#anyway yeah storyline's back and it's good

As a standalone episode I think it was good. One of the best we've had in a while. What I think is throwing some people off is just where it landed in the season. After last week, I can get why there's frustration at the lack of any movement in some arcs. It does feel very much one step forward, two steps back by interrupting the flow of some of those arcs and not addressing them at all. I get it. It can feel like emotional whiplash. Investing and then expecting viewers to pause that for a silly fun filler can throw people out the plot.
But isn't this a classic 911 thing to do though? We as a fandom, have been complaining about this problem for as long as I remember.
911 has one or two character driven episodes that give us some insight into the character's minds. And then the next episode when we all expect something to happen? Nothing.
I'm used to that rhythm by now. So I kinda knew, going into this episode that it wouldn't give us anything big. It's just the nature of 911 and... most network shows to be honest.
I grew up on network shows, before the streaming era. I remember watching 'NYPD Blue', 'ER', 'The Practice', 'Law & Order', 'Ally McBeal', 'JAG', 'Third Watch', 'The X-files', 'Stargate Atlantis', 'The West Wing', 'Without a Trace', 'Star Trek - Voyager', Star Trek - DS9', 'Castle', 'Bones' and so many other shows, and being frustrated sometimes with the fact that we got filler episodes after a really emotionally intense story arc. It's ensemble shows on network TV. That's the way it works.
Yes, we all want to see these character's personal storylines progress, but we can't see all of them progress at the same time.
Does it feel like an emotional whiplash sometimes? Especially because we love certain characters so much and we finally want to see some progress in their storyline? Well yeah, it does. But that's how it's always been.
And to be fair, we did get to see major character growth in this episode. We got to see a new facet of Athena. She is starting to realise that she's getting a little older, no longer able to do it all by herself and she wants to pass on all of her knowledge to a rookie. That's major progress for her and I'm willing to bet the Athena fans had a blast watching this episode. As they should. Next week it'll be time for someone else to have some character growth. Again, that's the way this works.
So, I'm here, I'm sat and willing to wait it out. And in the mean time? I'm just enjoying my show. You know? đ€·ââïž
Anyway, this is just my two cents you guys. Feel free to disagree with me and ignore this. You know I don't mind. It's all good. This is just the way I see it.

HEREâS MORE. I GUESS
the, uh. Previous part, for context. Yeah and thereâs a tag now. For stuff related to the actual⊠âplotâ of this. Itâs #seeker/tempus storyline (hopefully that works on mobile,,)
This was not supposed to turn into a thing. This cannot become a whole thing I need to get back to my actual ficâ
*sigh* But. Here we are. 4000 words of,,, whatever this is. I namedrop the other skeletons and then itâs Tempus ruminating and then him and Seeker crying at each other
Papyrus and Sans were, as one might expect, surprised Seeker tried to leave suddenly, especially without saying goodbye. WD only had part of the story when he went to tell them, after dropping her and Tempus off at the house. (He may have omitted the part where he initially refused to help Tempus stop her from getting killed.)
When the brothers all return to their house, a couple hours later, Seeker is curled into Tempusâs chest on the couch, and thereâs a small pile of crumpled tissues on the floor. Sheâs since fallen asleep from exhaustion, but as tired as he is, Tempus canât find it in himself to sleep too.
She said she loves him. It made his entire SOUL feel bright to hear that returned. He wishes they had been able to tell each other under better circumstances, but it remains a truth regardless, doesnât it? Still, the joy is muted by fear and hurt. Does it make sense why she wanted to leave? Yes. Did she actually intend to leave him behind forever without ever saying goodbye? No. But it keeps replaying in his mind, the look on her face when he burst in to plead with her: the way she tried to ignore him. Yes, alright, she was probably focusing on not getting hit, butâ there was just something about her expression. Something that stung like rejection. Would she not have told him her intention, even then, if he hadnât directly interfered? She later told him that she didnât know if sheâd be able to come back, had she made it to the surface. What did that mean? Was there a version of this where she left and couldnât return and he would have just never known why?
He pushes the thought away best he can and tries to redirect his attention.
It feels good to be able to hold her like this. To comb his fingers through her hair. To experience all the weird things close-up, like her heartbeat, and swallowing, and stomach noises.
âŠAs happy as he is that sheâs alive, and here, and loves him back, heâs a little upset at her, yeah. Yet how can he be? If he were in her shoes, wouldnât he miss his family the same? And she wanted to help everyone. She wanted to help. It made sense to try to leave and come backâ
But why was she so determined not to talk to him first? Maybe he wouldnât have been happy about it, butâŠ
And not only did she try to leave, not only did she try to ignore him when he came to find her, not only did she refuse to give any kind of explanationâ she tricked him. Since the day they met, before he even knew her, he trusted her with his eyes. One of the first things she had learned about him was that he could hardly see more than blurred colors without his glasses. Sure, he took them off himself plenty of times, whether for his safety goggles, or to look cool in shades, or for some other reason, but that was different. She threw his glasses. She made him think she was relenting, coming to him in trust, and she tore them off his face.
Was everything else not enough without that on top?
She knew he wouldnât stop otherwise. That was a correct assessment. She was convinced that what she was doing was necessary. That made her do things she otherwise would not have.
But did she have to twist the knife?
No amount of reasoning through it can pull out the seeds of doubt and fear that have begun to take root in his heart. No matter how long he spends sitting there absently stroking her hair and staring at the wall, no matter how much he reflects on what she told him, the thoughts of âshe would leave if she couldâ play in perfect harmony with that background music in his soul that he rarely even notices anymore: a perpetual fear of abandonment.
And so when his cousins come home later, with Seeker asleep on his chest, he is sure the tracks of tears on his cheeks are still visibleâ as if the hollow expression on his face and equally hollow glowing of his eyelights isnât enough to tell them he isnât up for talking.
For once, no one tries to kick him off the couch for the night.
Papyrus brings them a blanket. At one point, without him noticing, Sans (presumablyâ since no one else can move that unnoticed) leaves a bag of takeout from Grillbyâs next to the couch. Tempus eats his feelings in the form of then-cold fries. When he and WD catch each otherâs eye at one point, Tempus looks away. Never one to push, WD leaves him alone.
In truth, heâs kind of pissed at his cousin. No, thatâs not true. Heâs livid. Sure: WD took him to the castle, and brought them home, and healed them. But he saw Seeker leave and wasnât going to say anything? He knew full well what would have happened. He would have let her be killed. Even knowing how Tempus feels, even knowing she meant no harm, even knowing she thought of him as a friend! A human may be powerful, but not only is it blatantly obvious that Seeker would never kill, if WD had any doubt that Asgore would prevail, he would not have let her go.
He knew, he knew that he was letting her walk to her death. And then he tried to convince Tempus to let it happen.
WD is a nervous guy, and fears humans. As comfortable with Seeker as he had allowed himself to become in the last few months, none of the other skeletons were under the mistaken impression that he liked her very much. Even still, Tempus had thought it was more out of fear of being discovered or reported, out of fear for his reputation maybe, out of a lifetime of only focusing on humansâ potential for harm. Never, not once did Tempus think that WD, the cousin he was closest to, would just let someone die. And not just anyoneâ someone Tempus cares about.
In the end, is this how it really is? Not even the people you love care enough to tell you the truth unless you force it out of them. If it werenât strictly necessary, would anyone actually tell him anything? Could he even trust them when they did?
Slapped in the face twice in one day.
âŠThese fries taste awful cold.
- - -
Seeker wakes up late at night, when itâs dark in the house and everyone is quiet. Her head hurts like she got hit with a bat. âŠWhy does it smell like fries? And what is she laying on? She sits up.
Oh.
Tempus.
Everything comes rushing back all at once and the guilt almost makes her vomit. Heâs sleeping, but must not have fallen asleep too long ago because he looks like heâs been crying. It makes her heart twist so painfully that her eyes water a little. He was crying. And it was her fault. Gosh, he deserves so much better than her. When she thinks about everything heâs done for her, and how sheâs repaid himâŠ
A sharp, bitter laugh tears out of her before she can stop it. She still owes him $20.
Her stomach gurgles. She knows sheâs hungry, and needs to eat, but the idea of eating is utterly repulsive with the nauseating guilt. Instead, she leans over Tempus again. He fell asleep with his glasses on. Wait, didnât she have hers on too? It only takes a split second to locate them on the side table next to the arm of the couch where Tempusâs head rests. He must have taken them off for her. Itâs never comfortable to sleep with them on, after all. She moves to do the same for him, but freezes just before. The scene from earlier plays in her head, so vivid itâs like itâs happening in front of her, and she flinches away to cover her face and claw at her hair.
âBAD bad bad badââ
Itâs a tendencyâ or perhaps a compulsion, because she canât always stop herselfâ when unpleasant memories intrude like this, to hiss something at them in a frantic whisper. To make them go away.
âIâll do better Iâll do betterâ!â
Itâs not the first time. It wonât be the last. But usually itâs older memories, not fresh ones.
She doesnât try again to remove his glasses.
As much as she enjoys the thought of cuddling with him, she doesnât feel totally comfortable with the idea of sharing a sleeping space just yet. She fell asleep on him in her exhausted misery, and she doesnât blame him for not wanting to leave her alone. He probably didnât think she would sleep so long, or that he would fall asleep too. But now that sheâs awake, the best thing to do would probably be to sleep elsewhere.
âŠShe very much does not want to leave. Itâs cold outside, even just to get to where sheâs claimed a âroomâ in the shed. And thereâs nowhere else in the house. Well, thereâs the floor. The floor would be alrightâ she can fall asleep just about anywhere, truthfully. But sheâll need another blanket. And maybe a pillow, if she can find one.
Seeker slowly moves to get off the couch without disturbing Tempus. Sheâs fairly certain sheâs successful, too, until she turns and makes to step away.
âSeekerâ! Donât leave,â comes his voice, pleading and scratchy with sleep and tears, as small as sheâs ever heard it. âPlease.â
She spins with a pang in her heart to see Tempusâs outstretched hand reaching for her, eyes burning hollow periwinkle and already brimming with tears.
âStars, please, Seeker. Pleaseââ
âIâm not going anywhere,â she rushes to reassure, on her knees beside him in an instant with his hand in hers. âJust getting another blanket.â
He blinks at her, seemingly all the way awake now, then laughs bitterly and covers his face with his free hand, knees coming up as he curls. âBlanket.â He sighs, and smiles grimly through what she assumes is embarrassment. âOf course.â
âIâll⊠be right back.â She squeezes his hand, then lets it go.
A moment later sees her return with a blanket and pillow. Tempus is sitting upright now, feet on the floor, with his face in his hands and his glasses pushed up to his forehead rather than taken off. Seeker slowly lowers to the couch beside him, pillow and blanket set to the side.
âIâm sorry,â she says, quietly. âI should have⊠done it differently.â
âYou can get a blanket if you really want to,â Tempus mumbles, rubbing his sockets with the heels of his hands. âIf thatâs what you⊠But a heads-up wouldaâ Just, anything not to scare me so bad.â
She swallows. âI just⊠I donât know if I couldâveâŠ. still brought myself to get up, if Iâd woken you up first.â She wrings her hands. âI wouldâve felt awful, because I wanted you to be able to sleep. I thought I could go and get it with you being none the wiser. Okay maybe just⊠just a little colder for a minute, but thenââ
âYou really thought Iâd be none the wiser!?â Tempus snaps suddenly, turning to look at her. âIf you just disappeared!? With no explanation!?â
Seeker flinches away. With his lip curled in a snarl and his eyelights flared, he looks like a wounded animal. But itâs gone in an instant, and the anger gives way to hurt as he looks away again. But itâs done, and sheâs retreated from him to the far side of the couch, curled in on herself and holding back tears again.
Heâs right. (Because she knows he wasnât talking about the blanket.) It was selfish. And she hurt him. Of course heâs upset. No matter what he said earlier, it was stupid to think he wouldnât be, just because she was still here, and alive. He was just putting it aside for her sake. Because of course heâd do that, heâs Tempus. Lord, why was everything he did all for her?
âIâm sorry,â he says, and itâs a whimper. (âStop,â she begs mentally, âmy heart is going to break at this rate!â) She blinks back tears as she stares into his wide eyes, no longer flared periwinkle. âDidnât mean to snap at you,â he rasps in apology, too fast, ây-youâre stillâŠâ
Seeker shakes her head and scoots closer. He turns his head away from her once again. âNo,â she murmurs, âI shouldâve handled it differently. It wasâ It was selfish.â
âYou wanted to help everyone,â he counters, âthatâs not selfish.â
âI shouldnât have just left,â she presses, hoping the remorse is clear in her voice. âI should have talked with you guys.â She pauses. âWith you.â
Itâs quiet.
Itâs quiet for a long time.
The blue darkness feels so big and so small; The whole entire world is somewhere in this dark, and at the same time thereâs nothing in existence but this room and this janky green couch and the two of them. The empty fullness of it feels its own sort of alive.
ââtâs hard to believe you,â Tempus murmurs after a while. After itâs been long enough that Seeker isnât sure heâs talking about the same thing anymore.
She swallows nervously, afraid of the answer to what sheâs about to ask. âThat I regret how I handled itâŠ?â
His head is still turned away from her, in the quiet. He doesnât answer right away. The hesitation is palpable, the held-back energy full of so many reasons for being so. When he finally does answer, his voice shakes, shudders.
âThat you love me.â
Seeker feels her heart break right in half.
âA-And I know, itâs not the timeâ!â Tempus throws a hand up as he continues, voice finally breaking as it all comes pouring out, and itâs so thick with tears and the same distressed smile he keeps forcing. He looks at the ceiling. The next part comes out with a laugh thatâs trying very hard not to be a sob. âYa just lost your family, thisâ this isnât gonna be somethinâ you can deal with right now. I get it!â
She reaches toward him, hand hovering over his shoulder as he breaks down.
âButââ
Her hand curls around his arm, and he spins around to face her with an expression that shatters whatâs left of her heart.
ââBut to leave a-anâ then not even talk to me when I came runninâ! Ya kept your eyes shut every time I tried to getcha to look! And when I finallyâ When ya did, itââ He swallows a hiccup and shakes his head, looking somehow even more hurt. His eyes are lit again. âYou tricked me,â he whispers. âCuz yâknow I canât see.â He lets that hang in the air for a moment. âA-Anâ then, when ya realized ya canât leave, then,â he laughs, almost incredulously, âthen yâtell me ya love me.â
Seeker can barely look at him, but he deserves to be looked in the eye. He shakes his head. âI-I wanna believe you so bad, Seeker, but whatâm I sâposed to think?â
It does sound worse, like that. It was a given that heâd be upset, but she hadnât thought about how confused he must be. How contradictory her actions must seem. And lord, it crushes her to see him hurting like this. Sheâs overwhelmed, unsure how to proceed, weighed down by her own grief and still processing the fact that she almost died today, on top of all of this with Tempus. She only wanted to reassure him when she told him that she felt the same, earlier, with all he had done for her. But instead all she did was make it worse. Lord, she always makes everything worse, no matter how she tries to make things better.
âI-Iââ Sheâs utterly at a loss, searching his watery eyes with her own damp ones and wanting nothing more than to somehow clarify everything, fix everything, make him feel like heâs hers and she wants him and loves him and itâs real, itâs all real!
Not knowing what else to do, what she could possibly say, she reaches for his hands and intertwines their fingers as she leans closer. âI do,â she insists, urgently. Frantic, almost. âIâm so bad at everything about this and I did a really, really terrible job of showing it, but I do, I do!â
Her heart is in her throat and tears are burning her eyes and the longer she looks at him the more pieces her heart breaks into.
âEverything you do is for me, even though Iâm oblivious, even though sometimes Iâm crappy to be around, even though Iâm so bad at being a good friend, even though you havenât gotten anything back for it but hurt. I-I thought if I told you how I feel the same way, after everything you did for me today, th-then it would be reassuring that it wasnât for nothing. But I made it worse!! Iâm so sorry, Tempus, Iâm sorry for all of it! But I meant itââ She sniffs and drops her head. Itâs a small thing, but maybe it will mean something; she brings his knuckles to her lips.
âI do⊠do love you,â she insists, softly. âIâm bad at it, but I wanna- I wanna prove it.â A sniffle. âI just need⊠a little time. T-To grieve.â
Tempus sniffs too, and when she looks up heâs still crying but his cheeks are flushed. He nods a couple times before finding his words, between the occasional hiccup.
âThatâs fair. âM⊠âm sorry, I didnât want tâ⊠bring all this up. B-But itâŠâ
Seeker shakes her head. âNo, youâre hurting too. That should get talked about.â Her fingers tighten around his. âIâm sorry your feelings keep getting put on the back burner.â
âTheyâre not as imââ Heâs cut off by her head whipping up and the intensity in her eyes.
âDonât say that! It makes me feel awful!â she cries. His mouth clicks shut. Seeker leans in close, one hand untangling from his to hover close to his face as she looks him over with so much heartache. âEverything about you is important. Just as important as anything about anyone else.â She swallows. âAndâ and more. Important. Than stuff about anyone else. T-To⊠To me.â
He stares at her in bewilderment, and then his eyes go periwinkleâ solid, with white centers this timeâ as a fresh wave of tears hits. Another hitch in his breathing, and he leans his face into her hovering hand and presses over it with his own hand.
âYou have every right to be mad at me,â Seeker murmurs, miserable at the idea despite knowing itâs her own fault. âBut donât think I did any of this because I donât care. Or- Or because youâre not as important.â
His eyes search hers, and his mouth opens like he wants to say something, but he changes his mind, and as he turns his eyes away, they fade back to just white. Still, he holds her hand to his face, and she thumbs away some stray tears.
âTempus,â Seeker begins again, her voice still wobbly, and he glances back up. She makes sure sheâs looking at him. âIâm sorry I took your glasses. And Iâm sorry I threw them. That wasâŠâ She gulps. âThat was a really shitty thing to do.â
She doesnât like to swear, but occasionally there really is no other word that fits. This is one of those times. Tempus doesnât even flinch at hearing it from her.
ââŠYeah,â he whispers back, looking down. âIt was.â
All the guilt she feels is deserved, she reminds herself. He doesnât owe her forgiveness, either. And thereâs more to apologize for.
âA-And Iâm sorry I tricked you.â
His face scrunches up painfully and he almost turns away.
âItâs not an excuse,â she continues, âbut in the moment I really did think it was the only way. Doesnât make it okay, or right, but at- at least know itâs not because I didnâtâŠâ
Didnât what? Didnât care about his well-being or safety? Obviously she must not, if she did that! Didnât want him there? She didnât, though, or she wouldâve told him her plan ahead of time. There wasnât a single good reason. Everything about that action betrayed a lack of respect. What could she even say?
âL-Like I said, I⊠shouldâve handled the entire thing differently. And Iâm sorry. F-For everything it implies.â
âYâknow I canât see,â he whispers, an echo from earlier. Still doesnât look at her.
âY-Yeah.â She wonât try to avoid taking responsibility. Her hand squeezes around his. âIt was too far. Way too far.â Seekerâs chest aches and it comes out in her voice. âI will never do anything like that again.â He finally looks back up at her. âYou deserve more respect than that. Iâm sorry. It doesnât feel like enough, but I am.â
Silence as he searches her eyes, silence as she hopes he sees her earnestness in her expression, in her tears. Silence as he lowers his gaze and her heart drops with it.
âPromise.â Itâs more of a question, a request, than a demand. Spoken so quietly she can barely hear.
âI swear to you.â No hesitation.
He pulls away from her hand on his face but doesnât let go of it, and instead turns further to face her, leg up on the couch, and drops his head to rest against her shoulder when she turns too. He holds her hand against his face once more. Seeker lets go of his other hand to wrap her arm around his back.
âOkay,â is all he murmurs.
Is it acceptance, or resignation?
She rubs his back, slowly, up and down, tracing over the flattened spines down the middle when she comes to them. His little tail, sticking out from the bottom of his shirt, sways back and forth in time. Rather than say anything more, Seeker closes her eyes and presses her face against the top of his head. Sheâs so fortunate that after everything, heâs still here. Maybe he wonât want to be, once everything settles. Thatâs well within his right. But heâs here right now, and he wants to be close despite it all, and for never having acted on their feelings before now, really, holding him feels so natural.
Undoubtedly, he can feel her teardrops on his skull, but he doesnât say anything. Seeker reflects on the irony of the whole situation: in a bid to save everything, she lost almost all of it. No more family. No way home. Maybe she could have coped with those facts better if sheâd known sooner, and had her skeleton friendsâ support. But instead it went like this, and she betrayed all of them, almost lost her life, almost lost Tempusâ might still lose Tempus.
But heâs here for now. And she deserves whatever he decides to do, but right now, she just wants him to know, more than anything, that while her well-intentioned attempts to do the right thing were very misguided, while she was (and still is, even) prepared to give up who she cares about for the greater goodâ
âI love you.â
Said right against his skull, like she could somehow whisper it into his very being. She feels his fingers curl in the back of her shirt.
âI don't think⊠I could be very good to you. Right now. But ifâŠâ She swallows. This a lot to ask. She can hardly so much as whisper it. âIf you'd wait⊠Iâll get better.â
Silence.
âJ-Just think about it.â
He must be exhausted. Emotionally, mentally, physically. She feels his weight begin to sag against herâ and while not especially so, he's heavier than she had once thought a skeleton would be. Maybe, maybe she can make an exception to her sleeping rule. These are extenuating circumstances.
âCâmere.â
With the pillow and blanket from earlier behind her, she shifts them around with one hand and holds Tempus close with the other. When it's sorted out, she leans back and pulls him with her. He doesn't fight it, instead adjusting himself as they move to better fit around her. Hesitantly, he finally removes his glasses, and reaches to set them on the arm of the couch behind her. It all ends with him half on his side, half on his stomach; half on her and half beside her. But the important thing is that his head is tucked under hers, and his arms are around her, and hers are around him. She pulls the blankets up over them.
One last little sniffle, and she squeezes him gently. âGet some sleep, Tem.â
He hums some sound at the nickname, but whether it's in approval or not, Seeker can't tell. In either case, he turns his face into her shoulder. She rests a hand on the back of his skull.
âIâll be here when you wake up.â
#hhhhgh i love when people hurt each other with good intentions thatâs just my entire life#Iâm ready to be taken out back and shot#this is really therapeutic and stuff but mMMM EMBARRASSMENT#seeker is both me and also a separate character.#very very very tempted to either rename her or myself#for clarityâs sake#bc rn I differentiate by tagging her as#doodle seeker#yeah.#anyway. normal tags:#seeker writes#tempus#seeker/tempus storyline#âŠ.there is more to this actually but hhhhhghhh im scared of this becoming a Thing WHAT ABOUT MY ORIGINAL BLORBOS#but the whole thing with WD does get addressed#LOOK HEâS VERY MUCH A DIFFERENT CHARACTER THAN DINGS#i did NOT mean to make him like this but it just Happened. stillâ donât hate him just yet

#this storyline was stupid you expect me to believe two-apples-tall liam gallagher came close to the crack AND managed to ingest it?#the crack which is lined up on the kitchen counter?#Also i don't believe that fiona would be irresponsible enough for liam to have been able to be close to the crack#that was an ooc moment and not like âits ooc cause thats the point shes going thru a tough timeâ#morelike âso ooc that it seems like a discrepancy that was overlooked for the sake of drama and shock value#as an older sister i feel like being watchful of your younger sibling if crack is in their general vicinity is an unstoppable instinct#its just not a plausible situation sorry like this is coming from someone who wholeheartedly embraces the realistic idea#of fiona falling short sometimes and being very human by struggling to consistently maintain her doting attentiveness#but anyways it's complicated cause Fiona clearly put it somewhere he cant reach#so how did he get access to it????#its like getting mad at a parent for putting a glass of wine on the counter#not comparing that to literal cocaine obviously this whole situation was nonetheless messed up#but just for some perspective... the writers were clearly doing cocaine themselves if they thought that#liam was bungee-jumping onto the counter and showing off his skills as an apparent budding olympics gymnast#not justifying anything but. listen.#the fact that it was on the counter FOR A REASONNN shows that fiona was careful to keep it out of reach and NOT do something insane like#putting it on the table#liam somehow magically having access to it defeats the purpose of it being on the counter.#if they really wanted for it to be believable that liam managed to snort it they should've put it on the table#but we already know that situation wouldn't be believable in its entirety cause we know that fiona would literally never leave it there#WHICH IS MY POINT. LIKE THIS SITUATION IS JUST ANNOYINGLY UNBELIEVABLE. FIONA WOULD NOT DO THIS AND HOW DID LIAM EVEN GET TO IT??#theres like 39482939 overlooked discrepancies just for the sake of getting to the shock#just to circle back Fiona would literally never let liam go near crack no matter how far gone and fucked up she was#I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I AM AN OLDER SISTER.#its just so UGHHHHH anyways obviously i still think in canon yeah Fiona was at fault shouldve been more careful and watchful#no matter how you look at it its clear that a risk like this just cannot be taken and she had to be blamed to an extent#but me personally? i reject it because it didnt feel natural to me at all there were 394939 other ways to frame a Fiona downfall#And i loved all the other ways her spiral was shown like getting messed up and ending up in Sheboygan#all the shit she got into with robbie + the impulsive urge to ruin the good thing she had going with mike#so human and believable and deeply flawed unlike the liam situation which was horrifically OOC and unrealistic

Baby Mama Drama(jjk x reader)
Pairing: BabyDaddy!Jeon Jungkook x BabyMama!Female!Reader
Word Count: 3.2K+
Warnings: reader and Jungkook coparent, they have a daughter who is mentioned but doesnât appear in the story, reader and Jungkook technically arenât together but they still love each other and fool aroundđ„Ž, reader irritates the hell out of JK but he canât stay mad at them, reader is definitely a little toxic, Smut(18+ but I donât control what you consume), oral(m and f receiving), 69 position, the sloppiest of top, face riding, fingering, reverse cowgirl, reader rides like a pro, missionary, reader has a tattoođ€, reader is also dragging that wagon, reader also also has that certified WAP, reader is flexible, squirting, unprotected s*x(donât do this and then turn into this couple), creampie, dirty talk, one face slap, multiple ass slaps like seriously JK is obsessed with readerâs badonk a donk, a little degradation and a dash of dumbification
A/N: IâM BACK EVERYONE!đ„łfor anyone who didnât read my last post, my tumblr was suspended for a little while so thatâs why I wasnât posting. Anyway, itâs over so Iâm back to work. This is a piece inspired by @joonberriess and their Sleazy!JK storyline. Shoutout to them. I love everything about the way they write JK and reader so definitely check them out if you havenât already! Their stories make me want a sleazy baby daddy who canât leave me the hell alone but I know Iâll never be able to handle that in real life so fictional is good enough for me!đ€Łthis fic is just kind of a reverse of theirs where I made reader a sleazy and jealous baby mama. I know this kind of behavior is a stereotype among the black community but I am in no way condoning it. Itâs just fiction and meant to be entertaining. Anyway, please let me know what you guys think as I am always open to criticism and please look forward to my upcoming posts! Much love and thanks for reading đ€đ€đ€

ïżœïżœïżœSo, do you have any kids?â
Taking a sip of his drink, Jungkook nodded. âYeah, one. A daughter. You?â
âTwo. Their father is an absolute nightmare though. Thank goodness we have a court order. I canât even be in the same room as him without wanting to pull all my hair out.â She bitterly laughed with a shake off her head, tossing the rest of her drink back. âWhat about you? Is your childâs mother a monster?â
Jungkook titled his head, a strained chuckle leaving him. âUm, well sheâsâŠ..something.â
The woman hummed. âI get it. A real bitch, huh? I hate women like that. Ones who canât let their baby daddyâs go and are somehow always around. So annoying. Like donât you have something better to do?â
âYeah and I do it 4 times a week in my Queen sized bed.â
Jungkook stiffened at the sound of that familiar voice. There was only one person he knew that spoke that crassly to strangers.
The scent of your perfume and the smell of the mousse you used on your braids invaded his space and solidified that shit was about to go downhill.
The woman, whoâs name he donât think he ever caught, made a noise of surprise once you appeared before her. Your body stood right between her and Jungkook, forcing her to step back a little. Arms crossed over your chest and hip cocked out to the side, your eyes roamed up and down this womanâs body in a scrutinizing manner.
âAnd who are you?â
Leaning back a little, you plopped yourself right on Jungkookâs lap.
Looking her up and down once more, you answered simply with a big smile, âIâm unimpressed. Nice to meet you.â
Ignoring you for a moment, the woman looked around you to make eye contact with Jungkook who was shooting her a look that screamed, âplease walk away!â She didnât really understand what was going on. Who were you and why did you walk into their conversation on 10 like that? It was one thing to interrupt a conversation but to be that disrespectful to someone you didnât even know? That didnât go down well in her book.
Copying your previous stance, the woman replied, âWell Iâm unimpressed with your attitude. Didnât your mother ever teach you any manners?â
âNo but she taught me to how to wrap a bitchâs hair around my wrist and keep swinging until my arm gets tired.â Your smile was sugary sweet but your words cut deep like knives. The woman was stunned. No one has ever spoken to her this way and it was a rude awakening. She didnât even know how to respond.
Not wanting to see you demonstrate your motherâs teachings, Jungkook quickly stood to his feet. âWell, we should really be going. It was nice meeting you. Letâs go.â He grabbed your arms to start pushing you away from the woman.
âNo it wasnât!â You called out, both of you leaving the shocked woman by herself.
Once you two had made it outside, Jungkookâs frustration boiled over.
âWhat the hell is wrong with you? Why is it everytime I meet someone, you show up and scare them off? We arenât together anymore. Is it not getting through your head? Like what the hell-â
His rant was flying right over your head because all you could focus on was how unbelievably sexy he looked today. How dare he walk outside like that? And he was going to waste all of that on some random stranger in a bar? Yeah right. Not as long as you had a say about it.
Your greedy eyes trailed from the top of his head to those bulging veins in his neck and down to his soft cock that was pressing against his jeans. Whew, just imaging that monster had your panties sticking to you. It was so big and warm and when he was giving you back shotsâŠ..
âAre you listening to me?â
You blinked a few times, your eyes slowing raising until they met the searing glare of your baby daddy.
âUh yeah. Something about airline prices. So what are you doing tonight?â
Jungkook couldnât fucking believe you. God you pissed him off to no end but he always had a way of letting off some steam.
âLetâs go. Now.â
âYes sir.â You purred with that mischievous glint in your eye. Jungkookâs own eye twitched at the implications behind your tone but he decided to ignore it in favor of turning around to begin walking to his car, you hot on his heels and a Cheshire like grin on your face because you were getting what you wanted.
The drive back to his place was quiet, as was the ride up the elevator and the living room as he moved to sit down. He didnât even raise his eyes to look at you once since you got in the car. Although you could see right through his petty act.
Flopping down on the couch next to him, your head leaning against your hand, you said, âcome on, baby. Youâre not still mad at me, are you? I said Iâm sorry.â
No answer.
Moving closer to him, your hand trailed over his chest and up to his face to turn his head to face you, lips just centimeters apart. This wouldnât be the first time you were on the receiving end of his heated glare and it certainly wouldnât be the last but youâd be lying if you said it didnât turn you on.
âWhat do I have to say for you to forgive me? I hate when youâre mad at me, baby.â
âThen stop doing shit that pisses me off and I wonât be.â He fired back, that low tone of his sending shocks down your spine.
âIâm sorry. Now let me make it up to you.â He could pick up on that sultry voice anywhere and those bedroom eyes you were currently shooting him was a dead giveaway as well.
He rolled his eyes. âYou need to stop expecting dick everytime you come over here. Itâs not gonna fix anything.â
Gasping dramatically, you moved back a little to hold a hand to your chest in faux offense. âYou wound me, tater tot. I came here with pure intentions to apologize to you. Can a woman not apologize to her baby daddy without him thinking she has an ulterior motive?â
An unimpressed look crossed Jungkookâs face from your dramatics and from that stupid pet name you gave him all those years ago.
âWhatever.â He mumbled. âFine. I accept your apology. Just donât do it again.â A warning that fell on deaf ears because yeah, youâd definitely do it again if needed but for now, youâd bask in his forgiveness.
âThank you, baby. You know I only want to make you happy.â
âYou do,â he whispered, those doe eyes lifting to connect with yours.
Your lips met, your hands pushing Jungkook back against the arm of the couch to climb into his lap. He went willingly, melting into your touch and the feeling of your plump lips. His own hands traveled up your thighs to squeeze at the plushness of your ass, his grip forcing your covered cunt to rub against his growing erection.
His grunts mixed with your low hum of pleasure as you grinded against one another but Jungkook could only tolerate about a minute of that before he started getting impatient.
Groaning against your lips, he struggled out a, âfuck. Sit it on already.â
The sounds of your giggles made him pause, eyes cracking open and his eyebrow raising because what the hell was so funny?
âOh nothing.â You said as if reading his mind. âI just remember a very certain someone saying not to expect dick everytime I come here yet that same person is telling me to sit on his dick. How the tables have turned.â
Rolling his eyes yet again, Jungkook suddenly heaved himself up, forcing you backwards. Your giggles increased, the contagion of your amusement finally breaking him and stretching a full blown smile across his face.
âYouâre so goofy.â
âThen do something about it, Mickey.â
In a show of strength that turned your panties from a pool into a water park, Jungkook heaved you over his shoulder, hand coming down on the fat of your ass.
âIâll do something about it alright.â
Once you made it to the bedroom, Jungkook tossed you down onto the bed and was about to climb on top of you but you were a little quicker. Grabbing his arm, you pulled him down until he was flat on his back with you straddling his waistâhis hard cock pressed right against your clothed cunt, just waiting to be released.
Leaning down, you captured him in another kiss while he captured your ass in his grip.
âDamn I love this assâŠ.â He murmured into your lip lock which made you giggle.
After deeming him throughly kissed, you sat up to take in his flushed face and reddened lips. Perfect.
âForgive me yet?â
He hummed, fingers playing with the hem of your top. âMaybe after you take this off.â
Ever so compliant, you gripped both sides of your shirt and pulled it over your head to reveal your bare breasts to Jungkook. His eyes could have popped out of his head, the groan he let out a mixture of arousal and slight irritation.
âYouâre not wearing a bra?â
Shrugging one shoulder, you simply answered, âI knew I was coming here. Whatâs the point? Do you want to know if Iâm wearing underwear?â That cheeky smile answered the question for him and it only sunk him further into the already unhealthy infatuation he had with you.
Gripping your ass, he roughly grinded your cunt down on his erection. The friction made both of you gasp, the air starting to feel electric as desperation began eating at both of you.
It didnât take long for both of you to undress each other. Jungkook helped you wiggle out of those tiny shorts you wore, letting out a curse as a little drip of sticky arousal snapped back against your inner thigh. Sitting up, he grabbed the back of his shirt to pull it over his head and toss it somewhere in the room. Now you could feast your eyes on the hard planes of his body and trace your fingers those intricate tattoos that marked up his skin.
Leaning down once again, you trailed kisses from that sweet spot on his neck, down his chest and over his abs until you reached your destination. Your eyes never left his as you began your descent, hands tugging at the waistband of his jeans to pull them down and Jungkook helped kick them off. You licked your lips at the sight of Jungkookâs hard cock slapping against his abs once you freed it from the confines of his pants . He could see that hungry look in your eye, smirking as he took hold of his erection and began lightly pumping it; a motion that drove you fucking crazy was watching him stroke himself. It just did something to you.
âYou want it, bug?â He teased to which you nodded frantically.
âYes, baby. Give it to me.â Opening your mouth, you held your tongue out to lick at it, Jungkook hissing at the contact. He slapped it against your wet muscle a few times before letting the tip slip in your mouth. You immediately wrapped your lips around it, suckling at it like a desperate whore. Which you were but only for him. No one else could make you act like this.
You replaced his hand with your own, licking and spitting all over his cock to lubricate it. Taking him down your throat, you began bobbing your head up and down, making sure to twist your wrist just the way he liked it.
Jungkook let out a series of low moans, curses, and the tiniest of whines everytime you went down. One hand gripped at the ponytail you put your braids up in and one hand behind his head, he let you take the lead. You knew just how he liked it, just the way to flick your wrist and tighten your throat to throw him over the edge in minutes.
Coming off him with a wet cough, you continued to stroke his cock, your spit soaking your own hand but that only helped the glide. Your hazy and hungry eyes stared right into his, your chin and mouth soaked in saliva. âI love this cock so fucking much.â You gasped before taking it back down your throat and bobbing your head.
Tossing his head back, Jungkook let out a strangled moan, forcing your head down. You let him, of course, relaxing your throat so he could fuck up into your mouth.
âCome sit on my face, baby. Right fucking now.â He demanded.
Pulling off him a little, you maneuvered your body until your pussy was right over his faceâ69 style. He gripped both of your ass cheeks in his palms, pulling you down until he could suck your neglected clit into his mouth.
You let out a sharp gasp around his cock, finally getting some type of relief. Sucking his cock made you a different type of horny and he could see that with the way your cunt was dripping.
His mouth and tongue started going crazy, ravenous as he alternated between sucking and licking, making sure to dip his tongue in your opening every once in a while. His hands continued to slap and grip at your ass, one wandering sometimes to pull your slippery lips apart so he could really get in there.
His hand trailed down from your ass to your tight opening, squeezing a finger into your spasming walls. He located that sweet spot with practiced ease, slipping in another finger in beside it and stretching your snug cunt open. The squelching of your walls was like music to his ears, adding to the salacious âgluck gluckâ noises your throat was making as you swallowed his cock.
Since you were horny on your way here, it didnât take long for that feeling to start burning hot in your belly.
You pulled off his cock but continued to stroke him, your cheek resting against his thigh as high pitched moans left your lips.
Jungkook flattened his tongue, his grip on your ass guiding you to rut against his face. The fat of your ass almost suffocated him but Jungkook couldnât imagine going out any other way. He hooked his fingers right into your gspot, your eyes rolling back and head hanging low as you used him for your pleasure.
âOh yes! Oh yes, daddy! Youâre gonna make me cum!â Lifting your head, you took his cock back into your mouth, burying it all the way to the hilt in your throat. Jungkookâs hips jumped, him groaning against your clit, the vibrations sending shocks right through you.
A few swallows around his cock and a few more jabs to that spot inside of you and both of you were cumming. Your body tensed, hips rutting faster against his face to ride it out. He thrusted his hips up once, twice, three times before letting out a drawn out moan as he pumped his release down your waiting throat. Your body shivered as buzzing pleasure raced down your back and to your toes. You donât think youâve had an orgasm like that sinceâŠâŠ.three days ago when Jungkook ate you out in his car after he had to pick you up because you forgot to get gas.
Amazing car head aside, the party wasnât over yet.
âSit on it, bug. Hurry.â Jungkook rushed you, tapping your ass a few times, his breath labored and tone dripping with desperation.
Good thing you were just as eager because you crawled forward on your weak knees until he was lined up with your entrance. Reaching between your legs, you held his wet cock steady as you slid down on it. Jungkookâs hands held your ass cheeks apart to watch, eyes blurring slightly as your hot, tight, and gushing walls wrapped around him. You werenât faring much better, your head knocking back as his thick cock stretched you to your limits. It didnât matter how many times you had taken his cock, the pure g i r t h always knocked the breath out of you. This is why you couldnât leave him alone, his cock was just too fucking good. Youâd be damned if you ever let someone else take it from you.
Once you were settled to the hilt, your body leaned all the way forward to rest between his legs and you began bouncing your ass on his cock.
Jungkook was mesmerized by how your fat ass rippled and moved against his pelvis. At this moment, he didnât give a damn how many women you threatened or how much you pissed him off; just the sight of your ass and the feeling of your juicy cunt wrapped around him was enough to make him remember another reason why he couldnât let you the hell go. He loved your pussy too much. And if that wasnât enough, the sight of that tiny ââĄJKâ tatted on your left ass cheek certainly let him know.
Jungkookâs hands came down to slap repeatedly on your bouncing ass. âFaster baby. Fuck, this ass is so good!â The seat of your ass was wet from a combination of spit and cum, the wet slapping noises filling the space. Your moans were in competition with the clapping of your ass, your cheek pressed against the sheets and your nails digging into his calves.
âAhhh! This cock is so b-big,â you whine, âlove it so muchâŠ..right thereâŠ.! Oohhhh-ohhhh fuck!â
Lifting up a little and adjusting your knees to a better position, you began throwing yourself down on his cock, the head brushing against every spot you had and sending you reeling. Youâd come all the way up until just the tip was inside before slamming back down, the bed shaking underneath the force. Jungkookâs toes curled, your cunt gripping him tighter than a vice.
He was about 98% sure his soul left his body, eyes rolling and head knocking back against the pillows as his lungs struggled for air.
Not able to hold it anymore, Jungkook was quickly flipping your positions. Now it was your turn to be on your back, your legs spread in a wide V shape, his cologne invading your senses and his lips covering yours. He was everywhere, all over you. Your skin was on fire from his touch, sweat soaking your back and air becoming sparse as he kissed away what little oxygen you had left. You were obsessed with him. He was yours as you were his. Nothing would ever change that.
His cock buried itself back into your walls, a deep moan of pleasure getting caught in your throat once he began jackhammering into you. Your hands gripped the bottom of your feet, keeping them apart so he could continue to plow into your soft spot. His hips moved like a well oiled machine, making noisy contact with your ass with every thrust.
Your mouth dropped open, âoh myâŠ..fffucking g-godâŠ!â Tears welled up in your eyes as blinding pleasure spread over every nerve in your body.
Jungkook grunted, his own pleasure peaking at the sight of your fucked out face.
âYeah? You about to cum? Are you gonna what the fuck I say and stop acting so fucking jealous? Huh?â Drool dripped down the sides of your mouth as you tried to form sentences but hurried âyes yes yesâ were the only words you could manage. âHow many times do I have to fuck you before you get that through your thick head? I only want you. Fuck you push my fucking buttons but I know itâs just because you want me to fill up this tight cunt, isnât that right?â A slap came across your cheek, orgasm crashing into your body without warning from the sudden strike.
Jungkook could feel wetness soaking his pelvis and cock, jaw tightening as he began moving even harderâthe headboard knocking into the wall so hard that he doesnât think heâll get his security deposit back for this place.
âJuicy fucking cunt squirting all over me. MhmmmmâŠ.Iâm gonna fill this pussy up. You want that? Want me to send you home with my cum running down your legs?â
Your ears were ringing, his dirty talk propelling you right into another endless orgasm, your toes curling in the air as blissful overstimulation began to take over.
Jungkook wasnât far behind, a few more thrusts and he was burying himself deep in your sopping cunt. His cock throbbed inside you, the thickness pressing right into your abused gspot. Your hands released your feet to scramble against his back, sharp acrylics digging into his skin and making him hiss in slight pain.
âOhhhhhh shitttttttâŠ.fuck baby,â He groaned out as he pumped creamy ropes inside your clenching pussy, your spasming walls sucking him in and milking him for everything he was worth.
Both of you collapsed from exhaustion, Jungkookâs face planting itself in your breasts and your legs falling weakly to the bed with a light thump. Only the sounds of your heavy breathing filled the room, both of your hearts beating wildly as you two came down.
~
âSo am I forgiven?â You asked as you two soaked in the tub, the scent of an apple scented bath bomb wafting around the room.
Jungkook was behind you, head leaned back against the wall as he tried not to fall asleep. âI guess so. Just stop doing that, okay? Itâs so embarrassing.â
âDeal.â
A beat of silence washed over the room, just the sound of water lapping against the sides of the tub filling the space.
âOne more time.â You suddenly said.
âHuh?â
âYou asked me how many times do you have to fuck me before I get it through my thick head to stop being jealous. I think one more will do the trick.â
Jungkook let out a chuckle, opening his eyes only to find your beautiful irises staring back at him with that playful and lustful glint.
âYouâre impossible.â He scoffed with an endearing shake of his head.
âBut you love me.â
âYeah, I do.â

YOUR YUJI FIC WAS SO YUMMY đł I would love a part 2 if youâre ever up for writing it! đ„č
GUESS WHO'S BACK FROM THE FUCKING DEAD. ME. ME. I AM BACK AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH (im sorry i just missed writing). well, anyways, with me comes the power of horny <3
ps: this took me fucking four days to write and i don't even think it's good đđ writers block is a bitch
đ§žlearning some lessons ft. yuuji itadori!
continuation of my previous fic "teaching some lessons", so, i suggest read that first to ensure you're fully immersed into the horny storyline. set-up: yuuji itadori. the quarterback, the guy you're giving "sex ed" lessons, and ofcourse, the brother of your childhood best friend sukuna. what could ever go wrong with this combination? nothing, i hope? warnings: contains nsfw concepts such as yuuji's first time, overstimulation, penetration, a bit of porn logic. and as always, sukuna, nobara and megumi are fucking menaces. stay blessed y'all, and minors DO NOT INTERACT I WILL FIND YOU AND HUNT YOUR ASSES. [ALSO A LITTLE BIT OF TOJI AND GOJO SLANDER IM SORRY] wc: 6.4k porn with A LOT of plot [like 70% plot im sorry]
"dude." megumi's usual nonchalant demeanor had faded in a matter of seconds. now, each of his drawled out words had a certain twinge of dread, "this is actually fucking insane."
"hm?" the pink-haired quarterback didn't even bother to dignify his best friend's statement with a proper answer. he was too busy rapidly pressing the controls, trying to get the shots right.
but megumi's hand had gone slack, the controller barely held limply in his palm. he turned to stare down the forementioned pink-headed idiot. he repeated himself, "yuuji."
"gumiâ" yuuji hissed back, "we're losing, fucking focus."
"you just told me that you're fucking sukuna's best friend. her." megumi deadpanned, "the only thing i need to focus on is arranging your funeral."
yuuji hissed through his teeth as his player got shot right in the head and a definitive 'GAME OVER' flashed all across the tv screen. he sunk backwards into the comfortable couch at the fushiguro household. megumi shifted backwards too, slumping next to his best friend with a resigned sigh.
the house was eerily quiet, save for the sounds of the background score of the game playing in the background. yuuji knew tsumiki was out shopping with her friends, and gojo was out annoying the hell out of someone or the other (possibly, coach nanamin). who else was to be considered in the fushiguro household? toji fushiguro? he was an enigma. he came when he felt like and left just as soon. a model poster boy for giving people daddy issues, yuuji presumed.
"have i told you your couch is super nice?" yuuji asked as he stared at the overhead lighting before sweeping his gaze over the modern living room.
"multiple times."
the quarterback snorted, "you remember the time i got drunkâ"
"âand tried to take the couch home. yes, i do. i also remember the time sukuna chased you with a knife cause you took his last pack of cheetos. imagine what he would do when you take his best friend."
yuuji pouted, giving megumi a side-eye he couldn't miss, "you're no fun."
"be for fucking real." the raved head sat up, turning towards yuuji at lightning speed. his eyes squinted in scrutiny, "you're the one making idle chit-chat as if sukuna isn't gonna kill you the moment he finds out what you and her have been up to."
"yeah butâ" yuuji sighed, rubbing his palms against his face slowly, "is it really that big of a deal? i mean, it's just a few lessons here and there. it's not like she likes me or somethingâ"
"âyeah, she probably won't. ever. considering she called you her little brother."
"oh, fuck off, gumi. that was when we were five."
"just pointing down the obvious."
"i knew i should have told nobara about the situation. she would have given much better advice."
"kugisaki would have laughed at you so hard, she would have cried." megumi got up, probably to get some more chips. as he left, he quipped over his shoulder, "you're catching feelings for someone who doesn't have that kind of interest in you, itadori. you will end up looking like an idiot at the end. and possibly dead."
well, maybe megumi fushiguro had a point. but that point was so goddamn hard to see with your thighs pressed on either sides of his face.
đ§žlesson 04: maybe making girls cry is okay sometimes
"mhm- ngh oh my god. yuu." yuuji placed his tongue flat against your pulsating clit. you bucked into his face, pressing his mouth messily to your hot core as you showered him in breathless praises.
nobody was home. kuna was probably gonna be home later at night and so, you both had decided his room as the venue for your next 'lesson'.
you weren't even sure which numbered orgasm it was at this point. and you weren't sure if you even existed anymore outside of yuuji and his face and his tongue and yuuji.
red, hot need ran it's course through your body as the jock manhandled you. his calloused palms pulled your jerking hips downwards to steady them and then, pulled you hastily towards himself. yur jaw fell open, going slack at the torturous stimulation yuuji had the audacity to hum in approval when you momentarily went slack under him.
"yuuji, yuuji. yuu. pl-please please- stop. st-" tears pricked at your eyes as you called out his name in a futile attempt to get him to stop. your hands bunched at his sweaty locks, pushing and pulling to get his wicked tongue on your sensitive cunt to ease up.
but the jock was unforgiving.
his tongue dipped within you, your muscles contracting and spasming against his pretty face as his nose dug deeper against your clit. his tongue was fast, delving in and out of you methodically as you bucked and keened under his touches. the salty tears fell down your cheeks.
"yuuâ" you mumbled in a weak voice and he finally looked up so as to assess the damage.
"hm?" his mouth finally parted from yours, messy and sticky.
and when yuuji looked up at you, he was sure this is the last sight he would see before he was condemned to hell for the rest of eternity. your eyes were watery, lips swollen and quivering. you could barely keep your vision straight before you clenched your eyes shut and tried to pry him off of yourself.
so fucking pretty that it made him ache. and that only pushed him to kiss inner thigh and lick a soft stripe up your gushing cunt, getting back to what he was previously doing.
"fuck fuck fucâ yuu, no. no more. p-pleaâ fuck." you stomach was full of something hot and molten, something jittery and unstable. something that sounded and tasted a lot like yuuji itadori.
the quarterback stayed on his knees, bringing his forefinger and thumb to pinch and rub your wet clit as your thighs shook, your eyes rolled backwards and your back arched. he grinned â a feral sight â as you finally came undone on his tongue again.
he finally pulled himself upwards, using his discarded tshirt to clean off his face. as he stood before you, all he could do was watch you awestruck.
you were heavenly.
your spent figure was slumped on his bed; t-shirt pushed up to expose your bruised tits and your legs pressed together as you tried to come back on mother earth. your eyes were still closed, cheeks wet from tears and yuuji had to stop himself from begging you to let him fuck you tonight.
but he abstained. of course not. that was insane. you would never let him go that far, would you? so, instead he chose to lie down next to you and pull you into his chest.
you nudged your cheek against his pecs, finding refuge in his warmth and he gladly let you, allowing a small smile on his face. his fingers came up to push back strands of hair from your sweaty forehead and then wipe away the salty tears that had made home against the plane of you cheeks. once he was sure you had caught your breath, he pressed a sweet kiss to your skin. finally, he mumbled, "sorry, did i go too far?"
you shook your head no, curling further into him with ease. and he let you. he shifted his position so as to allow your skin on his, so as to press his nose to your hair and smell that strawberry shampoo, so as to almost pretend for a second that you were his.
but you didn't let the show run for long. a few minutes later, as you felt the energy returning to your body, you attempted to get up.
the jock's eyebrows furrowed, he sat up with you, "something wrong? do you want something? water orâ"
"âno, no." you turned to give him a weak smile, "i think i'm just gonna go shower before kuna is home and he finds me like this."
oh. ofcourse. how could he forget the ever-looming threat that was sukuna?
"can you walk?" he asked earnestly, offering you his tshirt so you could put it on, "i can walk you to the shower, if you want."
"i'll be okay, yuu." you poked your head through his shirt, trying to stand up. but your legs immediately wobbled and you lost balance, "âfuck. okay. i guess not."
yuuji offered you a smile, picking you up bridal style as you squealed at his action. a blush crept up your neck and face, "what are you doing?!"
"what? i think i should be responsible for the mess i create, shouldn't i?" he gave you a cheeky smile, the kind where the cut under his eye came alive and he grinned ear to ear. a boyish grin, perhaps. and you were fortunate enough to be on the recipient end of it.
you weren't sure what it was that you felt for yuuji, or what you didn't. all you knew that right now â as he carried you out of his room clad in a t-shirt that smelt like him â it was as if he was aware of the sudden jump your heart and wanted nothing more than to be the cause of your untimely death.
"you don't have to do this." you mumbled.
what did 'this' refer to, exactly? you weren't quite sure. was it the fact that he had entertained your drunken idea for such a long amount of time? or was if the fact that in the moments even when you weren't offering him something physical, he still looked at you as if you hung up stars in the night sky for him? maybe it was as simple as the fact that he was carrying you to run you a bath.
he stayed quiet and you repeated yourself louder, "really, yuuji, you don't have to."
"i want to." and that was all he said.
you felt his biceps tense under you as he shifted your weight on one arm and attempted to open the door with the other. he gave you a reassuring smile, and you nudged your face against his chest to hide your embarrassment at his simple answer.
once he finally was through, he walked into the lliving room, attempting to make his way to the bathroom down the hallway wheâ
"YUUJI?!" a voice boomed from the door and both of you whipped your head to look at the man that stood there.
ever heard of divine intervention? yeah, this was whatever the fuck is the opposite to that. satanic intervention. cursed intervention, perhaps.
"ONâONICHAN?!"
"CHOSO?!" you scrambled off of yuuji, hitting the ground with a muffled thud.
choso immediately looked away from his half-naked brother and the girl in his brother's t-shirt*.
(*yeah, okay, just try to understand the family dynamics for a second. choso [24] is the oldest and he has graduated uni and has a job now. sukuna and (yn) [21] are in their third year, and yuuji [20] is in his second. choso knows who (yn) is since you and kuna are childhood besties or whatever. so... yeah okay, back to the shitshow đđ»)
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" choso asked loudly, his eyes still averted from you both so as to not accidentally see your exposed form.
"WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" yuuji retorted as you hid behind his broad figure instinctively, trying to recover whatever ounce of modesty you had.
"I OBVIOUSLY HAD THE KEY TO MY OWN HOME?!"
"WELL, DON'T WALK IN UNANNOUNCED? DO YOU HAVE NO MANNERS?"
"yuuji."
"IM SORRY 'NICHAN!!"
and that is how choso found out about your little arrangement. and that is how you both decided to never have another rendezvous session at the itadori's.
đ§žlesson 05: you got this, itadori!
"what the fuck?" megumi asked slowly, eyeing yuuji as the jock shoved some french fries down his mouth.
"YEAH, WHAT THE FUCK?!" nobara repeated, louder. to which, megumi gave her a side-eye, "we're in public, kugisaki."
yuuji took his time, sipping his coke before shrugging, "yeah, so, 'nichan found out."
nobara shook her head, "no. no. turn around 360â"
"â180. 360 makes a circle."
"die, megs. anyways, turn around and tell me that part of the story where you startedâ" the red-head shuddered, "âdoing stuff with senpai. why?! how?! why?! how??"
yuuji took a bite from his burger before saying, "well, she offered."
"fuck that all. it's old news."
"for you. cause, apparently, i was left out of the loopâ"
"âmuch sad. anyways, is choso okay with you and her? or is he gonna snitch you out to sukuna?"
"i mean, no. i don't think so, no." yuuji tried to steal a fry off of nobara's plate and she smacked his hand off, "ow kugisaki! whatever. he gave me a long lecture about how i should actually pursue her and officially ask her out if we wanna keep doing this. after that, for whatever unrelated reason, he cried about how quickly we grew up."
"virgin behavior." nobara stuck out a tongue, quickly reeling out of her disbelief over the fact that yuuji was getting some, "i mean, that's old-fashioned. you don't have to date her, you know?"
"but your brother's not wrong, is he?" megumi offered. "don't keep doing this just cause you want a way to get your dick wet."
"megs, it's not 1920. they are consensual adults and they can just fool around if they're on the same page."
"yeah but about thatâ" yuuji tried to sneak in a fry from megumi's plate now, "âi think i'm in love with her. and i am pretty sure the feelings are one-sided."
"huH?!"
"what?" the jock looked at the two dumbfounded, "i like her. she's pretty and smart and i thinkâ i like her."
he didn't think he liked you. he knew that he was whole-heartedly, as stupidly as humanly possible, in love with you.
but he didn't bother mentioning the fact.
he didn't bother mentioning a plethora of things, in fact. first, that his heart had been offered to you at the ripe age of four when he first realized that sunlight got caught against your hair strands somewhat magically, and when you smiled, he smiled; and that when he cried, you kissed his imaginary wounds better even when sukuna made fun of him.
he didn't bother mentioning that when he asked you to marry him, there was only such a small part of him that was 'joking', the larger chunk of him would have exchanged his soul for some sort of forbidden alchemy to be with you.
he didn't bother mentioning that when he was thirteen, a slew of girls had asked to be his girlfriend, and he had turned down each one of them to sneak in his first kiss with you.
but all those years of pining just turned into a small ball of anxiety, ever-growing in his stomach. he knew you didn't feel the same. so, he didn't bother saying any of that. because, well, frankly, his situation seems just a tiny-teensy bit pathetic.
"i guess i just like her... just a bit." he repeated, more to himself than others.
"we heard the first time. and the second."
"DUDE" nobara's eyes widened, "she's sukuna's best friend."
"hey, what happened to the fact that we are consensual adults fooling around?"
"oh no, fuck that. i was humoring you." nobara shook her head, "sukuna's gonna murder you."
"yeah, i know." yuuji sighed, his playfulness replaced by something more mature, "i am not gonna ask her out. i think i'm gonna call thisâ whatever this isâ off. i don't want her to lose her friendship with 'kuna, and she... well, she probably doesn't like me anyways."
megumi and nobara exchanged a sorry expression among themselves before looking back to yuuji. but the jock put on a smile, "ah it's fine, it was fun while it lasted." he leaned back in his seat, "wanna catch a movie after this? human earthworm is out."
so the quarterback had gone back home that day with a certain resolve. he would call this off.
he put on his lucky red sweatshirt, put on the cologne you had complimented once when he had gone for one of his lessons, and he put on his best fake smile. as he passed by sukuna in the living room, he guiltily looked away from him and walked out of the door as soon as possible.
"where ya going?" the tatted man asked, not looking up from his phone.
"nowheâ" he sighed, running a hand through his hair before he bent downwards to put on his shoes, "with gumi and nobara. we're going to the arcade."
"you've been hanging out with the fushiguro kid quite a lot nowadays. a lot of sleepovers."
yuuji's fingers halted, slowly fidgeting with the shoelaces before he threw sukuna a casual look, "he's my friend. and his dad is out of town so i go over. got an issue?"
"nah, do whatever." kuna met his eyes but then went back to his phone without saying much. a beat later, he continued, "well, let me know if you'd be home in time for dinner."
yuuji stood up, dusting off his clothes, "you're cooking today?"
"yeah, thought i'd invite her over. she likes that pasta i make."
at the mention of you, yuuji looked over sukuna once. a sharp sting suddenly erupted in his chest like someone had hit him. hard. and, so, without saying anything more, the younger itadori immediately left through the main door.
things must end.
âïœĄïŸâïžïœĄâïœĄ ïŸâŸ ïŸïœĄâ
his fingers skimmed over the ringing bell in front of your apartment as his feet nervously shuffled around at the door. he knew you were on the other side, waiting for him. as the door swung open, he was face to face with your housemate.
"hey?" maki raised an eyebrow, a smug smile on her lips. she was dressed as if she was leaving to go somewhere, "she's in her room."
yuuji simply pursed his lips, nodded and moved past his senior. before walking into your room, he stalled in front of the door, threw his head back to catch maki about to leave, "kugisaki says hi, by the way."
and if yuuji didn't know any better, he would have assumed the glare maki gave was one well-intended to kill him.
he wasn't sure if the room was chilly or if the reason for goosebumps was something else, but nonetheless, he shut the door behind him and stepped into the room. as he came in view with the bed, he found you casually on your back, scrolling your phone.
"yuuji!" you smiled as you sat up, a familiar warmth spreading over your face at his presence. but he merely nodded, his lips drawn into a thin line.
"um," you fidgeted, standing up hastily and laughing to ease the awkwardness, "so, uhâ did maki let you in?"
"yeah, she did."
"oh, well, she's going out, so we don't need to worry about her." you paused for a second before your expression fell and you tried again, "hey?"
but a same monotone expression fell across his face, "hey."
"um... is something wrong? in a bad mood or something?"
"not quite." yuuji rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at the cold, wooden floors, "i wanted to talk. to you, i mean."
you nodded, although he didn't look up at you to register your expression. he continued softly, "we should stop this."
"what?"
"iâ" he looked up at you, quickly sneaking in a steadying breath, "i wanted to thank you for the 'lessons'. it's been fun and i learnt so much, really. but you don't have to do it anymoâ"
"why?" you interrupted, "did someone find out?"
"what? no."
"then?" you stepped towards him, your unyielding gaze trained on his face, "do you not... want to do it with me anymore?"
"no, ofcourse not." his eyes widened and he stepped forward in a desperate attempt to comfort you. his palms found purchase against your cheek, "no. that's not what i meant."
"what do you mean then?" you looked up at him, confused.
"i-" he looked at you softly, "i really can't ruin your friendship with sukuna anymore. we need to stop. it has gone for... for way too long, now, hasn't it?"
"âit's just been a few months."
"come on. we both know we need to stop." he confessed, and as his words left you hollow, so did his touch. he pulled away from you and stepped back a teensy bit to allow you some space. "it will be for the best."
you looked at him for a beat. and then one more. finally, "kiss me."
and the jock obliged without any hesitation. his lips were familiar against yours, his hands on your cheek, and his body weight pressing onto you and pushing you backwards into the bed.
the back of your knees hit the wooden frame and you stumbled backwards, falling onto the bed with a muffled thud. but yuuji didn't bother following you and caging you underneath him. instead, he stood at the edge, waiting.
"yuu?" you asked softly.
"are you sure about this?"
and you weren't sure if he was asking that question to you or himself. you weren't sure if his fingers were shaking from the betrayal or the need to hold you against him. but you nodded your head anyways, "yeah. if this is it. if this is the last time then indulge in my stupid ideas one last time." you paused, "please?"
he nodded before swiftly throwing off his hoodie off of his torso an onto the floor. bruises from a few days before laid tattered across his tan skin and his biceps flexed and moved as he slowly caged you under him.
"fuck," he breathed in slowly, taking in your low-lidded gaze, "you're so fuckin' pretty."
your fingers found solace in his pinkish locks and you pulled him closer â till your skin smelt like his perfume and his stuttered breath hit your lips, "yuuji."
"hm?" his eyes ran over your face, and the adoration in his eyes made you feel like he would set the world aflame if you so as even asked him to.
"fuck me."
his pupils widened, cheeks flushed and a breathless gasp got stuck in his throat. at his reaction, you pulled him downwards, kissing him softly before the tendrils of passing seemed to nip down on both of you. soon after, you were nothing more than messy kisses, clashing teeth and wrong decisions.
"fuuckâ ha-harder." he moaned as your fingernails sunk into his scalp, pulling him harder against yourself.
your hands travelled downwards to his chest and you pushed him away only to turn him around and straddle his hips. your pelvis rolled over his, the delicious friction driving you delirious as you peered down at the man under you â kiss-bitten lips, tousled hair, flushed cheeks.
yuuji itadori looked at you as if you were his god.
and you played along. rolling your hips, tracing a finger from his jaw down to his pecs as your lips traced the path with soft kisses soon after.
his hips stuttered, trying to meet your shallow teases before he mumbled out a soft, "take off your clothes."
you smiled, putting on a show for him as you slipped out of your tshirt. leaving yourself exposed to his preying eyes, you slowly took off the bra.
"shit, look at you." he raised himself on his elbows, coming upwards to softly kiss your warm skin before slowly licking over your nipple as another hand fondled the other. your head was thrown back at the feeling of his warm mouth on you while his fingers softly tugged at the other.
soon after that, you found yourself rocking yourself on his long fingers as he sunk his teeth in your neck, getting off on the pretty sounds you made as you rut against him almost as desperately as he was. when he caught you sinking your teeth into your bottom lip, trying to stay quiet, he pulled your face towards his and kissed you senseless. when he pulled away, his hot breath fanned over your lips, "don't. let me hear, please."
and so senseless moans tumbled down your lips as you you came, still rutting against his hand.
when your breath stilled and you finally met his gaze, all you could was breath out an airy, "fuck me, please."
flushed face, hazy eyes, your mouth parted so prettily at the end of the sentence. who was itadori yuuji to deny you of anything?
"say that again."
đ§žlesson 06: fuck it up, itadori!
"n-no protection? are you... sure?"
god, he was adorable.
you held back a laugh as you re-assured him a millionth time, "i'm on birth control, so, no. trust me."
"hm. hm." his breath was caught in his throat as if it were a jagged rock. your hands on his torso felt warm â too warm â as if they would char him and you blinked up at him so prettily as you laid atop those pillows.
"i- one second. i-" his voice was thick, hands slightly shaking as he tried to guide his erection into your slick cunt.
"yuu," you cooed and he looked at you in part hope, part confusion. a laugh escaped you at his expression, "you look like a kicked puppy."
"so-sorry, imjustnervousâ" he mumbled, his eyes avoiding yours.
"yuu," you repeated, "this is your first time, right?"
he nodded so softly that it was entirely too easy to miss it. you held back an amused grin, "let me help, okay?"
shockwaves ran through his body as your soft hand slowly took ahold of his dick and ran the tip over your clit, gathering your wetness on the mushroom tip. you both held back a choked sigh as your hand continued the same up and down, up and down, up and down motion till you felt as if yuuji was going to cry just from the teasing.
"h-heyâ"
"sorry, sorry. no more teasin', i promise." you replied cheekily, fingers finally guiding him to your sloppy hole. and as the tip finally pushed past the first ring of feeble resistance, a shuddering gasp left the man above you.
pushing in inch by inch, you gasped at the sinful stretch of him filling you. your walls spasmed slightly against him, hugging him so sinfully tight that he wondered if he would pass out just right now. but he couldn't. so he commanded himself to keep moving forward till he was all but buried within you.
"s-shit." his breath was heavy against the dip of your neck and you ran a soft hand through his hair, "you okay, yuu?"
"ye-yeah." he shook his head slowly, descending down on you to sink his teeth into your skin again as he started moving slowly.
"jus like thatâ yeah."
at first his thrusts were slow and shallow, as if he was just testing the waters. but as you found you keening into his touches and moaning as his tip rubbed against a certain spot, he grew sure of his actions.
his thrusts were now harder, a bit more precise and his tempo increased as you dug your heels on his back and tugged on his hair to keep him going.
"jesus" you gasped, back arching off slowly as his lower abs caught friction against your clit and his dick started ramming into your with a periodic rhythm. "fu-fuck is it your fuckin first time? for fucks sake, yuuji nghâ"
his breath was laboured, a thin layer of sweat adorning his forehead and nose, "im a quick learner, fuckâ you're shi-shit, you're so fucking perfect."
lifting himself up slightly, his hand snaked in between your bodies and he found himself thumbing at your clit with ease.
"yuujiâ" your voice pitched up as his circles grew in pressure. already overstimulated from his administrations on your poor cunt, you felt the pressure building inch by inch till it grabbed ahold of your body and shook you to your very core.
under him, you grabbed hastily at the sheets, at the pillow, at his hair, at anything to keep yourself on this plane of consciousness as he kept drawing messy figures on your clit and fucked into your cervix with reckless abandon.
and that unsteady, familiar feeling grew and grew and grew till it turned your body to jello and burst inwards, "f-fuck shit, ohmygod im cummin im cummin im cummâ FUCK YUUJIâ"
his fingers pressed hastily against your lips but the cockiness in his voice practically dripped off of him and onto you, "shh, someone might hear, pretty."
his thrusts grew erratic, nudging him more and more towards a certain, familiar kind of high. his face found solace against your shuddering body as he cursed and spilled inside you.
"fuck." he cursed one last time as he breathed you in, just laying atop you having spent himself.
he slowly pulled himself upwards, pressing a chaste kiss to your nose, and you gave him a spent smile, the kind that had quickly became his favorite. he slowly pulled himself out, and caught the milky white gushing out of your cunt.
and with that, itadori yuuji lost all sanity.
next you knew, your face was being pressed into the mattress, your cunt being ravaged by his unforgiving dick ramming in and out easily.
"fuc-fuck, sogood so fuckin' goodâ"
his chest was against your back, his weight pressing down on your so deliciously and trapping you under him. you pressed your face harder into the mattress, screaming out muffled renditions of his name as he softly pinched your clit.
"i'm sorry, baby, im so fuckin' sorry" but he sounded anything but sorry as he whispered hotly in your ear, both his fingers and his dick doing everything in their power to turn you into nothing more than a woman maddened with his touch.
your fingers sunk into the sheets underneath, your death-grip growing even more deadlier as he fucked into you as a man depraved.
"this 'sthe last time," his words slurred as he left sloppy kisses down your neck, "promise, i promise."
but those promises were nothing more than candied words on his pretty lips, because now he had you on top of him, your back against his chest, his heels digging into your mattress dangerously as he fucked up into you.
"yuuâ yuuJI pleaseplease pleâ fucking fucâ" your voice grew in pitch, unresolved tears falling down your face as his hands fondled your tits, tugging and tweaking the nipples to his liking, and your own familiar fingers toyed with your clit.
how could he go on for so fucking long? jesus fucking christ.
"i play varsi- fuck varsity," he answered softly, "this is nothin' for me."
he pressed a soft kiss to your neck as his cock split you apart for the nth time and you fell apart on top of the man who claimed to love you more than he loved life and reason itself.
"don't." his voice grew desperate, a hand coming to hold yours over your overstimulated, abused clit, "i didn- say you could stop, did i? keep going. please. one more. fuck. please."
"yuuji stopâ"
"âgive me one more, please."
"pleasepleasepleaseâ" you sobbed, your body arching off of him as he brought you to another one orgasm. you eyes rolled back into your skull, a bit of drool dangerously on your bottom lip, and your body went slack so as to let him do as he pleased.
your cunt gushed on his dick, spraying you both in your juices he thrusted into one last time, spilling into your overfilled pussy all over again with a breathless string of pants and moans.
the quarterback collapsed backwards onto your bed with you on top of him. he reluctantly pushed the weight of your sweaty body off of him, and instinctively pressed another kiss to your head.
his hand came up to push back the sweaty hair strands that stuck to you like second skin, and to thumb at the furious blush on your cheeks. your eyes fluttered upwards at him, you barely managing a smile, "thankyou."
"for what?" he turned to his side, taking every feature of you in with a small smile. a beat passed him by in the serene room before he found his heart weighing heavily and lodging itself between his lungs.
"you're so pretty" he found himself mumbling, "i wish i- i wish i could..." but he caught himself before he could make a fool of himself and confess to a passed out girl. he bit the inside of his cheek. maybe it was better if he just left wordlessly. "nothing."
you were asleep. he knew that. but then why did you snuggle closer and whispered a soft, "i love you."
"âhuH?!" any and all sanity left the jock at this point. his eyes as wide as saucers as he stared down your softly snoring form, "what did you just say?"
but you said nothing, still softly snoring in your goddamn sleep and yuuji felt like he was going insane. did you say it??? did he imagine it??? is this a punishment from the devil (sukuna) itself??? what was real anymore? was he real???
and hey what does a panicked twenty year old does when faced with the possible conundrum of his crush of fifteen years having feelings for him?? he runs.
yuuji itadori never had put on his clothes faster than he did right this moment. hastily putting one leg into the sweats and then another, he dashed to make his way to the door. before stepping out, he looked back at you one last time.
fuck itadori, are you dumb?! she doesn't love you like that. it's the post-sex hormones. his consciousness begged in the voice of megumi fushiguro, which was a bit concerning cause was the voice of reason in his head megumi fushiguro?!
but that was not the issue at hand right now. his voice of reason could be questioned another time. right now? running. yes, that was the plan.
the lock softly clicked and he stepped out into the living room before closing the door ever so slowly behind him.
"done fucking?"
and yuuji's blood ran cold.
he whipped around to peer at a certain, tatted delinquent who was sat on the couch in the living room, "brother?"
"brother? huh?" sukuna laughed, the sound so chilling that yuuji felt his blood freeze ad turn into cement, "bringing out the formalities?"
yuuji's tongue got stuck in his throat and sukuna stood up slowly, holding up his hands in mock surrender, "she wouldn't pick up my calls, and i had a spare key. sorry if i'm fuckin imposing."
"'kuna," yuuji's voice was quiet, "it's not what he looks like."
"hm, it is not?" he flashed the younger itadori an amused smile, "ofcourse it is not. what do you think i think you both did?"
"fu-fucked?" the jock swallowed hard.
"bingo."
"i didn't." yuuji didn't know if he was begging for forgiveness, and if yes, then what for? for betraying sukuna's trust or for feeling satisfied that his brother knew of his conquests?
"you didn't? from what i heard, she seemed a little too happy in there." and now sukuna stood mere inches apart, his hand balled into a neat fist.
"kunâ" but yuuji's right cheek bore the fate of getting punched by sukuna.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? MY BEST FUCKING FRIEND, YUUJI?"
the jock nursed his cheek, still reeling from the attack. but a certain flame came alive. he wasn't a fucking child. "YEAH, YOUR FUCKING BEST FRIEND."
sukuna looked at him in disbelief, "how fucking could you? she meaNS SHIT TO ME, YOU FUCKFACE."
"âSO DOES SHE TO ME."
the man stepped insanely closer, grabbing ahold of yuuji's hoodie's collar, "THEN WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU RUNNING AWAY FROM HER RIGHT NOW? HUH?"
the two boys heaved heavily, anger boiling hot through their veins. finally yuuji spat up, "she told me she loved me."
sukuna's grasp loosened, "what?"
"she fucking told me she loved me."
"and you're running?" sukuna looked at his brother with a strange look. disappointment, perhaps?
"i- it's a mistake. she doesn't." yuuji looked downwards, trying not to show his pain in his soft words, "and... i didn't want to fucking hurt you, asshole."
"so you're a coward?" the tatted man scoffed.
and yuuji pushed his brother back, "fuck you."
"no." sukuna's gaze hardened, "you fuck off, you stupid fucking dipshit. she told you she loves you, and you ran?"
"for fucks sake, sukuna" yuuji breathed in slowly, "i thought you'd be elated she probably doesn't."
"you fucked around with her for god knows how long, pretending i didn't know." sukuna stepped back, his words quieter.
"you knew?"
"i'm not dumb, of course i fucking knew." he paused, "and 'nichan told me."
"jesus fucking christ, 'nichan." yuuji looked down at the floors, "what now?"
"grow a pair, and actually ask her out."
"what?" the jock looked up, confused, "you- wait, you are saying i should ask her out?"
sukuna shrugged, "you've compromised her. you must follow through with the consequences."
"did you watch too much bridgerton? what the fuck is compromised??"
"i did, 'nichan made me watch it. pleasantly surprising, actually." and yuuji was immediately mentally slapped with the image of sukuna enjoying bridgerton.
"huh?" yuuji softly shook his head, "so... what? i like have your blessing or whatever to ask her out?"
the delinquent made a face of disgust, "i'm not a priest, what the fuck do you mean by blessing? yeah, just fucking ask her out."
"and what if she says no?"
"then i will remind you of your failure everyday in life."
yuuji looked at his brother awestruck, "thanks, kuna."
"don't. when you come back home, im gonna beat you to a pulp for fucking my best friend."
"i deserve it."
"fuck yeah, you do." the older itadori made his way to the main entrance, "go fix shit."
and as sukuna left through the door, itadori yuuji slipped back into your room, crawled back into bed with you, and held you close to his chest. softly, as a giddy smile overtook his features, he mumbled, "i love you too."
next morning you woke up next to a fully-clothed yuuji with a swollen right cheek.
"yuu?! why are you dressed?! and what the fuck happened to your cheek?!"
"i fell off your bed."
"what the actual fuck?!"

the living situation * fem!driver
living with the opposite gender should be more complicated than it is, but when you've been best friends your entire life, it isn't even that weird. right?
pairings: logan sargeant x fem!driver
notes: um, we move forward with the logan x femdriver storyline in the og universe HELL YEAH anyway this is all still in 2023 ok! have a good day everybody!
(series masterlist) | (đ the rookie season)
she presses her lips together, stumbling slightly as she tries to peel the heels off her legs. she tilts her head to try and get a look inside her apartment to assess if logan is still awake.
when she's sure that the living room is completely empty, she puts her shoes on the shoe rack and starts walking in. she's looking down at her phone, sending lily a quick text about how another one of her dates simply blew.
she sighs when she enters the living room. she drops herself on the couch and throws her phone next to her when she sends the text message. she throws her head back on the backrest and looks up at the ceiling.
"stupid," she mutters to herself, shaking her head. "what makes you think you'd ever be able to date anybody normally?"
she flinches when she hears a door open, jumping up when it opens and logan walks out. "oh." he raises his eyebrows at the sight of her, standing still where he is with a mug in his hand. "home so soon? i wasn't expecting you until midnight at best."
"yeah, i cut the date short," she smiles tiredly. she moves to the side when logan approaches her and occupies the empty spot. "he had too much to say about my participation in f1."
"he's a dick. i'm sorry," logan says. "are you okay?"
she shrugs. "maybe i'm just not supposed to date anybody at all. maybe i should just be alone."
"don't say that," logan laughs, poking her shoulder. "90 per cent of guys are weird. trust that you'll find the right guy for you."
she shrugs again. she turns to him, barely being able to make out his features in the darkness of their apartment. she could some how imagine the small smile he's giving her and the way his green eyes are empathetically looking at her. "i don't know. i think i'll just be a cat lady."
"i'll go and fetch the moët," logan giggles, somehow finding her knee to pat. his touch lingers a second longer than she expects, her heart suddenly skipping a quick beat in her chest, and he pushes himself up and walks to the kitchen.
she shakes her head as she pulls her jacket off her shoulders. this tingling that she feels in her chest at his touch is just a result of another failed date. there is nothing more to it.
and, if you spend this much time around your best friend and roommate, it's probably normal to fantasize about dating them sometimes, right? right?
or, at least that's what she tells herself when she finds herself laying in her bed alone during nights she can't seem to get some sleep. sometimes she thinks about grabbing her stuffed animal and knocking on logan's bedroom door to find some solace.
but would it even be worth it?
logan opens the door quietly, glancing over his shoulder to smile at the girl out in the hallway. he holds the door with his body and moves aside to let her in.
"um, just," he whispers, staring at the ground, "take off your shoes here. my roommate's very particular about shoes inside the apartment."
he tilts his head and tries to look further into the apartment, unsure if it's a good time to even be bringing his date back home. surely, she would be asleep, right? it's 3 in the morning.
he keeps his hand on his date's shoulder as he navigates further into the apartment. he quickly scoops stubby into his arms when he approaches, not wanting to draw attention to himself. and knowing her, she would try to make a friend out of his date and he would objectively lose another date to her.
but he is mildly confused when he approaches the living room, slightly illuminated by the tv. he moves his attention to the couch and sighs when she's curled up into a ball, a blanket loosely hanging over her feet and a stuffed animal in her arms.
"this one's my room," he whispers, opening the door to his bedroom. "do you want a glass of water? any snacks?"
the girl smiles, shaking her jacket off. he switches on the lights. "maybe a glass of water, please. thank you."
"alright, i'll be back. this is stubby." he bends down and puts the corgi on the ground, smiling when he accompanies the girl who is walking over to his bed. "give me a minute, okay?"
she smiles at him as he closes the door, briefly watching her interact with stubby. he turns back to the tv and sighs softly, quietly padding around the living room to get to her on the couch. he drops himself into a kneel and grabs her shoulder, shaking her as gently as possible so as not to startle her.
"yeah, i'm watching bluey, but it's not weird," she says under her breath, sitting up quickly. she tilts her head. "oh, you're home. how was your date?"
"she's in my bedroom. are you okay? you fell asleep on the couch," logan smiles, moving back slightly. "and bluey? seriously?"
"i'm educating myself on how to be the parent i'll never be," she shrugs, gesturing towards the tv. "why are you here with me when your date's inside the room?"
"you should get some rest where it's comfortable," he sighs, pushing himself up to stand. "the couch isn't good for your back. or your neck. or your arms, with the way you were positioned earlier."
"wow, who crowned you ruler of the couch surfers?" she jokes, standing up and gathering her items from the couch. she smiles as logan leaves her to walk into the kitchen. folding her blankets over her chest and grabbing her stuffed toy from the couch, she then walks to her bedroom door as logan approaches his. "do you need me to take stubby?"
"no, uh," logan presses his lips together, "i'm not sleeping with her. she's really great. i think i'll take it slow."
a small smile spreads her lips. she releases a heavy breath and takes a step away from logan. admittedly, it does slightly sting that he's suddenly connecting emotionally with someone who's not her. but they're just friends, after all.
"oh, that's great," she whispers. "i'll make pancakes for breakfast - if she's still around."
"goodnight," logan smiles before disappearing into his bedroom. "rest well, dude."
she stares at logan's bedroom door for a moment. perhaps the crush she thought she got over three years ago never went away, because why did her chest feel fuzzy at the thought of logan getting serious with someone else?
she pushes her hair behind her ear and she opens her bedroom door. she wouldn't get sleep that night, completely distracted by the conversation and giggles that would occasionally get too loud in the bedroom next to her.
"come off it," is the first thing that logan hears when he wakes up from his nap. at the foot of his bed, stubby is curled up and staring at him with wide eyes.
"is that (y/n)?" he asks the corgi, but giggles to himself when he realises that he's speaking to a dog. although, he would definitely start freaking out if stubby were to answer him. "who is she fighting with?"
he looks at the cat resting his head on the corgi's body. "do you know who she's fighting with?"
the cat simply meows at it before his eyes flutter closed, nuzzling his cheeks into stubby's body. logan nods to himself as he slowly climbs out of bed and creaks the door open to get a glance at the girl in the living room.
"seriously, you should just go," he sees her throwing her arms into the air and walking towards the entryway of their apartment. "i can't believe you thought i was going to sleep with you!"
"you invited me up for coffee. it's 11 in the evening!" he hears a deeper voice answer her. he raises an eyebrow, opening the door slightly wider to get a look at the person in his living room.
he didn't even know that she left for a date, much less leave the apartment in the first place.
"tea! i invited you up for a cup of tea!" she shrieks. he watches with a small smile when she comes back into his view and starts to yank the unnamed man towards their door. "just go! you're disgusting!"
"how, exactly?"
"like i prepared a cup of tea and i came back to you naked in my living room," she mutters.
with the revelation, logan could no longer contain his shock. he audibly gasps, followed by a giggle that he couldn't hold back. her head snaps over to where he is and he takes it upon himself to open the door to show himself to them.
"mate, you should listen to the lady and go," logan mutters, gesturing towards the door. he giggles as he clasps his hands together. "because if she doesn't beat you up, i will."
"piss off. this has nothing to do with you."
she raises an eyebrow and tilts her head. "you don't think i could beat you? want me to show you out in the hall?" she scoffs, shoving the man towards the door again. "just go! make this as least painful as you can for the betterment of your health."
it takes a while for her to get him out of their apartment, but when she does, logan steps out of his room with a loud laugh. "mate, do you have the magnetic force to attract all the weirdos of the earth?"
"shut up, logan," she scoffs, rolling her eyes. she closes the front door behind her and pulls her hair back. she's still in what she'd worn out: the floral d&g dress that she's decided to make her signature outfit and a fluffy white jacket to keep her from the cold. "seriously, i'm going to be single for the rest of my life! it's not funny!"
"you're only 21, calm down," logan laughs and walks into the kitchen. he sighs when he opens the fridge, and then the freezer to be greeted with empty and unstocked shelves. "wanna head to oscar and lily's? i'm sure they have dinner."
"hey, what's wrong?" she asks, walking into the living room. she is greeted by the sight of logan drinking wine straight from the bottle with stubby in his lap. "are you alright?"
"i got dumped," logan mutters, taking another swig of the wine. he looks down at his phone and doesn't spare her another stare. "not really. it's just easier to say it like that."
"oh, i'm so sorry," she mutters. but she doesn't approach him. she turns on her heel and heads right into the kitchen, making logan throw his head back and a hand into the air to question the way she is handling the situation.
she comes back out with a wine bottle in her hand, already opening the bottle halfway. "i don't know how to make you feel better. and i know you won't talk about it until you're ready," she smiles. she takes the empty spot next to logan and folds her legs under her body. "so i'll just drink with you."
"how do you know that? i could tell you about it right now and you'd be too wasted to give me advice," logan mutters, dropping his phone.
she scowls. "i've lived with you half my life. you think i don't know what you're like after a breakup?" she laughs and throws the cork on their coffee table. "that's funny."
"which one are you drinking?" logan mutters, reaching over to take a look at her bottle. "oh, rosé. fancy."
"just drink," she mutters. she holds the bottle up towards logan. to which, he clinks his own bottle with hers as they individually sip their wine in silence.
they drink objectively quick at first: talking about the year they just had with every chug of their wine in their hands. eventually, she wound up with her feet in logan's lap. stubby has run off to drink some water from his bowl and never left the designated feeding area in their apartment.
suddenly they've halved their wine. both bottles are on the coffee table as she lies back on the couch, giggling when logan grabs her calf. "i just think the male population should be taxed whenever they want to speak," she slurs, lifting her head slightly to look at logan. "thoughts?"
"agree. i wish people would stop asking me questions," logan shakes his head. "i just want to be by myself."
and when there's merely a couple of sips left in their wine, they're now on the floor. their feet are up on the couch and their backs are against the cold material of the floor. her hair is sprawled on the floor with her hands over her stomach.
there's a redness that peeks through her cheeks and neck as she feels herself grow more intoxicated through the night. meanwhile, logan is next to her completely red with a coy smile on his face.
"do you remember three years ago?" she mutters, eyelids fluttering close as her voice becomes softer with every word.
"a lot happened three years ago," logan giggles. "i had a crush on you three years ago."
"that's what i'm talking about."
she turns her head to look at him, a lump growing in her throat when logan is already looking at her. "i should have made a move," logan whispers to her with a small smile. "is that what you were getting at? that's why you brought it up?"
"should have?" she whispers, lifting an eyebrow at him.
"well, yeah," logan shrugs, tearing his eyes away from her to look up at the ceiling. "it's different now. it's complicated now, don't you think?"
"i guess," she whispers, letting her stare linger before looking back up at the ceiling. "are you going to remember any of this in the morning?"
"i don't think so. i can't feel my face."
"that's because you soloed the red wine."
"you soloed the rosé - you're not that much better than me."
she breathes out. "we're just as bad as each other, i guess."
she freezes when she feels logan patting around the ground, eventually finding her hand on her stomach. he tears her hands off one another, intertwining his fingers with hers and rests their hands between their bodies.
"you know we can't, right?" she whispers suddenly, squeezing his hand. "there's too much on the line. for you. for me."
"just give me this one," logan says, just barely above a whisper. he reciprocates the squeeze, pulling their hands closer to his body. "not like we'll remember it in the morning."
"yeah, okay."
but she wakes up that morning alone in her bed, with a glass of water and an advil pill on the bedside table. she sighs softly and lifts her hands to her sight. she can still vividly remember how logan's hands felt in hers.

LET THE GAME RUN OUR DESTINY
Jim Halpert x fem!reader Word count: 900 words Warnings: Nothing, just fluff, I guess. Summary: You decide to play this game you bought, The Sims 2, to cure your boredom in the office.
Another boring day at Dunder Mifflinâs, but not really.
The camera zooms in on your computer monitor from a distance, revealing youâre playing The Sims 2. You hear a door thud, Michael coming out of the office, and you quickly hide The Sims with your mail.
ââââââ
(your interview with the camera crew)
âJim helped me install this game I bought yesterday, called The Sims. Itâs so addicting.â Cut. âNo, just random characters, that I chose at the start of the game,â you clear your throat. âNo one specific.â
ââââââ
(Jim's separate interview with the crew)
âYeah, I helped her install it, but if she gets into trouble because of it,â he throws his hand into the air, âI have nothing to do with it.â
ââââââ
The cameraman pans over to your face, catching you being extremely focused on the game.
Time today goes really slowly, but the game is saving it. Not for Jim though. Jim is so bored, he hasnât talked to you the whole afternoon because of the game. The game literally sucked you in. He decides to walk over to see what youâre playing. You quickly hide it, acting like nothing just happened. Jim raises his eyebrows.
âWhat? Nothing,â you try to play it cool.
âCome on, let me see! I am curious what it looks like.â He tries.
You blush a little, pretending youâre going through your mail. âNo.â
He looks at you hurt. âAlright then, Iâll go back to boring myself, also known as, doing work.â He playfully grunts.
You chuckle at his joke, minimizing the mail window to play the game again.
After some time, the lunch break comes. You decide not to worry about the game being opened, because no one will go around your desk anyway.
Jim, still on a call with a client, signals you to go ahead, and you walk to the break room first. Jim finishes the call, hanging up the phone. He wants to throw away his Jell-O cup, still from the morning. He goes to the nearest trash can, which is next to your desk. He throws it away, suddenly amazed by something on your desk. He leans to get a closer look at your screen. He smiles to himself.
âShe did us in that game. Me and her.â He smiles downwards. âOh, she said those are random characters?â He chuckles. âWhat a coincidence.â He stretches all the aâs in the last sentence.
Jim finally comes into the break room, sitting down at the table.
âHey.â He says.
âHey, Jim.â You smile at him as you slurp in your noodles.
âSo, how are we doing?â He asks casually.
You respond, not getting the secret message behind it. âIâm doing pretty good, did all the calls Michael told me to do.â
âNo...â He chuckles. âI meant, how are we doing?â He asks, pointing his head back to the main room.
You look at him, genuinely confused. Suddenly you realize it. You put your head into your palm, covering your eyes in embarrassment.
Jim chuckles, his eyes glinting with amusement. âItâs okay, really,â he reassures you, sensing your embarrassment. âItâs funny. By the way, thanks for making me look like Prince Charming.â
You peek through your fingers, a hint of a smile on your lips. âI might have spent a little too much time on your character,â you admit.
Jim grins, taking a bite of his sandwich. He leans back in the chair, the chair making a small squeak. âAlright, so, whatâs our story in The Sims? Are we a family? Colleagues? Maybe lovers?â A small smirk plays on his lips.
You feel your cheeks heating up again. âWell, I didnât get too far with the storyline yet, but weâre housemates. We live together.â
âOh, really?â Jim raises an eyebrow, clearly enjoying this. âHousemates, huh?â
You shrug, trying to act nonchalant. âIt just seemed easier than having to switch between two houses all the time, you know. Plus it saves money.â
âYeah, right,â Jim says with a big amused smile on his lips. He leans forward, his eyes locking with yours.
You stare at him, heart pounding. âWhat?â
Jim shrugs, still smiling. âWhat if we let that game decide what we do in real life.â
Your eyes widen. âWhat?â
He chuckles softly. âWhatever happens in the game we have to do. Up for the challenge?â
You feel a smile spreading across your face. âAlright, then.â
Jimâs grin widens. âGreat.â He stands up, finishing his sandwich. âShall the computer decide our destiny.â
You shake your head with a smile, feeling a rush of excitement as you watch Jim leave the room.
You decide to make yourself a cup of coffee before heading back to your desk. You walk up to your desk, stopping in disbelief. You see the screen, the characters stopped in time while theyâre kissing. You look over at Jim, who is trying to hold in his laugh, avoiding eye contact. You deduce he did that. But you still feel a bit of blush run over your cheeks.
âVery funny, Jim.â You roll your eyes, but you canât help but smile.
âWhat! You agreed to let it run our destiny.â He shrugs his shoulders at you.
You resume the gameplay, seeing what the characters will do next.
âWow, theyâre heading to bed now,â you announce with sarcastically no emotion.
He bursts out laughing, trying to keep quiet.
Such a dork.

fabulam diu oblitus - postlude.
synopsis: The tale of the raven and the sparrow has long been forgotten by most, but some will always remember.
includes: dottore w/ gn! reader
notes: This is the fourth part of this fic, please read the other parts first! It seems that the fairy tale of you and Dottore comes to an end. Follows some of Sumeru's storyline. Warning for death. Angst. Thank you to my mootie @kaixserzz and my all of my dear anons (đ, đ <3) who kept me inspired to keep writing this fic :3
prelude. first interlude. second interlude. postlude. sequel.
âThe raven and butterflyâs happiness continued for much longer. But of course, every creature is aware that nothing lasts forever, and even the lightning in the sky would agree with that statement. All fairytales must come to an end. That was no different for the raven and the butterfly.â
There had been a buzz around the lab lately. Some of the segments had been ordered to leave for a Fatui mission. Which, would have been a normal occurrence, were it not for the place they were headed to this time.
âSumeru? Youâre going to Sumeru?â Your home country had instantly gotten your attention, not only because you havenât been back in centuries, but also because the segments were never usually dispatched there, instead causing their usual chaos in other nations.
âIndeed. We will see if the Balladeer is able to become the God he so desires to be,â Omega hummed, moving a hand underneath your shirt to record your heartbeat. Ah, that was right. The puppet had stolen the Electro Gnosis to use as his ascension into godhood⊠and Dottore would be there to see how his experiment plays out. Well, you already had a feeling about how that would turn out.Â
Moving on to a different subject, although Sumeru was the home you and Zandik were chased out of, you still held fond memories of it. Many happy things happened there for you, so the thought of it made you smile.
âYou have to bring back lots of stories for me! And souvenirs! Oh, I would love to see how much Sumeru has changed from all those years ago,â you dreamily smiled. Yeah, your favorite cafe was probably gone by now⊠but youâd love to see what replaced it!
âOf course. I expect there will be much to say with the God of Wisdom and the Traveler intervening as well,â Omega chuckled, scribbling down something on his clipboard after glancing at the monitor, before fixing your shirt back.
âYour vitals have been better lately,â the segment commented and patted your head, which you happily indulged in. It wasnât too noticeable, but it seemed like your body was getting even a little bit better. Not much, a little. But that was good anyway. âBut run along now. There is much preparation to be done regarding the trip to Sumeru.â
âOkayyyy,â you stretched your words a bit disappointedly, not wanting to leave the segment, but you knew he had a lot of work to do. So instead you settled with pecking him on the cheek which he of course returned tenfold before you went off on your way. You had quite a few segments to say goodbye to, after all! Youâd miss them a lot, but, you still had the other segments here with you. And your lover of course.
Surely, they would be back in the blink of an eye. Yes, surely, theyâd return just as they always did. You had no reason to think otherwise. And so for the next few days, everything was normal. Time passed regularly. You got through the days as you did with any other.
But one day was different.
You were in your room by yourself, enjoying your alone time. Because as much as you loved being around the segments, you still liked being by yourself too. But all of a sudden, your tranquility was interrupted by literally a bang on your door, which made you jump.
The knock on your door was frantic and loud. Immediately you hopped out of bed to see what could possibly be so important that your door was getting pounded, but when you opened the door there was no one there. You were very confused⊠how was that possible? This was a pretty long hallway. Even with the segmentsâ abilities, there was no way they could just disappear into thin air like that.Â
A bad feeling began to creep up on you, your stomach twisting and turning. You donât know why, but it just did. But surely you were overreacting. Perhaps⊠perhaps⊠actually, you didnât have any valid reasoning you could think of right now. Maybe though, maybe you should go and check on them. Just in case. You know that theyâll be there, in the lab doing their experiments or perhaps bickering with each other as usual, but there was nothing wrong with double-checking. And then youâll calm yourself with a nice hug from one of them. It would all be okay.Â
But you found that your steps were quicker and longer than usual, your breathing heavier than usual. As you got closer to the main labâs doors, you strained your ears for their voices, anything, something, but heard nothing. You licked and bit your lip that had gone dry, weak legs walking even faster if that was possible, before you swung open the doors, hoping to see those blue mops of hair you so desired to see.
Nothing. The room was empty.
Your footsteps slowed, walking into the room cautiously. It was strange because it looked as if there were people in here just a few minutes ago. Notes that were left unfinished halfway. Beakers that had broken on the floor, with some mysterious liquids soaking the floor. Strange, very strange. And yet no trace of any segments remained.
The bad feeling had grown into something much worse now. Where else? Where else could they be?Â
Their rooms. You should check their rooms. They were usually there if they werenât in the lab, doing their own respective work (because their office and rooms doubled as one since they didnât need to sleep.) So despite how your chest burned, and your legs ached, it didnât matter if it meant your heart would be soothed and relieved.
You ran as fast as you could, more like you tried to because your illness had really kicked in since your mind was stressing out a great amount. As you clung to the walls, catching your breath, you paid no mind to the random agents who were looking at you funny, nor did you manage to catch their words of âOmegaïżœïżœïżœ or âerasedâ or âgone.â
It took longer than it should have taken you, but at last, you made it to the corridor with the segmentsâ rooms. You didnât bother to knock, swinging open the door to Alphaâs room.
Empty.
Betaâs room.
Empty.
Every single room was empty. Fuck, even Zandyâs room was empty. And he was always in there if he wasnât with you. Your head was throbbing with unease now, your heavy, troubled breathing sounding throughout the whole hallway. Where? Where? Where did they goâŠ?!
â[Name].â A voice sounded from behind you. Spinning around, it was Dottore. Your Dottore! Okay, at least he was still here!
âDottore,â you breathed a sigh of relief. He would have an explanation for this. âDottore, where are all the segments? I-I canât find them anywhere. I mean, I know the lab is really big, but itâs strange for them not to be in these areas,â you placed a hand on your rapidly beating heart, trying to calm it, not noticing your husbandâs expression.
â...â The scientist was unsure of how to break the news to you because he knew of the bond you shared with the segments.
âDottore? Why arenât you answering me?â He opened his mouth to respond, but paused, seemingly trying to determine the best way to phrase his words. That only worried you more, because he was never one to sugarcoat his words. Your nervousness had returned once more, burning heat from fear creeping up your shoulders. âZandik, answer me.â
âTheyâre gone, [Name].â The words took a few moments to settle in, silence overtaking the area for a little bit. But only for a little bit, as your nervous laughter rang out interrupting it.
âGone?â You repeated. âWhat do you mean gone? They just canât be gone. Right? Right, Dottore?â The nervous smile that had etched its way onto your face hurt badly, the laughter mixed with wheezing was painful, but it was all you could do to convince yourself this was a lie.
âOmega has⊠deleted them in exchange for the Electro Gnosis.â You looked at him blankly, the former emotion on your face gone.
âDeleted? Deleted from this world? From existence?â Your tone got higher and higher as you continued speaking. You didnât even know Omega had the ability to do that. Or that the segments could be erased in the first place. Dottore just nodded in response.Â
âBut- but why? Surely t-there was another way?â Your voice was on the verge of breaking into tears.
âHe wanted to show respect to the God of-â
âRespect? To a God, of all people?â You hissed, bubbles of anger surfacing now through your agony. âHeâs a Harbinger, is he not? And heâs stronger than that God! He- he could have easily found another way! He didnât have to DELETE the segments! Another method HAD to have been possible! Did he even try to negotiate?!â Hot tears ran down your cheeks as you raised your voice at him. It took everything it had in you not to fully scream. You began to pace back and forth, hand covering your already tear-streaked face, whole body shaking. Your husband could only watch.
Dottore wasnât thrilled with Omega deleting all his segments either, with the endless resources that went into creating them, but whatâs done was done. And both the Electro and Dendro Gnoses were acquired. But you? You were on the verge of hysterics. He had never, not once, seen you like this.Â
You had come to a stop, head buried into your arm as you braced against the wall. Oh, the segments were gone forever. They were never coming back. You could only imagine how they must have been in their last moments. That they only had a few more moments to live. You couldnât bring yourself to think about what Zandy must have thought in his last few seconds.
And whatâs more, the segments had disappeared into⊠nothingness. There was no trace, no remains of their bodies whatsoever. And although seeing their bodies on the floor would have certainly destroyed you, perhaps this was even a worse fate. Because it was as if they never existed at all. You couldnât even hold their bodies one last time, or give them a proper farewell. They were just⊠gone. Oh, how you wished you could have at least been there in their last moments, to provide some comfort, some love, some sense of peace. The more you thought about it, the countless memories with them flowing through your mind, the weaker your violently shaking body became as you struggled to hold yourself up. Dottore instantly noticed and, worrying about your frail condition, walked up to you before you spat out at him.
âDo not come near me.â Out of all the centuries Zandik has spent with you, he has never been on the receiving end of much anger from you. Rather, it was you who dealt with that from him. But this wasnât just anger. It felt like venom.
âWhyâŠâ You pulled yourself up once again before glaring at him with teary eyes. âWhy didnât you stop him, Zandik? You could have, couldnât you? They didnât have to dieâŠ!â
There was only one answer the Harbinger could provide, even though he knew you would not like it. âIt was necessary to obtain the Electro and Dendro Gnoses for the Fatui.â To this, you could only laugh again once more before digging your nails into your palms so hard it hurt.
âI see. I seeâŠâ You mumbled brokenly before stepping off to the side, your steps still unsteady and wobbly as you nearly tripped. Dottore once again tensed up, body wanting to move to support you, but the look on your face made him decide against it. You then walked past him, not sparing another look at him before exiting the corridor, tears still silently running down your face. He could only watch you as you left him standing, wondering about many things yet nothing at all.
â
âFrom that day, there was a drastic shift in the butterfly and ravenâs relationship. The butterfly was indescribably hurt by the loss of the other ravens, and could not bear the pain. It was the first time the raven had ever been subjected to such cold treatment by his lover. Usually, it was the other way around. And it seemed like fixing this would not be easy.â
Dottore thought that if he gave you some space, youâd cool off soon enough.
He thought wrong.
You had flat-out been ignoring Dottore since the day the segments were erased. And not just refusing to talk to him. You didnât even want to be in the same space as him. If he came into your room, you would just leave. As soon as he opened his mouth, you were gone. In order to give you your meds, he had to wait until you were sleeping to slip in, because of the way you were acting. When it was time to eat, he had to leave the meal outside your door, otherwise, you wouldnât eat. That is if you even took it. The grief made it hard for you to do a lot of things, which made it imperative for him to help, but you didnât want it. You were distraught, but you were angry too. Why?Â
Because you truly loved the segments.
Dottore did not. He did not feel the same connection as you did. So he was at a loss. He didnât know what to do to resolve this. Apologize? No, he suspected even if he did, it wouldnât mean anything, because youâd know he didnât fully mean it, and it wouldnât bring the segments back anyway. Comfort you? You wouldnât allow him to hold you or talk to you. Il Dottore did not know what should be done.
Omega received similar treatment when finally returned from Sumeru, the Gnoses in hand. Normally, you would be waiting at the entrance whenever he returned from expeditions. This time, however, you were not, which he supposed he should have expected. You didnât want his stories. His gifts. No, all you needed to know was that he deleted the segments. They were gone because of him, and you didnât want to see him right now.
Omega was not a human. He was a segment. Though, that didnât mean that he couldnât feel emotions. He did - when it came to you. But Omega was a selfish segment. Selfish when it came to a lot of things, you included. And selfishness and emotions do not bode very well, as it becomes⊠a convoluted mixture.
The segment thinks of himself as a patient man. He knows how to wait, and wait, and wait until it pays off. He can do that for you, too. Wait for you to come back to your senses. After all, they were just segments, right? And the superior one, the best one of them all was still here - him. So surely you wonât be like this for too long.
Just like his creator, he was proven wrong. He learned the depth of your anger a day he tried reaching out to you, wanting to put this whole situation behind. But you certainly didnât share the same sentiment. It was like any other day, him talking to you and you walking away, but this time he reached out for you. The segment unconsciously longed for your touch, your affection, that was once so commonplace.
But as soon as you felt his fingers brush yours, you slapped Omegaâs hand away with a scowl. You didnât need to say anything. That one action spoke everything you wanted to.
You would never view him the same ever again.
â
âAnd so the butterfly found themselves drowning and suffocating in grief. Their whole life had been changed, the creatures who helped them through so much were now gone. But that would not be the last of the butterflyâs sorrow.â
You had been giving the cold shoulder to Zandik and Omega for a long time. Considering how clingy and affectionate you were before, they didnât even know you had it in you. But now, it was as different as night and day. However, it wasnât as much as it was before, because you still had to rely on them in order to live. Despite how much you didnât want to, without them, youâd be dead. They were the ones who had to administer your medicine and give you check-ups so your condition wouldnât get worse (although it already happened after the segments were deleted.) It was funny how easily progress could be reversed. How one thing, one random day, could change everything.
So eventually you had to let them in a bit. Most of the time you just ignored them and rarely spoke. Even during the checkups and shots, you had your head turned the other way the whole time. They would still attempt to talk to you, in hopes you would even grace them with a âyesâ or ânoâ rather than the rare nod of your head. But it wasnât very fruitful.Â
Another habit of yours now was that if you werenât in your room, you were most likely in a segmentâs room crying. Especially Zandyâs. Clutching his plushies. Or maybe Alphaâs. Trying to fix up the parts he left lying on his desk. Or Betaâs. Going into his closet to wear his coat. Dottore knew better than to clean out their rooms because you would most likely snap at him again.
You didnât have much energy to do anything else but lay in your room, blankly staring at the ceiling all day, your head a foggy, grief-filled mess. It did not feel good⊠you hated the feeling⊠but what else should you doâŠ? You just wished you could feel the warmth of your segments⊠the seemingly annoyed but secretly delighted posture of Alpha as you held him from behind. The bitey nature of Beta that didnât let you go once you were in his clutches. The small, clingy body of Zandy as he cuddled into your body, sweet dreams blessing him instead of the nightmares. But you could only dream about those things now.
Even the regular Fatui agents had noticed this development. The lovey-dovey nature of Il Dottoreâs spouse was now reduced to this. You heard them speak about it.
âHave you noticed? Lord Dottore has been far more irritable lately.â
âOh yeah, both Omega and Prime! I feel bad for those who have to work directly with themâŠ. At least my job is just standing at this door all day.â
âI know. They always were terrifying, but it seems even worse now. Ugh, and now thereâs even more work for us since all the segments are gone.â
âDo you know why? Has Lord Pantalone decreased his budget again?â
âYeah, itâs kind of obviousâŠâ The agent lowered his voice to a whisper. âHis spouse, [Name], has been giving them the silent treatment for ages now. Donât tell anyone this but, I believe that our great Harbinger, Lord Il Dottore⊠is feeling the effects of this. Iâve never seen them act like this!â
âIs that so? Speaking of, I donât think Iâve seen them around here very much.â
âWell yes⊠if you were here for as long as I have been, youâd normally see them all over the lab but, they tend to stay locked up in their room nowadays. And Lord Dottore as well, he doesnât leave his office much either. Omega seems to take care of much of the outward responsibilities.â
So that was what it was like. You got your answer to if Dottore missed you. You wondered how many people accidentally became his test subjects due to his rising temper because of you. But though it may not have looked like it, not speaking to your husband was hurting you tremendously as well. Because at the end of the day⊠he was your love, your life. He was your Zandik, the one who meant everything to you. The one who went through everything and anything with you. He was the only one you had⊠you still loved him, terribly so. Maybe that was a bigger weakness than your illness.
But that didnât mean you were any less mad at him.
Omega, on the other hand⊠ah, you didnât even know what to think anymore⊠you were so conflicted, it was so hard to even think⊠when you said you loved all the segments, that included him too. But he deleted all of them⊠you hated him⊠but did you love him too? No, you should continue to hate him, he was the selfish one⊠Zandy was gone because of him⊠you couldnât forgive him! So you didnât forgive him. The days continued the same as always.Â
Until one fateful day.
Omega was set to head out on a mission. Which was quite unusual nowadays, because ever since the clones were deleted, he couldnât afford to leave Snezhnaya with all the work that had to be done. All you had heard was that the blonde-haired traveler would be there too, from all the whispering around the lab.
But what did it matter to you? Whether the segment was here or not, it was the same to you. His whereabouts were surely not of concern to you, so you had no feelings on this. Though the night before he was set to leave, he knocked on your door anyway. You immediately pulled the blankets over your face and curled to the side of the bed so you wouldnât see Omega. The door shut with a click and his boots sounded against the floor.
âHello, [Name]. Iâm sure youâve heard by now that I am leaving soon. It is another critical mission for the Fatui, and I suspect the Traveler will be there once again.â He didnât receive a response from you, which he expected. âBut Iâm sure this is of no interest to you, anyway.â He guessed right, you thought, you didnât care. However, even after saying what he had to say, he did not leave. A silence overtook the room as neither of you moved or spoke. But then Omega called your name, with another short silence coming after it before he spoke once more.
âI will not ask for your forgiveness, because I know I will not receive it, nor will I apologize, because I believe I took the right course of action. ButâŠâ Omega paused, âI still hold you fondly. I stillâŠâ He reached his hand out to your covered body but drew it back before his fingertips could brush you.
âI hope we will be able to talk more once I return.â He seemed to wait a few more seconds, perhaps hoping you would stay something, hoping he could at least see your face before he left, but to no avail. All you heard was the retreating footsteps and the click of your door shutting once more. You pulled the blankets off so you could breathe properly again, as you thought about his words.
What should you do? You didnât know. The segments had passed quite a while ago, and the pain was still fresh in your heart, but Omega⊠ugh⊠perhaps, maybe, just maybe, you could try talking to him once more. Only an attempt. If you didnât like how it felt, youâd stop. And he wasnât returning from the mission for a few months, so you had ample time to make your decision anyway.
But Omega never returned.
The next few months flew by quickly, and though Omega had not returned yet, you thought nothing of it. Something must have come up that delayed his return. Itâs happened before, it probably happened again. That was until you noticed groups of Fatui huddled together murmuring in the lab. As soon as they saw you, they went back to work and shut up their little gossip quickly, which was very strange. Now you really needed to know what was going on, so you decided to silently eavesdrop on the next pair you found. But you would have never thought of the words you heard next.
Omega had been killed by the Traveler.Â
Omega was dead.
Omega wasnât coming back.
You would never see him ever again. The realization made your body weak as you stumbled back, having to cling to the wall for support. He was gone⊠the tears immediately sprang to your eyes, as you covered your mouth to keep your sobs down. Omega killed the other segments. Maybe a part of you should feel glad. But no, all you felt was red-hot grief and pain, as you crashed into the nearest random room, and cried, and cried, and cried.
If you knew that was the last time you would see him, you wouldnât have acted like thatâŠ
You wonder why things had to turn out like this.
â
âThe butterfly never truly recovered from their loss, but as they say, time heals all wounds.â
After Omega died, you didnât have the energy to be mad anymore. You were just tired. Tired of everything. Everything felt like a chore. Though you saw your husband more often now. Since there were no more segments, and Dottore obviously wouldnât trust even the best Fatui doctors with you, he was the one who did all the usual medical stuff for you now.
Admittedly, his touch felt nice. It felt good. It felt like exactly what you needed right now. Comfort. So you gave in. When he had finished the usual procedure, as he turned his back on you, you reached out and wouldnât let go of his hand. Dottore stiffened from the contact - it had been a while since youâd touched him so intimately - but you didnât let go, and only weakly tugged him closer, which he complied to. You couldnât bring your eyes to meet his, instead blankly staring at his shoes, but he seemed to get the message anyway. Tentatively, he wrapped his arms around you to gauge your reaction, and when he saw no resistance, he pulled you into his chest and held you. You missed this feeling. You missed Zandik.
And maybe you were scared he would leave you too.
Things continued like that for a while. Youâd seek your husband out for his touch. His presence. His voice. Anything that would bring you some peace. Though you still remained mostly silent during these times. You just didnât know what to say. Sometimes you wondered if he was mad at you. Annoyed. Disappointed. You didnât want to know though. You were content with the fact that Zandik would hold you in his lap even at the wildest hours of the night.
But now, it had been some time since Omegaâs death and even longer since the other segments were erased.
You werenât quite ready to move on, no, not yet, but it was inevitable. Or perhaps you would never truly move on, instead, they would always be a part of you. Youâd always carry them with you. But regardless, you needed to try, at least for Zandy. You think heâd want you to try and smile more often. You were speaking a bit more to your Harbinger friends again, and finding some enjoyment in your hobbies. Not to mention your relationship with Zandik was becoming better again. He had still been there, even when your illness and grief had you at your worst, with no complaints. Even though he had nothing to gain from this relationship. Even though you had become someone different. He had always loved you.
But there was still a rift caused by everything that had happened, that you wanted to fix. Because at the end of the day, in this world, you two only had each other. So you decided to talk to him about it. You had a habit of this, just waltzing into his office without knocking, and came upon Dottore who had a small box in his hand, appearing to gaze at whatever was in it, before he quickly snapped it shut at your sudden arrival. You recognized that box. It was the one where he kept his wedding ring in. So he still had it like that after all these years. You pretended like you didnât see it as he swiftly put it away.
â[Name].â
âZandik. Are you busy right now?â
âNo.â Both of you knew that was a lie. The Second Harbinger was always busy. You knew for a fact he was stretched thin, especially since he wasted so much time taking care of you along with his Fatui duties, which piled up quickly with no more segments.
âAlright⊠can we talk?â
âOf course.â Zandik had been especially attentive to your words lately. Perhaps because he missed the times you would talk his ear off.
âI want to make something clear.â Zandik looked at you curiously as you took a deep breath. Many possibilities raced through his head.
âI still love you, Zandik.â
Well, he certainly wasnât expecting that, and you could tell, even though his expression did not betray his thoughts.
âYou already know the reason IâmâŠâ Your voice trailed off, not wanting to say the words aloud, but you continued. âBut I⊠appreciate you for staying by me. For all these centuries, through everything. Itâs been a⊠very long time. And although things are different now, I want us to be⊠happy again. It might not be immediately but⊠itâs because I love you, Zandik.â You swallowed, at the end, your voice growing a bit softer. Ah, you hoped that wasnât too sentimental. Zandikâs expression was blank so you couldnât tell what he was thinking.
âSo yeah, thatâs all⊠I guess.â All of a sudden, the silence that followed made you embarrassed, and you wanted to leave there as quickly as possible. âOkay, I-Iâll let you do your work now.â And then you hastily made your exit and left the Harbinger alone, before he started chuckling to himself. Heâd expect nothing less from you, his dear, darling spouse.
Though he wonders if you realize time is irrelevant for him. Heâll wait for you as long as it takes.
â
âOne thing about the raven and the butterfly that would never change was that they were wholly intertwined with each other. Their fates were one. So even if they happened to go their separate ways, they would inevitably return to one another again.â
It was actually quite scary how fast time flew. From the time you woke up, to marrying Dottore, to the segments passing, to right now⊠it felt like a blur. You guess, now that your life span was no longer that of a regular humanâs, time was starting to skew a bit for you. Well, you were just excited to spend decades more, even centuries with him.
Throughout all the years that had passed since that day, you found yourself falling more and more in love with Zandik again. You suppose that should be normal for a married couple but, it never ceased to amaze you how one man could make you feel like this.
Something that had become somewhat of a habit for the two of you was dancing. Yes, dancing. It had come up during one of your wedding anniversaries. To be honest, neither of you really did or planned anything special for the day. Perhaps there was a bit more kissing along with other affectionate activities, but you two didnât look at it as something that big. First, because you didnât want to waste his already precious time, but also because you knew from the beginning the wedding anniversaries would be countless. So every anniversary was more of something you expected, so it was nothing too big to celebrate, especially as people who lived this long⊠if that made sense. And Dottore⊠was Dottore after all. Never one to care much for dates.
But on one anniversary you were reminded of how you two danced during the wedding. Your clumsy steps as Dottore guided you through it all, and you wanted to relive that, so he indulged you. And funnily enough, you were a lot better! Your steps werenât as unsteady and your body didnât ache as much. Dottoreâs feet didnât get assaulted by yours too much. Even Dottore was pleasantly surprised. It probably had to do with the fact that although you werenât cured yet, your health had been up on an upward curve. Of course, never the best but, much better than you first were. You were proud of yourself for making it this far.
So now, when you had time, you found yourself rehearsing your steps with him and your husband twirling you around. Perhaps one day you could reach his level.
You found that there were days that reminded you of the Akademiya. Where you could help him with his notes and research like a real assistant would. Obviously, it still wasnât the best but it was something, and you could see that Dottore liked it. These days often came with you teasing him with embarrassing memories from the Akademiya.
âI still remember when you got motion sickness from piloting that ruin golem, Zandik.â
âFor the last time, I did not get motion sickness, [Name].â
âMhm, sure. If I didnât drag you out, you would have-â
âThat is enough from you.â
You found that there were more days he would take you out into the Snezhnayan winters (you were bundled up to the max) so you could finally see the snow. You found yourself attending your first balls at the Tsaritsaâs palace, as Dottore was now forced to attend himself rather than his segments. He didnât want to leave you by yourself in the dreary lab so⊠you were often his plus one, where you spent the evening poking fun at him with Columbina. (You also were the one who publicly took sweets to-go from the parties for him so he wouldnât get judged.)
And perhaps your favorite memory was when he took you back to Sumeru - yes, to another country - so you could witness the Akademiya Extravaganza festival. He, of course, had no interest in it, but you being you and loving fun things absolutely did. Many things happened, including meeting the Traveler⊠but that story was for another day.
All in all, you always knew this but, you found that no matter how many years passed, no matter what Il Dottore has done, no matter the amount of sins and wrongfulness he has committed⊠you were hopelessly in love with him. From the time he was that perpetually irritated but in love student from the Akademiya to his current self, the Harbinger that was a stark contrast to his former self but still possessed you for himself.
Sure, it was a bit lonely at times compared to before, but all the tender moments throughout the years made you happy to have Zandik in your life. Which is why you foolishly thought these times would last forever.
When Dottore told you he was leaving Snezhnaya, and therefore the lab, and therefore you, it jolted you right up from your sleepy daze on his lap.
âWhat?!â The word came out as a half yell, half-whisper. âWhat do you mean youâre leaving Snezhnaya?â
âIt means Iâm leaving Snezhnaya, dear,â he continued on his paperwork (which never seemed to end) as if this was common knowledge. âThe mission needs a Harbinger to oversee it, and the task falls to me this time.âÂ
You were devastated. There were times when Dottore only had to leave the lab for a few days to attend to matters in different parts of Snezhnaya. (You spent the time at Columbinaâs mansion because oddly enough, she always seemed to be there⊠how did she manage to shirk her duties so often?) But this was completely different. He would be so far out of reach, for a long time probably too. Foreign missions always took a while. You remember how long you had to wait for the segments to return from them.
âOkay, then Iâll come with you!â
âNo, youâre not,â he immediately shut down your proposition. âMissions are still far too dangerous with your current state. You will stay in Snezhnaya, and wait for me to come back.â You knew when he used that tone, things were final, and you hung your head low, all sleepiness gone at the fact you wouldnât be seeing him for months. Sure, you would be staying with Bina as usual but, you had a feeling itâd be hard to replace the rush of emotions Dottore gave you on a daily basis.Â
Dottore noticed your dour expression, which he obviously expected, and sighed, setting down his pen. At this point, it was a sort of routine that he had memorized, comforting you and all. Although comfort would never be something he was adept in, years of doing it had let him become somewhat proficient.Â
â[Name],â he moved his hand to guide your chin up so you could look at him. You were pouting. âThese few months, or even less, depending on how quickly the work gets done, will only be a blink of an eye in the grand scheme of things. Iâll be back before you know it,â he hummed. Although he certainly was not pleased about leaving you by yourself for so long, such was the life of a Fatui Harbinger. It was at times like these he missed his segments. (Did that sound selfish? Well, he was a selfish man when it came to you.)
A drop in eternity, huh? Well, when he puts it like that, then maybe it would be just a bit bearable. And, when you think about it, heâs waited over four hundred years for you, all alone. So this little challenge couldnât be too hard, right?
âAlright⊠Iâll wait for you, Zandik.â
âGood,â he chuckled at how easy it was to win you over sometimes and stroked your cheek. âIn the meantime, you can work on the recipe youâve been vehemently hiding from me and show me when Iâm back.â You immediately brightened at that.
âOh yeah! I promise youâre going to like these sweets better than the ones at the bakery!â You proudly declared.
âOh? Now thatâs a high standard youâve set yourself to, dear. Are you sure youâre going to be able to live up to it?â
âHmph, donât underestimate me. My baking skills have improved over the years!â
The banter always made you two feel like regular humans, despite what you two really were.
â
âThe days went by peacefully for the lonely butterfly, but soon that feeling was shattered when they learned of a golden cometâs presence near their raven.â
The days in Columbinaâs mansion went by rather uneventfully. Surprisingly enough, she wasnât home as often as usual. It seemed like the Fatui were really stepping up their business now. Youâd have to ask Dottore about that. Maybe the day Celestia is defeated was closer than you thought. But today was a day Bina had some time to indulge in cakes and conversation with you. The chit-chat was mundane but brought a sense of comfort until the conversation somehow ended up with Dottore as the topic. Your friend always liked teasing you about him. Everything was lighthearted and sweet until she idly mentioned his mission.
âI wonder how your Doctor is doing on the mission~â
âWell, Iâm sure heâll be fine. Heâs Dottore after all.â
âMhm, thatâs right. I do wonder how he plans to deal with the Traveler though.â The mention of the blondeâs name nearly made you drop your teacup.
âW-What?â Your voice cracked as you implored your friend to tell you more. You were now realizing that you neglected to ask Dottore what the mission exactly was, and he did not reveal the contents as well, probably because he knew youâd freak even more if you knew he was most likely going to confront the Traveler. Columbina looked confused.
âDear, did he not tell you?â
âNo! I- ah, he only told me he has a mission in another nation, I guess it slipped my mind to ask him the details!â You now had your hand clutched to your head and another one trying to soothe your now rapidly beating heart. A naive and very stupid part of you thought it wouldnât have to come to this, but it already did, so quickly too.Â
Why were you so particularly scared? It was because all you could think of was Omegaâs death by the Travelerâs hand, as well as your fellow colleagues. You knew that Dottore was far stronger than any of them but⊠you were in a panic. All the worst possible scenarios began invading your mind relentlessly.
â[Name], calm down. Dottore is strong. We do not even know if it will end in a battle or not, but regardless of the outcome, he is smart enough to-â Bina attempted to comfort you before you interrupted her and abruptly stood up.
âI need to go.â
âGo? Go to Dottore, dear?â
âYes. Yes, I need to see him. I need-â Your words were becoming a jumbled mess from the anxiety this piece of news caused. âI need to see him in person if heâs okay.â
âYou do not think you should think about this some more? I suspect the Doctor will not be happy if he sees you there, even if itâs you of all people.â
âIt doesnât matter. If I stay here, all Iâll be able to think about is him.â You could already see yourself losing sleep and appetite over this. âBut as long as I can see him okay⊠even if heâs angry, I can deal with it. Anything is better than being over here helpless!â Columbina watched you silently.
âAlright. Be ready in a few days.â You looked at her in surprise.
âBina? Youâre helping me? Youâre not going to⊠stop me?â
âDear [Name], I will not get in the way of a decision youâve made for yourself. If this is what youâve decided, then it is my duty as your friend to assist you as Iâve done in the past. And perhaps this will teach the Doctor a lesson to stop withholding information from you,â the Harbinger sighed.
ââŠThank you, Columbina.â Youâd have to repay her sometime later.
â
âThe raven and the butterfly found themselves reunited again at long last, and would stay together like that forever.â
It was funny you found yourself back here, your home country. It seems like you two were always drawn back here, despite no longer being welcomed. But that didnât really matter too much, because as soon as the boat you were on pulled into the port, it was clear that today was not a normal day in Sumeru City.
You were too late.Â
The fight had clearly already begun, probably only recently too, by the chaotic state of Sumeru. Obviously, itâd be out of order if there were two immensely powerful beings in battle with each other. Maybe, if you were just a bit sooner⊠but you already had your mind set. Although the Fatui agent entrusted with your safety was ready to head back already, his orders to not let you come to any danger, you just tranquilized him. (It was a courtesy device from Dottore in case he wasnât near.)
And you ran. Was that a good idea considering your illness? Absolutely not, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Was it a good idea to walk into the middle of a battle? Also no, but you couldnât shake the bad feeling you had this whole time.Â
Although it was far away, it was easy to spot the place, as for one there were Fatui swarming the area and also regular citizens running in the opposite direction. Though your lungs were absolutely burning, your knees weak and scraped from tripping, tired from bumping into others, illness flaring up even worse from the added stress and exertion, you continued ahead with only one goal. To see your husband.
Throughout your haggard walking, you thought of the future. You thought of how great it would be to see Teyvat change in the next four hundred years just as he did. And this time, Dottore would not have to witness it by himself. He would have you. It would be amazing, just thinking of all the variety of new inventions and such that would be created! You two would surely dissect them and put them back together for fun. You two would do a lot of things, you think, as you finally made it to the door of the grand building the fight was in. It was already rather damaged, but the door managed to remain mostly intact, so you pushed it open.
Just in time to see the Traveler land the final fatal hit to Zandik, his body landing on the floor with a painful thud.
Your worst nightmare had become reality. But⊠Zandik told you heâd return to you in no timeâŠ
Suddenly, all the will you had before was gone in an instant. You didnât have the energy or focus to call out his name. All you could do was blankly stare at his defeated body while taking some hesitant steps forward, all while mumbling something incoherent under your breath. The Traveler, despite their exhaustion, noticed you and immediately readied their sword again. But, they soon realized that there was no need for that from the exceedingly dull look in your eyes and the way you tripped over yourself again, landing on the floor, reaching out your hand towards the Doctor. You had to make it to him.
You pathetically dragged your body closer to Zandik, every part of it screaming out in part for you to stop. But you didnât care. You could take it. After all, you knew the pain would soon be over. The Traveler merely watched you, still a bit on edge for what you could do, but you didnât care. You didnât care about anything besides Zandik, so you continued inching your body to your husband before you finally reached him. His body was practically motionless, his face revealed as his mask was destroyed to the side somewhere. When you came into view, a flicker of surprise came across his face but it quickly morphed into one of acceptance.
âYouâre not supposed to be here.â You half-laughed at that.
âI could say the same to youâŠâ Your voice had dropped to a soft, defeated one. Huffing and panting, you used your last remaining strength to pull yourself up and kneel, tenderly bringing your husbandâs head onto your lap. He did not resist. It wasnât like he had the strength to anyway. âYou didnât tell me you were going to be here, either.â
âIt was not necessary⊠at the time,â Zandik said, looking right at you the whole time with those red eyes of his. âBut I suppose I should have expected this. You never do as you are told, do you?â
âOf course not. But you should remember that whenever I break the rules, things turn out fine for us.â You smiled, and you had a feeling both of you were thinking of the same memories. That time you helped him break into the Akademiyaâs library when it was closed, or the time you threw a book at someone for him, or the time you two helped each other on what was supposed to be solo assignments. Or the times you ran away from his needles and medicine, or the times you went behind his back and befriended the others. Those times ended out okay, so this time would be okay too.
Then, the building began to rumble, most likely about to collapse. The battle must have been quite fierce. Although the Traveler felt no remorse for the two of you, their kind heart still couldnât help but feel the slightest twinge of pity. After all, the blonde had read the notes the two of you left scattered around Sumeru. To think that a relationship could last so long, especially one with the mad Doctor⊠You noticed their expression before you rasped out a mixture of a plea and demand.
âWhy are you still here? Leave us now. I want to be alone with him.â Your words were empty of emotion towards them. There was no point in any hostility anymore, not when you had to treasure the last moments with your beloved. The Traveler didnât seem surprised by your words, as they nodded and threw the bloodied Harbinger one last glance, before running away with the little fairy. It seemed they knew⊠youâd rather die here along with him than live without him.
You looked back at Zandikâs face, his once brightly colored red eyes now a darkened hue.
âIâve failed you, [Name].â Since it was the end of the line now, even a genius scholar such as him had to admit defeat. Dottore thought back to all the times he swore to cure you. He swore he would do it so that you could be who you used to be once more. But he failed. He let you lose centuries of your life and left you in pain for your conscious ones. But you didnât seem to share the sentiment.
âFailed me?â You couldnât help but laugh at that, despite the tears that began to run down your cheeks. âOh darling, you have never failed me. Not once in over four hundred years.â Zandik continued to stare at you because that was all the strength he had to do, so you reached for his hand and brought it to your cheek.
âYouâve loved me continuously for so many centuries, havenât you? How could that ever be a failure?â You nuzzled into his hand, his own blood beginning to smear on your face, but you didnât care.Â
âYour love has changed so much over time. From your prickly and thorny yet beautiful love from the Akademiya. To your smooth and unabashed love now. But your love was unfaltering, to me at least. Perhaps I may be delusional, and I overthink how much you love me. But I think it was real, even though you may never admit it, that is what matters to me. So if youâre thinking about the cure, forget it.â Your hands were shaking and struggling to hold his to your cheek for this long, energy spent, but you continued anyway, even as a piece of the infrastructure suddenly caved in and collapsed on the opposite side of the room with a loud crash. âThe cure isnât what mattered. It was you.â
Zandik thinks you are the only person who has forgiven him. Not even he has. He knows he does not deserve it, but he shouldnât say that to you now. But he thinks, even at this moment, perhaps it may seem sick or morbid, your beauty still manages to surpass that of any other being in Teyvat.
You thought about the Tsaritsa, who had shown you much love and kindness. You hoped she would finally achieve her goals. You thought about the other Harbingers, the ones who were still alive at least. You would miss them. You looked at your wedding ring. It was still intact. How lovely. Lastly, you thought about Zandik as you looked at him, and he seemed to realize something.
â[Name], reach into my pocket.â You were confused but you complied, wincing in pain a bit but successfully reached it and pulled out a box. It was the box he kept his wedding wing in. Popping it open, you were correct, and still couldnât help but be a bit incredulous.
âYou brought it with you?â You were surprised because a part of you still believed he thought the whole thing was a bit dumb.
âI normally do not but, with the length of the mission, I believed it would be a simple and easy way to be reminded of you.â That was cute.
âSorry. I guess the good luck charm didnât work,â you smiled apologetically as you slipped the band onto his finger, to which Zandik scoffed.
âYou know very well I do not believe in luck.â You only laughed, though it was mostly drowned out by multiple crashes and rocks falling all around you. Being buried was a fitting end, to be honest. No one else needed to know about the two of you. No one else needed to know your stories. It would be best if the two of you ended up forgotten, lost to time. Then, no one would be able to misunderstand or twist your relationship.
Despite all of the pains that had befallen you, the suffering and hardships, you could happily say you lived a good life. You were happy, so happy, thanks to Zandik. Zandik was what made this life worth living⊠so this was okay. You would have loved to have been cured and lived out many more happy memories with him but⊠this was alright. But the time was limited, so this conversation needed to be wrapped up in a way that would satisfy you.
âI love you, Zandik.â You donât expect any response back because of your husbandâs poor track record with saying those words.Â
The times Zandik has said the words âI love youâ have admittedly been scarce and in-between despite the centuries heâs spent with you. It was a grand total of⊠two times. And both had been said when he thought you were sleeping.Â
The first time had been in the Akademiya. It had been a while since you two were a couple, and he had yet to say it. You expected that obviously. But one random night, when you two were cuddling and drifting off into dreamland, you heard the three words mumbled into the crook of your neck. It took everything in you not to react.
The second time had been when you had recently woken up from your coma. Dottore was around you constantly, taking so many tests that it made your head spin, and you had to take naps more often than not. And once again, as you were just about to slip off into slumber, you heard the three words whispered as he gently bit your ear.
Surprisingly enough, the third time would be now. Perhaps because he had nothing to lose anymore, as it was the end.
âI love you as well, [Name].â Your eyes go wide for a few seconds before you grin widely one last time, and you give him a look that says âI know.â Zandik watched your eyes flutter shut as you leaned down to his face, and he let himself be enveloped in your final kiss, neither of you paying attention to the shadows cast by the multitude of broken architecture about to fall on top of you.
Let the fairy tale come to a close.
â
âIn his last moments, the raven was taken back to a memory from centuries ago. It was a memory where he was truly happy with his lovely sparrow.â
Zandik awoke to a blue sky and a gentle breeze. He blinked, immediately trying to gauge where he was. But then the sound of a familiar voice flooded his senses.
âAnd you know what this professor had the audacity to say to me, Zandik? âFigure it out!â Like, youâre supposed to be helping me, not writing me off! Youâre getting paid for this!â You were lying down on the grass next to him, hands folded as you huffed. âAt least I have you, Zandik. Way better than any damn professor.â He blinks at you.Â
Zandik remembers this moment. It was the day when exams and classes were finally over, and you wanted to relax before helping him with his experiments. And you also thought it was the perfect time to rant about all the professors you had to deal with over the last few months. But soon, you just started bringing up random things that occurred over the term. Zandik couldnât remember the last time he saw you like this. Donning the Akademiya uniform, so happy and carefree⊠healthy, strong, like nothing in the world bothered you.
He found himself slightly smiling at how stupidly happy you looked, before reaching out to you. But as soon as merely his fingernails came into contact with you, you began to dissolve right in front of his eyes. Immediately, he stiffened and sat up, again trying to take hold of you but you were no longer there. Zandikâs hands began to shake, and thatâs when he realized his surroundings were changing.
The blue sky was now fading away, becoming pitch black along with everything else that was chipping away, ready to swallow him whole into the darkness.
Ah, he understood now.
This was the end.
â
âFinally, the twisted raven met his fate.â
Or so he thought. Zandik woke up once more. Everything seemed normal at first, the blue sky was once again there and the Sumerian breeze caressed his hair. Until he realized there was a sticky substance coated all over his hands.
Blood.
This wasnât an unfamiliar occurrence for him, after all, he would usually get hands-on with his experiments, but he had an⊠odd feeling about this. Zandik blinked and all of a sudden, there you were lying on the ground in front of him.
Dead. Coated with blood.
Did he⊠kill you?
All too quickly, before he could reach out to hold your body or begin to process what happened, he was suddenly somewhere else. The desert.
Zandik laid eyes upon you. What he would usually see was you complaining about the heat while you dug through the ruins. What he saw instead was an Eremite plunging a sword through you.
And again. This time he awoke to you being completely cold and limp in his arms. And again. It didnât take his brain long for him to understand what was happening.
His victims and test subjects could torture him for eternity, yet Dottore would not feel bothered or a shred of remorse. It would be a useless endeavor. But this? This was the perfect punishment.Â
His beloved being killed in front of him, by the world, by other people, by natural forces, by his own hands. And for all of the power and knowledge he once had, he was powerless to do anything yet again.
⊠How ironic, Zandik thought.
â
At last, the tiny Archon closed the storybook.
It had been ages since the events in this tale had taken place. The Fatui were no more, Celestia was gone, the Traveler had long left this world, and Teyvat was at peace. So much time, that the Outcastâs name no longer floated around the Akademiya, now long forgotten. The God of Wisdom herself had gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from all the years that had flown by. And even still, she has not forgotten this story.
Yet, in all of her wisdom, she still cannot hope to fully understand the raven and the sparrow. The Dendro Archon found herself coming back to this tale, trying to comprehend their actions and thoughts. She reads it aloud to herself, draws pictures, and crafts the tale with her own words, yet it only leaves her more lost. Perhaps one day she will understand. But perhaps she wonât. Perhaps no one ever will.
After all, there were only two people who would ever truly understand the bond between the raven and the sparrow.Â
Zandik and [Name].Â
An unfriendly and cold scholar and a sweet and caring one.
An immoral villain and an accomplice.
A violator of this worldâs laws and a supporter.
A Harbinger and an assistant.
Regardless of those titles, perhaps at the end of the day, they only saw themselves as one thing to each other.
Two people who loved each other as if nothing else mattered.

The worst part of working at the Dimensional Nexus is that we don't get the regular internet there so you can't just watch your shows on Netflix or whatever. We gotta stick to analog media, since the digital stuff doesn't deal well with the temporal flux (the analog stuff doesn't either, but it's usually just a fuzzy image for a second, while your computer just crashes).
Everyone brings in their favorite media from home on old analog tapes (or laserdiscs. They're analog too! And we've got a couple hardened players on the lounge, so we can watch them).
Anyway while you're on-base (which could be for months or years), all your (video) media consumption ends up being on CRTs and piles of tapes you brought or traded with coworkers. Most people bring in a second suitcase of tapes so they'll have something to watch.
I brought in some letsplayers I stuck on a few VHS tapes (yt2vhs is a great program), and box sets of Star Trek: TNG and DS9.
About a month in, the trades really open up, as everyone has watched their own tapes and wants more. I got a good deal on a laserdisc of the Soviet version of... Well, nevermind. But let me just say, in my defense, the author of the books never went off the deep in in that universe, and the Soviet version wasn't made with her cooperation, anyway. I know that's sometimes a little difficult for people from the 91-verse to believe, but that's not the author's reputation in the rest of the Nexus.
Anyway I traded my TNG episodes for VOY. I've seen TNG a dozen times, so I figured it was time to go back over VOY.
It seemed to be pretty similar to what I remembered (other than them killing off Seska of all people at the beginning of S3? Who kills off your series's main villain?!) but at the end of S3 I hit the big divergence between our universes:
Seven. They introduced him early on in Scorpion, part 1, earlier than I remember.
The storyline goes mostly the same, with just a little less 7/Janeway romantic tension (do they even get together in this version? I'm gonna have to wait until season 5 to find out!)
Harry Kim lives in this version of Scorpion, too. I'm not sure why that is, they were clearly setting him up to die? Probably some executive meddling or something. I don't have access to Trekpedia (especially in that universe!) to check.
But yeah. This is one of the universes that got the twinky Seven instead of the catsuit-girl version (Not that this version wears any fewer catsuits). They got 9 seasons instead of the usual 5, so I'm excited to see if those extra ones are any good. When I was picking up the tapes I was surprised how many there were, and Josh told me in his universe they get home in season 6 and the remaining 3 seasons are a sort of spin-off/reboot done when Orbita took over from UPN.
Can't wait to see how that goes. More Star Treks need a post-script season (or three) made in the USSR!
Anyway I'm already looking forward to finishing this because I've already gotten a lead on a copy of TNG where Yaphet Kotto said Yes to the Picard role (sadly that version doesn't have the quintessential Jeffrey Combs as Riker, but I hear some people swear by the Gregg Marx Riker).
Still looking for any copies of the Kim Miyori-as-Data version of TNG. That one wasn't as popular (not it's vault! They had the US Doctor Who and both the Star Wars shows to go up against) so it's less likely to be brought in, but I'm always checking video libraries whenever I'm in that universe. Someday I'll find it. I found that fucking CED of the Walken A New Hope, I'll get the girl!Data TNG one of these days!

Otherworldly Attraction âËđźâ đ đđĄ đđ đđđĄđđđ
yandere!jjk x f!reader
yandere, reverse harem, isekai, jujutsu kaisen x fem!reader, slowburn, slowburn yandere
You don't know how or why, but you've been isekai'd into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Although your first instinct is to stay away from the plot, you've been blessed with an abnormal amount of cursed energy, and for better or worse, you find yourself sucked into the storyline. You decide that you may as well use your newfound powers for the greater good, and if you're lucky, you might succeed in rewriting some of the characters' fates. But it turns out that your presence in this world is an even bigger deal than you first thought, and soon, everyone wants to make you theirs.

âDraw two,â Sasaki says.Â
âIâll add another draw two. So now [Name] has to draw four,â Iguchi follows up, throwing another card onto the pile.
You stare at the two cards left in your hand, and then you cast a glance beside you, over to poor Itadori, whoâs easily holding more than ten. Part of you wonders if you should be nice and spare him, since heâs clearly suffering more than enough already, but then again, this is Uno.Â
Uno is just about as cutthroat as it gets.Â
âSorry,â you mumble, wincing a bit as you add another card onto the pile. âI still have a draw four card left⊠which means Itadori has to pick up eight cards in total. Also, um, Uno.âÂ
âNo way!â he cries out, and you swear you see his soul leave his body.Â
Sasaki throws her head back and starts laughing. âMan, Itadori, you stink at this! I swear youâve placed last every single time weâve played. Itâs actually kind of impressive how unlucky you can be sometimes.â
âI havenât lost yet,â Itadori stubbornly refutes, but of course, within the next round, you win, and Sasaki and Iguchi quickly follow suit.Â
You watch as Itadoriâs shoulders slump in defeat.Â
âFine, now I lost,â he sighs. Most people would probably be pretty frustrated seeing as heâs lost more than fourâor is it five games in a row now? In any case, Uno tends to ruin friendships and drive people insane, but since this is Itadori, it only takes a few brief moments of adorable sulking for him to perk up again. âAlright, well, Iâm ready for the next round!âÂ
Iguchi shakes his head. âSorry, but no more. Iâm starting to feel bad about beating you this badly.âÂ
âReally?â Sasaki blinks. âIâm having the time of my life.âÂ
âYou donât always have to voice your intrusive thoughts aloud, Sasaki.âÂ
âWe can play more next time,â you say, gently patting Itadori on the shoulder. âAnd Iâm sure youâll win a bunch then. Enough to make up for all the losses from today.âÂ
âDoubt it,â Sasaki muses.Â
âSasaki, thatâs seriously enough out of you,â Iguchi sighs.
âAlright, fine,â Itadori relents. He quickly glances towards the clock on the wall. âI guess itâs about time for me to head out anyway. Itâd be nice to get to the hospital early for a change.âÂ
More than a week has passed since you first awoke in this world, and during that time, youâve spent pretty much every day hanging out with Itadori. Itâs quite literally a dream come to true to be able to talk to him like this. From the moment you discovered you attended the same school, you were already starstruck, but you figured you would only ever be able to stare at him longingly, from afar. Never in a million years did you imagine that you would actually become his friend.Â
Even though your friendship is destined to be cut short, youâre determined to enjoy these blissful moments for as long as you can.
You and Itadori say goodbye to Sasaki and Iguchi, and the two of you walk out of the building together, stopping by a vending machine to grab some canned drinks. You crack your can open and sit down next to him, relishing in the fresh air paired with the cool liquid running down your throat.Â
âVisiting your grandpa again, right?â you affirm.Â
Itadori takes a big gulp, then nods. âYeah. Same old, I guess. Thatâs another reason why itâs nice being part of the Occult Research Club. A lot of people have pestered me to join athletic clubs, but they run way too late. I wouldnât be able to make it down to the hospital in time for visiting hours. It just works out better this way. Plus, hanging out with those guys is a lot of fun.â
âItâs nice that you always make an effort to visit him,â you say, smiling gently. âIâm sure he really appreciates the time he gets to spend with you. It must mean a lot to him.âÂ
âWell, Iâm the only one he has left, so Iâd feel really crappy if he had to spend every day all on his own.â
âStill. Not everyone would make sure to visit every single day, like you do. Youâre really kind. Youâre a good person, Itadori.âÂ
You hold your smile as you take another sip of your drink, and you donât notice that Itadori is staring at you wide-eyed, at least, not until you turn and realize heâs nearly breathing down your neck.Â
âUm,â you say, feeling a bit embarrassed by how close he is, ây-yes? Is there⊠something on my face?âÂ
Itadori scratches his neck. âUh. This might sound like a bit of a weird request and all, but I was just wondering if⊠maybe you wanted to come with me today?âÂ
âCome with you?âÂ
âYeah. To visit my gramps. Since we got to talking and all, I figured maybe heâd like to see someone other than me for a change. To be honest, I donât think he has much longer left. Heâs always snapping at me for visiting him, saying I shouldnât waste my time going to a depressing place like that, and that I should be spending time in clubs with my friends instead. Maybe heâll feel better if he sees me bring a friend along. He wonât worry that Iâm lonely, like he is.âÂ
You proceed to just stare at him, and although you didnât intend for your gaze to be unsettling, Itadori lets out a nervous chuckle and quickly shakes his head.
âAw, man, what am I even saying? Sorry. That was kind of weird. Iâm sure you wouldnât want to waste your free time going to a hospital, of all places. I didnât mean to try and pressure you into anything. Just forget what IââÂ
âI'll go,â you blurt. âIf you're sure you want me to come with you, then yes. I'd be happy to meet your grandpa.â
Itadori blinks rapidly, clearly bewildered, but it doesnât take long for one of those ridiculously cute smiles to spread across his lips.Â
âAwesome! Thanks so much, [Name]. Thatâs really cool of you. I feel like youâre always the one doing me favors, even though it should be the other way around.âÂ
âItâs not a favor,â you reassure. You pause, smiling shyly. âI really like spending time with you, after all.âÂ
Itadoriâs smile shows no signs of disappearing, and together, you make the trip to Sugisawa Hospital, where his grandfather is currently admitted.Â
You have to admit, you feel a little nervous. His grandfather is his only remaining family, and naturally, you want to make a good impression. Even more so because you know that he doesnât have much time left. You may not be able to stay by Itadoriâs side once the canon plot begins, but at least for now, youâd like to put his grandfather at ease.Â
âDonât worry,â Itadori reassures, smiling brightly. âHe might seem like a crabby old man at first, but heâs not actually that bad. I know heâll be happy to see me with a friend.âÂ
You smile back and quickly nod, and after a momentâs delay, Itadori slides the door open.Â
â...you again, Yuji?â a gruff voice immediately barks out. âI thought I told you to quit wasting your time stopping by. Donât you have anything better to do? What about your school club?âÂ
Itadori steps into the room first, rolling his eyes as if this kind of reaction is typical, but once you follow behind him and make your presence known, his grandfatherâs expression does a full one-eighty.Â
âOh,â he blinks. âWhoâs this now? Yuji, donât tell me⊠you finally managed to get yourself a girlfriend? Good going, kid. I didnât know you had it in you.âÂ
Itadori blushes a bit, but his embarrassment dissolves once he lets out a sigh. âCool it, old man. Donât make me regret bringing her. This is [Name]. Sheâs my friend. You always seem so worried about me not spending enough time with other people, so I invited her to come, and she accepted. Make sure to be nice to her, okay?âÂ
âItâs very nice to meet you, sir,â you say, bowing your head. âI hope me being here isnât an inconvenience.âÂ
âItadori Wasuke,â his grandfather introduces. You watch as he sits up a bit straighter in his hospital bed. âHm. Are you sure youâre not dating Yuji? You seem like youâve got a good head on your shoulders. Youâve got manners, unlike this brat. Hey, Yuji. Donât be stupid. You donât want to lose a pretty girl like her to someone else.âÂ
Itadori rolls his eyes again. âIt might be easier said than done, but try to ignore him. Sometimes I think he just says things because he likes hearing the sound of his own voice.âÂ
âSee that?â Wasuke points. âDo you see how this ungrateful grandson of mine treats me?âÂ
You bite back a chuckle. Naturally, youâve already gotten a glimpse of what their relationship is like, well before meeting either of them in person. Wasuke may have a sharp tongue, but itâs clear that he loves his grandson, and he wants him to have a good life. He wants him to be surrounded by people who care for him, and even though Itadori will face plenty of hardship in the future, the fact remains that he will have plenty of friends who are willing to stand by his side.Â
âItadoriâs a really good guy,â you say, lacing your hands together and smiling. âEveryone likes him. Heâs got a lot of other friends besides me. And I know heâll make countless more friends from here on out.âÂ
You pause to gauge their reactions. Itadori is blinking at you, perhaps a bit flustered by your sudden declaration, and Wasukeâs expression hasnât really changed much, but you notice that his eyes are a bit wider than they were a second ago.Â
Itâs awfully subtle, but for just a brief moment, a smile rises to Wasukeâs lips.Â
âIs that so?â he chuckles. âThank you for saying that, young lady. Iâll admit that it brings me some relief. Iâm glad Yuji isnât just wasting the best years of his life tending to a sickly old man like me. If heâs got friends like you who speak so highly of him⊠then I guess he must be doing something right.âÂ
âNo way,â Itadori marvels. âDid you just compliment me, gramps?âÂ
âDonât get used to it.âÂ
âStill! You actually said something kind of nice for a change!âÂ
âAlright, I take back everything I just said.âÂ
The two of them go back and forth like this for a while longer, and youâre perfectly content to just stand there and watch. Itâd be nice if Wasuke could stick around longer. Itâd be nice if Itadori didnât have to lose the only family he has left. But without a doubt, Wasuke will live on in his heart, and you get the feeling that even when he passes, heâll be watching over him for a long, long time.Â
Wasuke clears his throat. âSeriously, though. If you donât act fast enough, by the time you know it, [Name] will be dating someone else. Donât live a life filled with regrets, kid.âÂ
â...gramps, come on.âÂ
Uh-oh.
Youâre not an idiot, so of course, you know what this means. The wooden box heâs referring to is where Sukunaâs finger was being kept. Up until Itadori found it, that is.Â
Which can only mean that soonâlike, very soonâthe main plotline will begin to unfold.Â
You nervously chew on your lip. Truth to be told, you want absolutely nothing to do with that stinky finger. You already know that everything will be fine until the Occult Club members remove the seal, but still. The whole thing just freaks you out, and itâs way too scary to even fathom getting involved in.Â
While you struggle to come up with a reasonable excuse, your phone buzzes again.Â
Balls. Heâs just too goddamn cute. It makes it downright impossible to turn him down.Â
With a heavy sigh, you text him that youâre on your way, and you eventually get there, unsurprised to see him standing in front of the same storage box that Fushiguro was frantically searching at the start of the series.Â
Itadori grins widely. âThanks for coming! Here, check this out. Have you ever seen something like this before? It looks kind of supernatural, doesnât it? I bet Sasaki and Iguchi would go crazy over this.â
He proceeds to hold up a small, visibly old wooden box, and you gulp as he opens it up to reveal the cursed object insideâone of Sukunaâs fingers.
Of course, he doesnât have the slightest clue what it actually is. Itâs completely wrapped up in the seal, making the object inside indiscernible. He probably wouldnât be grinning ear-to-ear if he knew it was some wrinkly old finger.Â
âŠthen again, he swallowed said finger without even hesitating, so maybe he wouldnât actually care that much.Â
âOh, c-cool,â you say, doing your best to mask your discomfort. âYeah, it definitely gives off that occult vibe. Iâm sure the other club members would like it a lot.âÂ
âI really wonder what itâs even supposed to be, though.â Itadori frowns as he picks up the sealed fingerâmuch to your horrorâand leans in closer to get a better look at it. âYep, I honestly have no idea. You got any theories, [Name]?â
Without warning, he tosses the cursed object towards you, and out of pure reflex, you lurch forward to catch it.Â
The second it falls into your hands, you experience a sense of dread that is almost too nauseating to put into words.Â
Itâs only for a moment, but the scene before your eyes changes. All of a sudden, you feel something wet sloshing around your feet, and you look down to find crimson liquid, red water, or perhapsâblood.Â
You try to choke out a few words, but no sound escapes your lips. Youâre understandably disoriented, so your gaze then pans upwards, and to say that youâre terror-struck would still have been an understatement.Â
Right there, sitting on top of a pile of skeletons, is Sukuna.
It seems as though youâve lost the ability to speak, but even if you could speak, you doubt you would have been able to find the right words. Youâre too overwhelmed with fear to even think clearly, and right before you collapse onto your knees, just shy of a meltdown, Sukuna knits his brows together and leans forward.
â...who are you?â
You snap out of it with a gasp, only to find that youâre still standing in front of Itadori, who has a worried look on his face.Â
â[Name]?â he frowns. âWhatâs wrong? You donât look so good. Sorry, did I freak you out by tossing that thing at you? I probably shouldnât have done that. I get why youâd be startled.âÂ
He crouches down to pick up the cursed object, which you apparently dropped to the ground without even realizing it. You place a hand over your chest, exhaling shakily. Your heart is pounding relentlessly, and you feel dizzy, like you might pass out at any given moment.
Just now⊠that was Sukunaâs Innate Domain, right? But how is that even possible? He hasnât even been incarnated through Itadori yetâŠ
You swallow hard. That finger is completely sealed. Even though the seal is old enough to be torn off by even a regular humanâlike Sasaki, for instanceâSukuna shouldnât have appeared before you. Or at the very least, you shouldnât have been able to see him.Â
Maybe it was just a strange vision. Maybe the shock induced some kind of hallucination, or something. None of this makes any sense in the first place. The fact that youâve been transported into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Itadori places the cursed object back inside the box, then tucks it into his pocket. âSorry again for catching you off guard like that. Are you okay? You look a bit faint. That was my bad. You even mentioned before that you donât really like scary stuff, so I should have thought twice before doing that.âÂ
âIâm okay,â you reassure, and itâs true. You feel perfectly fine now. That sensation of choking up and being overcome with fear is already a thing of the past. It seems more and more likely that it was probably all in your head.Â
Yeah.
You must have just been imagining things.Â
âKokkuri, Kokkuri, please tell us⊠which creature is the school council president weaker than?!âÂ
Ah. So, itâs finally starting.Â
The question is all too familiar, of course, and as you allow the coin to be guided around the board, the word formed is exactly what you expected.Â
âWhat? AÂ fish?â everyone laughs in response, and just like in the canon series, the door abruptly slides open, revealing none other than the student council president himself.Â
He starts berating everyone in the room, of course, but you're not really paying attention.Â
Instead, you gaze at Itadori with a wistful smile, realizing that after today, you will no longer be part of his life.
There's no place for you by his side. It's simply too dangerous, and even if you were strong enough, you can't risk upsetting the delicate balance of this world. Everything will unfold the way it's supposed to, which means that your role here, albeit small as it was, is over.Â

hello!!! I love your fics! Can I request a kenma x reader? where he does things he hates but still does it for the reader because the reader loves it? eg: getting wet in the rain etc? thank you if do!!
âȘ back to fics masterlist
kozume kenma x reader
a/n: HI ANONNN i'm so glad you like our stuff! and ofc bae :) yes kenma would 100% do stuff he doesnât like just for his partner because they love it.
cw: not exactly the usual type of fic with a storyline, it's kind of like headcanons? mostly? but written headcanons? i think ????? idk man. anyway it's all fluff and kenma being ridiculously in love with you :)
wc: 1.7k
fic below!
the following is based on true events: lyssa: *sends yves a screenshot of the request* look there's another kenma req! yves: he's a literal cat lyssa: yeah! wait but that's not the point of the- yves: hold on i have a tweet for this lyssa: LMAO ofc u do
okay, on to the real stuff!
"Kenmaaaaa, let's go (insert activity of choice)!"
"...do we have to?"
"Yes! It'll be fun, I promise!"
"...are you sure?"
"Yes, come on!"
"...you really wanna?"
"Yes! And I promise to spend a whole day gaming with you. We can play literally any game you want. Now, can we go? Pleaseeee?"
Sigh. "Alright."
This was the usual conversation between the two of you whenever you wanted to do something Kenma didn't necessarily enjoy. In other words, youâd bribe him with a full day of gaming together.
You knew he'd much rather stay in any day of the week instead of go out and engage in such uncomfortable, sweaty and outdoor (derogatory) activities. Anyone who even remotely knew him would know that. However, you genuinely thought that doing more physical activities together would be good for the both of you.
Hence your increasingly frequent pleas for him to join you in doing said activities.
The first time you asked him out on such a date, it was to go swimming together. He looked at you with a blank expression, but you could read his thoughts exactly. "Do you even like me? Do you even know me?" was what he seemed to be saying. With his eyes, at least.
To be honest, most of his reasons for not wanting to go swimming were pretty valid. Why would he wanna get soaked just to take another shower after that? Why would he go swimming when there are gonna be people around to witness him flap around in the water? And his hair is already bleached, so why would he want to ruin it further by going into a pool practically loaded with chlorine? Out of everything, chlorine had to be the bacteria killer? Why couldn't it have been something nicer, like chocolate or something?!
Fair enough, you thought. But by the time the two of you were out of the pool that day (you don't even remember if you just played in the water or if you actually swam laps together), the sun was literally shining down on him, yet his smile seemed brighter than the sun itself. You weren't sure exactly what about swimming had made him smile like that the first time, but since then, every time you suggested going swimming together, you'd remind him how much fun he had the last time and he'd be less opposed to the idea.
Even though he'd probably never admit it to you, he actually enjoyed going swimming with you that first time because of you. The way you laughed and the way you seemed so comfortable in the water honestly captivated him. Then he started to notice how the sun reflected off the water and onto your skin, casting a golden glow around you.
So damn pretty, he remembered thinking to himself.
Soon, you started going swimming at night - to not "die of UV rays", in his words - and the way the moonlight reflected off your skin was simply ethereal. He couldn't have used any other word to describe you in that state. You reminded him of a siren, and if real sirens were even half as beautiful as you, heâd understand why those pirates and sailors were so easily lured out to sea.
Even if you couldn't swim swim, you still looked so content in the water that slowly, he couldn't say no to going swimming with you anymore.
The next kind of activity you asked him to do together was to go to the beach. And of course, you were met with the usual resistance at first. The way his face lightened when you said "swimming" then pinched together when you said "at the beach" told you exactly what he was thinking.
Ew. Sand. Everywhere.
Honestly? Valid. Sand gets everywhere - and I mean everywhere. The sand gets scorching hot in the daytime so why would anyone wanna go there? To get sand up your ass? To burn your feet off?? Like, can't you just do that over the kitchen stove or something?
That was until you were spending the day together at the beach, building sandcastles and sunbathing and just hanging out by the water. You could never forget how relaxed he looked by the end of it.
Sure, there were tons of other people at the beach that day, but he completely forgot about that when he was with you. You just did that somehow - make him feel like it was just the two of you even in a crowded room.
"It's not that bad, right, Kenma?"
"Eh..."
It's "not that bad" only because of you but I'm not admitting that, is what he was thinking.
This process continued with several more activities - cycling, hiking, even going to the gym.
When you asked him to go cycling together, his face told you, "What makes you think I'd enjoy cycling when there isn't even water to help me cool off this time? And what if I lose balance and fall?"
When you asked him to go hiking together, his expression screamed, "There aren't even gonna be wheels this time, are you kidding me? My legs are gonna give out. You're gonna have to haul me back home by yourself and it's not gonna be my problem."
And when you asked to go to the gym together, he muttered, "Kuroo and Yamamoto are rubbing off on you."
Despite these complaints, Kenma always came home looking more refreshed than ever. Even though he still didnât love those sports, he didnât hate them either, thanks to you. But that wasn't the point.
To him, the point was just seeing you do what made you happy. And as much as he hated getting all sweaty and sore and tired, he absolutely loved watching you go about the activities you had planned. Sure, you were just as sweaty and sore and tired as he was, but he didn't care. He honestly just cared that you were happy, and he knew then that he would do anything just to make you smile like that for the rest of your lives.
As for non-physical activities, if you love doing things like going to the museum, painting, gardening, yoga or meditation, board games, photography, he'd definitely be less resistant even though he doesn't particularly love those activities, and of course he'd just enjoy spending that time with you. Honestly, he's just glad you didn't pick something physically draining this time.
One time, you dragged him away from his video game and out of his bedroom to go play in the rain together. When you told him you wanted to go out into the rain, he had half a mind to drag you back into the house and lock you in the bedroom with him. But he was also kinda curious as to what you could possibly find so exciting in the middle of a rainstorm, so he followed you outside with just his hoodie, sweatpants and house slippers.
As raindrops pelted against his skin and clothes, he looked up to see you standing in front of him with your arms held out to the side and your head tilted slightly upward.
It was cool and rainy night, and Kenma would typically be in the comfort of his bed or gaming chair, safely sheltered from the rain. Why the hell would you wanna go out in the rain when you have a perfectly good house to stay in? He thought earlier.
Now, he finally had an answer to that. Two, in fact.
One, it was beautiful. He's obviously seen rain before, but only from his window. He had never been in the rain like this before. He's been caught in the rain on the way home from school or practice, sure, but never deliberately in the rain.
Looking up, the night sky was splattered with stars, barely visible behind metallic grey storm clouds. Silvery droplets raced towards the ground and glistening specks of water started to collect on his lashes. Blinking them away, he could see you in front of him.
The second answer to his earlier question was simple. You.
Dressed in one of his old volleyball jerseys, home shorts and slippers, you still looked so goddamn beautiful to him. You were laughing wholeheartedly even as raindrops assaulted your skin from above. You were somehow glowing even with just the dim streetlights nearby. Turning towards him, you grabbed his hands and pulled him towards you, further out onto the empty street.
"Come on, babe, have some fun!" You yelled, making sure he could hear you through the downpour. He could feel the rainwater slowly soaking through the material of his hoodie and onto his skin. He watched as you started kicking your feet and jumping into puddles of water on the road, and soon, the two of you were in the middle of an all-out puddle war.
Sooner or later you'd both be out of breath, and you'd end up with your arms wrapped around his neck and his around your waist. As the two of you swayed slowly back and forth, everything seemed to be in slow motion. The falling of rain around you, the steady beating of your heart, your slow breaths and the quiet rumble of thunder nearby added to the overall ambience.
Thinking back, he wasn't sure if this experience was beautiful because of the rain or because of you. Probably the latter, he thought. Furthermore, if he had to describe this experience in one word, he'd say it was magical. Simply and absolutely magical, and all thanks to you.
That day, he also decided that going out into the rain with you was worth an extra shower, and eventually this became a habit for the two of you whenever it rained heavily at night. If you moved to an apartment, you'd stand on the balcony together and stay there while it rained. Sometimes you'd dance, sometimes you'd play around with the puddles of rainwater on the ground, and sometimes you'd just be in each other's arms talking about anything and everything.
Main point is, heâs in love with you and he would do anything for you - even if it means getting sweaty and tired. Though I donât think heâd complain that much if you asked to play volleyball HAHAHA

May i request somwthing with, Sam and reader on a movie date but reader is a nerd and rambles to Sam about the movie after and Sam finds it cute đ„č you can do it however, I would like it nevertheless đ«¶đŒ (I love grumpy x sunshine trope srry)
Whatever You Say
Synopsis: You've rediscovered your favorite movie, and with that comes lots of rambling. Sam doesn't mind much.
Warnings: I forgot I took the language out, my neck hurts, my foot hurts, fluff, The Outsiders spoilers I suppose
A/N: Let's hope "constructive criticism âïžđ€" anon finds this up to par.
"I feel like... this is one of the few movies that do their book justice, you know?"
Sam looks up from the stove with a raised brow. It's been almost half an hour since the two of you finished watching The Outsiders, yet your enthusiasm hasn't wavered one bit since the moment she clicked play to the moment the end credits rolled (your tears, too, to Sam's secret amusement).
"Right," she says as she looks back to the spaghetti, more so to assure you she's still listening than anything else. Honestly, she's almost completely sure you wouldn't care if she wasn't.
"I mean, yeah, some people say it's not the best option, or, like... some aspects could be whatever, whatever, but it's good to me, though. You know?"
"Sure."
"Especially Johnny, I think. Like, Ralph was probably... one of, if not the best casting choice. He, like- he looks like a kicked puppy. Not saying that like- you know."
Sam lowers the heat on the stove, turning to grab the pesto sauce from the fridge. "I know, Y/n" she sighs as she opens the door, glancing in for a moment before reaching in and pulling out the pesto. She straightens up and turns back to the stoveâ and you, now that you've moved to lay half your body on the islandâ nudging the fridge door closed with her foot.
Sam opens the glass jar, dumping the remainder of the sauce into the pan unceremoniously. You watch with mild interest as you continue with your little analysis, or whatever it is you're doing. She has to admit, it is slightly endearing to see you so passionate about something, even a movie.
"I think people who still say the movie could have been better should remember the actual horrible movie adaptations out there. Like Avatar the Last Airbender," you say, tapping your hand on the island.
"I don't know what that is," Sam mumbles absently, stirring everything together, watching as meatballs disappear and spread out in the pan.
"It's something you never, ever wanna see, Sammy," you tell her matter-of-factly. Sam snorts.
"Anyways, those people are probably the same people who say the book didn't make sense in the first place. I didn't even know The Outsiders haters existed. Like, it... it makes sense. It does."
"Okay, Y/n, whatever you say," Sam says. She'll take your word for it. It was a good movie, she sort of sympathized with Darry. But she didn't really get into it the way you did.
"I mean, the whole movie is extremely symbolic, you know?"
"Uh..."
"I think it might be one of the best movie adaptations ever. I'll be honest, though, it's probably because the book was so good that the storyline does most of the work for the movie but..."
Sam looks up from the stove at you as you ramble on. She watches as you completely lose yourself in it, the way your eyes sort of light up and you have this little smirk whenever you get to a topic you especially enjoy. Sam leans forward on the counter.
After a long moment of you speaking with the absence of Sam's little hums of acknowledgement and 'sure's, you look up from the loose string on your shirt you'd been playing with, voice trailing off. You cock a brow at the look on Sam's face, something that makes her almost laugh.
"What?" you ask, confused. Sam just shakes her head and reaches over to turn off the stove, chuckling to herself. She turns away from you, making her way over to the cabinets where the plates are.
"Nothing," she says, though her tone is a little too amused for it to be nothing. You watch as she grabs two forks and brings it all back to the stove, piling both plates with generous amounts of spaghetti.
She puts a lid on the pan with the remaining spaghetti and carries the two plates to the table. She sets them down, in next to each other in front of your usual seats. You hop off of the island and take a seat in one of the chairs.
Sam settles herself in beside you and picks up her fork as you let out a little sigh.
"It looks good," you say, grabbing your fork as well. You use it to pick up some spaghetti, but when you lift it to your mouth you pause.
"You know what? I think if you watch the movie while you listen to the book it'd be a cool thing. 'Cause some parts will line up and you can see the stuff happening as it's being read, and stuff. Also, it's cool to see what's different."
You take a bite. Sam drops her gaze to her own plate and digs in. It's comfortably quiet for a moment. Your fork clatters against the table.
"I just feel like Johnny's death was such a necessary thing, like it was something we as an audience needed even though it broke our hearts, andâ What?"
Sam sighs, though a soft smile takes over her features. She shakes her head, just looking at you for a moment.
"Eat your food, babe," she finally says, her smile still present as she looks back to her own food.

Itâs just something short, while I work on a few requests Iâve gotten, Iâm gonna also be posting this on ao3 If youâre interested go check it out. Now as always have fun, and lmk what you think because I kind of have mixed feelings about this.
wc: 4.1k
You moved between tables at the cafe, balancing a tray loaded with coffee cups, sneakers squeaking faintly with each step. The place was buzzing with late-morning chatter, filled with the smell of fresh coffee and fried eggs. Youâd perfected the art of pretending to be completely focused on your job, but every spare second, your mind wandered back to the idea of actingâyour true passion, the career you were chasing even if you were currently only known as âthe girl with the tray.â
On your break, you slumped into a corner booth with your phone, scrolling through casting calls, your eyes landing on headlines youâd read a dozen times. Your finger hovered over an audition listing when your phone suddenly vibrated. You barely recognized the number, but your managerâs name popped up on the screen.
âHey, itâs really not a good time, Iâmââ
âSit down,â he interrupted, his voice breathless with excitement. âAre you sitting down?â
You raise an eyebrow glancing around. âYeah, Iâm sitting. Whatâs going on?â
âYou know that big casting call I sent you on last week?â His voice was buzzing with excitement, a little smug.
âThe one you said was a âlong shot,â right? Look donât mess with me. You said they wouldnât even look atââ
âThey looked. And they loved you. You got the part.â
For a second, the noise in the cafe faded to nothing. You blinked, trying to make sure youâd heard him right.
âYouâre not serious,â you said, your voice barely a whisper.
âDead serious,â he said. âThis is the role. Youâre going to be in a movie with Victoria Neuman. The Victoria Neuman.â
Your heart started to hammer. âWait, Victoria Neuman? That Victoria Neuman? The one whoââ
âThe one whoâs headlining the Oscars, the one whose face is on every billboard on Sunset Boulevard, yes. I told you itâs big.â
You gripped your phone so tightly your knuckles turned white. âBut⊠how?â
Your manager laughed. âBecause youâre good, thatâs how. Look, they want to meet you this Saturday for lunch. The director wants to give you the rundown himself.â
You could barely process it. Youâd spent so many nights pacing around your tiny apartment, rehearsing lines for auditions that led nowhere, wondering if youâd ever break through. And here it was, your shot.
âI swear⊠if youâre messing with me, Iâll never forgive you.â
âTrust me, kid. Iâd never mess with you on this. So you better get your best outfit ready.â
You couldnât stop yourself from laughing, a small, breathless sound. For the first time in months, you felt like you were exactly where you were meant to be.
Saturday afternoon you stood outside an upscale restaurant, your heart thudding as you stared up at the polished glass doors. Youâd spent nearly an hour choosing an outfit, finally settling on something simpleâa black dress and a vintage jacket youâd found in a thrift shop. You tugged at the sleeves nervously, feeling a strange mix of excitement and intimidation. Your manager had reassured you repeatedly, but the idea of meeting with a famous director and talking about your role felt surreal.
Inside, your manager waved you over, standing beside a man with sharp, discerning eyes and a warm, easy smile. He was younger than youâd expected, dressed casually in a way that somehow made him look more important.
He greeted and you reached out, introducing yourself and trying not to let your nerves show. âThank you so much for⊠I mean, this is justâŠâ
He grinned, shaking your hand. âTake a breath. Weâre all just people here, no need to be so formal. Grab a seat. Letâs talk.â
You slipped into the seat across from him, trying to play it cool as the waiter poured sparkling water into your glasses. He leaned back, studying you with a quiet intensity that made you feel both exposed and encouraged.
âSo, I saw your audition tape,â he started. âYouâve got somethingâan authenticity that I want in this role.â
You couldnât help but blush. âThank you. Iâm really honored you thought of me.â
âNow, Iâm not going to lie,â he continued, âthis project is demanding. The story centers on two women, past lovers who come from very different backgrounds, but they find solace and understanding in each other. Itâs raw, emotional. Weâre looking for chemistry, vulnerability. Thatâs why Victoria Neuman is the co-lead.â
At the mention of Victoriaâs name, your eyes widened. You tried to hide your reaction, but he noticed, a small smile tugging at his lips.
âYeah, the Victoria Neuman. Sheâs a big personality, but sheâs focused. And demanding. Donât be surprised if she challenges youâshe does that with everyone.â
You took a deep breath. âIâll⊠Iâll do my best.â
âGood,â He said, nodding approvingly. âI have a feeling youâll do more than that.â
You spent the rest of the lunch discussing the film, the script, and his vision for your character. Your excitement grew with each detail, feeling a spark of confidence you hadnât known you had. By the end of the meal, you couldnât believe you were about to step into a project like this.
The morning of the table read was overcast, the gray sky adding to your nerves. You arrived at the studio early, clutching your script as you walked into the bustling room. People were milling around, flipping through scripts, chatting casually. Your heart thumped as you found your seat, glancing nervously around the table.
Just as you were trying to steady your breath, you heard a small hush ripple through the room. You looked up and felt your pulse quicken. Victoria Neuman had arrived.
She moved gracefully, exuding a quiet, confident presence. She was dressed simply, yet she looked every bit the star she was, her gaze sharp and focused. She walked over to the table, catching your eye for a brief moment before giving a polite nod.
Your breath hitched. Act normal, you reminded yourself, pretending your palms werenât sweating. You managed a small smile in return, trying to look calm.
The director greeted everyone and launched into his vision for the film. âThis isnât just a love story. Itâs about connection, about finding something real in the chaos. We want to capture those quiet, vulnerable moments, the ones that people donât talk about but feel every day.â
When it was time for the read-through, you and Victoria shared your first scene together. You focused on your lines, but your heart was pounding as you read opposite Victoria. Her voice was smooth, effortlessly slipping into character, and her eyes stayed locked on you all throughout the scene, intensifying each line.
By the end of the scene, you could hardly breathe. She leaned back, nodding slightly, and then you offered a small, approving smile. It was just a flicker, but it felt like an acknowledgmentâa silent promise that you belonged here, too.
After the session ended, you lingered at the edge of the room, replaying the moment in your mind. You were about to leave when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
Turning, you found yourself face-to-face with Victoria, your name escaping her lips softly. âIs it?â she asked, her voice calm but with an unmistakable warmth.
You nodded, trying not to let your voice shake. âYes. I⊠I just wanted to say, Iâm a huge fan of yours. Iâve watched all your films.â
She gave a soft laugh. âThanks. I know it must be overwhelming, jumping into something like this. But you were great today.â
Your heart lifted. âThank you. That really means a lot.â
She nodded, her eyes lingering on you just a moment longer than necessary. âIâll see you at the next rehearsal.â
As she turned and walked away, you felt a flutter in your chest. You knew this role was going to be life-changing, but you hadnât expected Victoriaâs presence to affect you so deeply. For the first time, you wondered if this film might change your life in more ways than one.
Your apartment was a mess. Scripts were scattered across your small, worn coffee table, along with half-empty coffee cups and stacks of notes. You had highlighted every line, each margin filled with scrawled thoughts and questions. Late into the night, you practiced alone, your reflection in the mirror staring back with the intensity you hoped your character would convey.
The role wasnât simple. Your character, Lauren, was a guarded, impulsive complex woman burdened by loss. She had loved deeply once but had lost it all, and as you read through the lines, you felt yourself peeling back her layers, finding the pain and resilience hidden beneath.
You practiced your lines over and over, speaking them softly, then with anger, trying to understand the characterâs emotional range. You kept Laurenâs experiences in mind, dissecting every reaction and choice sheâd made, wondering how you yourself would react in such moments. You hadnât had much in life, but you knew about chasing dreams, about feeling that endless mix of hope and fear. There was so much of yourself in Laurenâand that scared you. You wanted to do this right, not only for yourself but for the chance youâd been given to stand on this stage.
You arrived on set early your first day, your nerves a steady thrum under the excitement. The studio was a blur of movementâcrew members rolling carts stacked with equipment, actors adjusting their costumes, assistants buzzing around the director with notes and coffee cups. Cameras and lights stood like sentinels around the set, wires coiled across the floor in intricate patterns you had to carefully step over.
You spotted your director in the middle of it all, standing beside the cinematographer, discussing the shots for the day. His voice was calm yet energized as he gestured toward the mock-up of the first scene. This was where the magic was happening, the place youâd dreamed of being. And now, you were here, not as an extra or a bit part, but as one of the leads. The weight of that realization pressed down on you, but it was also exhilarating.
âHello there! Good to see you,â he called, waving you over as he noticed you lingering at the edge of the set. âReady for the big day?â
You smiled, hiding the nerves that knotted in your stomach. âAs ready as Iâll ever be.â
âGood, good. Remember, this isnât just about the lines. Itâs about Laurenâs silence, her glances, her gestures. Donât be afraid to let the camera see that,â He said, his eyes filled with encouragement.
You nodded. Feeling the directorâs words sink in, you needed to live the characterânot just act her. You werenât sure if you would be able to pull it off, but you were at least ready to try.
The first few days on set went by in a haze of new faces and whispered directions. You and Victoria had only one brief exchange about your first scene together. She had approached you with a warm yet reserved smile.
âHey, I thought maybe we could run through this scene together. Just to get a feel for each otherâs rhythms,â she suggested, her tone calm and professional.
âAbsolutely. Iâd love that,â you replied, your heart racing. You kept your voice steady, but you couldnât shake the nervous flutter you felt deep in your chest.
Victoria read the lines with such ease, her delivery flawless, yet subtly different each time as if experimenting with nuances. You watched her, trying to keep your focus, yet every word from her seemed to pull you in deeper.
As you wrapped up, she nodded approvingly. âYouâre good. I can see why theyâve picked you.â
You flushed, stammering a quick thank-you, and then watched as she walked off, her steps graceful, her confidence effortless. Just keep it professional, You told yourself. But as the days passed, it became harder to ignore the warmth you felt whenever she looked at you, a lingering gaze that seemed to see more than just your role.
When the day came for your ever first scene, you arrived on set early, going through your lines one more time. The scene was intenseâa reunion between Lauren and Helene, two people who had shared a complicated past and were bound by emotions neither of them could entirely let go. You had thought you were prepared, but now, with each beat of your heart, you felt a new nervousness you hadnât anticipated.
As you walked on set, you saw Victoria standing at the other end of the room, speaking with the director, who animatedly explained his vision for the scene. She caught your gaze and gave you a nod, her usual professional demeanor in place, though something about her expression felt unreadableâguarded, maybe, as if she was bracing herself for what was to come.
He turned toward you, breaking you out of your thoughts. âHey, come on over. Letâs get you in place. So, hereâs the setup: Lauren is paying an unexpected visit to Helene at her office, and sheâs there because⊠well, thatâs up to you. She has her reasons, but the scene hinges on that ambiguity, the push-pull between them. Lauren is bold, maybe even a little reckless, but we need to feel that Helene is barely holding herself together.â
You took a steadying breath and nodded, your nerves slowly morphing into a focused determination. This was Laurenâs moment to push, to test the waters with Helene. And in a way, it felt a little like you yourself were testing somethingâfeeling your way through the strange pull youâd somehow begun to feel around Victoria. You couldnât explain it, but it was there, like an undercurrent humming just beneath the surface.
Your director called for quiet on set, and as the cameras rolled, you transformed. You were no longer you but Lauren, striding into Heleneâs office with a calm confidence, a hint of mischief in your gaze as you found Helene at her desk, pouring over stacks of papers.
âHello, old friend. Long time, no see,â you said, your voice low but carrying a hint of hesitation, as if unsure of the reunion.
Helene looked up, startled, and for a split second, the cool facade she wore slipped, allowing a flicker of surprise and maybe even a touch of longing. Then it was gone, replaced by her usual detached, slightly exasperated expression as she leaned back, crossing her arms over her chest.
âLauren,â she said, her voice edged with a mix of wariness and familiarity. âNot that long. Maybe a year?â
You tensed, responding instinctively. âA yearâs a long time when youâre left wondering.â
The words hung in the air, and the silence that followed was thick, charged. You could feel Victoriaâs eyes on you, not just as Helene but as herself, watching you, assessing you.
You let a slow smile spread across your face, the kind that was both playful and just a bit dangerous. You crossed the room, closing the space between you until you were just close enough to lean down slightly, your gaze intent.
âWhat, I canât just stop by for a friendly visit?â Laurenâs voice was light, teasing, but there was an unmistakable intensity in her eyes that made Helene shift, visibly uncomfortable yet rooted to the spot.
Helene rolled her eyes, but her hands, you noticed, clenched slightly on the arms of her chair. âLast I checked, we werenât exactly on friendly terms.â
Your smile softened, and you tilted your head, a touch of vulnerability breaking through. âMaybe thatâs something I wanted to change.â
For a long, charged moment, you held each otherâs gaze, a silent conversation happening in the space between you. Heleneâs jaw tightened as she looked away, a hint of pain flashing across her face.
But Lauren wasnât one to let go that easily. She stepped closer, until she was close enough to reach out, to touch, though she didnât. Her presence was all-consuming, and you could feel your own pulse quicken, blurring the line between yourself and Lauren.
âCome on, Helene,â Lauren murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. âI know I hurt you. But that doesnât mean I havenât thought about you⊠that I havenât missed this.â She let the words hang, raw and intimate, before adding softly,
âMissed you.â
Heleneâs cool facade cracked just slightly, a flash of pain and frustration in her eyes as she stood up staring back up at Lauren, her composure barely holding. âYou donât get to say that. Not after all this time.â
The line struck something deep within you as she spoke it, feeling Heleneâs hurt and resentment like a living thing. But Lauren your character, ever defiant, only leaned in closer, her hand coming up to brace against the wall beside Helene, effectively trapping her.
âTell me you donât feel the same,â Lauren challenged, her voice a low, urgent whisper. The tension in the room thickened, and you felt the weight of Victoriaâs gaze, a spark of something intense and undeniable in her eyes.
Helene hesitated, her resolve wavering, her breath catching as her gaze flickered from Laurenâs eyes to her lips, the charged air between them pulsing with all the words left unspoken. But just as the moment seemed poised to tip over into something more, the director called, âCut!â
You snapped back to yourself, blinking as you released the breath you hadnât realized youâd been holding. Your heart raced, your skin tingling from the lingering tension of the scene. You let your arm drop from the wall, stepping back to give Victoria space.
Victoria straightened, her expression unreadable as she adjusted her jacket, her gaze sweeping the set before finally settling on you. There was a flicker of something in her eyesâsomething that looked almost like⊠admiration? Or was it something else?
âThat was intense,â you said, trying to keep your tone light as you offered a small, slightly self-conscious smile.
Victoria nodded, a faint smile playing at the edges of her lips. âYou have a way of bringing out the worst in Lauren,â she replied, her tone laced with irony but also something warmer, softer. âItâs⊠refreshing.â
You laughed, a little relieved but also thrown off by the words. âWell, sheâs complicated. Keeps me on my toes.â
Victoria tilted her head, studying you for a moment. âComplicated is good. Makes it more interesting.â
The look you exchanged held a spark, something you couldnât quite name but was beginning to recognize more and more each time your eyes met. It was as if you were both playing a game, one where the rules were unspoken, yet unmistakably understood.
Before you could say anything else, your director clapped his hands, calling everyoneâs attention for a quick break before the next setup. You caught one last look from Victoria before she turned away, feeling the remnants of the scene still thrumming in your veins.
As you headed back to your trailer, your mind swirled with a mix of emotionsâexcitement, nerves, and the undeniable pull you felt whenever you and Victoria shared the screen. Youâd always thought the hardest part of acting was embodying someone elseâs feelings, but now, for the first time, you wondered if maybe the hardest part was keeping your own at bay.
You rubbed your temples, fatigue and excitement mingling as you gathered your things in your trailer. The day had been intense, the charged energy between you and Victoria in that last scene still humming under your skin. Just as you were about to head out, you swung the door openâand nearly collided with Victoria, who stood in front of the trailer with her hand mid-air, ready to knock.
âOh!â you stammered, stepping back in surprise. âI didnât expectââ
She chuckled, lowering her hand. âNeither did I, apparently.â There was a slight pause as you stood there, your heart beating just a bit faster, the exhaustion from the day melting away in her presence.
âI was actually going to suggest grabbing a drink. Somewhere quiet to unwind afterâŠâ She gestured vaguely, but you knew exactly what she meant.
You blinked, caught off guard but strangely thrilled. âA drink sounds⊠perfect,â you said, a smile slowly spreading across your face.
You ended up at a dimly lit, tucked-away bar, the kind of place you would never have noticed on your own. Victoria seemed to know it well, however, leading you inside with the ease of someone who valued privacy.
You settled into a booth near the back, ordering drinks and sinking into the quiet atmosphere. For the first time all day, you were free of the cameras, the lines, the lingering tension of your roles. Here, you were just you and Victoria, sharing a drink like two colleagues winding down after work.
âSo,â she began, raising an eyebrow over her glass. âHow was your first day of intense romantic drama?â
You laughed, taking a sip of your drink. âI have to say, it was⊠exhilarating. But definitely a bit intimidating.â you glanced at her, a little more openly than you might have dared earlier. âYou make it seem so effortless. I keep wondering if Iâm doing it right.â
âTrust me, youâre doing it right.â Victoria leaned forward, her expression earnest. âActing isnât about ârightâ or âwrong,â anyway. Itâs about trusting yourself. You get lost in the moment, and⊠well, you did that today.â
You felt your cheeks warm, feeling simultaneously grateful and a little self-conscious under her gaze. âThanks. Coming from you, that actually means a lot.â
You fell into an easy rhythm, talking about the movie, then drifting into lighter topicsâthe absurdity of long filming days, the occasional mishaps on set. Victoria shared a story about an elaborate costume mishap during a period drama that left her frantically trying to fix her dress just seconds before a big shot. You laughed so hard you nearly spilled your drink.
âIs this your secret weapon?â you asked with a grin. âGetting everyone to laugh so they forget their lines?â
âAh, youâve caught me,â she replied, a playful glint in her eye. âItâs all part of my master plan. Throw them off just enough so I can look that much better.â
You chuckled, and then, in a moment of pure spontaneity, you blurted, âWell, I donât have your number. So if you ever need a partner in crime⊠or just someone to grab a drink withâŠâ
Victoriaâs eyebrows rose, a hint of mischief in her smile. âIs that your idea of subtle? Or is that just how you are with women?â
You felt your cheeks go warm again, though you grinned, refusing to back down. âMaybe a bit of both.â
She held your gaze for a beat longer than necessary before reaching for her phone. She tapped a few times, and your phone buzzed in your bag. âThere. Now you have my number,â she said, her tone playful, yet her eyes held a trace of something deeper. âJust⊠donât go spreading it around. I have a reputation to uphold.â
âOh, wouldnât dream of it,â you replied, matching her teasing tone.
You finished your drinks, lingering for a few more quiet moments before you finally decided to head home. Outside the bar, you shared a quick, almost shy goodbye, both of you staying just a bit longer than needed. You watched as she disappeared down the street, a strange blend of exhilaration and confusion swirling inside you.
When you finally returned to your small apartment, you lied awake in bed, staring up at the ceiling. The dayâs events replayed in your mind, your thoughts wandering from your intense scene to the quiet, easy comfort of the bar. Every moment with her felt like an uncharted path you were just beginning to explore.
A smile crept onto your face as you thought of her teasing remarks, her gaze, the effortless way she seemed to fill every space she entered. You couldnât quite pin down what was happening between you, only that something had started, and you were more than ready to see where it would lead.
