Expo Prado 2023 - la música del interior llega a la capital

Del 8 al 17 de septiembre, la Rural del Prado recibirá una nueva edición de su clásica feria ganadera, que incluye entre su grilla de actividades diversas propuestas de música en vivo

Hoy comenzó una nueva Expo Prado; la feria ganadera que celebra en 2023 su 118ª edición acercando una vez más el campo a la ciudad. Como es costumbre, además de la exposición de animales, los remates, premiaciones y conferencias relacionadas; uno de los grandes pilares de Expo Prado recae en los espectáculos.

A continuación, una grilla de las diferetes propuestas musicales que pueden disfrutarse en el predio de la Rural del Prado desde hoy y hasta el próximo domingo 17 de septiembre inclusive.

En el stand del Instituto Nacional de Calidad (INAC) habrá música en vivo todos los días a las 17.30 horas. Esta es la grilla:

Viernes 8 y domingo 10: Cuarteto del Amor Sábado 9 y sábado 16: Nacho Obes Lunes 11 y domingo 17: Meta Fuelle Martes 12 y miércoles 13: Dúo dos guitarras Jueves 14 y viernes 15: Saxofonista Peter Anton

La Intendencia de Colonia ofrecerá dos espectáculos en su espacio dentro del predio. El lunes 11 a las 16hs, la cantante Luana dará un show acústico en el marco de la inauguración del stand y el sábado 16 a las 17.30 el gruó folklorico de los Alpes Los Alegres Alpinos presentará su show 50 años.

El Pabellón de Gran Bretaña convertirá su explanada en escenario los días sábado 9, domingo 10, jueves 14, viernes 15 y sábado 16, con música en vivo a partir de las 18hs a cargo de Mey Music (Dúo), Vitu Revello (Solista) y Mateo Cardozo (Dúo).

El stand del banco Itaú, ubicado frente al ruedo también ofrecerá música en vivo de la mano de Catherine Vergnes el sábado 9 a las 19hs. Además, anticiparon en sus redes la presencia de Matías Valdez, aunque sin días ni horarios confirmados.

La Peña de Valdez - la esquina joven del Prado

Frente al ruedo se encuentra quizás el mayor emblema de Expo Prado: La Peña de Valdez. Desde hace 8 años, "la esquina joven del Prado" combina una propuesta gastronómica parrillera con noches de música en vivo. Desde el viernes 8 hasta el sábado 16 (con excepción del día lunes), el público podrá disfrutar de distintos espectáculos musicales a partir de las 19hs.

Plaza Prado

La gran vedette musical de Expo Prado son sus noches de baile, con once jornadas de espectáculos musicales en Plaza Prado. La fiesta empezó anoche, con la presentación de Luana y continuará hasta el domingo 17 de septiembre. Cada jornada, a partir de las 20.30 horas, el escenario ubicado junto a la entrada de Atilio Pelossi recibirá artistas de la Asociación Rural de Jóvenes y nombres consagrados de la música tropical, como Matías Valdéz (Artista del Año elegido por el público de los Premios Graffiti 2022) y el floridense Chacho Ramos, conocido por generar las convocatorias más masivas del ciclo.

El costo de entradas para Expo Prado va desde $300 entre semana a $400 los sábados y domingos, con diferencias de precio si se adquieren de forma anticipada o en boleterías. Los ingresos para Plaza Prado se adquieren por separado de manera anticipada y su costo varía de acuerdo a la grilla. Luego de agotar dos tandas, la tercera tanda de ingresos está disponible con costos que oscilan entre los $250 y los $900.

When burnt at the stake she was not wounded but was eventually killed with a sword. Although in modern times portrayed as a saint wearing a candle lit wreath, many accounts (from the middle ages and even into the late 1900’s) describe Lucy to be a witch, an evil spirit or a leader of spirits. The Tatzelwurm [Alpine folklore; European folklore]

In the higher regions of the Alps, there live – according to legend – strange lizard-like creatures known as Tatzelwurms. They have the head or face of a cat with venomous fangs and a long, lizard-like body. According to certain accounts, it has multiple legs like a caterpillar and a body covered in fur. According to Johann Wyss, the existence of this creature is dubious. Unlike dragons, which, as he pointed out, are not real.

The same author also claimed that there are two subspecies of Tatzelwurms: the common ones, which are black, and the white ones, which carry a tiny crown on their heads. If one of these creatures is nearby, you might be able to hear their cry, which sounds like a loud hissing noise. Placing a white rooster near your cows supposedly prevents the Tatzelwurms from stealing milk.

Meeting Lord Mortvm

He's a man of few words, so we weren't sure what to expect when we approached the elusive LORD MORTVM for an interview. If this is your first encounter with the Norwegian black and doom metal artist, read on. You'll get the lowdown on his background and influences, and audit the new album 'Diabolical Omen of Hell' (2021), which entered the Doom Charts at #17 in March.

Lord Mortvm, thank you for your time. After receiving "Devil Doll" from you, I was hoping we'd have a chance to talk. How are you?

Hey, Shawn. I'm fine. I'm happy and surprised by the good reception of the album. This is my first interview, so I really appreciate the opportunity and your time.

Thank you for sending me your album, 'Diabolical Omen of Hell' (2021). That's one hell of a record! Your album artwork looks like Death Crush from Mayhem and your music sounds like Dark Throne and Electric Wizard hung out and produced a beautiful black metal doom baby!

Thanks, man. Yeah, those are some strong influences for me.

What are your doom metal influences?

Black Sabbath, of course, but also St. Vitus, Pentagram, Death SS, and Electric Wizard.

What about your black metal influences?

That would be Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor, and Satyricon.

Do you do everything in the band?

Yes. I composed, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered the album entirely.

You have some delicious riffs on 'Diabolical Omen of Hell.' Please tell me about your guitar setup.

For my guitar tone, I use a Gibson SG, Marshall JCM 800 head, Orange 4x12 cabinet, Boss FZ2, Boss Hyper Metal, and Xotic Booster.

How would you characterize Lord Mortvm's music?

What people make us believe is "wrong" is attractive. I like to create something that is unconventional. I love being in a trance listening to the same riff for 20 minutes and enjoying it. I like aggressive music that makes me let go of all the shit that we carry inside. I have been through several bad situations in my life and black and doom music always accompanies me and I identify with these genres.

"Merciful Lord" is my favorite song! It gives me chills and my hairs stand on end.

It's the first song I wrote for the album. It's a riff that is repeated throughout, while the lyrics speak of not wanting to be in this world anymore and surrender to the Lord -- which is not me! (laughs) I wanted the first song I wrote to be the last on the album, and I wanted an epic ending. I think the guitar solo and the screamings do a great job.

"Children of Haze" is a song to transcend, to float away in meditation. "We set our lives ablaze," " Close to the edge, dancing madly". I'm sure I can relate!

How good what you say! There is nothing more pleasant than for someone to relate to what I wrote.

How about those nasty riffs on "Devil Doll" and "Merciful Lord"?

Those were the first two songs that I wrote and they are completely different from each other. "Devil Doll" is a more "classic" song with a classic song structure, and is less than four minutes long. "Merciful Lord" is a repeated riff almost ten minutes long. I wanted to be able to play with extremes a bit throughout the album.

You've included some interesting samples throughout the album. Where did you source these?

A bit from the internet, another bit of movies. I don't remember which ones.

On Omega XIII is that Anton LaVey?

Is an excerpt from verse V of Anton Lavey's Satanic Mass.

Looks like you've had a good response so far to 'Diabolical Omen Of Hell.' What do you divine is in the future for Lord Mortvm?

I'm going to continue recording albums, and if everything returns to normal I can make gigs. But above all, I'm going to continue writing music to have something to say to people through it.

I have been offered to do a show for a festival in April, but we still don't know what will happen with this pandemic. At the moment, I already have another album composed that I will record during the year. Hopefully the situation is normalized and I can make a tour.

What music is spinning in the Lord Mortvm Manor these days?

November (a band from the '70s), Walpurgia, Cough, Venom, Exodus, and many others.

And, of course, I have to ask about your favorite horror movies.

Nosferatu, La rose écorchée, Daughters of Darkness, Twins of Evil.

Does the Lord partake of the devils lettuce?

Yes, of course.
