Carrotoon opened a survey asking which limited edition manhwas you want to see re-released. WMMAP is not included among the options, but there's a section where you can write anything you want (like asking them to release volume 8.9). Write "어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 8~9권 초호화 한정판" HERE if you are interested in the cancelled limited merch.

To be honest, I don't think they will ever release it, but it might be good to show them there's a demand.

I wanted to ask you if you could please make a post notifying that carrotoon asked to not publish manhwa's panels on Twitter due to Elon Musk's AI and this also includes who made me a princess. There are some people who believe that because Spoon hasn't said anything then it doesn't matter but the company is speaking for the artists and it's also clear to me that it's not something that Spoon would want. I ask you because I know that you have a lot of reach and people in the fandom are going to read your publication because you are always the one who notifies us of important news. is it okay to edit wmmap photos? I mean... I've seen edits of jennette in panels that are originally from Athanasia and vicecersa, or images of athy and jennette with their eye color changed. In fact I like those photos but I don't know if it's good or not.

Hello! No worries, it's not a bother at all.

Well, it depends. Small edits like giving Lucas short hair in a scene are fine, but edits that go as far as changing the entire contents of the manhwa are not.

Spoon has talked about the kinds of use of her art she's okay with. For example, memes are okay, animations too if they don't use entire chapters and if they don't have commercial purposes. But those edits that alter her art so heavily and misrepresent the manhwa's content are not allowed. It's pretty common sense in my honest opinion. I can search for the tweets where Spoon talked about this, but it will take me a while since most are from 2018 or so. But also, Carrotoon has been taking down that kind of content from Instagram and Youtube (it's just that, there are so many that it's pretty impossible to take them all down), so it's very obvious they are not cool with it.

That's what Spoon has said and Carrotoon's position. If you ask for my personal opinion, I think those edits are very disrespectful and it baffles me a little why they are so popular on wmmap (and manhwa in general) Instagram. It's also very common that those editors use other people's art to make wmmap edits, which has obviously made the artists very angry (and gives wmmap fans a bad look. I remember an incident where an editor taunted a JP artist for not being able to do anything about their edits and made fun of the artist's english skills...)

It's about respect, really. Just because a piece of art is public (and in Spoon's case, it's not, but I doubt most editors read legally) doesn't mean you have rights over it to do whatever you would like. Same goes for reposters, and any unauthorized use. I'm not an artist, but I do write sometimes, and I would be upset if someone took my fic and changed the characters' names to fit their tastes.

I understand that, for example, certain fans are discontent with the manhwa's plot and would like X character to have more protagonism, Y ship to have content, or for Z thing to happen, so they make those edits to fulfill that wish in some way? Or just for fun. But it's still very disrespectful, goes against Spoon's wishes and Carrotoon's policies on fair use, and has driven many amazing fanartists out of the fandom (and upset random artists that had nothing to do with wmmap).

So yep. Edits that misrepresent the manhwa. I don't like them. Please respect Spoon and other artists.
