i'm so sorry for the lack of activity, i cannot focus for the life of me. i think my anxiety is spiking because the reality of not having a job since entering my field is ! hitting me ! & i keep being mean to myself. like i'm not feeling like myself today, so i know i'm not very fun to be around. lots & lots of feelings.

Hey guys, I know its been a fat minute since I've posted and there's a couple reasons for that. For one, I lost my job (completely unrelated to COVID-19) and it has devastated me. That was also part of my reason for actually putting on makeup every day. Anyways, I've been really upset about it and thanks to both COVID-19 and me being 6 months pregnant, its super hard to find a job so I just really haven't felt up to doing my makeup. Second reason is I've been giving my skin a break. With this pregnancy, my face has broken out with every product that has touched it so cutting back was going to happen anyways. And my final reason is my town is still on quarantine and I have nowhere to go therefore I really don't have a reason to wear makeup. Anyways, that's not what this post is about but I thought I'd clear that up just in case anyone missed me.

Alright, time to get what this post is ACTUALLY about started. Y'all know I stan Jeffree ever since my scenie weenie days(REMINDER: this is a makeup blog not a drama blog so any opinions you may have that are NOT about makeup please feel free to post them on your own blog, not mine. Thanks). I also am a fan of darker alternative and goth aesthetic so when Jeffree said he was making a goth pallet, to say I was excited is an understatement. So here's MY opinion on everything from the packaging to the name. Let's get started.

What I expected:

When Jeffree said goth pallet, I won't lie. This isn't what I expected. I pictured a DARK pallet. I'm talking ouija board or coffin or covered in spiders and bats or even some black and red roses for the packaging. For the colors, I pictured deep reds, purples, blues and greens. I was close on the name though. I swore up and down he was going to name it Deceased, but Cremated definitely fits THIS pallet better.

The packaging:

Like I said, the packaging wasn't what I expected but I'm not mad at it. The white marble is cute and the pic of Jeffree on the pallet itself? I'm living for it(ironic huh?) As soon as I saw it though, I already knew it wasn't going to be what I pictured and immediately expected something more simple.

The name:

Y'all, why are we getting offended over a name? I've seen so many people calling it "insensitive" and "inappropriate" then seen the same people use the phrase "lmao I'm dying." Like, really? Can you say hypocrite? First of all, he said himself, he named the pallet way before all of this Covid bullshit. Second of all, it's supposed to be a goth pallet. Goth culture has a fascination with death, the name is perfect.

The colors:

Like I said, not what I expected, nonetheless beautiful. I'm super stoked to try those metallics. I'm a sucker for a good smokey eye so I'll definitely be purchasing this pallet. Now, would I have called it a goth pallet? No, I would have called it a smokey pallet but I see where he was trying to go with it. I think he could have gone a whole different direction but I like the colors.

Overall, I like the pallet. I'll be buying it for sure. Is it my favorite? No, but I'm definitely not hating it. Let me know what you guys think. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy out there.
