bearded man walked to the end of the room; the dim light of a candle outlined Fawkes’ silhouette.
“My name appears on that list.” Snape watched Dumbledore’s hand halt in the air. He turned around and with challenging eyes, he stared at him as he unrolled the parchment again. Turning his gaze back to the paper, Dumbledore pursed his lips together as if he was going to whistle and with a light blow, the name ‘Severus Snape’ left the paper in the form of black ashes.
He looked up at the potions teacher from up his glasses. Snape nodded.
“What happened to Yankelevich?”
“She will be brought to Nurmergard” The phoenix moved so his master could slide the parchment under him. “Attempted murder, at least.”
“I don’t understand why you sent Williams. Yankelevich wasn’t an immediate threat and Alastor could have done it faster and more efficiently.”
Dumbledore turned and put his hands behind his back. “You underestimate her. She’s learnt fast, and listened to your instructions, didn’t she? You were busy training Harry to notice, of course, but her occlumency skills have improved enormously, and she’s been practising how to communicate with Mr Weasley.”
“You said she would, yes…”
“Well, she refused using her patronus to communicate, and she needed to be away from him to practise.” He opened his mouth to say something else, but he reconsider it. At Snape’s piercing stare, he kept going, “Astrid knew someone was up to no good and needed a favour, however,” he pointed at Fawkes’ nest “that was my goal.”
He walked to the nearest chair and sat down, grabbing a goblet from the table. Before sipping, he caught how Snape’s jaw tensed. “Besides, Alastor’s never run freely around a castle, breaking rules and finding places he is not supposed to enter. She has.”
“How did she know how to find it?”
“I said her skills had improved, not that they were better than mine. I might have… given her a small guidance.” He raised his hand up to his temple’s level and brushed his index and thumb together. “ I was certain that Karkarov knew about the existence of the room. It was the most logical place to hide it.”
“Where is he now?” demanded Snape.
Dumbledore looked at his partner with amused eyes, but corrected his demeanour quickly. “I have no idea. I mistakenly believed he would be in the forest. I sent a letter to Katherine in hopes she would meet him there. Turns out, he is smarter than I thought.”
“It won’t be long until He finds out Karkarov’s writing that.” Snape pointed at Fawkes’s nest, and the bird chirped unhappily.
“I know.” He tsked and took a sip from his beverage, “But it was his choice.”
“What are you going to do until then?”
“We’ll wait. That spell is not easy to perform. We’ll let him write as much as he can.” They fell silent for a long while, lost in their thoughts, until Dumbledore spoke again.
“When?”
“Tomorrow. He wants the prophecy.”
“Of course. Of course…” he stood up and crossed his hands in front of him and searched in his companion’s black eyes. Snape reached inside his sleeve and took out a small vial with a silver liquid in it. He handed it to Dumbledore, who read the tag ‘K. Williams. Durmstrang’.
“She will not remember the names.”
With one last nod, Albus Dumbledore observed how his confidant dissolved in the air.
--
Katherine Williams awoke for the second time in the same Grimmauld Place’s cold room. She let the sun rays hit her eyelids and savoured the memory of Charlie’s firm body against her own.
When she reached behind her, only cold sheets wished her a good morning.
Promise me something. Promise me you’ll wake me up to say goodbye.
She stared at the pillow next to her and sighed. To be fair, he didn’t make such a promise. He didn’t say anything at all.
Putting her disappointment aside, she prepared herself for one of the most exhausting whirlwinds one could face: the loving care of Molly Weasley.
Sitting up with her back against the headboard, she stretched her neck to the side and had to do a double take at the nightstand.
A pink flower with orange undertones sat beside a piece of paper that was folded in half. Her stomach flipped, and she considered forgiving him for leaving.
A snapdragon for the strongest of flowers.
I hope this wasn’t a one-time thing. Owl me.
“Oh, shut up!” Kate whispered, but a chuckle escaped her mouth, anyway.
Movement on the other side of the door startled her, and she hid the note under the pillow before quickly hiding herself behind the covers.
The doorknob turned, and Mrs Weasley entered the room.
“Oh, thank Godric you are alright!” Molly was by her side in four long strides and cradled Kate’s head in her hands. “How are you feeling? Charles told me you woke up last night. You look pale. Did you rest?”
“Yes, Mrs Weasley, I’m fine. My head is spinning a little, though.”
“Of course, of course, let me see that arm.”
Internally complaining, Kate let her put the cream on her arm and tend the bruises of her neck. She didn’t have the courage to tell her that wouldn’t make the scar disappear. When she finished, Molly nodded with a satisfied smile and proceeded to pick up the clothes that were scattered on the floor. Kate held her breath during the entire the process.
“This boy... tsk... taught him better than this! At least he could have brought his clothes with him…” Kate wasn’t sure if she was oblivious or if she was giving them a green card because they weren’t at The Burrow. In any case, she felt the need to take Charlie off the hook.
“I’m sorry, that’s my fault, Charlie let me use his clothes after I showered and when I went to sleep... they were bothering me.” That wasn’t exactly a lie. She gestured her neck to point at her bruises and then remembered that maybe there were ones more recent, that she did not want to explain. Charlie had never left a mark on her, but that night he felt a tad possessive and she wasn’t sure he could be trusted.
Although Molly hadn’t commented on them while she was applying the cream, the younger witch rested her hand there, trying to appear casual. Just in case.
“Ah, don’t worry, dear.” Molly waved her free hand nonchalantly and went to pick her cloak from the floor. While putting on the robe that Charlie had left at the end of the bed, Kate remembered that she technically stole the uniform band.
“Oh, this is warm! What a nice coat!” She waved the magically warmed piece of clothing, admiring it, and something the size of a matchbox flew across the room in doing so. “Oh! I’m so sorry, I always check the pockets and now look at this!” She murmured something under her breath and went to pick up the mysterious object, but Kate interrupted her.
“I’ll get it, don’t worry.”
“Very well, then. I made you some breakfast, but it’s already cold, Charlie made me swear I would let you sleep in!” She laughed and when she was crossing the threshold, she added, “Arthur got your trunk, it’s downs… ah!”
Mr Weasley appeared from behind her with a smile on his face and his hands on her waist.
“Oh, not you too, Arthur, I have enough with your sons apparating everywhere…”
His husband ignored her with a laugh and entered the room, her trunk following him in the air.
“Special delivery!” He roared.
“Thank you so much, Mr Weasley.” He approached Kate, and after hugging her shoulders with an arm, he kissed the top of her head. “You scared us the other day, eh?” He squeezed her. “But, let’s thank Godric you are safe and sound! I must go to work now, if you’ll excuse me…”
“I’m fine, really. We healers recover quickly. Tonks filled me in, and I’m feeling alright.”
“Alright, then. I’ll let you change.” Molly placed a hand on her own cheek for a moment and left the room without another word.
The moment Mrs Weasley closed the door behind her, Kate spooned around and crawled down the wooden desk to retrieve the small object.
Placing it on her palm, she murmured ‘engorgio’, making the tiny leather journal grow to its original size.
Letters, maps, notes, names, drawings, and a full research on how to magically cross plant species were contained in that notebook. The past six months were portrayed in those pieces of paper, and their value was incalculable.
Looking up, she faced one of the obscure paintings that belonged to the Black family. Kate stared at a woman standing on a bridge in what appeared to be a forest, and a question formed in her mind. She needed to go to St. Mungo’s.
Convincing Molly that she could go alone to the hospital was harder than the mission she just came from. After a diluted Invigoration Draught and some help from Lupin, she managed to step out of Grimmauld Place.
She didn’t feel ready to apparate, and she doubted she would ever be, so she enjoyed her walk through the streets of the city. With the muggle money that Lupin gave her, she jumped on the first underground station she saw and followed his directions.
She got comfortable on an empty seat and observed the people on the train car. When she saw a couple getting handsy in a corner, a wave of sadness washed over her, and had to look away.
She missed Charlie terribly. The night before was too desperate and rushed, she didn’t have time to savour the moment. She didn’t even ask him about his mission with the giants, about his dragons, or about how he felt all that time alone at home. Being on a mission kept her head occupied for most of the time, but now, with nothing to do, she anticipated some time of loneliness.
She brought her hand to her chest, and her heart ached even more when she couldn’t find the necklace that Charlie had gifted her many years before. No. Stop it. You’ll get answers and study your notes and then... and then you will have to explain to Dumbledore you lost an important document that could have saved lives. Brilliant.
Soft clapping noises brought her back to reality. A woman in front of her was struggling to hold an excited baby on her lap. Kate observed the child and smiled when his little finger touched her mother’s nose. The baby turned his head and stared at Kate for a while before raising his arm to wave at her. She chuckled and returned the greeting, her trip improving slightly and temporarily.
Walking through St Mungo’s doors had a mixed effect of nostalgia and excitement. She had spent many hours in that hospital studying, training, and learning, and all of a sudden, she was fresh out of Hogwarts again, with all the emotions that implied. Taking a deep breath, she walked through the corridor and started searching for her first mentor and boss, Madame Louise.
She scanned the faces of the healers that were working, rapidly treating the patients like frantic ants recollecting their food.
“Williams?” Kate turned at the deep voice calling her and recognised the robust middle-aged woman in front of her. “What brings you here? I thought you were working in Romania?”
“Hello, Madame Louise, yes, well I was… working there. But I’m here as a patient today.”
Madame Louise frowned and looked at Kate up and down before giving a curt nod.
“Wait on that bed.” She said before turning and walking away.
Kate sat as directed and stared at the beautiful glass stained windows of the place.
“I request you let me go right now! This is nonsense.” She could recognise that firm voice anywhere. To her right Professor McGonagall was lying on one of the beds and arguing with a boy that Kate figured he was wishing he hadn’t been born.
She walked towards them and put a hand on the boy’s shoulder. “I’ll take it from here, thank you.”
“Who are you? You are not a healer; Madame Louise will hear about this.”
“Mister, this young woman knows more than you, do us all a favour and go with your mother.” Intervened McGonagall.
“I heard Jared O’Leary was looking for you.” The boy shifted in his place and nodded nervously before leaving them alone.
“Professor, what happened?” Kate’s healer mode activated and started scanning McGonagall for injuries and signals of distress.
“Oh, Williams, a lot is been happening this past year. I can imagine you’ve been informed?”
“Vaguely. I arrived two days ago from…”
“I know.”
Kate grabbed the file at the foot of the bed and read the report on McGonagall’s state.
“Four stunning spells to the chest?” She looked up and asked with her eyes, but her professor wasn’t in a mood for a talk.
“Williams, I must get out of here and go back to Hogwarts. I’m afraid it’s going to be too late by the time they let me go.”
“Professor, you could faint just by… too late for what?”
“Williams!” Madame Louise motioned her to come closer. Kate hesitated, but followed the mediwizard to a quieter space. “What happens to be the problem?”
“I’ve been poisoned two days ago.”
“In that case you should have come earlier, don’t you think?”
“There’s been… complications. I wanted to ask you if it’s possible to poison someone without using a vial or a potion or, I don’t know, food or drinks.”
The woman hummed and crossed her arms in front of her. “That’s rather strange.”
“Is this…” Kate moved the collar of the shirt to the side, revealing the red marks that hadn’t disappeared yet. “… a possible way?”
Louise grabbed the glasses that were hanging by a chain around her neck and placed them on the tip of her nose to inspect the injuries.
“The poison could have been injected with some kind of needle, but the shape of these marks means claws or… nails.”
She took her glasses off and waved them while talking. “I imagine it is possible, but you must have a very twisted mind to carry around poison in your nails. Also, you need to be very careful, a bad placement of the poison can cause yourself to get ill. In what kind of troubles are you getting into, Williams?”
“It’s a story for another day.”
“Madame Louise, I can’t find Jared O’Leary…” The boy that was treating McGonagall appeared from behind Kate.
“What are you talking about? Go back to work! Naturally, you can’t find him. He doesn’t work here anymore!”
“But she…”
“Is every patient cured, Mr Boyle?” Kate slid away from the conversation to where Professor McGonagall was resting.
“I suddenly feel tired…”
Kate nodded and checked that the potions on her nightstand were filled and in order. A hand grabbed her wrist, and she turned to look at McGonagall.
“Katherine. You must find Potter. Something terrible is about to happen.”
Kate frowned and got closer to her former professor’s face.
“The Ministry. Try the Ministry,” she whispered.
Kate didn’t think twice. She ran all she could to the underground station, receiving some odd glances from the surrounding people.
When she arrived at the Ministry stop, she could sense the commotion even from the muggles that were passing by.
“A gas leak.” She heard while climbing up the mechanic stairs. Some people complained at her rudeness, but she couldn’t stop and apologise at the moment.
“There’s the press. Those vultures. It was probably a problem with plumbing. Look! The water reached the first floor!” A man said.
Kate tried to walk among the curious souls that were conglomerated around the building and recognised the protection bubble that was forming around it. She slid under it with ease.
“But I heard an explosion! I’m telling you!” a woman said to a journalist.
She tried to enter the building, but what seemed to be an auror stopped her.
“Let me in! I’m a healer!”
The man remained stoic and grabbed her arm.
“Identification?”
“I… I don’t have it right now but…”
“You can’t go in, Miss” She tried to get rid of him and she almost succeeded, but when the doors to the Ministry opened, she stopped the struggle. Four aurors walked out the building protecting several figures that walked behind them. She tried to reach them, but the security guard grabbed her again.
“You are the cursed girl! Daily Prophet here! Are you involved in the accident? How do you think your father will react to this? How do you think this is connected to your brother?”
“I’m not…” dumbfounded by the flash of a camera, she tried to escape from the journalists.
“Miss Williams! Miss Williams! What can you tell us about the person who died?”
She couldn’t hear anything, see anything, someone pushed her, and she felt another flash of a camera. Her head was spinning.
Cornelius Fudge stepped out of the building and pointed his wand at his neck. He cleared his throat and all the attention was directed at him.
“It is with great regret that I must confirm that the wizard styling himself Lord… well, you know who I mean… is alive and among us again.”

The Irreplaceable Charlie Weasley: Pt. 8, Ch. 9
PART 8: WHERE IT ALL ENDS
Chapter 9 - The Invitation
Charlie
1 year later...
“Easy there, boy!” I held up my hand at the Swedish Short-Snout, my wand ready in the other one. “We talked about this, Thor. One day without breathing fire at me and we'll call it progress.”
I started working with Thor again last month. I have to admit I needed quite some time to even go and see him. He was the one that burnt Nova and even though I knew it wasn't his fault and he was in pain, I made the mistake of blaming him.
—
After more than a year of her being gone, I think it's safe to say I am getting back on my feet. As much as I can, anyway. I am regularly corresponding with all my family as I promised Bill on his last visit. Nobody talks about my feelings or how am I feeling anymore and I am grateful for that. Things are back to normal.
That doesn't mean that I forgot about her. That I don't miss her. That I don't think about her because I do. Every. Single. Day. But it's easier than it was, I have to admit. It's bearable now. And between how busy we are in the Sanctuary, me working for the Order and recruiting new Wizards, and listening to the Wireless about people going missing every day, I think it's safe to say I am doing okay.
I got used to coming home to an empty house. Pip is in a better mood as well and he is keeping me company when he's not out delivering letters. I started talking to my co-workers again and I have to say that it has been one of the best decisions. They make me feel less lonely.
I am also sleeping better. There are still nights when I wake up to Nova screaming or from a nightmare, reliving what happened but it's getting rarer and I am so happy about that.
It might sound harsh but Bill was right when he said that the tragedy that happened here that night made so many Wizards wanting to join. We get new letters and recruits daily.
So many who I've known have died or been murdered that I have to say I am getting used to it, no matter how it sounds. Everything is getting more serious with every new day and we have to be prepared for the worst. I am just happy to hear my family and friends are okay. That's all I can ask for after what happened over a year ago.
I try to think of the whole thing from a positive note. Nova was such a loved person and when I try to get someone to fight for our cause they mostly join because of her. She had so many connections but nothing we did ever worked when we tried getting people on our side while she was alive.
Death does bring people closer together and if they needed a reason to see that this is everyone's fight, I have come to terms with it that the attack needed to happen.
I am not going to deny that I would leave everything behind if it meant she could come back but no matter how I beat myself about it or how guilty I feel, it won't bring her back. I can be as content with what happened as I possibly can be. I promised her I will continue doing what I love and I came so far, even with Thor.
I also promised her to be happy but as much as I am trying, I still feel the burden of her death on my shoulders. I still think it should have been me and I will never be as happy as I was with her no matter how much I laugh at my co-worker’s stupid jokes. It's simply not the same and I know it never will be but I don't mind.
I came to the conclusion that I was lucky to get to experience what I had with her. Not many people do and some search their entire life for it. I had it, even though it was cut short, I can't complain. Before I met her, I knew what I wanted to do with my life and if I can't be with her, I can at least do what I love and that counts for something.
It helps if I try to stay as positive as I can. So many things remind me of her that it's hard to keep my mind off her. But instead of being miserable about it, I try to look on the bright side.
Just yesterday, I was having dinner with Andrei and some of the others and we started debating whether Norbet is a he or a she.
He has been acting strange for years now and Nova was the first to bet that he is actually Norberta. We can't do a gender check-up on him because he is too vicious which only proves that she was right. When Andrei asked what we are going to name him I said that we should call him Norberta as Nova called him the first time she observed that he might be a female.
It used to pain me thinking of things she liked and did and I couldn't even imagine doing something like that a year ago but I am pushing myself to try harder. I promised her I will be happy and I am trying to do my best to make her proud.
—
“There you go!” I beamed as I levitated a steak in front of him and he didn't try to kill me before eating it. Thor has been hurt more than any other Dragon in the Sanctuary when the Death Eaters attacked us and he has been having trust issues ever since. Who could blame him really, I was just glad he was okay. It took the Healers months before they mended all his wounds and his left leg is still not completely healed and perhaps it never will be.
“You're a good boy, Thor!” He breathed smoke out of his nostrils and I knew he was proud of himself even though he probably wanted to eat me for dinner.
“Steaks taste good, Charlie tastes bad.” I laughed at my joke, knowing full well I was talking to a Dragon.
“Charlie, there you are!” I stepped backward, carefully, and turned around to see Andrei panting. “We have been looking all over for you! I thought you were with Arto today.” He tried his best to catch his breath.
“I decided to give Thor another chance at keeping me alive.” I smiled.
“At least you're wearing your protective gear this time.” I looked behind Andrei and saw my brother step cautiously from behind a boulder.
“Bill!” I walked to him and gave him a hug. “What a surprise! What are you doing here? Is everything okay?” I frowned, suddenly remembering that we are at war.
“Everything's fine.” He grinned, showing his white teeth. “I was just in the neighborhood and decided to visit you.”
“In the neighborhood, huh?” I crossed my arms on my chest and lifted my eyebrows in disbelief. He was a bad liar and even worst at making jokes.
“I'll tell you everything when you're done.” He beamed at me. He looked like he couldn't wait to talk to me about something and he looked so happy. Well, he looked like that most of the time since he met this girl Fleur at work.
Bill, Andrei, and I made our way down to the village and we said goodbye to my boss.
“Want to grab something to eat or want me to cook for you?” I winked at him.
“What put you in a good enough mood to cook?” He asked surprised. I rarely did. It's not the same if you have to cook only for one person. The only time I ever really put the effort in was when it was my day off and I made pancakes for myself.
Nova and I ate pancakes for breakfast every time we had a free day. It became our tradition and it was the one thing that I could keep going.
“Thor, the Dragon you just saw, didn't try to eat me today instead of his steak for the first time since we were attacked.” I said proudly.
“Wow, what an achievement.” Bill laughed, trying to understand my situation.
“And he didn't try to burn me alive, another first!” I continued. I knew he couldn't understand how big this was as I never understood what all the treasure he kept describing in his letters was worth.
“I'm glad you're alive, brother.” He tapped my back as we stopped in front of my cottage, me unlocking the door.
“So what delicious meal will I be served today?” He mocked.
“Steak or meat pie?” I scanned my fridge for ingredients.
“Steak!” I laughed at his enthusiasm.
“I was hoping you would say that. It's easier to make.” I grinned.
“How are you, Charlie?” I winced at his question. I was doing okay but I still didn't like it because I never knew what the question was going to lead to. Bill was the only one I talked and wrote about Nova. I was happy when he came to visit me last year when I completely shut myself away from everybody. I might be corresponding with all my family and friends again, but I only share my feelings and thoughts with Bill.
“I'm fine. Pretty busy this time of year.” I took a frying pan out of one of my counters and a pot to cook the vegetables. “We're getting another Welsh Green tomorrow and our Chinese Fireball's eggs are hatching any day now!” I heard Bill chuckle at my excitement. He was the only one I could talk to about this, besides Tonks. They were the ones who didn't look at me like I was mental when I talked about Dragons as if they were baby Crups.
“I wish I could stay.” Bill said while pouring some Firewhiskey in the glass I gave him. “I would love to see baby Dragons hatch.”
“If you're prepared to stay awake day and night and keep your eyes on 3 crimson eggs for 8 hours straight, be my guest.” I laughed and poured myself a glass as well while waiting for the pan to heat up. There was something about Muggle cooking that I found soothing and I burnt fewer things than if I were to use magic.
“On the second thought, just send me a picture, will you.” We both laughed.
“How are you, Bill? How is Fleur?” I teased him. Nothing made me happier than seeing him blush whenever I mentioned her name.
“I'm good. Great actually.” He cleared his throat. “She's the reason I'm here today.” He looked like he was going to explode from excitement any moment now.
“Oh, Bill. You didn't come here for love advice, did you?” I frowned. “Because I am the last person to give you advice on that.”
“No.” He grinned. “But I am here to ask you something.” His smile grew even larger.
“Well spit it out, will you!” I quickly put the steak in the saucepan and sat back next to him. My head leaning on my hands, staring at him. At this point, I reminded myself of Penny who used to stare at us whenever one of us was about to tell the others a secret.
“I asked Fleur to marry me.” He said, shyly.
“I think my heart just skipped a beat!” I said and stood up. “This is the best news I have heard in a while!” I pulled him into a hug. Nova was right, he was going to find someone just right for him.
“At least someone's excited.” He sighed. “Mum's reaction wasn't even close to yours.”
“She'll warm up to her.” I tapped his shoulder in reassurance and then went to check on the steak and turned off the boiling water with vegetables.
“Yeah. She thinks we are rushing it with everything that's going on.” He rolled his eyes.
“Bill, I think you're old enough to make your own decisions.” I turned the steak around.
“Tell that to her.” He laughed. “I know she's the right one for me, Charlie. I have never felt this way about anyone.” I glanced at him and seeing his cheeks match his hair was simply adorable. Nova would've loved teasing him.
“She will see how happy you two are and she'll come around.” I brought the plate with food to him. “And besides...” I put the second one into the pan. “When did mum ever stop you from doing something?” He laughed at my question.
“Whatever do you mean, Charlie?” He looked amused.
“Piercing your ear, letting your hair grow out, becoming a Curse Breaker, wearing nothing but leather...” I looked down at his boots.
“Don't give me that judgemental look, get over the fact that I have Dragonhide boots!” He rolled his eyes playfully at me.
“I don't judge your look.” I lifted my hands in my defense. “But those...” I shook my head, looking at his feet again. If I was close enough he would've punched me in my arm.
“So what did you come here to ask me?” I said when I finally sat down, placing my plate in front of me. I cut my steak, waiting for him to stop chewing so he could speak.
“I want you to be my best man.” He said so quickly that I needed a second to realize what he just asked me. I looked at him and he looked nervous. I hated the fact that he did, I knew exactly what was going through his mind.
“I don't know how you feel about this, giving the fact that you asked me first and then...you know...” He started blabbering. “But I can't imagine anyone else standing by my side on my wedding day and if it wouldn't be too much for...”
“Oh, shut it, Bill.” I stood up and hugged him so tightly that he couldn't continue speaking. “I would be honored.” I tapped him twice on the back and pulled away.
“Are you sure?” He asked, looking a bit less worried.
“Yes. Just because I didn't have a happy ending doesn't mean I am going to be bitter about someone else's. Especially yours!” I pointed my fork at him. “So stop blabbering like a baboon and eat your steak!”
“You sound just like mum.” He laughed and couldn't help but join him.
It was great having him here. I missed my family and now more than ever it wasn't safe for me to go home and visit. I was glad I will be able to see everyone at his wedding and I was nothing but excited for them to get married.
I already met Fleur. I visited Bill a few months after they started dating and when she came into his office, he introduced us. She was so polite and as nice as I remembered her from the first Triwizard Tournament task. I thought they looked fantastic together and seeing Bill happy and looking at her, being so in love, how could I not be excited for them.
I didn't care what mum thought about them getting married so soon. I just wanted him to be happy and in these uncertain times, who wouldn't want to celebrate love. Seeing him exchange vows with Fleur and seeing all my other siblings be happy and in love was my purpose now. I can be the fun uncle in the family, everyone knows I have the best sense of humor anyway.
Sometimes, I surprised myself how okay I was with everything after such a short amount of time. But I have made my peace with what happened to me and knowing I can't do anything about it, I can at least be supportive of others. I know how it feels to be loved unconditionally and I hope all my siblings get to experience that.
Just because I don't have it anymore, doesn't mean I have to be angry about it. I would never try to ruin that for anybody else. It's beautiful and I am grateful I have the memories of it and I am trying as hard as I can to keep them alive. It's all I have and all I will ever need. I have amazing family and friends and my dream job and that's enough for me now.

masterlist
summary: when their two best friends die, it’s up to people to take care of their goddaughter and face the challenges that come with it
# of words: 2305
warnings: little bit of swearing, both characters being dicks to each other, fluff and cuteness
--
late september 2016
over the months, everything went smoothing. ben went back to filming and y/n went back to running her bakery. when christian and lennon came back, they had the post wedding glow but at the same time lennon had the pregnancy glow like every other pregnant woman would. nothing would stop that woman from teaching and decided that at her 8 month mark she finally decided to stop and go on maternity leave until she was ready to go back.
Because of this, y/n and ben have been on high alert and making sure that their godchild and mother and father were okay. it was revealed that lennon was going to have a girl and everyone was so happy for her and christian. her due date was halloween and no one was shocked seeing it was lennon’s favorite holiday. earlier in the day, christian had sent lennon, his mother, and her mother all for a spa day so that him, ben, and y/n would be able to work on the nursery seeing that it wasn’t done besides the crib. the only problem was that arguments started all over again
“no, why can’t you help christian with the changing table and i actually paint. i’m the only one here who is at least creative and can draw and shit, no offense christian.” y/n told ben already rubbing the sides of her forehead knowing that her headache won’t go away
“none taken, and she’s right jonesy, we can’t draw for shit let alone paint without screwing up.” christian said not even looking up from the changing table instructions already tired of the two adults fighting and acting like children
“are you joking? how would you, of all people, know i can’t draw? maybe i’m good at it and it’s a secret talent i have?” ben told at her
“yeah, and i’m a world class gymnast that can do everything perfectly without screwing up!”
“can the both of you just literally shut the fuck up and paint different sides of the room the colors we picked out please?” christian practically yelled the two adults before continuing
“look, i know you both want to be the best godparents there ever is and make sure you make lennon and i happy, and that this baby gets everything handed to her perfect. you’ve already done that just by helping us with everything else and by being our best friends and family, but just for this one time, i need the both of you to do something where it seems like she won’t be the adult and you two are the children. now, she’s going to be back in about 2 hours and i promised her we’ll get at least half the room done and we’ll finish the rest either tomorrow or the day after or whenever. just, do whatever we have planned and that’ll be great. thank you.” christian told them
“fine, maybe i could lay down the tape and you can paint i’m tired of this already. i got somewhere to be soon anyways.” ben said grabbing the tape
“fine, maybe i could lay down the tape and you can paint i’m tired of this already. i got somewhere to be soon anyways.” ben said grabbing the tape
The three continued to work on the room and filming some memories for baby wakes up until christian got a call from his mother telling him that lennon’s water broke in the middle of a facial
“i thought she was supposed to give birth next month?” ben yelled searching frantically over the couples house for the stuff they needed
“she was, the baby just decided to come out early i suppose.” christian told him not being able to find where he put the baby bag for lennon when she gives birth and y/n noticing causing her to react
“chris, why don’t you go to the hospital and we’ll meet up later with some of the stuff you’re going to need afterwards. okay? just take a deep breath, in and out. good, now go be a dad.”
“congratulations you got this we’ll see you as soon as she’s born.” ben told him hugging him
“okay, see you guys soon. I’m going to be a dad!” he yelled as he ran to his car
“i’ll get their stuff ready, you can go wherever you need to go. i’ll call you when lennon gives birth.” she told him as she started to walk to lennon and christian’s room and grabbing one of their bags
“are you sure? i can call and cancel and reschedule? i don’t want you to always be the one doing the work, especially in times like this.” ben said to her
“yeah, i’m fine. your meeting sounded important, like for a new movie or something. just go ben. it’s fine.”
“alright then, um, just text or call me if anything happens. bye.” ben said leaving the room and headed towards his car
y/n next spent the next few hours fixing up some stuff to take for them and fixing them some food to eat that can feed a whole army knowing that they’ll have their hands full for a while
according to christian, lennon still hasn’t given birth but she’s close, so y/n decided to head down there in case.
as soon as she left, ben entered the house again, feeling guilty that he left without helping her with everything and deciding to finish building all the furniture. when he was finished, he sat in the middle of the room thinking about how life can suddenly change for two people as another one came into their lives. he snapped out of his thoughts when his phone started to ring, he answered it without looking at the caller ID and he got his with someone yelling in his ear.
“SHE’S HERE! BABY WAKES IS HERE! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!” y/n yelled before she hung up causing ben to quickly get up and run back down to his car and to the hospital.
When ben arrived at the hospital after stopping at the store to get a few stuff, also known as a giant teddy bear and a couple of balloons, he saw y/n pacing back and forth waiting for christian to come and get them. she saw that he had gotten the exact same teddy bear as her and she wanted to call him out but it was normal for people to do this kind of stuff and plus their goddaughter was just born so they didn’t want to fight at the moment.
“i would yell at you right now and be mad and annoyed that you got the exact same thing as me, but since we are in a very public space i won’t.” she told him
“thanks, have they said anything?” ben asked her as he sat down
“no not yet, christian came out to tell me everything was fine though, they just needed to clean her up and do some tests, and then are allowed visitors.” “okay. i really can’t believe that they’re parents now. it’s really unbelievable, when i was growing up with christian, never would i think that guy would be mature enough to become a father, let alone a lawyer, and now he’s both. jesus it’s crazy.” ben said shaking his leg with excitement
“same here, lennon was basically the wild child in college but she somehow is a schoolteacher. everyone thought i would be the first to get married and have a kid, but wow how have the tables turned.” she said finally sitting down
“so why haven’t you settled down or have kids? if you’re comfortable answering?” ben asked her curious seeing that she seemed like the type to settle down by their age
“um, i guess i just haven’t found the right person yet. i thought my ex would be the one, but the douchebag cheated on me.” y/n told him looking down at her hands
“i’m sorry that happened. i also want to apologize for earlier this year when we tried to go on the date they set up. i really should’ve been more presentable and nicer-” ben started
“and not take a booty call in front of me?” she said cutting him off
“and not take a booty call in front of you.” he finished laughing a bit
“it’s okay, really. i’m actually seeing someone and i think he’s great.” y/n told him
“that’s amazing, i’m really happy for you.”
“what about you? what happened to the brunette from their wedding?” y/n asked curiously
“nothing. she didn’t seem like my type-” ben began before getting cut off by christian telling them they could come in
“hey, you guys can come now.”
ben and y/n followed christian to their room and they couldn’t be more excited. as they entered, they saw lennon in her bed cradling their daughter and the two godparents couldn’t have smiled bigger at the sight.
“hi guys, we want you to meet charlotte lucia wakes, charlie for short” lennon told the two before continuing
“do you want to hold her?” she asked
“uh, yeah. she’s so small.” y/n said taking the baby from her best friend as christian pushed a chair for her to sit in, cradling her head
ben walked over to where y/n was and looked over her shoulder. she lightly ran her finger over the baby’s face before she stopped at her hand and charlie tightly wrapping y/n’s finger in her tiny hand.
“hi baby, i’m your auntie y/n, i’m going to make sure you have some fun in your life and not be trapped with your parents all the time.” she said in a whisper
ben looked at her holding the baby and wondered what it would be like to be a dad. he was snapped out of his daydream when y/n asked him if he wanted to hold her
“ben, hello, earth to ben?”
“yeah? sorry what did you say?” ben asked snapping out of his thoughts
“i asked if you wanted to hold her. you okay?” she asked him
“yeah i’m fine, just thinking.” he told her as she gave charlie to him making sure he was holding her head
the next few hours consisted of the four adults talking about the process up until lennon had to feed charlie and ben and y/n decided it was a good time for them to leave seeing that it was already late and visiting hours were almost over.
the pair said their goodbyes to the new parents and headed on their way out. when they got to the entrance, y/n pulled out her phone to order an uber since she didn’t take her car when it happened. ben noticed and decided to offer her a ride home seeing that it was nighttime and no one knew if the driver ended up being a creep or not.
“hey, do you want me to give you a ride?” ben asked her putting his hands in his pockets
“you really don’t have to, i just ordered an uber. thanks for offering though.”
“it’s really no problem, you still live in the same place right?” ben asked still unsure if she had move in the past several months
“i still live in the same place, yeah. are you sure though? i really don’t want to bother you.” she told him
“you're not bothering me at all and it’s really nothing. just please let me do this one nice thing for once. i sort of don’t want something to happen to you because you never know what’s going to happen.”
“ben jones, are you going soft on me? fine. i’ll let you drive me home.” she asked him while crossing her arms before opening the uber app once again, canceling her ride.
“no, i’m not. i’m just trying to be a nice person, don’t think charlie wants to grow up without an aunt and only have an uncle.” ben told her trying to avoid eye contact
“yeah that’s why.”
“okay enough let’s go.”
y/n laughed as she followed ben to where his car was. when they entered the car it felt a little awkward. why was ben all of a sudden being nice to her?
The drive to her apartment was too quiet to both of their tastes. neither one of them knew how to strike up a conversation, not even how their day was before lennon gave birth but they knew that already, or what they’ve been up to. they kept quiet until she broke the silence,
“so, how was your meeting today?”
“it was fine, just some acting stuff that’s all” ben answered before continuing
“how’s the bakery going?”
“it’s going good, thinking about renovating it a bit, you know changing the place up, trying new recipes”
“That sounds nice. hope you get to do it.” ben told her stopping at the light
“yeah, it does but it’s also expensive so it’s on a hold until i can figure out something.” y/n told him as she looked at the window
“you know i can always help, just have to ask. it’s no big deal.” ben said as he pulled up to her apartment complex seeing the familiar gates
“no. i can’t take advantage of you, ben. it’s your money and you do what you want with it. i know you’re trying to help but i really don’t need to be seen as a charity case. please don’t try to argue with me.” she told him in a pleading tone
“fine. i won’t help you then. goodnight y/n.”
“i’m sorry. goodnight ben.” y/n told him, her voice barely in a whisper closing the door
as ben drove off, the two can’t help but feel a sense of guilt in the way they both acted to each other a few minutes ago. ben, because of the way he started to act after she rejected his offer, and y/n for the way she rejected his offer.

#6 Kristy’s Big Day: Chapter 5
It’s Emergency Meeting time!
The next day is an OMGEMERGENCYMEETING of the BSC. And going by how the next chapter takes place on the following day (a Sunday), that means Kristy got the news about all the kids on Friday afternoon. So...did she keep it all a surprise during the Friday BSC meeting, and call an emergency meeting for the hell of it? Claudia's bummed there's a meeting on the first day of summer vacation (of course she would be) and everyone's curious as to what Kristy's going to spring on them.
Kristy mentions the wedding guest list is going to be huge, both families are inviting a ton of guests and Kristy and her siblings are allowed to invite friends. So guess who's on Kristy's guest list! The BSC and all their families! Hey Charlie...that means Janine's coming. Maybe you two can sneak off for a quickie before they cut the cake. And here again I must interject...if Elizabeth is freaking out that she has two weeks to plan a wedding, why is she inviting so many people? The BSC always makes everything so damn difficult.
Kristy tells them 14 kids will be arriving in Stoneybrook by Monday and the parents need someone to watch them. Her great idea of the BSC sacrificing a week of summer vacation to babysit all day is met with shock and awe. And then Kristy gives them the kicker...they'll be making $120 each for the week!
*stunned silence from the BSC*
Kristy waits for someone to fall off the bed (oh nice. Stacey and Claudia? Didn't know you felt that way about them) or react like Oprah's audience when she tells them she's doing her Favorite Things episode. She says that's $600 altogether and surprisingly didn't ask Stacey the Math Genius to add that up for her.
Claudia finally finds her voice and equates the money to her one personality trait, having the IQ of a teddy bear her passion for junk food. She can buy 120 bags of peppermints with that! That's a year's supply! Everyone laughs and throws out suggestions for Claudia: 300 packages of Twinkies! 1,200 jawbreakers! 400 packs of gum! My question is...where does candy come this cheap and please point me in its direction. Oh, and Mary Anne says 60 cartons of ice cream, and Claudia says that's the one thing she can't hide in her room. Please, you know she would try sticking it on her windowsill with the window open, thinking the breeze blowing by would be enough to keep it frozen.
Mary Anne's still hesitant, despite Kristy assuring her if they split the kids up, they're only going to be responsible for 2 or 3 each. “But fourteen at once!” Did she say you're going to be the only one taking care of all of them? Shut up, Mary Anne. A reminder from Claudia about how they're going to be making bank quiets her down. Kristy does a final vote on it and thankfully, doesn't call for a motion to be made and seconded...she hasn't gone into full dictator mode yet. Everyone says yes right away, except Mary Anne, who hesitates, then says yes, like the good pushover that she is.
A quick check of the record book shows Kristy has a sitting job for the Newtons (go figure), Mary Anne's got one with the Prezziosos (we're spared the “EW EW EW EW!!!!!!”s from the others) and Stacey's watching Charlotte. Mary Anne's off the hook because her job's an evening one but Kristy says they're going to have to call up and cancel the other two. Oh hell no. Mrs. Newton will not stand for this! We're talking about the woman who can't go to the mailbox without calling the BSC.
But wait! Before they call the clients up, Kristy has another Idea and says the kids can come over to her place. Mrs. Newton, overjoyed that she can still go to the grocery store in peace, is totally cool with it because she wants Jamie to get used to being around other kids, since he's starting preschool in the fall. And will be stuck there for the rest of the BSC series!
And what a coincidence - Dr. Johanssen was just about to call up and cancel because her schedule got changed. Whew. Does anyone else have anything to cancel? Unimportant things like dentist appointments or art classes that members are paying for and should always cancel because BABYSITTING ALWAYS COMES FIRST?!? No? Good.
Mary Anne takes notes as Kristy gives them the rundown on all the kids. There's the Millers - Ashley (9), Berk (6), Grace (5), and Peter (3). Mary Anne asks if Berk's a boy or girl. So I'm not the only one confused by that name. Is it short for something like Berkeley? Then there's the Meiners - Luke (10), Emma (8), and Beth (1). 10 may sound old, but remember the Pike Triplet Corollary: Age of 10 = Age of 6, Unless You're Mallory Pike.
Kristy calls the mansion to check about the Fieldings and Karen answers and excitedly talks about the new Mary Janes she got to wear in the wedding. Before Kristy can say anything, Karen launches into the other big news: Ben Brewer knocked over a vase! Kristy stays quiet and listens to Karen yammer away about goddamn Ben Brewer for awhile instead of saying, “Ok, I've heard this story a million times. Put your fucking father on!” Kristy finally gets Watson the Millionaire on the phone and gets the ages of his friend's kids - Katherine (5), Patrick (3), Maura (2), and Tony (8 months).
Anyway, they add Karen, Andrew and David Michael into the group, sort them by age, then divide them into five smaller groups. The group with the babies only has two, since they figure whoever gets the babies will have their hands full with diapers and everything. Mary Anne says she wants the baby group. Stacey shoots her hand up to claim the group with the oldest kids - uh Stacey, just because they're the oldest doesn't mean you don't have to watch them. Claudia gets the toddlers and Kristy gives herself Andrew's group, since he's more comfortable around her. And Dawn's the unlucky one who gets Karen's group.
Then Mary Anne gets a Great Idea (beat you to the punch, Kristy!) and we're spared the “Wow, I wish I thought of that!” line from Kristy that she usually has. She suggests they make nametags for the kids and color code them to keep everything organized. So now here's the groups:
Stacey - Red stars. How appropriate, that's Macy's logo! Dawn - Bluebirds. Cage-free bluebirds, who fly through undisturbed, pollution-free forests. Kristy - Yellow suns. What, no iron-colored fist shapes? Claudia - Green dinosaurs. She thinks they're green giraffes. Mary Anne - Pink hearts. Should have been blue teardrops but that color was taken.
They take a break, and Claudia pulls some more junk food out of different hiding places. Since Princess Dawn won't eat Ring Dings or Life Savers, Claudia goes downstairs to get some fruit and crackers for her and Stacey. She returns with Mimi, who has a tray of sodas for the girls. They tell her what they're doing, and she offers to help out if things get too crazy. Because she's Mimi and she's awesome. After she leaves, the girls plan some activities to do with the kids on Monday. Setting the stage for every single BSC play group/day camp/kiddie activity to follow.

Blood Petals.
Hi, Everyone! This was so much fun to write!!
I’m not going to update for a few days because I have to do a paper for college. As soon as I finish it I can write again.
I hope you enjoy this chapter!! 😊💕
Ps. I’ve checked but I’m sorry if you find any grammar or vocabulary errors.
Chapter 8: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
August brought good news to Grimmauld Place: Sirius name was cleared. He still needed to do a trial in a few months but he was granted a permit to get out of the house. It turned out that Mr. Potter was almost done with the test so he could be taken into account to vouch for Sirius.
It seemed as if everything was falling into place. The weird thing was that outside, things were getting pretty ugly. He couldn’t help but to be worried about his mother at Malfoy Manor.
“I just need you to tell her that I’m safe. And watch over her. Please, Severus...” His godfather refused to send information to her, which he didn’t like but after a few fights he understood. He tried to keep Draco informed about how she was doing every week (when the meetings took place).
Severus was still mad with him. The blond boy considered telling him, but he didn’t want to be pitied anymore. And there’s the fact that Severus would know who it is... Because back in fourth year, Draco went to his office (crying) and yelled at him about how utterly barbaric the first task was in that bloody tournament. He also demanded that Potter to be disqualified right there and then, to which his godfather responded:
“I will not let him die. He has to compete, there is no other option. Breathe, Draco.” He made a small pause and looked at him with kind eyes. “You foolish child... how long have you kept this inside?” And Draco started to cry even harder.
At least Mr Potter and Sirius seemed to be blind about the whole thing. They still, occasionally, joke about Weasley being his secret love. How can someone see him around Potter and not know? He even feels embarrassed about how obvious it is. Specially living at Grimmauld, because he could call him all the mean names he wanted but he was in Potter’s house . He couldn’t bully him in there or ignore him because it would be rude and it would hurt Sirius’s and Mr. Potter’s feelings.
Just a couple of weeks and they would be back at school. Not petals yet, even though the coughs were getting worst.
He just needed a distraction, to take a walk, whatever. He had a plan. Next week the twins would open the shop at diagon alley and he was determined to go. And because he knew that te answer was going to be ‘No, kid, it’s too dangerous’ he made a list of precautions that he promised to follow:
1. Mr. Potter and Sirius would come
2. I will change my hair color (black) with cosmetic charms
3. I will use Sirius old muggle clothes (because they will never suspect it)
4. It would be a short visit (an hour and a half)
5. In case something happens and I get caught I will not hold you responsible for that and I highly recommend to be obliviated so they can’t torture me for information.
He put that same list in front of Severus, Sirius and Mr Potter.
“No. Go upstairs, you are interrupting a meeting”
“I hate to agree with him but no, cousin.”
Draco rolled his eyes and groaned. It was just this thing! He never asked for anything. They were so unfair.
“I actually don’t see anything bad with it”
Mr Potter was an angel on earth. Draco smiled brightly at him. The other two men were looking at him, furiously.
“It may have slipped your notice, Potter, but you do not have a good radar for deathly situations.”
It was the wrong thing to say. Mr Potter face changed and looked with a severe face at him.
“I would recommend you to shut your greasy mouth, Snivellus.”
Draco frowned. He never called Severus names, it was a force of habit because of Lily. His godfather really had upset him. And something shifted in the potions professor too, something like pain and guilt. He closed his eyes and sighed before turning to Draco again.
“ONE hour. And you put something on your face that makes them think you are someone else.”
Draco nodded quickly. Pansy had taught him how to do his eyes, she had given him a shadow palet last year. With that, the muggle clothes and the black hair he would be safe for sure. Sirius interrupted them.
“How did I turned out to be the only responsible adult around here? This is a bad idea and I’M saying it!”
Draco 01- Adults 00
——————————
‘This is so bloody weird’ . Draco looked at his reflection on the mirror. The black color of his hair highlighted his skin tone and made the grey of his eyes stand out more. He kind of looked like Regulus.
He put some make up on too, black eyeliner and used a little blue metallic eyeshadow, very soft, to cover his eyes a little more. If someone would say he looked stupid, he could say that Severus made him do this. They didn’t need to know that Draco loved putting make up on.
Sirius had lend him a ‘Bowie t-shirt’ (which he still didn’t understand what it was, apparently some singer that muggles liked), some light-blue jeans that were ripped on the front and a pair of combat boots. He looked good. He thought it would be too weird but the style suited him rather nicely.
“Kid! Come on, everyone is already there.” Mr. Potter screamed from downstairs. He grabbed his wand and left his room.
“Hey, Sirius! I brought your brother back too!”
“IF YOU DID BLOOD MAGIC I’LL-“
And then he stopped talking when he saw Draco. His mouth was open and he had a disbelief look on his eyes. He could see the tears starting to appear on his eyes.
“You look just like him... I mean, not the clothes but-“ He could hear his voice cracking. His cousin reach to touch his face and his hair. “Prongs can you come, please?” Now Sirius was absolutely crying and Draco felt bad about joking about it before. Mr. Potter came running then.
“Padfoot? Why are you crying... Oh”
“He looks just like him, doesn’t he? Like if Regulus was using my clothes.” He said between tears.
Mr. Potter nodded and pulled Sirius into a hug. He kept whispering things to calm him down and at some point his cousin relaxed. It always surprised him how well he knew Sirius. When he was sad, when he was happy, when he was pissed off (and didn’t tell anyone)... James always knew, and he always knew what to do about it.
He would never regret making that deal. Never. How could he? He didn’t know Sirius without James and he didn’t want to.
After Sirius washed his face, they left the house. They apparated to the shop and got in as quickly as possible, the more eyes they avoided the better, but when they got in the place was crowded.
“It’s okay, kid. Just be careful. We will be here if anything happens.” He nodded at Mr. Potter and left to find the Gryffindors. It was bloody difficult with so many people there. Suddenly someone grabbed his arm, he turned to look, it was Potter.
“I though the whole point of you using this stuff was to not attract attention.” He said in a low voice. Draco frown at him.
“The whole point was not to look like me, and I don’t.” He said as pointed to his outfit and make up.
“Of course you look like you! And this is not blending in, Malfoy.” Potter hissed at him. So Potter thought he looked horrible. ‘ Don’t cough. Don’t cough. Don’t cough ’. He pulled his arm away from the boy and crossed his arms, uncomfortable.
“Sweet Merlin, you are on muggle clothes!” He heard Weasley when he appeared beside him, he was jumping on his spot like a bloody child. Draco rolled his eyes. “We should send a picture to Charlie!”
Potter pulled a disgusted face at that. Draco had this theory that Potter was a little disgusted by homosexuality. He wasn’t going to say that being gay was a bad thing, but if someone acted on it or talked about acting on it... He would react like this. Crossing his arms, looking away, making disgusted faces or changing the subject completely.
“ It’s a joke, Potter.” The green eyed boy had an annoyed expression on his face anyway. Draco turned to look at Weasley, maybe he knew why his best friend was so pissed off, but the redhead just shrugged.
They started walking so Draco could take a look around the place. It was so colorful. It seemed as if there was only happiness in the shop. Everyone was laughing, having a good time, and Ron told him that the sales were going pretty well from what he knew.
The three of them were looking at the Pygmy Puff section. Draco couldn’t understand how such a little thing could be so cute and fluffy. Weasley didn’t seemed to understand how fascinated he was with the creature, he kept asking if he was planning on passing the entire hour looking at balls of fur(to which Draco responded that it was a possibility, yes).
“Draco? Is that you?” He froze. He knew that voice. Potter and Weasley were with their wands on their hands already, just in case. He turned to see the boy and casted a muffliato around them so they could not be heard.
“Blaise. Hi.” He said with a small voice. It’s not like Blaise would do anything to him, as far as he knew, his family was neutral in the last war. It shouldn’t be different now.
Blaise was so handsome. Sometimes Draco thought so much about Potter, that he would forget that there were other attractive people on the planet. Looking at Blaise right now, he remembered why he was the first option on his list.
The boy was about the same hight as Draco. His dark skin looked so smooth, inviting to be touched. His deep dark eyes were looking at him as if he was in shock. Then Blaise smiled at him so brightly that it seemed to light up the whole room. He pulled Draco into a bone crushing hug while he was lifting him a little. His feet weren’t touching the ground, Blaise was so strong...
“Thank Merlin you are alive. Pansy will kill you for running away. You know that, right? Months and not even a letter saying that you didn’t die.”
He hugged Blaise back a little tighter, trying to convince him in that same hug that he was safe, that he shouldn’t worry.
“I’m hiding, I can’t send owls. I’m sorry, darling” He always used pet names with Pansy and Blaise. It was an habit that he got from his mother, she would always praise the ones she loved. She said it reminded them that they were importan to us, special.
“You look great, you know? I thought you were a random pretty guy. I was coming here to seduce you with my charms” Draco chuckled at that. Blaise put him down and looked at him with warm eyes. “This suits you, Dragon. I approve.”
Draco smiled at him and did a little twirl. He heard someone groaned behind him and he turned around.
“I haven’t seen my friends in two months, either you are patient and let me talk or you leave.” Weasley had his hands up as if he was saying ‘Not me,mate, I don’t care’ but Potter on the other hand was frowning at him.
“You shouldn’t be talking at all. He could tell someone he saw you with us. I don’t like it.” Draco glared at him.
“First: I don’t think the Zabini family will get involved in all of this. Second of all, Potter: who the hell asked for your opinion?” And that did it, because the green eyed boy looked so pissed off that he turned around and left. Weasley sighed and said that he was going to talk to him, see what the problem was. Draco nodded and said that he’ll be right there, just a few more minutes.
“Well, that was something I’ve never thought I’ll see. Potter being protective of you, I mean.” Draco chuckled and shook his head.
“ I think he’s worried that I’ll get kidnapped and they will know everything I know now.”
Blaised looked at him with an amused expression and shook his head.
“If you say so...”
They talked a little more, Draco promised to sit with him and Pansy on the train as always and asked Blaise to not say a word to anyone that he saw him, not even Pansy. Blaise complained a little but agreed.
“Just be careful.”
Draco nodded and gave him one last hug before he went looking for the Gryffindors.
He found them with Granger and Ginevra by the Amortentia fountain. Potter didn’t even looked at him. The twins were making fun of their sister because of Thomas. Draco being bored grabbed a little vial and opened it.
He knew he would smell Potter in there, he just didn’t know how. He put the vial in front of his nose and breathed in the potion. It was marvelous. Something sweet, like treacle tart. There was also the smell of fresh cut grass mixed with broom polish... like the quidditch pitch at Hogwarts. The last one was Potter’s cologne, which Draco thought it was ridiculous because it was the cheapest thing ever. The things that attracted him the most were all Potter. He sighed, the soft tickles started to act up. Please, not now.
He saw Potter frowning at his vial. Draco was sure he would regret it, but he walked around the fountain to stand next him.
“You look unhappy, Scarhead. What did you smelled there? “
“It’s none of you business, Malfoy.”
Draco rolled his eyes. They stood quietly there, hearing Weasley bickering with Granger about nonsense. A few moments later the dark haired boy spoke.
“This could be wrong, right? Like if it wasn’t brewed properly” Potter kept looking down, cute blush on his face. Draco smirked at him.
“If it wasn’t brewed properly you wouldn’t smell anything, besides, I smelled it too and it works fine. Believe me.”
Apparently it wasn’t what Potter wanted to hear because he blushed even harder and put the vial down.
“Really, Potter, why is it such a big deal?” The boy shrugged.
“If you mock me about it and I will hex you, Malfoy” The tickles on his ribs were even harder.
“Out with it. I promise I’ll keep my mouth shut.” The green eyed boy looked at him and took a step forward so he could lower his voice. He was looking at the rest of the Gryffindors that were on the other side of the fountain, as if he was making sure they weren’t going to be heard.
“One was Treacle tart... the other was the woody scent of a broomstick handle and” Potter looked down and muttered: “something flowery thats from the burrow.”
Draco just stood there. It was Ginevra. Of course it was. And Potter really had feelings for her because otherwise he wouldn’t had smelled her in the stupid vial. The strong tickles started, and they were worst than ever. He shouldn’t had asked. How fucking stupid could he be, Merlin. The first cough came out and he tried to push down the rest, to calm himself down, but it was useless. Draco was having a coughing fit and he just couldn’t stop.
“Malfoy? Do you need water?” Potter had a worried look in his eyes and he reach out to touch Draco’s back. He moved away quickly. If he touched him right then, it would be worst. Suddenly Ron was grabbing his face.
“Ferret, focus. What can we do?”
He couldn’t stop coughing, his lungs where burning. Shit. Not now, just a few more weeks, please . He forced his voice out, it came out very rough and affected.
“Sirius.” And Ron was yelling at Potter to look for him and Mr. Potter and to take them outside of the shop, while he took Draco there too. He was still coughing and making his best effort not to cry from pain. It burned so fucking much.
When they got outside the three of them were already there waiting for him.
“Kid? Do you hear me? We are going to apparate you home, don’t freak out.” He turned to look at Potter who was arguing with Sirius that he should go back with them (his cousin didn’t agreed). “Harry, stay with Ron. Please. We’ll go get you at the burrow later.” and he took Draco’s hand and apparated to Grimmauld place.
The moment Draco put a foot inside the house he ran to the bathroom and locked the door. He kept coughing but now he didn’t have to hide it, so it was a little better.
He looked down at the sink and there it was: a single flower petal covered in blood. He opened the tap and washed it so he could see it better.
It was a little yellow daffodil petal, also known as narcissus. He knew what it meant because of mother: it could be rebirth and new beginnings or it was also a symbol of unrequited love. He clearly new which meaning it had. Draco heard a knock on the door, so he quickly vanished the petal away. Both men entered.
“Are you alright? That was a really bad one...” Asked Mr. Potter.
Draco just nodded and said that he was better now.
“Did you cough any petals yet?”
He should tell them. He knew he should. But he couldn’t risked it. If Severus found out, it would be awful. He would be treated as if he was weak: they wouldn’t let him go to Hogsmeade without supervision, they would kick him out of the team and everyone would look at him with such pity. It wasn’t an option. Draco shook his head.
“No. Don’t worry, it’s still only the coughs”
And then he smiled at them.

Between the lines. Part 8
Summary:The reader is at Stanford with Sam and a few other familiar faces. She gets introduced to Dean, an FBI agent for help with a paper. The two grow even closer when Dean learns about her daughter and her troublesome situation. Check out the other parts here.
Pairing: Dean x reader.
Warnings: Language, Domestic abuse.
A/N: tags open!
Later that day you were discharged and you were currently sitting in Deans car on the way to his house, after he came by the hospital to pick you up and a quick stop at yours first to grab some stuff for you and Amelia.
“Dean are you sure about this?” You asked as Dean stopped the car, parking outside his house.
“Y/n/n, will you stop worrying already. I’m sure. You and Amelia are both welcome here. I have a couple spare rooms anyway. They just weren’t suitable for guests yet.” Dean laughs.
“Please tell me you didn’t go out and buy beds and things just because we’re staying here.” You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Ok I won’t tell you that.” Dean smirked, getting out of the car. You followed him inside and he led you upstairs passing his room and showing you to the room next door and dumping your bag on the very obviously brand-new bed.
“You can stay in here and Amelia can sleep in the room just down here.” Dean said leading you to a room down the hall. He opened the door dropping Amelia’s bag on a bright purple bed, the room didn’t just have a bed in it like yours though. There was a wooden desk in the corner and next to it a set of clear draws filled with all different kinds of kids art supplies. There was also a small toy chest at the end of the bed with a few older looking toys in them.
“I hope it’s ok. Charlie told me her favourite colour was Purple. And she really liked to draw. She doesn’t have to play with the toys it’s just a couple things I had laying around from when I was a kid.” Dean explained, clearly rambling. You started to tear up making Dean panic.
“Y/n, if you don’t like it, it’s ok we can return it and get her some...”
“No Dean I love it. Thank you. This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for us.” You smiled at Dean, before leaning over and kissing his cheek.
“I figured even after you don’t need to stay here, I could still watch Amelia from time to time. Give you a break you know.” He smiled at you, relieved that you liked it. Before you could answer you tried and failed to fight of a yawn.
“Go take a nap y/n, before Sam drops off Amelia. You need it.” You nodded and left to go to your room.
Dean sat downstairs on the couch pulling out his phone to a frequently used group chat; Bitches. Of course Charlie named it.
Dean: Just got back from the hospital, y/n is taking a nap but she’s ok.
Charlie: oh thank god.
Sam: She nearly wasn’t though guys. That was a real close call.
Charlie: Yeah, I don’t like it. De are you sure there's nothing you can do without her agreeing to press charges?
Dean: Unfortunately not, unless I see it happen or there is actual proof it was him that did it, I can’t do shit.
Sam: It sucks. What’s the point in having a badge if you can’t use it for shit like this.
Dean: I know Sammy. We’re just going to have to do something that involves me leaving my badge at home. She clearly won’t come to me about it in a professional capacity. She still won’t even leave the jackass.
Charlie: Guys you have to remember she’s been taking this shit for 2 years all alone. We didn’t even know she had a child for fuck sake. In y/n/n mind he was the only person who was there for her when the rest of the world shut her out. She needs to be reminded she has other places to turn, that she’s not trapped. But how do we keep the fucker away from her in the meantime.
Dean: He’s not back till after Christmas now anyway, but you leave that to me kiddo.
Later that evening Dean was looking over take out menus when there was a knock at the door.
“Heya Sammy, hey jess.” Dean said stepping aside to let Sam, jess and Amelia in.
“Y/n is still asleep. I’m just about to order pizza, You guys in?”
“Sounds great de.” Jess smiled sweetly.
“Uncle Sammy, I want my mommy.” Amelia said pulling in Sam’s arm.
“She’s asleep right now Ame but we can invite your aunt Charlie over if you want.” Sam said softly.
“Yay! I like Aunt Charlie. She's silly.” Amelia giggled.
“Already on it.” Dean called from the kitchen, sending a quick text to Charlie before calling for pizza.
Around half an hour later, you woke up and heard laughing coming from downstairs. You made your way towards the sound and saw all your friends sitting around.
“Mommy, You’re awake.” Amelia said running over to you, drawing everyone’s attention to you.
“Hey y/n/n. How you feeling?” Jess asked you, after you picked Amelia up.
“My head hurt’s but other than that I'm good.” You were all interrupted by a knock at the door.
“Pizza’s here.” Dean said going over to the door and grabbing the food.
You all sat around talking and laughing for a few hours just genuinely having a good time. Everyone avoiding the topic they all really wanted to talk about because of Amelia. Around 10 you couldn’t hold back a yawn and Amelia had already fallen asleep on the couch. Sam, Jess and Charlie decided to call it a night. Leaving just you and Dean.
“How you really feeling?” Dean asked as soon as he shut the door.
“My head is pounding and I'm exhausted.” You admitted.
“Get to bed y/n/n.” He smiled at you. You stood from your seat and went to pick up Amelia.
“Leave her, I got it.” Dean said scooping Amelia up in his arms and following you up the stairs. Dean walked past you and into Amelia’s room putting her down on the bed and tucking her in before leaving and shutting the door. You’d been watching Dean with Amelia all evening he was a natural.
“You’re good with her.” You smiled, leaning in the doorway of your room.
“What can I say, kids love me.” He joked. You couldn’t help but remember the conversation you over heard him having on the phone.
“You just don’t want any?” You asked.
“Of course I do. Hey I feel like I need to explain something to you.” Dean said leading you into your room and sitting you both down on the bed.
“About that conversation you overheard the other day. When I was on the phone.”
“Dean you don’t have to explain anything.”
“Yes I do y/n.” Dean took a shaky breath before continuing. “That call was with my ex Lisa. We were together for 3 years. She was cheating on me the whole time, she found out she was pregnant about 2 months ago. The timing didn’t fit, the kids not mine. She’s a typical rich bitch, I can see that now. Her parents will definitely cut her off when they find out, so she wanted me to marry her and pretend the kid was mine so she could keep her money.” You felt bad for him. Dean was sweet, how could anybody treat him like that.
“Sounds like a real bitch, you deserve better.” Dean chuckled to himself.
“Well you see there’s this girl, she smart, funny and beautiful. Got a pretty cute kid too. But we’ll have to see how that plays out.” You blushed. Dean stood up stretching before leaning over and kissing your head.
“Goodnight Y/n.”

Murphy’s Law states
Summary: Garth and Bess plan a New Year's Party with one goal in mind.
Square Filled: New Years (Genre)
Pairing(s)/Character(s): eventual Charlie x Reader. Previous Y/N x Connor (OMC). Garth x Bess Sam and Dean. Murphy (OFC)
Word Count: 2,107
Warning(s): Not a warning per se but everyone in this fic is a werewolf.
A/N: This was written for @spngenrebingo . Thank you @fictionalabyss and @coffee-obsessed-writer for all the help 💜 Unbeta’d - so all grammar mistakes are my own.
I do not own any of the pictures I used in my aesthetic.
It was unusually warm for the end of December so you had all of your windows open. You were hoping that fresh air would do your home some good. November had been a rough month for you. Not only did you lose your job of five years, you lost your mate. Connor was in the wrong place at the wrong time, according to the detective that called you and needed you to identify the body. At least you had help with the funeral. Not from your fiancé’s family, but from your pack leader. Garth was with you every step of the way.
A gentle knock on your screen door pulled you away from your baking, and you smiled when you realized it was Garth. He let himself in and when you turned around, you realized he was holding a tray of sandwiches, a small mixture of veggies and a pitcher of sweet tea. “The missus wanted me to bring this over and she expects you to eat everything.”
“Even the veggies?”
“Especially the veggies.”
“How is Bess doing? Is she going crazy from being on bed rest?”
“She loves that our pups will be here soon but she hates that she’s confined to the bed.”
Garth watched as you pulled a couple of glasses out of the lowest cabinet, and placed them on the kitchen counter. “I know you didn’t come over just to bring me food, so what’s up?” You picked up a sandwich, and sniffed it cautiously before taking a bite.
“Whatcha doin’ for New Years Eve?”
“Probably nothing.” You took another bite of your sandwich before Garth poured you a cup of tea and slid it towards you. “Why?”
“Well Bess and I are hosting a sort of get together with one of the local packs, and we want you to come.”
“Do I have to? You know, I haven’t really been around anyone since -”
“I know Y/N, I do, but you are a part of our pack. I promise, it wouldn’t be a huge group of people. You remember the Winchesters?” You popped a cherry tomato in your mouth and nodded.
“How many people are we talking, Garth?” You picked up another tomato and just rolled it around in your hand before eating it.
“10 or more.”
“Garthhhhh.” He chuckled as you threw a piece of broccoli at him. “What's the point of going out for New Years Eve? Even if I wanted to get drunk, I can’t…”
“Y/N, you have a perfectly good reason for not drinking.”
“I’ll be the only sober kid at the party.”
“No you won’t. Bess can’t drink, and I’m not drinking either.”
You snorted out a laugh. “Are you really?”
“Yes ma’am. You can always keep Bess company if you don’t want to talk to anyone.”
“That was my plan anyways.”
Garth’s phone beeped, and he had to excuse himself. “You’ll bring our dishes back later, right?”
“No, I’m gonna sell ‘em to the highest bidder on eBay.” You rolled your eyes and grinned as he hovered in the doorway. You walked a few steps and gave him a quick hug before pushing him out the door. “Garth, don’t worry, I’ll bring ‘em back. Now go, someone obviously needs you more than I do.”
A few days later
>> Garth, what in the world am I supposed to wear tonight? HELP ME.
<< Check your closet - there should be a dress and high heels in there. << Don’t ask how they got there… << Bess wants me to remind you that you’ll look beautiful in what she picked out. Oh, and you better be wearing it when pick you up. I'm not arguing with my pregnant wife, so just wear it, please?
>> Fine. What about accessories?
<< On your dresser.
>> Okay.
>> Thank you guys, I mean it.
<< Anytime, you know that.
--
>> Are you guys here yet?
>> Because we might have a problem…
<< What’s wrong? Does everything fit correctly? Garth is driving so I’m answering for him.
>> Everything fits perfectly, thank you Bess.
>> So I have a kitchen counter full of baked goods.
<< Y/N… << Wait, did you make pies?
>> Yeah, of course.
<< Bring everything wirh you
>> Wirh me?
<< Shut up, Garth hit a bump..
>> Are you guys - no wait, I think someone is knocking at the door.
<< Yeah, that’s Garth.
<< He’s gonna help carry everything, because you shouldn’t be carrying anything.
>> Okay mom, sheesh.
>> I’ll be out in a second…
<< We’ll have fun tonight, I promise.
--
“Here you go ladies.” The conversation with Bess pauses for a split second as the bubbly red-head sets down a drink in front of each of you.
“Is there alcohol in this?” You reach for the glass in front of you and cautiously sniff at it.
“I was told by your pack leader, who is the sweetest guy by the way, that you two weren’t drinking tonight and we didn’t want you to feel left out. I promise you, there is not a drop of alcohol in there.” Charlie watches as you cautiously take a sip and sighed. “Good, right?”
“This is fantastic. Bess, you need to try this.” You pushed the other glass towards her with a grin. Bess raised an eyebrow at the glass before picking it up to take a sip.
“Oh, that is nice. What’s in this, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Cucumber, coconut water, lime juice and mint.” You finish off your drink and Charlie asks if you’d like a refill. You nod with a shy smile on your face. She promises she’ll be right back.
“Somebody likes youuu.” You roll your eyes at Bess’s teasing.
“No, she’s just being polite. Unless you guys are tryin’ to set me up again.”
“I can neither confirm or deny anything.”
You smiled sadly and glance over at the bar where she was mixing up your drink. “She seems like a sweet girl, and I’d be happy to have her as a friend.”
Bess took another sip of her drink and sets it on the stand sitting beside her. “There’s an unspoken but there, what’s wrong?”
“I didn’t even introduce myself.” You grab a pillow from the couch and place it over your face. “Oh my god Bess, I don’t even know her name…”
“Charlie.” You slowly lower the pillow and your face turns bright red as she stands behind the couch. “Charlie Bradbury, it’s nice to meet you… ” You keep your eyes on Charlie as she hands you your drink, and moves around the couch to take a seat next to you
“I’m Y/N L/N and that’s Bess Fitzgerald, our pack leader’s wife.”
“It’s nice to meet the both of you.”
--
“I can promise you that she doesn’t bite. I mean, she might, if you’re into that sort of thing.” You heard him chuckle and then turned around to get a good look at who was talking to you. He was standing with a bottle of beer in one hand and a plate filled with deserts in the other. “You mind if I sit next to you?”
“Sure, go ahead.” You quietly chuckle and take a sip of your newest drink.
“Are you actually enjoying those things?” He gestured to your glass and you smiled.
“They aren’t that bad. This one is just 7-up and pineapple juice with sherbet. It’s pretty good actually.”
The two of you chatted and occasionally, Dean would go silent from eating something. You smiled at the small noises he would make. “I wanna meet whoever made this pie. It’s the best thing I’ve had all night.”
“You don’t have to look that far.”
“No way, you?”
“I made everything you have on that plate. I tend to bake when I’m nervous…”
“Garth mentioned something like that. You must be Y/N, then?”
“In the flesh, and you are..?”
“I’m Dean Winchester.”
“So Dean, between you and Garth, who’s idea was it to set me and Charlie up?” Dean was about to answer when Garth started shouting your name over and over from across the room. You rolled your eyes and cupped your hands over your mouth to shout back at him. “What do you want?”
“Come play Cards Against Humanity with us!!”
“I’ll be right there.” Dean chuckled beside you. “You owe me an answer, Winchester.”
“It was Garth actually.” Dean brushed the crumbs off of his shirt as he stood up. “He’s been worried about you.”
“It hasn’t been easy, I’ll admit but Garth and Bess made it easier. I’m not ready to date, and I don’t know when I’ll be ready to again, but I want to get to know Charlie.”
“You can always start tonight.” Dean nudged his head towards the table where everyone was waiting for the game to start. He grinned as he watched you walk across the room and take the empty seat next to Charlie.
--
It was getting closer and closer to midnight, and every time you tried to talk to Charlie, someone would interrupt the two of you.
“Who did I piss off tonight?” You mumbled to yourself as another drink was placed in front of you. You gave a quiet thanks and sighed to yourself as the waitress walked away. “You’d give me so much shit for this Connor, I know you would. I love you, and I miss you but all I’m asking for is one uninterrupted conversation with her. Is that asking too much? Connor, you wanna help me out here? You know what, I know exactly how you’d respond to that, so never mind.” You took a nervous sip of your drink when you felt someone tapping on your shoulder.
“Am I interrupting?”
“Of course not, I mean… I was just talking to myself.”
“I hope the conversation was good at least.” You snorted into your drink and when you heard Charlie laughing, you made eye contact with her. “What, it’s a legitimate statement.”
“My fiancé said something similar to that when we first met. Only I was ranting about something work related that pissed me off… You should’ve seen his face.”
“You ramble when you’re nervous, don’t you?” You nodded your head and watched as she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “It’s cute. You’re cute, but Y/N? You don’t have to be nervous around me.”

“Well, I know that now.” And for the first time that night, you genuinely smiled.

More and more people were making their way outside to watch the fireworks that were set to go off at midnight, and you were relieved. More bodies meant you wouldn’t do something stupid.

Other couples were kissing at this point, and your face flushed. It wasn’t until someone bumped into you hard, and sent you forward that you realized your lips were pressed against Charlie’s. The two of you pulled apart and started laughing at what happened. “I’d like to try that for real one day.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“It’s a date then.” Charlie winked as she softly kissed your lips again and grabbed a hold of your hand.

“Happy New Year!!”

“So you’re telling me, that your first kiss with mom was a complete fluke?” Murphy looked up at you when you finished braiding her hair.
“Not a fluke, just a happy accident.”
Murphy turned around in your lap and grinned at you. “I know that’s how you met mom, but what brought you two together?”
“That my child is a story for another time.” You hopped her on the nose and watched as she stood up and made her way over to her bed. Murphy pulled the sheet over her body and yawned.
“Mommy?”
“Yes dear?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Murphy. Good night, baby.” You kissed her on the forehead before flicking on her night light and leaving the door open a crack before exiting her room.
You made your way downstairs towards the kitchen and you lingered in the doorway. Charlie was quietly humming along with radio as she frosted yet another cupcake. “Need some help?”
“Nah, I’m almost done. Our baby is turning 8 tomorrow. Where’d the time go?”
“That’s a fantastic question but I don’t have an answer.”
"You wanna watch a movie before bed? We can always multitask..” Charlie waggled her eyebrows and you giggled quietly.
“We have gift bags to put together missy.” You paused with a smile tugging at the corner of your lips. “But we can always work on those in the morning..” You walked around the island to kiss Charlie on the cheek and darted out of the room with Charlie chasing after you.

Every question.
1. Would you have sex with the last person you text messaged?Ohhh yes ;)
2. You talked to an ex today, correct?Nope. I never saw Cassie again since I saved her more than ten years ago. Lisa doesn’t even remember me. And Robin? Nope I visit her once at the restaurant she works at but that was also a long time ago.And I mean... why would I?
3. Have you taken someones virginity?Yeah I did.

6. What are you excited for?Don’t tell anyone. Maybe christmas. Definitively for my wedding.
7. What happened tonight?Hmm. I made dinner, we watched a movie. Cas was telling me about some new facts about bees. I tried to teach him pool. He disctracted me. We went to bed ;)

15. Are you going out with the last person you kissed?Oh hell yes.

26. Is your current hair color your natural hair color?Yes it is.

Based off of this post by the amazing Julie, who is basically my twin. I had a really hard time ending this so I'm sorry if it seems really abrupt!
Hope you like it, Julie!
Arrogance & Assumptions
In her dream, Lizzie Bennet is standing victorious over Will Darcy’s prone body, his usual smirk turned into a frown as he pleads for his life. She shifts in her sleep as the dream changes, Darcy standing and stepping ever closer with an earnest look on his face, as she leans in and -
But her dream is interrupted when she wakes up, startled by a loud thump near her head. She sits up from where she fell asleep hunched over her desk. “Jesus Christ.”
Chaz beams down at her unapologetically. “Come on, sleepy, Jane’s waiting for us at Meryton’s.”
“How did you even get in here, Chaz?” she asks in confusion as she rubs the sleep from her eyes.
“I had a copy of your key made the last time you accidentally left them at my place,” they say with a grin and a wink. “I’ll give you ten minutes to wash your face and change your shirt into something less… wrinkled.”
She looks down at her shirt, slightly offended. “What’s wrong with it?”
“No offense dear, but that’s not something even my ninety-year-old grandmother would be caught dead in.”
She sighs. “Yeah, alright, I’ll change.”
Twenty minutes later finds them walking through the double doors of their favorite bar, Meryton’s. It’s packed to the brim with college students, so Lizzie and Chaz have to elbow their way through the crowd to the bar, where they can see the telltale flash of blonde that signifies Jane Gardner’s presence.
“Jane!” Lizzie calls out as they get closer, waving her arm wildly above her head. “We’re here!”
Jane startles and looks over at them, a bright smile stretching her face. “Lizzie, Chaz! Where were you, I’ve been waiting for like half an hour!”
“Someone,” Chaz says, jabbing their thumb in Lizzie’s direction, “decided taking a nap beforehand would be a good idea.”
“Listen, I was up all night reading about the Flagstaff War of 1845. Excuse me if I’m a little tired.” She rolls her eyes as she swipes Jane’s drink for a sip.
“Lizzie,” Jane scolds before taking the drink back, “you can’t expect us to feel sorry for you when I know for a fact that wasn’t required reading.”
Lizzie flushes. “It was required by the fact that I have class with Darcy and he’s for sure going to bring it up tomorrow during class.”
“You don’t know that. Try giving him the benefit of the doubt once in awhile.” Jane sighs.
“That's.” Chaz seizes the seat next to her when the previous occupant gets up. “Now, be a dear and get us drinks.”
“You can’t get them?” Jane asks, even though she’s already leaning forward.
Lizzie smiles and presses a kiss to her temple. “No one gives us second glances when we’re with you, Janie.”
Jane protests but it’s nothing less than the truth. Throughout the hour and a half they’re there for, no less than 8 different men and 3 women try to approach her. Lizzie and Chaz, however, are left basically on their own, which is fine by them. Chaz has a long-distance relationship with a girl they met online through a Star Trek appreciation fansite, and Lizzie is fine being single. The last boyfriend she had, if he could be called that, ended in a roaring ball of flames, literally, when he set her lab assignment on fire. And, anyway, if she’s going to take over the National Parks Service before she’s 40, she doesn’t have time for romance.
At least, that’s what she’ll use as an excuse if she’s asked out by G.W. again, when the three of them bump into him on their way out of the bar.
“Ladies, and Chaz,” he waggles his eyebrows comically, “what’re you doing here?”
“Getting a drink,” Chaz snaps, “not that it’s any of your business.”
“My bad.” He holds his hands up. “Just trying to make conversation. Lizzie, how’re your classes?”
“Fine, G.W.” She sighs, always a little more willing than Chaz to give him the time of day. “We’re heading off now, though. I have to finish my reading for class tonight.”
“Good luck!” He gives her a wink as they move away from him.
“Ugh, what a slimy bastard,” Chaz says, wrinkling their nose. “I can’t believe you’re civil to him, Liz.”
She can feel the tips of her ears go pink. “What? He may be a dick but he is cute.”
“You could do so much better, dear.” Chaz throws an arm around her shoulders. “And what’s this about reading for class tomorrow? I thought you had it done.”
Jane laughs and swings her arm around Lizzie’s waist. “Oh, she finished the required reading. This is strictly extracurricular. Like the Flagstaff War.”
Chaz rolls their eyes. “I would say I can’t believe you but I totally can.”
“Shut up.” Lizzie’s face flushes, matching her ears. “Let me live.”
Chaz and Jane laugh most of the way home, and Lizzie can’t help but join in.
“- and that’s why Cutlar was in the wrong!” Lizzie is trying her best to not yell, but she doesn’t know if she’s succeeding. Judging by the look on DeBourgh’s face, she would say she wasn’t.
“Oh, and he’s supposed to just let this pig eat all of his potatoes?” Darcy scoffs.
“Like, I’m supposed to believe that the pig would eat all his goddamn potatoes,” Lizzie says hotly.
“Enough!” Professor DeBourgh stands up. “Bennet, out!”
Lizzie makes sure to slam the door behind her on the way out. “Goddamn favoritism.”
“What did you get kicked out for now?” an exasperated voice sounds behind her.
She turns and grins sheepishly. “Mary! I didn’t know you had class in the Brighton Wing.”
Mary sighs deeply. “I don’t. I’m just taking a shortcut to King Library. You’re evading the question, by the way.”
“I got into another argument with Darcy.”
Mary rolls her eyes. “Of course you did. What about?”
“Uh,” Lizzie winces, “the Pig War of 1859.”
If Mary rolled her eyes any harder, they’d probably fall out. “Jesus Christ. I’m leaving.”
“Love you, too, Mary!” Lizzie waves after the girl’s retreating back.
Once she’s out of sight, however, Lizzie sighs and slumps against the wall, waiting for class to let out so she can talk to DeBourgh about not losing participation points.
Soon enough, the door opens and students start flooding the hallway, a few of them sending her smirks. She rolls her eyes and moves to step into the classroom when no one but Darcy himself blocks her way. “Lizzie.”
“Darcy.” She tries to be as polite as she can, but she falls short. “If you don’t mind, I need to see DeBourgh.”
“Of course.” He’s still smirking as he steps out of the doorway. “After you.”
Lizzie feels like if she were in a cartoon, there would be steam coming out of her ears. “Thanks,” she says shortly.
“Bennet,” DeBourgh says cooly. “Here to disrupt my day even further?”
“No, Professor.” She sighs. “I was just wondering if we could talk about my participation grade.”
“And how you’re currently at five out of ten points?”
Lizzie tries very hard not to snap. “And how many points does Darcy have?”
“I’m afraid that’s none of your business. If you’re really serious about raising your grade, you need to stop antagonizing Darcy.” She gathers her papers and looks at Lizzie with a condescending look. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to prepare for my next class.”
“Me? Antagonize him?” Lizzie insists. “What about when he antagonizes me? Which is all the time!”
DeBourgh rolls her eyes. “This is not up for discussion, Bennet. I’ll see you next week.”
Lizzie leaves feeling like she wants to strangle someone. She would prefer to strangle Darcy, but DeBourgh would be a fine substitute. Since she doesn’t have any more classes for the rest of the day, she heads back to Longbourn, looking forward to taking a nap.
As she enters the building, Mrs. B stops her. “Lizzie dear, how are you today?”
Lizzie manages a smile. “Oh, you know, just tired from school.”
“Well, you’re almost done, aren’t you dear?” Mrs. B gives her a smile. “Oh, I thought you might like to know, a George stopped by earlier looking for you. Is he your boyfriend?”
“Oh, God no.” Lizzie wrinkles her nose. G.W. may be cute, but his dudebro attitude is a definite turn-off for her. “But thanks for letting me know. See you later, Mrs. B.”
“Have a good day, dear!”
Lizzie takes the stairs slowly, a headache beginning to form. She sighs and rubs at her temples as she reaches her door, quickly flipping the lock and making a bee-line for her bed. She falls face first onto it and closes her eyes, silently plotting Darcy’s demise.
“Lizzie?” Jane pokes her head into her room. “You okay?”
“Yeah, fine, if you don’t count Darcy ruining my life.”
Jane sighs. “You know, I’m sure if you just gave him a chance he might surprise you. He is Charlie’s best friend after all.”
“Charlie could make friends with a wild bear,” Lizzie grumbles. “He’s too damn nice.”
“That doesn’t mean his friends aren’t good people,” Jane protests. “Come on, you can come with us to Meryton’s.”
Lizzie rolls over on her back with a snort. “And third-wheel your date? No thanks.”
“Do you want me to cancel?” Jane asks softly. “We can just pig out on ice cream and binge-watch Sense8.”
Feeling guilty, Lizzie offers a smile and sits up. “No, I’ll be fine, I promise. Go and have fun. I’ll see if I can go bother Chaz if they’re not too busy.”
“If you’re sure,” Jane says dubiously.
“Of course I am.” Lizzie waves her off. “Now, go have fun, and don’t you dare come back before 11.”
“AM or PM?”
“Either. I’m not picky.”
With a roll of her eyes Jane does leave, which lets Lizzie flop down on her bed again with a groan. The truth is, she knows Chaz is on a Skype date with their girlfriend, and is more interested in spending time pouring over her senior thesis, which is a comprehensive clean-up plan for Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.
An hour into her review, she’s interrupted by a thumping on the door. She curses as she stands up too quickly, her back aching with the sudden movement. “Jane, did you lose your keys again? Because, honestly two times in the past month is way -”
“Lizzie!” Lydia pushes past her once the door is open, Kat following closely behind. “We’ve come to raid your closet.”
“Why, yes, Lydia, come right on in,” Lizzie says sarcastically, shutting the door behind them. “Help yourselves, it’s not like you routinely ruin my clothes.”
Lydia rolls her eyes as she and Kat dig through her closet, occasionally throwing a piece of clothing onto the bed. “It’s a 90’s throwback party and you’re the only person we know who still has unironic flannel shirts.”
“Glad to help, as always,” Lizzie grumbles, turning back to her desk. “Just don’t rip them up like you did to my jacket last time.”
“We were making improvements,” Kat insists, holding up a white tank top that’s seen better days. “It’s not our fault you wouldn’t know fashion if it bit you on the nose.”
Lydia turns to Lizzie suddenly, holding up a green and blue flannel shirt she loves. “Hey, Liz, you should come with!”
Lizzie laughs. “I don’t think so, you two. I’m supposed to be done editing my thesis this week and I’ve still got the last three chapters to go over.”
“That’s a lame excuse, Elizabeth Bennet, and you know it.” Lydia throws a couple of pieces of clothing at her. “Get dressed. We’re leaving in twenty.”
Lizzie’s still not quite sure how she ends up at the party, and can only chalk it up to some sort of witchcraft, because she really wants to be literally anywhere else. Thankfully, Lydia and Kat seem to forget she exists the minute they enter the house, and Lizzie is seriously considering calling a Lyft from her corner in one of the quieter rooms. This consideration is promoted even further when she sees Caroline Bingley, Charlie’s sister, flipping her hair across the room.
There’s nothing wrong with hair flipping in Lizzie’s opinion, but everything Caroline does annoys Lizzie to no extent ever since she tried to break up Jane and Charlie over Thanksgiving break. It also doesn’t help that she’s a theater major, and uses every chance she gets to talk about that one time she was an extra in an off-Broadway play that Lizzie knows for a fact had to close a month early because no one was watching it.
“Hey, I’m sorry, but my phone has died, can I look at yours?” A girl that looks like she’s probably a freshman slides up next to her, stopping her from going down the spiral of hate she has towards Caroline. “I promised my brother I’d be back at midnight.”
Lizzie flashes her phone at the girl. “It’s 11:15.”
“Cool, thanks! My name is G.G.”
Over the din of the party, Lizzie thinks she can hear a British accent, but isn’t too entirely sure. “Lizzie.”
G.G. holds out her hand for a shake. “Pleasure. No offence, but this doesn’t really look like your kind of scene.”
Lizzie laughs. “Oh, it’s not. My neighbors dragged me out here. They’re worried I’m going to die old and alone. What about you?”
“Bum date.” G.G. jerks her thumb over her shoulder, gesturing to the room where some people have started grinding on each other. “You go to Hetford?”
“Yeah, I’m an Adventure Recreation major.” She gives G.G. a once over. “Let me guess, Music major?”
G.G. grins. “I’m declaring it at the end of the month. How’d you tell?”
“Your shirt.” Lizzie gestures to the words Drummers do it with rhythm sprawled across her chest.
The other girl laughs. “Gag gift from a friend back in England. My brother hates it.”
“Does he go to Hertford, too?”
“Yeah, he’s a Politics major and super boring.” G.G. shrugs. “I love him anyway. Which reminds me, I better get going.”
“Do you have a ride?” Lizzie asks. “I was about to get a Lyft.”
“Oh, cool! Would you mind sharing one?” She wrinkles her nose. “My ride was my date.”
As they make their way out of the house, they’re stopped by no one other than G.W. “Hey, G.G. I was wondering where you’d gone!”
“I’m leaving, George! Don’t bother calling.” G.G. rolls her eyes and walks away.
“What about you, Liz? Can I interest you in some dancing?” He waggles his eyebrows comically.
Lizzie bursts out laughing. “You don’t even go here!”
“Don’t hate the player, hate the game!” he shouts after her, but she’s able to ignore it as she makes her way to where G.G. is keeping an eye out for their driver.
“How’d you meet G.W.?” Lizzie’s glad she doesn’t have to shout anymore, her voice hoarse.
“He’s always sniffing around the Fitz Auditorium. I thought he was harmless enough when he asked me out, but he’s actually a giant fuckboy.”
Lizzie snorts. “Sounds about right.”
With an exchange of numbers and a promise to hang out, the Lyft drops G.G. off at the Netherfield Park complex, which sounds vaguely familiar to Lizzie, but she’s not quite able to place it.
When she gets back to Longbourne, Mrs. B is lurking by the door again. “Hello, dear! Have a nice time?”
“Not really. Parties aren’t exactly my thing.”
Mrs. B makes a disappointed noise. “But parties are the best place to meet potential husbands!”
Lizzie chokes on nothing. “Good thing I’m not looking for one.”
Her landlady shakes her head. “I’m sure you’ll be changing your tune soon enough, dear. No one wants to be alone forever.”
“We’ll see about that,” Lizzie grumbles, rushing up the stairs to her apartment to avoid further conversation.
When she gets back, Chaz is idly flipping through one of her many manuals on National Parks Rules and Regulations. “Sup girl?”
“I thought you had a Skype date.” Lizzie sighs, dumping her purse by the door. “Is Jane back yet?”
“Anne had to get up early so we cut it short. As for Jane, nope.”
“Good.” Lizzie stretches out on the couch next to her best friend. “I hope she’s having a good time.”
Chaz snorts. “More like getting laid.”
“Yeah, well, I’m trying to be polite.”
Chaz grins. “And where’s the fun in that?”
Lizzie turns on the TV and starts flipping through Netflix. “So, Stranger Things?”
“You know it.”
“Ugh.” Mary flops down across the table where Lizzie is trying to finish an essay.
“Bad day?” Lizzie asks, looking up.
“Just ran into Collins, who tried to explain to me the flaws behind the Dewey decimal system.” Mary scoffs and opens her own book. “It’s not like I’m a Library Sciences major or anything.”
Lizzie snorts. “Well, if mansplaining was a sport he’d have a gold medal.”
“True.”
They pass an hour that way, both of them working through their homework. Lizzie is snapped out of her reverie, however, by the sound of her phone vibrating against the table, the ID reading G.G.. “Whoops.”
Mary presses her lips together. “I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that. It’s not like phones should be shut off in the library, or anything.”
Lizzie rolls her eyes before opening up the text. Wanna grab coffee? I’ve got 30 before I have to meet up w/ my brother.
She taps out an affirmative before gathering up her stuff. “I gotta go. Later, Mary. May the rest of your day be blessed with an absence of Collins.”
“Thanks,” the other girl says dryly. “Have fun.”
Lizzie manages to make it to the coffee shop G.G. named in ten minutes, looking around before seeing the flash of purple-streaked hair. “Hey!”
G.G. looks up with a bright smile. “Lizzie!”
After ordering, Lizzie sits down across from G.G. “So, what’s up?”
“I think we have the ability to become great friends, so I thought I’d make the first move.” G.G. gestures to Lizzie. “So, tell me about yourself.”
Lizzie laughs before launching into her likes and dislikes, her plans for the future, and her experience at the university. G.G. reciprocates, and before she knows it, there’s a polite throat clearing next to her.
Startled, Lizzie looks up. “Darcy.”
“Elizabeth.” He smiles. “I see you’ve met my sister.”
Lizzie can’t help but gape at G.G., who beams. “Oh, you two know each other?”
“Elizabeth is in my Politics 720 class.”
G.G.’s smile turns into a smirk. “Ah, okay. This is the girl you’re always talking about? I guess it’s a small world.”
Darcy coughs. “G.G.”
Lizzie’s head is spinning. “Um, I have to go. I’ll just…” she trails off, before booking it out of the coffee shop.
She manages to almost run straight into Jane a block away, who’s holding hands with Charlie, and generally looking very happy. “Lizzie!”
“Jane!” Lizzie bends over, trying to catch her breath.
“Are you okay?” Charlie asks with concern.
Lizzie waves him off. “Yeah, fine. Just running away from my problems.”
“Well, we were just about to grab some coffee. Want to come with?”
“No, no, that’s okay.” Lizzie shakes her head. “I’ve got some reading to do.”
Jane looks at her dubiously. “If you’re sure.”
“Yup! Have fun!” Lizzie waves them off, waiting until they’re out of sight before she starts banging her head against the brick wall next to her. It would be just her luck to befriend Darcy’s sister.
After she feels like she’s punished herself enough, she heads to Chaz’s apartment so they can knock some sense into her.
Once there, she knocks on the door obnoxiously until Chaz throws it open with a scowl. “You know you can just knock once and I’ll answer, right?”
“I’m in a mood.” Lizzie sighs as she throws herself on the couch. “I accidentally made friends with Darcy’s sister.”
There’s a beat of silence before Chaz bursts into laughter. “Oh my God, you would.”
Lizzie scowls at the ceiling. “I came over for your support, not for your laughter.”
Chaz grins as they crash on the couch next to her. “Oh, come on, you’ve got to admit it’s funny. And who knows? Maybe this way you’ll get over your stupid rivalry.”
“It’s not stupid,” she says petulantly. “And, anyway, he started it.”
They roll their eyes. “You’re such a baby. Would it make you feel better if we went to Meryton’s?”
She does perk up at that. “I’m always up for a little day drinking.”
“And that’s why we’re best friends.”
Meryton’s has a few people in it, but it’s certainly not as crowded as it will be in three hours. Lizzie orders a round for them, bringing the two beers back to their table. It’s nice to just relax and drink with her best friend after what can only be called a stressful week.
Jane shows up about an hour later with a smile on her face. “Mind if I join?”
“No, of course not! In fact, the more the merrier!” Lizzie grins, a little tipsy as she’s on her fourth beer. “In fact…” She sends out a mass text to Lydia, Kitty, and Mary, and soon the six of them are gathered around the table, laughing and catching up with one another.
Lizzie recognizes that they all tend to get on one another’s nerves occasionally, but they’re basically family at this point, and it’s always nice to spend time with her family.
She’s been friends with G.G. for a good four months when the younger girl suggests Lizzie accompany her and her brother to England for spring break. Lizzie is a little weirded out, especially because Darcy has actually started making an effort to be kinder and less antagonistic. It helps they no longer have a class together (she got a B in the class and it irks her to no end that she’s pretty sure Darcy got an A), and she’s sure G.G. has definitely told him to cool it, or however British people would phrase it.
Still, it’s weird to think Lizzie would be spending a whole week with the Darcy siblings, especially in a foreign country. She doesn’t really feel like she can say no, however, and that fact is further cemented by G.G. promising to take her to Pemberly Park, which is, in her not so humble opinion, the best public park in the entire world.
So, it’s with trepidation that she rises at 5 in the morning to meet the Darcy siblings at the closest airport. Jane kisses her on both cheeks. “Cheer up, Lizzie. You’ll have so much fun!”
“That’s what you think,” Lizzie says darkly, before taking her luggage out to the taxi that’s waiting outside.
The ride is thankfully short, but not short enough that Lizzie doesn’t doze off in the backseat of the cab, disoriented when she’s woken up by the cab driver announcing, “We’re here!”
After paying and tipping him, and making her way through security and check-in, she finds her gate with relative ease. G.G. and Darcy are already there, of course, Darcy’s knee bouncing uncharacteristically.
G.G. sees her first and waves enthusiastically. “Hey, Liz! You made it!”
“Yeah, of course,” Lizzie accepts her hug easily, “why, did you not think I was going to?”
“Oh, it wasn’t me that thought that.” G.G. sends a sly smirk to her brother, whose ears turn pink.
Lizzie rolls her eyes. “Sorry for bursting your bubble, Darcy.”
“No, that wasn’t -” Darcy sighs. “I’ll go get us coffee.”
With a roll of her eyes, Lizzie flops down next to the younger girl. “So, we’ve got about an hour before we can board. Want to watch an episode of the I.T. Crowd?”
“Ooh, that’s our favorite show!” G.G. says excitedly, pulling out her laptop and connecting it to the airport wifi. “You want to start from the beginning or skip to the parts with Noel Fielding?”
Lizzie snorts. “I should’ve guessed he was your favorite.”
G.G. waggles her eyebrows comically. “What can I say? I have a weakness for Camden goths.”
They settle into watching the show, and soon enough Darcy is joining them. He sits on the other side of G.G., but still has to lean in close to see the screen. It’s probably the closest Lizzie has ever been to him, and it makes her a little uncomfortable. Especially because he seems to be steadfastly ignoring her, keeping his eyes on the screen. It doesn’t help that they laugh at all the same parts.
Soon enough they’re on their flight, and Lizzie takes the opportunity to catch up on some well deserved rest. She drifts off, her head lolling on G.G.’s shoulder. It’s not exactly easy to fall asleep on an airplane, so there are times where she feels like she’s half-awake and half-asleep. During one of these times, when they’re two hours out of landing, she hears G.G. harshly whispering to her brother.
“- just act like a normal human being, maybe you wouldn’t be in this predicament,” G.G. scoffs.
“Oh, like that’s so easy,” Darcy retorts. “Especially when she’s so antagonistic.”
“And whose fault is that, William?” G.G. sighs. “I’m just letting you know, if you really, truly want to be friends with her, you might want to try actually being nice.”
Lizzie gets the sinking feeling this is a conversation she should definitely not be eavesdropping on, so she puts all her efforts into actually falling back asleep. It’s difficult, considering she’s pretty sure the Darcy siblings are talking about her.
It’s so hard, in fact, that she soon gives up, faking waking up with a stretch and a yawn. “What time is it?”
“11:45. We should be there around 1,” Darcy offers.
Lizzie tries to stretch, feeling a little cramped even though they sprung for business class seats. “Good. I can’t wait to be able to walk around.”
“We can take you to our favorite pub before we head home,” G.G. says with a grin, “so you can have proper fish & chips.”
“I’m at your mercy,” Lizzie jokes.
“And then tomorrow we can do all the touristy things, like the Eye and the Palace, maybe the Tower if you’re not too tired,” G.G. continues. “There’s so much to do in so little time. I wish we were staying longer than five days.”
Lizzie grins at her friend’s enthusiasm. “And what about Pemberly?”
Darcy inhales sharply. “What?”
“Pemberly? The park?” Lizzie looks at him strangely. “Please tell me you’ve heard of it.”
“Of course I’ve heard about it, our great-grandfather donated it to the city in his will.”
Lizzie gapes at him before turning to G.G., who has a sheepish grin on her face. “Uh, I plead the, um, is it the fifth?”
“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me! It’s the perfect example of Victorian values in a park.” Lizzie groans.
G.G. pats her hand. “Well, on the bright side, we’re going on the Thursday before we leave. I wanted to save the best for last.”
“I had no idea you cared that much about the park.” Darcy looks at her strangely.
“Of course I care about that park! I care about all parks, all the time.”
G.G. laughs. “You’re actually Leslie Knope, aren’t you?”
Lizzie smiles despite herself, relaxing back into her seat. “This might surprise you, but that’s not the first time I’ve heard that.”
For the rest of the flight, G.G. and Lizzie flip through the guidebook Lizzie bought, G.G. pointing out things she thinks they should do and things that are overrated. Lizzie makes mental notes, but it’s hard to concentrate when it feels like everytime she looks up, Darcy has just looked away.
Once they land, Lizzie has a little trouble orienting herself to the different country, repeating to herself over and over that the cars are on the right side of the road, and she’s not going to die a fiery death. G.G. seems to notice and is endlessly amused by it. Darcy, on the other hand, looks a little worried. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” she snaps, before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She should probably try and get along with him for G.G.’s sake. “Sorry. I’m just a little disoriented.”
“We can go straight to our home, if you’re not feeling well,” Darcy offers.”
Lizzie manages a smile. “I’m hungrier than I am tired.”
She pretends not to notice G.G. trying and failing to hide a smile.
“Oh my God.” Lizzie presses her nose against the glass, not caring about the spectacle. “It’s beautiful.”
“Isn’t it, though?” G.G. sighs as she looks out at London from their vantage point on the Eye. “Look, there’s where our home is. And we grew up over there.”
“And the palace.” Lizzie squints. “Can I see Pemberly from here?”
“It’s a bit further out,” Darcy supplies. “On the edge of the city.”
Lizzie looks at him and grins, surprising both Darcy and herself. She quickly tries to tone down her excitement. “I don’t know how you guys could ever leave.”
Darcy shrugs. “G.G. wanted to experience the States, so I followed her over.”
She frowns as she looks back out on the city skyline. “So, you changed schools for your sister? I don’t know anyone that would do that for me.” She elbows G.G. “How much did that annoy you?”
“Oh, so much,” G.G. jokes. “I can’t escape him.”
Lizzie looks back at Darcy, who has a sheepish grin on his face. “I worry.”
There’s something unfurling in her chest that feels a lot like the releasing of her grudge against him. Maybe she’s getting to meet and understand the real Darcy after all.The rest of the day is spent in a flurry of activity, G.G. dragging them across the city in an effort to fit as many things in their partial week as possible. Lizzie’s exhausted by the end of it, crashing the minute they return to the Darcy household. She has no idea how she’s going to keep up with G.G.’s youthful exuberance, but she’s damn well going to try.
When she finally wakes up, it takes her a minute to adjust to the darkness of her room. Squinting at the clock, she sees it’s roughly three in the morning. Her phone is ringing with a request for Facetime from Jane. Groaning, she rolls over and accepts it, reaching for the light.
“Lizzie? You there?” Jane’s face fills the screen, only to be pushed away by Chaz.
“Why is it so dark?” Chaz demands.
“Just give me a second, damn.” Lizzie finally manages to flip on the light switch. “There. How are you guys?”
“We were expecting you to call but you never did!” Chaz chastises. “What’ve you been up to? Getting laid?”
Lizzie chokes on nothing. “Jesus, no. I fell asleep last night the minute we got back. G.G. has like no chill when it comes to sightseeing.”
“So, what did you see? What’s it like to be alone with the Darcy siblings?”
Lizzie launches into her story, pausing at the appropriate parts to allow Jane and Chaz to ask questions. It’s four when she’s finally done, and she can feel her eyelids drooping. “So, satisfied with my answers?”
“Yeah, except one.” Chaz grins. “It seems like you’ve cooled it on the Darcy-hate. Anything special happen?” They waggle their eyebrows.
“Jesus Christ.” Lizzie tries to will her face to not flush, but she can feel it’s a losing battle. “Not anything you’re thinking, Chaz. Get your mind out the gutter.” She sighs, trying to find the words. “It’s just, seeing him outside of school. I think I understand him a little better now.”
Jane hums. “Well, that’s good. I knew he wasn’t friends with Charlie for nothing.”
Lizzie rolls her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, you were right, Jane, as per usual.”
“Lizzie, that’s not what I meant -”
“No, I know, Jane,” Lizzie reassures her. “I’m just tired. I’ll talk to you guys in a couple of days, okay?”
“Sounds good!” Chaz chirps. “Later, Liz.”
Jane blows a kiss and then disconnects, leaving Lizzie to drift off to sleep again.
Lizzie has had many dreams about Darcy over the eight months she’s known him. Many have featured her standing victorious over Darcy’s weeping body, or some variation of Lizzie beating Darcy down and proving her superiority. This dream is different, however, in that she and Darcy are doing nothing but starting at one another. Even in her dream it’s unsettling, the way Darcy’s looking at her.
She wakes up with a start, her alarm blaring right by her ear. She struggles with her covers before falling out of bed with a thump. “Goddamnit.”
“Lizzie, are you okay?” G.G. comes bursting into the room before taking in Lizzie’s disarrayed state. She laughs. “Have a hard time getting up?”
“You could say that,” Lizzie grumbles, finally managing to untangle herself from her blankets. “So, what’s on the agenda for today?”
“Shopping!” G.G. says cheerily. “I thought we should get it out of the way early, since all the museums won’t be so busy tomorrow and we’re going to Pemberly the day after.”
Lizzie gets up with a stretch. “Sounds good!”
Except it’s exhausting shopping with G.G., which Lizzie should’ve anticipated with the way the previous day had gone. G.G. wants to go into every store that looks remotely interesting, and all the music stores they pass, picking up new drumsticks and guitar picks she thinks look cool. She does also drag them into several bookstores, which Lizzie appreciates, since she can look at the nature sections.
“You really are passionate about parks, aren’t you?” Darcy muses at one such place, G.G. having run off to the biography sections, looking for a book on Keith Moon.
Lizzie side-eyes him. “I don’t know why I would lie about something like that.”
“Good point.” Darcy flushes. “I just don’t think I’ve met anyone so passionate about the parks system.”
“Well, someone’s got to be passionate about it,” Lizzie grumbles. “It’s a mess.”
“I actually don’t know that much about the States’ National Park’s system. Do you mind explaining it to me?”
It feels an awful lot like an olive branch, and so it’s with trepidation that Lizzie takes it. She carefully launches into a barebones explanation, before getting so caught up in her feelings that she finds herself gesticulating wildly and almost knocking over a bookshelf. “Shit.”
Darcy smiles and helps her straighten the shelf. “I understand why you would be passionate about something like that. It sounds like they need someone like you.”
“What, crazy and overzealous?” she jokes.
He seems to purposefully not meet her eyes. “No, intelligent and thoughtful.”
She blushes, determinedly looking away. She doesn’t quite know what to do with the compliment, so she changes the subject. “What about you? Why politics?”
“It’s the first step towards fully taking over my father’s lobbyist group.”
Her eyes widen. “You want to be a lobbyist?”
“Not the kind you’re thinking of,” he reassures her. “I want to advocate on behalf of people below the poverty line.”
“Oh.” Her head reels as she tries to reconcile this Darcy with the one she thought she knew for the past eight months. “That’s, um, noble.”
“I try,” he says, blushing.
She can’t help but find it endearing, and her heart goes oh no.
Thankfully, G.G. comes and insists they move on soon enough, and occupies enough of Lizzie’s time that she doesn’t have to think about how her feelings towards Darcy are changing rather rapidly.
All Lizzie can think about when she finally steps foot in Pemberly is that pictures really don’t do it justice. There’s a calm settling among the trees that she hasn’t experienced in a long time. A gentle breeze blows through the park, and Lizzie has to close her eyes so she doesn’t get overwhelmed.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” G.G. says, Lizzie hearing the smile in her voice.
She opens her eyes. “Yeah, it really is.”
They take their time strolling around the grounds, Lizzie occasionally pointing out features that she particularly loves, indulgent smiles on the Darcy siblings’ faces. G.G. slings her arm around Lizzie’s shoulders. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself, love.”
“Thank you, so much.” Lizzie leans her head against hers. “This is the best vacation I’ve ever taken.”
“Good!” G.G. releases her. “Now, let’s have a picnic, shall we?”
Lizzie grins as she unpacks the bag they brought, laying out the blanket the bought. Darcy manages to get the cork out of the bottle of wine, and G.G. serves them the food.
“This is a perfect day, isn’t it?” Lizzie asks between bites of her sandwich. “Like, I don’t think my life can get any better than this. I peaked at the young age of 22.”
Darcy snorts. “I doubt that very much.”
G.G. elbows her. “Yeah, Liz, you’re going to take over the world, remember?”
“True,” Lizzie sighs, “but it certainly won’t be peaceful like this.”
G.G. hums. “Well, you’ll just have to come back!”
“Any time you want,” Darcy adds quietly. “We’d always love to have you.”
Lizzie almost chokes on her food, but manages to keep a straight face. “I appreciate that, Darcy. Thanks.”
He smiles. “Anytime.”
G.G. smirks while Lizzie pretends not to see.
Lizzie really doesn’t want to leave, but she recognizes that she has to go back and finish her degree, and focus on getting her foot in the door so she can make her way up the ranks of the National Parks Service.
The plane ride is uneventful, and Lizzie says a quick goodbye to the Darcy siblings before making her way back to her apartment, looking forward to crashing in her own bed. She opens the door, however, to a shout of “Welcome back!”
Lizzie jumps a good six inches in the air, clutching her heart as she takes in the group of people gathered. “Jesus Christ you guys. You almost gave me a heart attack.”
Chaz snorts, gathering her into a hug. “Well, damn. That was the plan.”
Lizzie laughs, squeezing them. “Yeah, yeah, I missed you, too.”
“So, how was the trip?” Jane asks, dragging Lizzie into her arms.
“Yeah, Lizzie, what’d you get?” Lydia demands. “Did you get me a present?”
Lizzie rolls her eyes. “I got everyone something, don’t worry.”
Lydia and Kat cheer while Mary hugs her next. “I didn’t need anything, Lizzie.”
“I know, but I wanted to.” Lizzie smacks a kiss to the side of her head.
“Were you able to visit Darbyshire U?” Charlie hands Lizzie a drink. “That’s where Will and I transferred from.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that.” Lizzie gulps the drink down quickly. “There wasn’t really any time. We stayed in London.”
“You have to tell us everything,” Chaz demands, pushing her down onto the couch. “Come on, spill.”
With a deep sigh Lizzie launches into what she’s been doing for the last few days, earning rapt attention from Lydia and Kat, who are eager to know what shops she visited. When she mentions she spent a lot of time in bookstores, Mary leans forward excitedly and starts asking about what they looked like. Chaz and Jane, of course, look on in amusement while Charlie adds tidbits about what his home city is like.
Once everyone but Chaz and Jane have left, Lizzie falls over sideways on the couch in exhaustion. Jane kneels by her, stroking her hair. “Poor Lizzie. You must be exhausted.”
“Yeah.” Lizzie yawns. “It was a whirlwind adventure.”
“And how was Pemberly?” Chaz smirks. “Make you realize you’re in love with Darcy yet?”
Lizzie shoots up. “What the shit, Chaz.”
“You think it’s normal to stay up God knows how late researching idiotic wars just so you can argue with Darcy?” Chaz retorts. “Come on, Liz.”
Lizzie groans, falling back down. “I don’t like this.”
“Well, the sooner you get over your fears, the sooner you can make out with him.” Chaz pats her head.
Jane sighs. “Oh, let her rest, Chaz. She’s just been on an eight hour flight.”
“Fine.” Chaz gathers their things. “I’ll be over for dinner tomorrow, right?”
Lizzie waves without looking up. “Of course.”
“Love you, dears!” Chaz calls out as they shut the door behind them.
“Come on, Lizzie. Let’s get you to bed.” Jane helps her up off the couch and into her room.
“Thanks, Janie.” Lizzie’s eyelids droop. “Love you.”
“Love you, too, dear.” Jane presses a kiss to her head. “Sleep well.”
And she does. Her sleep is dreamless and restful, two things she doesn’t get very often. When she does wake up, she’s disoriented, thrown off by the darkness outside. With a groan, she sits up and rubs the sleep out of her eyes, before heading into the kitchen. By the clock on the oven, she can see it’s four in the morning.
She makes some tea for herself before heading back to her room, checking her phone as she goes. What she sees makes her almost drop her mug.
From an unknown number, she’s received almost an essay. Hi Elizabeth, it reads, it’s Will Darcy. I got your number from G.G. I hope you don’t mind. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed our trip to London together, and was happy to see my sister so happy. She doesn’t have many friends, and I know you’re important to her. You’re also important to me, even if it doesn’t sound like it. I’ve been told by multiple people that it was perhaps my fault we started off on the wrong foot, and I would very much like to correct that. If you would do me the honor of having coffee with me, I would be delighted. If not, I understand, and won’t bother you again.
Lizzie, who is an adult and in control of her emotions of course, throws her phone across the room and gulps down her tea. The thump of it hitting the wall must wake Jane, who bursts into her room, hair in disarray. “Lizzie? What’s the matter? Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Lizzie clears her throat, “yeah, I’m okay. Sorry for waking you up. Go back to sleep.”
Jane squints at her. “You look weird. What’s the matter?”
Lizzie clears her throat again. “Darcy texted me.”
Jane looks as confused as she feels. “What about?”
“He wants to get coffee.”
“Oh.” It takes a minute to sink in, but when it does, Jane’s eyes grow comically large. “Oh.”
Lizzie groans and throws herself on her bed, burying her face in her pillows. “What do I do?”
Jane sighs and sits down next to her. “Honestly, Lizzie, I can’t tell you. I don’t know.”
Lizzie looks up at her. “Yeah, me either.”
“I wonder what Chaz would say.”
Lizzie rolls her eyes, trying to imitate her best friend’s voice. “Holy shit, Liz, why are you hesitating he is exactly your type I can’t believe you.”
Jane laughs. “Yeah, probably.” She brushes Lizzie’s hair away from her face. “Why don’t you sleep on it? You don’t have to respond right now.”
“You’re right.” Lizzie yawns, closing her eyes. “As per usual.”
“Go to sleep, Lizzie.” Jane presses a kiss to her hair. “We can talk about it more in the morning.”
Jane doesn’t have to tell her twice, and soon she’s asleep once again. This time, however, she’s haunted by dreams of Darcy smiling at her. She misses the dreams she had about standing victorious over his crying body, but she knows she can’t have what she wants all the time.
When she wakes up, the first thing she checks is her phone, which is still in the corner of the room she threw it into. There are no new texts, which she is simultaneously happy and disappointed about. She enters the kitchen, intent on pouring herself a big cup of coffee, and also maybe a glass of wine.
“Good morning, starshine. The earth says hello.” Chaz grins up at her from their spot at the table. “I heard someone got texted last night.”
Lizzie sighs and gives Jane a look. Jane raises her hands. “I thought it would help to talk to Chaz.”
“Yeah.” Lizzie sits down at the table and lets her head thump against the table. “So, what do you think, Chaz? Should I fake my death and move to a non-extradition country?”
Chaz snorts. “Let me see your phone.”
Lizzie slides it across the table, Chaz unlocking it without having to ask the passcode. They hum as they read the message, brow furrowing. Lizzie sighs. “Let me guess, you think I should get coffee with him?”
“I mean, yeah, but if you’re really uncomfortable, Liz, you shouldn’t go.”
Lizzie blinks in surprise. “What?”
Chaz sighs and rolls their eyes. “I know I give you a lot of shit but this is kind of a big deal. So I’m trying to be serious here.”
“Thanks.” Lizzie leans back in her chair. “I mean, what’s the harm, right? I’m not going to be a dick to G.G. if things go south, but if they go well,” she pauses, “well, he’s not asking me to marry him.”
“True.”
Lizzie nods decisively. “Alright, hand me the phone.”
Today at 2? she types out.
Almost instantly, she receives a reply. Perfect.
The rest of the day she tries really hard not to psych herself out, but she feels like she’s failing the closer she gets to two. It gets too much to bear, so she heads over half an hour early, feeling useless sitting around her apartment.
On the way to the coffee shop they’ve decided to meet, she happens to run into Caroline, which is probably the worst omen she could imagine. Groaning internally, she tries to be polite. “Hi, Caroline.”
“Elizabeth,” she says coldly. “And where are you off to?”
Instead of snapping, Lizzie takes a deep breath. “Coffee with a friend. You?”
With a toss of her hair, Caroline answers, “I’m going to see if William Darcy wants to go on a date with me.”
Lizzie manages to not burst out laughing. “Oh yeah? How’s that going?”
“Well, he’s turned me down the last two times I’ve tried, citing his friendship with Charles as the reason, but I just spoke with Charles, and he said he was fine with it if William agrees.”
“Good luck,” Lizzie says, miraculously managing to hide a smile.
Caroline smirks. “Oh, I don’t need luck. I suppose I’ll see you around.”
“Right. See you.”
In a significantly better mood, Lizzie makes her way to the coffee shop. When she gets there, she’s only a little surprised that Darcy is already waiting for her at a booth. She shoots him a shy smile before ordering a black coffee. Once she’s been served, she slides into the booth across from him.
“Thanks for doing this,” he says earnestly. “I know you don’t like me much -”
“Darcy,” she closes her eyes and corrects herself, “Will. During our trip to London, I think I understood you better. I like you just fine.”
Something like hope shines in his eyes. “I like you just fine, too.”
Soon, they’re talking for hours, laughing and sharing stories. Lizzie is pleasantly surprised at how well they manage to get along. She almost doesn’t want the coffee date to end.
Eventually, the conversation turns to Charlie, and it gives Lizzie to ask about Caroline. “So, I ran into Caroline on the way here.”
Darcy groans. “I hope you didn’t tell her you were meeting me here, did you?”
“No, I’m not an idiot.” Lizzie laughs. “She told me she was looking for you, though. She wants to ask you out.”
“She’s already asked me out twice!” Darcy scrubs a hand over his face. “I don’t know how many more times I need to turn her down before she gets the picture.”
“She’s probably going to keep asking you until you’re married to someone, honestly.” Lizzie grins. “Poor Darcy. You’re such an eligible bachelor.”
He blanches. “Oh God, I hope not. I’m so awkward.”
“You’re doing just fine right now,” she points out.
“You’re easy to be around,” he admits quietly.
She ducks her head. “Yeah, surprisingly you are, too.”
Finally, at about six, they say goodnight and plan to get dinner in a couple of days. Lizzie is only a little disappointed that he doesn’t try to kiss her.
When she gets home, she’s all alone, and decides to try and work on her thesis.
“OH MY GOD ELIZABETH BENNET DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT GO ON A DATE WITH MY BROTHER?” G.G. bursts through the door of her apartment, panting heavily.
“How did you get in?” Lizzie can tell she’s just come from practice, a pair of drumsticks poking out of her jacket pocket. “I don’t know if I would call it a date -”
“What’s all the commotion, dear?” Mrs. B pokes her head through the still open door. “Something about a date?”
“I think you misunderstood, Mrs. B!” Lizzie manages to shut the door slowly. “No dates here!” Turning she glares at G.G. “Now my landlady is going to be creeping around trying to snoop on your brother.”
“Ha!” G.G. points at Lizzie. “So you did go on a date with Will. I knew it!”
Lizzie winces. “It was just coffee, G.G. It’s not like he proposed marriage or anything. But seriously, how did you get in?”
“Picked the lock.” She holds up her tools. “Back to the important part. You have another date set up, though, right?”
“Yeah,” Lizzie sighs, “yeah, I do.”
“I’m so excited! He’s liked you for so long.”
“I don’t know about that,” Lizzie says. “We were huge dicks to one another in class.”
“Yeah, because Will is a baby who doesn’t know how to act properly around people he likes.” G.G. rolls her eyes. “Good thing I managed to talk some sense into him.” She grins. “So, where are you going on your second date.”
“Just to that burger joint on 5th. It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Let me have this, Lizzie.” G.G. sighs and throws herself on the couch. “Just this once.”
“The things I do for you,” Lizzie jokes. “Now, teach me how to pick locks.”
"My pleasure. Just don't tell Will."
Lizzie holds up her hand with mock solemnity. "Scout's honor."
The last of the school year passes by quickly, the two months coming and going in the blink of an eye. Lizzie is frustrated both by the amount of run-ins she’s had with both Collins, G.W., and Caroline, who seem to have collectively made it their goal in life to annoy her as much as possible before she never has to see any of them.
She’s also annoyed that Darcy has made no move to kiss her even though they’ve consistently been going out on dates for the last two months.
On one particularly bad day, she slams her books down in front of Darcy where he’s studying at the coffee shop.
He looks up, surprised. “Hi, Lizzie. How are you?”
“Annoyed.” Lizzie sits down with a huff. “Caroline insinuated there are only two genders in front of Chaz, Collins tried to mansplain why National Parks should be sold off to the corporate sectors, and G.W. tried to grope my ass. Again.”
“That sounds like a terrible day, I’m sorry.” He starts gathering up his things. “Want to go get those milkshakes you love so much from the diner?”
Some of the tension leaves her shoulders. “Yes, please.”
During the walk to the diner, Will asks her how her thesis is going, and the conversation carries them through the wait line at the diner and after they order. She frowns down at the tabletop, scratching at an old stain.
“Is there anything else bothering you?” he asks concernedly. “You still look troubled.”
She sighs, looking up. “We haven’t talked about what we’re doing after graduation. Are you going? Are you staying? I don’t know.”
“Lizzie,” he slides in next to her, “of course I’m staying. G.G. will be here, and so will you.”
“If I’m so important to you why haven’t you kissed me yet,” she grumbles, being petulant.
He blushes. “I didn’t know if you’d be, well, amenable to that.”
“Of course I’d be amenable why -” but she’s cut off by the first press of his lips against hers.
It’s quick, and he pulls back, eyes searching her face, before she grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him closer.
The kiss lasts longer than Lizzie had anticipated, given that they were in a very public place. However, Darcy’s lips are so soft and gentle, she just can’t help herself.
A clearing of a throat makes them spring apart, and the amused waitress sets down their milkshakes. “Might want to save it for home, hun.”
“Yeah, of course, sorry.” Lizzie flushes. “Won’t happen again.”
Darcy flushes, too, but still holds her hand the entire time they finish their milkshakes, so she counts it as a win.
“So, what’s next for the great Lizzie Bennet?” Chaz asks, sipping their beer slowly.
Lizzie laughs. “Well, I’ve got that job lined up, but you know we’re still only going to live like a block away. And you’re graduating, too!”
“Right, and so is Jane, and Charlie, and Will.” Lydia rolls her eyes. “Rub it in why don’t you.”
Lizzie reaches over the table to pinch her cheek. “Aw, poor baby. Don’t worry, you’ll be done soon enough, and then the existential terror of graduating will take hold of you and you’ll wish you were right back here.”
Kat rolls her eyes. “Yeah, sure.”
“I, for one, am not looking forward to graduation.” Mary delicately sips at the wine in front of her. “I’m going to get my Masters and a PhD just so I don’t have to face the real world yet.”
Lizzie clinks her beer bottle against Mary’s glass. “That’s the spirit.”
“But think of the student loans,” Chaz points out.
Mary blanches. “Oh, shit.”
The group laughs, and G.G. grins at everyone gathered around. “Well, I, for one, am proud of our graduated seniors. To our friends!” She raises a glass and everyone clinks their drinks together.
“We’ll do okay,” Charlie reassures everyone.
Jane smiles. “And we’ll still be here for you all, you know that, right?”
“Oh, Janie.” G.G. throws an arm over her shoulders and smacks a kiss to her cheek. “You couldn’t get rid of us if you tried.”
“Hear, hear.” Lizzie seconds.
Darcy grins down at her. “She is the reason you’re still alive, after all.”
“Hey, just because Jane does all the cooking doesn’t mean I can’t cook, alright?”
“Sure, Liz.” Chaz rolls their eyes. “I guess we’re just supposed to all forget about the Thanksgiving fiasco of 2015.”
“What happened in 2015?” Charlie asks, looking between the girls.
Jane and Lizzie look at each other, the former laughing and the latter blushing. Mary sighs. “Well, if you’re not going to tell the story, I might as well.”
As Mary launches into telling everyone about the time Lizzie almost burned Longbourne down to the ground, Lizzie leans against Darcy and sighs. He looks down at her. “Are you alright?”
She smiles up at him. “I’m more than alright. I’m really happy.”
“Me, too.” He presses a kiss to her hair. “More than I’ve been in a long time.”
“I’m glad.”
“Hey, Lizzie, are you paying attention?” Lydia demands. “This is a story about you, after all.”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m paying attention to Mary embarrassing me.”
“Aww, we love you, Lizzie,” Kat reassures her.
Lizzie grins. “I love you guys, too. We’re a family right?”
“Cheers to that,” Charlie seconds, holding up his beer so everyone can clink their cups together again.
“We’ll be alright,” Jane says to Lizzie, squeezing her hand.
“Better than that, Janie,” Lizzie tells her. “We’ll be great.”
And she’s right.

1 PROLOGUE
Soulku and his friends finally reached the Sand town. It was the only place in the desert that was close to the ocean. They were trying to get to the city by the ocean because the houses there were cheap. They had taken a lot of money before they ran away from their homes. It had almost been six years since he and his friends ran away from their homes.
Their supplies just ran out and they had been traveling for a week. Kekko and Charlie were talking about something that Soulku could care less about, Red was just standing around looking at the sand, DJ was about to die from the heat, Asura and Geo were kicking sand around so they would not have people looking for them, and Kiri was just standing by Soulku. “We should first get some rooms and all get cleaned up. Then we will check out get supplies and head out.” said Soulku. Everyone nodded and they headed towards the town.
When they got to the town they got their hotel rooms and got all cleaned up. Then they went got enough food and water to last a month got some new clothes and since they have not been able to get any deru and are almost out, they decided to get some instruments so when they need to they can play for deru.
As Soulku and his friends walk out of the town with everyone refreshed and ready to go they leave town but then stop to see an anonymous figure everyone is ready for a fight, except for Soulku. He looks shocked, like he has seen a ghost. Kiri notices this and is puzzled. “Are you ok?” she asked. Soulku ignores her and starts walking towards the anonymous figure and says “You are Kaelyn aren’t you?” Kaelyn moves towards Soulku. “Yes little brother. Glad you look at the photos that I sent Mom and Dad.” Everyone is shocked. Soulku had never told any of his friends that he had an older brother. Kaelyn turns and starts walk down a path in the forked road. Then Kaelyn says “If you want, you “runaways” can come with me and I can show you a new life. I am one in twenty others who will help kids like you survive. So follow me to a new home or continue running for nothing. Discuss amongst yourselves and chose a path.”
2 The Mountain Of Elements
“Are we at the top yet?” Soulku yells to Kaelyn as they climb the mountain with everyone else behind them. “Almost there.” says Kaelyn.
They continue climbing for about 20 minutes and then Kaelyn says “Ok, I need everyone to close their eyes and keep them shut until I say so, and is you open them something bad will happen. I hope you all are good kids that listen when told to do something.” Everyone looks at each other and then nodded and then closed their eyes.
It took about 12 minutes but they all were told to open their eyes and they all gasped at the site they saw. They had been climbing a mountain but there was no end in sight. They were standing on a plain. That is all it was. There was grass growing from the ground but it still felt hard as stone, the clouds just went past their feet which should have made them wet but didn’t, and lastly was there was no sign of anyone ever being to the top.
“Welcome to Mount Crys. This is where you I will train the seven of you to master each and every element. Kaelyn said with his hands spread out wide with welcoming and comfort. “As I have said before I am one of twenty, who can control the different elements passed down from the ancient times of dragons. Has anyone heard of the tales of goddesses?” Soulku and Kiri’s hands go up but the others were puzzled. “As I thought. Most parents don't know any good legends to tell their kids when they are young.” Kaelyn said sarcastically.
“Anyway, in ancient times the only beings on this planet were dragons and they each had their own special power. One day the dragons each where visited by a goddess. They taught the goddesses about the special powers they had and the goddesses master the powers then left. After the goddesses were gone the dragons all went to where they had all lived at one point. Everyone arrived and started talking about what had happen to them. Only one dragon did not show. No one knows what happened to him but the legend says that he was never visited by a goddess and just left the world, but I think he was visited by a goddess but did not want to see his old friends. That is the legend of the ancient times. Now if you all will stand up for a moment.”
Kaelyn finished with his long rant started walking to his left and started to do what looked like pressing buttons of air. When he finished the plain of grass became a little village with houses for everyone, a dining hall for them to eat at, a meeting house for them to talk and hang out with each other, and where the rest of the grass was a board that said training mission and a portal of some sort, 10 different training grounds, and at last what look like a palace with a throne and a weapon rack with different types of staffs next to it.
“This is where I will train you to control the special powers that the goddesses took upon themselves.” Kaelyn says with enthusiasm. “First start by thinking about what kind of weapon and armor you would use to fight with in order to train.” Soulku and the others close their eyes and think.
Asura got to crystal arm-guards that went from his shoulder to his wrist he also got a pair of crystal wings. His weapon of choice was two crystal swords. DJ got a giant black cloak that covered his whole entire body. His weapons were a set of twenty knifes. Geo got some a cap and his shirt and shorts were almost covered in pockets. His weapons were tiny cubed bombs. He had about 200 hundred total in his pockets. Red got some gloves which were going to be his weapon. Charlie got some shades and his weapon was a hammer with wolf claws at each side of the hammer’s blunt side. Kekko became somewhat of a cyborg, only arms his changed. They became two blasters that switched into hands or blades that had arm gauges that hold a crystal and tells him how large his charge for a blast or slash. Kiri’s weapon was a bow and dagger. Her arrows had a sheath on the tips so when she fought see does not do major damage. Soulku got a big scarf that looked like bandages. His weapon was a simple great sword but it looked different from the ones they in the markets in the towns they passed through.
“Good. Now that you all are equipped put your weapon out in front of you and focus on the emptiness of the training fields. Think of what natural or super natural environment makes you feel comfortable.” Kaelyn says with encouragement. As they focus they felt some sort of energy flowing through them and when they had fully focused they was a giant boom. They opened their eyes and saw crystals float towards them. Everyone got one. Soulku had a fire red colored crystal, Charlie had an ice blue colored crystal, Geo had a muddy brown colored crystal, Kekko had a flashing lightning yellow colored crystal, DJ a dark pink colored crystal, and Kiri a shining white crystal. Red and Asura had clear colored crystal which made them confused, but Kaelyn comes in and ask “What did you guys think about?” “I thought about a cave full of crystals” said Asura. “Well I can explain your problem. You have the ability to copy your opponent’s elements. Just like the goddesses copied the dragons.” Kaelyn explained. “But what about you?” “I was thinking about different elements and them a nuke” said Red. “Well you may have the same ability as your friend here but you take them and keep them in one crystal. That is something that not even the others know about it. I will have to talk to them later but for now, all of you need to rest. You all are probably tired from making your primary crystal. Get a good night sleep and I will see you tomorrow.” Kaelyn says. He walks into the palace and then Soulku and the others head to the separate houses and find a bed, a dresser, a closet, and an mp3 walkies-talkie sort of thing with a headset. It came with a list of numbers going from one to eight and another named master. There were also some fingerless gloves with a melting kit and a note that said “You are now a guild so make a name and symbol before you leave your training. Have a nice rest. Kaelyn.” After everyone read their note they went to sleep.
3: Training Mission One, Test of Friends
Soulku woke up and looked outside. The sun was rising and then he heard a small thud. He got up, got dressed and went outside to see what the sound was. As he walked outside he saw Kaelyn putting up a piece of paper on the training board. Kaelyn sees him and says “Good morning. Go wake up your friends and eat some breakfast. I have something for you all.”
Soulku went to each house and knock on each door with a rhythmic. It was a pattern they made to wake each other when they went to hotels. This was for if there was an emergency and so they knew if one of their friends were at the door.
Everyone got up, went to the mess hall and ate some food then went to the board. When they all reached the board they started to read the paper that was put up. “This is a team mission.” said Kiri “We all can go on it together.” Kaelyn walks up and says “You all need to do this if you want to stay. This will test your teamwork and let you test your new power.” He walks over to the portal and said “If you want to go to the area where the mission will take place you need to come to this portal and when you all are ready you need to say re-on-yu. You also need the mission slip with you. This will transport you and I will see all of you and talk to you through telepathy. You will have to get through the entire dungeon to come back. If not the only other way is if things get out of hand I will step in or bring you back. Are we clear?” “Yeah” the kids said in unison. Then they walk over to the portal and they yelled Re-on-yu and were transported to the dungeon.
When they got there they all got ready for a fight and then they walked in to the temple like structure in front of them. “It’s dark in here.” said Charlie. “Well then Soulku and I will have to bring some light.” said Kekko. Soulku nodded, pulled out his crystal, and lit a fire in his palm where the crystal was. Kekko switched his hand to a sword and it light up with electricity after putting his crystal in his arm. The hallway light up and everyone was able to see each other. “Know let’s see what kind of monsters are here.” Asura said eagerly. The first monster was a slime which was expected for a monster but Asura sliced it into two and they kept on walking. Next was a pack of rats. DJ stabbed them with his knives and psychic powers. Then a Golem appeared. Soulku and Geo tagged teamed it with some bombs at his feet to flip him over and a sword slice to cut off its head. As they were leaving it DJ noticed that the Golem had dropped some items. There was gold deru and some steel that would be used for that melting kit they had at their houses. As they continued they walk into a ghost and when they meet it, it was really angry at something but before it could get close a line of light passed by all of them and hit the ghost in its head. Everyone looked back to see Kiri with her bow pointed to where the ghost was and her light crystal in the handle. “I like this thing.” Kiri said with excitement in her voice.
They continued on fighting more rats and slimes and then they reach the end. When they got there they saw a big grim reaper type thing which turned around and had a dragon skull with a dragon bone scythe. It charged at them and they all disbursed. They all look at each other and nodded and they went in for the attack. Charlie jumped hit it with his hammer which freeze it in the process, then DJ stab it in the back with all his knives, Next Kekko charged as much as he could and blasted it to where it broke to pieces but they started to reform. Geo jumped above it and dropped a circle of bombs at its feet and then exploded it but before it could fall it was immobilized by the ground under it. Red came in and started pounding it with so many punches then pulled so Asura could swoop in with his wings and slice it again. As the bones were still in the air Kiri shot all the pieces to where they were all stuck to the wall. Then Soulku rolled to where the bones where and burned them to ashes.
Once it was all over they were all panting. Using the elements they got took a lot out of them. They walked to the chest that the reaper was floating in front of. They opened it and then there was a flash of light. When the light stopped they opened there eyes to find themselves all back in there houses. It was morning again. The same time that as they had woken up as before. They got up and went to find Kaelyn. He was at the board but it had a lot more missions than when they had left. “What happened to us in that dungeon Kaelyn?” Soulku asked. “What dungeon? Today is the first day you have been here and today you start training with each other and me to control your elements.” Kaelyn responded. “But we just went to that dungeon with the rea…” Charlie began but was then interrupted by Kaelyn “I know I was joking. The chest was a transported that brought you back to this morning. Now shall we begin fighting or shall we argue about the past?” The kids looked at each other and then nodded and headed to the training course.
4: Soulku’s Quest, The Hole of Nothingness
It has been a month since Soulku and the others first came to mount Crys. They all have been training each other in order to gain more power. They all gained a new crystal. Soulku got the psychic crystal, DJ the dark crystal, Charlie the water crystal, Kiri got the fire crystal, Kekko got the wind crystal, and Geo chose the ice crystal.
They had to beat Kaelyn as a team in order to get them but it was harder than expected. After they got them they all went on separate missions. Soulku went on a mission that did not need the portal. He had to explore the mountain for monsters that may have come through the portal somehow.
He was using his psychic crystal to levitate so he did not have to walk around the whole entire mountain. He turned left and continued. As he continued he suddenly felt like a ton of pressure push against him. He thought it was a monster but as he looked around he only saw a hole that had not been there before and was pulling him. He tried to move but couldn’t. He fell into the hole. An hour later something came out of the hole. It looked like a demon that went up into then flew around. Back at the village, Kaelyn looked up at the sky as if he sensed that something had happen. He got up and walked in the direction that Soulku had flown in. When he a got to where Soulku had turn he found him lying on the ground he rushed over picked him up and teleported. When Kaelyn got back to the village he put Soulku in his bed.
Kaelyn teleported and arrived at a dark cave. “It has arrived.” Kaelyn said. “And who has it taken hold of?” a mysterious female voice asked. “My little brother, Soulku Kasai-Hono.” Kaelyn answer. “Keep a close eye on him and she will help him.” the mysterious voice said. “Yes. I will watch them both carefully. I will check in in a month.” said Kaelyn and then he teleported away.
5: Asura’s Quest, Element Madness
Asura just arrived at a canyon. He looks around and sees it is filled with crystal. The job was to fight all the elemental golems that were in the area but all he cared about was making his armor look even better but as soon as he reached for a crystal a golem rose up from one of the nearby crystal beds. It charged at Asura with a fire barrier surrounding it but Asura tapped one of the nearby blue crystals with his sword and jumped over it and sliced it with a water element sword. The golem melted after being hit. Asura figured out that using the opposite element or color would kill the golems instantly. Then a pack of blue crystal golems appeared. They surrounded Asura and charged at the same time. “Is this what I have to fight to get stronger? This is so boring.” Asura said as he flew up into the sky found a ground crystal tapped it and then sliced through the pack. “Like I said, boring. If I continue I return without even breaking a sweat.” Asura says with chuckle.
He walks down the canyon fighting the golems with no struggle at all. He reaches a cave entrance and runs in eager to see what he finds. When he walks in a golem with two different types of crystals appears in front of him. It charges at him and Asura jumps over it and tries to find the opposite of the yellow green crystal. A brown crystal would work the best but something else had to help him besides the brown crystal. He sees a yellow and brown crystal nearby taps them with his swords and runs towards the golem. “Let’s get this over with already shall we?” he screams at the golem. Asura flies to the golem and slices both of its arms off. He slices its chest and then continues to the end.
Once he reaches the deepest part of a cave a crystal dragon rises from the ground. It roars at Asura and he acts like nothing is there. “What is up with all the dragon type bosses around here; I may not know about our ancient legends but still.” Asura said shrugging his shoulder. The crystal dragon shot an electric blast at Asura but he dodged it. Asura hit a ground crystal and attacked the dragon but it was not affected by the slash. It hit Asura with his tail and slammed into the wall. “This is a good challenge for me. I am going to take your crystal skin and make my armor even stronger.” Asura said. The dragon shots a fire blast at Asura and Asura absorbs it and then cuts of one of his light blue crystals. It disintegrates. He then cuts of the rest except for one. He does the same with the rest leaving one of each color. The dragon looks weak and Asura swords are flashing with so many different colors. “It’s time to end this quest and go back to the mountain.” Asura says with confidence in his voice. He crosses his swords and expands his wings. His swords start to charge and then he files towards the dragon. “Elemental Burst.” Asura yells as he slices the dragon with a blast of elements. A huge light engulfs the cave and when it disappears the cave if shining with crystals and the only thing left of the dragon was a mound of crystals and a crystal chain necklace.
Asura picks up the remains of the dragon and finds a button. He presses it and then is teleported.
6: Kiri’s Quest, A Meeting For Goddesses
Kiri was teleported to a giant hallway. It was pure white. She traveled down the hallway knowing what was up ahead. She had taken the quest after everyone was asleep. No one had chose it that day so she took it. She finally reached a room that had one other person in it.
“Welcome back Kiri. It’s been a while sis.” one said “indeed it has been way to long goddess of electricity, LyRai.” Kiri responded. “Will you be taking me to the meeting or are we here to fight?” “What is up with that fighting attitude? You have spent too much time with those boys way to long, but you are right. We will have to fight in order for you to go to the meeting. Since you have taken the mission as a mortal you have to follow the rules of the mission.” LyRai said as she pulled out a staff. “What is your weapon this time? Do you have a staff or something else?” Kiri pulls out her bow and notches an arrow. “Does this answer your question?” Kiri asks with sarcasm. “Let’s get this over with so we can go to the meeting.”
Kiri shoots an arrow at LyRai but she hit it with a bolt of lightning. Kiri puts in her fire crystal and releases an arrow at LyRai but she hit it with another bolt of lightning. “Is this the best you can do? You know your arrows will not have any effect on me, especially your light ones. Unless you have a different material in your arrows then you are going to lose.” LyRai says. “Fine then let’s see how you handle this!” Kiri says then notches ten arrows. She shoots them at LyRai and shoots another one behind them. LyRai hits them with lightning but they didn’t disintegrate. She was hit with the barrage of arrows and was pushed to the ground.
”Be happy that they still had sheaths on them or you would have been dead.” Kiri says giving a hand to LyRai. “Your right. I forgot that goddesses can kill other goddesses or gods. Well then let’s get this meeting over with shall we sister?” LyRai said then they went down the hall where a few other goddesses were standing and talking to each other.
“Ok why are here? Who called this meeting anyway?” Kiri asked “I did” said a voice that just walked into the room. “I the goddess of light, LeRaia. We have to talk about the mission that Kiri is on.” “Why?” Kiri said “I have been watching them closely like you asked and I have been making sure that they do not follow the other path like in the past and I have been making sure no missions about that hole have showed u…” “But it has been found Kiri. Just yesterday one of your friends found it. Can you guess which one?” LeRaia said “If it was Charlie or DJ I can change them back easily, Asura and his cockiness will change him back in a day, Geo and Kekko would not be able to host the power of that thing, and Soulku is too strong to go under the influence of…” “But yet somehow it managed to take a hold of your most powerful friend. I would have to say even goddesses have the worst of fates.” LeRaia said. She started to walk towards Kiri who was completely in shock. Kiri never thought any of her friends would be taken over by such a thing, especially Soulku. “Now I will ask you this, will you continue your mission that has no hope left or will you come home to where you belong and end this silly child’s play?” LeRaia asked Kiri. But Kiri took a step back and said “No, this is not child’s play, this is life. I won’t stop, I may be the youngest goddess but that means nothing. This is my mission and I am not going to abandon the mission I was given even if it means that I will no longer be a goddess, I don’t care all I want to do is make sure that everyone in the world is safe especially my friends.” Kiri says crying. “I am going back and if any of the other goddesses want to come with me they can except for you LeRaia. You will never be accepted by the human world and your probably one o the reasons people forgot about us.” Kiri yells and then runs through one of the hallways. “Sis” LyRai said and she started to run after her.
“This is the price we have to pay as goddesses. We meet talk and one of us is always ends up crying in the end.” LeRaia says. “Meeting has ended. Go back to whatever you were doing.” All the goddesses teleported away and LeRaia walks down a hallway.
As Kiri is running down the hall she hears someone say “You must be very frustrated at your mother for saying such harsh thing about your friends” Kiri stops and turns to see who said that. It was the goddess of Luck, Fortune, Chance, Love and many other things Un-Uranai-Chansurabuhato otherwise known as Lucy. She is also the only goddess that does not come from a certain element. “Hi Aunt Lucy.” Kiri says wiping her face with her sleeve. “How have you been?” “Good thanks for asking. Now I know my sister was a little harsh back there but I have a lucky feeling that everything will turn out ok.” Lucy says. “Now cheer up and I will teleport you back to your training but I need you not to tell Soulku about his special attachment. It will harm him to know. Now let’s send you off on your way shall we?” Lucy puts her hands on Kiri’s shoulder and then she is teleported back
7: DJ’s Quest, The Shadows That Show Nothing
It was dark and nothing was visible. DJ walked around trying to find something to hold on to so he could find his way around the place. He walked for an hour then decided to sit down and hide in his cloak and think. He was trying to find his way around the place but he could not figure out a way to see his surroundings. He pulled out his crystals but he could not see them but then all of a sudden his dark crystal started glowing. He stood up and then realized that he could see his surroundings. “So this dark crystal allows me to see in the darkest of places. That is so useful.” DJ said and then continued on his way but his surroundings were just as useful as when he was walking in the dark. He was walking for an hour before he saw someone. DJ went against the wall to see who it was when he passed DJ followed him to see if he could get some answers.
After an hour of following the guy he suddenly disappeared but the there was a knife to DJ’s neck. “Who are you and why are you here?” said the man “I am DJ. I come here on a mission to find the man that lives in darkness. Would you happen to be him?” DJ asked, “Yes I am. I am the god of darkness. I must assume you are one of the trainees that are training to control the elements so that you have a purpose in life. Well you found me so what do you want?” The god of darkness asked. “I Need a name and a drop of blood from him but I did not know that you were a god.” said DJ “So your name please.” “I am the god of darkness and my name is KuroYami.” He answered. “And now a drop of your blood please.” said DJ “Sorry but I cannot do that. We gods have immortal blood so we cannot simply give you our pure blood but there is a beast in this castle that has some of my mortal blood in it. Kill it and the blood is yours.” “Thanks Mr.KuroYami. I will make sure this beast is gone for good and the blood is put to good use. See you later.” DJ said and then ran down the hallway. “He would make a good god one day if he can live long enough.” KuroYami said and then merged with the darkness.
While DJ was running down the hallway he kept on hearing a roar at the end of the hallway but as he ran the roar did not get closer. He stopped running and listens to see where the roar was coming from but when he heard it again. It was coming from the wall. He ran into the wall and was able to pass through. When he went through he was hit by a claw and was thrown to the wall. “Ow. I did not see that coming”. When DJ stood up he realized that he had lost his shadow crystal. “Out of all the times to lose my crystal.” DJ ran around the room looking for his crystal using his psychic crystal and found it after a while. When he got a hold of it and was able to see again he could not find his enemy. He looked around to find it but it had disappeared. He took a step and felt something under his foot. When he looked down there was nothing there but then was hit by something again. Well then if you are going to hide then I will do the same. DJ covered himself with is cloak and then disappeared. The enemy suddenly appeared in the center of the room and then DJ came out of nowhere and stab the beast in the head with one of his knifes and then disappeared again. DJ finally got a good look at the beast and realized it was a shadow dragon. “Well now I know where my enemy is. Lets finish this” DJ said and the appeared on the ceiling. The beast looked up. “Finale, Knives of a thousand shadows.” DJ threw his knives but the beast did not see anything but then the beast started bleeding from beneath itself and the dragon fell to its side.
DJ took one of his knives and took a blood sample. “Well that was pretty fun. Can't wait to get back and take a nap.” DJ said and then touched the dragon and was teleported away.
8: Kekko's Quest, The Best and Worst Of Life
Kekko was ready for a good fight but it turn out definitely did not turn out that way. When he got to his mission area he walked around. He had to find someone know as the Girl of Thunder and speed. He was transported to a race track and there was a storm approaching. He recognized the place he was at. It was the Rai track. Located in the town of Konorai. He went to the bleachers and sat for an hour. He waited for someone to come to the track he really wanted to fight in order to train but at the rate this quest was going he did not think that was going to happen. After another hour past he finally saw something. A flash of lightning hit the track and then there was someone there. Kekko jump from the bleachers to the tracks to see who it was.
When Kekko got there he was really surprised. The person there looked very confident in what she was going to do. She saw Kekko coming towards her and then went from one side of the track to the other. Kekko decided to pull out his lightning crystal and got a lot faster and caught up with her. “Well it looks like you got some speed but will you be able to keep up?” said the girl and then she dashed off into the distance. Kekko followed close behind her to make sure she did not do anything sneaky.
After a half hour of chasing they stopped at a hill. “Well it looks like I kept up with you. So I have a couple of questions, first of who are you and second off how are you able to control lightning?” Kekko asked. “I am LyRai, goddess of lightning” LyRai answered “and that should answer your other question too.” “Your right about that.” Kekko said. “So why were you following me?” LyRai asked “I have a mission to meet the girl of thunder and speed and I have.” Kekko said. “Now I just have to fight something and I will be on my way.” “Well that does not sound that bad. Can I come with you. You will probably need my help to find the thing you need to fight anyway.” LyRai said “You’re probably right.” Kekko said “Let's get going do you know the way?” “Of course. I know where the thing is. We were there earlier but I wanted to have some fun before I did anything.” LyRai said.
When they got back to the track Kekko was scanning the area to see where the thing he had to fight was but could not find anything. “Well where is it?” Kekko said but as he turned around he was hit by a bolt of electricity. When he looked up he saw LyRai standing next to a yellow electric dragon. “Sorry. I have to do this.”LyRai said “This is what you have to fight. When it loses it will disappear and then you will become even stronger. I hope you do well. Oh and tell Kiri I said hi will you and tell your master and leader about me and that I will be there soon. There is just one more thing I have to do. Thanks.” Then she disappeared with a flash of lightning. “Well that was one of the worst things anyone has done to me.” Kekko said “I will fight this stupid dragon and relay these messages and then train with Soulku or someone. So let's go.”
Kekko ran towards the dragon but the flashed behind him. It roared and slammed into Kekko. Kekko fell to the ground but got up and decided to go long range. He changed his hands to blasters after he put in his win crystal. He ran around the dragon shooting mini tornadoes at the dragon. It slightly dodged each one but Kekko had also put in his electric crystal and was increasing in speed. Before the dragon could realize that Kekko was increasing in speed it was too late. The dragon was stuck in a tornado. Kekko used his wind crystal to fly up towards the dragon. Kekko charged up his blasters and when he was at the same elevation as the dragon and fully charged he pointed at the dragon. “Finisher! Quadruple charged double blast!” Kekko yell and released the blast. The dragon was hit and pushed out of the tornado and then disappeared.
When Kekko landed he was teleported away
9: Geo's Quest, The Island Of Fights
Geo was ready for anything but not for an island. He could have done a volcano or tundra but an island was not his favorite place to be. It always had a little bit of ground and it was always had water around it. Geo searched the tiny island only to find that a hidden arena in the center of the island. There was one person and he look like he really wanted to fight.
“Welcome to the island of fights.” said the man “Now let's fight. I am Roy.” “Fine I just want to get this mission over with already and get off this island.” Geo said “I'm Geo.” Roy pulled out some marbles and threw them at Geo. Geo did the same with his bombs and they both exploded simultaneously. “Well this is a surprise. We have the same kind of weapons.” Roy said “This won't end until one of us run out of bombs but looking at you, you like the earth element the best, and I am an earth elemental user too so who ever throws the last bomb wins.” “Well then I will win” Geo says calmly. They threw more bombs at each other and with each explosion the center of the field got a deeper hole.
After an hour of throwing bombs they both threw a curve shot and they landed behind them and they were both thrown into the hole that the explosions in the center made. As they were falling they realized that the bottom of the hole lead to the core and that there was enough room for one person to fall through. If they were to plant a bomb to for a solid piece of land they would die from the fall. “Well it looks like a draw.” Roy said “But I will at least make sure you die first.” Roy reaches for Geo but he throws a bomb at him and pushes him down further and himself higher. Then Geo takes his ice crystal and creates thin sheets of ice to soften his fall. Geo manages to decrease his falling speed and lands on a sheet without breaking it and then starts crating another stronger level of earth but right before it could fully form around him the ice breaks from underneath. Geo grabs the edge before he could fall any further. He sees Roy throwing bombs up at him but Geo shapes some earth around his feet and started making another layer of earth.
When he was able to stand up without falling. He tried to make some stairs up to top. It took a long time but was able to make it. When he got to the top he saw Roy standing there untouched and perfectly fine. “How did you?...” Geo started “I made a shadow of me. Now you can leave good bye” Roy said. Then Geo was teleported.
10: Red and Charlie's Quest, Just Shut Up/Don't Kill Me
Red and Charlie wanted to see what this true nature quest was about so they took it together. But boy did Red and Charlie really learn something about each other. They were transported to a room full of mirrors but when they got there they could not find one another. After a minute passed they meet with each other but they somehow got behind them. But they as Red was about to say something Charlie started saying random words that did not even make a correct sentence. Charlie was about to cry cause he was so lonely but Red started to punch but Charlie dodged it. It turns out the mission had two rooms that were full of mirrors that copied people and made their true nature come out. Charlie ran around the room trying to get away from Red and the real Red was trying to keep the fake Charlie quiet. After two hours past The real Red froze the whole room out of anger and Charlie accidentally knocked out the fake charlie with his hammer. After that they were teleported to a room where they meet up and looted the chest there. Then they teleported away.
11: LyRai Joins The Training. Soulku's New Power Explained
Everyone was at the teleporter hanging out waiting for Soulku to wake up. Kaelyn explained that he had a bad mission and was very tired. Kiri looked like she was about to, Kekko was getting really impatient, Geo looked calm but a little worried, Asura and DJ looked like they felt sorry for Soulku but everyone else looked like they did not care. Five minutes later Soulku came out of his house and came to see the others at the teleporter. When he got there Kiri ran towards him giving him a big hug and bursting into tears. Kekko, Geo, Kaelyn, and Asura came running shortly after. “Finally you’re awake.” Kekko said “I got something important to say to you, Kiri, and Kaelyn.” “I do too” said Geo “Same here.” DJ said. “Well let's start from the beginning in my room shall we.” Kaelyn said
When DJ, Geo, and Kekko had finished telling their stories Kaelyn started pacing. “Well that is weird isn't it.” Kaelyn said “Kiri would you like to say something that may clarify Kekko's story.” “Well...” Kiri started “My mission was to go to a meeting.” “And who was at the meeting? Why did you choose this mission? What was the meeting about and for?” Kaelyn asked. “Well...” Kiri said “There were 10 goddesses there. I chose it because I thought it might be different from what it said. The meeting was about some weird power and I guess to warn the goddesses.” “Did you meet anyone there?” Kaelyn asked “Just the goddess of lightning and the goddess of luck.” Kiri said. “I get the feeling that you are not telling the truth but that is enough information for now.” Kaelyn said “We need to get ready for when Lady LyRai gets here. Whatever she wants won't be as good as we may think.”
After the meeting everyone got ready to fight. Weapons ready everyone refresh and energized. A few minutes after they all gathered around the teleported a bolt of lightning hit the teleporter and LyRai appeared. She looked around and saw everyone faces. She took a step forward towards Kaelyn. “Why hello there Kaelyn, I hope you have been doing well.” LyRai said “Of course Lady LyRai.” Kaelyn said “I will always be well as long as you’re alive. May lightning live on.” “I assume you are Soulku.” LyRai said pointing at Soulku “Yes ma'am” Soulku said “I am Soulku Kasai-Hono.” “I now see why my si... I mean Kiri lik... I mean wanted to be friends with you.” LyRai said looking at Kiri in the corner of her eye. “Anyway I need to talk with you and Kiri in private.” “That is if Kaelyn does not mind me interrupting your training.” “Not at all Lady LyRai.” Kaelyn said “Ok then. Lets got to my house why don't we.” LyRai said.
“So, what do you want to talk to me about.” Soulku said “Well I need to explain what happened to you on your mission.” LyRai said “And some other stuff that you definitely want to hear. To start off do you remember what happened to you when you were on that mission?” “I remember I was flying to find monsters but did not find any and that is all can remember.” Soulku said “Well that is a first. All the others forgot everything that happened that day. You are very lucky.” said LyRai. “Now to get down to what happened. You were pulled down into a hole. That hole is a hole that belongs to a demon named ArchKaisai. He takes control of his targets when they pass over him. He will not stop but it only works when he does not have host. He cannot be in two places at once. ArchKaisai is inside of you and when you die his wrath will continue. You will have to suffer with that for the rest of your life. Beware of your emotions during battle. If you don't he will take control and destroy you.” “Well, that is very depressing. Is there any way to kill him?” Soulku asked “Sadly we do not know. If we did we would have killed him a long time ago.” said LyRai “If you are able to kill him then you will probably be rewarded by the gods and goddesses with any wish you want. But not a single person has been able to kill him or fight against him for that matter.” LyRai got up and headed to the door. I am going to become a mortal within the day. I will become just like Kiri and we will probably work together. I will be watching you so do not take it the wrong way.” LyRai opened the door and walked out “See you later.”
12: LyRai and Kiri. The Unbeatable Sisters. Lucy's Nightmare
It has been two months since LyRai came to the training grounds. She and Kiri were always training with each other and were never beaten unless Soulku teamed up with Kaelyn, Asura, Geo, or Kekko. LyRai's first two elements were Lightning and Light. Within these two months lots has happened. Two new elements were added to the list to master. They were space and time. When this was announced Kiri and LyRai were very happy.
Also within these two months everyone got two new elements. Soulku can now control the elements of fire, psychic, light, and time. Kekko has electricity, wind, metal, and time. Geo controls earth, ice, psychic, and time. DJ uses psychic, darkness, water, and space. Charlie protects himself with ice, water, earth, and space. Kiri controls light, fire, electricity and time. LyRai can control light, electricity, fire, and time
LyRai and Kiri were always so happy to do missions with each other. One day they found a mission that said to meet the woman of time and luck. When they saw this they took it immediately and went to the teleporter. When they where teleported to the place it was the same place Kiri was at in her previous mission. They run down the hallway until they finally find Lucy. “Aunt Lucy” LyRai and Kiri say simultaneously. “Hello LyRai and Kiri. How have you been?” Lucy asked “We got your message” Kiri said. Lucy expression went from happy to deep stress. “Oh, Ok” Lucy said “Well I guess I should tell you what has happened. You probably already know part of the story but you do not know what it means” “You finally got an element of your own. That is the best thing I can think of.” LyRai said “Yes but if it happens while you’re a goddess you will die and be replaced.” Lucy said. Kiri and LyRai looked shocked “What kind of rule is that?” Kiri asked. “Why haven't we heard of this before?” “Because it was made two months ago.” Lucy said “Who would make such a rule and what for?” LyRai asked. “For when gods and goddesses learn too much information” Lucy said “If I want to live I must become a mortal mother of some goddess who have abandoned their godly duties. That is why I sent the mission with such vague detail. I wanted you two to come so you would except my offer.” “Of course. We prefer you more of a mother than that filthy witch we have now.” Kiri said “She probably the one who made the rule anyway.” “Anyway I am going to announce that I am retiring so I hope to see you all soon. Now go back to your training.” Lucy said and then teleported them away. “I hope this is does not go exactly like that nightmare.” Lucy said and then walks away.
Lucy was walking down the hallway and then stopped. “What do you want older brother?” Lucy said. “Nothing just seeing which top she is going to announce to? Me or my twin sister?” KuroYami said while emerging from the shadows. “You should know who I am going to.” Lucy said “You know it would be safer if you come to me and announce it instead of her right?” KuroYami said “Yes but I have enough hope that I will be ok.” Lucy said “Well I can't said I didn't warn you.” KuroYami said “Good luck.” He said as he merged into the darkness. “I am luck.” Lucy said with confidence and she continued down the hallway.
At the end of the hallway was a room and the only one who was there was LeRaia. “I assume you came to announce that you are retiring?” LeRaia asked “Yes Lady LeRaia. I am as of now...” Lucy started but then dodged an arrow “I will not let you finish that sentence.” LeRaia said readying another arrow. “Well then I will have to start a different one.” Lucy said. “I Un-Uranai-Chansurabuhato, goddess of...” Lucy started but then dodged a volley of arrows. “ Luck, Fortune, Chance, Love and many other things, am resigning from my...” Lucy continued while dodging many volleys of arrows. “Post as a Goddess!” Lucy finishes and starts to be teleported away but before she could fully disappear She was hit by a poison arrow that just missed her heart but hit a blood vessel that led right to it. “Good luck surviving.” LeRaia said “I...” Lucy says but then coughs up blood. “Am luck.” Lucy said and then was teleported to the training grounds.
13: The Home Of Time. The Last Sight For A Goddess Of Luck
Kiri and LyRai got back and told Kaelyn and Soulku about what had just happened. The four them waited for the goddess of time but was very shocked when she got there. “Mother Lucy!” Kiri and LyRai said running towards their new mother. “What happened Lady of time?” Kaelyn asked “Nothing. I just accidentally got hit.” Lucy said “Soulku go to the mission board and watch carefully. There should be a mission appearing any moment.” Kaelyn said “It will say something about the time realm. Got it?” “Yes.” Soulku said already running towards the board. “We will have to take her to the time realm. When Soulku comes back I will make sure we will be able to go to and from freely for as long as we need to.” Kaelyn said “Get her to her feet and carry her.” “Yes sir.” LyRai and Kiri said.
Once they had lifted Lucy up, Soulku had gotten back with a mission that said save the time. “All right Let's get this thing fixed.” Kaelyn said “Re-On-Re-Yu!” Kaelyn yelled and then the five were transported away. The time realm was a dark blue with little clocks appearing every hour. “Now I need Kiri and LyRai to follow time back to when they left Lady Time and follow her carefully in the time realm and then break through and stop the person who tried to kill her. Soulku I need you to stay here in case I need your help with poison. Got it?” Kaelyn said “Yes sir.” They said and then Kiri and LyRai went off to follow Lucy's past.
They got to where they left Lucy and then they followed her in the time realm to see who tried to kill her. When they see KuroYami they freak out. The god of darkness is not supposed to be in the House of Light? They both draw there bows and are ready to shoot him but then he fades away and then they calm down and continue to follow Lucy. When they see her reach the room with LeRaia they freak out even more than before. She is the only goddess who uses a bow. All goddesses are supposed to use staffs when they fighting unless you are one of the top two goddesses or have resigned from being a goddess. They watch the fight between Lucy and LeRaia and are both ready to shoot LeRaia. They break through right before Lucy could finish her sentence and when she does they release their arrows towards LeRaia but they are both hit by arrows in the same place as Lucy and their arrows are nowhere to be seen. Kiri and LyRai both fall back but before they can hit the ground they are sent back to the present and then they both start coughing up blood. “This is bad. I knew something like this might happen but not like this.” Kaelyn said. “Soulku go into a deeper part of time and follow Kiri's past. I want you to stop this. But whatever you do do not use unnecessary force. Just make sure no one dies. And definitely do not go on a rampage. If Arch...” “I know. I got it. I will be back before anyone can die.” Soulku said interrupting Kaelyn. Then he started running off following a past he really wanted to know more about.
He went back to Kiri's first quest. He saw what had really happened and understood everything. Then he went to her third quest to follow and see how he could save the girls and lady. When he saw KuroYami he didn't bother drawing his weapon. He could tell he did not do it. But when he saw LeRaia something inside him twitched. It was probably ArchKaisai but he did not want to get him involved into this. This was his problem to handle. Soulku drew his sword and split it into two. Also making him have his sword staff, double sided sword, and a regular sword. He waited for the right moment to breakthrough and when he saw the girls breakthrough he did the same throwing his swords deflecting all the arrows. Then he sense something coming towards him but before he could react ArchKaisai took over breaking the arrow with his tail. Once that arrow was broken everyone in the room had disappeared. When he looked up he saw LeRaia floating above him ready to shoot. “Look at what we got here.” ArchKaisai said “I was wondering when I would get a chance to fight the goddess of light. This will be the best day ever.” “Silence beast!” LeRaia yells “You have no right to be here. I am going to dispose of you even if it means I have to kill that boy in the process.” “Wow. I never realized how scary the amazing goddess of light could be.” ArchKaisai said sarcastically “Well you know well enough that you can't kill me. I bet you don't even know why. Let me tell you. I fused with a dragon long ago. That dragon was very strong and you should know that dragons can't die unless another dragon kills him. But you should also know that I am also a demon so the only way to kill a demon is with an arrow of light. So you goddesses have never been smart enough to stop me and know I get the chance to kill their leader. This must be one of my luckiest days.” “I will say it once more. Silence!” LeRaia yells. “I could kill you right now if I wanted to. You must be well aware that we keep dragons as pets. We will not hesitate to release one to hunt you down and kill you.”
“Yes but what about that light arrow?” ArchKaisai said. “You either have to pummel me with arrows and let your dragon rip me apart or make your dragon hold me down and kill me with one of you arrows before I throw that dragon around the room. So what are you going to do about it?” “You are going to die now!” LeRaia yells then a dragon attacks ArchKaisai from behind. “Well that was impressive. I never knew that you were able to mask the smell of a dragon.” ArchKaisai said “But how are going to shoot something that is not even here?” ArchKaisai said and then merges with the light. “I will be back for you. If any of the goddesses are to die, it will be you. Lot of people I know really hate you and they are humans. I hope to see you again LeRaia.” Then the voice and presences of Soulku and ArchKaisai disappeared. “I will kill that thing if it is the last thing I do.” LeRaia said. And then she disappeared from the room.
14: The Truth of ArchKaisai Revealed. Good-bye My Friends
Back at the time realm everyone is up waiting for Soulku to come back. When he does there is a flash of light and they are all transported to the mountain. “Well that was a close one.” Soulku said. “We all should rest and everyone come to a meeting tomorrow at noon.” “That sounds like a good idea.” Kaelyn said “We will meet at the dining hall. Miss Lucy if you want there is an extra room in my place. I suggest you go there and rest. I will be up late so just clap twice and the lights will go off. Ok?” “Yes sir. Thank you.” Lucy said and then she walks towards the palace. “Now the rest of you go to your own beds Ok. We will discuss everything tomorrow.” Kaelyn said “Yes Sir” Soulku, Kiri, LyRai said in unison and then they got to their houses and sleep.
Everyone got up and meet at the dining hall. Kaelyn announced that Lucy was going to stay with them and that she will help with the training. But also at the same time Red and Charlie say that they are leaving the mountain and the training because Charlie hated dragons and was too scared to do anything and Red was sick and tired of not being able to learn new elements. “But why is that a problem Red? You keep the elements you copy unlike Asura who has to switch and can only have the same amount of elements as crystals on his sword or shoulder.” Soulku said “But I will never be able to master all the elements and get my nuke power at this rate.” Red said “OK fine have I your way. But at least let us all have one last good fight agreed?” “Yeah” everyone agreed “But you can only use one or two elements so choose carefully.” Soulku said “LyRai and I are using fire and lightning.” Kiri said “I will use just earth” Geo said “psychic and darkness for me.” DJ said “I use my ice crystal.” Charlie said weakly “I will use lightning and that is it.” Kekko said “Then I will use fire and psychic. Ok then let’s have one last fight.” Soulku said
They all went to an open field and were ready to fight.
