Headcanoning that Stede is bi rather than gay is absolutely your prerogative (even though I disagree and have only ever read his character as gay - his arc realising he's gay in middle age is very important to me for reasons that will become clear), but please can you have your headcanon without trying to argue that him having had kids with a woman is 'proof' of him not being gay? I am literally the child of a gay woman who had two children with a man she was married to for twenty five years before realising she was gay. And that's what she is: GAY.

The idea that having kids from 'straight' sex means you must be bi rather than gay is a really reductive, regressive, harmful narrative that erases huge swathes of people and their experiences. By all means, have your headcanons for what Stede's specific identity is (it's not explicitly stated in the show, so have at it!), but please put this argument straight into jail without passing go or collecting £200.
