Pairing: Dean Winchester x reader

Summary: it’s Dean’s birthday, you go to visit him with some news and things that need to be said.

A/N: Happy bday, De.

Warnings: so much angst, mentions of sex, hopeful/happy ending (?)

Dean’s dead. It’s Dean’s birthday and he’s dead. You can’t argue much.

Sam denied the demon blood inside him, and that didn’t stop its evil nature from growing and gasping for his fresh air to the point he was almost shocked alive. Dean denied his dad’s destructive methods’ results for the longest time, and that didn’t stop the cicatrixes in every emotion he had ever shown. You denied the absence of Dean and that didn’t stop the bricks cracking in your soul. There’s only so far you can go with your eyes closed.

So here you are. Standing in front of an empty grave. You are bigger than the dull tombstone, yet you can’t help but not to feel tall, at all. How can you even start to talk? Talking to Dean used to be easy even when it got hard and now you’re feeling like a lost kid in a supermarket. Your snide thinking spells out his name with venom, saying it isn’t easy for you to open your barmy mouth and spill out contrarian shit because this isn’t Dean, just another meaningless symbolism that Sam promises that will help. The real Dean died almost a year ago, he was burned in a hunter’s funeral, the flames dancing over his body as the smell of burnt meat invaded your nostrils. Whenever you try to remember his fragrance, that manly aroma which you loved to scent each morning, all your brain can come up with is the odor of his skin and guts burning. The smell lingers like bad perfume, it doesn’t matter how many times you wash yourself with his soap-- that only broke your heart worse.

But today is Dean’s birthday. He deserves a visit, even if it’s not him. Then you go and attempt to deal with the desolation, push it away just a little, and pick up something from the enormous pile of things you wish to tell Dean. You glance at the cold tombstone: Dean Winchester. 1979 - 2020. Beloved son, big brother, and husband. Hunter. A hero. Simple definitions that can never make it up for who he was and what he meant. You purse your lips and cough a little, a gentle wind touches your cheek so tenderly. If you were still a believer, you’d think this is some sort of sign, Dean’s presence or some other pious hoax. All you do now is to remain in quietude, a deep breath. Ultimately, your voice comes:

‘’You didn’t make it to forty two, huh?’’ You scoff humorless, reminiscing to the multiple days that Dean said he wouldn’t go past 35. He did live each year like it was the last--- you aren’t sure if it's such a good thing. If you carry on like your days are outnumbered, you are silently entertaining yourself until death's knock on your door. ‘’I always hated when you were right. Let’s be honest, you had the words of a pessimist and the wants of an optimist. Still, if you were to be right about something, it would be about a bad situation. A nest with too many vampires, how crappy the motel’s bedroom would be, or how that third glass of wine would make me tipsy. So yeah, I always hated when you were right. And look at you now! You aren’t right, you aren’t wrong. You are dead! And I’m the crazy girl screaming at an empty tombstone.’’

You let out a laugh empty of joy. That’s how a hunter’s life is: you die and people stop talking about you because it’s too sad or too long gone to hold any pity, meanwhile the ones who recall about you go loud with all the spirits in their heads. You put your hand in the pockets of the heavy leather jacket that once belonged to a green eyed man who would be turning 42 today, some strange force causing you to speak again.

‘’Wow.’’ You shake your head to the blue way you paint the scene until you notice that you never greeted him. ‘’Hey.’’ The simple word adds a comical insult to injury. ‘’Guess the dead don’t care about manners, huh?’’ You arch your eyebrows with a grin that demonstrates anything but happiness. ‘’Miracle died. Sam digged a hole next to the bunker and buried him there. He isn’t the same since you died, you know? Not the deceased dog-- Well, he wasn’t the same either. Always whining and scratching your door like a fucking cat, and sniffing your old boots. He made me company in your bed and I whined as much as he did when you didn’t come back home that day. He stood by the door most days, waiting for you to appear. I can’t judge him, I did the same.’’ You shrug, not caring about how risible that confession may look. It's true. You became as irrational as a loyal dog at some point in this sorrow. ‘’And Sam, your baby brother… I think he died with you right there, Dean. He didn’t try to bring you back as he promised, but I shouted and screamed so much. I said I would burn the bunker and throw Baby over a cliff if he didn’t-- if he didn’t let me try. I lived up to the mad woman title.’’

You are crestfallen, pacing on top of where the eldest Winchester - Sam’s brand new nomination - supposedly was buried. You know your boots barely touch an infected land, there's no deceased man under your steps. The dead thing is in you.

‘’I spent days dragging your body everywhere and nowhere, anywhere I could catch a crumb of relief in hope to bring you back. But I couldn’t. Jack could, but that ungrateful idiot doesn’t wanna follow his grandpa steps and get too attached to mere humans, the creation or whatever. As if we are just some skin and bone to him, as if you are just another human.’’

You sit down on the tombstone, some tender solace in being close to a thing that's supposed to represent him, like sleeping hugged to a pillow or waking up to a photograph of his. Your nails sink against the gelid concrete at the thought of screaming into the sky for the new God that seemed as deaf as the last one. His calm answer to your burning pain. How he dared to tell you he knew what he was doing— as if he was the original lord and not a three years old. You can't make him do it, so you hold on the fury of some overthrown nation.

‘’Anyway, I couldn’t bring you back. Your body, well, you know how human anatomy works. Your body started to smell like death. We tried to stop with human and magic ways, and it wouldn’t work because you were dead. You should’ve seen the doctor’s face when we got you in that fancy hospital tha night. I think we traumatized the doctor with so much violence and trauma. She didn’t even give us a false hope or anything, you know? She just asked about organ donation of what was left. She just wanted to take every little thing out of you, as if you were just another accident on a Tuesday night.’’ Your shake your head as the memories and your points start to mix, it's hard to discern things and keep a straight line when you have an open wound in your insides. ‘’Well, they couldn’t bring you back to life, and neither could Rowena or whatever I looked for. Don’t be mad because I tried, Winchester. You know I’m too stubborn for my own good. I had to try.’’ you refuse to apologize, yet adds the playful words in his eulogy. ‘’But then your body started to stink and God, how could I continue to be so violent to your corpse? That was when I decided to listen to you for the first time and to Sam, so I let you go. I hate you for asking that.’’ What an ambiguous, contradictory truth to bare. You are glimpses of a person for months because of Dean Winchester, still have the energy to argue his selfless logic, just to love him even more. He's got your devotion, but man you can hate him sometimes. ‘’I hate you for going on that stupid hunt. I hate you for being dead, you giant idiot that I love so much.’’ You can't bring your mouth to say loved. "I was always telling you to let the past go and now I’m in love with a dead thing. What a comic way to end our history. I told you that Miracle died, right? I don’t know if dogs go to heaven, but I hope he’s in there with you. I wonder what your heaven is like. I bet it has Whiskey.''

Your dry chuckle makes your notice the tears in your eyes, glistening your orbs as they go like a waterfall to be absorbed by the thirsty land after leaving your cheeks.

"Sam and I-- We tried to make some sense out of this cruelty, but we can’t. You are dead and I can’t seem to put it past me. I still sleep in your bed, and I can still taste your body burning on the roof of my mouth in the quiet nights. I cried this morning because someone asked for a burger, can you believe that? It was so stupid since I used to shake my head and argue with you about cholesterol. Suddenly I was crying at lunch in a restaurant because some stupid kid asked for a burger with extra bacon. They sang Happy birthday to this dumbass child, and I interrupted with my awful crying, and wished that you were celebrating your birthday and not that kid. I guess you could say I wish death upon an innocent child with a problematic eating routine.’’ That was a whole new level of low, as if you are the one wrapped with the sentiment of laying six feet under.

‘’Everyone tells you about how grief is singular and particular with similar emotions that bring people who went through this together. They even have that crap stages thing and all that. You know what they don’t tell you?’’ Your mouth shuts for a moment, like you are waiting some response. You nod as if whatever you were expecting is handed to you. ‘’Grief can be fucking ridiculous. Who cries because of a burger full of oil and cardiac diseases? Who cries because they found a grocery store recipe under her dead boyfriend’s bed? Who falls on the ground screaming in the middle of the mall because they saw a flannel? Who? Those things are so stupid.’’ You smile like there's no tomorrow and the laugh leaving your lips is a treacherous tone. Perhaps you just aren't build up to express joy anymore. ‘’You see it in the movies and in the books and you think, you know, you think to yourself that grieving is being sad on special dates and randomly remembering the loved ones because of some screaming memory, like a flannel or their perfume. Thing is, it’s not just that. All your body seems so small, so tight for all the ache and agony inside it. Your senses go wild, you are not just one person in one place. You’re just the pain everywhere, like being pulled apart and you beg to jump in the fucking grave with them. At least you would be together, at least you would feel like one person and not suffering edges of a broken earthy thing. And--And you start remembering things you didn’t even know you had mesmerized. I look at the ceiling and remember you saying you’d paint it someday. I look at the kitchen and remember me screaming at you for giving Miracle the rest of the food. I smell Sam’s clothes and started crying because hey, they don’t smell like alcohol. You don’t iron them while drinking anymore, so of course they don’t smell like cheap beer.’’ You are chuckling through the tears and it only makes it more monstrous. ‘’Everything is you now that you are gone. Every man has something similar to you, every garden is green as your eyes, and each step sounds like you are coming home. They didn’t prepare me, not for this.’’ You said breathless. A soft single follows. The knife cuts both ways; the empty breeze and the words hurt. Where's the middle term? Where's the limbo? Where's the only safe place for you to rest your weary head?

Out of nowhere, you blurt out, ‘’I can’t masturbate,’’ I know it’s something stupid and even selfish to say, but I think you’d like to know. I can’t masturbate. That’s a part of the whole losing someone process that people are too ashamed to discuss, or maybe they don’t have the urge to be touched anymore because after someone you love dies, after someone-- the hands who touched are dead and cold, you become a haunted object. That’s how I feel most days, like I’m a haunted house because you touched me and now you’re dead and some days I believe I am too.’’ You look around the places. It's beautiful. It's lonely. It has trees and flowers and green. Not as green as Dean's eyes, but it doesn't matter anymore. He doesn't even have eyes at this point. ‘’Well, I can’t masturbate. I can’t touch myself. And I can’t ask someone else either. I tried and ended up punching the guy, Dean. I swear. I panicked when he was between my legs and just punched his nose. You’d have liked it, you were always the jealous kind. I won’t admit that, but I thought it was kinda hot. Especially when you got possessive in sex.’’ A dirty grin appeared on your lips, the echoes of luxury lasting in your eyes for a brief moment. ‘’I don’t think I can be cared for anymore, honestly. Sam tried to hug me when Miracle died and I… It was like I wasn't there. I got frozen in time, and I live in my sleep. In my nightmares you are alive. I dream about the day you died every week and I used to wake up screaming, but now those nightmares are the only proof you were alive now that you’re as dead as the police report says this time. It was the most painful, calamitous moment for you and I swear it was a nightmare for me, but then I realized that at least I had you there, egoistical or not, I made my nightmare into a dream.’’ You aren't sure which opinion Dean would have on that. Would he understand? Would he shake his head? You wish you can ask him just this one more thing, just beg him to write it down for you on how to be without him here.

You raise on your feet, glaring at the name craved in the concrete. The tears go by still, although they're as usual as the blood in glir veins at this point. ‘’Death is so silly. What it takes, anyway?" Each word conquers more inches of pure wrath. ''People die because they stumbled on their own feet and hit their head somewhere, or they drove their car too close and too fast to the cliff, or because they were giving birth, or because they dated the wrong person, or because they were hunting a fucking vampire and got impaled. What are the chances? How stupid, and idiotic is death? Always creeping and waiting to bite and chew a piece of you-- Taking every scrap of you from me like that’s its right.’’ You are screaming, starting to kick and punch the tombstone with any piece of straight you have. Your limbs hurt and the blood is visible, but you keep going. ‘’YOUR STUPID DOG DIED, DEAN! AND YOU DIED! AND I DIED! SAMMY DIED! YEAH, IS SAID SAMMY! GO AHEAD, TELL ME ONLY YOU CAN CALL HIM THAT.’’ Another punch, your knuckles are ripped. Another kick, your boot as a hole. ‘’DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.’’ Kick. ‘’SAMMY, SAMMY, SAMMY!’’ A punch to each name. Anything to get a reaction, to get comfort. Anything. ‘’YOU CAN’T BECAUSE YOU ARE DEAD.’’ Gasping for something you don't need anymore, sweet oxygen, your eyes are on the tombstone again. And the definitions. And the trees. Your body is sore and aching. It is the kind and coercion no person wants which you needed; the freedom of feeling outside the exact pain that was inside. ‘’You can’t because you are dead. I’ve been playing some sick games in my mind, you know? Sam stopped hunting and had his closure. He was always better at letting go than you and I, but he’s still hurting. I never saw him hurting so much. I think he knows you won’t come back this time, how could you make us promise something like that? Well, my twisted game is a bunch of misleading what ifs. What if you hadn’t gone after John? What if you hadn’t gone on that last hunt? What if you had stayed with Lisa? At first I didn’t like her much. Jealous, I admit that. But she grew on me. She gave you something I couldn’t back then and I’ll always be thankful for that. And even though it would rip me apart, I’d rather you to die at sixth after living your suburban dream with her. Have another kid besides Ben, maybe a girl this time, and just have that apple pie life. You and Sam would live close and your kids would always play. They’d be as close as brothers. Maybe I’d get a guy and bring my own kids and we could’ve a barbecue and everyone would be happy. But we don’t get soft epilogues here. It ends how it starts, right? Bloody and desperate. I thought maybe, maybe Lisa could understand what’s going through my head now. I drove to her new address and parked close to her house. I must have spent hours there, thinking if I should come in or not, If she somehow remembered after Castiel died or if I could make her brain work again if I told her the truth. But then I just drove back home and fell asleep wrapped in that stupid lumberjack flannel of yours. The one I always mocked, yeah? She may understand me, but I know you wouldn’t want that. You want her, you want me and Sam to be happy. I don’t know if I can do that, Dean. It’s like myt brittle soul shrewd and my body is just waiting to collapse.’’ You signed, overwhelmed by the battle without an anthem. The victory with no triumph. Is it still a win when you don't have someone to come home too? ‘’Your dog died, it’s the first birthday you didn’t live to see, and I bought all the things you told Mrs Butters you wanted for your birthday because it’s your birthday. I just don’t know how to celebrate it with you dead. People stop counting after they die, right? They just say he’d have been 42 or he died at 41. They give melancholy smiles when they wake up and check the day on their phones and a woe atmosphere swallows them for the rest of the day. Then they get better the next day. I think everyday is your birthday.’’ You attempt to wipe away your tears, which only causes your pulsating hand to stain your face red. ‘’Dean, for the first time, what died stayed dead! Congrats.’’ Once again, a hysterical laugh. ‘’I wish but no. What died didn’t stay dead, you are alive, so alive in my head. I swear you are there some days. I wake and watch the door, so sure you’ll come back. Sam says I’m living in delusion and I have to wake up and keep going since that's what you would want. That's enough to make him keep going, but it only makes me angry. Everyone we know and some strangers looks at me like I'm a house on fire and no longer a warm home, like I'm a car accident. They think I don't notice but I do.’’ You look at your boots, the whole is rolling out blood like your hands. You feel closer to Dean. How sick.

‘’Help, I’m still right where you left me." You plea, his love lingering like a bruise. ''I think gravity is overwhelming and it keeps me here. Sometimes it’s like I’m one of those dusted books Sam used to read. Or those Bukowski ones that you hid, so we wouldn’t see how smart you’re. You tried so hard to hide your intelligence because you didn’t think you were entitled to it. You saw yourself as the protector and never the valuable one for protection. You, the man who made an EMF out of an old radio, who rebuilt the Impala from the ground multiple times, and who knew patterns better than any detective. The man who showed me I could rely on someone other than myself. The dude with a lopsided grin, tough hands and a heart of gold. I miss you so much. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were singing all those classic rock songs and Taylor Swift pop hits, while I drove here. I would think you were home, smelling like guts because you wanted to eat before taking a shower after a hunt. I would think that you are in the Deancave, waiting for me to curl up on your lap to watch Scooby Doo or Doctor Sexy MD until we aren’t watching anymore. If I didn’t know better I would think no death could take you from me. There would be no tear us apart in our vows.’’ The only thing that keeps your organism working is that Dean died knowing how much you loved him. You never let this talk for later or never. No tomorrow is promised. That's a nice comfort, maybe that's what will help you to let go in the future. ‘’But yesterday your stupid, skink dog died and I lost the last living thing that I had from you. You know what’s more angerting? I cried and Sam cried and I noticed we were the living things you left behind and all we have is each other. All your closets of backlogged dreams were left for us-- so yeah. Sam is done hunting and he’s met a lovely girl, and they are moving in like in your domestic dreams. I’m taking care of the family business like your other contradictory dream and making sure Sam is safe enough to be normal. Because I have to, we have too. Stupidly enough, I still wait for the day you’ll burst out the door and tell us to hit the road again. I still watch every episode of your dumb tv shows to make sure I’ll know everything that happened when you ask. I still drive around in your car and close my eyes when the street is calm, only picturing you driving as Baby’s engineers go wild but those are my hands on the steering wheel. If I didn't know better, I’d think you are still around. But I know better. I still feel you all around. I love you.’’

Your monologuing ends as astutely as it stated. You get up, press a kiss to your ruined for the next weeks hands and place it on the rock with writings. You turn around and walk back to the car that you parked near, only in case of Dean wanting to see Baby. How knows? You and your clandestine faith. You lick your lip and get in the car.

You swear you the AC/DC cassette wasn't there before, but when you turn on the car and the radio it starts playing. It's the first true smile that comes to your mouth, it's bloodstained and you look like a shameless woman. With that you can deal.

It hurts a bearable hurt for now. You didn't think it was possible. Maybe someday.

The end.

(she takes a little longer to arive in heaven than sammy. his baby brother says that women are most likely to live around six years more than men. it doesn't ease him up, though. dean waited sam for too long, his platonic soulmate. and now he has to wait his romantic one too? the eldest Winchester considers it the best earthly present when the he sense you around, that smell of orange and apples. it's you, he knows before even turning around. he can't wait to love you again. your name rolls off your tongue so naturally, as if you had seen each other just yesterday: ‘’hey, y/n.’’)

But then again, nothing ever really ends, does it?

Starburst's footnote: It just didn't feel right to make an author's note on the top. I wanted it all only to be an arrow to the story. So, this is my side note: it's six am and I'm up writing this after inspiration kissed me with a bruise in the middle of the night. Or more like grabbed my throat. Anyway, I had to write and finish this one to post today, even pushing sleep aside. Hey, we are writers, that's what we do! I've been watching the show since I was eleven and I cried like a baby with the finale. This series was just so important and crucial to molde aspects of relationships for me. L DRUNK DIALED ME AGAIN

Ok so I was seeing this asshole dude (a running trend is that every man in my life is an ass) and I called L bc I was really sad one night bc the guy was just being weird. Anyway so I call L and he doesn't answer and I left a voicemail. And then L called me back and I was like WTF. So I answer even though I'm in the car with my best friend going through a drive thru because it's not normal that he calls me back and who knows when the next time I'll hear his voice is. So I answer and he tells me "sounds like this guy has some serious issues, you should just break things off" to which I responded that I would (and i did bc the guy and I are officially over). Anyway so he puts his wife on the phone and she tells she LOVES ME? I was like 👀 thinking..."ummmm I love your husband." Jk jk. Shes a very nice and kind lady and we had a good convo. Although her telling me she loves me is a bit weird since we have met like twice. Anyway, L gets back on the phone and asked me why I called him the previous week. But LIKE WHAT. Remember how it was his birthday? And he called me? At like midnight?

So I was like "oh I just called because you called ME and I wanted to wish you a happy birthday."

And he was like "oh shit, that's so sweet, thank you."

So I asked, "how was the birthday by the way? Feeling like an old man yet?"

He responds, "oh come on, I always feel like an old man. Birthday was good. Had a few cocktails and then went home late that night."

So that acted like a confirmation. He HAD INDEED CALLED ME DRUNK OK? THAT NIGHT? DRUNK L ON HIS BDAY CALLED ME. The rest of the convo was catching up and I had to end the phone call. That was the first time we talked in almost 2.5 years. 😩

Ok also something really fucking weird happened today. So stay tuned for that. It was hella weird and I'd love some input.

author’s note: it’s way past your birthday but if you happened to see this hope you enjoyed your bday love!! this one’s a little long bc kinda got carried away with this idea

your heart is dancing in your chest as you drive down the street. which means you need to calm down because you’re really not trying to get in an accident, and even more so because…

without realizing it, your jittery fingers are tapping along to the soft beat of ‘home’ while you’re humming along to the chorus. normally you’d probably belting the lyrics to a song like ‘aju nice,’ but you can’t help but feel a little warm and nostalgic.

it’s your birthday, but not being a teenager anymore, your birthday itself doesn’t feel that important to you. it’s more of an excuse for you and your friends to get dressed up, go out to a semi-expensive restaurant, and take advantage of the free dessert. even if you had to endure the embarrassment of the waiting staff coming out to sing to you.

you wished your husband mingyu could’ve joined you, but he had an important rehearsal that couldn’t be missed. you stopped his apologies, telling him you truly didn’t mind and that it gave you a chance to celebrate twice.

so you’re on your way to the practice room, an hour before midnight, with food in the back seat for all the guys and a small, dainty gift for mingyu.

mingyu meets you at your car when you arrive, giving you a happy birthday kiss and begins taking the food out of the car.

“what’s this?” he asks, holding up the small box questionably.

snatching it from playfully, you teasingly poke your tongue out, “that’s for you to find out later.”

“hey, you’re doing this wrong! i’m supposed to be the one giving you a gift!”

you giggle, running away from him, knowing he can’t catch up with all that food in his arms.

your heart beats rapid, not out of nervousness but out of excitement and anticipation.

two weeks ago, you had found out you were pregnant. you and mingyu had been trying for six months and when one missed period led to a positive pregnancy test, you couldn’t feel happier.

the timing was perfect for announcing it while he was unaware and oblivious.

through all the food and the excitement the members make, mingyu easily forgets about the box and instead focuses completely on you. being a doting husband throughout the night, which makes it a thousand times harder to hide the secret.

“honey, you aren’t gonna drink?”

“i’m okay, i’m driving tonight anyways.” your smile must’ve been a little shaky because you notice a confused expression flash through his eyes before the smile sets back on his face, not questioning anything.

finally, when everyone has settled, just simply having a few drinks and light conversations, you take this moment to pull the box out of your purse.

“actually, I have one more thing.”

all eyes snap to you as you hand the box to mingyu who has a confused and flustered expression.

“why did you get me something? I didn’t need anything.”

you shake your head at him and grin, encouraging him to open the box.

your heart pounds as he pulls on the ribbon and searches through the tissue paper before finally holding up a tiny pair of socks, smalling than his own hand.

“y/n…” he says your name softly as his eyes read the embroidered words on the small, white socks. congratulations daddy.

before you can process a single movement of his, he has your in your arms, picking you up in his excitement for a tight hug.

the members around you at this point have read the socks mingyu dropped on the table and are cheering loudly with the hearts of proud uncles.

you can see is the joy in mingyu’s expression. he puts you down and stares into your eyes with stars in his eyes.

leaning in, he whispers a breathless “Happy Birthday” against your lips before pressing them on yours.

Weddings - Remus Lupin

Hi welcome back! I wanted to ask for a request since you are starting on December 14th and it's my bday that day so I'm like destiny😇 but my idea is for a wedding with reader and lupin on Christmas eve. During the day they are celebrating Christmas with their friends playing games eat food and wearing pjs and in the evening they get married in the snow? Wedding - Remus Lupin

It had been early that morning, while both of you were still in bed, that Remus had proposed. He knew you had strict rules against proposals happening on holidays and since it was technically, as he pointed out more than once in his speech, the day before Christmas, it was not a holiday and there was no reason for you to say no. That last bit he was absolutely correct about. There was no plausible reason in the world for you to deny such a request, not when you had been anxiously hoping for a proposal all along.

Remus had been planning for the proposal as long as you’d been waiting for it. He wanted it done the way he knew would mean the most to you and make you feel the most comfortable. The wedding, well, the wedding was a bit of a different story. The idea had sprung into your head as you laid there, staring at the ring Remus had picked out for you.

“I don’t want to wait to get married.” It was less of an idea and more of a thought. A problem that arose without warning. You couldn’t imagine going a whole year or two more, traversing through wedding plans and whether to include the muggle side of your family or just have a whole second wedding for their benefit.

“Well we could go to the ministry to see about a license on the 27th.” Remus offered, figuring that by then the idea of a white dress and dancing would pull you back in and you’d be postponing any irrational thought until well passed the new year.

“I don’t even want to wait that long.” You admitted. “Do you?”

“I want to be married as soon as fate allows us to be darling.” He replied.

“Good.” You kissed him briefly before getting out of bed.

“Good? What do you mean by that?” Remus asked, watching you move around the room as you got ready for the day. Once you were dressed there were presents to wrap, food to make, and decorations to finish before everyone arrived for the Christmas party you and Remus had agreed to hosting this year.

“I mean good.” You said, pausing to give him another kiss, “let’s get married tonight then.”

“Tonight?”

“At the party. Let’s get married at the party with all our friends.”

“Alright.”

The party was in full swing as you snuck into the hallway to collect your thoughts. Dinner had just finished and you had decided that this lull between dinner and dessert was the perfect time to go ahead with everything. You’d been keeping everyone out of the library were you’d set up every spare chair and couch you could find in the old house. A library on Christmas Eve was arguably the best place you could have hoped to be married, short notice or years of planning. It felt so much like you and Remus that you had to wonder if everything wasn’t working out exactly as it was supposed to.

“Are you sure about this?” Remus asked, coming into the hallway. He appeared anxious, which wasn’t entirely unusual when he was in high stress situations.

“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” You asked, “are you?” Suddenly the thought that your rushing head first into a makeshift wedding was not what he had in mind when he proposed this morning made its way into your brain.

“Of course.” Remus replied, his thumb gently rubbing the crook of your elbow. Easing your tensions. “You just seem...frazzled.”

“I’m just excited. But there’s nothing I want more than this. We’re with the people we love most and it’s Christmas eve, which is practically our anniversary.” You point out, smiling as Remus laughed.

“You rejecting that Slytherin 7th year and then asking me to Hogsmeade hardly counts as the beginning of our relationship.”

“Well I haven’t thought of anyone else since then Mr. Lupin, so you’re wrong.” You replied. “Now get out there...we have an announcement to make.”

Remus’ hand dropped to take yours, leading you back into the kitchen where your friends were gathered around, laughing and chatting with each other. The only one who knew what was going to happen tonight, besides you and Remus, was Frank Longbottom. As a ministry official he would be able to marry you and so you had owled him this morning about the plan, swearing him to secrecy until the perfect moment.

Now here it was, with Remus’ hand squeezing yours as you called for your friends’ attention. “We wanted to thank all of you for coming to celebrate the holiday with us...and we wanted to say that we have a bit of a surprise for you.”

“What is it?” Sirius asked, glancing around the room as if the surprise would jump out at him.

“Remus and I are getting married.” You replied, and before anyone could respond you clarified. “Tonight.”

“Tonight tonight?” Lily asked, “as in right now?”

“Yeah, right now. Frank has agreed to marry us.”

“I didn’t even know you were engaged.” She laughed, leaning back into James.

“Well, it just happened this morning.” Remus replied.

“If you’ll join us in the library.” You requested, leading the way into the hall. Behind you there was a scraping of chairs against the wooden floor as guests got up to follow you and Remus into the library.

There was a brief debate over whether you and he should go ahead and start the ceremony or whether you should walk down the aisle. After finally agreeing to Lily’s insistence that you do walk down the aisle you let Sirius give you away and James placed himself beside Remus, unofficial best man.

“You would be best man at my wedding.” James had stated.

“Hey!” There was a brief protest by Sirius that threatened to side track the whole impromptu wedding. You weren’t having any of that. What you’d said to Remus early had been true, any amount of waiting to be married of him was too much and right now you were filled with nervous anxiety, desperately hoping to be married already.

“Boys! Can we please stay focused.” You demanded.

“Alright, alright.” Sirius led you down the aisle to whatever song had been scrounged up to play on the record machine. It was something soft, probably some muggle jazz that Remus liked to read to. The walk down the makeshift aisle was short but you kept your eyes on your future husband the entire time, unable to contain your smile.

At the end of the aisle you took his hands in yours, standing so you were facing each other as Frank performed the ceremony. It felt like it went quicker than you expected, the end creeping up on you as Remus pulled you into a kiss. He had pointed out earlier in the morning that all you had was an engagement ring and you’d promised that after the holiday you’d buy wedding rings. You’d have to explain to your mother and father tomorrow why you’d gotten married without them present anyway. As you pulled away from Remus you faintly heard Frank’s proclamation that you were officially married. Your eye had caught the window over Remus’ shoulder.

“It’s snowing.” You mumbled.

“What?” Remus turned to look at the window. The snow illuminating the night and making it look midday outside. “So it is.” He smiled before grabbing you and hoisting you up.

“Remus!” You laughed, “put me down!”

“We’re going to celebrate with a snowball fight!” He laughed, “don’t you know, it’s not a proper marriage unless I beat my newlywed in a good old-fashioned snowball fight.”

“I think you’re making that up!” You laughed.

“I would never lie to you.” He replied, placing your feet back on the ground and grabbing a handful of snow, throwing it at you.

Your friends dashed out of the house after you, snow flying as they started up throwing snowballs at each other. You managed a couple Remus’ way, hitting him in the back once. While you were busy attacking James and Sirius he came up behind you, grabbing your waist and pulling you against him, kissing your cheek.

“Merry Christmas darling.”

“Merry Christmas Remus.” You replied, tilting your head back so that you could kiss your new husband.

A day not to forget

Pairing: Eruri (with a hint of Eremika)

“Ok, I'm on my way. Thanks, Pieck.”

Levi hung up the phone. His daughter's teacher had called him to tell about the fight his 4-year-old little girl had gotten into, and that was something he wasn't willing to allow. Not again.

“Hey, Moblit, could you take charge while I'm gone? I'm going to Mikasa's school,” he said quickly, walking out of the kitchen of his tea shop while taking off his apron. His blond-haired partner nodded, cleaning a coffee pot.

“Is your little lady in trouble again?” Moblit said, giggling. Levi frowned. “Hey, I didn’t say anything. It's ok. I'll take charge.”

“Thanks,” Levi wasn't slow to get out of there and get into his car. This wasn't the first time Mikasa's teacher called him for this, but it seemed that this time it had been worse. Miss Pieck talked about blood and bruises and scratches, letting him know it was urgent. He drove, as fast as the traffic allowed, because he knew his daughter's fists could be quite dangerous.

Well, after all, he had taught her how to fight himself. So it wasn't entirely her fault.

“Papa!” Mikasa's little and high-pitched voice made him look at the spot where she was, her dress ripped, hair a mess and fists stained with some bloody marks. Next to her, four little boys also stood; the first and littlest one: a blond, skinny little boy with his round face all beaten. The second one, a green-eyed, messy brown-haired boy with his face swollen and a look of anger. The other two were much worse: their noses bleeding and their skin all scratched and beaten, much, much worse than the blond one's. Levi couldn't help but gasp at the sight. He wasn't the only adult in the room: Miss Pieck, Principal Zoe and the other boys' parents were there too.

“May I know what happened, Miss?”

The tale was told. The two other boys had bullied Armin, the little blond boy, Eren wishing to defend his friend jumped in, ending up all beaten, until Mikasa came to their rescue and punched the bullies, taking them out of game. Her teacher was as astonished as she was indignant to see all this little girl's strength, while the other parents were trying to ask what was up to her...

Levi just picked her up, trying to clean her face.

“You should teach your daughter some manners, sir. And how to be a lady!” yelled the mom of one of the bullies, making Levi get mad.

“At least I can teach my daughter something. I honestly doubt your thuggish son can even learn how to write his name down.”

The outraged mother was about to reply back, but Principal Zoe intervened before a hell could break loose.

“Well, we aren't here to fight but to solve this. So if any of you have some -” The Principal's voice was interrupted when someone opened the door. A tall, blond and blue-eyed man approached them, taking off his coat and hat, as if he had just run a marathon. Armin's little voice rose over the place when he screamed to his papa to pick him up.

“Oh, good Lord, Armin! What happened to you?” Erwin said, all worried. And the story was told to him too, but an argument broke out, finishing as soon as Miss Zoe put an end to it by punishing all the five children. The bullies' parents quickly took their kids, yelling in disagreement as they made their way out. Carla Jaeger, Eren's mom, couldn't be more ashamed and annoyed, but Erwin tried to calm her down the best he could.

“Mrs, this isn't your son's fault. I guess my son needs to learn how to stand up for himself.”

“I’ve told him several times, not to solve things this way, but he never listens,” Carla said with a harsh voice, ironing her son's clothes with her hand. “Anyway, at least I could finally meet Eren's friends. He talks a lot about them. See you soon, gentlemen. My son and I have to go home.” she stated, grabbing Eren's arm. But his other hand was tightly enclosed in Mikasa's.

“I don't want him to go, Papa,” the little girl said, not letting go of her friend's hand. She looked at her dad with puppy eyes, while Eren did the same with his mom. But their looks had no effect on their parents.

“You'll see him tomorrow, Mikasa. Now let go. Eren needs to go home.”

With sadness and tears staining her dark gray eyes, Mikasa set Eren free, as he did to her. Eren waved her and Armin goodbye, trying not to cry until his friends were out of sight.

“Bye, Armin. Bye, Mika,” the little boy said. And he didn't stop looking at her until she disappeared behind the wall when his mom turned right to leave the building and take him home.

Erwin sighed, staring at his little boy's harmed face, worried.

“Honestly, I don't know how a child can do this to another. Makes no sense to me.”

Levi walked out, followed by the blond man and his son.

“I guess some people were just born stupid. I won't scold my daughter for doing what should be done,” Levi said scornfully, a deadpan expression marking his eyebrows. Erwin laughed to himself at how tough this little man seemed to be, despite his height. “And you're right, you need to teach your son how to defend himself.”

“Well, he's just four. I didn't think it was necessary.”

“For Mikasa, it is. You never know when our little shits can find some assholes who thinks they can mess with them. She knows she always has to be one step ahead.”

Armin covered his mouth, amazed at all the bad words he just heard from the black-haired man's speech. Erwin winked at his son, not making a big fuss about it.

“Now I see why my Armin talks a lot about your daughter. She's like a hero to him. And I'm glad for it. My son is not good at making friends.”

“Yeah, Armin is my best friend and Eren too. Right, Armin?” Mikasa said, her little chubby and pale hand trying to catch his friend's. But Levi made her stay in her place in his arms. Armin nodded, his face too hurt to smile.

“I think your son needs medical attention, and these pair of shitheads a good slap. Tch. What kind of parents do they have? Good-for-nothing assholes?”

Armin covered his mouth again. Erwin tried not to laugh. His son wasn't used to hear all these curses in a row.

“Can you, please, curse less? For the children's sake...”

“I think children need to learn the rawness of the real world as soon as they're born.” Levi replied. He was never a kind man, and he never gave a damn about other's opinion. But Erwin never seemed annoyed. On the contrary, he thought that the short man's roughness was quite respectable and amussing.

“I wonder what your wife says when she hears that, Mr...”

“Ackerman. But you can call me Levi. And no, I have no wife. It's just my daughter and I.”

“Oh, I see. Single dad. I'm sorry.”

“Nothing to be sorry about.”

“Mama died,” Mikasa said, giving zero damns if her father scolded her or not. Armin said his part too.

“Mama left us. She never came back,” the boy commented as they all made her way to the highway.

“Better this way: just the two of us. Right, my little prince?” Erwin kissed his son's forehead, making him wince slightly. It started raining. Levi walked with Mikasa to his car, while Erwin decided to wait for a taxi in the edge of the sidewalk.

“Hey, you two, get in,” the steel-eyed man said, waving at them. Erwin hesitated, but he walked to the vehicle too, getting Armin in the backseat before going to the passenger's. Levi could be a rough man, but he wasn't a bad one. “I own a tea shop and we're going there. You can treat your son's wounds when we get there and I'll give you two something warm to drink. The little man will get better soon.”

“Thank you for this,” Erwin said, staring at his profile. Meanwhile, Mikasa and Armin seemed happy to be next to each other, inside her dad's car. “It seems you don't need a wife at all. You have a strong young lady back there.”

“You don't need a wife either. Your brat seems to be a nice one.”

Erwin smiled, the blue of his eyes shining when he looked back to watch over his son. Levi turned right and the corner of his eye couldn't help get caught in that smile.

Damn smile. In a way, Erwin's thick eyebrows made him look less kind than he really was.

But pretty handsome. Levi Ackerman cursed himself for thinking like that about a man he had just met.

Erwin thought that he didn't need a wife, but maybe, maybe, a husband wouldn’t be bad. Possibly one like the man who drove them. He shook his head at his thought, laughing on the inside for being so hasty.

Honestly, none of them could imagine that this was just the beginning of a peculiar journey, where Mikasa and Armin could end up being siblings.

This little was the world, and these crazy circumstances could turn out to be.

They made their way to the tea shop with subtle smiles drawn on their lips, their children soon forgetting the skirmish they had gotten into before.

A day not to forget.

Camping with Jeno

A/N had to get how much i love this boi off my chest yes i’ve already written a spontaneous camping trip with johnny, shoot me -Admin Ay

Warnings: a bit of profanity, like always

Originally planned the trip for your bday bc of an aesthetic pic of nature you retweeted on twitter

WAS SUPPOSED to be a surprise but he told donghyuck and he couldn’t keep his mouth shut so you found out like 3 days earlier than you were supposed to

Which you were lowkey thankful about bc??? Who likes spontaneous camping trips? No one that’s sane and doesn’t like disasters

Anyway when he calls you to tell you about it on the weekend of youre birthday you feign ignorance to it all

cause if you didn’t he would get all pouty (is that a word) and as cute as he is, you also don’t want him sulking the whole time

and once he hangs up all giggly and satisfied you pull out all your pre-packed bags from your closet and wait for him to pick you up in the short amount of time he gave you until he dropped by to pick you up

HONESTLY how does he think 30 minutes is long enough for you to pack you can tell he’s never went camping before

once he gets to your house he won’t shut up about all the plans for you

“you’ll love it y/n we’ll go and hike a trail and look at nature and it will be SO beautiful okay trust me”

and then you both throw all your stuff into the car trunk and hop into the car

the whole time in the car you both spend your time belting out the lyrics to mcr songs???

jeno hadn’t ever came across as a fan of them so you were sorta shook when he started performing to “welcome to the black parade”

you would later find out it was all taeyong’s doing

okay so you get to the campsite right

and it’s really not deep in the woods like you were thinking?

it’s just a few acres of trees there is LITERALLY a walmart 2 miles away and trailer park a few meters across from your site okay

you both decide to put up the tent first before doing anything else and you swear it took an hour to do because, as said before jeno has no experience and he was adamant on being the one to do all the work

“hey jeno let me do it i’ve done this before”

“nO IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY I REFUSE TO LET YOU LIFT A FINGER”

instead you just socialize with some of your neighbors a few yards apart with a half eaten chip bag that you stole from jeno’s back seat

they were stale but you were hungry so whatever

there was this 80 yr old lady camping with her husband and honestly she was such a bad ass okay she told you a lot of survival tips

you didn’t remember any of them but it was still fun!

anyway when jeno finishes he calls you back over to start your little trail hike

it was really refreshing with all the change in scenery

the sun peaked over the trees and you heard several species of birds chirping out of vision

there was this one mockingbird that kept copying jeno’s whistling

it was cute until the sun started setting and you could barely see anything

“JENO THAT IS THE THIRD SPIDER WEB I’VE RUN INTO TODAY I SWEAR TO GOD I CAN FEEL SOMETHING CRAWLING ON ME !”

“it’s fine y/n i don’t see anything on you”

jeno kept laughing until HE ran into one

“okay jesus i want out”

“sEE”

“i don’t think we’re that far away from the exit anyway”

at this point you were this close to just hopping into jeno’s arms and letting him carry you the rest of the way

something kept slithering around in the corner of your eye and you’d be damned if you got bit in the ankle by a snake on your birthday that wasn’t happening ok

you saw a sign marked “exit” and bolted from the place you were hiding behind jeno towards it

he took what felt like 5 years to join you outside the trail

now you were exhausted both emotionally and physically and wanted to chill by a warm fire since it had gotten a bit chilly

on your way back to the site jeno kept crawling his hands up and down your back and each time you felt like jumping out of your skin

“i swear to god i will feed you to a bear stop doing that”

jeno giggled and jogged up to the fire pit to start a (duh) fire

he would make sparks but not start an actual fIRE so you tried to do it instead but he refused and wanted to do it himself

“jeno lee hurry up i am cold if you can’t do it just say so”

“it’s fine just give me 5 more minutes”

“5 more minutes??? you said that 20 minutes ago. i’m getting debra”

“whomst is debra”

“the little old lady i was talking to earlier that would prob be better at this then you”

“i doubt it”

turns out debra WAS better at it

jeno kept sulking and you cooed at how cute he looked

“awww it’s okay come cuddle me next to the fire”

you didn’t have to convince him he practically zoomed to your side

commence clingy!jeno who would NOT move his head from it’s position on your shoulder.

and honestly you had no problem with it

you had to struggle to keep your eyes open with how comfy you felt

the stars twinkled in the sky

and the moon stained your surroundings a cool blue

while the fire’s reflection glowed in jeno’s eyes as he mumbled about something that happened to him the day before to fill the silence of the night

you would say it was a pretty nice way to celebrate your birthday

Hi again! The drabble you wrote for me about Robert watching Aaron sleep was brilliant and everything I hoped for!!! I was wondering if you could do another one if you have the time? I wasn't expecting much Robron from todays episode, but I was hoping for at least a conversation about them leaving. Like Robert making sure that Aaron would be ok missing counseling for a few weeks, and maybe Aaron pointing out not only can they see Liv, but also a honeymoon, anniversary and Rob's bday trip. Thanks

Anon, i’m sorry this took me almost as long as their honeymoon’s lasted to write this for you - but hope this is what you were after and you enjoy it as much as the last one :)

Robert stood in the doorway totheir bedroom at the pub, watching his husband for the few precious momentsbefore Aaron realised he was there. He was fiddling with the zip on hisbattered sports bag that Robert assumed he was intending to use as his suitcase.

He smirked at the ridiculousnessthat was his husband.

Honestly, the thing didn’t evenhave wheels.

He let his eyes linger for longerthan was necessary – or not long enough, if you were asking Robert – his eyestravelling down the length of his husband’s body, biting down on his lip as hisgaze rested on that arse. That arse.

He could stare at it for days.

Aaron stood at the end of theirbed, oblivious to his audience of one in the doorway of their bedroom until hegave up wrestling with the broken zip and threw the bag down onto the floor ina rage, twisting around to reach for another rucksack on the top of hiswardrobe and jumping half out of his skin at the lingering figure of hishusband stood leaning against the doorframe.

“Fucks sake, Robert,” he beratedhim, with half a smirk on his face.

It would always be the best sortof surprise, after all, to find Robert stood in his bedroom doorway.

“What you doing staring youweirdo,” Aaron teased, circling around the bed to place a hand on Robert’swaist and kiss on his left cheek.

Robert couldn’t help the smilewhich appeared over his face involuntarily.

“I see suitcases,” Robert smiled,looking at Aaron with a glint in his eye.

“That you do,” Aaron confirmedwith a smile.

“Does this mean what I think itmeans?”

“That I need a new suitcase?”Aaron asked playfully, eyebrows raised and lips upturned into a sarcasticsmile.

“You spoke to your probationofficer?” Robert corrected him with a half an eye-roll.

“Oh yeah, that,” Aaron reminded himself.“I called him, he said it’s not standard practice and usually I wouldn’t beable to leave the country until my probation time was up – “

“But…”

“But, I might have laid it on abit thick about Sandra. Might have said she’s basically a mum to me – ”

“You fraud,” Robert teased.

“Yep,” Aaron smirked, “but itworked, and he said yes, as long as I keep in touch, so it looks we’re going onthat honeymoon.”

Robert couldn’t resist it whenAaron gave him that smile that he had plastered over his face right now,leaning in and stealing a lingering kiss from his lips.

“You best get spending all thatcash of yours then and book us some flights,” Aaron spoke into his kiss, eyesstill closed as Robert’s nose rubbed lightly against his own.

He opened his eyes to find Robertlooking back at him, a hint of something in his gaze that Aaron couldn’t quitedecipher.

“What?” he asked gently,concerned all of a sudden by the shift in his husband’s demeanour.

Robert sighed, pulling backslightly but keeping his palms attached to Aaron’s elbows, fingers tickling alongthe hairs on his forearms gently.

“You’ll be missing yourcounselling,” Robert stated; a question in his statement somewhere.

Aaron didn’t reply, just dippedhis head to focus on the floor at their feet as he sighed.

Robert leant forwards and kissedthe top of his head instinctively.

“I don’t want to set you back, or–”

“Getting away from here won’t setme back, not at all,” Aaron interrupted, snapping his head back up to lookRobert in the eye again as he continued with conviction. “I’m sat here worryingabout Liv and my mum, and it’ll do me good to see them. I’m not ready to goback to work, yet, not really. I’ve got constant reminders here of the ways I’vescrewed up recently,”

Robert hoped the flicker ofrecognition he felt settle uncomfortably in the pit of his stomach wasn’t noticeable.

“I’ll start up my counselling assoon as we’re back, I promise,” Aaron continued. “It really helped when youcame along with me last session,” he added quietly.

Robert smiled at him, ignoringthe flicker of guilt lying low in his stomach about why he’d been late to thatfirst session; the feeling a constant presence for him now, it seemed.

Still, he’d rather shoulder theburden of that guilt himself than have Aaron suffer through the pain of knowingwhat he did.

“Good, you know I’ll be there forall of them, if you need me to be,” Robert reassured him.

Aaron smiled; grateful in a wayhe didn’t have the words for.

He leant in and placed a kissagainst Robert’s lips instead.

“Honestly, Rob,” Aaron added ashe pulled away from the kiss, “spending a couple of weeks with you, having aproper honeymoon, seeing my mum, and Liv, and having nothing else to worryabout for a few weeks – I can’t think of anything I need more than that rightnow.”

Robert sighed with something he thoughtfelt like relief.

“I best go and book our honeymoon,then,” he smiled, reluctantly pulling away from his husband’s embrace.

“You do that,” Aaron smiled back, before adding, “and make sure we’re still there for your birthday, I’m not gonna let this one pass us by this year.”

Robert’s heart leapt into his chest; he’d never looked forward to a birthday so much before; never thought he’d relish turning 31.

“It’ll be our anniversary out there too, then,” Robert reminded him, greeted with a frown from his husband.

“I didn’t think you were meant to celebrate the months once you were married?” he questioned, amused.

“Not our wedding anniversary, you idiot. It’s almost been a year, hasn’t it? Since we got back together.”

Robert didn’t press it; knew the memory of that might have brought with it the memory of him and that trial for Aaron, but he was relieved to feel the playful shove against his shoulder as Aaron broke into a smile.

“Get booking, you big softie,” Aaron teased him, drawing a laugh out of his husband and enjoying the view as he walked away.

“Oh, Rob!” he called back down thestairs a few seconds later.

Robert was stood on the bottomstep, looking back up at him when he reached the landing at the top of thestairs.

“Haven’t got a spare suitcase,have you?” Aaron grinned down at him, baring his teeth in a cheesy smile.

Robert rolled his eyes.

“I’ve only got one but it’s big enoughto share. It’s under the bed on my side.”

“Thanks. I’m not taking much,anyway,” Aaron assured him.

“Well, it’s our honeymoon so Idon’t plan on having you wearing many clothes, I’ll be honest.”

Robert offered Aaron a wink and asmirk as Aaron rolled his eyes and retreated back to their bedroom, unable towipe the smirk from his face and the thought of Robert from his mind.

Day whatever. Who’s counting anyway

How many entries behind am I? We’d be on day, what, 8? I’ll do a quick recap of what happened these past few days *featuring:

-The cousin that’s studying to become a makeup artist: Ana(25), big sister to:

We ready? K GO!

Friday: Went to buy some boots to a thrift store with my sister and a friend of hers. After that, my parents picked us up and drove us to the music school to give my other sister some parts for her gig that night that she’d forgotten home and from there my dad dropped us off at my grandma’s. There we found our cousins that had just gotten there from a long trip, Ana and Wen. One of my cousins is studying to become a makeup artist and along with my mom gave facials to her brother, my grandma, my sister and her friend and myself. A few hours went by and my dad came to pick us up to head for my sister’s concert. Grandma and cousins stayed. In the car, I decided to try on my sister’s brand new boots. We had about 30 minutes to kill before the concert so we walked around the park near the theater. The boots were too damn high and one size too small for me so the entire walk I held onto my sister and her friend for support while my little toes screamed and my ankles panicked. So once we got to the theater my sister and I swapped shoes and I put on her sneakers, that again were a size too small.

My sister’s concert went great. it was a Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” tribute and she was in the backing orchestra. After the 2 and a bit hour-long gig, I managed to post Thursday's weak-ass blog while we waited for her to finish up backstage. I can’t remember what time we finally got home but it was definitely after midnight. We had leftover pizza for dinner.

Saturday: (I said quick recap didn’t I) 80th bday tea party cousin’s place monopoly emotional meltdown. Lol that reminds me of Grace’s “worst pants-shitting story or close call in three words or small phrases” challenge (if you can call it so).

Okay, we start at noon having to drive to a little farm diner for brunch and my putting on makeup in the car and miraculously not spilling. There were ducks and sheep and there was one duck in particular that at one point started harassing a chicken and biting it too. We all ate and drank and were mostly full by the time the actual meal came. My great aunt was fast drunk and convinced the manager to put on some 80′s music so they all could dance and tried really hard to get us to form a conga line. After some old people dancing they brought out the birthday cake for my grandma, and lowkey kicked us out coz it was past 4pm and we’d overstayed our welcome, so a big bunch of us drove back to my grandma’s house to have cake and coffee. The cake was really good. After that my closest cousin, Stan tried to talk my oldest sister, Pao into a cousins retreat back to his place for monopoly before another one of our cousins took off back to his hometown (Wen), but she had to decline because she had to study for finals, so they got stuck with me and my sister, Vero for monopoly. In the ride to his place, they all talked about Pokemon Go. There was a football match going on that my aunt was listening on the radio and her husband’s team lost to some Brasilian team so they stopped at the mall and bought a jersey from the opposing team to mess with him and honked the horn of the car all the way that was left to her house in celebration. People would boo at us from the street and other cars.

The monopoly game was very heated. Wherever we landed we bought the property. I spent most of the game in jail. At one point I stepped out for a smoke and I could hear them start yelling at each other. When I went back inside I saw Vero and Wen yanking and stealing properties from one another. Negotiation went south I suppose, I don’t really know what the whole fight was about, but you could see Stan trying to mediate and get them to play fair. Wen got so upset he decided not to play anymore and relinquished his properties. Then, while Stan pleaded with him to get back in the game, he decided to give them to Stan and me while my sister said he had no right to do so since he was no longer in the game and those weren’t his properties anymore. So he then went like “no, I’m kidding, I want to keep playing” and got his cards back, and THEN he distributed them to Stan and me and his money as well and went “I’m broke I lost the game”. My sister’s blood pressure peaked at that. While we all tended to her she had an emotional meltdown and started to vent about stuff. We winded up talking about how she needs to get a steady job and get out of my parents’ house, both my aunt and uncle included. We all played dumb when my parents came to pick us up in the car.

Sunday: We went to Wen and Ana’s dad’s place for a barbecue. The entire family was there (mom’s side). I have a crack on the triangular ligament of my right wrist so while trying to cut the overcooked rib with a stiff hand I spilled bbq sauce all over my white tank top. The uncle that was hosting the gathering got drunk pretty fast and tackled me to the floor for no apparent reason, so I, in turn, lifted his foot while getting up and got him to fall backward. Everyone cheered at my uncle’s humiliation. My dad had had a few glasses of wine so we had to wait a bit for him to drive, so in the meantime, the cousins played Pictionary, even the lil rascal, John(11 probably), and his twin sisters (9 or 10? omg), siblings to Ana and Wen. We got home and while some went to church I finished up installing the newest update of the Sims 4 and had a few sims apply for college. I wanted to watch the American Music Awards but it was dubbed so... I only watched from Taylor Swift’s medley and until the end over dinner.

Yesterday, Monday: I cleaned the pool, folded two weeks worth of clothing that was piled up on the couch, got a bit sunburnt and also came to the conclusion that I am truly, after all, allergic to the sun (these “””freckles””” are itchy as fuck) and transcribed some scribbled on call sheets to send in over to production for the final folder of our college short film project. Turns out we’re missing the paperwork for at the very least to days of filming. Two days unaccounted for. I’m currently still waiting for production to send over all the templates so I can make up the missing paperwork to send over for the folder.

Today I finished up writing this journal/blog entry. Now I can move on with my life. Okay tomorrow the cousins will be having lunch at my grandma’s so expect an update on that. I highly doubt anyone will read this crap but I’m committed.

How does motorcycle insurance work?

So I just wanted to know a little about the pay brackets with motorcycle. Im not talking specific numbers cause I know to just get a quota for that. What I heard is for things like scooters or bikes under 150cc there is a bracket. Then it goes up for anything between 150cc to less than 400cc. Then after that you can expect insurance to go up more when you get into the 600cc supersports and so on. I know im wording this kind of poorly. It makes sense just like how insurance for a Ferrari is going to more than a pickup truck or economy car. I just remember someone saying on a forum that they got a ninja 400r and they were happy that its technically a 399cc engine bucause if it was just a bit more the insurance would have gone up to the next class in motorcycle insurance. I just wanted to know if someone can help explain how this works. I wouldnt mind having something stronger than a 250 or 300 motorcycle but if it means that insurance is going to double or something for a 600 or 650 then I may stray away from it because I still have insurance for my car. Also on a side note how exactly does super sport insurance typically compare to standard bikes? For example maybe a gsxr 600 or CBR 600 vs something like a SV650. Both have similarly sized engines but Im sure 600 super sports are more aggressively tuned and other factors. Lastly my one friend had a Kawasaki. That Time I Almost Peed Myself on the Bus

Greetings!

So, last we talked (er, you read? I guess?), we were having our first Tartiflette Tuesday (#funfacts: we haven’t had one since), and throwing probably very cherished childhood toys of my landlords children into the pool because they stare into your soul and scare the absolute crap out of you! What a time we had 😄

Well as promised at the end of the last post, there was indeed yet another trip to the Netherlands with, guess who!, Sarah to visit one of her high school friends who’s studying in a town called Leiden. This trip was especially fun because after buying my train and bus tickets to get there, we were informed that, contrary to what had been said before, there wouldn’t be room enough for me to stay at her friends house, unless I wanted to sleep on the couch... that was in the kitchen.

Activate: panic mode.

It was entirely out of budget to rent an Airbnb or find a hostel (and there surprisingly weren’t any in Leiden anyway), so I decided to tryout Couchsurfing after hearing success stories from a few friends here and there. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s basically free Airbnb, except you could literally be sleeping on someones couch and people usually only stay for a few days—I definitely didn’t know that last part. After many denials—most likely because I was staying for an entire week, and the week before Christmas—someone said they’d let me stay with them. I tried my best to find one that offered a room or at least a pull out couch, but alas alack, I was unsuccessful in this endeavor. That being said, my host, Christiaan, was incredibly sweet and we got along really well!

The town of Leiden is small and mostly a college town, and, like most European towns/cities/everything, was adorable. Sarah, her friend and I walked around the town and absorbed the Dutch culture and were also very abruptly and rudely reminded that we had become incredibly accustomed to the warm weather that graces the south of France, and consequently almost froze to death in the Netherlands.

I have to say, of all my trips to the Netherlands, this was definitely the chillest one I’ve had. Sarah and I were counting our pennies and only went to Amsterdam twice to avoid having to pay the train fare. Looking back, I guess I’m surprised I didn’t try to go more often, but at the same time, it was entirely too cold to be meandering around somewhere that’s also just FULL of tourists. #pass. We of course enjoyed ourselves when we did go, though. She took me to a place called the Foodhallen, which was basically like a food court you find at the mall, except the only shopping to be done was for food of literally any cuisine. French, Italian, tapas, Chinese, Japanese, you name it, they had it. And let me tell y’all, trying to pinch pennies at this place just SO DIFFICULT. Sarah and I wandered around for a while trying to decide what to eat before we realized we would literally eat at any of the places there, and when we did finally get food and sit down to eat it, it was just...so so so so so good. Painfully good, even. But anyway, when we weren’t stuffing our faces full of food in Amsterdam, we spent most of the time either wandering around Leiden, sleeping or just sitting and doing nothing. All things that make up an ideal vacation if I do say so myself.

To shake things up, though, I made a trip to Rotterdam to visit some friends I had made over the summer while I was working with the Experiment Abroad. It was absolutely amazing to see my friends again, and even better, I was asked to be apart of their gay youth center’s—The Hangout010—drag show. It was, of course, a blast! Beyond making Christiaan think some random woman had broken into his apartment and making heads turn left and right as I walked to and from the train stations in full drag face, it was so much fun to be in such a welcoming and accepting community. Not that Nîmes is homophobic or anything of the sort, but to be somewhere where I knew the things I loved were loved by everyone around me was so comforting. For the drag show, I did my own rendition Aretha Franklin’s rendition of “Don’t Play That Song,” and I think it went pretty well! Fingers crossed for more Aevyn appearances in the future!

So after a week or so, I headed back to Nîmes while Sarah stayed with her friend for another week or so. Overall, I’d say it was a fun trip! The only potential downfall was that Christiaan, being Dutch, was much more acclimated to the cold weather, and therefore left his apartment just a little...frigid. But then again, I guess it made it much easier to deal with the cold weather when I went outside. #giveandtake

Also worth noting about this trip to the Netherlands, in true Nigel fashion, I quite literally nearly peed myself on the bus from Paris to Amsterdam as I was daydreaming while looking out the window. Somehow, I was so lost in my thoughts that I failed to notice we had been driving along side the TGV line for about 20 minutes. So, when the TGV went flying by, I just had not mentally prepared at all and very audibly gasped, much to the surprise of the person sitting in front of me... oops. But of course that memory will be forever burned into my memory 😍 #triphighlights

Anyway, after spending about 10 hours at home, I got on another train to meet the family in Nice! I was really excited for this trip because it was the first time a lot of my family had ever been to France, and for a couple, their first time to Europe! What I hadn’t thought of, however, was the fact that not one of them speaks French (not including you, Mom, you’re a francophone in training), so my translation services were constantly being called upon. While mildly irritating, it did feel nice to show my family a part of my life that they’ve never really seen before and to show them a new culture!

When I got there on Christmas day, I was met by my brother, his fiancée, my sister and her husband, and all SEVEN of their bags. Yes, they literally had 7 bags between the 4 of them. 3 of which belonged to my sister and brother-in-law alone, and took up all the space in the trunk. As well as being hilarious, it was also very comforting to see that my sister and I are still very much alike even as we get older 😂 .

Anyway, the first day of my family’s arrival was of course burden by jet lag, so Justin and Jess—the “Js” who had been living in Ireland—and I went into to town and ended up having an absolutely perfect day. There was not a cloud in the sky and the French Riviera blessed us with almost 70º weather. I was not mad about it, y’all. We walked around Vieux Nice (Old Nice) and saw the gorgeous views and parks on top of Castle Hill, sat on the rocky beach and soaked up the sunshine and perfectness, sat on a balcony at a restaurant along the Promenade des Anglais and had tapas for lunch and then rode bikes along the promenade to see the sunset, which, lemme tell ya, the French Riviera is just killing the game in terms of sunsets. Does that just not sound like the most absolutely perfect day?! It was just so ideal.

Otherwise, day trips included going to Monaco for my sisters bday which was a lot of fun and then Toulon for my bday the next day, which was kind of a bust because there’s nothing to do in Toulon, specially during the off season! But upon reflection, I decided I’d count my day with the Js (cute nickname, right?!) as my actual birthday for 2016 😂 . We ended up having a chill New Years since we couldn’t really find anywhere/be bothered to leave. We made a scrumptious dinner, drank heartily and brought in the new year with lots of love, happiness and wine! Overall, it was a very successful trip!

Fun things worth noting about Nice: my family is apparently not the best at determining how much food we need for a week, and so when it was time to leave, the fridge in the Airbnb was literally packed with food. It seemed like a problem, but it actually ended up being great for me because it meant I wouldn’t have to go grocery shopping when I got back! Woo! And even better, my parents had to drive me back to Nîmes so I didn’t look like an absolute fool trying to take all this food on the train, and they got to see my place and the town. That was surprisingly especially nice because my dad loved to see a French town that wasn’t infiltrated with tourists and tourist traps, but rather just French culture.

Also worth noting about the Nice trip (ha, see what I did there? 🙃 ) was its roads, and how the cars we rented were just entirely too big for the extremely narrow, two-way French streets. It may not seem like too big of a deal, but put it to you this way: my dad taught all three of his kids to drive (including others peoples kids, apparently!) and he learned to drive in Jamaica, on a stick shift, where they drive on the right side of the road. So like, he’s a pro, and even he was freaking out about it, with hands firmly planted at ten and two at all times. Even funnier was when both of our GPSs took us to a road that was supposed to take us into town, but instead took us to a dirt road that went off a cliff, multiple times.😂

Well that’s it for this years Christmas and bday vacation! All in all, I’d call it a very successful two weeks! Life has already gotten back to the usual flow here in Nîmes with teaching, tutoring and, of course, the everlasting search for post-TAPIF employment 🙄 . This past weekend, my housemates and I celebrated my and our friend Alec’s birthdays! That ended up being, aside from some *drama*, very successful! A lot of people ended up coming and we danced and drank the night away! #happybdaytome

As always, I love sharing these stories with y’all and am so thankful to those who make it to the end! Next up is a trip to Berlin and Hamburg (TO SEE THE WORLDS LARGEST MODEL RAILROAD *hyperventilates*) on my first solo travel trip, and probably some other fun stuff if I can afford it! Woo!
