Update 3 with my new vegas permadeath run!
After saying my goodbye's to Easy Pete I made my way to the boomers to complete their quests. At the start I decided to wear the enclave power armor that I got from the Enclave through a mod because power armor will definetly help me survive longer

While on my way, I noticed something in the distance. Another NPC in an area where it's not supposed to be in, and this time, it was a securitron

I have no clue what the hell he was doing outside of the strip, like my man, wtf, you're not supposed to be here!

I did their quests but because my skills weren't high enough in the museum, I had to make my way to Helios one to repair their solar arrays.

I stopped by camp gulf to steal some things (I am using a lockpick build after all) and noticd that the ENB I was using made some of the Nuka Cola bottles emit some glow.

I arrived at Helios One and got the parts, but decided to visit Lonesome Road and have a chat with my good pal Ulysses!

Did the usual Lonesome road thing, kill some marked men, tunnelers and deathclaws, explored the divide, found upgrades for E-DE and also launch a nuke

Anyway, went down the funny elevator ride, made my way through the 2nd half of the divide, saw some stunning visuals thanks to the ENB

And finally caught up with Ulysses who stole my boy ED-E!

Now, I wasn't really expecting to convince Ulysses not to launch the nukes because my speech wasn't high enough. But because I collected all the eyebot upgrades for ED-E, I managed to do it!

Me, Ulysses, ED-E and some other eyebots fought off against the waves of marked men, and ED-E sacrificed himself to cancel the launch of the nukes.

I think that's all of them. They are mostly found on nexus unless stated otherwise. Calliope uses the first vanilla breton preset that comes with the game. I just edited it quite a bit in sculpt, but that first preset has a very good nose
tips for racemenu nobody asked for but here it is anyway because I just can't help myself apparently
Don't skip on the chin/eyes/forehead/nose colours - adding these gives life to the skin and stops skin looking flat, just go very LIGHTLY on it
layer very light freckles all over the skin in a shade a tiny bit darker than your skintone then do it again for a different pattern of freckles slightly darker than that. You want to BARELY see them. What this will do will add texture to the skin (like pores if the skin you use doesn't have a lot of texture) so it looks more realistic
Pick a preset you want to base you character on on one characteristic you're not very good at sculpting/changing. For instance I find noses complicated, so I find a preset with a good nose I want that I don't have to change much and just change everything else
Noses are shorter and the bridge is wider than you think on the face, If you struggle with face proportions check to see if you made the nose too long and thin

Prima Ballerina Assolutas
I was reading Maya Plisetskaya’s autobiography (great read!) and it got me thinking. I still find it sad that the phrase “Assoluta” has sort of been laid to rest. Originally designated to Pierina Legnani by Marius Petipa to describe, who he felt, was “The leading dancer in all of Europe”. Although, it was never a refined system and a good chunk of the few designated Primas with the title are disputed/unofficial. Petipa himself formally objected to Kschessinska being awarded the title (one of many petty feuds between the prima and the ballet master. Honestly 1800s Mariinsky troupe drama is so entertaining I could go on all day about it) But it adds a level of prestige, in a world of so many companies both national & regional. It’s certainly a shame that certain dancers never got the honour awarded to them, despite being the greatest heralded (and in demand) dancers of their eras (think Sylvie Guillem, Ulyana Lopatkina, Darcey Bussel). The only still dancing assoluta left is Alessandra Ferri and she is slowly fading out, especially with her new role at the Weiner Staatsoper. 
As far as current Primas with the potential for the title, I really think Zakharova could have easily been awarded one by now. It’s a shame that her long-standing controversial political associations have likely hindered any potential for that sort of honour internationally. Just for her sheer presence in the dance world I can’t think of another dancer who holds such a grip on what is considered a “prima”. In talent terms, Osipova should be up there too for her contributions to the world of flying.

Paintings of the Bygone Era (2a - Colors and Inks of the Commonwealth)
I turned Fallout 4 into the Near-Best Neo-Classic Fallout Experience you can find, and how to do it yourself.
We previously talked about the first set of many stepping stones with the Midnight Ride with the know hows, the fixes, and everything you needed to make it as stable as possible, now it is time to talk about the next bit: Visual.
Fallout 4 is a game with a bunch of visual changes. Forested zones, return to urban environments near-reminiscent of Fallout 3, and with a first full and updated weather system in the series. Upside is that some areas did succeeded where it had mattered, and the downside is that the focus on Retro-Futurism did overshadow a lot of some the aesthetics and visuals that made Fallouts 3 and 4 stand out more. Now to argue a lot about what worked and what didn't work or what focus they should have done first and last would be too big of a discussion that The Overseers would have an ill-fated field day of exposition and no work done. (Personal inside joke.)
Now the fun and enticing things about Fallout 4 is that it is the near-most modular Fallout Game in the series, providing you with a lot of visual changes, overhauls, reworks, tweaks, fixes, and everything under the sun to the point that you could remake aesthetics akin to older titles like 3 and to certain extents some Interplay titles if you feel so inclined. However, our emphasis is Neo-Classic, and here's how:
Fallout 4, as it was, was a visual improvement that needed an extra boost up. Certainly, it would be fun to become the master of the sand box and turn it to however you see fit. But still seeing potential in 4's aesthetics our job shall be sprucing it up not only where it matters, but acommidating for the new and old.
And to get one thing out of the way, we will be talking about retexturing everything. Not just landscapes... buildings, skies, roads, signs, alllll the way to the smallest tin can that you can find. Everything is getting a face lift. Excessive? Little bit. But every little detail counts and plus one of the complaints to be had today now is a graphical upgrade and that is what we're going to give it.
(This will also be part one of this episode, here, we will be talking about all the major visual retextures while part two will cover all the little things that is basically )

First starts off with the traditional sense of visuals- lights, colors, everything else. Now naturally, for some they would be saying that the first and natural action would be to grab ENBs for it. Which agreeable would start with a reasonably approach considering that it has done for a few other titles such as Skyrim.
However, we'll actually be taking a page off of The Midnight Ride's book because they have something to say about that. And that's a hefty "No."
Contrary to popular belief, Fallout 4 doesn't need an ENB as much it it would with titles like Skyrim. (although that is mitigated with SSE Community Shaders.) And not a lot of people seem to know this, but using ENB also brings a flat CPU performance reduction of about 25%, which is far from worth it especially if you use ENB for simple effects such as a LUT. And it's not like that I personally hate the ENBs that I have either as I've seem some that are pretty alright despite its flaws. Faded Glory being one good example and one I am pretty disheartened that it's not 100% part of the discussion but you can look at anyways because I still believe they'd have the potential if the above was never listed.
So ENBs won't 100% work, so what's the next ordeal? Well all we have to do is think smaller and try the next best thing: LUT. Lookup Tables, basically predetermined sets of mathematical formulas to your video's existing colors to change those colors and achieve a desired result. Now these can be part of ENBs but you also make it its own thing and run some stuff without the use of ENBs. And on top of that, it is simple and clear cut. Which leads us to the first piece of the well-deserved redux Psycho LUT.

Psycho LUT brought together by theCyanideX is a lovely addition to the LUT Table, this package brings crisp detail, lifelike colors, and darker nights to the wasteland that does the task by making use and advantage of the AgX Colorspace. Psycho LUT actually accomplishes some of the tasks that Faded Glory can do, where some things are desaturated and faded almost in the style of previous Fallout Games but the colors still maintain and most importantly some moreso than others that matter and pop out more. There are a handful of options that you can pick from in the Psycho LUT Files:

Psycho LUT Classic is the default and standard issue of the series, the original look of Psycho LUT's goals with balanced color, subtle blues, and rich contrast.

Psycho LUT Pure is a much more stronger iteration of Classic. A more raw form of AgX with higher saturation, greater contrast, and only minimal adjustments. This is popular for those who are interested to put a little bit of 76 and hope into their colors.

Psycho LUT Washed is a much more toned down take of Classic. Less saturation, less blue, deeper reds. Something that sounds little, but it brings more of the Classic feel of other iterations with less hope but still has a little bit of beauty within the void.

The last one is Psycho LUT Edge, and given the information that this was based on "Something that started as a meme LUT in Cyberpunk that poked fun at YouTuber ReShade paywalls." It is safe to bet that it's more of a meme thing and not something practical. At least in my case and why I do not use it that much, but, I did decide to showcase it just so you can get the bearings going.
And with that task one is complete now that you got a wack LUT to put together it's time to pick your wack retextures. And there is quite an amount to pick from. But a lot of it will consist of at most three to four very popular arists and mod authors, yet we shall talk about the major things first- the big things like landscaping roads and the sort. Things that you'll be seeing a whole lot of on your visits to the Commonwealth.
Now this first one you're probably going to hate my insides for bringing up, not because of how old it is, not because of its modular options you can pick from, but simply because it has been that good for a long while and I just don't see what other options are out there. And I am referring mostly to Vivid Fallout.
Vivid Fallout is a Retexture Project by Hein84. It may only cover stuff like landscape grounds, trees, rocks, roads, bridges and other concrete stuff, but it is the majority portion and more importantly very performance friendly. All it'll do is sharpen the games original textures somewhat, make new normal maps and enhance shadowing, but simple is always better and for something like landscaping and environments is something that I would be ill-advise to put too much work into one overtly large thing. And on top of that you have options to like Best Choice, Best Performance, and options to go from 1k to 4k. It may be super old, and it might've been two years since the last update, (much longer if the 2023 update is disregarded,) but it is the simplistic best to avoid less hassle. Because one thing to note here is that we may be roleplaying as painters for this segment of the Neo-Classic Experience, but in no way do I want or intend to mistake or overshadow this with perfectionism.
Now with the big things like roads and Bridges done, comes the next big thing, Billboards and Advertising. One of the hallmarks of the Retro Futurism theme with colorful advertising, and bright flyers. All that definitely would like some reworks that are available today.

2287 - Billboards and Posters by Apolocrato is one suck excellent example. This will replace a significant amount (75% being their estimation) of Billboards and Posters with Lore-Friendly alternatives that have one simple goal: add more visual and thematic variety.

This will add:
More variety to the propaganda and advertisement that are displayed ingame,
replace images that are deemed personally unappealing by the mod author, or would not make sense in the worldspace already built by Fallout,
More Lore Centered renditions and feelings to the world, like incorporating a WW2 Style of propaganda talking about food rationing and salvaging materials, or even a country at war where sympathy for the other side is few and narrow like adding anti-communist style ads.
And the feature and involvement of the Fallout Universe's worldspace and building (The fear of any form of attack coming from China, plagues, and the sort.)
This bundle will come in either default or decadent versions. Decadent being the more degraded, and faded editions of these billboards that match with the combination of Psycho LUT's color space and Vivid Fallout's prominent concretes and roads amazingly well.

Now improving this theme of advertising and propagating comes another mod Proper Flyers and Posters by mindkiller316.
This bundle of retextures goes at the smaller forms of advertising like Flyers and Posters usually plastered in the walls of shacks, buildings, noteboards and the sort. All those tarnished, tattered, burned, torn, faded and virtually blank flyers and posters will now be placed with a variety of the following:
More Advertisements,
More Propaganda,
Missing People Post-its,
Pinups,
And a variety of the similar.
These come in a variety of variants, Lore Friendly, Standardized in both semi-clean formats or washed formats of both coming on 2k or 4k. (On top of an optional edition where it is purely pinups only.) Personally there isn't 100% Specifics as a lot of the Flyers and Posters added in these actually feels Lore Friendly enough to make telling the difference a good challenge. (If you discount the Captain America cameo in one of these variants.)
We now have a Commonwealth that was once colorful and vibrant but not only faded and disgraced by the fires of war, but the areas that were once vibrant were masqueraded behind the fears, pressure, toil and stress of the conflicts that confirmed the paranoias that fueled it. Now let us talk about some of our more finer detailing towards our friendly neighbor Vault-Tec.

Vault-Tec, the Company that is the center for about every other major event of the Fallout World where you are an executive, a Vault Dweller from Vault 13 or even a Dweller in Vault 69, Vault-Tec has always been a centerpiece and a looming reminder of the world and life it used to belong in and the reasons all main characters are in the positions they're in the first place regardless of the how's. So it is unfortunate that there comes a fork in the road about their aesthetics in terms of Vaults vs the entire mood of the Fallout Series.

In Fallout 3 to earlier, all the Vaults from the inside had a wide array of grays. A semi-dark and dingy combination that signified on one portion the difficulty of trying to adapt surface life to an underground life, while another portion can also show Vault-Tec's own ambitions regarding these Vaults. Knowing that these Vaults that they were to build were never meant to last long- and even fewer of these being just Control Vaults, but they had to sell the idea.

In Fallout 4 and future titles, Vaults have been changed to be more vibrant, more colorful. A little more convincing, maybe more comforting, having various other materials apart from just standardized metals, leads & irons, and to a certain extend, believable regarding some of the safety features that would come into play with underground living. (This did get tweaked later in the TV Series with more faded colors but highlighted with bright Yellows.) However, I always thought that Fallout 4 Era Vaults were a design that felt like something Vault Tec wanted to do if they tried a little too hard. And that's where the dilemma begins.
Fallout 4's vibrancy of colors definitely did the trick but needed to be toned down just a little bit more, while Fallout 3's dilapidated shells did set the mood for a dingy and gritty past yet some believed it to be the building blocks of the future. So that begs the question, what must be done to quell the argument regarding how to overhaul the Vaults. And that brings us to one solution, Fallout 3 Styled Vaults.

Fallout 3 Styled Vaults is a repaint by ScottyX2. As the titling suggests, Fallout 3 Styled Vaults brings back the dark and dingy setting from Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas' Vaults, along with some smaller re-textures to compliment the new look. What does this mean?

Fallout 3 Styled Vaults will still give you the battered, faded look of the older vaults of 3/NV, however, it will also incorporate a bit of the newer Vault design's of the era of 4 and beyond with yellows that are faded, and the sorts. It even helps by replacing some of the floors with gray tiles, and darker metals where it probably would not be as wise to have brighter metals as it was on paper. This retexture alone will provide you now with a dilapidated vault with colors put in to places where it should matter, on top of providing a proper memoir of a Samaritan's cause diluted by greed-fueled desires of scientific progress.

Another major retexture we will be adding to the list is MM Brotherhood.
MM Brotherhood by WINZOR is a comprehensive retexture covering the Brotherhood of Steel. Unfortunately, it may clash with the bland coloring differences compared to that of Prime's Series, but a worthy sacrifice to make granted that we have made one major section faded and dilapidated. This retexture will cover large portions of the airport they're stationed in and the entirety of the Prydwen. However, this doesn't just cover those two specifically. It also covers a lot of the barricading and similar metals placed by the Brotherhood of Steel as if it was military grade equipment being repurposed and represented by a new Order of Steel.

The bright oranges I am a little bit if a fan of, for a faction as now prominent as the Brotherhood, it would make sense for them to have more noticeable (but also semi-practical) colors that signify their newfound dominance especially since we are talking about a Brotherhood united under one flag (more on that later).
Last but not least we will be talking a look at the most controversial topic of this retexturing, the Institute, mainly their hideout. Because it definitely needs a lot of work.
From the same guy that brought you Fallout 3 Styled Vaults comes Retro Aesthetics Institute Overhaul. Aspired, and based in the similar style to the TVA portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe more notably the Loki Series, Retro Aesthetics Institute will paint the Institute's Establishment with a beautiful retro-futuristic mixture of postmodern architecture with 1950’s-esque tech and furniture. The best part of this is that all of these retextures were made using their hi-resolution counterparts, which does mean higher resolution detailing, but also optimized handling where on paper it won't shat your framerate too hard. And since it is a retexture it also does not affect Precombines and will likely play nice with most mods that use the Institute tile set.

Now here's the million dollar question: Why?
Why make this psychotic of a change compared to what we have done to the outside, the signs and billboards, the vaults, the Brotherhood, and everything else, why have that for the Institute? Here's the deal...
The retro-futurism definitely did put a damper on a lot of the other elements that made Fallout, Fallout. But do too little of that, it would've just passed off as another post apocalyptic setting. Too much of it, and you obviously saw Vanilla Fallout 4. Then the question hit in regards of a what if. What if we put all of that hyper retro-futurism into the Institute solely? And why not? Compared to Vault Tec, the Commonwealth Institute of Technology was not only the most advanced group in the Americas, but also as close as you could humanly get to near perfect representation and reminder of the old world they were far removed from. Would it not make sense for them to transcend to their greater goal while perfectly maintaining where they started from? That is where Retro Aesthetics Institute Overhaul. That and of course, there's probably a great deal of people who would like to have a better experience of the Institute without getting flashbanged by the worst brightness reflections and snow blindness of the vanilla Institute.
Congratulations, you finished Episode 2 of my road to the Neo-Classic Fallout Experience. At least part one. Originally, I wanted to cram it all into one thing only to realize that I have zero idea what the limit of these posts are. So to have a benchmark I'll be leaving this here, and working on part two where we work on every other minute detail. But that is okay, because this involves having a bunch of works from one of every author. (basically 75% of it will be condensed by explaining the works of said mod author.) So thankfully we got through the easy bits and bobs by getting the largest textures replaced out of the way first.
But for the time being, you can chillax, and then prepare for Part 2.

ASFjaksHkajsd HELP it's not following any custom modlist like lorerim or nolvus, cuz im pretty sure there's a bunch of things i won't need to encounter/make use of anyway!!!
I made a small list of the mods that enhanced my game visually below. Do check any dependencies it may need! For now I won't be listing my animation mods since I might not be able to explain well how I made it work somehow - but I'll say that the bow combat I use here is Bow Rapid Combo V3 (and dependencies) + OAR for the rest of the animations I have and run it with Pandora instead of Nemesis.
Weather Haze Weathers 2
ENB latest series - pick one ENB preset and patch Pi-Cho ENB (NAT weathers, yes I use the NAT version bc the colors are livelier there imo) with Haze weathers patch Natura ENB with Haze weathers patch If you want Grass Collisions when you move around them, make sure to tick it on the active effects in ENB menu.
Lighting Lux and its patch hub
Clutter/Grass Lux Via and its patch hub Freak's Floral Fields and the dependency Freak's Floral Solstheim
User Interface Edge UI this one got a bunch of dependencies depending on how many UI addons you want to add to your game, but those aren't required except for a few like SkyUI, so give it some time to carefully take your pick SkyHUD A Matter of Time and Edge UI patch (if you want - it still looks good without it imo) TrueHUD and True Directional Movement since we're already at it Effects Particle Patch ENB Light - yeah I went with the full installation bc I've been trying to murder my PC Kittytail's VFX mods - you don't have to install the spell mods, just the ones that edits VFX Others Lux Orbis and any patch hub/updated patch compilation Lux Variants and any patch that might go with your other mods. it has a fairly short list, so not a lot of conflict I hope. Water for ENB Reimagined Mountain Flowers
Northern Roads - yeah I'm separating this one bc it's ass to make it work for the longest of time JSADJDSA but stick with me NR Patch Collection - If you have Lux Repaired Bridge, don't pick it from here NR Patch Compendium - Pick the Repaired Bridge patch here Now I know everyone almost gives up on Northern Roads at least once bc of exterior seams. Northern Roads.esm needs to stay as low as possible in the modlist. Same goes of the NR Patch - Lux Repaired Bridge plugin if it's there. Those overhaul mods that you want to win will always have to be at the bottom of everything it overhauls. Idk how to do this in MO2, but in Vortex you can find the .esm or .esl in the Plugin section, click it, scroll down if need and set its Groups to Worldspace Settings and reload your plugin list.
The rest, you may notice are affected by FSMP / HDT physics, like the custom armor and hair. But take your time tweaking your visual mods first since character and NPC visual enhancements are fairly straightforward to install! ♥ I FORGOT TO TAG YOU JFC SORRY ILY BESTIE @megasocky

i am trying to decide on an ENB for SE this saturday morning (now afternoon). ruvaak's enb is so stunning in every way! the colors are perfection with a balance of both cool and warm tones, and playthrough is really easy on the eyes without harsh shadows or added effects. faces are crisp and sharp, and details in the textures don't get lost.
on the other hand, pi-cho enb (which is included w/ nolvus) does something so??! there's like this soft AO and bloom on the faces and it pays attention to subscattering on faces, i'm not very sure of this but it looks so good and modern. it can be a bit too dark in certain weathers and hours of the day, but it gives you so many options to tweak the enb to your liking in the ENB GUI. i just don't know where to start haha.
with ruvaak somehow the characters that are in/facing away from direct lighting outdoors have a subtle definition to them, but when they're in direct lighting, sometimes that gets completely washed out. pi-cho has the opposite problem lol, if the character is facing away from the light it's kind of flat (first pic, right side). i just realized, it could be solved with facelight (which pi-cho seems to be super receptive to anyway - the third pair of pics were taken w/ racemenu facelight on and away from a direct source).

what they showed in the recent showcase didn’t look like this so i’m a bit surprised? the showcase footage looked like a lot of grey. they showed some forested areas but idk none of it reminded me of tow. one thing (among many other things) i love about tow is the colorfulness of the environments. even scylla which is, you know, the cold dead rock area, is pretty. i’m a big fan of bethesda games but i’m wary of starfield because of the dreariness of most of what they showed.
plus there was no humor in the starfield showcase. todd makes jokes in his explanations but what they showed of the game seemed pretty serious. cold. not necessarily a bad thing but again, i got no outer worlds-like vibes from it. maybe that’s just me?
Starfield feels like it's going to be an Outer Worlds rip-off.

i posted this as a thread on twitter a while back, and I’ve been conflicted about posting it over here because I try to keep this a positive blog, but this has been weighing on me for... well, months really, so I think it’s probably worth speaking about here, too. 
It’s not negativity, not in the usual sense. Moreso just... musing. I don’t want anyone to think i’m whining, or complaining, or anything. I just kind of want to get these thoughts out there, I guess?
anyway i know i shouldn't try to judge my worth based on notes or activity or whatever but. you know, most of my creative stuff re: my characters is done via screenshots cos i can't draw (that’s the short of it - its not about ‘oh my art isn’t good’ its perfectly serviceable, but i am completely incapable of visualizing things in my head - learned recently there’s a term for it, aphantasia. and its just an enormous hurdle towards drawing)
but what this means is... i don't tend to see a lot of activity? i know oc stuff is always less popular but i see even less. commissions i get of my characters get way more notes than stuff I make like screenshots or writing.  and i don’t begrudge the artists for this at all!! because they are very talented and do wonderful work and deserve it, but it does make me notice drawn art gets more notice than the screenarchery i do and i think that people just kind of assume 'oh the game does the work for you’  despite the fact that i'm frequently creating additional content - models, textures, poses - some of which only gets used for specific scenes - there's not a single shot of mine that doesn't have a mod I made in it.
even ignoring the hours that go into making those things in external software, a collection of a half dozen images can still take me several hours to make. lighting, ENB setup, posing, scene setup, etc etc etc. there's a set i'm working on that has equipment in it that i spent several hours making over three or four days and it's not going to appear again because it's so specific to the story in those shots. but it feels no one seems to realize the amount of effort that goes into this kinda stuff, and i feel like it all just gets kinda brushed off.
Especially when i see things like... blogs focused only on sharing people's ocs (good blog concept that i support) that reblog commissioned art from me, but never screenshots and thus never anything i actually make. and that just kinda sinks in over time.  like, the only other creative output i really have re: ocs is writing and I've always known that’s gonna be something that gets skimmed over by a lot of users and I’m okay with that, but when i started figuring out screenarchery i was so excited with what i could do! I could make the game world as it should be with mods, and then as I learned screenarchery I could show others that world, the stories and characters as they deserve to be seen.
But i think it still gets overlooked. i'm so glad about the things i can make for myself and i will keep doing that no matter what because that's WHY i do it, because it makes me happy, but this entire post just kinda covers why it doesn't always feel worth it to put together a post and to share the things i make. it's... it's tiring, is what it is, really.
anyway... gold star sticker for you if you've read this entire damn thing. i won’t get rambly like this very often.

She- They come out to Chat Noir first. 
He listens to them intently, not interrupting even when they start to wish he would, and when they’ve run out of breath and explanation both he asks tentatively whether they mind if he cuts his patrol short. 
The tight, wound feeling in the pit of their stomach gets worse, but they agree anyway even as their spirits plummet. 
Chat Noir is their safety net.  He’s the one they thought it would be safest to talk to first.  For him to listen so attentively only to leave feels like glass shards in their lungs.  It feels so much worse than they’d expected that they consider taking it back, laughing it off when they meet up again the next night for patrol. 
Chat calls them back that same night, before the sun’s more than a hazy idea on the horizon, and asks to meet up again.
He shows up with a clumsily-made pronoun bracelet. 
“I don’t think our suits will let us do pins,” he says sheepishly, eyes darting to them and away before they can get a good look at the emotion in them. 
They kind of want to do the same, because they can feel themself beginning to tear up. 
Chat Noir notices.  His eyes catch and hold this time, going wide with alarm.  “My-” He hesitates, then offers almost shyly, “M'theydy?" 
That does it.  Marinette can’t keep the tears back, but at the alarmed flicker of Chat Noir’s ears they dart towards him and throw their arms around him in a hug. 
It takes him a minute to unfreeze and hug them back.  It always does- it’s always concerned them that it does, but by their own rules they can’t ask.  They can hug him until he seems more used to it, though.  "Thank you, kitty." 
"Is it too early to tell you I’m enbious of you?” he wonders aloud, and Marinette snorts and hits his chest lightly. 
“You dumb cat,” they laugh through their tears, hugging him harder so that he doesn’t think they mean it. “I can’t believe you.  I can’t believe I was worried, how did I not know you were going to take this another reason to pun?”
“I looked them up,” Chat Noir admits.  “There’s so many."  He tilts his head down, his eyes catching theirs as he grins and repeats, "M'theydy.”
They have to let go of him before they find themself squeezing the breath out of him.  “I can’t believe you."  You’re too good to be true, they finish in the privacy of their own head.  They’re not quite ready to say that to him.  They might be trying to let go of Adrien now, in bits and pieces and broken hopes, but it’s a slow process. 
They suspect they already know how they feel about Chat Noir, but they’re not ready to call it that just yet.   
Chat Noir straightens proudly.  His tail gives a happy little flick as he grins at them, tentatively.  "You don’t mind?" 
"From you, Chat?” Marinette says, too relieved that he doesn’t mind to watch what they’re saying too closely.  “Never." 
They’d thought he’d already looked pleased with himself, but he’s near preening now. 
"You did good, kitty,” Marinette assures him, just to be rewarded with the bright flash of his eyes and the quirk to his grin that he only displays when they’re alone.  “I’ve just been so nervous about this."  They look down at the bracelet he’s given them, turning it over thoughtfully.  It’s the kind of beaded bracelet they associate with summer camps but the beads are a kind they’ve never seen before.  They look fancier, somehow, than they really ought to.   
"You don’t have to wear it if you don’t want to." 
They look up swiftly.  Chat Noir didn’t- didn’t sound right.
He’s not looking back at them.  He’s looking down at the roof, one hand rubbing the back of his head.  His ears are swivelled towards them, but his tail’s fallen still.
"Why wouldn’t I?"  Marinette asks softly, watching as his head jerks up at their tone.  "I’d love to show it off." 
There’s definitely a blush under his mask. 
"I didn’t know if you wanted to be out as Ladybug."  His voice has gone very quiet.  "I didn’t want to assume anything.  I just wanted you to know that it doesn't change anything for me." 
Marinette turns the bracelet over again, running their fingers across the letters, before slipping it on and smiling at Chat Noir.  It fits perfectly.  "I wanted to tell you before anyone else, but I do want to come out as Ladybug."  They look away, across the rooftops.  They’re well hidden in this part of the city but this is still something they’d prefer to keep private a little longer.  "I want to say it’s because I want people to have a nonbinary hero, but it’s not really that.  Or not just that, anyway." 
"What else is it?” Chat asks, taking a seat on the edge of the roof and looking up at them attentively. 
It throws them for a moment.  He’s looked at them like this before, but it’s never hit them quite like this. 
“LB?” he says, when they don’t respond.  “You okay?" 
They sigh, slipping down to sit next to him.  "I think so."  The smile they give him feels weak, but it strengthens in response to the bright look he returns it with.  "First step’s the hardest part, right?" 
"It’s okay if it’s not."  Chat Noir’s voice is soft, more serious than they’re used to hearing him.  "Take your time if you need it." 
Marinette flounders for a second and then hopes he doesn’t notice. "I don’t want to, really.  I’m just-” They sigh, hand returning to their bracelet and fidgeting with it.  The beads click together satisfyingly.  Knowing Chat, there’s a decent chance that was unintentional, but it’s soothing anyway.  “Scared.  I’m scared.  Coming out as Ladybug feels safer."  Their hands drop away again.  "Like sleeping with a light on.  At least this way I’ll have my mask.  You know?" 
Chat Noir’s quiet again, but he has his tail in his lap and is running his thumb over the buckle, so Marinette waits for him to speak up. 
"Sort of,” he says slowly, and they’re glad they waited.  “Transforming is taking the mask off, for me." 
Marinette’s always suspected that, but it still saddens them to hear it. 
They take a deep breath.  "Not for me." 
"I know."  Chat’s hand finds theirs, twining their fingers together.  "Whenever you’re ready."  He leans his head against their shoulder, and another smile lights his words.  "M'theydy."

ive been thinking about buying skyrim special edition since its on sale for about half off so that i can have better graphics without having to figure out how to do that enb shit and faster loading times. most good mods have been transferred over to special edition anyways right?

Right so I spent all afternoon yesterday trying to fix a lagging problem that just showed up after I tried installing BodyTalk and all the bullshit requirements. Somewhere it goofed and tl;dr I had to delete all the saves. Those were run tests anyway so whatever. So without the pressure of "omg what if it fucks up my save" I decided to give an ENB a try.
Yes, yes, I know. ENBs and I have a past and not a good one at that but I wanted to try. More specifically because of PRC which looks brutal and beautiful all at once. Was intimidated by all the talk of performance and who knows maybe my laptop can handle it but honestly I'm still PC gaming illiterate. Anyway I opted for another one and it looked promising but I didn't like what it was doing to my shadows so I uninstalled it. I'll keep an eye out for a good ENB as apparently I installed the damn thing successfully. For now I'll stick to NAC's innate color changer.
I also went ahead and saved my characters' presets which is super helpful.

The colors look odd as this was taken with the ENB on. I went with a different base for Jelani, Loke and Ingvarr and I'm actually satisfied. Tweaked Angelus some more as well and honestly I love it!
In order as they appear: Ginger, Abigail, Sanaa, Jelani, Trevor, Loke and Angelus.

My most magnificent mega must (have) mods memo.
So, I’ve been putting this off (big surprise!), but the time has come! I am going to try and provide some recommendations of my favorite mods. Mods I will not play the game without, or mods I love so much, I can’t recommend them highly enough! Hopefully some of you will find a new excuse to play one of these games again! I will split the list up into games so you skip if you don’t play a certain game. Again, these are my personal recommendations, so please don’t get all bent out of shape over this people. I also won’t be adding the very amazing utility mods (such as SkyUI or mcm or mod organizers) as I feel these are required mods. Today's installment -  
~Skyrim~
VIGILANT  +  VIGILANT Voiced - English Addon Okay, where do I start with the amazingingness of the mod? It’s massive, compelling, scary (chapter 3 holy fucking shitballs, batman!), and just absolutely perfectly executed on every level horror mod! This is not a mod you complete in a couple of hours, this you need to put aside a day or 2 and go through all 5 chapters! 1 guy made this. 1 awesome japanese dovha, alas it’s not as adored as it should be as, when originally released, the english subtitles (literally translations from Google) didn’t really translate well... or at all at some points. Hence why you need the voiced addon which makes this mod a 15+ hour, fully awesomely voiced adventure to seek out daedra, and be physically, and morally tested by the one and only Daedric Prince of domination, Molag Bal. Your choices WILL affect the outcome. This mod gives you everything you want from a mod. New weapons, new armour, new enemies, dark soul like boss battles, new places, new people, new land. With Halloween quickly approaching, this is the perfect time to give this a shot! 
Legacy of the Dragonborn
I stayed away from this mod for SO long thinking it was just a massive oversize player home to put all your crap on display. I was wrong. I was SO wrong. This mod is the ultimate scavenger hunt turned up to 11. It adds some of the best mods out there and puts them all together to make you WANT to go find that bloody staff, or helm, because A, it now looks amazing, and B, there’s a place for EVERYTHING in the museum, it must be filled! It adds old relics, new quests, a very gorgeous fair sized player home, you get to go to Elsweyr, and even get an airship you CAN use later! And trust me when I say, there is nothing that looks quite as impressive as your dovah walking around a city with your massive ass airship looming overhead. The way everything gets placed into the world is fucking flawless, and if you’re bored or just want more out of Skyrim, this is the mod that does that, and WAY more. Also a massive bonus, it has several patches for other mods that didn’t get incorporated (vigilant being among them) to add extra wings for you to display the items from other mods! 
Interesting NPCs
Another mod I stupidly avoided to begin with. So as we know, vanilla followers are... meh. But now with all these new battles and exploring you have to do, you might want someone watching your back, right? Forget vanilla, time to go interesting! This mod adds -
• 250+ Voiced NPCs • 25+ Followers with Location Based Commentary • 15+ Marriage NPCs 
This mod makes Skyrim feel inhabited, but with REAL people. People who you can, should, and will want to talk to. The voice acting is just fantastic, the characters are an absolute joy, they fit into the world so perfectly you’d never know they weren’t there all along! Well... Except for the fact they’re actually interesting, and have more than 5 things to say! It also has something called ‘Super Followers’. These followers actually comment on what’s happening in your story. Just about to go kill your first dragon? They have something to say about it. Just joined the college of mages? Have a chat to see what they think! I can not express how much this will change your game, but 151% for the fucking better! Oh! And just in case you were running short on things to do, this also adds 50+ more quests! *(footnote) Pleaaassssee go to Soljund's Sinkhole and take Rumarin with you. What he says when you clear that place out has me laughing my ass off every time.
Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul
Are you tired of being the only one is Skyrim who actually seems to DO anything? Are you weirded out by the fact when you walk into an inn at 4am everyone is doing the same thing as they were at 2pm last week? Confused as hell by the comment ‘Do you hunt? The plains outside Whiterun are ripe with game.’ How the fuck would you know, Anoriath?! You never leave Whiterun, dude! EVER! That ends with this mod. Now people have routines. They sleep, they eat, they walk around, they don’t just stay in one place all the time! It makes the npc’s go from a static feature and changes them into actual people, or goes a long way to help! Even people like carriage drivers now have a lil tent near the carriage, and will even take shelter under cover if it starts raining. (if it’s not too far from the carriage!) Random people will now not try and fight the big dragon who is burning everything to a crisp, but instead run away and take shelter, you know, like a normal person would? Which is helpful, as I tend to hit them with a stray spell then get into shit for accidentally electrocuting the blacksmith or someone who shouldn’t have stood in the way of the MASSIVE FUCKING DRAGON IN THE FIRST PLACE! Anyway... This mod is awesome and makes all the vanilla npc’s less static and weird!  
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul - RDO
Don’t know about you but, I’m kinda bored with the dialogue in this game. The same 5 lines on repeat, over and over and OVER again. I want people who hate me to say something a bit more nasty that ‘What do YOU want?’ This mod adds over 5000 lines of dialog that was never used. Braith finally has more insults to throw at you! Which is great, because I hate that kid and now you will too! Your rivals will be rude to you. Your friends will compliment you. And your spouse will finally say more than a handful of lines to you! With this and the AI overhaul Skyrim will finally feel like it’s come alive. It seems like such a small addition, but it makes a huge impact when you hear lines that you’ve never heard before! 
PC Head Tracking and Voice Type &  Expressive Facial Animation (M)  (F)
So we’ve finally got a living breathing Skyrim, and holy shit, it’s a beautiful thing, right? Time to focus on bringing you to life. Don’t know about you, but I found it plain fucking odd that I didn’t ever look at the person who’s talking to me. Like, not even accidently. I also found it creepy the only time I ever made any sound whatsoever was when I shouted. So the first mod is going to fix that shit. You’ll finally look at the person talking to you, or at that dagger you’re just about to steal. What's more, you’ll be able to assign a voice to yourself, so you’ll greet people who talk to you. Fun doesn’t stop there! You can download voice packs such as, Ciri, Yenifer and loads of others! But... What if you know who you want them to sound like and there isn’t a pack for them? Well, make your own! The page is really good and explains how. So we’re not a clueless goon anymore, we look and talk, but that basically makes us no better than the T 800 terminator. The second mod will make you actually have emotions, instead of constant blank face. You’ll smile at friends and loved ones, and scowl at people who you hate, like you Elrindir. For the last time, I didn’t mean to steal the fucking apple pie! But I think me spending HUNDREDS of gold should have made up for that and did NOT warrant you sending a group of thugs to come kick the shit out of me!  Sorry. Just... Some unfinished business between me and that bastard bosmer. 
Enhanced Lights and FX
I have a potato as a laptop, as such a lot of these amazing ENB’s are totally off the table for me. But... We all deserve a pretty Skyrim, right? Fuck yes we do! And this is the mod that does that for me. So there are two versions of this bad boy, and you will really want to think about which one you want to go for. You’ve got standard, or hardcore. The MAIN difference is, the hardcore version will make dungeons dark. No, I mean pitch black darkness. Really think you know bleak fall barrow? Install hardcore then go run through it. It make sense that it would be dark down in these places, but fuck me dark is now really dark, which I personally love, but you might not. Install at least the main file and the weather mod and I guarantee when you boot your game back up you’ll be saying ‘wow’.  
Enhanced Character Edit  OR  RaceMenu
Okay, first off you only need one or the other NOT both. Here’s the difference. If you want to make a character that looks like they’re from FFXV or korean mmo, you’ll want to get Enhanced character edit. They’re all so damn pretty! Even the men are pretty! If you want something a little less cute looking and maybe more mature, Racemenu is character creator for you. Both give you a TON more customization when creating your new oc, down to finger and toe length and what’s not to love about that?? 
Enhanced Camera
You finally have a body in first person mode. not just hands when attacking. Which FYI Bethesda, is creepy as fuck. Next mod. 
Familiar Faces
Right, last one as we could be here forever, but I need to do more of these things for other games so let's finish with something stupid, but awesome, shall we? You know who’d make the best companion? That spellsword character you made. Or the sneaky archer. Or that tanky as fuck warrior, but they’re on that other save.. No more! When you fire up the game with this mod installed, you get a portal stone placed in your inventory. Use it and get get warped into this empty hall. Go to any of the books on the pedestals and hit yes when prompted. You, your abilities, spells, shouts, game progress and inventory has just been recorded. Load up another save and do the same in a different book, then you can go recruit... you! You can even make yourself marribale! Got that perfect otp? Create them both and have them travel around with you! Want them to use their shouts? No problem! Want them to not use shouts? That’s fine too! Isn’t that overpowered? Who gives a flying fuck?! 
Now go have fun in Tamriel, Bahlaan fahdonne!

*claps hands* I am BACK from vacation! And I’m starting a NEW Fallout 4 playthrough 😏 
AND this time I’m going to *try* to keep track of WHAT the actual fuck I’m doing so I can actually establish Post-War canon for my boy. Which is changing. From the previously slapped together Post-War canon that consisted of me trying to remember which, exactly, playthrough did this happen in? How, exactly, did that quest play out canonically, because I remember it three different ways? Anyway, that’s exciting. 
So, If you came here for FO4 screenshots (is... that why people follow me? I have no idea why y’all are here, my original content is sub-mediocre, like I don’t... art or anything?... but I do reblog some pretty lit stuff coz y’all out here making good Fallout things for me to reblog!) expect more of that! Hi I'm not back as such as I found a comic on Pinterest, and wanted to repost it here (it's the selkie one btw) because I could and I'm on hiatus because I can be and it's relaxing being off tumblr and I have serious problems going on in my life and I do not like coming onto tumblr just to have terfs bombard me with shit because they can't decide to be decent people to trans and non binary and they get shitty at people who love and cherish trans and enbs. So idk. I'm just staying off tumblr in general for a while. I have enough shit in my life, I don't need terfs breathing their hatred over me. Don't like me? Good luck with that, I've hated myself since I was five. Shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down, Karen, you're not special. Anyways, I'm thinking about making a separate tumblr so I can post purely witchcraft and aesthetic things, which was what this mess of a blog was SUPPOSED to be for, but life's full of disappointments and I'm fucking one of them. This blog was made with a set goal in mind, which was to avoid toxicity, but apparently I attract toxic people due to having an opinion. 🤷‍♀️ oh well.
