How to fix the faucet on the side of the house

Outdoor faucets are usually left unmaintained for years, until at some point the water incessantly sprays out of the handle or drips from the spout and you have no choice but to make a repair. The job is easier than you think, as long as the faucet is not too corroded to disassemble. Spigots have a simple pressure valve that presses a washer onto the valve seat when you turn the handle. Leaks occur when the washer or gasket around the handle is worn. To replace either of these worn parts, you must remove the packing nut.

Turn off the water supply to the faucet by shutting off either the valve on the water line to which the faucet is connected or the main water supply to the house.

Unscrew the sealing nut under the handle of the tap with a wrench. Spray more lubricant if it still won't turn. Hold the nozzle with adjustable pliers if you need to push on a problem nut that has frozen due to corrosion.

Pull the nut off and pull the valve out of the faucet body. Turn the valve over and unscrew the washer on the end with a Phillips screwdriver. Pry it out with a flathead screwdriver and replace it with a new one.

Slide the valve back into the valve body, screw on the gasket nut and tighten it with a wrench. Replace the handle - if you removed it - and tighten the screw. Turn on the water.

Tip

If the faucet has an anti-siphon valve screwed onto the spout and water sprays out of it, unscrew it with adjustable pliers and replace it.

If the only problem with the faucet is that a small amount of water is coming out of the handle, you may be able to fix the problem by tightening the sealing nut with a wrench.

Oh boy dominus hate club is trending in our little neighborhood so I'm here to give my opinions you don't want. Why is a fandom for an anti-fascist comic about giant robots in space forcing fetishistic slavery headcanons onto two bots who are both marginalized for being useless alt-modes in a functionist society that prioritizes usefulness? Why would Dominus Ambus ever have a canonical reason to hurt Rewind, when the entire point of everything he did was to subversively maneuver his way in a society that barely gave him any leg room to begin with, for a change he thought he could bring for other bots like him? Actions that endangered his life and had him permanently lobotomized. Actions that, in another timeline, had him fused to the inside of his load-bearer shell and turned into a flathead. He never did anything for himself, he was certainly negligent and hurt people around him, but his reasoning was not for self-gain, and those reasons stay poignant in his character in multiple timelines. Also again, why are we so obsessed with abuse that isn't there? There are literally characters that are as bad as people think Dominus was, if you want to project abuse onto a transformer. Why make a fanon narrative of slavery for those two specifically, when there are characters that have gone through that abuse, and the story poses the results of their trauma in a way that they could conquer it and never saw them as a helpless victim; they fought to the end, and they empowered themself. (You know who I'm talking about.) In a world where these things happen to real people, it's better to have stories where someone has suffered and survived and conquered, than stories that create more suffering without resolution just to point the finger, not mitigate. It's one thing to relate to a character that has been through slavery, s**ual abuse, and all that, and project your own abuse onto them where it's expected and not harmful. It's something completely different when you have no real constructive ground to make content about those things, what does that say about you?

Yes this is for a storyline in which I do end up shipping canon characters with OC content. It’s 2022 and I’m not afraid to be cringe anymore. So if that disgusts you or doesn’t interest you move aloNG Story Wise: (Taking several years after they escape from prison) Premise of the story is that The Destructix end up kicking Scourge to the curb because of another failed mission. They all basically get sick of his crap and Fiona decided to take back over the Destructix.  They basically betray him and end up shoving him through a ring portal to a far off and unknown location. That’s where he ends up crashing on a local engineer’s robot project, destroying it. Which then he is “taken captive” to basically work and pay off his debt. Then other story plot happens and Scourge basically has to end up on “the good side” and yeh yeah. Design Notes: - He isn’t supposed to be fluffy but more grizzled? Ruffed up? Idk. I imagine he can smooth it down but due to being a shit and also depression it gets out of whack a bit. - Has more scars because of misadventures and attacks (post prison break) - When he gets kicked out, They take his jacket and sunglasses as a “trophy”. So eventually he gets a new pair of sunglasses and a new jacket. (Still misses his old ones) - new shoes because idk I felt like it?? Also his original shoes had a flathead screw in them, now they are Phillips head.
