Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: yang jungwon x gn!reader [established relationship] || word count: 0.6k genre: fluff || warnings: not entirely proof read, my beta reader is an idiot who focuses on the wrong details (ily bae but. 😭), talks of a serious and committed relationship synopsis: jungwon was bad at gifts. but this year he had a feeling even though he was being selfish with his present, he knew you were going to love it. note: can you tell i'm bad at endings-? anyways !! my first enhypen work 🫶 AND. this is a late birthday present for @daengnyangs <3 Cass!!! We haven’t known each other for long but. every time we've talked has been wonderful and fun and full of love <3 thank you for entertaining all my insane thoughts! I hope you keep doing what makes you happy forever <3 love you!
Tumblr media
Jungwon wasn’t the best with gifts. No matter who it was, he always felt like he came up short. But it was your birthday this time, and he couldn’t mess it up.
Even after dating you for a full 2 years and 4 months, giving you gifts were still as hard as ever. But this time Jungwon had a gut feeling that this might just be it.
He knew you liked to keep your birthday simple, going about it as if it was a normal day. The day was a Friday, perfect for his plan. He had your schedule memorised.
You had work until 1:30 and you’d get off at 1:45 and go for lunch with your family until around 4 and come back to the apartment you shared with your 2 other roommates by 4:30.
Jungwon planned it all out. He had begged and pleaded your roommates for weeks for this. And finally made them crack 9 days earlier.
He picked up the gift an hour and a half before seeing you at your apartment, and as he arrived he knew you weren’t back yet, eyes scanning around praying he doesn’t find your shoes.
Using the key you guys kept under the soil of the potted plant, Jungwon let himself in, setting his perfect surprise up.
And cue exactly as he planned, the jingling of your keys alerted him to hide your gift.
‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!!!’ Jungwon yelled, startling you.
Your now wide eyes take in the sight before you, Jungwon’s dimples adorning his face, eyes sparkling as he smiled. A small banner hung above his with the words ‘happy birthday’ and a beautiful flower bouquet rested inside a vase on the coffee table. But your eyes were glued to his face, Jungwon’s radiant smile more beautiful than anything.
A giggle escapes your mouth, running over to hug him.
‘Thank you Wonnie,’ you whispered into his chest. ‘That’s not all, come sit.’ Jungwon places you gently on the couch before disappearing into the kitchen.
He comes back with his arms full. It takes you a second to realise that it was a kitten, a small calico with wide eyes.
‘You… got me a cat? Won, I love you and I love cats, but you know I’m not allowed to have pets in this apartment.’ Your heart broke as you muttered those words, wishing you could just hide away this cute fur ball with you.
‘I. Not exactly. Y/n. I love you. I love you so much, that if I had a dollar for every time I thought about you, I’d have only 1, because you’re on my mind every single moment I breathe. I think about you when I wake up and when I go to sleep, and I wish I didn’t have to just think about you. I want to see you when I leave in the morning and when I come back from work. I want you to be the first and last person I see every single day.’
Your breath hitched, eyes glossing over as you waited for him to continue. His hands find yours, fingers intertwining.
‘I found a good apartment with reasonable rent considering we both have stable jobs. I’m bad at gifts, but I think even if it’s selfish, this may just be the best gift. I hope you accept this cat and house… Y/n, will you move in with me?’
You squeeze his hands, tears starting to fall. ‘Oh my lovely Won… yes, yes I will.’ If it was even possible, Jungwon’s smile grew wider. His lips captured yours in a sweet kiss, a one that shows you truly how happy he was.
‘I can’t wait to wake up with you by my side everyday my love.’

Tired | KOKONE / Eiri | RE: Erisu, Akito, Jae-min, Erik A | ATTN: Jae-min
For a while KOKONE just seems horribly out of it, registering that she’s been asked about a few things but her attention keeps getting taken up by her own thoughts and then everything else that people keep arguing about around her. God, this is too much to be dealing with at once, but she’ll contribute what she needs to, making sure to look away from Jae-min as she finally offers up her alibi.
“Right, sorry, alibi shit, yeah. Just couldn’t sleep and eventually gave up on trying, so… I got up and left my dorm at like 4:45, saw Jae-min on my way out, got to Office P soon after, passing by Akito in front of the surgery room on the way there, as he said. I just needed to clear my head so I was mostly just chilling and using the Cretchurs app to hang out with the lil guys. I was there until about 7, figured I was tired enough to actually try getting some sleep so I went back to my dorm, saw Kabasawa-san on the way there, and napped for a bit over an hour. I saw AION heading towards the library as I left, too, but… I didn’t think to follow… A-anyway, after I woke up I went back out, met up with Kenshin at about 8:20, and we decided to go to his room to just hang out for a while. Did that til the announcement.”
With a sigh, she steels herself. Eiri’s the one who fears confrontation, not KOKONE, the annoying little bastard who gets into petty arguments with strangers for fun.
“Also doubling what END said about AION being the only one who’d be able to get the bookcase to fall, the culprit might’ve designed the trap knowing they wouldn’t be able to activate it themself. That, or they did some kinda test and found their own strength wasn’t enough, but that feels a lot less likely to me, it’d be a pain in the ass to test something like that.”
After a pause, idly taps on the podium and looks towards Jae-min, she can’t deny her annoyance at his complete willingness to fuck everyone over just because one person cast suspicion on him.
“Fuck you too, bitch. What would be satisfying for everyone is finding a culprit and getting this the hell over with. If you’re sooo fucking innocent then all you’re doing is making sure two innocents die instead of one just cause you wanted to be a little petty bitch, but sure, yeah, until you wanna step up with this super easy explanation, or a more clear answer for who did it is offered, there’s literally zero reason for me to take your word and not vote for you when the time comes for it.”
Ah, yeah, unlike Erik A she has no intention of being nice about that at all.
“But moving on from that, yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the killer and Alien Erika sharing a meal together, no clue when that would’ve happened, but when I passed by Jae-min this morning I did see him going to the Eatery, but whatever, maybe the fish thing does clear him, fuck if I know.”

My sleep schedule is whack. I was scheduled to work Sunday through Tuesday, 7am to 3pm. But on Saturday night, I’m awoken by a call asking if I can come in earlier. “Sure, when?” I automatically respond. “4 AM.”
Because I’d been woken up by the call, I didn’t have the presence of mind to say no. Out of anxiety, I woke up at 2:45 and couldn’t fall back asleep. I went in at 4 and helped with a single patient for three hours, moistening her mouth and reading Scriptures and talking to her as she slept. Then I did my regular 8 hour shift.
Sadly, during my regular shift, the woman I sat with passed on. (We’re grateful that it was in her sleep, and that her sister was in the room with her.) One patient saw the police cars parked outside and could not rest until he had learned why they were there. His behavior started to disturb the other patients, so I privately told him what had happened. But at that point, the death had become public knowledge. I work in a nursing facility and patients have passed on here. But we try to break the news to other patients who knew those people individually. I almost got in trouble for telling this guy about it. They thought I had spread the rumor, when it was him spreading the rumor before I got to him.
Anyway, I was able to stay awake until 6 PM Sunday night. Then I slept until 1 AM Monday morning, and couldn’t fall back asleep. I did my regular shift, but with less energy than usual. And then I got home, and instead of a short nap, I slept until 7 pm, when I woke up, and could not fall back asleep.
And now it’s 1 AM again.

Adventure in the Walls
Wrote this while bored in class. I needed to pretend I was working on something okay. Anyway Enjoy this story if you want. Ain't gonna spoil anything.
It was a cold and windy morning outside. Snow whipped around and the wind rattled Ray’s windows. Ray was lying in bed trying to get some extra sleep; however, it seemed the snowstorm wasn’t going to let him. He groaned and rolled over to grab his phone to check the time. It was only 9:59am. He groaned louder in annoyance. Everything was canceled today; why did his body insist on waking him up? He begrudgingly rolled out of bed and placed his feet onto the cold floor. A shiver ran down his spine and he quickly walked over to his dresser and slipped on some socks, just to have something between him and his cold floor.
Jay walked into his kitchen yawning. He walked over to his cabinet and grabbed a mug and looked over his coffee options. Jay then remembered the coffee his friend Tori gave him. They said that if he ever had time or was bored, he should make a cup of it. Jay shrugged before grabbing the bag. He started to prepare some coffee just to wake up. He watched his coffee maker start up and spit out his coffee. He moved the cup over and started putting different creamers and sugars into it. Jay stirred the coffee up and waited for it to cool slightly before taking a drink. It was the perfect cup of coffee for a cold winters day. Jay sat down in his comfortable chair and continued to sip his coffee.
As Jay sat in the chair listening to the whipping wind and snow, he also thought of what he could do today. Perhaps he could play that new game he got or finish the project he had started. Jay placed his now empty mug off to the side, closed his eyes, and laid back in the chair. As Jay lay there, he felt himself start to drift off into sleep. Guess Tori’s coffee was knocking him out. Jay didn’t mind though, and instead let himself relax and fall back into sleep.
After who knows how long Jay woke up. He sat up and stretched. Jay felt great until he opened his eyes. Everything was off, no, everything was huge. Jay frantically looked around at the large chair he found himself in. He looked over at his phone, which was lying face down on the cushion. Jay quickly ran over, only then noticing that his clothes had shrunk with him. He grabbed his phone with both hands and with all his strength flipped over the phone. Jay realized that he was around 4 inches tall, when compared to his phone. Jay quickly tapped the screen to have it light up, he needed to text someone for help. As he pulled up the messages app, he froze. How were they supposed to get here with the snow? He looked at the top of his screen and his frozen state seemed to freeze even more. There was no signal, and the Wi-Fi was down. Jay stayed silent and focused on the noise around him. He didn’t hear the hum of his furnace only the whipping wind, which meant the power went out. Jay stood shocked as his phone went back to sleep. He couldn’t get help; he was stuck. Jay fell to his knees; he just didn’t know what to do.
As Jay stayed there, his eyes wandered around his small living room; well, it was no longer small to him. As he was looking around, suddenly an earring tied to a string appeared from the edge of the chair, and lodged itself into the cushion. Jay had jumped slightly and looked at the string, only to watch it suddenly tighten. He simply watched for a bit, until a hand came up and grabbed part of the string and the cushion, pulling up a man. They were the same size as him. The man rolled over with a huff, stood up, and looked towards Jay.
“Ya aight? Did the bean of this house find ya?” the man asked in a gruff voice. Jay stared in silence as he studied the man. The man had a beard and long hair. He looked to be around 45 in age. The man wore many layers of clothing and had a huge stuffed backpack on his back. It had some random trinkets and items sticking to the side of the backpack. He wore a leather belt that had a round wooden buckle in the center. The strange wooden buckle had a blue and yellow ball sticking out of the top. The man wore a thick pair of boots that had fur sticking out of the top. He also wore a scarf that seemed to have been torn and patched up over the years.
“Can ya hear me boy?” The man asked, snapping Jay out of his distracted state. ‘Oh um, yeah, I can hear you. What did you say?” Jay’s face was completely confused, and the man only sighed. “Geez boy, no wonder ya got caught. No worries though. I’ll take ya back to ya home. Know where it is?” Jay shook his head. The man groaned, “Ugh, must’ve hit ya knoggin too, huh? That’s aight. I know one fellow borrower of this house. He should know where ya home is. Do you at least remember ya name?”
Jay nodded, “My name is Jay.”
“Mh Nice ta meet ya Jay. Names David. I’m a trader of sorts. Got stuck in that nasty snow storm out there, lucky me. Had to hunker down somewhere, and I found this bean house. Anywho, let’s get ya out of here before the bean comes back, where ever they be.” David looked around before turning back to the earring and string. “Remember how to climb down?” Jay thought for a second, he’s climbed rock walls, and mountains before. “Kind of…” David nodded and waved Jay over. “Just grab the rope and slide down. Put these on first, don’t wanna get rope burn.” David handed Jay a pair of gloves from his pack, and Jay slipped them on. He then looked down off the side of the chair. Jay looked over at David with a nervous look.
David then stepped forward and grabbed the rope, “See ya at the bottom kid!” and he jumped off. Jay let out a small gasp as he watched David descend. David let himself fall, while holding the rope and jumping on and off the chair’s front side. He reached the bottom, looked up, and waved. Jay gulped as he grabbed the string. He gave a slight tug, checking to make sure everything was secure. He then took a deep breath and started his descent. Jay slowly slid down the rope, occasionally stopping himself whenever he felt himself going too fast. Eventually he made it to the bottom and landed next to David. Jay looked over and let go of the rope a little awkwardly. David grabbed the rope and whipped it. Jay watched as the rope’s wave moved up and dislodged the earring. The earring then started to fall towards the two. Jay instinctively protected himself while David caught the earring before it hit the ground. Jay put his arms down and watched as David hooked the earring onto the wooden belt, wrapping the rope around his belt, and tying it off at the end.
David looked over, “Alright come on, I’ll take ya to Andy. Do ya know em?” Jay was confused and shook his head no. David huffed, “Damn boy, must’ve hit your head pretty hard then. Andy’s been here for a few years; ya must’ve met him. Well, I haven’t been here for a while. Last time I was here was 2 years ago, and clearly there’s a new Bean here.” “Bean?” Jay asked, and it finally bugged him enough to finally say something. Why was this dude talking about beans? David looked over, slightly annoyed, “Either your head is really damaged or your parents were those weirdos who called them Human Beings. They’re Human Beans, ya know? The tall folk that live in the open spaces of the house. The ones who can fit in that chair you were in.” Jay froze, he had to be dreaming. He was a bean, but not the size of one. Well, he was taller than an actual bean, but the beans David was talking about, he was one.
David waved and started to walk, “Come on Head Injury, let’s get ya inside the wall before the bean comes back.” Jay just followed David. This had to be a dream, and if it was, he might as well just ride through it. Jay knew it was tough to wake yourself up from a dream, so just decided to leave it be.
David led him over to the bookshelf against the wall and started to crawl underneath. Jay grimaced and followed David. Once underneath David had pulled out a small Lightbulb that has some wires wrapped around a small battery attached to his backpack via paperclip. He then turned the light on and continued his crawl, with Jay following close behind. Jay realized how dusty it was under the bookshelf and made a mental note to clean under it later. Eventually the made it to the wall, where David grabbed part of the baseboard and slide it open revealing a small space inside the wall. Both men climbed through and stood up in the corridor. Jay looked around in awe as David closed the baseboard. The corridor was mostly empty, with nails and wood being visible. There was some fiber glass way above them that was being pushed up and held by long sticks which seems glued or forced into the ground and walls. Along the interior walls there were push pins that held up a line of Christmas lights, although they weren’t on.
David started to walk along the corridor, “Looks like Andy’s still here. Otherwise, these lights wouldn’t be on. Heh, anyway come on. It’ll be a bit of a walk.” Jay nodded and followed, still taking in the sites he was seeing. It was amazing, there was a whole little world in his walls. He knew it was probably just a dream, but still it was a sight to see.
As the pair walked, they went through many different pieces of carved out wood that would have been a support beams or similar types of support. Eventually they came across a ladder made of nails, metal bits, wood chips, and string, that was tied to a single nail. Both started to climb down the ladder which wasn’t too long but if Jay’s memory served him right, this ladder would put them underneath the ground floors well floor. Once at the bottom, David continued to lead Jay through the walls. The Christmas lights acted as a sort of guide of where they needed to go. Jay looked through the floor space, noticing that the insolation was either cut or pushed to the side, creating a pathway for them to walk through. Eventually Jay noticed a few pipes coming from the ceiling and following along the path they walked. They looked to be water pipes, and at one-point Jay noticed a small cut along the wall where the pipe was nearby. The pipe had a wire wrapped around it, multiple times and the wire then led into the small cut area. Jay watched as a drop of water flowed from the pipe and followed the wire into the small cut. He looked closer and noticed that the cut was shaped as a bowl and led along the wall in a slope towards somewhere. His eyes followed the slit in the wall until his eyes met something that resembled a home. It was made of wood, and thick cardboard. It had some holes that formed windows that had netting within them. The walls the home met the ceiling and had sticky tack and other stuff, that Jay couldn’t place, holding the walls together. The door was a playing card that had a small handle put through it. It looked to be one of those bead things that you could stick through paper.
Jay was amazed at the detail of the house and David chuckled, “Impressed? Andy is a pretty handy guy. Although I helped him with the waterway here. He should be able to help ya and get your head all fixed up. As well as some proper clothing. I won’t ask how you got into those doll clothes. Heard enough of those stories in my lifetime.” Jay stared confused; he should correct the man but before he could say anything they were at the door. “HEY ANDY! GET OUT HERE!” shouted David.
From inside the house Jay could hear a small crash as well as some quick steps. The door then swung open to reveal a young man, who had shaggy brown hair, and hazel eyes. “David! You haven’t been here in years!” The two men embraced, “Bring me anything interesting.”
David chuckled, “Well of course, I brought you this guy!” He then pulled Jay over and grinned. “His name is Jay, ya must know him.” Jay looked over at Andy who smiling eyes looked over at him, then they dropped. Andy’s face paled.
“David, that’s the bean.” Andy said with a scared undertone.
“The hell ya talking about? If he was a bean, he’d be taller.”
“David, he’s the bean. I don’t know how or why he is small; I just know that HE IS THE BEAN OF THIS HOUSE.”
David looked at Jay, who at this point was feeling very awkward. “Wait…Are ya the bean?”
Jay nodded and said, “I wanted to bring it up, but I forgot.”
David looked between Jay and Andy, “Well fuck.” he said, “You should’ve said something sooner. Dammit. Andy listen…” David paused looking over Jay before turning back to Andy, “We have a rare opportunity. Technically you’ve been seen by the bean of the house, which means you need to leave. However, he is small like us. So I could…get rid of him” Jay paled at that and instinctively stepped back, causing David to glance at him.
“I’m not letting you kill him.” Andy said bluntly, causing David to sigh.
“What? Why?” David asked.
“Because! I’m curious how he got this way, and maybe…” Andy looked off to the side, “Maybe he’ll be like…”
“Ugh, FINE! We’ll figure out what happened and then we’ll fix this mess. But if he does anything to hurt ya, he’s gone! You know I can take out a bean of any size.” Jay was still trying to figure out what just happened. David had been so nice, but the second it was revealed he was a bean, everything changed. He shuddered as David glared back at him, but David’s eyes soften. He then turned away, “Fucking Dammit, I’m too old for this shit. Alright let head inside and chat.”
Jay nodded and followed David inside Andy’s home. When they entered, Jay was greeted with a small living room. There were a couple bean bags, that were obviously old pin cushions. A watch hung on the wall and ticked away the time. There were more Christmas Lights along the wall, these ones were white, while before was a mix of different styles and colors. Although since the power was out there were a few candles and small lightbulbs attached to batteries scattered around the room, providing some light. The walls were covered in a variety of stickers and trinkets, as well as some tools. There was a belt similar to David’s that hung on the wall, but it didn’t have the same wooden peg in the middle. There was a variety of hooks, some were earrings and others were fishhooks or bent wires. Some of these hooks had strings attached to them, while others were paired up with a similar looking hook.
David ushered Jay over into a bean bag and had him sit down. Both David and Andy were looking at him when David spoke up, “Alright tell us what happened to ya.”
“Well, I woke up this morning, went downstairs since I couldn’t get back to sleep…made a cup of coffee. I drank the cup while sitting in my chair and then I just start getting sleepy, so I fall asleep. I then wake up to well…” Jay pointed to all of himself, “this”
David hummed and Andy gave a confused look, “Wait” Andy said, “Isn’t coffee supposed to wake you up? Your normal coffee does.” David and Jay both looked at Andy with raised eyebrows. “Listen I drink it sometimes okay; I borrow a little bit and make my own. Don’t judge me.”
“Ain’t judging.” Said David, “But you’re right coffee typically wakes people up, was this decaf?” He asked Jay.
Jay shook his head, “No, at least I don’t think so. The coffee I had was from a friend. It didn’t have a label and all the told me was ‘to make it like usual’ and ‘to make it on a day when you don’t have anywhere to go’ or something like that.”
“Alright, seems the coffee is the culprit.” David said. Both Jay and Andy turned to him with a questioning look, which received a sigh from David. “The only thing ya did different today was make a different kind of coffee. By the looks of it, that must’ve been what did this to ya.” David stood up, ”I’m gonna go collect some of it. To investigate it and stuff. I’ll be back. Andy, don’t fuck this up. I’m trusting you won’t let em run off or hurt ya. Alright?” Andy nodded and with that David was off.
Jay and Andy were left alone, in silence.
“So uh, Andy?”
Andy looked over at Jay with a hum of acknowledgement.
“You’ve been living in my walls and taking stuff from me?”
“Well first off, I borrowed stuff from you. I only grab what I need, but otherwise yes.”
“Okay…” Jay looked off to the side. He didn’t know what to talk about, what do you talk about with someone whose been living in your house for longer than you? Heck, the guy is typically smaller than him.
“Hey, Jay?” Jay looked over at Andy who seemed nervous, “When and if you get back to normal…are you going to…get me out…or kill me?”
Jay was a bit shocked and thought for a moment. Andy was basically taking his stuff, living under his roof without paying rent. How would he even pay though. Although if he did do anything to Andy, David probably would kill him. Jay didn’t want to take that chance, even at his normal size. He looked back at Andy who was getting more nervous with every second of silence that passed. Andy was just trying to live, just trying to survive. Jay’s thoughts started thinking about this instead. He wondered how he would feel if he had to do what the did.
With a sigh Jay looked at Andy, “No, I won’t hurt you if I get back to normal. I won’t kick you out either.” Andy seemed relieved but there was still a hint of doubt in his eyes.
“Alright. Cool…can I ask why?”
“Cause dude, you’re just trying to live your life and shit! You aren’t hurting me by being here, Hell I didn’t even notice you were here! I probably would have never noticed if I hadn’t shrunk to this size.” Jay shouted.
It was now Andy’s turn to be shocked, he had a slight blush appear on his face. Guess he didn’t expect Jay to be so passionate about this. “Thanks. That means a lot.” Andy said.
“So, can I ask a question?” asked Jay, to which Andy nodded. “If you lived in this house for longer than I have, does that mean you’ve seen…the embarrassing things I did?”
Andy burst out laughing, “Yeah! Like the time you were playing a game and you died, only to shout and fall out of your chair. Then you laid there for like 5 minutes only then to say OW. OH or the time you were dancing around the kitchen singing Barbie girl at the top of your lungs. OR th-“
“OKAY! I get it!” Jay said frustrated, which only seemed to amuse Andy.
“Hahaha don’t worry though. I sang with you on occasion. Sometimes I want to play your games, but You might notice a new file and I got small hands.” Andy said, while lifting his hands and making grabbing motions.
Jay chuckled, “Hey maybe you can. I mean you could make a file on any game you want. We could even play together!”
Andy smiled, “That would be awesome! You really mean it?”
“Hell yeah dude! Heck I got Minecraft on my phone, so we could play that together, or even like Mario Party or something. The switch controllers are pretty small, so they might be easy for you to use. Then I could get to know you too, I mean we are technically roommates.”
Andy grinned, “Yeah guess we sort of are. Aw man, that’s so great to hear.” He looked down, “I’ve always wanted to be friends with a bean, ever since I was young. Although I was always told they’d hurt us. I mean David’s been through a lot, sorry about how he acts towards you now that he knows you’re a bean.”
“Hey why does David hate beans so much?”
“Well, um…don’t tell him I told you this. When he was way younger his parents and him were captured by a bean. His parents fought back as much as they could, which caused the bean to just…crush them…right in front of him. He was trapped and scared, but he somehow managed to escape. However, while running away, he felt anger build in him. He wanted revenge but he didn’t how to get it. So, he decided to simply take the guys eyes out. While the guy was asleep, he tied the man down, and after securing him he woke the bean up. Shouted a few things and stabbed his eyes out, he permanently blinded the guy. After that, he ran out of there. While running he meet a very young girl, younger than him. She was lost and had no family, just like him. He took her in, and they sort of became siblings. That’s basically his origin story.”
Jay couldn’t believe it, he was shocked, “Damn dude. That explains everything. No wonder he hates beans.”
“Well, he doesn’t hate all beans.” Andy said. Jay raised an eyebrow in confusion. “He got caught again later down the line. He was a teenager, and he had a few kills under his belt. He was getting cocky and he slipped up one day. He got tangled and was found by a bean. He tried to bite her but couldn’t reach, he wanted to give her a quick cut to show he wasn’t to be messed with, but his arms were tied. He also apparently twisted his ankle. She was worried about him and carefully got him down and tried to untangle him. He obviously didn’t want her help, but she insisted. After untangling him and setting him loose, he tried to run only to fall. She helped wrapped his leg and just let him go.”
Jay started to lean in, David had a crazy life. Andy continued, “He got back home and told his sister that they had to leave soon cause he was seen. He explained they couldn’t leave just yet cause of his leg. Things then went from bad to worse. He got sick, and they were running out of supplies. So, his sister, her name’s Lily by the way, had to borrow and she wasn’t the best at it. She was caught, by the same bean. The bean was very gentle and helped Lily get supplies. David found out and was confused and furious. Lily shouldn’t have had to gone out, but he was thankful to the bean. He eventually healed and went to talk to the bean. If things went south, he knew he could get out. When he went to talk with her, she was kind. She never reached for him or raised her voice too loud. She was respectful. David asked if she told anyone about him or his sister, she said no. She then said that she knew they lived in the walls, and that she was okay with it, her family might not be but whatever. She asked if they would be staying, David didn’t initially think they should but before he could answer his sister ran out shouting yes. Apparently after the bean proved herself through some tests, David decided to stay. They stayed with that bean and even moved with her when she grew older. David may wander around nowadays, but he often stays with his sister who still lives with that same bean.”
Jay was amazed, David someone who supposedly hated beans, had one as a friend. “Wow” Jay whispered.
“Yeah! I’ve actually met her! She is really kind and is known as the one bean who will help you. She lives in this neighborhood. Maybe you’ve met her? Her name is Laura. She’s a bit weird though to say the least.”
Jay thought back, “oh yeah, she did seem weird. She brought me muffins when I first moved in.”
Andy nodded, “Those were good muffins.”
“HEY! You ate my welcome muffins! How could you” Jay said jokingly with a smile.
Andy laughed “YEAH I DID! THEY’RE GOOD!” Both men laughed.
The two continued to talk about a multitude of things while waiting for David to return. They talked about games and shows they’ve both seen. Apparently, Andy liked to watch the TV whenever Jay was watching it. Andy shared some food he had borrowed, joking that he was technically giving it back this time. They slowly became more and more close, eventually feeling like they could call each other friends.
Suddenly the door burst open, “I’M BACK AND I’VE GOT NEWS!” shouted David. He walked inside with a stupid grin and placed a bag onto a table. Jay and Andy quickly got up and walked over to the table, which was made out of a plastic container.
David dumped out the contents to reveal coffee grinds, “AW come on man! You got coffee all over my table!” Andy looked annoyed and David waved him off.
“Ah don’t worry about it. But take a look at this.” David dug through the coffee and pulled out some strange looking pieces. It looked like small crystals that shimmered in the light. They were mostly clear but had some green specks hidden within.
“What is that?” Asked Jay.
“I’ve only ever heard it called Minima, which is just Latin for tiny. Basically, this little thing is a drug that can shrink people for a specific amount of time. It’s very rare and honestly, I’m surprised to see it around. Thought it was out of circulation.”
“Wait, how do you know what it is?” asked Andy.
David smiled, “Ey, I was told about it by other wanderers like me. It’s sort of a secret for a certain group of people. Listen some beans would take this to get away for a while. Going under the radar or off the grid. Heh, some older wanderers back in the day said that overdosing on it can make you permanently tiny and that’s how us borrowers came to be haha!”
Jay slowly sat down, “So is there a chance that I’-“
“Stuck this way? No, wouldn’t say that. Probably takes more than a couple crystals to OD on this stuff.” David said, “But I don’t know much about this stuff. Only that its pretty ancient and the stuff I told ya. I can identify it, since one old fella taught me too, just in case. I don’t know how to make, or what ingredients ya need, or how you got some.”
David turned to Jay, expecting an answer. “Well, my friend Tori gave me the coffee, she said not to drink it when I had a busy day, or something like that. She also said not to use all of it at once.”
David hummed, “Seems like she knew it was drugged and knew about the possibility of taking too much. Probably found a dealer of some sort and wanted to share the experience with ya.”
Jay huffed, “Could’ve told me what it did instead of just saying ‘it’s a surprise!’”
Andy had a questioning face and he looked up, “So how long does he have before he grows back? I don’t want to seem rude but, if he grows back while in here…weellll it won’t be a fun time for anyone.”
“True, alright then. Let’s get him out of here, and I’ll help ya p-“
“David, I’m not going to leave.” Andy said plainly.
David looked over and sighed, “Ya’ll bonded while I was gone didn’t ya?” Both Andy and Jay nodded causing David to rub the bridge of his nose in annoyance. “Damnit” He looked over and marched up to Jay, grabbing his shirt, “Listen here, treat him good alright?” David then whispered, “You seem like a good guy, but if you fuck up. I’ll Fuck you up in the same way, got it?” Jay nodded frantically and David let go, backing off.
“Did you threaten him?” Andy asked.
David just smiled and waved his hand, “Come on boy, let’s get ya out of here before ya break the place. I’ll be back Andy!” Jay nodded and followed David out the door.
Andy waved from his doorway, “See ya later Jay, it was cool to finally meet you! In a not very awkward way!” David glared back at Andy as Andy laughed and closed the door.
“Um?” Jay wanted to ask, but David stopped him.
“Ain’t telling ya that story. Taking it to my grave. Told him, that was a mistake.” David grumbled, and continued down the hallway within the wall.
As the pair walked along the wall the Christmas lights that were off, slowly flickered back on. David nodded, and turned off his light and continued walking. With the lights on, the walls weren’t as frightening. It was beautiful. The lights shined just bright enough and scattered along the insides of the wall. The fiberglass that was pushed to the side, reflected the colorful lights, making the fiberglass look like it had captured a rainbow. It was Magical, to say the least.
“It’s really cool in here” Jay said.
David chuckled, “Well, for a first timer maybe. You get used to seeing stuff like this when you live in it forever, but I’ll admit.” He glanced around, “One of the nicest corridors I’ve ever walked through.”
They continued walking until they reached a familiar area. David pushed on the wall, revealing the underside of the bookcase. Both him and Jay crawled underneath, closing the door behind them, and made their way out onto the floor.
“Whelp, here ya are kid. I’ll leave ya to it.” David glanced at the clock, “When did you take it?”
“Um…around 10 I think.” Jay looked up at the clock, and saw that it was a quarter til 5.
“Should be wearing off by now, well. Good Luck to ya!”
“Wait, what if it doesn’t wear off.” Jay asked with a hint off worry in his voice.
“Well, in the unlikelihood that ya somehow overdosed and are stuck like this…Guess ya’d be a borrower then. If that happens let me know, haha! I’ll get ya set up.”
“Thought you hated beans.”
“Yeah but, if ya are small like us, ya are one of us. So, don’t worry about it.” David walked off back towards the bookshelf waving, “Maybe I’ll see ya later, maybe I won’t. Who knows, cause I don’t.”
David disappeared under the bookshelf leaving Jay alone in the middle of the huge room. It was strange to say the least. Everything that happened, perhaps it wasn’t a dream. There were tiny people living in his wall, and he became friends with them. Jay looked around the room, thinking about how small he was. He knew Tori always talked about what she thought it’d be like to be small, but he didn’t realize or notice how accurate she was. He thought she was just really imaginative, not taking a shrinking drug to experience it. Jay wondered if she met the Borrowers or not, and if she did…did she befriend them?
With these thoughts and more running through his mind he realized something, his body started to ache. He looked down at himself and noticed the ground was slowly moving away from him. He once again was glad his clothes stayed consistent with his size. After a few more seconds he was back to his normal height. Jay looked around and everything felt off, guess he got used to being small. He walked over to the chair and picked up his phone.
Looking over the messages, he saw one from his mom wondering if he was okay, and then he saw two messages from Tori.
“Hey dude, got a lot of time today. You should try that coffee lol” – 11 AM
“You drank the coffee didn’t you” was sent alongside a picture of smug SpongeBob at 1 PM.
Jay huffed and opened his messages.
“Yes, I drank your damn coffee, WHAT THE HELL MAN?!?”
A few second passed and his phone dinged with a message, he opened it and saw a laughing gif.
“LMAO got back to normal now?”
“YES! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THE COFFEE WOULD SHRINK ME”
“LOL I wanted it to be a surprise! Find anything interesting? 👀”
“You mean like the dust under my bookshelf?”
“clean your house more. But you didn’t meet anything or anyone?”
Jay froze, so she did know about Borrowers. “Uh, sort of?”
“SORT OF??? YOU MET ONE!?! ONE OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE!?!”
Jay was unsure whether or not to say yes. He didn’t know if she had met them or not and he didn’t want to expose Andy or David. David would kill him for it. However, his phone dinged again with a message.
“THEY ARE SO COOL RIGHT?!? Like I met one, they freaked out a bit, but I explained that they were fine and I was chill with them. In fact I may have fangirled a bit around them, whoops :P”
Jay couldn’t help but smile, Tori did met them. “lol can’t believe you fangirled in front of them, you nerd”
“LOL, so you met one?”
“Can’t tell you, that’s going against a promis :P”
“OH SHIT! I BROKE MY PROMISE! DAMNIT!”
Jay actually laughed out loud before typing, “LOL you fucked up. But it should be okay, I mean we both know the same thing right? We just can’t tell anyone else”
“Good point, anyway I’ll ome over tomorrow, ya know when the snow is cleared up. Gotta go back to work”
“HA! Sucks to be you”
A final message was sent by Tori that was just a middle finger and a smile. Jay grinned and sat down in his chair. He did need to talk with Tori about the drug and how she got it. He had so many questions for her, but for now he was tired from his adventure. As Jay sat in his chair, he wondered if it would be cool to invite David and Andy to a quick meal tonight, as a thank you for everything they did.

Send Her to Me: Teen! Kit Walker x Reader
Description: basically high school kit walker is trying to ask y/n out to the dance but everytime he tries to ask her out he keeps on missing her so he asks for his friends to send her to him
Word count: 1,702
Warnings: cursing, fluff? Nothing else that I can think of :)
A/n: I had a lot of fun making this, I’ve been in my 60s/70s phase as of recent so I’ve been listening to a lot of 60s garage rock and this is inspired by “send her to me” by the dark knights which is amazing you should go check the song out expeditiously. This is taking place in November of 1957 btw :)))) enjoy!!! Sorry if this is messy I finished writing this at 3:48 am  which explains lots of the spelling and punctuation errors it’s whatever
Link to send her to me by the dark knights-https://youtu.be/BJKQks4neiI
It was November of 1957 and it was Kit Walkers final year of high school
He just wanted the stress of all of the work and uncertain future to be over
But there was one thing he would miss, you
He’s had a huge crush on you ever since you were in 9th grade, but only now worked up the courage to ask you out
You were putting your things away in your locker when you saw kit coming towards you
“Hey y/n”
“Oh- hi kit! what class you got next?”
“History. you?”
“English”
“Oh- uh… cool”
“Yeah.cool?” you chuckled
“Um-“
“Yeah?”
“Would you want to-“ he stops for a while
“Would I want to what?”
“Would you want to-“
he gets cut off by a loud bell
“Sorry! I gotta go i can’t be late again that’ll be three days in a row, catch you after this class though?”
“Oh. yeah sure” Kit says almost whispering and looking down at his shoes after waving at you
He went to history, though his attention was on the clock waiting for the next chance to see you
Finally, the bell rang and he went right to your locker, but…you weren’t there
He didn’t know, but you just didn’t need to go to your locker that class, but he knew he’d be able to talk to you in lunch
He went to his friends and asked them if they would send a message for him. He knew at least two of them had that class with you
“Hey- hold on wait, Jimmy tell y/n to meet me at the 6th lunch table, I keep on missing her at hall time”
“What for?”
“Nothing I just wanted to talk to her, if you don’t have her class next ask Henry I know he has the same class as her right now”
“Alright good luck… on whatever crazy shit your doing”
“Yeah thanks” he chuckled and looked down at his shoes
You were in your class when you saw one of Kits friends walking into your class, which was normal. But, he never talked to you in particular
He approached you and spoke quickly and quietly
“Kit wants you to meet him at the sixth table in the cafeteria in lunchtime”
“Why”
“I don’t know? He didn’t give a reason”
“Alright… thanks”
*45 minutes later*
Finally, it was lunchtime and he spotted you sitting alone in the corner of the cafeteria, where he told you to meet him
He walked over to the table and sat right in front of you
“Hey what’re you doing here all alone again”
you smiled and put a strand of hair behind your ear
“Sorry about forgetting to tell you i wouldn’t be at my locker, i forgot i didn’t need any books for my class after english”
“no don’t worry about it it’s fine”
“So what did you wanna tell me kit?”
“Oh,uh i wanted to actually show you something”
He walked over and dragged his lunch to your side and sat down
He pulled out a photo from his bag
“Here it is”
He slid the photo to your side
“Oh my god Kit! That’s us! God we were so little” you laughed
“But- how’d you find these i thought you lost all your pictures in the move”
“Yeah, but we found a tin inside of the box with my moms clothes and it had all my baby photos and stuff like that”
“You got any more?”
“Yeah, If you wanna come over afterschool and I could look through them with you. I haven’t gotten a chance to see them all yet?”
“Yeah, of course! we’d have to walk though, i can’t go alone”
“yeah that’s no problem, meet me by the front of the school at around 2:00?”
“K, see you then”
He knew this was going to work perfectly, you would be thinking about the past you guys had and then he’d ask you out and you would just have to say yes
2:00 came and you were out in front waiting for about 8 minutes, he was a little late but he came out eventually
“Sorry i kept you waiting so long. That son of a bitch Mr. Wells made me stay after class for not finishing the test in time”
“No don’t worry it’s okay,it’s only 2:08 you didn’t keep me waiting for that long” you said while smiling at him
“Alright, let’s go- wait did you call
your house and tell them you were coming over?”
“ Uh-yeah I told my mom i’d be home a little late and i’d be at your place for school”
“For school?”
“She wouldn’t let me at any guys house if it wasn’t school related, even though she’s known you since you were born”
“Makes sense” he laughs and looks at you
The cold november breeze made you start to shiver and you put your books close to your chest but it was no use
Kit noticed you were getting cold and gave you his jacket, and even though you told him you weren’t cold, he knew you just didn’t want to seem like you needed anything, so he put it on you anyways
you made it to his house and he got his key out
you went in and his parents weren’t home
His dad was at work, and his mom left a note saying she wouldn’t be home until around 8 as she was out running errands
“Well i guess this is my house for the after noon” he said smiling
You laughed and smiled back
You asked if he wanted his jacket back, but he said you could keep it, so you put it on completely
“So,you wanna eat anything?”
“No, thanks though”
“I’ll go get the box then wait here”
You sat on the couch and heard him coming down shortly after you touched down on the seat cushion
“got it!”
you sat on the floor and the both of you looked through the box and uncovered dozens of forgotten memories
“Oh my god that was your 12th birthday”Kit said pointing to a photo from 1952
“Look at this one we were babies here!” you pulled out the photo form the small stack
“Kit is that you?” you pointed to a picture of him in a bathtub as a baby
He grabbed it and slid the photo under the couch
“No uh- thats my cousin. You won’t see him much because he’s- twice removed? Yeah”
“Yeah sure. don’t be embarrassed you were cute”
“Yeah whatever” he rolled his eyes
“It’s so crazy that we’ve known each other literally since we were born” you say still looking at the pictures
“Well technically…i’m older by a month so since you were born” Kit whispers
“You’re only older because you were born premature” you patted him on the back while getting up to go to the couch
He got up to sit next to you and turned on the tv for background noise
He scooted in closer to you and eventually you found that he had his arm wrapped around you and you were falling asleep
“hey it’s only 4:15, wake up” he tapped your shoulder
“Yeah i know- i just went to bed super late last night and i-“
“No it’s fine- do you want me to drive you home i could use the extra one we have”
“no i uh- i like it here it’s quiet, plus i can’t sleep now. I won’t be able to make it to school tomorrow”
“y/n. Its Friday ?”
“Oh.yeah well still”
“Okay nevermind” kit faintly laughed
You got up to get a snack as you hadn’t eaten for quite some time, then went right back to the couch
You sat crossed on the floor, looking right at the pictures on the wall
You observed all of them, specifically just seeing how much he’s changed over the years
He suddenly spoke out of nowhere
“Hey, so you heard about that senior ball the schools havin in a couple weeks”
“Yeah what about It?”
“You uh- planning on going”
“Probably, I just don’t really have anyone to go with”
“If you want, I could take you. I- I mean it doesn’t have to be like as a date or anything we could’ve go as friends if you wa-“
You hugged him and stopped him from saying anything else
“Thank you so much kit,I didn’t wanna have to go alone. And… yes we could go as a date ”
“Really?” He scratched his neck
You nodded and looked at him for a while, contemplating what you were going to do
You kissed him, out of nowhere
Now, you had just had your first kiss, and he had just had his
It was extremely awkward afterwards, you both just stared at each other and didn’t know what to say
“So uh- what’re we gonna wear” you said, still being in front of him as you were after you kissed him
“ Uhhh- i”
“we could match?” You started to get up to leave
“Yeah, we could match “ he spoke breathily
“I- uh, I gotta go my moms probably worried sick about me it’s”
you look down to check your watch
“7:15!”
“I could drive you and take the spare car? It’s kinda cold out”
“Oh yeah thanks sure “
The short 7 minute drive was quiet but lovely and you couldn’t help but stare at him for the whole car ride
You arrived home and quickly  walked to the door
You rang the doorbell and your mom opened the door, she looked pretty pissed but nothing over the top
You turned around and Kit was still there in the car, and your mom moved away from the door
You walked back a little closer to the where his car was  and he said “ come by my place tommorow for school”
You laughed quietly and whispered “yeah for school… goodnight kit”
“Goodnight”
And he drove away into the distance, back to his house
You went to your room, and got ready for bed, and all you could think about was Kit and the wonderful day you had with him. And about the wonderful day you would have with him tomorrow

[ traffic jams ]
pairing: suna rintarou x gn!reader
word count: 1.8k words
contains: ‘timestamps’ in a way, some shenanigans to pass the time, slightly awkward!suna, a bit too many ratatouille references, friendship with mutual crushing
a/n: i lowkey miss the traffic jams going home and one thing that struck me when reading suna’s bio on the wiki was that he doesn’t actually live near inarizaki so i thought it would be cute to have like a suna x reader commute fic
>> 5:45 pm:
you sigh for what was probably the fifth time that hour as you stare at the road map on your phone. the highway you were currently on was marked with red, indicating a traffic jam that stretched for kilometers. ‘estimated travel time: 4 hours’ the top of your phone screen read.
‘great, and it’s a friday night on top of that.’ you rub the side of your temple and stare out the window of the bus. you already knew what going to inarizaki, a high school all the way out in hyogo, while you were currently living in tokyo meant when it came to travel time. you often had to wake up early and get home late with the long travel time to school and back. most days, it was manageable and a one hour commute meant a good day. however, there were days when a storm was raging outside, delaying the train and bus schedules, and road accidents that led to the kind of situation you were currently in.
after leaving at five pm, you spent the past hour doing some homework in the bus and now you were fresh out of things to do. you’re also avoiding using your phone too much and draining your battery. right before you’re about to put on your earphones, your bus seatmate stirs awake.
aside from you, there is one other student who also commutes all the way to school from aichi, the prefecture where you live: suna rintarou. you know him as one of the regulars in the volleyball team and that he’s in the same year as you. neither of you ever really interacted much but took the same bus to and from school. sometimes you’d greet each other good morning and recently had this silent agreement to sit next to each other.
you watch as suna blinks sleepily before glancing out the window beside you. “where are we?” he mumbles.
“still in hyogo. it’s been an hour,” you answer.
“damn, really?” suna groans when he realizes just how terrible the traffic is outside. “and it’s a friday too.”
“tell me about it,” you chuckle mirthlessly. “also, estimated travel time is four hours so there go my exciting friday plans,” you add sarcastically.
“sorry you have to spend them with me,” suna smirks at you. your stomach flutters and you smile nervously. despite not knowing him too well, you couldn’t help but find him quite attractive. in fact, the reason why you got up early in the morning and tried to leave school at the same time as him was because you enjoyed your daily commutes with suna so much. even more so when you two started sitting next to each other.
“well, i don’t think that would be too bad,” you clear your throat. “we could play ‘i spy’ for four more hours.”
“or,” suna grins, leaning down and opening his backpack before pulling out his laptop. you chuckle and pull out your earphones. “we could watch ratatouille.”
“of all the things to pirate. you really chose ratatouille?”
“fuck disney, am i right?” suna smirks.
“fuck disney.”
>> 7:46 pm
“good on you for making sure that your laptop was fully charged before leaving school,” you say, stretching your arms a bit as soon as the credits roll.
“hmm, yeah,” suna sighs and leans his head back. “though, i think i made the wrong decision.”
“how come?”
suna crosses his arms over his stomach and squeezes his eyes shut. “because we watched ratatouille, i’m hungry now.”
“oh...” you nod your head, just as you feel a rumble in your stomach. “oh,” you repeat.
“yeah,” suna groans. “do you have any food on you?”
“i have...” you rustled through your backpack before procuring “a bag of peanuts.”
“hmm, that’ll have to do,” suna said, plucking the packet out of your hand. “say, one nut each per two minutes? just to ration it out?”
you sigh. “it’s going to be a long night.”
>> 8:10 pm
“there it is, the last two nuts,” suna says gazing at the two peanuts in the palm of his hand before offering one of them to you.
“i really, really thought they would last longer,” you sigh.
“they would have if you kept them for yourself,” suna raises his eyebrows.
“i’m too nice for that,” you giggle. “besides, i’d feel too guilty seeing you all hungry.”
“and i might guilt-trip you just a little bit,” suna says. “like, toss you mournful looks and everything.”
“no! not the mournful looks,” you cry and the two of you burst out laughing. you lift your peanut towards him. “toast?”
“toast,” suna snickers. you toast your peanuts before popping them into your mouth. you’re both still far from home.
>> 8:30 pm
“i spy with my little eye... something red and blinking.”
“oh my god, it’s another car taillight isn’t it?”
“... it is,” suna admits, blinking lazily out the window. “i mean, it’s all taillights out there. anyway, your turn.” he nudges your arm with his elbow.
“i spy with my little eye... “ you blink and yawn. “some really tired passengers.”
“i’m looking at one right now,” suna snickers at you.
you two share a glance before simultaneously sighing.
“i want to be home,” you say. you don’t even have to look at suna to know he’s nodding in agreement.
>> 9:00 pm
“chicken nuggets.”
“suna, please stop,” you groan.
“it’s all i can think of,” suna shakes his head. the two of you are staring up at the ceiling of bus, trying and failing to forget your hunger. “when we get out of here, i’m going to the first fast-food restaurant i see and ordering chicken nuggets. also ice cream from the convenience store. you know, the soft-serve one in the cone.”
“yeah, you only mentioned that five times for the past hour,” you roll your eyes.
“how bout you? what’s the first thing you’re getting when we finally get to the stop?” suna nudges your ribs. you close your eyes, knowing that nothing good will come out of talking about food. but then again, not thinking about it wasn’t going to make you any less hungrier either.
“strawberry yogurt drink,” you answer. “i want that strawberry yogurt drink that they always have in convenience stores?”
“oh that one,” suna hums. “you’re literally the only person i know who likes that.”
“which is great because the vending machines never run out of them,” you add. “you what else i want?” you ask after a beat of silence.
“what?”
“that mushroom remy cooked in the beginning of the movie,” you giggle. suna shakes his head as a smile blooms on his face. now that you think about it, you’ve never really seen that kind of goofy smile on him before.
>> 9:30 pm
suna wakes up for the second time during that bus ride after a short nap. it doesn’t surprise at all that he’s still in the bus. what does, though, is seeing you fast asleep with your head on his shoulder. you must have accidentally leaned on him while you two drifted off to sleep but suna was far from annoyed.
he was never really one to approach random people to strike up a conversation, but he always enjoyed seeing you, wearing the same uniform as him, waiting at the same bus stop he took every morning. unlike suna, you were way more productive during your daily commutes by doing your homework in the bus. once or twice, he’d glance at your pretty handwriting or pick up your pencil after you accidentally dropped it.
suna noticed that sometimes, you’d pack cereal in ziploc bags to eat for breakfast. that it would take you less than five minutes to fall asleep in the bus when there are exams. that you rotated between the same five hairclips throughout the week.
the sound of the bus engine coming to a stop and passengers abruptly standing up brings suna out of his thoughts. with a start, he realizes that you’re both finally at the bus stop in your hometown.
“y/n. wake up,” suna nudges you softly. he only gets to appreciate your sleepy face for a few seconds before breaking the good news. “we’re home.”
“we are?” you wake up instantly at that and look out the window. “oh my god, we are!” you squeal. suna grins as the two of you quickly pick up your bags and leave the bus.
“okay so the nearest fast-food place is the one a few blocks away from here,” suna says as the two of you leave the bus. god, he’s starving. he can already taste the chicken nuggets.
“eat a whole bunch of them for me,” you laugh. suna stops and looks at you.
“i...” suna realizes with a hint of embarrassment that he was under the assumption you two would be going together. “if... if you’re hungry too you can come, if you want.”
“oh.” there’s genuine surprise in your voice and suna feels a bit of relief. “i... i thought.”
“of course you don’t have to if you really need to head home.”
“it’s not that i just, rarely ever get invited to things,” you chuckle and hook your thumbs into the straps of your backpack. “so... shall we go?”
suna feels the corner of his lip turn up in a smile. “chicken nuggets are on me.”
>> monday, 6:00 am:
you sprint to the bus stop as fast as your legs could carry you. rarely were you ever late for your bus, especially with how quickly you went through your morning routine. but this time, your sibling hogged the bathroom for five minutes too long, thus leading you to your current predicament.
the bus is thankfully still there when you reach the stop and you don’t hesitate before flinging yourself inside, only to be greeted with the seats full of passengers. ‘damn,’ you mentally curse. the next bus doesn’t arrive until twenty minutes later and you were surely going to come in to class late and--
“y/n.”
you hear suna’s voice call out to your right. he lifts his bacpack off the seat beside him and gestures for you to sit.
he had saved a seat for you.
“thank you so much,” you smile gratefully and slide into the seat while catching your breath.
“sure thing, busmate,” suna smirks at you. “i, ah, also got you this.” he reaches into his backpack before handing you something. it’s a carton of your favorite strawberry-yogurt drink.
you have to press your lips together to keep the giddy smile off your face as you accept it from suna. “thanks... busmate.”
“so,” suna clears his throat. “i was thinking of what movies to pirate next in the event of another friday traffic jam. you got any ideas?”
“hmm, let me think...”
maybe traffic jams weren’t going to be so bad after all.

next stop iwa-chan!
playlist : just the two of us
iwaizumi gently gripped y/n’s hand as he pulled her through the dark halls of aoba johsai, his old high school. everything felt so surreal, the usually busy halls and bright sunlight that would cast through the big windows, reduced to nothing more than empty space left to be filled with the soft laughter and footsteps of the pair.
he wasn't sure what had struck him to take the girl on a spontaneous 2 hour train journey from tokyo to miyagi but he did it anyway. there was something about y/n that made him want to get to know her as much as he possibly could.
unsure of whether he was fully ready to commit to a relationship just yet, he wanted to take the girl he’d been talking to continuously back to where most of his memories were made. if he wanted to even begin to open up to her, he wanted to take her back to the start where he’d grown into the man he’d become that way she’d be getting to know him too.
-
the pair laughed as iwaizumi pulled her along all the halls and showed her all the classrooms he’d had his classes in and some of the stories that came with them. y/n listened intently laughing along with him as she gripped his hand tighter as they wandered through the closed school.
“when i said rebellious i meant someone who doesn't always wait for the stop sign before crossing the road, someone who shows up to somewhere they’re meant to be 5 minutes late with no explanation, i didn't mean someone who’d take me all the way down to miyagi and risk us getting caught breaking into a school.”
iwaizumi looked back at her and grinned.
“you should've been more specific.”
the girl rolled her eyes and allowed him to pull her further through the halls until they reached a big gymnasium. luckily the door was unlocked so iwaizumi didn't have to force it open.
“shame, would've liked to see you put your arms to good use.” y/n hummed as she brushed passed him and wandered into the spacious gym.
the latter laughed and quietly shut the door behind him as he turned to switch one of the back wall lights on leaving the room not too dark but light enough so the pair could see what they were doing.
whoever had used the gym last was obviously lazy and hadn't bothered putting the equipment away properly as the former alba johsai student noticed the poles of a net sticking out the half closed equipment cupboard.
“shittykawa wouldn't allow things to be left like this.” he muttered to himself as he went to pull the net out as y/n followed to help.
the two hoisted the net up and set it up securely as iwaizumi returned back to the cupboard to retrieve a ball.
y/n raised an eyebrow at the boy as he approached her.
“so now what? are we competing because i’ll have you know i was a pretty good ace if i do say so myself.”
iwaizumi snickered as he stretched out his broad shoulders.
“yeah? i don't doubt that y/n, you had one of the top 4 spikers in the country as a friend and he probably taught you a thing or two.”
“taught me a thing or two? excuse you but if you were to ask him i’m sure he’d tell you that i was the one who’d stay behind with him and akaashi and help him with line shots.”
the boy let out a low whistle as he bounced the ball on the floor a few times to check it wasn't deflating in any way.
“prove it.”
y/n pulled her hair back into a tight pony tail and playfully glared at him.
“oh i will.”
-
the two played for a good hour and fifteen minutes before deciding that they were going to need to leave soon so they best stop now. having cleaned the equipment up properly the two sat down on the floor for a short while. y/n checked her phone and saw that the next train would be at 3:45AM so they had 15 minutes to rest before having to leave the way they came if they wanted to get on that train.
“you’re not bad then.”
y/n scoffed and playfully hit iwaizumi’s shoulder as he laughed and sat up.
“sorry for dragging you along here, just felt like coming here.” he said softly as he gazed up at the high ceiling.
y/n hummed and smiled at him.
“it’s fine. i didn't specify how rebellious i like my men, you’re right, but you’re really the baddest of them all.”
“you ask and you get.”
y/n moved closer to iwaizumi as he looked down at her. although he’d only known the girl for a week and a bit, he felt like he’d known her forever. she’d been so open and easy to get along with it was almost like meeting her was just meant to be. iwaizumi knew it was too early to even think about having serious feelings but he still couldn't help but notice the butterflies that would set off whenever he was around her. she kept him on his toes and made him want more.
he sighed as he ran a hand through his short messy hair.
“something on your mind?” y/n asked.
“just thinking about how in such a short time you’ve affected me.’
“falling for me already? at least take me out on another date first.” y/n teased as he turned to fully face him.
“nah not quite yet, don’t get me wrong you're moving up the ranks of approval from me and we’re only on our second date but i still wanna get to know you a little more, it’s just been a while since i’ve done anything like this so i’m still trying to get back used to it.”
the girl tilted her head and looked into the boys pretty eyes.
“you mean you don't usually take girls on spontaneous breaking and entering dates?”
iwaizumi smiled as he flicked her head softly.
“nah, never done it before. you got the special treatment.”
y/n snorted and shooed his hand away from her head.
“what’s there to get used to then?”
thinking before answering, iwaizumi looked into the girls twinkling eyes and saw nothing but sincerity in them before he continued.
“i don't know. feelings? relationships? that sort of thing. it’s been a while and wasn't really something i wanted to get back into after my last but i guess you live and you learn.” he shrugged as he stood up brushing off any dust as he offered his hand to y/n.
“i won't ask what happened but, we’ll take things as they come. you interest me and i want to know more about you. it’s been a while since my last relationship too so we can figure things out together but no matter how long things take, i hope you’ll be happy to at least feel more comfortable with the idea of getting used to this sort of thing with me.”
still holding y/n’s hand tightly in his grip, iwaizumi pulled her into his chest as she brought his head down to press a soft kiss to the top of her head.
“i think maybe i’d like that y/n.”
the two of them walked out hand in hand as they took a slow walk back to the trainstation to catch their 3:45 train. nothing said between them, the comfortable silence wrapped the pair in their own little world as they gently swayed their arms back and fourth with each step they took.
things were still fresh and new to the pair of them but together, iwaizumi felt like maybe y/n was the girl he’d want to learn and try again with in the future. he still couldn't say for sure, but after tonight he knew he had to see more of her. the reassurance she gave him made his heart warm.
the duo paid their train fare and stepped onto the carriage as y/n quietly yawned. 10 minutes into the train ride back and she’d drifted off into a gentle sleep. iwaizumi noticed her head angled at an uncomfortable position and softly readjusted her so she’d be leaning on his shoulder. the girl smiled in her sleep and leant in closer to iwaizumi’s surprise as he watched over her.
“you really are something else.”

how BiNu confessed
Hello! I’m back~ It’s exam season but here I am. I hope you guys like it! Don’t be shy and request anything if you would like.
Theme: Fluff
Eunwoo
hey, I’m sorry I’m busy today! Just reminding you I love you
A smile painted your face as you sent a reply back to your boyfriend, Eunwoo. You were a little sad that Eunwoo had a schedule today but it is what it is right? It’s his job after all. Although you missed seeing him, he always made an effort to video call every night and occasionally would drop by your apartment at night before heading back to the dorms. He always tried his best and for that you loved him dearly.
That’s alright! I’ll enjoy this nice day for the both of us~ Keep working hard! I love you
After sending your message, you were immediately met with a cute emoticon. Giggling like a 5 year old, you sent one back. Truthfully everyday seemed like a dream. It was such a blessing you met Eunwoo and the fact you were in a relationship with him still felt surreal. He was such a caring and selfless man, always considerate and hard working. When you first met him, it was a little hard to believe how polite and caring of a human being he was. You didn’t know if he acted this way because he had an image to up hold or not. But your doubt was eventually proven wrong after some drinks and a very real and raw conversation.
You still remember the smell and sounds of the tent bar. The loud business men coming to drink after a long day of work, the group college students ignoring their final assignments and the smell of soju. Eunwoo and you weren’t very close friends back then and it was certainly awkward when your mutual friend didn’t show up. However 3 bottles of soju seemed to do the trick and helped you both let loose and start talking about your dreams and insecurities. It was refreshing getting to know Eunwoo and his mind. At the moment you really admired him as a person, how hard working he was and how considerate he was. You felt horrible for misjudging him and doubting him. It was probably then when your feelings for him started.
It took eight more months for anything to actually start. You tried your hardest to stop your feelings for him as you didn’t want them ruining your friendship. Anyway, how could he feel the same way about you anyway? That’s why you were taken aback when you were both resting on the couch on your apartment and he suddenly became agitated. You had invited some friends over just to have a little breather and you were all playing charades.
At first you thought he was just frustrated because his team couldn’t play for shit and yours won as the game ended with 9-5. Rocky had you on his back as you both celebrated your win with your two other teammates. You were laughing while holding Rocky tightly so you wouldn’t fall as he began dancing when you felt an icy stare coming from somewhere. Your eyes met Eunwoo’s and you were slightly taken aback by the glare he held on his face. Confused, you watch him flee to the kitchen. You got off Rocky as gave another ‘whoop’ before making a beeline to the kitchen.
“Look, if I’ve done anything wrong, let me know. I can’t read your mind and glaring won’t help either ok?” You spoke bluntly as you found it rare that he would be this childish.
“I just- I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to glare.” He said as he brushed his hair back and swallowing a lump in his throat.
“Well I can still see your not in a very good mood. Do you want to step out and talk about it?” You offered with a smile while taking his hand and staring into his eyes. You swear you melted right then and there. He seemed to think about it before nodding and letting you lead the way to the door.
“Damn it, it’s cold” you muttered to yourself as you left the warmth of your apartment. You felt a pair of arms wrap around you and suddenly it felt like you were in a sauna. Trying to get rid of the blush on your cheeks, you wriggle out of his embrace.
“Don’t worry, I’ll survive. Now tell me what’s been plaguing your mind.”  You said turning around, trying to not be flustered. Although you felt safe in his arms; as if you belonged, you didn’t want to give yourself false hope. To him it might just be an innocent hug but it sent butterflies to your stomach.
“I have feelings for someone and I don’t think they’ll return them.” He said as he stepped back and met your eyes. You felt your stomach drop. Ignoring the slight pain in your chest, you turn to look at him as he stares back at you.
“Ahh, I see. How would you know if you haven’t heard that person’s answer? There’s a 50% chance they’ll return them or not. But seeing as to how you act like the perfect gentleman, the chances are probably higher.” You smiled before looking away, trying to not let him see the slight pain in your face.
“Is that so?” He said as he moved to were your eyes were looking off to and waited until your eyes met his. “What are the chances of you returning my feelings?”
“What?” Honestly, you were so confused. What was happening? Is what you were thinking happening? He smiled before holding your hand in his.
“I like you Y/N” A blush seem to creep on both of your faces. Unable to meet his gaze, you nod.
“Me too” You felt time stop as he smiled at you and pulled you into a tight embrace against his chest.
“Thank god.” He sighed in relief before planting a light peck on your lips.
Tumblr media
Moonbin
“You made all this?” Moonbin said with excitement and disbelief as he stared at the six lunch boxes in front of him; one for each member of Astro. “Thank you so much!” And with that, you were engulfed into a big bear hug.
You dramatically gasp for breath before he pulls away and places a kiss on your forehead. Smiling up at the man, you realise how awfully tired he looked. A pout soon graced your face, Moonbin noticing immediately. He stroked you hair and put his chin on your head, pulling you into a gentle and warm hug.
“I’m alright. I have your food to energise me through the day! Don’t worry about me.” He said gently.
“I know I shouldn’t worry, I just wish you could have a day off and sleep like sleeping beauty. To rest properly.” You mumbled into his shirt. You feel him kiss you head before pulling away and looking into your eyes.
“My day off’s on Sunday, I’ll make sure to sleep like the dead.” He laughed before turning to the door “I’m super late! I’ll text you when I get there and when I should be home. I love you~” And with a kiss goodbye, he was out the door.
Watching him leave in a rush always made you laugh, his poor time management was always the product of him sleeping in. It always worried you how he’d come home late and leave early for his schedules. He practiced like crazy as well. It also reminded you of when you first met.
Your friend wanted to introduce you to a dancer as you expressed an interest in it. You were hesitant, as your interest was only a passing comment and not meant to be taken seriously, however you also suspected this was your friend’s way of setting you up with someone. They had been constantly asking you if you were seeing anyone for the past year. You were too busy with your part time job and being a full time student in culinary school. With some persuasion, you finally went with your friend to meet this man. Honestly you kind of judged Moonbin when he was 20 minutes late. You were thinking about how you could have been studying for an upcoming exam and here you were, waiting for some dude. However after talking to man, you seemed to become smitten with him. He was funny and gentle but was also ready to fight with anyone who thought cats were annoying.
As cheesy as it is to say, time seemed to stop. You didn’t really pay mind to your friend leaving you two alone and you also didn’t realise the sun was already beginning to set. You realised that this man was a breath of fresh air to you so when he asked for you number as you were both about to part ways, you absolutely did not hesitate.
Your relationship was little complicated for the next 4 months. It was like you were a couple but at the same time you weren’t official. Both of you would go on dates, talk late at night and would have movie nights in your apartment. You both knew that each other was interested but neither had actually spoken about it. It was a strange and weird situation to be in.
At first it made you heart flutter every time your hands would brush past each others or when your faces would be so close to a kiss. But soon you grew a little tired of it. Moonbin seemed to be the person you could count on whenever you wanted to rant about school or your co workers and would always taste you dishes with very honest feedback, however you were tired of this wishy washy relationship you both had. As much as you knew that Moonbin was a kind and caring man, you insecurities started to overtake your mind. You often wondered if he was like this another girl, he was an awfully handsome and talented man so who wouldn’t want to have him?
You began to think he only saw you as some fun on the side.
Your chain of thought was disrupted when you heard a knock at your door. Ah, that’s right, Moonbin said he was coming over after recording. Opening the door, you were greeted with a smile that could easily turn you into a puddle. He had said he couldn’t stay long as he needed to back at the dorms before 10pm. A little confused as to why he would bother coming over if he needed to leave in 45 minutes, you followed him into the apartment.
“Then why are you coming to visit then silly?” You said in a playful tone as you offered him some gimbap you made. You were shocked when he rejected them. What as going on? Moonbin rejecting food? And then it dawned on you. He was probably gonna tell you that he wasn’t interested and only saw you as friend.
“I’m sorry I should have done this earlier” You braced yourself for the rejection as your hands found the hem of you shirt and played around with it. He looked into you eyes with an intensity you had never seen before and it made you nervous. As you felt some tear beginning to form, you look away from his gaze.
“I like you. Like a lot. I’m sorry for not telling you early enough. I was just shy and didn’t know if you would like me back.” what? You looked back at him in confusion. Your mind went blank and you were left to just stare, no words seeming to form.
When you didn’t reply back, his head hung down for little bit before he looked back up at you with a bittersweet smile. “It’s ok, you don’t have to say anything. I just wanted to confess my feelings.” As he was about to reach for the door handle, you snapped out of your trance and rushed to stop him.
He was caught by surprise when he left your arms embrace him from the back. You didn’t trust yourself to talk to him with his eyes on you so you mumbled it into his back. “I like you too. I like so much. I didn’t know if you actually liked me or if you were just having some fun” He quickly turned around to your words and cupped your face.
“Of course I like you. How could I not?” Moonbin smiled as he kissed your forehead and then your lips.

Literally every piece I write with Eli and Ev always ends up being 2000 words damn
Here’s smth I started a little while back but only just now finished
CW: Absent/Neglectful parent, self loathing and self deprecating thoughts, brief mention of death and self harm, minor character (17 years old)
***
It was 7:38 p.m. Everett sat there staring at the time on his phone, his leg bouncing anxiously. He knew that Eli got out of school at 4:00. He knew he was usually home by 4:45, closer to 5:00 p.m. if he stopped at the store down the street. He was never home later than 5:30, not without calling or texting anyway, but it was now 7:40 p.m. and he wasn’t home and Everett hadn’t heard from him and he didn’t know why.
He tried calling him again, for the fifth time now, and he listened to the dial tone, his heart sinking when it went to his voicemail again. He instantly sent him another text, all of them unread and unresponded to as of right now. So far he’d gone over every possible terrible situation at least twice, worried he’d been hurt, kidnapped, worried he’d run away or worried that he’d hurt himself. It didn’t matter how far fetched the conclusion was, it all sounded horribly probable to him right now.
“You know, you used to do the same thing when you were his age.” Their mom said casually, grabbing her jacket from the hook near the front door. “He’ll probably be back in the morning, just give him some time.”
“But he’s never done this.” He said, trying to keep the agitation out of his voice. He knew she wasn’t leaving to go look for him, the fact she wasn’t anywhere near worried like he was got on his nerves. “He- He should’ve at least called or just, something if he was okay!”
“I’m sure he’s fine.” She tried to assure him, but it didn’t really mean much coming from her. “I’ll be back later, okay?” She told him, and though he knew it was rude he chose to ignore her, worried he’d snap if he tried to respond right now. The last thing he needed while his brother was missing was to have their mom upset too, that sounded like a complete nightmare. He listened to the door shut as she finally left, sitting there as silence settled over the apartment. He considered going out to look for him himself but he wanted to be there if he got back, he needed to make sure he was okay.
With nothing left to do but wait, he took a deep breath, and he tried to call his brother again.
***
In the back of his mind, he knew he was being overdramatic. He kept telling himself that anyway as he sat on the park bench, his knees pulled up to his chest. He could hear his phone vibrating in his backpack beside him but he didn’t bother to try and answer it. He knew it was Everett, and though ignoring him just made him feel even more guilty, he couldn’t bring himself to even try to respond to him. He worried that if he tried, he’d just break down crying.
I could just… not go home at all, He thought, only to immediately argue with himself, It’s not that fucking bad, get over it and just go home.
He’d been having that argument with himself all day, every small thing piling up. It had been a hard week, he’d felt worse than usual, everything had been harder than usual, each day he was receiving more and more assignments with failing or barely passing grades. It wasn’t like him, he knew that, and each one felt like a knife in his heart, each failure weighing on him heavily.
Stupid stupid stupid- can’t do one fucking thing right
He buried his head in his arms, fighting back tears. A small part of him knew he was being unreasonable, just an overemotional stupid brat, but a bigger part of him was hanging onto the idea that his supposed intelligence was all he had- any mistake would be too big, any mistake would ruin his already miserable life, and one mistake after another was a death sentence.
He knew he should go home. He knew that when he got home, Everett would comfort him, he’d assure him that everything was okay, he’d assure him that this wasn’t the end of the world and that in the long run, it really didn’t matter. He didn’t want to go home. He knew he was overreacting and he was so scared that Everett would be angry if he knew what stupid thing Elias was so upset over- even more scared that their mom would be angry at him for disappearing. The more he thought about it the worse he felt, the more he didn’t want to leave from that spot, so he didn’t.
He sat there in the dark, in the cold, hugging his knees close to his chest and listening to his phone buzz.
He should’ve gone home.
***
Eli hadn’t realized how much time had passed. He’d never been great at keeping track of time, he knew it was late but he didn’t realize how late. He refused to check his phone as he finally wandered home, he didn’t want to see just how many missed calls and messages there were. He already felt sick when he got to the apartment complex, even worse as he climbed the stairs to the second floor. He found himself desperately hoping that Everett and their mom were asleep already, that they’d gotten sick of waiting for him and just stopped caring. He’d never wanted so badly to be forgotten.
He knew he was fucked when he found the door already unlocked, they always made sure the door was locked when they went to bed. He pushed the door open slowly, trying to be as quiet as possible but it creaked as always, the lights were on so he already knew he was caught. He hadn’t even gotten the door shut before Everett was rushing out of the living room, and Eli realized that in seventeen years, he’d never seen his brother mad at him.
“Where the fuck have you been?!” He snapped, and instinctively Elias pressed his back against the door, knowing he couldn’t get back to their room without getting past him.
“Just… out…” He murmured, his eyes glued to the floor, even as Everett approached him. He wondered if he’d be able to get the door open enough to get out and run- he’d never wanted to run from his brother before. He swore his heart stopped when Everett suddenly grabbed him by the shoulders, not roughly but enough to startle him, finally forcing him to meet his eye.
“I’ve been calling you all fucking night! Do you even know how long you’ve been gone?! It’s fucking midnight Elias, where the fuck were you?!” He all but shouted at him. Elias tried to speak, he opened his mouth but no words came out, only a soft whimper. “I thought you were hurt or missing or fucking dead, I was so fucking worried about you, you can’t just disappear like that!” He said seriously, and Eli finally broke down in tears.
“I-I’m sorry- I’m sorry…” He whimpered, he was shaking as tears streamed down his face. This seemed to finally break Everett, he pulled him into a rib crushing hug, holding him as if his life depended on it.
“Please, don’t scare me like that again…” He said, finally calming down himself. He pulled back enough that he could look at him, and Eli could see now he wasn’t really angry, he was scared, and that just made him feel worse.
“I-I’m sorry… I didn’t-I didn’t mean to I j-just…” He let Everett lead him into the living room, sliding his backpack off his shoulder before they collapsed onto the couch, Everett holding him close. “I didn’t… didn’t want to come back… thought about not coming back at all…” He murmured.
“What?” Everett pulled back just a bit, staring at him with wide eyes.
“I thought-thought about leaving… I don’t know where to, I wasn’t thinking clearly I j-just… wanted to leave…”
“Eli, why…?” He asked softly.
“I-I don’t- I don’t know, I-I felt like I sh-shouldn’t, like I-I… didn’t deserve to…” It didn’t make sense to him until he said it out loud, but he realized that’s what it was. He failed the only thing he was good at, he was going to lose the one redeeming quality he felt he had, and somehow to him, that meant he didn’t deserve to go home, it was the only thing he had that he could deprive himself of. Coming to terms with it just made him more upset, he let out a sob as he clung to Everett.
“I don’t know what happened, or why you felt that way, but you can always come home…” He told him, rubbing his back as he cried. “I’ll always be here for you kid, you know that…”
“I’m sorry…” He whimpered. “I-I was being stupid, a stupid stupid brat…”
“Don’t say that, you’re not stupid and you’re not a brat.” He told him. “I don’t want you scaring me like that again though, please, at least tell me you’re okay if you’re going to stay out that long…” He said, and Elias nodded, still crying as he held on to him. He was starting to feel better though, safe and comforted with his brother now, even if he had scared him when he first got home. He was so comfortable with him he didn’t even ask about their mom, if she was worried, if she even knew. A part of him would feel bad for worrying her, but a bigger part hoped she was worried, hope that she felt something over himself being missing. He didn’t ask though, he was content with Everett, who held him close until he finally exhausted himself, crying himself to sleep.
***
Everett ended up falling asleep on the couch with Eli, not ready to let him go right away. He’d been terrified while he was gone, even more scared after what he’d told him. He knew despite his best efforts, Elias wasn’t happy, and he couldn’t blame him for that. Still, the thought of losing him, the thought of him running away was too much for him, and the fact he felt he didn’t deserve to come home was horrifying. He held him close as though he’d run away when he let go, and he eventually fell asleep with him.
He was woken up only a couple hours later when the front door opened, though Eli seemed to sleep through it. He could hear their mom coming into the apartment, closing the door and locking it before passing through the living room, stopping to see them as Everett looked up at her.
“You baby him too much, you know that?” She sighed, looking almost disappointed. She’d been saying that since Eli was born though, he didn’t think too much of it.
“No I don’t… he had a rough night, he needed this…” He said, gently rubbing his back as he spoke, and she just rolled her eyes.
“I told you he’d come back though, I’m sure he’s fine.” She said dismissively, reaching up and affectionately ruffling his hair. “I’ll see you two in the morning, okay?” She said, and he nodded as she walked off down the hall, back to her room. He waited until he heard the door close to move, getting up and picking up Elias, carrying him back to their room, the same way he would when he was a little kid who’d fallen asleep watching tv. Sometimes he still felt like he was a little kid despite the fact he was quickly getting closer and closer to being an adult. He knew he was intelligent and capable of taking care of himself, but he still wanted to take care of him, he just wanted to keep him safe.
He laid him down on his bed, taking the time to take his shoes off for him before pulling the blankets up over him. Almost immediately he shifted in his sleep, easily finding and grabbing ahold of his stuffed shark. Now that he was in bed Everett felt like he could finally relax, going and collapsing into his own bed, burying his face in his pillow.
He hated to know that Eli was suffering, hated even more that he didn’t know how to help. There were some things he couldn’t fix, he knew that, and this was certainly more than he knew what to do with. He knew that he could be there for him though, he could comfort him, and he’d do anything and everything he could to keep him safe, because even the thought of losing him brought back all the fear and nausea he’d been feeling all night.

Set Up
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Words: ~3.3k
Summary: In which the Avengers are relentless in their attempts to get you and Steve together. If this means going great lengths such as sending you off on a mission-disguised romantic getaway to make you realize your feelings for one another, they’ll seize the chance at the very moment it’s presented to them.
Warnings: None. Just tooth-rotting fluff bc I’ve really been needing it ahaha
A/N: Set in an AU 2017 timeline in which they reunite a year after the whole Accords situation so that everyone’s happy :)
Tumblr media
"Rogers. Parasite. Stop watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and get up, you need to get to the meeting room ASAP," Tony stated.
"Says the one who leeches off my granola bar supply," you grumbled as you shot him a death glare. "You've been doing this to me since I was a toddler. A helpless, two-year old against a 16 year-old demon always hungry for everyone's food but his own."
"Still holding the Full House cereal incident against me? Geez, woman, do you ever release your grudges against anyone," he sighed, rolling his eyes. "Now come on, let's go."
Exchanging a confused look with Steve, you stood up and followed Tony down the hallway to the meeting room, where Fury was with the rest of the team, waiting.
"Captain Rogers, Agent Y/N," Fury nodded curtly. "I presume you know what's going on?"
"No, sir."
"I need you two to track down a group of mercenaries in downtown Tokyo. You'll be flown out commercially so you can maintain a low profile. The whole process should take no longer than ten days," he explained as Natasha handed him the printed out flight details. "Further information will be given to you upon arrival."
"If it's just the two of us, then why is everyone here?" you pointed out.
"Barton and Maximoff will be checking in with you regularly; and if backup is necessary, I will fly one of them out to meet you. If you don't have any more questions, this meeting is now dismissed. You'll be departing late tonight so if I were you, I'd get to packing right about now."
...
Soon enough you were all packed and ready to go. Because you were too lazy to reach back into your suitcase and grab a sweatshirt, you took Steve's Dodgers hoodie and slipped it on, along with a pair of your favorite sweatpants.
"See you in ten days, okay?" Natasha pulled you in for a tight hug. "Make sure to keep Rogers company, it's a long flight. This is also the perfect opportunity to grow closer...literally."
"Oh shut up, Nat," you scoffed. "We're not...you know."
"Sure you aren't."
"Tony, why don't you get some good rest for once," you turned to your brother, "alright?"
"As long as you admit you're in love with Capsicle," he whispered into your ear.
"I can't admit what's not true."
"Yeah yeah, I can't understand bullshit."
"Tony."
"Y/N," he mocked. "Anyway. Have a safe trip, don't die, yada yada yada."
"Yeah yeah, got it."
A few more rounds of goodbyes later, you and Steve were in the elevator with your luggage, heading down to where Phil was waiting to drive you to the airport.
Your flight was scheduled to take off at 1:45 in the morning, and it was close to 11 p.m when you arrived.
"Your tickets, please," the lady asked as you were about to board the plane. You took them out from your purse and handed them over to her. "Thank you."
"How long's the flight again?"
"Uh...about 14 hours. Pretty long," you replied, as you walked down the aisles, looking at the overhead letters for your seat. "24A, 24B...there we go. Wait, have you been to Japan before?"
"No, I haven't."
"You're gonna love it. They have the best, I tell you, best ramen, and curry, hands down. When Nat, Wanda, and I went on our girls' vacation last spring we wouldn't stop eating for two days straight. I know we're tracking down cold-blooded killers and all, but, it won't hurt to let loose a little, you know?"
"Yeah, definitely," Steve couldn't help but smile at how happy you looked while speaking. "You gotta be our tour guide. I'm trusting you'll lead us to the best ramen hotspots?"
"Oh yeah, I will."
After putting your things into the overhead bins, you settled into your seats. The armrest between you could be lifted convert the seats into a double bed, you quickly found out.
Shortly after taking off you felt yourself grow rather tired. Noticing your sleepiness, Steve raised the armrest and pressed the button to make the seats recline backwards, your head immediately falling against his broad chest. He smiled again, brushing stray hairs away from your forehead before pulling the blanket over your bodies and falling asleep as well.
Little did either one of you know, you were being sent off to Japan for a completely different reason that had absolutely nothing to deal with tracking down mercenaries.
...
The smell of food wakes you up several hours later. You stretched your arms up and ran a hand through your hair as you sat up, adjusting your neck pillow.
"Hey uh, how long were we out for?" you asked, voice still thick with sleep. Steve was already awake, in the middle of watching a movie on his TV.
"4 hours. You knocked out for 5. It's time for lunch...or dinner?"
You tapped your screen a few times to pull up the map of your flight's route. "Right now it's 7:30 p.m. in Tokyo. We're arriving at 4:45 in the morning, so I'd say dinner."
"You sleep okay?"
"Hm? Yeah," you yawned, rubbing your eyes and adjusting the sleeves of Steve's hoodie. "You make a good pillow."
"No problem," he chuckled. You then turned to the flight attendant, who handed you your meals.
"Fancy," you nodded in approval as you passed Steve's tray over to him. "First class sure has its perks...oh yes, miso soup."
You binged your way through several episodes of Pretty Little Liars, I Love Lucy, and Star Wars: A New Hope together. Afterwards, you purchased Wi-Fi so you could update the team on your status.
CHATROOM - AVENGERS ASSEMBLE
Natasha: Morning, lovebirds. You guys in the air already?
You: Yeah, we're eating dinner right now. What time is it back home?
Tony: 6:45 a.m. Pulled an all-nighter binge-watching The Office.
Bucky: Totally worth losing an entire night's worth of good sleep.
Y/N: But I still don't get why we couldn't take the Quinjet?
Steve: ^
Rhodey: Do we tell them now, or wait until they land in Haneda?
Wanda: I'd say now.
Pietro: NO NO NO MAKE IT A SURPRISE
Steve: ...What's going on?
Tony: There's no mission.
Y/N: Wait, what? Then what are we going to Tokyo for?
Tony: I purchased a romantic ten-day vacation package so that you two will hopefully realize your feelings for each other along the way. Thank me later.
Y/N: SCREW YOU
Tony: Enjoy eating all the ramen you want!
Natasha: We're so good at matchmaking.
Thor: May I suggest a virtual high-five?
Peter: VIRTUAL HIGH-FIVE :))
Thor: :))
Y/N has left the chat.
Steve has left the chat.
Tony: They're gonna thank me when they see the penthouse I bought.
Tony has left the chat.
"Well, guess we're going on vacation. At least there's more opportunities to eating good food," Steve shrugged.
"Yup." You felt your heartbeat pick up speed at the thought of being alone with him, for ten days, in a country that was considered both futuristic and romantic at the same time. "Plenty of time to eat ramen and sushi."
Deep down, he was glad that there wasn't any mission. And so were you.
You took an hour-long catnap before waking up again and playing a few rounds of Uno with him, then stayed up for the rest of the flight. You both knew you'd regret doing so because of the 13-hour time difference between NYC and Tokyo, but you were too excited to care at that moment.
You were dazed and still slightly tired when you disembarked the aircraft, so you didn't have any energy to question how you and Steve ended up with your fingers intertwined. Besides, you liked the way it felt.
At close to 5 in the morning, Haneda International was relatively quiet and not too busy, so immigration didn't take long. You didn't have to worry about being bombarded by fans, aside from the occasional foreign fan recognizing you two and asking for a quick autograph or picture.
Since you wanted to explore the airport a bit before taking the train downtown, you looked around at the various shops.
Being a former spy alongside Natasha before joining the Avengers, you were fluent in multiple languages, including Japanese, Russian, French, Spanish, and German. And despite having developed the habit of always preparing for what was to come, you were completely shocked hearing a perfect Japanese sentence roll out of Steve's mouth as he spoke to the cashier.
You practically swooned at how smooth his voice sounded.
"Kore wa ikuradesu ka?" He gestured to one of the kokeshi dolls on display dressed in a sapphire colored kimono with cherry blossom embroidery. (How much is this?)
"3500 yen," the lady replied, "Hatsubai-chū, 3000. Kōnyū shimasu ka?" (On sale, 3000. Would you like to buy it?)
"Hai, kōnyū shimasu." (Yes, I'd like to buy it.)
"Kanojo no tame ni?" (For her?)
"Hai." (Yes.)
She nodded, and Steve handed over several folded bills from his wallet after she finished bagging the item.
"Arigato, gokigen'yō," he thanked her. (Thank you, have a nice day)
"Anata modesu," she smiled warmly. (You too)
"Holy crap, you didn't tell me you were fluent in Japanese, Rogers," you gaped as you walked out of the store together. "When did you have the time to learn it?"
"Back during the Pearl Harbor bombing, Buck and I were sent off with the 107th to Hawaii. Figured it'd be useful if we learned a few phrases."
"Few?" you raised an eyebrow at him. "What you just did back there, that was not just a few phrases! That was fluency!"
"What can I say, I pick up on language quickly," he grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. He then handed you the bag with the doll inside. "Here, for you."
"You didn't have to—"
"Consider it my thank-you in advance for taking me to a good eatery," Steve explained.
After grabbing a quick breakfast of coffee and pastries, you took the elevator down to the train station.
You let out a sigh as you sat down, the cool air inside the train loosening the tension in your shoulders a bit. A short fifteen minutes later and you were back in one of your favorite cities in the world.
Steve took a picture of you as you were distracted from looking all around at the skyscrapers and people milling around, face lit up by all the bright and colorful signs, sending it to the chat.
Steve: Just arrived downtown. Got out of the airport half an hour ago.
Tony: Honeymooning Avengers, how cute
Sam: That's hot.
Steve: What time is it over there?
Wanda: We just finished eating lunch. You?
Steve: 7. Going to check into the penthouse. Talk to you guys later.
Wanda: Alright.
Sam: Have fun, lovebirdssssss
Steve has left the chat.
"So," he breathed out as he slipped his hand back into yours and you exited the station, "you ready to go check out where we're staying?"
"Yeah, definitely. You wanna take the subway again, or a taxi?"
"Subway. Actually..taxi. You sound nice when you speak in a foreign language."
"That's the only reason why you want to take a taxi?"
"Yeah, obviously," you scoffed. "I mean, why else?"
"Alright, if you insist," the super-soldier laughed.
A few minutes later, you'd called a taxi over and climbed into the backseat, strapping your seatbelts on.
"Ohayögozaimasu," (Good morning) the man greeted. "Ogenkidesuka?" (How are you) "Īdesu, anata wa?" Steve replied. (Good, and you?)
"Watashi mo jōzudesu. Doko ni ikitai?" (I am good, too. Where would you like to go?)
You looked at your phone, reading out the address of Tony's penthouse to the driver.
A few minutes passed in silence before he spoke up again. "Watashia wa anata-tachi o shitte imasu. Anata wa abenjãzudesu," the driver smiled, glancing at you two from the rearview mirror. (I know you two. You're the Avengers)
"Watashitachidesu," he returned his friendly grin. (We are!)
"Tōkyō ni kuru kikkake wa nanidesu ka?" (What made you come to Tokyo?)
"Chōdo kyūka no tame." (Just for vacation.)
"Nokori no taizai o o tanoshimi kudasai," he said as you were getting out of the car after paying. "Sayonara."
"Sayonara," you and Steve responded before closing the car door behind you.
"Wow," your jaw dropped as you took the elevator up, arriving at the top floor. "Tony actually bought...this...place?"
"Apparently," Steve shrugged, "we could come back and forth between here and the compound as often as we wanted."
The penthouse had a nice, dark aesthetic feel to it, with giant panoramic views of the entirety of Tokyo and modern furniture and spots of dimmed white lights in the ceiling to give off a relaxed vibe.
After unloading your things, you sat down at the giant couch together and decided to plan out the rest of your day.
"When CoCo Curry opens at 11, we can go eat there," you explained as you typed up the plan in a new note. "Tony also snagged us tickets to Tokyo Tower at 3 p.m, so we have a few hours to spare after lunch."
"We can explore the gardens,"  he suggested. "I know you love doing that. There's a botanical garden in Shinjuku we can go to."
"Oh, that one! I didn't have the chance to go last time, so that's perfect," you added 'Shinjuku Gardens' to your list.
Soon enough you had your entire day planned out, and were ready to head out once again.
CoCo Curry was a quaint, little restaurant that hit you with a wave of tantalizing scents as soon as you walked through the doors and sat down at the bar-style seating area where you could watch the chefs cook your food.
"Gonichiwa," you greeted the chef standing behind the counter.
"Gonichiwa," he smiled back. He asked for your orders, and since Steve wasn't sure what to get you had two orders of your favorite dish.
Besides another couple sitting a few seats away, the restaurant was empty so you got your food in under ten minutes. The steaming hot plates of curry rice were set in front of you, and you felt your mouth water as you inhaled the rich aroma.
"This is so good," Steve spoke in between bites. "I'm literally in love."
"Told you I knew my stuff."
You eventually finished eating, and after getting into a small argument with Steve over who would pay (He ended up winning). "It's payback for ordering me good eats," he explained.
"You said that when you bought me the kokeshi doll," you pointed out.
"Still."
This time you decided to go by foot instead of taking the taxi, as the gardens were only a half-hour or so walk from where you were.
"Right in the middle of cherry blossom season," you sighed as the sweet smell of cherries drifted through the air. "Perfect timing."
You walked around the entire place, stopping every so often to admire the various colorful plants or look up at the pastel pink cherry blossom trees, gravel crunching underfoot with each step you took.
The mid-April breeze lightly fanned your hair around your shoulders. Birds chirped out a delightful melody, flying around the cornflower-blue sky. It wasn't too hot or too cold, and that was one of the many things you loved about visiting Asia during the springtime; the weather was bearable, compared to New York City's below-freezing temperatures in winter. You vividly remembered visiting the botanical gardens in upstate New York on a school trip once, and from then on you'd grown attached.
In the centre of the garden was a large lake with flowering lily pads and on the other side of the bank stood a quaint little temple, with a wooden bridge across the middle so visitors could cross over and look at the koi below.
"It's beautiful here," Steve commented as you made your way down the sidewalk, "I wish they had places like this back home."
"Yeah it is, isn't it," you breathed out, unable to tear your eyes away from the lovely sights. "I could do this all day."
"Hey, that's my line," he joked. You chuckled quietly, slipping your hand into his. He laced your fingers together in response, and you felt the butterflies flutter around in your stomach again the longer he held on, and those butterflies turned into hummingbirds as you looked up to meet his piercing gaze.
You're not sure how long you stay like that, gazing into each others' eyes, but it's only when a little girl stops and asks to take a picture that you pull away.
"Captain America and Agent Y/N!" Judging by her looks, she seemed like she came from the US as well. "Can I get a picture with you guys?"
"Of course, sweetie," you smiled. You brushed off the weird feeling you got when your skin made contact with Steve's, and gestured for her to come closer.
Steve scooped the girl up into his arms as she held your hand, and the mother snapped a few quick pictures before he let her back down.
"Thank you!" she exclaimed before skipping away.
At 2:20 you decided to leave and head out to the Tokyo Tower early so you would be avoiding any possible long lines. You were up at the observation deck within twenty minutes.
"This is just....wow," you breathed out, in awe of the breathtaking view you got as you stared out the panoramic windows, the reflective walls casting thin rays of light onto your faces.
If you thought the view from your penthouse was nice, this was a hundred times better. You had almost nothing preventing you from being able to see the entire city in all directions. The sun was hanging high in the sky, the skyscrapers piercing the horizon like pins and needles.
Steve couldn't help but let his gaze linger on you, the way your face brightened up at the sight of Tokyo's stunning view, the way you laughed and smiled more than you ever did back home. It was a rare sight, and he wished he could see you in this state more often. Oh, the things he'd do to keep hearing your musical laugh and million-dollar smile.
...
The next day was jam-packed with activities. You took a two hour train ride down south to Osaka, exploring the cup noodles museum, shopping downtown in Dotonbori, and stuffing yourself with delicious pastries along the way. Before you headed back, you decided to stock up on groceries at the local market.
You fell asleep almost as soon as your head hit the pillow that night, waking up to somehow finding yourself in Steve’s arms. You both woke up at the same time, confused as to how you had gotten yourselves into this position, but were too embarrassed and tired to ask.
This time, you decided to stay within Tokyo, immersing yourselves in going to as many districts as you could and doing as much as possible.
After a long day exploring the city, you were rather exhausted. With a cup of freshly brewed matcha in hand, you stayed quiet for a while as you soaked in the scenery, watching the city come alive late at night.
When Steve woke up from his nap a few hours later, he found you standing by the window. Smiling to himself, he got up, approaching you and wrapping his arms around your waist from behind, resting his chin atop your head.
"Hi," you greeted, setting your mug down on the coffee table besides you.
"Hey," he murmured into your ear. You closed your eyes and hummed quietly in response, letting your bodies rock back and forth to the rhythm of your steady heartbeats together.
"Watashi wa, anata o aishiteimasu," (I love you.)
A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. "Watashi mo anata o aishitemasu, Cap." (I love you too, Cap.)
You stepped away so you could turn around to face him, and he pulled you back towards him and pressed his lips to yours.
He couldn't help but smile into the kiss, pulling you closer against him.

·41/45· Intoxicated - Prompt Game -
Tumblr media
Title : Intoxicated Pairing : Park Jinyoung x Fem!reader Genre : Angst, Fluff, romance Words : 2060 Summary : Breaking up with Jinyoung was already complicated, yet he came, drunk and desperate, at 4 in the morning. Prompts : N° 41 : “Do you remember our first kiss?” N° 45 : “I don’t want you to stop.”
Prompt Game - Masterlist -
Intoxicated
Your sofa is not comfortable. You never noticed how hard it feels against your back as you try to find a better position while watching questionable videos at 4 in the morning.
It doesn’t matter, rest is for people who can turn shut their brain off. You can’t. It’s been a month. A whole thirty-one days of going back to a life made of instant noodles and drooling on your favourite fluffy pillow.
Today is Friday and after numerous rejections, your friends gave up and stopped forcing you to join them into some fancy bar. It doesn’t feel right to be partying like this, especially when you feel like rolling yourself into your blanket like a burrito.
Which is already done.
It’s not like you’re depressed; you’re the one who broke up with your boyfriend because of event you were not sure you could get out of.
Jinyoung is a man of high standards. He was raised in a wealthy family where everyone has their own role and future traced from the crib. He followed his parents’ choices without rebelling once.
Except one time, two months ago.
You had been dating for almost a year when his parents found him a spouse. She was the daughter of a man everyone wanted on their side and his family couldn’t say no when the promise of a profitable alliance appeared in their household.
Only then you saw how unflappable Jinyoung could be. He would reject day after day, not bothered when his parents used the word disown as a weapon. Jinyoung didn’t even flinch and was ready to pack and move in with you.
Poor boy would hate spending all his evenings on your sofa.
It became too big for you to handle. There was nothing you could do except break up with him so before he could run away from his luxury you left, lying about not loving him, using the word mistake like it meant nothing.
Jinyoung had told you though. Trust me, he always said.
There was nothing to trust. Jinyoung would have never been able to find another job if these two companies were to team against him. It is true that he is a simple man, but you couldn’t live with the idea of being what destroyed his life.
So you walked away, isolating yourself and ruining your health at work. It’s been a month and you feel as empty, the feeling of being the one responsible for your own misery distilling hate into your whole existence.
There is no turning back now. Jinyoung must get married and become what he is destined to be.
You’re clicking on this documentary about salmon trout and their reproduction cycle when heavy knocking on your door startles you.
Your neighbours are probably going to complain about non-existent noises because that’s what they do.
You check your pyjamas - shrugging when you notice a stain a ketchup from your precious fries session.
But it’s not the old neighbour you find behind the door.
“You opened the door…” Jinyoung’s smug smile makes you take a step back. He is leaning against the doorway, head restless. “I thought you wouldn’t…”
“What are you doing here? Why are you drunk?” You inquire before checking the hall.
Jinyoung laughs, his head raising in evident distress. “I am not drunk! Come on!” His voice dies when you pull on his arm to force him inside.
Damn him for showing up completely drunk.
“Oh so I can come in” Jinyoung mumbles, letting his plastic bag fall on the floor with a loud thud before attempting to untie his shoes.
“It’s just until you sober up.” You scold, blaming your soft side for giving in so quickly. You didn’t have a choice; your building is filled with people who abuse the police’s phone number daily.
Jinyoung snorts, grabbing his bag again and aiming for your sofa where he lets himself fall. “I brought wine. You love wine.” His voice becomes sad as unwraps the bottle.
You sigh, reaching his side and taking the bottle. “Thank you. Now rest and leave when you feel better. You know where everything is.”
It’s too much work. Dealing with a drunk Jinyoung is usually funny; he becomes a mess of clumsy and cute and oh god he becomes so luscious as soon as music starts.
“I didn’t come all the way here to sleep on a sofa!” He pouts, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Why did you come then?” You turn around to put the bottle on the dining table before gasping. “Holy shit Jinyoung, this is a Domaine de la Romanée Conti! Take it with you, it’s expensive!”
Jinyoung snickers, his lazy hand brushing your words off. “Do I look like I care about this…”
“Listen,” You walk back to the sofa, stopping when Jinyoung leans over his knees to bury his head into his hands. “I’ll put the bottle back into the bag. Rest for now and you can leave whenever you want. “
“How is it so easy for you?” His question breaks you out of your monologue. “How is it so easy to speak like this?”
“Jinyoung, I don’t think it’s a good-”
“A good idea?” He asks, raising his head and revealing moist eyes. “All of this was a very bad idea, right? Because it was a mistake?” His head seems clearer suddenly. “Do you even think I believed you for one second?”
You raise a hand and shake your head. “No Jinyoung. You won’t make me say what you want to hear. You’re drunk, stop this.”
“Of course I am drunk!” He speaks louder, annoyance tainting his vocal cords. “I am wasted because it’s all I can do! Breaking news: not everyone is as heartless as you.”
It stings. No matter how this is what you wanted, hearing his pain can only make you regret.
“It’s better this way. Look around you! How would you have lived? Jobless? Disowned?” He doesn’t understand. Life is not a soap opera; love is not always the answer to everything.
“I told you to trust me! I told you I would sort this out! You didn’t listen, you freaked out and left, even though I told you to stay with me, no matter how I begged! How cruel is that?” Jinyoung gets up, ignoring his spinning head and contracting stomach. Rage is blurring his vision and the memories haunting.
You don’t know what to answer. As much as you want to think you are right, it is cruel. Jinyoung didn’t go against his parents to get dumped.
“I don’t know what to say...all I did was for your happiness. You can’t risk everything for me.” You explain, eyes now equally watery.
Jinyoung nods, eyes closing painfully. He goes to the windows; the place he loves the most in your whole flat. “Do you remember our first kiss?” he asks, not even turning around. “It was right here.”
You smile, that night still printed into your brain. Jinyoung confessed a day after you both met.
His smile was wide and hopeful that day; nothing seemed to stop him as he explained his attraction to you and how he loved the way you dismissed him when he showed up at your desk and explained he had to see your boss for and important matter.
He had left his number on his way back with a wink while your boss yelled at you for not letting the son of an important business man see him.
Stupid, you thought, as you still dialled his number to complain.
He asked you out and a day later you were kissing, his hands on your hips and yours in his hair.
Now he looks pitiful, abandoned and disturbed.
“I remember.”
He finally turns around, his last attempt at making you come back to him hanging on his lips.
“I made it clear that no one else but you are going to be in my heart.” He raises said hand, a single tear falling on his cheeks and he must be pretty drunk to openly cry like that in front of you. “Did you really think I was going to get married to someone else but you? This is ridiculous, you don’t marry people you don’t love.” he walks away, pacing weirdly and even bumping into your lamp.
“What have you been telling your parents?” Jinyoung is stubborn, you don’t know why but he cannot let things go. “What are you going to do if they ever-”
“If they can’t understand something as simple as their only son’s well-being, there is nothing I can do.” Jinyoung concludes, looking hurt both because of your rejection and his parents’ inability to let him do what he wants. “I will not stay around people who want me miserable, but I can stick to those who make me feel loved and understood.”
“I’m sure it can’t be that bad to get married to a rich and pretty girl.”
Jinyoung stops walking, looking dumbfounded. “Do you even hear yourself? It can’t be that bad?”
“I mean, your career is your future. Your family is important, too! What is so special about me that you’re willing to risk everything even after I broke up with you?!” You yell, hating both yourself and him for being in such a situation.
“I don’t know, you tell me. Why are you wearing stained pyjamas on a Friday night while watching stupid videos? Why aren’t you enjoying your single life as you should?” Jinyoung hits jackpot as easy as he used to. He knows you; you’re not the type of person who watches questionable videos, anyways.
“I was tired.” Is all you say, your drained face giving away your current mind-set.
“Please,” Jinyoung rubs his forehead, completely done with your behaviour. “You’re not happy. You think you made the right decision but you didn’t. You’re fooling yourself and trying to be an altruist by ‘saving my life’ yet you’re stomping on me again and again. So what if I have to work shitty jobs and sleep here? Are you scared that you might not take advantage of my bank account? Is me being poor so bad that you want me out of your life?”
It triggers you, it triggers you so much that you start crying. “Stop!” You shake your head, your heart clenching. “I’m warning you, never imply, ever again, that I was after your money.” you want to sound threatening but you must look ridiculous. “Do you think it’s easy for me? Do you think I can spit venom and feel nothing? I didn’t want you to suffer because of me, I want you to be happy and live the life you should be living. I’m literally forcing myself to stop loving you, Jinyoung.”
“You don’t understand, I don’t want you to stop.” Jinyoung breathes, his feet aiming for your trembling figure. His tone softens when he sees you crying. He doesn’t think he will ever be able to handle such a view. “What I’m trying to say is that no matter the amount of wealth and the number of connections, you make me happy and you’re the life I should be living. If you take that away from me, I’m done for.”
You sob harder, his words buzzing and more comforting than ever.
He brushes your arm silently, his head dipping to take a good look at your bloodshot eyes. “Can you please stop trying to take all the decisions and believe me? It’s been a month and now I need you to come back to me.”
He doesn’t give you a choice; but you don’t need to ponder.
“Are you really not going to regret this?” You try one last time, your eyes searching for his but his drunk face shows no concern, no sign of doubt, no hint of hesitation.
“All I’m regretting is that I didn’t come sooner.” He concludes, his arms spreading to signal he needs a hug.
You carefully envelop him, his scent hinting he has been drinking a lot of liquor. “Promise me you’ll try to convince your parents some more.”
You hear him chuckle, his arms rubbing your back. “I promise.”
“I actually missed you a lot.”
Jinyoung can only inhale, his arms tightening and head finding shelter in the crook of your neck.
“Welcome back, baby.”

Reunion Drama || Chris Evans Imagine
{anon} Can I request Chris finding out you and you’re male best friend used to be friends with benefits
A/n i’m not sure how it got where it did my mind just kind of ran, but i love this, also it’s long and probably should’ve been broken into parts, but i’m one of those people who most of the time won’t read something on here in multiple parts (i don’t know why lmao). It also saves the waiting for the next part and easier to put in the masterlist i’m going to make.
Warnings angsty and sad, fluff and nudity at the end but no smut
*gif not mine*

The shower turns off in the bathroom, and through the open door, you can hear your boyfriend get out and sigh. You lean in the door way and look at him, his back facing you as he wraps a clean white towel around his hips. He looks up in the mirror, seeing you staring at him from behind.
“Like what you see?” he smirks, folding the towel in so it won’t fall.
You snort, rolling your eyes at his usual cockiness. “You know,” you begin, walking across the tile towards him, your hand brushing water out of the hair at the base of his neck. “I’d tease you about taking longer than me to get ready, but you waited until the absolute last second to get in the shower.” You run your fingers through his hair, your nails lightly scratching his scalp.
“I didn’t take that long,” he chuckles. “It’s fine.”
“I have been sitting out there, getting wrinkles in my dress and scrolling through channels on the TV for 45 minutes,” you explain. “You decided it best to start getting ready when I’m completely done. Why’d you take 45 minutes anyway?”
“Had to carefully trim the beard, babe,” he retorts, turning his head and kissing you cheek. He steps away from you and grabs his deodorant off of the counter. “Besides, we’ll still get there in time.”
“It started 20 minutes ago, Chris,” you laugh, poking his sides and making him jolt.
“Fashionably late is on time these days. Why are you in such a rush? You hate everyone that’s going to be there.”
“Ethan’s been there waiting.” Your best friend since childhood, Ethan, was also attending the event this evening, seeing as how it’s a 20 year high school reunion. He’d gotten to know Chris pretty well, and they got along well when he’d come visit you in Boston.
“Will you use my phone to get an Uber?” your fiance asks, looking at you over his shoulder. “It’s on the dresser. I just need to get dresses. Give me like 5 minutes.” He turns and kisses your head, following you out of the bathroom.
You grab his phone off the dresser and stand by the window, looking at the final moments of the sunset as you wait for the Uber app to load.
“10 minutes,” you tell him, turning around to see him already buttoning up his shirt. “How do you get dressed so fast?”
“I wear formal clothes a lot more than the average person, honey,” he says as you walk over to him. He grabs a tie from the dresser and wraps it around his neck, waiting for you to tie it for him like you usually do.
“It’s not that special,” you laugh. “You don’t need a tie.” You slide the silk material through your fingers.
“But look at you,” he gestures to you. “You look all dressed up and pretty.” His hands fall to your waist and you smile, pulling him closer to you by the tie still draped over his shoulders. You connect your lips to his in a hot passionate kiss. He pulls your hips closer to him, trying to wrap his arms around you, but you pull away.
You slide the tie out of his collar and put it back on the dresser. When you look back at him, your lipstick had smeared over his lips messily. You wipe your thumb across his lips, biting your lip.
“You can’t do that if you’re really going to make me go out in 5 minutes,” he says sternly, looking into your eyes.
You step back from him and back into the bathroom to fix your lipstick.
“Uber’s here, babe,” Chris calls into the bathroom.
You meet him by the door and unlock it, open it and wait for him. He grabs the door and meets you in the hall, walking with you arm in arm to the elevator. You sit in comfortable silence while waiting to reach the lobby. You look over at him lovingly, smiling, and see that his shirt is still buttoned up all the way as he thought he’d wear a tie. You turn to him, pulling his arm so he faces you, too, and you undo the top few buttons on the shirt, revealing the perfect about of skin.
The elevator door opens and you’re still toying with his shirt. He clears his throat and you look up at him, scrunch your nose cutely and walk out of the elevator with his hand in yours. As you walk out of the hotel lobby and to the Uber, Chris steps ahead of you and opens the door for you. You thank him as you duck your head and get into the car. A short moment after closing your door, he opens the door on the other side of the car and gets in himself.
“Smells like rain,” he comments, grabbing your hand.
“That’s typical.”
You engage in casual conversation with your driver, mostly Chris as you sit nervously smoothing your hands over your satin dress. Chris notices and simply squeezes your thigh, knowing you’re nervous to see all your old class mates again.
When you reach the venue, you thank the driver, and get out before Chris could reach your side of the car to help you. He looks at you disapprovingly and you just nudge his shoulder and grab his hand. You pull your phone out of your clutch and text Ethan to let him know you’ve arrived.
“Ah shit,” you hear Chris say beside you. You look over at him confused and see him tucking his shirt into his pants. “You noticed the buttons but not that it was untucked?”
“Cuffs, too,” you point out, and he buttons his cuffs while you walk with your arm in his into the old school gym. The music is loud, and of course it’s mostly 90s and early 2000s.
“I have to piss,” you hear Chris say.
“Oh my god, Chris,” you laugh. “We just got here.”
“I’m sorry,” he replies adjusting his pants. You point him towards the bathroom, he kisses your cheek quickly and walks off.
You begin to make your way over to the bar they’ve set up, and Ethan catches up with you.
“Y/n!” the familiar voice calls. You turn to see him rushing towards you, and you pull him into a hug. “Where’s Chris?” he asks when he pulls away from your friendly embrace.
“Bathroom,” you roll your eyes.
“Of course,” he laughs. “Let’s get you a drink.”
Ethan walks with you to the bar, catching up with you since it had been a couple months since you had last seen each other. Of course there wasn’t much new to talk about since you’d text and call him every time something exciting or annoying happens.
When you reach the bar, you notice name tags sitting at the far end. ‘oh geez,’ you think to yourself and go to find yours.
“I already grabbed it for you,” Ethan says, fishing it out of his pocket. “Don’t want anyone seeing your school photo from senior year.”
“Oh my god, shut up,” you laugh and take the tag from your friend, noticing that he had crossed out ‘Ms Y/n Y/l/n’ and put ‘soon Mrs Y/n Evans’. You laugh at your best friend and his silliness.
“Oo, I haven’t seen it yet,” Ethan says and grabs your left hand, holding it up to his face to inspect your engagement ring. “So much prettier than the pictures, hon.”
“Thanks,” you blush.
“That man sure does have a wallet,” he pesters you.
You look at him with the ‘stop it’ face, and he puts his hands up, defeated. You both hear his name get called, and he turns to see his girlfriend waving him over. You wave at her politely and she smiles back at you.
Ethan looks at you. “Get him to send me a link,” he says, pointing to your ring with a wink as he walks back to his date.
You straighten your back, standing tall trying to hid your nerves of currently being alone at this horrid event. You only came to flaunt Chris. He wasn’t your only accomplishment, but he’s the one most people would notice, or talk about.
The bartender hands you your drink, you thank him and put it down beside you while you stuff the name tag into you purse, not wanting to put it on.
“Y/n?” you hear a voice call. You look up and see a woman parade towards you.
You curse to yourself, wishing you hadn’t been noticed. Your personality and style had changes a lot in the past 20 years, and you rarely post online, but your face never really changes.
Except for her. You recognized most people here, but you didn’t recognize her, yet she wore a name tag, so she had gone to your school. You couldn’t quite read the name tag, and as politely as possible, you look at her quizzically, silently asking who she is.
“It’s Stephanie!” she say excited. Your taken aback. You thought she was overly pretty in high school, being a popular cheerleader, but apparently not pretty enough, because she had obviously had some unnecessary work done. Talk a bout a Karen. Not only did her appearance surprise you, but the fact that she was talking to you. She had been a terrible friend, that you wish you’d never had, and you both said some nasty things at graduation. Why is she acting like nothing happened?
“Oh, hi,” you greet her. She starts a dreaded, yet casual conversation to catch up, luckily focusing it on herself so you don’t have to talk about you, but that’s natural for her -- being the center of attention. She tells you about her husband, a lawyer, who unfortunately couldn’t make it to the event. She tells you she’s his secretary, and that they have 3 kids. 4, 9, and 15. You zone out at the rest, wondering how she met a lawyer and had a kid with him at 23. It seemed unreal for her to actually find real love and not just be playing a game. You concluded that they probably hooked up once or twice, and she got pregnant and with her master manipulation somehow convinced him to stay.
“What about you?” she asks, and your shoulders drop, not wanting to talk about your own life. “I heard you and Ethan started sleeping together in college. He’s always been hot. Is that still a thing?”
“No, it’s not. I’m -” you begin but get interrupted buy someone clearing their throat behind Stephanie. She turns around and sees Chris standing behind her.
Chris looks surprised, angry even, He considered Ethan a friend at this point, but he was unaware of the fact he just heard. You didn’t think to mention it, it having been so many years ago. It didn’t seem relevant or important until Stephanie let it slip.
She was dumb-struck looking at Chris. “Oh my gosh!” she exclaimed. “I heard you were here. I didn’t want to believe it until I saw it for myself. Who are you here with?”
Chris walks around her and over to you, wrapping his arm around your waist. “My fiance,” he answers. He grabs your hand and holds it out for Stephanie to see the large rock on your left ring finger. You blush as her jaw practically hits the floor.
She takes a step closer to the two of you, Chris towering over you both. “How much did she pay you?” she laughs, obviously not believing the situation. “How did she pay you? She certainly couldn’t afford something this extreme.”
You scoff and roll your eyes, thinking it typical of her. Chris looks at her in disbelief and pulls you away from the snooty bitch, his arm wrapped tightly around you. He pulls you out of the gym to the lobby, walking so fast you could barely keep up, and you were stumbling over your heels.
“Chris what’re you doing?” you ask, worried.
He drops his arm from around you and turns away from you, several steps away. he runs his hands over his face and through his hair.
“Chris?” you say again, more concerned. He only ever acted like this when he was mad, and seeing him mad was never pleasant.
He turns back to you, dropping his arms by his side. “How long?”
“How long what, Chris?” you are still very confused.
“Don’t bullshit me and try to play dumb, Y/n,” he says, his voice gradually getting louder. “How long were you and Ethan sleeping together?”
You sigh, finally realizing what this was about. You could always tell he was wary of Ethan, you just wondered how long it would take him to say something. You look up at him, a mix of angry and sad tears prickling your eyes.
“How long?!” he yells.
You wince, feeling lucky that the music in the gym was so loud. “A year or two,” you say quietly and he huffs, throwing his arms up in the air, “but it doesn’t matter.”
Chris turns away from you again, facing the wall and slamming his hand against it. You know it wasn’t anywhere near full force because he showed no sign of the impact against the brick wall hurting him. You jump back, intimidated by him.
“There were never any strings attached,” your voice cracks. “It was purely friends with benefits. We both just needed the physical affection.” As you try to explain, you step closer to him, putting your hand on his shoulder as he leans against his forearm up against the wall with his head hanging, pinching the bridge of his nose.
He jerks away from your touch as soon as your hand grazes his shirt. “Do you know how many ‘friends with benefits’ relationships end in feelings, Y/n?” he looks at you, astounded. “Your mom always wanted you to marry him anyway!” He takes a few breaths, but you don’t dare try to interrupt him. “And you just expect me to believe that Hot-Shot Ethan, who can have whoever the fuck he wants, chose to fuck around with you?” His voice is louder than it had ever been when talking to you.
His words hit you like a slap across the face. Like high school all over. Before college, before you cut off trying to find a romantic interest, all you had ever been was used, played, lead on. Then forgotten about or thrown away. A sob wracks through your body, and you take off your engagement ring. The logical part of you knows he’s just saying this because he’s mad, and he wouldn’t have asked you to marry him if he were just using you. But then your paranoid and insecure side tells you he is, that he’s just with you because the media thinks he needs a wife. It tells you you’ve never been good enough, and you never will be. You grip the ring tightly in your hand, the stone pressing into your soft skin.
“He trusts me, Chris,” you say weakly, covering your sobs with your other hand. “And I thought you did, too.” Your voice is broken, and you sound nothing like your normally composed self. You press your hand with the ring against his chest. “I thought you loved me. But apparently I’m wrong about a lot of things.” You let the ring drop from your hand as you pull away from him and trudge away, your broken heart making it difficult for you to walk straight. You hear Chris calling after you, asking you to wait. Saying not to go, but you ignore his pleads and open the door, stepping into the rain unfazed, letting your feet take you anywhere away from here.
Chris watches you leave, wanting to run after you but glued to the spot. The words that left his mouth astound him. The creaky gym door open behinds him, and he swings around to see Ethan walking towards him. Chris wants to scream, maybe even throw a punch, but all energy suddenly sucked from his body, he can only collapse on the bench next to him.
“What’s wrong?” Ethan asks as Chris hangs his head in his hands and puts pressure on his eyes with his palm. “I asked Stephanie where Y/n went, she said you pulled her out of the gym really suddenly.”
“I should be screaming at you right now,” Chris says, his voice loud, but hoarse from the need to cry burning his throat. “How could you to just hide the fact you were sleeping together and go around like it never happened. Are you still?”
Realization hits Ethan. Stephanie hears everything about everyone, and word spreads fast, especially since you and Ethan both went to the local university. She would spill anything she hears in high school, craving the drama. Evidently, some people never change.
“That was nothing,” Ethan explains. “We were both lonely college kids, and old friends who needed company. We were comfortable around each other, it was just easy. But it meant nothing. Not feelings developed on either side.”
“Why’d you stay friends with her?” Chris’ voice finally breaks.
“We’ve been best friends since kindergarten, and we mutually agreed to stop when we left college. I’m not just going to abandon her like everyone else she let close. It shouldn’t matter. We didn’t think it would because she loves and is completely committed to you. You should at least know by now that she doesn’t take loyalty lightly.”
Chris’ body shakes as he tries to hold back his tears and he doesn’t say anything.
A shiny glint a ways from Chris’ foot, and bends down, finding your engagement ring on the ground. “Where’d she go?” Ethan asks, picking up the ring. “Where’s Y/n, Chris?”
“She left,” Chris sobs. “I -” he inhales deeply. “I told her a hot-shot like you wouldn’t chose her.”
“Chris, what the fuck?!”
“I know! I-I just couldn’t bare the thought of losing her to you -- to someone she’s known her whole life. I just love her so much any possible threat of losing her blinds me and I just say stupid shit that I don’t really think. I can’t lose her; she’s the best thing to every happen to me.”
Ethan, knowing you so well, and loving you like a sister, fights the urge to hit Chris, knowing he’ll most likely lose, for one, and for two that won’t help the situation. Chris is already extremely distraught, so there’s no need to physically drill him with the emotional damage he’s done.
“I know where she might me,” Ethan starts. “I’ll go find her. You go back to the hotel before you do anything else you’ll regret.”
Chris jumps off the bench, angry. “No, you stay the hell away from her! Just because I fucked up by saying that shit doesn’t mean I trust you,” he yells, almost the top of his voice, and jabs a finger into Ethan’s chest, pushing him backwards slightly.
“I know her better than you do, jackass,” Ethan yells back at Chris. “She won’t talk to you anyway, at least not now. We’re best friends, and I have always been there for her as she has for me. One thing I do know without being with her right now, Y/n needs you. Not because she can’t support herself, but because she loves you so damn much. But after what you just said, her walls are going to built back higher than they were when you met her because she feels like she can’t have you. And if she can’t have you -- the love of her life -- then she won’t want anyone. So she needs me. She needs a friend’s shoulder to cry on, someone to tell her everything is going to be okay. Someone she can trust and vent to like she always has. So, yeah, Chris. I am going to find her.”
Ethan turns and walks out the doors before Chris can protest further, shoving your engagement ring in his pocket in hopes of convincing you to take it, and Chris back. He get’s outside, and a nostalgic feeling hits him, and guides him to the most logical place you’d be before he could even thing about it. He did think about it once he realized where he was going. And he felt like a teenager again, running after his best friend who just got her heart ripped out. That was true, accept he was twenty years older now. So he goes to the place you’d always run and hide, where he could always find you when he lost you. He goes to the park, a couple streets over from the school. The walk is longer than he remembers, and he sympathizes for you, thinking about the heels and dress you’re wearing, how cold you must be in the freezing rain with no jacket, only a thin dress. The walk always seemed shorter and less inclined as a kid, but that was probably because being 20 years younger gave you more energy.
He reaches the park, passing the play grounds you and him used to play on as kids, and even some as teenagers. He heads to the back, where a large open space sits, a stage at the front of it. Local bands or school music groups would play on the stage sometimes, mostly during the holidays, otherwise it was unused. As he had suspected, he saw you sitting on the stage, your feet hanging off the edge. He walks closer, picking his pace to a faster jog, and stops at the wall of the stage, when he’s below you, making you look at him as you look at your feet.
You look at his worried expression when you see him, and the tears the stopped not long ago came running back. You thought you had dried out your eyes to the point you couldn’t cry anymore, but it turns out you were emotionally numb to the pain you’ve already felt. Cut the knife into the wound more, and you could still feel it.
Ethan climbs the stage, sitting next to you and wrapping his arm around your shaking form. Shaking from the cold, and crying. He holds you a moment, letting you lean on his shoulder as you cry, before he says anything.
“Y/n,” he starts, but you don’t respond. You don’t even look at him. “You should go talk to Chris.”
You inhale shakily as you sit up. “I thought he was different,” you sob. “I thought he’d be different than everyone else. Everyone just treats me like shit. Use me. Lead me on. Play me. Throw me away. Forget about me. He’s the same as all of them. I always thought  he’d be different. Even when he was just a stupid celebrity crush. But I was wrong. I’m always wrong. He used me, played me. Worse than anyone. It’s all I’ve ever gotten. Maybe it’s what I deserve. I’ve never been good enough”
“Oh, shut the fuck up, Y/n,” Ethan exclaims. “You are worth everything. You’re an amazing friend, an amazing person. You’re unbelievably smart -- you’re an attending surgeon for god’s sake. You did that on your own.  You’re strong and you don’t let anything challenge you.”
“That’s because i got over everyone treating me like shit.” You laugh at your own stupidity, wiping at your tears. “I avoided talking to anyone if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. But then Chris waltzes into my life, convinced me he’s the love of my life, and then rips my heart out.”
“Chris is the love of your life, stupid,” Ethan laughs. “His love for you -- God, I’ve never seen anything like it. That man loves you more than anything. He’s scared of losing you, Y/n, and, take it from another guy, we get scared and we say shit we would never mean. He’s broken. He broke himself when he said that, and in all honesty, he seems more broken then you. You need each other.”
You sit, listening to your best friend go on about this. And as much as you hate to admit it, Ethan’s right. “Fine,” you sigh.
Ethan orders you an Uber back to the hotel and waits with you in comfortable silence until it arrives. When it does, he stops you before opening the door, and pulls your ring out of his pocket, placing it gingerly in your hand. He opens the door for you, tells the drive to turn on the heat, and waves you off. You get the impression that the drive see’s you’re not in the mood for casual conversation.
When you get up to your hotel room, you quietly open the door. Chris is laying on the bed, crying against the pillow you slept against last night. He’s still wearing his button up and slacks.
“Chris,” you call, barely above a whisper, but still loud enough so he can hear you.
Chris doesn’t respond, thinking his mind is playing tricks on him.
You put your wet clutch down on the table and crawl onto the bed next to him, wrapping your arms around his shaking body. You had never seen him like this before, and you absolutely hate it. As you hold him, you begin to cry again with hi, silently but your body still trembles.
“Chris,” you sob out against his shoulder.
He sits up, leaving your arms but then pulling you into his. Your smeared makeup stains his shirt, but he doesn’t care. He only cares that he has you. As he holds you, he says he’s sorry, over and over again. You cry into his chest, gripping onto his shirt. Chris holds your head in his sizable hand, holding you to him as he cries, kissing your hair.
You stay like that, with him repeatedly saying he’s sorry. After a few moments in each other’s arms, where you’re meant to be, you both calm down. Chris moves, cradling your cheeks gently in his hands, wiping the tears away from your eyes.
“Y/n,” he says, still breathing shakily as the aftershocks of your bodies persist to wrack through you. “I’m so, so sorry. I never meant any of that. You’re the love of my life, and you are perfect in every way shape and form. Any guy would be the luckiest to call you theirs like I get to. I was just scared -- terrified of losing you. Especially to someone you know so well. Someone who has been there for you practically your whole life. I felt like I can’t compete.
You look up at him, tears prickling your eyes again. “You used my biggest insecurity against me,” you tell him, sobs convulsing you once more.
He grabs your waist, pulling you into his lap and stoking your hair. “I’m sorry. I was wrong to ever suggest anything like that. You’re more than good enough. If anything, you’re too good for anyone. I sure as hell don’t deserve you. You deserve the pure world, and I would give it to you in a heartbeat if I could, but this corrupt piece of shit planet we live on doesn’t deserve you. You’re just too good.” With his words, his constant reassurance, you begin to calm down again. “Everyone from your past is stupid. High school and college kids are all drama, sex crazed maniacs. Some people -- you -- don’t deserve to be around such bullshit for so long. That’s life, and there’s no easy way to avoid it. You’re so strong and you prevailed through all you’ve been through. All those assholes were naive. If they had actually taken the time to get to know you, like I do, and if they would get over their stupid everlasting pubescent hormones, like I did, they’d all be begging for you, like I do, and they’d love you more than anything. Like I do. Those five minutes after the bathroom before I found you, when I did find you, everyone’s eyes were on you. You;re beautiful, and when you’re confident like you’ve become it just radiates more. It’s more noticeable. You’ve become so confident since college, you’re still the same adorable geek, but you own it, you don’t shy away from it anymore. You’re proud to be you, and not many people can say that.” He kisses the top of your head as he finishes his spiel.
You look up at him, caressing his cheek gently as you look at him with all the love in the world. “I don’t deserve you, Chris,” you smile pathetically.
“No,” he says seriously. “Nuh-uh. Nope. Don’t start that bullshit. You’re a puppy.”
You laugh, looking at him confused.
“Puppies deserve anything they want, but they’re too precious and must be protected at all costs. So are you. Therefore, you are a puppy.”
“How much time have you been spending on twitter?” you laugh at him, feeling overwhelmed with love.
He nudges your shoulder, and you purposely over react and fall over dramatically as he gets off the bed. He takes you into the bathroom and you both get cleaned up from the eventful night that felt like a whole week. You shower together, but neither of you let things get steamy, as you’ve both agreed that sex is not the appropriate way to make up a mistake or argument. He holds you while in the shower, your back pressed to his chest, and he just admires you lovingly as he washes your back. You get in the bed together after putting some random late-night reruns on the TV, and you lay in his arms.
“My beautiful wife-to-be, you fit so perfectly into my arms,” Chris says, kissing your shoulder. “You were made for me, and I can’t wait to marry you. It’s already the best day of my life, and it hasn’t happened yet.”
You giggle at his lovey-ness, and settle comfortable into your fiance’s arms, falling asleep with ease in your favorite place.

33 itasaku (kiss drabble)
33. An unexpected kiss that shocks the one receiving it.
Oooo! Here we go!! (Mostly fluff with no plot, but hey its a drabble)
🌸🍡
Sakura fists her hands in her hair and lets out a frustrated groan.
“This is impossible. There is no way we can get both sides to agree.” She glances at the clock, blinking a few times to clear her vision. 4:45 am. Kami, they’d been at this all night.
Itachi hums across the desk, pressing long fingers into his temple. He has shed his Hokage’s robe hours ago. It hangs across the chair back behind him, a stark contrast to his dark hair. That too has been swept up into a bun, more casual than she’d ever seen. He looks as tired as she feels. From the darkening circles under his eyes to the way he kept squinting as he leafed through the documents littering his desk. She really should get him glasses. If he’d let her. But it’d be a shame to hide such pretty eyes behind them.
And those kind of distracted thoughts were probably why it had taken her this long to come up with some kind of solution. She scolds herself, trying to refocus.
“Kami, I wish Shikamaru were here,” She mumbles. He may be more of the tactile advisor of the pair, but he was still very, very good with political matters.
“He won’t be back from Suna until the day after tomorrow.” Itachi reminds her. This time, he slips his eyes closed, pressing fingers into the ducts, “And we need this matter settled by morning.”
“It is morning,” She pouts, slumping over and straightening a stack of folders compulsively. There’s a long moment of silence, both either thinking or spacing out.
The sound of him straightening in his chair draws her gaze again. His eyes have sharpened, the same way a cat watches its prey before pouncing. But they are trained directly on her. Its unsettling. She sits up a little straighter as well.
“What is it?”
“Shikamaru is in Suna discussing terms for .. “ he stands up, walking around to her side of the desk and rifeling through the pile of folder was straightening, “...this proposal, correct?”
He opens the file and sets it out in front of her, pointing to a paragraph that had been highlighted several times and circled in red.
“Yes,” she says slowly, trying to see where he was going with this.
“What if we pull out of this deal completely, instead coordinating with both Iron and Wave to take our place instead?” He turns back to her and again his eyes are alight with the thrill of finding an answer to an impossible problem. Despite what he may say, Sakura knows he likes this part of the job.
His excitement is catching and Sakura feels a second wind take over her. She stands, angling herself next to him to lean over the documents. Her shoulder bumps his, but she doesn’t care.
“Its not like we really need this deal anyway,” Her speech speeds up with each word, the idea catching momentum in her head.
“Right, if anything its simply a courtesy for Suna.”
“But the other nations, they’d really benefit.” Sakura grins up at him, “And they are definitely more willing to negotiate with Gaara than with you.”
Itachi shoots her a mock offended look that only lasts a moment. “Also very true.”
She bumps her arm against his and laughs, “You know what I mean.” Then she flips the file to the next page, eyes searching for a different passage.
“And with we adjust these here,” she starts to cross off a few words and scribble in the margins.
“Wait-,” his warm fingers brush hers, taking the pencil out of her grasp. He erases the last few words and finishes in letters penned much more elegantly than Sakura’s chicken scratch.
“This is brilliant!” Sakura laughs, turning her face up to his. He gives her a rare smile, and this close she swears time slows down. His eyes are still shining and his lashes dust over his high cheeks. But more than anything, his face is lit up with such a sharp intelligence and joy, she can’t help but be extremely proud of him. He was brilliant and inspiring and persistent and handsome.
Suddenly Sakura feels so caught up in him and this feeling a shade off from admiration, she can hardly breath. Her heart pounds in her chest and something electric zings through her veins with each beat, urging her to lean into him. She does.
Sakura quickly closes the few inches between them and presses her soft lips to his with the confidence and familiarity as if she’d done it hundreds of times before.
Pulling back, her smile widens and she couldn’t imagine ever feeling more right than this moment. Until her eyes slide open and she sees is thousand yard stare looking right through her. His smile is gone, like she’d stolen it off his face, which is now blank. Shocked. He doesn’t move an inch.
Oh.
She kissed him. Her friend. Her boss. Her Hokage. She kissed the Hokage.
“Sorry.” What else was she supposed to say? “I didn’t - that was an accident.”
Right, believable. She accidentally leaned forward at just the right angle to do kiss him. Right.
He still hasn’t moved, eyes looking right past her. She squirms.
If Sakura had learned anything in her life as a shinobi, it was when to retreat. Now was that time.
“You know what, I’ll just take these back to my place and finish drafting them up,” She starts, quickly turning to close the folder and gather the other across the desk, “then have them on your desk tomorrow morning before you get here. You can message Shikamaru to give the heads up and well go from there.”
Kami, what had she been thinking? They spent a lot of time cramped in this office, sure, but its not like they’d ever flirted. She doubted Itachi even knew how to flirt. He’d only been professional, which she really appreciated after the sexist comments some of her coworkers - including Shikamaru sometimes - were fond of making. Then the first time he’d smiled, like that at her she suddenly just lost it. How? She shakes her head. She knows how, just didn’t want to admit it.
Since the first day working with him, Sakura was steadily falling more and more for him. Well any chance of that working out was no doubt over now.
Sakura clutches the folders to her chest, stealing herself before turning back to see if he’d heard a word she said. His brows are furrowed the exact same way he’d been trying to dissect this political issue. Only this time, he was trying to dissect her. She swallows. At this point, if she could still keep her job she’d be lucky.
“I’m sorry,” she pleads again, barely a whisper. Anything more and he might snap, she worries. “I know I crossed a line and I swear I didn’t mean to-”
His eyes regain some sharpness, making her feel like the prey now, and they settle to watch her mouth as she speaks, “to do that. Its just late and I must be sleep deprived and not thinking...”
As his fingers brush under her chin, she trails off, breathless for the second time this evening. He takes his sweet time bringing his face to hers, unlike her hurried kiss. This time, his lips are soft against hers pliant ones. The tentative brush is experimental, sampling her once, then slanting again, twice.
He peers down under his long lashes, eyes spinning into red. Oh wow. He was so beautiful with that look. Her chest is heaving now, trying to keep her emotions in check and not willing to risk kissing him again. Knowing if she moves an inch she will.
She feels a tug on the folders in her hands as Itachi pulls them from her. The slap of them hitting his desk is unnaturally loud in the silent room. Then a tug on her waist has her stepping closer and closer until she’s flush against him. To her surprise his chest is rising and falling just as quickly as hers.
His Sharingan drags across her face one last time and his fingers brush over her warms cheeks, before tucking strands of hair behind her ear and settling over the nape of her neck.
“Itachi?”
There. His focuses back to her jade eyes and gives away that he’s found whatever answer he was looking for. Only this time, instead of lighting up, he eyes darken with desire for her.
Her whole body warms and she presses closer into him as he dips down to capture her lips, shifting deeper this time. His hand is searing through her shirt at her hip, a sensation forgotten completely as he threads fingers through her hair and urging her to move with him. She loses track of how many times she complies. She lose track of everything and melts under him, so afraid she’ll sink down that she loops her arms around his neck.
The plans are forgotten as he guides her back against the desk. Her folders disregarded as he lifts her to the edge. The whole village still sleeping as Sakura and Itachi lose themselves in each other and steal a few moments to themselves before the sun begins to rise.
