Hi guys!!! Okay so today is the first Hidden Gem Friday!!! I'm super pumped to be able to do this, I think it's gonna be so much fun. My Thoughts:

WOW Honestly that's my thought with everything Ria writes, but this one is so overlooked!!! It's so short but every word packs an incredibly punch and it's the epitome of quality over quantity. The characterization is perfect, the parallels are so well written. Ah I just love this one

My thoughts:

I love this one so much!!!! It's really well written first of all, and secondly the characterization of Lucas here is so unique!! This is my kind of Lucas, and the thought behind the premise is really interesting. Plus the Jason here is accurate to real Jason and I like that a lot (So many people just make irredeemable monster Jason when like before he went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs he was just your regular small town jock asshole)

Augh I just love the way you write. Something about it is so flowy, like a river or a silk dress. Anyways this is such a sweet little one shot, I always get so eeeeeee over a first kiss, and this was perfect!!!! I have a v similar idea for a story ending that is taking place soon, so great minds lolol but yes amazing show stopping wonderful etc. etc.

My Thoughts:

Okay so I said to myself I would put at least one WIP on this, but then I just read this one and Was going to skim it, but I literally couldn't put it down. It's so fucking good and I got choked up more than once I loved all the characterizations they felt so in synch. There are some spicy bits in this so fair warning, but there's also dad hopper and Wayne and stobin soulmate moments and just AUGH this is amazing it really honestly Is everyone should go read this and the fact that it only has 886 hits is a fucking travesty. I could easily see this as one of the seminal steddie fics tbh.

Okay so I have more about them in my pinned post (along with fics :>) but basically AFWtP (ain’t fucking with the past) (the title is actually an msa lyric fun fact) is about sammy, des, and Nathan when des and Nathan came to visit nathan (and Sammy’s) hometown! (It’s a small town in Kentucky (specifically Dixon, Kentucky, if we’re getting super specific) and the story takes place after this serial killer dude makes a ✨comeback✨ while Nathan and des are in town (me and @crossover-enthusiast have affectionately dubbed him god boi so that’s what I am going to refer to him as)

So some of the characters! The main 3 are Sammy, des, and Nathan (they are my ot3 fr) and some of the other main characters are Sophia (Sammys younger sister) and Al (Sammy’s younger brother) (I have more information about them in my pinned post but feel free to ask me about them I love rambling about AFWtP fr)

So anyways god boi (who sammy and Nathan (and Nico, but he died after being attacked by god boi) (sammy also got attacked by god boi and lost an arm but he lived) (Nathan got separated and that’s probably the only reason him and sammy made it out alive) (also they were like 12 when thins was happening) returned somehow and like. Sammy and Nathan are understandably Panicking and Al is a little shit and reckless and rebellious (affectionate) and sammy is v overprotective of him and he finds this annoying and has no idea why the fuck he’s doing this (also he’s like 12 and is basically identical to sammy at that age and acts a lot like Nico (sammy has called him Nico accidentally a few times when he was upset that Al was doing dangerous things)

Also, Nathan and Des have been dating for about a year at this point (but they’ve known each other since they were 18 and were roommates for a while) and Nathan and Sammy are childhood friends and have been through a lot together (there was romantic tension when they were teens but Nathan didn’t realize he was gay until he was like 20)

Tbh I’m shit at explaining bc I just start rambling (pls read my pinned post it explains AFWtP but like. Actually coherent lmao) (and there’s art AND fics)

I love everything about this. I'll read the first at the end of the masterwork this weekend since I'll be off work. I love the whole show within a story concept, that a lot of dedication to maintain along with AUs (I have AUs that I need to flesh out at some point.)

Keeping up stories with other people is awesome because then you have another brain to bounce ideas off of. Good ideas. Bad ideas. Ridiculously despicable ideas. I love the sheer variety of characters you have and they're super fleshed-out and believable.

Maybe I'm just smitten with stories that start out in the early to mid-2000s.

Some more somewhat spoilery thoughts on PLA. No idea how many hours I've dug into it by now, but it's a lot. Let it be known that I might be mid way now so I'm gonna talk about couple features that haven't been in marketing material. No story related spoilers thou. Just couple character mentions.

I've only just yesterday managed to reach the third area and my my, I am very taken in by the story telling and character. Honestly, Irida, Arezu and Adaman are current favs. They've got quite nice personalities and all.

And the areas are sooooooooooo beautiful and fun to explore. Have also met couple new evolutions and hisuian forms by now and HOLY HECK is that such a fun fun feeling.

I also FINALLY, FRICKING FINALLY have got my hands on my very VERY first Glameow and gosh, do I love Glameow! Been a fan of it since watching DP anime, and after all these years, I finally have a game I enjoy and managed to have Glameow included (it's so far been Sinnoh exclusive completely right? I don't exactly remember if I've ever got a trade in Alola games of it or not. Heh.)

Anyway. Current team consists of Decidueye, Floatzel, Espeon (which I tried evolving into Umbreon but I guess I saw the time of day wrong and it was early morning instead of late night asjhgsjhgfs), Glameow, errrrrr what else what else. Ah, Ponyta aaaaaaand. Wow. I forgot. :---D My brain is fuzzy little shit. Heh. NUMERA! Right! I have Numera in my team atm, since I actually have never used it. Heh.

I've been using tons of other 'mon as well, like Luxray all the way from Shinx, Dustox for a bit, Monferno, just caught Kantonian Vulpix so I miiight replace Ponyta with it just to have variety, dunno yet. Thou Hisuian Growlithe would be new experience. Hmmm :3.

Anyway, I used Croagunk quite a bit too, but due to team variety, I had to bench it ;V; Love me froggo, it's so cute when she sits down waiting for me to speak with her aksjhsjfsf. This game is so darn cute with the littlest details. Like... I've already come to conclusion that my Decidueye and Floatzel are besties and I cannot for the life of me separate them. Hehe.

One thing that surprised me is that, Pikachu and Eevee cries are back to their gamegoy cry days and like... I wonder why they did that. To make the sound design equal between 'mon? As well, Eevee and Pikachu would be super easy to recognize with their PIKAAA and Vui vui sounds, haha.

I've experienced couple Space Time Distortions, collected satchels for friends and random people, haven't died even once (thou I HAVE fully wiped out team wise, I'm just so skittish that I run the heck out the moment things seem dire :D), also witnessed first ever Mass Outbreak yesterday, which I hear has increased chance of shinies, but found none in this one. Maybe I fucked up or something.

Anyway. Been having a blast with Legends Arceus and I am pretty close to declaring this my fav Pokémon game. it's so so much fun. And all the Alola nods and the vibes I get from the cracks in the sky, alpha Pokémon, Noble Pokémon fills me with so so much joy. Also Galar nods :D Just, asjhgjghsf. This game fills me with so many Alola vibes that it makes me happy. And it's still at core a different take on Sinnoh. Heh.

ALSO THE OST IS SO GOOD, like ohmygod I'm declaring it my fav.
