Charles enters the living room, ensuring the door closes softly behind him to avoid disturbing his little girl. Running his fingers over his beard, he examines the envelope in his hand and sighs. Y/N’s best friend pressed it into his hand at a dinner party the previous evening, insisting he watch it as soon as he finds the time. And here he is now, holding the thin envelope.

If someone had told him when he was younger that he’d get emotional over something as simple as seeing his wife’s handwriting on paper, he would have scoffed in disbelief. Not him, that would have seemed absurd. Yet here he is, feeling a lump form in his throat over mere black ink on paper.

As peculiar as it seems, he brings the envelope to his nose, and memories of Y/N flood his mind. He can almost feel her soothing touch as she works the knots out of his back after a gruelling day of racing. Inhaling, he feels Y/N’s sweet scent—it is as comforting as her smile.

A smile tugs at Charles' lips as he pictures that infectious grin that lit up his wife’s face at the most unexpected moments. It was one of the things he loved most about her—she had a way of bringing brightness to even the darkest of days.

Shaking his head, he snaps out of the trance, shifting deeper into the living room until he sinks into the welcoming embrace of the couch. There, he retrieves the laptop resting on the coffee table, feeling the weight of the moment as he opens the envelope and extracts a flash drive from within. Rolling it between his fingers, he inserts it into the side of his laptop with a determined motion.

Once all is in place, he watches a file labelled “To my dearest Lover, brightest Heart, and deepest Soul” materialise in his list of files. The sight catches him off guard—his throat constricts, making each breath a struggle, and his eyes well up, though he fights against the tears. Not now. He can't afford it. Allowing himself to be consumed by grief would mean losing precious time, time he needs for his daughter waiting in her playroom down the hallway.

He takes a moment to regain composure, squeezing his eyes shut, focusing on the rhythm of his breath until the tension in his chest begins to ease. With a sharp intake of air, he opens his eyes wide and taps the file, revealing a video. Running his teeth over his lower lip, he hovers the pointer over the play button, then taps the mousepad with a steady hand.

The video opens with Y/N seated on the very same pale couch he’s currently occupying. He places both hands onto the soft sofa, yearning for a connection, a way to feel her, even though he knows he can’t—touching the past is impossible.

Y/N walks toward the camera, readjusting it before taking three steps backward and retaking her seat. Inhaling deeply, she hesitates, her mouth opening, then closing again, like a fish out of water.

“Mon cœur,” Charles whispers, moving the laptop onto the coffee table.

“Hmm,” Y/N drops her hands into her lap and smooths down her flowery dress. She stares directly at the camera, tilting her head sideways with a crooked smile. “I don’t know where to start.”

Her eyes widen. “After all this planning, I still don’t know where to begin.” She lets out a few chuckles and then purses her lips. “Well, I suppose greetings are in order?”

Her expression softens as her brows furrow. “Hello, my darling, my world, my everything.”

“Hey,” Charles whispers, his throat tight with emotion, barely allowing sound to escape.

“Although I'm very happy to see you, if you’re watching this, it means you're not living as I want you to,” Y/N's voice trembles, causing her to pause and swallow. “I know it’s hard, baby. I don’t expect this to be easy on you, but I don’t want you to spend the rest of your life looking back at us in sadness, you know?”

Charles leans forward, elbows on his lap, eyes fixed on the screen, his face tinged with a faint shade of red.

“Remember our first date, when we had to cancel our reservations at that restaurant because you felt sick on the way there?” Y/N bursts into laughter but quickly stifles it, her hand covering her mouth.

“No, no,” Charles pleads softly, shaking his head, “please don’t hide your beautiful smile, my love.”

“It’s not like there was anything you could do about being sick, but I remember feeling miffed because I already had a stressful day, so for you to cancel just like that, it irritated me,” she reminisces with a nod. “But you were quite pale, so I wanted to make sure you got home alright. And we walked, barely talked,” she giggles, the joy reaching her eyes, “but then this little kid appeared, his name was…”

“Benny,” they both say simultaneously, a faint smile tugging at one corner of Charles' lips.

"Boy, was he excited to meet you, his idol. It was like seeing a completely different person. You became someone entirely new for this little boy whom you didn’t even know. Nobody forced you to take time out of your day when he came running, his arms wide open," Y/N says, extending her arms along with the words. "You could’ve just walked away. I mean, you had a reason to: you were sick."

Pausing for a moment, Y/N sits up straighter, leaning forward and shaking her head. "But you didn’t. You put on a brave face, and you turned into Benny’s hero and so much more. I think we stood there with his parents for about half an hour, and you didn’t complain once. And that’s when I knew."

Y/N nods, crossing her legs and slinging one hand behind the sofa. "That’s when I knew you could be the man I was going to marry. And turns out you were," she says, smiling sheepishly. "The love you have for people, for our daughter, it’s… it’s so profound, it’s boundless. So don’t limit it. Don’t you dare limit yourself just because I’m not around anymore."

Her expression turns serious as she exhales. “You’re such a bright light. You bring happiness and purity into people’s lives—into my life,” Y/N presses her hand against her chest. “I don’t want you to dim it. I want you to shine for as long as that candle burns. Don’t let it die prematurely because of bad happenings. There’s so much more to love, to live, to enjoy. And while you may not see me at your side anymore, holding onto D/N, I’m right here.”

Charles sniffles, folding his hands over his mouth as he swallows his sobs, while Y/N points to her heart.

“I’m with you forever and always. I’m protecting you and D/N, and I’m watching over you, making sure everything’s alright.” Y/N releases a sigh before chewing at her bottom lip with a wistful smile. “And part of that means making space for more love, for you. You have a big heart, you know? There’s enough room for you to find happiness with someone new. There’s no shame in it, and there’s no guilt in it. It’s what makes being alive such a beautiful thing: your love is yours, and it’s not confined to just one or two people. You can spread it, and still, our love will remain unchanged.”

Tears stream down the sides of Charles' cheeks as he struggles to maintain his composure, his eyes fixated on the screen as if afraid that if he peels his gaze away for one second, his wife will disappear.

Y/N briefly looks off to the side, her attention seemingly caught by something in the room, before snapping her head back to the camera with a bright smile.

“It seems I have to go,” her shoulders sink.

Charles leans forward, the screen mere inches away from his face, as he strokes the outline of Y/N’s face on the screen, whispering desperately, “Please don’t, mon cœur…”

“I love you so, so much. You and D/N are the most precious gifts, the greatest joys I have had the privilege to experience, so please, please,” she claps her hands together, moving them back and forth, “please…when I die, I want you to live.”

Y/N rises from the couch and walks towards the screen, her eyes unwavering for even a moment. “Give my little girl all my love, and kiss and hug her extra tight for as long as you can, for me.”

Offering one final smile, she blows a kiss at the screen. “I love you. Please don’t stop. Don't stop loving and don't stop living.”

The video freezes with Y/N frozen in place, a beautiful smile etched onto her lips, filled with the purest form of love.

Feeling suddenly overwhelmed, Charles collapses, the weight of the world pressing down on him. He drops his face into his hands and releases all of it: sob after sob after sob. There’s something liberating about finally letting go; the burden pours out of him, leaving behind a fragile yet tranquil Charles as he gazes at the still shot of his beloved wife, whom he adores so deeply.

A soft click draws his attention to the door just in time for it to creak open slowly, revealing his little girl standing there, her favourite yellow teddy bear clutched tightly in her arms.

“Papa,” her voice floats like a gentle breeze.

Charles smiles, opening his arms wide as she runs towards him. He's momentarily winded as she reaches him, but he quickly regains his composure and lifts her onto his lap.

“Hello, my love,” he whispers, touching his forehead to hers.

Her tiny hand pats his cheek, her expression filled with concern. “You’re crying?”

Charles shakes his head, trying to reassure her. “Happy tears,” he explains, “look.” He points at the screen, where Y/N's serene face is frozen in time.

“Maman!” D/N exclaims, slipping from his lap and heading towards the screen. Her small hands tap the screen eagerly as she calls out, “Maman! Maman! Maman!”

“Yes,” Charles swallows, ignoring the pang in his chest as he shifts his focus to his little girl. “You want to see Maman, huh?”

He rises from the sofa and lifts D/N into the air, settling her on his hip. “How about we go take a look at the photo albums, okay? There are lots of beautiful pictures of Maman in there, alright?”

“Maman! Maman! Maman!” D/N continues to exclaim, squirming excitedly in his arms as they walk through the door and down the hallway into the living room.

Kitty’s friendliness is just so sweet to me like I love that after a few episodes Alison accepts Kitty as a good friend but like before that when Kitty wants a sleepover which Alison basically denies her, I’m like O.o Kitty pls be my best friend ily!!

Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Géza Anda

I wanted to include at least a little bit of music from each of the ghosts time frame so I decided on a little bit of Mozart for Kitty - who, given when she lived and the familial culture at the time, probably played an instrument with piano being entirely probable.

Wildest Dreams - Duomo

I wanted to include at least one Bridgerton song for Kitty because I mean it’s obvious how influential issues brought up in the show would be on Kitty’s life. She was alive just before Bridgerton is set (1813 - Kitty died in the late 1700s) so I think she’d appreciate the modern song with a twist, and obviously she’d love the all the dances and everything.

Walking On Sunshine - Katrina & The Waves

An easy choice. I mean, it’s literally the go to song for people who are incredibly happy and optimistic. I didn’t want to include tons of overly happy songs for Kitty because I find her overwhelming happiness to be tinged with such sadness — she’s positive to a fault and it’s so sad what she went through during her life but yeah it’s a nice song for her.

Forever Young - Alphaville

I read somewhere that Kitty is canonically a teenager - I don’t know if that’s true so if someone could enlighten me that would be really great. But yeah is Kitty the youngest ghosts, surely it’s her or Thomas right? Anyway, Kitty will be forever young and I find that a weird concept?? That’s my in depth analysis XD

Enter One - Sol Seppy

I have so so so so so so so so much love for this song I think it’s just gorgeous. Okay but like assuming Kitty grew up at Button House (or I assume Higham House at the time) then she would’ve grown up literally from a little kid in front of some of the other ghosts (Robin, Humphrey, Mary and Annie) so like they witnessed whatever trauma and/or neglect Kitty went through. Ages ago I read someone talking about the ghosts watching her grow up and then taking care of her for the first time after she died (I can’t find the post) so like this verse: “To a friend, A sister in need, Who is not alone, And they are surrounding her, And they will enfold her outstretched hand, In our love” is just so beautiful for that moment when they finally get to take her away from her family which I love and adore and uhhhhh it’s so good, it’s such a good song.

Shake It Off - Taylor Swift

Okay from me legit crying over Kitty’s life and emotional stuff to just being like yeah this is a happy song and just something to dance to!!

Magnificent (She Says) - Elbow

This song just has gorgeous vibes and given that Kitty has just gorgeous vibes as well it was impossible for me not to include it.

Good Day - The Dresden Dolls

Someone suggested The Dresden Dolls for Kitty on my previous music post and I’d never heard of them before I’m a bit in love now… like the dark cabaret style and creepy sorta vocals and piano are just <3 <3 Like damn! And yeah I think this song is Kitty-like cause like when Alison was kinda ignoring her in ALN she got really upset as if this was a regular occurrence in her life as well like her sister or maybe her parents ignoring her in favour of her sister maybe??

Optimistic - Radiohead

“And remember: as long as you try your best.” I think that line is probably the moment of Kitty’s “personality introduction” so I kinda had to include something similar.

Devil Town - Cavetown

Okay I know this song is about parental divorce but I kinda like to apply it a bit more widely to broken families and dysfunctional households which Kitty obviously experienced. I think also the line “nevermind, I’ll settle for two birthdays” shows a kind of optimism in the face of family trauma and the acceptance that bad things often have to be spun in a positive light to cope with it.

growing up is getting old - VICTORIA

Kitty angst, Kitty angst, Kitty angst!!! After the episode descriptions we got today I am really really hoping for much more of a deep dive into Kitty’s emotions. I just want to know more about her life, and I just want the other ghosts to be protective and loving of her O.O

Kitty’s urge to be around Alison and do what’s best for her is just what I love more than anything. I really love that scene she has with the Captain where he’s like “you one Alison?” And “You want what’s best for her” like Cap/Kitty solidarity is what I live for (more to come in season 3????)

I feel like with Alison arriving at the house Kitty finally has the opportunity to be a young woman again?? If that makes sense. This song just gives me major girly sleepover vibes which I think is quite fitting. I find it interesting that as soon as Alison can see the ghosts (and accepts that she can see them) the first thing Kitty asks of Alison is to have a sleepover, maybe she sees that as the true mark of friendship? Perhaps her sister was always having sleepovers with her friends and Kitty wanted to join? I want to know Kitty’s backstory more than anyones, I think she’s fascinating!!

- @coleglend is the most underappreciated person in this fandom I swear. Or, who was in this fandom- Cole is off doing other things besides OnS, but regardless, she is so very amazing and beyond talented. I can’t even express how beautiful her art is and the emotions each piece sparks in me. Even her new Marvel artworks are just breathtaking and I truly admire them!!! I don’t know anyone who can make such detailed, visually engaging art- everything she creates belongs in a museum I swear. I want to print them and frame them for my walls!!! I look at her art all the time!!! Now that I’ve established how gorgeous her art is, talk about Cole as a person! She’s so sweet and kind and I love seeing her little posts on Instagram and such, even though I can’t understand most of them, I like seeing that she’s with friends and having a good time.

- @linnpuzzle is one of the coolest most amazing people in this fandom!!! Her art is STUNNING and as she knows, I will drop everything to commission her and buy her merch because I just am addicted to her gorgeous art!!! I am so honored to have some of her art as part of my collection of OnS things and I am forever going to treasure the commissions I’ve purchased from her!! Besides being a great artist, I love talking with Linn, too! “I’ve never been good at this. I don’t do relationships. But I- I want to try with you” Marlene overheard through the slightly ajar bedroom door.

She looked at Sirius with a smirk on her face and he chuckled silently, shaking his head from side to side.

They’ve been there, years and years before. When the war was at its peak, when life was uncertain and they were as reckless as it was humanly possible for someone to be. And he had already told her that same exact words, with shaking hands and a messy hair that indicated the amount of sleepless nights he had gone through thinking about the fact that, yes, he had fallen in love with the cold-hearted Marlene McKinnon.

Now, over twenty years later, there they were, listening to a conversation they shouldn’t be listening, exchanging glances with each sentence that was spoken as if they were two blabbermouth neighbours.

“I don’t know what to say, Gale.” James’ youngest daughter, Ivy said quietly. “I’ve been wanting to hear this since forever, but… I’m afraid. It’s not that I don’t believe in you, it’s just I don’t think this - you and me - is going to work out. We’re way too different people.”

Marlene and Sirius heard their own son sighing loudly and they both could picture the dark-haired boy scratching the back of his neck just like his father. The boy had taken after Sirius so much it was mesmerizing to see them together, they seemed like two Doppelgängers.

“We are different, Ivy, but we lo-” Gale coughed. “We like each other. A lot. I’ve never felt this way before, you’re the first girl who made me want to actually date.”

Sirius poked Marlene on the ribs. “He got that from you, McKinnon. It took you seven months to be able to pronounce the word ‘love’ without having a mental breakdown and doubting your whole existence.” He murmured close to her ear.

She rolled her eyes. “Are you sure you aren’t talking about yourself? He totally got it from you. I said I loved you way before you did.”

“It doesn’t count if you said to yourself inside your own head, McKinnon, do you know that?”

“Are you sure this is what you want, Gale?” They heard Ivy asking inside the bedroom and stopped talking.  “You’re not going to miss messing around with the other girls at Hogwarts?”

Gale’s strong steps echoed through the room and Sirius imagined he’d done what he had told him to do: to be as close to Ivy as he could so she could feel he wasn’t being distant, nor cold; he was there, he was present, he meant every word that he was saying.

“Ivy, you’re the only girl that I want to mess around with. Bloody hell, I even want to give you flowers and chocolates and write stupid romantic letters for you. I’ll do anything in my power to make you happy and I want you to be sure I’m not in doubt when I say I want to be by your side. Trust me.”

Marlene smiled to herself, fighting sneaky tears that filled her eyes. She had never been the emotional type of mum, who cried with every spectacular thing their son or daughter has done. But it was nearly impossible not to feel proud of the boy who stood on the other side of the wall. He was as stubborn as both of his parents, he was lazy and had had so many detentions the director wouldn’t even call Sirius and Marlene to go there and talk to him. However, at the same time, he was one of the kindest people Marlene had ever met. Even if compared to his sisters, Gale was the most gentle one, he truly cared about other people, he wanted to be good even when he was planning a prank with his friends. He was a womanizer just like his father, but he never broke a heart intentionally. He’d cared for every single girl he had been with and no one could deny that.

And it just made her so damn proud of him. If she was to be honest, she could say with certainty that she wasn’t the one responsible for teaching Gale to be like that. She was known to be selfish and even though Sirius and her tried to teach their kids all the good stuff, it was hard for them to tell them to do something when they themselves didn’t do it. Surely, they weren’t bad people and they didn’t mean no harm, but they couldn’t lie and say they were the most caring people in the world. They’ve done things that were good for everyone, like fighting in two wars and winning, but still they were just trying to survive.

“I feel like you’re going to make me regret this, Gale Black.” Both Sirius and Marlene could notice that she was smiling by the way she spoke. “But I do trust you and I really want to try and of course I want to be with you and I-”

She stopped mid-sentence and everything went dead silent for a split second till Sirius overheard a muffled groan. He looked over to Marlene and seized her waist.

“I doubtedly think you want to listen to our son having sex.” He whispered with a disgusted expression on his face.

Marlene shook her head. “Let’s get out of here.”

They went downstairs and headed to the kitchen, where Marlene grabbed a kettled and started to make tea. She certainly did not like to think of how aging has changed her, but little facts as making a cup of tea instead of pouring a glass of wine reminded her of how time had flown.

“Do you think James will try to kill him?” She asked her husband who stood on the counter looking at her, completely lost with thoughts.

“He’ll be mad and will act all protective over Ivy, but we know he just wants the best for her. After what he and Lily have gone through with Harry I doubtedly think they’ll deprive her of anything.” He shrugged. “Besides, we won’t let him touch Gale anyway.”

She chuckled lightly and got two mugs from the cupboard and filled them with tea, milk and three spoons of brown sugar as she always did. Sirius then sipped the steaming fruit-flavoured tea and burned his tongue as he always did.

“I think you’re right, but it won’t be easy for James to accept the fact that his little girl has grown up.” Marlene replied while she moved her finger in small circles in the air and used magic to cool down her tea. “As it wasn’t easy for you to do the same some years ago.”

Sirius shook his head. He didn’t even liked to remember how tragic it was to find out both of his baby girls were moving out of his house. It was the first time he cried since the day they were born and this meant something.

“He’ll get over it.” He said, knowing deep down inside that James wouldn’t get over it just like he hasn’t.

Here is a little fanfic before I leave, and mostly for our favorite idol's birthday! May you be the happiest girl in the world, You-chan, we all love you so much!♥ less than Riko, of course

→ Established YouRiko, in a long-distance relationship ... Set 3years after the anime.

Right after closing the door of the small apartment behind her, You carelessly drops her bag onto the floor and quickly makes her way to the bedroom, tightly holding her smartphone in one hand. She barely has time to slump onto the bed that the 'connecting' screen vanishes, only to be replaced by Riko's smiling face :

"Happy birthday to you~ You-chan~" She singsongs, before gifting You with the most adorable and beautiful smile she has ever seen.

"Thank you, thank you, Riko-chan!" The birthday girl widely beams in front of her phone, but she can't even add something else that Riko enthusiastically butts in,

"So, how was your day? Did your friends give you presents?"

"It was nice! They brought me to a nice restaurant and they even paid for me! They gave me presents too, including the cap I saw to a store last time!"

"Oh, really? The blue one with some stripes on it?"

"Yes! Look- ah, wait, it's in my bag."

Riko's second gift today is her sweet giggle, and You wishes it could echo in the apartment forever. She is quick to retrieve her bag and bring it in her bedroom, opening it before placing the new cap on the top of her head, instantly showing it to Riko thanks to the magic video call. She even poses a few times, making the music student laugh.

"As usual, it fits you, You-chan!" A smile graces Riko's face as she says this, before she moves her own phone, drawing her girlfriend's attention. She switches the camera, and You's eyes widen when she spots a medium package, wrapped in a white with silver arabesques gift paper. "And this will be for you, but next week, when you come back!"

"Mou, Riko-chan! You can't show me right now, especially if I have to wait!"

"But I just did," Riko fakes an innocent smile as she appears on You's screen again, before blowing a kiss. "It's to make sure that you'll come next time, at least."

"Riko-chan ..." You lightly pouts, sitting on the bed and hugging a pillow with her free arm, "I had to stay last time, for an exam ..."

"I know, I know, I'm just kidding!" Riko gently grins ; but it falters right after, "I just miss you a lot ..."

You's gaze softens, at the same time as her features sadden, matching Riko's.

"Yeah ... I miss you a lot, too, Riko-chan ..." A sigh, and she adds, "We can't even stay on the phone tonight, because you're going to eat with your dad ... Right?"

"Yes. He came back yesterday in the evening and he's leaving tomorrow before noon, so he wanted to have dinner with me so we could, you know, make up for lost time."

"But that's great Riko-chan!"

"I would have preferred to spend this evening with you, You-chan!" Riko puffs out her cheeks at this, looking away, in a real pouting way.

"But you don't even know when he'll come back after that!"

"Sure, but still, I'd rather be with you for your birthday! ... ... Anyway, I'm planning on telling him. For the two of us, I mean."

"... WH-WHAT?!"

After the initial shock, some sweet nothings were exchanged, and Riko eventually had to leave to get ready for the dinner with her father. You reluctantly hung up and dragged her feet to the bathroom. She quickly got lost in her thoughts while taking a shower, wishing that it was already the day, so she could leave for the train station and be welcomed by her girlfriend's warm and loving embrace at their meeting point at the large train station in Numazu.

And, as she was ready to go about her business in order to keep her mind off things -things, meaning Riko-, a few phone calls interrupted her. Six, precisely. From all the former members of the ex idol group, Aqours.

Kanan was the first to call her. After thanking her, You quickly learnt that she finally moved her ass and asked Chika out -who happily accepted, of course.

Then, it was Mari. Who couldn't help and made the birthday girl's embarrass-o-meter reach an incredible level by saying, "Oh, but I know that you can't wait for next week You-chan~ You can't wait for having the NIGHT of your life with Riko-chan, right?~ Oh! You remind me that Dia has been very stressed, lately, I should definitely let her have the night of her life tonight!"

Ruby and Hanamaru called at the same time, from Ruby's phone, as they were both spending the evening together. They seriously wished they could be with You tonight, to celebrate her birthday ; but the latter reassured them that it was alright, because they were definitely partying the week after. As she hung up, she smiled to herself : these two remembered her of how cute two girls are when they start dating.

The next one was Yoshiko ... Who swore that she would have never forgotten one of her little demons' birthday. Never!

Then, it was Dia. Dia will always be Dia, and, as usual, she cut to the chase. You silently wished her good luck when she told her that Mari wanted her to come over (again).

And, finally, Chika was the last one to call her. Of course, she had already sent her a message early in the morning ... At 2AM, exactly. It woke You up and, in order to have her revenge, You teased her and tried to embarrass Chika concerning her new relationship ... And it worked. Who knew the hyperactive Takami Chika could become so shy when it came to her love life?

After all those adorable calls, You decides to pass the time making progress in her homework, as to not be too bothered by that when she comes back to Numazu for the weekend. In the end, she botches the whole thing and gives up, missing Riko's private lessons -which were way more entertaining ...-, leaving her small bedroom to go prepare a sandwich. Unfortunately, this one will never be as good as the ones Riko prepares each time the two of them go on a romantic picnic.

A tender smile paints her lips at the thought of all the dates they had in a random park, of all the late-night picnics on the beach they had, especially during their last year in high school.

Pulling out her phone from the pocket of her shorts, the ashen haired young woman quickly types a 'miss u so much Riko-chan', before hitting the 'Send' button and biting in the ham sandwich.

It is only five minutes after sending her message that You got a reply : 'Miss you too You-chan, ILY ♡'.

Two sudden knocks on the door startle the girl awake, almost making tumble from the couch onto the floor ... She lets out a loud and tired growl as she slowly sits up, cursing at herself for falling asleep here once again -her back always ends up hurting a lot after sleeping on this mediocre sofa bed.

Who the hell-, she glances at the hour displayed on the screen of her phone : 23:42, -who is it, at this hour ...

While rubbing her eyes and tiredly combing her messy hair with her fingers, You makes her way to the door, wondering who is knocking her door at this hour. Deep inside, she hopes that it's not her college friends : they are going to call her granny if they see her with such a sleepy face on the evening of her birthday, and she will never hear the end of it. She hides a yawn behind her hand and reluctantly opens the door, really not wanting to see her four friends right now, at this hour, and they can just go out dancing without her and-

A loud gasp escapes her mouth as her eyes land on a pair of loving amber irises, illuminated by an ecstatic smile paiting two glossy pink lips. She does not have time to properly react and greet the oh-so-unexpected-and-so-wanted girl, because the latter has already flung herself into You's arms, their lips smashing in a thrilled peck ... Which quickly turns into a passionate make out session. You blindly shuts the door close with a kick, her arms wrapped around Riko's waist, tightly holding her. Close. Very close.

This kiss -the first real one after a month not being by the other's side- leaves them breathless as they stare at each other, Riko's fingers entangled in You's soft curls.

"Surprise," Riko whispers, gently pressing their noses together, their breaths mingling.

"Riko-chan ... You're the best," You whispers back, as if talking too loudly was going to break the incredible atmosphere surrounding them.

Their lips collide again -once, twice, ...-, but this time in an almost tentative kiss. As if they had to get used to each other again. As if they had to make sure everything was real, that the girl against them really was the person they love the most. This time, the kisses are sweet, fragile, pure.

And You would have never wanted another gift than this one : her girlfriend, lying to her about a fake dinner with a father she hasn't seen in a long time, suddenly showing up very late at her small and lonely apartment, to surprise her for her birthday.

But when this thought hits her, You's sapphire eyes widen in realization, and she breaks the kiss, causing Riko to look at her, baffled.

"Riko-chan! What about my super big gift?!" She suddenly asks, remembering the medium package wrapped in a very cute present paper.

She is met by a soft chuckle, "Didn't I tell you that you're going to have it next week?"

The swimmer only pouts, sticking out her lower lip and intensely looking at Riko with some puppy eyes ... A delicate hand is placed on her cheek, and You gives a faint smile, clearly knowing that the puppy eyes always work.

"Oh no, don't make that face You-chan ..." Riko softly sighs, stealing her a quick kiss, before withdrawing her hand.  "Because I have a replacement gift, if you want to."

And, with this, Riko brings her hands to the buttons of her blouse, slowly undoing them ... And letting her lover relish the new sight : her nice round breasts, cupped in a lacy dark crimson bra.

You instinctively licks her lips, completely absorbed, "... This one is new ... Isn't it ..?"

Riko stays silent and slowly nods her head, grinning. Her heart skips a wild beat when You places two firm hands on her hips, drawing her closer and closer.

"I'll gladly take this gift, Sakurauchi Riko."

Dear Tanis,

So it's Friday, March 31st. And I'm not okay. My favorite blog is closing today. And I'm just not okay. This blog is the reason for my blog being here today. This blog is the reason I woke up some mornings. Because I knew there were still 38473838 stories I have yet to read. (Seriously that girl has written over 500 stories wtf) 

Those stories gave me advice and strength to keep going. I have no idea where I'd be without that blog. It literally is my life. I am in literal tears as I write this because I just won't know what to do after today. That blog has stories that I still think of to this day. 

One of my personal favorites is the one where Joe is in a coma and the reader talks to him everyday. (Please, Wake Up) 

But I also loved Shoutout To My Ex, it was just so cute.

OMG HOW ABOUT T-Shirt Reveal. OMG THAT ONE WAS SO CUTE. I CANT. 

Out Of Place was so bloody adorable omg. Why can't Zoe be my best friend. 

Divorced Birthday was also good. Even though I don't have divorced parents, it was a good read. 

We Stand With WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. I WAS SO HAPPY READING IT AND IT MADE ME FEEL SO GOOD ABOUT MYSELF OML.

I honestly don't think there's one story that I don't like on this blog. But those are just some of my faves.

I remember when I first found the blog, I was in shock as to how the masterlist had not one BUT two parts. (Now it has three wtf) I remember that I was determined to read them in order... then I clicked on the first one (1 Year. 12 Months. 365. Days) And I couldn't do it. The very first story is one about how Joe died and I was like "wtf is wrong with the author". 

So then I was like "I'll read it backwards." So I did. I started at Z and worked my way up. (Also those two smuts oml bless her) 

And about 3-4 days (i had already finished all of her stories on the masterlist) after I found that blog, the author took a break. And I was D E V E S T A T E D. I was a literal mess. I hated Tanis for a while (not anymore tho bc ur a smol bean and ily).

Then she came back after what seemed like a lifetime and I was happy again. I was getting two stories a day from my favorite writer. Some, that were even my requests. 

And then something crazy happened. 

Tanis noticed me.

If you weren't here back then, I made a post called "Announcement" and she reblogged it adding her own wise words to mine. 

And let me tell you.

I absolutely D I E D.

I was freaking out. I screenshotted it and posted it saying how it was so shocked. 

And then something even crazier happened.

Tanis followed me.

You thought I freaked out before? Oh my god I was a mess. I was in tears, I was flailing on my bed as I texted Olivia and Sol. I wasn't okay.

So then everything quieted down for a bit. I continued reading her stories. And she continued to make me a happy reader.

But then she posted "We Need to Talk" And my heart broke. I think I cried for a solid hour that day. I understood where she was coming from, but I knew that I wasn't going to be able to handle it.

(Which is why I'm writing this)

So then I realized that I have to make the most of it. So I started not reading her stories. I saved up four or five so I would have some that I haven't read after she was gone (she's not dying omg why am i like this).

Anyways, that didn't work. I read them this morning because I couldn't NOT read my mom's writing (lol).

So about a week ago I was just living life, scrolling through Tumblr. And then something hit me. Tanis was ending her blog in 8 days. Once again the tears began rolling. So I sent her an ask saying how sad I was and stuff. But it didn't help. My favorite blog was ending and I couldn't do anything about it.

And she continued to say that she'll still have @tizniz and @thatchermaynardimagines . And I'm not gonna lie, my first thought was "fuck that. It's not the same". Luckily, I now know that it's still gonna be the same person, just not in the same setting. And that took some time to wrap my head around.

I am NOT writing this to make Tanis feel bad. That's not what this is meant for at all. 

This is meant for me to show Tanis how much she has changed my life. How much I've grown because of her. How much I'll miss her.

So here it is:

I'll miss you so fucking much Tanis. You have changed my life in too many ways to count. You made me feel loved and known. You made me cry (happy and sad tears). You gave me advice, through your stories and through the talks we've had. You showed me what an amazing writer looks like. You never gave up on me and you support me. You made me see a new point of view on life. You made me realize that life is so much more than I thought. And it's worth living. You will always be my favorite imagine blog. Forever and always❤️
