ITS JUST A KISS
Monoma⊠is broke. That is, until, he starts working part time in Recovery Girlâs office by copying her quirk. Itâs all going well until a certain someone shows up with injuries that need to be healedâŠ
inspired by this post! monoma x fem!reader, fluff <3
word count: 1.6k (!!!)
âKirishima, Y/nâ youâre up next.âÂ
Y/n takes in a deep breath before she steps onto the platform. Todayâs class is combat practice, and students were put in pairs assigned by Mr. Aizawa. Y/nâs up against Kirishimaâ and heâs great! But thatâs the problem. Heâll definitely be a tough opponent.Â
âWhoever gets the other to step off the platform firstâ or to surrender, will win.âÂ
Kirishima gives Y/n a determined grin as he hardens his arm, and Y/n returns the favor as she powers up her own quirk.Â
âAnd⊠fight!âÂ
Kirishima throws a punch, Y/n dodges. Y/n kicks Kirishimaâs leg. Kirishima gets a hit in on Y/nâs side, then Y/n punches him right in the chest. It goes on like this, each of them landing hits one after the other. Everyone is watching the fight closely, excited to see who will win in the end. Then, a loud noise is heard, causing Y/n to turn her head.Â
âI am here!â All Might exclaims, and Y/n gets a tiny bit distracted from her fight because, hello, itâs All Might!Â
Wait, focusâ fangirl about All Might later! She looks back over to Kirishima, and his hand flies right out to her face. She stumbles backward, and falls onto the green grass next to the platform. Right out of bounds.Â
âKirishima wins this round.â Aizawa says, âY/n, are you okay?âÂ
âYeahâŠâ Y/n didnât hit her head on the ground or anything, but she puts her hand on her forehead and sees that it has some blood on it.Â
âAh, shit. Sorry Y/n! I didnât mean to hit your head like that, it wasnât very manly of me.â Kirishima offers his hand out and helps Y/n stand up.Â
âThatâs okay,â she smiles, ânothing Recovery Girl canât fix later. Good fight!âÂ
The cut on her head wasnât bad enough to cause great concern, but Aizawa sent Y/n down to Recovery Girlâs office anyways.Â
Dang, I really wanted to see Momo go up against Uraraka, Y/n thinks as she knocks on the door to the nurses office.Â
âCome on in.â A voiceâ definitely not Recovery Girlâs voice, says. Y/n cautiously opens the door, only for her eyes to meetâ
âMonoma?!âÂ
âY/n? How delightful to see you here!â Monoma welcomes her inside, warm smile on his face, but Y/n is still skeptical.Â
She crosses her arms. âWhat are you doing here?âÂ
âRecovery Girl was kind enough to let me work part time in the nurses office.â Monoma smirks, âThe best part about it is that I get to see how many of you 1-A idiots end up in here injured! Not nearly as many Class B students get hurt likeââÂ
âNow, now, calm down Monoma. Youâre supposed to be helping.â Recovery girl says, and Y/n tries her best not to laugh. âHeal her cut for me, will you dear?âÂ
Monomaâs smug demeanor seems to fall, his eyes going wide as his head turns to Recovery Girl. âHeal her? Butâ itâs just a small cut!âÂ
âWait, how would he heal me?â Y/n cuts in.Â
âWell, as you know, Monoma here can copy quirks,â Recovery girl explains, âIâve had him copy my quirk so he could heal non-emergency people. This way I can go be right on the scene of classes like yours, where bad injuries are prone to happen.âÂ
âŠInteresting. Besides his quirk, Monoma is the least suitable student to be helping out like this. From what Y/n has seen, Monoma only likes to help his classmates, and definitely notClass 1-A.Â
âSpeaking of, Iâm off to find your class now. Theyâre outside on the platform left of the main building, yes?âÂ
Y/n nods. âTake good care of our patients, Monoma!â The door closes behind Recovery Girl as she leaves the nurses office.
And now it was just the two of them.Â
Monoma sighs. âSit.â He says, pointing towards one of the doctorâs beds in the room.Â
He always has so much attitude, Y/n thinks, but she sits where he told her to anyways. She would leave, but itâs probably not the best idea to leave her cut unattended.Â
Stupid Monoma. His âIâm-better-than-youâ attitude and that smug smirk thatâs always on his face is so⊠ugh. If he was less of an asshole, heâd be cute.Â
Wait, what am I even saying??
Monoma isnât cute. Heâs not. Y/n hasnât thought that, not even for a secondâ
âDamn girl, this cutâs worse than I thought.â Y/n almost jumps at the sound of Monomaâs voice next to her. He stands in front of Y/n, placing various medical items down next to her. When heâs done with that, he frowns. âWho did this to you?âÂ
Y/n studies Monomaâs expression. Usually heâd be teasing her, saying that with his idiotic smirk on his face. Call her crazy, but he almost looks⊠worried? Weird.Â
âKirishima,â She answers, âit was an accident though! I got distracted and his hand slipped.âÂ
Monoma grunts inâ understanding? Disapproval? Y/n doesnât know.Â
âIdiot.â Monoma mutters, and Y/nâs not sure if heâs talking about her or Kirishima. His hand taps Y/nâs thighs. âSpread out your legs.â
She gives him a suspicious look. âMy cutâs on my head, dummy.âÂ
âYeah, no shit,â He pushes her legs apart himself, and then he stands between them. âSee? Now I can get to your cut easier. Dummy.âÂ
Monoma takes a wet cloth and starts to clean around the cut and heâ well, he smells nice. That might seem like a random thing to say, but he is right up in Y/nâs face right now, which is being flooded with the smell of subtle cologne. He just smells nice.Â
Y/n usually keeps her distance from this guy, but he isnât that bad up close. The Monoma that Y/n sees right now isnât the obnoxious little shit thatâs always talking trash about 1-A, but a concerned⊠classmate? Friend?Â
And, Y/n has to admit to herself, maybe heâs a little cute. Just a little bit. Itâs totally the blue eyesâ or the hair. Or the voiceâ Okay, not gonna think about that anymore.Â
Monoma puts the cloth down, his eyes meeting Y/nâs. âIâm gonna kiss you.âÂ
âWhat?!â Y/n exclaims, her face quickly turning pink. Where the hell did that come from? Monoma just laughs. He gently takes Y/nâs face in his hands and kisses her forehead.Â
Wait. Copying Recovery Girlâs quirk⊠he was just kissing me to heal my cut, that makes sense! Y/n hadnât realized that until now.Â
His quirk mustâve malfunctioned somehow, though, because that kiss didnât make Y/n feel better. It made her heart start beating really fast, andâ is it hot in here? Because Y/n definitely feels hot.Â
Oh.Â
Monomaâs smirk appears back on his face. âY/n, are you blushing? Aww! Want me to kiss you again?âÂ
âShut up!â Y/nâs eyes go to anywhere in the room, just not on him. Shit, she canât like Monoma! The guy that, like, all of your friends hate? That hates you? Well, isnât that just great.Â
Monomaâs still standing where he has been, right in Y/nâs space. Itâs not helping. She finally decides to look back at him, because he probably should have moved away by now. He really should, before Y/n does something that sheâd regret.Â
âOh,â He says simply, taking Y/nâs left hand in his. âYouâre bleeding here too.â He wipes the blood off of Y/nâs hand with a cloth, then presses his mouth to her palm. Another kiss, yet there wasnât even a cut on her hand. That was just blood from her forehead.Â
âUm⊠thereâs no cut on my hand.â Y/n points out, and Monoma just nods.Â
âGreat observation, Y/n,â He teases, âIâm aware of that. I just wanted to see if your face could get any redder.âÂ
Y/n rolls her eyes. âYouâre gonna have to try harder than that to get me to blush.â She says, despite her now red face.Â
âAlright then,â Monoma starts, leaning in just a little bit closer. âguess Iâll have to keep trying then.â
âIâŠâ Before Y/n can stop herself, she glances down at Monomaâs lips. Iâm about to do something stupid, arenât I? âY-â
âY/n! Are you in there?â Ochako knocks on the door, startling both Y/n and Monoma. Y/n quickly stands up as she walks into the room. ââŠMonoma? What are you doing here?âÂ
âOh, Ochako! Who won your match?â Y/n asks, partly to take the attention off of her but mostly because sheâs curious.Â
Ochako grins and puts her hands on her hips. âMe! Momo was quite the tough opponent though, I just barely wonâŠâ She shrugs. âSpeaking of class, Aizawa sent me to find you. We should hurry back, Deku and Bakugo are up next!â
If you know Izuku and Bakugo, you know that this fight is going to be intense. Itâll definitely be entertaining to watch too, which is why Ochako grabs Y/nâs hand and starts to lead them back to class.Â
Y/n tries to look over her shoulder at Monoma, but Ochako closed the door on their way out.Â
âHey, what was Monoma doing in there?â Ochako asks.Â
Almost kissing me, Y/n thinks, but she probably shouldnât say that. âHeâs⊠working for Recovery Girl. Copied her quirk and stuff.â
âWhatt? I never wouldâve imagined him as a nurse, he doesnât seem like the type of guy to help others like thatâŠâÂ
Y/n nods in agreement. He didnât seem like her type either, yet here he was making her all flustered.Â
Seriously, out of all people, Neito Monoma?
Youâre an idiot, Y/n.Â
should I make a part 2? đ€

Apologies for the late post, I've been going through it in school. and as I said again, im pretty new to writing so constructive criticism or advice is needed :)

âDo you know who you're going to prom with?â You turned to look at Sam, walking down the school hallway to your shared class. Prom has been a topic of conversations since they first revealed it two months ago. Now, prom will happen in two weeks, and all the young teens are procrastinating to look for partners.
âUgh, no! I don't even know why our school decided to add this thing. We don't have to copy Americans, let them do their thing and we will do our thing.â She groaned loudly. You looked around you, noticing people glancing at her weirdly.
âOkay⊠but the students voted for it, not the school. So technically it's our fault.â You whispered, tugging her closer to remind her to lower her voice. You thought about who might ask you out. Xavi has been eyeing you for a while, but he was caught creating fake Instagram accounts to catfish girls. So there is no possible way of you agreeing to go with him. Edward was a year older than you, and you've been chatting with him at lunch. As much as you enjoyed the conversations with him, you didn't feel anything with him. He was the most attractive guy in his grade, his hazel eyes and dark skin made the girls swoon around him. For you, his personality isn't as attractive as his face, therefore you aren't crazy about him.
Then there is Paul, your childhood friend. You've known him since first grade, sitting together at the school park. In your head, you had imagined your friendship to stay forever, until you both get jobs and live close to each other. But after the both of you hit puberty, he started to act weird and felt uncomfortable around you. You hated it, but you knew it was bound to happen anyways.
It also didn't help you how attractive he grew to be, his short dark hair matched his brown eyes but also contrasted with his pale skin. His soft smile and attentive personality made many of the girls attach to his hip. You were never insecure about your looks, but now you started to question yourself. Did he stop our friendship because I was too ugly?
At some point, some of the girls came up to you and asked what he likes so they can âbuy him a giftâ. Your response was an easy lie, âI don't remember, it's been years.â
That doesn't make you guys strangers, he still comes and talks to you every once in a while, just like now.
âHey y/n⊠can we talk privately?â Paul startled you. You turned to look at him with confusion, the last time you talked to each other was last month when he asked for the English homework (which you reluctantly gave to him out of kindness⊠and because you're a people pleaser). You glanced at Sam to check if she's okay with you leaving her, she gave you a small nod and left the both of you alone.
âSo⊠have any plans for the winter dance? Or prom I don't even know what it is.â He awkwardly grabbed your arm and pulled you to the side of the corridor to not interrupt the people walking.
âAre you asking me out as your date?â You questioned slowly.
âWhat! NoâŠi mean yes. Do you want to come with me?â He shook his head, obviously distracted with something. You stayed silent for a few seconds to think about it. You aren't a âpartyâ person, but the winter prom is a new thing and you wanted to experience it for once. Paul was a complicated guy, he wouldn't talk to you for months and then approach you like nothing happened. At least when he does approach you, he treats you right, or thatâs what you thought.
âSureâŠdo you have any planning? For the dress or just the day as a whole?â You asked. Everytime you watch an American teen movie, you imagine yourself and Mr. Perfect together at a shop buying a dress, the shocked face when they see you going down the stairs all glammed up, going to dinner before prom, and having a soft kiss at the danceâŠ. Although now you don't really feel like sharing your first kiss with Paul.
âOh?... What thing for the dress? And no, I didn't volunteer for the dance so I didn't plan anything with the organizers,â And just like that your hopes were crushed, of course a 14 year old boy wouldn't know a thing about romance. He clearly didn't care about what dress you'll wear, or what the both of you would do before the event. You shook your head with a sigh, faking a smile and walking past him to your class. âOhhh! I did vote for you for prom queen⊠you know? So we both can be like âfamousâ. You should vote for me, if that's what you mean.â
You felt disappointed, pretending not to hear him and walked into your first class. Great. He ruined your day and it just started.
-
Your parents were excited when you told them about Paul asking you. Of course, they've known him for years and his parents are in touch with yours. You were at the store trying to look for an âage appropriateâ dress. Your father is staying in the car, obviously fed up with the indecisive behaviors from you and your mom.
âLook, this is great!â You heard your mom cheer from the back of the store, she came up to you with a flower print dress and a bright smile on her face.
âMom, it looks like I work on a farm.â You sighed, turning to the other side where there are dresses lined up.
âAre you serious? It looks amazing. I like it!â Yeah, you like it. You turned to look at it again, but the sadness in your mother's face caught you off guard. So you decided to lie. You grabbed the dress from her hand and turned it to see it âfrom every angleâ.
âYou know what? I think it's great. And it's not expensive like the other dresses here.â You faked a smile and looked at the cashier that was standing uncomfortably close to the both of you. You handed her the dress and both went to the checkout.
For you, making decisions isn't something you care about. Everytime you think of something, you'd agree with the others because at the end of the day âit's not that seriousâ. Sometimes, your friends end up scolding you for choosing people's happiness over yours. But when you turned to glance at your mother's happy smile, it was worth it.

Wed 19th of December 2012
The next week, Paul had thrown your prom ticket into your locker with no message or any indication. At least he bought you the ticket. Sam has gotten sick as well as the other two girls close to the both of you. She had sent you a message saying she probably won't be at prom, explaining in great details of her vomit and sickness.
You felt all alone and the class has never felt emptier. Fleur had a major knee injury from football practice, two guys were suspended for a fight. Students are calling this week a curse, considering that it's wednesday and prom will just be in a few days. The filled class now is almost half empty, making the class feel quiet.
âOkayâŠsince most of the students are absent, we won't take a lesson today,â Cheers erupted from the class, happy to not have biology. âI'm not done! You will be partnered up to discuss prom preparations.â
The atmosphere changed from cheering to groaning in a second. You glanced at Paul, wondering if he would be your partner. You hoped that Paul would realize he has responsibilities for prom today when the both of you discuss it. But as the teacher started labeling the partners, you realized that it doesn't matter who is your date, she is randomly assigning them.
âElisa and Marie you don't need to sit at the back anymore, the class is practically empty. Elisa, you sit with y/n. Katoto, sit with Adam.â You sighed frustratingly, why her? During the two months of school, she has been treating you like dirt. Ignoring you and always avoiding you. Whenever teachers put you in groups, she'd ask the teacher if she can be partnered with Fleur instead.
But she's been more open and relaxed now, and it's somehow freaking you out. She has made some friendships there and there with the other girls. She laughs louder, jokes more with her side of the class. And even if her ignorance towards you confused you at first, it wasnât why you were freaked out. It's how she treats the girls in class. It's like the guysâŠbut gentler? She stares at Amy the same way the guys do, with heart eyes. And all of this frustrates you, because why is she looking at Amy like that? She's not supposed to like Amy. And why is she treating every girl in the class sweetly except you?
Everytime you catch her looking at Amy, you remember that Quora comment. Admittedly, you've been thinking about it everyday for the past 2 months. When youâre near her, you stutter and avoid looking at her eyes. Because when Elisa looks at your eyes, she can read you. And although you know you're not necessarily hiding anything, you don't want Elisa to know how she affects you.
Elisa rolled her eyes in annoyance when the teacher told her to move to sit next to you. Of course it would be you. Your bubbly and nice personality makes her sick, because right when it comes to her, you become mute. It feels as though her sitting next to you makes you feel grossed out and disgusted. It doesn't help how Sam glances at the both of you everytime Elisa walks past you. It's like you have told her something about her, that elisa is some sick joke you told her about. Growing up, Elisa realized that not many people liked her. But she didn't care, until it was you.
You were kind and sweet to everyone. Whenever anyone asks for help, you're always there. Whenever you have to be surrounded by people you don't even like, you're still respectful and treat them well. But why is it when it comes to her, you ignore her? Every time she's near you, she sees your uncomfortable glance, sheâs already used to it by now, but it still breaks her.
Homophobia isnât something surprising, itâs everywhere. But again, the most non-judgemental person⊠you, she didnât expect you to be just like everyone else.
She threw her bag next to your seat as she sighed. Of course sheâs already groaning around you. You rolled your eyes at her dramatic reaction, pulling open your notes to write anything you need for the prom. You wrote âdressâ check, âhairâ... youâll just straighten it, âmake upâ youâll ask Sam to help you with it. You glanced at Elisa, a blush ran through your face when you saw the sketch of a woman on her notes. Does she have a date? Did she get asked⊠or did she ask a girl out? There is no way sheâd go with a boy⊠just the idea of Elisa with a boy makes your stomach churn, and you donât know why it would feel better if she would be with a girl, a person like you.
âUm⊠so, do you have a date?â You stammered, trying to act casual about the question, as if it hasnât been on your mind all month.
She looked away from her sketch to glance at you, âno.â
âWhy not?â
Elisa was silent for a moment, âFleur tore her ACL so she wonât come with me.â
Fleur? Why Fleur? Your kind smile slowly turned to a frown, fuck I know I said it would make me feel better if she would ask a girl out but Fleur? Does she like her? No way.
Elisa noticed the way your smile turned into disgust. At first, panic started to get into her head, would you tell everyone that she wanted her date to be a girl? Itâs okay, right? A lot of girls go with their friends? Fleur is her friend. But her panic turned into anger, fuck you and your disgusting beliefs. Of course you wouldnât like the fact sheâs into women, and although she never said she's gay out loud, anyone who glances at her knows about it.
âACL injuries are really serious, tell her I wish her a speedy recovery.â You mumbled, you didnât know why youâre acting this way, and why does it happen every time with Elisa. Elisa ignored what you said and continued to draw. You were looking at her sketch from the corner of your eyes, what else would she add? Big boobs? Blonde hair? Is her type in girls the same as the boysâ? But suddenly Elisa stopped drawing for a second and took a deep breath, then she scribbled all over the drawing, ripping the page away from her notebook and standing angrily to throw it away in the bin.
When she sat back, she moved her seat slightly away from you. You lowered your head feeling shame, what did you do to deserve this from her? Your heart did the fluttering thing again around her, but now itâs because of the heartbreak of rejection. Elisa kept on tapping the pencil on the paper, writing nothing on her notebook. You glanced at Paul, realizing that he was partnered with Amy. Because of the panic of Elisa sitting next to you, you didnât even think about Paul. Great, Paul is with the hottest girl in class and Elisa here hates your ass, you already knew Sam would be tired from the phone call this evening.
You glanced at the teacher quickly to make sure she's not looking at you. You grabbed your phone and opened the chats between you and Sam and sent her a message.
âSam I'm sorry for the monster I'd be when we call today.â
Elisa noticed you using your phone, slightly surprised since you've always been the âgoodâ girl of the class. She saw you texting Sam, quickly diverting her eyes away from your phone. Are you texting Sam about the drawing? Is she seriously that grossed out by a silly drawing? Elisa's frustration has faded, now filled with sorrow. How can someone be filled with that much hatred? How can you sit here and act all cute and innocent to everyone but react this way over a drawing?
Right when the bell rang, Elisa grabbed her bag and left first, not even waiting for Katoto. You breathed out slowly, glad that she's not sitting next to you anymore. The rest of the school day was miserable, feeling all alone. At lunch, you sat on the âloner benchesâ, which are placed behind the school buildings near the football pitch. It's called that because nobody usually notices it, so it's always empty. For once, you were too tired to be friendly and socialize with people you can't stand.
When you were watching the football game, you noticed Elisa playing. Sighing, you got up and walked to the building, deciding to help out the nurse in easy tasks like bandages. She likes you, and had previously written notes to the teachers for you âto skipâ their classes. And after what happened in class with Elisa, you really didn't want to face her again.
When you reached the nurse office, you saw Ms. Eugene frantically running around her office to grab things into her giant bag. When she turned to look at you she gasped, âoh thank God! I was about to call the office to bring you,â She grasped your arm, pulling you to sit in her office. âMy daughter⊠she's sick, they called right now. Can you please take over my place? You know we don't have other nurses, and I trust you. You're very smart, y/n. If anyone came here with something more serious than a cut, don't hesitate to call the ambulance.â She rambled, her face filled with stress as she grasped her keys.
âI can stay here, just let the office know so I don't get counted as absent,â You were getting more worried about her daughter the more you looked at her. Ms. Eugene is a single mom of a 3 year old girl, having to carry the responsibilities of both parents as one. She nodded at what you said, and pulled the door open. âI hope everything works out with baby Lee.â
She turned to look at you with grateful eyes, and left you alone. You were stressed about the new âjobâ you got, but excitement started filling you when you looked around. The posters, the small medications, the tapes and bandages. You can now pretend to be a nurse! You pulled out your phone to text Sam about your new adventure, until a knock made you flinch.
You glanced at the door, yelling out a âcome inâ. When the door opened, you heard Elisa's pained voice, âNurse Eugene?â
When Elisa glanced at you, she rolled her eyes and limped outside, making sure to shut the door as loud as possible. Usually, you would be hurt at this. But by the way Elisa was limping, you jumped up from the big chair and ran out to see what happened.
âElisa, are you serious?!â You pulled the door open, finding her limping down the stairs. She looks up to see you and asks, âWhat are you even doing here? Where is the actual nurse?â
âShe had a family emergency,â You followed her down the stairs, âElisa you're limping! I'm just going to tape you and you will not see my face again.â Your voice cracked as you said the last part. Usually you're good at masking your feelings, but Elisa's pained face in front of you and the way she ran away from you broke you.
Elisa groaned loudly and took a step forward, holding onto the stairsâ railing and following you back into the nurse's office. When she got in the room, she limply sat on the bed. Glancing at the wall in front of her instead of you.
She had heard the neediness from your voice, and it made her heart throb quicker. Even when you clearly feel disgust around her, at least you were worried about her right? Did you do this because you cared about her? Or because you didn't want to get in trouble?
You brought disinfectant wipes, a cotton ball, pre wrap, and a tape. You placed them near her on the bed then turned to look at her to see what actually happened. Elisa lifted her foot up to show that the injury was there, and when you looked down you saw a trail of blood and a cut on her lower shin.
You pointed at the bed as your face scrunched in worry. Awkwardly, Elisa twisted her body towards you and layed down, resting her upper body on her arms behind her. You sat on the bed too, making sure the tapes were near you.
You grabbed the wipes packet, glancing at Elisa to make sure she knows it will be painful. But she was already looking at your face, so you panicked and just placed the wipe directly at the cut.
âFuck!â She pulled her leg away and threw the wipe away. But you grabbed her foot and pulled it to your lap, using a different wipe and attempting to clean up the cut again. Elisaâs hiss was loud, and it involuntarily made your breath hitch and bite your lip for a second. You had to stop being inappropriate and dirty minded. It's disrespectful, so you tried to ignore it and continued cleaning up the wound. But when her defined and thick calf tensed up, you froze. Of course she will have muscles⊠She plays football!
âCan you be quick? It's burning me.â Elisa's frustrated groan pulled you out of the daydreams, so you quickly placed your right hand on a piece of cotton there and awkwardly tried to place the pre-wrap over it with your left hand. Elisa saw you struggle so she placed her fingers on yours over the cotton pad.
You quickly removed your fingers from her warm hand, and started wrapping her shin tightly with the pre-wrap. It was easier now to be completely focused on the injury in front of you instead of Elisaâs gaze or warm hand, it was your dream to major in a medical field and you didnât want to harm Elisa or tape it wrong.
All Elisa was doing while you were taping her shin is look at your face. She was intrigued on how you knew how to do this. For her, she plays football and itâs mandatory for all of the players to know how to tape and deal with certain injuries. But for you, she wasnât sure on how you knew how to do this⊠or how youâre good at so many things, you were just perfect in everything in her eyes.
She shook her head at her thoughts and looked at your hands instead, watching you bring the sticky white tape and securing her shin just like the physio at her academy. When you were done, you softly tapped her foot, indicating that she can lift it now. She removes her foot from your thighs and twists her body to sit on the bed instead, forcedly turning her head to look at you with a thankful smile, âyou taped it well, thank you.â
You shrugged and looked down at both your feet, dangling them around as you bit your lip in embarrassment, âThank you, Iâve always wanted to do this in the future soâŠâ
âBe a school nurse?â Elisa asked.
âNo, just anything with the medical field.â You replied. Elisa didnât realize how close you were both sitting next to each other until she accidentally nudged your foot when she started moving her feet like you. She stood up, making sure not to put her weight on her foot, and walked to the door.
âGood luck with that, youâre smart and I think youâll be able to do it.â You looked up to see her at the door, heart slightly warming at what she said. You smiled gratefully at her and nodded, before mumbling a short, âgood luck with football.â
Elisa giggled with a shrug at your comment, and closed the door behind her delicately this time. You released a breath you didnât know you were holding and hid your face in your hands. Why was it comforting to you that she thinks your hard work will actually get you to your dream major? Did she lie to make you feel better?...Elisa hates lying, you have noticed that because everytime she doesnât like anything sheâd stay quietâŠnot lie.
But the door was opened shortly, Elisa appearing again with a flustered smile, âI forgot to ask you for a nurse pass.â
You raised your face from your hands and nodded in her direction, standing up from the bed to the desk and writing a note. When you reached âtime:â on the notes, you turned to look at Elisa, âHey Elisa⊠Do you want to go to class now or walk around the school? I can lie about the time and basically give you free time.â
She looked away from a random poster and turned to look at you with a bright smile, the ones kids do when they get offered candy. âWill you actually do that for me?â
You giggled at her reaction with a nod, she skipped happily and sat on the bed again. She turned to look at you with a grateful smile and pulled out her phone from her pocket, âthank you, I canât stand the PE teacher or any of the students.â
You hummed in agreement as you sat there awkwardly. Elisa continued scrolling through her screen, while you were just looking at her. âIf the teacher asks you why it took you so long you should say that you were dizzy and almost passed out because it is mandatory for nurses to keep students in their office for a minimum of 20 minutes.â
She looks away from her phone to look at you for a second before returning her eyes back, âyeah thanks.â
You didnât like how she wasnât really talking to you, even when you knew she didn't like you at all. For a second, it felt like all the tension that was there in the morning had oozed away, but you soon realized that you had to accept that the discomfort Elisa felt toward you will always be the same. As you thought of a topic to talk with her, there was a knock on the door.
You glanced back at elisa to signal for her to hide her phone, before calling out a âcome inâ.
When the door opened, you saw Elisa visibly grimace and you realized that it's Paul the moment he said your name, ây/n! Or should I say Nurse y/n?â
You turned awkwardly to Elisa with a confused look. Nobody knew you were there other than the office, how did he know? Your minutes of peace were frustratingly disturbed now that other students know. Elisa shrugged to show you she didn't know how he knew, but she didn't want to admit that she did text Katoto about you helping her skip.
âHey Paul, do you need a bandage?â You fake smiled at him. After the whole prom planning that happened, you really didn't want to be around him.
âWhat? No, I'm just here so you can write me a note to skip class.â He laughed as he sat at the seat near you, grabbing a note from the desk and giving it to you so you could write him one.
âI'm not allowed to do that Paul, you know that.â You looked at him disappointedly and returned the pack of excused notes back to where they were. Paul groaned in frustration. He glanced at Elisa on the bed and pointed at her, âwhat about her?â
âElisa is dizzy and has to stay here for a while.â
âY/n do you seriously believe that! C'mon, I'm your prom date! She fell and bled a little, that's all. I was there. Look! She can stand and walk normally with it taped.â He cried out, pointing at Elisa's taped shin.
âCalm down weirdo,â Elisa calmly said. She didn't like the way he was yelling at you, and she was slightly worried if you couldn't think of an excuse to tell him about how she was dizzy so she tried to waste time.
In fact, Elisa didn't know why you were doing this in the first place. Taping her shin is understandable, but helping her skip class? Memories of first period hit her, and now she doesn't understand you.
Paul turned to look at Elisa after what she said, âweirdo? Did you just call me that?â
âPaul, stop acting childish!â You groaned. âElisa got dizzyâŠwhen girls are in theirâŠyou know what, they can feel dizzy. Especially when they lose even more blood.â You mumbled to him as you pointed at her shin. It may not be the smartest excuse, but Paul doesn't know a single thing about women's bodies and you know he's going to feel weird and awkward when anyone mentions âperiodsâ.
Paul looked down in embarrassment after what you said, turning to look back at you. âUmâŠsorry I forgot you guys get that, I'll just leave.â He talked under his breath, before opening the door and leaving you both alone.
Both of you and Elisa exhaled in sync, before turning to each other with a soft smile.
Elisa looked away from you to the door, âhe's a dick.â
You sighed as you relaxed into the seat, âYeah I don't know what else to do with him,â
You looked at your painted nails, avoiding Elisa's glance. You wanted to speak about this with someone, but you didn't like to put your problems into someone even if it was your best friend. âHe didn't evenâŠbother to ask me out properly like the movies.â
Elisa noticed the deep frown on your face. She never expected a day where the both of you are sitting down and talking about boys, but it felt slightly better to know that you're opening up now especially after the two months of ignoring and distancing yourself from her. Maybe you weren't as mean as she made you seem in her head, and she liked this vulnerable side of you. âWell⊠he's a guy, what did you expect from him?â
You let out a scoff, âit just feels like no guy is good enough. We always put the effort in everything, he couldn't even care about what dress I'll wear or flowers or anything.â
Elisa wanted to make a gay joke, but she still didn't trust you enough to joke that way. And considering the way you behaved around her drawing just a few hours ago, she didn't think it would be a good idea. âYou're too pretty and smart for him anyways.â
You looked up to glance at her, but she was looking at her taped up shin. Did she mean it? A deep blush ran through your face, and you let out a soft giggle at the thought of her thinking you deserve better than the most handsome guy of your class.
âYeah? Like who?â You questioned. Maybe Elisa knows someone she can set you up with for the next prom, or maybe she can help you find the love you always yearned for but the boys are too immature and inappropriateâŠOr maybe she'd say she's the one for you.
Elisa glimpsed at you and stayed quiet with no response for a few seconds. She shrugged, ânone of the guys here for sure. Maybe somewhere else.â
Elisa didn't like the attention you just gave her. You turned a compliment into a questionnaire she can't answer. But who is there to blame but herself, she's the one who said you deserve someone better. Elisa loved the small giggle that came out of you. No matter how much she hated your behavior towards her, she always liked making girls realize guys are trash.
You crossed your hands in front of you as you rested your head on them, looking up to Elisa from your seat. She was deep in thought, and you started wondering if she'd ever date a girl in your school. Would she give her flowers every week? Would she receive flowers?... She's still a girl no matter how different she dresses, and she still deserves them. Would she be a physical person like the students that do PDA? Or would she pretend she doesn't know her girlfriend to not gain attention?
Elisa noticed you staring at her weird, the same glance she'd see Katoto has when she looks at Adam. Her ears turned pink and she pulled out her phone to complain to Marie about the âVoldemort guyâ interrupting what could've been your first ever sane conversation.
You were probably thinking about Paul, right? Maybe your âdreamâ man since the both of you were talking about it.
You realized your thoughts were drifting too much, so you closed your eyes tightly and hoped sleep would come and take you somewhere away from Elisa. You shouldn't be thinking about her that way. And you also shouldn't assume her sexuality, like what that Quora response saidâŠeven after what she said about guys.
Elisa had noticed you sleeping, so she concluded that your dreamy stare at her was probably sleepiness making you tired. She sat there and scrolled on her Facebook and Instagram.
When she realized that it had been over an hour of her time in the office, she knew she couldn't use that excuse anymore and needed to focus on the other classes. She stood up and approached you, whispering your name.
When she didn't see you react, she knew she had to touch you. But she didn't know how, childishly afraid of tapping your arm. Your fringe had been covering your face, so Elisa lightly moved them away and placed them behind your ears, hoping you wouldn't feel her touch. Elisa always had short hair and she never wanted to grow it out, but she still loved the feeling of hair in her fingers. Fleur gets frustrated whenever Elisa plays with her hair, and Katoto has braids so Elisa was ânot allowedâ to touch her hair no matter what (she tried one day and Marie yelled at her).
Your eyes scrunched at the feeling of soft fingers on your forehead, and when you opened your eyes you saw Elisa's horrified eyes. You sat up looking confused, worrying about why she looked like she had seen a ghost. âumm⊠sorry for touching your hair I tried to wake you up but you didn't wake up from my voice.â Elisa rambled quickly, stepping away from you towards the door.
âWait,â you groaned out, âYou're leaving me?â
Elisa smiled at your confused face, slowly speaking so you could understand, âI spent too much time here already, I can't miss more classes.â
She almost laughed at the way your face contorted, something deep in her is warming up and now her whole body is burning. She knows she needs to leave this room before her thoughts start spiraling, so she gave you a small wave and left the office.
Maybe it was the sleepiness talking, but for once, you finally knew that Elisa is a sweet person⊠and your heart break from the morning today came back, when you realized that what happened today was only a one time thing.
___
~ yes, the next chapter will be prom

âi said your favorite word: the backrooms!â
in which case y/n (first person) gets stuck in the backrooms with mark, who happens to absolutely hate the backrooms.
g/n reader, pretty much platonic relationship. i also added a few things that werenât in the game, but just things i thought of
(this has been eating me up all week but basically mark played the complex and it was all âhaha heâs lost and he hates the backroomsâ but my brain was like âomg the stairs and the couch and the color of that wall spark something in meâ and now i want to write about mark and i exploring the backrooms)
_______________
ââŠand if the substrituent has three carbons, itâs called a propyl group!â
mark walked in front of me, his walk being turned more so into a trudge the more we roamed.
mark sighed, looking around the room we entered. it looked identical to the one before, and i could tell he was getting frustrated.
âthatâs great, y/n. really, thatâsââ
rain could suddenly be heard hitting the roof above us.
rain?
we both looked at each other wordlessly, listening to the pounding rain and booming thunder. how is there a storm here? thereâs a roof? does that mean thereâs a way out?
ââs kinda nice.â he mumbled. ââŠyou know?â
i nodded. âno iâŠâ i paused, looking at him. ââŠi was gonna say the same thing.
out of all the people to be stuck here with, i couldnât have chosen a better person.
_______________
âi gotta say,â mark spoke suddenly, grunting slightly as he struggled with the door in front of him. âi donât like the way we spawned here without shoes.â
i glanced down at my socked feet. âi do. itâs comfy⊠with the carpet and allâŠâ
he finally got the door open, sighing heavily. âthe doorknobs turn down.â
i nod and say a silent âahh..â, following him up a short flight of stairs. we enter a small hallway with a little room made into the wall, decorated with a couch and a table. the table held a vase with a fake white rose.
i see the rose in the vase and laugh. âkinda reminds me ofââ
ââIb.â mark chuckles. my face reddens, hopefully not too noticeably.
he passed the couch and the vase, continuing to walk. i stop.
upon noticing this, he turns and looks at me. âyou want to stop here?â
âwhy not?â i shrug. âitâs comfy.â i crane my head toward the ceiling. âand itâs still raining.â
âi have a feeling itâs gonna rain for the entire duration of our time here.â he says, sitting on the couch next to me with a sigh.
we sat in silence, listening to the rain above us for a while, before i found the courage to speak.
âso⊠what were you doingâŠâ i began. he turned to look at me. ââŠwhen you, uhm, âno clippedâ here.â
âah.â he nodded, looking at the wall in front of us. âi had⊠just put Chica out.â he paused. âbefore i put her out, i yelled at her for chewing up something she wasnât supposed to.â
another pause, then he chuckled lightly.
âyou can imagine how bad i felt when i got here.â
i nodded, not knowing whether or not to feel bad or not. my story wasnât as sad.
âiâm⊠iâm sure Amy is taking care of her.â i said with a small smile.
he shrugged, frowning. ââŠChica wasnât the only one i left on bad terms with.â
i nodded slowly as my lips formed an âohâ, not knowing what to say.
another silence.
âiâm sorry, mark.â
âwhat about you?â
i looked at him. âw-what?â
he chuckled. âthe same question you asked me. what were you doing before you got here?â
i laughed. âoh! itâs kind of a funny story. i worked for my schools nursing building, in the simulation department.â
âsimulation⊠likeââ
âmedical mannequins.â
he cringed. âugh.â
i laughed. âoh, man. i forgot you hate mannequins! if regular mall mannequins creep you out, you should have seen this things⊠they talk, scream, moan, blinkââ
âstop.â he chuckled, putting his hand up. i laughed even harder.
âanyways, that was simulation lab, where i primarily worked. we started a new thing with VR headsets where the students would do virtual clinical sessions. one day, nobody was in there, so i put one of the headsets on, and now iâm here.â
âoh, God. itâs⊠itâs like that Digital Circus thing.â
âexactly!â i said. âthatâs what i thought⊠when i had⊠finally stopped panicking and crying.â
____
after a while of conversation, mark eventually fell asleep. i couldnât blame him; i was pretty sure heâd been here long before i arrived.
i had a dream that i couldnât remember when i woke up. upon waking, i found mark, still asleep, in the same position i had fell asleep toâ head laid back, arm slung around the back of the couch, and his legs entangled in mine.
⊠he was much handsomer when he wasnât just a box in the corner of a screen.
i looked at his arm, which had a rubber bracelet on it with a picture and text i couldnât see nor read.
i decided to let him sleep a while longer.
_______________
(how tf do i watch mark at least once a week but i find it so hard to write his character)

05 from the start âžâž antiseptic memories
tw. . . minor mentions of blood (sorry guys :')
you fell silent. im going to jump off these fucking stairs i swear.
fortunately, you quickly arrive at the school's infirmary, the tissue in hand (which gepard lent you along the way) already soaked in scarlet.
"this kinda reminds me of high school right, name? you used to go to the nurse's office all the time."
the infirmary is somewhat similar to the one you used to frequently visit when you were younger: creamy white walls, neatly lined tables with scattered computers, medical records decorating shelves, two single beds (one which you gladly hop on) with a blue curtain as a divider and the familiar stench of a shit ton of antiseptic. however, it did lack the cranky school nurse who used to constantly berate you for your 'reckless' behaviour.
"hey! it's not my fault serval nearly killed me with a hacksaw!" you argued. i think i get my 'reckless' behaviour from her.
"didn't you want to see if she could hit a target with it like an axe thrower?"
"don't tell me you weren't curious too!"
you hear a goofy snort from near the counter. "maybe..." you use a hand to cover your idiotic grin.
with a wet cloth in hand, he handles yours, wiping away at the remaining dried blood and dirt. he was so gentle too, your skin flushing at the tender attention and focused gaze, as if he was tending to something precious like a jeweller to a gem â or a florist to flowers. of course, you were anything but delicate with that roguish attitude of yours.
regardless, you couldn't take your eyes off of him.
"hold this cloth for me will you? make sure to maintain pressure on the wounds to prevent anymore bleeding." gepard instructs, heading over to the medical cabinet to search for a bandage roll.
"alright, alright. but you know, i could've done this myself..."
"but i want to," he interrupts, "it's only natural that i do."
naturally, for the ever-so righteous and caring student council member gepard landau, right? if it was pela, she'd throw a bandage at you and call you stupid for getting hurt in the first place.
"ah there it is." he grabs a roll from the top shelf, taking your hand to wrap the bandage slowly around your palm, making sure to avoid wrapping it too tightly to your liking â just like he's used to. his actions are warm but his colder, almost frustrated expression from earlier returned to him. your heart stirs a little.
"i wished you cherished yourself a little more, though..." he quietly mumbles. but you definitely heard him.
"..."
please don't make me more delusional than i already am, gepard.
"anyway...im sorry i wasted your time. we even left our drinks at the library" you whispered, opting to stare at the floor instead of him.
"it's not your fault, name." he reassured, "your health comes first. we can just meet up another time."
"how about tomorrow after your meeting? i'll pay for the coffee this time." you tempt instead of letting out an 'agonising' scream at his remark. at this, his ocean eyes soften, a grin spreading back onto his face.
"sure. for you, i'll be there any time."
MASTERLIST âžâž previous! âžâž next!
đ€ sypnosis. despite claiming to be 'rizz master 3000' name has failed to ask out their crush and childhood best friend, gepard, for a few years (L). with this new wave of courage, will this lovestruck idiot be able to confess before gepard buys a house and adopts 3 cats and a bunny with someone else? (this is a joke. geppie will not be adopting 3 cats and a bunny).
notes. . . as of the time in writing this note, i had completed my first escape room (yipeee)! i'm not that smart tho so we took a long time but i still had fun :) 8/10

The Halloween Update! (since we Mateo Vincent??? MATEO forgot to update the blog.) Part 5
Mateo is the one who is responsible for updating the website but as the last photo is his, allow me to do the honors of updating you with the finale of this... Je ne sais pas, this series? Oui, it seems to be the proper term. Mateo went in as this... hm, how curious. This is... a costume? Really? I thought he was wearing his usual outfit! Madame Ling went in as a nurseâwhich I was later told that she actually went as Nurse Joy from PokĂ©mon (that surprised me), Kirra went in as Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn (Sasha a fait un travail incroyable!) And you're telling me that... Mateo wore a costume? This is a costume? Who is he even supposed to be? Himself? The colors don't fit him, he looks so... plain. Mon dieu, what a disaster. I thought he was an architecture student? Why is heâ
Quoi merdeâMateo?!
CabrĂłn, chingas tu madre. You think you can just push me off the computer like that, homie?
The hit was unnecessary, connard!
And so is pushing me off the computer, so now I'm just giving you a taste of your medicine! Take that, tonto!
Why, youâ?!?
Yes, me! Go back and work in admin instead of taking care of children since you're so bad at it!
If there's anyone who's deathly bad at something, it's you and your idiotic fashion sense! Why not ask the new babysitter for fashion tips since you obviously need some, asshole!
What?! I don't need fashion advice from him, I'm the reason he dresses that way! I told him how to dress!
Have you told him that you're just as violent as your aunt too?!
(They continued bickering until Sasha put a stop to them bothâor, more correctly, Vincent was taken away against his will as Sasha carried him on his shoulder, effectively leaving Mateo to finally do this job.)
Um... Sorry about that. You didn't have to see that, haha.
Anyway! If you ask me, I definitely had a blast at our party! It was just unfortunate that we weren't able to post videos and other photos besides the ones we have with our Little Wonders since we needed consent from the parents and the, well, sitter after party is, um... not really available to be disclosed to the public (let's just say that depressed adults are involved). But enough about that, let's talk about my lil' homies!
First things first, I love PokĂ©mon. I still have my original Gameboy cartridges for Pokemon Blue and Red, I collect the cards, I've played all of them and I have very strong team compositions in all of my games! I thought that maybe the kids would like PokĂ©mon and so I dressed up as one of my childhood heroesâAsh Ketchum! No kidding, I cried so hard when I watched him finally become the world champion from the episode from last year. There's news about the series finally ending, too! So it felt appropriate to give a tribute to my own personal hero.
I was planning to bring my very own 'pokémon' to the party (it was just a bunch of my exotic pets, nothing much) because the kids wanted to see them but I realized that, well, the kids are very rowdy and it would be hard to bring them. So instead I made little pokéballs for everyone!
As for my favorite buddies, I like to think that I'm putting them here because they're fun and chill to hang with! They're absolutely cute, passionate, and adorable, no one can resist these little troublemakers even if they make a mistake.
I absolutely adore Tala's sass and liveliness. She would talk to me about the Filipino telenovelas her moms would watch with her and I love her enthusiasm about learning about her culture this way. She's quite the conversationalist, too, as she never runs out of stories!
Jamie was livid when I gave him the pokéball I made and I know mi hombrecito would appreciate what I gave him. He reminded me of me due to his obsession with the action figure and cartoon character KAY/O. He's quite the lively and imaginative kid and I couldn't be more honored to have a little space in the little guy's head everyday and every night when he falls asleep.
And of course, who's going to forget lil' Sunwoo Byrne? Kid's got a huge appetite, she absolutely loves the sandwiches I made her before! I do think it's cute that both her and Jamie are fans of PokĂ©mon given that they bond over watching cartoons and the like! Makes me feel secure knowing that there are still kids who loved cartoons as much as I didâdo, since I still watch them now. They're just fun to be around with, you get me?
And unfortunately I was the last one in this batch. Maybe in the future we'll get to have another one to be included in posts like this? I don't know, but this was certainly fun to write!

â©Â°ïœĄâ A POE CUP TO REMEMBER
xavier thorpe x fem!reader
words: 3k
genre: smut, slowburn romance (kinda), flirting, teasing, fingering
a/n: im not great at creating a fanfic, so expect grammatical errors and typoâs ahead !! i hope you enjoy this âĄ
you were the new student at nevermore. you were assigned to be roommate with the girl named enid. she was practically a werefolf and a all-rounder gossip girl at the school. she tour you to the hallway where all the students gather there, there was a werewolves, sirens, and many more. âoh, and that girl bianca, he dated our tortured artist, xavier thorpeâ she said, pointing the guy who was painting at the wall. he looked at you and not a minute he continues to focus at his drawing.
after the tour, you relaxed a while at your dorm. it was raining outside, âenid, iâm just gonna go downstairs, just catching some raindropsâ you said. enid just nodded and continue to dance all by herself. while walking outside, you saw the statue falling above you, but someone pushes you away from it. causing yourself to be unconscious.
after the incident where the statue almost hit you on the head, luckily a student saved your life.
you wake up at the room, seeing a guy beside you, he was already standing, perhaps waiting for you to open your eyes. you immediately get up causing him to sit quickly. ânurse said you dont have a concussion, anyway, im glad youâre awakeâ he muttered. âits because im not, and will never be. and the last thing i remember is i was walking alone 'til i saw a statue falling to me.â you said while looking at him. âand, how did you even get there that fast? i believe there was no one when i walked there, i was aloneâ you added, it was a mixture of confusion and embarrassment. he clicks his tongue before replying to your statement, âcall it instinctâ he said. âinstinct, huh? well, dont expect me to gave you a gratitude or something. its quite unreal to myself giving someone like thatâ you said while fixing your posture to face him. âmm-hmm. you know, most people just say thank youâ he said, looking at you. âi didn't even requested to be rescued that timeâ â âand you thought i should have just let that thing smash you to mush?â he replied. âi mean, i could have just save myselfâ you said while crossing your arms. âtoo much independent would cause you troubleâ he scoffs, you couldn't help but to laugh at what he just said. âid rather have a lots of independent, if i will be honest.â you said, âi know you aren't asking my name, but, im xavier thorpe. youâre the new student here, right? the last time we met, i was about two feet shorter, and 40 pounds heavierâ he said, âah, yes. i do remember you, the guy who was painting earlier on the walls. im y/n â you muttered. ây/n, sounds goodâ he said. âi believe i can go now, yes? well, see you around, xavier.â you said, getting up to exit the room. âyeah, see you tooâ he said looking at you.
a few werewolves were howling at the night. you and enid went to the window to check out. âif you really are a werewolf, why aren't you howling like them?â you asked, its quite different to encounter a werewolf not howling when its full moon. âi cant. my mom says some wolves are late bloomers, but i have been to the best lycanologistâ she muttered, she only had a claw, which is awesome because of how she painted it with vivid colors. âi had to fly to milwaukee, would you believe it?â she said, toning disgusted at herself. âwhat happened next?â you asked, you were interested at it because of how different she was than other wolves here in nevermore. âi would be a lone wolfâ she muttered, looking down. âthats quite sorrowful to know about you, what would happen if ever you didnât wolf out yet?â you said, while you continue to asked her about her condition. âi uh... iâd be kicked out of my family pack with no prospect of finding a mateâ she said, the tone was a bit aching to feel. its like a mixture of disappointed and rage of anger. âyouâll wolf out, someday. i can feel itâ you said, cheering her up. âthanks, y/n. i do hope soâ
the school announce that nevermore will be attending to a harvest festival this night. âhey, are you excited for this event?â enid asked, smiling at you. âyeah, well i guess. iâll just play some games there basicallyâ you said, smiling a little. âthats great, well, this event me and ajax will meet there too. im so excited!â she said. after arriving at the event, enid and you decided to split up there since she said she was gonna meet ajax, her crush basically. you walked around and play darts, it was a basic one, obviously. while playing, xavier went to you, âjeez, didnt know you get any better at this, i bet you can catch the big one toy hereâ he said already looking to you. âim good at any games, i have played this since i was sevenâ you muttered, the balloons went popping and popping 'til you win. âquite a good shotâ he compliment, âwhy dont you go search for your hobbies rather than talking to meâ you muttered, looking at him to see that he was smiling. âall right, well then, iâll play these darts tooâ he said while keeping his smile there. he was quite great at shooting the darts in the balloon too, there was an emotion that pops up to you out of nowhere. it was a feeling that you had a long time ago, but you couldn't understand what that is, so you shrugged it away. âhey, is your mind full of thoughts?â xavier said, tapping your shoulders. you look at him with a wide eyes, you were spaced out because of the thoughts. you look at him holding a cute bear beside him, seemâs that he win the game too.
âeveryone, the principal said we should go watch the fireworks!â a student shouted at the crowds. âwe should get going now, y/nâ xavier said, pulling you out of the crowds to watch the fireworks. you didn't respond but just nodded at him. the fireworks were amazing, different colors, both of you were smiling each other. âseems that you had a great smile hiding thereâ he said, smiling at you. you couldn't help but giggled at what he said. it feel like a spark was creating that day, you thought to yourself. âhey y/n? i have something to askâ he muttered, turning around to face you. âspit it outâ you said, looking at him. âare you going to the poe cup competition?â he asked, smiling. it looks like he was expecting you to see there. âoh, well, i think i would join too. and iâll go at enidâs team, if ever she would join tooâ you said.
and so, the poe cup competition begins. you saw enid and the other students designing the boat. it was black and the design was like a cat figure. you went to look it more closer, enid notice you and wave. âso, youâre going to the poe cup competition?â she asked, smiling as always. âyeah, and i decided that i wanted to be part of your team, if thats what it callsâ you muttered. âgreat! because our team will be having a cute black cat outfit this upcoming event! im sure youâll love itâ she said. âhm, maybe i will. i would check it out if thereâs a costume published nowâ you replied. while enid was helping the others with the boat, you walked away silently and moved somewhere. while looking at the areas, you saw xavier at the archery. he was quite bad at it. you moved closer to have conversations with him, even in a small amount of time. âbad shot, i think you need a mentor for thatâ you said, crossing your arms. he looked at you with disbelief, âdidnt see you coming, are you interested in archery or youâre here to entertain me instead?â he said, smirking while he tried for the second time. âactually, i was just lurking around here, until i saw youâ you replied. you started to pick up the bow and a arrow to tried it out. âhave you ever tried to handle a bow and shoot an arrow?â he asked. âweâll see what i can doâ you said, you prepared your bow and arrow to shoot it in the red spot. the luck was on your side, the sharp of the arrow went thru to the red spot. while xavier, he was quite impressed at what you did. âimpressive, i already think to your statement earlier that you should be my mentor insteadâ he said, smirking at you. âdont gave me that look, itâs intriguingâ you said. âwell, see you in the competition, i bet youâll look niceâ you said and swiftly walked away. âis that a flirt or a compliment?â he shoutedly asked to you.
it is now class time and you walked over to the following schedule. you saw bianca and the other sirens looking at you. âthereâs an open spot next to meâ xavier spoked, you walked beside him and sit. looks like he was sketching something, more like a spider. he moves his hand only to make the sketch of his to move in reality. you can say that it was quite impressive that a sketchy spider can be alive in just by his hands. âadmit it, youâre a little impressedâ he muttered, looking at you with a smile. âhate to admit that youâre right, i was impressed in that magical hands of yoursâ â âwanna know what this magical hands can do?â xavier said, you looked at him with a disgust, but your insides says otherwise.
it is now the competition for the poe cup, enidâs team was labeled as black cats, its quite attractive. âhey, y/n! your costume is at the tent! you can wear it nowâ she said, smiling at you. âoh, thats great news. iâll go wear it now.â you muttered, the outfit was fitted, and the ears fitted well to you. âOMG, you look purr-fect!â enid said, she walked back to help the others with the whiskers. while xavier walked towards you, âdidnt know youâll look good in black, y/nâ he said, looking up and down at you. âyou look like a serial killer clown at that costume of yours, thats more than a word attractive to meâ you replied, smirking at him. âi considered that as a flirt, iâll get back thatâ he said while smiling, he went on to his team and sat on the boat. it was now all settled, everyone was on the boat now. while you were focusing, you notice xavier was looking at you, you went to look at him but he looked to another direction. âi want to wrlcome you all to the edgar allan poe cup!â â âthis is one of nevermoreâs proudest annual traditions, dating back 125 years. each team must row across to raven island, pull a flag from crackstoneâs crypt, and hustle back without sinking or being sunk. first team to cross the finish line with their flag wins the cup and bragging rights for a year, as well ss some special privileges. â
âlet the poe cup begin!â a sound of shotgun bang to the air and all teams swiftly sweep in the lake. one of the teams were suddenly drag on the side of the lake, causing them to bump into the giant figure and sunk. you immediately figured out that someone was trying to ruin the teams, so you immediately made up a plan. you remembered before the competition that you requested enid to put some traps or any thing that can capture in the lake. and this was the great time, you click the button and immediately figured it out that there was a mermaid nearby your boat that was about to sabotage. luckily it was now wrapped by a fishnet and no longer can bother your team. as your boat hit the next task, âstay here and make sure the other teams can't sabotage our boat. im gonna get the flag and perhaps, distract some jokersâ you said to enid, you quickly run to the woods to find the crackstoneâs crypt, you saw xavier there so you quickly hide from a tree to sabotage him. when you saw xavier is now nearby to you, you rush to pull him somewhere. âhey! we still have a competition, what were you thinking?â he asked, you quickly covered his mouth as you both made your way to the crackstoneâs crypt where your flag was. âshush your mouth or my mouth will do it for youâ you said while you picked up your teamâs flag. âas if your mouth can make me shut up, prove it thenâ he said pulling you closer to him, you were furious because of what he said, the tone was underestimating you. you pull him closer to gave him a peck of kiss, and run away from him. he was about to gave it all but all he gotten was frustration from you for teasing, as you now go back to your teams, xavier also came back as well. while your team is at the lake coming back for the finish line, the mermaid was back again at the lake, trying to destroy your teamâs boat, but you didnât want to disappoint your friend neither anyone. so, you decide to swim over down to pull the mermaid back on what he needs to be. you pull his tail down to the lake and luckily, he swim away. you went back to the boat because of the water suffocating your lungs. your team fastly sweep the lake back to the nevermore, you and the team also sabotage the bees boat to slow them down. luckily, your team won after the competition. a lots of students was shocked after the competition, because all they knew is that bianca, herself, will always win. not until you were now part of the nevermore.
not until xavier pulled you to his dorm. you knew youâre fucked up.
âoh, so youâre into teasing, isnât? teasing me in the middle of competition, you planned this, didnât you y/n?â he asked, he was now pinning you against the wall, letting out his anger and frustrations at you. âwould you be done if i said yes? or what? youâre gonna do something to me, you little fratboyâ you muttered, you moved away yet his hands grab you and push you to bed. âoh yeah? actually, i have something to confess before i start something funâ he said while looking up and down to you with a smirk. âspit it out xavier, i dont wanna waitâ you stated, âyou know, ever since the harvest festival, i already have feelings for you. and i cant get you off my mind, and in the meantime, iâve always wanted to have intimate with you, hopelessly devoted to get youâ he said, you were shocked after what he just said. you didnât know what to feel, the heat was getting higher and higher, it was so intense. all this time trying to shrug your feelings towards him, he finally cleared it out. you couldnât express it properly so you pulled him to a kiss, he kissed back to you that is no eager, so needy. it looks like he have been waiting patiently for this to happened. his tongue swiftly made his way to your mouth, causing you to moan in the kiss, his hands went thru your boobs to massage it softly, your back arch because of it. both of you cut the kiss to breath first. âyour outfit looks good, but youâll look good without them, loveâ he said, pulling off your costume. âi didnt know jokers were into rough sex, quite fascinating to discoverâ you muttered, taking off his hat and running your fingers to her hair. âoh dont worry, my magical hands can do so much in you, also my mouth. just watchâ he muttered, after he successfully took off your costume, you also pulled his clothes off and throw it somewhere in the room.
âlay downâ he demanded, you did what he told to avoid more argues. âwell look at that, such a beautiful sight for my eyes. its more than what i sketch about thisâ he muttered, he leans closer to your core and gives it a lick. you muffled at his action, âdont f-fucking tease xavier, pleaseâ you begged, he looked at you with a smirk in his face. âthatâs a revenge for making me hard on the competition, beg more, love, maybe i can give what we both neededâ he suggested, rubbing circles in your pussy. âp-please, xavier... i-i didnât really meant to tease you that time, i j-just really want to feel your lips. please, xavierâ you explained, arching your back to give signals to him to continue. âiâll believe for nowâ he said, as he positioned himself at your core to have a taste. he leans closer and licks it. you moaned his name causing him to continue to eat you out. he puts kisses and licks at your pussy, even biting it, causing you to moaned loudly and continuously arch your back several times. but xavier wasnât satisfied with, he push a finger inside of you while he continues to eat you out. you pulled his hair while continuously moaning his name. âfuck, your mouth is really good, p-please continue, im closeâ you said while rolling your eyes because of the pleasure. xavier nodded and pushes one more finger inside you and started to push in and out with a more pace of speed. while his mouth is busy tasting you more and more. âa-ah! im coming!â you shouted, âcome on me loveâ in the exact time he said that, you come in his mouth. he took off his fingers and licks it, tasting you. âyou taste delicious than my daily mealâ he muttered, leaning you for a kiss, the kiss was passionate. you kissed back and wrapped your arms around his neck. âiâll help you clean up, and overall, what happened between us is amazing. and i want to ask you out for a date after?â he said, âof course, and, weâre gonna be lovers after allâ you replied.

Baji Keisuke
Title: Trouble
Title: Trouble
Baji had no intentions of dating, wanting to focus only on his school work so he wouldnât make his mom cry again. But when he saw you walk into class, everything he was studying went out the window. He felt his cheeks heat up as he adjusted his glasses. His eyes followed you until you reached your seat which was right next to him. He glanced down at his notebook, as he felt a feeling he never felt before.Â
Chifuyu walked into the class and sat in the seat directly in front of Baji, before correcting his work yet again.
âThatâs isnât rightâŠâ
âOh, thanks ChifuyuâŠâ He said and Chifuyu nodded before glancing at you who was reading your book.
âNo problem⊠hey (Y/N)âŠâ You looked up from your book and flashed him a smile.Â
âHey, how was summer?â
âGood, you just getting back? School has been in for a week now.âÂ
âYeah, the flight got super delayed. There were some issues they were having.âÂ
âAh, well glad you made it in safely.â
âThanks, I hope your summer was good too, and you stayed out of trouble.âÂ
Chifuyu looked away scratching his neck and you rolled your eyes with a smile.Â
âYou know her?â Baji whispered to Chifuyu who only nodded his head.
âWe gotta go, see ya around (Y/N),â Chifuyu said and you smiled.Â
âOkay, donât get into fights⊠geez. I canât keep repairing you.âÂ
âAlright, alright.â He huffed slightly as Baji dragged him out of the homeroom.Â
âWhat is wrong with you?â Chifuyu asked and Baji stared at him.
âHow do you know her?âÂ
âUhm, every single person in our grade knows her except you. She is not only the president of our grade, but every guy has a huge crush on her. She use to beat the crap out of me after treating any wounds I got due to fighting.âÂ
âIntroduce me to her.âÂ
âYou are literally in her class, introduce yourself.â
âPlease, she is so pretty. I donât think I can~âÂ
âSeriously? You canât be serious right now,â Chifuyu groaned and Baji glanced at him.Â
~time skip~
You were putting your books away when another student came up to you.Â
âThank god, I found Chifuyu and that one kid who got held back. They are bleeding, and need to be treated. The nurse isnât in her office right now.âÂ
âOh my god, I told Chifuyu~ fine I am going⊠thanks for telling me.â They nodded and you made your way to the nurseâs office and walked in. Chifuyu avoided your gaze and met the eyes of a guy with long black hair. You both stared at each other since you didnât recognize him.
âYou may not recognize me, but I am the one you sit next to in classâŠâ he gave you a boyish grin and you sighed.
âGreat, now I have to babysit another troublemaker. What did I say Chifuyu?âÂ
âListen, I had a valid reasonâŠâ he defended.
âRight, sure you do,â you sighed before glancing at the other guy, âwhat is your name?âÂ
âBaji~âÂ
âWell you may be older than me, but donât cause me too much trouble okay? I have Chifuyu who does that enough.â
âSorry~,â he said. You grabbed the first aid kit and began to clean Chifuyuâs face and he flinched slightly.Â
âSorry (Y/N),â Chifuyu mumbled and you sighed again.
âI guess in a way I should have expected it. So itâs fine, I am used to this.âÂ
âTo be fair, he started the fight though. I had to defend myself.â Chifuyu threw Baji under the bus, typically he wouldnât have. But you were a lot scarier than Baji.Â
âHey~ dudeâŠâ Baji groaned and Chifuyu shrugged his shoulders slightly.
âI am just saying, I am not about to get hit by her. She scares me more than you do.â
âAnyway, there you are~ all fixed up⊠your turn.â You stood in front of Baji, and he straightened up a bit and smiled as you cleaned his face. He tried to fight the blush that spread to his ears since you were so close. Chifuyu watched the interaction, and he realized that Baji really had a crush on you.Â
âLet me know if I am hurting youâŠâ you said when he flinched at the cotton being dabbed onto his wounds.
âItâs fine, donât worry about it. I dealt with worst.âÂ
âThat is not reassuring.â
âSorry.âÂ
Once you finished, Chifuyu slipped out of the nurseâs office leaving you alone with Baji. When you moved away from Baji he watched you put the first aid away.Â
âOkay you and Chi~fuyu he did not leave~â
âHe didâŠâ
âUgh, he knew I was going to scold you two⊠fine, I will scold you guys tomorrow.â You said and Baji nodded and you washed your hands.
âCan I walk you home?â Baji asked and you looked over at him and he was looking away.Â
âSure, I donât mind⊠thank youâŠâ You grabbed your bag and he shoved his hands in his pockets as he stood up. You both finally left the school grounds and he followed close to you as he looked around.Â
âI appreciate you taking care of us, it means a lot,â Baji said after a few minutes of silence.
âItâs nothing really. I use to do it for Chifuyu all the time, so donât worry about it. I will just add you to my list,â you nudged him. He laughed before meeting your eyes.
âIf you say that, I am only going to get into fights moreâŠâ
âSo thatâs why Chifuyu does it? Cause he knows I will patch him up? Now I know, fine I will no longer be patching you guys up.â
âNo, thatâs not what I meantâŠâ he said quickly and you eyed him. He held his hands up and you sighed softly.
âFine, but you guys are going to stress me out. I only met you today, thatâs mean.â
âHow about a date? To make up for it?â
âI am sorry what?â You asked and he leaned close to your face.Â
âI like you, letâs date. Then you have a reason to patch me up, and I may stay out of troubleâŠâ
âReally?âÂ
âWell, no⊠but I have a reason to not get into as many fightsâŠâÂ
âOne date, and you cannot fight at all while we are on this date. Got it?â
âYou will have my full attention, I promise.âÂ

"Where have you brought me?" you questioned, looking up at your uncle in pure detestation when he pushed you into a dark room and took off your blindfold.
"Change into that dress quickly," he replied, ignoring your question, pointing to a red dress lying on a chair. "It's time for me to make some good money." He smirked, giving you a look before leaving you alone in the dimly lit room.
You don't know why your uncle had brought you here. Your father recently went missing and now you were certain your uncle was behind it.
You rarely saw your father since you lived with your uncle and his family. Your mother passed away when you were a newborn and you have no siblings.
You glanced at the red dress your uncle told you to wear. It was quite short and had a deep V-neck. You sighed as you quickly wore the dress, looking into the dirty and damaged full-length mirror to see how it looked on you.
A woman dressed in a similar dress came inside the room. "I'm getting sold too," she said softly, making your eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"Sold? What do you mean?"
Before she could reply, two built men came into the room and grabbed you by the arms, forcefully dragging you out.
"Where are you taking me?!" you yelled, struggling to get your arms out of their strong grasp.
"Shut the fuck up if you don't want a bullet in your head," one the men said nonchalantly.
You could hear the familiar voice of your uncle and you assumed he was talking through a mic. You were thrown onto a stage, bright lights shining on you that blinded your vision.
Once your eyes adjusted to the light, you could see about a hundred people in the room, staring at you from head to toe.
"So who would like to buy this beauty?" your uncle yelled. All the men and even some of the women started yelling while raising their hands. You shivered, realizing that you were in some sort of human trafficking auction. Your eyes immediately teared up. How cruel could your uncle be? How cruel could all these people here be, selling humans like that?
You looked around, checking to see if there was any way to escape, but there were way too many guards, so you decided to go with the flow for now.
"We're starting from 50 million won," your uncle stated after the crowd calmed down.
You saw someone in the crowd raise a sign with their name and a number on it. "50 million!"
"70 million!"
"140 million!"
"250 million!"
"400 million!" a man yelled, causing everyone to keep quiet.
"400 million... going once, goingâ"
"500 million!" another man yelled. You could hear whispers all around you. You couldn't even believe how rich these people were, all their money obviously obtained through illegal means.
"500 million... Going once... going twice... sold!" your uncle said cheerfully and started clapping. "Congratulations, Mr. Byun! She's all yours!"Â
-
Two of Mr. Byun's men took you away and made you sit in a black car while their boss made his payment. They were really handsome and dressed in suits. You were actually terrified, but you tried to act normal.
You saw a man with long hair and thick bushy eyebrows approach the car. He was wearing spectacles and had a thick moustache. He got into the car, looking at you as he sat beside you. You noticed that he had a gun in his pocket, making you wonder what exactly he does for a living, albeit you had a fair idea already.
"Start driving, Mingi," he said in a mellifluous voice to the red-haired man who was sitting in the driver's seat. Mingi nodded and started driving immediately while you kept quiet and looked outside the window, pondering about how you could escape.
"Take that shit off, hyung. It looks hideous on you," the other guy with blue hair said, grabbing your attention.
Mr. Byun took off his spectacles, fake moustache and eyebrows, and the wig. You didn't even realize that he was wearing a disguise before.
Your eyes widened when you saw him. His features were sharp and absolutely perfect. He looked like he was going to shoot for some fashion magazine. He seemed to be around your age; so did the other two guys.
You didn't realize that you were gawking at him until Mingi chuckled. "Someone is shocked."Â
You blushed in embarrassment, instantly looking away. You cleared your throat. "I was just wondering why Mr. Byun was wearing a disguise."
"Oh Byun is just a fake name he used," Mingi said. "His name is actually Hongjoong."
And that's when it hit you.
"Hongjoong? As in, Kim Hongjoong of Ateez?" you blurted out, making all the three men's eyes widen.
Hongjoong quickly reached under the car seat, pulling out handcuffs before swiftly handcuffing you. He took his tie off and used it as a blindfold for you.
-
Your hands were handcuffed to the armrest of a chair. You really hoped these guys weren't Ateez. But after seeing the other five men once they removed your blindfold, you knew it was really them: the eight most feared men in the crime world in the country.
You were so fucked; especially since you were in an interrogation room with an unconscious bleeding man in the corner.
"How do you know me? How do know Ateez?" Hongjoong asked coldly, a small hint of panic in his eyes. You regretted opening your mouth before.
You averted your gaze from the bleeding man. "I... overheard my uncle talk about you," you answered honestly.
"Hongjoong, let San take care of this," one of the taller guys with black curly hair said.
"No, Seonghwa, I've got this," Hongjoong said, his eyes not leaving you.
Seonghwa only rolled his eyes. "San."
Another guy with pink hair nodded before approaching you. Hongjoong sighed in frustration before moving to the side, letting San replace him. You could easily tell that Hongjoong had a short temper.
"I'm going to ask you a few questions so please cooperate," San said with a sweet smile, letting his dimples show. You would've melted for that smile if you didn't know that he was extremely dangerous. "So tell me, what is your name?"
"Kiah... Moon Kiah," you replied.Â
"How old are you?"
"I'm 21."
"Who is your uncle who told you about us?"
You took a deep breath, already exhausting from the questioning. "Moon Younghyun." All the eight men look surprised.
"Your uncle sold you, his own niece, at a human auction?" Seonghwa asked with a frown and you nodded in response.
"That bastard," Mingi growled, surprising you. Why was he pissed about that?Â
"What did your uncle tell you about us, Kiah?" San questioned.
You bit your lip nervously. "I can't tell you."
"Why not?" San asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Cause you'll shoot me or rape me to death due to how offensive it is," you mumbled. "And honestly, I'd rather not die that way." The boys were shocked at your sudden boldness, not expecting you to say that at all. Half of them looked offended.
"Excuse me, woman, we're not rapists," the guy with purple hair said, clearly offended.
You raised an eyebrow. "That's not what I heard." You were wondering where your sudden confidence came from when these men could literally kill you in a fraction of a second.
"Well, then what did you hear?" San asked. "Tell us and we'll honestly tell you what's true and what's not." You contemplated that; you had nothing to lose anyway if they choose to kill you.
"I heard that Ateez is a mafia gang engaged in mostly human trafficking, drug deals, raping and murdering innocent people."
The guy with light brown hair, who looked like a Greek God, cleared his throat. "Out of everything you said, only the drug deals were true."
You snorted. "And why would I believe you?"
"Well, why would you believe your uncle who just sold you?" he retorted.
"But you guys fucking bought me at a human auction!"
"Would you rather be bought by someone else who would actually treat you like a fucking sex slave?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. You kept quiet at that. "Believe me, Kiah, that's what the people there were for. They were all looking for sex slaves."
"Yeosang's right," San stated. "You should be grateful that we saved your life."
"What were you guys doing there then?" you questioned. "If you claim that you don't do all that, then why were you there in the first place?"
"Your uncle is our enemy. We had to see what he was up to," Yunho answered.
"Then why did you buy me?"
"You ask way too many questions," Hongjoong snapped in an annoyed tone, trying not to lose his temper completely.
"Joong, chill," Seonghwa said, making Hongjoong roll his eyes.
Mingi moved to stand in front of you. "I was the one who begged Hongjoong to adopt you," he said with a smile.
"Terrible decision," Hongjoong muttered under his breath.
You snorted. "Adopt?"
Mingi shrugged. "I don't like the word 'bought' so we're just going to say that."
You smiled a little at his words. "All right, Mingi, care to explain why you... adopted me?"
Mingi grinned. "Well, I've seen you a couple of times near your universityâs hospital," he stated, making the guys look at him in surprise; they didn't know Mingi knew your face before. "And besides, you're beautiful. It would be such a waste if you were sold as a sex slave when you're so talented." Hongjoong gives Mingi a look that didn't go unnoticed by you.
You chuckled. "What makes you think I'm talented?"
"I've done my research," he said. "You're the only nursing student intern who is allowed to watch surgeries and help in minor ones."
"No wonder you wanted to adopt her," Yunho remarked.
You heard a groan behind you, coming from the bleeding man who just gained consciousness. You felt really bad for him.
"Don't worry about him," Yeosang said, noticing the concern in your eyes. "He deserved it."
"Why?" you murmured. "What did he do?"
"You wouldn't want to know," Seonghwa laughed before turning to one of the guys. "Remove the handcuffs, Jongho."
Jongho nodded and unlocked the handcuffs around your wrists with a key. You stretched your arms out in front of you, feeling a little free now.
"All right, I can go home..." you trailed off, realizing that you didn't have a home anymore. Your uncle would definitely sell you again if you went back there. Looks like you would have to crash at a friend's place.
"I'm afraid we can't let you go," Hongjoong stated.
Your eyes widened. "You're keeping me hostage?!"
"You know too much about us," San said with a small smile. "We're sorry."
You scoffed, getting up from the chair. "I refuse to be a fucking prisoner here in your dungeon!"
"Holy fuck, you're so tiny!" Yunho said in awe, stepping forward to tower over you. "I think I'm a foot taller than you! How cute!" he squealed. Was this guy really in the Mafia?
Before you could respond, Yunho lifted you up like a baby. "I'm gonna show you the house."
He carried you out of the interrogation room and up a flight of stairs until you reached a living room that could easily fit more than three hundred people. Your eyes widened at the sight of it; surely this was a joke, right?
You were in a luxurious mansion.
You glanced around in awe, noticing how one side of the living room had floor to ceiling windows, complemented with maroon and gold curtains. There was a large open-kitchen right next to the living room, and a wooden staircase on the other side where pictures adorned the wall. You wondered how many rooms were in this mansion and what the exterior looked like.
Yunho set you down on your feet. "You're free to move around the house, Kiah. We aren't going to lock you up," he said, chuckling at your stunned reaction.
"How many rooms does this place have?" you questioned while walking around the living room.
Wooyoung plopped himself on one of the sofas. "There's nine bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and six other rooms for different purposes."
"The guest room is still under renovation, so you will be sleeping in Hongjoong's room for the time being," Mingi informed.Â
"What?!" You and Hongjoong yelled in unison.
"Not the bad temper guy of all people!" you whined, making all the guys except Hongjoong laugh. "Can't I sleep in your room instead?"
"You could," Mingi laughed. "But then my girlfriend would have my head."
"There's a woman in this house? Thank fucking goodness!" you sighed in relief.
Jongho chuckled. "There's three, actually. Well, now four."
"Where are they?" you questioned.
"Seonghwa's girl is on a mission so you'll see her next week," San replied. "I don't know where Mingi's girl is, and my girl isâ"
"Hi!" you heard someone yell before running and pulling you into a tight hug. She pulled away and gave you a bright smile; you liked her already. "I'm Jiwoo!"
San chuckled at his girlfriend's actions before moving to wrap his arms around her waist. He kissed her forehead, making her smile. They were so cute! "This is my girlfriend, Jiwoo. Babe, this is Kiah."
"San and Jiwoo are the hyper couple here," Yunho stated. "They're both just so full of energy."
"We're going to be great friends, I'm sure of it!" Jiwoo said, making you smile.
Maybe living here wasn't going to be so bad after all.
-
Hongjoong's bedroom was huge. The walls were a penny brown and most of the decor was white and beige. There was a large TV right in front of the king sized bed. There was also a small flight of stairs leading down to a Jacuzzi that could fit six people in it.
You realized that you didn't have any clothes except for the red dress you were wearing right now. You didn't even have a phone anymore.
You heard footsteps behind you, making you turn to the source. A shirtless Hongjoong walked past you to the wardrobe, stripping until he was left only in his Calvin Klein hip briefs. You couldn't help but stare as he picked out some clothes to sleep in. You absentmindedly bit your lip when he wore his grey sweatpants and a black tank top. You quietly left the bathroom after washing your face, hoping he didn't notice you staring.
After several seconds, Hongjoong came into the bedroom, stretching his hands above his head. "You're gonna sleep in that?" he asked.Â
You rolled your eyes. "I don't have anything else to sleep in."
Hongjoong sighed before heading back to the wardrobe, coming back with a plain white t-shirt. He tossed it to you and you went to the bathroom to change. His t-shirt smelled so pleasant, you couldn't stop inhaling the scent.
When you went back to the bedroom, Hongjoong was in deep thought. "You know," he started, looking at you from head to toe, secretly loving the way his t-shirt looked on your small form. "I just realized that you didn't really protest to live here."
You sat on his springy bed. "Well, I don't have anywhere else to go."
He scoffed. "Or maybe you just want to live here."
"I used to live with my uncle. If I had my own place, I wouldn't even spend a second here," you deadpanned.
"So you've never worked?" he asked. "Not even a part time job?"
"Do you think medical students have time for that?" you retorted.
"Whatever," he mumbled. "Looks like you'll get along with Yeosang and Seonghwa."
"What makes you think that?"
"They're Ateez's doctors,"Â he stated. "Well, Yeosang mainly works as our hacker, but he's almost as skilled as Seonghwa.
There was some silence for a while until you spoke, "Are we even in Seoul right now?"
"We're at the outskirts," Hongjoong answered. "Gwanak-san, to be precise."
"Ah, near my university!" you said happily. "Actually, you know what?"
"What?"
"I can stay with a friend," you said. "He has an apartment right beside my university."
Hongjoong chuckled, but he clearly wasn't amused at all. "I'm afraid that's not possible, love." Your heart skipped a beat at the way he said 'love' but you ignored it.
You frowned. "Why not?"
"Well, you already know too much about us," he stated. "Besides, you've already entered the Mafia world. There's no going back."
Your blood boiled. "I don't give a fuck, Hongjoong. I didn't ask you to buy me and pull me into your stupid Mafia world!" your voice was rising.Â
Hongjoong got annoyed at the way you raised your voice at him. "For your information, you got pulled into this world the second your uncle got involved in it! You lived with someone who's in the fucking Mafia!"
"At least my life was normal!" you retorted.
"You know what? Fine!" Hongjoong raised his voice, scaring you a little. "I'll personally drop you at your fucking uncle's house tomorrow, okay?!"
"You don't get to decide that and I'm not going back to that monster!"
"Then shut the fuck up and appreciate the shelter you've been given here goddammit!" Hongjoong runs a hand through his hair in frustration. You just keep quiet, looking away while your eyes filled with tears.
"Why the fuck did I even agree to buy a brat like you?" he murmured, but you heard him.
"Fuck yourself," you whispered.
In a flash, you were on your back, Hongjoong hovering above you.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that! You make me want to punish you so fucking bad," Hongjoong growled. Your heart was racing at how close he was.
"Get the fuck off me," you said, avoiding eye contact.
He grabbed your chin, making you look at him. "You piss me off so much, Moon Kiah."
You controlled the urge to roll your eyes. "Well, then tame your damn temper, Kim Hongjoong."
"Tame your attitude first, love," he chuckled bitterly before getting off of you. He lied on his back, looking up at the ceiling of his room. He clapped twice and the lights turn off, making the room pitch-black.
You bit your lip, wondering what to do. You couldn't stay here; you didn't even want to. You weren't meant for the Mafia worldâ you decided to get into the medical field so that you could save lives, not take them away.
You wanted to run away right now, even though it was half past midnight. But you needed a plan since you don't exactly know where you are were.
"I just realized," Hongjoong starts, smirking in the dark. "You haven't protested to sleeping on the same bed as me."
You snorted. "Why would I?"
"That's what girls usually do, don't they? And the guy will offer to take the couch instead of her."
"Well, I'm not like other girls," you stated. "I'd rather sleep on a bed than a couch outside, and I'm sure you'd prefer that as well. Besides, this is a king-sized bed. There's plenty of room for both of us. In fact, there's extra space cause you're tiny."
Hongjoong snorted. "Excuse me, I'm not tiny."
"You are."
"I'm more than half a foot taller than you, Kiah."
You shrugged. "Doesn't matter, tiny boy. You're still tinier than the other seven boys."
"But I lead them," Hongjoong said proudly with a smirk that you obviously couldn't see.
"What do you mean?" you questioned without thinking.
"Think, love," he answered.
You gave it a thought before your eyes widened in realization. "You're a... Mafia King."
He chuckled. "We actually use the term 'boss' but I like that," he said, pulling the blanket over your bodies.
"So the other seven boys follow your orders," it wasn't a question. You actually thought Seonghwa was the boss.
"Yup."
"I pity them," you murmured, but he heard you.
He scoffed. "You will be following my orders too," he said. "That's if we decide to make you one of us."
"Yeah... no, that's never gonna happen," you remarked. "I want to save lives, not take them away."
"Actually, you would want to take these lives away if you knew what these people do," he said, lying on his side to face you. "Ateez doesn't kill innocent people." You felt a little relieved at that; at least you knew you wouldn't die by a gunshot or something.
"And what do those people do that makes you want to kill them?" you questioned, turning onto your side as well so that you were facing him.
He snorted. "Do you really want to know?"
"I wouldn't ask if I didn't."
"We usually kill rapists and human traffickers. These people mostly target women and children. They kidnap children, rape them, and then sell their organs within the country or internationally. The women are usually sold as sex slaves or kept in prostitution centers. Some mafia gangs own strip clubs where their strippers get assaulted or raped by customers and they do nothing about it."
"Your uncle used to run a fake orphanage," Hongjoong continues. "I came across that place when I was fifteen years old and found out that they were keeping those kids there to sell their organs. I told my parents about it and we bombed that place after rescuing those children, and put them in an actual proper orphanage. Two boys who were just a year younger than me had escaped from the orphanage. They ran after my parents just to thank them for saving their lives. My parents saw a lot of potential in the two boys and decided to take them in. That's how Yeosang and Wooyoung became a part of my family."
The story really broke your heart; you couldn't even imagine what those two had to go through when they were just in their early teens. You were curious about the other six boys' stories too. You wanted to ask Hongjoong about it, but now didn't seem like the right time.
-
You don't really know how and when you fell asleep after hearing all those disturbing things, but somehow you did.
And when you woke up, you were in Hongjoong's arms.
You tried to escape from him, but his hold around you was too strong. You gave up on trying and chose to admire his beautiful face instead.
You had to admit, Hongjoong was extremely handsome. You've never seen anyone look this good while they're asleep. He looked so soft and angelic, you found it hard to believe that he was in the mafia, let alone a mafia boss.
You heard a knock on the bedroom door before the door opened, revealing San and Jiwoo.
"Hi!" Jiwoo greeted. "Good morning!" You wondered how she had so much energy in the morning.
"I see you've slept well," San commented with a smirk while gesturing at Hongjoong's arms around you.
You blushed. "Help me." San easily lifted Hongjoong's arm off of you.
"He sleeps like he's in coma," San said, making you chuckle while you stretched your arms.
"We're going shopping today," Jiwoo said to you. "You need clothes."
"I don't have any money, Jiwoo," you said.
She snorted. "You don't have to worry about that, we're paying for you."
You opened your mouth to protest, but San interrupted you. "We don't have any plans of letting you go, Kiah. Think of it as a gift for joining us." You just nodded in response even though you wanted to disagree. You weren't going to join a mafia gang; that was the last thing you wanted to do.
You had to escape.
-
You had just come back from shopping with Jiwoo, exhausted from walking around the mall; you were pretty sure that she made you spend more than ten million won.
"So Kiah," Yeosang starts, sitting on the sofa beside Mingi and Seonghwa. "You're a medical student, right?"
"Yup, majoring in nursing," you nodded. "Hongjoong told me that you and Seonghwa are the doctors of the gang."
"What were you planning to do after graduation?" Seonghwa asked. You didn't miss how he used 'were' instead of 'are.'
You gently cleared your throat. "Well, I want to become a surgical nurse for the cardiac department."
"Ah, that's great!" he said with a smile. "I wanted to get into Neuro."
"Why didn't you?" you asked while absentmindedly playing with a strand of your hair.
"Once you join the mafia, you have to sacrifice having a normal job," Yeosang replied nonchalantly. You couldn't tell if he was sad about it.
"I wanted to ask you all something," you murmured, but the three of them heard you clearly.
"You can ask us anything you want, Kiah," Mingi encouraged. "We'll answer everything."
"Well, if you're gonna keep me here..." you hesitated for a second. "Um, does that mean that I can't work?" Yeosang and Seonghwa exchanged a glance that didn't go unnoticed by you.
"You'll have to ask Hongjoong about that, but mostly yes. You won't be able to work," Seonghwa said. "It's too dangerous. You can only work for us." You only nodded, unhappy with the words you heard. Â
"Can I at least attend my own graduation?" you were mentally begging they would agree.
"When is it?" Yeosang asked.
"It's on the day after tomorrow."
"Of course you can," Hongjoong said, entering the living room and plopping down on one of the sofas.
"Really?!" you squealed in excitement.
"I was being sarcastic," he stated, making your smile immediately falter.
"I didn't study my ass off for nothing, Hongjoong," you said, crossing your arms over your chest.
He scoffed. "Do you think I care?"
"Well, I do." You were starting to get angry. Yunho entered the living room, not saying anything due to the tense atmosphere.
"You'll put us and people you know at risk," Hongjoong shrugged.
"That's your problem," you remarked, pissing him off. "I didn't ask you to buy me, Hongjoong."
"Adopt," Mingi mumbled, but you ignored him.
You and Hongjoong were locked in a glaring contest. Yunho cleared his throat after a while, catching Hongjoong's and your attention. "Hyung, you disguised yourself. No one knows that it was you who bought her."
"Adopted," Mingi murmured, getting ignored again.
Hongjoong gave it a thought. "Fine," he agreed. "But we all will attend it too, whether you like it or not."
âDeal.â
You were seated in your respective seat, desperately waiting for the graduation ceremony to get over even though one of Seoul's top doctors was invited to talk. All eight boys and Jiwoo were attending your graduation. You wished your father was here to watch you graduate.
Once the ceremony was finally over and all the students collected their diplomas, you all gathered around to throw your dark blue caps in the air.
"I can't believe we successfully survived four entire years," Dongyoon remarked.
"Time to try to survive med school now," Yonghwa said and Chanhee nodded in agreement; they were on the road to becoming doctors. "But for now, let's get fucking wasted!"
-
You were at one of Seoul's best nightclubs in Gangnam; you didn't tell anyone in Ateez that you'd leave with your university friends. This was your way of running away. You were going to stay with Chanhee until you found a place.
Being a Tuesday night, the club wasn't crowded. Most of the people here were definitely high school or university students. After all, it was graduation week in Korea.Â
You drank and danced with your friends until you were drunk as fuck and your feet hurt. You felt so relaxed, just paying attention to the blasting music while the alcohol in your system gave you some energy.
"Oh? Who do we have here?" you heard a familiar voice say behind you while you took another shot. You had no idea where your friends were.
You turned around and squinted to look at the man. "Moon Bojoon...?"
"Hello, sister," your cousin chuckled, putting his arms around your drunk form. You hated him with every fiber of your beingâ he tried to sexually assault you a couple of times. Living under the same roof as him was hell.
"Get your hands off me," you yelled over the loud music, weakly trying to push him away; he didn't even move an inch.
His grip around you tightened. "I wonder who father sold you to. How lenient are they to let their sex slave go out to party...? Or did you run away?"
You tried to push him away again. "Fuck off!"
He grabbed you by your arm and pulled you along until he reached the parking lot of the club. He pushed you harshly against his car, making you groan in pain when your head hit the window.
Bojoon moved his face closer to yours. "I'm gonna sell you this time," he whispered in your ear. "But I'll have my fun with you first, of course."
"Get away from me!" you yelled while your vision got blurry. Before you could comprehend what was even happening, you passed out.

(Master Post)
_____________________________________________________________
Masquerade surveyed the classroom. Her former classmates now her masked servants. It was fitting how they were all silent. Before, they listened to her because she told them exactly the things they wanted to hear, now they listened because she had power over them. It was kind of poetic in a way.
She looked across the classroom, she realized that there seemed to be more people missing than she initially realized.
âWe are missing someone. Aside from Marinette, who is missing?â
The controlled classmates looked amongst themselves. Trying to figure out who was the one that was not in the class.
âIs it ChloĂ©?â Miracular inquired, trying to answer her masterâs request.
The akuma looked around.
âHuh⊠Oh yea, she isnât here. Well she isnât important. I was thinking someone else.â Masquerade answered. She looked to her most recently made akuma servant.
The Bubbler, the akumatized version of Nino stood motionless. As if he was not registering what was going on.
âBubbler? Do you know who is missing?â
The multicolored akuma said nothing. Not even looking in the direction of the mask maiden.
âBubbler! I order you to answer me!â She commanded with fiery rage.
The akuma turned to face his master, now responding.
âAdrien is missing.â The bubbler answered, his voice robotic and as emotive as a speak and spell.
âSo, Adrien isnât in the room. What a shame. I was planning on turning him into my handsome little knight.â
Masquerade thought for a moment.
Has Adrien been akumatized? Lila wasnât sure she had ever seen or heard about him getting akumatized. She knew that the class had pretty much gotten hit at least once or twice at some point from what she had heard and read from the ladyblog. But if that goody-goody Marinette hadnât been akumatized, Adrien likely hadnât been akumatized either.
âAlright my servants! We have a new mission. I want you to lock this school down! No one is allowed in or out. Anyone you find, bring them to me. If they can be akumatized, then they are joining our cause.â
âTime breaker. Guard the perimeter outside of the school. Anyone outside of Ladybug and Chat noir trying to get in. Tag them, but only if they are suspicious of whatâs going on. Stay hidden otherwise.â
âTimebreaker nodded and began skating out of the room in a rush.
âHorrificator, once Timebreaker is outside, seal all the exits in the main building.â
The masked monstress nodded and sped out of the room.
âDark Cupid, Stoneheart, Princess Fragrance, Miracular and Reflekta. I want you to split up check all of the rooms and bring me potential akumas.â
The five akuma nodded and made their way out the door.
âGamer and Robostus. I want you to hack into the airwaves. I want access to every Electric device in Paris when I give you the signal. But make sure to be subtle. I donât want anyone to know about us until I tell you.â
The two nod and start working to get that ready for her.
She focuses her attention to the bubble making akuma that was giving her problems earlier.
Considering how hard it was to break him down, it was understandable. She had saved him for last for a reason. Because he was the hardest one to crack.
He was a relatively calm individual, able to keep a level head. But even he had his weakness. His confidence. Once that was shaken, seeing his entire class taken, knowing his girlfriend was under her control, he couldn't resist another moment. In a way, it was the most satisfying charm on her bracelet.
âNow Bubbler, you are going to go and locate Marinette and Adrien for me. Put them in a bubble and bring them to me. Help that girlfriend of yours.â
The bubbler nodded yes despite severe shaking. Seems even now he is trying to resist the control of the mask.
âTroublesome, but it is only temporary. He will break soon enough.â Masquerade mused to herself.
She looked at the near empty room with contempt. This was hardly a place where she could exact her vengeance. It was so⊠lame. Though a thought occurs as she realized who she had left standing at attention without orders.
âEvillustrator, I have a special request for you.â
________________________________________________________
âWhat is this?â ChloĂ© screeched. âMy daddy bought me the best phone plan in the city. How can I not have service right now?!â
The nurse felt a chill run down her spine. Could the akuma block out phone signals? Is that why there is no attention being given to the school? How could they call for help? How would anyone know of the akuma attack? Would Ladybug and Chat noir be able to help them?
The nurse started to feel herself going pale, she was just supposed to be a school nurse. Worst thing she needed to deal with was a scraped knee or give a kid an ice pack. Now she has a woman that collapsed on the bed and an akuma that is somewhere in the school. She had just moved to Paris a few months ago. It was her dream to live in the city of love, get her career going, find a nice guy, and just live the good life. But no one told her that supervillain attacks would be so personally connected to her situation? She had heard about this crap in New York and in America. But Paris? It was too much. What if Ladybug and Chat noir didnât fix everything? What if this was where her story ended. What ifâŠ
âHey!â
The nurse turned to her attention to the voice. It was the brash blonde teen that was complaining.
âYou look like youâre going to pass out. Just a heads up, I am not taking care of you.â ChloĂ© commented.
Angela felt her face heat up with annoyance.
âListen you brat. I donât have time to deal with your attitude. I have a woman that is out cold from exhaustion in a building with a hostile akuma.â
âGood, at least you arenât going to faint. I donât need any more whinny women fainting on meâ
The nurse paused, did the girl say that just to help her not succumb to the grim situation?
Chloé started making her way to the door.
âHey, where are you going?â
âYou already got your hands full with the annoying assistant. I need to make a call to daddy. So, I am going to head out the building and try there. Try not to get ripped apart by an akuma, I still need more ice when I get back.â
Angela blinked. This girl wasnât scared of the akuma. She was actually going out to do something reasonable. If she could call for help, it would mean that this whole thing blows over.
âOkay, Iâll stay here. Be safe.â
âYea whatever.â
Chloé headed out the door.
Angela felt a ghost of a smile grace her face.
âMaybe that girl isnât a complete brat after all.â
__________________________________________________
The shapeshifting sentimonster growled as it smacked the locker. It lost both primary targets. And worst of all, Ladybug appeared to make this even harder. Masquerade needed to hear about this.
âMaster, Marinette and Adrien have escaped my sight.â
The sentimonster heard a sigh of disappointment from the other end.
âIt is fine SimularĂ©, They wont be able to escape the school anyway. They will be found soon enough. If anything, this is a blessing in disguise. Having them be the last targets will have them bare witness to how devasting it will all be.â Masquerade answered. âAny news on Ladybug and Chat noir?â
âThatâs the other bad news. Ladybug arrived, I am assuming thatâs how Marinette managed to escape, and ladybug also took Adrien away as well. No sign of chat noir. But if you know one is here, the other is likely soon to follow.â
There was a brief moment of silence, as masquerade mulled over the information she had received.
âActually, that works out well for us. Meet up at my location, I have the other students out looking for them, I need your power for something more important.â
âYes master.â
SimularĂ© shifted back into its phantom form, moving quickly down the hallway to obey her masterâs request.
Just as it left, Ladybug popped out of a nearby locker. Relieved it didnât notice.
âThatâs not good, Masquerade likely got everyone in the classroom.â The red heroine said aloud.
She activated her communicator and tried to contact chat noir. But there was no sound.
âDamn it. No signal. Lila likely cut the communication as soon as she realized it.?â
âNo worries Buggaboo, I happen to be on site.â A voice called out.
Chat noir jumped out of another locker to reveal he was there.
Ladybug felt a bit of relief at her partnerâs appearance. She could tell he felt the same. Better a situation with two heroes.
âBeen here the whole time?â The spotted heroine asked her cat crimefighting comrade.
âJust arrived a few minutes ago, I figured something was up, so I decided to take a quick peek. Cat curiosity and all that.â
âAnd you assumed it was with CollĂšge Françoise Dupont?â
âIt seemed like a solid guess.â
âConsidering the track record, that is reasonable.â Ladybug conceded.
âEver wonder why it is always this school and never any of the other schools? Paris is a big city. You would think Hawkmoth would decide to branch out to the other schools in the city.â Chat noir inquired as they started walking down the hall.
âI assumed its just a coincidence.â
âShot in the dark, maybe he has a kid that goes here. He is pretty oldâ Chat noir dissed.
âI canât imagine anyone that would want to date Hawkmoth.â Ladybug joked.
âWhat about the blue lady? She seemed crazy enough.â
âAnd now that image is burned in my mind. Thanks kitty.â Ladybug sarcastically commented. âDespite the mental scarring, I am glad you got here. Seems a repeat offender got herself an upgrade in the akuma powers department.â
âLila.â
âHow did you know?â
âI was reading the ladyblog, Alya did great work on that article.â Chat noir praised. He mentally applauded his quick thinking.
âRight, kind of the reason I felt the need to keep an eye on this place. But sadly, I was too slow.â Ladybug responded a tad gloomy.
âHey, donât sweat it. We will finish this akuma before lunch.â
Ladybug heard a footstep from the end of the hallway.
âGet down!â
Ladybug tackled the cat hero down. Just narrowly avoiding a neon pause symbol, which now suck on the wall.
âLooks like Lila has been busy.â Chat noir noted as he turned his face to the direction of the attacker.
Ladybug looked at the akuma. The white mask covering her friendâs face. Lady Wifi was back.
âAlyaâŠâ
The two heroes got into a fighting stance and prepared to take down this controlled akuma.
________________________________________________
The halls were empty and lifeless as the two visiting teens made their way cautiously down the halls.
âOddly quiet in here.â The fencer commented. âWhat do you think Luka?â
âWell last time we entered a place with an akuma in it, it was brimming with armored minions. Maybe this akuma has more stealth?â The Musician commented. âSo, I donât think you will be fighting as directly as you are use to Kagami.â
Kagami nodded at that, not exactly happy or sad regarding that remark. Her plan was to see if she could help her friends get out of the building, grab her textbook, and get out. She wasnât really that interested in fighting a superpowered foe at this moment in time.
The two ceased speaking when they heard approaching footsteps.
âSomeoneâs coming.â Luka noted.
The two duck into the nearest room.
The two stayed close to the door as they listened to the sound of the approaching figure.
Kagami dropped to the floor silently as to check and see if she could get a visual.
She could only see what appeared to be costume boots of a larger figure. Which made the expert fencer believe it was not friendly.
The figure stopped, looking at the door. The two teens felt their neck hairs stand on edge as they did their best not to make a sound.
After what felt like an eternity, the figure passed the door without checking. Once the sound of his footsteps could no longer be heard, they let out a sigh of relief.
âThat was way too close for comfort.â
âAgreed. I would prefer a direct confrontation next time, much less nerve-racking. â
The two carefully open the door and exit the room.
âSeems we found the akuma.â Luka commented. âNow we just need to avoid it and.â
âYou mean akumas.â Kagami corrected.
âAkumas?â
Kagami tilted the boys head to look in the same direction she was looking, and sure enough she saw a rather large rock like creature walking the halls.
âOh⊠well that is bad.â
Kagami pushed him back into the room and closed the door. Locking it before the rock giant could notice them.
âIâm surprised.â
âBy the fact there is an 8-foot-tall rock beast outside?â
âNo, by the fact you didnât try to fight it.â
âI donât have a weapon.â Kagami replied flatly.
Luka raised a brow at the comment, unsure if the fencer was serious or not about fighting that thing if she had a foil.
âIs something wrong?â A third voice came from behind them.
The two teens turned around, preparing for the worst. Though they were relieved to see it was just an old janitor⊠in a Hawaiian shirt. Despite his odd dress, he did give off a kind aura. One of a trusting old grandpa.
They noticed that the room seemed to be a sort of teacherâs lounge, with a small counter with a sink and cabinets. As well as a fridge to keep food cold and stored. A place in the school where teachers would come to get a quick coffee or store their lunch.
âOh good, you arenât an akuma.â Luka sighed with relief.
âAn akuma?â The old man asked.
âYes, it is very dangerous out there right now. There are multiple villains outside. I would recommend staying put while we go out there and help handle things.â Kagami explained.
âQuite bold of you to go out there against those monsters.â The man responded.
âDonât worry, we will be careful. We just need to make sure we can get as many people out as we can so Ladybug and Chat noir wonât need to worry.â
âAh, how selfless of you. You both seem quite capable for ones so young.â
âYouâre very kind, but we are just doing what we can. Our friends are out there and they need our help.â
Kagami goes to the door. Checking to ensure the coast is clear again.
The old man pats the musicianâs shoulder.
âI am sure you two will figure a way to help your friends.â
âThere are too many outside this room.â Kagami grumbled. If only I had a way to fight them.â
The mysterious janitor smiled.
âSay⊠I did happen to see Ladybug earlier.â
The two teens turned their attention to the old man.
âYou did?â they asked in unison.
âYes, she happened to drop something while rushing. Would you two be so kind as to return them to her when you see her.â
The two of them glance at each other and shrug. The old janitor might be senile.
âSure⊠We can give it to her.â Luka assured the old man, trying to remain polite.
The old man moves to a closet, where out of view of the two teens, an elaborate chest with the symbol of the guardianâs decorates the top. He quickly gets two smaller boxes and closes the closet.
âAh! Here they are.â
He hands the two a small box each. Their eyes go wide.
âThey seemed important, so I didnât want to just leave them on the floor. But I have a feeling you two will take good care of them.â
The two teens were engrossed by the boxes in their hands. They recognized them immediately. These were the boxes Ladybug used when handing out miraculous.
âWhere did you findâŠ?â Kagami tried to question, but noticed the old man was no longer there.
âHeâs goneâŠâ
âActually, I am over here.â
The teens look in the opposite direction they were looking in order to see him at the end of the room getting a snack from the fridge.
The duo decided that maybe this old guy wasnât all there after all and figured it would be best to go somewhere and utilize the âgiftâ they were just given.
âStay in the lounge where itâs safe okay?â Luka asked politely.
âOf course. I am not paid if I am not working.â
The two teens checked the door again, and once the coast was clear. They both slipped out of the room.
After he knew they were out of sight, the old man chuckled.
âThe senile routine works every time.â
âMaster, you really cut it close with that one.â A small turtle creature exclaimed as he popped out from the closet.
âThe universe works in mysterious ways Wayzz. What are the odds that there would be an attack on the school the very day I decide to hide out as a janitor?â
âConsidering the frequency of akuma attacks, very likely.â
âTrue, but how about running into two individuals that Marinette had picked to be heroes.â Fu followed up.
âThat is quite a coincidence.â
The guardian pulled out his phone and noticed he didnât have a signal.
âIt seems I canât get a signal to notify her of the reinforcements I sent her way. Likely it would be the same on her end. So, it is a good thing I acted in advance.â
Fu moved to the closet where he kept the miraculous.
âI canât help but shake the feeling Ladybug and Chat noir will need all of the help they can get.
âDonât worry master, I am sure Ladybug and Chat noir will be successful.
âLet us keep an eye on things. They might need another ally to turn the tide.
________________________________________________________
âI am guessing you are also familiar with whatâs inside here?â Kagami inquired as the two stealthily moved in the hall.
âI may be familiar with it.â Luka commented.
Kagami contemplated the statement. She figured out the truth.
âSeems we both have used a miraculous then?â
âIt appears we have. Though I am not sure Ladybug will be thrilled that someone knows I have helped her.â
âI understand the sentiment. Though lets simply agree to keep it between us.â Kagami answered. âFriends do keep secrets like that if Iâm correct.â
Luka smiled at the comment.
âYour secret is safe with me.â Luka assured.
âAs is yours.â
The two found the locker room and quickly moved inside.
âCoast is clear.â
The two opened the boxes and as they did two magical creatures appeared in front of them.
A floating creature with multiple spikes appeared in front of the fencer, while another floating creature that resembled a cobra stood in front of luka.
âIt is a pleasure to see you again Mistress Kagami.â
âItâs been too long, Longg.â Kagami smiled. Happy to see her kwami friend.
âHello Luka, itssss been a while.â The snake kwami greeted.
âHappy to see you too Sass.â Luka fist bumped his kwami.
The kwamis stop and turn to see the other kwami there.
âDoes Ladybug know about this?â They both ask in unison.
âWe will inform her after. Right now, there is a lot of danger.â Kagami exclaimed. âLadybug needs our help.â
The two kwami nod and prepare to fight.
âConsssider us accomplissses.â Sass answered.
The two teens put on the miraculous.
âSass! Scales Slither.â
âLongg! Bring the stormâ
The two teens transform into their heroic alter egos.
Kagami shifting into the dragon miraculous hero Ryuuko, and Luka changing into the Snake hero Viperion.
The two stop to glance at the other.
âSo, what should I call you.â The snake hero asked curiously.
âCall me Ryuuko. And what about you mister snake?â
âViperion is what I am going with.â
âFitting.â
âAs is yours.â
The two give a nod of comradery before making their way out of the locker room. They had to go help Ladybug.
__________________________________________________
Ladybug dashed across the hallway, avoiding pause symbols being flung at her by the conniving akuma.
She slid underneath one of the symbols and preformed a daring slide kick to knock Lady Wifi off balance.
While she was unstable, Chat noir charged and used his baton to make contact with her white mask. Believing it was the obvious weak point.
âGot it!â Chat noir exclaimed triumphantly. The strike of the staff knocking Ladywifi a good several meters. Before lying flat on her back.
âWow, that is a tough mask. I thought for sure that was the weak point.â Chat noir commented.
Lady Wifi stood up robotically.
âThere must be a way to snap her out of it. Unless Hawkmoth is learning from his mistakes.â Ladybug hypothesized as she got up from the ground.
âWell I got nothing.â Chat noir shrugged.
Another set of footsteps approaching caught the heroâs attention. The recognized the multicolored bubble maker the moment they saw him.
âNino⊠You too?â Chat noir said under his breath.
The Bubble maker used his bubble wand to summon two large bubbles to capture the heroes. Bringing back flashbacks of their first encounter with the bubble akuma.
Chat noir and Ladybug expertly slide between the gaps of the attack, resulting in Lady Wifi getting hit with the large bubbles and being sent flying into the wall via bubble prison.
Chat noir lunged at the Bubbler, his quick pounce pinning him down before he could attack.
âMaybe I can destroy his mask withâŠâ
âWait Chat noir!â Ladybug called out.
Chat noir paused.
âWhat if your cataclysm doesnât free him?â
âAnd then I am left without the power before a recharge.â
âExactly. We need to hold off on using our powers right now.â
Chat noir wanted to save his friend. But he knew his partner was right. They needed to conserve their powers before facing Lila.
The Bubbler managed to get the cat hero off of him with a burst of strength. Knocking Chat noir to the ground.
Lady Wifi had gotten free from the bubble attack and was now blocking the other entrance.
Ladybug and Chat noir moved back to back, Ladybug facing the ladyblogger turned mindless akuma slave and Chat noir facing the akumatized DJ.
âAny ideas, Buggaboo?â
âSeems they canât adapt. They are pretty much mindless slaves. Which makes sense since Lila wouldnât want them to think for themselves.â
âSo youâre saying their movements are simple.â
âWhich means they are exploitable.â
Chat noir felt relief watch over him. He knew Ladybug had a plan.
_____________________________________________________
âEWWWW!â ChloĂ© screeched in disgust. The front entrance to the school had been covered in a pink slime.
She wiped her hand on the cleanest section of wall she could find. This was not her day.
âWhat is with this nasty gross akuma? First, I canât call Daddy to come and pick me up. I canât even post about it! How will Ladybug know to save me? Or better yet, get me the bee miraculous so I can help her save the day?â
Chloé decided to try another exit, since she had no plans of sticking around without knowing if she was going to be given a miraculous or not. Plus, she did say she would call for help, and doing that would make her look good in potential hero points.
As she was walking, she bumps into something in the middle of the hall. Which was bizzare since the hall was clear.
âOuch, right on my bruise. What the hell isâŠâ
Chloé felt her anger shift to fear when she watched as the empty hall now contained a familiar akuma.
âSabrina?â
The akuma turned to her, her face covered with a white face mask.
âEww. Your akuma form looks even tacker than before.â
âTake potential akuma to master.â The akumatized Sabrina stated in an emotionless tone. Repeating the order, she had been given.
âOh no you donât! Sabrina, I order you to listen to me!â
The akuma ignored the blondeâs command and slowly walked towards her.
âSabrina⊠I am warning you. I am going to yell at you over this later if you donât stop right now.â
ChloĂ© started slowly backing away. She wasnât sure of what to do.
âListen⊠if you stop right now⊠Iâll uh⊠let you take a pick of one of my old sweaters.â ChloĂ© bargained, not intending to let her pick one of the ones she actually liked.
Chloé felt her hand touch the sealed door, and knew she was at the end of the hall. She was boxed in.
âThis is so unacceptable.â ChloĂ© stated, preparing to get captured. But a flash of Red and Black came out of nowhere and kicked the akuma hard to the wall.
âLadybug! I knew you would like save me!â ChloĂ© jumped and hugged her savior.
âIm not ladybug.â The heroine spoke.â
Chloé released the hug as she examined who her savior was.
âWho the hell are you?â
ChloĂ© had never bothered to learn the names of any of the other miraculous heroes. She sometimes forgets chat noirâs name.
âRyuuko.â The dragon heroine stated calmly, almost regretting saving ChloĂ©.
âDid Ladybug send you? Cause it would have been better if she got me to help.â
Ryuuko decided to ignore ChloĂ©âs comment.
âNow we need to leave before she⊠Where did she go?â Looking at the dented locker that no longer had an akuma lying on the ground.
Suddenly the akuma popped out of nowhere about to strike from above with her tonfa and steal Ryuukoâs powers, but was stopped when a small harp smacked her face.
âShe appears to have invisibility.â A voice called out.
The two turn to see the snake hero as he caught his harp on the rebound.
Chloé took a moment to look over the snake hero. She had to admit, he was pretty cute. Not Adrien cute, maybe she would start learning the names of the other heroes.
âQuick thinking Viperion.â Ryuuko thanked the snake teen.
âJust following your lead.â Viperion responded. The two giving eachother a respectful smile. They both seemed to have gotten used to working together.
The akuma got up. Its white face mask making the akumaâs expression unreadable. But its body language exuded rage.
âSeems we arenât going anywhere until she is taken care of.â Ryuuko said as she stared down the akuma.
Viperion turned to chloé.
âYou need to go and get to safety.â
âOkay!â ChloĂ© says as she runs off.
âHow come she didnât give you any sass?â
âBecause I already have him.â
Kagami had to admit that was a clever response.
âNot what I meant, but Chat noir would love that joke.â
âI will be sure to tell him it later.â
âStick to playing guitar. Youâre a better musician than comedian.â
Before they could get off anymore banter. The akuma went for another attack.
________________________________________________________
SimularĂ© entered Ms.Bustierâs classroom.
âI am here.â The ghostly sentimonster announced.
âExcellent.â
The sentimonster looked up to see that the classroom it was expeciting to see had been altered into what appeared to be a rather glamourous throne room. The windows covered by white curtains with the design of an akuma in black. The platforms and stairs had been altered to be marble. And at the top, where Lilaâs desk once was was now a golden throne akin to something one would see in a castle. Though despite the impressive change in the classroom it was still being designed. The akuma known as the evillustrator was still creating more furnishings for the room.
âSimulare, I have an order for you.â Masquerade stated as she sat on the new throne. Clearly confident in her position.
The sentimonster approached her master. Stopping only a few feet away.
âI want you to create a mirage over the school. Since Ladybug is already in the school. It would be best if you made sure no one notices whats happening here. I donât need any additional heroes popping in yet. Letâs handle her before making things public.â
Simularé nodded.
âUnderstood. But what should we do if sheâŠâ
âI have everything under control. Just follow my orders.â
Simularé ceased her questioning.
âAs you wish master.â
The sentimonster shifted into her Volpina form and headed out of the classroom.
âShe is getting arrogant in her power. If things do go south, I will need to step in.â SimularĂ© said to herself. But for now, she knew she had a role to play.
_____________________________________________________________
And that ends part 34.
Seems things are REALLY heating up. Will Viperion and Ryuuko be able to help Ladybug and Chat noir?
Will Ladybug and Chat noir be able to get through to their brainwashed friends?
Will Masquerade's gambit be enough for her to get her vengeance?
Whats Simularé's deal?

modern day romeo and juliet part 2
read part one here!
a/n:Â here is the largely anticpated part two of the imagine! after getting numerous asks begging for a part two, i decided to finally publish it. sorry it took me so long besties but school and softball have been kicking my ass lately. love you all!!!Â
summary:Â you and hawk are going strong but your friendship with sam and demetri has fallen apart, or has it. (also warning: reader gets a bloddy nose in this imagine if that bothers you in anyway donât read)
word count: 1,711
âso are you and hawk like together now?â moon asked as the two of you walked to the cafeteria. âyeah,â you answered, a light blush coating your cheeks. âoh my gosh yes! iâm so happy for you!â she shouted, wrapping her arms around your shoulders, squeezing tightly. âthanks moon,â you replied half-heartedly. moon immediately picked up on your sad demeanor, âwhat's wrong?â ânothing,â you answered, giving her a fake smile. moon was going to call your bluff, but she was interrupted by hawk. âhey guys,â he greeted, pulling you into a tight hug.Â
âhi hawk,â you replied, arms wrapped around his waist as he swayed you back and forth. âare you sitting with us at lunch?â he asked, looking at you. âyeah probably. your friends wonât mind right?â you asked. hawk immediately shook his head no, the two of you just staring at each other intensely. âyou guys are so cute! iâll see you later y/n,â moon announced, walking away from you and hawk. the two of you pulled apart, hands intertwined as he led you over to the cobra kai table.Â
âanything from sam?â hawk asked quietly. you gently shook your head, causing hawk to frown. he placed a gentle kiss on your forehead, âsheâll come around,â he assured. âi hope so,â you mumbled as the two of you sat down at the cobra kai table. your sad mood was immediately lifted however when doug and big red started throwing napkins at you.Â
âi canât believe sheâs actually sitting with him,â demetri said, appalled at the fact that you were sitting with hawk at lunch. âwhy wouldnât she be sitting with hawk? theyâre together now,â moon said, a happy smile on her face as she watched you laugh from your spot next to him at the cobra kai table. âi still canât believe that. how could y/n even like someone like him?â sam asked, angrily stabbing at her lunch with a fork. moonâs eyes widened as she watched sam. âarenât you happy for her?â moon asked, confusion clear in her voice.Â
sam scoffed at moonâs words. âwhy would i be happy that sheâs fraternizing with the enemy?â sam asked. âthe enemy? do you even hear yourself?â moon asked sam, and even demetri looked surprised by samâs words. sam was silent, shooting a sad look your way. âyou regret it donât you?â demetri accused sam, but she just remained silent, looking down at her lunch. âregret what? what did you guys do?â moon asked.Â
âwhen we caught y/n and hawk kissing at your party a while back, we may have kicked her out of miyagi-do,â demetri mumbled, feeling ashamed by their actions. âare you kidding me!â moon yelled, causing some heads to turn, but she just shooed them off with a wave of her hand. âthatâs why y/n has been so down lately? because you kicked her out of karate?â moon asked, while demetri and sam just nodded. âyou guys are the worst,â she continued. âthanks for reminding us,â sam mumbled, sparing a glance at you.Â
you were laughing at something that doug had said. âthatâs too funny,â you mumbled between laughs. the boys just laughed at how funny you found dougâs joke, when in reality it wasnât meant to be that funny. âi canât believe that youâre in miyagi-do y/n. youâre nothing like those dorks,â doug said. you tensed up at his words, and hawk took immediate notice. he glared at doug, ready to tell him off, but you beat him to it. âiâm actually not in miyagi-do any more. they kicked me out,â you said sadly. the boys all looked around in embarrassment. âbut itâs whatever because i have a boyfriend and all the children we adopted now,â you joked, holding up peace signs.
âwhat kids did we adopt?â hawk asked, confusion clear in his voice. âliterally everyone here. they are all out children,â you explained, gesturing to the table full of boys. the boys all burst into laughter while hawk just wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. you rest your head on his shoulder, placing a small kiss on his neck. âew! imagine having to watch your parents do that!â doug shouted jokingly, throwing a fruit snack your way. everyone laughed at him, and soon lunch was over.       Â
--
âhawk! wait for me!â you shouted, walking out of the locker room dressed for gym class. hawk immediately stopped walking, waiting for you to catch up to him. âhi!â you said, giggling as he peppered small kisses all over your face. âhawk letâs go!â one of his friends yelled from up ahead. hawk grabbed your hand, intertwining your fingers, as he pulled you towards the front of his squad.Â
together the group of you walked onto the soccer field. of course the boys were being confident, walking with their heads held high. you just rolled your eyes at them and their cocky behavior. âalright letâs remember to keep the aggression to a minimum due to the schoolâs new policy,â the gym teacher shouted as she blew the whistle signaling the start of the soccer game.Â
almost immediately, sam and the other miyagi-do students were blatantly going for the cobra kai boys. you noticed that doug was about to retaliate but hawk held him back, mumbling something, which clearly calmed him down. the game continued, and hawk scored a goal. you cheered loudly for him, and he just winked at you, causing you to blush. the game went on, and each dojo was getting progressively more aggressive. you were running down the field when someone called you name, causing you to turn around. the next thing you knew, the soccer ball was flying towards your face. you didnât have anytime to cover your face, and so you got hit in the face with the ball.Â
âwhat the fuck!â you shouted, hands flying up to your nose which was now gushing blood. ây/n!â hawk called from across the field, running over to you. âbaby let me see it,â he demanded, pulling your hands away from your face. he removed your hands, and tilted your head back to help stop the flow of blood. âwho did this?â hawk asked loudly, glaring at everyone around him. when nobody answered he shouted even louder, âwho did it?â this time sam stepped forwards. âit was an accident, i swear,â she rushed, looking nervously between you and hawk.Â
hawk rolled his eyes at sam, his jaw and fists clenching. âyeah iâm sure it was,â he growled, taking a threatening step towards her. âhawk!â you shouted, but he ignored you. âi-â sam started but she was cut off by hawk. âwhat? kicking her out of karate wasnât enough? i get it that you guys donât like me, but just because weâre together doesnât mean that you should punish her for it. especially since weâre happy. donât come near her again!â he finished, and you couldnât help but swoon. heâs defending my honor. thatâs so hot, you thought. Â
after his conversation with sam, hawk took you to the nurseâs office. she just gave you an ice pack and some paper towels, before sending you back to class. you and hawk were walking to your next class when sam and demetri approached the two of you. âi thought i told you to stay away from her,â hawk said, stepping forward but you stopped him by placing your hand on his chest. hawk huffed, but stayed quiet. it was silent between the four of you, all of you just staring at each other. âwas there something you guys needed?â you asked.Â
demetri cleared his throat. âyeah we were hoping to talk to you. preferably without your boyfriend,â he said and hawk tried to step forward but you stopped him once again. âyeah thatâs fine. iâll see you in class babe,â you answered, kissing hawkâs cheek before shooing him away. once he walked down the hall, and was far enough away from you, you looked towards demetri and sam. âwhat was it that you wanted to talk about?â you asked, crossing your arms.Â
âwe wanted to invite you back to miyagi-do. it was wrong of us to kick you out,â sam said, not making eye contact with you. you scoffed at her words. âwhy should i even come back? you guys made it pretty clear that you didnât want me there,â you said. âthatâs because youâre dating hawk of all people!â sam shouted at you, and you glared at her. âsam! we came to make amends not cause more problems!â demetri interjected, glaring at the larusso girl.Â
âlook y/n, iâm sorry, for everything. i know that you really like hawk, and that the two of you are happy together. and,â demetri started, taking a deep breath, âif youâre happy then iâm happy for you. i understand if you donât want to come back to miyagi-do or even be our friend, but i just want you to know that iâm sorry for everything, nose included.â you smiled at demetriâs apology. âthanks demetri, that means a lot. i donât think that iâll come back to karate, but iâd love it if we could try and fix our friendship,â you said, looking at him. âyeah, iâd like that,â demetri answered, a big smile on his face.Â
the two of you turned to face sam, who remained silent the whole time. âiâm sorry too y/n. i never shouldâve kicked you out of miyagi-do for being with hawk, especially since you guys are great together. and iâm sorry for your nose. iâve been such a bitch to you, and i understand if you donât accept my apology, but i would like to be friends again,â sam apologized, looking at you shyly. you smiled softly at the girl, âiâd like that.â sam smiled back at you. you all knew that things were going to be different now, and this isnât something that you were just going to forgive and forget, but you were all willing to make amends and thatâs all that matters.Â
you walked into your next class, taking your seat next to hawk, with a smile on your face. âeverything okay?â he asked, looking you over. âeverythingâs perfect,â you answered, kissing him softly. Â

Best Friends Brother Part 3 - G.W
Masterlist, Requesting Rules, Writing Prompt Masterlist
This is part 3 of âBest Friends Brotherâ please read part 1 and part 2, want to be tagged? let me know!Â
George Weasley x Fem Reader slow burn
Warnings: mention of food and eating, swearing,Â
The moment your lips touched, fireworks went off around you, George wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close to him - all of your worries withering away, all you could feel was happiness and pure bliss.
George pulled away from the kiss and slowly opened his eyes, you were in shocked and couldnât believe whoâs lips had collided with yours moments before.
Opening your eyes slowly, you stared into Georgeâs brown ones, his gentle hands holding yours and squeezing them softly.
âT-Thank you for tonightâ you blushed, letting go of one of his hands, tucking a stray hair behind your ear nervously âItâs been wonderful.â
George smiled softly and nodded âit hasâ he paused for a moment, his thumb tracing circles into your palm âsame time next week?â he asked, sounding quite nervous.
You squeezed his hand back in excitement and nodded âI would love toâ you beamed.
Your three month anniversary was hanging around the corner, you had planned a whole day out on Saturday once George finished Quidditch practice, your heart fluttering in excitement and skipping beats, causing you to squirm in your seat - giggling out and squealing, confusing those around you, especially Ron who thought you were going barmy.
Despite seeing each other every day, the two of you were keeping things secret, you weren't ready for anyone to know - George knew his little brother all too well and so did you, Ron would be far from happy.
âGeorge didnât say anything to you after he, you know?â Ron asked, acting quite shifty in his chair.
âNo he didnâtâ you replied, âheâs not interested in me Ron, he just hates creeps.â
âWhere were you last night?â Ron asked over breakfast, staring at you questioningly.
Shit! Think of something! I totally wasnât kissing your brother, no, not at all.
âI went for a walkâ you lied âI just had so much energy and needed to get out, I found an injured little owlet and was up all night nursing it, heâs helping me get over Penny.â
Ron believed you and nodded slowly âare you sure youâre ready for another owl?â he asked, trying to sound as caring as he could.
You sighed âI think itâs about time, yeahâ you replied âItâs been almost over a year so I figured why not.â
So instead, you wrote to each other a few times a week, you had to admit, you quite liked the schedule; Wednesdays and Sundays nights were for the love letters, Saturdays were for dates unless he couldnât skip Quidditch and the rest of the week you barely spoke and only engaged in eye contact if you were in the company of others - if not, you would hold hands and kiss in empty broom closets or even in the astronomy tower, but it was rare as Fred was never far behind from his twin.
Dearest Y/N,
Although we see each other every day and go on dates most weekends (when Ron isnât on your back, or when Iâm in detention like now) writing to you feels just as good as the real thing - but still bloody ridiculous.
Fred keeps asking what Iâve spent my Galleons on, told him it was for an experiment to do with our products weâre testing - heâs suspicious but believes me after I made myself sick to get out of Quidditch, oh the things I do for you, Y/N.
I think Gideon is the perfect name for the Owlet, mum will be so heart warmed and honoured when she finds out - but donât bring the galleons into it of course, not until the joke shop is up and running with great success!
Seeing you last night up in the Astronomy tower was nothing short of the highlight of my day, I wish we could do it more often, but not to worry - one day we wonât need to meet up in private at all.
Anyway, I better get back to some homework before the greaseball comes over and reads this - detention with him always drags.
The next one will be longer, I promise, love.
Lots of love,
Georgie.
Dear George,
You should be focusing, get your head down and do your homework if you can bear it, I swear George, the day I receive a letter from you that wasnât written in detention will be the day I wink at Snape - itâs silly Iâm even asking you knowing that itâs never going to happen.
Your letters always cheer me up, Georgie, I can hear your voice as I read, feels like youâre sitting next to me and itâs good enough for me at the time being, Iâm so thankful that we arenât hundreds of miles away from each other.
Hey! You canât be skipping Quidditch for me, you plonker! Gryffindor team need you and youâre a bloody good Beater - unbeatable in fact but stop skipping! we can make up for a lost date another time, Iâll try not to miss you too much I swear.
Thank you for gifting me Gideon, he is the sweetest little owlet and I cannot wait to watch him grow and to teach him like I did Penny - if his mother will let me that is. I wonât say a word to anyone, no one will know that you did such a thing although I want nothing more than to tell everyone, your kind-heartedness should never go unnoticed.
The joke shop will sweep you up off your feet and I canât wait to see Weasley wizard Wheezes everywhere I go.
Thank you so much for last night, please donât forget to send me your Christmas list - please donât get me anything - Gideon is enough.
Focus on your bloody homework!
Speak soon and lots of love,
Y/N.
Looking over and your Owl, now named Gideon who had grown so much he was no longer a tiny owlet, you stroked his head and giggled at him as he nibbled on your finger.
âAlright, alright, but donât be out too longâ you whispered, opening your bedroom window, Gideon flapping his wings, leaping out and soaring into the night sky.
You beamed at your treasure, flying away to get some food for the evening, climbing into your bed as quietly as you could, hoping you wouldnât wake up Hermione or your other roommates. Sliding your hand under your pillow, you patted around for the love letters from George you were hiding from everyone.
Your fingers grazed the corners of the crinkled parchment, lifting up your pillow you retrieved his most recent letter, taking it with you as you dive under your covers, shielding you from your roommates and giving you some privacy.
âLumos!â You whispered, a beam of light stretching out from the tip of your wand, your cheeks flushing again upon seeing Georgeâs handwriting.
Dearest Y/N,
Thank you for the heads-up, saved me and Freddie a lot of trouble, I swear one day Mr Filch and that bloody cat wonât know whatâs hit them - if it wasnât for you, we wouldâve lost all of our plans and The Marauders Map, so thank you again for saving us all that trouble.
These three months have flown by so fast, I canât believe it, I know this seems rather daft - a tall prankster being all lovey-dovey like this, but you really make me happy and I canât wait to spend more time with you.
If you ever want to test any puking pastilles or fainting fancies, let me know and Iâll be able to look after you, love.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday so we can actually speak face to face - if Ron asks, you already know what to say.
Wrap up warm, itâll be quite cold in Hogsmeade.
Looking forward to seeing you,
lots of love,
Georgie.
âWhere are you off to so early? We never see you anymore over the weekend!â Ron complained, a mouthful of bacon.
âOh get some manners, Ronald!â Hermione hissed, knitting her eyebrows together and grimacing.
You stood on the spot and stared at Ron, trying to plaster the most obvious expression on your face to make him feel stupid. âIâm off to spend some quality time with Gideon, heâs only a few months old and I want to make sure heâs as stable as Penny was at her age - I wonât be able to trust him to send letters long distances otherwise.â you lied.
But in all honesty, you werenât really lying completely, next weekend was the end of term and the start of the Christmas Holidays - you wanted to make sure Gideon could deliver Georgeâs letters to the burrow, you wouldnât be able to hide them around for him to stumble across and pick up any more, and the two of you already discussed the problems of trying to use a device which muggles called a telephone.
âIâll write you letters every weekâ George whispered, standing next to you in the corridors swarming with busy students, Fred chasing after Angelina outside âlook in the middle of your textbooks, Iâll slide them in the middle of the pages.â
Opening up your book, a piece of folded parchment slid down and fell into your lap, you quickly stuffed it into your pocket, looking around to see if Ron noticed - luckily for you who he was copying Hermioneâs classwork.
Ron looked lost for words, swallowing his bacon and thinking about your owl and how much you truly loved them âAlright then, well, see you later.â he replied,
You raised your eyebrows and smiled, waving goodbye to him, Harry and Hermione, walking out of the Great Hall and getting ready to meet George in Hogsmeade.
âShe spends too much time with that bloody owl if you ask meâ Ron muttered, stabbing some peas with his fork.
Hermione sighed âI think itâs quite sweet actually, sheâs quite similar to Hagrid.â
Harry grinned and started to laugh, Ron rolled his eyes.
âExcept the fact that sheâs not a giant and she only flocks to birds of prey, not dragons or creatures that could kill us!â
âWell, at least you know where sheâs goingâ Fred called out, walking past his brother âGeorge never tells me where heâs off to and what heâs up to on a Saturday, heâs skiving Quidditch practice again and I get in bothered for it - I canât check either because heâs got that sodding map with him!â
George wasnât wrong, this time of year, Hogsmeade was freezing - your fingers changed colour and you could feel the ache and tingle against the freezing air that nibbled on your exposed skin.
You embraced yourself in one of the jumpers he had given you, one you were wearing under your fluffy winter coat which matched the colour of the snow. Looking around the small Village, you noticed George waiting outside The Three Broomsticks, looking slightly nervous as he scratched the back of his head.
You walked up to him, as you got closer you couldnât help but blush at his red nose that had been attacked from the harsh winter air âHello, Georgeâ you smiled softly, pulling him into a hug after clearing the coast of possible students.
George held you in his arms for a moment, taking in your scent and the feeling of your face against his chest, your hair under his chin as it rested on your head. âshall we get a drink, love?â he asked softly.
Following him inside and getting sat down in a quieter area of the pub, George ordered you and him a butterbeer and held your hand over the table, casually checking the map every now and then, checking on his brothers.
âItâs so good to see your faceâ he smiled, his starry eyes getting lost in yours.
You blushed and smiled widely, your drinks being placed down on your table, âItâs so good to see you too, canât believe itâs been three months already!â
George took a sip of his butterbeer, the butterscotch warming up his tummy, you mirrored him, leaving behind a white foamy moustache. George smirked and leaned over the table, carefully avoiding spilling his drink as he wiped away the foam sitting on your top lip with his thumb, his index finger lifting up your chin.
The two of you exchanged a quick, risky kiss, remembering you needed to tone things down despite how hard the temptation was to snog him. George leaned back in his chair, sucking the foam off his thumb.
âIâve been training Gideonâ you beamed, the butterbeer warming you up âheâs finally got the hang of flying long distances and coming back in one piece.â
Meeting George in the small and squashed broom closet, he examined your tired features, looking slightly concerned, his hand resting against your face.
âAre you alright love?â he asked, âyou look exhausted.â
You nodded and replied âIâm fineâ suppressing a yawn âbeen up all night with Gideon, heâs growing so fast and he wonât allow me to baby him forever - heâll be big enough to deliver letters soon.â
George felt a part of him fall in love with you all over again, the picture of you and Gideon in his mind made his insides got all warm and fuzzy - more so than his drink.
âSo now heâll be delivering you letters over Christmas!â
George went quiet and scratched behind his head like he did when he stood outside the pub, he paused for a moment and pursed his lips, licking them. âAbout that..â he trailed off, staring at his now half-full glass of butterbeer.
Your insides started to sink suddenly but your hopes were lifting, trying to figure out what he was going to say.
Is he staying at Hogwarts for Christmas with me whilst everyone else goes home? Am I unable to send him letters over Christmas if he goes back home?
âWhat is it?â you asked, both curiously and nervously.
George broke out into a smile, quickly glancing at the map again, then looking back into his favourite pair of eyes.
âWell, I was wondering...â he paused again âif you would like to stay at the burrow over Christmas, with me, everyone else of course but-â
âYes!â you squealed, getting excited âoh George I would love to!â
George broke out into a grin, so relieved you were willing to come and spend some more time with him, a chance for the two of you to try and get some private time together, in the comfort of his own home.
âI had to ask mum âon behalf of Ronâ so if she says anything, just go through with itâ George said quietly âRon wouldnât remember asking me to do such a thing anyway - his head is that clouded with Hermione.â
You swallowed down the rest of your drink, remembering to wipe away your foamy moustache this time âThis is going to be wonderful, Georgeâ you smiled, squeezing his hand over to the table âTwo whole weeks that we can just.. just be ourselves together!â
George smiled but remembered to remind you âWe still need to keep everything on the down-low, it will be a full house and if we disappear it will be obvious weâre together - weâll just need to wait for everyone to go to bed or go for a walk when theyâre too busy to notice.â
You nodded your head, remembering that you would now be under not just Ronâs watch, but every Weasley who wouldnât approve of your budding relationship.
George kissed your hand and looked down at the map once more, his smile dropping.
âShit!â he panicked, getting up out of his seat.
âWhat is it?â you panicked, following him to the back doors in the pub.
He stared down at the map, his eyes following the group of feet storming into Hogsmeade âFred, Ron, Harry - everyoneâs heading this way - to this bloody pub!â
You swallowed hard, the butterbeer churning in your stomach, Georgeâs drink rising up into his throat.
âWhen we can get away Iâll head to the owlery!â you put your coat back on, pulling the zip up quickly âyou go hurry to Honey Dukes or Zonkoâs when you get the chance, youâll find your letter folded in your Quidditch jersey!â
George nodded, looking up from the map and quickly kissing you on the lips, the look in his eyes expressing the most sympathy you had ever seen.
Keeping things a secret would only get harder, harder than you and George were expecting.

An Exorcist Dance - Yukio Okumura
Author Note: So this is a break from the Arima, Nobuchika, William and Claude. am I right? I remember first watching Blue Exorcist with my Twin and my god did I fall for that show. It was probably one of my first Anime's. I just read the Manga and Yukio will always be my favourite. Followed by Mephisto and Shiro Fujimoto.
âYouâre coming too Yuki?â Shiemi extolled as they made their way through the cram school corridors. Truth be told the younger Okumura had no idea what she was questioning him about and if he hadnât had a bad feeling in his stomach, he would have said yes there and then. He exhaled as he paused the thoughts that had been distracting him.
âIâm sorry, I wasnât paying attentionâ Yukio confessed, he let his hand fall on the back of his neck as he smiled at his student. Anyone else wouldâve been fine with it but he saw the disheartened expression that crossed over her features, and if he saw it so had his brother. He felt the impact before he registered it. The harsh thump had ricocheted pain through his arm.
âThe exorcist dance, you know sort of like a prom or a ball. Like in one of those nerdy manga books you readâ Rin jabbed. Yukio had no intention of attending a dance; he had never attended one voluntarily before, usually he would be working or studying.
âIâm sorry, Iâm working on the day of the dance,â He apologised; he felt Shiemi sadden before she turned her attention to Rin.
âYouâre coming though Rin; we could go together?â Shiemi raved. She hadnât noticed the meaning of her words, or the way Rinâs body stiffened, and his blood pooled in his cheeks. Without speaking he nodded. Yukio stifled the laugh that threatened to cause ruckus through the air.
âNo fair, I was going to ask you thatâ Yukio caught the mumbled whine that left Rin as they entered the classroom. He watched as his brother slunk his way into his seat, his pride damaged. The youngest Okumura glanced over the rest of the class; the girls sat off to one side whilst the boys nursed their wounds. It was clear Shima had once again asked Izuku to a dance, and perhaps Bon had asked [Y/N]. No Yukio refused to let that image enter his mind, but he didnât stop the sense of joy that pricked at his mouth when he took in Bonâs rejected features.
âWell class, today Iâll be giving you back your recent Pharmaceuticals quiz- âYukio began, his words fell short at the sudden crash. His head shooting towards the source. He watched as Mephistoâs form entered the classroom. This had become more than a common occurrence. For a second, he contemplated that the demon was keeping a particularly close eye on his lessons.
âIâm sure youâre all excited for the coming dance and I just wanted to stop by and inform you that everyone should be in attendance, no excuses.â Mephisto practically sung as he addressed the students. âEven you [Y/n], Iâm glad to see your injuries from the recent exorcism have healed nicely.â
Recent injuries. Yukioâs head shot towards her. Worry swarmed the teen as he registered the bandage just peeking out the cuffs of her sleeve. Heâd sat in a room with her for hours on end each day and not once had he noticed her wince in pain, nor had he heard about her going out on any exorcisms. She wasnât cleared for any-
âMr Okumura,â Mephistoâs voice snapped him clear of his thoughts. âMiss Moriyama informed me youâre working the day of the ball. Everyone is to attend, given how hard youâve all worked recently, I think you deserve the break as well. Wouldnât you agree?â
âUh, yes.â Yukio agreed. Heâd let Mephisto win this time.
âIâll be off then. I declare the cram school cancelled for today, weâve got a dance to prepare forâ Mephisto grinned.
âDonât forget to grab your tests on your way outâ Yukio barked as they all but ran from their seats. He observed them as they went, his eyes moving to the next as they picked through the pile of papers. Until the last left was hers, he watched as she cautiously stood, a brief wince falling across her face. She wasnât in pain, she justâŠwell he could see her eyes looking everywhere but him. âYou got hurt on an exorcismâ he croaked.
âIf Iâd told you Mephisto asked me to go on an exorcism you wouldâve asked to join, plus I had Shura supervising me. Itâs just the exorcism was in my hometown.â She smiled. She made her way to the front, her hand reaching for the paper. âAnyway Mr Okumura, I donât think it matters what I do in my free time, considering how our last conversation went.â
This time Yukio winced. He felt the sharp blade of guilt turn in his gut. He called her impulsive and reckless when she stood against Amaimon. If Rin hadnât caught the Demonâs attention your injuries could have been catastrophic. He felt his harsh shouts echo through the room as though the walls had remembered them.
âI-âHe paused, his mouth closing as he looked down.
âIf it helps, the anger from that argument helped me kick serious backside on the field. Especially when I was trapped between a rock and a demon. I wonât bore you with the details, Iâm sure youâll find the reports somewhere. Thanks for the test Mr Okumura, I guess Iâll see you at the dance tomorrow.â
Yukio hadnât slept that night; he hadnât even been conscious through his training that day as he kept pinging back to her words. He shouldâve just told her why heâd been so angry after that incident. Not only had his brother lost control and been taken away in cuffs but his students had been injured. Heâd been helpless in that moment caught between the threat and protecting them. He held seniority in that situation with Shura indisposed. Yet he let her antagonise Amaimon, whilst he patched the others up. Sheâd been hurt because he couldnât get to his guns quick enough, sheâd been both hurt and saved by his brother in the space of a minute.
Yukio stood with his back against a wall as the dance began. He hadnât registered people trying to gain his attention as he swam in his own thoughts. He hadnât noticed Rin and Shiemi laughing as they approached him in an attempt to get him to loosen up. To remember that right now he was still a teenager and that even the other Exorcists were letting themselves enjoy the night.
âIt takes some level of antisocial to be stood in the dark at a dance.â Her voice had been the only one to ripple against his thoughts. His eyes blinked a few times before he straightened up. He smiled feebly at her. How long had she been stood there? How long had it been since heâd arrived, by the looks of the exhausted crowd it had been a while? The dancefloor had been all but abandoned with only a few remaining people dancing with one another. âHere I got you a drink but then from the looks of the teachers I think Mephisto may have spiked it. Iâd give it a pass.â
âThat clownâ Yukio grumbled. âIâve been thinking and about the other day. After the whole Amaimon fight. It was wrong of me-â She stopped him. A hand on his shoulder squeezing firmly.
âMr Okumura- Yukio its fine. I was angry too; they carted your brother off and Mephisto wouldnât say anything. I asked him to give you a break and before you get angry, it was my choice. I went on the exorcism in your place. These injuries are my fault. But Iâm fine. So fine that I wanted to ask you something. Yukio Okumura, can I have this dance?â She interrupted him. He felt the anger bubble for a while as he let the information sink in. He sighed, his head dropping for a second before he nodded.
âI mean considering all of our classmates have passed out, sure. But really it should be me asking you. At least thatâs what Iâve wanted to ask you for a while.â Yukio uttered. He held his hand out to her, his eyes peering at her over his glasses as he smiled. She placed her own hand in his as they stood to the side, there was no need to walk into the spotlight at least he hadnât felt the need to do that. Instead, he pulled her close to him as the music lulled into a slow melody.
Her head fell against his shoulder as he held her tight, their bodies swaying together. He pulled himself closer to her, his head resting atop hers as his thoughts that had clouded his mind for days evaporated. Right this instance, all he could focus on was her.
âIâm sorryâ He whispered; his lips ghosted over the top of her head as he listened to the music. âI wanted to do nothing more than run after you after our conversation, I wanted to apologise and tell you that I was mad because Iâd failed as both a teacher and a friend. You were hurt on my watch and I let you put yourself in the line of danger. I was mad because you mean more to me than anything.â
âI waitedâ Her words fell in line with the rhythm as she lifted her head to look him in the eye. âI waited for a while outside the door. If it helps, I wanted to go back in the room, and both hit you and kiss you. If you failed as a teacher, then I failed as a student.â She smiled. He mirrored her smile. Both becoming aware of just how little space there was between their faces, and just as they felt the breath of the other heavy on their lips; a shriek tore them apart.
âMr Okumura, seriously. You rejected me for himâ Bonâs voice boomed from across the hall. The commotion had caught the attention of most of the other students, bar Shima who had fallen unceremoniously asleep across a few chairs.

maybe after todayâs acls training i can finally write that chengqing ER oneshot.Â
â âPatient male, mid-twenties, motor vehicle collision, eta 3 minsâÂ
â âWhat no vitals? No GCS? ETA 3 mins? Whoâs on the paramedic team?!âÂ
â âNo oneâŠ.Dr. Lu hit someone with her car on her way out of the hospital.âÂ
ăA Midnight Conversation in Your Local ERă- Complete
[1]Â
The night hunt had gone to shits.
That much was undeniable.
Jiang Cheng heard the panicked shout of his disciples just as he saw the array that he had stepped on.
Fuck.
The ghost of an once mediocre demonic cultivator wanna-be was going to bring Jiang Cheng, Jiang Wanyin - the Sandu Shengshou - to meet his maker. The irony of the situation would be laughable, if he wasnât so irrevocably screwed.
That was his last thought before his entire body was engulfed by a blinding light and the world he knew disappeared.
The ground beneath his feet gave away, weightlessness paralyzing his body though he did not fall. He feltâŠlaunched, his body warping and squeezing and stretching, the air sucked from his lungs into the endless black vacuum.
But just like that it was over. Jiang Cheng barely had time to make peace with his death before his feet touch solid earth again.
Or at leastâŠ.he thought it was earth, this black, tarry hard thing striped with yellow and white. He stared at it dumbly, breathless and disoriented, barely able to react when a loud blare assaulted his senses and his world went blindly bright yet again.
This time there was pain.
Jiang Cheng clutched Sandu, ready to fight, but then his head hit the ground and everything went dark. When he woke up again, an indeterminate amount of time later, he was in a small tube and had a distinct feeling he was not wearing pants, socks or shoes.
How the fuck do you âscanâ a cat??? Â
[2]
Method actor. The nurse, from the other side of the curtain, mouthed silently.
âSir, can you tell me your name.â
âJiang Cheng, Jiang Wangyin.â
The resident paused, awkwardly contemplating how to continue. âUhâŠ..which is it? Jiang Cheng or Jiang Wanyin?â
âJiang Cheng, zi Wanyin.â
âTraditional parents?â The resident tried to crack a joke, but it fell flat. The strange man stared up at him with a blank look in his eyes and a frown that was rapidly deteriorating into a scowl. The resident cleared his throat and cast his eyes back onto his clipboard. âUh, ahem, just the name on your ID please.â
âMy what?"Â
"Your personal IDâŠ.like a driverâs license?â
âCultivators of the gentry fly on swords or ride horses. We do not rely on carriage valets.â
âEh⊠right. Uhm, can you tell me how old you are and what year it is.â
âIâm 39, and the year is jiachen.â
Lu Qi frowned from where she stood by the door, arms crossed, watching her resident and medical student work. 39? He looks like a college student. But he also thinks he can fly, so I guess age is the least of our worries.Â
âJiachen.âŠ?â
The M3 fished his phone out from his scrub pocket pocket and typed it in. âSounds like the ganji system, like an old timey way to record year used in the past.â He whispers clandestinely to the resident.
ââŠ.Right. And uh, do you where you are?â
The man scowled at him. âAm I supposed to?âÂ
The resident scribbled something on the chart, and then looked up with a plastered awkward smile. âWell, thank you Mr. Jiang for your patience. Wang Fei here is the medical student on our team. Heâs going to stay and ask you a couple more questions if you donât mind. Afterwards weâll confer with our attending and the team will be back to see you shortly.â
As he turned away, the R3 grimaced and shared a look with Lu Qi, who was the youngest attending physician in their ER, but was not technically working at the moment and so was not on the case. And technically, as the perpetrator who hit Jiang Cheng with her car, she had a severe conflict of interest.
At least this Jiang Cheng dude didnât seem keen on pressing personal charges against her for MVA or suing the hospital in general⊠but that being saidâŠ
Yeah, theyâre going to need a psych consult.Â
Unless heâs on acid.Â
Well⊠okay, psych consult either way.Â
[3]
"Itâs okay, you can relax.â Jiang Cheng said, waving dismissively at the woman standing by his bedside. âIâm not going to take you to the magistrate for hitting me with your carriage - car. You didnât mean to, and I just came out of nowhere.âÂ
â....Thank you.âÂ
âYouâre not Wen Qing. I know that now. Your name is Lu Qi. You can call off those psychia - psych - psychics - head healers - or whatever, Iâm not crazy. Itâs not my fault, you just⊠look so much like someone I used to know."
"Wen Qing.â Lu Qi echoed.Â
âYeah. Wen Qing. She was a healer - a doctor - like you, but different.âÂ
âI see. What happened to her?"
"She died. Almost twenty years ago."
"I'm sorry... that's awful.â Lu Qiâs response rolled off her tongue so well, because she had said those word a thousand times during her residency. So much so that it no longer had much meaning to her. Tonight however, she meant what she said. âWere you two close?"
"No, wellâŠyes, maybe. No we werenât exactly friends if thatâs what youâre asking. She...operated on me. Without my consent or knowledge. Took my brotherâs golden core and put it in me and then lied with my brother to my face about it. So no we werenât âcloseâ, but Wen Qing saved my life - well the purpose of it anyway. Saved me from a life of ordinariness.âÂ
Lu Qi did allow herself to dwell too much on what the fuck a âgolden coreâ was, because her gut response was almost instantaneous. âThatâs shitty of her.â
She clamped down on her tongue.Â
God, why did I have to say that? To his face?! He was obviously in love with this Wen Qing person and they were encroaching on some dangerous emotional territories, but Lu Qi swallowed down her caution and plowed on nevertheless. There were things she felt she had to say, and since sheâd already hit him with her car, how much worse could this shit get? âWhat I mean is she shouldnât have. Not without telling you. Besides...thereâs nothing wrong with ordinary.âÂ
Jiang Cheng chuckled bitterly. âMaybe youâre right. Still...she didnât deserve to die. What her clan did was not her fault.âÂ
Now that threw Lu Qi off. Did this guy...kill her?Â
Lu Qi half wondered if she stumbled upon a Yakuza-esque member whose psyche finally snapped after years of murder and violence. And yet, he seemed perfectly coherent, no flight of ideas, no tangential thought, no hallucations. Even his delusions seemed...logical.Â
I must be the one losing, damnit. Â
Jiang Cheng scratched a little at his chest, as if palpating for the âgolden coreâ that he spoke of. "She saved my life, but when she needed help, I couldn't save her. But, if I were to go back⊠I can't say I'll choose differently. My clan needed me, my clan who was almost cleansed by hers. No, no I wouldnât choose differently. I donât regret my choices, but I am sorry. Sorry to her, sorry to my brother. I'll always be sorry that she died, and that I failed her when she needed me."Â
Jiang Cheng had no idea why he was telling this stranger any of this, but maybe after twenty years, he was finally ready to address this guilt that he lived with. I mean who else was he supposed to tell? Jin Ling? It was nice, to have that face as an audience, receiving his words of confession.Â
"She would forgive you."Â
Lu Qi had no idea why she was offering absolution as if she had authority in this matter, but when she said it, the conviction she felt was so real, it was almost as though some external force was acting through her.
Which was ridiculous of course, but...Â
"How do you know? You're not her." Jiang Cheng shook his head. âI wouldnât forgive me.âÂ
"No, but you said she was a physician. So she should know, more than most, that sometimes there is no choosing who gets to live or die."
Jiang Cheng fell quiet at that, and his gaze grew distant. Lu Qi thought perhaps he was no longer seeing her as she was in front of him - white coat, scrubs, stethoscope -Â but someone entirely different. The tension he held in his shoulders slowly eased, and he sighed. In the silence that stretched between them, Lu Qi hoped that this strange man with his strange past could find a sliver of peace.Â
[4]
â Did you love her?Â
â I thought so, foolishly, but maybe I didnât. Even if I did, it was not well enough.Â
â Do you love her still?Â
â No... I donât know. Itâs been too long...but sometimes, late at night when Lotus Pier is quiet, I think I do.Â
...
â Are you ashamed of it?Â
...
â No. No Iâm not.Â
[5]
The patient known as Jiang Cheng left AMA, that is, against medical advice. It was the term they used sometimes for people who just up and leave without informing the team.Â
Lu Qi had gone out to check on his labs, which came back with bonker numbers (I mean really, a hemoglobin of 455, sodium of 200, and a HCO3 of like...3?), but Jiang Cheng was gone from Bay 6 when she returned. The nurse made the overhead page, a code yellow was called, but four hours later, Lu Qi was ready to admit that she was never going to see this Jiang Cheng ever again.Â
Somehow, she was okay with that. She had said what needed to be said. Â
Her chief had given her a call on her cell and told her to go home and sleep. The guy didnât look like he was gonna press charges, letâs count our blessings and move on. But the night had just been too damn strange that Lu Qi was all wired up from it and couldnât possibly fall asleep. She had handover at 10 anyway. There was a change of clothes and toiletries in her bag. She could always take a shower in the anesthesia staffâs on call room and sleep until then.Â
Dr. Sun was the anesthesia staff on-call tonight and was currently stuck in trauma OR. They were buddies since medschool; sheâd understand.
Sighing, Lu Qi took a seat on the bench across from the bougie cafe in the lobby of the hospital. At this hour, it was the only one still open in the entire facility. The drinks they sold cost an arm and a leg, but Lu Qi needed the pick-me-up after the night she had.Â
As she nursed the last bit of her matcha latte, two bickering voices pulled her attention to the front entrance.Â
âAiyo, A-Liang I already said Iâm fine! I donât need to be here!âÂ
âFuck out of here with that bullshit, Chen Zhaoxi. You fell off the fucking roof! If Wu Kun hadnât called me, youâd have gone on -â
It was him! Lu Qi shot up. It was Jiang Cheng!Â
But no...no it wasnât him. The well-dressed man dragging the second man (dressed in red pajamas) into the hospital was not Jiang Cheng. He had the same face - chiselled, handsome, scowling - but it wasnât him. For one, his hair was trimmed short and neat, unlike Jiang Cheng who looked like he walked straight out of a BL xianxia tv drama. Secondly, his face was softer, eyes younger, and he couldnât have been older than Lu Qi herself in her early thirties.Â
âI was just trying to get to the litter of kittens trapped -â
âYes, yes, and it was very heroic and Iâm sure it wouldâve made Wu Kun very horny, and you morons probably wouldâve fucked once he got home had you not made a valiant attempt at breaking your neck -âÂ
âExcuse me,â the security guard manning the information desk chastised sharply. âItâs 4am. This is a hospital! Lower your voices, sirs.âÂ
âSorry.â The men apologized sheepishly.Â
Then, A-Liang, Jiang Chengâs doubleganger asked, âCould you please direct us to the ER? This is my brother, he fell off a roof.âÂ
Lu Bin had no idea what possessed her to interject. âI can take you there.âÂ
All eyes fell on her. She walked towards them, heart pounding.Â
This canât be happening, this kind of thing just canât happen...Â
A-Liangâs face broke into a grateful smile. âThank you, Miss -â Then his gaze trailed to her badge, and he corrected himself, âDr. Lu. Iâm Shen Liang. This is my brother Chen Zhaoxi. I think he fractured...well multiple things, please help him.âÂ
âOf course, come with me. Letâs get him a wheelchair. If he fractured is leg, he probably shouldnât be walking.âÂ
âI didnât fracture -âÂ
âYou, you shut up.â Shen Liang rolled his eyes. âDonât listen to him. He can lose three out of four limbs and say â tâs but a flesh woundâ.âÂ
Lu Qi couldnât help but chuckle as she put an arm under the complaining Chen Zhaoxi and helped him towards the wheelchair.Â
Shen Liangâs smile widened.Â
[Extra]
âHoly shit, took you long enough!âÂ
When Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui finally dragged Jiang Cheng to their portal site, Jiang Cheng realized that the transportation talisman had created a channel through realities between what looked like two metal garbage dumpsters in a back alley behind a food establishment marked by giant yellow bunny ears.
Standing guard there, Lan Jingyi and Ouyang Zizhen were each munching on a strange layered bread and holding tall drinks contained in...what was it called again? Right. Styrofoam.Â
âWhat is that?â Jin Ling wrinkled is nose at it. Brat.Â
âItâs a Big Mac.â Replied Lan Jingyi as if Jin Ling was stupid. âAnd this is a milk shake.âÂ
Jin Ling scowled. âI said the bag of gold I gave you was for emergencies.âÂ
âYeah but we were hungry.â Ouyang Zizhen defended. He neglected to tell them that the cashier had refused to accept the gold and instead asked for âcashâ or âcardâ, neither of which they had, so Zizhen used a liiiiil confounding talisman he learned from Wei Wuxian. They did leave more than enough gold though...and that ought to cover the restaurantâs cost for their âburgerâlary . Reaching into the brown paper bag he held under one arm, Zizhen pulled out a little box that opened to show pieces of... something. âThese are chicken nuggets. Theyâre delicious! Try one! Theyâre really good with this sauce....hold on...âÂ
Lan Sizhui sighed. âWe donât have time for this. The portal will close soon. Letâs get Jiang-zongzhu home and we can sample these exotic food later.âÂ
The boys agreed.Â
Jiang Cheng shook his head and huffed.Â

New Girl on the Block (1)
(Hey guys! I finally got around to posting the first chapter of this! I hope you guys enjoy it, and please tell me if youâd liked to be tagged or want to read more! thereâs also a mini-series of Journal Entries connected to this fic.)
Ch.2
Chapter 1: Happy Accidents
Rosemary Highschool, a private school for the truly gifted and the rich. Anyone who attended this facility was either poised and reserved, or uptight, or all of the above. Therefore, when a stuttering, stumbling raven-haired girl came tripping through their doors, it was only natural that the students became curious.
Felix couldnât care less, if he was being honest. The girl was just another student, and he had better things to do than waste his time meddling in the personal life of a complete stranger.Â
His friends, however, did not share his sentiment.Â
âDid you hear?â Allegra asked as they walked to their lockers, her sky blue eyes wide with delight. She leaned forward slightly to catch a better view of their expressions, causing her golden braid to fall gracefully over her left shoulder.Â
âAbout the new student? Who didnât?â Claude replied, wearing his usual grin.Â
âHow do you think she got in?â Allan wondered aloud, fixing the green cap on his head in thought.
Felix rolled his eyes. His friends had always loved picking up on the latest gossip. He never understood why. Take this new student, for example. She hasnât even finished enrolling in the school yet, but everyoneâs already chattering relentlessly about her. Why? Because she was rumored to be clumsy? That was hardly an achievement, let alone something to be talked about by the entire school. So what was all the fuss about?
Allegra gasped, a smile lighting up her soft features. âOh! We should show her around! This school is huge, so sheâll definitely need a guide. Plus, we can get the first scoop on her.â
âAbsolutely not.â Felix finally cut in, giving her a sharp look. He refused to galivant around the school with a complete stranger while his classmates tried to pry into the poor girlâs personal life.Â
âWe didnât say you had to go.â Claude pointed out.
âBut you should at least say hi.â Allegra hastily added, a motherly tone coming to her voice.
Felix scoffed. Right. He would say âhiâ, then they would âconvinceâ him to stay- i.e. drag him by the collar -and he would end up going around the school with them anyway. Heâd gotten used to their tricks by now.
Allan frowned in disapproval. âCome on, Fe. Itâs the polite thing to do. We are her new classmates, after all.â
âYeah, Fe, donât be a jerk.â
âWhen am I ever not a jerk.â Felix retorted.
Claude smirked. âHeâs got a point.â
âFelix.â Allegra pressed, fixing him with a stern glare and putting her hands on her hips.
Felix groaned, irritation prickling up to the forefront of his mind. What did it matter if he saw the new student? He wouldnât be talking with her often, and they would probably meet later on during classes anyway. Why did they have to be so pushy?
He reached up to rub his temples and closed his eyes. If he couldnât see them, it helped him imagine that they werenât annoying him to the point of insanity.Â
âAlright, fine, but if any of you-â
Felix barely registered the hit. He heard his friends gasp, and the sound of his books and pencils scattering across the floor, and he felt the dull pain of someone smacking into him before he unexpectedly hit the ground.
Then his ears tuned into a light, yet panicked voice.
âIâm so sorry! I canât believe I just did that- are you hurt? Do I need to call the nurse?â
Someone was talking to him. Well, they were more of rambling, really.Â
âPardon?â He said, interrupting the personâs ramble as he rubbed his back. He glanced up to see a young girl kneeling on the ground in front of him. She was scrambling around on the floor- gathering up his books, he realized -and appeared to be even more disoriented than he was.
His question spooked her, apparently, because she jumped, and her eyes darted upwards. They were an overwhelming blue, bright and sparkling despite being filled with anxiety at the moment.Â
âI-Iâm sorry!â She repeated, briefly setting the books down so she could nervously pull on the tips of her raven-colored pigtails.
Felixâs eyes widened.Â
Raven.
Claude stifled a laugh behind him.Â
âItâs not a problem.â Felix sighed, swiftly taking his books back from her and moving to retrieve the others. This was exactly what he had wanted to avoid.Â
The ravenette furrowed her eyebrows, now bringing her hands down to play with the zipper of her black, half-sleeved jacket. âA-are you sure?â
He gave a short nod, scooping the rest of his books into his bag and slinging it over his shoulder.Â
âI wasnât looking where I was going, and I ran into you. If anything, I should be the one saying sorry.â His tone was composed, calm, if only for the sake of dignity. Claude and Allegra were never going to let him live this down.
He picked up her small handbag, holding it out to her. âSo, I apologize. Iâll be more careful next time, and I am willing to replace anything of yours that is broken.âÂ
A wash of color came to her cheeks.
âOh, That- that wonât be necessary, thank you.â She insured, taking the purse and clutching it to her chest.
Felix didnât reply, instead using the brief pause to look her over. With her light pink capris and child-like pigtails, she didnât exactly give off the impression of being rich or poised. Perhaps a relative bought her tuition? Thatâs happened before.Â
âAw, look! Felix made a friend!â Claudeâs snide remark broke Felix from his thoughts, and he shot the brunette a glare. That clown can never keep his mouth shut.
Allegra pushed past the two and extended a hand to the girl just as they got to their feet. âHi! Iâm Allegra. Whatâs your name?â
The girl smiled- which Felix found surprisingly pleasant -and took her hand. âMarinette. Itâs nice to meet you.â
âLike the doll?â Allan asked curiously, stepping forward as well.
âSort of, yes.âÂ
âThatâs pretty cool. Iâm Allan, by the way.â He introduced himself, also shaking her hand. He then pointed behind him, towards Claude and Felix. âThe one in the blue striped shirt is Claude, and the stiff board you just ran into is Felix.â
Felix hunched his shoulders slightly, a scowl tugging at the corner of his lips, but Marinette only laughed. It oddly reminded him of the sound of tinkling bells.Â
âYouâre new here, right?â Allegra asked before Felix could snark off to Allan. âMind if we show you around?â
A sigh of relief tumbled from Marinetteâs lips. âPlease do. This place is like a maze!â
Claude chuckled and nodded in agreement. âYeah, itâll make your head spin. We-â
â-Can start with the cafeteria.â Felix interrupted. The sooner they could start the tour, the sooner he could go home. âThen weâll work our way around the classrooms.â
He spun on his heel, ignoring his friendsâ smug smiles, and marched off. It wouldnât take long for them to follow.
Allan was the first to catch up, throwing Felix a sly smirk as he whispered, âI thought you said you werenât going to show her around.â
Felix shrugged. If he was going to suffer through the embarrassment of running into somebody, he might as well get something out of it. He would take her on a quick tour, and perhaps his friends wouldnât feel the need to meddle in his social life for at least another month.
âWeâre her new classmates, right?â He said. âWe should exercise basic politeness and guide her through the school.â
Allan hummed. âSounds like good advice. I wonder who couldâve told you that.â
âThe name escapes me.â Felix replied, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. He stole a glance over his shoulder to the rest of the group. Marinette was talking cheerfully with Allegra now, her previous show of anxiety all but gone. She even looked a bit confident with the tripping matter settled. Isnât that strange?
â...What else do you know about her?â
~~~~~~
When Maman suggested that Marinette start attending Rosemary Highschool, reluctance couldnât begin to express how sheâd felt. Sheâd heard the rumors, how the kids were spoiled, snobby brats, how the classes were just a room full of fancy trinkets to keep the kids satisfied for a while. Marinette honestly didnât want any part of it, but at that point, any school was better than her old school. She simply couldnât stand Lilaâs schemes anymore, nor Adrienâs relentless pursuit of having them get along. As bad as Chloeâs bullying was, Marinette almost wished that she could go back to that time. At least then sheâd still have friends. (Well, calling her old classmates âfriendsâ would be over exaggerating now. At least then she wouldnât have to deal with getting bullied from everyone at school.)
Either way, Marinette chose Rosemary over Dupont in a heartbeat, despite her uneasiness, and found that it actually wasnât all bad. The endless halls were a bit confusing, but the classes were more advanced than others had let on, and though a select few of the students could be considered snobbish, everyone else seemed quite nice. A small group even offered to show her around. (After she ran into their friend, that is. Only Marinette could make such an embarrassing introduction.)
âI think that covers everything.â The girl of the group, Allegra, said. âBut in case youâre still confused, I have a map for you.â
âA map?â Marinette echoed. She didnât think they presented those at the school, though they probably should.
Allegra nodded and pulled a folded piece of paper from her school bag. âClaude gets lost all the time. So I started making maps for him. I have multiple maps because- typical Claude -he loses the maps too.â
âHow was I supposed to know that it got mixed in with my history homework?â Claude, obviously the jokester amongst them, defended with a flail of his arms.
âIf you ever need help,â Allegra continued, ignoring Claudeâs comment as she scribbled something on the map, âfeel free to text me.âÂ
âThank you so much.â Marinette smiled, peeking at the phone number that was now on the corner of the page.
âItâs the least we can do.â Allan, probably the most relaxed of the group, replied.Â
âItâs not as complicated as it looks. Iâm sure youâll get the hang of it within a week.â Ah, yes. Then there was Felix, the poor boy sheâd run into earlier. Heâd been extremely mature about the matter, even insisting that it was his fault and that heâd pay for any of her damaged belongings. Naturally, she refused the offer, but it was a thoughtful gesture nonetheless.Â
âIf not, you know where to find us.â Claude added, before scooping her hand into his and pressing a quick kiss to her knuckles. âBut I certainly wouldnât be opposed to you finding me for non-school related purposes as well.âÂ
Allegra rolled her eyes with a sigh, and Allan pinched the bridge of his nose. Felix just scoffed, especially when Claude winked at the end.Â
Jokester and flirt of the group. Marinette thought with a smirk. In one quick motion, she slipped her hand out of Claudeâs grasp and pushed him away by the tip of his nose.Â
âIâll keep that in mind.â She said, flashing him a wry smile.
Claude stumbled back a step, clearly shocked by her reaction. Allan straight up laughed next to him, and Marinette, to her delight, caught a glimpse of Felix smirking.
âOh, I like you.â Allegra snickered, slinging her arm over Marinetteâs shoulders.
âSo do I.â Claude grinned.Â
Allan, once his laughs died down, stepped forward. âDo you mind if I give you my number too? I canât imagine not hanging out with you now.â
Marinette blushed from the compliment, but nodded and handed him the paper. Claude eagerly jumped at the opportunity and wrote down his number too. Then the boys turned to Felix.
âWhat about you, Fe? Are you giving her your number now or are you gonna beg for it later?â Claude asked, his grin turning devilish.
Felix shot him a glare- which he apparently did quite often. âI donât beg.â
Allegra- ever the patient friend -let out a huff and shoved the paper into his hands. âFor Peteâs sake, Felix, just write your number on the dang paper.â
âO-Only if you want to.â Marinette interjected. She didnât want to cause a fight amongst them on her first day.
Felixâs glare faded slightly at her input, and he sighed.Â
âItâs fine. You would probably need it eventually, anyway.â He relented, plucking a pen out of his left vest pocket and jotting down his number on the paper too. Marinette smiled despite herself as she took the paper back. It was only her first day, but sheâs already made four, lovely friends. She liked to think of that as a good sign.
âHave you gotten your class schedule, yet?â Allegra queried now that the phone number matter was settled.
Marinette shook her head. âI was actually trying to find it when I bumped into you guys.â
Claude snorted. ââBumped intoâ. Good one.â
Marinette giggled along with Allegra and Allan. She hadnât meant it that way, but the irony was a bit humorous.Â
âLet us walk you to the office.â Allan requested. âThe school tends to overcomplicate things, class schedules included.â
âAre you sure? I donât want to hold you guys up.â
Allegra waved her hand dismissively. âClasses are over for the day, and our drivers are paid to wait for us.â
Marinette furrowed her brows slightly. âYour drivers?"
âYou know, the people who drive us to and from school and anywhere else we want to go.â Claude helpfully supplied.
So, like Gorilla. Marinette thought. It made sense. This was a school of kids who had fortunes of the same extent, if not greater than, the Agresteâs fortunes. If Adrien had a driver, then the students here would certainly have one too.
âYou donât have a driver, do you?â Allegra guessed.
Marinette glanced up at the blonde, a strange mix of surprised and embarrassed. Was it that obvious? Would it be weird in this school if she didnât have a driver?
âPlease donât take that the wrong way.â Allegra rushed to add, noticing Marinetteâs sheepish expression. âIâm just curious. We donât get many students here who arenât drowning in their own money.â
âThat makes sense.â Marinette replied. The tuition for this school had been unbelievably high. âBut no, I donât have a driver. My family was granted an early scholarship for me to come here.â
Surprise flashed across the groupâs faces, including Felixâs.Â
âWell, isnât that interesting.â Claude muttered.Â
Marinette shrank back slightly. âI-Iâm sorry-â
âNo, donât apologize.â Allan cut her off. âWeâre just impressed.â
âGetting a scholarship here isnât easy.â Allegra explained.Â
âI-Itâs only in the fashion section.â Marinette admitted, fiddling with the ends of her bookbag.
Claude gasped, a sparkle coming to his chestnut eyes. "You're a fashion designer?!"
âUh oh.â Allan smirked.
Allegra shot her an apologetic look. âIâd say that thereâs an escape to this, but I donât want to lie straight to your face on our first day of knowing each other.â
Marinette held back a smile. Did that mean she would lie to her face when they knew each other better?
âHow many outfits have you designed? Can you sow outfits too? Iâve had a few ideas, but none of the other art students listen to me-â Comments and questions started spilling out of Claude left and right. Things about smeared pencil drawings, pricked fingers, and his strange obsession with ruffled, prince-like sleeves seemed to explode out of his mouth all at once. Marinette knew her rambles could fall on the fast side, but this was a whole other level.Â
âIâd have to look through my notebook, but I think the ruffles are doable.â Marinette managed to say when Claude paused to take a breath.
âReally?!â He exclaimed, going so far as to clasp his hands together with a grin.
She nodded, smiling herself. âIâm not sure how princely sleeves would fair on modern sleeves, though. Theyâd look much nicer on a full prince costume.â
Claudeâs eyes bulged out of his head. âYou would design a full suit for me?â
âI canât promise that the fabric will be of good quality when I sow it, but yeah.âÂ
Claude threw his fists in the air in celebration, and Allegra took the opportunity to lightly pull Marinette aside.
âYou know you donât have to do this, right?â She whispered. âClaudeâs not going to be too disappointed if you decide to change your mind.â
Marinetteâs smile softened. âThanks, but I really donât mind. I needed a new project to work on, anyway.âÂ
Allegra studied her for a moment, then smiled as well. âWell, if youâre sure. Heâs going to send you cars full of fabric though.â
She laughed. âGuess Iâll tell Maman to start clearing out the guest room.â
~~~~~~
Felix stared at his book, rubbing the corner of the page between his thumb and index finger. His phone buzzed relentlessly beside him on the arm of his recliner, no doubt the group chat that he'd been roped into. It was chaotic enough when it was just Allegra, Allan, and Claude, but now that they've added Marinette to the group, Felix wondered if his phone would ever be silent again.
He supposed he should have known better than to assume they would show Marinette around the school and be done with her. Allegra, Allan, and Claude were always overly friendly. However, he also couldnât say that he minded having her around either. At least, not for the time being. She was considerate enough not to push his buttons and lively enough to keep the others occupied. No more on-the-spot activities from Allegra and Claude to cure their boredom.
"They're chatty today." Bridgette, his mother, commented from the loveseat couch to his right.
Felix hummed in agreement. "A new student arrived at the school today."
"Is that what they're talking about?"
He shook his head. "It's who they're talking to. The leeches have already adopted her."
Bridgette chuckled. âYou mean Allegra, Allan, and Claude?âÂ
âWho else insists on sticking to me like glue?âÂ
She tilted her head in a âTrueâ gesture. âWhoâs the new student?â
âHer nameâs Marinette.â Felix answered, flipping the page of his book.
âOh, thatâs a unique name.â Bridgette replied thoughtfully.
Felix hummed in agreement. âShe said it was supposed to be similar to the doll âMarionetteâ.âÂ
âYou talked to her?â Bridgette asked, surprise lacing her tone.
Felix resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He knew she didnât mean to sound patronizing, but sometimes her questions irked him. For example, why wouldnât he talk to the new student if Allegra and the others were? Even if he didnât particularly enjoy human interaction, there was still such a thing as common courtesy.
..Which he supposed he didnât usually have either.
Okay, maybe her question was more reasonable than he originally thought.
âYes, I actually ran into her while we were walking down the hall.â He finally said.
Bridgette tried- and failed -to hide her laugh. âYou ran into someone? Thatâs not like you, Felix.â
Felix sighed, slipping a bookmark into his book so he could close it. âIâm aware. I was trying to ignore Allegraâs prodding when it happened.â
âI see. What did Marinette say?â
âShe actually started apologizing.â Felix admitted. âEven though it was my fault, she picked up my books before tending to her own things and asked if I was alright.â
Bridgette smiled. âShe sounds delightful.â
He nodded without thinking. âAllegra even invited her to our routine luncheon tomorrow.â
Felix missed the twinkle in his motherâs eyes as she said, âWow, to your personal lunch? They must really enjoy her company. Youâll have to invite her over here sometime.â
âIâm sure Allegra will arrange it eventually.â Felix replied dismissively.
âThen I shall have to thank her when she does.â Bridgette remarked, standing up from the couch. Her fingers ruffled through his hair as she passed him. âIâm glad you had a good day at school, sweetheart.â
Felix almost objected, since he hadnât necessarily claimed to have had a good day at school, but decided against it. There was no point in arguing, especially when his day had, in fact, been satisfactory. Heâd met someone new, someone that intrigued him. (A rarity, indeed, but it was true.) In the short time they talked, Marinette had shown herself to be both kind and anxious, but also witty and confident. It was an interesting mixture that stuck out to him. What type of life must one live to create such a paradox of a personality?
Unfortunately, Allan and the others knew about as little as he did when it came to her. She was a new student that had a passion for fashion and a bright smile. That was all. This was why heâd elected to remain silent instead of sharply opposing Allegraâs inviting Marinette to their lunch. (The sly smiles that were thrown his way by Claude and Allan afterwards were above irritating, though.)
Nevertheless, Felix felt she was worth the teasing for now, because Marinette, in short, was a puzzle.
And Felix loved his puzzles.

âthe president and the troublemakerâ (part 1) (chilumi fic)
âLumine is the student council president and Childe is the schoolâs number one troublemaker. They cross paths more than theyâd like. Especially when Childe finds out Lumineâs big secret. Highschool AU Ă la Kaichou wa Maid-sama.â
if anyone has seen maid-sama, Lumine and Childe sometimes reminded me of Misaki and Usui so i had to write it hehe :3 if you havenât seen it, i highly suggest it, its a very cute anime and if you like chilumi, youâll definitely like the main couple in it! its on netflix! :D

âthe president and the troublemakerâ (part 1)
âChilde, for the last time, earrings are against the school uniform code,â Lumine said to him, eyes narrowing at the red jewelry dangling from his ear. He may have towered over her, but she was the student council presidentâshe had to enforce the rules no matter what.Â
Childe tilted his head, fingers grazing over his earring. âA tiny thing like this? Surely you can let me off the hook, Madame President?âÂ
âNo exceptions. Remove it now or I will forcibly confiscate it from you.âÂ
He scoffed, turning away. âIâd like to see you try.â
Lumine clenched her jaw, watching his back retreat down the hallway. Oh, she could easily take it from him. But this wasnât the place to use brute force. As much as he boiled her blood, she wouldnât dare reveal her secret here.Â
Childe, the schoolâs number one troublemaker: always getting into fights, never listening to authorities, doing whatever he pleased. And the worst part? He always got away with it.Â
The girls of the school fawned over his good looks, the boys envied his strength, and the elders fell victim to his charisma.Â
Not Lumine though. She refused to be influenced by him. Maybe thatâs why he always seemed so annoyed by her. Good.Â
She ripped out a page of her student council notebook, scribbling out Childeâs name and dress code violation, pocketing it to turn in later.Â
She practically stomped her way into the student council room, earning a glance from the Vice Presidentâher twin brother Aether.Â
âChilde?â he asked, going back to typing on his laptop.Â
Lumine slumped in her chair. âYes,â she nearly growled. âHow did you know?â
âBecause he always puts you in the worst of moods,â her brother answered. âMaybe it wouldnât hurt to put him in his place.â
âAnd get kicked out of school for murder? No thank you; Iâm not ruining an absolutely clean record for the likes of someone like Childe.â She flipped through her notebook, seeing all her citations on said troublemaker. âSoon enough, that boy is going to get expelled, mark my words.â
Suddenly, the door burst open, and the student council reporterâa student named Bennettâdashed in, holding the side of his face.
âMadame President!â he announced. âThereâs a fight breaking out in the hallway!â
Both Aether and Lumine stood. âWhat happened to your face, Bennett?â Aether asked.Â
The reporter let out a sheepish laugh. âI, uh, tried to break up the fight but ended up getting punched in the face.â
âOkay, câmon, letâs get you to the nurse,â Aether said, walking Bennett out the door.Â
Lumine quickly walked out after them, hearing the commotion down the hallway. As she turned the corner, there was a crowd of students circled around the tussle.Â
âOut of the way!â Lumine shouted.Â
At the sound of her voice, many students scattered back to their classrooms, leaving only the perpetrators still fighting: a short boy with cropped blue hair andâChilde.
âHey!â she yelled. âBreak. It. Up! Or itâs suspension for the both of you!âÂ
The short boy gave Childe a harsh shove, adjusting his odd cap with tassels on the sides. âYou donât have to fight me every time you see me, you brute,â the boy hissed.Â
Childe laughed. âCâmon, Scaramouche, donât be like that,â the ginger said. âWe were just having some fun, Madame President; no need to make a big fuss out of it.âÂ
Lumine glared at him. âWhy are you always at the center of trouble?âÂ
Childe shrugged. âLifeâs too boring.âÂ
Taking out her notebook, she scoffed. âWell, itâs about to get a whole lot more boring for you. Detention. After school. Both of you.âÂ
âIt was just some play fighting between friends, Pres,â Childe insisted. âDonât be so stuck-up.âÂ
âNot play fighting when one of my council members gets hit in the face,â she retorted angrily.Â
âCan I at least be let off the hook?â Scaramouche interjected. âHe was the one who attacked me.âÂ
The blonde sighed. âFine. This was your first offense anyways.âÂ
âTodayâs his first day after all,â Childe supplied.Â
âItâs his first day and you welcomed him by attacking him?â Lumine asked, crossing her arms.Â
He smiled. âWhat can I say? We know each other.âÂ
I want to punch that smile off his face. âScaramouche, go back to class. Childe, youâre coming with me to in-school suspension.âÂ
Scaramouche muttered something under his breath and walked away, while Childe cheerfully waved goodbye to him.Â
Lumine started walking down the other way, towards the ISS room, Childeâs footsteps falling in behind her. Most of the way was done in silence. Untilâ
âSay, Pres, why are you so stuck-up?â Childe asked.Â
Lumine grit her teeth. âHave you ever thought maybe Iâm not stuck-up, and maybe youâre just a troublemaker?âÂ
âHey, at least I make your life a little more interesting, donât I?â
âNot interesting. So much more unbearable.âÂ
âMaybe you should loosen up. Being like this wonât make you many friends.âÂ
âAnd fighting people will?âÂ
âFighting is fun. Youâre telling me youâve never watched a fight and found it entertaining?â
Lumine stopped in her tracks. âOf course not. You only do it when somethingâs seriously on the line. Not for fun.âÂ
âUh-uhm, excuse me,â a timid voice said.Â
Lumine turned to find a girl, she looked young, probably a freshman, clutching a card. âCan I help you?â the president asked.
âA-actually,â the girl responded, âcan I t-talk to Ch-Childe? A-Alone?âÂ
The blonde glanced at Childe, who shrugged back at her. Letting out a sigh, she said, âYes, go ahead.â She was doing this for the girl. Not Childe.Â
She walked ahead and turned the corner until she was out of sight and unable to hear. After a minute or so, the freshman girl ran past her, hysterically crying. Brows furrowed, she went back to Childe.Â
âSo, where are we going?â he asked nonchalantly.Â
Asshole. âWhat the hell did you do to her?â Lumine asked. âDo I really need to write you up again?â Â
âWhat? All I did was reject her confession.â
A glare at him. âBe nicer. Donât make girls cry.â She continued walking.Â
âOr maybe she should just be stronger.âÂ
âDonât you dare insult a girlâs strength in front of me.âÂ
âIâm not insulting the strength of a woman. Iâm just saying people in general could do better if only they were stronger.â His strides quickened, and soon he was in front of her. He flicked the earring dangling from his ear. âFor instance, if you had the strength, you could easily rip this from my ear, and you could stop stacking up those useless dress code citations for me.âÂ
Lumine had to clench her teeth to stop herself from murdering him on the spot. âIâm your student council president. I donât solve things through violence. Which is why you and I are different.â Lie, her gut hissed.Â
She stopped, throwing open the door to her left, gesturing into the room. âYouâll spend the rest of the school day here.â She turned in, looking at the teacher. âMr. Diluc, you have a student here for in-school suspension for the rest of the day.âÂ
Mr. Diluc glanced up from his book, expressionless. âChilde. Back so soon?âÂ
Childe sauntered in, taking a seat. âYou know our Pres. Always working on cleaning up the school from scum like me.âÂ
âGood for her,â Diluc said. âThank you, Lumine.â
Lumine nodded and closed the door behind her. Finally.
At least Childe wouldnât be causing anymore trouble today.Â
* * *
Lumine shivered as the chilling locker room hit her bare skin. Shedding her hoodie, she donned a simple black sports tank top and shorts.Â
âAre they ever going to get heaters for these locker rooms?â she muttered.Â
âItâs an underground fighting ring,â Aether said, âYou think they can afford state-of-the-art locker rooms?â He tossed her a roll of hand wraps.Â
She caught it, unraveling it, and started to wrap them around her knuckles. âYouâre right. As long as they pay me, I shouldnât be complaining.âÂ
Aether nodded, taking her gloves out from her gym bag. âAre you ever going to tell Mom how you get all this cash?â
âNever. Sheâd probably die of a heart attack.âÂ
âAnd your injuries?âÂ
âI try not to get any,â she said with a smirk. âIf I do, then, hey, the restaurant business can be dangerous...and I can be clumsy.âÂ
And that was her big secret.Â
In the night, Lumine was a top tier fighter in Teyvatâs underground fighting ring. She was known as âThe Outlander.âÂ
After their father had walked out on them years ago, Lumine, Aether, and their mother were left with a huge amount of his debt to pay off. Their mother took on two jobs to support them, leaving her exhausted, sickly, and barely home. Lumine and Aether couldnât find decent paying jobs at their age, so Lumine took matters into her own hands.Â
Through her tenacity, she trained hard and started showing up to the underground fights, learning her way through the system, and eventually began fighting herself. Sure, it was illegal due to the violence and betting system, but it made good moneyâfast. Enough money to support their family, pay off the debt, and save some aside for her and Aetherâs future.
Aether of course still worked as a cashier at a local grocery store (next to the restaurant Lumine claimed she worked at); Lumine would never let her dear brother participate in her line of work. He was only allowed to come along to cheer her on.  Â
She was also good at it. After some training, her instructors all praised her natural fighting instincts. In a matter of months, she had become one of the top fighters in her area.Â
It was out of necessity. They needed the money.Â
Of course, no one knew who she really was. She always fought with a mask onâshe couldnât let her identity be compromised. A high school student beating up all these grown adults? A chance she could be recognized and reported to authorities? No. Way. Plus, people liked the mysterious Outlander figure. Might as well milk it.Â
The cheers above her swelled, and Lumine did her final stretches and prepped to go out on stage.Â
âYou ready to fight tonight?â Aether asked.Â
Lumine slipped her mask on. âAlways.âÂ
She made her way up the staircase, and the buzzing crowd grew louder and louder, until she entered the arena, and the cheers became deafening.Â
The arena was probably around the size of her school gym, maybe smaller, but packed to the brim with cheering fans and a boxing cage in the middle.Â
She made her way up to the cage, chants of âOutlanderâ swirling around her, and took her walk around the area, getting a feel for the night. Eventually, her mind blurred out the crowd, focusing on becoming in tune with her body.Â
Tonight, her opponent was another member of the Hilichurl gang: a gang notorious for entering lots of members into these types of fights, even if they werenât good, as a way to try and earn any kind of money for their gang. It was an easy win. Lumine barely got hit. (The Hilichurl on the other hand ended the night sobbing his heart out on stage. Lumine felt kind of bad. Kind of.)
Soon enough, she and Aether were on their way home with a fresh wad of cash in their bag, practically skipping their way past the dim street lights. As they made their way towards their bus home, Lumine rifled through her bag, realizing she had left one of her textbooks in the locker room from when she had been studying before the fight.Â
She cursed. Now she had to go all the way back to the arena. âAether, you need to get homeâthe next bus wonât be here for another hour.âÂ
âLumine, I am not leaving you alone in this sketchy part of town.âÂ
âAnd you have to be there when Mom gets back, otherwise sheâll get suspicious.â Lumine was already turning around. âTell her I had to stay behind at the restaurant to help clean up.âÂ
Her brother pursed his lips.Â
âAether. Iâll be fine. Did you seriously forget what I did to get that stack of cash?â she reassured.Â
He sighed. âFine, fine. Youâre right.â He hugged his sister. âStill. Be careful, please.âÂ
She held up her fist which was still wrapped in the fighterâs tape. âOf course. See you back home.âÂ
With that, the twins went separate ways.Â
Now maskless, Lumine went the back ways to the arena, entering through a side door, avoiding the still rowdy crowd of spectators gathered for the late night fights. She successfully grabbed her textbook, and walked back out the side door. Straight into somebody.Â
Shit. âExcuse me,â she mumbled, keeping her head down, hoping they wouldnât ask why some little high school girl was sneaking around the underground fighting arena.Â
But then the person spoke.Â
âWow,â a familiar voice said.Â
Lumine looked up, wide eyed. Shitshitshitshitâ
âThis is a surprise,â Childe said, âMadame President.â
