I’m really proud of all the writing I did this year! So for the last ten days of 2024 I’m going to be reblogging my 10 favorite pieces that I wrote.

I think this is the longest single smut one-off I've ever written?? It got so out of hand??? It inspired a whole spin-off series I had 0 intention of writing???? And compared to other pieces it was so easy to write— a real joy.

The fic owes a lot to two other sex pollen fics I'd HIGHLY recommend—firstly, a Solas x Trevelyan one, which is mind-numbingly good and (I think??) can still only be found on the Kink Meme/LJ. It's so good I spent over an hour and $22 trying to find it in all those comments again just to rec it here, and it was worth every minute and penny. I was for sure heavily influenced by the absolute crash from erotic to devastating at the end. Not gonna put the author on blast since it was filled anonymously but if they are seeing this: this is one of MULTIPLE of your works I still think about years later and I hope you are thriving. And SECONDLY, oh my god, @bdafic's Solavellan sexpollen fic, Aphrodisia. YES IT'S UNFINISHED, I DON'T CARE, GO READ IT ANYWAY. I am sometimes literally just doing things around my house like, walking my dog, or washing my dishes, and the reveal in this fic hits me over the head AGAIN and I have a little chuckle at Solas' expense thinking of him hiding his embarrassed, red face in his hands… and then I just stare into space like, wow. wow. Incredible. 13/10. I won't spoil it for you, but it's so hot, and so funny. Multiple outloud belly laughs reading it. Incredible Dorian and Varric banter at the top. And @bdafic's Ellana is one of my fave quizzies. I never would have put all that work into Aostrolf Van Markham if I hadn't been inspired by the absolutely insane world building this fic spoils the reader with. START YOUR 2025 OUT RIGHT! RUN DON'T WALK!!

I was SO psyched to see this this morning. Honestly, I felt like I'd won a prize or something hahah that's right boys I'm (Still) A TOP 500 LISTENER 🏆 ...AAAALL these years later 🙌🏻

I do truly believe i'd've been #1 if they took into account the YouTube minutes of live concerts I also accumulated on my tv at home that I play 24/7 just in the background of my (legitly) EVERYday life. And the old interviews & livestreams of his that I fall asleep to each night (I wasn't around at the time that he was big-time online so I never got to see or take part in that time... but come onnnn=sometimes 8 straight hours talking to us all on livestream, playing with instruments & singing & playing video games!!!

He was so involved!!! It's my heaven to be able to still take part in my own way all these years later now that I'm back at life and able to still access them. 🙏🏻 don't know what I'd do without them!

I was born same day as Brendon (other side of the world) but I'm still a little emo baby at heart haha. However having the same birthday & growing up through the same times & things, I've always felt akin to him (also suffer with adhd & all that not to mention other issues), & I dunno but like my life has been HARD ...so when I think of all that the Panic! boys had to deal with at such a tender age with being thrown into the deep end of the public eye with nothing but their d!cks in their hands.... they would have dealt with SO much pressure I just can't even!!!!!

And look, whatever, I am unapologetically PRO-BRENDON, I couldn't care less what any haters have said, do say or will say lol however I do have a counterpoint to anything you want to throw at me about him (but it's unlikely I'll give anyone the time of day unless they really press a hot button issue for me about him) i tend to focus my care toward all the people supporting him in his endeavours which has just been so fun. Notes: I think of this as both the quintessential cliffs era as well as the quintessential Silverflint spanking fic. This author’s treatment of the pirate boys’ dynamic was a MAJOR INSPIRATON when I started writing my own fic, thank you for your service.

What It Feels Like Not to Hurt by robotboy:

Summary: So. This is a 9k slow burn watersports fic. That's a thing that now exists in this fandom. But it's mostly about Silver recovering in the warship cabin and working out how much of his humanity is tied to humiliation. To echo my esteemed colleague purplecelery: 'I'm gonna gently suggest that anyone who's not usually into this take a gander anyway because you might be surprised.'

Notes: This is Thee Gold Standard (heh lol) for watersports, absolute mastercraft character study through kink. Set during the s2-s3 break, warship recovering times directly after Silver’s amputation.

Notes: A non explicit entry on this list! The powerplay here is done in a sort of indescribably tender way that makes me ache, it’s gorgeous, the pacing is perfect. One of my all time favorites, and uh, “pup” as a nickname for Silver is GOOD, my stance on this is well-documented.

As Good As Gone by spinninginfinityboy:

Summary: “If I have learned anything these past few days, it is the importance of understanding one another.”

There’s a heaviness to the words which speaks of some deeper meaning, but if there is one, Flint cannot parse it. It has been a long time since he cared to try. If there is a world in which he does not have to spend his every waking moment second guessing John Silver, that is the world upon which he has set his sights. The alternative seems only exhausting.

One way or another, Flint and Silver learn how to communicate.

Notes: Set in nebulous late s2, during the journey to Charles Town. The best hatefuck I’ve ever had the privilege of reading, Flint gagging Silver with a gold coin, lives in my brain rent free wtf.

Summary: Flint kisses Silver in the longboat after the shark hunt. When they reach the Maroon island's shores, Silver tries to navigate whether it was a moment of reckless passion or genuine desire and is surprised by the truth.

Notes: Contains the softest most loving spitting in someone’s mouth I’ve ever read in my life. Also there is a sequel with watersports and omorashi which is the softest most loving pissing fic I’ve ever read in my life.

An EXTREMELY thorough and nuanced character exploration through kink that will tear your heart out in the best way possible. For my part, it rivals the actual ending of the show for devastation and having me sob in a puddle. Uh, also, it is the most sun-scorching intense smut I’ve ever read in my life. NOBODY does sub!Flint like Kay. I simply cannot recommend this highly enough.

do you make your bed? I used to as a kid, mostly because my mom made me lol. But when I reached my teens I gave up - no one but me is seeing it anyway!

what’s your favourite number? I've always had an affinity for 4, though couldn't say why. I've always associated it with the color purple as well.

what is your job? assistant manager at a shoe store 🤷‍♀️ it's not bad but man do the customers get on my nerves

if you could go back to school would you? absolutely not. I'm 37 and still have nightmares about being late for class or forgetting to show up. I liked college but I'm not capable of that level of homework anymore.

can you parallel park? never learned how to drive LOL

a job you had that would surprise people? janitor I guess?? I actually liked it a lot though. We'd clean the local museum, so I got to see some art, and then we'd drive all the way up into the hills to clean the wind turbine research center.

1. Only God Forgives. Most films by Refn leave me very cold but something about this one is just my jam. The music, the acting, the story, Vithaya Pansringarm beating the shit out of Ryan Gosling - immaculate.

2. Ravenous. Caught this one randomly one night on IFC when I was younger. Couldn't believe I've never heard of it as it has both Guy Pearce AND Robert Carlyle, two of my fave actors. Anyway it was life changing and I'll never recover.

3. Suspiria (2018). I like the original as well but man. MAN. Everything about Guadagnino's version was made specifically for me.

4. Taboo (Gohatto). Accidentally came across this one when I was def too young to watch it lmao. I was going through a samurai phase and so naturally I was like oh cool, and they're gay? Sign me up! Let me tell ya, this one is a doozy. Basically it's about a bunch of samurai vying for the affections of a beautiful youth who also happens to be a full on sociopath (affectionate), and it does Not End Well. Also has Tadanobu Asano and Takeshi Kitano, who are awesome as usual.

coffee or tea? I like both but coffee is just SO GOOD.

first thing you wanted to be growing up? earliest thing I can remember wanting to be was an FBI agent? I was very into the X-Files as a kid and thought it would be a great job haha.

2022 Fanfiction Reading Challenge

October Stats 🎃

Happy November, my friends! We managed to wait until today to get our first real dusting of snow - so that’s fun for us. Halloween is one of my favourite holidays - my daughter dressed as Princess Peach and her friends were various Mario characters. They were a hit! We just moved into a new neighbourhood - and literally only had 34 little trick-or-treaters. VERY different from our last house where we’d have steady kids from 4pm-10pm and go through several boxes of treats... now I have two big bowls left over. Whatever shall we do? 😏

Fandom-wise, I’m two tasks away from completing the @fanfic-reading-challenge - in fact, I’m only waiting on the month requirement tasks (fics that have to be read in Nov and Dec) and then I’m completely done the Regular, Hard, AND Extreme challenges. Thank you all for joining me on this journey - for the messages with fic suggestions and for being patient with my monthly run-downs. What started as my comfort!fic rundowns in April 2020 (after the infamous leak™️) has become something fun for me anyway - even if no one else is reading these. lol.

The last few weeks were pretty challenging as far as doing the fic challenge - because I had to read several longer-ish stories from fandoms I am not part of and don’t really know much about. It gave me an appreciation for some new fandoms and pairings - and it also made me miss the Golden Era of my own fandom and the quality of the fics profoundly. I think I’m going to spend my November rereading those stories. Suggestions for your faves would be welcome.

I started reading Daemon/Rhaenyra this month and have been SO pleased with the stories - there is one that is currently a WIP that is absolutely glorious and I drop everything when it’s updated to read it right then! I legit read 46 different fandoms in this one month - most were because of the challenge, but I know I’ll return to many of them in the future. If you were to read one fandom outside of your norm - what is it?

Anyway - as per usual, here are a few recs for the month (and if you’re still into SPOOKY READS - you should check out my Bughead Halloween Fic Rec Post) - and as always, if you have any favourite stories (that you loved reading or even that you wrote - in any fandom), please let me know. I’d love to know what you’ve been reading and I never complain about new stories to read. 👻

foolish hearts (series) by @catthecoder (5 fics - Bughead)

Summary: When a federal agent Betty Cooper gets assigned a case featuring an art thief and forger Jughead Jones, she doesn’t really think much of it. But as months pass, alongside the irritation caused by both the lack of progress in the case and the criminal himself, other feelings start to blossom as well; particularly the ones of respect and admiration. And the fact that Jughead is more intrigued by the agent on his case than terrified of her certainly doesn’t help much with keeping their relationship strictly professional. In their lines of work, pleasure and business certainly shouldn’t mix, but who’s there to stop their foolish hearts?

Why you should read it: HOW DID I MISS THIS THE FIRST TIME?! This is wonderful. THE WHOLE SERIES. Glorious. I was stuck in my feels the whole time. I legitimately LOVED each character - flaws and all - and I FELT for them. And the writing is beautiful. I was physically sad when I reached the end and there was no more to read in this universe. What a gift.

Hold the Rock by @avocadomooon (1/1 - Tyrion/Sansa)

Summary: "Nag? No. A bad wife nags. A good wife advises," Tyrion said. "And you are a very good wife." "Thank you, my lord," Sansa said. "Now comes the part where you tell me I'm a very good husband." "You are passable, my lord," she said, and Tyrion laughed.

Why you should read it: Okay - so I know you’re skeptical because it’s not a pairing people generally think “oooh that sounds good” - BUT TRUST ME - this was REALLY good. Alternate universe a bit - where Ned doesn’t go down to KL. It’s arranged marriage - but I promise, the depth of these characters is just TOP NOTCH. It’s a one-shot but it’s a long one - and you’re love these two by the end of it.

Let Her Own Works Praise Her in the Gates by @chronicbookworm (1/1 - Mary Bennet/Mr. Collins)

Summary: Circumstances (and Mary) conspire to make Mr Collins propose to Mary instead of Charlotte Lucas. The new Mrs Collins finds a place for herself in Hunsford, finds a cause to champion, and finds more courage than she knew she had.

Why you should read it: OKAY OKAY - So I know you’re going to give me the side eye and say “Jandy, why are we reading about very well boiled potatoes?” - but I have to tell you, this is how Austen should have written the Mr. Collins storyline. Mary is FANTASTIC here. A bit manipulative, but for the good of everyone. Honestly - if you like Austen or Austen fics at all, please give this one shot a try. It was very very well written and the characters are really likeable (even Collins) - well, except Lady Catherine (BUT - Mary tells her off, so it’s fabulous). Anyway - read it. It was a joy for me this month.

A lot, actually! I'm usually such a lazy ass, so I'm just going to list down my absolute fucking fave authors ever, because I am extremely confident whatever fic of theirs you decide to click and read will undoubtedly be a good one. However, I will list down some of my personal favorites among their writing so you know where to start!

givebackmylifecas (Ellen) - Ellen is one of the most, if not THEE most prolific writer in the Berlermo fandom. She has a record of a whopping 58 fics in total for the two evil bastards, and was one of the few people who kept providing fanfic content during the great Berlermo drought of 2020. An absolute legend. A fantastic writer. All her fics are "mwah, chef's kiss* and I'm happy to call her my wifey.

Recommended works: Yucatan AU, Daemon AU, Divorced AU, Andrés Getting Punched AU (5+1), Hallucination AU, Another 5+1 Fic where people assume they are dating, THIS absolute RIDE of an AU, Berlin the Cat AU, Amnesia AU

shotgun_cake (Shotgun) - QUEEN OF SMUT, and no one will refute me for this. Because anyone who has ever read Shotgun's writing will agree with me. Perfect blend off fluff, smut, and just enough sprinkling of angst to tug on your heartstrings and make you yearn.

Recommended works: Flavours of Lust Series, The Knight Fic, Wedding AU, Lawyers AU (still a WIP! but worth the read anyway), Sugar Daddy AU, One of the First Berlermo Smuts ever written and my GOD is it still good, Spin the Bottle AU

boom_slap (Boom) - QUEEN OF ANGST, and again, no one will challenge this claim because anyone who has ever read Boom’s fics will know what I’m talking about. Every single sentence she writes just evokes a very sharp pang of pain, but in a really good cathartic way that really captures the essence of Berlermo as a whole.

Recommended works: Unlikely Alliances (which is actually the fluffiest shit ever and an absolute masterpiece of an AU, but still has great angst I love Boomer for), really really amazing hurt/comfort fic that makes me cry, another really amazing hurt./comfort fic that makes me bawl my eyes out, Andrés overdoes it with the dirty talk AU that has great hurt/comfot and makes me weep like a baby, really painful but beautiful hurt/comfort Attempted Suicide AU that reduces me to a puddle of tears, Short Studies in Pleasure series, Berlermo Sick Fic, Andrés’s wonderful journey through discovering his sexuality and spoiler alert! He bottoms in the end but it’s masterfully and carefully written so Bottom!Berlin Antis, give it a go you cowards!

phcbosz (Mav) - Mav’s a goddamn talented writer and he writes some of the best hurt/comfort fics out there too. And they’re heartbreaking and sad, but it also feels warm. Like you’re being hugged, like you’re being understood.

Recommended works: MY COMFORT ANGST FIC, Andrés falls in love FIRST AU, Bittersweet Fic About Andrés’s Illness, Trans!Martín AU, Cuddling for Warmth AU

marirable (Marie) - Marie is also like lowkey highkey an emotional terrorist and her works are incredibly underrated which is an injustice!!! So here I am trying to make up for that so please give this woman some love right now.

Recommended works: Marie has 5 fics so literally I recommend all of them thank you, but I would start with her first fic: the Soulmate/Soulmark AU

And I think these fics manage to really capture Andrés and Martín’s personalities and relationship perfectly and also maintain a respect for the source material, which I know is hard to do, so I admire them greatly. I felt like suna was personally rejecting me and i hated it- i swear the moment he said prove it I almost screamed HOW? My brain had to take a moment to just slap me and say: 'kya you reading this is not happening chill-' cause i was already sobbing uncontrollably... I even whimpered the dont leave me 😬 my sadass went to bed feeling so sad thanks to suna... Man i wanted so much to hug him and i swear i would give him as much love as he gave y/n cause well i kin suna alot in this series cause im like that im a giver i treat others the way i would like to be treated (reason why ive been down lately ✌️) and i cant blame suna for finally setting boundaries- his call tho 'do i not stand a chance with you anymore y/n? Are you really not capable of falling in love with me?".... Oh suna... We are in love with you.. We always were we're just fucking stupid 😩

Now for the love letter part (im so sorry for this being so long ✌️)

You said that if we asked suna he woukd say that he genuinely loved mari okay... Ill go ahead and say yes he liked mari he even learned how to love her and he genuinely cared for her BUT and heres where my personal view comes in so maybe ill be biased here still for me that was just a he loves her as in he cares you also love your friends and care for them but he didnt love her- and by this I mean- he could never be fully committed for her. Yes he loved her and he felt happy with her but like track 7 proved everything he would do in the back of his mind was y/n he deeply wished Mari was her and for that he just loved Mari cause he learned how to care about her- but he never forgot who he trully was in love it. Also the happiness he experienced with Mari was pretty much the one I experienced the bliss of having someone there and that bliss also made suna turn a blind eye to all the red flags from Mari cause to him all the jealousy meant she cared and thats toxic but suna was so desperate for some sort of 'she cares' that even all the possessiveness was bliss for him... And that makes my heart clench for suna...

'suna had to put an effort for the relationship' and saddly i feel like mari didnt... Mari didnt care mari was there because she was a fangirl of suna and got lucky, the way she just discarded him so effortlessly that proved-screamed how much she loved him- she didnt. She was just possessive over him she liked the whole 'hes mine' dynamic and suna was the perfect boyfriend cause he was giving her the world... What he wanted someone to do for him.

Also yeah suna and y/n might have been spurred from them being fuck buddies but well love doesnt really have an agenda- they just clicked, understood each other and had chemistry yeah they had tons and tons of sex but feelings started not because of sex but thanks to their deep connection... Also that dsncing scene in track 7 that alone spoke for their whole relationship- that alone is enough to defend their feelings for each other- yes it might jave started just as fuck buddies but ended up in them loving each other deeply and that is enough love after all doesnt need a perfect start. It can start out of the most stupid ways.

You said life with excitement and fun wouldn't be permanent or real.. Honestly i think it could be.. Cause i mean when you love someone that deeply your life always feels exciting even with the littlest things and that the purest kind of love. Even just going for a walk at the beach would be fun for them or even staying up watching movies i believe suna and y/n would always find a way to make their lofe exciting without much effort.

Also it kinda makes me. Sad when i see some anon saying that y/n and suna relationship are toxic? It makes me. Confused maybe because I was in such extremely toxic one (girl i sweat if you search for toxic relationship my ex's face will be there as an example 🙄) that Mari to me screams toxic! Possessive, manipulative, jealous and a few more if I think closely about it while with y/n and suna they are just two idiots that are hurting each other cause they're just that: idiots one that is afraid to get hurt and the other that keeps hoping- dont get me wrong what they're doing is not healthy but i dont find it toxic honestly

YOOOOO I AGREE WITH THAT. he cares for mari as a person but not 100% as a lover. but ofc he’s still thankful for how happy she made him because she was there at his worst. and that’s true, deep down suna still wishes that it was YN who’s right beside him. he will always ALWAYS want her back. he learned how to love mari in a way that was more out of mutual care but not in the way he loves YN. no that’s reserved only for YN – she will remain no 1 in his heart. AND YESSSSS the reason why suna overlooked the red flags was bcos to him, its something that was supposed to be “normal” like no perfect partner existed. he thought mari’s attitude of pushing YN away was normal, and its normal to want your partner’s best friend keep some distance but not to the point of mari’s place where she literally wants the two of them to cut each other out of their lives.

and aww I’m so happy that you realized how I wanted to portray suna and yn’s relationship. they’re….like the definition of youth in its freest form. they were fucking around and doing stupid things, but they had a connection. they had something deeper than just sexual intimacy. even if they never dated or even if YN never proposed the idea of it, they would’ve actually been still great friends. and oooh I actually don’t remember saying life with excitement and fun wouldn’t be real HAHAHAHA so I can’t comment further on that. but I think when I ‘said’ those I probably meant that it’s not always going to be all rainbows and unicorns in a relationship. there’s no such thing as a relationship that’s always happy and sweet 24/7, but ofc it can be sweet and it can be pure even with the little things <33 they just need to work on it.

hmmm tbhhhh… suna and yn are toxic in a way that they refuse to let each other go when they clearly can’t meet halfway. toxic doesn’t have to be limited in just being mari-like in which they are possessive or manipulative, because then if we’d drive deeper into yn’s personality, then she’d be stringing suna all along and that’s unfair of her. she knows suna wants more and yet she remained being friends with him, which totally isn’t a bad thing, but it’s because she keeps flirting with him and is so romantically comfortable with him that she doesn’t realize it’s hurting suna because he’ll give double meanings to that. their relationship is ‘toxic’ because they’re not entirely good for each other, they’re not that ready to be with one another yet and neither is the world letting them be in peace, so forcing their relationship to a point they’re hurting another is the toxic part.

SNK #129 - Advance

Just a tender moment between contemporaries before they get blown up.

Part of writing a good finale means laying down groundwork – setting the stage. The set piece has to go somewhere, after all. The final set piece for this series will be, appropriately so, Eren Jaeger in a sea of Titans. But we have to get there first, so let’s take a moment to set the board and see who is where.

The first thing we see is the body of Daz, floating softly to the bottom of the bay. Then we see Samuel who somehow still has a face left. (It was here I remembered I was reading Shingeki no Kyojin and not Berserk.) Because of the month hiatus, for me anyway, there was a little extra impact seeing the results of Connie’s “betrayal.” Armin is still wounded; Annie and Reiner are not far behind.

They’ve been tasked with protecting Kiyomi and her clan from the Jaegerists. It’s a task that proves more difficult as time wears on because there are so damn many of them. The 3DM is tailor-made to fight Titans and the Paradisians have a full century of practice. Even greenhorn chumps like Floch and his crew, with the right tools, can do serious damage. In addition to that, who knows what other insider info The Usurper himself has given them?

The Female and Armored Titans are getting bombarded. They aren’t going to make it and Falco is the only one with the nerve to say it out loud. This is one of those moments where two things can be true at the same time. Is Falco ready for the stressors of transforming and using the Jaws Titan, let alone for battle? Clearly not. Does the alliance really have a choice if they don’t want their narrow window of opportunity to be closed? The answer is also no. None of these plans will be perfect.

It took me a minute to pick up what she was putting down here. The idea is to sail ahead of Eren’s Rolling Apocalypse and cut him off with Hizuru’s flying machine. As far as prevent defense goes, there are worse things you can do. There’s still the matter of what to do when they get there, but right now it’s a race to make sure only 40% of the continent is flattened.

Let’s not get it twisted, alright. I do not like this dude. But! I love how Commander Handsome still casts his shadow over this entire series. He’s been dead for years now both in story and IRL yet his influence rings true even in the absolute bastards. Hange is Erwin’ successor. They do what they can every day to live up to his legacy. Floch does the same, but clearly as someone who has only read Erwin’s Problematic Fave entry. He survived Erwin’s suicide charge fully in tact and decided the reason he was still alive was to become the Devil that Erwin didn’t get the chance to be. Not by becoming a Titan, mind you, but by becoming an autocratic piece of shit.

In this way, Erwin Smith is a lot like The Boss from MGS3. His legacy as a hero of man stands tall over even his own life. After his death, people have interpreted (or misinterpreted or reinterpreted) his will. The countless arguments I’ve seen about how he would deal with Eren; if he would support Eren; what his plan would be for a Marley counterattack. All of this is why Levi basically chose to kill him on that rooftop. Sometimes death can be mercy.

The last thing I want to talk about is the theme of succession. It was very prevalent in this chapter. It’s a major theme of this story in general.

Even if we die. Even after we die.

Every advance we make as human beings is in part thanks to the toil and failures and, yes, bloodshed of our predecessors. We stand on the shoulders of the giants that came before us. In my favorite Assassin’s Creed title, Black Flag, there is a nice moment near the end of the main story between fictional pirate Edward Kenway and real pirate Mary Read. Mary has been rescued from captivity but is near death. She knows she can go no further and asks Edward, “I’ve done my part. Will you?”

That is the thesis of the franchise which features treasure hunts and time travel. Well, genetic time travel anyway. Shingeki no Kyojin asks the same question. Commander Erwin stood upon a mountain of corpses that grew taller with each mission. When it was time for him to lay down his life so that his people could advance further than they were yesterday, he did so with little trepidation. The main idea is the same here. You take the baton for the sake of passing it forward.

I appreciated this moment of reflection from Magath much more than the crocodile tears from the last chapter. I expected it from Shadis, who has always been an exceptional teacher, but seeing Magath come to the same conclusion via his own troupe of Eldians was cathartic in a way. It was a good end to his character arc; he at least deserves that much.

And what more can I say about Keith Shadis. I knew he was a real one from the very start. He didn’t see himself as special, but he was special to the people that knew him, undoubtedly. Years ago, as I was climbing out of a dark place in my life, my best friend told me something that I’m sure he thought was a throwaway line that stuck with me ever since. I’ve repeated it constantly as a mantra.

“We’re all geniuses. In our own way.”

I never forgot that. Shadis fell into a deep depression of his own after leading the Survey Corps to staggering losses on numerous campaigns. A young, brilliant commander succeeded him, which left Shadis to become an instructor: his true talent. Both men were talented, as was Eren, just not in the ways any of them thought.

Stray Thoughts

- To continue the theme of passing torches, Falco was emboldened by the latent will of Porco Galliard: one of his mentors and the previous holder of the Jaws Titan.

- There’s a lot of words I want to say about the design of Falco’s Titan form, how it relates to birds and how those animals were basically indistinguishable from dinosaurs as we know them today. But that isn’t my area of expertise and I have a long queue to deal with so just know that I like it a lot.

- Mikasa and Annie working together. Will Nature’s wonders ever cease?

- Let’s not mince words here. This may be the last time these folks ever see Paradis Island. Until proven otherwise, this is very much a one-way trip.

- It’s the beginning of the end, at last. We’re entrenched in the middle of the Final Act. It wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t see Eren (or Historia) until the very last update. It’s been a pleasure reading along with everyone and I thank you for spending even a little bit of your time each month reading my thoughts. I’ve taken leaps and bounds as a writer and on top of that, it’s just been hella fun.

Shadowhunters Fandom Story - Part Nine

Why I love this story:

If i have a bad day, i download this, log off and escape into this wonderful world. This is my comfort fic. I adored the way Magnus and Alec had this instant connection. Never too shy to tell the other how beautiful they are, and described so beautifully. Nala, Alec’s dog was such a vital part of this story, i really loved the way the animals were involved, especially the way Nala and Chairman Meow turned into these wonderful characters of theor own. Nala's bond with Alec was beautiful, how she reacted to his feelings, and was a support for him. This story has little bit of everything, fluff, pining, loving, makes your heart burst with love. We had Magnus' family welcoming Alec, then Alec's also welcoming Magnus! Domestic moments, mornings together at the loft, cuddling, making risotto - What’s not to love.

Favourite lines:

[“You buy pumpkins, all kinds, from me, though you’re allergic, you run after me in slippers, you are... really special.” He grins so wonderfully, Magnus can’t but smile, his cheeks suddenly heating up.]

[Magnus adores the way Alec kisses him after a long day. As if he had missed him every minute he was gone, as if he can only wholly breathe, and be at ease, once he’s with him again, as if Magnus is the reason for his happiness, his sanctuary].

Why I love this story:

This fic was my introduction to hockey, i knew absolutely nothing about the sport before this and you really don’t need to, because it’s so well explained in the story. I love the torture of the slow burn before Malec’s first kiss, it was so intense as there was so much anticipation and neither wanted to cross a line but also really knowing that it would eventually happen. Some of the lines in here are absolutely beautiful, and also painfully beautiful like their break-up because the break-up was because the loved the other so much they were trying to protect them which made it even harder and makes it so easy to get lost in this work. There are so many character developments here too but they happen over a period of time and not rushed which i liked and made it feel real and natural. And our protangonists work things out but there are many twist and turns along the way, and a beautiful friendship between Magnus and Max.

Why I love this story:

I had originally seen Art for this story on twitter and i was so intrigued that i had to read the story. The content in this story is heavy and at times quite dark and normally content i hide away from but this one i just couldnt stay away, it’s just so well written with complex yet well-rounded characters & i when i started reading it, i couldn’t put it down, there are two parts to this and i read it all as one and have a sob-fest. But amongst all the darkness there is enough happy/fluffy moments to keep a balance to the story and the deep love that Magnus and Alec have in this universe is one of the strongest i have seen in any other story, part of what drew me to it and why i love it so much. Another thing i liked is the friendship between Jace and Magnus and that is something i always love in a story, like when Jace was there to look after Magnus, making sure he got back back safe and took care of Magnus so he was there and well when Alec woke up in a certain scene. We get loads of fluffy moments and cute when it was just them, the normally fearsome Alec a blushing mess when Magnus calls him everything from, pup, puppy, munchkin etc. Lastly i loved the way they cared/looked after each other when they were hurt/sick and magnus looking after Alec when he went off the rails and helping him through his addiction was amazingly sweet, even when they had broken up at the time summed them up to me.

[Magnus smiled and looked down to where Alec was ripping the label into small pieces “Sexually frustrated?” Alec snapped out of his thoughts and stiffened in his seat, Magnus laughed softly “It’s what they say you are if you play with the labels on your bottles”. “I don’t.. I didn’t know” Alec said and pushed the bottle away. “You didn’t know that what it meant or you don’t know if you are sexually frustrated?”]

[“I love your eyes” He let out before he had a chance to think about what he was actually saying. “Thank you”. Alec could see in his eyes that he was smiling, not needing to take his focus away from them. “Do you wear contact lenses or something?” he asked and tipped his head slightly to the side, shivering a little as Magnus hand moved around to the back of his neck and his fingers played with the shorter hairs, like he was trying to twirl it around his fingertips. “No” Magnus was still smiling “I am just a little special”]

[‘Magnus’s eyes were filled with love as he cupped his face, leaned down over him and kissing away his tears. Closing his eyes, Alec felt Magnus’ lips against his eyelids so softly it was barely a kiss. Alec moved his hands to rest against Magnus’ knees, feel his own heartbeat echo off Magnus’ palms as Magnus pressed his hands against his chest.”]

Why I love this story:

Tried hard to choose my fave stories for this TOP 5 Favourite's and these two writer have some amazing ones and were so difficult to choose from. I planned to have 'Bright Light's Small Town' and 'Take Me To Church' but this collab had such a huge effect that i couldn’t possibly leave it out. Honestly, one of the most beautiful, deep, meaningful stories I ever read about Alec and Magnus because the raw content and these two writers are hard-hitters when it comes to writing angst. Watching these characters pour their hearts out, falling apart, nearly breaking up and divorcing and then realizing their love was stronger than any of it and starting from scratch, building themselves up again, such an amazing thing to see and also is so very real-life. So many things (and people) had got in their way but they finally managed to communicate and begin again. Watching them fall in love all over again was such a pleasure and so beautifully written.

Favourite lines:

[He wonders how he could have ever forgotten how it felt to fall in love with the wonder and light that is Magnus Bane. He can’t believe he ever let Magnus spend so many days in sadness. That he was the cause of that sadness. There’s so much he needs to make right]

[There is nothing left but the blunt honesty on his features, the same that always leads one of Alec’s earth-shattering declarations. He never seems to realize how the words he utters so candidly can throw Magnus’ whole world off balance while at the same time grounding him to the reality of Alec’s love for him. It is, quite possibly, Magnus’ favorite feeling. “Every time I think I can’t possibly love you more you just–” he shakes his head with a sense of fatality that he seems to welcome gratefully, “– God, I love you so much.”]

Why I love this story:

Such a wonderful story. It’s different from the others i have listed as in this story, we start off with Alec having a boyfriend before anything happened between him and Magnus but its made very clear that this relationship is at times very one-sided and that this Raj is not the right person for Alec and he didn’t seem to have any interest in Alec’s life outside their relationship and hadn’t even met his family. The relationship with Alec and Magnus was so natural, realistic and mature, it was obvious from the start they had chemistry but with Alec in a relationship, nothing was ever going to happen between them and they had this lovely charming friendship. And which moved forward after the break-up primarily thorough Alec looking after Magnus and making sure he was eating when he was working too hard, how sweet is that? The communication between the two is something i really love about this too and you always get the impression they’re both on the same page. There’s wonderful fun and humour between the two and even on the business side, in their jobs , they are each other’s biggest supporter, lastly the story has another thing i love in fic, a friendship between Magnus and Jace.

[‘You don't have to sit here and wait for him," he remembers Magnus saying, that first night theytalked. "And if that's what he expects, he's probably not worth it, they never are."]

Magnus is squeezed in between him and Alec, and Alec is just gazing happily at his brother and his boyfriend, a drunk smile on his face. "I mean, you're a bit―" Jace gestures exaggeratedly with his hand. "But it's all good. You're alright”]

4. how did your elementary school teachers describe you? We call elementary school primary school. It depended which teachers you asked, my favourites always said I was “conscientious, kind, and a pleasure to have in class”.

5. do you prefer to drink soda from soda cans, soda bottles, plastic cups or glass cups? Glass cups or bottles.

6. pastel, boho, tomboy, preppy, goth, grunge, formal or sportswear? I have like 4 looks, pastel, boho, and goth/witchy/grunge, also vintage-inspired which wasn’t mentioned but I love it.

7. earbuds or headphones? Depends on the shape, I love my Razr headset because it doesn’t squash my ears, and I like galaxy bud shaped earbuds, the ones with the little rubber doo-dads that fit actually in your ear. Apple or a lot of older flat earbuds cause me a lot of pain.

8. movies or tv shows? TV shows. Movies are getting longer and longer and my focus is getting shorter and shorter

9. favorite smell in the summer? Rainy days!

10. game you were best at in p.e.? The game of queue-ducking (where you go to the back of the queue to avoid your turn), or dance, or the less strength intensive parts of gymnastics. Or crying, always been great at that xD

14. favorite non-chocolate candy? Message Hearts (or anything with that texture), the red pack of starbursts (the UK version is vegan). Does Turkish Delight count because if so then that is my fave. I also like gummies if they’re vegan.

15. favorite book you read as a school assignment? To Kill a Mockingbird (high school), or The Bloody Chamber (uni), or Hamlet (uni)

16. most comfortable position to sit in? One foot under me, the other foot out to the other side, but both in the same position (if the surface is flat), or knees up.

17. most frequently worn pair of shoes? I own a lot of shoes so there isn’t really a single pair I wear the most. Recently my Air Force 1s, I’m trying to wear them in because the previous owner didn’t so the cause blisters.

18. ideal weather? Cold, overcast, rainy, still. Or without the rain. or snow (as long as I’m not going in the car and I can go crunch my shoes in it xD

19. sleeping position? Either side, but my body is kinda rotated towards the bed so it’s like half way between on my stomach and on my side.

21. obsession from childhood? Animals, dinosaurs, goddesses, magic, crystals, neopets, sims. I still love all of these things, I am a rotating door of obsessions, usually a bunch of the same obsessions on repeat.

22. role model? I don’t have one particular role model, I do have tons of people that I love and respect.

23. strange habits? I have so many strange habits that I have become one myself. Nothing actually stands out though because 99% of it is because of my brain.

25. first song you remember hearing? Maybe Dancing Queen by ABBA, definitely the first I remember dancing to, but my dad loves music so I grew up with a constant stream of it.

26. favorite activity to do in warm weather? Suffer xD when I’m able to do so comfortably I’d love to go out looking for pretty stones, and nice sticks with my fiance, also would like to go on picnics with him, or a friend if I had one.

31. what outfit do you wear to kick ass and take names? I think maybe I’m not gutsy or whatever enough, but also unpredictable. I wear whatever I like, and I’m just as likely to cry in all of them as I am to accidentally get in a fight.

There was one that nearly killed me because I literally started to choke that was in some kind of office and the bit like can you run this past me again, and they just fucking legged it past them holding a folder up, Saw it once, never saw it again. 39. lemon cake or lemon meringue pie? I had a vegan lemon meringue pie once, so good. Cake is easier to make though, and I can eat more in one sitting without getting sick xD

40. weirdest thing to ever happen at your school? Um, the principal in my last year of school got caught for being a peeping tom a few years after I left.

43. hoodie, leather jacket, cardigan, jean jacket or bomber jacket? Depends on the rest of the outfit and the weather. I wear Jean jackets most though.

44. favorite scent for soap? I love lavender, or vanilla/candy/fruity/baked goods type scents. I still have a bottle of Sugar Fairy spray from lush from a year ago and I love the smell of that.

45. which genre: sci-fi, fantasy or superhero? Fantasy I think.

51. current stresses? My cat has been throwing up and having diarrhoea the past week or so, she’s been to the vet, it got better for a bit, but tonight suddenly got worse. Living with my parents who I have a very toxic relationship with. Living in a single very overfilled room. Trying to not spend money so that I can save up to move next year. Nightmares about my trauma. Either the house is haunted or there’s a build up of negative energy (probably that).

52. favorite font? I always liked the look of all of the script style fonts (freestyle, french, lucida, lucida calligraphy, Edwardian, Palace) but they’re not accessible so for anything people will actually see (which is literally nothing) I always go with arial.

53. what is the current state of your hands? Slight rash on one finger because I’m sensitive to what is in a lot of hand washing products apparently (never an issue until the pandemic), one broken finger nail that is a bit shorter than the rest. Not painted nails because energy. I always wear my engagement ring, usually I wear several other rings but with how my skin is being I thought I’d better not for a while.

54. what did you learn from your first job? Bakeries are hell, my circadian rhythm will not adjust to anything besides its natural state for longer than a couple of days at a time no matter how long or hard I try. I can absolutely fall asleep standing up.

A few honest questions: if you believe that Shawn is racist and is willfully surrounding himself with other racists, why not leave this fandom? Why reblog photos of him praising his appearance? Why use him as a face claim in your fanfiction? Why not devote your time and energy to someone else?

ayo these are wonderful and absolutely fair questions to ask. I wasn’t in a mental space to answer them when I initially asked this, and I’m still really not doing well but I guess I’ll give it a go anyway. I can understand how on the basis of a lot of my posts it may appear that I hate Shawn, or that I have some deep ill will for him. I think what’s important to recognize from my posts and my debates that I end up having with people is that I am usually stepping in to defend and rationalize hurt. Like all day on my dash I see white Stans attacking my black counterparts for genuine and deep hurt. The shit with Camilla, the shit with the tweets and the sweeping it under the rug, these are incidents of vulnerability for people. And the vast majority of you do not have the tact or the heart or the ability--I genuinely do not know which it is--to empathize with us, to sympathize with the pain of an artist that has brought you joy and pleasure situating themselves in anti-black rhetoric. And I know that I’m very privileged to be able to voice my opinion in a way that comes across articulate, in a way that many can understand, and that is not a privilege that I take likely. So, I do speak out. I speak out loudly and proudly and I fight for the ability for black people to feel emotions, because at the end of the day some of y’all really need to hear shit like that. And there are times that are absolutely random where I get PISSED. Where I get SAD. Where I get LIVID. And that is valid. There is no script for me that states that I have to hold onto those emotions 24/7 though. I am allowed to be absolutely pissed at Shawn for the shit he’s done, AND I am allowed to continue to support him. These two things aren’t mutually exclusive. And while I can understand why it might be a difficult concept to understand how those two things can exist right next to each other, I truly do find myself in that head space. Please let me try and explain why.

My studies in university and my life experience and my understanding of the creation of whiteness and thus the creation of a hierarchy of race in which white supremacy becomes the dominant ideology for essentially all of culture (and please really think about this and revel in this because it is not a matter of opinion here. This one is just simply a fact) tells me that all white people are born into white supremacy. This is not something that can be helped. This is not something that they ask for. But our world and our societal discourse has historically, and continues to as well, perpetuated the understanding that white people are superior, are God-lier, are smarter, are more moral, are more intelligent, etc. etc. And I don’t mean to give you a critical race theory lesson, but I ask that you understand what this looks like in practice. It means that all white people are racist because they are born into a society that creates them to be. (and this is a startling concept and it’s not necessarily popular in the larger discourse) And so I actually believe that to use the word racism anymore to describe what are actually perpetuations of the white supremacist agenda that is again engraved into the very fabric of our nation and our world, isn’t actually a meaningful use of the word anymore. It means nothing for me to say you’re being racist, because lowkey you are probably being racist on a daily basis just from the culture alone. What is actually probably more useful, at least in my opinion is to determine what are acts of terror or violence, and then what are the more minute day-to-day acts of aggression that perhaps can be moments of opportunity for growth and education. It is a lot more complicated than this, and there is so much grey area but this is the way in which I kind of situate it in my mind.

Essentially what I think is that Shawn is racist. Shawn is racist in the way that Justin Bieber was racist when I stanned for him, in the way that Jesse McCartney was before that, in the way that Ariana is, or Harry Styles, or Taylor Swift, or literally any white fave that one might have. What I as a black person have to decide, and have to wrestle with on a daily basis, is the distinction between the assimilation into a racist society that prioritizes whiteness above all else, and a deeper more vile attack against my humanity. So Shawn said the n-word years back and gave a really shitty apology for it. But, does he support policy that goes against my ability to live. (This is where for me there’s a difference between someone like Shawn and someone like Stirling for example). Does he actively participate in discourse that negatively impacts my livelihood or other black people’s livelihoods? So, yes he’s racist but did he in a sense create a culture within his own fandom to viciously attack and dehumanize a black woman every second of every day continuously (and yes this is a direct comment towards Camilla, bite me) These aren’t easy decisions to make, and my decision is gonna be different from one person’s decision to the next and so on and so forth.

Ultimately for me there is still a really deep connection to Shawn on the basis of music. His music and his energy around music make me feel a way that is comforting, that is uplifting, that makes me happy. And that is worth it to me in this particular moment, which is not to say that it might not change one day. But it is also worth it to call him out on his behavior, to push him a direction of social justice and equity. I LOVE writing for Shawn because I get asks on a daily basis saying that people had literally never thought they would read a story where someone like him could love a fat woman. A black woman. Can you imagine that? That before I started writing there were people who thought these stories would never exist? I believe deeply in the humanity of people and I care so deeply about those around me that it is engraved into every fiber of my being. I want to educate. I want to destroy the status quo. I want to elevate us to a better place, because I think we deserve it. I think Shawn deserves it. I think Black women deserve it. I think we all deserve that shit. And honestly stepping into white dominate spaces is the exact place where the discourse has to change, and the conversations have to be had. So, I’m here. For now. And I really enjoy the content that I create and the people I create that content for. And I genuinely do really still enjoy Shawn. But please don’t ever ask me to separate my experience as a human being from being a fan of blind negligence and unwavering support. I can’t do that. I won’t. And I don’t think Shawn, or anyone else deserves that tbh.

“Were you just touching yourself?” ‘Yeah, what are you gonna do about it?’

It was a lazy Sunday in the Holland house and you were propped up on the couch next to Tom, a bowl of chips resting on your belly. He was watching some golf tournament, but you weren’t really paying attention. Instead, you were focused on his hands, his fingers, that were drawing shapes absentmindedly on your thigh. It was something that he did all the time anyway, but for whatever reason it was driving you crazy today.

Ever since you’d gotten pregnant you’ve been unbelievably horny, and at first, it was great. You dragged Tom to bed every chance you got, and he certainly didn’t complain. You left dinners, parties, and even movies early, unable to go another minute without having him inside you. Watching Tom sneak out of bathrooms and closets after messing around with you, cheeks pink and hair tousled was one of your favorite things and often led to an immediate round two. You were insatiable, and Tom had always called you out for it with an appreciative smirk and nip at your bottom lip.

But as the months passed and your body started to change more and more, your confidence began to dwindle. You still wanted Tom all the time, but you didn’t think he felt the same way. With your fluctuating weight and growing stomach, how could he possibly find you as attractive as he had before? He hadn’t said anything about it of course, but you knew he was too nice to. And it wasn’t just that. You didn’t feel as sexy as you used to, you weren’t as sure of yourself and your body. The pounds you were gaining weren’t just around your stomach and it made you insecure, all of it made you insecure.

You attributed any advance he made towards you as something he felt obligated to do, and shrugged him off with an apologetic smile, so after a while he stopped trying altogether, content to spend afternoons together with you like this, relaxing and watching tv together.

What you didn’t know was that he thought the exact opposite. Seeing you like this actually turned him on. He was in awe that over the fact that your body was creating a whole new life inside of it and you acted like it was almost nothing. You were the strongest woman he knew and all he wanted to do was worship your body and pleasure you for carrying his child, but your sex drive had seemingly taken a dive and he wasn’t about to be selfish while you were doing all the hard work. So he resolved to quietly getting himself off in the shower to thoughts of you and keeping himself in check when you spent time together.

You always tried to pay attention to golf even though you hated it, just for the sake of being able to make conversation with Tom while it was happening, but today your mind was on other things. You watched as some guy you’d never seen before hit a golf ball into the lake and tensed as Tom’s hand squeezed your leg as he exclaimed at the tv.

“Oi, that was fucking awful!” he shouted, not releasing his grip on your leg.

You fought the urge to squirm as heat rushed to your core and sucked in a deep breath through your teeth.

“You alright, love?” Tom asked as he ripped his attention away from the tv, his voice laced with concern.

You shifted on the couch and rolled your neck, rubbing it lightly with your hand.. “Just a muscle cramp,” you lied and cleared your throat.

“Want me to rub your neck?” he offered, turning his body towards you.

“Um, yeah sure,” you agreed (like an idiot), hoping it would take your mind off of what you really wanted him to do to you.

You put the bowl of chips on the coffee table in front of you and scooted back closer to Tom so that you could sit between his legs. He brushed your hair out of the way softly and put one hand on each shoulder, just underneath the collar of your shirt. His hands were cold at first, and you shivered as he moved his fingers along your skin and began to apply pressure. He worked his thumbs into the muscles of your neck as he half-watched the tournament, pressing a little harder whenever a player made a particularly good or bad shot.

The burning between your thighs didn’t subside as he massaged your neck, you didn’t know why you thought it would. You groaned as he started to press a little more firmly, wishing his fingers would wander a little further under your shirt.

“Feel good?” he asked with a little smirk.

“Mhm,” you replied with a nod of you head.

“I’m glad. Is your neck feeling any better?”

You sat up straighter and leaned away from him so that his hands fell away from your shoulders. He looked at you in confusion.

“Um, yeah, thank you.” You swallowed thickly, pressing your legs together.

“Darling?”

“I’m feeling a little sick actually, so I’ll-I’ll be right back,” you leapt up from the couch and made a run for your shared bedroom, slamming the door behind you. You knew Tom wouldn’t follow you because you didn’t like him to see you getting sick, even though he wanted to take care of you.

You heard him call out after you, but couldn’t make out what he was saying. Your mind was ironically too cloudy with thoughts of him, of his hands and all the things he could do with them to make any sense of what he’d said. You shrugged off your t-shirt and sweatpants in record time, leaving your socks on, and jumped onto the bed as quietly as possible. You didn’t waste any time slipping your fingers under the waistband of your panties, gasping when you finally applied pressure to where you needed it most. You were even wetter than you thought, making it easy to work two of your fingers inside of you at once.

You bit your lip, trying to keep as quiet as possible. Your back arched off the bed when you brought your thumb to your clit and you cursed under your breath. The combination of relief and pleasure was indescribable and you felt yourself getting close fast.

You imagined Tom’s fingers pumping in and out of you and his lips on your neck and couldn’t help but moan out a little.

You were nearly over the edge when you heard the bedroom door open and froze, eyes wide, and saw a very red faced Tom.

“What the fuck?” he asked. You read a mixture of anger and lust in his eyes and gulped. “Were you just touching yourself?”

“Um, it isn’t what you think?” you lied even though it was futile.You knew it looked pretty bad, you were completely naked on the bed, hand down your panties, all sweaty and blissed out.

He crossed his arms. “I was listening at the door, y/n, don’t play dumb.”

“You were listening?” you accused, still aware of how guilty you looked with your fingers still literally inside of you.

“Yes, because you said you were sick! I wanted to make sure you were okay!”

“Well, I’m almost done, or at least I was. Don’t worry we can keep watching golf in a minute.”

“I don’t fucking care about golf, y/n,” he spat, then softened a little. “Why didn’t you ask me to help? With, y’know...” he trailed off nodding in the direction of your hand.

Your lip began to tremble. “I didn’t want to make you.”

“Make me? What are you on about?”

You glanced down at your body and shrugged. “I know my body is different and bigger and just...not like it used to be, so I didn’t want to make you do anything if you didn’t think I was as attractive anymore.”

You thought Tom’s eyes might pop out of his head the way he was looking at you. “What on earth made you think that?”

“I dunno, I just don’t feel like myself I guess, and I thought you might think I was gross now or something.”

“Love, no- absolutely not. If anything, it’s the opposite! You look...so gorgeous like that, what you’re doing, creating life, is fucking incredible. I get hard just thinking about you these days,” he admitted sheepishly.

“Wait, really?” you asked, sitting up a little more.

words can’t describe how impressed i am by how much you bring your muses to life bwaze. i used to like, not really give a darn heck about metal sonic at all? but after that first thread we had where sonic and proxy got into a fight, i was immediately hooked. you just do such an incredible job at fleshing out characters that i otherwise wouldn’t have really thought much of before and you just have this unique and interesting spin on them that feels fresh. i love the way you play the chao and whisper’s wisps and atia is just a little gremlin but i love them so much, and i’ve literally never seen anyone play chaos before. you just have this way of utilizing that potential that your characters and concepts have and it’s just really awesome to watch. i love it. absolutely a stellar roleplayer. absolutely stellar mun!!

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. i adore how you write shadow. i’m constantly blown away by how authentic he always feels and how realistic you write him while still remaining accurate and true to his character. like i legit cannot even think of any other place or media i’ve seen besides the games themselves (before sega started botching up his character anyway) where he’s portrayed as accurately as you write him. you manage to balance the serious, aloof, hostile side of him with his playful, competitive, smug side AND the inner naive, almost child like side almost perfectly. and then there’s more, because you add so much depth to him and realistically expand on so many unexplored facets of his character and his roots !! you can just tell this is a character who’s endured so many hardships and is still trying to recover and move on, and despite everything that’s hardened him into the person he is today he still has that innocent curiosity about the world and it makes me so emo every. single. time. you just put so much work into him and it shows, from your icons to your headcanon posts, to even the most minute detail. even when you host events you just go So Hard at it you’re literally out here setting the standard dude. and don’t even get me started on your writing style. i was hooked by the very first thread we did, i felt like i could never hold a candle to it honestly. just. the way you narrate shadow’s feelings and thoughts, how you capture his actions, his movement, his speech patterns, is just so good. and your vocabulary is so colorful and rich. just. hgnfhg its top tier content ALRIGHT you inspire me to push myself and to keep improving all the time and i have to say i couldn’t ask for a better writing partner. i love you so much eph 💕💕💕
