I’ve enjoyed reading your pokemon reviews! If you don’t mind, what are your thoughts on the Kyurem/Reshiram/Zekrom legendaries, and their fusions?
First, I should mention my main problem with these guys before I go into individual designs, which is that honestly? They all kind of blur together in my mind (and no that's not a fusion joke). Maybe I'm the only one with this problem, but the designs all have a similar body shape. Combine that with how abstract they are and the lack of an obvious theme (not saying the ying/yang and ideals/truths themes are bad, mind you), and at the end of the day they all just turn into white noise to me.
I get that they were all one Pokemon once and that's why the designs are similar, but there's just so many of them. I honestly feel like you could've just had one black dragon, one white, both broken, and then the fusion as the third version. But ignoring that and just looking at what we got:
Fun fact: Reshiram is one of only a few Pokemon that are pure white. Most have some other kind of color prominently added to them. Anyway, Reshiram is pretty decent for a legendary, even if it does have some of the business that other legendary designs tend to suffer from. I like the organic look of it a lot, and the overall aesthetic of a dragon/bird/raptor is pretty neat. I'm especially fond of the turbine tail (especially when it lights up with orange) and the pseudo-hands on the wings, kind of like how bats still have a digit up there.
In terms of things I'm not so big on, I really dislike that weird tuft of feathers running up under the body. It's screwing up the flow--the body goes down, but the tuft goes up. It's also completely unnecessary.
And other than that, there are a few details that could be cut down on for clarity's sake. The tuft on top of the head (not the long flowing one, that one's good), the stripes going under the turbine tail bands, the two tufts of feathers on the chest, and the feathers underneath the metal neck bands all could've been cut down on. I like feathers, but you don't need quite that many of them.
Zekrom is okay, but I don't like it as much as Reshiram. The hands being separate from the wings really looses something, and it makes it feel weirdly Digimon-esq. I like the contrast--the colors, the less organic, more mechanical feeling--but it's just less interesting looking. It also has just way too much paneling and extra details, such as the unnecessary joins that connect the wings. At least the hands still look pretty cool though.
I also feel like overdrive mode helps this one a lot, as the blue stripes on the tail really make it pop and make it more memorable:
Still not perfect, but I do remember this form a little more.
I have mixed feelings on Kyurem. On the one hand, it does look appropriately hollow and frozen, and I like the t-rex like body. However, it also (say it with me now) has way too much detail with all the pointless lines over the body (maybe it's supposed to look chiseled?). I'm also not a huge fan of those tubes at the end of the wings, or the weird way said wings connect to the body.
But I guess my main thing is that to me, while this looks frozen and hollow enough, it doesn't read that clearly conceptually. Kyurem here doesn't look broken enough to me. It's missing part of a wing and head spike (and maybe a tail), but I wouldn't notice if I wasn't looking. To me, a Pokemon that's hollow and missing pieces should be missing an eye, an arm, barely have a stump for a tail... you know, make it obvious that it's not complete. The idea seems to be that some of the missing pieces were filled in with ice, but basically what I'm saying is that I'd never guess Kyurem was supposed to be missing and fractured just from the design.
The other weird thing about this line conceptually is that these three were all one Pokemon. However, when you combine two of them, which should get you a more complete dragon, you instead get a much more broken and incoherent mess than either of the two separately, which makes no sense.
Just looking at the fusion designs themselves, they're pretty much a mess. I think the big problem here are the giant ice chunks, which throw what good elements the designs have going for them. Wasn't the idea that Kyurem was only frozen because it was missing parts? Shouldn't the ice have gone away or at least been more naturally integrated?
White Kyurem has a neat velociraptor-ish look to it with the middle claws and feathered arms, the ice and yellow bits completely mess up the upper body and throw the flow off. If it was just the grey and white, it could've been okay. Also, that crotch piece still really bothers me.
Black Kyurem has a really weird looking face due the lack of ice for the teeth to align to. I don't get why the grey on the neck doesn't connect to the underside, there are still way too many lines, and it's weird how many parts are filled in with ice here (what happened to Zekrom's arm exactly?). The tail and arms look kind of neat, but that's about it.
Overall, Reshiram's the best of the bunch. This line just really suffers from the fusion ideas not being as clear as they could be and massively overcomplicated designs that just look like a mess, especially when fused.
As a side note, Gamefreak, show us the fully fused dragon. Why would you state that these three were all one dragon and then never show us it. At least put it in a future Pokemon Legends game if you make more or something.

Pokemon Legends Ideas
speaking of pokemon though...
ideas for the various Pokemon Legends remake line:
Pokemon Legends: The Ancient Jungle/Mew
Based on an ancient jungle environment where fossil and dinosaur pokemon thrive an abound, the environment is thick muggy jungle and the lore of the game focuses on the discovery of the ancient pokemon Mew perhaps by following clues related to the origins of Ditto as potentially related to Mew, side stories about the origins of the legendary bird pokemon (also, even though Lugia is gen 2, perhaps he could be included here since hes the supposed leader of the bird trio? and the Johto game would focus on Ho-oh and the Beasts anyway) Mewtwo obivously wouldn’t feature but that’s fine he doesn’t need to, could easily have stories about Meltan and Melmetal instead, who are ancient pokemon
Pokemon Legends: The Burned Tower/Ho-oh
Based on a more traditional ancient Japanese style retelling of the origins of Ho-oh and the Legendary Beast trio, see the original tower burned, maybe finally see who exactly were the three original pokemon lost in the flames? with side stories about Celebi’s ancient forest and it’s travels through time but also GIVE ME UNOWN LORE BLEASE
Pokemon Legends: The Great Meteor/Jirachi
Goes into the ancient stories of the draconid people introduced in the delta episode of the ORAS remakes, Primal Ancient Kyogre and Groudon, at the peak of their power, a time where meteors constantly fell upon the earth and the first ever Mega-Evolution of Rayquaza, from the wish the first lorekeeper made upon the rainbow stone (Maybe this was originally just Jirachi themselves), plenty of side story content in the form of the Regi’s (Including Regigigas and Regidraco/Regieleki) and the twin Latias/Latios
Pokemon Legends: Arceus, duh
(but I can hope it’s not JUST Arceus, ples give some spotlight to the tons of underused in lore legendaries this gen, Darkrai, Cresselia, Shaymin, Manaphy, HEATRAN)
Pokemon Legends: The First Dragon/Kyurem/??? Pokemon that might have a different name then Kyurem
OBVIOUSLY gonna be about the first dragon, the true singular form of the original dragon that split into Kyurem, Reshiram and Zekrom and the conflict between the early factions of humans hinted from the story of black and white, give the Justice trio (Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, Keldeo) some side story content in the form of being active in those ancient human conflicts, Victini lore, the weather trio representing the wilderness of nature back in those times, Genesect very likely wouldn’t be a thing, but Meloetta could
Pokemon Legends: The Ultimate Weapon/Zygarde
Huge potential here for a pokemon game set during the great kalosian WAR, view the original stories of King AZ and the unique floette, how their story happened, give Zygarde some sort of role or function as antagonist against those who would create the weapon out of a captured Zerneas/Yveltal in it’s role as balancer of the natural order, easy easy side content stories, flesh out Diancie’s connection to the Carbinks, go into the story of that huge crystal sundial of Anistar City, Hoopa gots some cool stuff, and Volcanion could even have a role as something cool
Pokemon Legends: Ultra Space/Necrozma
While they could focus on Magearna for this game, since Magearna is the only pokemon with some Ancient Lore from within the region itself attached to it from this gen, I fell like Sun and Moon’s fancy legends game would actually be better served by exploring much deeper into the role of the Ultra Space, you get glimpses of the alien worlds when visiting the ultra beasts natural habitats, and you get the main Necrozma based city in ultraspace
Modern Alola is actually already very traditional, already holding fast to ancient observations and traditions that going back to plain olden times alola I feel wouldn’t do as much? Esp cuz all the interesting stuff back then the aura and totem Pokémon, all happened because of Necrozma’s fall into the world from Ultra Space
I think the intro would be best served as starting in the distant past of Alola sure, but then Necrozma falls out of Ultra Space, rips open a wormhole, and our protagonist is then Sucked Into it and their journey is throughout the cosmos of the space inbetween and giving legendary like lore to the actual Ultra Beasts themselves, Lunala and Solgaleo and Cosmog/Cosmoem originate from here anyway, so they could still be included in this story as our way back, perhaps as our original ally in the fight to stop Necrozma from devouring all the light of our world in the travels through ultra space
Marshadow and Zeraora should get some obvious love as well for sure
Pokemon Legends: The Darkest Day/Eternatus
So it’s true that we have a clear once a time story with the darkest day event from Eternatus’s history
but funnily enough, I kinda always figured that that “Darkest day” was actually Necrozma’s doing that got falsely attributed to Eternatus, since yknow, in eating of the light of the world, the day would actually darken, and doesn’t Eternatus look REALLY like something that popped out of an Ultra Wormhole? really makes you think...certainly would be a hell of a coincedence
On the flipside for “okay but what else would they do in ancient galar”, I feel like if they did do a Galar Legends game, I think a pokemon King Arthur type legendary story would be very cool, just legit make a pokemonized King Arthur/Calyrex story and we would go Nuts over it
sooo, Pokemon Legends: The Old Kingdom/Calyrex
obviously Calyrex and his steeds would be the main focus of this ancient tale with some sprinklings of Zacian/Zamazenta, but really when you glean through the ancient stories hidden in the galar, more of it focuses on the Acnient Kings of the galar region, and really Eternatus already got explored enough in the actual galar games anyway, give me the Dark Hidden Lore of Galar
but again, still some very cool side content with Zarude and Urshifu at least and perhaps maybe a tad more of the cuckoo galarian bird trio? make it tie all the way back to Legends Kanto game somehow? Ancient bird rivalry between twin trios of legendary birds would be a neat thing to explore
though how neat would it be if they actually tied all fo the ancient apolcalyptic stories from across the regions into one connected story?
in Hoenn it was that a great meteor threatened to destroy the planet so person wishes on a falling shiny rock to make the apocalypse go away, SunMoon has Necrozma darkening the sky and eating the light and when they got shattered it caused powerful shiny rocks to coalesce out of the sky, SwordShield had twin kings wish upon a magic shiny rock to make the darkest day go away
hey wait a minute, seeing a pattern there...
wonder if the great war of kalos old was also fought under some sky darkening event? and if it also involved the magical power of some shiny rock? and each region’s story is just their personal twist on the same ancient event, in the land of old, when all regions were once one...
what if the ancient conflict in Black/White’s history was actually the same war from kalos’s history? And it was actually a war between Unova and Kalos? Same war from two different sides of the conflict
#Pokemon#Pokemon Legends#Pokemon Legends Arceus#we have fertile ground for this new line of pokemon games yall

Ending of The Fall/From Grace
Thought I’d finally throw up my ending character arcs and stuff and do some final housekeeping here like a whole year after the fact lmao
So Leaf... I uhh... Looked at Daenerys and thought, “hey what if I pushed that righteousness the wrong way and made her do something really questionable and pushed her into the realm of villainy and looked to people for reactions!” -- Sees reaction to Game of Thrones s8 Me; Well I just... really dodged a bullet there, didn’t I?
Anyway
Leaf was, in Unova, going to do her thing for a bit, she was going to be dismissed from championship because of it in her absence, having her old friend from Johto take the spot. Kanto and Johto more or less bicker about who gets to be the champion with neither region being pleased to have a “foreign” person on the seat. But before that happens she does see to it that the Sevii islands get their own league instead of being stuck in the Kanto vs Johto battle for Indigo Plateau. She also then takes her release from duty to expose all the criminal and terrible activity in the League- her own actions and those of other people as she no longer has anything to lose (as far as she cares). When En has the Shadow Triad abduct her to the whatever electric cave. She comes in contact with the black stone of ideals and she is actually the one that triggers Zekrom’s release, but it’s slow because by contact with it I mean En held it out to her and asked her to be his queen and she took it from him and threw it in a general direction. She thinks that she could be a hero of the white dragon Reshiram, but John says no, it’s Iris. And he’s right. Iris is the hero they needed and deserved. Those dragons are true to their original people. (i just really feel like the hero should be indigenous) And Charlie’s role in the story was to exist and not become bitter and jaded like Leaf did in spite of it all. And realize that sometimes, it’s not on you to be the hero of the story.
Leaf was then going to contact Giovanni in prison- going rogue and taking only Avalon with her and leaving Arnold (and her past idealism behind her) And to Giovanni ask what purpose he had in Kanto; “You once told me that a child could never understand what you hoped to do. I’m not a child anymore.” And Giovanni sees someone who just needs a push over the edge to share his goal.... and that would have lead to a 3rd nuzlocke back in kanto many years later to visit the idea of Kanto legendaries; one of which a poison type legendary that was the source of the grim dark wasteland vibes.
And John Seymour; He survives the dragon battle- on the field being a physical shield protecting Iris as she commanded the dragon. Leaf goes missing in action leaving Arnold behind. He doesn’t want to go back to Kanto- he doesn’t like it there. And so he and Danny actually move to Sinnoh and ya boi sort of retires until she comes back (3-5 years later). Sam and Daisy are in charge of the Ranger base in Kanto in his absence and when he returns (him just making sure people are accepting). Leaf comes back, Arnold passes away, they move back to Kanto. Leaf goes back to Indigo Plateau, beats the champion (Noah) and then pulls a Kiyoshi in a sense and uses the pokemon of her team to make a new league and she and the Rangers see to pokemon and people living as equals as much as possible. Still rocky relationship with Leaf in some aspects- she never really forgives him for leaving her to take care of her mother, who also suffered from PTSD symptoms, alone. John still mostly in retirement... And then is called in to protect June, who is established as a source of political discord as other regions are not comfortable with Kanto having this ally of mass destruction (rightfully so) and Mew has always sought to destroy this legendary that was not meant to be.
And that is how he dies- Mew comes for June, he gets in the way to protect her
Which then would have triggered some uhhh fun stuff with Leaf. She goes after Mew. She starts putting the plan of Giovanni’s back into play... Team Red. She’s much subtler about it and far more powerful. And she knows how to work around the Rangers. She successfully captures Mew (something Jon could have done, but never wanted to remove Mew from the natural surroundings as it is a huge risk). She does not go to the legendaries however after meeting her girlfriend-to be wife. Softens back up and just sits on that card she has.
And then yea she awakens the big bad legendary of Kanto that’s basically the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse in one dragon for the sole purpose... of destroying it with Mew, who she then frees. And it was basically going to end with a big author shrug of “she did what she felt she had to, but was it really necessary? or did she do what she wanted to do?”
but that’s it
That was my edgy nuzlocke plot which was hilariously similar and probably would have been as well received as the last season of GoT /dabs

@em-exceeds-change-zearu --- Hope you don’t mind, but I wanted to respond to your tags in a new post since the original post was long enough as it was, haha!
#also i love all of these picks and the thought that went into them #and that he has a varied team that's flexible and can take on tons of things #ALSO I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T MENTION ZEKROM #I WAS DREADING A RED EYES BLACK DRAGON REDUX WITH ZEKROM #(even if zekrom and reshiram are huge walking red eyes and blue eyes jokes)
See, it’s because I put a lot of thought into it that I didn’t mention Zekrom! Zekrom doesn’t work for the Red-Eyes Black Dragon at all (and ditto for Reshiram with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon)!
From a visual standpoint, I get why the comparisons were made. Zekrom is a black dragon with red eyes, and Reshiram is a white dragon with blue eyes. But that’s where the similarities end. While monsters in YGO have only very loose elemental associations, the fact still remains that the Red-Eyes Black Dragon is a fire dragon, while the Blue-Eyes White Dragon is an electric dragon. We see this in their attacks. The Red-Eyes Black Dragon’s attack is Black Fire Bullet (JP) / Inferno Fire Blast (EN), while the Blue-Eyes White Dragon’s attack is Burst Stream of Destruction (JP) / White Lightning (EN). “Burst Stream of Destruction” isn’t specifically electric, but it isn’t fire, either, and the look of it certainly looks electrical whenever it attacks (which is likely what led to 4Kids naming the attack what they did). Either way, these attacks make it clear in both the manga (JP) and the anime (EN) that Red-Eyes is a fire dragon while Blue-Eyes is an electric dragon.
But with Zekrom and Reshiram, that’s reversed. Zekrom is Electric/Dragon, while Reshiram is Fire/Dragon. Their types do not match up with the YGO dragons at all. And while some might say that’s a minor quibble, it really isn’t. Jounouchi is pretty heavily associated with fire, even setting Red-Eyes aside. Just off the top of my head:
The yo-yo he was pictured with in the cover art for chapters 48/49 was a “Fireboy” yo-yo;
He defeated Chopperman by setting him on fire with the candle + oil combo;
One of his most memorable cards is Flame Swordsman (though him saying it was his favorite card was an anime invention, but nonetheless);
He stayed behind with Yuugi during the fire at the Black Crown and made it out with only minor injuries;
When he got to name an attack during his duel with Malik, he named it “Jounouchi Fire”;
The God card he’s most heavily associated with is Ra, and Ra is the one that uses flames to attack (versus Osiris’ wind and Obelisk’s lightning);
Speaking of, he survived Ra’s flames at first brush (he died a few minutes later, true, but even that was only temporary)
Jounouchi is pretty heavily associated with a fire motif, and so it makes sense that his signature dragon would be a fire dragon, rather than an electric one. And likewise, Kaiba seems to be associated with lightning and electricity far more than he is with fire. Kaiba is all about technological advancement, is always surrounded by computers, robots, and the latest technology that he himself invented. The God card that he’s associated with, Obelisk, is one that has lightning spark around its fists when it attacks. It makes sense that his dragon is an electric one, rather than a fire one. Switching that around by associating Jounouchi with Zekrom and Kaiba with Reshiram is a huge mistake. It doesn’t fit at all.
Moreover, the thing about legendary pokémon is that most of them come with a stronger meaning associated with them. They’re cool looking and have types, yes, but each of them also usually symbolize something, or have something they watch over, protect, or stand for. For Zekrom, that’s ideals (and fighting for one’s ideals), and with Reshiram, that’s truth (and fighting for the truth). While Jounouchi can be an idealistic person, what Zekrom actually looks for in its champion is someone who wants to push their ideals onto others, to lead the world with them, and that’s not Jounouchi. Jounouchi doesn’t want to push his ideals onto others; he lives his own way and that’s that. Likewise, Kaiba’s not really concerned with the truth outside of how it benefits him, and he’s not opposed to flat out ignoring or denying it when it doesn’t, so I don’t think Reshiram would choose him as a champion either, haha.
So yeah, I saw no reason to bring up Zekrom. The Red-Eyes Black Dragon is represented by shiny charizard, and that’s that.
#i also didn't consider sivally/silvuddy at all!!! #but considering that it's literally named...silver buddy... #(gladion you fucking nerd) #it's perfect #the nickanme is perfect #he would approve #maybe silvuddy is something he gets in duelist kingdom? #like. in pegasus' basement or something #but this is pokemon world and you mentioned gladion existing in this crossover canon so HMM. MMM. #I'M STUCK ON HOW HE GETS IT TOO
I did imagine this as taking place in the Pokémon World, yeah, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t adapt Duelist Kingdom as well. All we have to do is make it pokémon battles instead of Duel Monsters duels. So Pegasus owns an island with a castle, and he decides to host his own battle tournament on his island (that takes place over a more reasonable span of time than just two days). Maybe entrants have to collect star badges instead of star chips, or maybe it is star chips if badges would get him in trouble with the local League. In any case, he has his own unofficial, not-government-sanctioned tournament, and it’s very much like Duelist Kingdom except everyone has real monsters and therefore people like Mai and Bandit Keith have a much harder time cheating than they did in the actual canon.
(Well, Gladion doesn’t have to exist in the crossover canon, haha. It’s just an idea I threw out there. I don’t know if any relationship I could invent for him would be as fun to write as the one I had between him and Alan, so it’s not like I’m very attached to the idea of him existing in this story.)
#...oooh #kaiba imports it into his Tower Of Death scenario because he paid big monies to Aether Foundation #jou ends up taking it back #the same way how in other trials they utilized things that belonged to their enemies against them #(maybe replace the stupid ride of fear part with it BECAUSE HONESTLY THAT WAS THE LOW PART OF THE TOWER. IT WAS STUPID.)
Hmm, that could work! Although honestly it might make more sense for Kaiba Corporation to have created Type: Null. Kaiba spared absolutely no expense when it came to creating Death-T, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that:
According to the currency converter I use, in 1996 (when this was written / would take place), ¥10,000,000,000 would be $87,989,745.57. Kaiba spent eighty-seven million dollars to build a theme park to kill Yuugi with. Money was not an issue for him whatsoever.
But that said, Type: Null seems like the type of creature Kaiba Corporation would have created, particularly if they existed within the Pokémon world. Maybe not so much once Kaiba takes over and turns it into a gaming company, but back when it was still a company for developing military weapons? The concept of pokémon being created as weapons is not at all foreign to the series (Mewtwo and Genesect being two prime examples), and I could see Gozaburo wanting to top all of them by creating a chimera that replicated the powers of Arceus. So maybe Type: Null had already been created and cryogenically frozen, and Kaiba released one of them in the hopes that they’d be able to kill Yuugi and the others. That could work. That said, I did really like Chopperman as Jounouchi’s personal challenge, particularly since he knows it’s a trap and walks into it anyway because he feels it’s the right thing to do (what a Gryffindor), so yeah, replacing the horror ride would definitely be preferable, particularly since how sexualized that scene was re: how the ride groped Anzu was unnecessary and gross and hands down the worst part of Death-T. :/
#(I HATE TRISTAN'S BRAT COUSIN HE HAD NO REASON TO BE THERE AND ONLY EXISTED TO MAKE TROUBLE) #(I APPRECIATED THAT HE VAPORIZED INTO NONEXISTENCE AFTER THAT ARC. BYE BINCH)
Haha, Jouji is his nephew, actually! Honda was on babysitting duty for his big sister that day. I will say that I do like the fact that Jouji exists purely because it lets us know that Honda has a big sister, and I’ve actually utilized that by fleshing her out into a character for a few fics I’ve written (including my magnum opus), which makes me somewhat attached to her. That said, we don’t actually need that, because Honda brings her up again when he brings clothes for Shizuka to wear when he picks her up from the hospital:
(Sorry for the scan quality, it’s the best I can do right now. Also, the “I don’t know if they’ll look good on you” --- that’s VIZ being kind of loose with the translation. In the original Japanese what he says is more like, “I don’t know if they’ll suit you,” which makes sense given Shizuka is far more demure than what Honda’s sister is implied to be like, given her taste in clothes.)
This little mention here is actually part of why I characterized her the way I did when I wrote her; that she wore “loud” clothes when she was younger spoke to a punkish style of dress, and in my mind, attitude therefore. Either way, though, Jouji is the first way we find out that Honda has an older sister, and that happens much earlier than this, so I guess that’s at least a little good he brings to the story.
Still, though, I agree with you overall, haha. I don’t like Jouji as a character at all. I don’t like the toilet humor during the horror game ride (though that still wasn’t as bad as the ride itself groping Anzu), I don’t like how he’s perverted as a baby, and I don’t understand how old he’s supposed to be. He seems like he should only be a year or so old, but if that’s true, how can he talk that well? How can he understand more mature concepts? It feels like he should have been at least five or six, but then I suppose he wouldn’t have been able to be carried around . . . ugh. Either way, he didn’t really bring anything of merit or value to Death-T. The closest we got was that he was the bait to lure Jounouchi in, and I liked that because, again, Jounouchi knew that it was a trap, but he walked into it anyway because he felt it was the Right thing to do, both because Jouji had helped them once before, and because Jouji was a baby. (And there’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment right before the games actually start where Honda is trying to get Jouji to shut up, and Jounouchi says, “Don’t make him cry!” Jounouchi really does have a soft spot for kids, aww. It’s the big brother in him, probably.) Plus, the fact that Jounouchi won that literal fight to the death while holding a baby in his arms is nothing short of badass, and I’ll never take any badass moments away from him. ♥
But yeah, Jouji was a worthless trash character, lmao. There’s a reason why, although I’ve written Honda’s older sister, I haven’t actually written Jouji. I’ve no use for that annoying thing.
#emexceedschangezearu#long post for ts#yugioh#meta#yeah so idk if I ever shared this but the love triangle with Shizuka? does not exist in the manga#neither Honda nor Otogi have feelings for her in the manga lmao#which is nice considering she's a junior high student (~13) and they're high schoolers (Honda is probably ~17 at this point since he's#the oldest of the bunch)#the fact that Honda literally wanted Shizuka to wear his older sister's clothes is the biggest sign he didn't have a#crush on her in the manga lmao. who dresses their crush like their sister?? no one#but the anime decided to rip this out and throw a weird and annoying love triangle in. SIGH.#it's also a waste because manga!Otogi >>>>> anime!Otogi imo#i far prefer awkward tsundere Otogi over flirty playboy Otogi#''I-I WAS JUST IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD . . . I-IT'S NOT LIKE I WANT TO BE FRIENDS OR ANYTHING!!!" <- actual manga!Otogi dialogue#anyway this is off-topic. i'll be quiet now

Top 3 Legendary Pokemon: Silvally - Zekrom - Giratina
(Honorable Mentions: Xerneas - Zygarde Original Form - Lunala)
Keep in mind, I am going to do a seperate list for Mythical Pokemon.
I’ve gushed about Type: Null/Silvally before on this blog, but in summary, I love it to bits and I think it’s amazing and glorious and I love its bond with Gladion and it reminds me of Trico and I love everything about it *flails* It’s not even confirmed as a Legendary, technically, but probably is, and how else would you categorize it, really? Not sure. But I want a game where I can start off with Type: Null as a starter, instead of simply getting them post-game. Also I want a plushie. Ok ahem anyway.
Zekrom is my second favorite. After Red/Blue, Pokemon Black/White was my favorite Pokemon game. The title dragons (Zekrom/Reshiram) play a major role in the plot, of course, especially with Lord N, and as such, they left a big impact on me. I like the Yin/Yang they were going for, but Zekrom is definitely my favorite design of the two. Not to mention a wicked cool typing. I have a huge fondness for him.
Giratina is another awesome dragon Legend (and another awesome typing combo). I never cared much for Dialga and Palkia, but Giratina? It’s involved in a super-memorable and fantastic bit of plot in Platinum. He’s based on anti-matter and the Distortion World is so damn cool, and I think it’s all done a million times better than Bacon Bird’s (Yveltal) attempts at being a diety of destruction. Giratina is genuinely spooky and impressive, and exciting to pursue and face.
I’ve also included a few honorable mentions here:
Xerneas is included purely from a design standpoint and for the basic idea behind it. Its involvement in plot is pretty boring, so nothing memorable there. But it’s a really really neat deer-god of life thing, and it has a fuckin’ amazing move (Geomancy), and it’s so preeeeeetty.
Zygarde is cool too (I’ve already made my feelings about the other one, Yveltal, clear enough, lol), because to me, it looks like a Legendary flatworm. I have no idea if it’s truly based on a flatworm, but in my heart, it is. And I love the heck out of that. I was super bummed when they added new Forms to Zygarde. They are nowhere near as cool, and to me, he should always be a cool dragon flatworm thing, darnit. It is unfortunate how it’s basically just dumped on you post-game, though, without nary a plot point to hang it on.
Lunala is also a beautiful design. I, of course, went with Moon version, because I am more of a night person and because I love the Legendary design. Bats are awesome, and ghost bats/moon dieties are even cooler.
This is a repost on a new blog. The original post was on Feb 23, 2017.

(Ferriswheelshipping) Awakened Emotions Chapter 1
Hello guys! I'm starting a new White x N story. At first I couldn't decide to keep her name Touko from the Japanese version or not but I decided on White. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy the story and please review or PM! I love feedback and constructive criticism is also appreciated so I can become better.
At the beginning of their final battle at his castle, N couldn't have been more sure of his ideals. Pokemon and people are better off separated. After all, he thought that he wouldn't have gotten this far and gained the favor of the legendary Pokemon Reshiram if his ideals weren't what the world should be shaped into.
But, White had also gained the favor of the legendary Zekrom, and her ideals were completely different than his. But he wanted to show her and the world how it should be. He wanted his Pokemon friends to be free of the abuse many trainers inflicted upon their Pokemon and he wanted them to have the ability to roam free like they were supposed to before trainers captured them and treated them like slaves for battle and power. He had heard one too many Pokemon cry in pain while in battle as their trainers forced them to do their bidding. N was included in this, and it broke his heart each time his beloved Pokemon were injured in battle in the war for Pokemon liberation. But he hoped his Pokemon friends would be able to hold out a little longer so they could assure the future happiness of all other Pokemon so they could finally be free. If his team brought him victory, he knew he would release them so they could finally be free too. He hated using his team but it was the only way he could in order to free Pokemon once and for all.
Sure, a few times N had doubted his ideals a bit. But only when it came to White. When she battled with her Pokemon against him, her Pokemon were so happy to be fighting for her. He heard their thoughts of enjoyment and excitement for the battle, and he heard their determination they had in order to please their trainer they loved so much. He had thought to himself a few times that he wouldn't mind too much if all trainers were like White.
But it wasn't a perfect world. Most of the trainers abused their Pokemon and pushed them above their limits in order to satisfy themselves and assert power. They didn't care about their Pokemon and used them as tools. Some of the Pokemon owned by trainers yearned for escape and release, but would always be sucked back into their prison of a Pokeball. N had heard their thoughts of despair as they were forced to go back into their ball and their yearning cries to be free echoed in his mind as reminded him of his mission again. He felt sorry for White, she was a truly magnificent trainer who treated her Pokemon well. But he thought that even White with her Pokemon whom she had a deep relationship with would probably be better off in nature where they belonged.
The battle between White and N rages on in the castle, and they were evenly matched at first. He had smirked at her, knowing his determination and ideals couldn't be beaten. After all, he thought his ideal was truly in the right place. She wanted Pokemon to be continued to be imprisoned by trainers and she wanted Pokemon to continue to battle and fight. Although she was a strong and determined girl, he believed his love for Pokemon would allow him to triumph in victory.
However, their battle began to go downhill for N. With his first few moves, he thought he had the advantage, but he was dead wrong. He had simply gotten lucky, and she was now decimating his Pokemon friends he loved so much. They fainted, one by one, falling over with a whimper of apology to N as they blacked out.
I'm sorry, Lord N. I am not strong enough… Zoroark collapses onto the ground, heaving and fighting to stay awake after he had just received a big attack from White's Pokemon.
N rushed to his fainting Zoroark and held him in his arms.
"Don't be sorry, you did all you could..." N whispers to his fallen friend as Zoroark faints in his arms.
A single tear escapes his eye as he returns the fainted Zoroark to his Pokeball.
N shakes his head to himself, his black and white cap covering his eyes.
Zoroark, you are plenty strong enough. It is only me to blame for all this. If I was stronger,
Pokemon would all be free and happy… But I haven't lost yet… There's still a chance!
He lifts his cap up above his eyes so he can see again and sees White staring at him across the battlefield with a strange expression. She seemed distraught and upset, which N found quite strange.
She should be happy… She is destroying my team and her ideal is proving to be stronger than mine…
Watching N from across the battlefield, White's emotions were a jumbled mess. Although she wanted to win this battle and prove Pokemon and people should be able to be together, she felt horrible for N. She had watched the heartbreaking scene unfold where N held his beaten up Zoroark close with tears glistening in his cloudy blue eyes, and she felt her heart break for this boy too. She thought he was such a kind motivated individual who truly loved Pokemon and White would have loved to be friends with N if their situation had not been so complicated. If they hadn't been pitted against each other in a deciding battle, she thinks she would have been able to be great friends with him. She honestly didn't really want this battle to happen, but she knew it was inevitable or else Team Plasma would steal more Pokemon regardless of what she did.
N does not know why she seems so sad, but averts his attention to his final Pokeball. He holds it in his hand, running his thumb across it. He remembers his Pokemon friends who had fallen before him, and determination burned throughout him again. He wasn't going to let White win. Pokemon deserved better than that. If he lost, he would fail every Pokemon in the region. He would fail his father he worked so hard to please… He would fail everything.
"You're my last friend… Do your best, Reshiram!" He tosses his final Pokeball into the field.
He had saved the legendary dragon Pokemon for last. He knew deep inside that they would come to victory together and Pokemon would finally be free. Reshiram appears from its Pokeball, its huge body causing the entire castle to shake as it landed on the ground. White had stumbled a lot nearly falling over from the huge earthquake Reshiram had caused just from being sent in.
Ugh… I can't get intimidated! I need to send in Zekrom! He's the only one who can fight the legendary dragon.
White adjusts her cap, not allowing herself to be daunted by the massive fire breathing dragon standing only a few yards away from her. N was grinning, thinking that seeing her flustered and clumsy for once was a bit endearing. She was usually so confident and he hardly ever saw her make any mistakes. He furiously shook his head back and forth to himself. He shouldn't have any positive feelings towards her, she wanted to crush his dreams and imprison Pokemon in balls. He looks up to Reshiram, who is patiently awaiting his orders. White had just thrown in her Zekrom and the weight of the second dragon shakes the castle again, and he hears columns from the castle crumble behind him.
He pours all of his determination into his next command. "Reshiram, use Fusion Flare!" His voice rings strong and clear throughout the massive castle. He wondered to himself, if that was really his voice. It sounded so commanding, much like a king. A bit like his father, which N didn't like the resemblance he heard.
N bit the inside of his lip, willing the attack to hit as he watched Reshiram open its mouth to release the attack. Across the field, White's Zekrom braced itself for the attack. Reshiram released the giant fireball from it's mouth, and the fireball flew across the castle, heading straight for Zekrom.
White has to think fast, the fireball was soaring across the room. "Zekrom, dodge and use Bolt Strike!"
Zekrom roars in acknowledgment and tries to fly out of the way, but the huge fireball manages to graze the left side of his wing, burning it. Zekrom roars again in pain. The remainder of the fireball zings past White, nearly touching her. She cries out in surprise, and N is scared for a moment that she had gotten hurt, but was glad to see after a moment to see she was just fine. Zekrom fires the Bolt strike, the huge ball of energy and electricity zipping towards Reshiram.
"Reshiram, dodge!" Reshiram attempts to fly out of the path, but it wasn't fast enough. The Bolt Strike hits Reshiram and zaps its entire body as N cries out in pain of seeing his Pokemon friend hurt. The dragon roars and attempts to move, but the static left behind from the bolt has paralyzed it, and it can only shriek fiercely, unable to move.
N gasps, knowing this wasn't good. If Reshiram was paralyzed, it wouldn't be able to dodge any attacks. "Reshiram, fusion bolt!" He had hoped the Pokemon would be able to overpower the sparks, but Reshiram lets out a long cry of frustration as it is still paralyzed. It tugged at N's heartstrings to see the poor Pokemon unable to move.
White smirks, knowing the battle was now in her hands. "It's over, N! Zekrom, Use Bolt Strike!"
Zekrom lets out another Bolt Strike, and the poor Reshiram can do nothing but allow itself to be hit as it roared and roared in frustration as it tried to move. The bolt hits Reshiram square on, and the dragon faints upon impact.
N falls to his knees, a cry escaping from his lips.
Reshiram… No… It can't be… It's all over…
He returns the fallen Reshiram to his Pokeball as White also returns her Zekrom. N is still on his knees, staring down at the floor in defeat. He hears the loud rumbles from his castle as it begins to fall apart from the battles between the dragon.
It's falling apart… Everything is falling apart… A loose column from his castle falls over in the corner of the room, as if cementing his thoughts.
White began to rush to N just as the huge wooden castle doors open, causing her to halt in the middle of her tracks. Ghetsis appears from behind the door, his face twisted in absolute malice. He quickly makes his way to N, who is still on his knees.
"YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT!" Ghetsis punches N in the face, and N still continues to stare at the floor, like the punch hadn't even happened. White gasps and doesn't know how to remedy the situation. Ghetsis growled, not liking his punch going unnoticed, even though N's jaw was quickly growing red from it. "YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A FAILURE. I SHOULD HAVE JUST LEFT YOU ON THE STREETS LIKE THE GARBAGE YOU ARE!" Ghetsis averts his furious gaze over to White, who is shaking in terror from the horrible man. "YOU LET THIS LITTLE BITCH BEAT YOU? I'LL BEAT HER AND PUT THIS WHORE IN HER PLACE!" Ghetsis looks back to N for any sort of response, but N is still on his knees like nothing had happened..
Finally, N whispers in a broken voice, "Father, please don't hurt her-" He was broken off mid sentence by the violent Ghetsis. "YOU THINK AFTER THIS SHIT YOU DESERVE TO CALL ME FATHER? ACTUALLY, YOU NEVER DESERVED IT. I NEVER ONCE THOUGHT OF YOU AS MY SON!" Ghetsis shakes his head furiously back and forth. "I raised you to perfection, you were to be the placeholder king that people would follow as I took over the world. But you couldn't even manage to beat this woman!"
N's already shattered heart breaks into even smaller pieces at this. He knew his father was not always happy with him, but he thought that after all he had done that Ghetsis would at least consider N his son.
Ghetsis ignores his broken son and angrily stomps towards White, his Pokeballs in hand. "Now, Battle me! I'll show you who the real leader of Team Plasma is! N was nothing but a pawn in my game to lure the legendary dragon… But he was still useless even in the end! I should have just left him where I found him." Ghetsis laughs insanely to himself as he throws his first Pokemon to the battlefield, not even giving White a moments notice. White throws in her Pokemon, having no other choice then to finish everything once and for all.
"White… No…" N whispers in a hoarse voice. He knew how strong his father was, and White's Pokemon were still damaged from their previous battle. But he could only watch as the intense fight unfolded between Ghetsis and White.
In the end, White was able to just barely defeat Ghestis. They couldn't stay in the castle much longer, it was falling apart from the inside out from all the crazy battles. Ghetsis had roared in defeat and called in his grunts.
"Grunts, get me out of this dump!" Ghetsis cries in anger. Many Plasma guards rush in. "But sir, shouldn't we bring our lord N with us as well?"
Ghetsis slaps the grunt in the face. "He is not fit to be the king of Team Plasma. I have no more use for him. Let's leave the garbage where it belongs and get the hell out of this place!" He barks out several more orders and in a few moments all of Team Plasma had evacuated the crumbling castle, leaving no one except for White and N. White wanted to chase after the grunts, but she figured the rest of the gym leaders and everyone else who had met up there would be able to take care of them. She was more worried about helping N first. He still hadn't moved...
N was still on his knees, in the same pose he had been in since White defeated him. The look on his face was heartbreaking. It was of a man whom had lost everything. Another rock falls from the castle nearby as White shakes N on the shoulder. "N… We need to get out of here, it isn't safe. The castle is falling apart."
Why does she care about my well being? Doesn't she hate me? I wanted to separate her from her precious Pokemon...My ideals were everything she hated. I lost the battle of truth and ideals, so I must be wrong. She is the true hero, and she has proven how the world is supposed to be. I should crumble and fall apart along with my castle.
He doesn't respond to her, lost in his own thoughts. She shakes his shoulder again from behind, more urgent this time as another column from the castle falls down. "N, we need to go now! I'm not leaving you here! It's dangerous!"
N speaks up in his broken voice. "Why does my well being matter to you? Don't you hate me? You should continue on your journey and get out of here while you still can… I have been proven wrong. You have shown me in battle that your ideals of Pokemon as companions is the right one."
She walks around to the front of him, and leans over so she can look him in the face and his is still on his knees. He looks up at her in confusion, wondering what she is doing.
White feels so bad for N. To her, he seemed like a wilted rose. He was beautiful, his love for Pokemon motivating his actions. He had his heart in the right place, he truly did care about Pokemon. He just wasn't raised in the right way, he had been tricked and lied to by Ghetsis. Everything was Ghetsis's fault. She wanted to be the one to tend to the wilted rose. She wanted the wilted rose to bloom for the first time so that it could thrive like it was supposed to. N deserved happiness.
She truly did believe his heart was in the right place. She could see why he wanted what he did. There were abused Pokemon everywhere, and there isn't always something you can do about it. You're not always there to be able to stop it, but there was always going to be a small percentage of imperfection in the world no matter what. What she honestly wanted was compromise. Full separation wasn't the answer, but she and N could work together to help abused Pokemon, if he was willing to compromise as well.
She learns forward more, getting on her knees as well and embracing N. He gasps, blushing. "N, I don't hate you. Your heart was in the right place… You truly believed liberation would make Pokemon the most happy. You don't deserve any hate. I don't agree with complete separation, but I also hate it when trainers abuse their Pokemon and I want to fix it. I respect how much you care for Pokemon..."
N had felt like someone finally understood him. Tears escape from his eyes as he leans his head over her shoulder as they embrace. White feels his tears on her shoulder and she smiles a little, happy he is letting it all out.
I wish I could hug her forever… I've never hugged anyone before, It feels so good… N leans more into the hug, his tears clouding his vision. His mind was a complete jumble, but he felt mostly happy.
White begins to lightly stroke his head as he continues to cry.
She is so kind… She always looks after her Pokemon so well, and she seems to care that I'm okay, even though Father always said I was a freak without a human heart... I wish I could spend all my time with White.
N's sobs begin to cease, and he gently pulls away from the embrace. He abruptly stands up, pulling his black and white cap down so it covers his eyes. "Make sure you get out of here safely… Thank you… Thank you for everything. White." White stares up at him as he turns around, heading towards the hole in the castle wall which lead to the outside. They were on the top floor, and White was worried as to how he would get out.
I don't deserve to spend time with someone so kind as White… I need to change… I lost the battle of truth and ideals. I started to realize at some point that many Pokemon are happy with their trainers… I was just too stubborn to realize it. Full Pokemon separation isn't the answer… I am selfish. I assumed the feelings of all Pokemon. And that is why I lost, and White won. I don't deserve to spend time with her… First, I need to change.
With a determined look on his face, N tossed out his Pokeball and released the revived Reshiram. N climbs onto the dragon and soars away from the crumbling castle, leaving everything behind him. Reshiram was now long gone, and the only proof it was ever there was the crumbling castle and the very distant roar she heard from it in the distance.
I need to get out of here and find N… He doesn't deserve any of this. He needs a chance at happiness. I don't want him to disappear…
White releases her Zekrom from his Pokeball and jumps up and climbs onto his back, and they fly up and away from the falling castle.
"Zekrom, this way!" White furiously points in the direction Reshiram had flown in a few minutes prior. Zekrom lets out a cry of acknowledgement as he flaps his wings faster as they soar through the skies.
N… White's thoughts are consumed of nothing but his broken and empty expression when she had defeated him at the castle. She wanted to find N and show him that the world wasn't how he thought it was. Pokemon enjoyed being with their trainers. Pokemon and people lived alongside happily together. He didn't have to go off alone. He didn't have to suffer.
N, I'm coming for you!
Thanks guys for reading! Please review and tell me what you think! Stay tuned for next chapter! :D

I seriously love your Gladion headcannons and the post about giant Red was so good *w* I hope it's okay to ask about this but do you have any headcannons on giant N? ;w;
AAA THANK YOU and I am so sorry this took me twenty billion years to get to. I actually had to replay my old copy of Pokémon Black so that I could get a sense of N’s character, since Gen VI has always been my weakest point when it comes to Pokémon knowledge (and I never even played Black/White 2 rip). I also had to look up a lot of things, so hopefully the following headcanons should be alright?? I hope?? Either way, I’ll do my best!(Giant!N headcanons under the cut because HOO boy did I get carried away)
-N is so, so ridiculously gentle. Although he can come off as intimidating due to his size, it’s almost like he was just built to be gentle. His fingers are long and slender, like a pianist’s, and he’s very mindful of his grip. His hands are soft and his hair is like a giant cloud, so honestly? Very nice to cuddle up with. His voice is also quite soothing to listen to, and it’s so quiet that sometimes one might even forget how huge N really is.
-N is a tad shy, but if a person managed to get close enough with him to be his friend, you can bet that he’ll absolutely love and adore them. He’s content to stargaze and go cloud-watching with his small friend on his chest- remaining mostly quiet, aside from the occasional comment or two- for hours. If they’ll listen, he would also probably chat with them about philosophical questions and all of life’s mysteries.
-Unfortunately, even as a giant, he’s still just as easily manipulated by Ghetsis, but with more devastating results; Ghetsis might even manage to coerce N into using his sheer size and strength to gain more power for Team Plasma (all in the name of “freeing the Pokémon and totally not doing it for evil or anything”).
-N probably likes people even less now that he’s huge, since they treat him so terribly, shriek in fear when they see him, etc. etc. However, he’s pretty shocked when the MC doesn’t seem to display any sort of fear in response to his size, and it definitely requires a lot of brooding and thinking before he can accept that the MC actually likes him for who he is and isn’t scared of him.
-Cheren does NOT trust N. At all. If he saw the MC or Bianca anywhere near N, he’d probably try to drag them away for fear of them being hurt. Bianca, her ditzy-ray-of-sunshine self, also doesn’t seem to mind N at all (so long as he doesn’t hurt one of her best friends). She and the MC really make N reconsider his perspective of people- that maybe, just maybe, humans aren’t all bad.
-More of an image in my head than something I can properly put into words, but consider: N slowly lifting his hand and curling his fingers around the MC in order to protect them from Ghetsis. He silently glares down at his former caretaker, his usually spaced-out, dreamy gaze now very cold and distant. It practically screams “don’t you dare try to hurt my friend” and “how dare you lie to me”. (Be very afraid, Ghetsis, you sodding asshat, you.)
-N is like a Pokémon magnet, and absolutely has twenty baby Pokémon playing on him like he’s a giant jungle gym at any given time. N’s own Pokémon definitely enjoy his company and often perch on his shoulders or in his hair- sometimes they’ll burrow in under his hat. It always makes him smile whenever they do that, and when he smiles, it’s one of the purest, most genuine sights to grace the face of the planet.
-Ghetsis probably very strictly banned N from touching him/picking him up. Ghetsis was partially afraid of N’s strength, but he also seems the type to be a prickly-cactus-no-touching-or-I’ll-hit-you kind of guy. (Shitty Parent 2K17 Award goes to…) So anyways, N has probably translated that rule to ALL people in general unless Ghetsis insists that he pick someone up to intimidate them. So when he eventually picks someone up gently, of their own free will? It’s definitely a first for the huge teen and he finds himself completely mesmerized by the sheer feeling alone. The delicate, feather-light weight in his hands. The slightly nervous- but trusting- gaze of the person he’s holding. The warmth that spreads through his very core. And he absolutely MELTS if they smile up at him.
-Sadly, N’s dramatic exit can no longer be achieved, since he’s far too big to fit on Reshiram’s/Zekrom’s back. He just has to settle for walking away into the sunset, with the dragon Pokémon- along with his other Pokémon- perched on his shoulders.
He doesn’t seem to mind, since he’s just grateful to be with his family: his Pokémon.
-N will spend hours conversing with Pokémon, gently lifting them up in his hands and chatting back and forth with them, or letting them perch on his shoulders and patiently listening as they chatter excitedly by his ear.
-Eventually, Cheren comes to respect N, even if the two aren’t super close. Cheren recognizes that N won’t hurt either Bianca or the MC and relaxes around the giant trainer quite a bit upon that realization. He still isn’t very partial to the idea of N picking him up, though, and N respects Cheren’s personal space.
-N gets kind of overwhelmed by Bianca at times, but honestly, it’s impossible NOT to love her. She’s kind and sweet to N, and graciously accepts any and all opportunities to hitch a ride in N’s hands or on his shoulder. Being so high up is fun, and Bianca really, truly enjoys N’s presence. She thinks he’s a cutie, and N also finds her to be quite adorable (when she’s not shouting with joy right next to his eardrums Bianca please settle down.)
-N doesn’t quite know what to think of the MC, but he eventually concludes that he likes them. A lot. They’re quiet and good at listening, and they really seem to care for N and his Pokémon. And, judging from what he’s heard from the MC’s Pokémon, N concludes that the MC is a Very Good Person™ and is a very respectable trainer.Of the few humans he knows pretty well, N’s favorite is probably the MC.

(Ferriswheelshipping) Awakened Emotions Chapter 2
Hey guys! I'm back with another chapter. I hope I don't make their characters too out of their character, I'm really trying to keep N's personality accurate. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy and please consider to review/favorite/follow, it keeps me motivated to write more, even if the review is constructive criticism. I'm sure my story has a lot of issues but I'm trying my best. Anyways enjoy!
N, I'm coming for you! White determinedly thinks as she sits on Zekrom's back as they soar through the skies.
I don't want N to leave… He seemed so sad… I feel like we really could be friends. I really do think that we can make a compromise on our ideals. One person doesn't have to be completely in the right. I think we can both be right and both be able to make the world a little bit better. Pokemon and humans shouldn't be separated, but we also need to try our best to help abused Pokemon as much as we can. I hope I can get N to understand that we are both wrong and right in a way, and that the best way for us to make Pokemon happy is to compromise. He seemed so self loathing at the castle… I really want to help him.
They soar through the skies for hours, and White keeps her eyes peeled for Reshiram and N. But she found nothing. She listened for the distant cries of Reshiram, but she could only hear Zekrom's labored breathing. Her dragon was growing tired.
Damn it! I should have chased after N right away in the castle, but he left so fast and I was in a daze… I'm such an idiot. I would keep looking for hours more, but Zekrom is beginning to get tired of flying around for so long…
"Alright, Zekrom, let's head back to Nuvema town..." White murmurs in defeat. She didn't want to tire out her dragon too much more. She pats Zekrom on the head, and he changes his course towards her home town with a little grunt of acknowledgment.
They had been out flying for so long searching that the sun was starting to set, and the sky was now fading to orange and purple rather than blue. She shivers, the evening winds whipping against her exposed skin. Flying fast on a legendary dragon probably wasn't helping her keep warm either.
After a few minutes of gliding among the winds, her small little home town comes into view. She sighs when she sees it, it has been so long since she last visited. A sense of nostalgia floods her emotions as the town grows closer and closer and she finds herself leaping off of Zekrom as soon as they land. She scratches his neck in gratitude for the ride and he lets out a strange little purr. She returns him to his Pokeball, and runs to her house, throwing the door open. "I'm home!" She cries out. The familiar smell of her home enters her nose, and she feels relaxed already.
Everything the past few days had been so crazily hectic, she could hardly even think anymore and just wanted to be at a comfortable place for once, and she wanted to see her mother. "White!" Her Mother coos and runs to her daughter, giving her a big hug. "Is everything okay?" Her Mother demands in that sort of motherly tone that you just had to answer to. "I heard from Bianca and Cheren that you were caught up in some business with Team Plasma!" Her mother seems to growl at the very name of the team.
"Yes, Mom, I'm fine! I was able to take care of everything, but a few of Team Plasma escaped, but I think the gym leaders and everyone else who came to help will be able to take care of them. I'm just really tired..." As if to cement this statement, White wobbles a bit on her feet, her eyes droopy.
"Oh honey, get in bed! You can tell me all about it tomorrow, I'm just glad you're okay!" Her mom ushers her upstairs with a smile. Once on her bed, White collapses with a big exhausted sigh.
Now that she has finally been at rest for the first time in a few days, her mind was completely blank and dead. Ever since N had told her his ambitions of liberation at Nimbasa city, she had been rushing to complete her journey. She had gotten all her gym badges and defeated the elite four in under 2 weeks. During that time, she hadn't gotten enough sleep, and during the last day with fighting the elite four and everything that happened at N's castle, she hadn't slept at all. Her last jumbled thoughts were of N's broken and defeated expression as she fell into a deep slumber.
She woke in a strange place, a foggy world which consisted of nothingness and flat land. White was pretty sure she was dreaming in the back of her mind, and her dream self continued to stumble through the foggy flat lands, searching aimlessly for something. Soon, the fog parted to reveal Team Plasma's castle. The castle didn't look perfect like how it did after she had beaten the elite four. The castle was grand and beautiful at the time, looking otherworldly. Rather than the perfect castle she had first seen, it was instead the castle that had been destroyed after the legendary battles. It was still grand, but it was a shadow of its former glory. It was unbelievable what a few crazy battles could do to something even as grand as this.
White stumbles up the stairs to the castle, As she went to enter, the familiar sight of the entrance hall is before her.
Is this really a dream? It feels so real…
White runs down the halls, not even knowing what she was truly looking for. As she aimlessly travels throughout the ruined castle, she begins to hear things.
My friends getting hurt... That's what a Pokémon battle is.
The voice was loud, extremely loud. She covers her ears as it continues to echo throughout the castle. She recognizes those words to be something N said a long time ago.
Is N here? She wonders.
White, do you have a dream of your own?
This time, the voice seemed as if it was coming from somewhere, rather than just echoing throughout her ears like it came out of thin air. She follows the voice, hoping to find its source.
Where is N?
Show me the depth of your determination!
The voice had grown loud now, she knew she must be getting closer to wherever this voice was coming from. She remembered N had told her this line before their final battle. She had indeed shown him her determination, and had claimed victory. Although with N gone and everything should be perfect, she hardly felt satisfied.
She hears a strange music box in the distance, and it sounded as if it were out of tune and in the process of breaking. She enters the room where she thought the music box was coming from. Once inside, she gasps. Everything was so vibrantly colored. The carpet looked like a sky, it was blue with clouds on it. The walls were purple and white checkered, and various toys were scattered around the room. It looked like the room of a spoiled child. It was a bit dirty, though. Many of the toys were broken. The lights were off and it was a bit hard to see since the light coming from the hallway behind her wasn't that great either.
The music box was definitely in this room. She could hear its eerie and disfigured melody echoing throughout the room. It was very out of tune, and listening to it made her nervous. She hesitantly steps farther into the room, wondering what exactly this room was.
Suddenly, in the corner, almost completely hidden by stacked toys, she finally notices a boy was here. He was holding the source of the eerie and broken melody, the music box. He had messy and long bright green hair which slightly covered his eyes. His eyes were a faded blue, similar to the color of his carpet. He looked so lonely in the corner surrounded by his broken toys. She recognized him to be N. He looks up at her with a strange empty expression.
"Don't you hate me?" N asks, tilting his head to the side.
She remembered N had said that same line at the castle, and her heart broke again for this boy.
"No, N. I could never hate you!" White cries, heading to his side.
What's wrong with him? He seems… Different.
"Don't you hate me?" He asks again. It was as if she had never responded to him before.
"No, N, of course I don't hate you." She strokes him on the head, hoping he was okay.
"Don't… You… Hate me?!" This time, his face contorts into something twisted, his eyes bulged and his lips curled back into a snarl, exposing large fangs instead of normal teeth. He growls like a rabid animal.
White gasps, being jolted awake from her disturbing dream. She looks outside, seeing it was the middle of the night. She was disorientated, and her eyes were to blurred to make out much of anything in her room.
What kind of dream was that? It felt so real… I felt like N was really there… What was wrong with him? I'm scared… She buries her face into the pillow, trying to forget his empty expression he had in the dream as well as his twisted and crazed expression.
"Oh N…" White whispers to herself. "Where are you?"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the region, N lays upon the ground face up, staring up at the stars. He had made a makeshift camp at Route 11. His camp was under the bridge and next to the waterfall. He had no where else to go, so this camp was his only home for now. Ghetsis had disowned him, and he knew he wouldn't welcome him back even if N begged. But he definitely didn't want to go back anyways. The incident at the castle had shown N again how twisted his father was. He could possibly go back to the Plasma castle, but last time he was there it was falling apart with columns collapsing and falling. It probably wasn't safe there with all the destruction. So for now, all N had was himself, his Pokemon friends, and this little camp.
He honestly didn't know what to do at this point. Everything had been ruined, and he had been awakened to how everything truly was. There could never be an ideal world, White had proven him that. Along his journey, he had figured out that most Pokemon enjoyed being with their trainers. It was a huge eye opener, and now he didn't know what to do. He had devoted his entire life to helping Pokemon and following his Father's orders. He assumed Team Plasma had probably been captured or at least disbanded, and he felt as if he wasn't wanted or needed anywhere. He always had this glorified image of Team Plasma in his head that his Father had shown to him over and over again, and it was a big change for him to now associate Team Plasma with the bad guys.
I feel like I don't have a purpose anymore… I feel like I don't matter to anyone. As if Zoroark had heard N's sad thoughts, he wiggled around in his Pokeball. It was like Zoroark was saying to quit being a fool in his own harsh but caring way, and N smiled a bit at this. At least he would always have his friends with him.
From now on, I'll devote my time to helping Pokemon in need. Perhaps separating humans and Pokemon completely isn't the answer, but rather I should try best as I can to help Pokemon who are unhappy. N smiles at this, happy he had found a new purpose that mattered to him. Even though he thought he didn't matter to anyone other than his Pokemon friends, he couldn't get White's sad and longing look out of his head after he had flown from the castle. When N had flown away, he had allowed himself one last little glance behind him when he left the castle. She had still been sitting there, looking sad.
I hope she got out of the castle okay… But I still wonder why she was so sad… She had won the battle, but she seemed so sad that I left…
N tossed and turned for a while longer, before eventually falling into a dream which was filled with his memories of White and her sad looking eyes as he flew away from the castle and left everything behind.
