Instead of reading Harry Potter, might I instead recommend The Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer?

​I have loved and looked up to Chris since I was 13 years old because of his role as Kurt Hummel on Glee, both as an actor and a writer; I still adore him to this day because he’s just such an incredible talent and someone I’ve looked up to for nearly half of my life.

Not only are The Land of Stories books really great fantasy books that get better and better with each instalment, not only is Chris a bestselling author, not only is he a Golden Globe winner for his work as an actor on Glee, not only is he a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, but he also supports trans rights!
