-Well that's how he felt before he met you.

-Once meeting you, he found himself feeling conflicted, having thoughts and feelings about you that he'd usually have for women.

-Trying to pass this off as admiration because you're a cool dude, he would often tell himself that it was wrong for him to see you that way, that you're just a bro and nothing more, that he just looks up to you.

-At first it wasn't so bad, just the average thoughts of

'Holy shit this guy is so cool'

Which eventually led up to him wondering what it would be like to hold your hand at times

-You could suspect that something was up with him due to the way he'd act around you no matter how hard he tried to keep up this whole "oh I love women I'm a tough guy" act

-If you play any sort of sports with him chances are after you're done with practice he'll come up to you and congratulate you in the..oddest way

'Hell yeah man you looked good on that field..I mean like you played..you..I don't mean that in a..you did good man.'

-In the locker rooms he'd subtly not so subtly eye you as you changed, if you or anyone caught his wondering eye he'd say he was just trying to compare your muscles to his and then start flexing and bragging about how his build is wayy better than yours to throw people off

-See with Mike he wouldn't be totally upfront with his feelings, I mean after he realizes that he likes you he's constantly fighting with himself.

-He's always liked and dated girls. He shouldn't have these feelings for you. I mean, what if people found out he liked a guy.. What if YOU found out? What would people think of him then

-In his mind, people would shun him. He wouldn't be the class president anymore or have that high pedestal he was put on

-He's scared of his feelings, but that's something he'd never ever admit.

-Him? Scared? Pffftt you gotta be joking!

-In all seriousness he'd never be willing to tell you he liked you, too scared of what others would think, too scared of coming to terms that he liked a man

-He'd keep his feelings to himself, going out one night to party and get with a few different girls just to keep his mind off of you but no matter how hard he tried, you didn't leave his mind

-Eventually, one night, he got a little too drunk off his ass and made his way over to your dorm at the ripe time of 4am

-After a few minutes of banging on the door and inaudible drunken mumbles you opened the door, clearly just woken up

-Sober Mike wouldn't do this, he wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for the alcohol giving him courage. Once he laid his eyes on you his lips formed into a smirk as he leaned in the doorway almost slumped down fully

-After a few drunken chuckles and nonsensical mumbling he'd eventually be straightforward.

'Look *hic* look man not in a *hic* weird way, and you have to be totally cool about *hic* this! I fucking like you man like..like how I do women and *hic* I.."

-Mike would start to cry. Cry because he was starting to realize in his drunken state what he was doing. That he was standing at the doorway of your dorm, drunkenly confessing his feelings for you just because he felt a little confidence boost from the alcohol that he chugged down earlier that night

-As you went to console him, you put your hand onto his shoulder. He flinched away from your touch before semi aggressively wiping his face

-In his mind it was like a battlefield with himself. With who he was. With his feelings

-When you offered to let him stay the night..or well actually insisted he stayed, he was hesitant but knew that he would crash at any moment so he let you guide him inside and onto your bed

-It took him a little to get adjusted but once he did he crashed, falling asleep in your bed, snoring heavily as he tangled himself up in your sheets

-It really was a sight, seeing mike wrapped up in your blankets, in your bed, in your dorm. Truth be told you've been crushing on him for a while now, falling in love since you first laid your eyes on him but he didn't entirely seem like he was into you..

-As mike snored loudly as you made your bed on the floor out of some clothes and a thin blanket you had laying around, you didn't mind, honestly!

-As you stayed staring at the ceiling you listened to mike snore, thinking about his words..he liked you huh? You smiled to yourself as you slowly began to fall out of consciousness, eventually falling asleep

-The next morning after you both woke up, he'd thank you for letting him crash in your dorm and ask if he did anything regrettable last night

-Once you took a moment to tell him what he said in the most calm way ever you could tell he was panicking

-He stood up from your bed, his breathing picking up noticeably. shame, fear, and something else you couldn't quite read showed from him

-After trying to apologize in a very poor way, to his surprise you were okay with it, doing your best to calm him as you stood up and walked closer to him

-Not sure of what to do he'd run his hands through his his before shaking his head

'Fuck..listen I was drunk last night. You gotta believe me! Please don't tell anyone about this man I was just wasted and you know how it is when people party like that!'

-After you shrugged it off saying it was okay, he felt sort of..calm..

-He'd awkwardly say he had to go and make his way to the door, you following behind. As he was about to leave he turned on his heel to face you awkwardly putting his fist out for a fist bump as one final 'thanks'

'Thanks again man, I'll uh,, see you at practice, yeah?'

'Yeah. Yeah sure thing mike..hey just know if you ever feel curious or something like that you know where to find me'

-He'd awkwardly chuckle before leaving your dorm and making his way down the hall, the thought of what you said crossed his mind

-He wasn't sure what this meant for him but he wasn't totally opposed to the offer..

rahu is 100% a menace about it once they become chill about it, and totally messes with reader's son (henceforth known as RS) in class. like once class is over she'll call him before he exits out the door and says "wear something nice. i'm taking you and your mom out for dinner" and all his friends just go ooooh and he gets red in the face and storms off. (he makes sure to wear a nice shirt and slacks that evening nonetheless.)

OR rahu will do the classic "what would your mom think" if he slacks off and he is this 🤏 close to throttling her—

RS could be playing video games in his room with his friends in VC and maybe he's swearing a little too loudly so rahu pops in to tell him to tone it down a little, but makes sure to time it exactly when he says one very specific curse—

"oh, you motherfucker!"

"you called?"

"FUCK—"

sometimes rahu will text RS asking what is reader's favorite thing because she wants to get reader a gift or something at RS is like "fuck that i'm coming with you to buy it" and the shopping trip turns into a sweet little bonding moment between them both. RS does strong arm rahu into getting him fast food on the way back though.

RS indulges all of rahu's questions about reader, even if he is a little prickly about it, because he's secretly really, really glad someone is taking his mother's happiness seriously.

RS gets blackout drunk at a party once and his friends, knowing the TA is kinda-sorta technically his unofficial guardian for now call her up and ask her to help him back home, so she pulls up to the party and pulls his arm over his shoulder to help him to her car. she sets him in the passenger seat and he mumbles "thanks, dad" accidentally. rahu doesn't tell him about it the next morning but internally she's happy he sees her as someone worthy of being a father figure.

I hope you don't mind me publishing it anyway just because it's a good opportunity to elaborate on a few rather fanwanky feelings in one brief-ish statement.

I don't really care if people vague me and I think people who don't like being vagued are valid, but people who don't like being vagued, whine about it, and then continue to vague others are, understandably, idiots making the situation worse. Most people who had issues with being vagued re: the above simply stopped writing meta, which is why there's not much of it. Also a lot of what people call vaguing is just meta that disagrees with theirs, to be honest. I mean I do vague, a lot, and I'm very good at it, but I've also written 100% good faith meta about things I was thinking about the narrative without consideration of other peoples' opinions and it was called vaguing because I used aggressive tactics like citing my sources.

I've covered the fact that Imogen was actually treated very similarly to Caleb with the key difference that people who wrote meta about Caleb were treated badly by his haters, whereas people who wrote meta about Imogen were treated badly by her then-supporters who are now mostly defending Ashton and Dorian because Imogen started saying things they don't like and don't want to address. I just want to reiterate that if someone ever says that The Male Characters Played By White Actors Never Receive Hate you should just block them and stop taking them seriously. The hate is obviously not motivated by bigotry against real people, typically (though some criticism of Veth was certainly misogynistic even though Sam is a man, for example) but they still did receive pretty intense hate. It is kind of telling, personally, re a certain lack of backbone that people will bring up the horrible things people said about Liam or Travis or Taliesin in their own defense and then turn around and willingly engage with the people making these accusations they clearly know to be false, but you know. Unsurprising.

I tried to write something longer that really dug into the outline of events but it really comes down to this: a lot of the direct harassment (not vagueing) of meta writers, especially with regards to Imogen or Laudna, occurred during episodes like...20-50 of this campaign, and I think those doing the harassment either thought this would somehow make meta writers go "oh my god you're so right about the thing that you said I should die for not agreeing with, I'm going to write meta for you now" or that this would shut them down but wouldn't make other meta writers say "oh this environment has become hostile", which obviously it would. Coupled with the fact that this is when a lot of meta writers realized the campaign pacing was fucked and the party wasn't clicking in the same way past ones had and it really turned into a case of high risk of unpleasantness for a not really worth it reward for many of the meta writers who were around in earlier campaigns, and that in TURN meant that it's harder to have a good conversation without having existing chats so it's a less pleasant place for new fans. Anyway uh. I think the lesson here is that those C2 meta writers ARE around for Midst and Candela Obscura so it's also kind of a waiting game in the event that there is a future campaign (and if not, they will still be here for Midst/Candela/Possibly Daggerheart or future EXUs); they're just not here to write about Imogen or Laudna because it's not worth the trouble.

Because, yeah, even though me and another anon were joking about Yona being a beard, they were just that: jokes. Some people out there are legitimately trying to cry homophobia because of her introduction and it's just, like I said, Sidon is a Prince (well, now a King but whatever), he is Dorephan's ONLY HEIR because Mipha DIED, he has to get married in order to keep the bloodline going. This isn't hard to understand.

But, also, I want to take a moment to point out the obnoxious level of 'this character is X and if you don't agree you're a bigot' as well as 'why do the alphabet-soup people ALWAYS have to make characters gay or trans?!'

Because I know where the upsurge in all of this came from: that interview that Aonuma gave where he was talking about 'oh, we always develop games with Link being more nonconforming to gender'.

And, of course, that should be taken as Link is more of a slate for the player to project themselves onto, no matter what gender or sexual-orientation, to create a more immersive experience.

But then we ended up with people going 'So, Link is trans then? It's canon, suck it homophobes!' And then legitimate edgelords going 'Link can't be a tranny, stop projecting onto everything!' And then there's that back and forth while rational people in the middle are just trying to live and vibe with 'In my headcanon, Link is a GNC man and Sidon has two hands and I'm happy and not bothering anyone'

So there's what was mentioned above and that animosity leaches over to conversations about Yona (people on both sides thinking that the only reason she's disliked is shipping)

Anyway, I'm just going to stay in my corner, enjoy this game at my slow-to-medium pace... And brace myself for the 'jealous wife'/'fujoshi wife' fics that will inevitably fill up the SidLink tag on AO3 because people forget that polyamory is a thing.

And to add a little more, Kris is definitely not meant to be up to the player's interpretation, but Chara and Frisk seem debatable to me. First of all, you can literally NAME Chara whatever you want and they just roll with it. I'm more than fine with using They/Them pronouns for C and F but it's very debatable considering Chara's name and etc. “"Chara" is likely short for "Character," as all internal references of either Frisk (mainchara) or Chara (truechara) use "chara."The official Japanese translation of the game translates Chara's name as "キャラ Kyara". This matches the katakana for the English word "character".” Not to mention Toby's tweet where someone asked him what to name the the first human (Chara) he said “Your own name if you can't think of anything else.” (Again, also on Chara's official wiki).

Not to mention there's literally a Canon sprite model with NORMAL darker skin for Chara, but for some reason, it never made it into the game. (You can check that out on Chara's official wiki and yes all of everything I listed have real sources and aren't just some words written on a wiki).

As for Frisk, a concept for them that was dropped in a Undertale/Earthbound joke thread (by Toby) showing the old (not a joke) Undertale file, Frisk was said to be (by Toby) an androgynous child. Androgynous as in (from what I know) “has the characteristics of both female and male” or “being neither distinguishably masculine nor feminine, as in dress, appearance, or behavior” which feels kinda distinctively “it's up to you” kinda choice to me. (You can find that thread out on Frisk's official wiki they have a real source there too) so from this viewpoint we can't entirely say Frisk is non-binary, considering Toby hasn't done confirmed anything like that for Frisk ever since.

For Kris, is it blatantly obvious that their gender/look is not up to player interpretation. Like it's stupidly obvious. For Frisk and Chara it's very confusing and I'd say up to debate. The only thing that's not confusing or debatable about all three of them is that they're kids.

I played mcsm when I was a very small child when it was still being released and when they released episode four and i finished it, it felt,, complete?? And then they said "hey, we're actually adding three more episodes" and as someone who had bought the season pass to this game so I wouldn't have to buy anything later I was. Pissed. Like it definitely felt like they ran out of content and realized they couldn't go on for five episodes so they decided to just make another four episode arc because of the fact that they already sold season passes. I never bought the other three episodes or played the next one <3 I was simply too bitter, even as a grade/middle schooler (I have zero concept of time, when did this game come out??)

Yes okay, so.... that's another thing about mcsm. You're right, the first storyline finishes in four episodes, but then the other four have an overarching story but with a different focus per episode. That would be fine except it's not done well. The episodes are short, the plot is uncreative and predictable, the characters are one-note, and it's childish humor is awkward and poorly delivered.

I think the only joke that I kinda liked? that I remember? is how Axel kept falling on Lukas... and that's not really a joke, just a running gag in one episode.

Like.... it's so bleh. ha ha, get it? the bomb they found is called an f-bomb.... do you get it? because Fuck. They can't say fuck. So... so it's f-bomb. Do you get it?

I get it, it's targeted at a younger audience. That's fine, I don't have a problem with that. One of my favorite games of all time is King's Quest and that has the same E rating at mcsm. Like you said, you played it when you were a very small child. When I streamed it, a lot of chat said they played it when they were younger, too.

I think what gets me is that it feels so hand-holdy, y'know? Like it's afraid to scare off it's younger audience so they play everything way too safe. And when they do kill characters off or something bad happens, it doesn't feel impactful because you're not invested, you're bored and wishing you could just play the original minecraft.

And the one death that DID make me feel something? They completely OBLITERATED the execution of it because "lol this happens in the real minecraft"........ and yes, I'm talking about Rueden turning into a hunk of meat after dying. YOU RUINED THE ONE GOOD THING. YOU HAD IT. YOU HAD ME. I FELT SOMETHING AND THEN POOF. YOU EXPECT ME TO TAKE ANYTHING YOU DO SERIOUSLY AFTER THAT?

Anyway.... I agree, it felt like they couldn't think of a five episode story arc, but then they also wanted to do eight episodes for some fucking reason, so we get a bunch bullshit.

And here's the thing... I think a game set in a minecraft world could work. It's aesthetic isn't personally my thing but if I'm invested in the story and characters then I can overlook that.

Some of ideas presented are good. I mentioned this before, but the murder mystery episode where a bunch of youtubers I don't care about make cameos is probably the best episode in the season. The idea is fun, whodunit's are great.

The episode with PAMA started out interesting with a village of creepy people with something stuck to the back of their heads wandering around under some mine control.... but then it just turns into baby's first sci-fi where computer bad.

The gladiator's games episode should've been the most compelling of them all because it's a fucking tournament where people are stuck and forced to compete for freedom but noooooo, it's boring and I just want to be done and go home.

Ugh.... you didn't miss out on too much by not playing the other episodes, anon. Oh, and to answer your question, mcsm came out in 2015....wow.

i used to be one of the people who‘d just do motherlode motherlode motherlode and just... what did i do? Why did i do that??? But not anymore lol. Ichidai San vs Seidou: Koshien Aftereffects

I've officially watched the Ichidai San vs Seidou match for the fourth time last night. My adrenaline was so high, I couldn't sleep until 3am that I ended up wanting to unleash all these feelings for this show.

Daiya, Act II ep 13

And I kid you not. I'm writing 'bout everyone in Seidou.

Coach Kataoka & Ochiai

Let's start with Boss. I'd like to reiterate that he always had high hopes for Eijun.

Daiya, Act I ep 5

He placed Eijun in the first string even when the boy was still shit with his form, his control, and zero baseball knowledge. Even Osaka Kiryuu's coach implied that it's actually Eijun who is Kataoka's secret weapon.

I remember him even letting Eijun pitch against Raichi during the batter's next at-bat against Eijun. That was cleary a sign that he was starting to trust Eijun. But clearly Eijun wasn't still good enough back then. Kataoka knew of Eijun's potential, it's just that he didn't expect him to grow soooo fast. Eijun was bound to get there someday, but not this soon. However, seeing Furuya's pitching in Koshien, he too was blinded by it since he was desperate for a real ace with an impact. Of course you'd wanna parade your pitcher like that. This is where Ochiai enters the picture. (If you've ever felt personally victimized by Ochiai, please raise your hand! ✋) Kidding. Ochiai was shit during his introduction. It took a long time to warm up to him, but he was an essential addition to the coaching staff. Kataoka, although tough is more of a feeling kind of coach. While Ochiai takes information at face value. Clearly in the Ichidai game, Ochiai was the one who was practical even suggesting that Eijun's pitching is more effective (even though he likes Furuya as a pitcher more). Kataoka was blind, and it was glaring. Why? You see the other teams were watching. And every single coach of the teams Seidou played against with is wary of Sawamura- even Inashiro's Coach Kunitomo. Eijun is the kid who rallied Seidou to one out away into reaching Summer Koshien- during his first freaking year.

This is why I really like it when Ochiai said Kataoka is human afterall. I guess Kataoka also has some growing up to do.

I'd like to add that these two coaches were blinded by the Koshien performance that they didn't even notice that Furuya's form was crumbling. Quoting these reddit posts, the coaching staff was purely after results. If it's not broken, don't try to fix it. We all gotta say thank you to baseball jesus, Chris-senpai, for we won't be having this problem with Eijun.

Furuya

Contrary to people saying Furuya became selfish, I feel like he actually knew what his role is and the expectations from him. He never once lost the goal to win Nationals. It's just that, he didn't know how to actually do it. He was chasing his best performance. He didn't want to be Japan's #1 pitcher for the title you know. He wanted to be the top pitcher to bring his team to the top.

Let's accept it. Despite being a monster rookie, he shouldered the ace number prematurely. Of course the weight of it would one day catch up to him. This is why the phrase 'There are no shortcuts.' keeps being reiterated in the story. I felt bad for Furuya so much. This phase of his baseball life is pretty parallel to Eijun's yips arc.

Eijun

How do I even start with our ball of sunshine? He really puts relief in 'relief pitching'. Such a refreshing player. Woah, like Sanada Shunpei. Yes we know that an ace carries the whole team, we know that an ace saves the team during a pinch, and an ace uplifts the overall mood. Already sounds like Eijun right? We know the role of an ace and how an ace should perform towards the team. What the Ichidai San match highlighted is how a team, in response, acts towards the ace. Trust. It really slapped me in the face the same way it frustrated Eijun. The extreme difference in trust given to an ace versus a relief pitcher.

This was the turning point for Eijun. Probably why I love rewatching it despite the angst. (For a more painful experience, try rewatching the episode before the Ichidai San match 🤭🔪🦝) Anyway, during that scene where Kataoka was dumbstruck with Eijun's top tier pitching I kept remembering that one quote from HQ by the U19 coach--

"We don't look for them, but that doesn't matter. They come to us with solid, undeniable strength and they make us choose them."

Literally screams SAWAMURA EIJUN!!!

Miyuki Kazuya

Where should I stab him? (Ya'll stop taking me seriously when I say stab okay?) I've been saying this all the time but our personality is the same. It's nasty. I love him and hate him at the same time okay?

Anyway, I hope we're all aware and agree that Miyuki also saw Eijun's potential from day 1. Sakuhin shit right there. Miyuki likes interesting people or happenings. This guy played catch with noob Eijun during his day-off! Offered, in fact. (Act 1, ep 5 during that intra squad game of 2nd/3rd yrs vs 1st yrs).

May I also add! Chris didn't like Eijun in the beginning. It was Miyuki who ended up covincing Chris to look at Eijun clearly and say "to a catcher, he's the most interesting kind of pitcher". However, this boy has his first string duties so it was understandable that he focused on Furuya for a while. But what's unacceptable is, during Ichidai's game, he was guilty of prioritizing Furuya over the game. This is 99% on Kataoka but 1% on Miyuki. Bitch you were losing and you couldn't even send distress signals to the coach. He trusted Furuya because of the Koshien performance and the ace number when a whole ass Sawamura Eijun exists. That's why he was quite guilty when Eijun dropped the 'trust' word on him during the switch.

And while I like that Eijun's performance during the Ichidai San match was eye opening to the catcher, I still haven't forgiven Miyuki for the day before the game when he 'ditched' or put Ei on the back burner. No, no. I'm not simply being a bitch about it because we know Miyuki's POV at that point. He needed to figure out what's wrong with Furuya and a match was looming. He didn't throw Eijun away, he just put him off a few hours. What I'm angry about is the way he put it to Eijun.

We all know Eijun is dying for some Miyuki acknowledgement. I'm pretty sure Miyuki is so unaware of this fact. Which brings me to the point. Miyuki is unaware of how his words come across to Eijun. How it impacts the little pitcher. That a simple jab to Eijun like "ace-sama wants to pitch" is a big sore spot. We see this later at night when Eijun keeps repeating, "Since I'm already put at the back burner!". Miyuki was being sarcastic about the ace-sama thing. But you see, Eijun is a big idiot. He takes everything at face value. Miyuki even brushes it off as they practice catch, "You're still angry about that?" he jokes.

And whooosh, everything's okay! Or is it?

You may say I'm being dramatic about it. But no. Here's why. During the Ichidai match, Eijun flashes back to two things. One, while on the bullpen frustrated that Furuya's messing up, he recalls the day before when Miyuki chose to catch for Furuya even though he promised to Eijun. (The other one, at his at-bat, he remembers when Kataoka didn't let him pitch the last inning.) So what seems to be a simple nasty joke to Miyuki is a sore spot to Eijun. I have observed this time and time again, but Eijun is quick to under value himself, and these jokes Miyuki pulls aren't helping. Recall that crippled Sawamura self deprecating joke he did, and him saying he was put in the back burner.

(Well anyway, Miyuki was praising Eijun in his mind the night before so I'm appeased. This is one of those TJ inconsistencies I hate, but okay, that's another post. ☹️)

Everything got better after the Ichidai game. Because as Eijun made Kataoka look at him properly. He also did the same to Miyuki. Eijun's performance just screamed, "I'm here. I'm ready!" It lit a fire to everyone in Seidou.

Fielders/Batters

I want to end my long ass post with a good one. I wanna highlight the team's performance during the Ichidai game.

While Furuya was pitching, I could go as far as say the fielder's were baby-ing him. They were so soft and encouraging because they knew Furuya when he is at his best and that it was off day during that time. The fielders were playing primarily to relieve Furuya's pressure.

In contrast, when Eijun was playing on the mound do you guys know how the batters felt? Kanemaru? Kuramochi? Utter frustration and hopelessness. And I was giddy as fuck when that happened. Because Eijun was performing his best, but they couldn't get any runs in response to his amazing pitching. It mothafuckin felt so good watching them feel powerless.

Don't you love this whole match? Obviously I do haha! If you guys ended up reading everything, then thank you! I really wrote this for myself because I was overwhelmed while rewatching it. 😅

Lmao you're so petty about Avs doing better than Hawks this season. The entire point of my messages was to point out how past statistics don't matter. Yes the Avs haven't done well the past few season. Did they suck this season? No. You literally can't argue that the Avs suck presently. The Hawks did. Next season is a new start for everyone. That's how hockey works :)

Hello Anon, whom I can only assume is the same person because you apparently have the inability to come off of anon and speak to me like an adult. If this is three separate people or even two separate people, I’m sorry if you all get lumped in together, but I just don’t give a shit, and if you wanted to be addressed separately, you should have messaged me off Anon, or whatever.  

So let’s talk for a quick second about how all of this... conversation, for lack of a better word, came about. For all of those who are reading this, for whatever reason, and don’t know why this anon keeps messaging me about the Avs: 

So back in October, 12 games into the season, the Hawks, and the Avs played and the Hawks lost 3-6. Now the season before that, if anyone was paying attention, the Avs won 22 games... out of 82 games in the season. 

Hockey fans, what do we base future player contention, player attributes, and team compatibility on? 

If you said statistics then you are statistically correct. 

Statistics are the backbone of our sport. You can argue with me about that if you want to, but if you watch any type of hockey sports show or read any type of hockey sports report you cannot go a full page without someone talking about a CORSI stat or what the statistical chances are for a team to get the top draft pick or something to do with statistics.   

So anyway, the Hawks lost, I was live blogging, so I posted this:

Literally, a post saying, “Thank God it’s over.” With a gif of a stressed-out woman. The tags were: #chicagoblackhawks #wellgetemnexttime  #easiestfuckingteamintheleague #UGGGHHHH 

From those tags came a 12 to 16-hour debate about the Hawks, the Avs, statistics, and defending my right to post what I want, on my blog, in my tags, and about a rival team. Keep in mind I did not tag the Avs at all, this was a Hawks post, on a primarily Hawks blog, about a Hawks’ fan’s opinion. 

The person I was arguing against said statistics don’t matter. 

Fast forward to yesterday.

So the Hawks play their last game, the Avs clinch a WC spot, and I’m spamming my blog with crying emojis about Sharpy and him retiring. I get an Anon message basically saying, “Remember when you said that thing about the Avs not finishing well in this season? Well, I hope you now see that stats don’t matter and that the Avs are good.” Or something like that.

I apologized for saying that the Avs wouldn’t do well, and then proceed to bitch them out because... what are you seriously showing me my receipts from October about a statistical prediction on how well a rival team is going to do this season? And calling me petty? On Anon? 

So that happens, I’m done with it, I tell them to come off anon if they want to have an actual conversation... Spoiler alert, they do not do that. 

Okay, so you guys are caught up. 

So, Anon, let’s talk. 

I’m pretty sure the definition of the word petty has something to do with a person going back to a conversation six months ago about something in someone else’s tags and basically saying, ‘I told you so’ because their team got lucky.  

I don’t care about the Avs, I also don’t like the Avs. You’re supposedly a hockey fan so you must know about rivalries. If you don’t, so the Hawks and the Avs are divisional rivals, the Hawks and the Blues are divisional rivals, the Hawks and the Red Wings used to be divisional rivals, but then the Red Wings switched divisions so they aren’t anymore. You can like any team you want, I don’t care, and I can dislike any team I want, you shouldn’t care, but it seems like you do. 

I’m not saying the Avs suck because they didn’t do well this season, I’m saying they suck because I don’t like them. I will never like them, and I don’t have to. 

I. Am. Shit. Talking. The. Avs. 

I’m not sure if you get that, but that’s what I was doing. I didn’t start this, I’m not particularly in love with shit talking the Avs, but that’s where we’re at, I guess.

Can you pretty please tell me some more about how hockey works? Because I don’t think I get it, and you just seem so well versed.

TL;DR So lets recap real quick: You get pissed about a tag that I put in my post six months ago about a team I don’t like, you argue with me then that Stats don’t matter and the power of belief is what the sport hockey is based on, I disagree. You eventually stop messaging me, lie in wait for six months, the Hawks don’t get the WC spot, the Avs do, and you, totally rational btw, find my blog, Anon message me, ‘I told you so’, and then incorrectly mansplain how hockey works while calling me petty at the same time.

I might be the type of fan that makes other hockey fans hate the Hawks, but you’re the type of fan that makes other hockey fans hate this fandom.

“This is a pain,” Luke said, moping. “I came all the wayhere only to find out MC isn’t here yet.”

“You do know that you’re required to be here for auctionmeetings, right?” Eisuke sipped his coffee, not even bothering to hide hisdispleasure at his own tasteless brew.

“There’s no point in being here if I don’t get to see hermagnificent collarbones today…”

“Aaand there he goes again,” Ota commented.

True enough, the penthouse wasn’t as lively as it ought tobe with MC absent. Eisuke could feel his mood quickly dampening at the taste ofcoffee that wasn’t hers. He had half a mind to page her just to salvage histaste buds, but he had to restrain himself. She worked herself to the boneyesterday, and was feeling a bit guilty.

“Well, collarbones aside, MC really is cute, huh?” Babaadded.

Eisuke felt a stinging pain in his mouth, only to realize hebit his tongue at Baba’s statement.

“Aw, come on, guys. Don’t look at me like that. Are yousaying you all seriously haven’tthought that at least once?”

The room grew a bit silent at the thief’s retort, and Eisukefound himself musing on it. Baba wasn’t wrong in the least. She was very easy on the eyes, what with the wayshe smiled at him and carried herself around him. She wore the maid’s uniformalmost every single day, but he wasn’t a fool not to see that she was hidingsomething special underneath all that. He’d be a blind idiot to thinkotherwise—not that he’d ever admit it out loud, though.

“I guess she has nice legs,” Mamoru said, taking anotherdrag.

The thought of MC diligently cleaning the room, clad in herfitted, work-prescribed stockings conjured not-so-innocent images in Eisuke’smind.

“Oh, so you’ve got a thing for legs now, Mamo?” Ota teasedback.

“Shut up. You see ‘em just as much as I do.”

Her bending down,looking for something underneath a couch, her rear facing me—

“Boss?”

Baba’s voice shook Eisuke from hisdefinitely-not-work-related trance, and Eisuke had to hide his irritation, lestthe others have an inkling of his definitely-not-work-related thoughts.

“You’re oddly quiet today,” Baba noted, the smile neverleaving his face.

“Unlike some people, I have better things to think about.” Says the man thinking about her bent over.

“Really, Eisuke? We all know you think she’s cute, so don’tbother hiding it,” Ota added smugly.

“Whatever.” Like hellI’m telling you that.

Not long after, they heard a soft knock from the door, andsure enough, she had arrived for the day’s cleaning. The others stared at heras if they had seen a ghost, but she could only look back at them curiously.

Talk about bad timing—

“Uh, is there something going on?” she asked tentatively.

“Nothing you should concern yourself with, MC!” Babachirped. “Don’t worry your pretty little mind about us.”

“Okay…” She didn’t look convinced, but she started cleaninganyway.

Try as he might, Eisuke couldn’t keep his eyes off her evenif he wanted to. Either Baba’s comment got to him, or he was starting to losehis wits.

Either way, he had to admit, there was one thing thatbothered him about Baba’s comment.

She’s definitely morethan just cute.

That night, Eisuke plopped down on his bed. It had been along day full of meetings that seemed to drone on and on, and he wanted nothingmore than to just sleep his troubles away. He unbuttoned the topmost buttons ofhis shirt before letting out a sigh.

This bed’s way too bigfor just one person.

Not that he wanted a smaller bed, but lately, he wasstarting to feel something every timehe saw the cold, empty side of his bed.

Without warning, the image of MC, immaculately sprawled on his bed, dressed in nothing but his shirt, appeared in his mind. Ashiver went down his spine before he begrudgingly realized that he should not be thinking those sorts of thingsabout his employee, of all people. Ugh, Baba’s rubbing off on me.

His phone buzzed next to him, and he scowled at the sound.Whoever the hell wanted to disturb him at this ungodly hour was about to get apiece of his mind. He was about to send the interloper a scathing reply when hesaw MC’s name on the screen.

Strange. He couldn’t remember the last time she texted himfor anything. Most of the time, their form of communication consisted of himpaging her, or the occasional call from him. She never initiated contact, asfar as he could recall. If he was being completely honest, it disheartened him.

Curious, he opened her message only to be met with asurprise.

“Holy shit. Holy fuckingshit.”

The “message” she had sent him wasn’t a work-related text oran innocent greeting. No, her message was the farthest thing from innocent—it was a picture of her in front ofher bathroom mirror, wearing nothing but lacy lingerie that left nothing to theimagination.

He had to refresh the message twice just to make sure itreally was her, and not some fantasy conjured by his overworked mind. No matterhow much he re-opened it, all he could see was her, clad in a lacy black bikiniset he never would’ve thought she’d dare to wear. Who knew that under her maid’suniform and her quiet countenance was a stunning body and an even bolderspirit? Mamoru may have called her a kid all the time, but the cop was a blindfool as far as Eisuke was concerned.

The real stinger was the caption that came with the photo:

Good god, she’s goingto be the death of me.

Why the hell would she send him this? It feltout-of-character for someone as shy as she was, but he couldn’t find himself disappointedat the situation. In fact, if he had to say, he was almost…ecstatic, even. If this was her way coming on to him, then Eisuke wasn’tcomplaining anytime soon.

Nevertheless, he was still her boss. The rational side ofhim urged him to delete the photo and erase everything from his memory.

But, goddamn it, you’vewaited so long for an opportunity, and it looks like she made the first move.

That was also true. God knows how many lonely nights he’dspend with only his right hand as company and images of her lost in the throesof pleasure. He’d die before saying it out loud, but nothing save for her her seemed to excite him anymore. Thecompany of other women did nothing to rouse his blood, but even her mostmundane gesture sent him into a spiral of dwindling self-control.

He stared at the photo one last time. Maybe this was hisreward for months of sleeping alone. If there was a god out there, then damn,maybe he’d start praying if this was what faith got him.

Tomorrow, he’d confront her about it. For now, he desperatelyneeded a cold—no—freezing shower torelieve him of the uncomfortable tightness in his pants.

I’m seriously going tolose my mind.

Impatient as he was, Eisuke couldn’t wait for the next dayto come. He paged MC up to his office as soon as soon as he arrived thatmorning. If he was anxious or excited, he couldn’t tell at this point; all hewanted was to see MC as soon as possible. He even prepared some wine for themto hopefully get the message across.

He heard her knock on the door and beckoned her to come in. Eisukeschooled his most neutral expression while she looked adorably flustered,fiddling with the hem of her uniform.

“MC, you know why I called you in here, right?” he askedher, pouring some wine to appear casual.

She gulped before answering him.

“Is it because I accidentally sent you my nudes…?”

…What?

He froze and stopped pouring the moment he processed herwords.

“…Accidentally?” Thewords were ringing in his head as she nodded back at him. Suddenly, he wantednothing more than the ground to swallow him up and erase this memory from existence.

For a while, they both remained in painful silence. Theawkwardness was so palpable that Eisuke wondered if she wanted to hide in ahole as much as he did. Her unabashed blush seemed to indicate it.

But wait a minute, he thought. If she sent him the pictureby mistake, then that meant someone elsewas meant to receive it. As far as he could remember, she wasn’t dating anyoneat the moment.

Or was she? Shecould very well be dating one of the other auction managers right now and hewould be none the wiser.

He felt a pang of white-hot fury at the thought of one ofthem raking their eyes all over her, pressing their lips on her smooth skin,savoring the cries from her lips and—

“Mr. Ichinomiya,” she said, looking away from him. “Just…pleaseforget this ever happened. It was a complete accident, and I swear this’llnever happen again—“

“Who did you mean to send it to?”

“E—excuse me?”

“Just answer the question.” For my peace of mind.

She was still blushing, but she forced herself to speakanyway.

“…Look, I don’t know why youhave to know, but my friend gave me some lingerie as a birthday present, andshe wanted me to send her a picture to show that it fit me. Your name justhappened to be next to hers on my contact list, so…”

Eisuke inwardly let out a sigh of relief. If it had beensome cretin, god knows what he would’ve done.

“Sir, I really think you should just delete the photo andpretend this never happened.”

True, he probably should. If he were a good boss and apolite gentleman, he’d delete the photo to save them both the potential trouble(not to mention awkwardness) in the future. Then they could both resume theirlives as if nothing happened.

The only problem was he was neither of those things.

“How about this instead?” Eisuke suggested. “It’d be unfairto you if you were the only one in a compromising position. I’ll be sure toreturn the favor, then we’ll be even. Deal?”

“I really don’t understand…”

“You’ll see soon enough.” Eisuke took a long sip of his wine,easing his earlier tension.

“By the way, you didn’t look half-bad.”

If she was blushing a while ago, then she was positivelybeet red now.

“Oh, um, thank you…”

She left his office after giving a hurried bow, and Eisukecould only smirk at how his plan would come to fruition very soon.

That night, MC plopped on her own bed, dead tired from theday’s events. Today was absolutely mortifying,to say the least. She really hadn’t meant to send him the godforsaken photo,and she thought she had sealed her doom the moment she realized she sent it to Mr. Ichinomiya, of all people.

God, I really thoughtI was gonna die back there.

But the look on his face when she told him it was an accident—itwas the same look he’d always have whenever he drank someone else’s coffee. Itwas the look he had whenever he’d try to pet an animal, only to have it claw athim in retaliation.

It was, dare she say it, disappointment.

Come on. Like he’d bedisappointed by something like that.

And yet, the look on his face when she told him the picturewas meant for a friend—it was undeniably relief.

She didn’t know what to believe anymore, and there was afluttering in her stomach she couldn’t shake off. It only grew worse when sheremembered his earlier compliment.

Get it together, MC!He’s your boss, for crying out loud.

Her phone buzzed, and she picked it up only to see that Mr.Ichinomiya sent her a text.

After what happened, she could only feel apprehension atwhat was to come. Surely, he was going to fire her after today. God, now she neededto look for a new job, too. Great.

Shakily, her finger swiped the phone screen to open themessage.

“…What is this?”

The room suddenly became very warm, and all the blood rushedto her cheeks the moment the screen changed.

It wasn’t a brief text, but rather, a picture of himself. Hewas standing in front of his own bathroom mirror wearing only his blackboxer-briefs, giving her a delicious, unadulterated view of his lean, chiseledbuild. She had to gulp at the distinct V-line that ran down his hips and into…that place.

There was a caption that came along with the photo, and MChad to blink twice to make sure she wasn’t seeing things:
