twitter arguing about 1st vs 3rd person in writing which is like What the fuck ever who cares. but there are people being like “you NEED to be in 1st person to get into a character’s head and get to know them!!” and im like. Huh

#writing #i think being an elitist is cringe and i have no interest personally in the fighting people are doing over which pov is ‘best’#theyre all good when done well. i think you need to read/write more if your perspective swings hard in any direction #and i think u need to let go of ur hatred of booktok/self inserts/etc i think reading is good actually. insert freedom of speech painting #anyone who has read my writing knows im a 3rd person limited rider its where im most comfortable and where i feel i maximize my writing #abilities. but i have my fingers dipped in everything ❤️ and YOU SHOULD TOO!!!! or at least try it #i used to haaaaaate 2nd pov but during covid cowrote tens of thousands of words of it. and i still have personal hangups abt 1st but thats #where i started writing as a baby and like all things it Can Be Very Good if done well. if u think all 1st is bad u need to Read More ‼️#i kinda drifted from my main point Oopsies. i ❤️ u forever 3rd pov limited and now im rapidly approaching pointy objects lockdown TEEHEE
