Underfell: File Name not Edgy Enough #25
WARNING: I WANT NO RESPONSIBILITY OVER SPOILING THINGS FOR OTHERS. THAT BEING SAID, THIS IS HOW FILE NAME NOT FOUND WOULD FUNCTION IN THE AU OF UNDERFELL. BEFORE YOU READ THIS, UNLIKE THE NICE TIME OF UNDERTALE, THIS WORLD IS KILL OR BE KILLED. THIS STORY WILL BE GRAPHIC, GORY, USE SWEARS LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS, AND DEAL WITH SENSITIVE SUBJECT MATTERS. FOR EXAMPLE, THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE READ THE FILE NAME RELOCATED SPOOF WILL KNOW HOW I PICTURE THIS VERSION OF LYNSIE COMING TO THE UNDERGROUND. IT IS NOT AN ACCIDENT. IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF SOMETHING DUMB. IT IS BECAUSE SHE CHOOSES TO END HER LIFE. SO TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. I MADE IT BECAUSE I NEEDED TO LET SOME OF THIS EDGINESS OUT OF MYSELF. WHICH I GUESS MAKES UNDERFELL LYNSIE EVEN MORE TRUE TO WHO I REALLY AM. ANYWAY, ENJOY. ^_^
------------------------------------------------
Hell hath no fury like this fish woman. For Undyne's rage casts a near-visible aura of hate as she stormed her way into Hotland. Clad in her special armor, keeping her form from dehydrating, she intimidates those that witness her barreling towards the Lab. With a mighty kick, she almost hurls the doors from their hinges before continuing inside. Knowing all too well where her intended target is. Cameras follow her movements but do little to warn their owner in time. Alphys receives the signal just as the echos of hurried stomps reaches her ears. By the time the doors are thrown open, Alphys has made the scene a little more authentic and hides away her more sketchy items. As one can imagine, the Captain of the Royal Guard is less than pleased to see a human being given treatment instead of having its soul collected.
"U-Undyne...W-W-What a surprise."
"Cut the crap, Alphys. How long have you known about it being in the Underground?! Why wasn't I informed?! And why, in Asgore's name, are you keeping that thing alive?!"
The disgruntled captain points at the unconscious human strapped to a bloody slab with several machines around her. Thick bandages cover the wounds given on-screen, the eerie beeps of the machines that are annoyingly loud in the silence, sticky liquid crimson softly dribbles from the slab edges to a small pool draining on the floor as tubes and wires are placed on vital areas. The scene looks like a medical mess. For what good it does to try, Alphys puts on a straight face and gets professionally cold to defend her work.
"Your Captain of the Guard status does not mean I report to you or have to inform you of anything."
The rage of Undyne only increases.
"What did you say?!"
Alphys adjusts her glasses, snidely flipping Undyne off with her middle finger.
"I am the Royal Scientist. I work under and report directly to the King himself. My rank supersedes yours. And as such, unless it is a matter that requires your assistance, I will inform only those that are needed to be informed. Understood?"
Undyne snarls beneath her helmet. This type of thing wasn't uncommon. She knows that Alphys separates herself when it comes to her work. Undyne does it too but tries not to be so obnoxious. It's moments like this that make her crush a little less on this lizard girl.
"But to answer your question...This human has been living in the Ruins for quite some time. Sans and Papyrus have been monitoring her for me."
The skeletons? Those sneaky bastards! She bet Papyrus was thinking he'd use this to one-up her.
"Why use them and not me?"
"Really? You can't stand the cold and they live there. It's a no brainer."
Good point.
"Okay...But why monitor? The law clearly states that the soul of any human is to be collected. No exceptions!"
Undyne summons a spear and readies to spike the human through the face. That is till Alphys moves over to the human and interacts with one of the machines, making her soul slowly emerge...it's white. This sight has the captain of the guard drop her weapon and remove her helm to ensure her eye was not playing a trick on her. Without her helm, the true visage of the Captain of the Guard is shown. Undyne is a piscine anthropomorphic monster. She has blue scales and a long red hair she keeps in a wild ponytail. Red and blue fins on the sides of her head act like ears, she has no nose to speak of. Her teeth are sharp yellow daggers like a barracuda or shark. She has red eye shadow and has an eye-patch on her left eye. Her good eye has a black vertical pupil and a yellow sclera.
"It's...White? What the hell? It was light blue on TV. I saw it!"
"We all did. And it was purple when I first examined her. This is why I've had her under severance and not executed. This human...It's not like the humans we've encountered or the ones in our texts. She seems to be able to change traits or possesses multiple traits."
"How is that possible? Is that even a thing? Is that a thing humans can do now?"
"I haven't collected enough data to determine that. My current theory is that she may be a random mutation, an evolutionary anomaly of sorts. Though, from the information I have gotten, it seems the humans of now have indeed fully lost their usage of magic."
"I thought those past ones seemed off."
"Yes. The previous humans were lacking in their levels of magic but they still possessed it. This one, however, according to my scans had no magic in her soul prior to coming to the Underground."
Scientist say what?
"Wait...What's that supposed to mean?"
Alphys pulls out what looks to be her cell phone and moves it over the soul, scanning till it beeps. She then shows the results to the Captain.
"There's at least 20% to 30% magic now resonating in her soul. Enough to trigger magic prepubescence."
Undyne snickers at the thought of such a thing and it nearly breaks Alphys's composure.
"You can't be serious."
"I am. I had to stabilize the flux with those patches we give out to teens. It's why she's about 30%."
"Dare I ask...How a non-magic soul suddenly has magic?"
"Not sure. Perhaps it's the nature of such a weak soul to pull magic when it can, however, it can. Be it from the surroundings, food, or contact with other beings of magic. Who's to say? Or her soul could be like a parasite and leeching magic for as of yet unknown reasons. I'm just throwing ideas at this point."
"So...What you're saying is the human is dangerous."
"All humans are dangerous, Undyne. But this one? *scoff* Since being down here her LV hasn't budged from its base level."
The Captain is intrigued.
"Has it not been in a fight?"
"Quite the opposite. There's plenty of telltale signs, not to mention video surveillance, that indicates she's been attacked."
"So the wimp flees? Pathetic."
"Sometimes. Most of the time they endure the fight and find a way to end it without fighting back."
A gruff laugh leaves the fish woman.
"Pacifism? Down here? Now that's a joke."
Alphys checks on a liquid-filled bag that's emptying into the human's veins.
"As dumb as it may be, her strategy is a good thing..."
She increases the dripping.
"By not attacking, she isn't killing anyone. And by not killing anyone, she isn't gaining LV. And you know what that means."
Undyne grins like a hungry barracuda.
"It makes it all the easier to collect the last soul."
Alphys nods and removes her glasses to clean them.
"Still...With the number of unknown variables, I'd have to insist on further study of this soul and not just yet bringing it to the King, even if she dies."
"How come?"
"Like I said, too many unknowns. If Asgore wishes to fuse with the seven souls it would be best to make sure this one doesn't overpower or corrupt his own."
"Hmmm...I guess that's fair. We don't need to waste the human souls and lose the King if we can help it."
"My thoughts exactly."
Alphys puts her glasses back on and steps away from the human.
"Come, Undyne. We must leave now."
Confusion comes to the Captain.
"What? Why? You're really going to leave her unattended?"
Alphys grows colder.
"Do not be so stupid."
Undyne had to bite her tongue hard.
"I never said she'd be alone."
With a simple button press on her phone, the sound of speeding rubber screeches towards them, the door opening seconds later.
"IS IT TIME? SHE'S IN STABLE CONDITION?"
Mettaton skids to a stop with excitement.
"She's stable. And under heavy sedation. You may proceed with the prep work."
Digitized giggling pours from the automaton.
"EXCELLENT. LADIES, IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME..."
Undyne is ushered out by Alphys before she can question things.
"Um..."
"Don't think about it too much."
"But..."
"As they say...The show must go on. I suggest you stick around and watch what unfolds."
Undyne groans to herself.
"I'll make that spicy ramen that you like."
"...Extra chili flakes?"
"Yep."
"Hot damn!"
With the women gone, Mettaton turns his attention to the human on the slab.
"OH DARLING..."
A compartment opens on his side and he extracts what looks like a kit of some kind.
"WE HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO."
[AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER-BEHIND THE LAB]
The wall of the building opens up, a split door allows the heat of Hotland in while the unconscious human carried by the killer robot comes out.
"FINALLY...THE SHOW CAN COMMENCE ONCE AGAIN."
While two of his arms set the human down his other two open a bottle of smelling salts and wave it under her nose, slowly rousing her back to consciousness.
"WAKIE WAKIE, DARLING."
She groans in delirium and sits up. Medical grade sedatives really pack a punch.
"FOCUS DEAR. HOW MANY FINGERS AM I HOLDING UP?"
Mettaton holds up his four arms and each is displaying two fingers. Her head wobbles with dizziness and she rubs the sleep from her eyes.
"Mettaton? *yawn* Why is it so hot?"
Why did she have to be so cute when so messed up?
"I'LL ANSWER YOU IF YOU ANSWER ME."
She shakes her head clear and stares at him for a bit.
"Eight."
He sighs with relief and helps her up before patting her head.
"GOOD. YOU'RE PERFECTLY FINE."
"Not entirely sure that's what I'd call it after the game you made me do. But whatever. Least I ain't dead."
"THERE WE GO. ALWAYS LOOKING ON THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THINGS."
Her senses coming back, she looks at her form and begins growling at the mechanical television star.
"IS SOMETHING THE MATTER?"
"I'm going to ask this as calmly as I can and I want you to be honest...Did you dress me in my sleep?!"
In Mettaton's defense, it's not like he could leave her in her bloody outfit or the medical gown. And to his credit, he made it for her to be both fashionable as well as comfortable in Hotland's arid heat. A black zip back cutout crisscross cami top with MTT emblazoned in red across the chest, waist-high black garter shorts with tiny Mettaton studs along the straps, black ripped footless tights end in knee-high black riding boots that have red MTT zippers, and to add to her annoyance her nails were also painted red. The only normal thing about her was he kept her hair tied in a ponytail but moved it higher up to be more lively than her usual dead weight droop.
"TO BE FAIR, DARLING, YOU WERE A BLOODY MESS AFTER THE SHOW. IT WOULD BE TASTELESS TO HAVE MY CO-STAR CONTINUE IN ANYTHING LESS THAN THE BEST."
She gets flustered.
"That's not the point! You could've waited till I was awake and I would've dressed myself! Instead, you did so while I was vulnerable."
She shudders and looks away from him.
"To think...I started to like you."
An exclamation mark flashes on his screen.
"But it seems you're just as bad as the scum on the surface."
He panics and waves his hands in defense.
"W-WAIT A SECOND, DEAR, IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!"
"Then...Aside from seeing my frail body, do you deny the obvious usage of me as brand advertisement?"
The look she gives him is cold and hurt, making him flinch.
"UM...WELL...I..."
She turns around with her hands on her hips and smirks.
"We're not on camera right now, are we?"
His screen flashes in confusion.
"...NO? NO CAMERAS ARE ACTIVE AT THIS MOMENT. WHY?"
"Heh...Because you're being you right now. The same guy I got to know over the phone. TV you is more cold and sticks to the script, like a soulless machine. This you, the ghost in the shell, this guy I like and willing to work with."
He's caught off guard by that remark.
"UM...WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU MEAN BY THAT?"
"Which part?"
"GHOST IN THE SHELL."
"Oh, that? It's the name of a manga/anime series. The setting is a future where technology is so advanced that it becomes an existential crisis if souls can transfer over to pure machine bodies and if artificial intelligence can gain humanity through cyber-evolution. It's really deep."
"OH."
"It also is a play on the fact you're literally a ghost in a robot shell."
He flinches.
"W-WHAT? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE..."
"Dude, don't lie. We're not on camera and Alphys already confirmed my suspicions."
He blanks for a moment sighing.
"WELL...BRAVO, DARLING. YOU'VE SOLVED MY GREATEST SECRET."
She shrugs.
"It's no big deal. And don't worry about anyone else knowing, I ain't a snitch."
"SUCH A CLEVER GIRL. I KNEW YOU'D BE PERFECT FOR THIS."
Her arms fold.
"While I was messing with you before, I am pissed about this."
"WHICH PART?"
"This! This isn't my style. It feels weird and shows way too much skin for my liking."
At this rate, he was lucky she couldn't see her reflection or she'd be pissed about how he did her makeup. Red eye-shadow to create a smoky effect on her eyelids. Mascara to make her long lashes even longer. A bold black swoop of liquid eyeliner all the way to the outer corners of her eyes and swept a little up at the end. And the pièce de résistance is the luscious red lipstick to make it all pop.
"BUT, DARLING, YOUR OLD CLOTHES WERE RUINED. BESIDES, WITH HOW THICK THAT FABRIC WAS, YOU'D DIHYDRATE IN MOMENTS OUT HERE. AND NO ONE WANTS A SWEATY DRIED OUT SACK ON SCREEN."
She leers.
"NOT SAYING YOU ARE ONE. MAKING THAT CLEAR HERE."
She sighs.
"I see your point. I ain't happy about it, but I see the reason behind it."
"GOOD."
She checks herself and gets upset.
"My items? Where are my items?!"
"I TOLD YOU, YOUR CLOTHES WERE A MESS AND I CHANGED YOU INTO THIS."
She grabs him.
"Metta, my buddy, I need my gear. My stats are crap without my items. Please tell me you didn't trash them...Please?!"
To understand her panic he checks her.
[Lynsie - LV:1 - HP: 40 ATK: 20 DEF: 11 - Too nice for her own good.]
Her HP increased? How? Her LV hasn't increased. Did she earn EXP in the game and recovery? Wait...The other stats are dangerously weak. Hmmm...This gives him a wicked idea. If his screen could grin it would be wide and twisted.
"OH HEAVENS NO, DARLING. YOUR POSSESSIONS ARE SAFE."
Her eyes light up.
"Sweet! Can I please have them?"
He grabs her waist and scoots her back from him a bit.
"UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT HAVE THEM ON ME."
"But...W-Where are they then?"
All four hands point out into the distance.
"YOU CAN HAVE YOUR ITEMS BACK...ONCE YOU MAKE TO THE NEXT FILM SET."
Her jaw drops.
"Dude! Are you freaking serious? Do we see the same stats? Because I'm fairly sure I can get one-shot killed out here."
"RELAX, DARLING..."
"Relax?! Says the guy that literally can't be hurt!"
He waves dismissively.
"AND THEY CALL ME DRAMATIC. LOOK, I CAN'T JUST GIVE YOU THEM BACK NOR CAN I TAKE YOU TO THE NEXT SET. YOU SHOULD KNOW THE REASON WHY."
She glares before pouting in defeat.
"The law requires you to still attempt to 'capture' me."
His screen flashes.
"BINGO! AND TO PROVE THAT I AM FOLLOWING THE LAW WHILE STILL WORKING WITH YOU, YOU WILL BE TELEVISED AS YOU MAKE YOUR WAY THROUGH MY SHOW GAUNTLET."
She looks at him funny.
"TO BE HONEST IT'S JUST NORMAL ENVIRONMENT AND PIPEWORK FOR THE CORE. BUT I DID ADD OBSTACLES AND PUZZLES, SO TECHNICALLY IT COUNTS."
Her funny look grows.
"And you film back there in all that?"
"IT MAKES MORE SENSE WHEN YOU SEE IT."
"I guess."
All four hands slap together in a loud clap.
"GREAT! NOW THAT THAT IS ALL SAID AND DONE, HERE'S THE DEAL. ONCE YOU TURN THAT CORNER AND BEGIN THE TREK, YOU'LL BE BACK ON TV."
"Okay."
"TRY NOT TO BREAK THE FOURTH WALL, WE DON'T NEED VIEWERS KNOWING YOU'VE BEEN HERE LONGER THAN ADVERTISED AND WITH THE HELP OF OTHERS."
"True, very true."
"AND SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR PHONE..."
"Can I get that back too? I swear I won't make calls."
"OR TEXT?"
"Did you even see my phone? It can't text or take pictures."
"HMMM...I'LL THINK ABOUT IT."
"Please and thank you."
"LIKE I WAS SAYING SINCE YOU DON'T HAVE IT AND MAY NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING A FEW OF THE MORE TRICKIER PUZZLES..."
On hand retreats into his body and pops out with a small clip-like earring that, you guessed it, looks like him.
"ATTACH THIS TO YOUR EAR AND YOU'LL BE ABLE TO HEAR MY MELODIOUS VOICE WHEN I NOTICE YOU'RE NOT PROGRESSING."
"Not that I'm against it, but isn't this cheating?"
He chuckles while bringing her close and clipping it to her right ear.
"DON'T THINK OF IT LIKE THAT. IT'S LIKE YOU SAID, YOU'RE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME AND WE BOTH DON'T WANT YOU DEAD. YOU'LL STILL BE GOING AT THIS ON YOUR OWN, BUT WITH A LITTLE LIFELINE THAT GIVES YOU CLUES AND NOT FULL ANSWERS. NOW DOES THAT SOUND MORE OKAY?"
"FANTASTIC!"
He spins around and shoves her to the ground before retracting his wheel to begin hovering.
"WELL, DARLING, THE NEXT WE MEET I HOPE IT TO BE SOON AND WHILE YOU STILL BREATHE."
"Um...Me too."
He takes off like a rocket to the next stage, kicking up dust and smoke in his wake.
"FAIR THEE WELL...!"
The cloud takes a bit to settle and the human finds herself alone. The path ahead is unknown but the only way to go. Somehow being behind the building she thinks she was held within and with no door to speak of insight. She silently prayed that her trust in the robot that abducted her was well placed...even though that thought made her question her ability to pick people to trust. Either way, her journey through game show hell begins now as she walks the lonely road that is way too narrow and high up for her liking.
[Snowdin: Skeleton House in present time]
Nothing. Nothing but re-run filler has been on the TV for hours. And all they could do was wait. Wait for any change on that damn picture box. Papyrus was doing his best to keep a worried Toriel and tense Grillby from burning the house down. Sans on the other hand was lost in his mind, retracing the history of his time in the LAB and its many rooms. Where were they hiding the human? What new rooms were added since he left? Could Alphys still be using the old underground facility?
*obnoxious fanfare*
The television cuts from its old showing to Mettaton live out in Hotland, on real clues can be seen as he hovers about the volcanic rock.
"SORRY FOR THE DELAY MY DEADLY GUYS AND DOLLS. SEEMS I WAS A BIT TOO ROUGH DURING OUR LAST GAME AND MY CO-STAR NEEDED EXTRA TIME TO RECOVER. GUESS I DON'T KNOW MY OWN STRENGTH."
His nonchalant attitude and words were far from comforting to the four.
"BUT FEAR NOT, AS SHE HAS MADE A FULL RECOVERY!"
A weight is lifted from the room.
"IN FACT, SHE'S ON THE START OF THE NEXT PHASE OF OUR SHOW. A DANGEROUS GAUNTLET OF OBSITCLES, DAUNTING PUZZLES, AND THE RANDOM VAGABOND THAT MAY OR MAY NOT JUST HAPPEN TO BE WANDERING AROUND."
The video feed shifts to the human on a conveyor belt. Merely scrolling along in a tacky outfit and makeup trying not to look down.
"The fuck is she wearing?!"
Grillby fumes. Toriel is equally unhappy about her daughter's new look. Sans rolls his eyes, finding it somewhat funny that Grillby is displeased by this when did way worse before.
"HER GOAL, REACH THE END TO BEGIN OUR NEXT SHOW SEGMENT. SHE WILL REPEAT THIS TWO MORE TIMES BEFORE ENDING WITH OUR FOURTH AND FINAL ENCOUNTER."
That doesn't sound good. The feed zooms in on her.
"WILL SHE SURVIVE AND EARN HER LIFE TO LIVE FOR ANOTHER DAY? OR WILL THIS BE THE DAY THE LAST SOUL IS COLLECTED? WE SHALL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH. IN THE MEANTIME, I NEED TO AQUIRE A FEW ODDS AND ENDS, SO I LEAVE YOU TO OUR DARLING'S DARING DO. ENJOY."
The camera switches to a different angle and continues to follow her. Before the words can even leave Papyrus's mouth Sans is already shaking his head.
"i still don't know where that is."
"ARE YOU SURE?"
"trust me, i don't recognize where she's at."
"Don't you have a post in Hotland?"
Grillby points out much to Papyrus's puzzlement.
"YOU HAVE A POST IN HOTLAND?"
Sans sighs.
"it's like i told ya, i do more than ya think i do. i have posts at the start of snowdin forest, waterfall's beginning, level two of hotland, and i am the one that waits in the judgment hall."
Papyrus is even more confused but Toriel starts to broil.
"You...You were the one all along, were you not?"
Sans balls his fists, bracing for this.
"You were the one that killed the humans that left the Ruins."
No Tori...not all...just one...over and over again.
"no. i haven't killed anyone."
That gave her some relief. But more questions.
"Then if not you, who does harm them?"
"asgore does."
And that killed it. Her eyes sink with a flame, one of hate and despair. It's painfully obvious. She's going to snap.
"ya should know he doesn't take pleasure in doin' it."
Her expression falters.
"it's a lot of weight on that old goat's shoulders. what with bein' a king and everyone expectin' him to solve all our problems, like breakin' the barrier. it's one thing to kill someone that's wronged ya. it's much harder to look an innocent in the eyes and end them."
She frowns, seeing some truth in his words.
"ya may hate his guts, but he's harborin' the biggest burden. bein' the one to harvest the souls."
"But..."
Does she still wish to fight?
"But the law states humans are to be killed on sight, right? You can not tell me the Guard has not spilled blood in all this time!"
"ACTUALLY..."
Papyrus chimes in.
"WHILE IT'S TRUE, THAT IS THE BLUNTEST FORM OF THE LAW, IT'S NOT THE EXACT WORDING. *AHEM* IF A LIVING HUMAN IS FOUND IN THE UNDERGROUND THAN THEY ARE TO BE ENGAGED AND CAPTURED. EXTREME CAUTION AND VIOLENCE IS TO BE USED IN THE APRENTION OF HUMAN SOULS. NOWHERE IS IT SAID WE ARE TO KILL ON SIGHT. BUT THE CURRENT CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD HAS INTERPRETED THIS LAW IN HER OWN WAY AND INFORCES IT AS SUCH...DEATH TO ALL HUMANS. NO EXCEPTIONS. OVERTIME, THAT'S HOW THE LAW EVOLVED TO BE KNOWN TO THE PUBLIC."
"Why?"
"captain undyne lost her family in the war. that kind of wound doesn't heal easily. it didn't help much that the hammer of punishment took her in as his own."
That name struck a chord.
"Gerson? I suppose that does make sense. He was ruthless in his prime. And he left our court when we choose to surrender. Said we were showing weakness by giving in. So many were already lost...We wanted to end the slaughter before the dust count became unrecognizable."
"seems that spite got passed on in undyne."
"OUR CAPTAIN GOES BY ANOTHER...THE SPEAR OF PUNISHMENT."
Her worry overcomes any animosity she held.
"I pray my child never encounters your Captain."
One can only hope.
"Shit..."
Grillby gets their attention.
"She's been spotted."
Eyes return to the television and the footage shown. The human had passed the large system of conveyor belts going forward and backward. Exhaust ports of vermilion flame burst from nearby pipes in the background, the wooshing sound of steam and cogs adding to the scenery. Reaching the end of the conveyor belts, the human comes into view of several small islands surrounded by boiling lava. Most of these islands hold steam vents. However, the human is unaware of this due to being blocked by a Tsunderplane.
[HOTLAND: LEVEL ONE]
Damn this heat. Damn this plan of yours, Mettaton. And damn this odd-looking monster that won't get out of my way. It appears to resemble a regular real-world modern airplane, an Airbus A340-300 to be exact, wearing a black mob cap with thin red ribbons on it, a faint blush tints its nosecone.
"Um...Do you mind?"
I move slightly to the side, trying to give it room while avoiding the edge. But it just moves the same as I do, almost like a mock mimic. Maybe it's just a fluke. I try it again. And again it does it.
"You're not gonna let me by, are you?"
My soul feels gripped and without skipping a beat, my blue soul comes out, a battle begins.
[Tsunderplane gets in the way! Not on purpose or anything.]
Wait...Don't tell me that name means what I think it does. What are my options?
[FIGHT]
[ACT]
[̴͝SP͜͞E͡L̵͜L͟͠͏]͘͢
[ITEM]
[MERCY]
That weird one came back? It looks so...messed up. I won't touch it. Maybe as a last resort, but not if I can help it. Let's see what this thing is made of.
[ACT selected.]
[New options available.]
[CHECK]
[FLIRT]
[APPROACH]
I am not doing those last two before I know what this thing can do.
[CHECK selected.]
[TSUNDERPLANE – HP: 80 ATK: 25 DEF: 26 – Seems mean, but does it secretly like you?]
"The fuck...?"
This plane catches an attitude.
"No way! Why would I like YOU?!"
Especially since we've only just met. Wait...
"You can talk?!"
It moves it's wings up, summing its attack. Several smaller planes fly horizontally straight from either side above me, dropping bombs that look like miniature nukes. Once a bomb hits the ground, a vertical line of toxic smoke appears and blocks my sight momentarily. All in all, this is not easy to avoid because of the lack of space and I end up taking a really nasty hit.
[HP ████████████████ 15/40]
I'm too afraid to check my wound. My ears are ringing and I feel damp somewhere on my side. I won't stand another hit like that. Damn it! I need my defense items!
*bang*
My head is smacked hard by metal.
[Tsunderplane "accidentally" bumps you with its wing.]
It pushed me back. It's keeping distance. Why it's not like it needs the room, damn thing can fly. I wonder...What'll happen if I get close? But first I need to heal.
[ITEM selected.]
I need to remember to thank Flowey when I see him again. If it wasn't for his prodding I'd have nothing in my inventory.
["Butterscotch Cheesecake" - All HP - Butterscotch cheesecake, one slice.]
"Mmmm...So good. Thanks, mama."
[You ate the Butterscotch Cheesecake. Your HP was maxed out.]
[HP ██████████████████████████████████████████ 40/40]
Ah, much better. Now I just need to avoid getting hit again. My turn ends.
"Hmph! Id... Idiot! Don't get in my way!"
You blocked me, asshat.
She uses a different attack but one that's somewhat easier to deal with. Large planes fly directly at me, leaving a horizontal-moving toxic trail of smoke balls. I am grateful this was it's second go. I dodge this one better, no damage taken.
[Tsunderplane shakes its nose dismissively at you.]
"_... Human..."
Now it speaks in emojis? I mean, I guess that's a thing that can happen, Gaster speaks in hands and junk.
"Something wrong? I can't help but notice."
Going off its behavior and name, I put some real emphasis on the word notice. It flinches. Got you.
Tsundere is a Japanese term for a character development process that depicts a person who is initially cold and sometimes even hostile before gradually showing a warmer, friendlier side over time. The word is derived from the terms tsun tsun ('to turn away in disgust or anger') and dere dere ('to become affectionate'). They're the opposite of a Yandere. Yandere is a Japanese term for a person who is initially very loving and gentle to someone or at least innocent before their devotion becomes destructive in nature, often through violence and/or brutality. The term is derived from the words yanderu (a mental or emotional illness) and dere dere. They are different and yet have one weakness...Wanting the attention of Senpai, the person they have a fondness for. Why do I know all this? Because I'm a big freaking dork! I can use this. I just don't understand why it would have such feelings.
"...H-human ... ...?"
Now to test my theory.
[APPROACH selected.]
[You get close to Tsunderplane. But not too close.]
"Eeeeh? H-human ...?"
It's getting flustered. I'm not proud of this method but if it works to keep me alive, so be it.
"You don't mind me getting close, right?"
[Tsunderplane looks over, then turns up its nose.]
"Huh!? Y-you sicko!"
It spins on heels it doesn't have and nearly takes my head. This ain't going to be easy.
The mini planes return but something's off. Six planes attacked me before, but now there's only three. Easier than before yet still dangerous. That smoke is noxious and obnoxious.
[Tsunderplane gives you a condescending barrel roll.]
"Don't think I'm going easy on you! It's not like I LIKE you."
Your actions say otherwise, so does that growing blush. Time for phase two.
[FLIRT selected.]
[You tell Tsunderplane it has an impressive wingspan.]
"I must say, birds wish they could have wings like that. Very cool."
It covers its nosecone in its wingtips.
"Ah...is that true...?"
"Why would I lie?"
I think this is working. It summons the large planes again but this time the planes are surrounded by narrow green auras and the smoke trails aren't moving. Curiosity has me touching the green and finding it does two things. One, it doesn't hurt me. And two, it's blushing more excitedly. After touching four Tsunderplane is practically glowing, or it could be the headlights. And when that last sixth plane passes Tsunderplane looks away shyly and starts to give off the smell of an airport perfume counter. Maybe just one more to seal the deal.
[FLIRT selected.]
[You tell Tsunderplane it has cute winglets.]
"Awww...Those wingtip fences are so cute! Then again, on such an adorable aircraft, that's to be expected."
It loses its mind. Jetting high up and aileron rolls three times before zipping off into the distance.
[YOU WON!]

Damn! That's some gold! Much needed due to spending all my gold in Waterfall so long ago.
"Not my worse fight but one of the more interesting ones. Till we meet again, Tsunderplane-chan."
I wave to where I saw Tsunderplane fly off and return to my journey. However, this is short-lived once again, but not by a monster. I think this is one of the obstacles Mettaton told me about. The land is broken. Vents shoot out big gusts of steam. I think he intends for me to use these to traverse the area since there are painted red arrows on the one in front of me and the one across from it. The flaw in this plan of his is this...In trying to have seen any of this, I ended up looking down.
Sweat begins to slide down my brow, but not from the heat. My wide eyes can't look away from the high as hell drop to lava that I'm meant to cross. My body starts to tremble. My breathing harsh. I'm going into a panic.
[Snowdin: Skeleton House in present time]
That was a stressful fight to watch. The massive damage the human took at the start made it clear she had been stripped of her armor, adding harsher levels of difficulty to an already challenging task. But they know her well by this point. She's clever. She's adaptable. She's stubborn as hell. And she knows they're likely watching.

Toriel's motherly heart was swelling. This one. This was the one she believed could survive in this hell. And her non-violent victory against the Tsunderplane made it more clear that her daughter wasn't so much the child she believed her to be.
"Yeah! Way to go, pussycat!"
Grillby is at least in better spirits. He nearly torched the couch when he thought of Mettaton stripping her of her armor.
"SHE'S NOT MOVING."
True. The human had won the fight but was now frozen in place by the vents, fear dripped from her face.
"uh oh."
This got attention.
"What is wrong? Why does she not continue?"
"pap and me found this out about her when she first came out of the ruins. she's afraid of heights. and if she doesn't move soon, she'll pass out under the pressure."
"But...It's not like she can just leave. And if she falls..."
No one wanted to finish that thought.
"THE HELL...?"
Something new appears and has their attention.
"Flowey?"
[HOTLAND: LAB]
Undyne had been watching the many screens Alphys controls as part of Mettaton's live feed broadcast. Nothing had been particularly interesting, not even that bogus fight with the Tsunderplane. But then...
"The fuck...? Alphys, you seeing this?"
Of course, the lizard was scribbling like a madman on her notepad. This was something new.
"Huh...Show me what ya got, human."
The fish woman resumes watching with a hearty slurp of noddles.
[HOTLAND: LEVEL ONE]
It's happening again. My legs turn to jelly and I drop to my knees. I can't do this. I can't move. What if I fall? I don't want to burn to death. I heard it's not quick either like how movies portray it. The pain overload is what kills you. I don't want that. I ̕ca͢n̛'́t ͢de̶al͏! Í ̸c̷̨a̴n'͡t!͘
*STATIC* HELLO? DARLING? CAN YOU HEAR ME?
The earpiece Mettaton gave me goes off. But something's interfering.
*STATIC* YOU NEED TO GET GOING, DEAR. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE STEAM. IT WON'T BURN. THOUGH YOU MIGHT GET A BIT TENDER IF YOU PLAY IN THEM TOO LONG.
T̷̵h̷́at̵̨'̧͞s̵̸͞ ́̀not ̷̕͜h́el̴͘̕p̛i̸͜ng͟!̢͟
I feel it starting. The blood dripping from my nose. Why? Why am I so weak?!
*STATIC* DARLING? COME ON. YOU NEED TO MOVE. WE HAD A DEAL.
F̴̶͢u͘͞c̶͞k͏ ͟͏̴ý̢ou ̸́a̶̕͜n҉͞d҉̛ ̶̀y͢o̡u̸͠r̸ ̧́͝d͞e̢͜ą̕l͢͝! ̨̛I͝͞͝'̶m̢҉ n̡o̡͜͝t̴ ̵҉̛m̀͏o͘͝v̴́͠i͏̀n͟͡ǵ͜!̴
Strange energy begins to crackle around me. I don't know what it is and it's freaking me out more!
"There you are..."
Life returns to me upon hearing Flowey's voice.
"You just always seem to...The hell is up with your face?!"
"B̢͢͞ŗ̡̀o̸t̡h̡͟e̵̛r͘̕͞?"
The strange energy slowly dissipates, Flowey being here is calming me down, though the sight still unnerves him.
"Easy now. Just calm down. You don't want to overtax your soul."
"S̨-̀Sơr͡ry̷.̛.͞.I.̶..͢*shaky inhale*I looked down."
Flowey moves over to me and pats my leg with a tiny vine.
"Don't worry, your big brother's here for you."
I give him a nervous smile and wipe my nose.
"So...What's wrong with my face?"
"Uh...Nothing. You look fine."
I look at him flatly.
"I have makeup on, don't I?"
"Well..."
God dang it, Mettaton.
"Fudge it. As long as I'm not dolled up like a clown, ignore it. Right now I need help."
"Fine with me, but first...I want an apology for that stunt at the bar."
I nod.
"I'm sorry. It was a dirty move. But..."
He pouts.
"You wanted to talk to him without me butting in."
I claw the ground.
"...There are things I still can't tell you."
"When? When can you open up to me?"
"Soon. Lots of stuff I know is in pieces. I just need to figure out how it all fits to understand."
"Like what?"
"Well for starters...Getting through this crap."
Flowey looks out at the vents.
"You really can't do this?"
"No. My acrophobia, paranoia, vertigo, and lack of self-confidence prevents it."
"Sheesh. At least your honest."
I sit on my heels and slap my face a few times, trying to psych myself out.
"The body and mind both have their own ways of keeping themselves safe. Even if one of them is tricking the other. My body won't move if my brain keeps telling it no because it feels in danger."
"Hmmm...And I take it you're not up for that blindfold idea again."
I look at him confused.
"Over lava?!"
He sighs.
"Yeah, fair enough."
This sucks.
"Oh! I got an idea. What if I carry you over?"
Flower-goat-boy say what?
"Not to put you down, bro, but I ain't exactly light and I don't want you to hurt yourself trying."
He winks.
"Trust me. I'm stronger than you think."
I don't doubt you, I'm more worried I'll freak out if he does. But what choice do I have? Sit her forever or move forward.
"Okay. But not yet."
"Huh?"
I feel the ground again.
"This is rock and yet you're moving through it..."
"Yeah?"
"Can you scout ahead through this vent thing? Tell me if other monsters or crap is hiding?"
He nods.
"Can do."
He sinks into the ground. Here's hoping he stays out of sight of any hostiles. A few times I see his petal head pop up from time to time, but in areas I can't see I get a bit shook. Especially when he's out of sight for too long. I count the seconds between each puff of steam, giving up because it's too fast. A small rumble off to my side, part of Flowey's stem is protruding but seems to be having trouble coming out. With some wiggling and what looks like some tugging, he emerges yet only partly.
"*strain* H-Hey...I found something you can use."
I'm curious. I help chip some ground away and something metal appears. Looping my finger through a hole, I help him pull this mystery thing out and wow it puts up quite the struggle. With a final double pull from the both of us, the object reveals itself...a frying pan?
"The hell...?"
"I found it at one of the areas off over there. It once belonged to a human that fell a long time ago."
All this mismatch stuff. What were the humans that fell before even doing to fall with such stuff? Whatever, an item gained is better than no items at all.
[You equipped the Nasty Pan.]
[You gain 10 Attack.]
[You don't know if it's covered in old food or gore. Either way, the damage is rather consistent. Consumables items will heal 4 more HP.]
"Damn. Was really hoping for some defense boost."
"Sorry. How uneven does this make your stats now?"
"See for yourself."
He's confused till he CHECKs me.
[Lynsie - LV:1 - HP: 40 ATK: 30 DEF: 11 - Too nice for her own good.]
"What the...? What happened?!"
I stand and stretch.
"I got mugged."
He frowns.
"The robot?"
I answer with a nod and change the line of chatter to current events.
"Was there anyone out there?"
He shakes his head.
"At least that's some good news. So how do we do this?"
He moves back, over to where the path sort-of splits.
"This way."
With no other moves, I follow him to a spot where a vent is missing and he points to the land across it.
"Over there is the exit. If you can not freak out, I should be able to take you over there."
My spine shivers.
"Are you certain you can lift me over? That's at least a ten-foot gap, give or take."
"Trust me. I know what I'm capable of."
I swallow what little courage I have and shut my eyes tight.
"Please, make it quick."
"Don't worry, I got you."
There's silence for a bit. Then something slithers under then over my shoulders and slinks to wrap around my waist. I want to look but when my feet leave the ground my entire body clenches.
"Easy now. No sudden moves."
That doesn't help.
I do my best to block out everything. Like the feel of wind brushing past and intense heat that wafts up from below. My nerves are threatening to go off again. The instant I can feel a foot touch anything solid my eyes shoot open.
"See? Told you I could do it."
He's already on this side with me. Probably moved here first then reached over and carried my dumb frightened ass over. Bless you, super flower-goat-boy! The vines release and I'm once more on terra firma. I use this moment to hug Flowey.
"Thank you!"
He chuckles and now it's two going through Mettaton's show. If only I didn't leave my bag at home. Then he'd be riding with me. Then again, Mettaton would've taken that too and really screwed me over.
FINALLY. AS TOUCHING AS THAT WAS, DARLING, YOU NEED TO GET MOVING. WE'RE ALREADY BEHIND SCHEDULE AS IT IS.
I pop my neck and nod. The sooner I get through this the sooner it ends and we can go home.
"You okay with following me in case of other bull?"
"Oh yeah. You're going to need me. There are more vents past this.
I groan and silently curse everything before walking. Upon entering the north path past the steam vents, we come across another path made of pipework that veers to the right. This would be super chill if it weren't for the freaking lasers!
"This shouldn't be a big deal."
I look down at Flowey funny.
"Dude...Do you not see the lasers?"
He shakes his head.
"Don't think of them like you think they are. Those are made with magic energy. You remember what I told you about orange and light blue magic, don't you?"
It takes a second for that to click in my head. My small smirk lets him know I'm not completely stupid.
"See you on the other side."
He retreats to the ground and has to move through that, not like he can go through metal shit. So I take on this obstacle. There are nine lasers in total that go the order of orange, orange, cyan, orange, cyan, orange, cyan, cyan, and orange, with the cyan ones moving around. So by the logic of magic properties, I move through the orange ones and pause for the cyan ones till it's safe to keep going. In no time I'm at the end, a large metal pillar has a big red switch and out of spite I flip it. This effectively turns the laser off. Sweet! That was easy. Onward I go. The path veers upward and, can you guess, has more of those damn vents. A base one that changes directions, a one on the left and right side as well as in front. The path wants me to go forward but is blocked by a locked door. No doubt each side has a puzzle that opens each lock. Gotta love real-life video game logic.
"Not so bad, right?"
Speaks the emerging flora to my right.
"Still in one piece."
I joke to myself to keep the dumb side of me from saying something to jinx me.
"Need another lift?"
Looking at the gap between vents, it's not so evil as the first ones, maybe about four or five feet.
"I think I can manage this one."
He's relieved, thinking I'm being a big girl and fighting my fear.
"Great! I knew you could...wait...What are you...?!"
Don't think. Just act. Fear can't affect you if you don't realize it's there.
I take a short sprint and make nice bound over to where he's at. He's rather confused.
"The hell? What about your phobia?"
"Easy...Didn't think about it."
I head for the puzzle and he's flabbergasted.
"Wha...but...You still could've used the vents!"
"Nope!"
He catches up to me as I get distracted looking at two monsters sitting at the cliff's edge.
"You scare me something."
"How do you think I feel? I scare myself and I'm the one doing it."
There's a room nearby but these two just pull my attention. There's what appears to be a pale-green dragon in a black business suit and slick shade, like some sort of scaly lawyer. A black wisp-like monsters that reminds me of Grillby, even sporting glasses, in a gray tank-top and red pants drinking something steaming hot, dude looks chill in this heat. They don't seem to notice us and I can hardly hear bits of their chit chat. Something about how they're glad that the reactivated puzzles are preventing them from progressing as they do not want to go to work. They are also muttering some other stuff but I head for the room before they see this random human.
Inside the puzzle room, I'm met by two things. The puzzle itself and a disembodied fox head wearing sunglasses. The fuck am I tripping on?!
"The door leading through the area is closed?"
Dear God, it bounces as it talks and speaks with an upward inflection like valley speak! It hurts my brain. Good news, it has no clue what I am. Yay!
"So I tried the puzzle? But I kept running out of ammo, and it kept restarting?"
"...Bummer."
"And my two co-workers won't help? It's like they don't even wanna go to work?"
"Harsh."
"Why don't you try? Try using the console?"
I shrug and give this thing a little checking out. No real help from the fox so maybe the puzzle will tell me what to do. Oh, look! The convenient "?" icon is super tiny and hidden in the corner while also being somewhat the same color as the background. That's not a dick move, oh no, not in the slightest.
(Shoot the opposing ship!)
(Move the boxes to complete your mission.)
Okay, that's useful. Let's see...Four immovable blocks, two movable ones, and two open spaces. The immovable blocks are in each corner and the movable ones are in my way. And to top it all off, I get only two shots. Scoot the two away, shoot, and puzzle solved.
(CONGRATULATIONS!)
That's one done, another to go.
"Wow? You solved it? I'm impressed? You must be a total nerd?"
...Jackass.
Leaving the room has Flowey grabbing my wrist with a vine and tugging me to get moving.
"Bro, chill, what's wrong?"
"I heard them talking. They've been watching Mettaton's broadcast on their phones."
Yeah, that's our cue to skedaddle.
"Please use the vents this time."
I speed past him much to his chagrin.
"Screw...the...rules!"
I shout with each leap taken. I know deep down he wants to call me dumb and yet I'm kinda proud I'm able to forget about the incredibly high path we're treading that drops into freaking lava. He rejoins me as a non-moving cyan laser seemingly impedes my progress. However, it's waist level in height and nothing is stopping me from crawling underneath it.
"Wow."
"I know, right?"
Like on the right side, the left has the puzzle room and two monsters just hanging out on the cliff. These two monster girls are wearing what look like red and black Japanese school uniforms. The fuck? Not sure what's weirder, everyone's bravery by being that close to death or how the hell they got those clothes. Either way, one girl is purple with possible tentacle hair and has red eyes with black sclera, she is so clearly a tom-boy with her red back facing cap and skateboard. While the other girl is made up of lime green flame and gives off this way too innocent vibe for being here and with the bad-girl. Hotland does seem more and more to be Grillby's former home. How many more fire elementals live here?
"You think the laser has them stuck here?"
"Maybe. I know I wouldn't crawl on the floor with a skirt like that."
I enter the room and thankfully there's no head laying around that speaks in headache-inducing jabber. Let's see...Are the rules the same?
(Shoot the opposing ship!)
(Move the boxes to complete your mission.)
Yep. Same rules but different layout. Five immovable blocks, six movable ones, and five open spaces. The three immovable ones are in corners, one is above a corner, and the last is touching the corner of a corner block. And once more I get two shots. The movable blocks from a backward jacked letter C. This one is a bit more complex. The majority of the blocks move in one push. I have to try this a few times before I'm able to have it clear enough to shoot through one block and then the target.
(CONGRATULATIONS!)
If my calculations are correct, the door should be open now and further progress can be made. I leave the room and notice the laser is off. Flowey is also nowhere to be seen, probably due to the girls having moved from their original spot.
"Finally! Someone turned off that laser!"
Don't thank me, I'm just awesome.
"Now that we're free we can... Well, uh, I guess we'll just keep standing here."
"Hm? Nice try, but your loitering technique still needs work."
They chat with themselves. Great time to be invisible.
"Loitering around... What's the point?"
"Beats being in school. Why should we bother going to school, anyway...? What's the point in learning how to make a buncha puzzles? There's GOTTA be a way to cancel school."
"But isn't it summer vacation?"
"...Auuuugh! This world's got no future!"
A bit overly dramatic. Whatever. Back to business. I rush to make my final leap and almost trip on the pipework floor. Yeah...Not gonna be doing this jump thing anymore. Lost my nerve for it. Motion activates the door and it slides opens into the rock.
"Okay, Metta...Here I come."
Going through the door leads me to a small bit of land that turns to the right and three widely spaced vents in a row to reach the next...Is that kitchen linoleum? I can't be seeing that right.
"Seems like you have no choice this time."
Flowey appears.
"Can't at least hurl me across?"
He shakes his head.
"I can't support carrying you that far and I'm not risking you falling to death."
"Yeah, my luck as of late would be that level of crap."
I smack myself a few times to ready my timid nerves.
"Any words of wisdom before I do this?"
He thinks for a moment.
"Beware of chainsaws."
"What?!"
He sinks into the ground and I internally scream...Fuck my life!
Stepping onto the vent blocks the steam for a bit. The building pressure launches me from one vent to the next. By the time I reach solid ground I'm about ready to vomit my still-beating heart out.
"I hate heights!"
I'm gonna punch him. I swear, even if it breaks my hands, I will beat the shit out of Mettaton for this.
Still shaken I crawl my way into the next area. It's very weird. As if the linoleum wasn't odd, I'm now in what looks like a kitchen set. Oh...Oh god no...This can't mean...
"Don't tell me this is what I think it is."
As if on cue, low and behold, my metal master of moronic mayhem hovers down from the heavens wearing a chef's hat.
"OHHHH YES! WELCOME, DASTARDLIES, TO THE UNDERGROUND'S PREMIER COOKING SHOW!"
(Cooking with a Killer Robot)
"PRE-HEAT YOUR OVENS, BECAUSE WE'VE GOT A VERY SPECIAL RECIPE FOR YOU TODAY! WE'RE GOING TO BE MAKING...A CAKE! DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE TO BE EXACT."
Two of his hands stretch out and grab me, despite my pointless clawing at the floor, to present me to cameras I can't see.
"MY LOVELY ASSISTANT HERE WILL GATHER THE INGREDIENTS. EVERYONE GIVE THEM A BIG HAND!"
An applause sound effect goes off as well as confetti falls. I glare at myself.
"*mutter* You better have my stuff as promised or I will purposefully make sure your ratings bomb."
He pulls me in so only I hear him.
"*WHISPER* DO THAT AND YOU CAN KISS YOUR ITEMS GOODBYE."
I snort a huff and try to put on a smile. This seems to be what he wants.
"WE'LL NEED SUGAR, MILK, FLOUR, CHOCOLATE, AND EGGS. GO FOR IT, SWEETHEART!"
He's being overly flashy and fantastic. I should play along...but I'm too pissy and bitter. Plus calling me sweetheart irks me. You want a nice human? I'll be so sweet your blood sugar will spike!
"*giggles* Golly-gee. Thanks for having me on your show, Mr. Mettaton. Let's make the bestest best cake ever!"
This is stooping to new levels of pettiness that I might want to find a therapist for later. I'm pushing for a nearly unbelievable level of childish innocence as I scope the set and gather ingredients. All the while he watches every little skip and mean-spirited twirl I make before bring it all back to him a dopey smile.
"All done, Mr. Mettaton. This is going to be the most choco-lickity-yummiest cake in the universe!"
He puts two of his hands together and one on my head before sighing.
"DARLING...I LOVE WHAT YOU'RE DOING, I REALLY DO. BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THE AUDIENCE, COULD YOU LOWER THE CUTE DOWN A BIT?"
I give the puppy dog eyes.
"Am I in trouble? Did I do something wrong?"
He flinches and without thinking he slams my head into the counter. I roar and cover my face, trying not to burst into a hurricane of swears while he goes about the show.
"PERFECT! GREAT JOB, BEAUTIFUL! WE'VE GOT ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS WE NEED TO BAKE THE CAKE! MILK... SUGAR... FLOUR... CHOCOLATE... EGGS..."
He gasps suddenly while I check if my nose is broken. Good news, it's not.
"OH MY! WAIT A MAGNIFICENT MOMENT! HOW COULD I FORGET! WE'RE MISSING THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT!"
I wipe a small bit of blood off my forehead.
"And what ingredient is that? This was everything you told me to get."
Some of my attitude is coming out but not too much.
"WHY, IT'S NOTHING WE HAVE TO GO SEARCHING FOR. YOU BROUGHT IT HERE WITH YOU."
I look at him funny until I see him pulling two chainsaws out from under the counter.
"A HUMAN SOUL!"
My heart sinks as he revs them up. Yet when he begins to do a slow methodical approach...My brain remembers to do one of my many pointless talents. Poking holes things with needless but true knowledge.
"Objection!"
The nerd in me is giddy for being able to make him pause with that.
"YES?"
I slap the counter.
"This recipe is bogus. What kind of cake calls for an ingredient that is so rare and priceless as a human soul? I submit my dumb argument, because I'm willing to admit the idiocy of saying this, that a human soul would serve a far greater purpose than being used for baked goods. Such as breaking the barrier. What say you, Metta? Do you have anything to back up your reasoning to use my soul in this cake?"
I wonder if Napsablook has an emulator on his PC? I want to play Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney now.
His screen blinks a little in thought. Before one of his arms leaves the murder weapon to go somewhere off set and return to put a can on the counter.
"...What is that?"
"THAT, MY DEAR, IS MTT-BRAND ALWAYS-CONVENIENT HUMAN-SOUL-FLAVOR-SUBSTITUTE! AVAILABLE AT ANY OF MY FINE RETAIL MARKETS! PROOF THAT THIS IS SOMETHING RATHER COMMON DOWN HERE AND THEREFORE, NOT A COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE IDEA AS TO WHY USE OF YOUR SOUL WOULD BE IN COOKING."
I stare dumbfounded at this can.
"This...This thing holds stuff that tastes like a human soul?"
He turns one chainsaw off and leans on it like a villain does with a cane.
"IT IS WHAT IT IS, DARLING. THE LABEL DOESN'T LIE. I SELL ONLY THE BEST. AND I GUARANTEE, IF YOU TRY IT, YOU'D NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE."
My mouth opens but nothing comes out. I put my hands together, hold them to my face, and ponder the meaning of life."
"Metta, my dude...This is some messed up stuff right here."
"HOW SO?"
I sigh through my nose and lose my ability to be subtle.
"You do know that souls can be used as sexual organs, right?"
He slips from his cool pose in shock.
"DARLING! CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY! THIS IS LIVE AND KIDS MIGHT BE WATCHING."
"Do not change the subject by insinuating children don't have the ability to understand. Kids are always learning and they find things out quicker than others give credit. Such as their body's and, because it's a monster's core, soul. You can not expect me to believe that knowledge of that caliber is unknown."
I grab the can harshly.
"Knowing that, the fact this can exists and as you claim is indistinguishable from the real deal, it insinuates that you or someone else on your staff knows what a human soul tastes like. Meaning...Someone has had oral sex with a human soul."
He falls over at my accusations. Chainsaws long forgotten. But I'm not done.
"Further more, this can opens a can of worms in its implications. Forgive my armature knowledge on the subject, but in the old myths above, there is no mention of monsters feeding on human souls. Such things usually are connected to demons. So this concept is either new to the Underground or you're making it up purely for this show!"
My head is swimming with weird thoughts and I'm unable to keep them to myself.
"Fearing that the humans would one day turn on monster kind and slaughter their people, absorb their few boss souls and become dominant over them, the monsters decided to launch a preemptive strike. That's what the old text said, but...If this feeding on souls it true..."
I glare at the can, not liking the thoughts it's making me get.
"Then humans had a reason to seal you away."
Those words are bitter and I spit them getting angry, squeezing the can with force.
"Tell me I'm wrong."
It crunches, metal splitting to cut into my hand before furiously throwing it at the fake window behind us.
"Tell me I'm wrong! Don't make me feel bad for humanity!"
I'm physically shaking. My rage tapering on the verge. It's not even towards anyone. How can it? What's in the past is there forever. But this...Don't tell me this is real and in the present.
"Please..."
I lick my hand, trying to focus on the sting and hint of copper to calm me down. Finally able to recover, Mettaton dusts himself off. Taking note of my behavior and picking his words carefully.
"WOW, DARLING. SUCH RAW EMOTION. THE PASSION. FEAR. ANGER. AND DESPERATION. IT'S PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!"
A low snarl from me reminds him that I'm in no mood for his fabulous side.
"BUT TO ANSWER YOUR RATHER INTERESTING QUERY...NO. IT'S NOT TRUE."
A small sensation of relief begins to hit me as he opens a compartment under his screen and pulls out a small advertisement poster.
"I FIGURED THIS IDEA WOULD WORK MAINLY BECAUSE..."
He lightly touches my face.
"YOU'RE SWEETER THAN ANY DESERT~."
With the whole 'about to kill me' and fucked up line of thought thing that happened seconds ago, his little flirt has no effect and I slap his hand away. He's taken by this yet keeps his composer.
"BUT I SEE NOW THAT WAS FOOLISH. USING YOU IN A SIMPLE COOKING SHOW WAS A MASSIVE UNDERESTIMATION. ESPECIALLY TO PROMOTE MY NEWEST PRODUCT."
He crumbs the add and tosses it away.
"BUT AFTER THAT SCENE, I CAN KISS THOSE SALES GOODBYE. IT WAS WORTH A SHOT THOUGH. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT WORKS WITHOUT TAKING RISKS."
I am so done with all of this it ain't even funny.
"YET THIS WASN'T A TOTAL LOST. I LEARNED YOU HAVE A REAL TALENT."
I eye him cautiously, getting the bleeding to at last stop.
"CLEARLY A COURTROOM DRAMA IS PERFECT FOR YOU!"
I hate my luck.
"I NEED TO MAKE SOME CALLS! GET A SET MADE! OOOOOH! THE SCANDALOUS SCRIPT IDEAS I HAVE!"
"I think you're jumping the gun a bit early on this."
He puts a finger to my lips.
"NOT NOW, DARLING, I'M WORKING."
I gesture to where I assume a camera is that he's nuts.
[RING-RING]
His phone goes off.
"THIS BETTER BE IMPORTANT! I'M ON AIR RIGHT NOW!"
Damn it. I can't hear the caller.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE WON'T MOVE?! YOU TELL HER..."
He's cut off.
"W-WHAT?! HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE LEFT? ...JUST YOU?! DAMN IT, BUGERPANTS, SO HELP ME IF THIS IS A PLOY TO GET OUT OF YOUR SHIFT..."
While he's distracted, I use this time to move the chainsaws away and out of sight. No need for them to come back into play.
"WAIT...SAY THAT LAST PART AGAIN. ARE YOU CERTAIN IT'S HIS POST?"
Post? What post? Who's post?
"*HUFF* FINE. RETURN TO YOUR POST. I'LL DEAL WITH THIS MYSELF."
He hangs up and is not too happy.
"*MUMBLE* DAMN SPIDER AND HER STUPID PET, KILLS MY MINIONS AND STILL DENIES MY BUSINESS DEALS!"
"You okay?"
My voice snaps him out of his thoughts and he calms down.
"UM...A CHANGE IN PLANS HAS COME UP. YES! DUE TO SOME SET ISSUES AND TIME CONSTRAINTS, OUR SHOW RUNS ON A STRICT SCHEDULE YOU KNOW, I'M GOING TO PERSONALLY DROP YOU OFF AT THE NEXT LEG OF THE GAUNTLET."
Well, that sounds like a load of bullshit. But my dumb brain has to dumb brain.
"So what you're telling me is we're not even going to finish this segment by making the damn cake?"
He pulls me into an uncomfortable side embrace.
"I KNOW, IT'S HEARTBREAKING. BUT YOU SHOULD'VE MOVED FASTER AT THE START OF ALL THIS."
"I have a fear of heights!"
"NOW WE'LL JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH NOT KNOWING HOW GOOD THE CAKE COULD'VE BEEN."
"Don't ignore me."
"OR HOW MUCH MORE DELICIOUS IT COULD BE IF EATEN OFF MY BODY."
"The fuck did you say?!"
"BUT COME ON, DARLING, I'M ONLY MESSING WITH YOU AND OUR MALICIOUS VIEWERS. HAVEN'T YOU EVER SEEN A COOKING SHOW BEFORE? I ALREADY BAKED THE CAKE AHEAD OF TIME! SO FORGET IT! BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY OF IT!"
"Is the screaming in my ear necessary?"
"WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT! RIGHT ABOUT NOW IS WHEN WE HAVE OUR COMMERCIAL BREAK! SO STAY TUNED TO THAT SCREEN AND CONTINUE WATCHING AS OUR DEAR DARLING DARES TO DART FORTH INTO DANGER ONCE MORE!"
"Can you at least tell me I don't have to do any more vent platforming?"
"SORRY, BUT I'D BE LYING IF I DID."
I start trying to swear but I end up roaring out in meek frustration.
"SEE YOU ALL AGAIN REAL SOON."
A few seconds go by and he lets me go.
"OKAY, WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME..."
He moves to the sink and opens the cabinets under it.
"WE HAD A DEAL. DESPITE THAT LITTLE SHOW YOU PUT ON, I AM IF ANYTHING A MONSTER OF MY WORD."
He tosses me a bag with his face on it. Taking the hint, I open it and find my missing gear. Though...no phone. I take this small victory without a fight. I'm fairly certain I know who has it anyway. That cat is so getting skinned. I equip my items and CHECK my stats.
[ HP: 40 ATK: 45 DEF: 27]
"Someday, I swear my defense will be decent, damn it!"
"ALL SET?"
I may look ridiculous with all this all but it's not like I was a supermodel before.
"Yeah, I'm good. Thank you."
"UM..."
"What?"
"I WANT TO APOLOGIZE."
I scoff.
"Forget it."
"NO. I...WHAT I DID WAS STUPID. I SKIMMED OVER THINGS AND WASN'T EXPECTING HOW YOU'D REACT. A GOOD SHOWMAN IS MORE PREPARED AND KNOWS HIS CAST BETTER. FOR THAT...I'M SORRY"
No matter the mood I might be in, I know how hard it is to swallow one's pride and admit a wrong. I just wish he wasn't such a flip-flopper because this personality switching is making it difficult to trust him fully.
"*sigh* ...I forgive you. But don't ever pull that kind of crap again. Got it? I like you monsters. I like being here. I don't want to feel bad for my kind and see THIS punishment as justified."
He nods, or what I take as the equivalent to one for a guy without a neck. With that now all said and done he once again snatches me into his arms and he blasts off like a rocket. Where to? No damn clue.
[HOTLAND: LAB]
"Well, that was disappointing. Freaky, but disappointing."
Undyne collects another bowel to enjoy.
"Not his best move. That's for sure. All that controversial fuss."
Alphys had cut the feed but was still viewing the robot and human.
"Yeah. He didn't even use those chainsaws. Such a wasted opportunity."
"Still, the way she interpreted all that from a simple can of spice...And that reaction..."
Theories were coming to Alphys.
"Definitely something to remember for future use."
Undyne takes a long slurp of ramen.
"It's a freak, Alphys. Plain and simple."
Alphys's companion's lack of imagination made her sneer.
"At least he's prolonging her activity. That provides data. And that's all that matters."
Undyne rolls her eye.
"Still...I wonder what that phone call was about?"
Alphys, being the one that sees all, knows the answer to that question. She just finds it more interesting to see if her hot fish friend can figure it out for herself. Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.
[Snowdin: Skeleton House in present time]
They weren't sure what they just watched. Such a strange buildup and quickly smothered show. Sure this wasn't over but no one honestly thought that second showing was going to be over in about twelve minutes. Still...The lingering questions remained when the commercials played.
"This is nerve-wracking."
"I know. But at least there's some good news. He's moving her further. She'll be done faster."
"I suppose that is true."
"OR SHE'LL BE KILLED QUICKER."
Toriel and Grillby glare at Papyrus.
"WHAT? I'M BEING REALISTIC BY SAYING THE OPTION YOU'RE IGNORING."
The glares and fire strengthen.
Papyrus takes the hint and walks away. Maybe Sans had some sort of idea and won't want to beat the shit out of him as the others do.
"you need to work on your people skills, bro."
He growls but that's it.
"i got an idea as to what happened near the end."
"REALLY?"
"yeah. i think someone tipped him off about my post there."
"YOU SURE?"
"got no other clue as to why he'd move her himself and not let her walk."
"HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK HE'LL HAVE HER SKIP?"
"who's to say? i only know what i can see from my post. and it ain't much."
"WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY POSTS?"
"do ya know anybody else that can teleport?"
"...GOOD POINT."
"you sound underwhelmed."
"I DON'T KNOW...I JUST DON'T SEE IT. YOU WORKING THAT MUCH? IT'S WEIRD."
"if it makes it less weird, i sell hot dogs at those stations."
"THAT...THAT MAKES MORE SENSE."
The television flickers suddenly. The commercials end and the human is back onscreen. Her exact location is odd in that there doesn't seem to be a path to leave on. There's a signpost they can't read and random cacti. Among the positives, she is sporting her equipables again and thus have her stats boosted. On the negative side...she isn't there alone for very long.

The Petals Keep Falling
Note: Hey look, I’m writing more angst! Yay! You can all thank me later. Anyway, onto the fic!
Handplates belongs to: @zarla-s
Requested by: @randomstuff7739
Summary: One-sided love is hard enough. It’s even harder when your life is on the line because of it. After the two get into a heated argument, Sam feels foolish for thinking Gaster ever loved them, yet their feelings are as strong as ever. Meanwhile, Gaster doubts Sam could ever forgive him after the things he’s said. Is there a way to save these two seemingly hopeless lovers?
Sam tightly gripped the book they were holding as they struggled to read the jumbled-up words. Tears were threatening to spill out of their eyes so Sam had to quickly wipe them away before anyone could see. The Human was currently with the brothers in their room. They would’ve gone to Gaster’s room to cry it out, but the Human didn’t want to risk bumping into him. Sam honestly wanted to laugh at themselves for how stupid they were being all those past months. But yet...the Human still yearned for Gaster to pull them into a stiff yet warm embrace.
It was really all their fault though, right? Sam had provoked that response out of him. That last week’s events would forever be burned into their memory:
Sam had been walking through Snowdin one clear afternoon, mostly just getting fresh air, when they suddenly spotted Gaster walking with a couple of monsters. Sam didn’t recognize any of them though, so those monsters must’ve been from somewhere else in the Underground. Probably Hotland. That didn’t matter to the Human at the moment as they rushed over to group. They were just excited to see their soulmate home from work. The skeleton didn’t notice the energetic human until they almost tackled him into the snow with their hugging.
The monsters around him immediately stopped their conversation and begin to tease the scientist. Sam could sense that Gaster was embarrassed by this which only made them hug him tighter. That’s when one of the monsters popped the question to Gaster about whether Sam was his lover or not. Sam expected the skeleton to just deny it and move on. Instead however, the Human found themselves being shoved into the snow by Gaster. They weren’t hurt but Sam was confused as to why their boyfriend would do that. Before they could get up and bush themselves off, Sam heard the skeleton start talking.
“What? No, of course I’m not dating a human. Especially one as weak and pathetic as this one.”
Sam froze and remained silent. That...really hurt, didn’t Gaster know that? The Human continued to lay there in the cold snow while the skeleton continued to deny his involvement with them. Every word that was spoken hurt worse than the last. Sam could only wait for it to stop, which it eventually did when the unknown monsters mentioned having to get back to working on the Core. After all of them left, Sam pulled themselves off the ground and looked at Gaster with tears in their eyes.
“*You ask Gaster if he meant all those things he said about you..” ‘*He looks reluctant to speak...’
“W-Well, to be honest Sam, you are weak...in a sense.”
The Human started crying, stating that Gaster was mean for saying those things. That must’ve annoyed the skeleton since he suddenly grabbed their shoulders and stared at them with a angry expression. He went to say that Sam had no right to say that about him they knew they were weak. Gaster also said that the Human was lucky to still be alive and that they’re basically walking EXP. Sam went silent at this before narrowing their eyes and pushing him away.
“*You yell at Gaster and tell him that he has no right to tell you that!”
The two then got into a loud argument which drew attention, but those monsters quickly looked away when they saw that it was Sam and Gaster. The Human eventually got too choked to argue anymore so they quickly walked away from the skeleton.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
“*Home, not that he would care.”
Sam went inside before Gaster could say anymore. That was also the last time the two spoke to one another...
Sam’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted not only by the brothers trying to get their attention, but also by a growing pain in their chest. It felt like something was wrapping itself around their heart and lungs, making almost impossible to breathe. The Human covered their mouth as a feeling of something getting stuck in their throat joined in with the already present intense pain.
    “parental unit? are you ok?”
“PARENTAL UNIT, WHY ARE YOU COVERING YOUR MOUTH LIKE THAT?”
    "𝚂𝚊𝚖?"
The Human didn’t answer even when the brothers wrapped their arms around them. They just couldn’t, their throat hurt too much to speak now. Sam quickly got up and ran out the room towards the bathroom despite everyone calling out to them.
(Meanwhile...)
Gaster sighed as he scribbled down some notes on his clipboard. It had been a hard week for him. Not only did he and Sam have an argument, but now the Human was refusing to talk to him now. He didn’t blame them though, especially after the things he said about them. Lately he had been trying to distract himself by working more than usual. Alphys had obviously noticed but anytime she tried to bring it up with the skeleton, Gaster quickly changed the subject. That didn’t stop the lizard from continuing to worry though.
It was when Gaster and Alphys were about to start working on an invention when he felt something strange. It felt like something was twisting itself around his rib cage. It also felt like his ribs were about to break under the pressure. This caused him to start coughing. Alphys immediately stopped what she was doing and looked at her co-worker with a concerned look.
“D-Dr, Gaster, a-are you alright? Y-You’re not sick, are you?”
“Of course not, Alphys. I just-”
Gaster was interrupted by another sudden coughing fit. Quickly excusing himself, the skeleton rushed out before Alphys could stop him.
~~~~~~
     Sam stared at their shaking hands in disbelief. In their hands was a pile of white flower petals that were covered in tiny splatters of blood. Questions were rapidly flashing through their mind. What was wrong with them? What happened to make such a thing like this happen? Were they in danger? Sam’s confused thoughts were by a knock at the door. While they were frantically tried to wash away the petals, the Human heard Flowey speaking.
    "𝚂𝚊𝚖! 𝙷𝚞𝚛𝚛𝚢 𝚞𝚙 𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞'𝚕𝚕 𝚋𝚎 𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚘𝚛 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚔!"
     Oh right...work. Sam quickly composed themselves as much as they could and walked out. Flowey was there waiting for them with a strange look on his face. Sam just smiled at the plant before telling him to take care of the brothers while they were gone. Flowey just nodded and Sam walked out the house towards Grillby’s.
~~~~~~
Gaster pressed his back against the wall of the room he was in. Covering the floor were deep purple flower petals. The skeleton also found flowers were wrapped around his ribs and SOUL. He wasn’t an expert of flowers or anything but they seemed to be Hyacinth flowers. Gaster couldn’t worry about that now though. He needed to figure how something like this could happen.
‘Best not to tell Alphys about this...’
Speaking of the lizard, Gaster hear her calling out to him with worry in her voice. After cleaning up the mess, the skeleton buttoned up his shirt and slipped on his coat before heading out to calm his worried colleague down.
~~~~~~
    “*You hum quietly to yourself as you cook at the stove.”
     Sam smiled as they put the fries that were frying into a small basket before handing it to Grillby. The fire monster nodded in thanks and went back to the main area to complete a customer’s order. The Human went back to the stove and was about to start on the next one when they suddenly started to cough harshly. Quickly turning off the stove, Sam hacked and choked on the flower petals as they leaned against the kitchen’s wall. Tears ran down Sam’s cheeks as blood and flowers were forced out of their mouth.
     Grillby must’ve overheard them since he walked in, saw the state the Human was in, and went back to the dining area. Sam managed to hear through their coughing that their employer was explaining to the restaurant’s patrons that they needed to leave because there was something wrong with his employee. The patrons could be heard muttering their concerns as they filed out of Grillby’s. A few seconds after that, Grillby came back and calmly led Sam out the back door. He had Sam sit down in the snow as he moved a little to the side to seemingly make a phone call.
    “...”
     The Human tried to catch pieces of the conversation but the coughing just seemed to get worse. Grillby eventually ended the phone call and helped Sam up before leading them towards home. He didn’t immediately go in though. Instead the fire element waited for...some reason. Sam soon found out why exactly Grillby was waiting upon seeing Alphys hurriedly rushing towards the two with Gaster being pulled along. The lizard’s face had a look of panic while the skeleton had his shirt partially opened revealing flowers upon flowers covering his rib cage. Once the two scientists got to them, Sam and Gaster refused to make eye contact with each other. That’s when Alphys suddenly spoke up, exasperation in her voice.
    “H-Honestly, you two are so s-stubborn! Y-Yes Sam, I-I know what Gaster said was a-a bit...uncalled for, b-but still! ”
    “...”
     Grillby nodded in agreement as he stared at the two lovers. Sam and Gaster remained silent, both feeling ashamed of themselves. After a moment of silence, Alphys took Grillby and the two monsters went inside the house locking the door behind them, leaving Sam and Gaster alone.
     The air was thick with tension as the lovers sat next to each other, neither wanting to say anything. Sam started to say something but was instead thrown into a coughing fit, decorating the snow with petals and blood splatters. Gaster immediately wrapped his arms around them. The already present guilt only grew stronger when the skeleton realized that he was the reason his soulmate was like this. The Human then grabbed at his shirt while crying and hacking.
“*You sob to Gaster that you’re sorry for being so upset with him and tell him that you still love him...”
   “No, I’m sorry, Sam. As painful as it is to admit, I should have never said those things about you. I don’t blame you for lashing out like that.”
    Again the Human began to say something but Gaster shushed them and held Sam closer to him, slowly stroking their soft white hair. Sam could only sob as the skeleton tightly held them. They weren’t sobbing out of sadness though. The Human was crying because the pain in their chest had finally lifted. Any flowers that still remained in their throat seemed to shrivel up and disappear completely. The same happen for Gaster as he felt the vines and flowers slowly unraveled themselves from his ribs and SOUL. Breathing a sigh of relief, Gaster moved Sam to his lap where he hugged them tightly. Sam hummed in content, not wanting to move from that spot anytime.
    That’s where the two lovers stayed for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. The soulmates also realized that day how much they actually needed one another. True love doesn’t come very often after all...
~~~~~~
   “...”
“W-What are you t-trying to say?”
   “...”
“I-I’m taking these p-photos for a-a legitimate reason! T-They’re for uh, research purposes...”
   “...”
Note: Of course you were, Alphys. What kind of research though. Anyway, thank you all for waiting patiently while I wrote this fic! I hope you all enjoyed reading! Thank you so much for reading! Requests are always welcomed! I love you all so much! Stay tuned for more.

W.D. Gaster, the Ultimate Tickle Master (Chapter 10)
After a grueling battle in the forest, Gaster once again managed to get the best of all five of his “enemies.” But, before he could tickle them all at the same time once again, he was hit by a powerful lightning blast! A lightning blast so powerful that it sent him sliding about 60 yards away from everyone! :O Where did this lightning blast come from?! Or, maybe the better question to be asking is, “WHO did this lightning blast come from?!”

W.D. GASTER, THE ULTIMATE TICKLE MASTER
Chapter 10: Axe of Retribution
Gaster: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *Gaster shouted, sliding about 60 yards away from Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne after being hit by a mysterious blast of yellow lightning* Gah, what on earth?! *he asked, moments after witnessing the individual that attacked him and his clones with lightning*
???: Ehehehehe. Hello, Gaster. *said the attacker casually (and confidently) while summoning an axe that looked a little too big for them to wield effectively* It’s me, the girl that’s about to kick your ass! Ehehehehe~
Gaster: Oh, is that so? *asked Gaster, summoning his scythe while proceeding to stand up* Well then take your best shot, ALPHYS!!! I dare you!!
 (WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?! ALPHYS?!?! THAT’S WHO ATTACKED GASTER JUST NOW?!?!?! ALPHYS?!?! :O :O :O :O :O)
Gaster’s eyes sockets do not deceive him! Alphys is indeed the one that’s responsible for attacking him just now! Like Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Gaster himself, Alphys has magical abilities of her own. And with them, she is going to “fight” Gaster and make him pay for what he did to Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne this morning and Muffet, Blooky, and Mettaton yesterday afternoon. ;) Or, at least try to make him pay for what he’s done. She is going up against W.D. Gaster after all! But with her axe, lightning magic, and Undyne attire (again, everything minus the boots and eyepatch) aiding her however (the Undyne attire gives her a boost of confidence), she might just stand a chance. ;)
Alphys: Ehehehehe. That’s all I needed to hear. NGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *shouted Alphys, as if she were Undyne, while charging at Gaster with her axe*
Gaster: Hehehehe. Oh you. *said Gaster with a chuckle, summoning Gaster Blasters in an attempt to slow Alphys down* Do you really think that charging at me like that is going to work? Hehehehehehehe~
But it did work! Before the blasters could hit her, Alphys dashed out of the way with lightning-fast speed; as if she were a bolt of lightning herself; and before Gaster knew it, she was directly in front of him, just itching to dig with her clawed fingers and toes into his hopefully sensitive bones! But before Alphys could do that though, she and Gaster then clashed their weapons; Alphys with her large axe and Gaster with his demonic scythe; and they continued doing so for the next couple of minutes. All while Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne quietly made their way over to them to find out exactly what the two of them were doing, using the trees as cover to prevent Gaster from seeing them.
 ………
Toriel: Oh my goodness, can anyone explain to me what we just saw? Or, WHO we just saw? Asgore?
Asgore: Hey, don’t ask me, Toriel. I’m just a confused as you are.  And… so is Papyrus by the looks of it.
Papyrus: Nyeh heh heh! You’re gosh darn right, your majesty! Nyeh heh heh!
Sans: Hehehehe. Oh, don’t worry, you guys. You’ll find out what or who that was in a little while, trust me.
Undyne: Fuhuhuhu! Yeah, what he said. Fuhuhuhu! And once you find out, you and Toriel are going to be like, “What the *bleep*!!” Fuhuhuhu!! *said Undyne with a massive smile on her face before getting her ponytail yanked by Toriel* OUCH!! OW!!
 Toriel: Language, young lady!
Undyne: OW, OW, OW, ok, I’m sorry!! I’m sorry!! Ow, ow, ow!!
Toriel: Ok, that’s what I thought. *said Toriel, moments before letting go of Undyne’s hair*
 ………
 A few minutes later…
Gaster: Hehehehe. You’re skills are admirable, young lady. *said Gaster, complimenting Alphys* But let’s see how they fare against this!
Moments later, Gaster teleported directly behind Alphys with a full intent of digging his bony fingers into her overly sensitive sides. But right before he could do that though, Alphys dashed away from him with lightning-fast speed and then towards him with a full intent of digging her clawed fingers and toes into his bones. But then right before Alphys could do that, she was placed into a telekinetic hold by Gaster. Damn those telekinetic powers of his! And to make matters even worse, he summoned ghostly hands to try and tickle her everywhere on her sensitive body; her feet, her belly, her sides, her ribs, her neck, her knees, her thighs, her tail, you name it! But before that happened though, Alphys destroyed every single one of them with numerous bolts of lightning!
Alphys: Haha! Take that, G-Man! Yeah, I can cheat too! *teased Alphys in a cocky manner, moments before striking Gaster with lightning to free herself*
 Gaster: fjhefuisirfhwauifrhsubgisheiushrbrfbrerguregushierisigefarhsihs!!!
 Alphys: Haha! Yes! I’ve escaped!
Gaster: Hehe! Indeed you have! Hehehe. Now try to dodge this, why don’t you! *shouted Gaster, summoning bigger hands (2x bigger) to tickle Alphys with* Mwahahahahahaha!!
But then, before the hands could actually tickle Alphys, Alphys managed to destroy them all WITH FIRE FROM MOUTH; just like that of a fire-breathing dragon!!! :O In addition to summoning an axe and creating and controlling lightning, Alphys can also create and control fire!
Gaster: Hehehehe. You’re full of tricks, lizard. I like that about you. *claimed Gaster, summoning magical orbs to attack Alphys with in the form of spinning sickles*
Alphys: Ehehehehe. Good. Because there’s plenty more than where that came from! *exclaimed Alphys, moments before creating a large fire wall to protect herself from the sickles*
 ………
While Alphys was busy protecting herself from Gaster’s orbs with her fire wall, Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne, while continuing to stay out of sight, finally reached her and Gaster’s current location.
Toriel and Asgore: *surprised gasp* OH MY GOD!! ALPHYS?! THAT WAS ALPHYS?!
Undyne: Fuhuhuhu! Hell yeah, it was! She really got him good, didn’t she?
Sans: Hehe. Yep. Pretty cool, huh?
Papyrus: (Oh, good. That was Alphys. I’ve never seen her do that type of attack before. So when she attacked my dad a while ago, I thought it was some random stranger. :/)
Toriel: …Why was she in the house all this time?! *asked Toriel with a bit of sass in her voice, confused as to why Alphys didn’t physically assist her, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne in combat from the get-go*
Sans: Good question, Tori. You should ask her that after we all tickle my old man together. *said Sans to Toriel with a cheeky-looking grin on his face* Hehehe.
Asgore: Well, what are we waiting for then? Let’s get over there and help her!
Undyne: Oh, no, no, no. Not yet, Asgore. Let my little lizard bae have a little more fun first. Fuhuhuhu! (EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I’M SO PROUD OF YOU, ALPHYS!! X3)
 ………
Gaster: Mwahahahaha! Really? A fire wall? You’ve already got plenty of those on your computer, you know; and everyone else’s computers for that matter. *teased Gaster*
Alphys: Oh, shut up and “burn,” old man! *exclaimed Alphys, without any intention of offending Gaster as she began redirecting her fire towards his current location* NGAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *she shouted, like that of her fish waifu once again*
Gaster: *absorbs Alphys’s fire with his left arm and then fires it all back at Alphys*
Alphys had a feeling that Gaster was going to absorb her fire. So, in response to this, she too absorbed the fire; but not with one or both of her arms. Instead, she absorbed her own fire with her axe! Then, immediately after the fire was absorbed, Alphys jumped high into the air and then came down with a powerful slam, creating a fire shockwave that sent Gaster soaring through the air about 20 feet away from her!
Gaster: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH~!!! *shouted Gaster while flying through the air*
 ………
 Papyrus: Ok; now, Undyne?
Undyne: Fuhuhu; nope, not quite yet, Papy!
Papyrus: Well, when will it be time?
Undyne: I’ll let you know! *said Undyne in a bit of a sassy tone to Papyrus*
Toriel: Hey, no need to be so bossy, young lady! *shouted Toriel, scaring Undyne a little in the process*
Undyne: …I’m sorry. *Undyne apologized with a worried “Oh *bleep*!” expression on her face*
 ………
After being launched into the air by Alphys, Gaster then worked up enough energy to summon two giant hands; two giant hands that are capable of delivering some serious tickling to Alphys!
Gaster: Oh, you are so asking for it now, young lady! Hehehehehehe~
Alphys: Hmph! You talk too much. *teased Alphys, moments before obliterating both of Gaster’s giant hands in quick succession; the first one with a combination of her fire and lightning magic and then the second one with her axe* Hahahahahaha~!!
Gaster: *puts Alphys in the strongest telekinetic hold possible; a telekinetic hold in which she’s unable to move her eyes :O*
Alphys: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!! *shouted Alphys frighteningly, struggling to free herself from her current predicament* Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!
 ………
Undyne: Oh *bleep*!! Ok, everyone, let’s go!! My lizard weeaboo is in danger and needs our help!!
Toriel: Uh, “weeaboo,” Undyne? *asked Toriel confusingly, not expecting such a word to come out of Undyne’s mouth*
Undyne: (Oh, *bleep*! Did I really just say that out loud?!) Uh, nothing, just a silly little name I made up! *lied Undyne* Fuhuhu! Anyway, let’s save Alphys! She could really use some help right about now!
With that said; Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne all proceeded to run as fast as they could towards Gaster; attacking him with their weapons to make him let go of Alphys; Toriel with her sword and shield, Asgore with his trident, Sans with his double-bladed scythe, Papyrus with his weapon in its scythe form, and Undyne with her spear.
Gaster: Gah! Not again! *exclaimed Gaster, summoning hands and orbs to fend off his five attackers*
Of the five attackers, Toriel managed grab a hold one of Gaster’s limbs with her weapon its bladed whip form, Gaster’s left arm to be exact, before the hands and orbs began attacking her. Noticing this, Alphys, who had just recovered from being trapped in a telekinetic hold, felt the need to imbue Toriel’s weapon with lightning, electrocuting Gaster to make him lose control of his magical orbs to some extent.
 Gaster: fjasdfshegiuraefwjoiuseofnafsfwenfoanfonaos!!!
Toriel: Mwahahahaha! I got you! *shouted Toriel, firmly grasping Gaster’s left arm and shoulder to prevent him from teleporting away* Mwahahahahahaha~ Wait! Oof! Gah! No! Oooof! S-so many things pushing against meeeeeeee! Gah! I… I can’t tickle him! Ahhhhhh~
Despite having a firm grip on Gaster’s left arm and shoulder, Toriel is unable to tickle Gaster due to his summoned hands constantly pushing against her arms, legs, head, and torso. All she can do is hold onto him until he gets fully subdued and pray to God that he won’t try to tickle her in an attempt to make her let go of him!
Alphys: *gasp* It worked! Asgore, your turn! *shouted Alphys, moments before imbuing the monster king’s trident with lightning*
Asgore: Hohoho! Thanks, Alphys! *said Asgore in response*
Asgore then proceeded to fend off some of Gaster’s hands and orbs with his lightning-imbued trident with incredible ease. Then, once the hands and orbs were taken care of, Asgore managed to poke Gaster with his trident; electrocuting him once again and making him lose even more control of his magical orbs.
 Gaster: afiaefiufwaeiofonaesvnrjeksanerkjenskjerasj!!!
Asgore: Hohohoho! Another step closer! *shouted Asgore, firmly grasping Gaster’s right arm and shoulder to prevent him from teleporting away even more* Hohoho! Oof! Gaster, stop that! Oooooof!
Just like Toriel, Asgore, despite having a firm grip on Gaster’s right arm and shoulder, is unable to tickle Gaster due to Gaster’s summoned hands constantly pushing against his arms, legs, head, and torso. It appears that it’s going to take more than the brute strength of two boss monsters to subdue Gaster!
Undyne: *gasp* Oh, I see what you’re doing, babe! And I like it! Fuhuhuhu! Well, come on then! Just like we practiced! *exclaimed Undyne, summoning spears from the ground in a straight line directly towards Gaster’s left leg*
 Alphys: Hehe. Aww, nice! Ehehehehe.
Undyne: Papy, do the same thing with your bones!
Papyrus: Nyeh heh heh! Will do, Undyne! *exclaimed Papyrus, summoning bones from the ground in a straight line directly towards Gaster’s right leg*
Alphys: Ehehehe. Ok, here goes nothing… KAMEHAMEHA!!! *shouted Alphys, sending chain lightning from bone to bone and spear to spear until eventually reaching both of Gaster’s legs* (Ehehehehe. Yeah! Giant energy beam or not, shouting that was definitely worth it!!! *gasp* Oh dear, now I’m starting to sound like my “little bro!” The extremely rare not-so-sweet side of him to be exact!)
 Gaster: safjhreugiersgurwhtugiersogniowernstboerooesranew!!!
By electrocuting Gaster a third time, Alphys has managed to make Gaster lose practically all of his control with his magical orbs. That and make it possible for both Undyne and Papyrus to grab Gaster’s legs; Undyne with a firm grip on Gaster’s left leg and Papyrus with a firm grip on Gaster’s right leg.
Undyne: Fuhuhu! Beautiful, babe! Just beautiful! Fuhuhu! Oof! Urgh!
Papyrus: But still not quite enough, I’m afraid! Gah! Nyoo hoo hoo!
Just like Toriel and Asgore, Undyne and Papyrus are unable to tickle Gaster due to so many summoned hands pushing against their arms, legs, heads, and torsos. Clearly four individuals aren’t enough to fully subdue Gaster either! So, upon observing this, Sans, who has been fending off Gaster’s hands and magical orbs in a nearby tree this entire time, teleported directly above Gaster and landed directly onto his shoulders to subdue him even more.
Sans: Hehehehe. Gotcha, Dad! Hehehehe. And now you’re blind! *shouted Sans, covering up his father’s eyes just like a little kid riding on one of their parents’ shoulders*
Gaster: Gah; really, Sans? Urgh! Just how old do you think you are? *asked Gaster in disbelief, struggling to keep control of his magical orbs as he summoned hands to push against his older son’s arms, legs, head, and torso*
Sans: Hehehehe. I am 7 years old! I’m a little kid! *said the 28-year-old skeleton jokingly, keeping a firm grip on Gaster’s head with his hands and legs* Hehehehehe. Wheeeeeeeee~ Oooooooooof!! *he exclaimed as skeleton hands started pushing against him*
 Gaster: Uraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
By covering up Gaster’s eyes, Sans has made Gaster lose all control of his magical orbs. But not his summoned hands though! The summoned hands are still pushing against everyone’s arms, legs, heads, and torsos with all of their might in order to prevent everyone trying to subdue him from tickling him! Even more so now with Sans firmly grasping Gaster’s head!
Alphys: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! H-h-hold on, guys! *panicked Alphys* If I could just… * she shouted, making her way close to Gaster only to be stopped by some of his summoned hands*
At this point, Gaster has summoned the maximum number of hands that he’s capable of summoning. All 200 of them! And with them, he is fending off Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and Alphys; enough to prevent them from tickling him but not enough to make them let go of his limbs and head. So, that’s where Alphys comes in. Somehow, while fending off some of Gaster’s summoned hands with her axe, lightning magic, and fire magic, the nerdy lizard girl herself needs to find a way to fully subdue Gaster. Somehow, she needs to make something happen. Anything! Literally anything at this point! Gaster is very strong! And Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne don’t know how much longer they can hold him!
Alphys: O-o-ok, you guys! Eyaaaaaaa! *slices through some of Gaster’s summoned hands with her axe* How’s this work for you? *charges up and then fires lightning from her axe directly at Gaster, affecting him and only him with her lightning*
But the lightning blast didn’t do any good! If anything, it made it more difficult for everyone to fend off the hands. Hmmm… perhaps fire will work better?
Alphys: *bleep* *bleep*!! Um, ok, uh, h-h-how about this? Will this work? *charges up and then fires a steady stream of fire (like that of flamethrower) from her axe directly at Gaster, affecting him and only him with her fire*
Nope! Fire didn’t work either! Just like the lightning, the fire made fending off Gaster’s hands even more difficult! But, luckily for Alphys though, there’s one more thing she can do; something that might easily subdue Gaster; but, also something that might make it harder for everyone to tickle him. :/
Alphys: Ugh! All right, I was hoping I wouldn’t have to do this, but I’m kinda out of options over here, soooo… here goes nothing…
With that said; Alphys proceeded to take a really deep breath. Then, once she was ready, SHE BLEW ICE BREATH IN GASTER’S DIRECTION, completely freezing Gaster and the ground around him without affecting Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne in any way, shape, or form!! :O But not just that though! Just in case Gaster tries to find a way to escape his frozen predicament, Alphys felt the need to make it harder for him to try and escape by surrounding him with a plethora of ice pillars and spikes! Of course after Toriel, Asgore, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne all moved away from him! That’s right! In addition to summoning an axe and creating and controlling lightning and fire, Alphys can also create and control ice! Lightning, fire, and ice; that’s three different types of elemental magic at Alphys’s disposal! And with them, along with her axe, she makes for one fearsome warrior under the guise of a nerdy scientist that lacks combat skills. In other words, a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Or, in this case, a lizard in fish’s clothing; literally since she’s currently wearing Undyne’s clothes minus the red boots and black eyepatch.
Sans: Woah, CHILL out, Al! ICE think you’ve made your point! Hehehehehe~
Undyne: *sarcastic laugh* Oh, shut up, bonehead! *Undyne shouted at San before saying the following to Alphys,* Alphys, that was very COOL of you! Fuhuhu!
Toriel: Hee hee hee! Yeah, way to LET IT GO, young lady! *cheered Toriel* Hee hee hee!
Alphys: Heeheeheeheehee!! Awwww, thanks, you guys! *said Alphys while blushing* Heeheeheehee!!
Asgore: Hohoho! Of course, Alphys! Hohoho! Of course! Hohoho! Of course!
Papyrus: Nyeh heh heh! Yes, indeed! But, there’s just one problem though! How are we going to tickle my dad while he’s frozen solid like this?!
Alphys: Oh, ehehehehehe, I have no idea! Ehehehehehe; but, hey, look on the bright side. At least now we don’t have to worry about him tickling us! Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee~!! *giggled Alphys; moments before feeling something tickly dig into her overly sensitive soles underneath the grass and dirt* PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! *SNORT* HUHUHUHUHUH?!! *SNORT* HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, *SNORT* WHAHAHAAHAHAT THE HEHEHEHEHEHELL?!! *asked Alphys confusedly in between spurts of adorable giggles and laughter as something tickled her feet underneath the part of the ground she’s currently standing on* HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!! *SNORT* OHOHOHOOHOH GOHOHOHOHOD, *SNORT* *SNORT* HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA, *SNORT* OH MY GOHOHOHOHOHOD, *SNORT* HAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA, *SNORT* SOMETHING’S TIHIHIHIHIHICKLING *SNORT* MY FEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEET!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* *SNORT* BLAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! *the nerdy lizard girl giggled and laughed once more, moments before falling to the ground and onto her back; and moments before something began restraining her to the ground in a spread eagle position with her tail lying flat against the ground in between her legs* HEHEHEHEHEHEHELP ME!!!!!!! *SNORT* HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, *SNORT* SOMEBOHOHOHOHODY, *SNORT* HEHEHEHEHELP MEEHEEHEEHEE!!!!!!! *SNORT* *SNORT* EEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE~!!!!!!!

underrole chapter 1 .  a friendly name
Sans couldn’t believe what he was looking at: what was… it?? Surely not a human… neither a monster… that soul… what did that soul represent anyway? When he got himself together after the initial shock, now staring with suspect in the new being’s direction, he slowly got up, not losing sight of him.
- You… you get up… and change to something else! Those clothes are useless. Take a sweatshirt from the closet and follow me downstairs. I have to be sure of something. And no weirdness. -
The being rather confused obeyed to the order, slipping on what he found inside the closet, an orange, almost brown, sweatshirt with two big pockets and a hood, following Sans shortly after, like he was his brother.. It hesitated, however, a few seconds before leaving the room, as his eyes wandered around the room: a computer, a flag with a skull and a bed that felt very familiar, but unknown at the same time.
Sans frustrated and bored, seeing he was not being followed, tracked back to the room. - Are you ready? We have to go! - He begun, stopping shortly after as he spotted the being just looking around the room overfilled with excitment, looking at every object he could get to.
Tumblr media
- Sorry!! - it answered back, a positive energy radiating by him – Everything is so exciting in here! I’d like to have a room like this!!… anyway, we’re ready, SO LET’S GO!! - it yelled happily, with a visible childish vibe about him.
They left the house together, walking in Snowdin as monsters who saw them were surprised, but not for the mysterious hooded figure, they looked at Sans… he was walking at a normal pace, almost too fast for his standards.
The character kept having this… familiarity, of the place he was in, even tho he seemed to remember only a few names, without knowing the reason..
- Uhm.. so… brother… -
- Sans, call me Sans. - Snapped quick the skeleton, not looking at him and leading the way.
- Ok, Sans.. where are we going? -
- At the lab. -
- The lab? The lab… mhh… - he initially stumbled in thought - THE LAB!! I REMEMBER!! - he then yelled once more, loud and noisy, grabbing the skeleton under his arm /without even asking permission/ and running as fast as the wind.
Sans was only initially bothered, since, well… he fell asleep a few seconds after.
After a small amount of time, the skeleton felt tapping on his head, forcing him to wake up.
- Sans? We’re at the lab!! -
The monster freed himself, plopping down and walking again in front of him, saying – Stay behind me -, before entering the building.
The door opening scared Alphys, who was having lunch at her desk.
- S-S-S-SANS!! I didn’t expect you… nor him… Y’know… after all that happened.. I...I didn’t check the door a-a-and… - she panicked and fidgeted, jolting up and moving towards them.
- I don’t want to talk about it, and I am not here for this! - Sans cut it short.
- O-Oh… A-Alright… - Alphys trembled – W-Who… who is the monster with you….? - she asked hesitant – I know it’s a bad moment, but… you know… we do need human material… -
- I KNOW!! - Sans was losing his cool again, as he lowered the hoodie from the character – But now we have another problem. This ! -
Alphys took a step back, surprised – W-W-What happened???? - Why is the human with you???? Alive????? Why didn’t you call Undyne!!!-
Sans started to walk towards the elevator. - We’re going downstairs to check something, bro… mmh. You, follow me. - He said, pointing to the new character. It followed jumping in the elevator, followed by Alphys.
- So… Sans. You’re fine with… what happened…? -
- We have other problems, and maybe good news. I have to check. - said the skeleton, coldly.
(…)
In the lab, Sans spoke again to the character.
- Mhh… brother… - He said, carefully, trying to sound convincing as Alphys stared with confusion – Go to those machines, and sit on a chair. -
- YES!! - It didn’t object once again, listening to Sans.
Alphys placed some electrodes and other devices on the character, connected to said machines.
- We’re ready.. so… what’s you name? -
The character just shrugged – I dunno! -
- Alright… - Alphys checked the machinery – And, who are you? -
- I don’t know! -
- What happened? -
Sans rolled his eyes, if only he knew.
- …? …?? This CAN’T be!! How did it happen? And.. and what is this?? -
- What are you talking about, Alphys?? - Sans grew impatient.
The lizard started walking back and forth, caugh by sudden agitation, - I don’t know!! This is not a normal soul, and I have no clues on what this is, maybe it’s a new kind? -
- Perfect. So it’s neither my brother, nor the human… this is perfect!! I mean… are we serious here?? - Sans placed a hand on his skull, looking on the floor – Great!! My brother really died, or became that thing… what I am I supposed to do now? Tell me Alphys. What do I do without my brother? - said the skeleton, heartbroken, as he was falling in despair.
The character heard every word, before disconnecting himself from the machines, and going towards Sans, hugging him from behind with kindness.
- Sssh… everything is ok, I promised someone that I would take care of you, and we don’t break promises. -
The skeleton did not have any peculiar reaction, not at the time being.
- Sans… - The scientist spoke again - ...if you want I can finish our check up… but then I have to call Undyne. -
The character lifted up Sans, placing him on another chair, before returning to his place.
- Let’s continue, if this makes Sans happy. -
Sans was speechless, realizing how much this… thing reminded him of Papyrus. It was something that bothered him, a lot, but he decided to wait for the end of the examination.
After some tests, the group moved upstairs to see the results. Alphys printed them out, and read them carefully.
- This is incredible! - She gasped – All the results say the same thing, it’s not a human, it’ not  a monster, maybe a hybrid? He is made of blood, and magic, meat and I dunno what else, fused together, or maybe placed together… unluckily, I can’t tell you if it’s your brother, or the human. I can tell you that it’s something else, new.. and entity created by fragments of souls.. I am sorry Sans, but… but your brother is gone… -
The skeleton, again, didn’t have any peculiar reaction, he was awfully serious - I know, I already saw my brother die in front of my eyes. ...what do we do with him? -
- Unluckily, the determination is not of a human… - she started, fixing her glasses on her nose - ..so we can’t use it to break the barrier. He is more monster than human, his soul.. If I may call it so.. is too weak to resist outside the body… - She hesitated.
- Sans, I know he is not your brother, but he loves you, I think. -
The character was sitting far from then, randomly moving his feet and kicking the air.
(...)
After a short while, a loud sound came from the door, and Undyne charged inside the lab in full armor, throwing a spear against the character who was next to Alphys, missing him for a mile.
- U-UNDYNE NO! STOP!! - Alphys yelped, bur the fish women was attacking again. This time, the spear bounced against the ceiling, and went straight for Sans’ blind spot.
Both the women yelled, in horror – BE CAREFUL!! -
Sans shut his eyes, hoping to survive… he waited for the blow, but it never came. Instead, something started to drip on his head.
- …? -
He slowly opened his eyes, to see the character holding the spear an inch from him, that wounded his hand.
- Sans, are you ok? -
The skeleton wiped his head from what looked like blood, surprised. - You… stopped the spear for me? - He then, realized, and smiled.  - Of course… you’re my brother. -
The character first smiled to the small skeleton, then slightly annoyed turned to Undyne – You don’t just go and throw spears around! You could’ve seriously hurt him! Apologize!! -
Undyne was speechless – Sans…. What.. why is the human here? -
- I dunno. - The character answered, like she was talking to him.
Alphys interefered, standing in front of Undyne and trying to finally grasp her attention – I will explain everything, now let me introduce you… a special being. A… mash up on soul base of Papyrus, and the human.
Undyne stared blankly, giving hints of having understood nothing. So the lizard tried to explain using the simplest phrasing possible.
- ...so, they mixed. -
- They did not “mix”. They fused into something entirely new. Human. Monster. Whatever he is now. - explained Sans.
- But, being like this, we can’t use him for the barrier, so… what do we do now? - questioned Alphys.
Sans and Undyne looked at each other, then at the human, exchanged looks with Alphys in silent, and shrugged.
- Perfect. Well, let’s give him a name, at least. - Alphys turned to the human. - What now? -
- I’ll ask Asgore, and you don’t do any strangeness! - Undyne said, walking towards the exit.
- Ok!! - The character answered, cheerfully. He then removed the spear from his hand, and a light orange glow came from the wound, healing it without leaving trace, instantaneously. Sans and Alphys were surprised.
- What… was that? - started Alphys
- ...you’re asking me? - continued Sans – Let’s find him a name, I’m running short on ways to call him. -
- ...Wave. - The character said – I like Wave. -
- Ok… now, be careful. I don’t want an OCEAN of problems. - said the skeleton, hands in his pockets. as Wave giggled - ..or I’ll have to SAND this story up! -
Alphys rolled her eyes.
- Maybe I can find a solution to your SANSational problem!! - Wave replied, with a grin.
- Ok, enough!! OUT! - said Alphys, pushing them outside of the lab.  underrole from @nxsuper fix of the text at the mythic  @nephdetermined  uwu thanks for your work !!!!! MASTERPOST!

Underearth: Book 1 - Chapter 26
The outside of the elevator was relatively cooler than back down on the first level. A quick investigation from Frisk showed why, as this new level is much higher up, far from the magma below. Just outside the elevator as well was a small flame with two arms, two legs, and a face. As Frisk looked at it, the face of the flame looked at him.
"Heh. I'm Heats Flamesman. Remember my name!" the flame said.
"Uh, alright." Frisk responded, not really sure on what to say.
After the interaction with the flame Monster, Frisk flipped around and walked down the narrow passage, a precipice on either side of him. Not long after, Frisk ran into a slightly wider area that boasted two Monsters holding hotdogs, and what appeared to be another sentry station holding Sans behind it.
"Hey buddy, what's up?" Sans said to Frisk when he approached the stand.
"Not much. So, you've got another sentry station up here?" Frisk responded.
"Nah, this ain't a sentry station. It's a hotdog stand. Speaking of which, wanna buy a hotdog? It's only 30G."
"I would, but I've still got no money." Frisk said a bit disappointedly.
"Heh, you should get a job. I've heard being a sentry pays well." Sans said jokingly.
"Yeah, I'll think about it"
Frisk, wanting to get a move on to get back to the surface, turned to face the pathway opposing the one he'd come down. "Anyway, I'm gonna get going."
"See ya, then."
Frisk began walking down the pathway.
The pathway was long and mostly uneventful. Frisk looked around at the area while walking, noticing several strange red-glowing things off in the distance. As he progressed, his phone began going off from status updates. First one from Alphys was a picture captioned "dinner with the girlfriend ;)", the picture was of a catgirl figurine next to a bowl of instant noodles.
The next update was from a user by the name of "CoolSkeleton95". It was another picture captioned "ARE WE POSTING HOT 'PICS???' HERE IS ME AND MY COOL FRIEND.", the picture was of Papyrus flexing in front of a mirror wearing sunglasses. Giant muscular biceps were pasted onto his arms, which were also wearing sunglasses.
"LOL, CoolSkeleton95! ... that's a joke, right?" Alphys replied.
"THE ONLY JOKE HERE, IS HOW STRONG MY MUSCLES ARE."
Ain't that the truth.
Just up ahead was a branch in the path, heading left. Not much further and Frisk received another notification. "NAPSTABLOOK22 has sent you a friend request."
"Who?" Frisk racked his brain trying to figure out who this was but couldn't remember anybody who'd go by the handle "NAPSTABLOOK22", so he rejected it, and stashed the phone back into his pocket.
The area he had entered appeared to be a dead end, with an apron lying on the ground. The apron itself had a large heart embroidered onto the front of it, taking up most of the area, and a big, brown stain on the top of it. Frisk decided to leave it be and get back on the correct path.
Another little bit down the path and Frisk came upon a set of conveyor belts, one going outbound, the other inbound. Frisk phone began ringing as he approached.
"H... hi...! It's Dr. Alphys. This p-puzzle is kinda... um... timing-based. Y-you see those switches over there?" she was referring to three red dots that ran along the outbound conveyor. "Y-you'll have to press all three of them within 3 seconds. I'll t-try to help you with the rhythm!"
"No thanks, Alphys, I've got it." Frisk responded.
"A-are you sure?"
"Yes. You don't need to help me with puzzles. If I need help, I'll call you."
"O-oh, alright."
The phone-call then ended.
Frisk got onto the outbound conveyor and pressed all three buttons easily, de-activating a force-field covering the exit, allowing him to proceed.
The next puzzle was right after the previous, just barely down the pathway. As Frisk reached it, he got a notification of a new status update from Alphys.
"that's the last time i try to help with a puzzle lmao"
Good, about time you gave up trying to help me. Frisk thought.
Frisk then looked at the area, which consisted of multiple islands with steam-vents pointing in all four directions on each island with a large switch in the middle. Three conveyors looped around the left side of the area allowing for those that wanted to to backtrack without entering the islands, but the only way forward was through them.
Frisk looked at the puzzle for a while before making a move, touching the switch located next to the steam-vent on the section he was on. This caused some steam-vents to de-activate, but a few to activate. With his collected knowledge, he then spent the following minutes preforming the puzzle, eventually solving it, and landing on the other side. Once there, Frisk proceeded down the pathway.
The pathway here was just as long and uneventful as the start of the level. This of course means, by just as uneventful, that Alphys was constantly posting updates to her status.
"OMG? ppl think Mew Mew 2 is better than Mew Mew 1? LOLLLLL that's a joke right..." and "omg... DONT THEY GET IT RUINS Mew Mew's ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC" - "My Mew Mew 2 Review: Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2 Is Neither Kissy Nor Cutie. It's Trash. 0 stars"
Funny how people here are just as opinionated as back on the surface. Frisk thought to himself.
Further down the pathway, Frisk heard a deep, slightly muffled voice call out "Hey! You! Stop!" to him. Frisk turned to see what the commotion was. Behind him he saw the same two soldiers that were blocking a branch back before he entered Alphys's laboratory.
"We've, like, received an anonymous tip about a Human wearing a striped shirt." The one with what looked like armored bunny ears said. "They told us they were wandering around Mount Hot right now... I know, sounds scary, huh? Well, just stay chill. We'll bring you someplace safe, OK?"
Frisk stood still, as he wasn't wanting to go anywhere. "No thanks, I'll be fine." he told them.
"Hey, like, we've got a job to do, so if you could please co-operate with us, that'd be nice." the bunny-eared one protested, all while the other, who looked something like an armored lizard, just stared at Frisk.
"You're wearing a striped shirt." the lizard finally said, causing the bunny to look at him. They both remained quiet for something like a minute after until the bunny finally spoke again.
"Bro... Are you thinkin'... What I'm thinkin'?" The bunny asked the lizard, who just nodded. "Bummer. This is, like... Mega embarrassing. We, like, actually totally have to kill you and stuff." This last one was directed at Frisk. Next think he knew, they'd both drawn swords and readied to attack.
Frisk got ready to be attacked by them, and waited. These two Monsters were heavily armored in plate-mail, just like Undyne, meaning Frisk didn't have a weapon that could kill them. Then a thought came to his head. If I could get a hold on one of their swords, I might just be able to kill them. Frisk got ready to counter and maybe disarm one.
"Team attack!" They both said, nearly at the same time before lounging at Frisk, who backed up just out of their reach. When their swing had finished, both their arms were just hanging out in the open. Frisk too advantage of this and struck the back of the bunny's hand as well as the inside of their wrist at the same time. This caused his sword to fly out of his now half open hand and land on the ground not too far away. Frisk dived for the sword, grabbed it, then swung around and stabbed the bunny in the chainmail on his lower abdomen. The bunny gave a horrible shrike as Frisk pulled it out. The lizard stepped back, hesitating as the bunny dropped to his knees and Frisk cut off his head. The lizard looked on in horror.
"Robert..." the lizard then looked straight at Frisk. "you...!!!!" he then charged straight at Frisk, swinging twice, then jamming his sword straight into the ground, getting it stuck there. While trying to pull it out, Frisk took the opportunity to cut off the guard's left arm at the elbow. The guard recoiled from pain, stumbling backward and collapsing onto the ground. Frisk approached with the sword to cut off his head as well, but mid-swing, the guard brought up their other hand and caught the sword, pulling it out of Frisk's hands, then batting him away with the stub of his left arm. Frisk hadn’t flow far, fortunately, as the path was narrow and the drop was far into magma.
The guard regained his composure and picked up the sword of his fallen ally and approached Frisk with it, who too had regained composure. Frisk dodged the relentless swinging of the guard until one swing that left the guard wide open, allowing Frisk to shove him. Hadn't done much and wouldn't have done anything if the edge of the path wasn't right next to where the guard was. The guard saw how close to the edge he was and lost balance just enough for Frisk to shove him again over the edge. The guard screamed the entire trip into the lake of magma below, and everything fell silent.
Frisk sat back to catch his breath for a few minutes before going back and trying to pull the sword jammed into the ground, but to no avail. After trying for a minute or so, he just decided to once again press onward. Wasn't long before his phone went off again with another status update.
"oopswait how's the humnan doing"
What have you been doing this entire time Alphys!? Frisk thought to himself.
"Top 10 Shows That Make You Froget To Do Your Frickin Job"
Frisk kept the phone in his hand as he went forward, as he figured Alphys was going to call again. Just ahead after a bend in the pathway was a barely perceptible thick black curtain covering an entire section of the pathway, an opening in the curtain corresponded with the path.
Must be Mettaton again... Frisk thought as he entered into the area, resulting in a pitch-black view of everything. Frisk readied himself for yet another adventure with Mettaton.

Fell dyne headcanon story of (underfell and) her timeline!
Baby undyne: she was born (duh) and raised in a household with a abusive father but a loving and protective mother until one day the mother hided baby fell dyne and talked to the abusive father saying she was going to raise undyne herself, the father got angry so killed the mother and then eventually found out later on in fell dynes life that the father later on killed himself by jumping of a cliff.
baby undyne prt 2: asgore got complaints of contestant  baby crying and screaming from waterfalls residents so asgore went to check it to find dust and the baby dyne but just gave the baby to gaster since asgore had his own kids and didn't give a sh!t. gaster raised dyne until a kid so that what was ahead of fell dyne could be survived.
kid undyne: kid fell dyne became gasters lab rat constantly getting experimented on with potions and magic and machinery, eventually undyne looked like she was starved to death since she found herself vomiting so much from the experimints. the last experiment gaster did on kid dyne was featuring determination and was highly unlikely she would survive it in her current state, but she did and escaped with the power she had left
kid dyne prt 2: kid dyne was "determined" to overcome asgore and at this point his kids and wife left him and now just finding out his kids have died from humans. the reason kid fell dyne wanted to overcome asgore is because of little kid urges of controlling the world ALSO she didn't want to be considered weak since that's what gaster also referred to kid fell dyne as "a weak pathetic mistake" eventually undyne couldn't even hit asgore but instead of just opening her with open arms he remembered her face from before and gaster was gone so he decided what ever gaster did to her would become important to the guard and hopefully prove to be useful, asgore eventually in this time period tells dyne about her parents
teen dyne: finally apart of the guard she was feared for her commanding strength and power over all of them and respected asgore at the time, but at this time period she ran into alphys but instead of by the water thinking of sucide they just happened to in into eachother at first it was aggression but undyne began to like the fact that such a small lizard monster had the voice of a dinosaur that wanted to kill you, after meeting with alphys a couple of times fell dyne started to over hear conversastions with asgore talking about a stronger monster then her fell dyne in her mind was like "tch a stonger monster then me..??? HAH never I'm probably just hearing things"
teen dyne part2:undyne began becoming closer to alphys learning more about her and her dreams about becoming scientist, undyne didn't ignore alphys thoughts and was about to bring up to asgore how alphys wanted that job but before undyne could alphys already had a robot and undyne couldn't help but  smile proudly and incurage alphys to make a robot for her but...alphys stoped talking to undyne after that question fell dyne wondered why. dyne soon found out about papyrus and when she came bk asgore out of nowhere anouced that this skeleton papyrus could possibly be the new head of the guard but undyne wouldn't let that happen so she picked a fight with aggression ruining asgores speech and papyrus jump up to protect asgore causing a fight between dyne and papyrus taking undynes right eye asgore no doubt ashamed cut undyne off of being head of guard Still in the guard just not head of it. papyrus took undynes place as the head of guard. undyne was furious but no doubt her depression started kicking in she went to visit alphys because of these emotions and talked with alphys.....alphys wasn't alphys anymore she acted all druged up and insane sorta like that anyway. undyne though didn't question it as she was used to it and alphys was still alphys to her.
adult dyne: undynes anger has boiled up ever since not being head of guard only ever talking to alphys has every other monster laughed that they ever feared her. eventually with that anger she saw a human in waterfall undyne though quickly. "if I killed that human and absorbed there soul I could overpower asgore and papyrus HAH I will be the new bitch of this world" She grabed the human and slaughtered then taking there soul but alphys catching this on camera seeing dyne not head towards the castle reported this to asgore.... asgore soon found out and found undyne just as she was about to do the deed asgore toke the human soul and told undyne to follow him in a very angry tone to the point....even undyne was scared... as papyrus followed shortly behind dyne making sure she didn't run away asgore took her to the castle and papyrus was dismissed. undyne and asgore got into a fight  and then got physical and the fight...was the fight undyne wanted for oh so long but in the price....she got seriously injured barly surviving it with a huge ass gash in stomach and her monster soul cracked from the damage she was taken to alphys lab to be healed after being told..."I don't ever want to hear from you again so say good bye to the royal guard you weak pathetic shit"
adult dyne prt 2: undyne woke up with alphys wraping bandages all around undyne, undyne asked what happened and why....undyne soon remembered and a sudden jolt of tears ran down face silent but obvious as alphys was right there to see it. alphys suddenly felt the large amount of guilt and hugged undyne trying to comfort her and not mention ruinings fell dynes already shitty life even more. after recovering undyne started to hurt herself so she could feel like she wasn't weak to go through her own living hell. she even started to drink, first it was small but then it got heavy and became addicted....then when the next human falls down she plans to take there soul and not just kill papyrus and asgore but everybody else that mocked her, laughed at her and....called her weak....the word weak already coursed through her vains enough though angry her depression was much worse faking a smile 24/7 and when she got home she turned of the lights and cried herself to sleep most of the time... and then the rest of the story is with frisk and there journey.
( as you can see the grammer in this is terrible and thats because my computer is being weird af for some reason ALSO eyyyy i explain something )

Day 4 - Papyrisk (Underswap)
Imma be honest, this was one of the hardest to do, mostly because I just spent so much time wondering what AU to do, and how I was going to make it work. And then… his beauty came to mind.
WARNING: Although this doesn’t contain any NSFW content, the relationship is very unhealthy and does have a very… rapey moment.
Pairing: Papyrus/Frisk
Word Count: 2,293
Step… step… step…
At first, Frisk never wanted to hurt anyone. You could call her a bit of a pacifist, and she was rather proud of that. The same could be said for Chara, the human that hosted her spirit. After all, these were her fellow monsters she was talking about. They had loved her and treated her as if she was one of their own, and she relished seeing her family once again. Chara seemed to understand these feelings, as she had made sure to painstakingly spare every monster they came across. Together they saved the Underground, and Frisk finally received the closure her restless spirit had been aching for ever since her death. But… then came the resets.
“Heya kid…”
Reset after reset, they saw the same things over and over again, with small bouncing skeletons and angry lizards meeting them with the same lines and shenanigans with each turn back. Chara seemed to be only interested in reliving one of the best days of her life, as well as experimenting with the different reactions and secrets of the people around them. However, the one that caught Frisk’s attention the most was that humorist. It was the comedian. The skeleton who smelled of an interesting mix of cigarettes and honey.
“You’ve been busy, huh?”
It was just a harmless interest at first. The skeleton was obviously hiding a few secrets, secrets that they uncovered with each time they reset the world. Still, even after poking through each and every crevice of the Underground, it seemed that Chara’s curiosity was not yet sated.
“Really busy.”
Chara was the one who came up with the idea to start slaying a few monsters. Frisk was absolutely against it, though she had to admit her own curiosity was rather high.
“You just don’t know when to quit, do ya?”
When they had slain their first monster, they had both felt horrible. They had felt remorse and regret. By the fiftieth monster, Frisk couldn’t seem to muster up the emotion to even care.
“Alright then… tell me something, kid.
First it just a few monsters, and by the time a few resets had passed, Chara was already slaying Alphys. Frisk had always had a sort of loathing towards the lizard; she wasn’t going to be missed by her anytime soon. It wasn’t until she was killing her own mother and father in the next few runs that she realized she had stopped being able to feel the remorse she had once been proud to feel.
“I want you to be completely honest with me…”
Once again, it was Chara who wanted to go all the way. She just wanted to know what it would feel like; to see what would happen and how her once friends would react. And so, that’s what she did. It wasn’t until nearly everyone within the ruins had been slain that Frisk was able to, for once in her life, gain control. It was startling at first, and Chara was completely taken aback when she moved through Sans’ puzzles without even realizing it. It had been scary for her, but Frisk only found it exhilarating. However, no amount of killing or resets could prepare her for the real deal; the object of her entire focus.
Papyrus.
“How many times have we done this?”
Frisk could only grin, the smile stretching across her face as her fingers mindlessly twirled the knife in her hand. Papyrus blinked at her with tired sockets, giving a small sigh as he knew she wasn’t going to answer him. It was all a part of her fun. “Alrighty then,” he muttered, phalanges coming up to his cigarette, quickly crushing it by both ends and flicking it away.
“Let’s get this over with.”
Adrenaline kicked through her the instant she felt her soul turn blue and her body slam against the wall. She couldn’t keep that delirious grin off of her face as she nimbly dodged each bone that shot up from the ground. As expected, not a scratch was on her by the time the Blasters had disappeared. She grabbed hold of her knife as her body darted forward to give the first strike.
The first time they had battled, it was frustrating. It was infuriating. It made her angrier and angrier with each time she was forced to load her Save File once again. There was a conclusion, though. It took one hundred and sixty-seven times, but there was finally an ending. No dosage of heroine or cocaine in the world could give her the same high she felt when her knife hit bone, slicing straight through his neck and lobbing his skull clean off. She felt only glee once he dusted. However, that wasn’t the end of it. Even after, she found that her thoughts still lingered on that humorist. Of course, those thoughts had died down once Chara had reset again, but after gaining a few more levels from harming a group of monsters, her interest was sparked again. The two began to experiment, seeing what kills got him to react in certain ways. Frisk found a particular giddying feeling in just seeing what could make him express emotion. This usually meant slashing through his older brother, but he she didn’t care. Sans was forgettable anyways. Papyrus was much more intriguing.
Before long, they were on the route to genocide once again. Frisk wanted to feel that high again. She wanted to experience every grueling moment of that final fight. Sure enough, they were face to face once again, and Frisk was only a tad rusty with her moves this time. It only took a good twenty tries to kill him that time. But this wasn’t enough, and soon they reset and went back to experimenting. They hadn’t even erased the world, either. The expression on his face when he saw Chara again, it was… well, she wasn’t going to describe it in words. Papyrus had become her new obsession, and she was determined to know everything she could about her favorite humorist.
Now, here she was, on their fiftieth genocide run. She couldn’t be more ecstatic. Frisk considered this to be their anniversary, even if Papyrus himself didn’t know it. She would make this memorable, though, just for him. Only for him.
Thoughts of their being together had clouded her mind, to the point where she was almost hit again. That was rather close. Still, she didn’t let it deter her, and went about slashing at him once again to see him take a short cut out of the way just in time. More bones shot from the ground, but they were avoided with ease. It was practically child’s play at this point. The more she dodged his attacks, the more she saw her love beginning to sweat, her prize soon to come. She had the entire sequence memorized at this point; bones, blast, jump, bones, jump, blast. He was at the point of where he was getting tired. It was coming.
Platforms appeared, but they barely deterred her as she moved past every blaster just as they went off. Here it comes.
“Whoa, you really like swinging that thing around, huh?”
There it is.
Frisk stopped, listening to his spiel that was mostly aimed at Chara, trying to plead with her to spare him. This was one of the only parts she really despised. He wasn’t supposed to be talking with Chara. This was their moment; he should be paying attention to her, not Chara.
As usual, she refused his offer and took another swipe at him, and despite knowing he was going to avoid it anyways, she still gave it her all, because he deserved nothing less. The rest of the fight went as it usually did, though this time she was determined to not get hit once throughout this attempt. It only felt right, and so far, she was succeeding.
Before long, they were at the finale. Frisk readied herself for the attack, and despite all of Papyrus’ warnings and threats, she went in with a smile on her face, her heavily lidded eyes still so concentrated on his figure. Thrown from wall to wall and shot through loops, she successfully avoided each and every bone, blast, and karmic retribution he tried to spear through her body. Sweat dripped down from her face, but she didn’t stop despite the aching of her body. Papyrus himself looked as if he had taken quite the beating, even if it was more of a mental one than the physical kind. With one last wave of his hand, he slammed her into the wall, ready to launch the special attack he’d been warning her about, despite knowing that she already knew what it was. However, he wasn’t prepared from the sudden break from the rhythm as Frisk failed to stop to listen to his usual chatter about his special attack. Instead, she continued to run straight at him, and before he could even get the chance to use a short cut, she hand him tackled to the ground, a knife at his cervical vertebrae. He grunted in surprise, immediately moving to grab her, but she quickly took hold of both hands, lined them up, and speared through them with her knife and pinned them to the ground. Red liquid poured from his shaking hands, leaking from his shaking metacarpals. He cried out in pain, struggling to buck her off, but with her straddling his pelvis, she wouldn’t let him. Not when they were so close.
“Kid, what the fuck do you think you’r- gah!” Papyrus was cut off when he felt cold fingers duck under his hoodie skim around his lumbar vertebrae. Frisk smiled giddily down at her prize, watching him look up at her with a newfound terror in his sockets, something she had yet to see before. The tips of her fingers gently rubbed along the discs of his spine, making him twitch and squirm at having someone touch such a sensitive part of his frame. She wanted to know everything about him, and the more physical aspects certainly were no exception. Curious hands began to explore along his sternum and ribs, mapping out his entire frame as jagged and broken nails scraped along the bone, causing him to hiss at the sharp, prickling feeling. Her hands roughly felt every inch of his upper body, tugging at various bones to see what made him yelp and what made him grunt in pain. It seemed that the discs of his vertebrae were most sensitive, especially around his neck. Several times he tried to tell her off or intimidate her, but his methods fell apart when his speech became stuttered whenever she yanked at a rung of his spine. Her hands soon came to his skull, and his expression grew even more wary, but it wasn’t quite what she was looking for. She enjoyed listening to him groan in slight pain as her fingers hooked through his mandible and slid into his sockets to feel around his magic-filled cranium. As hard as he tried to force her off, he was just too weak. It wasn’t long before she was satisfied; she slumped against his ribcage, closing her eyes for a moment to just dream of another time where she would have this skeleton all to herself. Her hand grazed his neck as she did so, playing with the sensitive rungs as if she was a lover rather than the killer he knew her as.
However, all good things must come to an end. Frisk straightened up her posture, sitting up and taking hold of the knife handle and ripping it out. “You look just like Gaster now,” she laughed, referring to the new holes in his hand. He could only cry out in pain as he lay limp on the tile ground. Given up, has he? Cute. Without hesitation, she slashed the sharp blade across the humorist’s cervical vertebrae, slicing through bone with ease and disconnecting his skull from the rest of his body. Liquid determination spewed from the wound, splattering all over Frisk as she daintily picked up the severed head, looking him in the sockets. Papyrus’ sockets seemed to shrink in shock, mandible left hanging in silent horror, before he being cut off by a deranged giggle. That look was everything she’d ever wanted to see. It filled her with a high words could not describe. She closed her eyes, pressing her forehead against his frontal bone in silent euphoria at this moment. She let her breathing slow as she just wanted to stay like this forever. Just her and the skeleton, here together once again.
She soon pulled away, watching him with heavily lidded eyes that only portrayed a mad devotion. “Happy fiftieth!” Frisk grinned. “This was rather fun, humorist. Let’s play again!”
Papyrus’ could find anything to say, his body already dusting below the human’s own smaller frame. Frisk stood up, taking the skull and planting a firm kiss atop his frontal bone. With little hesitation, she raised it above her head and smashed it into the ground, watching it turn to dust immediately. She watched the dust settle, wiping away some of the speckles of red that had been sprayed on her face and licking her stained knife clean.
She then loaded her save file.
Papyrus stood there, silent as Frisk approached him once again, unable to say anything for once as they faced each other. The human smiled madly at the monster, who remained without sound. He just stared, letting the cigarette drop from his mouth and onto the ground.
For once, he didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know what to do but just stare.

Bound Together Part 37
Utadukeeus:
"Alph!" Undyne mustered whatever strength she had to get up and make her way to the doctor. "Are you okay!?"
Skywardsister:
"Undyne?" The lizard stuttered and looked up at her partner, stunned.
"Last thing I saw was a kid..." She motioned weakly towards the door with her hand. "He said that his mother was hurt... opened the door..."
Utadukeeus:
"That bastard...." Undyne growled, looking at what he did to her lover. "He'll regret this...."
Skywardsister:
"I was scared b-because I didn't recognize him, so I tried to keep the door locked. I didn't realize he could override them..." She held her head as she sat up in the chair, disoriented.
Utadukeeus:
"At least you didn't fall for it." Undyne said. "Shame he broke in anyway...."
Skywardsister:
"It was too suspicious... I mean, who goes to the royal scientist to help their mother to their feet when there's royal guards way stronger than me?" She asked, acknowledging the blunt absurdity of the situation.
Utadukeeus:
Undyne snickered. "Seriously? How stupid!"
Skywardsister:
Kaizer willed up the strength he had to stand and check on Charabdyss as Undyne checked on
Alphys. He trudged over to the crib and rested his arms on the edge of the wooden frame, leaning over and looking down at the infant.
Utadukeeus:
The little baby sniffled and opened his yellow eyes. Now with a slight red from all the crying. "Shhhh..." He slowly reached down and picked the baby up, gently rocking him. "Don't worry, little guy..." he murmured. "I'm here...."
Skywardsister:
"Did they tase you too?" Alphys asked, glancing around her girlfriend to see if there were any injuries visible. She noticed the skeleton by the crib.
"Oh, K-Kaizer!"
Utadukeeus:
"It's okay..." Kaizer said. "He's sleeping...."
Skywardsister:
Alphys relaxed a bit.
"G-good. They didn't touch him... how are you two? Did they hurt you, too?"
Utadukeeus:
"They got me a bit, caught me off guard." Kaizer said. "Didn't hurt me as bad as you two, though..."
Skywardsister:
"Yeah," Undyne sat in another chair nearby, feeling her head pound. She, too, felt disoriented after.
Utadukeeus:
"I've got a couple crabapples if you guys need it." Kaizer said. "They're not the best at healing, but they're something."
Skywardsister:
"I have other things to heal us here, if you guys need," Alphys offered her girlfriend and the skeleton.
Utadukeeus:
"Thanks Alphys...." Kaizer said. He handed the baby over to Undyne.
Skywardsister:
Alphys went to the second floor of the lab to retrieve healing items for them, searching in
a small portable fridge and a few boxes for non-perishables that could help heal fast.
Utadukeeus:
Charabdyss woke up in Undyne's arms and reached up to hug her. He whimpered a little bit.
Skywardsister:
She smiled at the baby and hugged him gently.
"It'll be okay," She murmured to him, but also to herself.
Utadukeeus:
Charabdyss nuzzled Undyne and hugged her gently.
Skywardsister:
Alphys returned shortly carrying a pile of varying snacks and foods for them to heal
themselves with. She held bags of popato chisps, popsicles, nice cream, ramen, and other consumables as she made her way back to the first floor and approached Undyne and Kaizer.
Utadukeeus:
As soon as she made her way into the room, Charabdyss got excited and started reaching for the scientist from Undyne's arms.
Alphys put the food all on a table for everyone to choose what they want.
Skywardsister:
"Aw, now look who's all excited to see Mama Alphy," Undyne chuckled, handing Charabdyss
over into Alphys' arms.
Utadukeeus:
The little baby hugged Alphys gently as well and started giggling as soon as he saw her.
"He really likes ya." Undyne smiled.
Skywardsister:
"Hehe, yeah, he does," She giggled, holding up the baby to look at him.
He took her glasses off her nose and flailed his arm around, threatening to drop them, but Alphys
had spare pairs of glasses around, and didn't worry.
Utadukeeus:
He put them back on realizing that Alphys wasn't worried at all. He nuzzled her just like he did Undyne.
Skywardsister:
They still needed to heal, so Alphys set him back down into his crib and returned to the
table of foods.
"Alright, pick whatever you guys want," She said, inviting them over. Alphys opened herself a bag
of popato chisps, and Undyne went to make herself some ramen noodles.''
Utadukeeus:
Kaizer took a bag of chisps for himself and sat down. His phone went off with another voice mail.
"Hey dad...." a female voice said on speaker. "It's been a while...."
Skywardsister:
Alphys and Undyne turned, hearing the message begin to play.
Kaizer held the phone for a moment before looking up and excusing himself to listen alone.
The others nodded and went about their business, giving him privacy.
Utadukeeus:
"So Papyrus and I went out on another date." Costantia said. "He's been great. Showing me all the neat puzzles he built and his cool room. He's a great guy, dad. I think you'd love him." She sighed. "I'm sure you're busy as usual but....I love you dad. It gets lonely when you're not around...."
Skywardsister:
He listened intently until the message ceased. He considered calling her up in this time he had.
He keyed in her number to call, thinking about the two ghosts that had escaped the lab.
With Limbo in the mix, everything was so much more complicated.
Utadukeeus:
He sighed and put his phone in his coat pocket. He'd call her later. He still had to check on Undyne and Alphys.
Skywardsister:
By now, their health was back up to normal thanks to the food Alphys had
provided. They were holding Charabdyss again.
"Hey, what should we do about those ghosts?" Alphys asked, exhaustion in her voice.
"We just spent all that time trying to capture them... it all was for nothing."
Utadukeeus:
"I have no idea...." Undyne muttered. "I should have been with you the while time!" She clenched her fists. "None of this would have ever happened!"
Skywardsister:
"It's not your fault," Alphys stuttered, flustered. "It wasn't anybody's fault! I need to amp up my tech, though..." She admitted. "With someone like that, they could probably infiltrate the most secure structures."
Utadukeeus:
"They did...." Undyne said. "Honestly, your lab is probably the most secure place in the Underground...."
Skywardsister:
"I can improve it," Alphys thought out loud. "I can... I can try to upgrade it's security... give it more surrounding cameras, upgrade Mettaton's weapons arsenal..."
Utadukeeus:
"All great ideas." Undyne said. "I'm honestly just glad they didn't touch our baby...."
Skywardsister:
"I'll call up Mettaton right now," Alphys had her phone in hand, calling the robot. "He's probably between filming shows..." The phone rang a few times before the fabulous bot picked up the line.
"Alphys, dalrling! How are you, dear?" He answered, bubbly as per usual.
Utadukeeus:
"It's been a while since we last talked." He went on. "We really should meet up sometime and catch up."
Skywardsister:
"Mettaton, are you free to come to the lab soon?" Alphys asked suddenly and bluntly,
trying to get to the root of the conversation.
"What? Oh, sure, darling, is there something wrong?" He asked, sounding surprised.
Utadukeeus:
"Y-yes...very wrong...." Alphys said. "I'll explain when you're here...."
Skywardsister:
"I-I'll be right there," Mettaton hung up quickly, hurrying out of MTT Resort towards the lab.
'What could have happened while I was gone?' He thought, alarmed.
Utadukeeus:
"So what do you plan on giving him?" Undyne asked.
"Well you see, his main fighting form is still a prototype and isn't actually ready for real action..." Alphys said. "I call it Mettaton Neo. I plan on upgrading it, making it better...."
Skywardsister:
"That already sounds awesome," Undyne replied.
At that moment, Mettaton arrived at the door and requested entry, to which Alphys let him in.
Utadukeeus:
The robot walked in to see Alphys cradling an infant he had never seen before. It looked up curiously at the robot as it hugged Alphys.
Skywardsister:
He stared at it, dumbfounded.
"Alphys, darling, how did you and Undyne have a baby?"
"Mettaton, you've missed out on a lot lately, and it's too much to explain right now. We've gotta
get to work on one of your forms."
Utadukeeus:
The baby started to fall asleep and Alphys put him back in his crib. "Now let's get to work...." she said as she turned to the robot.
Skywardsister:
"What exactly do you have in mind, darling?" Mettaton asked.
"Well," Alphys pulled out blueprints from a desk drawer and laid them out on a table.
"Today, someone infiltrated the lab, overriding my door locks," She explained. "He tased me.
Since he could have done anything, and I'm worried about this place, I'd like to make you
stronger and have more weapons."
Utadukeeus:
"My goodness, are you alright!?" Mettaton was deeply concerned for the scientist. "Do you need an ointment? Something to help cover the wound?"
Skywardsister:
"I'm fine, I have some aloe I can put on the spot when I have the time," Alphys said absentmindedly.
"We need to upgrade you for the sake of safety, though. I'm not strong or fast enough to defend
myself effectively, and that's sort of where you enter the situation."
Utadukeeus:
"Of course, darling~!" Mettaton hugged her from behind. "Anything for you!"
Skywardsister:
"I've been thinking about giving you a more advanced body with different types of armaments than before," Alphys told him. "Something more effective. Maybe you should be able to connect up to the security system itself..." She thought out loud.
Utadukeeus:
"Do whatever it takes, Alphys." Mettaton smiled. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect my mo-creator."
'Did he just call me mom!?' Alphys thought to herself.
Skywardsister:
She chuckled, embarrassed. "Mettaton, you existed before this body did! I'm not your mom!" She laughed.
Utadukeeus:
The machine blushed and hid his face in the palms of his hands.
Skywardsister:
"C'mon, how can you be embarrassed? You're the star here!" She teased the machine.
Utadukeeus:
"Humph!" Mettaton crossed his arms and scrunched his face. Suddenly, he grew a menacing smile. "You know Alphys. There's this one anime I adore...."
Skywardsister:
Her face changed. "What? I thought you hated anime," She replied, unsure
of what to make of the expression he held.
Utadukeeus:
"Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2..." His grin grew wide.
Skywardsister:
The short scientist's face turned as red as a Carolina Reaper.
"WHYYYYYYY?" She practically yelled, stomping a foot. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?"
Utadukeeus:
"I just love everything about it." Mettaton went on. "The animation, the story, the characters. Everything..."
Skywardsister:
"If you don't stop, I'll never be able to upgrade you, so I'll never be safe from those
gang members again," Alphys said bluntly, unamused by Mettaton's devilish antics.
She wouldn't have this under her roof.
Utadukeeus:
"You and I are gonna sit down together and watch some good anime!" She huffed. "See how good your precious favorite is then..."
Skywardsister:
"Oh, please, Alphy," Mettaton replied.
Utadukeeus:
"Please nothing!" Alphys waved an arm. "Your mom's gonna teach you what real anime is."
Skywardsister:
"Alphy, that's really not what's important right now," Undyne chuckled, shaking her head at the silly argument.
"In all seriousness, Mettaton, it's imperative that we upgrade you as soon as possible."
Utadukeeus:
"Yes, of course, darling." Mettaton said. "Whatever you need."
Skywardsister:
"Alright," She seemed ready to work already, even though she had been harmed not so long ago.
Utadukeeus:
"Are you ready, Mettaton?" Alphys asked. The robot nodded his head. "Alright, let's begin."
"Do you guys need me for anything?" Kaizer asked. "Otherwise, I'm gonna check on my daughter."
Skywardsister:
"No, but thanks, Kaizer," Alphys smiled at the skeleton. "For coming to help."
Utadukeeus:
He nodded his head and disappeared. Going out to make sure Costantia was safe from those outlaws.
Skywardsister:
Undyne sat in a chair a little ways away, wanting to remain with Alphys in the lab.
She listened absentmindedly, just glad that thug was gone. Alphys began to show
Mettaton specific plans on the blueprints; parts of arm-cannons, where he could link up with
the security system, etc.
Utadukeeus:
"So I gotta question..." Undyne raised an arm. "How are ya gonna build this all in? It seems like a lot."
Skywardsister:
"Uhh..." Alphys stood for a moment.
"It'll be made of carbon-fiber, which means it'll be flexible. I'll make it fold-able."
Utadukeeus:
"Sorry if I'm butting in or something..." Undyne shrugged. "I just don't get all this science mumbo jumbo."
Skywardsister:
"No, it's fine," Alphys smiled. She was glad that she was trying to understand as well.
"It's great that you're trying to understand! Anyway, the fact that it'd be carbon-fiber would make it
flexible and light-weight too. It would be really convenient."
Utadukeeus:
"Kind of crazy how you can fit all that into him." Undyne said. "Pretty cool, actually..."
Skywardsister:
"Yeah, it is," Alphys was looking at the blueprint design.
"The cannon will fit into his forearm here like this," She showed her girlfriend and the robot.
"A metal slat will slid open and it will unfold out."
Utadukeeus:
"COOL!" Undyne smiled. "Like the robots in that one anime!"
"That wasn't an anime...." Alphys giggled.
"It wasn't?" Undyne raised an eyebrow.
Skywardsister:
Mettaton chuckled and shook his head.
"Come on, Undyne, you should know these things by now," He said jokingly.
Utadukeeus:
"Be quiet!" Undyne snapped. "It might not be anime, but it's still real. Right Alph?"
Skywardsister:
"Right," Alphys reassured her.
"Anyway, there's more than just this cannon." She pointed to another part of her image
of Mettaton Neo. "I'd like to give you rockets to fly."
Utadukeeus:
"Oh my!" Mettaton gasped. "I sure hope I don't crash into the ceiling above...."
Skywardsister:
"What do you mean? You already flew before, as a ghost," Alphys reasoned.
"It should almost feel natural to you by now. It'll take a bit getting used to, but you'll do
fine."
Utadukeeus:
"You can make the rockets function like that?" Mettaton asked. "How?"
Skywardsister:
"When you first bonded with this body, wasn't there a time when you had to
get acclimated to the various functions I had installed? It'll be a bit like that,"
Alphys reassured him. "It won't be bad. If you can control what that body does, you'll
be able to control the rockets."
Utadukeeus:
Mettaton nodded his head. Remembering to have faith in the doctor. She had done many great things; more complicated than this.
Skywardsister:
"Anyway, is there anything you two can think of that I should install as well?"
She asked them, wondering if they had additional ideas for the body.
Skywardsister:
"Anyway, is there anything you two can think of that I should install as well?"
She asked them, wondering if they had additional ideas for the body. Utadukeeus: "How about super strength!" Undyne suggested. "He can throw boulders at his enemies. Or laser eyes! Yeah!"
Skywardsister:
"I don't know about those," Alphys frowned, trying to think up a way to fulfill those suggestions.
"But I can install cameras and speakers into him to allow me to see and hear what he sees while he's
out."
Utadukeeus:
"That honestly sounds more useful....and practical..." Mettaton muttered.
Skywardsister:
Alphys paced around the table, trying to come up with more tech to
make Mettaton more efficient and safe. Utadukeeus: Kaizer made his way back home. Slowly opening the door, he saw Costantia nuzzling with Papyrus as they watched TV together. Skywardsister: He felt bad for not speaking with her for a long while, but he wasn't going to interrupt this moment now. He would let them have their time together, then address his daughter after. Utadukeeus: He came inside the house and went into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water. He smiled at the two as they watched more of Mettaton's movies together. Skywardsister: 'That's nice,' He thought to himself. 'Better leave them alone for now.' Utadukeeus: "Thanks for spending the night with me, Pappy...." Costantia muttered. "It gets.....really lonely out here. All I have is dad and he's always out on the job. Even when he comes home, he spends very little time here and goes back out again..." Skywardsister: Kaizer caught her words and listened sadly, not sure of what to do. Utadukeeus: He wanted to tell her why he was so busy all the time. But he knew he couldn't tell her. She shouldn't know what he sees and deals with every day. Some things were best kept hidden. Skywardsister: 'And some things are best left forgotten,' He thought to himself, wishing he had had more time with his daughter. Utadukeeus: While it was sad to see his daughter be so lonely, he knew it was best for her to have Papyrus as company. The tall skeleton could brighten anyone's day. Skywardsister: 'But I really need to talk to her,' He reinforced. Utadukeeus: He waited until the movie ended and Papyrus fell asleep to come into the room. She was flipping through channels on her remote. Skywardsister: She looked up in surprise to see her father standing there. He hadn't made a sound. Utadukeeus: "Hey..." he muttered as he sat down in the sofa beside her. "How was your night with him?" Skywardsister: "Good," Costantia answered, still looking at the television screen, holding the remote. Utadukeeus: "I might be getting a raise this month..." Kaizer said. "Get you a better tv..." Skywardsister: "Wow, you get raises? Didn't know that was possible," Costantia commented. Utadukeeus: "Helps that I work for the King, directly..." Kaizer sighed. "Yup....things are starting to look good. So....how are you doing?" Skywardsister: "I mean, it's great being with Papyrus a lot," She admitted, looking at her father finally. "What have you been doing?" Utadukeeus: "God...I wish I could tell you..." he sighed. "But-" "It's classified...." she sighed. "I'm sorry..." he said. Skywardsister: He stood there for a moment, thinking about the monster who released Sommers and Gacy from their containment. Utadukeeus: "You know what?" He said. "You promise not to tell anyone?" Skywardsister: "Uh, sure," Costantia wondered what he was going to say. Was it something about his job? Utadukeeus: "You know my job, right?" he asked. "You know what I do for a living?" Skywardsister: "Sort of?" Costantia sounded like she was questioning it. "I know you work for the king, but that's about it. I don't know much else, though." Utadukeeus: "Have you heard of the Royal Espionage?" he asked. Skywardsister: "The...? No, I haven't," It dawned on her. "What is it? Some kind of organization?" Utadukeeus: "Yeah....like the Sentries and the Guard." Kaizer said. "Except, they're more like spies, or we are...." Skywardsister: "Oh, so you've been a spy for years? That's why I haven't talked to you much?" It came out more bluntly than she expected, and she said a quiet apology. Utadukeeus: "It still doesn't excuse me from not talking to you as much as I should..." Kaizer said. Skywardsister: "I didn't mean to sound like that," The young skeleton admitted. "I'm sorry. I know your job is probably one of the hardest ones around." Utadukeeus: "It is, but I don't mind..." He shrugged. "Keeps you safe..." Skywardsister: She gave a half-smile. "So, what did you wanna tell me? Something about the job?" Utadukeeus: "Yeah, there was something that went wrong..." he said. "Something I'm worried about..." He sat back down again. Skywardsister: "So what are you going to do?" She asked, mulling over the information he dumped. Utadukeeus: "I'm gonna find them and stop them before they hurt anyone else..." He said. "It's risky, it'll be me vs the three of them...." Skywardsister: "Isn't there anybody else as capable of fighting as you who can help?" She asked, concerned. "Dad, that's a death-wish." Utadukeeus: "I've got other members on my team...." Kaizer said. "But I've got them on other missions." Skywardsister: His daughter exhaled, finally processing everything. "You shouldn't have to do it alone," She stated plainly. "That's too dangerous for one person, even if they're as strong or as skilled as you." Utadukeeus: "Don't give your old man enough credit." Kaizer chuckled. "I've been in sticky situations before." Skywardsister: "I just said 'as strong or as skilled as you.' How much credit do you need?" She laughed. "I know you have, but that doesn't mean this couldn't be different." Utadukeeus: "Nope, not as skilled as me." Kaizer laughed. "There's a reason why I'm the leader. But yeah, I just don't know who could back me up...." Skywardsister: She sighed and put her head in her hands. He explained the situation, but nothing helped support his problem. Utadukeeus: "Hopefully Undyne can help me, but she'll be all I have." Kaizer sighed. Skywardsister: "When are you going to do it?" She questioned. Utadukeeus: "As soon as possible." Kaizer shrugged. "I want to get some sleep as soon as possible. Can't really do that, knowing they're out there...." Skywardsister: Meanwhile, Alphys got to work, searching around the lab for the supplies she might have already had for the project. Utadukeeus: "I think I have a chip to help you gain access to security." she muttered. Skywardsister: She searched around, walking upstairs to the second floor to find it. Utadukeeus: She managed to find the blueprints for the device. She came back downstairs and went to work. Skywardsister: "Mettaton, would you prefer to remain outside the body as I work?" she asked, just before beginning her work process. "You can always watch from a distance." Utadukeeus: "Hmm.." the robot never likes going through these out of body experiences. But he had to, to help the doctor. He sighed and did as he was asked. Leaving his robotic body. Skywardsister: "S-sorry, it's just, I don't want you to feel pain or anything while I'm doing this," She apologized to the ghost. Utadukeeus: "It's fine, darling." Mettaton waved it off. "I'd do anything for you. After all, you gave me my life." Skywardsister: "You didn't need the body to be a star," Alphys waved off the remark quickly. "You have your talents without it." Utadukeeus: "But it was your talents that got me here." Mettaton insisted. "Really, I owe you everything." Skywardsister: She had no response, so she blushed and worked. Utadukeeus: After some time, the machine had finished building the upgrade she uploaded into there. Carefully taking it out, she went to work on the robot body. Skywardsister: She laid the body on a table and cut open a plate in the arm to fit one of the new mechanisms. Utadukeeus: "So cool...." Undyne muttered from behind Alphys. She watched over the doctor's shoulder. Skywardsister: "C-cool?" She stuttered, blushing while she worked. She put the cutter down and looked back at her diagram, showing the parts she would install. Utadukeeus: "Yeah." Undyne said. "You can just put these things on and you make it look so easy. You are friggin cool!" Skywardsister: "Th-thank you," She stuttered. She pulled up metal parts she had fashioned in the shapes of the interlocking parts for the arm cannon and placed them above the opening in the arm, checking to see how they'd fit. Utadukeeus: "I wonder if you can do something like that with my armor..." Undyne rested a finger on her chin. "What if you can make giant swords come out of my armor!?" She gasped starry eyed. Skywardsister: "M-m-maybe," Alphys blushed more, resting the metal parts inside the hole for a moment. Utadukeeus: "Maybe!?" Undyne gasped. "You could!? You're the best, Alph!" Skywardsister: She took out the metal and set it aside, pulling out a handful of screws and a screwdriver to put it together. Utadukeeus: "So while Mettaton is around guarding you, I'm guarding the baby, right?" Undyne asked. Skywardsister: "Yeah," Alphys nodded. She began to align the pieces on the table and began to screw the parts together. Utadukeeus: "Alright." Undyne knelt down and gave the scientist a little kiss on the cheek. Skywardsister: Alphys's face flushed red, and the ghost by them chuckled. "Darling, she'll never finish at this point," He laughed. Utadukeeus: "Right." Undyne rubbed the back of her neck, awkwardly. "Sorry!" She gave a toothy grin. Skywardsister: They laughed. Alphys, still burning red, continued her work like nothing happened. Utadukeeus: "Want a water, Alph?" Undyne asked as she made her way to the fridge. Skywardsister: "N-no thanks," She shook her head. "I don't wanna spill," She gestured to the machine on the table before her, which sprawled out across the flat surface. Utadukeeus: She was getting finished on adding the upgrade to the machine. "My my, Alphys." Mettaton looked over. "You really outdone yourself, this time." Skywardsister: "Nah," She shook her head. "Just... trying to do good work." Utadukeeus: "Well, if this will help me protect my dearest Alphy." he said. "It's worth it." Skywardsister: "Oh, please," She shook her head, blushing again. "Mettaton, c'mon. Plus, that wasn't all of it. I still have the rockets and whatnot." Utadukeeus: "I forgot about the rockets!" Undyne choked. "That's so awesome!" Skywardsister: "It'll take a while," Alphys sighed. "I just have to figure out how it'd be charged up, renewed, and attached to the body." Utadukeeus: "And not blow up the Underground..." Mettaton added. Skywardsister: "Ye of little faith!" She mock-gasped. "More like: to calculate how well they'd keep you in the air, to figure out how heavy your body would be for it, to figure out where they should go." Utadukeeus: "Alright..." Mettaton said. Back in the Ruins, everyone got ready for bed and continued to watch TV together. Frisk had the wonderful idea to give everyone sleeping bags and they'd all have a sleepover downstairs. Skywardsister: Frisk came down the stairs in their pajamas dragging their slug-like sleeping back behind their feet. Utadukeeus: "Hey Frisk." Habriel said, back on the couch. Everyone was watching one of Mettaton's shows. Skywardsister: They dragged the sleeping back which was a bit heavy for them until they reached the sofa, let it lie on the ground, and plopped themself on the couch beside their brother. Utadukeeus: Habriel wrapped an arm around them as they sat together. Frisk hugged him gently as they watched tv. Skywardsister: "Just a few more episodes, then we'll go to bed," Toriel reminded them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alphys screwed the last piece together and the cannon was set. She carefully placed it inside the arm crevice and began to screw it to the inside of the arm itself, beginning to sweat. Utadukeeus: "Wait, I thought we were sleeping down here..." Frisk said. Skywardsister: "I mean, we'll go to sleep here," Toriel corrected herself. Utadukeeus: "Oh okay..." Frisk said. They didn't want to sleep alone, tonight. Skywardsister: The parts clicked perfectly into place in the arm, and she unfolded and folded it to test the mobility. "Alright..." She mumbled to herself. Utadukeeus: "Excellent!" Mettaton clapped his ghostly hands. "You did wonderful, Alphy!" Skywardsister: "Gotta start the next part..." She muttered aloud. Utadukeeus: "Alphys, darling! Get some rest!" Mettaton insisted. "You've worked on this for a while." Skywardsister: She blinked and stared at the body on the table, then at Mettaton's ghost. She noticed Undyne was drooping in her seat. Utadukeeus: "Get some sleep, Alph." Mettaton said. "I won't let anyone hurt you, even without my body." Skywardsister: She yawned and looked over to her girlfriend sleeping in the chair. "What about Undyne?" She asked. Utadukeeus: "I'll wake her up if things get really bad." Mettaton said. "No one would want to deal with a grumpy Undyne." Skywardsister: "True," Alphys stood up weakly, and started to walk towards the stairs to go up to her bed. She glanced back at the body on the table, then at Mettaton, concerned. "What if someone destroys your body?" She asked. Utadukeeus: "I'll live until a new one comes." Mettaton said. "Don't worry about me. Get some rest." Skywardsister: She nodded, smiling, and retired to the upstairs, where she barely got ready for bed before she fell onto the soft mattress and was out cold. Utadukeeus: Back in the Ruins, Toriel had shut off the tv and everyone was asleep together. None of them could have possibly slept alone that night. Skywardsister: Frisk's sleeping bag lay right beside the couch long-ways. Toriel slept near them, and Habriel near her. Utadukeeus: Marion slept right next to Habriel. She was facing directly at him the whole night. She didn't want him out of her sights before falling asleep. Skywardsister: After the Sommers and Gacy fiasco, she was comforted by the sight of her resting family. Utadukeeus: Habriel that night simply hoped he would fall asleep. He didn't care if he had even the worst nightmares. He just didn't want to think about the jesters. Skywardsister: He lay on his back, and he turned his head side to side, looking at those around him. On one side, he saw his lover, peaceful. The other, he saw Frisk getting consumed by their heat-trapping sleeping bag, and they sweat profusely. Only their nose, eyes, and bangs could be seen through the puffy opening of the suffocating cocoon. Utadukeeus: He adjusted it slightly, making it easier for them to breathe. He wanted someone to sleep comfortably tonight. Skywardsister: Now that their mouth had some air too, they mouthed the words 'thank you' to him. Utadukeeus: He smiled and turned his head to the side. Looking up at the ceiling. There was Seraph. Motioning for him to get up. Skywardsister: Habriel was unamused. He stared at the specter straight-faced, his brows furrowed in tired frustration. This was no time for whatever Seraph was planning. Utadukeeus: "Get up." Seraph insisted. "It's important." Skywardsister: Habriel scowled and grunted at him. He had just settled down. Utadukeeus: "Get up!" Seraph hissed. "A human is on their way!" Skywardsister: Habriel shot up silenlty, staring at Seraph. "What do you mean, 'a human is on their way?'" He hissed. Utadukeeus: "A human child fell through the hole and are badly injured." Seraph growled. "So unless you want your demon to kill them, I suggest you get to them first." Skywardsister: He sat up and stood silently, tip-toeing around his family until he got towards the door. He had to see this. Utadukeeus: Making his way out of the door, he saw that his demon was no longer right out the front door.

Act 4: Education and Moral Standards, Chapter 4
Alright this took like over a month, but here we are finally. Hope this is all good, school year has started again which means I might be more active with chapters. Sounds crazy I know but I find it much harder to be productive during holidays. Anyway hope the drama in this helps you if you’re bored from normal daily life stuff. This one gets a little painful. Anyway the next chapter will be the end of the act which will be good to get over with. Then we’ll move on to a mini-act, a little fun one. Anyway hope you’re all having a time. Stay safe out there.
FIRST, PREVIOUS, NEXT, INFO
SCI As it kept becoming apparent to Sci, traversing a school without much direction wasn’t quite as easy as he’d first hoped. At first, he’d returned to outside the room where they met Mr Breve, but as expected, the other two were not there. Going over the list in his head of rooms that Asgore’s teachers resided in, he wandered the different halls and levels, following labels on doors to see if he could possibly be going in the right direction and while they didn’t help much, using the vague list in his head and his watch, he could only try and predict where to go. ‘’Alright well, if Art is done and they haven’t been to Home Eco yet… perhaps it’s… Science? But where’s the Science Wing? I really wish there was a damn map around here’’. As he spoke to himself, he kept on walking, starting to be carried away by his train of thought, the tracks leading him to different ways he could get out of his predicament. Unfortunately for him his thoughts started to cloud his awareness and it wasn’t long before he felt a small force impact the front of him. Looking down the skeleton found that a small, light haired human girl in a sweater had just ran into him, the impact causing her to fall over backwards. Listening to her groans of pain for long enough, he offered her his hand, ‘’Hey kid, sorry about that, didn’t see you there. You alright?’’ The girl looked up at him with small smile as she took his hand, her voice soft and quiet, ‘’N-no that’s fine, my bad. Thanks, sorry for bothering you sir’’. ‘’Don’t sweat it, also please don’t call me sir, you’re making me sound old.’’ ‘’Sorry mister, won’t do it again… I think I n-need to get going now, sorry again.’’ Sci sighed at her change of title not finding it that much better, but he decided to live with it. For a moment he was content with just that, giving her a wave and a ‘’So long’’, before a realisation came to him. ‘’Wait! Can I ask you a quick question? Where’s the Science Wing?’’ Already having skipped half way down the hall, it gave her a small surprise to have to turn around to the monster, ‘’Oh lost? Sorry I should’ve asked being interviews and all’’, she gave a small apologetic bow that the skeleton just could not understand, she didn’t do anything wrong. ‘’The Science Wing is the first stairs behind you, go down and then to your right, then find the second left down the hall, that should take you to what you’re looking for.’’ Sci went over those direction multiple times in his head in quick succession to make sure with complete certainty he wouldn’t forget. Just as he was about to say goodbye to the girl, allowing her to go on her way, another small human came from behind him and shoved him to the side to run past him, the first thing he couldn’t help noting was the cowboy-like garments on the female human. ‘’Come on Hope, we ain’t got time, she’s coming this way at this moment.’’, the cowgirl said with a hurried tone, grabbing the first human’s hand while simultaneously pulling her along. Without needing any confirmation, Hope nodded and started running along with her friend, quickly looking back at Sci, ‘’See you later Mr Skeleton, nice m-meeting you’’. He watched helplessly as they ran around a corner at the end of the hall, his face just filled with confusion at the events that had transpired in front of him. Just when he thought that all of that was the last of what he had seen, loud footsteps that sounded like heeled shoes came from behind him, turning around to see a tired, furious looking old woman, angrily striding over towards him. ‘’Excuse me, have a seen a girl wearing a green sweater or another absolute rat of a child wearing a cowboy costume?!’’, her voice was stern, and she went straight to the point, impatiently waiting for the monster to answer. ‘’Oh uh yeah, they went somewhere past me? Are you alright chasing after them, should I be worried?’’, he figured the truth was the best answer as he gave his classic smile and shrug, hoping that would be enough to get him out of whatever mess he could potentially be caught up in. ‘’Just that first child is under my care, the foolish girl seems be caught up with that other one, disobeying me because of a bad influence, on today of all days. But don’t worry, when I catch up to either of them, there will be hell to pay!’’. With those last words, without any sort of farewell, she stormed off down the hall in the direction Sci pointed, leaving him finally in peace, wondering what on earth he had just dodged him. It took a little bit until he finally found Alphys sitting outside one of the classrooms that he saw on the map, alone she sat on a wooden chair staring at her hands, he couldn’t help but feel he was about to interrupt her deep thoughts. Sci moved over and sat down quietly next to her on a similar empty chair. For a whole minute he just watched her toil over something in her head, even muttering a few words under her breath that he couldn’t pick up, concern starting to grow that maybe she wasn’t doing so good. Then Alphys’ gaze came across the skeleton and with a sudden look of shock, she stopped what she was doing and just stared at him wide eyed, ‘’Sci, s-sorry I umm… g-glad you’re back, h-how are y-you now? Feeling better?’’ ‘’Oh you know me Al, can’t keep me down for long, I’m real good,’’ he gave her a wink and an enthusiastic thumbs up, ‘’Butt what about you? You seem quite nervous’’. The lizard monster winced, ‘’Oh j-just these interviews… the t-teachers here a-are crazy, the art t-teacher spent a m-mere two m-minutes showing m-me Asgore’s stuff b-before sh-showing me all h-her ‘top student’ p-pieces.’’ His shrug was almost a little dismissive, ‘’Is that really so bad? I mean they would’ve been good pieces, right? I feel like it could’ve been worse.’’ ‘’N-no, i-it’s not the quality, b-but the quantity, t-the amount of time…’’ ‘’Oh dear.’’ ‘’N-not only her c-current top students, th-there was work f-from f-former students, art from l-like ten y-years ago, back i-in her o-original universe… and w-worst of all, when i-it was all o-over it was twenty l-later than the scheduled time I w-was meant t-to be done… I g-got so many scary l-looks from th-the other p-parents as I l-left the room.’’ The skeleton snickered and covered his mouth, ‘’Well Al, I’m at least certain that they’ll end up finding the same painful experience as you. To focused with their own strife to worry about you. Was that all it was?’’ Alphys gave another slightly pained expression, ‘’S-she was the w-worst, b-but there was also a c-couple of the o-other teachers, the history one w-was painfully s-slow, he w-went into d-detail on everything th-they had been l-learning. The gym t-teacher was full on, s-scary, aggressive and j-just mean, he k-kept on critiquing me o-on posture and… my uh… physical mass.’’ Those last two words having an annoyed and hurt edge to them. ‘’A-at l-least the maths t-teacher was relatively normal, c-could get on w-with her well’’. He nodded at her, feeling some minor relief he wasn’t there but at the same time he felt bad she had to deal with all alone, he decided to focus on what the actual goal was. ‘’So what about Asgore’s scores or whatever…. What do the teachers think of him?’’ ‘’Oh w-well he d-does really w-well in History and Ph-physical education, art h-he d-does fine, b-but maths i-is a little bit of a struggle f-for him.’’ ‘’Do we need to do anything with this information? Like I guess help him with maths?’’ She shrugged, ‘’I-I don’t know, I-I think I’ll r-report to Gaster first and s-see what he h-has to s-say, but m-maybe? I don’t know Sci i-it sounds s-scary, I m-mean we know th-the maths, just t-teaching? I c-can’t do th-that, I d-doubt there’s a s-single universe out th-there where I’m a t-teacher.’’ Sci tried to give a reassuring smile, ‘’You wouldn’t be that bad surely, besides it's not like you would have to properly teach him, just push him in the right direction, give him a little support, he shouldn’t need to be taught the entire subject or anything.’’ The skeleton gave her a wink, ‘’Trust me, I know, I had to do this with Paps when he was a teenager, especially with sciences and maths, could become difficult between work and him, but it can be managed.’’ He didn’t expect to see his friend give him a confused look, nor her response, ‘’Oh, so y-you were an a-adult when he was in school, I-I d-didn’t think you w-were that much older th-than him.’’ ‘’I mean, we were in school together for while, just later on as the older brother I did have to outgrow school and move on, get a degree and such. Though I did help him during school as well.’’ Alphys seemed hesitant for a moment as she looked to the side, before glancing back Sci’s way, ‘’Wh-what was school l-like for you? I d-don’t think I’ve ever heard anything about y-you from your universe’’. He stopped and looked up at the roof, going through his memories, ‘’Oh well that’s an interesting question. I didn’t go to school at the start, I wasn’t a very healthy child at all…’’, he could already sense the next worried question coming from the other monster so he quickly looked at her, giving a smile, ‘’…no need to worry, I’m ok now, that can be a story for another time. Anyway, I was home schooled by my mother for quite a while and even without that I was always reading books and learning.’’ He stopped for a moment and Alphys could just pick out a blissful grin on his face, a legitimate one. ‘’I think I can attribute my love for science from that. When you almost never get to leave the house and get stuck in bed almost all day, every day, even non-fiction books can be as exciting as fiction. All those science texts that spoke of the world around us, how everything worked, lots of things that I had never even heard of, it felt like the very world outside my front door could be an amazing place where so many things were possible. Not only that but when it comes to Astrology, when everything else is just amazing to a young boy, just imagine that in extension to the exterior world, there’s a whole universe out there, unexplored and full of infinite possibilities. That’s why I eventually became a scientist, because I wanted to see everything I read as a kid with my own eyes… otherwise afterwards, school was fine, had a few people to hang out with, was pretty chill throughout the years, never struggled or worried to much about anything except making sure my scores were high enough’’ He looked over at Alphys, letting her know she didn’t have to keep her silence, he always found her to be a good listener. ‘’W-wow…. Th-that’s r-really nice, wish I-I had s-such a good r-reason to g-go the w-way I d-did, for m-me science was…’’, she furrowed her brow as if she was struggling to remember something, trying break past a mental wall, but with an almost defeated look she sighed, ‘’… I’m n-not sure, guess I j-just found it m-my natural c-calling or something’’. ‘’Hey Al, there isn’t anything wrong with that, I think that’s a perfectly suitable reason, as long as you’re happy.’’ ‘’Y-yeah I g-guess… well I’m honoured t-to learn the o-origins of Dr Sci’’ His expression turned to one of amusement as he laughed, ‘’If only I had a dollar for every instance…’’ ‘’Wh-what do y-you mean?’’ ‘’Al, hate to break your grand image of me, but I’m not a Doctor, I don’t have the title or doctorate or anything.’’ ‘’What?! Really? Never?’’, surprise at this revelation caused her voice to get a bit higher. ‘’Hehehe nope, I’m just plain old Mr Sans’’ ‘’B-but why?’’ Sci shrugged, ‘’School never really agreed with me, eventually I dropped out of college and managed to weasel my way into a job with Gaster’’. The lizard monster nodded, ‘’O-ok, I s-see, that’s… awfully s-surprising to s-say the least, s-sorry for assuming,’’ He let out another chuckle, ‘’Don’t be, people do it all the time, it’s no biggy… now enough about me, what about you Al? What was school life like for you? I’m sensing you were real big on hanging out at the library. ‘’ Alphys’ face reddened a little bit at being called out like that, ‘’M-maybe y-you’re right… but school w-wasn’t very e-exciting for me. I-I didn’t r-really h-have many friends, was sort of a-alone most of th-the time, I w-was the one s-student everyone f-forget was in th-their class. Although my l-lack of presence made s-sure I was only m-made fun of like… e-every once and a wh-while I guess… heh.’’ He couldn’t help but grimace, ‘’That must’ve been rough, sorry to hear that.’’ ‘’O-oh don’t worry, I g-got th-through it eventually, Uni was a l-lot b-better though, i-it was much easier t-to find people w-with similar interests and s-stuff. Made a f-few friends and I e-even still t-talk to some of them online t-to this day… so y-yeah, th-things did look up in th-the end. Th-thanks for th-the concern though’’. His smile finally returned, deciding it was best to focus on the positive side of it all, ‘’Well I’m really glad to hear that at least, things did turn out well in the end. Got friends then and now you’ve got a lot more friends, right? Well you have one in me at least.’’ Alphys let a big smile come to her face, ‘’Thanks. I assure y-you, I am ex-extremely grateful f-for e-every single one of you for b-being in my life’’ ‘’Geez, calm down on the sentimentality, you’re going to make me blush’’, he nervously scratched back of his head, embarrassment being shown merely by his expression. ‘’S-sorry… I um-…’’ Soon two monster parents walked out of the classroom they were sitting outside, disappearing down the hall and leaving the classroom vacant for them. ‘’I g-guess we sh-should go i-inside?’’ ‘’Sounds like a plan, ladies first?’’ Alphys gave him a playful squint before leading them both into the classroom.
 ASGORE
Asgore was starting to really wish he had paid more attention to the schedule and that he knew where to go to find the others. Left, right, left, left, he couldn’t find his destination anywhere. He had been walking for fifteen minutes, but yet the sound of a walking cane in front of him brought his exploration to a halt, seeing a figure ahead of his path. The tall skeleton monster also stopped at the sight of the goat monster, resting on his walking cane, taking him a few seconds to finding some semblance of a comfortable postion. Asgore could read his face, the mental preparation on his expression was obvious, his gaze also noted a glare from a smaller skeleton monster standing behind. Gaster and Sans kept their gazes on him, moments turned to multiple seconds before finally Gaster threw away the silence. ‘’Asgore, it’s pleasant to see you here, why aren’t you with Dr Alphys?’’, his tone was calm and cold, he didn’t expect less. ‘’Turns out you don’t actually have to be there, something I learnt no thanks to you’’, he crossed his arms as his expression turned to one of aggressive seriousness, a feeling of anger and even resentment was building up within him, his tone wasn’t any better. ‘’Well I’ve always believed that you all being present is for the best, I think that it allows a good, healthy conversation between student, teacher and parent’’ ‘’Well it isn’t like you have a good idea of what is and isn’t the best. I think I can attest to that’’. Gaster’s eyes narrowed, the goat knew he was getting to them, the effort to stay calm draining his energy. But despite that jab, he apparently decided it was best to ask a question. ‘’You know anything about what the teachers have said? Anything you would like to talk about?’’ ‘’Just talk to Al, she’s reporting everything to you right? Best we don’t talk, right?’’ His voice kept getting more pointed towards his guardian. Finally his calmness cracked, and his voice raised, his anger becoming more apparent, ‘’Do you really plan to keep being so difficult? Can’t you just bite back that attitude for one damn minute?’’ With this Asgore could feel some negative form of satisfaction at getting to him, almost a victory that didn’t come close to filling him with any happiness or closure, just fuelling the void that was his resent. ‘’You going to apologise, admit you were wrong, going to stop keeping all your stupid little secrets, stop being so controlling? Stop doing a terrible job at parenting.’’ Suddenly, Sans came to his father’s defence, breaking his silence with a real pissed off smile, ‘’You think you’re funny? Stop whining and just be grateful you’ve managed to get away with your disrespect as much as you have.’’ ‘’That’s enough Sans.’’ Those three words with a huge amount of force put behind them managed to shift his focus, ‘’You really going take all of this from him? Stop letting him talk to you like this.’’ ‘’Just… leave. Go find the others or something. This is between Asgore and myself, you need not get involved.’’ ‘’But-…’’ ‘’Now Sans! Do as I say. This isn’t the time.’’ The seriousness of his tone could not be more apparent and without another word, Sans went to leave, not before shooting the other kid a despising look. After a small amount of silence to confirm Sans was gone, Gaster spoke, regaining a fragment of his calmness, ‘’Asgore, you know I have very good reason for what I do, you just need to realise that’’. The prince let out a small huff of dismissal, ‘’Always making it sound like you can’t be wrong. Typical. But you think I should be ok with you lying to me? About something so important?’’ ‘’Yes, if it’s for you own safety, then yes.’’ ‘’Well you’re wrong, you should’ve told me as soon as you found out, you should’ve told me I was a danger to everyone around me, things could’ve gone wrong and I could’ve got people killed? Is that freaking ok?’’, he could his blood boiling at Gaster’s every word, his mind racing and filling with every negative thought under the sun. Gaster wasn’t much better, his voice also rising, ‘’With the mental state you were in at the time, I had to hide it from you, you were vulnerable and in pain after everything that you’d been through. I’m certain that if I told you the truth, you would’ve snapped, jumped off the deep end, I have no idea what you would’ve done but I refused to let that be a risk, I am trying to help you with everything I do’’. ‘’You had no right to keep such valuable information from me’’. ‘’As a parent I had Every. Single. Right! I know what’s best for you Asgore. You just can’t see it.’’ Finally Asgore just hit his limit, he needed to inflict pain right now, he wanted to hurt him and he needed to get his emotions off his chest. ‘’WELL I WISH I COULD REVOKE THAT TITLE FROM YOU!! YOU DON’T DESERVE IT, NOBODY DESERVES THE HELL THAT’S YOUR PARENTING’’. Gaster clenched his teeth as the hit from his words hit him in his core, pain was stricken on his face, ‘’ ✡︎□︎◆︎ ♓︎❍︎◻︎◆︎♎︎♏︎■︎⧫︎ ♍︎♒︎♓︎●︎♎︎’’ The skeleton watched the child have sudden regret filled face, yet his vision being clouded by red didn’t allow him to notice until afterwards, when it was to little and to late. ‘’Maybe for you… maybe it would’ve been better if we’d never-‘’, he suddenly returned to his senses to prevent himself from trying to return fire, but watching Asgore’s face turn from regret to shock and sadness made him realise that he didn’t prevent the damage. ‘’Y-you… we both know how that sentence was going to end don’t we?’’, his voice sounded like it was a struggle to get out through troubled breathing. ‘’Asgore, you know I didn’t mean that, I think we both g-‘’ ‘’I think I need to leave now.’’, with those simple words he turned around and started to walk away in a hurry. ‘’Wait stop, please don’t, we’ll deal with this like civilised people’’, Gaster desperately pleaded as he summoned a skeletal hand behind Asgore that grabbed his shoulder. On reaction he furiously grabbed the hand and chucked it at the ground, giving it a hard stomp, cracking it into the ground until it disappeared, the skeleton wincing at the action. ‘’DON’T TOUCH ME, just stop! If you want me gone so badly, then you never have to see to me, Ever Again!’’ He turned to face Gaster, it was evident that tears were starting to form in the child’s eyes, but before the adult could see them drop, Asgore turned back around and ran away, out of sight. Gaster held his head in a pained expression, feeling a headache coming on, though he turned when he heard the voice of a cat monster come from behind him. ‘’Ummm sir, you ok? Couldn’t help but hear the umm end of the commotion’’, he said with a cautious tone. The scientist groaned, wishing nobody had to hear such a thing, ‘’I’ll be fine, I just need to… get a better handle on… everything. Sorry you had to hear that’’. ‘’Hehehe no it’s ok, teenagers right? My daughter is going through a similar phase, all argumentative and stuff over the most trivial things. That the same thing going on here?’’ Gaster started to walk away before he started speaking, his tone returning to one of calculations and cold. ‘’Exactly. Trivial matters. Just focus on your own business, if you will’’.

Laboratory
Tumblr media
Frisk rushed over the bridge across a lava flooded ravine below.  Sweltering heat threatened to rob his remaining strength.  Once he had reached the other side, Frisk stopped to catch his breath and glanced back.  Undyne's pace had slowed considerably.  She was making her way across the bridge but the heat was clearly getting to her.  Being a fish in full metal armor, she took a toll from the burning air.  Still, she forced herself on.  "Armor . . . so . . . hot," she mumbled.
Frisk backed away as Undyne continued toward him.  Only a moment later, she had reached Frisk’s side of the bridge but collapsed on dry ground a few feet from the child.  Frisk’s eyes darted over the immediate area.  She would die if he left her here.  He didn’t want that.  The child noticed a water cooler a few yards off and dashed for it.  He swiped a cup then clicked down on the little switch.  When the cup was full, Frisk reluctantly approached Undyne and dumped the water on her scaly, blue head.  As soon as the contents of the cup had gone, Frisk quickly backed away and sat down to wait.  He managed to catch his breath.  His body still ached from the hits he had taken, but since there wasn't any physical damage the pain was fading.
Undyne finally groaned.  She slowly lifted herself from the dry ground.  Frisk jumped to his feet and backed away further.  Undyne stared at him for a moment.  Frisk did his best to give her a smile.  She didn't speak to him.  She simply turned and walked away.  The child watched her cross the bridge and continue back toward Waterfall.  Frisk sighed then glanced to the stand where Sans had been.  The skeleton was gone.  Frisk went back to the water cooler to get another cup of water.  He was worn out and needed this chance to rest.  As he leaned against the cooler to drink from the cup, he felt a little strength coming back to him.  He thought about why Undyne had paused when he asked to be friends.  He had managed to get her attention but why.  Frisk finished the cup of water and reached to fill it again.  He hadn't realized how thirsty he was.
As he took another drink, Frisk’s attention turned toward a large building ahead.  There was a sign above the door that read, Lab.  He felt like he was getting closer to the end.  He knew that he had to reach the king's castle and travel through it.  He also knew that Asgore Dreemurr, the monster king, would be waiting for him.  By now, Frisk had heard a lot about the king.  But the name Asgore didn't sound as if it belonged to a monster as nice as other monsters described.  Frisk had a horrible feeling, like he was walking toward a horrendous death.  He frowned.  He had to make it out somehow.  He wanted to see his parents again.  Frisk almost dropped the cup when a yellow light flashed in front of him.  His line of thought was gone immediately.
Frisk reached to fill his cup with water again.  If anything, his determination would get him through this.  He was beginning to realize that he was practically unstoppable.  However the problem with having power to go back, was having to fail to begin with.  As far as Frisk was aware, he'd have to die every time.  That was something he couldn’t deal with forever . . . the pain.  Frisk thoughts were getting frightening.  He could keep living as long as he was determined enough, but he'd also experience the agony of every failure on the way.  Frisk shook his head.  He'd have to keep trying his hardest not to die.  He'd need to be more alert and ready.
"If you really want that, keep fighting for it," said a dull voice.
Frisk actually did drop the cup this time.  It hit the ground, spilling water on dry, cracked dirt.  He looked around but no one was there.  "No," he said out loud.  "I'm not going to do that anymore!"  Frisk didn't see anyone but he could hear the voice clearly.
"Why not?  Don’t you want to make it out alive?"
Frisk responded to it again, half assuming he was still arguing with himself somehow.  "I do, but I don't want to kill any more just to make my journey easier," he said.  Maybe the Underground had a magic spell that made this possible.  He didn’t know for sure.  Either way it was strange and uncomfortable to be talking to a nameless voice.
"You should listen to the flower," the voice replied.  "He might be cruel, but he's got the right idea."
What was this?  Was Frisk having an audible conversation with his darker side?  "Who are you?" he asked the voice.
"The sensible side of your conscience telling you that you aren't going to make it out unless you are willing to fight."  Frisk sighed and glanced down.  The voice continued.  "The monsters are fighting you for their freedom, why can't you do the same?  They aren't hesitating to kill you.  You should protect yourself better."
"Why should I protect myself if I can go back to try again if I fail?"
A pause followed.  "You're making a mistake," said the voice.
"Maybe I am, but I'll know really soon, won't I?"  Frisk continued toward the entrance of the lab.  His dark hair was a frizzy mess after the confrontation with Undyne.  He wasn’t expecting the doors to slide open automatically when he reached it.  Frisk peeked into a shadowed room on the other side.  He snuck in to look around.  The door shut behind him, leaving the child in near darkness.  Frisk stopped.  He couldn’t see anything.  At least it was refreshingly cool inside.  As his eyes adjusted, he noticed a faint light against the left wall.  He cautiously moved toward it and found a large screen mounted on the wall.  Displayed on it was an image of him.  Frisk stepped right then left.  The image followed his movements.  He turned around to look up at the ceiling.  There had to be a camera up there, but he couldn’t see it in the dark.  Frisk ran a hand through his messy hair as he realized what this meant.
Someone was watching him.  How long though?  Since he had entered the Underground?  Since he stepped into this lab?  Maybe they knew what he did to Toriel.  Frisk stared at the screen in fear for several seconds before letting out a sigh.  No, that couldn't be possible.  Toriel had kept the door to the Ruins locked.  Feeling somewhat safer for the moment, Frisk slowly moved deeper into the dark lab.  He bumped into a wooden desk, accidentally knocking off a stack of paper.  He tried to catch them, sending several fluttering over the floor before the rest hit with a smack.  Frisk cringed.  He stepped around the desk and continued more cautiously this time.  He heard the swish of a sliding door further in.  Frisk froze.  Someone had come in, mumbling something about seeds.  The child frantically searched for a place to hide.
The monster shuffled around a moment then flicked on the lights.  Bright white light flooded the large room before Frisk could successfully conceal himself.  He squinted as he turned and saw a short, lizard-like monster wearing a lab coat.  She noticed Frisk standing in the room and gasped.  Her green eyes nervously darted around the room.  "Oh my goodness!  I didn't expect you to show up so soon!  I haven't showered, the lab's all messy, and . . ."
“Oh, I don't mind," said Frisk.  “My room at home is probably just as messy.”
The monster paused to calm herself down.  She stepped closer and waved.  "Um . . . Hiya."  She smiled.  "I'm Dr. Alphys.  I'm Asgore's royal scientist!”
Frisk smiled back.  "Nice to meet you."
“And don’t worry!  I'm . . . not one of the bad guys," she added.  "Actually, since you stepped out of the Ruins, I've um . . ."  She glanced away nervously, her cheeks blushing a little.  "Been observing your journey through my console.  Your fights . . . your friendships . . . everything!"  Frisk's smile faded to a surprised stare.  Alphys laughed a bit.  "I was originally going to stop you, but . . . watching someone on a screen really makes you root for them.  So, uh . . . now I want to help you!"
Frisk tilted his head a little.  “Really?”
Alphys nodded.  "Yeah!  With my knowledge, I could easily guide you through Hotland and the Core!"
"I thought I was going to the castle.  Where’s that?"
"Oh, the castle is in the center of the capital passed Hotland and the Core," said Alphys.  "I can help you get there safely so . . . don't worry!  I know a way right to Asgore's castle, no problem."
           Frisk smiled.  "Okay, cool."
Alphys paused to glance away.  "Well . . . actually, um . . . there's just a tiny issue.  A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton.  Originally I built him to be an entertainment robot.  Uh, you know, like a robotic TV star or something.  Anyway . . ."  Alphys reluctantly took another step toward Frisk.  "Recently I decided to make him more useful.  You know, just some small, practical adjustments."  Frisk nodded in understanding.  "Like um . . . anti-human combat features?"
           Frisk stepped back.  "What?"
Alphys started sweating and tapped her clawed fingers together.  "Of course when I saw you coming, I immediately decided I have to remove those features!"  She glanced away again.  "Unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so . . . and um . . ."  She paused to take a deep breath before blurting out the rest.  "Now he's an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for human blood!"  Alphys laughed nervously.  "But, um, hopefully we won't run into him, right?"
“Uh . . . yeah.”  Frisk nodded slowly.  A loud thud echoed through the lab and shook the floor beneath them.
Alphys gasped.  "Oh no!"  She and Frisk frantically looked around as several following thuds shook the room.
A mechanical voice echoed through the walls.  "Oh yes!" it said.  The left wall blew inward and a large rectangular robot entered the lab with a mic in one hand.
          “We’re in trouble,” muttered Alphys.

Accident
(Part 2)
It wasn’t long since Undyne left with Mettaton. Frisk told everyone at the studio what happened and left afterwards.
They were concerned but also knew that Alphys can fix it. The small human was on their way home when they did noticed a certain robot. This confused them and they quickly walked to him. “Mettaton? Shouldn’t you be at Alphys’?” The tall monster’s voice sounded numb and full of static. Since they were close to their home, Frisk decided to take him home. The child grabbed the hand of Mettaton and they leaded him to their house. Upon arriving, Toriel opened the door. “Hello, my child-” “Mom! Mettaton doesn’t feel right! Can you help him?” They didn’t wanted to interrupt her. The goat monster looked from her child to the robot and ushered both in.
She made Mettaton sit down and petted his hair. “Oh, dear, what happened?” He couldn’t answer but Frisk told her what they knew. The boss monster frowned and went further in the house. The child petted Mettaton’s hand.
Soon enough Toriel came back with an ice pack. “I make you a soup, my child” She handled Frisk the ice pack and went to the kitchen. The child looked up at Mettaton and softly pressed the ice to his face. This made the robot hum. Whereas the human took care of the star and the soup cooked, Toriel called Alphys. “So, Undyne was taking care of him? I see!” “Y- yes! I am sorry to bother you, M- miss Toriel, but could you take care of him?” The goat woman smiled. “It’s okay, dear! Frisk would be happy to help.” At this moment she looked at her child, who petted the robot’s hair. “Oh… oh good! He should be healthy in no time. But it would be a good idea to call Undyne, too.”  Toriel nodded. “Yes I will inform her.” And with that both hung up.
The boss monster tried to call the fish but to no avail. She frowned softly and finished the soup. “So dear, I am done with your soup.” The goat sat next to him. While she took care of him, Frisk called someone else. It was a real struggle for the male monster to eat but Toriel took it slow and eventually he finished the soup.
In the meantime was Undyne furiously looking for the robot. She couldn’t believe that she lost him. Some humans and monsters were looking at her vigorous search. “Ngaaahhhhh he can’t be so far away! Why can’t I find him?!” She didn’t noticed that her cell phone was on mute.
Frisk was back at petting Mettaton’s hair which made the goat mother frown. “My child, would you stop this for a while! I think it would be best for him to sleep a little!” The star nodded softly, he felt very drowsy. The boss monster brought him to bed. When she walked back, Toriel saw Frisk getting a glass water. “Oh? Is that for Mettaton?” An nod “That’s sweet but doesn’t he only consume monster food?” They paused. The child kept forgetting that the robot monster can’t eat nor drink normal human food, a fact they learned the hard way. “Oh…. I forgot” Now the child was petted. This made them giggle. Before Toriel could tell them anything there was a knock. She opened it and revealed Papyrus. The goat was surprised at first but looked at her child and knew what was going on. “Ah! Greetings, Papyrus!” He nodded. His expression was worried. “I WAS INFORMED THAT METTATON WAS INJURED! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM HERE TO MAKE HIM FEEL BETTER!” Toriel giggled at the kind gesture from the skeleton. Regardless she shushed him. “That’s very nice, dear, but it would help him if you can be a little calm. He is sleeping right now.” The tall skeleton nodded again.
The fish monster was at a loss. She looked at most of the places she could thought of. She decided to bite in the sour apple and tell Alphys. When she looked at her phone, Undyne was confused. She had a missed call from the former queen. The fish shrug it of and called her girlfriend. “H- hello, Undyne!” “Hey, Alphys! I…. ummmm have some bad news!” She only heard a humming sound from the lizard. “I lost your robot!” It was curt. Might as well get it over with. “Hmmm~~ oh! I know” Undyne didn’t expected this answer. “What?” “Miss Toriel called me earlier. Frisk found Mettaton wandering around. I asked her if she is okay looking after him” This put the fish at ease. Unintentionally she hung up and yelled a powerful 'ngah’ which made some bystanders look at her. Then she ran off.
Meanwhile Mettaton woke up and now was doted on by the skeleton. This made Toriel smile. It reminded her of the was she us to be with Asgore. The better times of their relationship.
Not soon after, the goat woman heard an alarming strong knock. Luckily Frisk opened the door before it could break in half. The former royal captain stood wide eyed and heavy breathing. She ran all the way to Toriel’s. “So! I heard the robo-punk is here!” The boss monster came up to the door. “Ah, yes, he is! But please calm down first! Do you like a drink?” The fish nodded. After she calmed down enough, she went to the room Papyrus and Mettaton were. “Man! Why did ya run away?!” The monster in question looked up. The drowsy effect of the painkillers were gone by now. “Yhou tried to drug me!” Undyne frowned. “You were in pain! I just tried to help!” The skeleton felt that the two had a lot of tension between them but he didn’t know what he could do. “Yhou are not allohwed to thake care of me ever again!” The robot’s injury healed a little so it didn’t hurt so much anymore. The fish monster wanted to argue but thought better. “You know what? Okay! It’s a pain to take care of you!” This was the end of their conversation.
It didn’t took long for Mettaton to get better and Undyne was glad that Toriel took care of him. The fish did apologized again though, which the star accepted. He forgave her already anyway. After the apology she gave him a noogie which he didn’t forgave.

Love And Laughter - Dinner With A Skeleton
"Wow! Amazing! I-I wish I could d-draw like you!" Alphys exclaimed, staring in awe at the sight. "If you stick around long enough, you may even get to see the finished product as it's being made!" beamed Kirsty. "As much as I'd love Alphys to stay, she better not be too long; me and Kirsty are going-" Frisk said. Kirsty intervened at once, informing her that "it's not 'me and Kirsty'. It's Kirsty and I." "... Yeah. Right. Kirsty and I are going for dinner at the MTT Resort." "Yeah, I'm gettin' kinda bored, sitting around, watching Mettaton. Let's go home, Alphys. I'm gettin' hungry!" Undyne moaned, pulling her lizard lover out of the house. "Oh. I guess I don't really have a choice. B-bye, Kirsty! I hope I s-see you again soon!" Alphys yelled. "Bye, Alphys! Bye, Undyne!" shouted Kirsty, waving goodbye as the door closed with a bang.
"Alright, Ms Kirsty Poppy, we better get ready, 'cause we're not just going for dinner at the Mettaton Resort; we're going with Papyrus and Sans." said Frisk, pulling Kirsty onto her feet. "Oh, cool. I like Papyrus. He's really nice." smiled the girl, letting down her hair and brushing it thoroughly. "I'm glad you like him. You'll probably like Sans, too. He's real funny." the almost teen grinned. "Really? Cool! I like funny people." Kirsty commented. "Well, in that case, let's not waste time talking!"
Soon enough, the humans were in a more formal state, ready for dinner with skeletons. They smelled like lovely lavender, owned two sets each of pearly white gnashers and and had low, tied-back, brown hair.
Frisk took Kirsty through the snow, past several houses, to a nearby river. Hovering on the water was a small boat, just big enough for five people, and on it sat a hooded figure, who spoke, "Tralala. Where to today, humans?" "Hotlands, please." Frisk said, sitting on the boat with Kirsty. "Tralala. Hotlands it is then." the figure replied. The boat took off at a satisfactory speed, right away. "Hotlands?" asked Kirsty. "Yeah. There's the Ruins (where humans fall), Snowdin (where we live), Waterfall (where Undyne lives), Hotlands (where the MTT Resort is) and Tori's Castle (where the queen lives, of course). Hotlands is, obviously, very hot - so you might wanna take off that massive coat - and there lava - try not to fall in." Frisk explained, taking off Kirsty's winter coat. "Alright. Sounds fun."
Soft, tepid waves slowed to a stop as the boat ride shortly ended. Frisk and Kirsty climbed out and thanked the figure kindly. The abrupt change in atmosphere caught Kirsty off guard. She had gone from being so cold that her breath came out in great clouds of smoke like a dragon, shivering as she took each step and watching as she turned into Kirsty The Red-nosed Human to being so hot that she had the sudden urge to strip off completely - which she would have, had there not've been people strolling along the sweltering streets. Kirsty now started to sweat and she took off her GEEK jacket, tying it around her waist.
"Haha!" laughed Frisk. "I told you it was hot!" "I don't think I like this heat." the teen chuckled. "I hope it's not this hot in the resort." "Oh, nah. They're kind enough to have air conditioning." Frisk clarified, giggling happily as her friend breathed a sigh of relief.
The two of them walked along the rocky path, chatting about people and places, dodging the bursts and bubbles of lava that the pools shot at them, making their way towards the hotel - a large, blue building, which read 'MTT' above the glass door. Unprecedented changes in the air became frequent to Kirsty; she made a mental not to always expect the unexpected. The cool breeze from Snowdin had followed her to the resort like a dog to it's caring owner and this fact lifted their spirits (and their coats onto the trustworthy coat hanger near the entrance). Wet from the overflowing Mettaton fountain, the floor they danced over was a perfect, brilliant gold. The only thing terrible about the place was the staff; an orange cat cashier could be seen stealing money from the till, not even trying to be subtle or secretive about it.
Frisk took Kirsty to him, asking if he'd seen two skeletons pass through. He replied with, "Yeah. A tall one and a short one. You with them, little buddy?" "Yeah, we are. Thanks, BP." said Frisk, dragging Kirsty away. "Any time, little buddy." he nodded. "'BP'?" asked the teen. "It stands for Burger Pants. That's what everybody calls 'im. Don't ask why." Frisk chortled. "Well, what's his real name?" "Er... Dunno."
The restaurant had a stage at one wall and a multitude of round tables in a range of sizes. Neat tablecloths were thrown onto them, cutlery set out tidily, chairs tucked in, a single candle on every surface - 'This is certainly a place worth admiring.' thought Kirsty. "There they are!" Frisk pointed out. What with there being only a few people in the room and the monsters in question were having trouble with not standing out, there was really no need to point them out, 'but, whatever floats your boat, I guess.' shrugged Kirsty. "Hey, Papyrus! Hey, Sans!" There, right in front of the stage, sitting next to each other at a table for four, was Papyrus and his brother, Sans.
Papyrus was still in his 'battle body' - a red scarf, red gloves and red boots - a kind of formal outfit. His brother, on the other hand, was quite the opposite - everything-wise, apart from the fact that they're both skeletons, of course. Sans was short and wore a blue hoodie, a white sweater, a pair of black and white, striped shorts and sneakers. He leaned back in his chair, half-asleep, while Papyrus sat politely upright.
When they heard the humans coming, Papyrus waved excitedly. Sans lifted an eyelid, then the other. His eyes - if he had any - widened. "Papyrus," he whispered. "you said she was pretty, but I had no idea she was this...beautiful." "She is, isn't she? Quite a pretty picture." Papyrus nodded in agreement.
The humans took their seats at the table, Kirsty shuffling the cutlery about until she saw it fit her liking. She looked Sans up and down, deciding that he was just another person to add to the Crowd Of Gawping People. "Hello, humans!" grinned Papyrus. "I was wondering when you were going to come." "Sorry if we were late." Frisk apologised. "Actually, I think it was just that they were a bit early." explained Kirsty. "Ah." said Frisk. "Well, in that case, not sorry." "Oh... Um... I didn't... Okay." Kirsty stammered. "Hehe. It's okay. It was a joke, yeah?" said Frisk. "Uh... Yeah." replied Kirsty.
"So, anyway, Kirsty, this is Sans. Sans, this is Kirsty. She's the newest human, but you probably already knew that. Go ahead, Kirsty, shake his hand." urged Frisk, grinning at the skeleton. Sans offered the girl his hand, but she was quick enough to uncover the prank, pointing out a hidden whoopie cushion. "Heh. You're pretty observant, huh?" he laughed, stuffing the failed joke in his pocket and properly shaking her hand, forgetting to let go. "Thanks... Can I have my hand back now?" asked Kirsty, shyly. His grip was firm, yet kind. She almost enjoyed it. "What...? Er... Oh. Yeah, sure." Sans let go, faintly blushing. "Sans!" Papyrus hissed. "Don't embarrass yourself in front of the human! At least try to make a good first impression!" Sans shrugged, staring at his hand.
"Yeah, Sans is pretty good at the jokes. Do you know any good ones?" asked Frisk. "Um... Knock knock." said Kirsty. "Oh, God! Please, don't!" cried Papyrus. "Who's there?" Sans asked, ignoring Papyrus' begging. "To." Kirsty replied. "To who?" "No, it's 'to whom', actually." Frisk and Sans chuckled; Papyrus rolled his eyes, scowling. "That was a good one!" Frisk cheered. "I'm not as good at telling jokes as Sans is. Why don't you tell one?" "Uh... Erm... I..." stuttered Sans, at a loss for words.
However, before he could say anything, his younger brother called to a waiter and ordered the staff to surprise them. He said, crossing his arms, that he "just had to put an end to the disgusting topic", as it was making him more and more uncomfortable.
Papyrus and Frisk then began talking non-stop about food and the cooking lessons with Undyne. Apparently, Undyne and Frisk - but mostly Undyne - had set her whole house ablaze when they were cooking spaghetti together (turns out, the final product wasn't actually half bad). She then had to live with Papyrus and Sans until her house was put back together again. They had a lot of fun. At this point, Kirsty chose to switch off again. She allowed herself to daydream as she waited for an MTT Meal. The imaginative cogs in her brain whirred into motion, running as quick as a nice cube in Hell.
The images of future sleepovers with her future besties, Alphys and Frisk, roamed the vast complexity of her mind. They attacked each other with playful pillow fights, toyed with subjects not to be messed about with, roasted marshmallows over the fire in the lounge, played truth or dare, and talked about cute boys (or girls) they took an interest in, all whilst having a whale of a time - and whales do make some noise, so, of course, they did too. Bang! Slam! Boom! Clap! No one got rest on the nights they spent together (not even them). Was there any better way to have a sleepover with your possible BFFs? Ah, yes! Movies! Now this was a practically perfect party. And, if it wasn't, Kirsty was filled with perseverance to make sure it was.
As her mind wandered, so did her eyes - they, themselves, seemed to have a mind of their own. They drifted about the room, travelling from the ceiling to the floor, from the cutlery to the door, and from one person to the other. Soon, Kirsty found herself staring blankly at Sans, who sat opposite her, staring back. It felt as if they were having a staring contest, but neither really cared for winning. They stayed like this for almost a minute, before Kirsty managed to shake herself out of the magic spell, without stopping to wonder if their moment meant anything.
Frisk found Kirsty sitting on the cream sofa, looking into the fire in her pyjamas. The evening had gone smoothly. The food was delicious and she hadn't spoken much, but how could she when others kept babbling about somewhat unrelated subjects? Sans held her hand on the way to Snowdin, but she no one ever thought anything of it. Papyrus and Frisk held hands, so why couldn't they? Her hair was freely falling down her shoulders, her fringe persistent to veil her sleepy, emerald green eyes. She hugged her knees, mesmerised by the dancing flames, letting out a tired yawn as Frisk sat beside her.
"So, what do you think?" asked the twelve year old. "Of the Underground, I mean." "Good." Kirsty replied. "I'll explore it tomorrow. It seems interesting, all these different places. I bet there'll be different people there... They're all really different...really confident...not afraid to be who they are... That's my favourite part..."

Extinct Alley - UnderTale based Fanfic - (Meet The Siblings)
Sans, Alphys and Undyne were on the way towards the little known barrier. When Sans came back home, he couldn't find Papyrus nor Frisk anywhere. Papyrus would always text him or leave a letter to tell where he was going. Maybe he had no signal? That meant only one thing.
"Are you sure that they may have gone there?" Undyne asked briefly. She looked over to the short skeleton while she walked next to him and Alphys.
"i'm pretty sure, where else would they go?" Sans asked as he looked up at the fish lady. He had an suspicion that Monster Kid could have told them something while them three were chatting about the details.
Everything was too suspicious towards the skeleton. He didn't have much trust in new events and also the things that he knew that weren't pretty.
He wouldn't be surprised if all of his expectations were true. He didn't really expect Monster Kid to get Frisk and Papyrus into this stuff but it was more likely that he could without realising the consequences.
Maybe the three, while trying to look for Papyrus and Frisk, would be lucky to find out more about the place. It didn't seem that bad but if Undyne was right and they were that the monsters on the other side were ready to break the barrier and go against the king, it could cause a lot of chaos. Due to the fact that they have been trapped there in the first place, it could suggest that all of them weren't the nicest monsters around. Although, looks can confuse. Some monsters could look scary and ready to burst out but inside they could be a very nice person. That is where Papyrus didn't see that.
Papyrus would see every monster to have a good personality but that wasn't the case all of the time. Most of the time. Some monsters who can be nice and have evil thoughts at the same time can be pretty deadly. Or at least would go as far as back stabbing.
Trust was limited down there unless you really know someone and what they are capable of. The monsters that was mentally unstable were less trusted but to get along with them was pretty good but being closer, such as friends, was a bit of a risk.
The most worried monster out of all of them was Undyne. If everything that they said was true, then she would need to take action into preventing any disaster from happening. Although, she didn't know what those types were capable of so she would have to investigate before gathering suspicion.
On the other hand, Alphys thought that it may have been just their imagination of these monsters wanting to go further to breaking the barrier. It took a lot of strength and magic to break the barrier that the king himself put up. They just couldn't prove if the monsters were actually planning on breaking the barrier and it was most likely that they didn't have the magic to do so. Even if they did get together and blasted their magic at it, it wouldn't be enough. Unless, they were really storing and levelling up in order to be able to. Although, Alphys doubted the fact that those monsters would risk it. It would put everyone at risk.
As the three monsters got near the barrier, they noticed that the gates have not yet moved. "If we e-enter then m-most likely it will change place of i-its location...I'm n-not sure if we would b-be able to find it again", the lizard monster exclaimed. They stopped before the glowing teal force.  "I'm sure we'll be fine! We can ask someone for directions...or...", Undyne paused as Alphys shook her head. "I d-doubt many monsters know the p-pattern. I should h-have written it down", Alphys sighed as Sans simply shrugged and stepped past the barrier. "jeez...that felt weird", he muttered before looking back at the two females. They also walking through the barrier.  "Why did the king allow us to go through?" Undyne asked. She have worked in Royal Guard for too short time to be let any of this information be aphorised to her. "I-It was f-for the Royal Guards to enter a-and check on their behaviour", Alphys said as they started to walk down the path. It didn't look much different. Although, there was less light available around. It almost created a creepy atmosphere for the three monsters. The trees loomed over them and looked dangerously close to snapping. It was mostly just their imagination.
Five minutes have passed and the monsters have not yet seen any life form. It seemed like the path was endless. The time seemed to run slower as well. It was until they started to hear the leaves rattling not so far away. Out of no where, a silhouette ran out of the behind of the tree further in front of them, only to disappear on the other side of the path. There were another two forms. This time, they let out animalistic screams and hissing noises, right behind the first creature. A faint trail of light left after them, one purple and one pink.
The three monsters stopped in their tracks and looked at each other. They weren't sure if they should carry on and examine the event but they decided to stay put and wait for a minute. Not so soon later, they saw an outline of a creature walk out from behind the trees and the bushes. It seemed to stop in the middle and look around. It was too dark to exactly tell who they were. As always, Sans went first. He wanted to find his brother and the kid as that monster could help them.
"um...excuse me?" Sans said quietly, only to see the monster look his way. They turned towards Sans before walking over to him slowly. "we're um...kinda lost, looking for my brother and a human", he muttered before the monster was in the line of sight that they could make what their looks.
It was a male monster. He seemed to come from a rather tall family. Only Alphys knew what type of dinosaur he was. He was a Velociraptor. Although, it was obvious that he wasn't purely just Velociraptor genes. There was a hint that he was some sort of hybrid.
"You're looking for your brother? I'm not exactly sure I may have seen him. After all, it's rare to see your type of skeletons here", the raptor said, his voice rather calm and soft. He had vivid purple irises, faint orange skin with markings which were symmetrical on both sides. His hair was a darker orange along with a ponytail at the back of his head. He wore simple clothes, actually casual.
"Oh, by the way, my name is Zeph", the tall monster said with a soft smile. He didn't seem to be a threat to the outsiders. The only things that concerned them were the big claws on his third digit on each foot. They tapped at the ground, making small holes in to dirt.
"i'm sans, this is undyne and this is alphys", Sans said as the two female monsters walked over closer. Undyne wasn't the one to trust anyone which may have been bad or good. Alphys simply waved, smiling shyly.
"It's v-very nice to m-meet you Zeph", Alphys said quietly, making the tallest monster chuckle softly. It was obvious that his eyes glanced over to Undyne, who simply crossed her arms and stood back.
"Royal Guard...I see, that's pretty much what I expect of you", the raptor spat out before sighing. "I hope you aren't one of THEM", he muttered before looking back down at the skeleton. "I don't come across many monsters who dare to go through the barrier, maybe you are the second or third today", he said which made Sans gasp.
"so...you mean we weren't the first ones? who was before us?" Sans asked, stepping closer to the taller monster. He didn't decide to move any closer. The raptor seemed rather friendly and wanted to help them but there was something that made Sans unsure about him.
"That's nothing surprising. I know some monster who comes in here often. Though, I don't know who you three are exactly so I won't be giving any more information, unless you know them", Zeph said.
"Well! We know someone who comes in here! His name is Monster Kid", Undyne bursted out which seemed to surprise the dinosaur. Bingo. Undyne instantly could tell that this monster knew her friend.
"Ah...Monster Kid, what a great kid he is. Yes, I do know him and all of you seem to know him too which is...promising. Although, I'm afraid I don't exactly know where he might be. He may be actually playing with Trano again", the raptor sighed softly and shown them a soft smile. "If you don't mind, follow me to my house and it's most likely he would come and visit sooner or later", Zeph said before turning around and instead of going down the path, he turned and walked in the direction of the trees.
The three monsters followed. Alphys was the last monster to worry about anything. However, Undyne was the most alerted. She wasn't going to tolerate any dinosaur monster leading them into danger. Although, those three monsters didn't know one little thing about the raptor.
"S-So, it looks l-like you don't like Royal Guards?" Alphys softly asked, not wanting to be rude in anyway and looked over to Undyne, who seemed not to care much about the question but the answer.
"Obviously, why would I like them? I'm not saying it to individuals such as yourself, Undyne. I'm not saying that I don't like you but I personality don't like the system of how it works. It had been a while since the last group of Royal Guards have visited us and had put down some of us just because they expressed their opinions", the tallest monster stopped but kept walking. "As much as I don't like Royal Guards, I will respect them no matter what. After all, if you would like to know then I'm the guard of this place, and well, I'm not the only one"
"What?! You can't just make yourself a guard! It's the King who decides who becomes a guard!" Undyne yelled annoyed. It may have been a reason of the truth that she respected the king greatly and something like that went against the rules.
The raptor stopped and looked back at them. "And what does the King do for us?" He muttered, almost giving Undyne a cold glare but held himself back. "We have to somehow keep order here as well just like you do in your own place. It's almost pointless to explain it to you", Zeph finished at that, once again walking through the grass. They have soon ended up in a small village which could be hard to find. The four monsters walked the path, along the row of houses. It was quiet. It was empty unlike in Snowdin or in Hotlands or anywhere else.
Zeph sighed softly, rubbing the back of his neck which made him slow down a little bit. "you're ok dude?" Sans asked and walked next to the taller monster as Undyne and Alphys stayed behind them.
"Eh? Oh yeah, don't worry about me. It's just that the monster I was chasing managed to escape. He was stealing something apparently and when I saw him, he instantly started running away and he was pretty fast too", Zeph muttered which made Sans think.
"earlier, we saw two creature chase after a dude, was that him?"
"I think it was. My raptors were chasing after him since he tricked me which slowed me down", Zeph said before looking down at the skeleton, noticing his confused look. "By my raptors I mean my two skeleton Velociraptors, I imagine you have something similar?"
"i do...i guess?" Sans shrugged which made Zeph chuckle. It was obvious that Zeph and Sans were going to get along. It was a possibility that Zeph and Undyne would also if they thought of themselves nothing of being a Royal Guard or a Guard of the Extinct Alley. Soon, Zeph turned and walked towards a fairy big house, unlocking it and walked in. The three monsters instantly noticed that he didn't live alone since why would be need such a big house just for himself.
"Make yourself at home, just please take off your shoes. My sister is a big pain if someone brings in mud or dirt", Zeph said as Sans and Undyne took off their boots or slippers. Alphys didn't have to since she wasn't wearing any. The four monsters walked into the living room, Zeph turning to them and smiled.
"Why don't you sit down? We could chat before someone turns up", he asked as Sans instantly went for the couch and sat back, and then Alphys and Undyne. Zeph walked over and sat himself down behind the coffee table which was in front of the couch, sitting on the floor.
"So, anything you three like to talk about? I'm going to answer any of your questions if needed", Zeph offered. The three monsters looked at each other, not saying a word.
"How do you know Monster Kid?" Undyne decided to go first, making the raptor smile sweetly.
"Monster Kid? My sister said that she met him near the barrier at night. He was awfully unaware what he could be getting himself into but he was lucky that it was my sister. Why? Did he tell you something about us?" Zeph tilted his head, holding his hands together.
"He did say something about meeting someone from here but we didn't know who exactly. I guess we know now. Monster Kid said something about becoming a family with...you? That's my guess. Is that true?"
"He did wish for Orina and I to take him under our wings. We don't mind much. No, to be honest we would love to. That kid is really something. He doesn't fear anything and would risk it to find the right monsters. Although, we have not yet talked about it with my sister if it's even possible", Zeph said, his smile slowly fading.
"I don't think that's a great idea", Undyne said, expressing her opinion. She didn't want to have Monster Kid under the care of unknown to her strangers.
"Are you saying that just because I'm a dinosaur monster? I understand. Though, it's kind of Monster Kid's choice to choose who he wants to be with, right?" Zeph argued, staring at the fish monster. "We won't force him to do anything. I understand that all of you are his friends and care about him. Even though, I wouldn't be against you all if he chooses you than me", Zeph said softly, standing up and his chill smile appeared back onto his face. "Would any of you like something to eat or drink?"
~Meanwhile with Papyrus, Frisk and Monster Kid~
The monster came out of the shadows. The skeleton and human had to admit, they were nothing that they have seen before. The monster had big powerful wings, two claws each on both of the joint of their wings. It was a girl and she had grey skin, along with darker grey markings. She hair was an interesting shade of maroon along with small pink irises.
"Orina, this is Frisk and Papyrus. Papyrus and Frisk, this is Orina", Monster Kid said cheerfully, the weird looking monster waving a little with her claws.
"It's very nice to meet you two. Monster Kid's friends are my friends too", Orina said before hearing the tall skeleton gasp.
"I HAVE A NEW FRIEND!? WOWIE!" Papyrus seemed overjoyed with the news. Frisk smiled and waved their small hand.
"Monster Kid told me a lot about both of you, it's very interesting to meet a human like yourself, Frisk. It really is", Orina said softly before blinking when Papyrus stepped closer to her.
"WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU, IF YOU DON'T MIND THE GREAT PAPYRUS ASKING", Papyrus placed his gloved hand onto his chest when he was calling himself great once again. This made the dinosaur giggle lightly.
"I'm a Pteranodon if that's what you are asking, dear", Orina said softly, his Papyrus' jaw drop open, only to come back up.
"I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT NEVERMIND!" Papyrus said cheerfully. Orina looked over to the Monster Kid who seemed to be looking around.
"Would two of you like to come for dinner? I should go back home anyway since Zeph may be waiting already", Orina said before leading the way. Frisk hesitated a little but followed right after Papyrus and Monster Kid. The three monsters and a human walked from nothing but trees around, to a small village which wasn't that far away. Once again, not any living soul outside. The female lead the human, the skeleton and the lizard down the path. None of the lights were on in the houses, it looked like no one was home and some had the curtains closed.
"We're here", Orina said before opening the door and stepped inside. "Zeph? I have bought some guests with me", she said before walking into the living room, only to find more visitors.
"YOU!"

Underearth: Book 1 - Chapter 23
The inside of the laboratory was dark. The only light that Frisk could see was from a massive monitor screen that appeared to be displaying... him? Frisk continued further inside, hoping to find the exit before something found him. Clinging to the right wall, he crept further and further into the lab. A bit further in, he heard a door open, causing him to freeze in place. A second later and the lights turned on. Right in front of him was a large yellow lizard, about Frisk's size. It wore a white lab-coat, a bra, panties, and glasses. After turning on the lights, they went to observing whatever was on a clipboard in their left hand before looking up and spotting Frisk.
"Oh. My god." she said, dropping the clipboard on the ground. "I didn't expect you to show up so soon! I haven't showered, I'm barely dressed, it's all messy, and..." she turned around and stayed silent for a moment before turning her head back to face Frisk. "Ummm... H-h-hiya!" she turned around fully, the lab-coat now fully buttoned up. "I'm Dr. Alphys. I'm Asgore's Royal Scientist! B-b-but, ahhhh, I'm not one of the 'bad guys'!" She stuttered as she spoke, tripping over words all awkwardly. "Actually, since you stepped out of the Citadel, I've, um... been 'observing' your journey through my console. Your fights... Your friendships... Everything!"
Frisk looked back at the large monitor he saw as he walked in, still displaying a live image of him.
"I was originally going to stop you, but... Watching someone on a screen really makes you root for them. S-so, ahhh, now I want to help you! Using my knowledge, I can easily guide you through the Hotlands! I know a way right to Asgore's palace, no problem!"
She stopped for a moment, crouching down a bit to pick up the clipboard.
"Well, actually, umm, there's just a tiny issue."
"What is it?" Frisk responded.
"A long time ago, I made a robot named Mettaton. Originally, I built them to be an entertainment robot. Uh, you know, like a robotic TV star or something. Anyway, recently I decided to make them more useful. You know, just some small practical adjustments. Like, um..."
She began tripping over her words again.
"Like what?" Frisk questioned, a bit annoyed.
"Anti... anti-Human combat features?"
Frisk couldn't believe it. It's as though everything down here has a side purpose of slaughtering Humans. And that self-rightious 'Undyne' called me a murderer.
"Of c-course, when I saw you coming, I immediately decided... I have to remove those features! Unfortunately, I may have made a teensy mistake while doing so, and, um... Now he's an unstoppable killing machine with a thirst for Human blood?" She then gave out an awkward laugh before getting back on track. "But, ummm, hopefully we won't run into him!"
Just as she finished saying that, there was a loud banging sound.
"D-did you hear something?"
Another banging sound.
I swear, if that's this 'Mettaton', I'm gonna be pissed.
Another few banging sounds.
"Oh no." Alphys said before a large explosion happened and all the lights went out.
"OHHHH YES!" Frisk heard a new, unfamiliar voice. "WELCOME, BEAUTIES..." A spotlight turned on to reveal a rectangular metal box on a singular wheel, four dials on the bottom, an array of massive pixels on the top-mid, and two arms sprouting out the sides. "TO TODAY'S QUIZ SHOW!!!"
Music began playing as lesser spotlights came down, covering the lab in colored lights.
"OH BOY! I CAN ALREADY TELL IT'S GONNA BE A GREAT SHOW! EVERYBODY GIVE A BIG HAND FOR OUR WONDERFUL CONTESTANT!"
As Mettaton began clapping, confetti fell from the ceiling onto Frisk. "NEVER PLAYED BEFORE, GORGEOUS? NO PROBLEM! IT'S SIMPLE! THERE'S ONLY ONE RULE. ANSWER CORRECTLY... OR YOU DIE!!!"
While Frisk had never been on a game show before, he wasn't particularly in the mood at the current time.
"LET'S START WITH AN EASY ONE!!" Mettaton began. #1: What's the prize for answering correctly? A: Money B: Mercy C: New car D: More questions
It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that D was the blatantly correct choice.
"D" Frisk said confidently.
"RIGHT! SOUNDS LIKE YOU GET IT! HERE'S YOUR TERRIFIC PRIZE!"
#2: What's the king's full name? A: Lord Fluffybuns B: Fuzzy Pushover C: Asgore Dreemurr D: Dr. Friendship
Frisk remembered that Undyne called him Asgore Dreemurr, which sounded like the most correct out of all the options anyway.
"C"
"CORRECT! WHAT A TERRIFIC ANSWER! NOW, ENOUGH ABOUT YOU. LET'S TALK ABOUT ME!"
#3: What are robots made of? A: Hopes & Dreams B: Metal & Magic C: Snips & Snails D: Sugar & Spice
He knew that Metal was involved, but he wasn't sure if Humans used magic in their robotic creations.
"B"
"TOO EASY FOR YOU, HUH?????????? WELL, HERE'S ANOTHER EASY ONE FOR YOU!"
#4: Two trains, Train A and Train B, simultaneously depart Station A and Station B. Station A and Station B are 252.5 miles apart from each other. Train A is moving at 124.7mph towards Station B, and Train B is moving at 253.5mph towards Station A. If both trains departed at 10:00AM and it is now 10:08, how much longer until both trains pass each other? A: 31.054 minutes B: 16.232 minutes C: 32.049 minutes D: 32.058 minutes
Easy? You call this easy? I can't even remember half of what was said!!
"HURRY, DARLING, TIME IS RUNNING OUT!"
Oh yeah, like 30 seconds is enough time to figure out a physics question!
"TIME'S UP!" Mettaton shouted as a bolt of lightning extended from his finger and hit Frisk straight in the chest, sending him flying into the wall behind him.
Frisk fell to the ground, coughing up blood and, in another second, vomiting onto the floor. His chest burned, but, like all forms of attacks he'd encountered so far, not a single mark was found.
"HURRY, GET UP, DARLING! WE'RE NOT DONE YET!"
Frisk looked up at Mettaton, his vision all blurry.
"HMM, WELL I GUESS IT'S TIME TO BREAK OUT THE BIG GUNS!!"
#9: In the dating simulation video game 'Mew Mew Kissy Cutie', what is Mew Mew's favorite food?
Before Mettaton could finish reading the question, Alphys interupted him and started shouting the answer. After a minute, Mettaton stepped back in and began scolding her.
"ALPHYS, ALPHYS, ALPHYS. YOU AREN'T HELPING OUR CONTESTANT, ARE YOU? OOOOOOH!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME. I'LL ASK A QUESTION YOU'LL BE SURE TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO!
#?: Who does Dr. Alphys have a crush on? A: Undyne B: Asgore C: You, the Human D: You don't know
Frisk, fighting through the headache that now plagued him, thought back. Undyne spoke of Alphys, though this could simply be idle speculation, and perhaps just one-sided if that were the case. Asgore was an unknown variable. He himself was out of the question for him. The most correct answer would be D. But, whatever it may be, perhaps curiosity, Frisk chose a different answer.
"A"
As soon as Frisk had said that, Alphys turned as red as a lobster while Mettaton spoke down to her.
"SEE, ALPHYS? I TOLD YOU IT WAS OBVIOUS. EVEN THE HUMAN FIGURED IT OUT."
I did?
"YES, SHE SCRAWLS HER NAME IN THE MARGINS OF HER NOTES. SHE NAMES PROGRAMMING VARIABLES AFTER HER. SHE EVEN WRITES STORIES OF THEM TOGETHER... SHARING A DOMESTIC LIFE. PROBABILITY OF CRUSH: 101 PERCENT. MARGIN OF ERROR, ONE PERCENT."
Mettaton rolled back away from Alphys towards Frisk.
"WELL WELL WELL. WITH DR. ALPHYS HELPING YOU... THE SHOW HAS NO DRAMATIC TENSION! WE CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS!! BUT. BUT!! THIS WAS JUST THE PILOT EPISODE!! NEXT UP, MORE DRAMA! MORE ROMANCE!!! MORE BLOODSHED!!! UNTIL NEXT TIME, DARLINGS...!!!"
And with that, Mettaton blasted off through the roof of the lab, heading further into the mountain, no doubt.
A silence rung over the lab for a few minutes before Alphys finally spoke up.
"Well that was certainly something."
Frisk began walking towards the exit of the lab.
"Wait, wait!" Alphys called out to Frisk. "Let me give you my ph-phone number! Th-then... m-maybe... If you need help, I could..."
As she spoke, Frisk pulled out his phone. When Alphys saw it, she was shocked.
"Wh... where'd you get that phone!? It's ANCIENT! It doesn't even have texting. W-wait a second, please!"
She then grabbed the phone out of his hand and ran off up a conveyer belt. He then heard a load of mechanical sounds coming from the floor above before Alphys finally came back.
"Here," She said, handing Frisk back his phone "I upgraded it for you! It can do texting, items, it's got a key chain... I even signed you up for the Underground's #1 social network! Now we're officially friends!"
Great, just what I've always wanted. To be friends with *those* kinds of people.
Alphys then gave out a very awkward laugh before going silent for about a minute before saying something about a bathroom and running off.
With Alphys finally out of the way, Frisk continued out of the lab.
