Truly the worst Vaugardian plays are the ones where nothing happens, as the characters spend the whole 2 hours sitting about as they talk at each other, all while the audience hasn't the slightest doubt they can be nowhere but hell.

But while hell is definitely other people...in your experience, a hell you're suck in alone, left the only wise one surrounded by fools, is not a better hell. Not better at all.

Loop's wish has different wording, and this makes a few things a little different. Mostly it means the Researcher of the group is now looping, while Stardust remains blissfully ignorant. This is certainly the main difference noticed by Loop, who looks at the evidence before then before assuming they're to play stagehand to the Researcher solving of the mystery in record time.

But roles are tricky. Very nearly tricky as wishes.

"someday soon someone will notice me" and annabeth realizes percy noticed her. the bickering like a married couple. percy singing "is she real?" and then in one of the cut songs annabeth sings the same thing but about him UGH. i may or may not be the #1 pjo musical fangirl.

He cups her cheek and she hates herself a little bit for turning into the touch, for savouring the warmth and the feel of his hand against her skin. It’s been so long since she was last touched with any kind of affection that wasn’t from her dragons. It’s a testament to just how long that she lets him of all people. She squeezes her eyes closed tightly, willing herself to keep the tears at bay.

She’s missed it so much, the feel of someone else’s hands on her body. The comfort of a simple, platonic touch. She has missed the connection, the intimacy, the knowledge that someone cares. Gods, she thinks again, what she wouldn’t give for a simple hug.

“Vi,” he breathes, and there he goes again with the ‘Vi’, breaking down her walls even further. He sounds heartbroken and she can’t quite grasp why. He doesn’t care about her, so why does he suddenly sound like he does?

“I don’t think I’m okay,” she confesses and there’s no amount of squeezing her eyes closed that will hold the tears back now, not when she's finally uttered the truth that she has known intimately for months and months out loud. She feels the tears fall down her cheeks, leaving wet, hot tracks in their wake, like a map of her sadness. It doesn’t take long for his thumb to come up to wipe them away.

“I know,” he says, and there’s none of that brute efficiency or cold detachment she'd come to know from him during the war. His tone is gentle. It’s nothing like she remembers him, nothing like the picture she has of him in her mind. She doesn't know how to reconcile this version of him with the one who's only ever shown her indifference or frustration before.

She thinks that maybe peace time allows some to break down, and others to take care of the pieces that are left in ways that war time never could.

There's flour in Beatrice's hair - on her shirt too, and the front of her shorts and Ava can't help but laugh because as much as she loves Beatrice looking hot and competent, she loves this Beatrice just as much: befuddled and bewildered, eyebrows and eyelashes speckled white as she blinks at the half-exploded bag of flour on their kitchen counter.

When Beatrice turns to look at her, it's with a mischievous look on her face. It's not one that Ava's seen often but it's made more appearances nowadays - now that their days are no longer numbered; now that their days are theirs.

(Days where they're free to lounge on the couch reading or take turns playing video games; days where they take leisurely walks in the sun and rain both. Days spent sharing ice cream while they sit at their favorite bench near the dog park; days spent going through all the recipes in their newest baking book, now also covered in flour.)

Ava squeals when Beatrice lunges at her, barely escaping Beatrice's flour-covered hands. They dash around the kitchen then through the rest of their home, careful of the training staves hanging on the wall, the photos on the shelves, the trinkets they've collected, the life they've built together.

Beatrice eventually catches her, like she always does - and Ava relaxes in her arms, as she always does. Laughs when Beatrice presses a palm to Ava's chest, leaving behind a flour handprint on her shirt. Kisses her before she can do anything more; kisses her because she can; kisses her because they have everything and more.

(2 - college theatre au adjacent?)

Ava finds her.

She always does - it's become easier over the years, but this time of year it's easy because she knows it's hard. Holidays, anniversaries, birthdays - Ava's no stranger to the tide of grief that rises up especially high on days like this, the anger and hurt that make even the steadiest of ships topple in the storm. Many times, Beatrice has been her port; Ava finds her to return the favor.

There's a handful of places Beatrice goes on days like this and with her and Camila's shared apartment plus her favorite library empty, Ava makes her way to the top of her own apartment building, to the corner of the rooftop she and the others had spent a summer cleaning up and made theirs. She finds her because she knows: her, and the likely contents of the letter from her parents Camila said she'd received in the mail.

Beatrice is curled up on the sofa Mary had thrifted, wrapped in a blanket gifted by Lilith. Ava takes a seat on the opposite end, far enough to keep her thoughts to herself if she wants, close enough to touch if she needs. Tips her head back to look at the sky. Counts the stars; breathes.

"There's no shame in it," Ava says eventually, her eyes still tracing the night sky. "Being angry, I mean. You have every right to fight for what you didn't have. Trust me," she whispers - the 'I know' is unsaid.

Ava doesn't turn when she hears a sniffle, a shuffle; keeps still when she feels the cushions shift. Doesn't move until Beatrice has settled into Ava's side, has fit her forehead against her neck and sighed - only then does Ava lift her arms to wrap around her.

She brushes her lips against Beatrice's temple, feels an answering whisper of breath warm her chest.

The 'I know' is unsaid; the 'I'm here' and 'thank you' felt in all the places they touch, in the quiet they hold for each other.

more ramblings that sit in my drafts for an unspecified amount of time before i eventually decide to finish and post them!!! (also sorry if someone has already done an analysis like this i just thought it was an interesting detail)

today I shall go over what I believe the woman that Kazui is seen with in Half is supposed to represent. (+ some general analysis)

This lady is basically the reason why the entire cheating theory existed in the first place, and understandably so. But after his T2 voice drama, Kazui confirms that he never actually cheated (also his wedding ring is. right there. on his finger. man.) If that's the case, then who is this woman? If he didn't cheat, why would a random woman be in his MV? I actually think the answer might not be that complex:

The woman simply represents women.

For one, there are two other side character in the MV besides this lady: Hinako and the bartender. Moreover, both of those characters have a significant difference from the woman: they don't have a full set of facial features.

I personally believe that Kazui views them without eyes because they are people he finds painful to remember. Therefore, the woman still having her eyes visible would mean that she isn’t as significant as Hinako or the bartender.

Moreover, the way the woman is framed has a lot of implications.

The first scene establishes a correlation with the lady and Hinako. Both scenes are framed similarly, and both have Kazui staring at them. (with the same "i'm such an old man. yaoi." look on his face idk how else to describe it) The only difference is that there are two different versions, or sides, of Kazui.

Kazui in the bar, suit and all, has been heavily implied to represent his “true desires”. He's the one that notices Kazui watching from the audience and makes him notice the apple, and the one who appears in the champagne glass in Cat.

Kazui in the house, less dressed-up than bar Kazui, likely represents how he believes he should act. He looks upset over the distance between him and Hinako and he’s the one who's shocked upon realizing his actual feelings.

With this in mind, the transition between both women has implications on the way Kazui views them and in turn how he views women (in terms of his desires vs. what's expected of him.)

The second scenes then implies what it specifically is that both sides of Kazui feels about women.

The first scene starts off with Kazui in the house, staring down at his wedding ring with a sizable distance between him and Hinako.

Then the scene shifts to Kazui in the bar, where the woman is probably drunk, and leaning onto him with possible hints of intimacy. Yet he ends up putting the woman aside.

This is where what the lady possibly represents becomes a bit more clear. Similar to Magritte's art (which Kazui's MVs regularly reference), the woman is not a literal woman, but the representation of a woman. Kazui pushing away the woman as his desired 'true self' could mean he doesn’t feel the need to comply to the expectation of being attracted to or in a relationship with a woman.

Both scenes also contrast each other. The distance between Kazui and either woman as well as the way he reacts to said distance are the opposite. Kazui and Hinako have a considerable gap between them, and he feels guilty for this because of the expectation of being in a (heterosexual) marriage. Despite believing that this is what's 'correct' and what'll lead to happiness, he's still somehow failing.

Kazui and the bar lady have practically no space between them, yet Kazui is able to put her aside because he doesn't feel the need to conform. Even if she's conventionally attractive and is being intimate with Kazui, he quite literally does not give a shit.

Ok this is kinda getting wordy so I shall close off here. tl;dr I personally think the bar lady serves the purpose of symbolizing women, marriage, and maybe even heteronormativity, in order to express Kazui's conflicting views. Maybe I'm actually wrong and she really is an existing person, but uhh hey the themes still hold up in regards to Kazui soooo

(also it's possible that the woman is purposely between him and the bartender in both scenes, because societal norms still get in his way of his actual feelings or smth idk i can't word anymore)

What counts for singing is up to you. I think most people sing some amount, but you can decide if yours counts or not. The reason for this is because you can teach yourself an instrument, so not requiring lessons or anything for either instruments or singing.

If you want to learn an instrument, especially if you don’t currently play any, I would love to know if you shared!
