Hey! I saw your poll on Dungeon Meshi fanfics and wanted to ask if you could write a little fluffy something about fem reader x Laios? Idk, maybe they’re forced to share a sleeping bag in the dungeon and end up cuddling or kissing or something like that? I’m really desperate for some Laios fluff because all the ffs I found so far are really smutty haha. Anyway, hope you’re doing well and thanks for taking the time to read this <3
OHHH MY GOD MY FIRST DUNGEON MESHI REQUEST LETS GOOOO
Content: Laios Touden x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None
Notes: I haven't written something in months so sorry if this is weird!!! This is also my first time writing Laios so please excuse me if he's OOC
• ───────────────── •
Today had been awful for you. Laios had gotten your party into a bunch of trouble today with monsters. First, a giant man-eating plant cocooned you and Marcille, leaving the boys to have to save you two. Then, a slime dropped on your head, ruining your clothes and sleeping bag. Then finally, as you were washing your traveling clothes and sleeping bag, fucking Laios ran past you while chasing after a walking mushroom, splashing mud onto your new clean clothes.
You had yelled out in frustration when Laios had ran past you, causing him to stop and turn around and lose the mushroom.
"(Y/n)? What's wrong?" He asked.
"You wanna know what's wrong, Laios?! This whole day! It all sucks! There's no way I'll be able to wash and dry my sleeping bag and my traveling clothes by morning now!" You yelled, pointing between the tall man and your dirty laundry.
Laios blinked a few times, the gears turning in his head. "I have a solution."
"What, Laios? What could you possibly have? It's not like you have a machine that can wash and dry these in, oh I don't know, two hours?" You were incredibly frustrated.
"Well, no, but...I can give up my sleeping bag and some of my clothes for you." Laios spoke sheepishly.
All at once, your anger dissipated. "Wait, Laios, no. I'm just frustrated at today. You don't need to give me anything at all."
"Well, it's been my fault all this stuff happened to you anyway," Laios rubbed the back of his neck. "Let me just do this for you."
Blinking a few times yourself, you weighed your options. Laios was the party leader. He needed his rest and proper clothing in order to function in this dungeon. But, did you really want to sleep on the dirty floor and dirty yourself and another pair of clothes? Sighing, you nodded.
"Fine. But that doesn't mean I feel good about you sleeping on the ground."
"Who said I was sleeping on the ground?" Laios scratched his cheek softly.
You paused and stared up at him. He gave you a soft smile and a hopeful look. Probably hoping you'd still say yes, now knowing what you know.
"What...wait...aren't...isn't your sleeping bag for one?" You stuttered.
"Well yeah, but I figure if we sleep on our sides, we'll act like one whole person and it'll be fine!" Laios grinned.
Your heart began to thump wildly in your chest. Sharing a sleeping bag...with Laios...in front of the group...you'd never hear the end of it! Maybe Senshi would leave you alone, but Marcille and Chilchuck would definitely tease you and ask about your feelings for Laios.
Feelings...you had some for Laios, but you never got the chance to give it a label. You didn't know if it was a one-off feeling, or a big fat crush on the blond tall man in front of you.
"Hello? Earth to (Y/n)?" Laios waves his hand in front of your face.
Blinking a few times, you sigh. "Alright, we can share a sleeping bag."
• ───────────────── •
The rest of the day came and went, with your clothes being hung up to dry through the night. Everybody got in their sleeping bags aside from Senshi, who had first watch tonight. Laios got in his bag and laid on his side, keeping the other side open and looking up at you with such hopeful eyes.
"Wait, (Y/n), if your sleeping bag is drying, where are you going to sleep?" Marcille asked, snug in her sleeping bag.
"She's sleeping with me." Laios stated matter-of-factly.
Silence fell over the camp, until Marcille and Chilchuck screamed "WHAT?!"
Senshi however, pat Laios' head. "Good job finally gaining some courage, Laios."
"Wha- Senshi!" Laios blushed, waving the dwarf off. "Come on, (Y/n), it's warm in here."
Taking a deep breath in and out, you walked towards him and got into the bag next to him, making sure to face him. "There...are you happy?"
"The happiest."
Laios then leaned forward and gave you a peck on the forehead. Your face went beet red, steam blowing out of your ears. Marcille and Chilchuck both screamed again, then began calling Laios things like pervert, and demanding Marcille share a sleeping bag with you instead.
• ───────────────── •
After everyone calmed down, and gone to bed (except Senshi), you thought Laios was asleep. Your own eyes were closed, but you could barely sleep with how hard your heart was pumping in your chest. The sleeping bag was snug, it forced Laios to wrap his arms around your body.
You kept thinking about his forehead kiss earlier. Did he like you? Did you like him? Or was he doing that to try to help you feel better? He wasn't the greatest at social cues...
"(Y/n)?" Laios whispered. "You still awake?"
"...Yeah." You opened your eyes to see him already staring at you.
"What're you thinking about?"
"Honestly? The way you kissed me earlier." You explained.
Laios smiled and leaned in a little closer. "Want me to do it again?"
"Where is this confidence coming from?" You asked.
"Well...I just...saw an opportunity and took it. See, it's kind of like cooking monsters. You have to find the right temperature to cook it, find the right about of time to cook it as well, find the-" Laios was interrupted...
...by you leaning in and kissing him softly on the mouth. You were sure of your feelings for Laios now. You had a big crush on the blond tall man.
Laios was surprised, but moved one of his hands to the back of your head, pulling you in impossibly closer. Slowly, you both pulled away, looking each other in the eyes deeply.
"(Y/n)..." Laios whispered.
"Laios..." You whispered.
"Laios." Chilchuck warned. "I can hear everything."
"Laios," Senshi walked up to the bag. "Your turn on watch."
The blond man sighs and carefully maneuvers out of the sleeping bag, but as he gets out, his foot gets caught on the hoop that closes the sleeping bag and entirely rips it down the side. You and him look at each other before you sheepishly speak up.
"Guess we'll be using mine for a while." You sighed.
Laios gave you a smile and longingly held his hand out. "I'll be back for you. Sleep well."
"I can attempt." You chuckle, finally settling in for the night.

Okay, so. I'm in Love with the Villainess. Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou. WataOshi. Whichever title you want to refer to it by.
Before reading or watching it, I wondered why the hell people were holding up this random villainess isekai light novel with an over-the-top masochist main character as a landmark yuri title. Okay sure I don't doubt there's yuri going on, but how can it be so special?
Then I watched the anime. "Huh. The series and its main character are clearly and unambiguously lesbian in a way that so many other series can't bring themselves to be. And it has the most frank discussion of queer issues I think I've ever seen in anime or related media. Yeah, I think I see now, it is a cut above." And both because I've heard the novels get into a few things a little more and because the series now has its hooks in me enough for me to want to read the novels anyway, I read the first novel. And yeah, that does add a bit.
And then I read the second novel. The latter bit of the anime does cover the first bit of the second novel, but it's mostly new territory for an anime-only or anime-first such as myself. And holy fucking shit. Spoilers under the cut.
For one thing, the anime/first novel dropped some trans hints about Yu, and that turns out to be a whole transfem allegory - which isn't unheard of by any means, but it's not especially common in a work where that isn't the main focus. And not only that, but there's an actually explicitly textual transmasc in Rae's past life, who forms part of Rae's motivation to make considerable effort and take considerable risk (up to and including treason) to make sure Yu can live as a girl - once Yu states that is what she wants, it is important to note. Random yuri villainess isekai light novel says trans rights, and will absolutely stand by it.
And then all of the stuff about class and inequality comes to a head, and remember how the game that Rae's in the world of is titled "Revolution"? Yeah. One of those happens. Various hints have been dropped about what happens, largely centred on Rae making efforts to save Claire's neck in the most literal way possible when things really go down. But holy shit does that turn out to be more effort and a much more complex endeavour than it appears at first... or for most of the time while it's going on, for that matter. Ultimately she arranges things so that while the revolution still happens (it is basically inevitable), overall loss of life and suffering is minimised, and the general situation is as good as it possibly could be. By the time the proverbial smoke clears, Rae and Claire are openly living as a couple, which is a lot more than you usually see - one of the things Rae comments on is how in per previous life, too much of the yuri she read ended with at least one of the girls either dead or winding up with a man, which annoyed her enough to write fanfic based on series she likes with unsatisfying endings to fix that. And though the game did have a yuri spinoff, the original - the events of which she was living through and manipulating - was het. The character she winds up with was never supposed to be a romanceable character to begin with.
And that's just the first two of the five novels. Living through and changing the course of an actual revolution and settling down with her partner is just 40% of the whole story. (And less if more novels get published.) I've just started the third novel, and it's certainly looking like the rest is going to be at least as much of a ride as the first two were.
This really is an outstanding series. It's Dungeon Meshi levels of "I cannot stop thinking about it" to me, which if you've seen how much I post about that, says a lot. And I haven't read even half of it yet.
#i'm in love with the villainess#watashi no oshi wa akuyaku reijou#wataoshi#yuri#trans rights#lesbianism#lgbtqia

Click for Palestine 🇵🇸 : https://arab.org/click-to-help/palestine/
Hey! What’s up? Thanks for coming around!
Pseudonym’s Annie. I’ve got most of my quick info in my bio, if you ever feel inclined to skim it! I’m Bangladeshi and Muslim. I’m also aspec, omnisexual, and pangender. I also am very large and contain multitudes.
This is my main blog! I reblog a lot of stuff I find funny, stuff about the moon, about animals and nature but birds and fish in particular, about community and partnership and overcoming prejudice, about love and family and friends, and about identity and orientation and mental health.
I tag all my posts, replies, and reblogs as accurately as I can. If there are any issues with my tags, post contents, or anything else in my blog, please let me know so I can fix it and make it a more comfortable online space!
I love meeting people! If you'd like to, shoot me a message or an ask and you can be sure I'll respond!
Below is the alphabetically organised guide to my current fandoms and my relationship with them, and to my organisational structure for my tags. It's a long post; keep reading at your own risk!
Fandoms!
Artemis Fowl
I can be safely critical of it nowadays since it's geared towards a younger audience but I respect the solid worldbuilding it portrays, especially for a children's book. Good stuff- I'd still recommend it.
Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared
Again, got into it when I was younger and it kind of burrowed its way into my brain where it rotted, forgotten, for ages until the sudden new season. Not necessarily emotionally invested, but the Three Of Them have my whole heart for sure.
Dungeon Meshi
I got into it VERY recently by binging the manga, and now I'm keeping up with the Netflix adaptation! Obsessed with the solid worldbuilding.
Gravity Falls
Top fandom ever everrrrr. Got obsessed with it as a kid and I’ve never let it go since. I know all the sordid fandom history, all the best and most popular headcanons of current day, and some the most based fanartists and fics. I do a lot of recreational multishipping in my dark and evil mind palace.
My Little Pony
Come on come onnnnn. It's a classic. I have an encyclopaedic and philosophical understanding of the MLP universe. No I will not talk about it.
Percy Jackson
Hey I mean it was pretty formative for me when I was younger. Got me into mythology! I'm critical of it nowadays but I cannot deny the positive impact it had on me. Good stuff! Haven't and probably won't watch the new live adaptation.
The Wind-Up Chronicle Bird
Read it VERY recently. Super surreal, and as always, Murakami never misses. However, the books I am emotionally invested in change on a monthly basis. Expect the title to switch in a little bit.
Welcome to Night Vale
I got into it half a year ago and it literally changed my brain chemistry. One of my forever fandoms for sure, though I must admit it fell off after "Father Kevin"...
Tag Organisation Guide!
Annie’s Anomalous Affairs:
#annie’s aberrant abominations - there’s very little content in this tag. OC tag; I don’t reaaaally talk about my OCs though so don’t worry about it. It’s mostly stuff I reblog to help character build anyway. I’ll list the subtags for individual OCs below as they appear on my blog.
#abomination: Danny #abomination: Hannah #abomination: Hedon #abomination: Lola #abomination: Nicky #abomination: Spring #abomination: Teresa
#annie adores advice - there’s a LOT of content in this tag. Advice or awareness spreading I reblog that I think will help me live easier, or to signal boost so people who need it can use it.
#annie argot - posts of mine where I think I utilised especially clever wordplay, which I archive under this tag for future writing reference.
#annie attempts art - my art! At least up until now I’ve drawn purely on Procreate so it’s all digital medium.
#annie awakened - a tag specifically for answering asks and mentions!
#annie awkwardly articulates - my posts! I talk about my thoughts and experiences, or I’ll be archiving a chat I had here online.
#authentic annie appearances - screenshots of text conversations with my IRL friends.
Annie Appreciates…:
#birdposting - just the same; reblogging cool and/or funny posts about birds! I love birds. Love their behaviour, love how they evolve, love eating them. I try to include the species of bird in the tags whenever I can!
#boys will be boys - I use this tag whenever I am appreciating masculinity! This includes folks being silly, being kind, being geeky, and all around being. Often accompanied by the “girl moment” tag (elaborated on below).
#classic - tag for infamous Tumblr posts that I archive for myself! Gotta collect those heritage posts, man. Can’t have a blog without the colour of the sky.
#classic + #to me - iconic Tumblr posts that feel like they should be infamous but aren’t for some reason.
#fishposting - you guessed it; reblogging cool and/or funny posts about fish! I love fish. Love their biology, love how they look, love eating them. I try to include the species of fish in the tags whenever I can!
#girl moment - I use this tag whenever I am appreciating femininity! This includes folks being silly, being kind, being geeky, and all around being. Often accompanied by the “boys will be boys” tag (elaborated on above).
#later gator - the tag I use to save things (usually videos) to look at later when I’m scrolling tumblr at double-time (or have my volume on), probably because I’m at work.
#my romantic wife - that’s the moon! I adore the moon, it’s unmatched (tag not to be confused with the term I often use, “my platonic wife”, elaborated on below)!
#number - tag for things that I think are attractive, ranging from blatant thirst trap art to standard-ATX motherboards.
#take me out to dinner first - tag for scheduled posts that have something to do with the date of the day.
Annie’s Associates:
#DNA double felix-cipher - tag for tumblr user @toytanks, Felix-Cipher. The tag is a play on the term “double helix structure”.
#my froinds :3 - I talk about or reblog posts that remind me of my IRL friends! My friends are very important to me and I love them so so much.
#sarufiyyun - tag for tumblr user @biblicallyaccuratepigeons, Seraph-Chim, who’s angelkin. Sarufiyyun is the Islamic term for Seraphim.
#the coworker - this very specific colleague I have who who is pretty eccentric. She stalks my blog. You can find her snarky remarks under the reclusive @annielover69420 handle.
#the spouse - this is “my platonic wife” (not to be confused with the tag “my romantic wife”, elaborated on above)! My best friend who I’ve known for nearly two decades. I have a special tag for her because I have a special relationship with her. Sometimes I will be a little sulky about her, but hey, marriage has its ups and downs!
Annie’s Avocations:
#art reference - what it says on the tin. Step by step guides or simple diagrams of art tips; whatever helps me draw!
#recipes - I feel like I should throw this tag in here now that I have at least two or three reblogs for it. Cool recipes for cool food I’d like to make one day.
#tutorial - tutorials for anything at all! I eat life advice for every meal. Sometimes these won't be strictly tutorials but something adjacent— I tag as such anyway so I can find it later under that label if necessary.
#writing - yes, I have nothing to show for it on here, but I’m a writer! Tag for writing tips and also inspiration.
That's all, folks! Have a good one!

Genuine question, have you ever considered getting into a franchise because of this blog? Like you saw a character that looked cool and they made wanna check out their source material? Or people in the notes screaming about their blorbos made you wanna learn more about the blorbos?
This has happened to me and some other people who run tumblr poll blogs, so I’m curious if this is true for you.
I was going to say Over the Garden Wall, but I think that'd be cheating, since I'd planned to watch that one anyway and just happened to do it last Halloween. And same goes for Dungeon Meshi, which I haven't watched yet, but I already intended to from seeing it around outside of running this blog rn I think the closest answers are that all the Mega Man submissions got me to kick my butt into gear and finally start playing through the Battle Network games from the beginning. And the Artemis Fowl submissions reminded me that I liked those books, so I should see if there's been any new ones written. Turns out there was a whole series of sequel books called The Fowl Twins I hadn't known about that I'm now reading This blog is a good way for me to see what's currently popular outside of my usual circles though, so I'm sure that I'll get into more series because of the submissions here in future

2024 Winter Anime Lineup (Master Post?)
First post for a new blog where I'm going to try and record my opinions, break downs, comparisons, and various degrees of squees about anime!
The lineup for this year's Winter isn't as packed as the 2023 Fall season was, but that's always the case. It sure is still causing my To Watch List to keep getting longer... but more importantly because it's so lacking in big name shows one of my most anticipated shows gets to shine...
SOLO LEVELING
俺だけレベルアップな件
LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!
I'M SO EXCITED FOR MY SHADOW BOY TO FINALLY ARRIVE!!!
also, holy CRAP look at all this TRADITIONAL FANTASY!!! There is even a decent selection of non harem Isekai this round too! And a lot of awesome sequels/continuations!
Anyways, here's what's on my to watch list for this season! I'll be posting about them in their own or other threads as I figure out how I want to set this blog up. My reasons for WHY I'm watching what I'm watching
Definitely Will Watch!
Solo Leveling / 俺だけレベルアップな件
Apothecary Diaries /薬のひとりごと(Continued)
Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi) / ダンジョン飯
The Villains Day Off / 休日のわるものさん

Cherry Magic (THIS ENGLISH TITLE LMAO) / 30歳まで童貞だと魔法使いになれるらしい (DEF WATCHING THIS ONE NOW)
Shangri-La Frontier / シャングリラフロンティア (Continued)
Beyond Journey's End / 葬送のフリーレン (Continued)
Gonna Give Them A Few Episodes
Mashle Season 2
Fluffy Paradise / Isekai de Mofumofu Nadenade Suru Tame ni, Ganbattemasu (I'm doing my best in another world to pet fluffy creatures)
Ishura
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic / 治癒魔法の間違った使い方
Blue Exorcist / Ao no Exorcist (OUT OF LEFT FIELD THIS ONE)
Delusional Monthly Magazine / Gekkan Mousou Kagaku
This is already insanely long, so the second half of this essay about what I think is below ↓↓↓↓
DEFINITE WATCH LIST
SOLO LEVELING - I've been waiting for the solo leveling anime since BEFORE the anime was ever announced, re-reading the webcomic/manhwa multiple times and just HOPING someone would animate these gorgeous shadows. It is a very well done power fantasy with only squints of romance, and while I'm sad it's been localized to Japan (and all the fuckery that comes with of Korean erasure), I got to see the first two episodes at the World Premiere and I. Am. So. Hype.
APOTHECARY DIARIES existed completely outside of my head space, and my initial response at the premise was, Raven of the Inner Palace? I wasn't actually expecting much from it and then the first few episodes BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER and now I'm obsessed.
DUNGEON MESHI is one of those manga I've heard about, but tried reading and it was too slow paced for me (I say, currently slogging through The Boat Arc (TM) of Hunter x Hunter), but the anime gives it life and I think I'll enjoy this alot. I love cooking anime and fantasy, so this will be fun!
KYUJITSU NO WARUMONOSAN is just straight up Crow Bait. That curly bowl cut, the gap moe of a villain who loves cute things, and voiced by fricken Shintarou Asanuma!!! (I know him as Samatoki from HypMic, other's will know him from the "Fucking Bullshit" song from Carole and Tuesday, and a host of other roles) Also, all the pretty sentei / power ranger boys!!! I'm so hype, in the most relaxed chill way for this.
UNDEAD UNLUCK is so weird in that it involves a lot of random sexualization, but it doesn't make me uncomfortable like Seven Deadly Sin's random gropping did, maybe because there is actual implied consent involved. Fuuko and Andy are Poly and I love them for it. And the world building is TOP NOTCH.
FIRE HUNTER - If you haven't seen season one, you are missing out. A darkly beautiful post-post apocolyptic alternate Japan-esque world, from the POV of a young girl, and a young genius boy having to let himself be manipulated by capitalism to survive, and gods? a magic system? but so soft that it's barely there even while being a full on fantasy story.
High Hopes or Taking My Time
SASAKI AND PEEPS- What a weird little show that has the weirdest combination of isekai, the most "this is fine." salaryman, and a fricken' CHUNIBYO BIRB. I've already watched the first episode and it feels like there are two magic systems going on and its a bit confusing, so we will see how this plays out!
WITCH AND BEAST - I keep wanting to call this Beauty and the Beast, because the beast is a rad bad ass looking lady, and the witch is certainly one of the most beautiful undertakers I've ever seen. I think he carries his boyfriend around in his coffin backpack, so I'm hype to see WTF is up with that >o>
DOCTOR ELISE - Why do manhwa I read keep randomly popping up as anime??? This is a vilainess turned good story, and supposedly the market is full of these, but none of them are the good ones I've read, so I did a double take of happiness when I saw this. THIS ONE IS GOOD. An spoiled princess gets killed, is reborn in Korea and becomes a doctor, only to be killed by Airplane-kun, and winds up back in her old body where she decides to become a doctor again! The prince is even not your typical icy asshole! (although maybe he is a little at the beginning..)
CHERRY MAGIC - THIS FRICKEN ENGLISH TITLE GOOD LORDS ABOVE. I'm dying. I'm also excited to see this one play out and I'll be hiding behind a pillow giggling like a mad lad while I do. It's been a while since there's been a good BL that's not SAD (looking at YOU Given and Banana Fish, but avoids eye contact with Sasaki and Miyano) so hopefully it doesn't dip into that territory. Going into this one mostly blind as to the premise apart from the obvious Gap-Moe with the love interest.
SHANGRI-LA - I started watching this on a whim as the Fall season started to wind down, and found it to be a good potato chip to have on in the background. I'll probably continue watching it, but not weekly.
FRIEREN - This is what I watch when Jujutsu Kaisen hurts too much to keep going. I'm only a few episodes in, so it'll be slow going, but I think it's about to pick up it's pacing a little where I'm at, and it'll be good comfort food to have.
MAYBES
Mashle Season 2 - The pacing was SUPER WEIRD in the first season that despite all of it's shitting on the properties of she-who-shall-not-be-named, the end of the season kind of fell flat. I wanted to like it more, so I'm hoping Season 2 does that for me.
Fluffy Paradise - I love isekais with an adult in a child's body pretending to be just super smart, and this doesn't feel like it's going to do that, but still looks cute none the less. I'll give it a few episodes, but will quickly drop it if my watch list is too long.
Ishura - Is this what life is like for D&D Characters when they hit level 20? I HOPE SO. I LOVED the Legend of Vox Machina, and hope this has the same sort of vibes, but I'm going in blind!
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic - Love me some fucked up healing magic. Please DO NOT let this be ANYTHING like Redo Healer. I refuse to watch that even those FUCKED UP HEALING MAGIC IS FUN. But this. This I want to see. Please let this also not be a harem. I'm fine with ~vibes~ but please no actual harem that's not actually Poly.
Blue Exorcist - THIS IS TOTALLY OUT OF NOWHERE. HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?????? I remember the last season feeling like a disappointment? But can't remember why? Gonna see if this is worth re-watching the seasons from like... a decade ago.
Delusional Monthly Magazine - I watched the PV and had no fucking clue what was happening. Therefore, I will be watching a few episodes to sate my curiosity about WTF OR possibly just get myself even more confused and rage quit. lmao
I've watched the first few episodes of a couple of these, and will be watching a few more tomorrow, so Next Goal: Post a write up or three about what I think!

What we got up to in July 2024
Writing this blog post is an idea I came up with because it is fun but also because it forces us to reflect on the month and what we did. We've been trying (badly) to keep track of all the things we watched in the year so we can do an end-of-the-year retrospective of all the media we enjoyed so heeeeeeere we go.
July, July, July, what a busy month we've had. From L getting a new job to us running our first convention stall selling our art. We have truly been busy, but that has not stopped us from having fun with all kinds of media. Whether to relax or to research we watched a lot last month so lets talk about it.
Movies Movies are a good place to start. I've been trying to keep track of the movies we watched on Letterbox like I do with anime on MAL. I just like having a big list of all the things I've seen I can't help it XD.
For my birthday we did a Gentleman-themed movie night. First, we watched The Gentleman a film I've been trying to get L to watch for ages and my birthday seemed like a great opportunity. And guess what she loved it. It's Guy Richie so you know the cinematography and editing are going to be fun a least. I didn't remember how homoerotic it was but I'm all for it. I think the gangsters should kiss.
We also watched The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare... Also Guy Richie. It even had Henry Cavill but they couldn't save this story from being kinda meh. It sucks because I was looking forward to it but It just felt a little all over the place. You never really get to know any of the characters and the action felt excessive considering the real-life versions of these people managed to do this operation with only one injury.
The last movie I can remember watching was Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets. Our hopes going in were so low but it was actually really awesome. The world and story are just so interesting and well-made. It feels like a passion project from the director. It's just plain fun times.
TV
For the small screen, we watched The 8 show, A tv adaptation of two Manhwa Pie game and Money game. The show chose elements from both to create a kind of mish mash of the ideas from both. I hadn't read them but L had so I got to turn and go "Omg did that happen in the Manhwa". I wouldn't want to spoil anything but if you're a fan of death games its very compelling.
My main criticism of the show as a whole was that the violence in the latter half was actually really hard to watch. It felt excessive and unrealistic. You will watch a character get their head bashed in with a baseball bat multiple times and will be fine the next day. It gives it this kind of unrealistic uneasiness where you're real-world perception of how much damage the human body can take is confused for the sake of plot convenience and shock.
L: It made some interesting adaptations and outright changes that were mostly good but it is very different to both manhwa. Which is a good thing. I've read it already so show me something cool you can do with the idea!
Anime
Anime was a large part of what we watched as usual. We have completely stepped off the seasonal train and as a result have been enjoying anime from all over... anyway we watched Dungeon Meshi. If you have seen our most recent video you know we love this show. It's genuinely a 10/10 and I can't wait for the next season. I don't want to be basic and make more videos on it but I kinda do.
Shangri-La Frontier was another anime we brought up in the last video as it was just overflowing with passion and skill. We still haven't finished it with 2 episodes to go.
I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability; was also fun but for very silly reasons. I can't sit here and claim it's inherently good but it was fun and easy to watch. Sometimes that's ok.
Lastly, for anime, we have Black Butler. omg, it's so fun. we're only 10 episodes into our rewatch at the moment but it's been about 10 years since I last watched it. The English accents in the dub are particularly awful I love it.
Its interesting to look back on the anime we watched and see exactly how we went from watching these to writing the Passion and Skill video. I can see what elements of each show inspired what elements of the video. This is cool and fun and nice.
Games
Don't worry we are nerds of the highest order so we played some games too. I've been playing a few in the last week or so. Star Ocean Divine Force, Orks Must Die 3 and Circus Electrique just to name a few. I've been ping-ponging back and forth between all of them.
The big game of this month however has to be Spellforce 2. I played 3 and really enjoyed it but the jump back to 2006 graphics was a hurdle I had to vault and I'm glad I did. The game has a lot of interesting elements that they stripped out for the sequel. Unsurprising considering the game changed hands multiple times between the 2 games. It really feels like a classic CRPG with strategy elements instead of a bunch of strategy maps with some RPG-style quests for good measure. It was fun and just as I thought I was finishing it the game kept going. I have no idea where it's going to go next.
L has been playing the Demo for Blue Prince pretty religiously. I don't think ill see her again once the full game comes out but I won't say too much because I think there's a little video/strategy guide on the horizon. You should see the spreadsheet.
L: Spreadsheet :3c
Conc
If I could conclude this rambling blog post for July in one word I would say Expanding. Because our tastes are changing and expanding. I'm excited to see what I get to enjoy next month.
Anyway, this blog post is more for us to store thoughts than anything substantial at the moment but if you enjoyed reading it let us know. If you want better-worded thoughts check out our YouTube videos and if I actually stick to this new idea see you next month.

It's halfway through the year! Got any favorite albums/books/tv shows/whatever to recommend?
Ooo yes!
Whatevers first, I've been hyperfixated on the video game I Was a Teenage Exocolonist for the past month or so. It's very good; I found the core gameplay loop deeply engaging (maybe even hypnotic); on multiple occasions I've spent several hours longer than I intended playing it late into the dawn. The characters are very blorboable, as evidenced by the amount of meta I've been putting out. I also enjoy it as a smart commentary on game design; I think I've got a meta piece to that effect somewhere on here.
Music-wise, I don't listen to whole albums straight through that often (much more "single track on manual repeat" for me. automatic repeat wears it out but letting it wait a minute or two for me to press it again keeps me going), but when I do, my comfort album remains Within Temptation's The Unforgiving. For something that's new to me this year, Oceans of Slumber's album Starlight and Ash came out in 2022 but I didn't listen to it all the way through until February of this year; I was missing out.
I also love pretty much Sirenia's entire discography; I'm listening to Riddles, Ruins, and Revelations right now and it's a solid no-skips album (and the third track has found its way to my on-repeat plays more than I'd like to admit).
For individual tracks that have made it into my manual-repeat loop a bunch lately, Aimee Mann - Avalanche (something about her vocals and the specific lyrics give this song a strong haunting energy I can't quite place but very much enjoy) and The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound have both wound up there, as have a bunch of Scarlet Dorn tracks (Queen of Broken Dreams, Heavy Beauty, and Until the Waters Run Dry just off the top of my head). also Like Matches, by Mercury Circle with the singer from Oceans of Slumber.
Books-wise, I'm super excited to read my pre-release copy of Alyson Greaves's When You Fell From Heaven, a lesbian teen romance between a cheerleader and a gymnast with gender hijinks. I didn't expect to be into it but I'll read whatever she puts out and not just because she's my friend. She's splitting it out into multiple books and has given the first book a revision pass and expansions to make it gayer after posting it chapter by chapter (which I've already read) before officially getting it up somewhere. I unfortunately haven't been as much of a long-form reader as I used to be, or else I'd have more books to rec.
I'm not a big TV-watcher, but I was recced dungeon meshi enough times to get me to watch it and it's very good.
Anyway. yeah. That's what I've been into, arts and entertainment-wise.
Thanks for asking me!

Tag game: tag 9 people you’d like to get to know better.
Doing this almost a week after i was tagged. Since I'm procrastinating anyway, I thought I might as well do it. Thank you @rn0na-lizard
Last song: Kimi ni Kaikisen by Inabakumori. Not actually anywhere near my favourite inabakumori song, it just happened to be in a playlist. I think my favourite inabakumori songs are NON-USE and Haru no Sekibaku.
Currently watching: Dungeon Meshi (i went ahead and read through the manga, and I'm watching the anime to get a sort of retrospective)
Three ships: I'm gonna say, Renmerry (Yukaren is an extension of that so im not counting it separately), Oil Fire, Reimari. Really I don't do that much with shipping other than renmerry. There's a bunch of ships that exist in my touhou headcanons but that i dont do much with though. As for other media ive never really done all that much shipping.
Favorite color: I'm gonna list multiple and give hex codes for ones that are around the range im talking about. #401569 sort of purple, $4d0837 sort of burgundyithink??, black if you count it as a color, and somewhat in the distance #03314f sort of tealish blue
Currently consuming: I don't want to refer to enjoying media as "consuming". So I'll go with the last thing I ate instead, which was tripe soup (really good)
First ship: It looks like the first ship i made actual art of is seishin. I haven't done anything with that one for a really long time though
Relationship Status: Taken (Helen [@helen-epic])
Last movie: Uhhh I don't remember
Currently working on: Studying for an exam, or at least that's what I'm supposed to be doing. I don't usually have long term art projects anyway because i often end up abandoning them.
Nine people is a lot... I'm gonna say @rartorata, @every1sno1fangirl, @reimu-enjoyer, @boccher, @ephemeralhorror, @phantasyhalation, @isolatedgirlthing, @winged-void, @alwinfy. I don't usually respond to tag games myself, so absolutely no pressure.

I have today and tomorrow off and it's really so weird because I'm not used to them being in a row 😭 but then I'm scheduled six days straight after that soo
i keep getting tiktoks about Book of Life and I wanna rewatch that so bad because it's one of my favorite movies. I don't know if it'd fit but I love putting my favorite characters into other media i enjoy (crossovers technically?) so i keep imagining mc and Mammon as Manolo and Maria. And then probably Solomon as Joaquin, just because he's my other favorite.
but Manolo literally sings "heaven knows your name, I've been praying" while trying to serenade Maria and it gets me every time. I have the perfect mental image to redraw that scene with Mammon and Mc but I can't put it on paper so AAAA
anyway i wanted to ask if you had any movie recs or anything because I don't know what to do with myself other than read all day tomorrow. OH AND ALSO IF YOU WERE GONNA WATCH THE ECLIPSE, A COWORKER GAVE ME GLASSES WHICH I WAS HAPPY ABOUT
- ✨ anon
I hope you enjoy your days off! I think it's always nice to have multiple days in a row... due to be an office gremlin, I always get the two regular weekend days off. I kinda have to use Saturday as a reset day because I'm so exhausted from the week lol. So it's nice to have that extra day for other things! (Usually chores in my case.)
Anyway, I had to look up The Book of Life because I have never heard of it before now. It sounds good! I definitely think you should rewatch it. And yeah, I think that's kinda how it goes with art? You've got the vision in your mind but the hands cannot replicate it. It can be like that with writing, too. It's just trying to convey to someone else the picture you see in your mind and it never comes out the same.
But it's definitely fun to do crossover ideas, like putting characters in other stories. I had a feverish few days obsessing over which Obey Me characters would be who in a King Arthur AU. It's just really interesting to consider how their personalities would change the story, you know? (Not me also kinda thinking about a LOTR AU kadsfkl.)
I'm afraid I may not be the best person to ask for movie recs? I don't watch a lot of movies. Generally I have the attention span problem lol. I do watch them occasionally, like I finally watched Knives Out & Glass Onion which I totally loved. But I suppose it also depends on what sorta genre you're into... I suppose those are like murder mystery style but they're also just very funny. Dang I'm trying to think of other movies I've watched recently but yeah there's not a lot... the most recent thing I've watched is Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon on Netflix which is so so good. I know it's like the tumblr rage right now, but I'm really loving it.
Though due to my inability to watch current movies, I have a lot of older classics that I like. Monty Python and the Holy Grail comes to mind immediately. I also love the old school Clue movie it's so good. And I'm a huge fan of Studio Ghibli movies, so any of those, but I know a lot of peeps have already seen them. Other older animated movies from my childhood like The Road to El Dorado and The Emperor's New Groove and Anastasia. Oh and of course I'm a huge fan of all the Lord of the Rings movies but I know that can be kind of a commitment. I also liked Pan's Labyrinth, The Birdcage, Coco (if you wanna CRY), The Boondock Saints (uh very bloody this one though), and I always kinda had a thing for martial arts movies like I love Legend of the Drunken Master lol but also Hero and of course the classic Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (there's a sequel on Netflix that was also very good). Oh and I did see Everything Everywhere All At Once which I really enjoyed!
Er so I guess that's more than I thought lol. But there are a lot of times when people will be like you haven't seen X movie!?! And I just hafta be like... I don't watch movies a lot, sorry??
As for the eclipse, I am not going to be watching it because I don't have protective eye wear and my eyesight is already terrible. I didn't realize it was happening until like today oops. I did see part of the last one... I think that happened a handful of years ago? I can't quite remember when it was, but I did experience it!
Anyway, I don't know how helpful any of this was, but I hope you enjoy your time off either way!

i started watching a new series recently, and it's been unfortunately really cool so far. Unfortunate, because it's based on a book series apparently, and while that sounds interesting too, it's also a bit overwhelming, and different from the series which i already enjoy, so idk if i should force myself to give the books a go as well, because oh no what if they're not as enjoyable..... anyway, having a blast, sort of. Have you read any books / watched any shows/movies/etc you've liked? Any you'd be interested in reading/seeing?
Adaptations are often a bit of a gamble, but I'm really excited about the Dungeon meshi anime adaptation, which apparently is on its way.
I read the first few Witcher books and liked them, but for some reason I didn't get that excited about the show and even now I haven't watched almost any of it.
Come to think of it, I haven't read anything really new for a while? I mostly keep re-reading the Discworld books, in english. Reading books in finnish now seems somewhat odd. Anyone got any nice fantasy recommendations? Imo Discworld stories could work as animations, I haven't seen the few live-actions that have been made.
For some reason watching new movies or shows has been difficult for me lately. I even finally canceled my netflix because I just could get myself to watch anything?

Gooooooood moraftereve everyone!!
About time I introduced myself.
THIS IS A SFW 16+ BLOG!
I'll be sure to list any triggers here later and tag when necessary. Also just for the sake of everyone's safety. Now for some brief ground rules!
The name's Sink, Sinksby, or Sinkship! Any will do :)
I'm a minor!
Uncivil discussion is unwelcome in my posts and my dms. This includes the usual list of any form of discrimination, hate speech, or mention of politics.
I will delete comments and dms, as well as blocking users that violate this.
I want this place to be a silly goofy safe spot for me to post fanart and ramble about my fav media with fellow enjoyers. I won't be posting here as often because I still have a life outside tumblr, but I will try to post as often as possible! This place will also mainly be random reblogs when I don't post art.
More about me!
I'm Australian, g'day I guess?
Been learning to draw since 2020 and started digital art on Black Friday this year
I try to journal about my life on paper as much as possible! Hoping to do more next year
I'm decent at acoustic guitar, maybe
I read webtoons! I'm willing to take a peek into any genre, but atm I'm loving anything fast paced with mystery, the supernatural, twists, and moral dilemnas?? With the occasional fluffy friendships and romances ofc. Balance is crucial.
Misc media I'm into (some of which I got into through my brother in late November):
Portal series
Arcane
Spy x Family
Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi
Studio Ghibli movies (haven't watched all of them yet, it's going to be my 2025 resolution)
I vaguely get Ultrakill, Pressure, Murder Drones, TADC, and Halflife references since he introduced them to me (thank you for your killer robot/ai lore dumps, G 🙏).
And webtoons I've been obsessing about (moslty ongoing):
Handjumper by SLEEPACROSS
Purple Hyacinth by Sophism
Sunset Phoenix by NeverDraws
The Uncommons by Team Weird Enough
Nevermore by Kit Trace and Kate Flynn
Katlaya Rising by MariaMediaHere
Stagtown by Punko (finished 😔)
Our Walk Home by furanc0
Cinderella Boy by Punko
And a ton of others! Would love ot hear some webtoon reccs based off of my taste!
Anyway, cheers! :)
#introduction#blog intro#pinned post#digital art#idk how to tag this man im going off other people's posts i wont lie

more hq dumpster battle and general hq thoughts and general adaptation thoughts
i'm reading some of the reception on reddit and it's interesting! i feel like... my expectations were not that high and maybe that helped?
i haven't even finished the hq anime, my hq love is really the manga (i think due entirely to me reading it first). i feel like i am simple and whatever medium i experienced something in first is what will have the most impact on me. (i mean there are exceptions like golden kamuy and tokyo ghoul, which i watched first but prefer the manga, but those anime adaptations have more obvious weak points).
like for sure hinata and bokuto's VA's unlocked new levels of love in me for the characters- but when i want to re-experience hq, i'll reread the manga. (or read good fic.)
this is also why i'm so reticent to watch the dungeon meshi adaptation... the manga to me is just perfect. i know it's not an uncommon opinion to prefer manga versions of these works, it's just that anime is so much more Popular and people are so much more willing to consume something in anime form while i really think the manga is exemplary and wanted people to like that? i dunno! i can't easily think of other adaptations... maybe tricornered window but that animation wasn't as strong so i just didn't watch much so don't really have an opinion on it. i've heard this opinion elsewhere but i'm not like, hoping every manga i like gets animated. i do like to see them animated! i love getting to hear who they've decided to put as voice actors! but i guess i have baggage over what else comes with it. it's not something i feel like i /need/.
is there anything i was really excited for an adaptation for??? i can't think of one??
(i mean the aa movie is amazing but it's like. supplementary material.)
oh i think i felt similarly about skip to loafer as dungeon meshi. it was nice and pleasant and had no obvious shortcomings it just Wasn't The Manga. i didn't watch much of it. i think i would enjoy it if i was in a mood for a slower paced show. maybe that's just an excuse, like i've been watching the she likes to cook and she likes to eat live action and that's similarly cozy. idk! brain weird and it wants what it wants.
there's also definitely a vein of hipsterism, like oh i READ it and you people just watched it laTER. which i don't think is fair but it's how i feel.
okay the only one i can REALLY think of enjoying both as separate experiences is fma brotherhood. i think the manga is amazing and i think the anime is amazing. so what does that say...
fma was already so popular at my time of my reading & watching that i had no room to feel hipster about it? lol?
i have lost the thread... where was i even going with this...
anyway i did enjoy the movie and i think part of it was i was not expecting to get the same kind of emotional fulfillment that i get from the manga with its more intricate details.
actually this brings me to more novel vs. tv which is interesting. like for tgcf watching the donghua first was SO FUCKING CONFUSING and reading the novels is so fucking illuminating as to what is going on and what people are thinking. i was watching she likes to cook and she likes to eat and aaauh something else... and it's just so visual and more third person to see a donghua or live action where you usually really don't know the interior of a character's brain which is so different from the novels, usually. i guess live action is even more removed if you don't see their internal monologue. that's why... hm i feel like reading a novel vs. adaptation is often rewarding bc the story itself is told in a different way? vs manga to anime where the storytelling manner often stays pretty similar. it's much more faithful usually. there's not as much to adapt as much as just turn into an animation.
like for hq movie i got the joy from the animation itself, the voice actors, charming character interactions, seeing these panels adapted to the big screen. but the version of that kenma hinata moment that is seared into my brain eternally is the manga one.

Prsk dungeon meshi au dump (cuz I can, I will, there are brainworms, those who rot the brain, exactly the one RFK had and they demand an indoump I'm afraid)
also as a warning the dump contains spoilers for dungeon meshi...so please watch/read it before my dump. I can't be the one who ruins it for you, it's genuinely so good man
aight so anyways:
Hatsune Miku as the demon!
That's my best idea ever, let me explain
The demon (or demons) in dungeonmeshi come from an alternate dimension and feed on desires. They are multiple different ones, but they're still connected. Stuck inside of dungeons they foster the desire of the dungeon master until they eat their desires whole.
So what I'm essentially saying is, that that concept overlaps with Sekais and Mikus.
An extradimensional being with different forms that fosters the desire/feeling of the person their assigned to, living inside a dimension that changes to provide for the person...just...just I'm cooking here ok?
My main idea for the au (which is admittedly still a massive wip, but ignore the scaffolding, while I ramble on) is that the prsk cast are all exploring the dungeon. Some as their unit (niigo) and some that haven't had their reunion yet (l/n). They all explore the dungeon for different reasons, meet up with Miku who tries to convince them into turning into the dungeon master and the rest will happen in a daydream or two
Going by unit leader alone we have:
The desire to reunite and stick with her friends from Ichika
The desire to spread hope from Minori
The- ngl Vbs has some weird mixed feelings I'm afraid. Kohanes desire is a big? for most of the beginning
The desire to be a legendary hero from Tsukasa
The desire to save people from Kanade
Ok besides that there's not yet enough narrative to present, so I'll just throw some stuff at the wall and hope those stick
Miku demonforms are:
l/n: blue sparkly astrology Lion
Mmj: maybe Phoenix (idky) I yearn for a penguin, but I'm not brave enough
Vbs: A Wolf or a Dog with blue flames
wxs: A alicorn, Tsukasa calls it a Pegasus, but it's an alicorn
niigo: A Jackalope with glowing antlers
Mafuyus current mental illness allegory is a curse that slowly turns her into a monster. She still has mother issues, I just added another struggle for jokes and giggles
I'm genuinely struggling making up my mind about the races, there are clear ones (Mafuyu elf and Hinomori elves) but then there are the thoughts of how Leoneed comes to be, cuz if their childhood friends they must all be the same race, or at least all long/shortlived lest we'll have a Halffoot Ichika dying during the childhood of an Halfelf Saki. So I'll make them all long lived races. But that's boring, where's the angst in that? I say while shooting myself in the leg, for there should never be an easy conclusion in an au of mine ig
The setting may or may not be the island, cuz I like it's state of being overrun with shady people from diverse origins who want to benefit from the dungeon, but whenever I think about that I wonder about it's political state and history, which I can't just apply to the au like it's nothing. No that shit needs to make sense and stand up on its own...yeagh
there are more thoughts, but I haven't developed them enough to talk about them here I'm afraid
