Getting into the Fallout show has me thinking about how much New Vegas stuff you always used to put on my dash when I was first following you. So I re-downloaded New Vegas to give it another shot last night because I was given a link to an anti-crash mod, and who do I see today on my dash but mister Joshua Graham. I just find that so funny, it's been ages since I've seen him on my dash.

I have a partner who's about to play new Vegas for the first time, do you have a list of like recommended or necessary mods for enjoying the base game? Mostly looking for bug fixes and maybe a little QoL. Your help would be greatly appreciated, oh sage of new vegas
istewieai tweaks is pretty catch-all, but you'll have to sit down with it a few times to tune it properly.

loot menu
i recommend you look at a modern modding guide to figure out what bugfixes are appropriate. those patches kind of ebb and shift frequently. YUP is a safe enough bet, but i'm not sure where the community is at with NVTF, NVAC, 4gb etc basic anticrash tools
that's what occurs to me off the top of my head, anyone else want to recommend anything?

موتور درب کرکره ای صنعتی

Which one is the true face of F5?
Some glitch pokemon’s front sprites are “unknown.” When you encounter these pokemon and the game tries to load the sprite, it crashes before it can finish the task. Some folks have captured images, but it still can be a tough call to decide which is the “real” sprite of that pokemon.
The first picture (upper left) is a screenshot I took. This is typically what the crash looks like when you try to encounter F5: a bunch of stripey lines. This is on the latest bgb emulator, an emulator that is considered by many to be the “most accurate” for gameboy emulation. So, when normally playing your game, this is all you’ll ever see of F5.
The image on the top right is from Bulbapedia’s entry on F5. I don’t know who uploaded the image and how they got it. They must have gotten the image somehow, I doubt it’s entirely fabricated, but they must have used some means other than just gameshark wild encounter codes or simple ACE encounter codes to get it.
The lower left image is from this youtube video. This person reports they hacked their game and “froze the sound bank values (C0EF and C0F0) which seems to create a psuedo-anticrasher of some sort.” (they used BGB) As you can see, the screen is a bit of a mess, and it’s hard to seperate out what is sprite and what is just screen garbage, but there’s almost a distinct shape in there. Is this the “true” face of F5? Basically, by freezing the sound banks, it allowed the game to load the front sprite more than usual, but it does eventually crash as well.
The lower right image comes from this youtube video here. This Youtuber took a different approach to get it. The right sprite in the picture was created when he “disabled part of the algorithm [that draws a sprite]” since that algorithm is what normally crashes the game upon encounter. He reports that this is “less accurate,” however, since disabling part of that algorithm is disabling part of the very thing that creates the sprite. He says that the left sprite in the image is “more accurate” because it was made by “simulating the same algorithm and same buffer size . . . but using an expanded overall memory size.”
Of course, presumably this “expanded memory size” is larger then the Gameboy can handle (which is why the Gameboy crashes). So this picture is what the sprite would appear as, if the Gameboy were actually capable of loading the instructions for creating the glitch sprite.
My question is this: which one is the “true” face of F5? What do you think?
Do you feel that because the Gameboy would normally just crash, F5 has no true face?
Do you feel that the simple modification of freezing the sound banks (which theoretically could be done with ACE, so no game-hacking devices needed) produces the “true” face of F5?
Or do you think the “true” face is the left sprite in the final picture . . . a theoretical world where Gameboy would have enough memory to show us? Is the real face of F5 so strange that it simply transcends Gameboy’s ability to render it?

i just saw a post criticizing fallout 4 for constantly crashing when ive literally only had fo4 crash on me twice meanwhile if i fucking turn too fast in fnv my game immediately shits itself even with anticrash and a laptop thats well above the recommended specs

The chair of a congressional committee on Thursday urged U.S. railroads and transit agencies to meet a looming deadline to install an anti-crash technology called positive train control after a series of recent crashes.
“I think the American public is tired of excuses,” Representative Jeff Denham, a Republican who chairs the panel that oversees railroads, told a hearing on railroad safety. “Ignoring a congressional mandate again won’t be tolerated.”
The technology known as PTC automatically stops a train to prevent a derailment or crash but is in operation on only 45 percent of tracks owned by freight railroads and 24 percent of tracks owned by passenger railways, according to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA).
In 2008, Congress required that PTC be implemented across the country by the end of 2015, then extended that deadline to the end of 2018. The government can stretch the deadline to 2020 to complete some aspects of the system.
Representative Peter DeFazio, a Democrat, said some commuter railroads “have barely made any progress” and may not qualify for extensions. “Let me be very clear. No, we are not extending PTC again. Lives are at stake,” he said.
FRA acting chief Juan Reyes said the agency has met with all 41 railroads and transit agencies since January to discuss PTC. “We’re going to keep pushing them,” Reyes said at the hearing.
Amtrak Chief Executive Richard Anderson said it is likely that the entire PTC system will not be operational by the end of the year on a “significant number of routes” outside the Northeast corridor.
Amtrak will suspend operations on tracks where railroads have not received approval to complete PTC after the end of the year and is debating whether to “continue to operate over such routes until PTC is turned on.”
He said in areas that where PTC is not currently required such as in yards and terminals Amtrak is considering whether it will continue service after the end of year. “We have a question about whether we’re going to operate at all and I doubt we will,” Anderson said.
The project has lagged in part because of the $14 billion cost of installing it on 60,000 miles (96,000 km) of track and 18,500 locomotives, industry officials say.
The National Transportation Safety Board said that a December derailment of a speeding Amtrak train that killed three people near Seattle could have been prevented with operating PTC. The NTSB has investigated 150 crashes since 1969 that could have been prevented by PTC that claimed almost 300 lives.
“The NTSB is gravely concerned that the majority of the nation’s railroads required to install PTC will not have fully operational PTC systems” by the deadline, NTSB Chairman Robert Sumwalt said at the hearing.
Edward Hamberger, the chief executive of the Association of American Railroads, said ensuring trains from one railroad can operate on another’s tracks “has been a significant challenge.”

At a minimum, installing YUP and New Vegas Anticrash (both mods you can find on nexus, I use vortex because it's easiest to use) would fix that problem. However, if you don't feel comfortable modding, turn off all the autosaves and only save manually. That *should* minimize the crashing a little bit, although you'll need to remember to save. I have time to walk you through the modding process if you want, it's really not that much more difficult than installing a program though.
If you've never played a Fallout game before, which game is the best to start with?

hmm i downloaded fnv’s anticrash mod for fo3 and the script extender bc i saw someone say in a comment it worked for them. and it did at least not make the game crash; however it’s a black screen, also, heard the exploration music.
girl not even the gog version of fo3 IS WORKINGGGG, it did however immediately start from the launcher, unlike steam’s version. still black screen crashing tho.
